- 0:06Speaker 1: Drama, Darling Drama, Darling.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Drama, Darling.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, Hello, welcome in Happy Below, Deck Down Under Day,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and like, it's the first one we've done. Emily's here, Hi,
- 0:32Speaker 1: AM's hello.
- 0:34Speaker 3: We've got three episodes.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Remember when we were watching The Real Housewives of
- 0:39Speaker 1: Salt Lake City during this massive undertaking of these like
- 0:44Speaker 1: two different shows filming on this at the same time
- 0:47Speaker 1: in the same place, and we were like, this is insane.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And then you're like, yep, and we're going to see
- 0:54Speaker 1: it over and over and over and over again. And
- 0:58Speaker 1: you know what part of me was like, well, probably
- 1:00Speaker 1: won't even see it for a couple more months, but
- 1:03Speaker 1: it's here already, which kind of is surprising to me.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And then we are gonna watch the Beverly Hills Housewives
- 1:10Speaker 3: watching the watch o Deck Salt Lake City at the episode,
- 1:15Speaker 3: and then we're gonna watch Beverly Hills watching because you guys,
- 1:23Speaker 3: there's a new show.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's on BravoTV dot com. It's called Mirror. They're watching
- 1:29Speaker 1: them watch this, and we talk about it. We're watching
- 1:39Speaker 1: them watch this, filming them, filming them while they film this.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Seriously, go pitch that and just watch everybody be like,
- 1:50Speaker 3: what the fuck? Yeah, our whole hour just.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe maybe maybe also people would be
- 1:58Speaker 1: so fascinated because, like you said, it's kind of that
- 2:01Speaker 1: that clown mirror where it just keeps going and going
- 2:04Speaker 1: and going.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I mean I do kind of want to
- 2:08Speaker 3: watch them, watch the watch.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Whatever you do is going to have.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Hurdles, and it's going to have a lot of things
- 2:18Speaker 1: to say about how a misogynous I was in this episode.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I can't wait to get into it. I'm triggered, you guys,
- 2:29Speaker 1: so trigger and welcome in hi, okay, jumping to the
- 2:35Speaker 1: end because I love to do that. So I was like, really, really, really,
- 2:42Speaker 1: you know, I'm always a little triggered. I'm sure a
- 2:44Speaker 1: lot of people are who have waited tables, have worked
- 2:47Speaker 1: in restaurants with very moody ships. And I say moody
- 2:52Speaker 1: in quotes because it's like, is it that they're just
- 2:54Speaker 1: moody or is it that they're actually verbally and emotionally
- 2:58Speaker 1: abusive an go with THEE.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I think it's part of the training and fucked up loophole.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Of yes exactly. It's like, it's okay, right, so so
- 3:12Speaker 1: here we are, and I'm like, this is so bad.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I hate this. And I've always really liked Chef Ben
- 3:17Speaker 1: on that level of you know, he's a great temperamental
- 3:21Speaker 1: chef on all these below decks, right and and of
- 3:25Speaker 1: course he's endeared himself to us and to me. I
- 3:28Speaker 1: can only speak for me over the years, but you
- 3:31Speaker 1: know this, really I appreciated this episode on these this
- 3:34Speaker 1: these first three episodes with Alicia and and her being
- 3:39Speaker 1: the Soux chef with him, so, you know, with her
- 3:43Speaker 1: really kind of like sticking up for herself in the
- 3:46Speaker 1: end and then moving on and really basically like she
- 3:50Speaker 1: went down to the galley, she's the one who put
- 3:52Speaker 1: her hand out to shake his hand, to which he
- 3:55Speaker 1: handed her a towel. I think he knew full well
- 3:59Speaker 1: she was trying to shake his hand, but you know,
- 4:01Speaker 1: that's the dick he is. So and he was like,
- 4:06Speaker 1: you know, I want to be friends. I hope we're friends.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Hope we're cool, blah blah blah. Right, Well, now with uh,
- 4:13Speaker 1: with Captain Jason and every opportunity that he could, with
- 4:18Speaker 1: the meeting with Alicia maybe twice as well as in
- 4:22Speaker 1: the preference sheet meeting with other people without her being
- 4:25Speaker 1: there was just wish she could have stuck it out.
- 4:29Speaker 1: You know, she's gonna she's gonna have to learn a
- 4:31Speaker 1: lesson some time, you know, And I'm like, stick it out, okay.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So this is like that old timey language of you know,
- 4:39Speaker 1: making it okay for people to be in a position
- 4:43Speaker 1: where they're actually uncomfortable and where one person is at fault.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's not necessary to talk to a co worker that way,
- 4:52Speaker 1: regardless of how little you know what you're doing. It
- 4:56Speaker 1: was such a disaster waiting happen, Like there was no
- 5:01Speaker 1: way that that was gonna go well, period dot, with
- 5:04Speaker 1: her not knowing anything about how to cook. So there's that.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But like, I'm so glad she stuck to her guns
- 5:10Speaker 1: and left. And so here I am very triggered about
- 5:13Speaker 1: all this. Right, But then we see Ellie right, and
- 5:18Speaker 1: we see previews of what's to come, and her Slovenian
- 5:22Speaker 1: ass is going to come in and slap some sasas
- 5:25Speaker 1: on Chef Ben and I am here for it and
- 5:27Speaker 1: I cannot wait. So when I was looking at the
- 5:32Speaker 1: cast list Emily, I was like, I was like, who
- 5:34Speaker 1: are these other people? Like, I don't know who these
- 5:35Speaker 1: deckhands are. This guy is a mustache. These two gals,
- 5:38Speaker 1: they both have long brown hair. One left like, I
- 5:42Speaker 1: don't know who these people are and run the third
- 5:44Speaker 1: charter right, And all I've been doing is just paying
- 5:47Speaker 1: attention to Daisy, Captain Jason, and the housewives and Chef
- 5:52Speaker 1: Ben and Alicia. So I went back and I was
- 5:54Speaker 1: looking at the Bravo TV cast and I was like, oh, am,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I on the wrong because I see Ellie and I'm like,
- 6:03Speaker 1: oh my god, they're bringing her in. And sure enough,
- 6:05Speaker 1: at the end of this third episode, here she is.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean I watched the after show and Ellie
- 6:14Speaker 3: say that she literally got the call on a connecting
- 6:18Speaker 3: flight as she's getting onto a connecting flight. Yeah, that
- 6:21Speaker 3: call from Captain Jason to be in the game.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Chef, Oh my gosh.
- 6:27Speaker 3: She really doesn't have any experience, and it's a I
- 6:31Speaker 3: also want to say, like, shout out to Zorena, who
- 6:34Speaker 3: made great use of Alicia's skills because Serena is a leader.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Thank you, Emily. I really wanted to mention that as well.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I want to highlight Zorena because it just goes to
- 6:47Speaker 1: show how difficult it must be in that situation, and
- 6:53Speaker 1: I certainly have no support for who put her in
- 6:58Speaker 1: that situation. I think that that was but she was good.
- 7:04Speaker 3: She was I mean, like I think Zorena met her
- 7:07Speaker 3: skill sets where they were. Something else on the after
- 7:10Speaker 3: show Ben mentioned is that like one thing in that
- 7:13Speaker 3: job is dishes, and she's awesome at dishes. So I
- 7:17Speaker 3: wonder if, like remember Serena had her on dishes and
- 7:20Speaker 3: crew dinner.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's right. She was very specific. Yes, and
- 7:25Speaker 1: then Ben, he could not shift the gears to fit.
