- 0:18Speaker 2: The Woody Show.
- 0:23Speaker 3: This is The Woody Show. Insensitivity training.
- 0:28Speaker 2: For a politically correct world. Three, two, one.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Class is now in session. Hey, what's good, everybody?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Hey, what up?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Today is Wednesday. It is September the 9th, 2026. We
- 0:52Speaker 3: are The Woody Show. Yeah. I'm Woody.
- 0:54Speaker 2: That's Greg Gorey.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:56Speaker 3: We got Menace. What's up? Gina Grav.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Hi.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Seabass is here.
- 0:59Speaker 3: We got Sammy.
- 1:00Speaker 6: Hello.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Jeff G.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:02Speaker 3: On the job today. We got Morgan. Dumbass Tyler is here.
- 1:05Speaker 2: We got Vaughn, our video producer, along with.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Bort, Menjie.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Thank you for being here and giving us some of
- 1:11Speaker 2: your valuable time today. Many ways to be a part
- 1:14Speaker 2: of The Woody Show. You can call in 877-44-WOODY, which
- 1:18Speaker 2: after the show becomes the After Hours voicemail. You can
- 1:21Speaker 2: text us. Check in over to 22987. You can find
- 1:26Speaker 2: us and follow us on all the social media platforms.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Look for us there at The Woody Show. And, of course,
- 1:30Speaker 2: good old-fashioned email, which is email at thewoodyshow.com.
- 1:35Speaker 7: Yep.
- 1:36Speaker 2: All right, so if you're going through your budget, I mean,
- 1:39Speaker 2: the government doesn't do this, but when you have a budget,
- 1:41Speaker 2: you got to stay within that budget.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah, what's that like?
- 1:43Speaker 2: So you can make things happen. People start looking at
- 1:45Speaker 2: the different things that they're spending money on, the different subscriptions,
- 1:49Speaker 2: premium subscriptions. And so people were asked, what premium subscription
- 1:55Speaker 2: that you have do you think is actually worth the
- 1:57Speaker 2: money in 2026? And so they asked all these different people.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And these are the ones that came back the most often.
- 2:06Speaker 2: The Costco executive membership, which I have.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Is that the top tier?
- 2:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it's the black one.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So the executive cash back at 2% covers the membership
- 2:16Speaker 2: fee outright.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So you basically get the membership for nothing.
- 2:23Speaker 3: And you get tons of deals, right?
- 2:25Speaker 4: Well, I mean, does that mean 2% cash back if
- 2:28Speaker 4: you spend 50 times the membership?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but Woody, didn't you get your solar for a
- 2:33Speaker 3: better deal because of that?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I got 2% back on the cost of
- 2:37Speaker 2: the solar.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:38Speaker 2: So that easily paid for the membership. We got a
- 2:41Speaker 2: ton of money on that. But I'm saying whatever you spend. Like,
- 2:44Speaker 2: you know, you get two percent of that back. And
- 2:47Speaker 2: so if you're already going to be going to Costco
- 2:48Speaker 2: and buying all your stuff throughout the year, two percent
- 2:51Speaker 2: of that is probably I forget what the executive membership is.
- 2:54Speaker 3: How much is that?
- 2:55Speaker 4: It is one hundred and thirty dollars.
- 2:57Speaker 2: You can make one hundred and thirty bucks back.
- 2:59Speaker 4: So times 20, which would be.
- 3:00Speaker 3: $ 2, 600.
- 3:01Speaker 2: How much do you get? If you get out of
- 3:05Speaker 2: Target for no less than $ 100. What's the minimum you
- 3:07Speaker 2: get out of Costco?
- 3:07Speaker 8: $ 9 million.
- 3:07Speaker 5: $ 200 a month.
- 3:08Speaker 2: At the very least, you're going to get a mega discount.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I'm definitely spending $ 200 a month at Costco. AMCA list
- 3:23Speaker 2: made the list of what is a premium subscription that
- 3:26Speaker 2: people think is still worth the cost. You know, four
- 3:29Speaker 2: movies in any format per week is what you get.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And you get it for $ 24. 99 a month.
- 3:34Speaker 9: If you really do go to them, that's incredible.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yeah, if you have time. Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Someone was trying to sell me on that. I was like,
- 3:41Speaker 4: I don't want to go to the movies twice a
- 3:42Speaker 4: month and just spend hours and hours doing that.
- 3:44Speaker 9: Sounds like an errand.
- 3:45Speaker 5: It's not productive.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Spotify Premium is the only one that actually saved me
- 3:49Speaker 2: money since I stream like every day anyway. Everything else
- 3:51Speaker 2: feels like a scam.
- 3:52Speaker 9: Yeah, I read that.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Audible, I never thought I'd get through an entire book again.
- 3:57Speaker 9: Yeah, I do that.
- 3:59Speaker 2: CVS has a premium membership.
- 4:01Speaker 10: What?
- 4:01Speaker 3: How stupid.
- 4:03Speaker 6: No.
- 4:04Speaker 9: Is that just when they ask for your phone number?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Well, they have that, but this one says it's a
- 4:08Speaker 2: $ 5 fee, but they send you $ 10 in store.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Cash every month.
- 4:11Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. And you get.
- 4:13Speaker 2: A discount on their brand meds and supplements.
- 4:16Speaker 9: Yes, I joined it for the prescription stuff, and that
- 4:18Speaker 9: was great.
- 4:19Speaker 11: Yeah, because if you are someone who has regular medication,
- 4:22Speaker 11: it's so worth it just for that.
- 4:23Speaker 3: And then plus they do give you $ 10 every month.
- 4:26Speaker 11: And you're paying $ 5 for it, so you're already at like, no.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Yeah, your Medicaid, what's your pillbox look like?
- 4:32Speaker 2: This one's Walmart Plus. This person says, Walmart Plus has
- 4:36Speaker 2: been the best bang for our buck. We save so
- 4:37Speaker 2: much money on delivery and shipping. And as someone living
- 4:40Speaker 2: in rural areas, they are hands down the fastest way.
- 4:43Speaker 3: To get anything.
- 4:44Speaker 9: That makes sense for sure.
- 4:45Speaker 2: All right.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I've not heard of this one. Board game arena.
- 4:48Speaker 8: Jesus.
- 4:48Speaker 1: What?
- 4:48Speaker 3: That sounds like something we'd never hear about.
- 4:50Speaker 9: Like a library?
- 4:51Speaker 2: It says if you're into the hobby, it's the best
- 4:53Speaker 2: to get physical games going. But when you can't, BGA
- 4:57Speaker 2: has thousands of the best strategy and other games at
- 5:00Speaker 2: a great price.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Oh, losers.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Well, what about it?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Because somebody said low-key, the New York Times games subscription
- 5:06Speaker 2: has given me no reason.
- 5:08Speaker 3: To ever drop it. I was going to say, I
- 5:09Speaker 3: bet Gina has that.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I get access to every New York Times crossword ever
- 5:13Speaker 2: back to 1993, plus a bunch of other really fun
- 5:15Speaker 2: games and puzzles. It's like $ 25 a year. That's insane.
- 5:19Speaker 4: It's so worth it.
- 5:20Speaker 9: I have it, and that's the only way.
- 5:22Speaker 12: Reason my best friend who lives on the other side
- 5:24Speaker 12: of the country knows we're alive because we send our
- 5:26Speaker 12: score every day.
- 5:27Speaker 2: If you like comics, Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite
- 5:30Speaker 2: are incredible values.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 5:33Speaker 2: This one says, I understand this is not all popular
- 5:36Speaker 2: given the recent increase, but YouTube Premium gets the most
- 5:39Speaker 2: use for me. I did sign up for that because
- 5:41Speaker 2: I was so annoyed. by the the ads that would
- 5:45Speaker 2: pop up right in the middle of whatever you're watching
- 5:47Speaker 2: yeah no no real multiple times yeah i know our
- 5:50Speaker 2: podcast is kind of the same way it's goofy with
- 5:53Speaker 2: uh like all of a sudden like an ad will
- 5:54Speaker 2: pop up right in the middle of one of our conversations.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But you can fast forward through them right.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah you can but like on uh like right in
- 6:00Speaker 2: the middle of watching something on youtube it's super annoying
- 6:03Speaker 2: so i still don't have premium so i signed up
- 6:05Speaker 2: for premium is that like nine bucks a month i
- 6:07Speaker 2: forget but then um I got sent something. It's one
- 6:11Speaker 2: of the other things that we have a membership for.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So it includes YouTube premium. Oh, so now it's all
- 6:17Speaker 2: wrapped in.
- 6:17Speaker 12: Was it like one of your credit cards or something?
- 6:19Speaker 3: Something. Probably American Express.
- 6:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 9: I think we talked about that.
- 6:22Speaker 3: This one says PBS. Seriously, support PBS.
- 6:25Speaker 13: No, thanks.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think I pay less than $ 20 per year. Nothing
- 6:28Speaker 2: but documentaries and educational shows.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I love it. Oh, thank you. So, yeah, what do
- 6:32Speaker 3: you think? We're already paying for it. Oh, damn, Sigburn.
- 6:36Speaker 2: What premium subscription do you think is still worth the cost?
- 6:41Speaker 3: Okay, and I'll say, you know what, you guys?
- 6:43Speaker 14: Hallmark Plus is only like $ 8 a month.
- 6:44Speaker 3: It's so expensive. No commercials.
- 6:49Speaker 1: The Woody Show.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Did you see the story about the woman, like a
- 6:58Speaker 2: meteor hit her house?
- 6:59Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Did you see that?
- 7:00Speaker 6: No.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah, this is crazy. I got a clip of the
- 7:03Speaker 3: woman on the news, too, but kind of lucky. Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 3: You saw it, right?
- 7:07Speaker 9: Yeah, I was looking at it earlier.
- 7:09Speaker 12: Yeah, she was in Texas, and this was on Saturday,
- 7:12Speaker 12: and apparently a meteorite crashed through her ceiling, ricocheted around
- 7:16Speaker 12: like a bouncy ball, and then it landed next to
- 7:19Speaker 12: her TV.
- 7:20Speaker 2: She sounded like her grandson or something out to go
- 7:21Speaker 2: check it out.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Like, what the hell is that? We heard a.
- 7:23Speaker 13: Big boom, so I told my grandson to go see
- 7:25Speaker 13: what it was. He come back and said, you have
- 7:28Speaker 13: a hole in the ceiling. First thing I was mad.
- 7:31Speaker 13: I'm like, what didn't come through the ceiling? But then
- 7:33Speaker 13: when I saw the hole, then I saw the piece
- 7:36Speaker 13: on the hole in the floor and this, and then
- 7:39Speaker 13: I saw the rock. And I'm like, oh no. I said,
- 7:42Speaker 13: that looks like a media piece. And they said they
- 7:45Speaker 13: had reports that a meteor.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Wait, so your first thought would be meteor?
- 7:48Speaker 8: Yeah. Wow.
- 7:49Speaker 2: How many times has a meteor hit your house that
- 7:52Speaker 2: you would just have this on-the-spot recognition?
- 7:54Speaker 3: Like it was smoking, maybe.
- 7:57Speaker 9: It's crazy.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Like, what?
- 7:59Speaker 3: Like a meteor piece.
- 8:01Speaker 13: And they said they had reports that a meteor was
- 8:05Speaker 13: over North Florida, Houston, and exploded and had pieces went
- 8:09Speaker 13: out everywhere.
- 8:10Speaker 8: So.
- 8:10Speaker 13: So they said, this probably is a meteor. And I'm
- 8:13Speaker 13: definitely going to keep it.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. You should sell it.
- 8:16Speaker 5: She was paying attention to the news. So that's why
- 8:18Speaker 5: it was top of mind.
- 8:20Speaker 2: But I thought it was after the fact. Because the
- 8:22Speaker 2: news wouldn't cover it before it hit her house.
- 8:25Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 8:25Speaker 2: Like, there's things that you see all the time. You know,
- 8:27Speaker 2: it's like this meteor is, like, spent all day flying
- 8:29Speaker 2: around the Houston area.
- 8:31Speaker 6: True.
- 8:31Speaker 3: You know, it just kind of shoots through. Yeah, and
- 8:33Speaker 3: goes to this woman's house. It's crazy.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I mean, I've heard about people getting, like... You know,
- 8:38Speaker 2: things that fall off of airplanes.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Like chunks of ice and stuff.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Or chunks of ice or something like that.
- 8:43Speaker 9: Or sewage from planes.
- 8:44Speaker 3: But this is kind of rip-worthy because your insurance would
- 8:47Speaker 3: probably cover the repairs, right? And then you can sell
- 8:49Speaker 3: those things for stupid money. How much is a meteor?
- 8:52Speaker 9: I mean, do our insurance claims they cover meteors?
- 8:55Speaker 3: I would hope so.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I should look at mine.
- 8:56Speaker 3: You would think. I would think so.
- 8:58Speaker 2: For what insurance doesn't cover.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Act of God.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Is that an act of God?
- 9:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Right, because who are you going to blame? Who's the
- 9:03Speaker 2: insurance company? The insurance company needs somebody to go after.
- 9:06Speaker 9: Well, who's the insurance company that has those commercials with J.K.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Simmons?
- 9:09Speaker 9: It's like, if you did a deer.
