- Mike Winson: Hello, everyone, and welcome to Breaking the Meadow. My name is Mike Quins and today we are sitting down with the star of such micro dramas as Taming My Enemy Hockey Captain, the rebirth of the Liking Queen, and her most recent video loved the fake daughter and lost the real one. Her name is Bree Augsburg. Hello, my friend. How are you doing today? Bre Augsburg: Good, how are you? Mike Winson: So excited to sit down with you. We were talking a little before that I've I've been I've been watching a lot of your a lot of your videos to get ready for this. So I'm you've had some very interesting parts in the ones that I've Bre Augsburg: yeah. Mike Winson: watched. And I'm I'm very I I'm looking forward to kind of delving into those. but the way I I like to start because you know I I'm I don't know if you saw this. I'm pretty new to the vertical world. I think I've only been Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: watching verticals for about a month now, and I got kind of pulled into it. So I just love hearing how you all got started in this in this whole field to begin with. So you grew up in Kentucky. Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: So how how did a girl from Kentucky go from From that to moving to LA and and joining the verticals. Bre Augsburg: One of those people, I was always interested in acting, but I was honestly very scared to pursue it. I always took like some modeling and acting classes on the side, but I didn't really do a lot of theater in school or anything. And it was actually, I was it was my senior year of high school, and I told myself, Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: I was like, Brie, you are either going to go to business school at the University of Kentucky, or you're like, you're gonna have to. figure something out because I didn't want to be there and I knew I wanted to pursue acting. I just never like took a big enough initiative. And so I found this thing called IMTA, which is a modeling and acting competition place. And like songwriters and singers can go there too. And you basically compete in a bunch of acting competitions and then there's an audience, but the audience is like schools, agents, casting directors, people like that. Mike Winson: Interesting. Bre Augsburg: Yeah, and so I did that and then I ended up getting a scholarship to New York Film Academy for acting and film. So then I moved to New York for a year and then they have a campus in LA. So then I switched over to LA and that is where I found verticals. It's right when I came over. Mike Winson: So are you s are you still doing school now while doing verticals? Bre Augsburg: No, I did actually end up dropping out because my school since it's acting, it's like you if you don't go to the classes, you fail because you can't really they can't like count you as doing anything because it's all in person. It's all doing scene work, scene study, things like that. So I actually had talked to my teachers because I got an offer to film a couple verticals in China. And I told them about it. And they did everything they could to help me, but ultimately I was just like, I am gonna fail and I was like, Well, I think I'm gonna go to China, so Mike Winson: And and you know what? It seems like it's been at least a successful choice because you've definitely Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: gotten gotten quite a few verticals since you since you started doing that. so you said you weren't into you like you didn't think that act like you enjoyed acting, but it wasn't like this big thing. What what other kind of things did you think that you would do before? Like before acting. Bre Augsburg: like really had no idea. I like I knew my only passions were arts. I've always loved the arts. Like I I Mike Winson: Okay. Bre Augsburg: love paint. I I love to sing. I can't sing very well, but like, you know, I've always loved that kind of thing. And that was Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: the only thing I could ever see myself doing. But I guess I never really saw it as an actual possibility. So I like I was gonna go to a business school. I Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: I had no I had like I had no goal of what I was gonna do after business school. I feel like that's just sometimes the thing that people choose when they have no idea what they wanna do. Did you go to business school? Mike Winson: Can I can confirm as someone who who it didn't go to business school, but I what but I chose business major in the school that I Bre Augsburg: Yes. Mike Winson: went to for the same reason that I didn't know what I wanted to do. