- 0:00Third Ney five, chapter nine. And it came to pass, though there
- 0:04was a voice heard among all the inhabitants of the earth upon all the face
- 0:08of this land, crying woe, woe, woe unto this people, woe
- 0:13unto the inhabitants of the whole earth, except they shall repent for the devil
- 0:18Laugheth. And as angels rejoice because of the slain of the fair sons and
- 0:23daughters of my people. And it is because of their iniquity and abominations that
- 0:27they are fallen. Behold that great city Zarahemla, have I burned with fire,
- 0:33and the inhabitants thereof? And behold that great city Moroni. Have I
- 0:38caused to be sunk in the depths of the sea, and the inhabitants thereof
- 0:41to be drowned. And behold that great city moronai Ha have I covered with
- 0:46earth and the inhabitants thereof to hide their iniquities and their abominations from before my
- 0:51face, that the blood of the prophets and the saints shall not come any
- 0:55more unto me against them. And behold the city of Guilder have I caused
- 1:00to be sunk, and the inhabitants thereof, to be buried up in the
- 1:03depths of the earth. Yea, in the city of Onaiha, and the
- 1:07inhabitants thereof, In the city of Mocum, and the inhabitants thereof. In
- 1:11the city of Jerusalem, and the inhabitants thereof and waters have I caused to
- 1:17come up in the stead thereof, to hide their wickedness and abominations from before
- 1:19my face, that the blood of the prophets and the saints shall not come
- 1:23up any more unto me against them. And behold the city Gadiandi, and
- 1:30the city of Gdiomna, and the city of Jacob, and the city of
- 1:33Gimgimno, all these have I caused to be sunk and made hills and valleys
- 1:38in the places thereof, And the inhabitants thereof have I buried up in the
- 1:42depths of the earth, to hide their wickedness and abominations from before my face,
- 1:48that the blood of the prophets and the saints should not come up any
- 1:51more unto me against them. And behold that great city Jacobugath, which was
- 1:57inhabited by the people of King Jacob, have I caused to be burned with
- 2:00fire, because of their sins and their wickedness, which was above all the
- 2:05wickedness of the whole earth, because of their secret murders and combinations. For
- 2:09it was they that did destroy the peace of my people and the government of
- 2:13the land. Therefore I did cause them to be burned, to destroy them
- 2:16from before my face, that the blood of the prophets and the saints should
- 2:22not come up unto me any more against them. And to behold the city
- 2:27of Laymen, in the city of Josh, and the city of Gad,
- 2:30and the city of Kishkumen, have I caused to be burned with fire,
- 2:34and the inhabitants thereof because of their wickedness. In casting out the prophets and
- 2:38stoning those whom I did scent to declare unto them concerning their wickedness and their
- 2:44abominations, and because they did cast them all out, that there were none
- 2:47righteous among them, I did send down fire and destroy them, that their
- 2:53wickedness and abominations might be hid from before my face, that the blood of
- 2:58the prophets and the saints, whom my scent among them, might not cry
- 3:01unto me from the ground against them. And many great destructions have I caused
- 3:07to come upon this land and upon this people, because of their wickedness and
- 3:12their abominations. Oh, while ye that are spared because ye were more righteous
- 3:16than they, will ye not now return unto me and repent of your sins
- 3:23and be converted that I may heal you. Yea verily, I say unto
- 3:28you. If ye will come unto me, ye shall have eternal life.
- 3:31Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you. And whosoever will come
- 3:37him, will I receive. And blessed are those who come unto me.
- 3:42Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I created the
- 3:46heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was
- 3:51with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the
- 3:53Father in me, and in me hath the Father glorified his name. I
- 4:00I came unto my own, and my own received me not. And the
- 4:03scriptures concerning my coming are fulfilled. And as many as have received me to
- 4:10them have I given to become the sons of God. And even so will
- 4:14I to as many as shall believe on my name. For behold, by
- 4:17me, redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled.
