Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's almost the famous podcast. We are back in our homes, comfortable, happy, healthy,
- 0:11Speaker 2: rested after a massive golden wedding that brought in a
- 0:15Speaker 2: ton of viewers. We'll talk about that later, but Ashley
- 0:19Speaker 2: to kick us off today. Getting to this golden wedding
- 0:22Speaker 2: was special for everybody's in Palm Springs. I got a
- 0:26Speaker 2: text from your husband that said that Ashley brought a
- 0:30Speaker 2: tuna sandwich onto the plane. I really have no follow
- 0:36Speaker 2: up other than I've never really ever been mad at you.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I've never even really been upset with you, and I
- 0:44Speaker 2: feel like for the first time I was.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Ben, to be totally honest, didn't even realize
- 0:52Speaker 3: when I got it that I was going onto a plane.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I just I didn't connect.
- 0:57Speaker 2: That sounds like an excuse my wife would use, Like
- 1:00Speaker 2: I wasn't thinking, I.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Know, it's a faux pas. I'm so sorry. I legitimately
- 1:05Speaker 3: didn't even think about it until I pulled it out
- 1:07Speaker 3: of the bag on the airplane and I was like,
- 1:10Speaker 3: oh crap, it's tuna. My bad, but also like sorry,
- 1:17Speaker 3: I have to eat it. It's a four and a
- 1:18Speaker 3: half hour flight. That's what I got.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Okay, we're gonna walk through this step by step one.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Jessica always uses, or used to use, the excuse I
- 1:32Speaker 2: wasn't thinking, well no, but just in general, like I
- 1:38Speaker 2: would be like, why did you do that? And she's like,
- 1:40Speaker 2: I don't know, I just wasn't thinking. I was like
- 1:41Speaker 2: that not thinking is not an excuse, Like that's the
- 1:46Speaker 2: opposite of an excuse to me. How bad was it?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Like like outside.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Of you, like it's smelled potent when I first took
- 1:57Speaker 3: it out, and then I was like, okay, but how
- 1:59Speaker 3: far is this really spreading? I would probably just say,
- 2:03Speaker 3: like the person in front of me, maybe the person behind.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Me, probably the person behind them. They were all getting sick,
- 2:09Speaker 2: and you wondered why everybody was getting sick on.
- 2:10Speaker 3: This phone only like fifteen minutes guys of eating. I
- 2:14Speaker 3: I don't think I don't have a problem. If somebody
- 2:17Speaker 3: brought tuna out on my plane, I'd be like, jealous,
- 2:19Speaker 3: I want tuna. I just love tuna so much. Oh yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 3: I don't think the smell grosses me out. Like if
- 2:25Speaker 3: somebody was cooking broccoli on my flight, that would be
- 2:29Speaker 3: gross because you know, when you like cook broccoli and
- 2:31Speaker 3: then you walk into your house a couple hours later
- 2:34Speaker 3: and it just.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Reeks, smells like farts.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that smells like rotten poopy. That smells like poop.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Tuna smells like tuna.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Okay. According to the Public Opinion, seventy five thousand people voted,
- 2:52Speaker 2: ninety eight percent said it was a party fan.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Where are you finding the stat Not that I disagree,
- 2:58Speaker 3: I'm not saying this is.
- 2:59Speaker 2: The this is my poll that I took. This said
- 3:02Speaker 2: is this a party found?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Oh?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and you were one of the two percent that
- 3:05Speaker 2: said it was.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I did. I voted against myself because I was like, oh,
- 3:10Speaker 3: if I was thinking, I wouldn't have done it. But
- 3:12Speaker 3: I but then like, I also like, again, I don't
- 3:16Speaker 3: think i'd I don't think I have an issue with
- 3:17Speaker 3: somebody taking it to I'm just doing it out of
- 3:19Speaker 3: like the kindness because some people react to it like you.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Okay, So we're going to close that chapter and just
- 3:25Speaker 2: say that Ashley, never do it again. Uh, not appropriate
- 3:30Speaker 2: for any flight.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I does freaking sandwich place have tuna? Then at the.
- 3:39Speaker 2: This is all you want?
- 3:40Speaker 3: You eat it before the flight?
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah, this is on you.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Uh.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Then I got a phone call from my good friend Ashley,
- 3:47Speaker 2: a very sweet phone call saying that she got me
- 3:49Speaker 2: a gift for the holidays.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Okay, let's be freaking frank here. I did not get
- 3:56Speaker 3: you a gift. I was given. As influencers do, we
- 4:01Speaker 3: get sent things all the time that we don't ask for.