- 9:11Speaker 3: We are farmers.
- 9:12Speaker 9: We've covered it, so I don't know if meteors, they're
- 9:14Speaker 9: the one to go to.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Oh, that's true.
- 9:16Speaker 9: Like anything insane, they've covered it.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Like if a moose crashes through your window.
- 9:19Speaker 9: Yes, exactly.
- 9:20Speaker 3: They'll cover it. Yeah, well, there's insurance where... There's a flood.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Or, hey, you know, they say like, oh, we won't
- 9:29Speaker 2: cover your house if an earthquake hits. But if there's
- 9:33Speaker 2: a fire that starts because of the damage from the
- 9:36Speaker 2: earthquake that burned your house down, your house is covered
- 9:39Speaker 2: because of the fire.
- 9:39Speaker 9: Got it.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Isn't that weird? It is weird. Meteors.
- 9:43Speaker 4: They love loopholes.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Surprisingly affordable. You can get them for like 20 bucks.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Meteor insurance. I thought they were stupid. We are out here. Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Seabass is a psycho.
- 9:52Speaker 8: Your mom's box.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Who is getting the Woody show?
- 10:09Speaker 2: All right, so now you got me thinking about all
- 10:11Speaker 2: these things that you're not supposed to use Drano on
- 10:13Speaker 2: your pipes.
- 10:14Speaker 3: You know, whatever.
- 10:15Speaker 2: But we do anyway. Like, not supposed to eat raw
- 10:19Speaker 2: cookie dough.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Do that.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yeah. All day.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Not supposed to pop pimples.
- 10:23Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 3: We do that. We do that all the time.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Well, I'm not supposed to flush tampons, and you had
- 10:28Speaker 4: a problem with that.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Once, and it was like a very old house. That's
- 10:32Speaker 3: still a problem.
- 10:33Speaker 5: Well, it doesn't happen.
- 10:34Speaker 14: Every so often, but for the most part, it'll be fine.
- 10:37Speaker 10: Whatever.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Or you throw it in the trash, it never happens.
- 10:40Speaker 3: It's not a problem I have to deal with.
- 10:41Speaker 14: Who cares?
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, now it's got me thinking about all these things
- 10:46Speaker 2: that you're not supposed to do, but you do. I
- 10:51Speaker 2: just saw a thing, they were asking auto mechanics, and
- 10:56Speaker 2: they were saying, hey.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Is it a bad idea to top off at the
- 11:00Speaker 2: gas pump?
- 11:01Speaker 8: Oh.
- 11:01Speaker 2: And all of them said yes.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Really? That you shouldn't? Shouldn't do it.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Like the minute it clicks, just put it back.
- 11:08Speaker 9: Be done with it.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Because there's something in there that's built into, I forget
- 11:12Speaker 2: what it's called. It's some kind of like, not overflow or,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I forget.
- 11:18Speaker 2: They all had the same basic answer about how you're
- 11:20Speaker 2: going to mess that up and then that's going to
- 11:22Speaker 2: be an expensive repair.
- 11:23Speaker 10: Oh.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Oh.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Like, dude, I've been. It's the phalange.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I have that weird thing about it's got to be
- 11:28Speaker 2: the closest quarter or whole dollar.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Because you're normal.
- 11:32Speaker 2: 25, 50, 75, whole dollar.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yes. Like, I will spill gas. Maybe not today. At
- 11:37Speaker 3: these prices.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Not at these prices.
- 11:39Speaker 3: It's liquid gold.
- 11:40Speaker 2: But, you know, like spill gas on the ground before
- 11:43Speaker 2: I allow.
- 11:44Speaker 3: It not to be to the closest 25 cents. Like
- 11:47Speaker 3: some psychopath. Grease down the drain. Oh, never.
- 11:53Speaker 4: In apartments where that's happened, it's a nightmare because it
- 11:56Speaker 4: does coagulate and clog.
- 11:57Speaker 9: You know what they say to do?
- 11:58Speaker 12: Put a piece of tinfoil over your drain and pour
- 12:02Speaker 12: it in. Let it solidify and then throw it away.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Sure.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you can also pour it into a jar.
- 12:07Speaker 9: Oh, yeah, we do that.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Some sort of receptacle.
- 12:11Speaker 2: You know, I always thought, you know what would be
- 12:13Speaker 2: a good idea? would be to, and I don't do
- 12:16Speaker 2: this because I don't put the grease down the drain.
- 12:21Speaker 2: But what I will do is I will pour it into,
- 12:23Speaker 2: like if you have like an old jar of some
- 12:25Speaker 2: kind because my parents always had one.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Underneath the sink.
- 12:27Speaker 13: Oh, really?
- 12:28Speaker 3: Like a grease jar? Yeah, it was a grease jar.
- 12:31Speaker 14: And then what do you do with it?
- 12:32Speaker 2: You wait for it to fill up and then you
- 12:33Speaker 2: just throw the whole thing away.
- 12:34Speaker 12: Greg, remember we had, you came to my house and
- 12:37Speaker 12: we had one and you smelled it because you thought
- 12:39Speaker 12: it was a candle.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Oh, that's right.
- 12:41Speaker 2: This is a weird candle.
- 12:45Speaker 12: A wickless disgusting candle.
- 12:49Speaker 5: I do have a question going back to the gas
- 12:50Speaker 5: real quick. They say not to fill gas while your
- 12:53Speaker 5: car is running, but Race cars do it all the time.
- 12:56Speaker 4: I think that's like using your cell phone in airplane mode.
- 12:58Speaker 4: I don't think it.
- 12:59Speaker 9: It just doesn't seem like a good idea.
- 13:01Speaker 2: You would think that gas stations would be going up
- 13:04Speaker 2: in flames left and right.
- 13:05Speaker 3: All the time.
- 13:06Speaker 9: And they say don't use your phone while you're pumping gas.
- 13:09Speaker 12: Am I going to get electrocuted?
- 13:12Speaker 4: Apparently, if you top off your gas tank, it's just
- 13:17Speaker 4: going on the ground, basically. You've got an overflow protector there.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but there's something that runs back into something.
- 13:23Speaker 4: There's a charcoal filter, too.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Okay, yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 4: It's designed for accidents, essentially.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you will mess that up, and I
- 13:31Speaker 2: guess if that gets messed up, that's a really expensive repair.
- 13:34Speaker 4: It's designed to catch the excess, and if you keep
- 13:37Speaker 4: overflowing it, you're just wasting it.
- 13:38Speaker 2: You're not supposed to use bar soap on your face.
- 13:41Speaker 2: You're not supposed to use it to wash your hair.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I just read somewhere recently you're supposed to just lather
- 13:47Speaker 3: up With the bar soap all over your hands and
- 13:49Speaker 3: then use your hands on your body, you're not supposed
- 13:51Speaker 3: to put this bar soap directly on your body and rub.
- 13:53Speaker 9: Here's what I don't understand about that.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I've been doing that my whole life.
- 13:56Speaker 9: I don't think I've ever used a bar of soap
- 13:58Speaker 9: in the shower. Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 12: But if it's antibacterial soap, how would bacteria survive on
- 14:03Speaker 12: a bar of soap?
- 14:04Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 14:05Speaker 10: Right.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But is that the reason you're not supposed to rub it?
- 14:06Speaker 9: That's what I thought it was.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Or is it because, like, your.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Body, like, just rubbing on your body like that wouldn't
- 14:11Speaker 2: create enough lather? I guess activating the lather might be
- 14:13Speaker 2: some help.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Irish spring creates plenty of lather. What about your tooth?
- 14:17Speaker 2: If I'm going to use bar soap, I will go
- 14:20Speaker 2: Irish spring for sure.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Oh, God, yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Apparently it's because it's too harsh.
- 14:23Speaker 3: That does seem.
- 14:24Speaker 9: Very, like, a dude thing to use, like, a bar
- 14:26Speaker 9: of soap.
- 14:27Speaker 15: I mean, I.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Well, you use that lava soap, right? It's just basically, like, sandpaper.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And shower gel doesn't lather.
- 14:34Speaker 9: It sucks.
- 14:35Speaker 3: You have to use a mitt. I hate it.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It does if you put it on a washcloth.
- 14:40Speaker 3: But I'm not 90. Washcloths are so Depression era.
- 14:45Speaker 2: But you are gay, so use a poof. I won't
- 14:47Speaker 2: use a poof because I think it's gay.
- 14:48Speaker 9: Don't you want a mitt to exfoliate?
- 14:50Speaker 3: I hate the poof.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Because you said they're too scratchy.
- 14:51Speaker 3: They scratch.
- 14:53Speaker 12: Well, and they also breed bacteria.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they suck. Yeah, the washcloth, man, like.
- 14:59Speaker 2: It's a Dove men's liquid soap And I think it's
- 15:03Speaker 2: men just because of the scent Because no chick would
- 15:06Speaker 2: be caught dead with this scent Is it like pine?
- 15:10Speaker 3: No, it's just not floral. Oh, okay.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's something called fresh or whatever. And it comes
- 15:18Speaker 2: out blue in color. So it's fun.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, for men.
- 15:21Speaker 2: It's masculine. So a couple pumps of that, Greg, on
- 15:24Speaker 2: just a washcloth. And then I just kind of like
- 15:26Speaker 2: ball it up a little bit. And that thing is
- 15:27Speaker 2: like just full on crazy amount of lather to where
- 15:31Speaker 2: I feel like maybe I used too much.
- 15:33Speaker 14: Is this weird? The soap I use right now, it's
- 15:35Speaker 14: a bar soap, but the outside it's covered in sheep wool.
- 15:39Speaker 9: Oh, I've done that before.
- 15:40Speaker 14: You actually are supposed to use it.
- 15:42Speaker 9: I got one of those at the farmer's market.
- 15:44Speaker 14: I think when the soap's done, then you just toss it.
- 15:48Speaker 9: Did you mean more than one time?
- 15:50Speaker 3: No, I mean when the soap whittles down to nothing.
- 15:52Speaker 14: I'll just toss it. Then it's just going to be sheep.
- 15:55Speaker 14: But it's weird when I'm in the shower and I'm
- 15:56Speaker 14: rubbing the sheep all over me.
- 15:58Speaker 3: That sounds kind of cool.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It smells good.
- 16:02Speaker 14: It's from New Zealand.
- 16:03Speaker 2: The covering or whatever, the sheep whatever.
- 16:07Speaker 14: Yeah, it's just like fuzzy hair.
- 16:10Speaker 2: So it's basically a washcloth or a poof that you
- 16:12Speaker 2: don't clean?
- 16:13Speaker 3: Does it dry?
- 16:14Speaker 14: I dry it, like I put it off to the side.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I'm saying, but if you're like, do you like rub
- 16:18Speaker 2: it on your box and stuff? No, no, no.
- 16:20Speaker 3: In your butt?
- 16:21Speaker 14: No, you're not supposed to go that deep with things anyway. Well,
- 16:24Speaker 14: then how do.
- 16:25Speaker 2: You, how do you clean in your, like the inside of.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Your ass crack?
- 16:29Speaker 9: Your nooks and crannies.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you clean their nooks and crannies?
- 16:32Speaker 14: With just water. Well, for my lady, just water.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 14: You don't get soap in there.
- 16:38Speaker 2: You don't use, not in it, but I mean.
- 16:41Speaker 14: Your butt, you'll use soap.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Right.
- 16:43Speaker 2: So then how do you get in there?
- 16:44Speaker 14: But I'm not going inside with anything.
- 16:46Speaker 6: No, no, no.
- 16:46Speaker 3: But how do you get in your ass crack? I'm like,
- 16:48Speaker 3: should you spread it on the back? What about the crack?
- 16:50Speaker 3: You take one.
- 16:51Speaker 14: I mean, how do we all do it? Don't we
- 16:52Speaker 14: spread our.
- 16:54Speaker 3: I think the question is. No, but I'm not rubbed.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Like in other words, I'm not going to, like this
- 16:56Speaker 2: thing is a bar, right?
- 16:57Speaker 1: Oh, I'm not.
- 16:57Speaker 14: I don't use that on my butt.
- 16:59Speaker 3: That's the question. Okay, sorry.
- 17:01Speaker 2: That was the question.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Do you have like butt soap? I have body wash.
- 17:04Speaker 2: So that's what I use. Gather some of the lather
- 17:08Speaker 2: from the other part and then just use it. Put
- 17:09Speaker 2: your hand in, you know.
- 17:10Speaker 9: Like you make those beards in the hot tub.
- 17:12Speaker 14: But no, the bar of soap.
- 17:13Speaker 5: I don't.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Do you wash your do you wash your ass with
- 17:16Speaker 3: your bare hand, Greg? Uh, no, I do the bar
- 17:19Speaker 3: of soap on the whole body. Use the same bar everywhere.
- 17:21Speaker 2: So you put the bar between your cheeks?
- 17:24Speaker 3: Oh, sure.
- 17:24Speaker 5: You do?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 9: It washes off.
- 17:27Speaker 3: I don't care. It's erosion on the bar.
- 17:29Speaker 9: But is it just your soap or do you and
- 17:30Speaker 9: Mario share soap?
- 17:31Speaker 3: No, it's the one soap in the shower. Oh, wow.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I don't think he cares.