- 7:30Speaker 1: You know how it's gonna work with her there, with
- 7:32Speaker 1: her not having the experience. Instead, as he said, I'm sorry,
- 7:36Speaker 1: like I'm treating you like a chef. I'm treating you
- 7:40Speaker 1: like you should know what you're doing, when in fact
- 7:43Speaker 1: she doesn't, and it's really not fair to him, and
- 7:47Speaker 1: it wasn't fair to Zerena. It's different, like I think
- 7:51Speaker 1: it's when you look at a crew, an interior crew
- 7:55Speaker 1: and an exterior crew and you guys, correct me if
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm wrong, But I feel like it's a lot more
- 8:03Speaker 1: intense and the stakes are higher in the kitchen having
- 8:06Speaker 1: only one person helping you when they don't know anything,
- 8:10Speaker 1: because you know, it moves so fast in there and
- 8:12Speaker 1: you're only one person. You don't have time to train
- 8:14Speaker 1: somebody really, like you could only do so much, so
- 8:18Speaker 1: like with an interior group, and you've got to, like
- 8:20Speaker 1: Daisy said.
- 8:21Speaker 4: She's got to train someone coming off, she's got to
- 8:23Speaker 4: settelin on who it's going to be.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Like, you have to figure out who you're gonna like
- 8:27Speaker 1: spend your time training. And it can't be everybody you
- 8:31Speaker 1: need the support of, like your lead deckhand or your
- 8:34Speaker 1: lead stew if you have one, you know, or first second,
- 8:38Speaker 1: second stu. I mean, but in the galley, you know,
- 8:42Speaker 1: it's just too difficult. Also, it seems a little bit
- 8:45Speaker 1: more dangerous. You know, you were like those muffins, you
- 8:49Speaker 1: know those are dangerous.
- 8:51Speaker 3: But that was like Zarina had no problem. Look, remember
- 8:55Speaker 3: there was a guy that was there before and he
- 8:58Speaker 3: was really shit. That was her sue chef. And then
- 9:01Speaker 3: Alicia came in or for something he was.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Because he was a no at all. He knew too
- 9:06Speaker 1: much right.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Well according to him, but then he didn't like her,
- 9:11Speaker 3: you know. Like so anyway, like I just feel like
- 9:14Speaker 3: Zorena made it look easy, breezy. There was no she
- 9:17Speaker 3: was grateful for Alicia like it or is it Alicia
- 9:21Speaker 3: or Alicia.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I should know it's Alicia, but but chef Ben I
- 9:25Speaker 1: think he calls her Alicia. Well she but we knew
- 9:29Speaker 1: it was hard for Zerena. We knew that she was
- 9:31Speaker 1: fighting her own demons with having to like she was
- 9:35Speaker 1: sucking it up and she was dealing with it. We
- 9:37Speaker 1: didn't see her outwardly being frustrated like with her.
- 9:41Speaker 3: That was also because Alicia was like into the same
- 9:45Speaker 3: guy that Zorena was into.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and then there was the friend thing, like
- 9:50Speaker 1: she was getting jealous of the friendship, like the lipstick
- 9:54Speaker 1: thing and yeah, right right, So that had its own issues.
- 9:58Speaker 3: But a lot going on.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Bet it's different dynamics. But in the kitchen, do you
- 10:02Speaker 1: think it's harder to train one person than like having
- 10:07Speaker 1: one person to train there's usually like one person who's
- 10:10Speaker 1: green on an interior and one person who's really green
- 10:13Speaker 1: on an exterior.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I just think to me, I
- 10:20Speaker 3: feel like interior is a lot of minutia that is
- 10:25Speaker 3: not gonna kill anybody, And on the deck, you got it,
- 10:29Speaker 3: that's different.
- 10:30Speaker 1: That's dangerous. Hurt somebody, Yeah, you can really hurt somebody,
- 10:33Speaker 1: but you're also not gonna put you know, you're not
- 10:35Speaker 1: gonna throw the greeny down into the the anchor locker
- 10:40Speaker 1: to like unspool the chain. You know, you're not gonna.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Have to, Like if there's a situation you want everybody
- 10:47Speaker 3: to know the at least the basics.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I feel, Yeah, but you're not gonna throw them in
- 10:51Speaker 1: there and say go and do this now without any instruction.
- 10:54Speaker 1: You're gonna be like, this is what I'm doing. Watch
- 10:56Speaker 1: for another time.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But like in the kitchen, you know, so the food
- 11:01Speaker 1: is really what makes the charter. That's where you're gonna
- 11:05Speaker 1: get Yeah, you know, it's a big portion of the tip.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I mean, all right, we all kind of agree on that.
- 11:10Speaker 1: So to have someone in there that's going to not
- 11:16Speaker 1: only not not only not really fully know what they're
- 11:20Speaker 1: doing and need a lot of help, but then to
- 11:24Speaker 1: actually do things wrong, so it sets you back, then
- 11:27Speaker 1: upsets the boss of the kitchen, and then everything's in
- 11:32Speaker 1: a kerfuffle. You're in a like a real pickle now.
- 11:36Speaker 1: But that's where I get really upset about Chef Ben
- 11:40Speaker 1: and his temper, you know what I mean, Like, should
- 11:43Speaker 1: he be expected to deal with that when he's hired
- 11:46Speaker 1: with somebody who's a sous chef that doesn't really know
- 11:48Speaker 1: what they're doing. Probably not, Like I think that's a
- 11:50Speaker 1: little bit tricky, or they should have figured something else out.
- 11:54Speaker 1: They set him and her up for disaster, and then
- 11:58Speaker 1: she's the one who gotalyzed for it. Emotionally, I'll say
- 12:04Speaker 1: it abused. And you know what, I don't think they
- 12:06Speaker 1: showed us all the footage of the how he treated her.
- 12:08Speaker 1: They no way did. There's no way. She was crying
- 12:12Speaker 1: so hard she was like, I can't even endure this anymore,
- 12:16Speaker 1: like she was, and I don't see her as somebody
- 12:19Speaker 1: who's embellishing the truth necessarily.
- 12:24Speaker 3: She was, No, I don't either. Yeah, I do think.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I do think in fairness to Ben, there was in
- 12:29Speaker 3: what we saw, and I just want to say, in
- 12:32Speaker 3: fairness to Ben, let's be fair to Ben. In fairness Ben, Ah,
- 12:38Speaker 3: I do think it felt like at one point I
- 12:40Speaker 3: was like, is he just putting this on for the
- 12:43Speaker 3: cameras to create drama? She is going to fully break dude,
- 12:47Speaker 3: knock it off, Like that's what I was thinking. But
- 12:49Speaker 3: I was like, maybe he's like cranking it up a notch.
- 12:51Speaker 3: But then it's just back to chef logic, where like Yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 3: this is how chef's so this is what I do.
- 12:58Speaker 1: No, that's who he really is. And I appreciate that
- 13:01Speaker 1: because you know, in terms of like you see people
- 13:04Speaker 1: for who they are when you're on a reality show
- 13:07Speaker 1: where you're working, because you can't really focus on acting
- 13:11Speaker 1: as much or creating a narrative for yourself as you
- 13:14Speaker 1: can on like The Housewives or something like that. You know,
- 13:18Speaker 1: it's I mean, it's I guess it's just it's more challenging,
- 13:20Speaker 1: That's what I'll say. It's just a little bit more challenging.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And so and we've seen Chef Ben like from years
- 13:26Speaker 1: and years ago. I mean, it's just how he is.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And that's how a lot of chefs are. Not all
- 13:31Speaker 1: of them, I mean those of you. We've got chefs
- 13:33Speaker 1: who listen to the show. Shout out chefs, you know,
- 13:37Speaker 1: but it is been normalized in that field of work
- 13:42Speaker 1: that well, like you get into the kitchen and you're
- 13:45Speaker 1: the chef, you're the head chef, and then you can
- 13:48Speaker 1: treat people like that. Then the people coming up are
- 13:53Speaker 1: trained in that environment. Then they take it upon themselves
- 13:58Speaker 1: to do that to the people under them, and it's
- 13:59Speaker 1: just a cycle. And so chefs, I call out to
- 14:02Speaker 1: you break the cycle. You can break the cycle?
