- 0:00Speaker 1: I don't know a single living soul that has not
- 0:05Speaker 1: had to make a comeback on some level. You know. Look,
- 0:12Speaker 1: you could be going along in school as a youngster
- 0:14Speaker 1: and all of a sudden fail a test. That's that's
- 0:19Speaker 1: failure to some young people. I don't You can be
- 0:23Speaker 1: a person trying to make a team and don't make
- 0:26Speaker 1: the team. That's failure to some people. It's some people
- 0:29Speaker 1: who get it wrong in a relationship and lose, lose somebody.
- 0:33Speaker 1: That's failure to them. It's gonna happen to everybody at
- 0:37Speaker 1: one point in time in your life. Now, imagine this.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Suppose you decided to never recover from the failure. What
- 0:44Speaker 1: would happen to you? Well, let's look at it. So
- 0:48Speaker 1: you would stay there in that failure, accept it as
- 0:52Speaker 1: a failure, and then allow the failure to define who
- 0:57Speaker 1: you are. I number one thing you have got to
- 1:01Speaker 1: do is stop thinking that one failure defines who you are.
- 1:07Speaker 1: When I'm telling you right now, every failure you will
- 1:11Speaker 1: have is designed to redesign you. That is the design
- 1:18Speaker 1: of failure. It reshapes you, molds you, It causes you
- 1:25Speaker 1: to come out of it a different person. All of them.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I did a speech last night, and I made a
- 1:34Speaker 1: statement because some young person said, man, what happens when
- 1:39Speaker 1: you have when you take a lot of als? You know,
- 1:41Speaker 1: a lot of l's is losses to young people. So
- 1:44Speaker 1: what happened if you take a lot of als? It said,
- 1:47Speaker 1: mister Harvey, have you ever taken an L before? I said, well,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I was looking at it the wrong way. But according
- 1:55Speaker 1: to the way you're saying it, y'all, I took some als.
- 1:58Speaker 1: But I had to learn something. I never had a loss.
- 2:04Speaker 1: All my l's was lessons. And you gotta start understanding
- 2:09Speaker 1: that that the ls you take in life, if you
- 2:14Speaker 1: stop looking at them and losses and look at them
- 2:17Speaker 1: as lessons, oh my goodness, it will help you. And
- 2:23Speaker 1: it's a redefining moment for you to fail at something.
- 2:28Speaker 1: The problem with some people, junior, is that they allow
- 2:31Speaker 1: the failure to keep them too long. Like that failure
- 2:35Speaker 1: that's it. Man. Do you know how many times I failed?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I had failed so many times. But
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know, when I look back on my life, every
- 2:47Speaker 1: time I failed, it taught me something. So I started
- 2:50Speaker 1: understanding that failure was a part of the process. And
- 2:54Speaker 1: once I got that in my head, that failure was
- 2:57Speaker 1: a part of the process. I could, I could handle
- 3:01Speaker 1: it better. Now let me tell you something. Now, let's
- 3:04Speaker 1: be honest as human beings. It's hard. Them lessons is hard, man,
- 3:10Speaker 1: And they throw you sometime. I ain't gonna lie to you,
- 3:14Speaker 1: or they throw you into something. Some of them lessons
- 3:16Speaker 1: is costly. I understand that. But you cannot tell me
- 3:23Speaker 1: one single thing you've ever gone through that God didn't
- 3:27Speaker 1: bring you through. You can't name one. And if He
- 3:31Speaker 1: didn't bring you through it, he's currently pulling you through
- 3:34Speaker 1: it right now. You know how I know that because
- 3:36Speaker 1: you still here, You're still surviving. You're gonna be all right.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But you gotta take them failures, man. And I told
- 3:45Speaker 1: I told the group last night, the failure is a
- 3:48Speaker 1: part of the process. It's how you win. Man. You know,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you know the saying failure is a wonderful teacher. It is.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It's the best teacher I've ever had. My father used
- 4:02Speaker 1: to say something, the best lesson is a baut lesson.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I didn't get what he was talking about back then,
- 4:08Speaker 1: but I knew now. The best lesson is a bout lesson,
- 4:11Speaker 1: the one you pay for. Oh, when you pay for one, Uh, oh,
- 4:17Speaker 1: that one was sink. I'm gonna tell you, man, a
- 4:21Speaker 1: true story. This is a long time ago. I was
- 4:25Speaker 1: driving nineteen seventy two Chevy, and I was in a
- 4:29Speaker 1: hurry to get somewhere. And that was a truck in
- 4:32Speaker 1: front of this school sign, and the school sign was
- 4:35Speaker 1: flashing twenty miles per hour. It was a truck parked
- 4:39Speaker 1: in front of the sign, and I didn't see the sign.
- 4:43Speaker 1: So I went on, I'm doing about thirty five miles power.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Who please pull me over, Please pull me over. I
- 4:49Speaker 1: got a ticket. I told her Man, I didn't see
- 4:53Speaker 1: the sign. He said, Sir, that ain't got nothing to
- 4:54Speaker 1: do with me. He say, it's posted back there and
- 4:58Speaker 1: it's flashing. I say, but I I didn't see the sign.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He said, sir, I don't know how you couldn't see
- 5:02Speaker 1: that sign. That sign has a flashing yell of light.
- 5:07Speaker 1: So I looked back there and I saw it flashing.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I said, but see, Sir, that truck is in the way.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He said, that ain't my business. My job is to
- 5:16Speaker 1: enforce the law. While I was in a hurry to
- 5:19Speaker 1: get to was to court. I was winning this settlement
- 5:23Speaker 1: for this accident I had, and I was getting eight
- 5:27Speaker 1: hundred dollars. On the day that the check came was
- 5:33Speaker 1: my court appearance for the speeding ticket. The speeding ticket
- 5:38Speaker 1: was two hundred and seventy five dollars. I had just
- 5:42Speaker 1: got to check for eight hundred. Brother, that was more
- 5:45Speaker 1: than a fourth of that money gone that lesson right there.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I ain't been through a schools on. If I see
- 5:50Speaker 1: a school, I don't care if the light flashing or not.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I do twenty miles an hour or now. God is good, y'all.
- 5:57Speaker 1: God is good all the time, and all the time.
- 6:00Speaker 1: God is good. You just gotta recognize, y'all. Have a
