Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / The DiCecco Daily: What To Expect From Saquon Barkley On Sunday Night
Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on, everybody? Welcome in to another episode
- 0:11Speaker 1: of DiCecco Daily. It's Andrew DiCecco, Eagles beat reporter for InsideTheBirds.com.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We have the final injury report, and it may surprise
- 0:21Speaker 1: you to learn that running back Saquon Barkley has no
- 0:25Speaker 1: injury status. He's still dealing with the hamstring in the back.
- 0:29Speaker 1: He was a limited participant practicing for the first time
- 0:33Speaker 1: on Friday, but he will give it a go. Sunday
- 0:37Speaker 1: night when the Eagles take on the Washington Commanders in Landover, Maryland.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And that is a little bit of a surprise, though.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Saquon is the ultimate competitor. He wants to go out
- 0:49Speaker 1: there and leave it all on the field. He said
- 0:51Speaker 1: if the injury happens, it happens. You only get, you know,
- 0:56Speaker 1: one day he won't be playing this game as the
- 0:58Speaker 1: way that he put it. And he doesn't want to
- 1:00Speaker 1: look back and wonder about what could be. And so
- 1:03Speaker 1: he's going to be out there. And if you've ever
- 1:06Speaker 1: questioned this week, the effort from the Eagles, if you
- 1:12Speaker 1: were among those who did look no further than what
- 1:15Speaker 1: you're getting from Saquon Barkley, who clearly is not a
- 1:19Speaker 1: hundred percent. You saw that on Monday night, he's going
- 1:22Speaker 1: out there to give everything that he can to this
- 1:26Speaker 1: team to best position them to win the game and
- 1:31Speaker 1: generate some semblance of consistency on offense and, and, I
- 1:36Speaker 1: don't know if he's going to be able to finish
- 1:37Speaker 1: this game, and I will say that the Eagles are
- 1:40Speaker 1: playing with fire at the running back position, but you
- 1:43Speaker 1: have to give credit to Saquon Barkley for going and
- 1:46Speaker 1: playing again, knowing that he's dealing with the hamstring in
- 1:50Speaker 1: the back and that it could potentially be aggravated further
- 1:54Speaker 1: by going out there. But he feels confident in going
- 1:59Speaker 1: out there, and I think the Eagles told you this
- 2:02Speaker 1: week that by their actions, that they expected Saquon to
- 2:06Speaker 1: be available for this game. Not having signed another running back,
- 2:09Speaker 1: which I still think is probably a little bit of
- 2:11Speaker 1: a gamble here. You only had injured Saquon. You have
- 2:18Speaker 1: Elijah Mitchell on the practice squad, and they signed Jaden
- 2:21Speaker 1: Blue to the 53-man roster. Now, let's break this down.
- 2:26Speaker 1: because let's say that Saquon is not able to finish
- 2:29Speaker 1: the game or something is aggravated and they have to
- 2:32Speaker 1: scale it back maybe. Well, then you'd be turning the
- 2:35Speaker 1: backfield over to Elijah Mitchell, who also has a very
- 2:39Speaker 1: lengthy injury history. He was productive for the 49ers for
- 2:43Speaker 1: a while there for a three-year span when he had
- 2:46Speaker 1: to step in, but he does have a pretty long
- 2:50Speaker 1: list of injuries that he's dealt with in his career.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Then you have Jaden Blue, who had 38 carries as
- 2:55Speaker 1: a rookie last season, but not a lot of experience there.
