- 0:00Speaker 1: My god, we're in four k. It's one more Thing.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm rare Michelangelo story for the One More Thing podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Before we get to that though, and I realize this
- 0:12Speaker 2: is distasteful and people are going to groan.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:16Speaker 2: And I didn't do it on the show. I did
- 0:17Speaker 2: on the podcast, but I was just in the restroom.
- 0:20Speaker 2: There's somebody in there that needs to be rushed to
- 0:22Speaker 2: the hospital. Oh okay, I mean an ambulance should take them.
- 0:30Speaker 4: What did you eat a dead raccoon?
- 0:33Speaker 2: What is going on with you?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Dude?
- 0:35Speaker 2: I almost wanted to say over the little transom thing
- 0:37Speaker 2: or whatever. Hey, sir, you are right dial n good Lord.
- 0:45Speaker 2: In case you don't know, this ain't right. This ain't normal.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I've been around a long time. I've been in a
- 0:51Speaker 2: lot of situations. This is not normal.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Just stick your head and say that you're roll intoday. Ah,
- 1:01Speaker 4: here's a question for you. If I pass on my comment,
- 1:07Speaker 4: will we just move on?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:10Speaker 4: I will pass.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Okay, So what do your four K comment? Michael Angelo?
- 1:14Speaker 2: What was that all about?
- 1:15Speaker 1: I had a cataract surgery last week on my right eye.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And could you explain what that is? Because I had
- 1:20Speaker 2: I heard people talk about cataracts my life. I'd hear
- 1:23Speaker 2: it through my hola. I had no idea what it was.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's basically a large gray cloud that clouds your vision,
- 1:30Speaker 1: but you don't realize it until it's removed. And so
- 1:33Speaker 1: I've been seeing all of you like in standard definition.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Basically is the way I would describe it. Very I
- 1:39Speaker 1: didn't realize I had a film over my eye.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you and I have this in common because I
- 1:44Speaker 2: got lens replacement surgery in mine was to improve my eyesight,
- 1:47Speaker 2: but I also had cataracts and didn't know what and
- 1:50Speaker 2: they described it to me to actually show pictures. It's
- 1:52Speaker 2: like putting a drop of milk on your lens. It
- 1:56Speaker 2: just kind of makes it milky, and like it happens
- 1:58Speaker 2: little by little.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Over your life.
- 2:00Speaker 2: You don't notice it. But it's why I was always saying, God,
- 2:03Speaker 2: I can't see anything. Could somebody flip on a light
- 2:04Speaker 2: and my kids would be like, Dad, it's plenty bright
- 2:06Speaker 2: in here, because it makes everything right. That's why I
- 2:09Speaker 2: never wore sunglasses. I just never ever wore sunglasses. Now
- 2:13Speaker 2: I can't hardly step out of the building without Ah,
- 2:16Speaker 2: it's so bright. I never wore sunglasses. I didn't need him.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I had built in sunglasses and you're probably having the
- 2:21Speaker 2: same experience. Yeah, it's just the colors are so vivid.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's like a whole new world.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I've only got one eye done, so I'm gonna get
- 2:28Speaker 1: the other one done, and it's just, you know, it's
- 2:30Speaker 1: unbelievable how I'm seeing people, how I'm seeing it's like
- 2:34Speaker 1: just mind blowing.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Well that's great, it's fabulous, and I've heard that it's
- 2:38Speaker 4: just remarkably safe, effective and non horrible these days.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, the prepping is what takes a long time. The
- 2:46Speaker 1: operation was like ten minutes.
- 2:47Speaker 2: It's funny they shaved him for some reason.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I've was wondering about that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: That's actually what the doctor told me when I got lends.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Replacement is like going from uh from HD to four
- 3:01Speaker 2: K and that is very similar. When I was at
- 3:04Speaker 2: Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs game, I really noticed with
- 3:06Speaker 2: my eyes because my new lenses, just looking at the
- 3:09Speaker 2: stadium in the bright red and all the colors that
- 3:12Speaker 2: I just wasn't seeing. So yeah, it's pretty cool. Good
- 3:16Speaker 2: for you can should you flat out see better? Oh?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, this, like I said, this is just one eye.