- 14:05Speaker 3: Do some have? Kate Chesstain by the way, is on
- 14:08Speaker 3: the after show, which again like I just love that
- 14:10Speaker 3: she pops up on traders sometimes. And now she's on
- 14:13Speaker 3: the blow deck after show. Is she really.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Really?
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah? And so she is like co signing this behavior
- 14:22Speaker 3: with him. She's like, if you can't stand the heat,
- 14:25Speaker 3: get out of the kitchen. That's what chefs are. So
- 14:27Speaker 3: it is. Yeah, and especially I would think in yachting,
- 14:31Speaker 3: I would think that we're not that's going to be
- 14:34Speaker 3: the last rung of that world that's going to change.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Agree, see, and Kate is right, if you can't stand
- 14:41Speaker 1: the heat, and out of the kitchen, because that is
- 14:43Speaker 1: what it's like in there, and that's why people when
- 14:45Speaker 1: they get a taste of it, they don't stay in there,
- 14:48Speaker 1: which is why Alicia has now removed herself from that.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But I like that she's stuck up for herself. I
- 14:54Speaker 1: like that she not only did she keep trying to
- 14:57Speaker 1: give it a chance, she really continued to try to
- 15:01Speaker 1: make the best of it. And yeah, because of her.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Now here's the other thing. All right, let's shift into
- 15:09Speaker 1: chef Ben and the hot tub, Mary f kill Now,
- 15:14Speaker 1: that was wild.
- 15:15Speaker 3: That was weird. And and just going back to the
- 15:19Speaker 3: messaging with Captain Jason, it was coming off the heels
- 15:22Speaker 3: of Daisy weirdly floating, hugging, gliding on Ben's wet hot
- 15:28Speaker 3: tub body, soothing him. That was so fucking weird. But
- 15:33Speaker 3: in the get in the in the kitchen the next.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Day, I was so drunk I didn't even know I
- 15:37Speaker 1: was talking to.
- 15:40Speaker 3: She says to Jason that they aren't getting along, the
- 15:44Speaker 3: both of them, like they got into it last night,
- 15:46Speaker 3: the two of them, And I was like, hopefully we
- 15:49Speaker 3: didn't see the edit where what she actually said was
- 15:53Speaker 3: Ben like lost his mind on her in the hot tub,
- 15:58Speaker 3: because Dacy made it sound very mutual and yeah, it's
- 16:02Speaker 3: a game, and I did not understand. I mean, clearly
- 16:07Speaker 3: very drunk and tired. Ben was to take.
- 16:09Speaker 1: It to you triggered, you know. I appreciated the moment
- 16:13Speaker 1: to see that he's actually feeling something, to be honest
- 16:19Speaker 1: with you other than anger. Oh okay, that's what I'm yes. Yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 1: So when she said like, and I'd kill you, of
- 16:29Speaker 1: course she's going to kill him. So him being in
- 16:33Speaker 1: his drunken and tired state. All he heard was she
- 16:37Speaker 1: hates me and she wants to kill me. Well, guess
- 16:40Speaker 1: what she does kind of hate you because you're an
- 16:43Speaker 1: asshole and you're realizing that, aren't you right now? Then
- 16:47Speaker 1: it took a Mary f Kill moment for you to
- 16:50Speaker 1: actually look inward for a second, even though now you're
- 16:54Speaker 1: going to explode outwardly at her because you see it
- 16:57Speaker 1: as an attack, because it's all about out you. And
- 17:01Speaker 1: now you're paranoid because you know, you think that she's
- 17:06Speaker 1: not your comrade in the galley and you want her camaraderie,
- 17:10Speaker 1: and in fact, you're upset because your ex fiance was
- 17:14Speaker 1: cheating on you with your friend and you paid fifty
- 17:17Speaker 1: k for a wedding that you didn't you weren't able
- 17:20Speaker 1: to go through with. So his life is a complete
- 17:25Speaker 1: and utter disaster at this point. And it and it
- 17:30Speaker 1: took her little I would kill you in a game
- 17:34Speaker 1: for him to actually break down for a second because
- 17:39Speaker 1: she's actually standing up to him, and she's and has
- 17:43Speaker 1: been and has been and the fact that she got
- 17:46Speaker 1: out of the out of the hot tub and was
- 17:47Speaker 1: like camaraderie, do you have camaraderie for me? I was
- 17:52Speaker 1: so proud of her for like standing up to him
- 17:54Speaker 1: like that, and the fact that the next day she
- 17:57Speaker 1: was like, yeah, no, we're not. I'm not gonna move
- 18:00Speaker 1: forward with this. I've I've tried to give it a
- 18:02Speaker 1: go again because Captain Jason tried to give me a
- 18:04Speaker 1: little pep talk, but yeah, it's not gonna work.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I've met your sister. I've met her sister, her family,
- 18:12Speaker 3: I've met her. He must have said that. He's like, Okay, dude, He's.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Like, but he's like, I'm friends with everybody, Like and
- 18:20Speaker 1: then Ellie, you know all these people, He's like, you know,
- 18:22Speaker 1: Chef Ben, they're all friends. He's all hanging out with them. Yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 1: I get it. It's the Bravo World Chef Ben breaking
- 18:30Speaker 1: down because Daisy's like, I mean, she was just shitfaced.
- 18:35Speaker 1: She could she she swam over there and took her
- 18:39Speaker 1: like ten minutes. She's like, here's the thing.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Don't think LUs he was fucking serious and all serious slissness.
- 18:52Speaker 3: You don't talk to her about smoking a wet ass cigarette.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Oh my god. It was amazing. Hey, I got some
- 19:05Speaker 1: great darling support from Square. You're all in one business

- 27:51Speaker 1: was she hanging on him wet hanging on him? Yeah,
- 27:54Speaker 1: she would have drowned if she didn't. She was so
- 27:57Speaker 1: shit phased and like him, breaking down in that moment
- 28:03Speaker 1: was great. He needs to do that.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Thinking of her legs, trying to like not kick at
- 28:09Speaker 3: everybody but also kind of feeling for the bench. Yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 3: also a bench absolutely, Grace is dick accidentally.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Oh sorry, I thought that was a bench. I'm looking
- 28:26Speaker 4: for a jet hold on. I think my toes and
- 28:28Speaker 4: a jet right now, Oh, that's your dick and a jet.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Saw me about that, Ben. But you know, it's just
- 28:37Speaker 1: like this whole time that we've seen Ben and I
- 28:40Speaker 1: you know, I forget the past seasons that we've seen
- 28:43Speaker 1: him so many times. It's very rare that he's ever
- 28:46Speaker 1: opened up like that and like collapsed in a way.
