- 2:16Delegate Waldall is going to join us, and we're gonna talk to all
- 2:21about several things. Of course, Walt, if you know Delegate Hall,
- 2:23he's a big sports guy and everybody's been asking about his opinion on the transfer
- 2:28rule in high school sports. We're going to talk about that with some other
- 2:30things with Waldhall as well, and coming up a little bit later on,
- 2:35Jeff Jenkins is going to join us from the newsroom. It was about twenty
- 2:37four hours or so ago that this horrific story came out of Sistinville with these
- 2:43two kids that were found locked in a barn and were forced to live there.
- 2:49There was another child that was living in a house Squalor. It's an
- 2:52absolutely horrible story, and kat skeleton of our news team actually was there yesterday.
- 2:59We're to talk to Jeff about that coming up a little bit later on
- 3:02as well, plus your calls in text to welcome. Yeah, Kevin McCarthy's
- 3:05out in Washington too, So I'm going to try to get into that as
- 3:09well. You know, I usually try to bring a little humor into just
- 3:14about any subject we talk about here on the show, but with this one,
- 3:16to be honest, it's kind of find a hard even for me to
- 3:20find anything humorous about it. And while you may think that human trafficking is
- 3:24something you only hear about in foreign countries, maybe see on the news or
- 3:29in a movie or whatever, it takes place in America. And also it
- 3:32takes place in West Virginia every day, and it's going on as we speak.
- 3:38There's going to be a summit on the subject of human trafficking held in
- 3:43the Toyota Hall of Bridge Valley Career and Technical College at South Charleston on October
- 3:47the eighteenth and nineteenth. Sponsored and folks that are a big part of this
- 3:52are the group West Virginia Faith and Freedom Coalition. Mark Ryan is on their
- 3:55board of directors. He joins us now, Mark, good morning, welcome
- 3:58to the show. So much for having ten Did you just get a little
- 4:01closer to that microphone if you would there for me. You told me off
- 4:03the air had been a few years since you did radio, so a couple
- 4:06of years, but great, you'll be fine. You'll be fine. Tell
- 4:11us about your role in the summit and this training session and a little bit
- 4:16about the faith and freedom called issures you a little background of how I got
- 4:20involved with this. About ten years ago, there was a private group that
- 4:26worked the southern border and they the mode of operation there was to assist border
- 4:32patrol in detaining illegals. But of course in that there was heroin, terrorist
- 4:42drugs of every kind, weapons and so forth. But over the course of
- 4:46the years, and this is what I had learned then and what brings me
- 4:51to being a part of this now, is that the smuggling and the trafficking
- 4:57of human beings and then therefore children and women, and that was the short
- 5:02story on the border. From there, I knew I had to get involved,
- 5:06knowing that these horrific things were happening in our country and now they're you
- 5:12know, reported in every state. It's the second largest growing industry in the
- 5:15world, and of course West Virginia is back up. Yes, the second
- 5:21fastest growing industry in the world is human traffic. Yes, okay, I
- 5:26just want to make sure I heard that right now, Yes, yeah,
- 5:28so right now, there's about two million children that are in bondage or traffic
- 5:33as we speak, and just some of these other stats just to get out
- 5:38of the way. But as I said, child sex trafficking has been reported
- 5:42in all fifty states. Two million are taken into sex trafficking each year online
- 5:48children. I'm sorry when online solicitors target children one out of every nine,
- 5:59which is which is very alarming and very concerning, especially if you're a parent
- 6:04and you have a children that have access to the internet, and and they
- 6:11do and they and they live in a digital world and and every given time
- 6:15there's a half a million uh predators that are that are seeking uh to do
- 6:20to do harm. So uh, these terrible stats obviously are there. They're
- 6:25trending in the wrong direction. West Virginia is vulnerable because we have a broken
- 6:29foster system, high level of poverty, high rate of drug abuse, and
- 6:34of course the interstate system brings, you know, unfortunately a terrible environment for
- 6:40traffickers to to pray off of our off of our children. And there's this
- 6:46event is going to be held. It's kind of a I guess a summit
- 6:50educational series. What's the best way to describe what's gonna be going on.