- 3:00Speaker 1: And when it comes to pass protection, he still is
- 3:04Speaker 1: a work in progress there. He's a fast guy, but
- 3:07Speaker 1: he's also not the biggest guy in the world. And
- 3:11Speaker 1: when the Eagles signed him to the 53 ahead of
- 3:13Speaker 1: the Panthers game, they didn't even give him any touches,
- 3:16Speaker 1: even when it was down to just Damian Pierce when
- 3:18Speaker 1: they lost Carson Steele. So... We'll see how this all
- 3:23Speaker 1: shakes out. I am surprised that the Eagles didn't at
- 3:26Speaker 1: least sign a running back, another one, to the practice
- 3:29Speaker 1: squad just to have it for insurance because it is
- 3:32Speaker 1: a gamble going into this game with this group. And... Obviously,
- 3:38Speaker 1: Saquon is going to get his touches. They're going to
- 3:40Speaker 1: get him some work early, I would imagine. See what
- 3:43Speaker 1: you get from him. He was very productive on Monday
- 3:47Speaker 1: Night Football against the Cowboys, and we'll see if that's
- 3:50Speaker 1: able to continue on against the Cowboys. Washington defense that
- 3:54Speaker 1: frankly I don't think is all that good so I
- 3:57Speaker 1: would imagine that if the Eagles offensive line shows up
- 4:00Speaker 1: like they did against the Cowboys on Monday Night Football
- 4:03Speaker 1: they should be able to generate some production in the
- 4:06Speaker 1: ground game and we'll see how Elijah Mitchell and Jaden
- 4:09Speaker 1: Blue fit in but I do think that Elijah Mitchell
- 4:12Speaker 1: will be a part of this game plan and if
- 4:15Speaker 1: you're not going to overload and I'm just this is
- 4:19Speaker 1: just me wondering if there are gonna you know maybe
- 4:22Speaker 1: pull it back a little bit with Saquon and not
- 4:24Speaker 1: overload him with with carries well the next logical option
- 4:29Speaker 1: would be Mitchell who has been a primary ball carrier
- 4:33Speaker 1: before now it's been quite some time since he's had
- 4:37Speaker 1: double digit carries in a season now you'd have to
- 4:40Speaker 1: go back to week 18 of 2023 where I think
- 4:43Speaker 1: he had 14 carries but he has done it before
- 4:47Speaker 1: and he's a He has 330 carries in his career.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I talked to him this week. I wrote a story
- 4:55Speaker 1: about him on inside the birds.com. If you want to
- 4:57Speaker 1: learn more about him, uh, I talked to him a
- 5:01Speaker 1: couple of times this week, one for the interview and
- 5:03Speaker 1: the other, just, just talking, you know, just casually, but
- 5:07Speaker 1: he's someone who I have, um, a lot of familiarity with,
- 5:11Speaker 1: you know, watching him at Louisiana Lafayette. He was part
- 5:14Speaker 1: of a three headed backfield, uh, Ray Calais and they
- 5:18Speaker 1: had Trey Ragus and all three of those guys made
- 5:21Speaker 1: it to the NFL. But Elijah Mitchell has had the
- 5:24Speaker 1: best career of those three players. But that'll be interesting
- 5:28Speaker 1: to see how the backfield is determined, how they allocate
- 5:32Speaker 1: the snaps and the touches. But that will be certainly
- 5:35Speaker 1: something to monitor on Sunday night. And I will have
- 5:39Speaker 1: my eyes focused on Saquon Barkley, how he's looking, what
- 5:44Speaker 1: he's doing on the sideline to stay loose. I know
- 5:47Speaker 1: on Monday night he would ride the stationary bike and
- 5:50Speaker 1: things like that to stay loose. But it's a really
- 5:53Speaker 1: tricky spot for the Eagles. And again... If you're looking
- 5:59Speaker 1: for motivation, if you're looking for any sort of an
- 6:06Speaker 1: example as to maybe who's bought in or who's– look
- 6:14Speaker 1: at Saquon Barkley and– The Eagles, they believe it this
- 6:19Speaker 1: season that there's still a lot to play for, and
- 6:21Speaker 1: they're not ready to throw the towel in yet. And
- 6:24Speaker 1: Saquon is looking at every opportunity that he has a
- 6:27Speaker 1: chance to play, and he wants to go out there.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So that's the running back situation for now. No Jahad
- 6:33Speaker 1: Campbell in this game. He has been ruled out with
- 6:37Speaker 1: the hamstring quad, and that'll be interesting because that would
- 6:42Speaker 1: mean that Jeremiah Trotter Jr. would be the starter at linebacker,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and Jihad hasn't had the banner second season that one
- 6:52Speaker 1: would expect, and I thought he did some good things
- 6:55Speaker 1: as a rookie, but clearly looked to be maybe thinking
- 7:00Speaker 1: a little bit too much on the field. There were
- 7:02Speaker 1: some lapses that he's had, but you see the athleticism.