- 4:03Speaker 3: We have no idea what's coming to our front step.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I've never forgot this sent to me.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I don't know why we did. But Jared apparently talks
- 4:12Speaker 3: about poop sometimes on his podcast, and because of that,
- 4:15Speaker 3: we've gotten a lot of poop wipes, like a lot
- 4:18Speaker 3: of toilet y you know, bathroom wipes, which I always
- 4:21Speaker 3: appreciate those. But we also got this that Ben will
- 4:25Speaker 3: tell you about now. And I just want to say that, like, yes, Ben,
- 4:28Speaker 3: Ben's cute to make it sound like it was a
- 4:30Speaker 3: Christmas gift, but no, it was a free gift that
- 4:32Speaker 3: I just knew we weren't going to actually gifted.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it regifted and she thought of me, which is sweet.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Ashley traveled with this, I want to be clear to
- 4:42Speaker 2: palm springs from Boston and her carry on, you know,
- 4:49Speaker 2: on this podcast. One of the number one things when
- 4:52Speaker 2: it comes to speaking with your voice. Is you know
- 4:56Speaker 2: you don't use potty jokes like this isn't something that
- 4:59Speaker 2: people enjoy list listening to. However, this is different to
- 5:02Speaker 2: me because I felt like it was thoughtful, and I'm
- 5:04Speaker 2: going to consider to think I'm going to continue to
- 5:06Speaker 2: think it was thoughtful no matter what Ashley says. She
- 5:09Speaker 2: got me a bidet, and this bidet is already hooked up,
- 5:13Speaker 2: it is functioning, It is fantastic. Great.
- 5:16Speaker 3: What is it called? Again, we'll give the brand a shout.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Out since oh I don't know.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Shoot, I think it's called Tushy, Tushy something tushy, something.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Tushy the day it's just maybe tushy I think could
- 5:31Speaker 2: be this. That's the brand.
- 5:33Speaker 3: It's called Tushyshy Modern Sustainable Bidet Company.
- 5:37Speaker 2: It is. It is amazing. It is fantastic. Actually, after
- 5:43Speaker 2: so many years of doing this, obviously it's a place
- 5:45Speaker 2: of knowing me to where I would appreciate this and
- 5:48Speaker 2: I would enjoy it, like I just want to say
- 5:52Speaker 2: thank you, and I also want to say it is impressive.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It is so impressive to me that you did put
- 5:57Speaker 2: this in your carry on and fly across country with it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I would have loved for them to check your back.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I would have loved for them to pull this out.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Then you'd be like, yeah, I just I have to
- 6:08Speaker 2: travel with my beidet. You could hook this up like
- 6:12Speaker 2: the way it's set up is, you could hook it
- 6:13Speaker 2: up to your hotel room.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Oh my god, you could. Was the hookup that easy?
- 6:17Speaker 2: It's so easy, It's so beautiful, It's so fantastic. It's
- 6:19Speaker 2: made my life increasingly better. If you have not experienced this,
- 6:24Speaker 2: A lot of the world is still using this technology. Uh,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and the US has forgotten it. And I feel like
- 6:32Speaker 2: it's a it's something we should bring back, something we
- 6:35Speaker 2: should promote and push. And I'm thankful for Ashley for
- 6:39Speaker 2: doing this for me. That was another. So this is
- 6:41Speaker 2: all starting the wedding now. So Ashley travels with a bedet.
- 6:45Speaker 3: You want do you want to explain to people why
- 6:47Speaker 3: I would.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Think that you like of a day I am, I'm
- 6:50Speaker 2: I've a I've always been a non like I've always
- 6:52Speaker 2: been a shower. Yeah, No, I've always been a shower,
- 6:55Speaker 2: Like that's my thing is like you use the restroom,
- 6:58Speaker 2: you go to the show.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, but Ben, what we've heard about you and I
- 7:01Speaker 3: don't know if we've ever even talked about maybe it's
- 7:03Speaker 3: been like very early on in the podcast.
- 7:05Speaker 2: But like you're this is I'm kind of anti paper.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you like, don't use toilet paper.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I'm like this. I like this. I like it. I
- 7:13Speaker 2: like to be supple.
- 7:16Speaker 3: But why is how i'd sustainable or what do you
- 7:19Speaker 3: mean supple? What does that mean?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Non catalyst? Untouched?
- 7:25Speaker 3: Why some poops? A lot of poops require that.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You want or natural?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Well?
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean things happen, but like you, I would
- 7:37Speaker 2: prefer to clean myself with a bidet, which I'm.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Just so glad that now you're not jumping in the
- 7:43Speaker 3: shower after a poop, you are using this bedet. Like
- 7:46Speaker 3: I this is why I got this, And I said,
- 7:49Speaker 3: the only person I.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Know who does this that I'm not the only person
- 7:53Speaker 2: who does this.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Try The only person I know personally from stories that's
- 7:57Speaker 3: going to appreciate this fully is Ben. I get. You know,
- 8:00Speaker 3: the influencer gifts all the time like they're great, but
- 8:03Speaker 3: sometimes they're just like I don't need this, I don't
- 8:07Speaker 3: I you know, I wish, I know somebody would love it.
- 8:11Speaker 3: And I had the opportunity to really pass it on
- 8:14Speaker 3: this time, because I was just about to see you.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And make a man very happy.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And his response in text was so funny. We were like, oh,
- 8:21Speaker 3: my goodness, gracious, this is outstanding.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the best. This is the best gift
- 8:27Speaker 2: I've received in a long time. So Ashley continues to win.
- 8:30Speaker 2: On the way to the wedding, we make it to
- 8:32Speaker 2: Palm Springs, to this golden wedding. It is at the
- 8:36Speaker 2: Lakina Resort. What you've seen on the show. That's where
- 8:40Speaker 2: they and you. Yeah, but they quarantine there, so we
- 8:43Speaker 2: have to see a lot of this resort. It is magnificent.