- 3:22Speaker 1: The other it's weird because if I look out my
- 3:24Speaker 1: right eye, it's h you know, it's like four K
- 3:26Speaker 1: or whatever. But if I close it, then everything's like,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you know, Gray, we.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Ought to talk about this on the air at some point.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I have a friend who is he's got a lung
- 3:37Speaker 4: infection deal going on and it's really really hard to
- 3:42Speaker 4: clear up, and it's life threatening, and so he's on
- 3:44Speaker 4: these incredibly powerful drugs that have now started to rob
- 3:47Speaker 4: him of his vision. And so he's got this unholy,
- 3:52Speaker 4: you know, decision to make, and you know, all right,
- 3:55Speaker 4: do I keep going with these drugs? And it's terrible
- 3:58Speaker 4: and serious. But he's a physician. And the one thing
- 4:00Speaker 4: he said that was so interesting, he's and he named
- 4:03Speaker 4: several lung conditions his and then there's the San Joaquin
- 4:10Speaker 4: Valley something or other that I remember like a decade ago,
- 4:15Speaker 4: that's not far from where the radio ranch is. It
- 4:19Speaker 4: was a very very rare lung condition that you'd get
- 4:23Speaker 4: in certain farm work and that sort of thing. And
- 4:25Speaker 4: he said that one, that one, and another one that
- 4:28Speaker 4: you never saw or you'd see once every six months.
- 4:31Speaker 4: He said, we're seeing him every single month now, and
- 4:34Speaker 4: he thinks it has a lot to do with what
- 4:37Speaker 4: COVID nineteen did to people's immune systems. And he also
- 4:41Speaker 4: thinks that rings quite tunefully, quite in tune with the
- 4:47Speaker 4: idea that, yeah, those spike proteins in the design of
- 4:51Speaker 4: the thing are not of God, they are of man,
- 4:54Speaker 4: and they were designed to be extravrulent and nasty, which
- 4:58Speaker 4: is a hell of a deal. So coming to a
- 5:02Speaker 4: hospital near you.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I think whenever I heard about cataracts, always thought about
- 5:07Speaker 2: it being really really old people. You're not a really
- 5:09Speaker 2: what are you seventy two?
- 5:10Speaker 1: I'll be fifty in April. But that's what they told me,
- 5:13Speaker 1: is they said, you know, you're healing really well because
- 5:15Speaker 1: you're so young.
- 5:16Speaker 2: But how long have your your eyes probably been this way?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Did they say that?
- 5:20Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I'm thinking that I haven't seen this way in like
- 5:23Speaker 1: twenty years.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so well, And so people who get cataracts in
- 5:26Speaker 2: like their twenties certainly thirties and forties. So that's I mean,
- 5:30Speaker 2: that's one thing we got to start looking at, is
- 5:32Speaker 2: it happens a lot earlier than you think. It's not
- 5:34Speaker 2: just for grandma and grandpa. You know.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I did want to play a prank though, when I
- 5:37Speaker 1: was there, I wanted to come out. My wife, you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: she had to guide me around. She wouldn't let me
- 5:41Speaker 1: do it. But I had dark sunglasses on, and so
- 5:45Speaker 1: she's leading me through the waiting room and it's packed
- 5:47Speaker 1: full of people. I told her, I said, oh, on
- 5:50Speaker 1: so badly to have a white cane and say, I
- 5:53Speaker 1: told you we shouldn't have come.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Here and just walk out the door. That's the waiting room.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Just clear out, wait until they do your other eye.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I was twenty thirty when I came here.
- 6:08Speaker 1: And the other thing was they make you spill out
- 6:10Speaker 1: all these medical forms and they you know, they have
- 6:12Speaker 1: to put you under I mean as far as giving
- 6:14Speaker 1: you anesthesia and stuff. And they asked, is there somebody
- 6:16Speaker 1: that you don't want to know that you're under anesthesia?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Which is kind of funny, and so you know, like
- 6:23Speaker 1: some people mention a family member or whatever. I thought,
- 6:25Speaker 1: you know what, how funny it would be if I
- 6:27Speaker 1: put Bill Cosby down.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Oh the comedy stylings of Mike Langelo, Well that you
- 6:37Speaker 4: don't want to know?
