Latest / KSEV Mornings with Craig and Wayne / Why Prices Stay High, JD Vance and a Gold Star Widow, and a New Report on October 7
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: KSCV Radio, 700 AM, the voice of Texas.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Thrilled to be with you so, so much.
- 0:08Speaker 1: So many things out there to talk about. And Wayne
- 0:11Speaker 1: Dolcefino sitting right there. Wayne, how you doing?
- 0:15Speaker 3: I'm good, man. How are you, Craig? I'm real good.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I had a great weekend, to be honest with you.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I went to the beach, which a lot of people
- 0:23Speaker 1: don't do because they disparage the beach here.
- 0:26Speaker 2: But I kind of like it.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:29Speaker 2: What do you think of the beach?
- 0:31Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I've been to Florida beaches, and so
- 0:35Speaker 3: I must admit that I do have a preference toward
- 0:39Speaker 3: a more white sand beach.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 0:42Speaker 3: But I don't blame Galveston for that. I like Galveston.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Gotcha.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I am noticing that the microphone you're using right now
- 0:48Speaker 1: is your computer and not the fancy one in front
- 0:50Speaker 1: of your face.
- 0:52Speaker 2: We're hearing, which is fine. It's okay quality. The other
- 0:56Speaker 2: quality would be better.
- 0:57Speaker 1: And the way to fix that, Wayne, is something I
- 0:59Speaker 1: might want to tell you off the air, not on
- 1:01Speaker 1: the air. There's a button you hit down and you
- 1:04Speaker 1: fix some things, but we'll get that fixed at the
- 1:06Speaker 1: end of the break.
- 1:07Speaker 3: So once I started unplugging things this morning, that was
- 1:13Speaker 3: a recipe for a disaster.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Why did you unplug stuff?
- 1:18Speaker 3: I didn't. I think my chair caught on my cords.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Well, plus you have a lot of other people that
- 1:24Speaker 1: work there that might do stuff they might they might
- 1:28Speaker 1: change things.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Not at seven o'clock in the.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Morning maybe over the weekend who knows although they don't
- 1:33Speaker 1: work in the weekend.
- 1:34Speaker 3: So you want me to pay people overtime to come
- 1:37Speaker 3: here and help me for free Now. Work here. Is
- 1:41Speaker 3: that what you want? What is this, a charity?
- 1:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Hey, by the way, there's so much to talk about.
- 1:51Speaker 3: It's going to be a tough week in a lot
- 1:53Speaker 3: of ways. It's the 9-11 stuff. I was watching a
- 1:58Speaker 3: couple of the documentaries last night on the the restaurant
- 2:04Speaker 3: that used to be at the top of the World
- 2:05Speaker 3: Trade Center. And I also watched another mini documentary on
- 2:11Speaker 3: firefighters from a particular station that I think all did survive,
- 2:16Speaker 3: a particular station house, one of the earliest crews, but
- 2:20Speaker 3: also one that survived. And I thought that was a
- 2:23Speaker 3: pretty fascinating story. And the campaigns, I thought they were
- 2:29Speaker 3: all the time, but apparently this is like the official... Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I don't know why they say that, why they believe that,
- 2:38Speaker 1: but this is what they believe is that now people
- 2:40Speaker 1: actually start paying attention.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Well, maybe, maybe the average person doesn't start. I don't
- 2:47Speaker 3: think the average person starts paying attention ever in this country.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I think this notion that, that, you know, we start
- 2:55Speaker 3: paying attention now and start formulating what we're going to do.
- 2:59Speaker 3: If you don't know what you're going to do, in
- 3:02Speaker 3: this election and whether or not you're going to vote
- 3:06Speaker 3: by now, then I'm not really sure what you would need.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't I don't think those people I think
- 3:14Speaker 1: you're right about that. I think the people who have
- 3:16Speaker 1: no idea what to do at this point are just
- 3:18Speaker 1: not going to vote.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I can't imagine that they make the time to show up.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I don't think they care, to be honest with you,
- 3:24Speaker 1: or maybe someone in their family will tell them the
- 3:27Speaker 1: day before to vote for a thing. But by and large,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I would think most people have decided on this, which
- 3:32Speaker 1: is what worries me about the polling data. I always
- 3:35Speaker 1: think the polling data is wrong and stupid, and it
- 3:38Speaker 1: doesn't really matter. But it continues to say that Tallarico
- 3:41Speaker 1: is ahead, and that's surprising, to say the least.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Well, do you see the poll where it showed that
- 3:47Speaker 3: Governor Abbott was only up by one against that Hinojosa lady,
- 3:51Speaker 3: who I'm sure she's a lovely woman. I really didn't
- 3:55Speaker 3: know crap.
- 3:55Speaker 5: About her, to be honest with you.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Well, and I don't— And I've been looking up over
- 3:59Speaker 3: the weekend trying to find crap, right? Sure. Not in
- 4:04Speaker 3: a major research project or anything. I just was like
- 4:07Speaker 3: going online to see what the free shows say. And
- 4:11Speaker 3: you can't really find much about her. I don't know
- 4:15Speaker 3: whether or not the op research stuff has ever been
- 4:18Speaker 3: done on her because they probably weren't even worried about her.
- 4:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I don't know. I got to be honest. I don't
- 4:24Speaker 2: even see any commercials for her. I see the Greg
- 4:26Speaker 2: Abbott commercial. All the time.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I don't know if that's because I watch like Internet
- 4:30Speaker 1: TV and people choose to pay for things in certain
- 4:33Speaker 1: places and other places. I don't know if people watching
- 4:35Speaker 1: regular TV are seeing the ad as much, but I
- 4:38Speaker 1: see Greg Abbott's ad.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And I'm not mad about that.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I just think that there's obviously got to be some
- 4:43Speaker 1: sort of financial difference between the two. Totally different than
- 4:47Speaker 1: the Tallarico Paxton difference.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and remember, though, remember Lena Hidalgo. So, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 3: for those who say stupid stuff can't happen, I don't
- 4:59Speaker 3: think anyone thought in the Harris County judge race years
- 5:03Speaker 3: ago when it was Ed Emmett was the county judge,
- 5:06Speaker 3: it was popular, right? And then Lena Hidalgo, whatever she did,
- 5:12Speaker 3: I guess, pre-crazy, or maybe she was already crazy, I
- 5:15Speaker 3: don't know. But... But no one knew who she was.
- 5:19Speaker 5: She was a nobody.
- 5:20Speaker 3: And she won. And so it's possible. And the stars,
- 5:26Speaker 3: you know, look, either the stars are lining up or
- 5:29Speaker 3: people are just so checked out and freaked out about
- 5:32Speaker 3: prices that they want to blame the party in power when,
- 5:38Speaker 3: in fact, somebody needs to tell people the truth and
- 5:41Speaker 3: that Neither party can control these prices that went up
- 5:45Speaker 3: a lot during COVID and never came down. Right.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:49Speaker 2: No, I think it's that. I think it's that second
- 5:51Speaker 2: part that you just said, too.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And I'm fascinated mostly when I think about this, wondering
- 5:58Speaker 1: if at some point you can regain the messaging there,
- 6:02Speaker 1: because I as you said, I don't think it's conservatives
- 6:05Speaker 1: fault outside of the conflict that we're in.