- 17:34Speaker 2: See, I'm surprised that Mario uses bar soap. He seems
- 17:37Speaker 2: too fancy for that.
- 17:38Speaker 3: He likes Irish Spring.
- 17:40Speaker 9: That is shocking.
- 17:41Speaker 3: That is kind of shocking, right? The guy who buys
- 17:43Speaker 3: like a $ 500 face cream. Yeah, that's pretty basic. Ah, no.
- 17:49Speaker 3: All right, welcome back, everybody.
- 17:51Speaker 2: We've got the phones open, 877-44-WOODY.
- 17:56Speaker 3: You can text us over to 22987.
- 17:59Speaker 2: What does today's take?
- 18:01Speaker 3: Puppy Day or National Puppy Day? National Puppy Day. That's
- 18:05Speaker 3: what the dog is.
- 18:06Speaker 2: It is National Puppy Day.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Love it.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Oh, you da baby.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, just little sweeties. Yeah.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:12Speaker 3: What was, uh.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Oh.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I have, by the way, I have not heard all
- 18:15Speaker 2: the details about this.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Ah, yes. Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Hold on, Seabass.
- 18:20Speaker 4: I was the one who was part of all of it.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I can tip the story.
- 18:23Speaker 5: Wow.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh.
- 18:24Speaker 16: Hold on.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Let's let... Because, you know, you have your narrative, Seabass.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Because Menace told me he had a story to share. Well,
- 18:30Speaker 3: Sammy witnessed it as well. I did. Oh, you witnessed
- 18:33Speaker 3: this too? I did it for them intentionally.
- 18:35Speaker 11: I was so happy I got to witness this.
- 18:38Speaker 3: What is it?
- 18:39Speaker 5: Somebody was all giddy because somebody brought a dog into
- 18:44Speaker 5: the building and... Seabass was all excited because he wanted
- 18:49Speaker 5: to narc these people out.
- 18:50Speaker 4: You recall a couple months ago, I found somebody sneaking
- 18:54Speaker 4: what I thought was sneaking their dog in, not to
- 18:55Speaker 4: one of our office floors, but to one of the
- 18:56Speaker 4: other floors in the building. They're using the freight elevator
- 18:59Speaker 4: in the back. And I said, oh, these sneaks.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Because we have.
- 19:03Speaker 4: An email from our person in charge of our building
- 19:06Speaker 4: manager stating that the building.
- 19:08Speaker 9: And our office itself both have no dog policies whatsoever.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Except for actual registered service.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Well, that's kind of interesting because you called the building
- 19:17Speaker 5: on speakerphone in front of.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Sammy and I.
- 19:19Speaker 5: That's true.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes. About this person? About this person. This
- 19:24Speaker 3: is new. This just happened.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I said, hey, I got the office
- 19:29Speaker 4: number downstairs, not to the radio station, but the building.
- 19:32Speaker 3: The actual building who owns the building.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I said, hey, I was just coming up and there's
- 19:38Speaker 4: a dog in the freight elevator and I've got these
- 19:40Speaker 4: really bad allergies.
- 19:41Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 3: But you don't. Fake coffee.
- 19:43Speaker 5: But you don't.
- 19:43Speaker 3: First off, I do have small dog eyes. By the way,
- 19:46Speaker 3: your thing on that is.
- 19:49Speaker 2: That the same as the people who are offended on
- 19:51Speaker 2: behalf of other people?
- 19:53Speaker 5: Like, let's just say, like.
- 19:55Speaker 2: On behalf of the gay community, I'm offended by, are
- 20:00Speaker 2: you gay? No, I'm not gay, but on behalf of.
- 20:02Speaker 4: It's not the same thing, but I am going to lie.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Because my main problem with dogs is they create mess
- 20:08Speaker 4: and noise.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Okay, so hold on. Let me hear the rest of
- 20:11Speaker 2: the story first. So this person brings the dog in.
- 20:13Speaker 2: He's on the phone with the building management. To the
- 20:17Speaker 2: people that own the building. To the receptionist.
- 20:19Speaker 15: Okay.
- 20:20Speaker 8: And?
- 20:21Speaker 5: And he goes, yeah, to make them aware of their
- 20:24Speaker 5: policy that there's no dogs allowed in the building.
- 20:27Speaker 3: And she replies with, oh, we don't have.
- 20:29Speaker 5: A policy of no dogs in the building.
- 20:33Speaker 4: She said it's okay if they take the freight elevator.
- 20:36Speaker 11: Yeah, she said dogs are allowed in the building. They
- 20:38Speaker 11: just have to take the freight elevator.
- 20:40Speaker 4: To which I said, well, why would that be? And
- 20:43Speaker 4: she didn't really know.
- 20:45Speaker 3: No, she said because if.
- 20:48Speaker 3: To be like less distracting coming into the building.
- 20:51Speaker 11: And for the sea basses of the world. So she said,
- 20:52Speaker 11: you know, so I suggest, you know, you can take
- 20:54Speaker 11: the main lobby elevator.
- 20:55Speaker 4: To which I replied, I use the freight elevator often
- 20:58Speaker 4: because I'm often bringing in large items, which is actually true.
- 21:01Speaker 4: I'm bringing in big stuff in here a lot of times,
- 21:03Speaker 4: picking up stuff, deliveries and things of that nature. And
- 21:06Speaker 4: to which, and I said, you know, I'm really allergic,
- 21:07Speaker 4: which again- What's.
- 21:14Speaker 2: The what's the last large thing that you brought up
- 21:16Speaker 2: that wouldn't have fit in the regular elevator Anything we
- 21:19Speaker 2: get via like instacart or whatever a door dash. They
- 21:21Speaker 2: can't fit up the regular That's typically where the deliveries
- 21:26Speaker 2: happen I do bring large things about you know other stuff.
- 21:30Speaker 5: They don't want okay, but she said there is no
- 21:32Speaker 5: policy I So that you can't have dogs in the building.
- 21:35Speaker 4: So now she, that's, this is, this is all true.
- 21:38Speaker 3: This happened.
- 21:39Speaker 4: However, I have a feeling that we have an instance
- 21:42Speaker 4: of a little miss know nothing. Who's the receptionist. Who
- 21:45Speaker 4: works for the actual building. Doesn't know, but does she
- 21:48Speaker 4: handle the leases?
- 21:49Speaker 5: The person that emailed you does not work for the
- 21:54Speaker 5: people that own the building.
- 21:55Speaker 4: But he talks to the people that own the building.
- 21:56Speaker 4: She's the receptionist. She doesn't sign the leases. She doesn't
- 21:59Speaker 4: sign the contracts.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Do you think perhaps the policy has changed since that
- 22:02Speaker 2: original email? Because things change all the time.
- 22:05Speaker 3: That's possible.
- 22:06Speaker 2: This building is three quarters of the way empty.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Yeah. They may have.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:08Speaker 3: So I'm pretty sure.
- 22:10Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Relax now. By the way.
- 22:13Speaker 4: You know what?
- 22:15Speaker 3: What they used to care about a lot. Maybe not
- 22:16Speaker 3: so much now.
- 22:17Speaker 4: That's a great point to a separate issue about me
- 22:19Speaker 4: leaving my cars here over the weekend. But regardless, we're
- 22:22Speaker 4: on the dogs. That bolsters my other point about this
- 22:25Speaker 4: crap building. So, yeah. So I think that's possible, Woody.
- 22:27Speaker 4: They may have changed it in order to try to
- 22:29Speaker 4: like lure in business.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Which case, we'll see. I'll talk. I couldn't find any
- 22:37Speaker 4: copies of our leases.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Online, which isn't surprising. So you got served.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, I got served by someone who I don't
- 22:43Speaker 4: think knows the policy.
- 22:44Speaker 15: Hold on.
- 22:44Speaker 11: Can I tell my favorite part of what happened in
- 22:47Speaker 11: the whole story? Is at the end, and he's doing
- 22:49Speaker 11: his fake coughing, and he's like.
- 22:51Speaker 9: Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm just really, I'm very allergic
- 22:54Speaker 9: to dogs.
- 22:55Speaker 14: And she goes.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Take Benadryl? Yeah! Now, back to the Woody show. Today
- 23:03Speaker 3: is National Puppy Day.
- 23:04Speaker 9: Puppy Day.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Shout out to puppies.
- 23:07Speaker 2: National Puppy Day.
- 23:09Speaker 10: Don't.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I've noticed... I've noticed not that my dog was
- 23:13Speaker 2: ever like a super big ball of energy. But I've
- 23:16Speaker 2: noticed she started acting more like an older dog.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Oh, I hate that.
- 23:20Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I know. Yeah. Because she's what? Seven?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Eight?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Seven?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Eight.
- 23:24Speaker 3: She can be eight.
- 23:24Speaker 8: Eight?
- 23:25Speaker 2: Damn.
- 23:25Speaker 9: Like, not as, like, tail waggy.
- 23:27Speaker 2: No, it's just like, you see the look of her face.
- 23:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 2: And, yeah, just her overall just kind of general.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Like, she's fine.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Like, she's still got as much energy, I think, as
- 23:38Speaker 2: she's ever had.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:39Speaker 3: It's just that she shows it differently. And what do
- 23:40Speaker 3: they call it?
- 23:41Speaker 9: Like, sugar muzzle or whatever?
- 23:42Speaker 3: Well, she's already white.
- 23:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 3: My dog's getting so gray. Yeah. It starts right around
- 23:49Speaker 3: the mouth, but then it's kind of spread to the eyes.
- 23:52Speaker 3: And now it's kind of like the body is getting gray.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I told you it bummed my wife out because she
- 23:56Speaker 2: brought her to the vet just for the regular stuff.
- 23:59Speaker 2: And they said, well, she's now a senior lady. And man,
- 24:03Speaker 2: that bummed my wife out. But I just thought, oh,
- 24:04Speaker 2: who's the little senior lady?
- 24:06Speaker 9: Geriatric?
- 24:07Speaker 3: Yeah, just kiss her.
- 24:08Speaker 15: Sweetie.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I always think of that saying, the price of love
- 24:12Speaker 3: is grief. And that is so true with dogs. We
- 24:15Speaker 3: go in this cycle of we know we're not going
- 24:18Speaker 3: to have them forever.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And my wife keeps pushing, like, we should get another one. Like,
- 24:22Speaker 2: have a second to keep her young. But I said, no,
- 24:26Speaker 2: this is going to be my one and only dog.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I don't want another one after her. I considered another dog,
- 24:33Speaker 3: but what if that's the dog that chews the couch
- 24:36Speaker 3: up or poops in the house? My current dog is horrible.
- 24:39Speaker 3: absolutely perfect.
- 24:41Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 24:41Speaker 3: We had it going on with our son. He was great.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Slept through the night immediately.
- 24:45Speaker 5: You rolled the dice.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I said, well, the second one, what if it doesn't
- 24:49Speaker 2: sleep through the night? And then she's been the one
- 24:51Speaker 2: who's been like hell on wheels, you know?
- 24:53Speaker 9: She is feisty.
- 24:55Speaker 3: She's great and I love her. She's a character.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Man, two on one is better than one on one.
- 24:59Speaker 2: You know, certainly better than being outnumbered by kids.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't, I don't think I'm open to
- 25:06Speaker 2: another dog after her.
- 25:07Speaker 3: This is the one and only. I do. You do
- 25:09Speaker 3: say that now, but I see how you feel.
- 25:12Speaker 5: I did that early. I had a dog that was
- 25:14Speaker 5: a year old, and then I got a second dog.
- 25:16Speaker 5: So now they're 10 and 9, and the younger one
- 25:20Speaker 5: still acts like a puppy.
- 25:22Speaker 3: It's insane. I thought she would calm down a little bit,
- 25:25Speaker 3: but no. She's like a smother. See, Greg's forever dog.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Rex.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Yes. Yes. whose name is tattooed on my arm.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yeah, when Rex died, I was pretty sure that Greg
- 25:36Speaker 2: wouldn't get another dog, and then he did.
- 25:38Speaker 3: I know, and I resented her. And now you have Callie.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I resented Callie the first week or two because I
- 25:42Speaker 3: kept comparing her to Rex. Yeah. And when we got Callie,
- 25:47Speaker 3: she was technically a puppy. Ten months, that's still a puppy, right?
- 25:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 3: So she would chew the remote control, chew my glasses,
- 25:54Speaker 3: scratch at the door, and I thought, oh my God,
- 25:57Speaker 3: what have we done? And now she is like Rex 2.0.
- 26:00Speaker 3: She's Perfect.
- 26:02Speaker 2: But do you love her as much as Rex?
- 26:05Speaker 3: As much as I love Rex? I would say there's
- 26:07Speaker 3: no way that's.
- 26:08Speaker 9: You love your dog.
- 26:09Speaker 3: No, no, no. I love Callie. No, he loves her.
- 26:11Speaker 3: He does. I think I've probably crossed over to loving
- 26:16Speaker 3: Callie slightly more if I had to quantify. Are you
- 26:20Speaker 3: saying that because she's listening right now?
- 26:21Speaker 5: Afraid that she'll attack you.