- 8:46Speaker 2: We aren't getting paid to say that it is a
- 8:48Speaker 2: magnificent resort. It's really beautiful. It's well set up and
- 8:51Speaker 2: the rooms are incredible.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Nice and the scenery. I don't know why. It's like,
- 8:58Speaker 3: my vision looks very HD without glasses. There's something about
- 9:03Speaker 3: those mountains that surround it that are just like crystal clear,
- 9:06Speaker 3: and it looks like you're on a Hollywood backdrop.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It really does. It looks fake. Yeah, And I mean
- 9:12Speaker 2: in a sense Palms Brings its fake because it's in
- 9:14Speaker 2: the middle of the desert and yet there's plants and greenery,
- 9:17Speaker 2: so it is. It looks very like it very much
- 9:20Speaker 2: looks fake when you're there. But it's a beautiful setting
- 9:23Speaker 2: for this wedding. And what I appreciated and what I enjoyed. Uh,
- 9:29Speaker 2: and you weren't. You weren't able to be down there
- 9:32Speaker 2: for most of it. But this was not like it
- 9:36Speaker 2: closed off event, right, So the bar opens up that
- 9:39Speaker 2: evening and it's just dinner with most of the people
- 9:42Speaker 2: from the wedding there. The resort was not closed down,
- 9:45Speaker 2: so there was other guests in there. We had a
- 9:47Speaker 2: huge table full of most of the people who were
- 9:50Speaker 2: attending this wedding.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah and Gary.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Gary was even there, so he came in and
- 9:57Speaker 2: hung out. It was interesting because I got the first
- 10:01Speaker 2: conversation between him and Leslie, like with my eyes. They
- 10:04Speaker 2: were talking and it was your way. Oh yeah. It
- 10:07Speaker 2: was very weird to be so close to something like that.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And or maybe it was Faith. It was Faith and
- 10:14Speaker 2: Gary who were talking. Uh, kind of you know, closing
- 10:17Speaker 2: up any loosens there wasn't. I don't feel like a
- 10:20Speaker 2: lot of loosens there. But I was witnessing it, and
- 10:22Speaker 2: again it kind of brought me back to those memories
- 10:24Speaker 2: that I you know, when you're on the show and
- 10:26Speaker 2: you're like, I'm getting a front row seat. That was
- 10:29Speaker 2: so many people. People are curious about, like why is
- 10:32Speaker 2: Faith here? Why is Leslie here? Are they on good terms?
- 10:35Speaker 2: Is there still you know, pain involved? And were they
- 10:39Speaker 2: forced to come maybe? And so I was getting a
- 10:41Speaker 2: front row seat at these questions getting answers to them.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, do you want to talk about them?
- 10:46Speaker 2: It was fascinating, Yeah we can. We can definitely talk
- 10:48Speaker 2: about We're gonna have.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Some interners interviews with them. Did you talk to Leslie
- 10:52Speaker 3: and Faith?
- 10:53Speaker 2: We did, Yeah, we could talk to Leslie in Faith
- 10:56Speaker 2: and you know, really with Leslie, I was most intrigued
- 11:00Speaker 2: by Ashley, So I was I was kind of thrown off,
- 11:05Speaker 2: you know. It was kind of the rumblings on this
- 11:07Speaker 2: at the side table that we're at during the bar
- 11:09Speaker 2: scene when they were talking, was why is Leslie here?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Like not that she shouldn't be there or she wanted
- 11:15Speaker 2: to be there, but I felt like, okay, but the
- 11:20Speaker 2: answer is she did. She didn't want to be She
- 11:21Speaker 2: was friends with Teresa, she said, and at the end
- 11:24Speaker 2: of the day she was celebrating their love story and
- 11:26Speaker 2: she was so thankful that they found love. And here's
- 11:30Speaker 2: the other part. And she'll go into deeper detail during
- 11:33Speaker 2: our interview with her, and it's definitely worth a listen.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And this makes a lot of sense to me. Leslie
- 11:39Speaker 2: wanted to be there and I want to make that.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Clear, Okay, but that sounds to me like a pr response.
- 11:45Speaker 2: No, And here's why she explained it. She says, as
- 11:49Speaker 2: the runner up, and you know this from your friends
- 11:52Speaker 2: who are runner ups, and from the experience, you're very isolated.
- 11:56Speaker 2: You're not the winner, you're not with the guy, but
- 11:59Speaker 2: you're also you've been on the show long enough where
- 12:02Speaker 2: a lot of the other people have started to hang
- 12:04Speaker 2: out already. If we're talking bachelor and bachelorette, maybe they're
- 12:08Speaker 2: getting asked to go to paradise and they're spending paradise together,
- 12:11Speaker 2: or you know, maybe they're going to dinners together. As
- 12:15Speaker 2: the runner up, you're oftentimes kind of isolated in your view,
- 12:20Speaker 2: not only as like, oh, she made it so far,
- 12:24Speaker 2: but you're not gonna welcome into that feel that earlier
- 12:29Speaker 2: like rejections.
- 12:30Speaker 3: This is a pattern.
- 12:32Speaker 2: It's a pattern. And she said that she's missed out
- 12:35Speaker 2: on one too many times with her friends from the
- 12:38Speaker 2: show and she wanted to experience a weekend with her
- 12:40Speaker 2: friends from the show in Palm Springs, And again she
- 12:43Speaker 2: gets in the more detail on this, But I do
- 12:45Speaker 2: believe after talking to her and after seeing her there,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I think it was probably hard and maybe a little
- 12:51Speaker 2: awkward at times, But I do fully believe that she
- 12:55Speaker 2: wanted to be there and that she's glad she went.