- 6:08Speaker 2: That a lot of prices are high.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I do think it's still a difficulty in pulling those
- 6:14Speaker 1: prices back down once they get up to certain levels.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Companies don't like willfully losing money they're now getting. And
- 6:21Speaker 1: so part of the thing, even though we make the
- 6:23Speaker 1: economy better, all of that, people don't drop prices extremely
- 6:29Speaker 1: down from what they are if we're buying stuff. We
- 6:33Speaker 1: have to stop buying things for the companies to say,
- 6:35Speaker 1: all right, we're going to really lower this price.
- 6:37Speaker 3: No, I think that's right. You know what I knew
- 6:39Speaker 3: when we were in trouble on prices? And this is
- 6:41Speaker 3: going to sound very elitist, but I don't care.
- 6:45Speaker 7: Whatever.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I hired a handyman in Austin at my house up
- 6:51Speaker 3: in Dripping Springs. And I wanted him to, I don't
- 6:53Speaker 3: know what it was, change the smoke detectors or something
- 6:57Speaker 3: because I can't get my old butt up there. And
- 7:00Speaker 3: it was like several hundred dollars before he was gone.
- 7:04Speaker 3: He was there like three hours. And I'm going... And
- 7:07Speaker 3: I'm not trying to be rude that, you know, I
- 7:09Speaker 3: think someone who can do all that kind of handy
- 7:11Speaker 3: stuff is really talented. But I'm going like, really?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Especially the amount of time you said he was there.
- 7:20Speaker 1: If he's there like a half an hour and charges
- 7:21Speaker 1: you several hundred bucks, that feels wrong.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah. It just does. And I think nobody now can
- 7:27Speaker 3: be the one to say, like even our prices at
- 7:30Speaker 3: my company, I mean, the cost of hiring us has
- 7:34Speaker 3: doubled over the last three or four years. But everyone's
- 7:39Speaker 3: salary went up too. And so, sure, everything is expensive,
- 7:47Speaker 3: but people are still buying stuff, right? I just think
- 7:51Speaker 3: the media spends... so much time trying to convince us that,
- 7:58Speaker 3: you know, we're all doomed because we're paying $ 40 a
- 8:02Speaker 3: month more for gas, maybe, than we did for six
- 8:07Speaker 3: months in order to stop crazy people in Iran. And
- 8:11Speaker 3: I'm cool with that. Instead of being made to believe, well,
- 8:16Speaker 3: it's a hardship, but it's a temporary hardship for a
- 8:19Speaker 3: long-term gain. They're making us think like it's the end
- 8:23Speaker 3: of the world. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 2: No, I agree with you a lot. I don't know
- 8:27Speaker 2: where we go, though, from here, like, to be honest
- 8:29Speaker 2: with you.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And as you said, if we try to pivot the
- 8:32Speaker 1: conversation back to what is likely to happen in the
- 8:35Speaker 1: midterm elections.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:36Speaker 1: People will blame Republicans for prices that they think are
- 8:39Speaker 1: too high and believe that they can lower them by
- 8:42Speaker 1: voting Democrats in the office. And maybe that's the message
- 8:46Speaker 1: that people need to hear because they should have learned
- 8:48Speaker 1: this lesson already. Even if you put the Democrats in power,
- 8:52Speaker 1: the prices aren't going to go down. In fact, they're
- 8:54Speaker 1: actually going to go up because their policies are much
- 8:57Speaker 1: worse for the price of everything, everywhere, all the time.
- 9:01Speaker 3: And that's what it is, right? I mean, it's like
- 9:04Speaker 3: their solution is horrifically bad for us. It's sort of like,
- 9:10Speaker 3: which crappy alternative would you like?
- 9:13Speaker 1: And plus, I have been saying this to friends of
- 9:16Speaker 1: mine that aren't sure who to vote for, which I'm
- 9:18Speaker 1: mystified is real. And sometimes I think they say that
- 9:20Speaker 1: to me because they know what I do for a
- 9:22Speaker 1: living and they don't want to get in a political
- 9:24Speaker 1: conversation with me. But I've been saying to them that
- 9:27Speaker 1: that if you look at everything going on, if you
- 9:29Speaker 1: look at like all the different variables and you say
- 9:32Speaker 1: to yourself, Democrats have again and again made things more expensive.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Don't you know that putting those people in power is
- 9:39Speaker 1: only going to make things more expensive? And if we
- 9:42Speaker 1: do leave the war in Iran, we might do it
- 9:45Speaker 1: the same way we did in Afghanistan. Sloppy and terrible
- 9:48Speaker 1: and cost lives.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you know me, you know why I ran.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I wouldn't have stopped when we stopped in the first place.
- 9:56Speaker 3: And I think once you sort of, once you sort of,
- 10:00Speaker 3: signal that you're willing to not kick the crap out
- 10:03Speaker 3: of somebody every minute of the day for every day,
- 10:06Speaker 3: then they get that signal.
- 10:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Right. And I think we've been played in some way
- 10:11Speaker 3: ever since to a certain degree. Um, By their rhetoric,
- 10:16Speaker 3: and again, I don't like to blame the media for everything,
- 10:19Speaker 3: but I'm in a very bitter mood this morning. But
- 10:23Speaker 3: it's like ridiculous what the media is doing.
- 10:27Speaker 9: It is.
- 10:27Speaker 7: I'll tell you, I left it up. You got it, man?
- 10:30Speaker 2: We got to take a break. Yeah, we got the
- 10:31Speaker 2: music playing. I know you can't hear that. We'll fix
- 10:33Speaker 2: that so you can. We got to take a break.
- 10:34Speaker 2: We'll be back in a bit. KSEV mornings. I'm Craig Collins.

- 14:22Speaker 13: Do you need money? Want to lower your monthly debt?
- 14:25Speaker 13: Are you thinking about a cash-out refinance? Hi, it's Kathy
- 14:28Speaker 13: from Baker Mortgage. A cash-out refinance can get you back
- 14:32Speaker 13: in your comfort zone, and that's what it's all about.
- 14:35Speaker 13: A recent client who closed with us had his payment
- 14:37Speaker 13: go up about $ 300, but his monthly outgo was being
- 14:42Speaker 13: reduced by $ 1, 200, so giving him a net positive cash
- 14:45Speaker 13: flow of $ 900. It's not about adding debt, but restructuring
- 14:50Speaker 13: it in a way that makes sense. And this math
- 14:52Speaker 13: totally makes sense. And please don't sweat it if your
- 14:55Speaker 13: interest rate is going up a little or if you're
- 14:57Speaker 13: extending the term. I can show you by taking a
- 15:00Speaker 13: small amount of what you're saving monthly and applying it
- 15:03Speaker 13: towards your mortgage, you're going to pay it off just
- 15:06Speaker 13: as quickly and you'll be way ahead in the money game,
- 15:09Speaker 13: which is where we all want to be, right? Remember,

- 15:43Speaker 1: The Voice of Texas. My name is Craig Collins. He
- 15:48Speaker 1: is Wayne Dolcefino. Russell, you need to fix Riverside. It's
- 15:51Speaker 1: got a little pop-up on it, and somebody took my
- 15:55Speaker 1: keyboard and my whatever out of this studio. So I can't,
- 15:59Speaker 1: for some reason, I can't fix that either. But the
- 16:02Speaker 1: video's got to get that pop-up removed. How you doing?