- 26:24Speaker 3: No, because she's actually easier than Rex was. Really? He
- 26:28Speaker 3: was kind of dog aggressive. So when you took him
- 26:30Speaker 3: on a walk, And if a dog was even across
- 26:33Speaker 3: the street, he would borderline pull you to it. And
- 26:36Speaker 3: he did not like other dogs. I'm shocked to hear that.
- 26:38Speaker 3: And Callie couldn't care less about other dogs.
- 26:40Speaker 8: I'm glad.
- 26:41Speaker 2: I'm happy for you because that's great.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I love Callie.
- 26:44Speaker 9: What kind of dog was wrecked?
- 26:45Speaker 3: Pit bull.
- 26:46Speaker 11: Oh.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Both pits.
- 26:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 3: And they're so, I mean, Callie.
- 26:50Speaker 8: Another baby killer.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Baby killer.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Well, Gina's a Met, Callie.
- 26:53Speaker 9: Oh, I'm still scarred.
- 26:54Speaker 3: You are petrified.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Literally and figuratively scarred.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, we do have some other show-related dog news.
- 26:58Speaker 12: Oh, yeah, yeah. So I was one of those people
- 27:01Speaker 12: that I'm never doing this again.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I can't.
- 27:03Speaker 14: My heart is closed to this.
- 27:04Speaker 9: But after many years and a lot of thought and
- 27:07Speaker 9: a lot of research, we're getting a puppy!
- 27:09Speaker 6: Yay!
- 27:10Speaker 3: Actually, hold on. I was going to give you half
- 27:12Speaker 3: of one. That's enough. It's kind of a dog. Is
- 27:16Speaker 3: it a girly one? Yes, Greg.
- 27:17Speaker 2: It is the ultimate girly dog. Show Greg what it
- 27:22Speaker 2: looks like when it's a full-grown adult.
- 27:24Speaker 3: What kind of dog is it?
- 27:25Speaker 8: Hold on.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Let's be quiet so we can get Greg's natural reaction.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Because I know what it's.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Going to be.
- 27:29Speaker 16: See?
- 27:31Speaker 3: That's not a dog.
- 27:33Speaker 9: Okay.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Let me explain myself.
- 27:34Speaker 9: Let me explain.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Show Morgan. On a scale of 1 to 10.
- 27:37Speaker 14: You really want your son to be gay, huh?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 27:39Speaker 2: On a scale of 1 to 10.
- 27:42Speaker 14: Oh, for the dog. I mean, it's cute. I do
- 27:44Speaker 14: like dogs, but three.
- 27:48Speaker 9: It's hardly a dog.
- 27:49Speaker 4: I get it.
- 27:49Speaker 9: Let me explain how I found this dog.
- 27:51Speaker 14: And it's probably going to yap all day long.
- 27:53Speaker 9: No, no, they don't. They're not barkers.
- 27:55Speaker 3: You know, when you watch the dog show on TV,
- 27:57Speaker 3: the one that wins is always the lame, ugly, tiny.
- 28:01Speaker 3: It's never like a Doberman.
- 28:02Speaker 12: Okay, let me explain. I am deathly allergic to dogs
- 28:06Speaker 12: for real.
- 28:06Speaker 2: What's the breed so people can look it up?
- 28:09Speaker 9: After much research.
- 28:10Speaker 3: What's the breed?
- 28:10Speaker 14: You sound embarrassed to say it.
- 28:12Speaker 9: I am. After much research, I found these are the
- 28:15Speaker 9: most hypoallergenic dogs.
- 28:15Speaker 15: What's the breed?
- 28:17Speaker 9: It's called a Coton de Tullière.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 28:21Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 28:21Speaker 14: You got to say that when people ask what kind
- 28:23Speaker 14: of dog it is.
- 28:23Speaker 9: They're cotton. Cotton dog. They're the cotton dogs of Tullière.
- 28:26Speaker 3: They're Madagascar.
- 28:27Speaker 9: They're from Madagascar.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Is it spelled like cotton? How do you spell it?
- 28:30Speaker 5: One T.
- 28:30Speaker 9: C-O-T-O-N.
- 28:31Speaker 3: C-O-T-O-N. Coton de Tullière. How the hell do you spell that?
- 28:36Speaker 9: Of Tullier. D-E-T-U-L-E-A-R.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Okay, so if you want to look it up.
- 28:42Speaker 9: But just to win you over, first Google Coton de
- 28:45Speaker 9: Tullier puppy.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Okay, but all puppies. No, there's puppies. Yes, it's like kittens.
- 28:50Speaker 3: But this puppy is way cuter than all other puppies.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Full grown cats? Man, they're boring. Yeah, it's going to
- 28:55Speaker 3: be true.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Puppies, cute.
- 28:56Speaker 9: It's for me.
- 28:56Speaker 12: This dog's never going to touch the ground. This is
- 28:58Speaker 12: going to be my whole personality. I'm going to be
- 28:59Speaker 12: totally insufferable. I'm making a calendar.
- 29:01Speaker 3: I support this. Even pugs as puppies are cute.
- 29:03Speaker 9: Pugs are the most disgusting dog.
- 29:05Speaker 3: But then when they grow up, ugh. Okay, so... Oh,
- 29:08Speaker 3: this is such a girly dog.
- 29:10Speaker 6: I know.
- 29:10Speaker 9: It's so cute. I can't believe I'm doing this.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Would your husband take this dog on a walk by himself? No. Okay,
- 29:15Speaker 3: I hope not.
- 29:16Speaker 2: And you got to know that this is a dog
- 29:18Speaker 2: that your son's never going to be able to be
- 29:20Speaker 2: proud of.
- 29:20Speaker 9: He's not going to claim this dog.
- 29:22Speaker 3: If you had a daughter, it would be different. Like,
- 29:24Speaker 3: oh my God.
- 29:24Speaker 2: He would love it. He'd be super proud of it.
- 29:26Speaker 2: But this is, you are setting yourself up to, like,
- 29:29Speaker 2: you want your stepson to have A dog.
- 29:32Speaker 3: A tough high school.
- 29:33Speaker 15: A dog.
- 29:34Speaker 3: All right, a dog. But you're giving him a dog
- 29:37Speaker 3: that he cannot be proud of. Okay, as a puppy.
- 29:39Speaker 9: I think he's going to be stoked.
- 29:41Speaker 12: But yes, when it goes up to look like what
- 29:42Speaker 12: it looks like, it'll be like, this is my stepmom's dog.
- 29:44Speaker 3: And you know how long the puppy phase is going
- 29:46Speaker 3: to last? Six months tops. But it's so cute.
- 29:49Speaker 11: And all the girls are going to love it.
- 29:50Speaker 9: And that's why he's going to get all the chicks.
- 29:52Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Because they're going to think he's safe because he's gay. Yeah.
- 29:55Speaker 9: Well, that can work.
- 29:56Speaker 14: That's one way in.
- 29:57Speaker 3: You can cut the hair, right?
- 29:58Speaker 4: Okay.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Yes. I'm surprised Seabass.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Hasn't run in here for the hyperallergenic thing.
- 30:05Speaker 12: No, he'll understand this. It's because the protein in their
- 30:08Speaker 12: saliva that's less than other dogs.
- 30:09Speaker 3: All right.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Well, since it is National Puppy Day, we do have
- 30:12Speaker 2: a game that Menace came up with that we're going
- 30:16Speaker 2: to play next.
- 30:16Speaker 3: And we'll tell you what it is next. It's just
- 30:18Speaker 3: a little fun. It's dumb. It's National Puppy Day. You
- 30:21Speaker 3: know what I mean? It's adorable.
- 30:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 2: You know, we've had Guess That Gas. How about Guess
- 30:24Speaker 2: That Bark?
- 30:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Guess That Bark. We will explain next on the Woody
- 30:27Speaker 3: Show Hangout.
- 30:28Speaker 6: The Woody Show.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Back in a bit. The Woody Show. All right, so
- 30:34Speaker 3: I told you, man, it's got a game. Yes. National
- 30:37Speaker 3: Puppy Day.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 30:38Speaker 3: And the game, Guess That Bark. Guess That Bark. Guess
- 30:42Speaker 3: That Bark. And you have to guess, is it a
- 30:43Speaker 3: pit bull or a shih tzu?
- 30:45Speaker 6: Yes.
- 30:46Speaker 8: All right.
- 30:46Speaker 3: All right. So do we want to play just in
- 30:50Speaker 3: the room here? Okay.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I have a bunch of clips here, and
- 30:54Speaker 5: all you guys got to do is guess, is it
- 30:56Speaker 5: a pit bull or a shih tzu?
- 30:57Speaker 3: Yes. Here's clip number one.
- 30:59Speaker 2: All right, clip number one, Guess That Bark.
- 31:11Speaker 3: All right. I'm going to go out on a limb.
- 31:14Speaker 6: Really?
- 31:14Speaker 3: No way to know.
- 31:14Speaker 9: And I'm going to.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Say it's a shih tzu. Oh, really? No. I'm going
- 31:18Speaker 3: pit bull on that one. You are correct.
- 31:20Speaker 10: Wow.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Look at that. All right. So it's the first person
- 31:24Speaker 3: to ring in?
- 31:25Speaker 8: Yes.
- 31:26Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Got it.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Now we get it.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Now we know. You know what? That was a practice round.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Everybody back to zero points.
- 31:32Speaker 8: Okay.
- 31:32Speaker 3: All right. Now, again, you don't want to just jump
- 31:35Speaker 3: the gun. Think real hard.
- 31:37Speaker 1: All right.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Gina.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Gina.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Gina. A pit bull? Gina, you are correct. It is
- 31:46Speaker 3: a pit bull.
- 31:47Speaker 8: Okay.
- 31:47Speaker 3: All right, all right. I hate to lose. Okay. Okay, guys.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Guess that bark. Is it a pit bull or a
- 31:55Speaker 3: shih tzu?
- 31:56Speaker 2: Greg.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Greg.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Pit bull? Yeah, that'd be a pit bull. Pit bull.
- 32:03Speaker 15: Greg. Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 3: I'm on the board.
- 32:05Speaker 9: So we're tied.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I don't want to lose. All right. Man, see... I
- 32:09Speaker 3: was trying to give everybody a chance. Yeah, you should.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Because I was so quick on that first one. I
- 32:12Speaker 3: took a risk really good at this game. Okay. Guess
- 32:16Speaker 3: that bark. Is it a pit bull or a shih tzu?
- 32:19Speaker 3: Here we go. Sammy. Go ahead.
- 32:25Speaker 11: I don't know if this is one that's going to
- 32:28Speaker 11: trick us.
- 32:29Speaker 9: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Pit bull? It would be a pit bull, Sammy.
- 32:33Speaker 2: A pit bull.
- 32:34Speaker 3: She got it. Dammit. Three-way tie? All right. This is it.
- 32:38Speaker 8: All right.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Last clip. Try to win.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Is it a pit bull or is it a shih tzu?
- 32:43Speaker 4: I wasn't even in there. I was just enjoying the game.
- 32:49Speaker 6: Gina.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Gina.
- 32:50Speaker 13: Shih tzu.
- 32:51Speaker 3: No. Woody. Yeah, Woody. Pit bull. Pit bull. Yes.
- 32:59Speaker 9: Damn it.
- 33:00Speaker 3: That's a good one.
- 33:01Speaker 9: That one I really wasn't sure.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Good game.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Hey, uh, So here's a little thing about hypoallergenic dogs, right?
- 33:08Speaker 11: Okay.
- 33:08Speaker 2: This is from a pediatric allergist. It says, it's amusing
- 33:12Speaker 2: to me how many parents have been conditioned, guilted, into
- 33:16Speaker 2: including three little words and they tell me they have
- 33:18Speaker 2: a dog.
- 33:19Speaker 3: But it's hypoallergenic.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It's similar to when I ask parents if anyone smokes
- 33:23Speaker 2: cigarettes at home. Yes, but always outside.
- 33:25Speaker 4: And light cigarettes.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I'd like to set the record straight right now. No
- 33:29Speaker 2: parent should ever feel guilty about having a dog. You
- 33:32Speaker 2: are all hereby absolved. of any future need to state
- 33:35Speaker 2: it's just hypoallergenic, but it's a myth. About two thirds
- 33:38Speaker 2: of homes in the United States have at least one
- 33:40Speaker 2: pet and almost most of these have dogs. In addition
- 33:44Speaker 2: to 10 to 20% of all children and adults across
- 33:46Speaker 2: the world are allergic to dogs. That means there are
- 33:49Speaker 2: a lot of people that live with the very animal
- 33:51Speaker 2: that causes them the misery. Allergy symptoms include itching of
- 33:54Speaker 2: the nose, eye, sneezing, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Dog
- 33:57Speaker 2: dander is what causes symptoms of the allergy. It's not
- 34:00Speaker 2: the length, the style, the type, or shedding of the fur.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Dander comes from saliva, skin cells, and urine. So unless
- 34:08Speaker 2: your dog has no mouth, no skin, or doesn't pee,
- 34:11Speaker 2: it will release dander into the air. Right.
- 34:14Speaker 12: And so apparently the allergen is called CANF1, and then
- 34:17Speaker 12: there's CANF2, CANF3, and CANF6. And some dogs don't have
- 34:22Speaker 12: as much of those proteins. Because if a dog licks me,
- 34:24Speaker 12: I just get a rash, usually, wherever they licked me.