- 12:57Speaker 3: You can believe that, and I will believe.
- 12:59Speaker 2: You don't belie.
- 13:01Speaker 3: I believe that she was encouraged to be there, that
- 13:05Speaker 3: it would be a good look for her to be there,
- 13:07Speaker 3: for her possibly becoming the next Golden Bachelorette, her and faith.
- 13:13Speaker 3: And that's what I think. And I think that what
- 13:17Speaker 3: you're saying was a nice little benefit of going. But
- 13:21Speaker 3: if there was a no strings attached decision, she wouldn't
- 13:24Speaker 3: have gone.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Okay, well, listen to the interview. Hear it from her mouth.
- 13:29Speaker 2: It's gonna be probably we'll put it out there pretty soon.
- 13:32Speaker 2: You'll see it come across our thread. Also, Ashley, you
- 13:46Speaker 2: know that after that evening we kind of jump in
- 13:48Speaker 2: into the next day, which was pretty nonchalant, played some
- 13:51Speaker 2: golf with a bunch of the guys. I don't you
- 13:54Speaker 2: kind of like hung out I played with Jared and
- 13:56Speaker 2: Tanner and Chris Siegfried and Jason Mesnik and Adam Chalk
- 14:00Speaker 2: and Joey the Next Bachelor is able to join us.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Dean and Wells were there as well.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, let us know what he was. What's Joey's vibes? Like?
- 14:07Speaker 3: I got to hang out with him pretty briefly. We
- 14:10Speaker 3: talked about Sydney, who I got on his season, But
- 14:13Speaker 3: that's really all I talked him about.
- 14:15Speaker 2: What about you know, Joe and I've been able to
- 14:17Speaker 2: talk quite a few times now, and he's really great.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Dean actually, and I quote said he's the first Bachelor
- 14:26Speaker 2: he's actually enjoyed hanging out with since Sean.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Low since Sean low Waite.
- 14:33Speaker 2: He did say that that's funny. Uh, But Joey, Joey
- 14:37Speaker 2: is uh. He was really fun to be around. He's
- 14:40Speaker 2: a good golfer. He is very chill, does not seem
- 14:45Speaker 2: overwhelmed at all right now. Does not also seem like
- 14:48Speaker 2: he's desiring more attention than what he's getting. He's getting
- 14:52Speaker 2: a lot of attention, but he doesn't seem to be
- 14:54Speaker 2: out there like searching for it necessarily. He definitely was
- 15:00Speaker 2: is a guy who who wants to find somebody. I
- 15:03Speaker 2: really believe that. I believe his life is in that place.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I have nothing but positive things to say about Joey,
- 15:09Speaker 2: and I also just think he's a good time, which
- 15:12Speaker 2: hasn't always happened with bachelor's that I've hung out with.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I haven't been necessarily saying, oh, I'd love to kick
- 15:18Speaker 2: it with you again. If I'm in Joey's area and
- 15:21Speaker 2: we have an event, Joey will definitely be somebody I
- 15:23Speaker 2: want to hang out with, not only you know, because
- 15:26Speaker 2: he's a great time and he's a nice guy, but
- 15:28Speaker 2: he's just kind of has that like, hey, I'm very
- 15:31Speaker 2: thankful for this opportunity vibe, you know, Like I don't
- 15:34Speaker 2: look at this any differently than what it is. It's
- 15:36Speaker 2: a great opportunity and I've been asked to do something
- 15:39Speaker 2: that is wild and unexpected, and I'm going to enjoy
- 15:43Speaker 2: every moment I can. But I'm also probably going to
- 15:45Speaker 2: be pretty stressed out because I took this very serious.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I like him and I'm very excited for a season.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he's at a cool vibe. He has a swag
- 15:55Speaker 3: for sure, and he he just seemed very comfortable.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, definitely. Okay, So question for you. Actually, you
- 16:05Speaker 2: had mentioned on a couple of podcasts ago you said, Hey,
- 16:08Speaker 2: during Charity Season, you weren't like you thought he was
- 16:13Speaker 2: an attractive dude, but you weren't like blown away. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 2: he didn't like stand out to you necessarily after being
- 16:19Speaker 2: with him in person. Stand out not stand out.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yes, he's very hot.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, he's good.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Looking at he's very very good looking. He looks like
- 16:28Speaker 3: I still say on Charity season, like nice, sweet looking guy. Right,
- 16:33Speaker 3: and then when they brought him out on after the
- 16:35Speaker 3: final rows, he looked like a total stud and I
- 16:37Speaker 3: was like, what kind of bachelor makeover did they give you?
- 16:40Speaker 3: I think it's really all in the hair, and I
- 16:44Speaker 3: that applies in person too. Looks great, super super cute guy.
- 16:49Speaker 3: But like, I know, you're gonna say best looking bachelor
- 16:51Speaker 3: since blah blah blah, and you guys are all beautiful.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Man. Well, I appreciate that. I mean, he's a good
- 16:57Speaker 2: looking guy. I don't think we can take anything away.
- 17:01Speaker 2: You know, if you start quantifying good looks in any situation,
- 17:05Speaker 2: it gets weird.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm not gonna rank you guys right now.