- 4:24I am the Light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and
- 4:29Omega, the beginning and the end. And ye shall offer up unto me
- 4:33no more the shedding of blood. Yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings
- 4:40shall be done away. For I will accept none of your sacrifices and your
- 4:44burnt offerings. And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart
- 4:49and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and
- 4:55a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost.
- 5:00Even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in Me, at the
- 5:02time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost,
- 5:06and they knew it not. Behold, I have come unto the world to
- 5:12bring redemption, unto the world, to save the world from sin. Therefore,
- 5:18whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I
- 5:23receive. For of such is the Kingdom of God. Behold, for such
- 5:30I have laid down my life and have taken it up again. Therefore,
- 5:33repent and come unto me, ye ends of the earth, and be saved.
- 5:41Third Nephive, chapter ten. And now behold, it came to pass
- 5:46that all the people of the land did hear these sayings and did witness of
- 5:49it. And after these sayings there was silence in the land for the space
- 5:54of many hours. For so great was the astonishment of the people, that
- 5:58they did cease lamenting and howling for the loss of their kindred which had been
- 6:02slain. Therefore there was silence in all the land for the space of many
- 6:06hours. And it came to pass that there came a voice again unto the
- 6:12people, and all the people did hear and did witness of it, saying,
- 6:15O ye, people of these great cities which have fallen, who are
- 6:20descendants of Jacob, yea, who are of the House of Israel, how
- 6:25oft have I gathered you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,
- 6:30and have nourished you? And again, how oft would I have gathered you
- 6:34as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings? Yea, o ye people
- 6:39of the House of Israel who have fallen, yea, O ye people of
- 6:43the House of Israel, ye that dwell at Jerusalem, as ye that have
- 6:47fallen, yea, How oft would I have gathered you as a hen gathereth
- 6:53her chickens, and ye would not o ye house of Israel, whom I
- 6:58have spared. How how oft will I gather you as a hen gathereth her
- 7:01chickens under her wings, if you will repent and return unto me with full
- 7:08purpose of heart. But if not a house of Israel, the places of
- 7:12your dwellings shall become desolate until the time of the fulfilling of the covenant to
- 7:16your fathers. And now it came to pass that after the people had heard
- 7:21these words behold, they began to weep and howl again because of the loss
- 7:27of their kindred and friends. And it came to pass that thus did the
- 7:31three days pass away. And it was in the morning, and the darkness
- 7:36dispersed from off the face of the land, and the earth did cease to
- 7:41tremble, and the rocks did cease to rend, and the dreadful groanings did
- 7:46cease, and all the tumultuous noises did pass away, and the earth did
- 7:50cleave together again that it stood, and the mourning and the weeping and the
- 7:56wailing of the people who were spared alive did cease, and their mourning was
- 8:01turned into joy, and their lamentations into the praise and thanksgiving unto the Lord
- 8:07Jesus Christ, their redeemer. And thus far were the scriptures fulfilled which had
- 8:13been spoken by the prophets. And it was the more righteous part of the
- 8:16people who were saved. And it was they who received the prophets and stoned
- 8:22them not. And it was they who had not shed the blood of the
- 8:26saints, who were spared. And they were spared, and were not sunk
- 8:30and buried up in the earth. And they were not drowned in the depths
- 8:33of the sea, and they were not burned by fire, neither were they
- 8:37fallen upon and crushed to death. And they were not carried away in the
- 8:41whirlwind, neither were they overpowered by the vapor of smoke and of darkness.
- 8:48And now whoso readeth, let him understand he that hath the scriptures, Let
- 8:52him search them and see and behold, if all these deaths and destructions,
- 8:56by fire and by smoke, and by tempests, and by whirl winds,
- 9:00and by the opening of the earth to receive them, and all these things
- 9:03are not into the fulfilling of the prophecies of many of the Holy prophets.
- 9:07Behold, I say, and to yea, many have testified of these things
- 9:11at the coming of Christ, and were slain because they testified of these things.