- 16:05Speaker 1: That's from Riverside, by the way.
- 16:06Speaker 2: It's not on OBS. How you doing, Wayne? Now you're
- 16:09Speaker 2: on the phone.
- 16:10Speaker 8: Jeez.
- 16:11Speaker 14: I'm doing great. You know, the problem with me is,
- 16:14Speaker 14: and this really is when you know you've gotten old, really,
- 16:18Speaker 14: is when all of a sudden you have no ability
- 16:22Speaker 14: to decipher. I am like the worst person to do
- 16:28Speaker 14: anything at the house to fix anything, to try to,
- 16:32Speaker 14: that's me.
- 16:33Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Can I be honest with you about something? I don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: want this to sound mean. I don't want it to
- 16:38Speaker 1: sound mean because it's not you. It's everybody that asks
- 16:40Speaker 1: me for fixes. I know how quickly I could fix
- 16:44Speaker 1: it if I was there and that drives me crazy.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I don't know how to explain it better than how
- 16:50Speaker 1: I explained it, but I know that if I was
- 16:52Speaker 1: physically there with you, Wayne, it'd be fixed.
- 16:53Speaker 2: And we'd be on the air the better way in
- 16:56Speaker 2: like two seconds.
- 16:57Speaker 14: Oh no, I totally get that, right? But like, my
- 17:01Speaker 14: microphone is green and it sounds like it's on. I
- 17:06Speaker 14: just don't think it's plugged into anything.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Well, so it's not being registered by our program that
- 17:12Speaker 1: is to anyone listening on the radio or wherever.
- 17:15Speaker 2: It's like Zoom.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And so right now, your Zoom microphone that you're selecting
- 17:19Speaker 1: is your computer, not the fancy one that you have
- 17:21Speaker 1: at the studio.
- 17:24Speaker 14: Yeah, look, this is obviously it's a crisis. It really
- 17:28Speaker 14: bothers me a lot. I have to talk to you
- 17:31Speaker 14: on the phone. No, look, As long as Don, can
- 17:35Speaker 14: you see me?
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I can see you.
- 17:37Speaker 14: Okay, so you can see Don Corleone, you can see
- 17:39Speaker 14: the concierge, you can see me. That's the other thing.
- 17:45Speaker 14: When I call repairmen sometimes to come look at something
- 17:51Speaker 14: and they get there and it's like $ 159 or something
- 17:55Speaker 14: and then they go, oh, you just turned it off, right?
- 17:58Speaker 14: Just flip the switch. That's me, okay? I will pay
- 18:04Speaker 14: the $ 159 because I am not smart enough to do
- 18:09Speaker 14: it myself.
- 18:10Speaker 1: And what's funny is if I'm the guy that's called
- 18:12Speaker 1: to show up at that place where someone's going to
- 18:14Speaker 1: pay me $ 159 to flip a switch, I pretend it's more. Like,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I take a few extra seconds. I touch some other stuff,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I look around, and then eventually I flip the switch.
- 18:25Speaker 14: Well, you're a scammer then. You're the kind of guy
- 18:27Speaker 14: that would... You're the guy that would rip people off.
- 18:29Speaker 15: I want my money.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Well, no, I just don't want less money once you
- 18:33Speaker 2: realize how easy it is. That's the thing. It's not
- 18:35Speaker 2: a scammer.
- 18:37Speaker 14: I think you're exposing your true character here. It's about
- 18:40Speaker 14: the money.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, of course it is. It's always about the money.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Isn't it?
- 18:43Speaker 14: That's why you're in radio.
- 18:45Speaker 16: Right.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there's so much money in this industry.
- 18:48Speaker 1: There is a lot of stuff to talk about, as
- 18:50Speaker 1: you said, several different topics that you sent me. I'll
- 18:54Speaker 1: say this, though, before we get into any of that stuff.
- 18:56Speaker 1: The Republican convention, a very odd midterm convention that you
- 19:02Speaker 1: don't see often or ever really, will be happening tomorrow
- 19:07Speaker 1: and Thursday here in Dallas, in Texas. I do think
- 19:11Speaker 1: it's a good idea because I do think the Republican
- 19:14Speaker 1: Party needs more enthusiasm. And I think the convention is
- 19:17Speaker 1: designed to create that for anybody that shows up to it.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I don't know if it'll create a lot of enthusiasm
- 19:22Speaker 1: for people. from afar, but we'll see. But I personally
- 19:26Speaker 1: think it might be a good idea. It's just an
- 19:28Speaker 1: odd idea.
- 19:30Speaker 14: Yeah, look, I don't know that it brings new people
- 19:34Speaker 14: to the tent. Maybe it generates some enthusiasm with the
- 19:39Speaker 14: base voters who are constantly 24 hours a day getting
- 19:43Speaker 14: beat down about what evil fascists we all are. And
- 19:48Speaker 14: I think that wears on you, right? I think a
- 19:50Speaker 14: lot of people are saying, you know, the hell with it.
- 19:52Speaker 14: The country's doomed anyway, right? Why should I, you know,
- 19:58Speaker 14: why should I bother? And I do think there's some
- 20:03Speaker 14: of that. I mean, sometimes it feels... I know we
- 20:09Speaker 14: just won a presidential election, and I get it, right?
- 20:12Speaker 14: That Trump's a unique kind of figure. But I do
- 20:16Speaker 14: worry that as more and more people who don't think
- 20:21Speaker 14: like we do come here from places that don't believe
- 20:26Speaker 14: anything that we believe, don't we just further deteriorate the pie?
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:34Speaker 14: At what point do you say... you know, maybe we
- 20:38Speaker 14: need to, you know, the South shall rise again. I
- 20:40Speaker 14: don't know. I'm just saying it's just, I just sometimes
- 20:44Speaker 14: get pessimistic about it.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Well, no, I think that a lot of people share
- 20:48Speaker 1: that viewpoint of yours, that demographics have changed intentionally, especially
- 20:53Speaker 1: in places like, like the funniest byproduct, I don't know
- 20:55Speaker 1: if funny is the right word, but the least valuable
- 20:58Speaker 1: byproduct of being an attractive place for businesses from West
- 21:02Speaker 1: Coast or, you know, the Midwest or even, I guess,
- 21:06Speaker 1: New York City to move their businesses here. And if
- 21:09Speaker 1: they take their employees with them to Texas, we're getting
- 21:12Speaker 1: some of that imported ideology from the very liberal cities
- 21:16Speaker 1: that these companies are leaving to come here. Beyond that,
- 21:20Speaker 1: we're also getting people that are simply not from this
- 21:22Speaker 1: country that for whatever reason have been given an ability
- 21:25Speaker 1: to be here, mostly by the Biden administration and the
- 21:28Speaker 1: wide open border, who don't give a crap about learning
- 21:31Speaker 1: what it would be to be a mayor. They don't
- 21:32Speaker 1: have any respect for our country. They want to take
- 21:35Speaker 1: advantage of it from the moment they're here. So I
- 21:38Speaker 1: think that those two things together are intentionally changing demographics
- 21:42Speaker 1: enough for us to maybe start to have problems in
- 21:45Speaker 1: places we didn't expect them.