- 34:28Speaker 12: I'm like, Itches, but apparently some have less than others.
- 34:31Speaker 4: It's not the, I think what the allergist is saying here,
- 34:33Speaker 4: it's not, it's not really even guilting. It's just, that's
- 34:35Speaker 4: a sales technique.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 4: To use on people who don't do the research.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Yep, they said hypoallergenic dogs are a magical fantasy created
- 34:43Speaker 2: by breeders and marketers to, wait for it, sell more dogs.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Right, so yeah, your dog may have produced more fur,
- 34:52Speaker 4: which has more saliva, which gets on your skin, and
- 34:54Speaker 4: it may be more or less.
- 34:56Speaker 9: It's a loophole.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Now, the one thing I do like the idea of
- 34:59Speaker 2: are the ones that have the hair and not the
- 35:01Speaker 2: fur because, like, the shedding with dogs.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, your dog sheds like crazy, right? Yeah, she sheds.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Not as, see, and she's got longer hair, which I
- 35:11Speaker 2: don't mind as much as those dogs who have, like
- 35:13Speaker 2: your dog's menace have the really tiny short.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Tiny, tiny ones, yeah. Man, those things are like cactus.
- 35:19Speaker 5: A little tiny.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Man, you'll catch one of those. Oh, my God.
- 35:23Speaker 9: Like porcupine.
- 35:23Speaker 3: You thought you were just stabbed.
- 35:25Speaker 8: True.
- 35:25Speaker 2: And those little hairs, I think, are harder to clean
- 35:27Speaker 2: up than the longer ones.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Well, just get.
- 35:30Speaker 5: A Black Shore hair dog and you'll barely ever see.
- 35:32Speaker 3: The hair anywhere. Yeah, still feel it.
- 35:34Speaker 5: I can barely remember to open my mouth when I'm eating.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Like, you think I'm going to remember to bring a
- 35:39Speaker 3: canvas bag to go to the store?
- 35:40Speaker 9: No, I don't think you're going to remember.
- 35:41Speaker 1: It's a bloody show.
- 35:43Speaker 3: All right, so this is a question for... Not just
- 35:49Speaker 3: everybody in the room, but if you're listening right now.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Everybody in the world.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:52Speaker 2: We want to get your response. To Greg's question, was
- 35:58Speaker 2: it an overreaction?
- 36:00Speaker 3: Right. Yes. Well, you don't know that.
- 36:04Speaker 2: So listen to Greg's story here and then vote.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Oh, okay. And don't prejudge me. Let's hear Greg out first.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Let's hear all the stuff. I'll hear him out. Will ya? Yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 2: So we'll hear Greg out. This is the way it's
- 36:22Speaker 2: going to work. Everybody reserve comment.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Please. If you have questions, that's one thing. There you go.
- 36:28Speaker 3: I'm pretending not to know Greg.
- 36:31Speaker 2: If you have questions, ask questions. Then we'll let everybody
- 36:35Speaker 2: vote on the text, and then we'll come back with
- 36:38Speaker 2: our take and then the listeners' consensus.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Okay. All right. And I'm going to text everybody in
- 36:42Speaker 3: this room in just a moment to give you visual feedback.
- 36:46Speaker 3: proof of what i'm talking about and this is going
- 36:49Speaker 3: to come with a few prefaces i would preface it
- 36:51Speaker 3: with saw something and said something because that's what they
- 36:55Speaker 3: say if you see something say something imagine those cases
- 36:58Speaker 3: with all these red flags you hear about whatever a
- 37:02Speaker 3: shooter and then everybody in retrospect says oh my god
- 37:05Speaker 3: they actually talked about it they actually had a gun
- 37:08Speaker 3: they actually and then you kick yourself because you thought
- 37:11Speaker 3: i should have said something so In case something ever
- 37:15Speaker 3: came of this.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Can you send the picture so we can post it online?
- 37:17Speaker 3: I wanted to say this.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Yeah, because I think the audience needs to see.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Send me the picture. Okay, that's your judgment. I will
- 37:24Speaker 3: send you the picture in one second because I have
- 37:25Speaker 3: this in a group text. So what I did was
- 37:28Speaker 3: I saw this and I made an official report with
- 37:32Speaker 3: the Department of of Homeland Security. Whoa. Like, we're not
- 37:36Speaker 3: talking like grocery store drama. We're talking what I thought
- 37:40Speaker 3: maybe could be federal drama. Yeah. I conferred with a
- 37:42Speaker 3: couple people beforehand and said, is this an overreaction if
- 37:45Speaker 3: I report it? And they said, no, you should absolutely
- 37:48Speaker 3: report that.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Again, questions only.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Right. Then, here in the studio, I only told one
- 37:54Speaker 3: person about it and showed it to Gina. She nearly
- 37:57Speaker 3: fell off her chair and said, no, you did the
- 37:59Speaker 3: right thing. So here comes the photo. This is what
- 38:01Speaker 3: I saw. For all I know, It was a misunderstanding.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Maybe this means something else. Maybe it's supposed to be funny.
- 38:08Speaker 3: But it was an SUV in my neighborhood with a
- 38:12Speaker 3: massive sticker on the windshield that says Taliban. Massive. Okay.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Is that not weird to anybody?
- 38:24Speaker 9: From covering the windshield from one side to the other, correct?
- 38:27Speaker 3: A massive, massive decal. It says Taliban.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Taliban.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Did you get the photo? Yeah, I'm going to post it.
- 38:34Speaker 3: I'm going to take the license plate out.
- 38:37Speaker 9: Now, question. Is this somebody that lives near you?
- 38:41Speaker 3: Do you know? I don't know if it was temporary
- 38:44Speaker 3: because I haven't seen it in a couple of days,
- 38:47Speaker 3: but it was a house that had recently been sold.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Was this SUV sitting outside of a flight center?
- 38:54Speaker 3: No, it was not. Again, we get to ask questions.
- 38:59Speaker 3: This is a residential neighborhood.
- 39:01Speaker 9: Can you describe the car? What kind of car?
- 39:04Speaker 3: A large white GMC SUV.
- 39:08Speaker 9: Oh, not like a Mini Cooper?
- 39:09Speaker 1: No.
- 39:10Speaker 3: And the Taliban sticker was huge.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I just took the license plate out of the mix.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I'm going to post it on our Instagram right now.
- 39:19Speaker 3: And hold on. I found it to be very odd.
- 39:24Speaker 2: So was it an overreaction, Greg, calling Homeland Security?
- 39:28Speaker 9: Can you describe... because I'm trying to look at the picture,
- 39:31Speaker 9: but I really can't tell. Can you describe what the
- 39:33Speaker 9: images are on each side?
- 39:35Speaker 3: I was trying to figure that out myself. It kind
- 39:38Speaker 3: of looks like the Monopoly man.
- 39:40Speaker 9: Mr.
- 39:41Speaker 3: Moneybags? Yeah, I thought, like, is this some sort of
- 39:43Speaker 3: brand I'm not aware of? I mean, because.
- 39:50Speaker 5: i mean rappers would reference the taliban let me.
- 39:54Speaker 3: That's why i ask like is like the monopoly man
- 39:57Speaker 3: and then taliban is that a thing i mean as
- 40:00Speaker 3: far as i.
- 40:01Speaker 5: Can tell i mean i definitely sound good in a
- 40:03Speaker 5: song yeah it is the monopoly man which is used
- 40:07Speaker 5: by oh i see it a lot of artists.
- 40:11Speaker 9: Like they're running two different directions i see it now
- 40:14Speaker 9: okay um.
- 40:15Speaker 3: I couldn't tell if that was the Monopoly guy.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It is.
- 40:18Speaker 5: A hundred percent.
- 40:19Speaker 3: So again, this could be sheer ignorance on my side.
- 40:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Maybe it meant something like, oh, this means.
- 40:26Speaker 5: It could be a clothing line.
- 40:27Speaker 10: Right.
- 40:28Speaker 5: But it is odd.
- 40:30Speaker 3: It's odd. Don't you think that's weird? Now, Greg. Yeah.
- 40:34Speaker 5: There is a Corvette that's in my neighborhood that says
- 40:38Speaker 5: F Hamas with a bunch of. Like full on does not,
- 40:43Speaker 5: full on says it and it has a bunch of
- 40:45Speaker 5: American flags on it. Would you call Homeland Security on that? Well,
- 40:50Speaker 5: that's not a threat to the- That's like an anti-terrorism.
- 40:52Speaker 6: Right.
- 40:53Speaker 9: I don't think that's the same thing, but- That's exactly
- 40:55Speaker 9: the opposite.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Well, you would think that maybe that person might be
- 40:59Speaker 5: armed as well.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Well, like this one, if it said F the Taliban,
- 41:02Speaker 3: I wouldn't report it.
- 41:04Speaker 5: But would you think that, would you- Have like maybe
- 41:07Speaker 5: kind of like some kind of sense, like maybe that
- 41:10Speaker 5: person might be armed.
- 41:10Speaker 3: All right. Just it's posted. Probably. Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 2: It's posted on our Instagram story at the Woody show.
- 41:15Speaker 2: It's a picture of the white GMC SUV with this
- 41:19Speaker 2: Taliban thing across the top of the windshield. Greg called
- 41:23Speaker 2: Homeland Security about this car overreaction or did the right thing.
- 41:27Speaker 3: You can vote. Okay. You can vote there.
- 41:30Speaker 2: You can also text over to 22987.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Was it an overreaction? Did you notice? Or did Greg
- 41:36Speaker 3: do the right thing?
- 41:37Speaker 5: Do you notice that the license plate cover also has
- 41:41Speaker 5: a matching logo to that?
- 41:43Speaker 3: I did not. Yeah. This is just something I drove by.
- 41:45Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 5: It says four by four. So it might be a brand.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Okay. I mean, I hope it is. I hope I'm 100% wrong. Okay.
- 41:54Speaker 2: So was it an overreaction or did Greg do the
- 41:57Speaker 2: right thing? Text your vote over to 22987. We're going
- 41:59Speaker 2: to let those votes come in. Take a look at
- 42:01Speaker 2: it on our Instagram at The Woody Show on our
- 42:03Speaker 2: Instagram story. We'll let you know what the audience says.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Nice.
- 42:07Speaker 1: The Woody Show.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Greg wants to know, did he overreact when he was
- 42:12Speaker 2: out and he saw this big white SUV and like
- 42:16Speaker 2: a banner across the top part of the front windshield?
- 42:19Speaker 3: It just says Taliban. Pretty damn weird. What does Greg do?
- 42:24Speaker 3: Greg calls Homeland Security. That's right. See something, say something.
- 42:28Speaker 2: And he goes to report it. I asked everybody to
- 42:31Speaker 2: keep their their answer to themselves while we let people
- 42:35Speaker 2: go and text in and then also go on our
- 42:38Speaker 2: Instagram story. There's a picture of because Greg took a
- 42:42Speaker 2: picture of it. So we have a picture of you
- 42:43Speaker 2: could vote there. Do you think Greg overreacted by calling
- 42:47Speaker 2: the Department of Homeland Security? Which, by the way, he
- 42:49Speaker 2: said he called and was on hold and everything, and
- 42:51Speaker 2: so he could do it online, so he did that.
- 42:53Speaker 3: You ever hear anything back? Nothing, not one word. A
- 42:55Speaker 3: lot of questions about that. No, not one word. No follow-up?
- 42:57Speaker 3: When you file it, you put your email, phone number, everything,
- 43:01Speaker 3: and I heard nothing back.
- 43:03Speaker 12: But you gave them their address and their license plate number.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Where did you see it? Where did this happen? When
- 43:10Speaker 3: did this happen?
- 43:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I've called Homeland Security before. Yeah, well,
- 43:16Speaker 5: involving the show. Because we were accidentally getting tagged in
- 43:22Speaker 5: some photos. And it was middle school kids. One of
- 43:26Speaker 5: them on their social media had a gun. And they
- 43:29Speaker 5: were posting stuff like at school and it was like
- 43:31Speaker 5: some small town. So I was able to like, yeah.
- 43:34Speaker 5: So I was able to like figure out where it was.
- 43:36Speaker 5: And then I called Homeland Security and gave them the, uh,
- 43:39Speaker 5: the social media profiles.
- 43:40Speaker 3: I mean, I agree with that. That's yeah. Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Gina Grad, overreaction or no?
- 43:46Speaker 9: I do not think it's an overreaction.
- 43:48Speaker 12: The onus is not on us to go digging around
- 43:51Speaker 12: seeing if this is like a band name or a
- 43:53Speaker 12: clothing brand. Like if you're putting that on your car,
- 43:56Speaker 12: that's something that's a risky thing that's going to get
- 44:00Speaker 12: people worried and have them do what Greg did.
- 44:03Speaker 9: So I don't think it's an overreaction.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I say overreaction because if you're the Taliban, are you...
- 44:09Speaker 2: Driving around in a car that says Taliban?
- 44:11Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 44:11Speaker 3: No, you're not.
- 44:12Speaker 9: People are pretty dumb, though.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I think the whole point of being an embedded terrorist
- 44:19Speaker 2: is to stay on the DL. Why would you be
- 44:22Speaker 2: driving around? I would have never called Homeland Security on that.