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: Exactly. And so I like thought maybe I could be a teacher. That's Mike Winson: Okay. Bre Augsburg: probably the only thing that I ever and sometimes I still gravitate towards that. I think I think I would be a good like elementary school teacher. But that's Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: the only thing I could ever really think of. Mike Winson: So you got these two, these two, these offers for doing a couple verticals in China. What for those that may be listening to this and new to the vertical world, verticals are very interesting stories. We'll go with interesting. What Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: did you know much about verticals before you got those? before you got those offers? And when you read the stories, what was kind of your first thought on on on them? Bre Augsburg: I when I I did one vertical before I went to China, it was a crazy werewolf one, like my first lead one, crazy crazy werewolf one. I had no idea. I truly had no idea what it was. I had met this girl at a party who was a casting director, and she was like, hey, like are y are you an actress? I cast these things called verticals. I was like, sure, what's a vertical? Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: And then so she cast me for the werewolf one. And that's where I was like, okay, these are what they are. And then I started, you know, seeing more people in the space. They would pop up on my for you page, you know, because our phones are always listening. So it knew Mike Winson: Yep. Yep. Bre Augsburg: I was doing them. And and then I think like less than a month after I did that first one, the offer to go to China came. And reading those scripts, it's it's so crazy because It it when you're reading them, you're kind of like sometimes you're like, god. Like there's just some things that you don't really even think about, like as a viewer, that real people are acting out this crazy stuff. Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: And so you have to like imagine yourself in real life acting out those crazy things and it's like it makes you a little nervous sometimes. Especially when I was reading the ones in China, I was like, no. 'Cause when you go to Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: China They also don't have stunt coordinators or intimacy coordinators, which Mike Winson: Mm. Bre Augsburg: are the people on set who basically keep you safe. If you're doing stunts, they make sure everything is done safely so you don't accidentally get punched in the face. If you're doing intimacy like kissing or anything, they make sure that like everyone's boundaries are respected. so it can be scary going to China Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: and not having going anywhere and filming something like this and not having that security blanket. Mike Winson: Sure. okay. So I want to talk. So one of the one of the verticals that I watched you in was Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: where you were a lead was Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: taming my enemy hockey captain. Now, was that Bre Augsburg: Yes. Mike Winson: your first like lead lead, or did you do some other? Because most of the ones I've seen you in, you you tend to be the villain, which by the way, having now sat down and started talking with you only for about 10 minutes. feels like a very odd thing to like now that I'm looking back at you playing the villain, I'm like, how can this sweet young lady be a villain? Bre Augsburg: Yeah, it's I actually the hockey one was not my first one. I think that was my first lead. I think that was like my fifth or sixth Mike Winson: Okay. Bre Augsburg: lead. that's actually my favorite one I've ever done. I think it's really cute. but I actually thanks. Mike Winson: You did really good in it. Bre Augsburg: But I I love to do the leads. recently they So since all the AI slop has come out, it's all the productions have completely slowed down. So it's essentially the same ten people are just playing the leads over and over and over again. And so when the AI stuff started booming, I completely kind of got knocked out of leads. So that's Mike Winson: Mm. Bre Augsburg: why I started doing the villains. Which I'm I'm glad that I have the ability to be mean because I still I can still work on them. I still have, you know, the income for it and everything. But it has been hard because I d I didn't ever I didn't start out as a villain. I like kinda went I think I did like one little one where I had a little part as a villain and then I went straight into Leeds, did Leeds till from like October to April and then completely got put as a villain. Mike Winson: It's it's really interesting because I was in the interview that I did with one of your co-stars in The Liking Queen, Loss and Grayson, Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: she talked about how earlier on villains were like brunettes and Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: and leads were blondes. And I feel like there's almost been a a slight flip. Bre Augsburg: Like switch. Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: where the blondes are now more often playing the villains and a lot of the lead parts are not all of them, but a lot of them tend to go to brunettes, which is really interesting. Bre Augsburg: Yeah, they I've actually had I've had directors, producers, casting directors tell me that that they just think blondes are mean right now. So that's kind of where Mike Winson: Interesting. Bre Augsburg: it's at. Mike Winson: Yeah. So as someone who, again, from my interaction with you, seems like a very sweet young lady. What is Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: it like playing a villain for you? Especially Bre Augsburg: Mm. Mike Winson: in the most your most recent one where you play a really, really mean girl. Bre Augsburg: I'm horrible. I think I think they can be really fun because a lot of the times you do get just the really fun scenes where you can go crazy and scream and you know be wild. Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: Sometimes it's hard. Like the most recent one I did with Hallie, the where I was horrible. That's the worst villain I've ever played. I I mean there was a scene where I had to turn around because Hallie's also a phenomenal actor and she's Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: just sobbing and and I literally had to Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: like turn away because I'm tearing up. And I just Mike Winson: no. Bre Augsburg: felt so bad. And I the stud coordinator that was on that, he looked at me and he was like, You good? I was like, I'm good, I'm good, I'm really Mike Winson: Yeah, I'm I'm great. Bre Augsburg: good. And it but it is crazy because on scenes like that there's this really crazy scene in that where I tape her to the wall and I put glue on her mouth. So when we were filming, not me, when the camera's to my back and it's Hallie's coverage, Hallie Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: is sobbing. You know, she's given it her all. But then when you flip the camera and it's my coverage, I could not handle I can't do my meanest performance if she's doing that. So Hallie is actually being mean back to me almost with her lines. Mike Winson: Really? Bre Augsburg: So so that it can like be a really crazy contrast when they put it together, which is why I think it ends up being like so gruesome. Mike Winson: Yeah. And and so you it was really interesting because I had actually I had first reached out to you, I think right before this one released or right around when this released, because you Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: were you were posting a bunch of behind the scenes stuff from it and constantly having to respond to people and be like, No, I didn't actually so Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: for anyone listening, in it she takes a a curling iron. Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: and just just really presses it right on her body. And she was get you were getting a lot of questions, a lot of were you getting like upset people at you for doing Bre Augsburg: getting hate. I was getting hate. I I kind of liked it because I thought it was funny. Because Mike Winson: Yeah Bre Augsburg: people like I it was just funny to me that people would really think that we would do something like that for like anything. I don't I don't know anybody in any film that's getting burned for real on Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: purpose. And so yeah I did get a lot of hate. Mike Winson: Like having to watching you have to describe to them how you did it was just it was really funny to me because I'm like, guys, they didn't they they really didn't take a a curling iron to her to her stomach. I promise you. Bre Augsburg: No, it was unplugged and you could there's actually the way they edit it, you can like see the wire hanging down and it's clearly Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: not plugged into anything. Mike Winson: Yeah, when I was prepping for today, I was my first question was going to be so when was the first time that you that you practiced burning someone with a curling iron? That was gonna be my first I decided to to skip away Bre Augsburg: Ha ha. Mike Winson: from it, but Okay, so you've done about 13 or so, at least that have been that have been published Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: verticals. Which one you s so Was you said taming my enemy hockey captain was your favorite, or do you have another one that like your favorite? You I just had that was like the most fun that you of of the ones you did. Bre Augsburg: That one that one's definitely my favorite. I think it's I I also did this other one called Miss President at Your Service. That one Mike Winson: Yep. Bre Augsburg: was really fun because Luke and Alexis who play the lead guy and the villain, we're like all super close and we're best friends and I still hang out with them. So like I love that one for the reason of like I we just all became best friends and they're some of my best friends now. But Taming My Enemy Hockey Captain, I think the story's so cute and it's like typical rom com and I think we had like a great like energy and chemistry together. Because the the honestly the script was written very steamy. It was very steamy, very like I I don't know. Mike Winson: There was a lot of intimacy scenes in that in that Bre Augsburg: Yes. Mike Winson: one. Bre Augsburg: But I think we found a way to make it like very cute and like ev like all the scenes we like kinda giggled our way through them, which Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: was not in the script at all. So I think it ended up being like a really sweet little little story. Mike Winson: The I I think the part that I found that that made me think and was like, I wonder what recording