- 7:06Speaker 1: He's just got to be able to put it all together,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and I've been a big proponent of younger players improve.
- 7:11Speaker 1: They get better through reps, time on task. You can't
- 7:14Speaker 1: get better if you're not playing. And I think he's
- 7:17Speaker 1: kind of learning and working through some of those challenges,
- 7:20Speaker 1: but they will not have him when they play on
- 7:24Speaker 1: Sunday night. So Trotter Jr., and I'm sure those of
- 7:28Speaker 1: you who have watched him over the years are familiar
- 7:31Speaker 1: with his game, but if you're not, he's a very
- 7:33Speaker 1: instinctual player. He reads and diagnoses plays. He is probably
- 7:38Speaker 1: better against the run. He's a more fundamentally sound and
- 7:41Speaker 1: disciplined player at this stage of his career than that
- 7:44Speaker 1: of Jihad Campbell. but he also doesn't have the athleticism
- 7:49Speaker 1: or some of the coverage acumen that Jihad brings, or
- 7:52Speaker 1: even the upside. But to be an effective, reliable player
- 7:56Speaker 1: for Vic Fangio at the linebacker position, if you look
- 7:59Speaker 1: back on a lot of the players who have played
- 8:01Speaker 1: that position for him over the years, a lot of
- 8:04Speaker 1: them sort of embody some of the same intangibles and
- 8:08Speaker 1: qualities that Jeremiah Trotter Jr. has. So this is another
- 8:11Speaker 1: opportunity for Trot Jr. to go out there and kind
- 8:16Speaker 1: of maybe put his stamp on this as the Eagles
- 8:19Speaker 1: have been in a bit of a rotation here with
- 8:21Speaker 1: both players. So I think this is another really good
- 8:23Speaker 1: opportunity for Trotter Jr. to go out there. And he
- 8:27Speaker 1: is a Simon sound. He's rarely caught out of position.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And I think in a defense that's kind of in
- 8:32Speaker 1: flux right now, they're reeling coming off that game on
- 8:34Speaker 1: a short week. It is kind of a, I guess
- 8:39Speaker 1: a luxury to have somebody like that there that you
- 8:43Speaker 1: can fall back on and you know what you're going
- 8:45Speaker 1: to get from them. You're not going to have Britton
- 8:48Speaker 1: Covey or Jonathan Jones in this game. Britton Covey, of course,
- 8:52Speaker 1: is the Eagles punt returner and a very good one
- 8:55Speaker 1: as well. He's had a strong season and there's a
- 8:59Speaker 1: comfort level when you put him back there because one,
- 9:03Speaker 1: ball security is something that he has exemplified the importance
- 9:08Speaker 1: of over the years. It doesn't put the ball on
- 9:11Speaker 1: the ground, put it in harm's way. He's always thinking,
- 9:15Speaker 1: how can I maximize the yardage and put the offense
- 9:18Speaker 1: in the best position possible. So we've talked a lot
- 9:21Speaker 1: about hidden yards over the years, Britton and I, and
- 9:24Speaker 1: just his process, his thought process when it comes to
- 9:27Speaker 1: the return game. He's willing to put his own personal
- 9:31Speaker 1: stats aside if it means, you know, if I field
- 9:34Speaker 1: this and if I can get six yards, my average
- 9:37Speaker 1: isn't going to look great, but I'm going to help
- 9:39Speaker 1: the offense and put them in better position rather than
- 9:42Speaker 1: letting it bounce and avoiding it altogether. And there is
- 9:46Speaker 1: a lot more A lot more nuance to our conversations
- 9:51Speaker 1: over the years that goes into it, but his preparation
- 9:54Speaker 1: is second to none. And I think when he's out
- 9:57Speaker 1: there and he's talked about this, when he gets those
- 9:59Speaker 1: big hits and he absorbs it he said his his
- 10:03Speaker 1: biggest thing is i want to pop up right away
- 10:05Speaker 1: because nothing and i'm paraphrasing nothing is more demoralizing for
- 10:11Speaker 1: a player when they think they got you good they
- 10:13Speaker 1: think they gave you a good lick and you bounce
- 10:15Speaker 1: right back up He said– and I think that it
- 10:18Speaker 1: fires up teammates as well. When you see someone take
- 10:23Speaker 1: a pretty big shot, they get up and they hustle
- 10:27Speaker 1: off the field. And that's Britton's way of showing, yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you got a good one on me, but I'm still ticking.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I'm still going. You're going to have to get me
- 10:37Speaker 1: better next time. And that energy, I mean that– That toughness,
- 10:43Speaker 1: that resilience that he shows, I think really resonates with
- 10:46Speaker 1: the team. He's a very popular guy. And so not
- 10:49Speaker 1: having him on the field, what does that mean? Well,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you're probably going to have some combination and the Eagles
- 10:54Speaker 1: aren't going to tip their hand here. Makai Lemon, who
- 10:58Speaker 1: was the in-game answer when Britton left the game with
- 11:01Speaker 1: an injury. Now, Makai Lemon's taking on a much larger
- 11:05Speaker 1: role offensively.