- 44:25Speaker 3: I think it's a total overreaction. Did I think this
- 44:27Speaker 3: was a member of the Taliban?
- 44:29Speaker 6: No.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Well, then why call Homeland Security? Because I don't know
- 44:33Speaker 3: what is behind it. Don't know what? Exactly. You're making
- 44:37Speaker 3: my point. I know. I'm making a point. Why would
- 44:39Speaker 3: you have a Taliban sticker? Not that you're in the Taliban,
- 44:42Speaker 3: but maybe that you support them or maybe that you're
- 44:43Speaker 3: inspired by them.
- 44:44Speaker 5: I think we're leaving out a couple of other factors.
- 44:47Speaker 5: This is why I say it's an overreaction. I mean,
- 44:49Speaker 5: that's the only response I can give, Greg. But because
- 44:54Speaker 5: if you look at the photo and there is a
- 44:55Speaker 5: piece missing from our Instagram that also the license plate cover.
- 45:00Speaker 5: has the matching Monopoly Man logos that are next to
- 45:04Speaker 5: the text that says Taliban.
- 45:05Speaker 3: I believe it.
- 45:06Speaker 5: I would look at it personally and say, that's a
- 45:09Speaker 5: poor choice of words, but the cartoons around the text
- 45:15Speaker 5: and the matching license plate, I'm like, okay, this is just.
- 45:17Speaker 2: For the sake of argument.
- 45:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Did you even notice the license plate frame? No.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Okay, so for the sake of argument, man, it's had
- 45:24Speaker 2: you just seen the windshield.
- 45:26Speaker 5: With the Monopoly Man next to it, I would say
- 45:30Speaker 5: poor choice of words and just would have moved on.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Okay, so you're voting overreaction.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Because it's my only option. It sounds harsh, but yes, overreaction.
- 45:39Speaker 11: I do not think this is an overreaction. I think
- 45:42Speaker 11: that it was smart because why not say something? There's
- 45:45Speaker 11: no harm in it. They can look into it. And
- 45:46Speaker 11: I would be worried if I saw that on my
- 45:49Speaker 11: street because I would be like, who are these people
- 45:51Speaker 11: and what's going on and.
- 45:52Speaker 14: Why is this here?
- 45:53Speaker 9: It's for sure concerning. And I don't really want this
- 45:56Speaker 9: as a neighbor.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 45:58Speaker 3: I would be concerned.
- 45:58Speaker 14: So I would report something.
- 46:00Speaker 12: And I know for a fact, because this happened to
- 46:02Speaker 12: my friend's kid, that they will check in on you
- 46:05Speaker 12: for less. You know, like like like we've seen even
- 46:08Speaker 12: in the news, like the kid had a Pop-Tart and
- 46:10Speaker 12: he bit it. So it looked like a guy like
- 46:12Speaker 12: people will check in on you for less. This is
- 46:14Speaker 12: pretty disturbing.
- 46:14Speaker 2: OK, so, again, if you want to see the picture,
- 46:16Speaker 2: it's on our Instagram story at the Woody show. And
- 46:19Speaker 2: you can vote there. Here's some of the texts that
- 46:21Speaker 2: are coming in. Yeah, Greg wanted to know. We're not
- 46:24Speaker 2: putting Greg on the spot. Greg wanted to bring this up.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Well, sure. And it already happened. And I agree with Sammy.
- 46:29Speaker 3: No harm, no foul. Look, if it's a joke, if
- 46:32Speaker 3: it's a brand name, if it's a new trend on TikTok, fine.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 46:37Speaker 2: This one said, I say he did the right thing.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Most likely they're looking for attention and Greg hooked them
- 46:44Speaker 2: up right.
- 46:45Speaker 9: There you go.
- 46:45Speaker 3: They wanted attention. They got attention.
- 46:49Speaker 2: This one says, even if someone is trying to be
- 46:51Speaker 2: edgy and funny, it's the kind of thing that's only
- 46:53Speaker 2: going to invite scrutiny.
- 46:55Speaker 5: True.
- 46:55Speaker 2: And stuff like this comes with predictable consequences. Greg did
- 46:59Speaker 2: the right thing. He also should have called local law enforcement.
- 47:02Speaker 2: People said, yeah, why would you not call just the cops?
- 47:05Speaker 3: I don't know. Why Homeland Security? Overreaction.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Greg gets mad when they call public intoxication while walking
- 47:10Speaker 2: his dog drinking one beer.
- 47:12Speaker 9: I don't think that was a great argument.
- 47:16Speaker 3: All right.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I guess maybe because you're kind of seen as like
- 47:18Speaker 2: a You're like an anti-cop. Just let people do whatever.
- 47:24Speaker 2: They're not harming anybody.
- 47:26Speaker 9: Yeah, but he's saying this could harm somebody. Right, and
- 47:28Speaker 9: we don't know that.
- 47:29Speaker 3: I'm guessing.
- 47:29Speaker 12: If something happens, you're trying to make sense out of it.
- 47:33Speaker 2: There's been a trend lately with some people putting controversial
- 47:35Speaker 2: words or symbols on vehicles just to get reactions or attention.
- 47:39Speaker 2: It's for TikTok videos.
- 47:41Speaker 3: That's probably it.
- 47:42Speaker 2: I use Google Lens to search the feature, and there's
- 47:45Speaker 2: no indication that this is any sort of brand or company.
- 47:48Speaker 2: In either case, it's weird that someone would want to
- 47:50Speaker 2: display that on their vehicle. I mean, if they're going
- 47:53Speaker 2: to have a decal like that, they should expect to
- 47:55Speaker 2: get calls about it. I'm curious to know what their
- 47:58Speaker 2: intent was, but I don't think anybody will ever know.
- 48:01Speaker 2: This one says, Greg, you're a pussy ass bitch. This
- 48:05Speaker 2: other one says, saw a car with Nazi symbols on
- 48:08Speaker 2: the rims here in Utah. Not an overreaction, but we
- 48:12Speaker 2: are protected by our freedom of speech rights.
- 48:15Speaker 3: This one says, overreaction. Why would terrorists advertise?
- 48:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Greg should have called police. Homeland security is a bit much.
- 48:24Speaker 2: He's dramatic. I vote he shouldn't have called. Could have
- 48:26Speaker 2: been just an edgy merch brand.
- 48:28Speaker 3: See, I thought police would be... An overreaction.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Greg, you did the right thing. It's not for you
- 48:33Speaker 2: to determine if it's legit or a joke or a brand.
- 48:37Speaker 2: That's their job. They'll figure it out. That's what I said.
- 48:39Speaker 2: So there's a lot of that. Now, let me refresh
- 48:42Speaker 2: the votes on our Instagram story and see what you
- 48:45Speaker 2: guys said there.
- 48:48Speaker 3: And just updated.
- 48:50Speaker 2: 61% of the vote, Greg, says that you did the
- 48:54Speaker 2: right thing.
- 48:55Speaker 4: There you go.
- 48:57Speaker 2: 61 to 39.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Well, thank you for the feedback. It's just it's I
- 49:01Speaker 3: don't care what side you're on because I ask a
- 49:03Speaker 3: question and a question can get a yes or no answer.
- 49:07Speaker 3: So I appreciate the feedback a lot. But I think
- 49:09Speaker 3: 100 percent should agree. It's pretty damn weird. It's weird.
- 49:13Speaker 3: It's weird. I don't know why. That's a curious choice.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I don't know why most people do what they do
- 49:17Speaker 2: when it comes to stupid or silly stuff.
- 49:20Speaker 9: But like a lot of people said on the text
- 49:21Speaker 9: this person obviously wants attention.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Well yeah you got the attention and like.
- 49:25Speaker 12: You said about cops that calling the cop seems more
- 49:28Speaker 12: immediate and calling what you did is like just look
- 49:30Speaker 12: into this when you have right just.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Like almost in a way like I did my part.
- 49:35Speaker 3: I thought it was insanely strange.
- 49:37Speaker 12: Well, I know there's a non-emergency number, but cops does
- 49:39Speaker 12: feel more like emergency.
- 49:40Speaker 3: I would just look at her and be like, that's stupid. Yeah, dumb.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Did you wait around to see who got in? Into
- 49:46Speaker 3: the car? No, no, no, no, no.
- 49:48Speaker 9: Like a little girl.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Yeah, right. Some 16-year-old.
- 49:52Speaker 2: They didn't come out with like a tremendous amount of fertilizer?
- 49:55Speaker 11: No.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Other things like that. Yeah, nothing? No, it was very weird.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Yeah. The Woody Show.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Greg is mad at me, you guys.
- 50:13Speaker 8: Why?
- 50:13Speaker 3: No, that's not what I said. What did I say?
- 50:15Speaker 3: You said you're disappointed. As a father, I know what
- 50:18Speaker 3: that means.
- 50:20Speaker 9: I'm not mad, but I am disappointed.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I'm not mad.
- 50:22Speaker 3: I'm disappointed.
- 50:23Speaker 8: Why?
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so don't say I'm mad. I'm not. He's upset. Yeah.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Because I said that he... I voted overreaction to his question.
- 50:32Speaker 2: I was a little afraid to say the same thing, too.
- 50:34Speaker 3: No, I'm not.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Because I didn't want him to be upset with me.
- 50:36Speaker 2: I'm not afraid because he asked.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. I'm just disappointed, not mad. Because Woody and
- 50:42Speaker 3: I normally agree on almost everything. Pretty close. Pretty close. Yeah,
- 50:46Speaker 3: we're pretty close. We're pretty close lockstep. And if this
- 50:50Speaker 3: was in your neighborhood, you wouldn't give it a second thought,
- 50:53Speaker 3: a second glance, nothing?
- 50:55Speaker 2: Not when it comes to calling any type of authority.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I would think it's trashy. I think it would look stupid.
- 51:01Speaker 2: I go, that's a dumb choice.
- 51:02Speaker 3: But it's beyond trashy. It's a terrorist group. It's weird.
- 51:06Speaker 3: And again, I could be... A thousand percent wrong. We
- 51:10Speaker 3: got a few texts saying that it could be this.
- 51:12Speaker 3: And when I read those, that made sense. But I don't.
- 51:15Speaker 9: Think it's up to you to do the digging to
- 51:16Speaker 9: figure that out.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 51:18Speaker 2: The question was, was it an overreaction to call or
- 51:21Speaker 2: to contact Homeland Security because somebody had a Taliban window
- 51:25Speaker 2: decal on their car?
- 51:27Speaker 5: We're leaving out a lot of context that has Monopoly
- 51:30Speaker 5: Man logos everywhere.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Side by side. We didn't leave it out because you
- 51:33Speaker 3: could see the picture. It's on our Instagram.
- 51:35Speaker 5: Also left out of the picture is the license plate
- 51:37Speaker 5: frame that also has the same logos that says 4x4.
- 51:40Speaker 5: But I don't think that cancels out.
- 51:43Speaker 2: That's why we said Greg didn't even see that part.
- 51:45Speaker 9: And I don't think that cancels out what it says.
- 51:47Speaker 3: No, it doesn't.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Anyway, 323 texting over. Hey guys, I wish I could
- 51:50Speaker 2: call to explain better, but the Taliban sticker is a
- 51:52Speaker 2: Mexican thing with the whole cartel situation. They call the
- 51:56Speaker 2: goons or little cartel foot soldiers Taliban.
- 52:00Speaker 3: In Spanish.
- 52:01Speaker 2: So being part of the Hispanic community, I hear it
- 52:04Speaker 2: all the time. Even in the narco cordo music, they
- 52:08Speaker 2: call or they mention Taliban.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Yep.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Just see it as equivalent, like a dumbass kid putting gangster,
- 52:16Speaker 2: like a gangster sticker on their truck. Well, that's why
- 52:18Speaker 2: cartels are all about money, explaining the monopoly guy.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:21Speaker 5: When we started the segment, I was like, yeah, it's
- 52:23Speaker 5: like reference a lot of music.
- 52:25Speaker 12: But I'm going to keep saying this because I think
- 52:27Speaker 12: it makes sense, especially when talking about Greg, who that
- 52:30Speaker 12: might not be his world. I don't think it's up
- 52:32Speaker 12: to Greg to figure that out. I think if it's
- 52:34Speaker 12: if it it's like that's weird. That's something concerning that
- 52:38Speaker 12: your neighbor has that you might want to check that out.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 52:44Speaker 9: I don't think it's up to you to do all of.
- 52:45Speaker 3: What it has cartoons next to it. And it's advertised
- 52:47Speaker 3: on a car. Again, that's why I'm questioning it. It's weird. Yeah,
- 52:52Speaker 3: it is weird.
- 52:53Speaker 2: It is tacky.
- 52:54Speaker 3: It is trash. That's what you're not getting. It's so
- 52:56Speaker 3: effing strange. That's the consensus. Wait, are you yelling at
- 53:01Speaker 3: me now?
- 53:02Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Are you yelling at me? No, like we're agreeing, but
- 53:06Speaker 3: we're saying different things. It is very weird. We all
- 53:09Speaker 3: agree on weird.
- 53:10Speaker 2: It's a curious choice.
- 53:11Speaker 3: And it's not like it said gangster. It said Taliban.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 53:17Speaker 3: And my Mexican partner didn't know about this thing.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Well, let's also admit he's kind of, you know, he's
- 53:25Speaker 2: not really in these streets.