- 21:47Speaker 14: Yeah, I guess the problem is, you know, I guess
- 21:52Speaker 14: we had common sense, right? People, like, we have common sense.
- 21:57Speaker 14: I'm not calling everybody who disagrees with me an idiot,
- 22:00Speaker 14: but sure, why not? Okay, but... I mean, if this
- 22:04Speaker 14: shoe fits, great. But we do have some level of
- 22:08Speaker 14: common sense, and there are some things that we always
- 22:12Speaker 14: believe and still do believe that are just true, right?
- 22:17Speaker 14: The whole man-woman thing, right? You know, look, I'm not a,
- 22:21Speaker 14: you know me, I'm not a huge, let's just run
- 22:23Speaker 14: commercials about transgender people all day. That's not my thing.
- 22:27Speaker 14: I think there's a much better economic story that we're
- 22:31Speaker 14: not telling, that doesn't have to be boring. I thought
- 22:35Speaker 14: Trump's commercial recently, I don't know who put it out,
- 22:40Speaker 14: one of those PACs or whatever, that it was actually
- 22:44Speaker 14: pretty good because it returned the economy. The problem is
- 22:48Speaker 14: we're not telling people what we've done, what Republicans have done, right?
- 22:53Speaker 14: The benefits they've gotten. And you've got to keep beating
- 22:57Speaker 14: that into their head. And there's plenty of money that
- 23:01Speaker 14: Trump supposedly has, or somebody has, I don't know, has it,
- 23:04Speaker 14: but that they have got plenty of money to spend.
- 23:07Speaker 14: Why aren't we spending it? It's sort of like, you
- 23:11Speaker 14: better hurry, guys, because people get convinced because they see
- 23:18Speaker 14: it all the time. and they're sort of like Pavlov's
- 23:21Speaker 14: dog kind of thing.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right.
- 23:23Speaker 14: They keep hearing it. They believe it's true.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You know what's interesting about you saying that, too, about
- 23:26Speaker 1: the money thing? Because I know there's been reports that
- 23:28Speaker 1: Trump is going to throw $ 100 million at Paxton to
- 23:32Speaker 1: help him out, and other people might be doing it.
- 23:34Speaker 14: I think it's 10 to start, I think.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, 10. Okay, 10 to start. And then who knows?
- 23:39Speaker 2: They'll roll from there.
- 23:40Speaker 1: But what I think is kind of interesting about this
- 23:43Speaker 1: is now the excuse of it's too early does go away.
- 23:46Speaker 1: So if anybody, for any sort of strategic reason— was thinking,
- 23:50Speaker 1: I need to save my money till a certain point.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Labor Day is over. So you and I would have
- 23:54Speaker 1: told them to do this four or six weeks ago.
- 23:57Speaker 1: They ignored us to their detriment. So now we're in
- 24:00Speaker 1: the place where they have to do it now. If
- 24:02Speaker 1: we don't see it now, something else is going on,
- 24:05Speaker 1: something else I can't understand. Because it's got to happen now, baby.
- 24:09Speaker 7: All right.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 24:10Speaker 2: There we go. We've got to take a break. A
- 24:11Speaker 2: lot coming up.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I might be able to fix this remotely for you
- 24:14Speaker 1: so we can get this done better.
- 24:16Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 24:17Speaker 1: But it's the KSEV Morning Show. He is Wayne Dolcefino.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I am Craig Collins.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Quick break. A lot more coming up in a bit
- 24:24Speaker 2: on The Voice of Texas.
- 24:26Speaker 7: The Voice of Texas.
- 24:46Speaker 9: If you have roof problems, you can sure see them
- 24:48Speaker 9: when it rains. This is Deb Tejada from Tejas Roofing.
- 24:51Speaker 9: If you see a leak, call me immediately, 281-251-0304. I'll
- 24:57Speaker 9: send over the Tejas Roof Repair Truck.
- 24:59Speaker 6: That truck has everything our experienced crew needs to fix
- 25:02Speaker 6: your roof, right.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Then and there.
- 25:04Speaker 9: The Tejas Roofing crew has been working together fixing leaky
- 25:07Speaker 9: roofs for 15 years.
- 25:09Speaker 6: It's not a pretty truck, but it has everything we
- 25:11Speaker 6: need to get the job done. I kind of like
- 25:13Speaker 6: the way it looks.
- 25:13Speaker 9: Most roofing repairs cost less than $ 500.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Why?
- 25:17Speaker 9: Because we find the cause of the leak and repair
- 25:19Speaker 9: that leak. We won't try to sell you services you
- 25:22Speaker 9: don't need.
- 25:23Speaker 6: And we'll fix it right away because everything we need,
- 25:25Speaker 6: it's in our truck.
- 25:26Speaker 9: Don't put off fixing a leaky roof. Call me at
- 25:28Speaker 9: Tejas Roofing, and I'll send over the truck.
- 25:31Speaker 3: 281-251-0304.
- 25:34Speaker 9: When you think of roofing repairs or a new roof,
- 25:36Speaker 9: think Tejas Roofing, your Houston roofing company.
- 25:39Speaker 17: 281-251-0304.
- 25:39Speaker 9: That's Tejas Roofing, 281-251-0304.
- 25:47Speaker 18: At O'Hare & Company Real Estate, we believe there are
- 25:49Speaker 18: people in our country and other countries that are trying

- 25:56Speaker 18: protect what our veterans and forefathers have fought and died for.
- 25:59Speaker 18: Texans are independent thinkers, self-reliant, and bold. If you want

- 26:41Speaker 17: From the KSEV Weather Center, today expect mostly cloudy skies
- 26:44Speaker 17: with humidity and a chance of a thunderstorm in some
- 26:46Speaker 17: areas during the afternoon, reaching a high of 94. Tonight,
- 26:49Speaker 17: there could be isolated thunderstorms early on, then turning mainly
- 26:52Speaker 17: clear and still humid with a low of 77. Tomorrow's
- 26:55Speaker 17: forecast includes more clouds, humidity, and a chance of afternoon
- 26:58Speaker 17: thunderstorms with a high temperature of 93. Looking ahead to Thursday,
- 27:01Speaker 17: anticipate humid conditions with intervals of sunshine and scattered afternoon
- 27:04Speaker 17: thunderstorms also reaching a high of 93. With the KSEV
- 27:07Speaker 17: Weather Center forecast, I'm AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
- 27:28Speaker 2: KSCV.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on, hold on, Wayne. I know you're
- 27:32Speaker 1: pointing at yours. You'll hear me now. I'm just unmuting
- 27:35Speaker 1: my microphone. KSCV, the voice of Texas. And now I'm
- 27:39Speaker 1: going to make it work for you, so your microphone
- 27:41Speaker 1: will actually now work, which we're very excited about. Wayne,
- 27:45Speaker 1: why don't you talk again and see if we hear
- 27:47Speaker 1: something better?