- 17:10Speaker 3: As far as my personal taste goes he is. I
- 17:17Speaker 3: prefer his look to.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Others others.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Not gonna say he's the hottest bachelor ever, but I'll
- 17:25Speaker 3: say that he's He's very handsome.
- 17:28Speaker 2: If you were, if you were on his season, you'd
- 17:30Speaker 2: be thrilled.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Back in the day, Yeah, yeah, I'd be like, Okay,
- 17:33Speaker 3: this is a guy that I would definitely like, yes.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Date. A couple quick hits from the wedding, Ashley, we
- 17:41Speaker 2: get to see a great appearance of you just chowing down,
- 17:44Speaker 2: uh and not meaning to right. I mean, I think
- 17:49Speaker 2: that's some people's speculation is that you saw the cameras
- 17:51Speaker 2: you are by and you're like, I'm gonna take a
- 17:52Speaker 2: big bite of food.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Absolutely not. I was like eating and then I was like,
- 17:55Speaker 3: oh the camera. Oh cameras. I love cameras. I was like,
- 18:00Speaker 3: and then it was like, oh, I totally just ate
- 18:02Speaker 3: on camera and I classic me.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Also, you left the wedding fairly early. So did I.
- 18:12Speaker 2: But here's the deal.
- 18:13Speaker 3: The wedding started, well, yeah, that's kind of why we
- 18:16Speaker 3: the reception four o'clock. Well what do you mean The
- 18:20Speaker 3: wedding started at four, but like we left the reception
- 18:22Speaker 3: at nine. We had to wake up at five am.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I was right behind you at nine.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Really nine, I had to wake up early to record
- 18:33Speaker 2: these episodes, and so I was kind.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Of like, and guys, I wasn't there because we had
- 18:38Speaker 3: to get back for Dawson. I would have had to
- 18:40Speaker 3: because the time change in the flight distance. It's just
- 18:45Speaker 3: it would have been a whole other night of me
- 18:47Speaker 3: staying there. So thank you to Trista for taking care
- 18:50Speaker 3: of and taking care of the spot there.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Okay, two more things, some quick hits. Weh the wedding
- 18:57Speaker 2: was set up like this what we saw on national television,
- 18:59Speaker 2: which was very live. I don't know necessarily. Here's some
- 19:03Speaker 2: questions that I've been getting. I don't know how they
- 19:05Speaker 2: did the commercial breaks because the wedding itself, the ceremony
- 19:09Speaker 2: was very smooth and never had a break once it
- 19:12Speaker 2: got started.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Where were you?
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yes, it did like once they once Susan started, there
- 19:21Speaker 2: was never like an awkward pause.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I think there were certain parts I have to watch.
- 19:27Speaker 3: I didn't watch it live yet. I think that you
- 19:31Speaker 3: mean once the actual ceremony started, I think they may
- 19:34Speaker 3: have fate they it could have been. I like, why
- 19:38Speaker 3: even say anything, I should just watch it back, but
- 19:41Speaker 3: I don't know how who's break.
- 19:43Speaker 2: What I'm saying, Ashley is like for people watching on television.
- 19:47Speaker 2: My dad included, which does not watch a lot of
- 19:50Speaker 2: The Bachelor Show, but he watched this. He goes I
- 19:52Speaker 2: was frustrated because like they would start the vowels and
- 19:55Speaker 2: then they'd be like, after the break, Teresa's vows and
- 19:58Speaker 2: I'd be like, that was not how it played out.
- 20:00Speaker 2: It was very smooth. It was not awkward there. They
- 20:02Speaker 2: did not pause in between like their vowels.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Okay, no, so I'm assuming that they just went without
- 20:08Speaker 3: a commercial break in that stretch.
- 20:11Speaker 2: No, they did have a commercial break. What I'm saying
- 20:13Speaker 2: is they did, but it was not it was not
- 20:16Speaker 2: like when we were there. It was smooth. There was
- 20:20Speaker 2: never a break once it started.
- 20:22Speaker 3: But you're saying there was a break on TV.
- 20:25Speaker 2: There was a break, so there must have been a party.
- 20:28Speaker 3: They just added in the ceremony that they were just like,
- 20:30Speaker 3: we're not going to televise this part.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Sure, that's been a fine way to do it. I
- 20:34Speaker 2: just wanted to give our listeners some peace of mind
- 20:37Speaker 2: because they were frustrated. I think with the amount of
- 20:39Speaker 2: commercials and how awkward that must have been for Gary
- 20:42Speaker 2: and Teresa, and I wanted to let them know that
- 20:45Speaker 2: it was not awkward when you were there, because there
- 20:49Speaker 2: was never a break in the ceremony.
- 20:51Speaker 3: In the ceremony, but let's be really honest, it was
- 20:54Speaker 3: a little awkward that there was a break during the
- 20:56Speaker 3: like processional.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Definitely, oh one hundred percent. But that is the only part, yeah, which, well,
- 21:02Speaker 2: only part that was weird. The ceremony itself was beautiful.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Susan absolutely killed it. I mean just absolutely was amazing, Gary, Teresa.
- 21:11Speaker 2: There was a lot of love in the air. I
- 21:13Speaker 2: did get teary eyed when the daughters made this statement.