- 53:27Speaker 9: No, but he is from Mexico.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Okay. But off the air, I'll correct you on that. Oh,
- 53:32Speaker 3: he's in these streets? I didn't know that. Wow.
- 53:35Speaker 9: I'd actually like to know more about that.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I will gladly tell you, but not publicly. Okay. All right.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Good to know.
- 53:43Speaker 2: It was the question of, was it an overreaction calling
- 53:45Speaker 2: the authorities? Not a question of taste or tackiness or
- 53:50Speaker 2: any of those other things.
- 53:51Speaker 3: But I also think saying tacky is an understatement.
- 53:53Speaker 9: Well, tacky is like playboy ears.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I see tacky is because it was just for attention.
- 53:58Speaker 2: In some way, shape, or form, it's for attention.
- 54:00Speaker 3: And they got attention. They got attention. Which they got.
- 54:03Speaker 2: That's what the texter had pointed out.
- 54:04Speaker 3: It's beyond tacky. If you want to.
- 54:06Speaker 2: See this vehicle that Greg saw that he called Homeland
- 54:08Speaker 2: Security about, you could see it. It's on our Instagram story,
- 54:11Speaker 2: at The Woody Show. 877-44-WOODY. Text over to 22987. We've
- 54:17Speaker 2: got some more Woody Show for you next. The Woody
- 54:20Speaker 2: Show will be right back.
- 54:21Speaker 3: I don't care why you listen. If you listen because
- 54:24Speaker 3: you love it, great.
- 54:25Speaker 8: If you listen because you hate.
- 54:26Speaker 10: It, great. As long as you're listening.
- 54:28Speaker 3: This is The Woody Show. Another lawsuit in the news. Man,
- 54:32Speaker 3: I hate this.
- 54:34Speaker 2: A woman is suing the Phoenix Police Department after she
- 54:36Speaker 2: was wrongfully arrested for a DUI that she got in
- 54:39Speaker 2: downtown Phoenix. Again, this is that whole situation of like
- 54:42Speaker 2: you are being convicted of something that.
- 54:46Speaker 3: You really didn't do. Yeah.
- 54:48Speaker 2: So this is the day after her wedding. She was
- 54:51Speaker 2: stone cold sober. She legitimately was not drunk. She wasn't
- 54:55Speaker 2: on no kind of drug or any other substance. She says, quote,
- 54:59Speaker 2: you're going to hate this, Greg. She says, quote, I
- 55:02Speaker 2: seen a cop car behind me.
- 55:04Speaker 8: Sure.
- 55:05Speaker 1: And yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 3: And I seen the lights at first.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Now, here's how that first I have clips. These are
- 55:11Speaker 2: this is from an ABC News report. This is the
- 55:14Speaker 2: first interaction that she had with the police officer.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Your lights are off.
- 55:18Speaker 4: In the back.
- 55:18Speaker 9: Just so you know, you don't have any lights.
- 55:20Speaker 14: I thought you were saying I ran a lot. You
- 55:22Speaker 14: did run a lot.
- 55:23Speaker 16: This is the moment aspiring nurse Brianna Longoria says changed
- 55:27Speaker 16: her life forever.
- 55:28Speaker 8: Are you on any sort of medications?
- 55:30Speaker 16: The body camera footage from the Phoenix Police Department shows
- 55:33Speaker 16: Longoria stopped by police After claiming she ran a red light,
- 55:37Speaker 16: Longoria says even though she blew triple zeros on the
- 55:40Speaker 16: breathalyzer and passed an eye test, police still arrested her
- 55:43Speaker 16: and charged her with DUI. The officer reportedly suspected marijuana impairment.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Oh, I am?
- 55:52Speaker 6: Really?
- 55:52Speaker 16: And back at the precinct, another officer conducted tests and
- 55:55Speaker 16: was heard saying Longoria's results were, quote, super in the norms.
- 55:59Speaker 16: In a lawsuit filed by Longoria.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Yeah. Super in the norms. Yeah, dude, it's like mega
- 56:04Speaker 3: Uber ultra in the norms.
- 56:05Speaker 9: Super in the norms, guys.
- 56:06Speaker 3: It's like nuclear in the norms.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:09Speaker 3: It's nuclear norm. Super in the norm.
- 56:12Speaker 9: Super in the norm.
- 56:13Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 2: So in the video, you see her. She's doing all
- 56:16Speaker 2: the roadside tests and just looking at her. And what
- 56:19Speaker 2: do I know? But just as an outsider, doesn't have
- 56:22Speaker 2: any kind of formal training. She's quote normal. This chick
- 56:24Speaker 2: looks like she's killing all these tests. And they still
- 56:27Speaker 2: brought her in. They asked her to do the blood test.
- 56:32Speaker 2: She goes, I got nothing to hide. Do whatever it
- 56:34Speaker 2: is that's necessary.
- 56:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:35Speaker 2: And she goes, up until the point that they took
- 56:37Speaker 2: me into the jail, I realized that maybe this is
- 56:38Speaker 2: a little bit much.
- 56:39Speaker 9: Yeah, because she was so chill that she goes, you're
- 56:41Speaker 9: under arrest.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Oh, I am? Did she have a Wii shirt on
- 56:44Speaker 3: or something?
- 56:45Speaker 16: Tests and was heard saying Longoria's results were, quote, super
- 56:48Speaker 16: in the norms. In a lawsuit filed by Longoria, she
- 56:51Speaker 16: claims that Phoenix police enforced a de facto DUI quota,
- 56:55Speaker 16: which she alleges pressures officers into making DUI arrests or
- 56:59Speaker 16: face employment consequences.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Okay, so this brings in another interesting part of this story.
- 57:05Speaker 2: And there's more audio that goes along with it. So,
- 57:08Speaker 2: you know, of course, the officer, the arresting officer in
- 57:10Speaker 2: this case is talking to another one of her colleagues
- 57:12Speaker 2: there at the police station. And listen to what she
- 57:15Speaker 2: says here.
- 57:15Speaker 16: Longoria's attorney obtained this body camera footage of an officer
- 57:19Speaker 16: appearing to express concerns to the arresting officer right after
- 57:23Speaker 16: Longoria's arrest.
- 57:24Speaker 8: They're going to kick me off squad if I don't
- 57:26Speaker 8: get a DUI. But I seriously pulled like. But I'm like,
- 57:34Speaker 8: I can't just conjure one. I have tried. You can't.
- 57:38Speaker 9: All right.
- 57:41Speaker 2: So they're going to kick me off squad if I
- 57:42Speaker 2: don't get a DUI.
- 57:43Speaker 9: They are now.
- 57:44Speaker 2: And she's been pulling all these people over trying to
- 57:46Speaker 2: get one.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Oh, right.
- 57:48Speaker 2: And she's like, I can't just conjure one up. And
- 57:50Speaker 2: the other woman goes, yes, you can.
- 57:52Speaker 3: You can. You have a badge. You can. You bet
- 57:56Speaker 3: you can. So gory cocaine right here.
- 58:00Speaker 2: This is my nightmare fuel yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 3: For sure should be everybody's nightmare yeah.
- 58:06Speaker 2: That dude yeah and this woman and i was watching
- 58:09Speaker 2: the video of her interaction with the police officer she
- 58:11Speaker 2: was being super cool super chill she was not being
- 58:14Speaker 2: one of these defined it's like i don't have to
- 58:16Speaker 2: do this and i'm not gonna like she was like
- 58:17Speaker 2: just all right fine whatever being super norms yeah she's
- 58:20Speaker 2: being super norms yeah i'm not anti-statement phoenix police says
- 58:25Speaker 2: I was about.
- 58:26Speaker 5: To say, I'm not anti-police, but I would love for
- 58:29Speaker 5: these people to be.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Oh, made examples of them?
- 58:31Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure.
- 58:32Speaker 16: In a statement, Phoenix Police says.
- 58:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 58:35Speaker 2: The Phoenix Police Department looked into.
- 58:37Speaker 3: It, you guys. Oh, I feel better.
- 58:39Speaker 16: In a statement, Phoenix Police says this case has been
- 58:42Speaker 16: referred to and is currently under review by the Professional
- 58:44Speaker 16: Standards Bureau. And the Phoenix Police Department does not have
- 58:48Speaker 16: DUI quotas. As for the red light that Longoria allegedly ran,
- 58:52Speaker 16: the dash cam footage shows the light was green as
- 58:55Speaker 16: she was being pulled over for what the officer said
- 58:57Speaker 16: was red. That traffic citation later voided.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:00Speaker 2: So the whole reason she told her over the first
- 59:02Speaker 2: place saying, oh, you went through that red light and
- 59:04Speaker 2: it wasn't even red.
- 59:06Speaker 9: Yeah, so therefore everything else.
- 59:07Speaker 3: She is clearly when she says that, hey, man, I
- 59:09Speaker 3: really need to get one of these.
- 59:10Speaker 16: Longoria's attorney obtained this body camera footage of an officer
- 59:13Speaker 16: appearing to express concerns to the arresting officer right after
- 59:17Speaker 16: Longoria's arrest.
- 59:18Speaker 8: They're going to kick me off squad if I don't
- 59:20Speaker 8: get a DUI. but I seriously pulled like.
- 59:24Speaker 2: So many people. I've invented red lights that weren't red.
- 59:28Speaker 2: I tried, trust me.
- 59:29Speaker 3: She's done all these things trying to. Guys, we don't
- 59:33Speaker 3: have photos on paper.
- 59:34Speaker 5: It's just a verbal thing.
- 59:35Speaker 3: It's an unspoken thing. Yeah, what is that about? Are
- 59:39Speaker 3: there or are there not quotas? I don't know.
- 59:42Speaker 12: I guess it's just, it's probability and statistics. Like, well,
- 59:45Speaker 12: if you live in this area and there's this many people,
- 59:47Speaker 12: there should be this many people.
- 59:49Speaker 9: Drunk, you know, like.
- 59:49Speaker 5: But everybody says, oh, at the end of the month,
- 59:51Speaker 5: look out. I mean, there is a stretch of highway
- 59:54Speaker 5: that I drive. And at the end of the month,
- 59:56Speaker 5: I see way more police there. And I, again, the
- 59:59Speaker 5: quota thing might be real, might not be real, but
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: for some reason, I That week, there's so many more
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: police on that highway.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Everybody's got objectives, goals that get set. And I'm sure
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: they rely on X number of dollars coming in on
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: traffic violations or different things to make up the budget
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: for the police department. And then whoever, chief of police,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: I don't know who that would even be. They're responsible,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: the superintendent or whatever is responsible for making sure that
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: that number gets... And they go, hey guys.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Be extra.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: hypervigilant for, you know, speeders and people.
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Wink, wink.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: So, yeah, maybe that's where the quote quota comes in.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: And again, like do the officers hit the beginning, hit
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: the streets in the beginning of the month knowing, well,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: this month I got to get 40 speeding tickets citations.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:00:49Speaker 11: And if you're not pulling people over, does it look
- 1:00:51Speaker 11: like you're not doing your job? Like, could you just
- 1:00:53Speaker 11: be sitting in the squad car, not doing anything? And
- 1:00:56Speaker 11: it's like, well, you haven't given a ticket out to anyone.
- 1:00:58Speaker 14: What have you been.
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: Doing all month?
- 1:01:00Speaker 12: And that's the thing it's like that's what I'm saying
- 1:01:02Speaker 12: like mathematically you should have pulled over this many people
- 1:01:05Speaker 12: so that's kind of what they're trying to hit I'm
- 1:01:06Speaker 12: guessing so.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: This woman she's got a slam dunk case you want
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: to arrest oh I am.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Yeah oh okay and it wasn't even a red light.
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: Sure The Woody Show Woody, Greg, Menace, Gina Grand yeah
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: our video producer his name is Vaughn hi Vaughn.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Yeah what's up everybody what's up Vaughn So, as I
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: was walking through the hallway during the commercial break, after
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: we were talking about that woman who's suing the Phoenix
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Police Department, she got picked up for a DUI, even
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: though she wasn't drunk at all. 0.00 on the breathalyzer.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: That is sober as you can be. She did the
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: blood test.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: What was it? Super norms.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: Super in the norms. Super in the norms. Yeah.
- 1:01:54Speaker 9: Totes super norms.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Or whatever.
- 1:01:56Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: And then there was the clip of the police officer...
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Talking to the arresting officer, talking to this other woman
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: about how she needs to get some DUIs.
- 1:02:05Speaker 16: Longoria's attorney obtained this body camera footage of an officer
- 1:02:09Speaker 16: appearing to express concerns to the arresting officer right after
- 1:02:13Speaker 16: Longoria's arrest.
- 1:02:14Speaker 8: They're going to kick me off squad if I don't
- 1:02:16Speaker 8: get a DUI. But I seriously pulled like.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: But I'm like.
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: I can't just conjure one up. I have tried.
- 1:02:27Speaker 15: You can.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: You can. I've tried. You sure can. Try harder. Yeah.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: So anyway, we're talking about that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: And then during the break, I go out in the
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: hallway walking past where Vaughn's all set up. And he goes, hey, man,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: I got pulled over. So let's play a game. Why
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: did Vaughn get pulled over?