- 11:06Speaker 2: So this hit me when I was doing work around
- 11:08Speaker 2: the house the other day and trying to open up
- 11:10Speaker 2: some boxes and cut some things that I can never
- 11:13Speaker 2: find the scissors or knives in my house.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And how great would it be if I.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Just had my own personal pocket knife that I had
- 11:20Speaker 2: on me all the time? And that's why I can't
- 11:23Speaker 2: wait to get my Benchmade knives. They've got this legendary
- 11:27Speaker 2: bug out knife. It's designed specifically as an everyday carry knife.

- 12:48Speaker 2: choose your own adventure. And that goes for your power bill, too.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Right now, across the U.S., Americans have the potential to
- 12:55Speaker 2: harness limitless, clean, affordable energy. We could be powering our hospitals,
- 12:59Speaker 2: our schools, our farms, and so much more.
- 13:02Speaker 1: In some places.
- 13:03Speaker 2: This abundant local power is already helping lower utility bills
- 13:07Speaker 2: and creating jobs. But depending on where you live, you
- 13:10Speaker 2: may not have the option to choose Limitless Energy for
- 13:13Speaker 2: your household. That has to change. We should all get
- 13:17Speaker 2: to choose the energy we pay for. Cheaper, cleaner, Limitless

- 13:29Speaker 1: For a rookie, I don't know if you necessarily want
- 13:32Speaker 1: to put him back there unless you have to. They
- 13:34Speaker 1: also have Elijah Moore, who repped at punt returner in
- 13:37Speaker 1: practice this week. He hasn't done it, but he is
- 13:40Speaker 1: a veteran. Then you have Cooper Dejean. Now, Cooper Dejean
- 13:44Speaker 1: plays about 100% of the defensive snaps. You already have
- 13:48Speaker 1: him playing nickelback and safety. He's juggling a lot right now.
- 13:52Speaker 1: To add something else to his plate, I'm not so
- 13:54Speaker 1: sure if the Eagles would want to do that. And
- 13:58Speaker 1: you also have the potential of a practice squad elevation.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And that would be Xavier Gibson, who played in some
- 14:04Speaker 1: games for the Eagles last season. And he has a
- 14:07Speaker 1: lot of history returning punts, many of which have been
- 14:10Speaker 1: with the New York Jets. If you remember, he was
- 14:12Speaker 1: a hard knock star when they ran that. I think
- 14:16Speaker 1: it was in the summer of 23. So he could
- 14:19Speaker 1: potentially be an option as well. Remember, elevations will be
- 14:22Speaker 1: at 4 p.m. on Saturday. We'll get more clarity there.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Jonathan Jones not playing in this game. He hasn't played
- 14:29Speaker 1: a ton this year. When Quinion Mitchell has come off
- 14:34Speaker 1: the field, It's been Jonathan Jones who has stepped in.