- 6:39Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I've never heard that.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Yeah, my arch enemy. Please don't tell them, that's weird.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Don't tell Devin, who'some the lighter side of eye surgery.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Thank you very Michael Ian. I'm glad you can see that.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I am too.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So another topic that came up during the radio show.
- 6:53Speaker 2: We had never heard this term before. Katie brought us the.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah feeders. Before I do that, I have to ask
- 7:04Speaker 3: you a favor. Don't describe anything as milky ever. Again,
- 7:07Speaker 3: that sent me a weird I got a weird chill.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I don't know you said said something about.
- 7:11Speaker 2: It, now that you mention it, so milk.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Some people it's moist.
- 7:17Speaker 3: No, that's on the list too, But for some I
- 7:19Speaker 3: and I've never had this issue before. I don't know
- 7:21Speaker 3: that it's ever come to my attention. But when you
- 7:23Speaker 3: said it right there, I went, oh God.
- 7:25Speaker 2: There are gross words. That's a gross word. Yeah, milky,
- 7:29Speaker 2: milky Other than milky. You don't want anything milk, anything milky?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Now anyway, what's a feeder?
- 7:34Speaker 5: So the backstory on this.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Somehow my Instagram algorithm decided that I needed to know
- 7:40Speaker 3: about this and what what a feederism is. It's a
- 7:44Speaker 3: fetish where you have a couple and one of them
- 7:48Speaker 3: feeds the other and encourages their weight gain and and
- 7:52Speaker 3: this is this is a big they're they're saying it's
- 7:56Speaker 3: an underground fetish.
- 7:57Speaker 5: It's not. There's nothing underground about it. It's everywhere now.
- 8:00Speaker 3: But these women in particular are getting up into the
- 8:04Speaker 3: five hundred and six hundred pound range.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And their boyfriend or husband or whatever is feeding them
- 8:10Speaker 2: to encourage them.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Well, there's that element of it. Or they're feeding themselves
- 8:15Speaker 3: because they're online audience. Because they film themselves gorging on
- 8:21Speaker 3: any fast food. You can imagine the online the comments are, oh,
- 8:25Speaker 3: you look great, keep eating.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It's sick, it's you know, gross, you know what's interesting.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So this is like an extreme example to help prove
- 8:36Speaker 2: a point for the other stuff. This would explain why
- 8:38Speaker 2: some people go down the road they go politically or whatever.
- 8:41Speaker 2: If you start getting likes and encouragement from people. I
- 8:44Speaker 2: mean cause, if you're going to eat yourself into five
- 8:46Speaker 2: hundred pounds and you know, on early death and being
- 8:48Speaker 2: miserable all the time, you certainly would be willing to,
- 8:52Speaker 2: you know, encourage certain aspects of your politics because you're
- 8:57Speaker 2: getting likes or encouragement and popular. It's just like being
- 9:00Speaker 2: one of the popular kids. That's maybe that's what's driving
- 9:04Speaker 2: all our problems in America. People are more susceptible to
- 9:07Speaker 2: likes and encouragement online than we even realized.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think if you're hoping for likes and
- 9:13Speaker 4: encouragement from your family, your friends, the people who live
- 9:17Speaker 4: with you in your town, the people you see at
- 9:19Speaker 4: church or associate with and whatever, that is going to
- 9:21Speaker 4: guide you in a certain direction. But if you just
- 9:24Speaker 4: venture onto the internet and see what you can get.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Yeah, And it was the other interesting thing.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I hopped over to TikTok to look because everybody, if you,
- 9:32Speaker 3: if you look at their what's called a link tree,
- 9:34Speaker 3: now they've got Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and it's all of
- 9:37Speaker 3: their platforms. Right, Yeah, it's because all of everybody's got
- 9:43Speaker 3: a profile on everything. Now. Sure, So I went from
- 9:46Speaker 3: this particular feeders whose page popped up on my Instagram
- 9:49Speaker 3: and I wo jumped over to TikTok. Now on TikTok,
- 9:52Speaker 3: the encouragement is through the roof. On Instagram, there was
- 9:57Speaker 3: a lot of hate like this is unhealthy, you shouldn't
- 10:00Speaker 3: be promoting obesity, you shouldn't be doing this, that and
- 10:02Speaker 3: the other.