- 21:19Speaker 2: You know, the world sees you as the first Golden Bachelor,
- 21:21Speaker 2: but we still just see you as dad. And you
- 21:23Speaker 2: could see this thing on Gary's face of almost like
- 21:25Speaker 2: I've done it, Like it's done. And I did exactly
- 21:29Speaker 2: what I wanted to do, right. I found love and
- 21:31Speaker 2: I stayed true to who I was. Favorite part of
- 21:35Speaker 2: the wedding, Ashley, for me, I.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Think, honestly, like just watching you, but is that awful?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Obviously seeing the lovely bride and groom get married and
- 21:49Speaker 3: be so emotional, that's awesome, But I also just loved
- 21:53Speaker 3: watching Ben who had this king chair on the aisle,
- 21:58Speaker 3: and like everybody else is all like shoulder to shoulder
- 22:01Speaker 3: on these couches, and then we just like see the
- 22:03Speaker 3: Golden Bachelor himself get like this Primes.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I did have like a king chair. Loved it. I
- 22:09Speaker 2: was feeling real cool.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah, And I just like seeing you in like that
- 22:13Speaker 3: hilarious element.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It was fantastic. When I sat down and I had
- 22:17Speaker 2: my own chair, I was thrilled. I mean it does.
- 22:19Speaker 2: You need small moments in life these days to make
- 22:22Speaker 2: you feel more important than you are, and I did
- 22:24Speaker 2: feel pretty important.
- 22:26Speaker 3: You are always like so insecure about your place in
- 22:29Speaker 3: like this bachelor world, and I was like having him
- 22:31Speaker 3: have the king chair, just it gives him some security
- 22:35Speaker 3: for once I.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Might get invited back.
- 22:38Speaker 3: They gave that to you, after all, you're complaining about
- 22:41Speaker 3: having not been this season.
- 22:43Speaker 2: After the ceremony, then we had a great reception with
- 22:46Speaker 2: the Damn Band, who I really couldn't figure out what
- 22:48Speaker 2: was going on there.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Let's explain the Damn Band for a second. So they
- 22:51Speaker 3: are in wedding hangover.
- 22:54Speaker 2: And old school. You know, they're always known for kind
- 22:58Speaker 2: of their funny appearances, but it didn't feel like I
- 23:04Speaker 2: think they were live, but I think I didn't understand
- 23:08Speaker 2: what was happening because it wasn't like they were like
- 23:10Speaker 2: actually singing and then they were done.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a blip in the radar. I was chatting.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I didn't even notice.
- 23:18Speaker 2: The only reason I noticed is because I wanted to dance.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I mean, that's what weddings are all about, and you
- 23:28Speaker 2: couldn't dance to them like it was like I didn't
- 23:31Speaker 2: exactly understand what was happening. So, you know, I pulled
- 23:34Speaker 2: Leslie out on the dance floor and the show is like,
- 23:40Speaker 2: you know, kind of over the intercom or maybe a
- 23:42Speaker 2: producer said to me. I don't know, They're like, okay,
- 23:43Speaker 2: we're dance parties getting started. I was like, I'm out
- 23:45Speaker 2: there and there was no music playing, but people kind
- 23:49Speaker 2: of were dancing. And I think that's what they showed
- 23:53Speaker 2: on TV was me like dancing to like some like
- 23:56Speaker 2: Dan band music that wasn't really playing.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Oh did they put it over?
- 24:00Speaker 2: They put like the Golden Bachelor theme over it to
- 24:03Speaker 2: make probably to make it look less awkward for me
- 24:05Speaker 2: because I was dancing to nothing like there. I thought
- 24:07Speaker 2: the dance party was starting and I like twenty seconds
- 24:10Speaker 2: I was in. I was like, Leslie's told me. She
- 24:12Speaker 2: looked at me, she shoes there's no music planing. I
- 24:14Speaker 2: was like, you're right, there's no music.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Plan see when I'm just this is his proof that
- 24:19Speaker 3: at weddings, which I am not a dancer, I do
- 24:21Speaker 3: not like today. I don't enjoy it. Guys. What I
- 24:24Speaker 3: enjoy at weddings is sitting next to some of my
- 24:27Speaker 3: lady friends and just sitting at the table and chatting. Okay,
- 24:31Speaker 3: just because I don't like dancing doesn't mean I'm not
- 24:32Speaker 3: gonna have fun. It's just I'm not a dancer. And
- 24:35Speaker 3: this is just proof that I had. I was not
- 24:39Speaker 3: going to listen to them when they told me to dance,
- 24:41Speaker 3: because I didn't even know that unfolded that you were
- 24:43Speaker 3: dancing to nothing. All I know is that you had
- 24:45Speaker 3: some viral moments with Caitlin and you look like you
- 24:48Speaker 3: were having a great time and you were definitely on something.
- 24:51Speaker 3: You were here in some beat in your head. Because
- 24:53Speaker 3: I saw some like some little videos with overlay that
- 24:57Speaker 3: said something like like when you find your your ax
- 25:00Speaker 3: on the dance floor. Because it's just It's sweet how
- 25:03Speaker 3: you and Kitlyn obviously have a nice friendship, and it's like,
- 25:06Speaker 3: once upon a time you did have a fantasy sweet too.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, we've always been friend though. Let's be clear, Like
- 25:13Speaker 2: I knew my role in that season, and it was
- 25:16Speaker 2: definitely in a friends in the friend zone. I was
- 25:19Speaker 2: like a safety net to come to when things got
- 25:22Speaker 2: too dramatic during that season. Kaitlyn I will always be friends.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I mean, I think Kaitlyn is one of the most interesting,
- 25:29Speaker 2: caring people I've ever met. And you know what, like,
- 25:36Speaker 2: if we're honest here, this wedding was a little awkward
- 25:40Speaker 2: for her.