- 28:49Speaker 1: And I appreciate that. And he has an anger problem,
- 28:55Speaker 1: and you know what a lot of people do. I'm
- 28:58Speaker 1: not saying just chefs, but like, it's nice that we
- 29:01Speaker 1: can see some sort of movement of the needle in
- 29:06Speaker 1: the world of like and I hate to be like
- 29:09Speaker 1: so gender specific, but I have to in the world
- 29:13Speaker 1: of women and men in the workplace. It's just, you know,
- 29:17Speaker 1: we've taken it a lot on the chin and imagine
- 29:21Speaker 1: what it was like, you know, back in the day. Emily,
- 29:24Speaker 1: you know, I'm talking even before working girl, you know
- 29:27Speaker 1: what I mean. I'm talking. Yeah, I'm talking, like, let
- 29:30Speaker 1: me get my stenol pad and transcribe what you're saying.
- 29:33Speaker 1: It's just we take it on the chin. It's nice
- 29:36Speaker 1: to see that it shouldn't be allowed. And I like
- 29:40Speaker 1: to see movement in the world. And I felt like
- 29:43Speaker 1: in some way, on some level on below deck down under,
- 29:51Speaker 1: we moved a tiny bit and I saw that Jason
- 29:54Speaker 1: is a fucking misogynist. And I did not like that.
- 29:56Speaker 1: And I did not like that.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Whatever you do is going to have heard.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I have to wonder what messaging he was getting
- 30:06Speaker 3: from Ben.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Like he does does he know, like what's really going
- 30:11Speaker 1: on is what you're saying?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Right?
- 30:13Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I feel like he's hot enough that when he watches this,
- 30:18Speaker 3: he'll agree with us and then he'll be fine.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Yeah he watched You mean, when he's watching us watch
- 30:28Speaker 1: the episode while watch.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Watching them, watch watch it happen, and watch.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Watch it happen live while they're watching them.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, exactly.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Well, it's just like he kept driving as I'm sorry.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I don't mean to cut you off. I don't want
- 30:49Speaker 1: you to be like, but you meant to Ben or anything,
- 30:51Speaker 1: but one last time I did, I gave you a
- 30:54Speaker 1: heads up. But you know, it's just that, like there
- 30:57Speaker 1: were so many times that Jason and kept saying, like
- 31:02Speaker 1: in the galley and then again in the preference sheet meeting,
- 31:06Speaker 1: and again in his confessional, and again in his confessional.
- 31:10Speaker 1: You know, you know sometimes in life, whatever.
- 31:13Speaker 2: You do is going to have hurdles.
- 31:15Speaker 1: And it's just not this, you know, it's just not this.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But and I think what you might say, and I
- 31:23Speaker 1: am gonna put words in your mouth. But like you know,
- 31:28Speaker 1: he might be being told a different story from producers,
- 31:32Speaker 1: or he might not have the whole story, and so
- 31:35Speaker 1: like what narrative was laid out for him to where
- 31:39Speaker 1: he had to explain himself and kind of be like
- 31:44Speaker 1: the captain and not allow somebody to just quit or
- 31:48Speaker 1: give a pep talk and say, okay, fine, but you
- 31:51Speaker 1: really need to stick it out next time. But in
- 31:53Speaker 1: the meantime, we're gonna move you over here because I
- 31:55Speaker 1: like you.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I think it was just like I
- 32:01Speaker 3: think in Captain Jason's or any of these captains, once
- 32:04Speaker 3: they have done this a number of times, nine times
- 32:06Speaker 3: out of ten, it is a problem that both sides
- 32:10Speaker 3: are having. It's not one sided, but in this situation,
- 32:13Speaker 3: it was Ben. I will give it to Sandy if
- 32:17Speaker 3: it's if it's something where she is like wanting you
- 32:20Speaker 3: to lead, she will put it more on you. And
- 32:23Speaker 3: I think Sandy would have sided more with Ben needing
- 32:27Speaker 3: to step up and be a better leader. And that's
- 32:30Speaker 3: what I think is a little frustrating with Jason because we.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Didn't talked to Ben. He didn't even talk to him.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Well, he did remember in the galley when they were
- 32:39Speaker 3: doing the preference sheet meeting and Ben was like laughing
- 32:43Speaker 3: and being like, oh, yeah, you know, maybe.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was after he Alisa had gone to him.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Yeah. Absolutely, It wasn't even like it was it was
- 32:53Speaker 3: barely anything. But like Jason, I wish would have Captain
- 32:58Speaker 3: Jason would have just said, hey, this wasn't a problem before,
- 33:03Speaker 3: why is it a problem now?
- 33:05Speaker 1: And also, like I think getting Chef been on this
- 33:08Speaker 1: season is a big deal because we haven't seen him
- 33:11Speaker 1: in a long time, and like it's nostalgic. He's like
- 33:15Speaker 1: a you know, an og chef on this franchise and
- 33:18Speaker 1: we love to see that. I was so thrilled. I
- 33:23Speaker 1: shouldn't expect that he would be any different, and why
- 33:27Speaker 1: should I? But again, I really enjoy seeing the movement here,
- 33:32Speaker 1: and that's what I'll say. And now moving into Ellie's
- 33:35Speaker 1: like the Ellie era, and I'm sure, like I'm not
- 33:40Speaker 1: saying she's going to be one hundred percent right, but
- 33:42Speaker 1: I am going to be so here for her being like,
- 33:45Speaker 1: don't call me Darling, my name is Ellie Laminastria, you know,
- 33:49Speaker 1: like whatever, I am so here for that and I'm excited.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Do you think that with the tal check at the
- 33:59Speaker 3: when she came in, do you think that Ben was
- 34:01Speaker 3: on the brink of tears and was.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Just like, oh, yeah, do you know what I mean? Like, yeah,
- 34:07Speaker 1: she had made see what you mean?
- 34:10Speaker 3: Not that it's okay, I'm just saying like I think
- 34:13Speaker 3: that he was like I can't get any human touch
- 34:17Speaker 3: right now because I will break like not now.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I completely agree with you, Emily, And you know, yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 1: because when I was explaining it during this Drama Darling
- 34:30Speaker 1: episode not too long ago, time code was fifteen sixteen. Okay,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I'm like so mad that I'm only going to see
- 34:40Speaker 1: I'm only going to try and paint him in one
- 34:42Speaker 1: way at least during this episode right now, because I
- 34:45Speaker 1: personally am triggered because I've had so many experiences with
- 34:48Speaker 1: angry chefs, so I am coming from a place of
- 34:52Speaker 1: like fuck you, fuck you, and I'm old enough now
- 34:55Speaker 1: where I wish I could go back and say those
- 34:58Speaker 1: things and stick up for myself more. But instead, the
- 35:02Speaker 1: way that I've coped in life is that I joke
- 35:04Speaker 1: and I try to be funny to dissolve the situation
- 35:09Speaker 1: of any uncomfort and anything that would force me to
- 35:14Speaker 1: stick up for myself. And actually I have a backbone
- 35:17Speaker 1: and say, you know, respectfully, don't talk to me that way,
- 35:22Speaker 1: or that I wouldn't even put up with that, not
- 35:24Speaker 1: even say that, but just be like all right and
- 35:27Speaker 1: I'm out of here.
- 35:28Speaker 4: No.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Instead, I make jokes so that people will like me.
- 35:33Speaker 1: So there were so many times that like in situations
- 35:37Speaker 1: and restaurants where these chefs are just running rampant and
- 35:42Speaker 1: I'm just like boing, you know, clown and around. And
- 35:47Speaker 1: now they like me, so they're not going to be
- 35:50Speaker 1: as hard on me as they are with other people,
- 35:53Speaker 1: you know what I mean, because I've now won them over.