- 6:54It's training, it's educational, educational preparedness and training. Uh. One of
- 7:00the missions is to unite all the churches, unite all the educators, bring
- 7:03our government leaders together to bring forth tougher legislation. As we talked about last
- 7:10year. Rep. Steel, Delegate Steel had brought forth bred and Steel,
- 7:15Yes, and the House bill was very aggressive installed in committee. It didn't
- 7:21make it out in committee. We're going to push for the reintroduction of that
- 7:25bill or similar language to pass so that West Virginia has as a tough bill
- 7:31that rivals Florida and a couple of the other states which penalize anybody that's involved
- 7:38with trafficking up to fifty years now. When I know that's going to sound
- 7:43like a really dumb question, but I'm kind of good at dumb questions.
- 7:46When you talk about human trafficking, what is the exact definition of human trafficking?
- 7:51Because I mean, obviously it's going to be trading bodies for money,
- 7:56I would think, but there can be a whole lot more into it than
- 7:59that. What is your definition or what does the group or the definition of
- 8:03exactly what human trafficking is? I mean, I would just simplify it as
- 8:05slavery is literally taking somebody into You have labor trafficking, which happens a lot
- 8:11with cartel activity that bring people into the United States to work to work off
- 8:16their entry. And then of course you have sex trafficking, which essentially is
- 8:22what it states. It's just very simply just modern day slavery. And so
- 8:30how did the whole concept mark of this having this event out of bridge,
- 8:33how the whole concept come about one of Faith in Freedom's core issues. And
- 8:37of course this is a non political, non religious event because we invite everybody
- 8:41to participate because it's an all hands on deck type of it's two day event.
- 8:48Is that right two day event? So we knew for West Virginia,
- 8:52with the Faith and Freedom Coalition or my fellow board members executive director Curtis Workman,
- 8:56it was very important that we put together a pro to call everybody in
- 9:01West Virginia to the table and say, hey, we've got a big problem.
- 9:05And so I called on some incredible educators from Florida that have done a
- 9:11global and national series to train law enforcement, educate church leaders, educators from
- 9:18across the board programs that are effective for the communities that reach the families so
- 9:24that families can therefore protect their children. So we know that this is not
- 9:30just important for this summit, but we want to continue this in perpetuity so
- 9:33that West Virginia becomes a leader and truly fighting this this terrible thing. And
- 9:39how many guest speakers do you have? Approximately about seven or eight with a
- 9:43couple more, probably a total of ten from from veried backgrounds as you said
- 9:46that, but that are all experts in one way or the other that they've
- 9:50either had experience with this or And who are you hoping to attract out there?
- 9:54I know you mentioned a little bit of that, but I know you
- 9:56want to you want to get some some political people, you want to get
- 10:01some people in the churches there. But I mean it's pretty much open to
- 10:03anybody that wants to come, right it is. But you do have to
- 10:07register. You have to register. But we are what we're doing is we
- 10:11would like all of our leaders of the state to come in Governor's office,
- 10:13Attorney General's office, delegates, members of the Senate, pastors, priests,
- 10:20the board, educators, both private and public, because we would like the
- 10:26conversation to take place so that we can break down any other channels that have
- 10:31distracted us before, so that we can work together and collaborate on really just
- 10:39tackling the issue and the group that's coming in to present. They've been successful
- 10:43in doing these programs, law enforcement training, Speak Up program for the church
- 10:48which identifies issues in the community if somebody is unsure or that their child may
- 10:54be targeted or there's an incident. So this just it's preparedness education and then
- 11:00therefore taking action to really just thwart what's happening here in West Virginia. Is
- 11:05there any kind of education either bark with this particular event or in other works
- 11:11that the group and others have done for the kids, I mean, for
- 11:13the for the teens or something, Because again, we live in a world
- 11:18now it's a lot different than what and I'm probably much older than you,
- 11:22but we're basically in the same age group. I would think it was a
- 11:26lot different for us. Growing up. We didn't We didn't walk around with
- 11:28a device in our hand all the time. I mean, the Internet wasn't
- 11:31even a thing, you know when I was a The Internet did to becoming
- 11:35thing till I was an adult. As I'm old. Uh So we didn't
- 11:39walk around connected so to speak, all the time. But kids from the
- 11:43time and mommies and daddies, I mean, I'm a good and call some
- 11:46of them out, not all. They thill a device in their hand when
- 11:48they're when they're three years old because they don't want to take care of them.
- 11:52They would rather have a babysitter and much maybe you know, and to
- 11:56be fair, maybe it's the way it was with television during my generation.