- 27:48Speaker 3: The hell with you. Look at that.
- 27:50Speaker 12: Does it work?
- 27:51Speaker 7: Look at that.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Yes, it does. It sounds much better now.
- 27:55Speaker 3: All right. Well, you know what? I just want to
- 27:57Speaker 3: point out that that was the most annoying first 30
- 28:00Speaker 3: minutes of my month. First of all, this really is
- 28:04Speaker 3: a Monday, not a Tuesday. It is. Okay. But can
- 28:08Speaker 3: I– I forgot what I was talking about, but I
- 28:12Speaker 3: knew it was important when I said it. But I
- 28:15Speaker 3: got to tell you, I just– I am disgusted at
- 28:21Speaker 3: the Republican Party's political machine. because I don't see them
- 28:29Speaker 3: competing the way they should on social media, okay? And
- 28:34Speaker 3: I get it. There's a lot of big, fat consultants
- 28:38Speaker 3: making a ton of money who are supposedly delivering messages, but,
- 28:44Speaker 3: you know, social media isn't that expensive to actually put
- 28:48Speaker 3: stuff on, right? There are, like, literal weirdos that get
- 28:53Speaker 3: millions of views, so obviously... conceptually true it's possible and
- 28:59Speaker 3: i i don't understand why the parties aren't in a
- 29:04Speaker 3: 365 day campaign like campaigning all the time to remind
- 29:11Speaker 3: people of good things that happen yes right remember eggs
- 29:16Speaker 3: remember eggs we're all freaking out about the egg was
- 29:20Speaker 3: like 80 bucks or something it.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Went down It went down a lot.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it was great. It's like, okay, so they can't
- 29:28Speaker 3: whine about that. So let's find, like, lettuce. Let's infect
- 29:33Speaker 3: some lettuce with a parasite or something. And we all
- 29:37Speaker 3: start crapping on ourselves, and everyone will freak out about that.
- 29:41Speaker 3: It's like the constant need... And this is going to
- 29:44Speaker 3: sound very much that I'm talking against my own business, okay?
- 29:50Speaker 3: All right. But in a way, I am. Because I just...
- 29:54Speaker 3: It was like last night. I went through scrolling social
- 29:57Speaker 3: media for a couple of hours last night because that's
- 29:59Speaker 3: what I do at night just to clear my mind.
- 30:03Speaker 3: The amount of bizarreness. The best article I read last
- 30:08Speaker 3: night was about some researcher who studies farts. And it's
- 30:12Speaker 3: come up. It's true. That's interesting. The average person farts
- 30:17Speaker 3: like 10 times a day or something. Sure.
- 30:20Speaker 2: That sounds about right.
- 30:21Speaker 3: And there's a guy who studies it, and they have
- 30:23Speaker 3: smart underwear. Oh, wait.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I know about the smart underwear thing. I know what
- 30:28Speaker 2: you're talking about now.
- 30:29Speaker 3: And I read that story. I got into it because
- 30:31Speaker 3: I'm saying, you know what? I need some. I need
- 30:34Speaker 3: a break.
- 30:34Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 30:35Speaker 3: We're getting bombarded. Yeah. It's too much input.
- 30:39Speaker 2: It is.
- 30:39Speaker 17: It is.
- 30:40Speaker 1: And the smart underwear is sort of like the smart toilet,
- 30:42Speaker 1: which I feel like is where you're going with all this,
- 30:44Speaker 1: where it tells you health stuff based on what it
- 30:47Speaker 1: analyzes in your fart or in what you're doing in
- 30:50Speaker 1: the bathroom.
- 30:51Speaker 2: That's too much information, man. I don't need to know that.
- 30:54Speaker 11: No, and I already.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Know I'm sick. I've got like two major diseases that
- 31:01Speaker 3: I know of already. So I don't need someone to
- 31:06Speaker 3: analyze my poop because I pretty much know I'm sick
- 31:10Speaker 3: because I wake up every morning.
- 31:12Speaker 1: And honestly, so I have one friend that when he
- 31:15Speaker 1: first got his Apple Watch, he was excited about it,
- 31:18Speaker 1: but it ruined him. because he's already afraid of everything
- 31:22Speaker 1: and the apple watch like any moment where it popped
- 31:24Speaker 1: up your heart rate is rising he thought he was
- 31:26Speaker 1: dying like i immediately realized that the apple watch wasn't
- 31:30Speaker 1: for him and i think there's a lot of people
- 31:32Speaker 1: that are in that bucket of it's not going to
- 31:34Speaker 1: help me to have more information it's actually going to
- 31:36Speaker 1: make things much worse for my day-to-day like Control the
- 31:40Speaker 1: information by not having it is sometimes the best policy.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I think that's right. So what else do you want
- 31:46Speaker 3: to talk about? What's going on?
- 31:47Speaker 2: There's a lot going on. What did you send me
- 31:49Speaker 2: that you want to talk about? You sent me a
- 31:50Speaker 2: bunch of topics.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Did I send you the farts thing? I was sending
- 31:55Speaker 3: you some Islamic kind of stuff.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Well, we should talk about this. I'm upset about this.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I think you're upset about this, too. The Pentagon has
- 32:02Speaker 1: refused to pay out for soldiers who died in the
- 32:05Speaker 1: Iran conflict because it isn't a war.
- 32:07Speaker 2: That's according to The Telegraph.
- 32:10Speaker 3: J.D.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Vance has offered support to a widow who expressed a
- 32:13Speaker 1: lot of frustration on social media. So a Gold Star
- 32:16Speaker 1: family member saying that the financial payout, which I'm sure
- 32:22Speaker 1: she would much rather have the human being that was
- 32:23Speaker 1: in her life still be in her life. But the
- 32:26Speaker 1: financial payout isn't what it should be because the conflict
- 32:30Speaker 1: isn't deemed a war by Congress. There is a lot
- 32:33Speaker 1: of red tape that exists there that shouldn't exist. And
- 32:37Speaker 1: the politicians can get rid of it. I don't know
- 32:39Speaker 1: if you need to blame politicians right now or at
- 32:42Speaker 1: least blame the Trump administration specifically for what's going on
- 32:46Speaker 1: because I don't think they're the ones making this decision.
- 32:48Speaker 15: No.
- 32:48Speaker 2: But they can fix it.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Yeah, look, this is bureaucracy, right?