- 35:56Speaker 1: But instead of being like I won't be treated like this,
- 36:00Speaker 1: I'll go find a job elsewhere I don't need to
- 36:02Speaker 1: be talked to like this, because you're not only getting
- 36:09Speaker 1: it from customers, because waiting tables is hard enough any
- 36:13Speaker 1: and not just tables whatever. When you're dealing with people,
- 36:16Speaker 1: it's hard enough and it's a stressful situation. Then you
- 36:18Speaker 1: got to go back into a kitchen where dragons are
- 36:22Speaker 1: firing me. Yeah, volatility, But wait, what was I saying
- 36:27Speaker 1: before I digressed into my own personal trauma, which is
- 36:31Speaker 1: really not that big of a deal. By the way,
- 36:33Speaker 1: I'm not talking to my therapist about it. I talked
- 36:36Speaker 1: to you guys about it when I watch below deck.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the towel Emily, So yes, he told because
- 36:45Speaker 1: I'm looking at it from the view of like anger,
- 36:48Speaker 1: and I agree. If you look at his face, he
- 36:52Speaker 1: saw her coming. She was a little emotional. He saw
- 36:55Speaker 1: it and he was like, I am, I'm going to
- 36:58Speaker 1: breakdown right now, and I have yeah, any handed or
- 37:02Speaker 1: the towel. So you're right, that's exactly what it was.
- 37:04Speaker 1: That's exactly what it was.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I don't know if that if that reaction was right
- 37:08Speaker 3: or wrong. I'm just saying like that was the vibe.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I god, yeah, yeah, Now hold on a second, I
- 37:13Speaker 1: have to my glasses on. And I also want to
- 37:15Speaker 1: mention now this is not an official hashtag ad. But
- 37:18Speaker 1: have you seen these glasses on me?
- 37:21Speaker 3: Yes?
- 37:22Speaker 1: Okay, because I have a lot of readers, but these
- 37:26Speaker 1: are Warbi Parkers. These are the new ones that I got.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Oh cool, they're actual glasses.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Prescription Well, no, they are readers. Like when you go
- 37:36Speaker 1: to the Warby Parker website, you don't have to get
- 37:39Speaker 1: prescription if you don't need prescription, so but you can
- 37:43Speaker 1: get readers at whatever reader level you're at. Yeah, anyway,
- 37:48Speaker 1: I do ads for Warby Parker, but I haven't talked
- 37:50Speaker 1: about it since I've been wearing them. And you guys,
- 37:53Speaker 1: it's the code is drama.
- 37:55Speaker 3: And I will say exclusively wear Warby Parker. And one
- 38:00Speaker 3: fun thing I learned, yeah, because it's I go get
- 38:04Speaker 3: my prescription at Costco and then I take it and
- 38:07Speaker 3: get it at Warby. It's a great deal.
- 38:11Speaker 1: That love that about you.
- 38:13Speaker 3: But what I do is like you can get their
- 38:15Speaker 3: sunglasses made also as glasses, and they have. At the
- 38:20Speaker 3: last time, I was like, I wish these sunglasses were eyeglasses,
- 38:24Speaker 3: and then my wish came true. So here we are.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Wait, so the sunglasses that you wanted are now regular eyeglasses.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Whatever the frames are on the movie site or there.
- 38:38Speaker 3: If you look and you're looking at the sunglasses and
- 38:40Speaker 3: you're like, man, those would actually that's the actual eyeglass.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I would you can also do that.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I didn't know that. I didn't even look at their sunglasses.
- 38:49Speaker 1: But one thing I had a freaking blast doing is
- 38:52Speaker 1: that when you go to their website, you can you know,
- 38:54Speaker 1: you can do virtual tryons in different places like you
- 38:57Speaker 1: do virtual whatever, but it's so easy there. I probably
- 39:00Speaker 1: try it on like every pair of glass because you
- 39:03Speaker 1: don't even have to click on to those set that
- 39:06Speaker 1: that pair of glasses in order to do it. You
- 39:08Speaker 1: scroll down and then you go. It's like virtual try on,
- 39:11Speaker 1: boom there on your face. You go the next, boom
- 39:13Speaker 1: there on your face. I freaking love that. Anyway, I
- 39:16Speaker 1: had not talked about it, and I think it's a
- 39:19Speaker 1: great glasses brand. So I have a code now and
- 39:24Speaker 1: it's Drama and I think it's twenty percent off.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Well, it sounds like it's time for me to go
- 39:29Speaker 3: get my prescription updated at Costco on your bucks and
- 39:34Speaker 3: then glasses at warby Parker.
- 39:36Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about the gals, and I'm talking
- 39:38Speaker 1: about the housewives.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Yes, that's what I'm doing.
- 39:42Speaker 4: Yes, I'm not fucking talking about Daisy.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Did anything like stick out to you that we didn't
- 39:50Speaker 3: already see.
- 39:53Speaker 1: I know, I'm trying to think, was there anything of
- 39:56Speaker 1: like we'll say, yeah, yeah, what did you think?
- 40:00Speaker 3: I think, like Brittany, I forgot how annoying that was
- 40:05Speaker 3: when she was talking through Jason's yoga newly angry.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I would be so annoyed.
- 40:15Speaker 3: It was not cool. I also forgot that the unicorn
- 40:18Speaker 3: being thrown in the water was all kinds of finable offenses.
- 40:22Speaker 3: I remember we knew that, oh yeah, but seeing it
- 40:26Speaker 3: on the other end where they were aware of it
- 40:28Speaker 3: going over the side and like quickly going for it,
- 40:31Speaker 3: I kind of wish that they would have been fined. Also,
- 40:37Speaker 3: the tip. I wanted to know the.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Tip, delighted to see that it was like one of
- 40:42Speaker 1: the biggest of all time. And then I'm kind of like,
- 40:44Speaker 1: well is it because you know, Bravo was involved with
- 40:48Speaker 1: financing part of it, so then they all were able
- 40:51Speaker 1: to put a little bit more money into it than
- 40:53Speaker 1: they maybe normally would have.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Good.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I was really I was so thrilled they needed
- 40:59Speaker 1: to can you imagine and if they didn't have like
- 41:01Speaker 1: an amazing tip.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and also like I'm sure that Bravo gave X
- 41:07Speaker 3: put in money for that, but like absolutely good. I'm glad,
- 41:11Speaker 3: and you know, I do think that maybe to that point,
- 41:17Speaker 3: I don't. I always the economics of these these girls'
- 41:20Speaker 3: trips are always confusing to me in terms of who
- 41:23Speaker 3: pays for what, because I've heard so many different things.
- 41:27Speaker 3: But you know, there's part of me that's like, Okay, well,
- 41:29Speaker 3: if it's Heather's trip and she was giving a certain
- 41:31Speaker 3: amount of money, she could have spent that money on
- 41:33Speaker 3: other things. Didn't have to go to the tip.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah, she could have spent it on nipple covers.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Now when she did.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Actually because there was.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Floating around.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they're like jumping in the water to recover her
- 41:48Speaker 1: nipple covers left and right and right and left. What
- 41:54Speaker 1: Like by the way that Heather they did a good
- 41:58Speaker 1: job with knowing that that there needed to be drama
- 42:01Speaker 1: on the side of the crew, because Whitney really leaned
- 42:07Speaker 1: into it when they were at that lunch and then
- 42:10Speaker 1: and Heather, like I think having the lunch be moved
- 42:15Speaker 1: from you know, from outside to the saloon was definitely
- 42:22Speaker 1: like not necessary and they could have eaten outside, No
- 42:25Speaker 1: big deal. But I think Heather was like, Okay, let's
- 42:29Speaker 1: pop it up a notch to make a little more
- 42:32Speaker 1: drama and then having like take away some spaces and
- 42:37Speaker 1: serve the other ladies in their rooms, which was like
- 42:42Speaker 1: it sounded more like the people in the rooms wanted
- 42:45Speaker 1: that as opposed to Heather being like, m I'm gonna
- 42:50Speaker 1: do this my way.