that scene was like was when you your character accidentally bought the adult board game and you had to play that. Bre Augsburg: that one I actually have a bone to pick about this one. Did you watch that whole scene? Mike Winson: What? Yeah. Bre Augsburg: Okay, so in that scene, I'm supposed to be wearing like this lacy pink underwear. Mike Winson: When he flips you around, right? Bre Augsburg: Yes! And do you did you see what they left in where I'm in the shorts? Okay, okay. Mike Winson: Yes. I was sitting there, I'm like, she is not supposed to have clothes on. How did that happen? Bre Augsburg: No! No! No! So basically they want like they just wanted the shot of it was gonna be like if this is the edge of the frame, my like the lacy part of the underwear was gonna be here and then it's just me. Because I had shorts on underneath because there was, you know, no reason for me to have all that out, you know? Mike Winson: Right. Right. Bre Augsburg: And so I They told me they were like, yeah, like when you go around him, we film so many shots at a time that they were getting like a wide and a close up during that. So they were like, we can't cut the cameras, but they're obviously not gonna put that in there. You know, they're gonna cut around that because I am literally in dark brown spandex with a lacy pink thong over it. And they leave it in and these. Mike Winson: But there was the other part where you had to you were supposed to take all of your clothes off and then he comes up and turns you around and they did the close-up and you had there was Bre Augsburg: A clothes on! Mike Winson: there was clothes on. I was like, wait a second. Not that I'm sitting here Bre Augsburg: Yes, yes. Mike Winson: like I want to see her belly, but I'm like, that's just not right. Bre Augsburg: Well, because a like when we do those scenes, a lot of those really close-up insert shots, we do it at the very end. So Mike Winson: Right. Bre Augsburg: we film the all the wide shots, the close-ups, we film everything, and then we go through and they think about all the inserts they need and they do it. So when we went to film that insert, I had my clothes on. And then we realized, crap, you know, she has it off. So I, you know, like took it off to refilm it, but they used the one where I had the clothes on. Mike Winson: Yeah, it was funny. It it there's always pretty much anytime you watch one, there's almost always something where you're just like, you could tell that they just threw this together really fast to finish this up kind of a thing. Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: what what scene did was the most difficult for you to as a as an actor to do? Bre Augsburg: Mm. Let me think. Hmm. Honestly, difficult, like not breaking character wise. Mike Winson: Mm. Bre Augsburg: There was this one I did called what's it called? I'll be better without you. It's on Drama Box. Mike Winson: Okay. Yep, yep. Bre Augsburg: And the main guy is supposed to be having an allergic reaction. And the way they wanted him to do it is he's on all fours, like flailing his arms, flailing his legs out. And me who she's now one of my best friends, Ashlyn, and then this guy named Spencer, who we all became really close on that set, have to watch him do this and like not laugh. And it's it's so funny. And every single take, one of us breaks character, and we cannot get it. And the whole production is mad at us. They're like, guys, please pull it together. And we're breaking character because he's just like flailing his arms and his legs, and that's just like not what would happen if someone Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: was having an allergic reaction either, which is so funny. So they ended up putting a thumbtack on the wall, and they would not let us look at him. And they made us look at the thumbtacks that we would Mike Winson: Mm. At the thumb tag. Bre Augsburg: break character. That honestly is probably one of like the hardest ones not breaking character I had to film, like physically wise, I would say. On my first ever one I did, there's this it's like one of the it's it's not the opening scene, but it's in the opening episode. I like fall into a cave Mike Winson: Okay. Bre Augsburg: into the guy's arms, obviously, because that happens. Yes, all the time. Mike Winson: Of course, 'cause 'cause that happens to all of us. I know we've all experienced that before. Bre Augsburg: Yeah, and I'm like on a or the cave. It was like I guess it was a kind of a cave, but yeah, we'll just say it was cave. There it was all the whole thing was slanted. Like Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: Huge incline. And so they want me to be at the top of it, the very top of like the hill basically. And the stunt coordinator is holding my arm or holding my hands because if I let go, I would just go back. Mike Winson: Follow that. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: He's holding me and I just have to fully fall into this guy's arms in a bridal carry. And I just trust that everything is gonna be okay. Mike Winson: Of course. Bre Augsburg: And that was really scary. Like I Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: I've done some like weird stunts that like could be, you know, like whatever, but that one that one really scared me because it was the there were so many rocks in that little cave area and it was on the slant. And I remember that day someone had already like hit their head and on like the top of it. So I was so scared. And then he like once he catches me, he slams me down. And this was my first ever intimacy scene, by the way. Mike Winson: my goodness. Bre Augsburg: And then he slams me down on the ground. I remember like my arm landed on a rock and like my it my arm got cut and it was like It was it was hard. Mike Winson: So you've done a lot of mof, you've done mafia, you've done a lot of werewolf, and obviously Bre Augsburg: Mm. Mike Winson: a lot of school, school ones. Is there a kind of vertical that you haven't had a chance to do that you're just like, if I get offered this, I'm I'm doing it. Bre Augsburg: Mm. really wanted to do I don't know why because I think they're cringy but like Mike Winson: That is most of them, if we're being straight. Bre Augsburg: yeah but the the vampire Mike Winson: Okay. Bre Augsburg: It's like it's so funny to me. And I got super close. I got so close to one. And then I think I was like top three or something, and then they pick someone else. And I wanna do one so bad because I feel like that would fulfill teenage me who was watching like vampire diaries and Teen Wolf and all of that. Mike Winson: Yep. Yep. Bre Augsburg: To be able to even if it's for a vertical to be able to do that, I really wanna do it. Mike Winson: So are you into the are you kind of into the fantasy ones that you get to do a little bit more, or is it just vampire because teen? Bre Augsburg: I I don't know. I think the fantasy ones are really fun because I just think they're camp. I just think they're very campy. Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: I don't I don't come at those very obviously I take it seriously and I try to take all of them seriously, even if they are verticals. but I I just think at their core they're very funny and campy. Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: So I I like doing them. I think they're fun. You get to pretend to have magical powers and And it I think it fulfills like childhood brie a little bit. Mike Winson: Yeah. what was it like playing a possessed werewolf? Bre Augsburg: That one was funny because I had to the I had to mimic a guy Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: and he was crazy. Mike Winson: And had he done his lines already and you were reading over it, or did you do your stuff and he overread? Okay. Bre Augsburg: No, I was reading over it. He had done his and so I tried to do the best that I could, but they didn't I knew the way he acted. He was very he like elongated all of his words. He did a lot with his hands because I had seen him in scene. So I knew his vibe, but at the very end they did not play me his audio, so I couldn't per like fully match up how he was saying it. Cause I've done that sometimes and what they do is they play you it so that it's in your head and then you try to say it as Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: nicely as po or accurate as possible so that when they put the audio over it, your lips match the audio. Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: But they didn't do that, so it does not match Mike Winson: Yeah, I think in the beginning, like the first half of it, you were you were doing okay, but you could tell tw as it the farther it was going on, the the more d difficult Bre Augsburg: The less, yeah. Mike Winson: you were having doing it. It was funny. It was a really good episode. That was again, I told you before, Lost and Grayson, who plays the one of the leads is plays the lead in it, is Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: a is a friend of mine. And so it was like it was watching I got Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: to watch you do yours, and I got to watch Lawson be this Liking queen. It was, it was just cool. And you did get to use a whip. Did you get to use the whip? You had a whip. Did you get to use it? Bre Augsburg: yes, I got to use the not to whip anybody, but I had to do this move where I like go-cha! Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: And there was this tree above me, and we're doing one of like the shot of me. Cause I think it's my character's entrance when I like crack the whip or something. And Mike Winson: Yes. I think so, yeah. Bre Augsburg: I literally took down the tree branch. Mike Winson: Ooh. Bre Augsburg: Cause it like fully but it was like not like it didn't look good enough to keep it. Mike Winson: To keep it. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: I fully took down the tree branch and then I had and one of my nails popped off when I did it. So like I it was just it was a mess for a second and then we had to like clear the tree, you know, so that I could like redo it. Mike Winson: Ha ha ha. Bre Augsburg: And yeah, I but I did get to use the whip. I've there's actually been a lot of times I think there have been whips on sets for me. Like in Mike Winson: Interesting. Bre Augsburg: a werewolf like story. Mike Winson: Obviously, you have become the whip girl when it comes to I won't. Bre Augsburg: Don't tell them that. Don't give them ideas. Mike Winson: I'm not speaking for Brie in this case. Bre Augsburg: Mm mm mm. Mike Winson: okay. So I I need to ask if this is true because I I I found this information. According to my research, you have a You have listed as a special skill of bike riding. Bre Augsburg: Do I? Mike Winson: I don't know. This is just what I found when I was searching around for things. And it came up 'cause I do my own research and then I just Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: then I then I do kind of like I I let some stuff do some deep dive stuff and that's what it popped up with. So I wanted to see if it was any if it was Bre Augsburg: You know, I can definitely ride a bike. That might be one of those things where it's like if casting asks you, can you do this? you're like, Absolutely. Mike Winson: Yeah. Okay. Bre Augsburg: Absolutely I can. If casting wants you to be a fantastic bike rider, you're gonna you're gonna say, Yeah, I can ride I'm great at it. Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. There you go. Okay. I just wanted I just wanted to I just wanted to check on that one because that one that one that I was I was a little confused on that. okay. So you are one cool thing, so you are a certified stage you are certified in stage combat, right? Bre Augsburg: Mm. Mike Winson: And have have you like Where's an area that you've gotten to like use that? And you're just like, I feel like I'm getting to use everything that I've that I've learned in this. Bre Augsburg: Honestly, like every vertical. Mike Winson: Really? Bre Augsburg: Cause there's so much even as the lead and as playing the villain, there's so much fighting that Mike Winson: Mm. Bre Augsburg: comes into it that I honestly can use it for both because in stage combat classes they teach you everything. They teach you slaps, punches, tackles, kicks, anything with throws. So which We all know they love the slaps and verticals. Mike Winson: They do love the slaps and verticals. Bre Augsburg: Love They love so I really I I have honestly been able to use a lot of it. Especially in the one I did with Hallie where I was a monster. Mike Winson: Yeah. you were I still like I can't believe like I was I watched that and I was like there wow you you had to you really had to pull deep on that one. Bre Augsburg: Yeah, my after that one came out, my Nana, she called me and she was like, My full name's Brianna. She's like, Brianna, I r she has the little bit of a country accent. She's like, I really Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: don't think you should play a character like that again. Like, Mike Winson: no. Bre Augsburg: you were so mean. I couldn't even watch you. I'm like, Mike Winson: no. Bre Augsburg: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Mike Winson: What what has the been the response of your family to the verticals that you have done, obviously, past this one? Just in general. Bre Augsburg: They think okay, a lot of my family doesn't watch them. Thank God. Mike Winson: Huh? Bre Augsburg: thank the Lord because Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: that's a little scary for me, especially because they get so sexual and it Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: but my nana boy my nana will watch every single one of them and she'll text me about them. Mike Winson: Really? Bre Augsburg: Yeah. She will text me about them. I think she has a harder time watching me. be mean than do like the intimate scenes, which is crazy. Mike Winson: Really? Bre Augsburg: She's a really hard time watching me be mean. Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: Which maybe 'cause I'm supposed to be like, you know, her like sweet little granddaughter. But I get Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: scared with the especially the Miss President at your service. There's some crazy scenes in that one with like a blindfold and handcuffs. Mike Winson: Ooh. Bre Augsburg: And I get so scared. I'm like I tell my family like, Don't watch this one. Don't do it. Please. Please. And if you do, don't tell me. Mike Winson: That that has been the weird that has been the weird situation for me is now that I'm interviewing all of you and I start getting to know you guys better. And some of you are like Lawson and others I consider friends. It's like I watch the new ones and I'm just like, all right, I'm just gonna, I'm gonna look up here. I'm gonna look over. Not that it's not that I'm sitting here like bat, but it's just like, you know, I don't need to see someone that I consider a friend and and I'm Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: hanging out with, just be in that situation. It's just not necessary for me. Bre Augsburg: It can be weird. It can be weird. Even Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: like my friends and I, we have watch parties for them, usually. And we we think it's funny, but there are some scenes where it's like, gosh, like I don't even want to look at it. And watching yourself too. You're like, no one should ever know what they look like in this situation. And Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: now I know. And