- 9:16Yea, the prophet Zenas did testify of these things, and also Zenik
- 9:22spake concerning these things, because they testified, particularly concerning us, who are
- 9:26the remnant of their seed. Behold, our father Jacob also testified concerning a
- 9:31remnant of the seed of Joseph. And behold are not we a remnant of
- 9:37the seed of Joseph? And these things which testify of us? Are they
- 9:41not written upon the plates of brass which our father Lehi brought out of Jerusalem.
- 9:46And it came to pass that in the ending of the thirty and fourth
- 9:48year. Behold, I will show unto you that the people of Nephi who
- 9:52were spared, and also those who had been called Lamanites who had been spared,
- 9:58did have eight favors shown unto them, and great blessings poured out upon
- 10:03their heads. Insomuch that soon after the ascension of Christ into Heaven, he
- 10:09did truly manifest himself unto them, showing his body unto them and ministering unto
- 10:15them. And an account of his ministry shall be given hereafter. Therefore,
- 10:20for this time I make an end of my sayings. Third Nephi, Chapter
- 10:26eleven. And now it came to pass that there were a great multitude gathered
- 10:31together of the people of Nephi round about the temple, which was in the
- 10:35land bountiful. And they were marveling and wondering one with another, and were
- 10:39showing one to another the great and marvelous change which had taken place. And
- 10:45they were also conversing about this Jesus Christ, of whom the sign had been
- 10:48given concerning his death. And it came to pass that while they were thus
- 10:54conversing one with another, they heard a voice, as if it came out
- 10:58of and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice
- 11:03which they heard, And it was not a harsh voice, neither was it
- 11:07a loud voice. Nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice, it
- 11:13did pierce them that did hear, to the center, insomuch that there was
- 11:16no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake. Yea,
- 11:22it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to
- 11:26burn. And it came to pass that again they heard the voice, and
- 11:31they understood it not. And again the third time they did hear the voice,
- 11:37and it opened their ears to hear it, and their eyes were towards
- 11:41the sound thereof, and they did look steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the
- 11:45sound came, and behold, the third time they did understand the voice which
- 11:50they heard, and it said unto them, behold my beloved son, in
- 11:58whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name. Here
- 12:03ye him. And it came to pass as they understood. They cast their
- 12:09eyes up again towards heaven, and behold they saw a man descending out of
- 12:15heaven, and he was clothed in a white robe. And he came down
- 12:18and stood in the midst of them, and the eyes of the whole multitude
- 12:22were turned upon him. And they durst not open their mouths, even one
- 12:28to another, and wist not what it meant, for they thought it was
- 12:33an angel that had appeared unto them. And it came to pass that he
- 12:37stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying, behold, I
- 12:43am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified, shall come into the world.
- 12:50And behold, I am the Light and the life of the world. And
- 12:54I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me,
- 12:58and have glorified the Father in taken upon me the sins of the world,
- 13:01in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from
- 13:05the beginning. And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words,
- 13:09the whole multitude fell to the earth, for they remembered that it had
- 13:15been prophesied among them that Christ should show himself unto them after his ascension into
- 13:20heaven. And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto them, saying,
- 13:26arise, and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands
- 13:30into my side, and also that ye may feel the Prince of the Nails
- 13:33in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am
- 13:37the God of Israel and the God of the whole earth, and have been
- 13:41slain for the sins of the world. And it came to pass that the
- 13:43multitude went forth and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the
- 13:48Prince of the Nails in his hands and in his feet. And this they
- 13:54did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth,
- 14:00did see with their eyes, and did feel with their hands, and did
- 14:03know of a surety, and did bear record that it was he of whom
- 14:07it was written by the prophets, that should come. And when they had
- 14:11all gone forth and had witnessed for themselves, they did cry out with one
- 14:16accord, saying, Hosanna, blessed be the name of the Most High God.
- 14:22And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus and did worship him.