- 42:53Speaker 3: Yeah, they already said they weren't going to be at lunch. Ryan,
- 42:57Speaker 3: Heather's like, all low that, thank you.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because when Brittany was brought her lunch, they're like,
- 43:06Speaker 1: what you don't want to go up there and be
- 43:08Speaker 1: a part of the group, And she's like, oh it's
- 43:11Speaker 1: complicated and ting tingting, I can't make any speeches right now.
- 43:15Speaker 1: So it's like they didn't want to go there. By
- 43:17Speaker 1: the way, No, we didn't see any other lunches delivered
- 43:20Speaker 1: to the ladies, did we No, Yeah, Lisa was probably
- 43:24Speaker 1: out on the barlow again.
- 43:28Speaker 3: By the way, we did get remember we were talking
- 43:31Speaker 3: about how that beach setup wasn't ready for them to arrive. Yes,
- 43:36Speaker 3: yes we did get clarity on that. That was good.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I know, I love that. And Daisy was like, this
- 43:41Speaker 1: is a mess. It's so embarrassing because that freaking anchor,
- 43:47Speaker 1: you know, that tangled ass chain you know, it just
- 43:50Speaker 1: gets them into trouble so often it's tricky. And when
- 43:54Speaker 1: Juau jumped into that little chain locker, yeah, guys, that's
- 44:00Speaker 1: a horror movie for me. I do not want to
- 44:03Speaker 1: do that. Ooh, terrifying. But oh yeah. So they're up
- 44:09Speaker 1: at the in the saloon and Whitney's like, when is
- 44:11Speaker 1: the food gun to be here? Boy? I am so hungry, Daisy,
- 44:17Speaker 1: I'm waiting. I'm so hungry. Boy, I'm getting mad. It's like,
- 44:22Speaker 1: you weren't mad, you were fine. They were just trying
- 44:25Speaker 1: to like put the heat on, which is so funny,
- 44:27Speaker 1: but it was stressful when Chef Ben was like, I
- 44:31Speaker 1: have to put this on the table family style, even
- 44:34Speaker 1: though they said they wanted it plated. Then Daisy takes
- 44:37Speaker 1: away the plates, then brings it up family style because
- 44:40Speaker 1: he wanted it his way, and then.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Yeah, chaos, It was chaos.
- 44:47Speaker 1: It was nobody was.
- 44:48Speaker 3: The difference is that nobody was actually mad.
- 44:51Speaker 1: No one was mad. Yeah, and I love that. I
- 44:54Speaker 1: love that for them. Yeah. And by the way, oh wait,
- 45:00Speaker 1: we did have a stew that went home because of
- 45:03Speaker 1: her grandfather being in the hospital. That happened at like
- 45:06Speaker 1: what episode one or something?
- 45:08Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty crazy.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that was sad. Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 3: The only thing I know about the gal Betoul the deckhand,
- 45:19Speaker 3: like she has barely been on but she's there. And
- 45:22Speaker 3: she had the most insane sunburn I've seen in a
- 45:25Speaker 3: minute on below deck, and I was like, what are
- 45:28Speaker 3: you doing those legs?
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yes, that was crazy.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Yes, especially like Captain Jason has skin cancer. M hm,
- 45:38Speaker 3: so what are you doing? Everybody? Come on now, remember
- 45:41Speaker 3: no super Goop sponsored and they'd have baskets of sunscreen everywhere.
- 45:44Speaker 1: But I need let's get back on that. Come on now,
- 45:49Speaker 1: we need to take care of our skin.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Especially if you're a deckhand.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Lord lord, Lord Lord not cool, not cool, Emily, it's
- 45:59Speaker 1: actually we don't like it. No, yeah, we don't like
- 46:02Speaker 1: that at all. Everyone get your skin checked. It's very important,
- 46:07Speaker 1: very important. Anyway.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Also say, even if it's foggy, where that sunscreen? Thank you?
- 46:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you're welcome, You're welcome.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Well. Angie like throwing up and then she was getting
- 46:21Speaker 1: our flowers from one of the deckhands about how she
- 46:24Speaker 1: was just like puking and taking it and puking it's
- 46:31Speaker 1: so and then her finger that was like the most.
- 46:36Speaker 1: If we were watching this and we did not know
- 46:38Speaker 1: the Housewives, we would be like, this is the craziest
- 46:40Speaker 1: shit we've ever seen. But because we know them, it
- 46:44Speaker 1: was like, that's just one day in the Housewives world, right.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Yeah, And Daisy was like, it's just like now in
- 46:51Speaker 3: the background, just the chaos, white noise.
- 47:00Speaker 1: By the way, I was I don't know how I
- 47:02Speaker 1: got on this wormhole of like anti nausea like solutions,
- 47:11Speaker 1: but there are you know how you have those wrist
- 47:13Speaker 1: bands that you put on the pressure point on your
- 47:14Speaker 1: wrist to help with nausea. Well, there's also like these watches.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sorry, they're wristbands, but they look like
- 47:22Speaker 1: watches and they actually are like electric. They zap your
- 47:27Speaker 1: they zap that area of your wrist. Do you know
- 47:29Speaker 1: what I'm talking about.
- 47:30Speaker 3: I know what you're talking about. I've never used them,
- 47:32Speaker 3: I've just seen them.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Okay, so I'm like I want to get one eventually.
- 47:36Speaker 1: They're expensive. They're like one hundred dollars at least. I'm sorry,
- 47:39Speaker 1: there's one four hundred dollars. I was looking on Amazon.
- 47:41Speaker 1: It's like forty there's one that's forty whatever, But apparently
- 47:45Speaker 1: they are really supposed to work really well with nausea
- 47:50Speaker 1: and yeah, and with just like morning, well, I shouldn't
- 47:55Speaker 1: speak to morning sickness because I don't know, like, please
- 47:58Speaker 1: don't listen to me on that, like talk to your doctor,
- 48:00Speaker 1: but like just.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Nausey, amy amy about it?
- 48:05Speaker 1: Listen to makes I have glasses on. It makes me
- 48:07Speaker 1: look smart.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Well, wait, can I ask a question to the darlings
- 48:11Speaker 3: because I am like, I.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Don't this side.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Okay, because Brittany had one of these those side sleeper pillows,
- 48:20Speaker 3: you know, like just because if you sleep on your side,
- 48:23Speaker 3: your face and I sleep on my side. I try
- 48:25Speaker 3: not to, but that's where I end up every day.
- 48:27Speaker 3: And she had one of those slide sleeper pillows. Are
- 48:31Speaker 3: they worth it? That's the end of my questions start.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Okay, that's a really good question. Yeah.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Expensive, they're like like a hundred, but I'm not I
- 48:42Speaker 3: am not going to commit to the top of the line.
- 48:46Speaker 3: I'm looking in your forty to forty dollars range.
- 48:51Speaker 1: You're never going to get it. By the way I
- 48:54Speaker 1: have them. This is going to be welcome to pillow talk.