it's it's kind of it's kind of weird to even Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: see yourself doing it. Mike Winson: What was it like for you doing your first intimacy scene? And did you have experience before and at all before you started doing verticals? Bre Augsburg: So the first time I ever even kissed someone for acting was my first ever vertical. Yes. And Mike Winson: Really? Okay. Bre Augsburg: I was very nervous. I was so nervous. Thankfully, my co-star, his name is Eric. I love him so much. He was super sweet. He like really like helped me through the whole process. There's obviously an intimacy coordinator who, you know, helps you with everything, but I was so nervous. Mike Winson: Mm-hmm. Bre Augsburg: Especially until the cave scene. Mike Winson: Yep. Bre Augsburg: That one was I had we had done kissing scenes before that, but that was the first scene where it was like implied sex. And so I was boy, I was so nervous. I still get nervous doing them. And I've done so many of them now and it's still just like It's just like a very vulnerable thing Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: and you're surrounded by like 20 people with cameras and sometimes people will be yelling out like touch his arm, move her hair, and so it's just like Mike Winson: That has got to be that has got to be the weirdest part. Like, I understand being a little nervous about doing intimacy scenes just in general, Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: plus knowing you have to act like you're you're enjoying it and want to be intimate, plus the knowledge that there are anywhere from 10 to 20 people all around you watching you while this is going on. Bre Augsburg: Yeah, it's it's a lot and y it's just also sometimes it's confusing because you Mike Winson: Mm. Bre Augsburg: have to remember there's so much there's so much action. There's there's lines and then you wanna make sure that you're, you know, not making your scene partner uncomfortable and you wanna make sure they're comfortable and you also wanna make sure you're comfortable Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: and you also wanna make sure that the your light is still hitting you and you know you're you're still To like facing the camera. So it's it's just so many factors you have to think about. And it's it's people sometimes think that the intimacy scenes are like people be like, my gosh, especially the fans, be like, how was that filming that? And I'm like, I d I what do you mean how was that filming it? It was so hard. That was one of the hardest scenes because there Mike Winson: Yeah. Bre Augsburg: was so much to remember. Mike Winson: Yeah. I I interviewed Sophia Soto. She her f Bre Augsburg: Mm. Mike Winson: she was talking about it was her first vertical ever. And the first scene she did was the last scene in the vertical where they're like, All I love you, I love you, all of that stuff. And I was just like, Your first vertical, and it was with Noah Andre, who's one of the biggest vertical Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Mike Winson: actors, to have that be your fri that I was wild. I just I don't know how you guys do it. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: Hard. They do that where I don't know why. Usually intimacy is either at the very beginning of the shoot or it's at the very end. I like it when it's at the end because you're kind of like homies with the person. You know how you work with the other person. I've had so many scenarios where I we start off the first couple days doing the intimacy and and then the chemistry, you know, it's only gonna get better when you're working with someone for 12 hours a day. So it's like it i the chemistry doesn't feel there, but it as if you did it at the end it would just be so much better. But Mike Winson: Yeah. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: a lot of the times they do it at the beginning. I think 'cause they just like to get it over with. Mike Winson: Yeah. I didn't get to watch them, but I did notice that you did a couple Christmas verticals. What's it like doing Christmas verticals? Bre Augsburg: So those Christmas verticals that I did are actually funny because the cover is Christmas themed. They put Christmas in the title. Mike Winson: Yeah. Yep. Bre Augsburg: When we filmed those, it was like Christmas was the least of our worries. And both of them, I think there was a little bit of like, it's Christmas time. Because I do remember that there was a Christmas tree, I think, in one of them. Mike Winson: So that's the most Christmas that was really probably in them. Bre Augsburg: talk about Christmas. It also they came out after Christmas, I'm pretty sure. Mike Winson: It's possible. I just saw two like right in a row and was like, wow, you you got you got a couple good Christmas ones in there. Bre Augsburg: So basically I filmed those and then usually they take a month to two months to come out. They got those out in like two weeks, two, three weeks. Mike Winson: Wow. Bre Augsburg: And it and then they labeled them Christmas. So I think that they were like, snap, let's make these ones Christmas really quick. And they like changed the cover and they changed the