- 14:28And it came to pass that he spake unto Nephi, for Nephi was
- 14:31among the multitude, and he commanded him that he should come forth. And
- 14:37Nephi arose and went forth, and bowed himself before the Lord, and did
- 14:41kiss his feet. And the Lord commanded him that he should rise, and
- 14:46he arose and stood before him. And the Lord said unto him, I
- 14:52give unto you power that ye shall baptize this people when I am again ascended
- 14:56into heaven. And again the lo Lord called others and said unto them likewise,
- 15:03and he gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them,
- 15:07on this wise shall ye baptize, and there shall be no disputations among
- 15:11you. Verily, I say unto you, that who shall repenteth of his
- 15:16sins through your words, and desirous to be baptized in my name, on
- 15:22this wise shall ye baptize them. Behold, ye shall go down and stand
- 15:26in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now
- 15:33behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name,
- 15:37saying, having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in
- 15:43the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
- 15:46Amen. And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth
- 15:52again out of the water. And after this manner shall ye baptize in my
- 15:56name. For behold, verily, I say unto you you that the Father
- 16:00and the Son and the Holy Ghost are one, and I am in the
- 16:04Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.
- 16:08And according as I have commanded you, thus shall you baptize. And
- 16:14there shall be no disputations among you, as there have hitherto been. Neither
- 16:18shall there be disputations among you concerning the points of my doctrine, as there
- 16:22have hitherto been. For verily, verily, I say unto you. He
- 16:27that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the
- 16:32devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts
- 16:37of men to contend with anger one with another. Behold, this is not
- 16:41my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of man with anger one against another.
- 16:48But this is my doctrine, that such things should be done away.
- 16:52Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will declare unto
- 16:56you my doctrine. And this is my doctrine. And it is the doctrine
- 17:00which the Father hath given unto me. And I bear record of the Father,
- 17:06and the Father beareth record of me, and the Holy Ghost beareth record
- 17:10of the Father and me. And I bear record that the Father commandeth all
- 17:15men everywhere to repent and believe in Me. And whoso believeth in me and
- 17:22is baptized, the same shall be saved. And they are they who shall
- 17:26inherit the Kingdom of God. And whoso believeth not in Me and is not
- 17:33baptized, shall be damned. Verily, verily, I say unto you that
- 17:37this is my doctrine, and I bear record of it from the Father,
- 17:42and whoso believeth in me, believeth in the Father also, and unto him
- 17:48will the Father bear record of me, For he will visit him with fire
- 17:52and with the Holy Ghost. And thus will the Father bear record of me,
- 17:56and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me.
- 18:02For the Father and I and the Holy Ghost are one. And again
- 18:06I say unto you, ye must repent and become as a little child,
- 18:11and be baptized in my name, or ye can in no wise receive these
- 18:15things. And again I say unto you, ye must repent and be baptized
- 18:22in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in
- 18:26no wise inherit the Kingdom of God. Verily, verily, I say unto
- 18:32you that this is my doctrine. And whoso buildeth upon this, buildeth upon
- 18:37my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them. And
- 18:42whoso shall declare more or less than this and establish it for my doctrine.
- 18:47The same cometh of evil and is not built upon my rock. But he
- 18:52buildeth upon a sandy foundation, And the gates of hell stand open to receive
- 18:56such when the floods come and the wind beat upon them. Therefore, go
- 19:02forth unto this people, and declare the words which I have spoken unto the
- 19:07ends of the earth. A third Nephi, Chapter twelve. And it came
- 19:14to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words unto Nephi and to those who
- 19:18had been called, now the number of them who had been called and received
- 19:23power and authority to baptize was twelve. And behold, he stretched forth his
- 19:27hand unto the multitude and cried unto them, saying, blessed are ye if
- 19:33ye shall give heed unto the words of these twelve, whom I have chosen
- 19:36from among you to minister unto you and to be your servants. And unto
- 19:41them I have given power that they may baptize you with water. And after
- 19:45that ye are baptized with water. Behold, I will baptize you with fire
- 19:49and with the Holy Ghost. Therefore, blessed are ye if ye shall believe
- 19:55in me and be baptized after that ye have seen me and know that I
- 19:59am. And again more blessed are they who shall believe in your words,
- 20:03because that ye shall testify that ye have seen me, and that ye know
- 20:07that I am. Yea blessed are they who shall believe in your words and
- 20:14come down into the depths of humility and be baptized. For they shall be
- 20:18visited with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and shall receive a remission of
- 20:22their sins. Yea, blessed are the poor in spirit who come unto me,
- 20:27for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. And again, blessed are all
- 20:32they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. And blessed are the meek,
- 20:37for they shall inherit the earth. And blessed are all they who do
- 20:41hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost.