- 14:38Speaker 1: But I would also say keep an eye on Ja'Cory
- 14:40Speaker 1: and Bennett because he's listed as questionable. He's been a
- 14:43Speaker 1: full participant for a couple weeks now. He can help
- 14:47Speaker 1: you on special teams. He can play outside. And to me,
- 14:50Speaker 1: knowing that he was somebody that the Eagles acquired in
- 14:52Speaker 1: a trade and he has been a full participant, he
- 14:56Speaker 1: had the knee injury that he's been battling, that he
- 14:58Speaker 1: was battling. in training camp, and that's what sidelined him
- 15:01Speaker 1: early in the season. He's a player that it seems
- 15:04Speaker 1: like they might want to give an opportunity to. Now,
- 15:08Speaker 1: his 21-day practice window is narrowing, and they're going to
- 15:12Speaker 1: have to make a decision on him pretty soon. But
- 15:15Speaker 1: I look at, and this is a much larger topic
- 15:18Speaker 1: that I'm going to delve into right now, you have
- 15:22Speaker 1: Jonathan Jones, who's an older player dealing with an injury.
- 15:25Speaker 1: You also have someone on the who is a second-year player.
- 15:30Speaker 1: They draft him in the fifth round in 2025, but
- 15:34Speaker 1: the reality is that he's played 46 special team snaps
- 15:37Speaker 1: this season and three on defense. He's been active for
- 15:41Speaker 1: every game, but on Monday night, he was active but
- 15:43Speaker 1: did not play. Meanwhile, you have players like Ty Robinson
- 15:48Speaker 1: running down the field on kickoff. You have Elijah Mitchell
- 15:52Speaker 1: running down the field on kickoff, and they've been kind
- 15:54Speaker 1: of piecemealing it together. And for a reserve defensive back,
- 15:59Speaker 1: who's active to not be able to help on special
- 16:03Speaker 1: teams was a little curious to me and it raised
- 16:04Speaker 1: my eyebrows. So that's something that I'll be keeping an
- 16:08Speaker 1: eye on because I think, you know, on the other
- 16:10Speaker 1: side of the coin that you're Corian Bennett could help
- 16:13Speaker 1: on special teams at the bare minimum. So I think
- 16:16Speaker 1: that he's a player that I'm really curious to see
- 16:19Speaker 1: how the Eagles choose to play this. And yeah, He's
- 16:23Speaker 1: listed as questionable, but also not playing. And these two
- 16:27Speaker 1: are big names, Devontae Smith and Dontavian Wicks. So both
- 16:31Speaker 1: players are going to miss their second consecutive game. And
- 16:35Speaker 1: Devontae has been dealing with that hamstring for quite some time,
- 16:39Speaker 1: dating back to August 4th, the first time he popped
- 16:43Speaker 1: up with a hamstring injury back in training camp. And
- 16:45Speaker 1: he's tried to play through it to his credit. There's
- 16:47Speaker 1: a lot of players on this Eagles team that I
- 16:50Speaker 1: don't think get enough credit for battling through injuries. Devontae Smith,
- 16:54Speaker 1: Landon Dickerson, Cam Juergens when he was there, Saquon Barkley.
- 17:00Speaker 1: And that's only the first handful that come to mind.
- 17:03Speaker 1: There's others who I think are just tough as nails
- 17:06Speaker 1: and that should be recognized. But Devontae, probably for his
- 17:11Speaker 1: own benefit and the benefit of the Eagles as well,
- 17:14Speaker 1: probably should let that thing heal a little bit before
- 17:17Speaker 1: you get back, and you don't want to run the
- 17:19Speaker 1: risk of re-aggravating it, and then the setback takes more time.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think that's sort of a tricky situation there, but
- 17:26Speaker 1: they're not going to have their top receiver. They're also
- 17:29Speaker 1: not going to have their second top receiver as Dontavian
- 17:31Speaker 1: Wicks has the ankle injury, but I think Dontavian Wicks
- 17:37Speaker 1: has had a nice season when he's been out there.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I don't know that anyone could have expected the production
- 17:43Speaker 1: that he's been able to do because he hasn't been production.