title because those were not the original titles. They never Mike Winson: That's hilarious. Bre Augsburg: are, but they just put Christmas in those and then I think they released them like the week after Christmas. Mike Winson: That's that is that is absolutely hilarious that that you had to go that that you dealt with that. okay. I want to do I call it a speed round. It's not really a speed round, but it's it's very Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: simple questions and it's just just something fun to do at the end to let us get to know you a little bit better. favorite coffee order. Bre Augsburg: Vanilla ice saute with oat milk. I actually have that right here. Mike Winson: Okay. Yep. See, there you go. the last one I did was a really long one. I I didn't I don't remember any of the one they they did. sweet Bre Augsburg: Ha ha. Mike Winson: or savory breakfast. Bre Augsburg: Savory. Mike Winson: What kind? Bre Augsburg: Mm, I'm not a big breakfast person, but I don't really like like breads. So I like like bacon and eggs and sausage Mike Winson: Okay. Okay. Bre Augsburg: and things like that. Mike Winson: Okay. Beach or Mountains. Okay. I was Bre Augsburg: Speech. Mike Winson: I was gonna question because you l you're from Kentucky and you're pretty close to the mountains too, so that was definitely a possibility. Yeah. Bre Augsburg: yeah. Yeah, I've had enough, Beach. Mike Winson: Fair. go to karaoke song. Bre Augsburg: Jessie's girl. I like this. Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: okay. Yep, that's a good one. Dogs or cats? Bre Augsburg: I love them both, but probably dogs. Mike Winson: Okay. You have a favorite kind of dog? Bre Augsburg: I feel like I have to say a chocolate lab because my dog at home is a chocolate lab. So I feel Mike Winson: That's fair. And you know your Nana's gonna see this and she's gonna have to exactly. Bre Augsburg: Yes, exactly. Mike Winson: favorite comfort food. Bre Augsburg: Mmm, Wingstop, hot honey flavor, Korean barbecue flavor. Mike Winson: Nice. Last show you binged. Bre Augsburg: Actually I'm watching it. It's you. I it I I never finished it when it came out. Do you know that show? Mike Winson: No. Bre Augsburg: it's basically about this guy. He lives in New York City and he's like a stalker. Mike Winson: Well. Bre Augsburg: That's like the whole thing. But the last season came out months ago when I'm finally finishing it. Mike Winson: Nice. morning person or night owl? Bre Augsburg: Morning person. I have a really hard time s once it once the sun goes down, I'm down. It's really hard for me. Mike Winson: Yeah, me too. one food you would refuse to eat. Bre Augsburg: oysters. I've Mike Winson: okay. Bre Augsburg: tried one before. I have tried it. It was disgusting and honest. Mike Winson: In any form. Bre Augsburg: Yeah, in any form. Mike Winson: Okay. I'm I grew up in Massachusetts, so like fried cloysters, fried clams, all that stuff is it's in my blood. You don't like fish? Well, you are Kentucky, so you know. Bre Augsburg: I don't like fish. I don't like any fish. Mike Winson: favorite season. Bre Augsburg: Probably summer or fall. Mike Winson: Okay. sweet treat you can't say no to. Bre Augsburg: Mmm. I'm not a bake sweets person, but I do love key lime pie. Mike Winson: Yes. Bre Augsburg: I'm obsessed with key lime pie. If anyone brings Mike Winson: Yes. Bre Augsburg: that near me, I will eat it no matter what. Mike Winson: If I ever come to LA and visit, key bring key lamp pie. Bre Augsburg: King line pie. Mike Winson: person real or or no longer with us that if you had the chance to act with them, you like dream person to act with. Bre Augsburg: Mm. I feel like I feel like Jennifer Lawrence. I love Mike Winson: Hmm, okay. Bre Augsburg: Jay Law. She's my favorite. And I would love to see like her in action and see how she does it. Hmm. Mike Winson: Yeah. You know what would be cool? You being you being the good girl again and Jennifer Lawrence being the villain. I think it would be that would be hilarious Bre Augsburg: I would love that. Mike Winson: because you she's got so much sass, you know she could just do it without Bre Augsburg: Mm-hmm. Mike Winson: without even worrying about it. if you had a free day with no plans at all, what would you do? Bre Augsburg: Mmm. I would probably go to the beach, honestly. I love the beach and even though I live right here, it's like going to the beach is kind of such an ordeal and it takes up basically your whole day. Mike Winson: I mean, going anywhere in LA is pretty much an ordeal. Bre Augsburg: Yeah. Yeah. So I honestly would probably spend it at the beach and have like a really nice beach day. Mike Winson: Nice. go to book to read. Like your favorite, let's say your favorite book. Bre Augsburg: Mmm. My favorite would probably be honestly, I read this I think literally in middle school or high school, but it's so good. The Maze Runner. I love that franchise. I love the books. I the books are so much better than the movie. Mike Winson: What did you think of the movies? Yeah, I was about to ask. Bre Augsburg: The books are so much better than the movies, but they always are. So probably Mike Winson: Yep. Bre Augsburg: the Maze Runner. Mike Winson: Okay.