- 25:40Speaker 3: She couldn't really bring this up.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you had coming off of last week's rumors, uh,
- 25:47Speaker 2: and kind of like New Year's pictures, you had Tasha
- 25:52Speaker 2: and Caitlyn in the same room, which you know, we
- 25:54Speaker 2: kind of hinted at desiring. I actually the time did
- 25:57Speaker 2: not know that Taysha was going to be at the wedding.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I knew that she was invited, but I was feeling
- 26:03Speaker 3: like in the lead up of that week that one
- 26:05Speaker 3: of them might just be like, you know, I decided
- 26:07Speaker 3: not to come. I don't need that camera that FaceTime,
- 26:11Speaker 3: right I don't need you to like flash in my face,
- 26:13Speaker 3: then flash to Caitlin's face. And in my podcast leading
- 26:16Speaker 3: up to the wedding, I was asking, like all the
- 26:20Speaker 3: people I was interviewing, are we going to see some
- 26:22Speaker 3: drama between this? Are they going to do the whole
- 26:26Speaker 3: split screen type thing between the two of them. They
- 26:29Speaker 3: did not create any drama at this wedding, which is
- 26:32Speaker 3: kind of what my gut said they weren't going to.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I saw that they were actually sitting at your dinner table,
- 26:49Speaker 3: and I between the two of them, legitimately told like Caitlyn,
- 26:53Speaker 3: and I think I have told teachers too. I talked
- 26:55Speaker 3: to them both.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I like them both, they're both friends of mine.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I was just of course me too. So I was like,
- 27:00Speaker 3: you know what, my theory is that like at this
- 27:04Speaker 3: age and place that we are, and there's so many
- 27:06Speaker 3: people here, if you don't want to say hi to someone,
- 27:09Speaker 3: you don't have to say hi to someone, just you know,
- 27:12Speaker 3: walk on by. And then I said, there plays the
- 27:16Speaker 3: same dinner table in the non televised reception, tell me
- 27:21Speaker 3: about that.
- 27:22Speaker 2: So after the reception that people saw on TV and
- 27:26Speaker 2: when that was over, they did have a non televised reception,
- 27:29Speaker 2: which was beautiful and so much fun. I mean, it
- 27:32Speaker 2: was really a big party, and it felt like any
- 27:34Speaker 2: other wedding you've ever been at. There were not cameras
- 27:38Speaker 2: other than you know, kind of the wedding cameras and
- 27:41Speaker 2: cell phones. There was an incredible band that you know,
- 27:46Speaker 2: played and kept the music going all night. Great dancing,
- 27:50Speaker 2: great drink, incredible food. But yeah, everybody sat at tables
- 27:53Speaker 2: assigned seats, and Wells and I kind of were sitting
- 27:57Speaker 2: next to each other. You had your plate like you
- 28:00Speaker 2: had a marker and where you're sitting, and I was sitting.
- 28:03Speaker 2: It just ended up being Caitlyn was on my left,
- 28:05Speaker 2: Wells was then one seat over from her, and then
- 28:09Speaker 2: Tasha or it was Ellen from The Golden Bachelor, and
- 28:12Speaker 2: then Tasha to my right. They you know, I just
- 28:16Speaker 2: think they did exactly what you said. I think the
- 28:20Speaker 2: philosophy is, hey, there's a lot of rumors up in
- 28:22Speaker 2: the air. I don't think we're going to clear it
- 28:26Speaker 2: up tonight at a wedding. And so there wasn't a
- 28:30Speaker 2: lot of conversing, which is probably fair. And so there
- 28:33Speaker 2: was no drama, which is also very fair. The only
- 28:36Speaker 2: drama of the evening was the fact that Braden and
- 28:39Speaker 2: Christina got engaged at a wedding. We love love here,
- 28:43Speaker 2: celebrate love. But I never knew you could do that,
- 28:48Speaker 2: Like when you're at somebody else's wedding, can you get engaged?
- 28:52Speaker 3: When the iHeart team texted us about this and like
- 28:55Speaker 3: whether it was appropriate or not because it happened on
- 28:59Speaker 3: a Bachelor wedding, I didn't even think twice about it.
- 29:01Speaker 3: I was like, sure, of course that's gonna happen. Like
- 29:04Speaker 3: if there was a proposal on the table, one to
- 29:07Speaker 3: be had, I'm pretty sure it would be encouraged. And
- 29:12Speaker 3: I guess outside of the Bachelor world that would be
- 29:15Speaker 3: the worst thing ever. But I think it's totally fine here.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I don't think like that Christina and Braden are going
- 29:21Speaker 3: to overshadow the couple.
- 29:23Speaker 2: No, And it was into such a separate environment that
- 29:26Speaker 2: it never kind of crossed over, and it wasn't like
- 29:29Speaker 2: people were celebrating the two of them at the reception.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I said, at one point, Braiden walked up and I
- 29:33Speaker 2: was like, hey, man, you're engaged, Like congrats, Like it's
- 29:37Speaker 2: a big deal.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Like if Leslie got engaged, or like Faith got engaged,
- 29:40Speaker 3: like okay, but it seemed like a little bit of
- 29:42Speaker 3: separate worlds.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it was in like a.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Countdown section of the episode as well, you know it
- 29:48Speaker 3: was it just seemed like a bachelor reunion show at
- 29:50Speaker 3: that point.