- 17:48Speaker 1: He's been able to generate because he simply hasn't been
- 17:50Speaker 1: a focal point in the offense. He hasn't had to
- 17:52Speaker 1: undertake a prominent role. And while the passing game runs
- 17:56Speaker 1: through Devante Smith and Dallas Goddard, Dontavian Wicks has stepped
- 17:59Speaker 1: up when called upon and he's a bigger bodied guy,
- 18:02Speaker 1: good separator, all those things. And to not have those
- 18:06Speaker 1: two guys is certainly a blow for the Eagles, but
- 18:09Speaker 1: the Washington defense is susceptible and vulnerable enough that I
- 18:14Speaker 1: think They could be fine with Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper,
- 18:17Speaker 1: Elijah Moore, Hollywood Brown. Maybe, who knows, maybe you get
- 18:22Speaker 1: Eli Stowers a little bit of work offensively, a little
- 18:25Speaker 1: bit more involved in his second game. And I think
- 18:30Speaker 1: it's got to be an all-hands-on-deck approach when you're undermanned
- 18:33Speaker 1: like that. And that's why it's commendable, again, that Saquon
- 18:36Speaker 1: Barkley is going out there and battling for an undermanned
- 18:41Speaker 1: offensive unit. Yeah. That's the players who are not playing,
- 18:45Speaker 1: and I told you who was questionable. And that's kind
- 18:50Speaker 1: of the main stuff from the injury report. You're going
- 18:54Speaker 1: to get Nolan Smith back this week, which is huge.
- 18:57Speaker 1: And so the Eagles now have a full complement of
- 19:02Speaker 1: edge rushers. Nolan Smith, of course, sustained the concussion against
- 19:05Speaker 1: the Panthers, and he missed the previous game against the Cowboys.
- 19:08Speaker 1: But now you have Jonathan Grenard, J. Wilkes Hunt, Nolan Smith.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Arnold Abikady and A.J. Epinesa. So that to me, I mean,
- 19:17Speaker 1: you got to be able to take advantage of this
- 19:19Speaker 1: matchup because I look at Brandon Coleman, I look at
- 19:22Speaker 1: Josh Connerly, and I see a healthy group of pass
- 19:25Speaker 1: rushers that I would have to imagine want to get
- 19:28Speaker 1: that bad taste out of their mouth against the Cowboys
- 19:31Speaker 1: and go out there and do their part to help
- 19:35Speaker 1: the Eagles win this game. And I think you're going
- 19:37Speaker 1: to see a motivated defense. This is a A very
- 19:41Speaker 1: prideful group. I think that gets lost in all this.
- 19:45Speaker 1: This is a prideful group. Remember what happened on Monday night.
- 19:48Speaker 1: They gave up 38 points on Sunday. in a national
- 19:51Speaker 1: game with all of their peers watching. You don't think
- 19:54Speaker 1: that they want to get back out there as soon
- 19:56Speaker 1: as possible and flip the script and reestablish their dominant
- 20:04Speaker 1: tendencies because this season you haven't seen that. but they're,
- 20:08Speaker 1: you know, they're respectable play because this is a really
- 20:12Speaker 1: talented defense and they just did not play a good
- 20:14Speaker 1: game against the Cowboys. But there's been a lot of
- 20:17Speaker 1: accountability this week. Jordan Davis spoke on Friday and Jalen
- 20:20Speaker 1: Carter spoke earlier in the week. Rick Wolin spoke. So
- 20:25Speaker 1: all of those players, and you couple that with Vic Fangio,
- 20:28Speaker 1: he was really wearing that game. He wore that one.