- 49:00Speaker 1: I don't know what that was the only music that
- 49:02Speaker 1: I had available at the time. So, yeah, it's gonna
- 49:05Speaker 1: be a scary segment. Good question for you, Emily. So,
- 49:10Speaker 1: as all you may know, I am a stomach sleeper,
- 49:13Speaker 1: and it's it's like I'm stomach or side whatever, mostly stomach.
- 49:18Speaker 1: And the way that I put like my hands flat
- 49:20Speaker 1: underneath my thighs, I'm like literally sleeping like an arrow.
- 49:23Speaker 1: It's bizarre. And my head's cranked to the side and
- 49:27Speaker 1: I barely use my pillow, like the pillows at the
- 49:29Speaker 1: top of my head. Okay, yeah, Emily, Yeah, being shot
- 49:36Speaker 1: out of a what a canon? Yeah, that's exactly right.
- 49:42Speaker 3: Canon formation.
- 49:44Speaker 1: It's so weird. So I like found out that you know,
- 49:51Speaker 1: obviously it's not great every way you sleep. They're like,
- 49:54Speaker 1: it's not great to be a stomach sleeper. Oh, it's
- 49:57Speaker 1: really bad to be a side sleeper. If you sleep
- 49:59Speaker 1: on your back, you'll die.
- 50:01Speaker 2: You know.
- 50:02Speaker 1: It's like, well, how are we supposed to sleep hanging
- 50:04Speaker 1: upside down like a bat? Like, what are we supposed
- 50:07Speaker 1: to do? Can't just let us sleep? So anyway, I
- 50:11Speaker 1: tried to get one of those pillows that you're talking
- 50:14Speaker 1: about where has kind of like the indentation in the
- 50:17Speaker 1: middle for people who sleep on their stomach that want
- 50:19Speaker 1: to transition to sleeping on their side, and I hated
- 50:24Speaker 1: it doesn't work for me at all because I don't
- 50:30Speaker 1: use a pillow even much at all when I'm sleeping
- 50:33Speaker 1: on my stomach, So like it bothers me to even
- 50:36Speaker 1: use a pillow while I'm sleeping on my side, even
- 50:40Speaker 1: though it's it should be flattened anyway.
- 50:43Speaker 3: What if you took some of this stuffing out of
- 50:45Speaker 3: that pillow?
- 50:47Speaker 1: I'm listening, but what if it's like I think that's
- 50:49Speaker 1: what I'm to do, but it's like it's not feather,
- 50:52Speaker 1: it's not down, it's like hard material. Yeah, so you
- 50:56Speaker 1: can't take anything out of it?
- 50:58Speaker 3: Well not according to the thread I was on. You
- 51:01Speaker 3: can take half of you can take it out.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Oh really Like yeah, but this is on the Yeah,
- 51:08Speaker 1: I don't know, was it on pillow talk reddit thread?
- 51:12Speaker 1: Don't that's mine? That's my threat on your stomach the
- 51:17Speaker 1: waters behind you. And to take it further, these next
- 51:22Speaker 1: charter guests that are coming on to Below Deck down Under.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Should we be knowing that? Do we know these people?
- 51:29Speaker 1: Here's the thing? What are they doing? They're changing up
- 51:32Speaker 1: the format. Now we're doing confessionals in their homes. I
- 51:36Speaker 1: hate I don't need to know you that well.
- 51:41Speaker 3: I don't want.
- 51:42Speaker 1: It, however, I don't, however, because it's pillow talks. I
- 51:49Speaker 1: did enjoy hearing that she takes her down pillow everywhere
- 51:54Speaker 1: because she loves it so much, and that the last
- 51:57Speaker 1: charter they were on, since she left it a hotel,
- 52:02Speaker 1: they went back for it. Because here's the thing. So
- 52:06Speaker 1: Maddie's new room, like we had, we redid her whole room, right,
- 52:10Speaker 1: we painted it well, papered one wall, all new furniture,
- 52:15Speaker 1: new mattress like big times. This is all the furniture
- 52:18Speaker 1: that she's had in her room has been since she
- 52:20Speaker 1: was an infant, including her bed, which went from a
- 52:23Speaker 1: crib to an actual bed. How cool is that? So
- 52:27Speaker 1: big deal?
- 52:27Speaker 2: Right?
- 52:29Speaker 1: So when I went to look for a mattress, you
- 52:31Speaker 1: know where I went.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Hello, spare room, your guest room.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Emily is sleeping on her pillow right now. She is
- 52:42Speaker 1: tuned out to my story.
- 52:45Speaker 3: The Uh yeah, I'm sit sleeping. I don't know any
- 52:50Speaker 3: where did you go?
- 52:52Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 52:52Speaker 3: The last hotel that you were at? Oh yeah, actually
- 52:56Speaker 3: I think that is right? Is that right what it
- 53:01Speaker 3: was a hotel mattress not it was the brand? Do
- 53:03Speaker 3: you like from a hotel? Am I right on that?
- 53:05Speaker 3: Or is that somebody else?
- 53:06Speaker 1: And that is someone else?
- 53:08Speaker 3: Okay?
- 53:08Speaker 1: Okay, So I remembered from when I lived in Glendale
- 53:13Speaker 1: that on like brand, like that main strip where the
- 53:17Speaker 1: Americana brand is, like the Glendale Galleria. Oh, we're talking
- 53:21Speaker 1: mattress row, right, you know what I'm talking about? All
- 53:24Speaker 1: those mattress stores.
- 53:26Speaker 3: I know, I know there's one there.
- 53:29Speaker 1: There are several. Emily, there's brand.
- 53:31Speaker 3: I literally walk brand.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Hold on time, there's so it's not brand. Wait hold
- 53:36Speaker 1: on a second, it's either what's the other street that goes.
- 53:40Speaker 3: This is paralleting info for you Nebraska darlings out there.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Brand Avenue in Glendale, dear Amy and Emily. I live
- 53:49Speaker 3: in the middle of Nebraska, and even I know that
- 53:52Speaker 3: Brand Avenue in Glendale, California does not have mattress stores.
- 53:56Speaker 3: There's one in Attwater, but that is not.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Okay a second, So Mattress Star That's where I went,
- 54:06Speaker 1: and I'm looking it up right now because I want
- 54:08Speaker 1: to make sure I see what the address is. Okay, Oh,
- 54:12Speaker 1: Central Okay, Central Avenue, which is parallel to a brand. Okay, sure, sure,
- 54:19Speaker 1: so so what's so funny because guess what, Emily Brand
- 54:26Speaker 1: has an entrance to Americana Brand and Central.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Walk from my house.
- 54:33Speaker 1: The Americana and Central also has an entrance to Americana
- 54:38Speaker 1: at Brand including it's the entrance to the Galleria in Glendale.
- 54:47Speaker 3: I'm just really glad that I'm keeping everything on topic.
- 54:52Speaker 3: This is good.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Hold on, now, when you walk there, you are coming
- 54:59Speaker 1: from the South. You're not coming from North.
- 55:02Speaker 3: So now I don't know I'm coming from Well, oh,
- 55:06Speaker 3: I thought you knew.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I thought you knew exactly where you were and what
- 55:10Speaker 1: street was what? So you wouldn't pass the mattress stores
- 55:15Speaker 1: because the mattress stores aren't on East Brand nor East Central.
- 55:21Speaker 1: They are on North Central.
- 55:23Speaker 3: And also, yeah, I don't I don't know Nebraska darlings
- 55:31Speaker 3: correct me if I'm wrong.
- 55:34Speaker 1: They don't need to correct you because you are.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Well On my walk from silver Lake, I passed literally
- 55:40Speaker 3: one mattress store. Anyway, what happened You got a mattress
- 55:46Speaker 3: I missed.