- 32:53Speaker 7: Right.
- 32:53Speaker 3: You know how I feel about government, man. We should, like,
- 32:56Speaker 3: strip and start all over.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Amen.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Because government is just unsuccessful at doing anything. Whenever I
- 33:03Speaker 3: hear of a new government program, I cringe, okay? Whenever
- 33:09Speaker 3: I'm asked for another bond election, I vote against everything.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I really do. I become that person. I vote against everything.
- 33:16Speaker 3: But we could fix that, get Congress to get their
- 33:20Speaker 3: butts back in session, and on day one fix this.
- 33:24Speaker 3: If you die during any sort of you were ordered
- 33:30Speaker 3: to go do something and you got killed because of it.
- 33:34Speaker 7: Right.
- 33:34Speaker 3: We take care of you and your family forever. And
- 33:39Speaker 3: that's– see, it's stories like that, though, that I just say, really, guys? Yeah.
- 33:45Speaker 3: I mean on day one you come out and say
- 33:49Speaker 3: this is how we're going to fix it, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:51Speaker 3: We're not going to deny a widow or his kids.
- 33:55Speaker 3: or his mom or dad or anything for someone who
- 33:57Speaker 3: gave their life for us. I said it to you
- 34:00Speaker 3: because it really, like, I'm going, like, is this possibly true?
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it probably is true.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And what's interesting about it even more so is this
- 34:08Speaker 1: is one of those moments where the mob guys take
- 34:11Speaker 1: over a little bit because the mafia does take.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Care of their own. They do.
- 34:15Speaker 1: If somebody that you send into a fight somewhere dies
- 34:18Speaker 1: in The Sopranos, they're like, we'll take.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Care of you for life.
- 34:21Speaker 3: So we mess with the family.
- 34:22Speaker 1: You don't mess with the family. And that is our
- 34:24Speaker 1: family in the world. Jokes aside, that is our family
- 34:27Speaker 1: in the world of this country. We should do everything
- 34:30Speaker 1: we can to take care of these people in every
- 34:33Speaker 1: sense of that word. So they should fix this. The
- 34:35Speaker 1: fact that this is something that's out there. And I'm
- 34:39Speaker 1: worried about one thing, though, Wayne. Democrats will want to
- 34:42Speaker 1: use this. as a conduit to a discussion about how
- 34:45Speaker 1: we're not allowed to be fighting because they haven't given
- 34:47Speaker 1: permission for it to be a war. And you should
- 34:50Speaker 1: never dangle the money to a gold star family as
- 34:54Speaker 1: the reason to fight about a political thing.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Look, here's my take. The Democrats are going to make
- 35:01Speaker 3: everything we do or say an issue, right? No matter which,
- 35:07Speaker 3: no matter whether it's door number one, door number two,
- 35:10Speaker 3: or door number three, they're going to find a way
- 35:13Speaker 3: to say, aha, right? I mean, you try to keep
- 35:17Speaker 3: up with how the various parties completely are hypocritical about
- 35:23Speaker 3: former positions they had four or five years ago. And,
- 35:27Speaker 3: you know, now the Democrats want war, right? Then they
- 35:29Speaker 3: don't want war. Who can keep up with it, right?
- 35:35Speaker 3: People are going to come up with BS to explain everything. Look,
- 35:38Speaker 3: I understand that business, right? I totally get it. But
- 35:43Speaker 3: we've got to assume that Democrats are going to attack
- 35:47Speaker 3: us either way. Yeah. So who the hell cares?
- 35:50Speaker 2: No, it's true. Who cares?
- 35:51Speaker 1: But I don't know the amount of votes that you need.
- 35:54Speaker 1: And if you have the amount of votes everywhere to
- 35:56Speaker 1: get something done that changes the payout to someone, regardless
- 36:01Speaker 1: of if it's a war conflict or not.
- 36:03Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 36:04Speaker 1: Like and I'm assuming we have enough votes because Republicans
- 36:06Speaker 1: have control of both the House and the Senate right
- 36:10Speaker 1: now and obviously the White House. So I'm assuming we
- 36:12Speaker 1: can get it done, but Democrats will try to leverage
- 36:14Speaker 1: that position, and they'll literally vote against giving money to
- 36:17Speaker 1: a Gold Star family because it benefits them politically.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Look, I don't want to take advantage of this 9-11 anniversary,
- 36:23Speaker 3: but I do think that it's an opportune time to
- 36:31Speaker 3: remind people how far off the reservation we are getting. Sure.
- 36:38Speaker 3: from what this country believed in and, and, and, and
- 36:42Speaker 3: it reminds people, right? Do I think there's, you know,
- 36:46Speaker 3: do I think there's issues now that we have to
- 36:49Speaker 3: address in this country with the Islamic faith, right? There are,
- 36:53Speaker 3: there are some tremendous, the, I would, I would argue
- 36:57Speaker 3: that I'll be Bush here for a second. Look, this
- 37:00Speaker 3: is not about the religion as so much as people
- 37:04Speaker 3: who hijacked a religion, but it is, it is, no
- 37:08Speaker 3: one can deny it is part of our conversation and
- 37:11Speaker 3: what we think, right? No one can deny that there's
- 37:17Speaker 3: changes in this country that like I said, I, I
- 37:22Speaker 3: have no, I don't care what people wear. Right. But
- 37:23Speaker 3: if I see someone totally covered from head to toe, right. I,
- 37:29Speaker 3: they're different than me. I'm sorry. That's just human nature.
- 37:33Speaker 3: And so I don't think I'm better than them or anything.
- 37:35Speaker 3: I don't even know who the heck they are, but,
- 37:37Speaker 3: But they're very different. And I think there's going to
- 37:41Speaker 3: be a lot of reminders over the next week about
- 37:45Speaker 3: why it is so many people are so legitimately, I think,
- 37:50Speaker 3: freaked out about people who, because we're constantly bombarded with
- 37:54Speaker 3: these speeches these imams make and all these various freaks
- 37:59Speaker 3: make about how they're going to take over America. And
- 38:02Speaker 3: people are worried about that. I think that If for
- 38:05Speaker 3: no other reason than that, you got to come out
- 38:07Speaker 3: and vote.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 38:08Speaker 1: But I think you're right, too, in worrying that the
- 38:11Speaker 1: enemy is now here in this country. And I'm not
- 38:13Speaker 1: trying to say that in a way that attacks everybody
- 38:16Speaker 1: that falls under some blanket of like a religion or
- 38:19Speaker 1: something else. But there are a lot of people that
- 38:21Speaker 1: seem to truly hate the United States that seem to
- 38:24Speaker 1: be living here in this country right now.
- 38:26Speaker 2: And we need to do something to address that.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I don't know, short of just throwing them all out,
- 38:33Speaker 3: and I'm all for that, right?
- 38:35Speaker 2: I'm kind of for that.