- 20:31Speaker 1: And there's, there's been a lot of, you know, ownership
- 20:34Speaker 1: and accountability taken. And that's what you want to hear. That's,
- 20:37Speaker 1: what you want to hear, but you also have to
- 20:39Speaker 1: see it on the field. They have to be able
- 20:41Speaker 1: to deliver and walk the talk, as Nick Sirianni has said,
- 20:46Speaker 1: different points this week. So I am expecting to see
- 20:49Speaker 1: the Eagles up for this game. The messaging this week
- 20:53Speaker 1: has been, you know, maybe not as upbeat as it
- 20:57Speaker 1: has been, but I wouldn't call it despondent. And they
- 21:01Speaker 1: have a lot of leaders that they're going to have
- 21:03Speaker 1: to lean on in these trying times. And I look
- 21:05Speaker 1: at Saquon Barkley and Jordan Mailata specifically. I think Jordan
- 21:09Speaker 1: Davis is certainly capable of doing so. Zach Bond as well.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And let's not lose sight of the fact that just
- 21:15Speaker 1: because they may not be, you know, vocal leaders publicly
- 21:21Speaker 1: doesn't mean that they're not doing what they need to
- 21:24Speaker 1: do outside of the public eye. They have a lot
- 21:27Speaker 1: of players that I think are capable of doing so,
- 21:29Speaker 1: and Nick Sirianni named a number of them. And this
- 21:32Speaker 1: is another critical game for the Eagles. They can't afford
- 21:36Speaker 1: to let this game slip away. This is a good
- 21:38Speaker 1: opportunity for them to end this skid and get back
- 21:42Speaker 1: into the win calm, get back to Philadelphia at 3-5,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden you're able to maybe
- 21:49Speaker 1: generate some momentum, get another win, and all of a
- 21:51Speaker 1: sudden you've got the bye week, you get a healthy game,
- 21:54Speaker 1: That's just me looking at it, you know, objectively for one,
- 21:57Speaker 1: but also the opponents that they have coming up are
- 22:01Speaker 1: not world beaters by any stretch. If the Eagles play
- 22:04Speaker 1: their game, if their offense continues what they were able
- 22:07Speaker 1: to do, you saw a glimpse of it against the Cowboys.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And that was the first time we saw it this year.
- 22:13Speaker 1: So I need to see a little bit more of
- 22:14Speaker 1: it before I'm fully bought in.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Parking, traffic, long lines.
- 22:22Speaker 2: We've all been there. But when it comes to your cannabis,
- 22:25Speaker 2: Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is the dispensary for

- 23:03Speaker 2: to the community with specials for fans students service members
- 23:07Speaker 2: and health care pros camden apothecary top quality cannabis great
- 23:12Speaker 2: prices and an experience made for philly fans 21 but
- 23:15Speaker 2: and up.
- 23:16Speaker 1: You can see The vision that Sean Mannion has, I
- 23:20Speaker 1: think as Tanner McKee takes yet another start, you're going
- 23:24Speaker 1: to see them sort of crafted a little bit more
- 23:26Speaker 1: around him, what he's comfortable with, what he can really
- 23:28Speaker 1: do well, and try to get this thing rolling and
- 23:31Speaker 1: make the best of the players that you're working with.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I think the offensive line with Landon Dickerson and Drew
- 23:36Speaker 1: Kendall back in the mix is going to help fortify
- 23:40Speaker 1: things up there and allow players room to run, but
- 23:43Speaker 1: also allow Tanner McKee some time to facilitate the football
- 23:47Speaker 1: to his players. And then it just comes down to
- 23:49Speaker 1: the defense. I think if the offense can be competent
- 23:53Speaker 1: and at least show signs of life, kind of like
- 23:56Speaker 1: they did against Dallas, that this defense is talented enough
- 24:00Speaker 1: that they should be able to replicate their performances from
- 24:06Speaker 1: every game except the bears game and the Cowboys game. And,
- 24:10Speaker 1: and really, I think this is where talent is going
- 24:12Speaker 1: to win out, but I don't have any question about one,
- 24:15Speaker 1: two or, or will or anything like that, but they
- 24:18Speaker 1: have to go out there and they, and, and, and
- 24:20Speaker 1: prove it because it's still really early in the season,
- 24:23Speaker 1: but they need to go out there and, and leave
- 24:26Speaker 1: no doubt as they say, when they face this team,
- 24:29Speaker 1: because as I mentioned, this commander's team, they're reeling. The
- 24:33Speaker 1: Eagles are also reeling to be fair, but, the Eagles
- 24:36Speaker 1: are the more talented team going in. We'll see if
- 24:38Speaker 1: it all, you know, we'll see if that counts for
- 24:40Speaker 1: anything come Sunday evening, but that's kind of my weekly
- 24:45Speaker 1: wrap up here. As we start to look forward to
- 24:48Speaker 1: Eagles commander Sunday night, kickoff slated for, I believe it's
- 24:52Speaker 1: eight 20. That'll do it for this episode of the
- 24:56Speaker 1: Checo daily. I'm Andrew to Checo and I'll catch you
- 24:59Speaker 1: all on the next one.