- 29:51Speaker 2: In any other world, this is totally inappropriate. In this world,
- 29:56Speaker 2: it just feels like it fits. Now, why did the
- 29:59Speaker 2: show want this? I don't know, Like, I don't know
- 30:01Speaker 2: why they can tell, Like, here's my take on the
- 30:04Speaker 2: Golden Bachelor, and then we'll get into some of the headlines.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Here my take on The Golden Bachelor's people liked it
- 30:11Speaker 2: because of the authenticity, kind of the lack of bachelorness
- 30:15Speaker 2: to it, Like it wasn't tacky, it wasn't overblown, it
- 30:20Speaker 2: wasn't dramatic. There's a genuineness, there's an authenticity. There was
- 30:24Speaker 2: a kind of a clean list to it, like it
- 30:26Speaker 2: was like it was almost put on a pedestal where
- 30:29Speaker 2: it was protected. And I do feel like this wedding
- 30:32Speaker 2: at times felt too bachelor esque to me, Like it
- 30:37Speaker 2: could have just been a beautiful ceremony and the show
- 30:40Speaker 2: would have done great. But I do feel like the
- 30:43Speaker 2: show needs to be smart when it comes to what
- 30:46Speaker 2: they allow to enter into their Golden Bachelor's show because
- 30:50Speaker 2: you don't want to diminish the value and the realness
- 30:54Speaker 2: of that show yet. I mean, they've you know, it's
- 30:57Speaker 2: it's a very fine line, and I do I think
- 31:02Speaker 2: the Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette can be that show that
- 31:04Speaker 2: you watch for like inspiration, for emotion, for true story,
- 31:11Speaker 2: and it doesn't need the other stuff added in.
- 31:14Speaker 3: And you thought that this made it borderline.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I think it made a borderline. Yeah, I do. I do.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I think it made it borderline. I mean again, I'm
- 31:22Speaker 2: very happy. Brandon and Christina were a beautiful couple and
- 31:25Speaker 2: they seem very excited to be together and engaged, and
- 31:29Speaker 2: they are both very happy, and I want to I
- 31:32Speaker 2: don't want to take that away from them, like this
- 31:33Speaker 2: is a great moment for them. And I know there
- 31:36Speaker 2: were reasons why they probably did it on television. There's
- 31:39Speaker 2: incentives not to get paid. But Neil Laine was there,
- 31:43Speaker 2: so who knows where that ring came from.
- 31:45Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that got Neil Laine rang, which that's nice.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a nice thing. And I understand you know
- 31:53Speaker 2: why you'd be like, yeah, let's just go ahead and
- 31:55Speaker 2: do it on TV and get to Neil Lane ring
- 31:58Speaker 2: and right off into the sunset. I get that, and
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm not mad at him for it. I just think
- 32:03Speaker 2: the show and it's set in general needed needs to
- 32:07Speaker 2: be protective of this new kind of franchise that they're
- 32:11Speaker 2: they're spinning off, because I think it has a lot
- 32:13Speaker 2: of potential and you don't want to cheapen it, I guess,
- 32:17Speaker 2: is my point. Maybe people will disagree with me, but
- 32:19Speaker 2: I just I don't I want The Golden to always
- 32:22Speaker 2: be that show that we watch and learn from and
- 32:25Speaker 2: not watch and maybe go, oh, yeah, that crazy bachelor
- 32:30Speaker 2: stuff like they're dressed up in wedding dresses again and
- 32:32Speaker 2: they're yeah running through the field, Like I don't want that.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I want that to be taken away here.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Yeah. On another note, uh funny because bray Dien wanted
- 32:43Speaker 3: to make sure that her nails were done, so he
- 32:46Speaker 3: was like, why don't we go the spot together and
- 32:49Speaker 3: we'll both get our nails done and I'll get my
- 32:51Speaker 3: na I'll get a manicure for the first time. And
- 32:53Speaker 3: she was all like, I don't know, like I think
- 32:56Speaker 3: I'm okay, Like he needed to drag her to this thought.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Really cute. And it was also the week before they
- 33:06Speaker 3: moved to Nashville. He got a job in Nashville, so
- 33:09Speaker 3: he could be obviously they're moving to her because she
- 33:12Speaker 3: has a daughter.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, long story short. I had a lot of
- 33:17Speaker 2: fun at the wedding. The after reception was my favorite part.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Everybody let loose, Everybody had a good time. There was
- 33:25Speaker 2: incredible dancing. Again, there was very little drama. I'm very
- 33:32Speaker 2: thankful that this reunion of sorts. Tristas said it a
- 33:35Speaker 2: lot during our interviews. She's always very thankful for these
- 33:38Speaker 2: get togethers again because they are there reunions and their
- 33:43Speaker 2: places for us to kind of regroup and be in
- 33:46Speaker 2: person with each other, and we get to catch up
- 33:48Speaker 2: on what's going on in each other lives, we get
- 33:51Speaker 2: to have fun together, we get to be friends again,
- 33:54Speaker 2: and we don't just have to read about each other
- 33:57Speaker 2: in the headlines. And that's oftentimes how we keep up