- 55:47Speaker 1: You passed one? Is it near the Americana, No, it's
- 55:52Speaker 1: in Atwater Okay, all right, cool, So past Americana at
- 55:57Speaker 1: Brand and the Gallery, there are several mattress stores. So
- 56:04Speaker 1: I remembered that from when I lived there, and I
- 56:07Speaker 1: thought to myself, you know what, I have a dentist
- 56:10Speaker 1: appointment in Glendale. I'm gonna go get my teeth done.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Got them done. Went over to that, got them done.
- 56:20Speaker 3: You get a perm. They look great, something's different about
- 56:23Speaker 3: your teeth. You get a perm. They get a per.
- 56:26Speaker 1: They did cut and color and perm. And I said
- 56:30Speaker 1: to myself, I'm heading over which mattress place should I
- 56:34Speaker 1: go to? You know, because that's where I'm like, I
- 56:37Speaker 1: don't know what to do, and I don't know which
- 56:39Speaker 1: one to go to because I want to give a
- 56:40Speaker 1: small business my business support your local businesses. So I
- 56:48Speaker 1: picked one and I ticked right target Mattress Star.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Walked into Mattress Star and guess who was working there.
- 57:06Speaker 1: You don't know her. Her name is Lucy and Captain
- 57:11Speaker 1: Jason was working there anyway, So and it's a woman.
- 57:16Speaker 1: She is the owner. One love working with women small businesses.
- 57:23Speaker 1: She was great. She threw in a mattress cover. Then
- 57:28Speaker 1: she's like, do you need pillows? And I was like,
- 57:30Speaker 1: I think I do. I think I knew, do you
- 57:32Speaker 1: need pillows? Let me think about it, and she said,
- 57:34Speaker 1: because I can throw these two in for you. And
- 57:37Speaker 1: I felt them, and I was like, do you have
- 57:38Speaker 1: anything softer, because you know they're like you know, and
- 57:44Speaker 1: so she was like softer. I was like, what one
- 57:47Speaker 1: of my nuts, like, there's got to be a softer
- 57:50Speaker 1: pillar than these pillar and so so then she goes
- 57:53Speaker 1: and she gets one of these exclusive luxury like down pillows, right,
- 58:00Speaker 1: probably one that this lady had on the next charter.
- 58:04Speaker 1: That's where I'm going with this. And she showed it
- 58:07Speaker 1: to me and I go, oh, yeah, that's the one,
- 58:10Speaker 1: and she goes, okay, So I was going to throw
- 58:14Speaker 1: in these pillows for you, but I cannot throw in
- 58:18Speaker 1: this pillow for you because this is one hundred and
- 58:20Speaker 1: forty five dollars. But I can throw in those for you.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I was like, I'll take these the ones that are free,
- 58:26Speaker 1: but I gotta look into what it's like to have
- 58:29Speaker 1: a gorgeous, luxury down filled one hundred and almost fifty
- 58:34Speaker 1: dollars pillow. And I'm sure this woman who's on the
- 58:37Speaker 1: next charter her pillow was probably even more than that.
- 58:42Speaker 1: So that being said, uh, that's the end of pillow talk.
- 58:52Speaker 1: I can understand why they went back for it. Okay,
- 58:57Speaker 1: how are we doing on time? Gotta go? Oh, we're great.
- 58:59Speaker 3: I mean, if let's go back to the Central Brand conversation.
- 59:09Speaker 1: All right, Well, so the ladies fighting the way that
- 59:13Speaker 1: they were fighting, and Jason sitting with them during the
- 59:16Speaker 1: zombie dinner and like we got to see the other
- 59:18Speaker 1: side of it where Daisy saved like rescued him was hilarious.
- 59:23Speaker 1: It was really funny.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that was cool. And also just like how oblivious
- 59:28Speaker 3: they were to the all the I knew from their
- 59:31Speaker 3: side they were from the the Salt Lake episodes. They
- 59:35Speaker 3: were oblivious but actually seeing it and having below deck
- 59:39Speaker 3: crew working circles around them and it didn't even matter.
- 59:43Speaker 1: It's nuts. They are like they're like Olympians, I mean,
- 59:48Speaker 1: because you know, the Olympics aren't right now, so you're
- 59:50Speaker 1: watching you know, real Olympic housewives. Yeah, glasses are breaking.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Oh, by the way, speaking of glasses breaking, yes, very
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: fresh in all of our memories. Why in the hell
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: are they all sitting in that hot tub on crude
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: night glass wine bottles, glass wine glasses. I was like
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: losing my mind. Anyway.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: No, you're right, And you know what they do that
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: a lot with those bottles and stuff. They have bottles
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: in there all the time. Yeah, it is nuts. I'm like,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I guess they're just willing to risk it and they're
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: willing to, you know, clean up after themselves. I guess.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: But like that's I would think they'd have more rules
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: about that, especially the bowsa I'm wasted.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: It's bizarre Heather being like, own it, Lisa, You're the sauce.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: You're the sauce. Own it, Lisa, You're the source of
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: all the dirt. And then they're like on tears their dinners.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: They're just like and then Meredith losing her mind. She's like,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I'm not talking to running one and they're like, omelet
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: this is the chef's specialty. I mean it's just nuts, nuts, yeah.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: I And you look at that, and then you look
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: at the next guests that are coming that demand to
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: go back for a pillow, I mean, not this. But
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: then I'm like, each of these charters is so completely different.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: For Jason to introduce comment cards as how they can improve,
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I'm like, that seems like an impossible thing to figure
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: out in that way because yeah, also, none of the
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: guests on one of these charters is going to hold
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: back on what they want.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: In the moment, you will get it, Yeah, you will.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: So it's like, how is should order more crab legs
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: helpful when they got my pillow? Is the other thing
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: the next charter?
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Don't?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't get it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think it's like it's got to
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: be a production thing, right, because I remember there were
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: comment cards on another franchise. I want to say it
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: was below I think it was Mediterranean. I feel like
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Sandy was like, all right, you got four stars here,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: and uh, what are you gonna do to make it five? Huh?
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: You know, like I feel like there were and it's
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: just kind of I don't know if it's like a
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: waste of time or if it's just another layer of
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: just like, oh, let's make it interesting.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: I suppose, Yeah, I guess if it's only for that,
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: otherwise I have a hard time figuring it out.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it was Mike that said that rich
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: people fight because they're bored, and I was like, that
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: actually is really accurate, like at least in this situation. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: all right, anything else that we missed. I mean, I
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: guess that I thought that there wasn't as much behind
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: the scenes with these crazy housewives than I thought there
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: was going to be.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: No, I think that. I mean, there wasn't any big reveal.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: It was just more fun to watch the crew deal
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: with it.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and they all dealt with it great. That it
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: was worth it. The crossover was worth it. It was
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: they handled everything perfectly. And really the focus has been
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: on like chef Ben Yeh and Alicia Yeah, mm hmm.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: I mean there. I guess Daisy has been in the
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: mix a little bit, but yeah, for the most part,
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: it's been about the kitchen.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: It's been about the kitchen.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just naturally going to be the craziest.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Spot, right, Yeah, at least for this situation. I'm excited
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: no disco helmet because everybody did great. We'll see what
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: happens when Ellie arrives. I'm excited for things to like
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: really pop up. You know, it's good. She's good for drama.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: I think it was the after show it was like
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: she's brought eight suitcases of like lingerie.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Let's write all her costumes because she has an only
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: fan account. Yeah, all right, thanks for listening everybody. We