- 10:03Speaker 5: But if you go over to TikTok, it was your
- 10:04Speaker 5: beautiful keep it up. Wow, Oh my gosh, I'd love
- 10:07Speaker 5: to feed you.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So the Chinese Communist Party algorithm includes if this is
- 10:12Speaker 2: bad for people in America, encourage it. Yeah, I'll bet
- 10:16Speaker 2: that's what it is.
- 10:18Speaker 4: It would be as simple as that. Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 2: If your husband is feeding you like with a fork,
- 10:25Speaker 2: encouraging you to be five hundred pounds, he's trying to
- 10:27Speaker 2: kill you. Yes, that's what he's doing.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Yep.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Oh, but they're making money, They're making money because of it.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Wow, that is an interesting insight into the power of
- 10:37Speaker 2: peer pressure. I guess you'd call it, or I don't
- 10:39Speaker 2: even know what you call it, neediness wanting to belong
- 10:42Speaker 2: part of Maslow's hierarchy, needs the need to belong. But wow,
- 10:46Speaker 2: that takes it to an extreme.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Lef Yeah, and it definitely falls into the mental health
- 10:51Speaker 3: thing too, because if you watch some of these videos,
- 10:53Speaker 3: it's just there's something wrong.
- 10:57Speaker 5: You know, Yeah, clearly big time.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I was reading something over the weekend I was planning
- 11:01Speaker 2: to get on the air about social contagions, how they
- 11:04Speaker 2: are a real thing and giving examples through the years,
- 11:06Speaker 2: and they were they were using currently the whole trans thing.
- 11:09Speaker 2: It's a social contagion, and it's just it's like a
- 11:13Speaker 2: man calling trans a disease is going to get me
- 11:15Speaker 2: into trouble, But a contagion is a contagent, and it
- 11:18Speaker 2: just spreads that way. And they use the example through
- 11:20Speaker 2: the years of anorexia and school shootings and a variety
- 11:25Speaker 2: of things. They just catch on and one of the
- 11:27Speaker 2: feeder thing is just a social contagion.
- 11:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it is not. It's not a good Wow. I
- 11:34Speaker 5: don't and I don't know why.
- 11:35Speaker 3: All of a sudden, I just went to my Explore
- 11:37Speaker 3: page and it was like nineteen of these videos.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Why can't I did somebody prank you that? Dear?
- 11:46Speaker 5: I don't, I don't. I don't get it.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Why can't I fall prey to the social contagion of
- 11:51Speaker 2: like eating well and exercising regularly and getting plenty of sleep.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I don't want to do it, but all the cool
- 11:56Speaker 2: people are doing it, and I just can't stop. Why
- 11:58Speaker 2: doesn't that happen to me?
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm reminded of a discussion on
- 12:03Speaker 4: the show about a certain political subculture, and you know,
- 12:08Speaker 4: I pointed out if a tenth of a percent, a
- 12:11Speaker 4: tenth of one percent of people are into it, that's
- 12:14Speaker 4: three hundred and forty thousand on the internet constantly tweeting
- 12:18Speaker 4: about how it's clearly true and a great idea and
- 12:20Speaker 4: blah blah blah. That's a lot of mass since we
- 12:25Speaker 4: all take in, you know, every single corner of the
- 12:27Speaker 4: world is our inputs, which is incredibly unhealthy. In my opinion, I.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Think a thousand people would look alike a lot in
- 12:34Speaker 2: an online feed on Instagram or something like that. It
- 12:36Speaker 2: would seem like everybody's doing it. It could be a
- 12:38Speaker 2: thousand people. Weird man.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't like modernity. I want to go back.
- 12:46Speaker 1: It's nice to see you guys. Y'all look good.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Well, I guess that's it.