- 11:58I guess, I don't know whatever, but kids are connected and teenagers and
- 12:01they're on all these social media platforms. They're almost connected in all they're waking
- 12:05hours. So is there some sort of an education that you offer, either
- 12:13at this or other to teenagers and say, look, not everybody is your
- 12:16friend that you're playing a game with online in Texas or something. When we
- 12:22do it's specifically in the church and the educational platform training sessions. But you
- 12:26touched on probably one of the most important things is parental involvement or parental neglect
- 12:35in the sense. So what I know now and if I were to say
- 12:39anything to parents who are listening out there, is if you have a child
- 12:43under seventeen, I would make sure you know anything and everything that they're looking
- 12:48at in terms of the Internet, I would spare no expense or just take
- 12:54any an don't take any risks allowing your child to be literally have unfettered access
- 13:03on the internet, because this is where this is where trafficking begins. This
- 13:07is the this is the distribution hub for them to get access not only to
- 13:11your child, but perhaps to your home and then therefore you know other problems.
- 13:18Well, it's going to be a fascinating a couple of days out there.
- 13:20And again it's October the eighteenth and nineteenth at Bridge Valley. How do
- 13:24people sign up? But they want to interest I got somebody listening right now
- 13:26as part of a church group or an elected official or something like that.
- 13:30What do they need to do to sign up and learn more information about so
- 13:31they can register at Wvfaithanfreedom dot com. It's WV Faithanfreedom dot com. And
- 13:39then also we certainly were accepting donations because we would like to continue this educational
- 13:46series and perpetuity for the following years. All right, well, Mark,
- 13:50Mark Ryan, you're one of the board members there with what's Virginia Faith and

- 17:42Della wall Hall joins us around the district fifty eight, Yes, Sir,
- 17:47District fifty eight Republican now District fifty. How are you, sir Walter?
- 17:49Hey doing well? Dave doing well? Thank you doing good man, Thank
- 17:53you for being here. So you've been kind of a busy guy here late.
- 17:56What have you been up to, Walden, Well, what have you
- 17:59been doing? Nothing's changed being a delegate because I'll say this unknown Walt for
- 18:03a number of years, long before he ever got into the world of politics,
- 18:07and you are one of the busiest guys I'd ever met in my entire
- 18:10life before you got into politics. Now we added that job that you have
- 18:14under the dome down there, and you just tripled it a little bit,
- 18:18right, just a little bit. It was being busy, but then there's
- 18:21busy and accomplishing something right, And what have you been doing? Hey doing
- 18:26well. It's good to be back in the office with the insurance portion of
- 18:30my life and entertaining clients and looking for new prospects, still serving the community
- 18:38through the Rotary Club, a city council and Vice mayor of Saint Albans and
- 18:45now serving obviously as the House of Delegate in District fifty eight. So either
- 18:48keeping me busy and I try to accept every invite and imitation to a fair,
- 18:53festival or women's group meetings wherever it is the best, or they feed
- 19:00you. Well, they're very attentive, and uh, it's it's a great
- 19:03experience you were out of hanging out of the senior center? Is that what
- 19:07I understand? I have been quite a bit, not because of your because
- 19:10you're not there yet. I am not there yet. I'm still trying to
- 19:12write down that number you said about pains and I'll take care of you on
- 19:18that there. I know them well, So I'll talk a little bit later
- 19:22on currently going through some therapy for ostio arthritis and versities and both shoulders.
- 19:26So well, we got your hookup with the folks at NATICS, but so
- 19:30senior centers. Well, I was invited to have a passion for helping our
- 19:36community seniors and UH an issue within the Canall Valley UH Senior Services was brought
- 19:41to my attention. So I'll be spending a good deal of my time and
- 19:45energy learning more about what they've told me, what they've shared with me,
- 19:51which is a possible gap in funding should I say, less funding than they
- 19:56were originally promised. And how did that happen to me? Just well with
- 20:00the it's just the d HHR separation, and I think the monies that came
- 20:10down during the COVID days, we were feeding about every senior or request that
- 20:17was accepted at the Senior Center Canal Valley Senior Services. You know you're talking
- 20:22about thousand meals a day. Oh yeah. And being in my district is
- 20:26the Hansford Senior Center and the West Status Senior Community Center in Nitro, so
- 20:33we both participate in the nutrition program. And now with the COVID money expiring
- 20:40and being depleted, now we have to find new and creative I don't I'm
- 20:44not sure if we as legislators can do anything about it. But I'm here
- 20:48to bring a conversation to the table and see how we can assist and help
- 20:52and bring food to the folks that need it the most. Again, we're
- 20:56talking with Walt Hall, Republican out of District fifty eight here on five eighty
- 21:00Live. Five eighty Live is brought to you part by Meek's Realty Group.