- 38:36Speaker 3: You don't want to be here, man, like, you know,
- 38:38Speaker 3: go take a hike on yourself. Leave me alone. But,
- 38:42Speaker 3: you know, people freak out when we go now to,
- 38:46Speaker 3: in the middle of the street, we try to arrest
- 38:48Speaker 3: someone in a car who's a rapist, and half the
- 38:51Speaker 3: country is, like, freaking out, right? Yeah. Oh, poor dad. Look,
- 38:56Speaker 3: breaking news, there are a lot of people who are
- 38:58Speaker 3: dads or that are total scum dogs, right? That are
- 39:02Speaker 3: horrible criminals and they have kids. But we're, we're, it's, we've,
- 39:07Speaker 3: we've allowed the narrative to be woe is me, poor
- 39:11Speaker 3: them instead of the cost to us. And because we're
- 39:16Speaker 3: allowing them to make us like we're bad guys, Because
- 39:21Speaker 3: we don't just want to get walked all over and
- 39:23Speaker 3: treated like you know, the open door with the big,
- 39:27Speaker 3: beautiful walls. That's all nonsense.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I thought it was nonsense when Trump said it.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Well, and I will say one other thing, man.
- 39:36Speaker 1: They always want to paint any conversation as racism. If
- 39:39Speaker 1: you say something that actually might not be about race
- 39:42Speaker 1: specifically or about gender or about whatever, but a true
- 39:46Speaker 1: story that has real facts behind it, they'll paint the
- 39:49Speaker 1: broad brush of, well, you're a sexist or a racist
- 39:52Speaker 1: because they want that conversation to die.
- 39:54Speaker 15: No.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Look, people are afraid of people being different. We could
- 39:57Speaker 3: talk more. We got a break.
- 39:58Speaker 2: We got a break. We got a break happening.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Well, it just happened.
- 40:01Speaker 2: I just had one. Every 15 minutes, we've got to
- 40:04Speaker 2: pay the bills on commercial radio.
- 40:06Speaker 1: A quick break. A lot coming up. This is KSEV Mornings.

- 40:21Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 40:22Speaker 3: You made it.
- 40:23Speaker 2: You didn't make it. I told it what to do,
- 40:26Speaker 2: and then I told it how to change stuff. We'll
- 40:28Speaker 2: be back in a bit. I was involved. It did
- 40:30Speaker 2: most of the work.

- 43:16Speaker 15: there's just one piece of advice I could give every homeowner,
- 43:20Speaker 15: it's this. If your garage door spring breaks, don't try
- 43:23Speaker 15: to fix it. When they fail, they can be dangerous

- 44:01Speaker 1: You're fine not saying your own name.
- 44:02Speaker 3: All right.
- 44:02Speaker 2: He is Wayne Dolcefino.
- 44:03Speaker 1: We are the Mob Guys, and we're here every single
- 44:07Speaker 1: Monday through Friday on The Voice of Texas from 7
- 44:09Speaker 1: to 9 o'clock. I'll be talking to Lieutenant Dan, Lieutenant
- 44:13Speaker 1: Governor Dan.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Patrick, tomorrow on this show. I'm looking forward to that.
- 44:17Speaker 2: It's the first time.
- 44:18Speaker 3: You said I will be. Do I not get to die?
- 44:21Speaker 2: I said we. I said we will be.
- 44:23Speaker 7: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 44:23Speaker 5: That's okay.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Unless you're not showing up tomorrow, it's up to you.
- 44:27Speaker 3: No, well, now, look, if lieutenant governors want to come on,
- 44:32Speaker 3: I would love to come on.
- 44:35Speaker 2: It's your show.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I probably should be here.
- 44:41Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 3: But I'm looking forward to that. They call it Trump. Hey,
- 44:45Speaker 3: by the way, I don't want to change the subject,
- 44:47Speaker 3: but I just read a story that, that the headline
- 44:51Speaker 3: is Netanyahu was personally warned Hamas was planning an operation
- 44:57Speaker 3: 10 days before October 7th attack. It's just come out.
- 45:04Speaker 3: He dismissed the threat, did not alert his security chiefs,
- 45:08Speaker 3: according to a shocking new Haaretz report, right? And Haaretz
- 45:13Speaker 3: is a pretty big publication. I don't know if you've
- 45:17Speaker 3: seen it, but You know, that's been a lot of
- 45:20Speaker 3: the conspiracy theorists, you know, idea about October 7th. Right.
- 45:26Speaker 3: That that a lot of people in Israel knew it
- 45:29Speaker 3: was going to happen. Right. And didn't do anything about it. Anyway,
- 45:33Speaker 3: I didn't mean to interrupt.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Actually, I have a question about that. On a macro level.
- 45:37Speaker 1: I don't mean it specific to the story because I
- 45:39Speaker 1: don't know enough details.
- 45:40Speaker 3: A macro level.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. You know, treat. Yeah,
- 45:44Speaker 2: let's try it. I want to try. Seriously, see the question.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Tell me what you think of it, Wayne, because I
- 45:50Speaker 1: don't know the details enough of this. And I know
- 45:52Speaker 1: that people reporting it are fairly credible, but it's difficult
- 45:55Speaker 1: to understand. I wonder how often leaders like Netanyahu get
- 46:01Speaker 1: warned of eminent threats that are dismissible. I wonder if
- 46:05Speaker 1: it's the same as the amount of people who threatened
- 46:08Speaker 1: to kill me in my social media, for example, and
- 46:11Speaker 1: I'm still alive. So when we when we read this story,
- 46:13Speaker 1: when we see Netanyahu dismiss this, I wonder how frequently
- 46:17Speaker 1: this happens and doesn't wind up being a horrific attack. Yeah.
- 46:21Speaker 3: And look, a lot of times you are caught off
- 46:25Speaker 3: guard by things that happen and you try to think
- 46:28Speaker 3: of all the possibilities. And it's. Just because someone comes
- 46:32Speaker 3: in and says, hey, I think those Hamas weasels are
- 46:34Speaker 3: up to something.
- 46:35Speaker 7: Right.
- 46:36Speaker 15: Right.
- 46:36Speaker 3: It could be that. Right.
- 46:37Speaker 15: Right.
- 46:38Speaker 3: I'm getting some I'm hearing some chatter, blah, blah, blah,
- 46:40Speaker 3: whatever that chatter thing is. Or it could be, look,
- 46:44Speaker 3: I have a cousin. Right. Who is planning to attack
- 46:47Speaker 3: the village of whatever on October 7th. Yeah. If it's
- 46:52Speaker 3: that specific, then it's a problem. But if it's more
- 46:55Speaker 3: of a this is we think they're up to something. Right.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Without knowing the specifics.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Again, with intelligence, from what I understand, sometimes it doesn't happen.
- 47:05Speaker 1: The thing you think is going to happen doesn't happen.
- 47:08Speaker 2: And you're told that it's going to happen.
- 47:09Speaker 1: You're told with fairly large amounts of confidence that you
- 47:12Speaker 1: think it's going to occur, and it still doesn't occur.