- 20:48And blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. And blessed
- 20:53are all the pure in heart, for they shall see God. And blessed
- 20:59are all the peace mays, for they shall be called the children of God.
- 21:03And blessed are all they who are persecuted for my name's sake, For
- 21:07theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. And blessed are ye. When men shall
- 21:11revile you and persecute, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely
- 21:17for my sake, for ye shall have great joy and be exceedingly glad,
- 21:22for great shall be your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets
- 21:27who were before you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, I
- 21:32give unto you to be the salt of the earth. But if the salt
- 21:36shall lose its savor, wherewith shall the earth be salted. The salt shall
- 21:40be thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out and to be trodden under
- 21:45foot of men. Verily, verily I say unto you, I give unto
- 21:49you to be the light of this people. A city that is set on
- 21:53a hill cannot be hid. Behold, do men light a candle and put
- 21:59it under a bushel, Nay, but on a candlestick, and it giveth
- 22:03light to all that are in the house. Therefore, let your light so
- 22:08shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your
- 22:14Father, who is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy
- 22:18the Law or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to
- 22:22fulfill. For verily I say unto you, one jot nor tittle hath not
- 22:29passed away from the Law. But in me it hath all been fulfilled.
- 22:34And behold, I have given you the Law and the commandments of my Father,
- 22:38that ye shall believe in me, and that ye shall repent of your
- 22:41sins and come unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Behold,
- 22:47ye have the commandments before you, and the law is fulfilled. Therefore,
- 22:52come unto me, and be ye saved for Verily. I say unto
- 22:56you that except ye shall keep my commandment which I have commanded you at this
- 23:00time, ye shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Ye
- 23:07have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, and it
- 23:10is also written before you that thou shalt not kill, and whosoever shall kill
- 23:15shall be in danger of the judgment of God. But I say unto you
- 23:19that whosoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of his judgment.
- 23:26And whosoever shall say to his brother raca shall be in danger of the council.
- 23:30And whosoever shall say thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
- 23:37Therefore, if ye shall come unto me, or shall desire to come
- 23:41unto me, and rememberest that thy brother hast aught against thee, go thy
- 23:47way unto thy brother, and first be reconciled to thy brother, and then
- 23:52come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I will receive you.
- 23:56Agree with thine adversary quickly while thou art in the way with him, lest
- 24:02at any time he shall get thee, and thou shalt be cast into prison.
- 24:07Verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou shalt, by no
- 24:11means come out, thence until thou hast paid the uttermost senine. And while
- 24:15ye are in prison, can ye pay even one seenine? Verily, verily
- 24:21I say unto you, nay. Behold, it is written by them of
- 24:25old time that thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say unto you that
- 24:30whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery already in his
- 24:36heart. Behold, I give unto you a commandment that ye suffer none of
- 24:41these things to enter into your heart. For it is better that ye should
- 24:45deny yourselves of these things, wherein ye will take up your cross, than
- 24:49that ye should be cast into hell. It hath been written that whosoever shall
- 24:55put away his wife, let him give her a riding of divorcement. Verily,
- 25:00verily, I say unto you that whosoever shall put away his wife,
- 25:03saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery. And whoso
- 25:08shall marry her who is divorced, committeth adultery. And again it is written,
- 25:15thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord of thine
- 25:19oaths. But verily, verily, I say unto you, swear not at
- 25:23all, neither by heaven, for it is God's throne, nor by the
- 25:26earth, for it is his footstool. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head,
- 25:32because thou canst not make one hair black or white. But let your
- 25:37communication be yea yea, nay, nay, For whatsoever cometh of more than
- 25:42these is evil. And behold it is written an eye for an eye,
- 25:48and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you that ye shall
- 25:52not resist evil. But whosoever shall smite THEE on thy right cheek, turn
- 25:56to him the other also. And if any man will sue THEE at the
- 26:00law and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And
- 26:06whosoever shall compel THEE to go a mile, go with him. Twain Give
- 26:11to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn
- 26:15not away. And behold. It is written also that thou shalt love thy