- 21:17It's located in Tay's Valley, Woodvale Heights. For more information called three
- 21:21zero four four zero one one one zero one to visit Meeks dot u S.
- 21:26I know Walt that you're a big Saint Albans guy, uh and Mayor
- 21:30Scott James is going to join me on the show Friday. But there's some
- 21:33big events going on there in the s A in the St. Albans area.
- 21:37You get the fall Yall's going on this week? Yes, a lot
- 21:40of law. You know, there's always something going on in your part of
- 21:42the world over there. Well we Scott, Mayor James. You say it's
- 21:45the best kept secret, but the secret's god as much of a secret anyhow.
- 21:49Right, Well, fairs and festivals are important to Main Street America.
- 21:56I believe bringing folks down and out and enjoying the shops in the restaurants on
- 22:03Main Street has a special fell and Saint Albans is unique and very fortunate to
- 22:11have a lot of occupants in those buildings these days. And it's a lot
- 22:18to do with how we change some ordinances and made it more business friendly.
- 22:22And Saturday is the fall Y'all Festival. It's the chili cookoff. I spoke
- 22:27with the board member last night and we have twenty five participants in the chili
- 22:36vendor. Our business through Morris Insurance, will have a booth there and the
- 22:40fire departments kind of challenge each other in the local area. So from twelve
- 22:44to five on Main Street and Saint Albans there'll be a live entertainment, a
- 22:49lot of good spicy hot chili, and ten the temperature is actually going to
- 22:53start to feel like come this week, I feel like fall and some craft
- 22:56beer vendors and just be good pleasant day. Yeah, I think the high
- 23:03on Saturday was going to be well, not too bad, about sixty for
- 23:06the high on Saturday. It's what they're saying. But the good news is
- 23:07is as looking at the weather forecast here, there's no chance of rain.
- 23:11The rain is going to be I think Friday, Friday night or so very
- 23:15good. You know those events, Dave, just to give a shout out
- 23:18to these Those are hosted by the Streets of Saint Albans on city property,
- 23:23but the nonprofit groups and volunteers are the ones who organize these events. It's
- 23:29a big shout out to the ones who meet And last weekend, when we
- 23:33had two weekends ago, believe it was, was the Saint Albans Train Day
- 23:37and Debbie Austin Brown and the Saint Alban's Chamber put that on. We had
- 23:41close to two thousand kids and parents on Train Day over there along the tracks.
- 23:48Your Fall You Off Festival as a big event. Mountaineer Main Street was
- 23:52a big event. So you know, we're constantly getting three five thousand people
- 23:56outdoors volunteers organizing these events. And I don't think people realize, to follow
- 24:03up on your point, they're nolling good. I don't think people realize that
- 24:06when they when they show up at an event, whether it's in Saint Albans
- 24:08or Charleston or Hurricane or wherever it is, there's a whole lot of work
- 24:11went into that. A lot of work went into that, and and unfortunately
- 24:15what happens is that you don't always have enough volunteers, so you end up
- 24:21having a lot of the same people that are and you know this because you're
- 24:23big on public service. You you have a lot of people that are doing
- 24:27a lot of the same things. I was talking to my buddy here in
- 24:30the building, Steve Animal from our sister station, the plug for the all
- 24:36New ninety eight seven The Mountain. I was talking to him at an event
- 24:41yesterday and he asked him if he was going with us last night. There
- 24:44was an event in Huntington, the Broadcasting Hall of Fame last night. Well
- 24:48I didn't make it, so it wasn't me, but Stephen Jenny into first
- 24:53couple to ever, first team, first team ever. Yes, and also
- 24:59our boss got to give shouts with both Joe Parsons. But I did want
- 25:03to say this that I was talking to Steve yesterday. I said, you're
- 25:04going to make it down there. He says, no, I've got one
- 25:06meeting that goes until six point thirty and then I got to leave that meeting
- 25:10and go to another one. And that's just that's the kind of way.
- 25:12It's just kind of the way it happens. It's always been who is volunteering
- 25:17for these events. He should be committed. I'll say that for Steven.
- 25:19But all right, I gotta I gotta throw this out here. Walt,
- 25:22and I know that you've been asked about it and ask about it constantly,
- 25:26and I don't want to spend a whole lot of time on it, but
- 25:27I did want to get your opinion because people that know you know you're a
- 25:30sports guy. Your your big sports get played sports and big sports fan and
- 25:33whatever. Lots of talk in West Virginia boys this transfer role as it pertains
- 25:38to high school sports. Uh So it was passed by the legislature. You
- 25:45know, some were on board, some weren't. And now there are those
- 25:49that are saying this has been a just unmitigated disaster that we're having all these
- 25:55lopsided scores. There are other people that say, well, you know what,
- 26:00you should be able to send your kids to whatever school that you want,
- 26:03just like you could if they had a better ban program or better academics,
- 26:07or whatever the case may be. I know you've been hearing a lot
- 26:11from your constituents. Where are you on all this? I mean there's a
- 26:15little bit of both. I mean, because there's I mean I see it
- 26:18well as good and bad. Yeah, I mean I think there are good
- 26:21and bad to both points. But what say you? It's been well documented
- 26:26that I opposed House Bill twenty eight twenty. I have done multiple interviews and
- 26:33newspaper interviews to share my opinion. I've spoken out against and I'll continue to
- 26:44listen to my constituents and their concerns and thoughts and ideas. But at this
- 26:48point, as much as we've all discussed the issue, it's not started out
- 26:55very well. These scores are one actor. Injuries and safety are my biggest
- 27:04concern. You have ninth graders at one hundred and twenty five to one hundred
- 27:08and forty pounds playing against kids that are two fifty to two seventy five to
- 27:14eddy seniors. So it's hurting the fabric of community. It's stripping pride away
- 27:21from that community spirit on both sides. And I will continue to listen to
- 27:29my constituents. I'll continue to talk about the issue and hopefully make some changes
- 27:37to the bill, but at this time, I don't plan to elaborate or
- 27:41speak any more on the topic. Let's evaluate it, Let's gather some data
- 27:48and analysis after the school year football games four quarters. We've only gone through
- 27:52football seasons. We've gone through one quarter of a school year. There are
- 27:56a lot more sports and activities and band performances to occur throughout this school year,
- 28:03so I want to evaluate it after this full calendar year and see how
- 28:11it plays out. Hadn't started out too well. But I think at this
- 28:15time this will be the last I discussed it. And I appreciate the question.
- 28:21Thank you for bringing it to the forefront. I think it's on everybody's
- 28:23tip of their tongue. Yeah, thank you for asking. Yeah. And
- 28:26one other thing I will say about that and we'll move on, and that
- 28:30is that in the session next year, will it be what is your take
- 28:34on what it'll be brought up again? Because I've had some members particularly of
- 28:37the House of Delegates, Dana Ferrell being one of them. He's a regular
- 28:41on the show. Dana Delegate Ferrell has said this is we're bringing this up,
- 28:45We're talking about it. I had sitting or Ami Nicole Grady, good
- 28:48friend of yours, good friend of mine that was on the show. Senator
- 28:51Grady says, I'm not going to go anywhere. This is a work in
- 28:55progress that we're only as you said, we're very early into this. We
- 28:57are not even got into basketball season. Yeah, there are people that although
- 29:03you know, injuries can happen any of the sport, there's not generally as
- 29:07horrific injuries and basketball as what there's a football, but they say that's going
- 29:10to be an even bigger problem for basketball. It's an election year next year,
- 29:15so that has to be factored in. Sometimes. I know you're relatively
- 29:18new at this, but you've been around the process for a long time.
- 29:21Sometimes controversial things don't get brought up in election years because nobody wants to,
- 29:26you know, wants to weigh in on anything that could cost them their job.
- 29:30Do you look in your crystal ball. Do you think it'll be brought
- 29:33up in the legislature this year? Do you think it has a passive chance
- 29:37of being reversed or staying the same or I will leave the reversal issue in
- 29:45the hands for our elected officials that represent their district, and if their constituents
- 29:53have an issue with the bill or support the bill, then they should reach
- 29:59out to their elected official, the candidate. As you say, it's electioneer
- 30:03for me, I listen for me. I'm in my community. I hear
- 30:07what's going on. So will it be brought up? Delegate Ferrell and I
- 30:15have been behind the push. I believe it will do. I believe it
- 30:18will gain strength and be overturned. That's in the hands or the fingers of
- 30:26the elected officials when they push the green or red button. But to start
- 30:30the process, I believe a reasonable fella or gal would say, call your
- 30:36elected official and express your opinions so they can vote according to the people.
- 30:41That's what we're elected to exactly. Community right, and for the people that
- 30:45have been highly upset about this one side or the other. Yah, it's
- 30:48great to post it on Facebook, but that's not going to change anything.
- 30:52It's great to call me or text me, but it's not change anything with
- 30:56me. Contact your legislators one way or the other. There are people out
- 31:00there that say, hey, this is we love this. They talk about

- 31:26three areas that I like to focus on in life and outside of my religion
- 31:34beliefs, and my family and my community are the more specifics. I tie
- 31:41it down into the ICE mentality I ce I being infrastructure and technology, And
- 31:48as you know heard from Delegate Linvill yesterday about Starlink, I was on that
- 31:53committee that took the tour with those folks. We were on top of the
- 31:57Capitol beside the dome on a very hot day. How are you with heights
- 32:01and well, I fortunately didn't look over. I didn't need to look up
- 32:07either. Yeah, I was looking at this little disc that was automatically,
- 32:12pneumatically moving from side to sideun till it landed on the satellite that was above

- 32:23gonna make that investment. C being community through parks and recreation, our youth,
- 32:29our seniors, and the final E letter is for economic development tourism.
- 32:32I'll continue to fight and look for ways to find dollars to enhance our community
- 32:38in those three areas. So said about Walt Home, nobody's going out work

- 36:50twenty four hours or so ago, that's when we learned about this horrific story
- 36:53from the Sissonville area where two people are facing charges of gross child neglect after
- 36:59two kids found locked in a barn and another in a loft area of a
- 37:02home, all in terrible condition. Jeff, the pixel of the barn and
- 37:07the accused posted in the storywv Metro News dot com. What a horrible,
- 37:14horrible story, buddy, Yeah, I mean we're the criminal complaint has a
- 37:17good bit of information from the sixteen year old girl who talked to investigators who
- 37:27was locked in the shed and said that, you know, that's kind of
- 37:30a common thing, that they've been locked in the shed. And so the
- 37:35sheds described no running water, there was a kind of like a camp or
- 37:39potty in there, a table, maybe a couple of chairs. There's been
- 37:44no food or anything like that. And this said that she said that they
- 37:47had been fed earlier that day. And then our Catherine Skelton went out and
- 37:54talked to a neighbor who, you know, one of the neighbors had called
- 38:00in uh to police and had reported that, you know, maybe they want
- 38:05to check this out, and that's how police got on it. Uh.
- 38:07And so the neighbor said, you'll you'll see the kids, uh doing a
- 38:10lot of chores, uh, farm type chores. Yeah, because they had
- 38:15a lot of animals. Yes, Catherine's notes, I mean we're not talking
- 38:19about dogars and cats, exotics some exotic animals. Yeah, exotic animals out
- 38:22there. And uh. The neighbors said that this couple moved in not too
- 38:30long ago and uh, and that they're from Washington. And we were able
- 38:36to confirm that, uh that the license plate on the vehicle on a van
- 38:38out there, it did have the state of Washington. So we're trying to
- 38:42follow up today and Chris Lawrence is working on this just about you know,
- 38:46have there been other calls? You know, the neighbors said that CPS had
- 38:52been called a few times, uh, and there had been nothing had been
- 38:57at least as far as they know, there're no no check had been made.
- 39:00So again, these were adopted kids. So they have a total five
- 39:05kids that were adopted. There were three there and two in another location.
- 39:09So the two teenagers were in the shed and then the and then a third
- 39:17who was younger. They have like a like a log cabin out there,
- 39:22and there was a loft in that low cabin and that's where they found That's
- 39:25where they found the other child. This is an unbelievable story. I mean,
- 39:31you know, again, I was like a lot of people. I
- 39:35was here at the station yesterday listening to you know, I know, Chris
- 39:38and I think yourself were on hoppy a couple of times talking about this because
- 39:42it just broke about twenty four hours ago. Well, so what do we
- 39:44know about the adults in the story and how the heck well, I mean,
- 39:49there's so many unanswered questions, and you hate to speculate because things are
- 39:52going to come out. But you wonder, I mean, people don't just
- 39:54get this crazy overnight. You wonder how and the heck were they even allowed
- 39:59to adopt kids if they I mean, unless they just suddenly snapped. And
- 40:05Hobby brought up a good point yesterday. Hobby said, you wonder what goes
- 40:07through people's minds that makes them think this is okay that we can keep human
- 40:15beings, let alone teenagers in a barn in a shed. A barn is
- 40:21not even the best way to describe it. I think it was a shed
- 40:22more than anything, you know, more than anything else. But what do
- 40:27we know of anything about these about these people, Well, that's what you
- 40:30were trying to find out, right, you know more about them, and
- 40:34you know both both in their sixties, uh so, both older, and
- 40:37then from the criminal complaint, you know they they had come back. The
- 40:43way that you know police make contact with them is that they have come back
- 40:50to the property and the police were there and they started talking to them,
- 40:53and then they charged them. And one of them said that the kids like
- 40:58to be locked up in the shed. Unbelievable, they like it. That
- 41:02was the quote in the criminal complaint. Yeah, and so the police are
- 41:08called and that, as you said, the people I read it. I
- 41:12think of the story and against great story posting w as good as it can
- 41:15be, I guess, and considering a situation postingwv metronews dot com that they
- 41:17were fed at around like six in the morning. That was feeding time.
- 41:22Again, this is humans we're talking about in a barn, in a shed.
- 41:24Feeding time was about six o'clock in the morning. They'd been fed and
- 41:29then the adults, I guess left. What's really telling to me? And
- 41:34I don't want to get in this very early. It's easy for me to
- 41:36sit here on the side of the microphone or you to point fingers whatever.
- 41:37But neighbors are saying that CPS was contacted numerous times and that nothing was done.
- 41:44Now again, investigation continues. But if that is true, and we
- 41:50all know they're well documented, Jeff with the problems with CPS and a lack
- 41:52of workers. But if that is true, in my opinion, there needs
- 41:57to be criminal charges fouled against CP. Yes workers. If this is true,
- 42:00well we're gonna try it. That's what we're trying to chase down.
- 42:04Yeah, you know, and sometimes that's quite honestly, not the most easiest
- 42:07thing to chase down. So we're we're trying to chase that down to see
- 42:10if in fact CPS was called or who was called? Uh and and you
- 42:17know the in the sheriff's departments also, I think looking into that very thing,
- 42:22uh, to see, you know, to see, you know,
- 42:24how extensive was this. I mean, what we know is you know,
- 42:30criminal already. I mean they've been charged, but was how long had this
- 42:35gone on? Right? You know, I had it gone on since they
- 42:38had you know, they had moved there, which the neighbor said was I
- 42:42think about five or six months or something like that. I had to go
- 42:45back and check the story for the exact details. But you know, well
- 42:50it could be could be one of those things. Once you you know,
- 42:53start peeling back the onion, you know, you find out even more information
- 43:00on this. Uh. The thing that I thought of, just what crosses
- 43:05your mind, was that case in California, now several years ago where now
- 43:08these were there, these were the adoptive children of this couple here in Kanawk
- 43:14County, but you remember the biological children of a couple that were just kind
- 43:17of held prisoner in their own home in the in the couple of girls eventually
- 43:23sneaked out and snuck out of the window or whatever, and they found but
- 43:29you know, according to the criminal complaint, according to deputies, these the
- 43:31children were now nourished, the hygiene was, you know, in bad shape
- 43:39as you would imagine it would be. Uh and you know, just all
- 43:44signs of alleged abuse here. And so that's what they've been charged with the
- 43:49lact So now where are the kids? Now? Do we know where the
- 43:50kids? CPS? So they're in custody, Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 43:53yeah, I mean they took them for you know, under and even Saul
- 43:57because I kind of proves the Canal Animal Shelter social media because I usually shared
- 44:02it on my Facebook page and Dave Allen Radio, I saw that there were
- 44:06a couple of the exotic animals. I guess worth the shelter. I guess
- 44:07they took them as well. I mean, I'm assuming it was the same
- 44:10one. You see animals like that. There's not that many of them running
- 44:14around. Jeff, A horrific story. I appreciate you and Chris and Kat
- 44:17and carrying the entire team working on it. I'm sure we'll have more throughout
- 44:20the day, on the website and on the air. Jeff, I appreciate
- 44:22it, man, thanks a lot. See thank you. It is nine

- 44:54appear because I'm sitting on the side of the microphone and I don't necessarily know
- 44:59all the details. Nobody he does at this point. But again in this
- 45:00investigation, as you have said, it's far from being over, and as
- 45:06I don't want to appeel like I'm piling on CPS with all the problems this
- 45:08organization has had, and again I'm not the fault lies with the with with
- 45:13these you know, these people, and I even even hesitate to call them
- 45:17people. The parents in this case he adopted parents. But this turns out
- 45:21to be true what the neighbors were saying that several of them had apparently contacted
- 45:27CPS with their concerns for these kids that were living in basically a hell on
- 45:32earth. I mean, I'm sorry, heads need to roll over this,
- 45:37and I'm calling for charge criminal charges if possible, not just against the parents,

- 47:45about accused and CPS workers of not doing their job. There are a lot
- 47:50of variables to go into these investigations. Awful easy to say they should have
- 47:52stopped this after the fact. That's very true, and I will own that
- 47:57and I will apologize for that. I guess you would just hear a store
- 48:00story like that. You know you just latched out because this story. I
- 48:01mean, you know when they say the CPS was called and nothing was done,
- 48:07that's very true, very good point made by the texture. We should
- 48:08not present company included, should not jump to conclusions because we don't know exactly
- 48:14what happened there. So I will dial that one back, but I will
- 48:17say that if if we found that there was negligence that had should roll.
- 48:22I'll put it that way. That's a big if so uh point well made
- 48:24by the texture Texas. Dave. You'll have to bring charges against the governor
- 48:29and the legislature then for gross criminal negligence after years of doing nothing to solve
- 48:34the CPS staffing problem. According to a texture Textas says, do they happen
- 48:37to know how long these parents and air quotes have had these children? Horrific
- 48:42to think how these how long these kids may have been treated like that?

- 49:15tenfoil hat wears. I actually read this online from a seeming a normal person
- 49:20that said this was all part of a much larger plan, and that you
- 49:22should not making this up now, that you should turn your phone off and
- 49:29take your kids out of school, that it was all related to COVID vaccinations
- 49:31and the wildfires in MAUI not making that up. I actually read that from
- 49:36somebody. Just know that's not true. It's not related to the COVID vaccines.
- 49:42It's a test that they do every few years, a national test.
- 49:45Two twenty or so. This afternoon, your cell phone's going to get an
- 49:47alert. Uh and uh so there you go. Let's go to the phones.
- 49:52Jim, you're on five IDEA live. Go ahead. Hello, how
- 49:55you doing well? There's my friend. I was starting to get a little
- 49:58bit worried. Man. Well, there's been some ups and downs, but
- 50:05I had some surgery and everything is looking up all right. Well, that's
- 50:10good. What's on your mind? Well, there was a second incident in
- 50:15the Sissonville area about neglect of small children. And the sources tell me that
- 50:23the Jenner Landing apartment, which is next to the spark plug factory, there
- 50:31was a baby that was found outside there. I guess you would say one
- 50:40of those bouncy type seas yea. And the lady picked up the baby and
- 50:47she thought about just taking the baby to her apartment and calling the deputies.
- 50:53But sources say that there was a two arrests out there. Okay, so
- 51:01it's bad, you know, on a systemlee community, but it's just sad
- 51:07that it happened in the same areas. All right, Jim, I appreciate
- 51:12your call. Thank you very much. We will look into that. Text
- 51:15says, going back to the Faith and Freedom interview at it earlier. Why
- 51:17does the Faith and Freedom Coalition support and adjudicated sex abuser talking about Trump?
- 51:22I suppose, And the texture goes on to say, I get all my
- 51:25advice on sex abuse from a group that gives a platform to a sex abuser.
- 51:29Faith and Freedom Coalition is a scam. I don't, I mean,
- 51:31I don't know who if they it's it's not what I was here to talk
- 51:36about, not what Mark was here to talk about. But all right,
- 51:40a couple of quick notes from the website. I am quickly running out of
- 51:44time here. Of course, the Kevin McCarthy thing is unbelievable, that this
- 51:47is happening, you know, with a few times, I mean just I
- 51:51don't even know what to say about the whole Kevin McCarthy thing, other than
- 51:53to read a text I got earlier that says I still can't believe Gates and
- 51:58his posse joined in with the Democrats to take down a Republican leader. Unreal
- 52:04Republican Party. Gonna have to get this ship in order or it's going down
- 52:07in flames real quick. All Right, we gotta go. Coming up on
- 52:12the show tomorrow, there is a new film out called Impossible Town. We're
- 52:15going to talk to the folks from that. Also, the people behind the