- 47:14Speaker 1: So the transparency I'd like in this is to know
- 47:18Speaker 1: how often these types of pieces of information that sound
- 47:22Speaker 1: like eminent threats actually aren't. Because to us on the
- 47:26Speaker 1: outside looking in, You read a story like this and
- 47:29Speaker 1: you think to yourself, how could he have ignored it?
- 47:31Speaker 1: What part of him would have ignored that outside of
- 47:34Speaker 1: the conspiracy theorist who's going to say he wanted the
- 47:36Speaker 1: fight and he was allowing himself to lose lives, innocent lives,
- 47:40Speaker 1: in order to fight that fight?
- 47:42Speaker 2: I don't believe that.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Me either.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Okay, good. You don't believe that either.
- 47:45Speaker 1: So then the truth, then the question becomes, how often
- 47:49Speaker 1: are these threats not credible and how easy is it
- 47:52Speaker 1: to dismiss one? Because if this is true that he
- 47:54Speaker 1: dismissed it, I want to know why. And my assumption is...
- 47:58Speaker 1: because he didn't think it was real.
- 47:59Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I'll probably be criticized for this, but the
- 48:03Speaker 3: truth is not usually black and white.
- 48:07Speaker 15: Right.
- 48:08Speaker 3: There's bad facts, good facts. You know, when the Trump administration,
- 48:13Speaker 3: I think whoever it was, said there was alternative facts. Look,
- 48:17Speaker 3: there are a lot of facts that if put together
- 48:21Speaker 3: makes you come to a conclusion. Yeah. but there are
- 48:26Speaker 3: also facts that could defend that very thing. And, and,
- 48:31Speaker 3: and I don't think the average person has the time
- 48:34Speaker 3: or interest to figure it out. Right. They will, if
- 48:40Speaker 3: all they do is go on Tik TOK, then that's
- 48:43Speaker 3: what they're going to, they're going to, they're going to,
- 48:46Speaker 3: that must be true. Right. It must be true. Yeah.
- 48:50Speaker 15: Right.
- 48:51Speaker 3: And, and, and, but we, and we've also made, legitimate criticisms. Look,
- 48:56Speaker 3: I understand the criticisms of the Israeli government, but I
- 49:00Speaker 3: also understand why they believe that you kill them, they're
- 49:05Speaker 3: going to kill you, right? I saw it. I don't
- 49:08Speaker 3: know if you've ever seen it, but I saw an
- 49:11Speaker 3: interesting piece last night on social media interviewing a bunch
- 49:15Speaker 3: of Israelis on the prospects for peace. and interviewing a
- 49:21Speaker 3: number of palestinians asking them the basic same question right
- 49:26Speaker 3: can you live in peace with these people and the
- 49:28Speaker 3: israelis almost to a person said sure right wow the
- 49:34Speaker 3: palestinians to a person said kill them right yeah They
- 49:40Speaker 3: stole our land. I mean, the reality is we can't
- 49:44Speaker 3: get past that core thing. And when people are taught
- 49:52Speaker 3: and when their government teaches them that from the time
- 49:56Speaker 3: they are like born, you don't ever solve that. You
- 50:01Speaker 3: just don't solve that.
- 50:02Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 50:03Speaker 2: No, I agree with you.
- 50:03Speaker 1: And I remind people every time we get into a
- 50:06Speaker 1: conversation like this, which I don't have these conversations often.
- 50:10Speaker 1: from the river to the sea means kill everyone in Israel.
- 50:13Speaker 1: And that is what Hamas chants. That is what people
- 50:16Speaker 1: in Gaza chant. They do not want peace. They want
- 50:19Speaker 1: the reverse of the situation they believe they're in, which
- 50:22Speaker 1: is they would be brutal toward Israel. I don't think
- 50:26Speaker 1: that Israel is as brutal toward the Palestinian people. And
- 50:30Speaker 1: Palestine's not an actual place, but the Palestinian people, as
- 50:34Speaker 1: news will tell you, they are. But I do think
- 50:37Speaker 1: that that Cheering on one side doesn't get you the
- 50:41Speaker 1: thing that a lot of liberals claim it gets you, peace.
- 50:43Speaker 1: That's not what would occur. If you gave more power
- 50:45Speaker 1: to the Hamas people, they would do something horrible with it.
- 50:49Speaker 3: That's right. And look, those people made a choice in
- 50:51Speaker 3: their government and there are consequences for all this. But look,
- 50:57Speaker 3: we're the people and the Israelis are too. They call
- 51:01Speaker 3: in advance. They drop leaflets. They say, hey, would be
- 51:04Speaker 3: a good idea to get the hell out of the
- 51:06Speaker 3: building on the corner. because we're going to blow it
- 51:08Speaker 3: up in three days, right? I wouldn't do that. I'm sorry.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Call me cruel. I wouldn't give anybody any notice of nothing.
- 51:18Speaker 3: We try to fight these wars, and I'm not advocating
- 51:24Speaker 3: a Ben-Hur movie or something. I'm not doing that. I'm
- 51:28Speaker 3: just saying we've gotten so ridiculous in how afraid we
- 51:35Speaker 3: are To use our power.
- 51:39Speaker 2: You're right.
- 51:40Speaker 3: And it's the same thing with immigration. One of the
- 51:43Speaker 3: great things about Trump is I believe he did give
- 51:48Speaker 3: us the confidence to try to take it back.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Yes.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Right?
- 51:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Now, with all his faults, with all his, you know,
- 51:57Speaker 3: new America, we're going to rename New Mexico? Really? Are
- 52:01Speaker 3: we going to really rename New Mexico? I mean, what
- 52:03Speaker 3: is that? Right. If we could just avoid that stuff,
- 52:07Speaker 3: we'd be so much better off.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Do you really think people vote based on that? Like, really?
- 52:11Speaker 7: No.
- 52:12Speaker 3: I don't think they vote based on that. I just
- 52:14Speaker 3: think schtick works. Look, I'm a big believer in schtick, right?
- 52:19Speaker 3: I give my staff crap all day long. I'm constantly
- 52:26Speaker 3: making jokes and attacking people, whatever. I get it. Yeah.
- 52:32Speaker 3: I get it. It's too much. It's wearing.
- 52:34Speaker 2: I get it. I get it. The break is playing.
- 52:36Speaker 1: That's why I'm trying to turn the volume up in here,
- 52:38Speaker 1: but I might be sending you your own volume back, Wayne.
- 52:40Speaker 2: I apologize for that.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what you were doing.
- 52:43Speaker 1: My bad, because it's in the same thing. We've got
- 52:45Speaker 1: to fix that, too, actually. We've got a lot of
- 52:47Speaker 1: stuff we should improve here at the radio station.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Why don't you get over here during the break?
- 52:52Speaker 1: Yeah, we can just broadcast from there. Don Corleone wants
- 52:55Speaker 1: me to go.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Quick break. A lot coming up. This is The Voice
- 52:59Speaker 2: of Texas. He's Wayne Dolcevino.
- 53:01Speaker 7: Hey, hey!
- 53:02Speaker 2: I'm Craig Collins. We are the Mob Guys.