- 26:21neighbor and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, love your enemies,
- 26:27Bless them that curse you, Do good to them that hate you,
- 26:33and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you. That ye may
- 26:38be the children of your father, who is in heaven, for he maketh
- 26:42his son to rise on the evil and on the good. Therefore, those
- 26:47things which were of old time, which were under the law in me,
- 26:51are all fulfilled. Old things are done away, and all things have become
- 26:56new. Therefore I would they ye should be perfect, even as I or
- 27:02your Father, who is in heaven, is perfect. Third Nephi, Chapter
- 27:07thirteen. Verily, verily, I say that I would that ye should do
- 27:12alms unto the poor. But take heed that ye do not your alms before
- 27:17men to be seen of them. Otherwise ye have no reward of your father,
- 27:21who is in heaven. Therefore, when ye shall do your alms,
- 27:23do not sound a trumpet before you, as will hypocrites do in the synagogues
- 27:27and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I
- 27:32say unto you, they have their reward. But when thou doest alms,
- 27:37let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth, that thine alms
- 27:41may be in secret, and thy father, who seeth in secret himself,
- 27:45shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not do as
- 27:49to hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the
- 27:53corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily,
- 27:56I say unto you, they have their rear lord. But thou, when
- 28:02thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door,
- 28:07pray to thy father, who is in secret. And thy father,
- 28:10who seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray,
- 28:15use not vain repetitions as the heathen, for they think that they shall be
- 28:18heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them, For
- 28:25your father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him. After
- 28:30this manner, therefore pray ye, our father, who art in heaven hollowed,
- 28:34be thy name. Thy will be done on earth as it is in
- 28:40heaven, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and
- 28:45lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is
- 28:51the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. For if ye
- 28:57forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if
- 29:03ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.
- 29:07Moreover, when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites of a sad countenance,
- 29:11for they disfigure their faces that they may appear unto men to fast.
- 29:17Verily, I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou,
- 29:21when thou fastest, anoint thy head and wash thy face, that thou appear
- 29:25not unto men to fast, but unto thy father, who is in secret,
- 29:30And thy father, who seeth in secret, shall reward thee Openly,
- 29:33lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt,
- 29:40and thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in
- 29:45heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not
- 29:51break through nor steal. For where your treasure is there will your heart be
- 29:56Also, the light of the body is the eye. If therefore thine eye
- 30:02be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine
- 30:06eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore
- 30:11the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness.
- 30:17No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and
- 30:21love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the
- 30:25other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon. And now it came to pass
- 30:30that when Jesus had spoken these words, he looked upon the twelve whom he
- 30:34had chosen, and said, unto them, remember the words which I have
- 30:38spoken. For behold ye are they whom I have chosen to minister unto this
- 30:44people. Therefore I say unto you. Take no thought for your life what
- 30:48ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, Nor yet for your body
- 30:52what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and
- 30:56the body than raiment. Behold the fowls of thee, for they sow not,
- 31:00neither do they reap nor gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feedeth
- 31:06them. Are ye not much better than they which of you, by taking
- 31:11thought, can add one cubit unto his stature. And why take ye thought
- 31:15for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they
- 31:21toil, not neither do they spin. And yet I say unto you that
- 31:25even Solomon, in all his glory, was not arrayed like one of these.
- 31:30Wherefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today
- 31:33is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, even so will He clothe you,
- 31:38if ye are not of little faith. Therefore, take no thought saying
- 31:44what shall we eat, or what shall we drink? Or wherewithal shall we
- 31:48be clothed. For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these
- 31:53things. But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and
- 32:00all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the
- 32:05morrow, For the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient