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: That's a good question. Why did Vaughn get pulled over?
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: I mean, everybody's first guess is because black.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: But.
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: I have a second guess.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Here's the thing.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: That was my first guess.
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: Mine was smiling too much.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: I mean, what was.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: So the reason they initially pulled you over wasn't... I mean,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: what did they tell you, at least?
- 1:03:03Speaker 7: The initial thing was for a broken taillight.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Broken taillight. Okay. That's the easy one.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Which could also be found under driving while black.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: Yes, that's for sure.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: And then.
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: How did the conversation go from there? Let me go
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: back real quick just because it's part of the story.
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: So about a year and a half ago, my car
- 1:03:20Speaker 7: got into an accident from somebody who was not me driving.
- 1:03:23Speaker 7: So the insurance couldn't cover it. So it hasn't been
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: fixed yet. And that's why the taillight's broken.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: So it actually is broken. It actually is broken, yes.
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: Okay, so I'm on the way to a friend's house
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: to see if he's home. He lives on the side
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: of the street, not on the side of the street,
- 1:03:38Speaker 7: but in an apartment building on the lowest level. And
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: I'm looking to see if he's home. And I swerve
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: a little bit. That's when the cops are like, oh,
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: this dude's swerving. This taillight is out. So they pull
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: me over.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Boom.
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: I pull over immediately. And they're like, hey, what's up?
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: You were swerving back there. Your taillight is showing it's
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: white instead of red for the brake light. Like you
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: have issues with your car. What's going on? And, uh,
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: then he's like, um, and also I smell a strong
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: odor of freshly burnt cannabis.
- 1:04:07Speaker 10: Well, I get that same whiff when I walk by
- 1:04:16Speaker 10: our office.
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: And he's like, uh, have you been smoking? And I'm like,
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: I smoked about an hour ago and I'm not going
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: to lie. You know, I did about an hour ago, uh,
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: Not while driving. I was at a poetry event and
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: there'll be pizza. So, you know, you got to smoke
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: before you get there.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: Super low dose too. Yeah, super low dose. It was
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: very loud actually.
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: So he's like, all right, get up, get out of
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: the car and we're going to do some DUI testing
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: on you. So they do the count to 30. So
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: you have to tilt your head back, close your eyes
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: and count to 30 at the same time. So in
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: my head, I'm like one, 1,000 to 1,000. Dang it,
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: how am I going to get out of here? 3,000, 1,000, 4,000.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: So just count to 30?
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: Count to 30, yeah. But number one, the anxiety of
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: being pulled over is one of the ones going to
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: bring your adrenaline up. And then also being a little high,
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: I skipped a few numbers while I was thinking.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: In my head. You couldn't count to 30? I could.
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: So once I got to 30, I waited another second
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: or so and opened my eyes.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: He was like, all right. That was 30 seconds. You
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: got it.
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: You know, how'd you do it? And I told him,
- 1:05:24Speaker 7: one 1,000, two 1,000, boom. Go through more tests, the
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: balance test. You know, you had to put your foot out,
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: up six inches, and straight out.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: You're like Justin Timberlake. Yes, that's the one.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Like, even if you're sober, some people just have rotten balance.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: That's me.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Exactly, yeah.
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: So about 18 seconds into that, I began doing a
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: little rocking back and forth.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: Wobbling.
- 1:05:44Speaker 16: Wobbling.
- 1:05:44Speaker 7: Had to keep myself up, but kept myself up and everything.
- 1:05:47Speaker 7: And got through all the tests and everything. And at
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: the end of it, the guy looks at his partner
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: and is like, what do you think? And his partner
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: shakes his head and is like, Nope, he's totes good, dog.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Oh, sweet. Totes norm.
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: Totes norm, dog.
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: I thought you were going to have to give out
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: some fellatio or something.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Yeah, so no ticket, no nothing. No ticket.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Not even for the broken taillight, huh?
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: No, he comes up to me at the end. He
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: looks at me and is like, how high is your tolerance, dude?
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: You don't want to talk.
- 1:06:18Speaker 7: So you ran into somebody that's like, chill. I got
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: some cool cops. Luckily, it was not these chicks who
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: were trying to get their quota.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: So they can't. I guess.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I mean, if you could, you told him, yeah, I
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: smoked about an hour ago. They can't just pick you
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: up for that. They can give you the test because
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: of that, because then they think that there's a chance
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: you could be impaired, impaired to the point where, yeah,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: you couldn't do one of the. So they have to
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: give you either.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: They don't have. I was just reading about this.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: They don't yet have a breathalyzer type thing for weed.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: They were working on one. I thought they were currently
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: working on it.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: Yeah, here it is.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: But that stays in your system.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: A research team over at Virginia Commonwealth University has introduced
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: a prototype for a new type of breathalyzer. While the
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: ones that are currently available are used to test for alcohol,
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: this new one would instead test for marijuana.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Uh-oh, buddy.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: It's small, looks like an asthma inhaler. And the thing
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: about it, it relies on 3D printed parts and designed
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: to work within minutes without the need of a lab.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: It also features a mouthpiece that collects the breath sample,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: a cartridge where the chemical reactions take place, and a
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: detection chamber that will show the results. Still in the
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: testing phase, but they said it could be perfected and
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: put to use in the next couple of years.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: And also, don't you have like, Not to put you
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: on blast, but your registration, not legit either.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: That's also a problem. What are you doing, man?
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: I'm like, why are you giving yourself so many options
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: to get pulled over? What's wrong with your registration?
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: It's just not current? It's not current. I had a
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: lot of parking tickets and I got to pay those
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: off before you can. Oh, you haven't paid those either.
- 1:08:00Speaker 14: You're not in jail right now.
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: Yeah. Vaughn's going to call you from jail one day.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: I've been here long enough to get white privilege guys.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: All right. But I'm working on it.
- 1:08:13Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: The counting to 30 thing. You, you lean your head
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: back and then you have to close your eyes in
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: your head. You don't say it out loud. Right. And
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: then you, Oh, you do it in your head. Oh,
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: so they time it. Oh, I see. So they time it, yeah.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: And they say do it for approximately 30 seconds. Yeah,
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: you count to 30. Never heard of that. The 30 seconds, right? Yeah,
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: that one I've not heard of. I've heard of.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Counting backwards I've heard about you know where you put
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: your head back but then you have your arms out
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: to your side and you have to like touch your.
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: Nose did that one too did that one did you
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: nail that one oh yeah nailed it for.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Sure did they do the one where they you follow
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: you gotta follow the.
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: Pen with your eyes yeah I watch a lot of
- 1:08:46Speaker 7: body cam videos I know they're looking for certain things
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: let's do it.
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: Let's do it we're doing it let it all go
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: in I did it oh crap yeah the woody show Well.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Back in 2005.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: They say that people spoke nearly 17,000 words a day. Okay.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: That was in 2005.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: By 2019, this was a study, it was like two
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: universities teamed up and, you know, again, they looked at
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: it back in 2005. And now that number has dropped
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: by 28%. People on average speaking only 12,000 words per day.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: I believe it.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Now, the biggest reason for that, obviously, shift in technology,
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: especially with the rise of, you know, text messaging and DM.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: And I remember how dumb I thought text messaging was
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: when people first started doing it.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: Well, it was difficult.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: It was because it was like four, four, four, two, one, two, two, four, four, seven, seven.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Just to start, you know, get to the letter that
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: you need.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: It took forever to type out a message.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: But once you can bang them out.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: Yeah, like a typewriter.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Or like a QWERTY keyboard.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Life-changing. Yeah, that was different. Then I got.
- 1:09:52Speaker 12: I always prided myself on being able to do the
- 1:09:54Speaker 12: old school one without looking. Because that's how often I
- 1:09:57Speaker 12: was doing it.
- 1:09:57Speaker 9: Because there were buttons, too.
- 1:09:58Speaker 14: But you got to use T9. Everyone knew that.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: But I got pretty good at it.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: With the old school way? Yeah, I got pretty fast
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: at that.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: The other thing I thought was going to be dumb
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: and go nowhere shows how.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: Dumb I am. The iPad.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Remember when the iPad came? We were all doing the
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: show together. I'm like, they rolled out the iPad.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: I'm like, how stupid.
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: Why did you think it was stupid?
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Well, because, okay, when they first came out, I didn't
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: see really the practical application for the iPad. I'm like,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: it's just a bigger phone.
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: True.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: What are you going to do?
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Carry it around in your pocket? And then as soon
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: as people got them- And I did see this at
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: our takeover. There were people that were asking us for pictures.
- 1:10:31Speaker 9: And using it.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: And they were using them to take pictures out and about.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: I go, this is so impractical. Holding up this big,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: giant tablet. You could have done that with your laptop.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Why don't you just bring your laptop?
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: No, I guarantee you that was probably their kid's. iPad
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: and then they use it to take the photo.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: But, you know, as things went forward and they start
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: using them for, you know, businesses where you're taking like
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: orders or doing things like that.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I'm like, ah.
- 1:10:55Speaker 12: You used the iPad the entire time for your pilot stuff.
- 1:10:59Speaker 12: Like all your stuff was on that.
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: Yeah. Right. Exactly.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Egg on your face.
- 1:11:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: It was easy. Yeah. So I came around on that one.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: So I don't know.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: I don't know. What's the newest thing? I thought like
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: everybody was talking about those. So far, we're right on
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: the whole Oculus thing.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Like those big stupid things. I thought those would
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: be such a big deal. And I've never experienced one.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: I still want to. Or the Apple. What's the Apple?
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Apple Vision.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Apple Vision.
- 1:11:23Speaker 12: We've had the Oculus one for a long time. It
- 1:11:25Speaker 12: was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. And it was
- 1:11:28Speaker 12: so cool for like 10 minutes. I haven't touched it
- 1:11:30Speaker 12: in a long time.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: My kids are off board. They're like, this is dumb.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: I'm surprised by that. It was cool.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: It just never advanced.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: It's too bulky.
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: And if somebody else, you want to share it, you're like, okay,
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: don't move. I'm going to take them off.
- 1:11:42Speaker 15: Now you get exactly where I am. Like it's not
- 1:11:45Speaker 15: super practical. So yeah, people are speaking fewer words now.
- 1:11:50Speaker 15: Experts are concerned about the trend and say, you know,
- 1:11:52Speaker 15: less talking has led to shorter attention spans and making
- 1:11:56Speaker 15: it harder to hold a conversation in person.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: I buy it. It's rough sometimes.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, people, they cannot have a conversation, even a very
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: basic one.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: They're so awkward. Yeah.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Everybody's so weird.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: I'm so weird, man.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: It's like if somebody, like, they were frozen 20 years
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: ago and then just unfroze them here now in present day.
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: Yeah. I'm like, I got to keep on throwing out
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: topics because we're stuck in.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: The same room.
- 1:12:21Speaker 12: I always think about prisoners that, like, get out after
- 1:12:23Speaker 12: 30 years, and it is like they were a frozen caveman.
- 1:12:26Speaker 9: They have no idea what to do.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Well, they maybe have not used certain things, but they
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: know about them because they still have television and they
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: hear people. The new people, the new meat that comes in.
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: They bring them in.
- 1:12:37Speaker 9: It's contraband, yeah.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Oh, speaking of which, how bad, like, I would love
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: to go to space. I do not have any interest
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: in going to Mars.
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: Oh, too long. It's mad far.
- 1:12:47Speaker 14: Five years.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: It's mad far, Gina.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it takes a minute to get there, Gina.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Six volunteers, half a dozen people, no plans for the
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: next year because they have sealed themselves inside a simulated
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: space station in Germany as part of an experiment. Now,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: the group, three guys, three women, they're between the ages
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: of 26 and 32. And they don't leave until August.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: And the conditions are meant to mimic the long duration
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: space mission. So no alcohol, Greg.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: Forget it. No daylight.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: No fresh food. No romantic relationships.
- 1:13:24Speaker 9: Why not?
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: Try and stop me.
- 1:13:26Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: They get one two hour video call with their family
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: per week. They got to be in bed by 11 p.m.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: You can shower for five minutes twice a week. Blood
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: tests are taken through a slot in the door, and
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: they are told not to make eye contact with medical
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: staff because they're trying to recreate that environment as close
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: as they can. Every moment except time in their sleep
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: pods and in the bathrooms are monitored by cameras, and
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: they just want to understand how isolation and tight-knit group
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: living affects your mental health and.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Your thinking ability. Right, exactly. Thinking ability to have any.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Kind of future human missions to Mars.
- 1:14:04Speaker 9: How long is this?
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: It's six months.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Damn.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: Oh, boy. You couldn't do it, Gina.
- 1:14:09Speaker 9: I don't know. I love being alone.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: No way. I love being alone.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: No way.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: I love being alone. No, but it's not. I think
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: that would drive me insane. The Woody Show will be
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: right back.
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: The Woody Show.

- 1:15:01Speaker 3: food has gone down the toilet. Yeah, it's true.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Same with all those really expensive drinks that you bought.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Also down the toilet.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Right down the toilet. It's like the saying about beer.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: You don't buy beer. You're just borrowing it.
- 1:15:14Speaker 9: You rent it.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Just for a little while. You rent it. It's worth it, though.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: Thank you very much, Greg Goring.
