- 0:25Speaker 3: you seacrets you want to see out of the back room, Maya?
- 0:28Speaker 3: Or did you already? Hello? You probably did already because
- 0:31Speaker 3: they put you on hold. Who did you speak with
- 0:33Speaker 3: to put you on hold?
- 0:34Speaker 5: Maya?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Oh god?
- 0:36Speaker 6: I what about her name? Why would you do this?
- 0:38Speaker 3: Because I want to make sure that our guest services
- 0:40Speaker 3: are up to par Okay, it was up to pr
- 0:45Speaker 3: my How was your experience.
- 0:48Speaker 1: With the back room?
- 0:51Speaker 6: I'd say six and a half.
- 0:52Speaker 3: A little quality control here? What could we do better?
- 0:55Speaker 3: What could we do to make the first few seconds
- 0:57Speaker 3: of your call better?
- 0:59Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:00Speaker 8: How was your day?
- 1:01Speaker 9: How was your day going?
- 1:03Speaker 3: Constructive criticism back? You guys are rushy ruy.
- 1:08Speaker 6: She didn't give a damn Oh.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Fire guys, quality controls second?
- 1:21Speaker 10: But for the back room right now?
- 1:24Speaker 3: Well, Maya, maybe you'll get called that next time. Okay,
- 1:27Speaker 3: let's go. So what can we do to help?
- 1:31Speaker 6: Okay, So one of my friends from the East Coast,
- 1:34Speaker 6: she was recently, came to visit me. The visit was
- 1:38Speaker 6: totally unprompted. I had no idea she was coming, but
- 1:41Speaker 6: I was super excited, you know, I've been working. Kind
- 1:44Speaker 6: of happy to see an old friend. But I didn't
- 1:46Speaker 6: know she was coming. So she came on Friday morning,
- 1:50Speaker 6: and then she left Monday morning. That Friday, I didn't
- 1:54Speaker 6: take off of work. You know, she didn't give me
- 1:56Speaker 6: notice she was coming, so I didn't take off of work,
- 1:58Speaker 6: and I had, honestly the biggest meeting with this client.
- 2:02Speaker 6: They've been super picky, so I could not not do
- 2:07Speaker 6: the meeting, you know what I mean. So I worked
- 2:10Speaker 6: from home on Friday, so I figured it wasn't that
- 2:12Speaker 6: big of a deal. Anyway, I was able to welcome
- 2:15Speaker 6: her when she came. But as soon as she came,
- 2:18Speaker 6: like you know, I had cinnamon rolls and stuff like that,
- 2:20Speaker 6: But as soon as she came, I had to go
- 2:22Speaker 6: into my home office and work. But this is the
- 2:26Speaker 6: weird part. So now that a few weeks have gone by,
- 2:30Speaker 6: she she kind of let me know that she was
- 2:32Speaker 6: upset that I didn't take off work that first day,
- 2:36Speaker 6: and she thinks it was rude, and you know, she
- 2:39Speaker 6: came to visit me and she had to stay in
- 2:42Speaker 6: the house. So I just wanted to get your guys'
- 2:45Speaker 6: opinion on the situation, right, Like I'm already stressed out
- 2:52Speaker 6: with work and stuff like that. And it wasn't like
- 2:54Speaker 6: I didn't tell her where to go, like this is
- 2:57Speaker 6: a good place to go for lunch.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I mean, put this in your terms, because we heard
- 3:03Speaker 3: that your experience with Ruby was a six and a
- 3:05Speaker 3: half on a scale of one to ten. I did
- 3:08Speaker 3: not answer the phone. Who answered the phone? It was me?
- 3:13Speaker 3: I heard Ruby, she said, thought somebody said Ruby, So
- 3:17Speaker 3: Michayla was a six point five. I stand corrected. Anyway,
- 3:20Speaker 3: The point is, on a scale of one to ten,
- 3:22Speaker 3: how would you rank your friendship closeness with this friend
- 3:25Speaker 3: because she sounds like a lot of work.
- 3:26Speaker 7: Good question.
- 3:30Speaker 6: You know, our friendship has been pretty good, I say,
- 3:34Speaker 6: I mean I don't it's it's been pretty good, like honestly,
- 3:37Speaker 6: but pretty good?
- 3:38Speaker 3: Is it five?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Like?
- 3:39Speaker 3: What is pretty good? On a one to ten?
- 3:41Speaker 6: It's like an eight point five?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Okay, that's pretty good.
- 3:45Speaker 6: Yeah, considering, you.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Know, but okay, where's your friend now? Is she gone?
- 3:53Speaker 6: Yeah, she's back in New York.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Okay, So I think that, I mean, we're we're kind
- 3:57Speaker 3: of past it. But I just think that that's a
- 3:59Speaker 3: lot for your friend to ask you to be off work.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You got to get your stuff done, and you had cinnamon.
- 4:03Speaker 10: Butts and you had no notice.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Thank you. I guess our point, Maya, is it has passed,
- 4:10Speaker 3: like life goes on. Let's not carry guilt on this one.
- 4:12Speaker 3: There's enough things in the world that cause pressure, stress, anxiety, cortisol.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Let's not cause guilt on this one. I don't think so.
- 4:17Speaker 10: And she is one hundred percent in the wrong.
- 4:20Speaker 3: There you go. That's our ruling. I had a gavel
- 4:23Speaker 3: to hit it.
- 4:23Speaker 7: Well, nobody's one hundred percent the wrong.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Thank you very much, by good luck, Thank you honestly, Maya. So, Michaela,
- 4:30Speaker 3: what happened when you're the phone doers?
- 4:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know, said hi, is as Maya?
- 4:34Speaker 4: She said yes.
- 4:35Speaker 11: I was like, I'm putting on hold for a second
- 4:37Speaker 11: and Ryan will be with you shortly.
- 4:39Speaker 12: She wanted to ask her, how are you?
- 4:43Speaker 7: I was just trying to get her down as quick
- 4:44Speaker 7: as possible.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I thought it was a good call. You know, No,
- 4:46Speaker 3: this show moves at lightning speed, and you were just
- 4:49Speaker 3: doing your job of getting it getting up there, because
- 4:52Speaker 3: you know, if you didn't have it on hold, Mark
- 4:53Speaker 3: would be waving his wrists around.
- 4:55Speaker 11: The planes over here and jumping up and down hot Pepper.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Literal like jumping jacks that he does at the beginning
- 5:04Speaker 2: of the show.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Now, then you put yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly, he's gonna
- 5:16Speaker 3: pull an arm socket.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Yea, honestly, haven't hurt me, all right, I.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Know it's dangerous, So just doing your work.
- 5:23Speaker 7: Next time, I'll just ask how she is, Mark, and
- 5:25Speaker 7: you have to wait.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I need I need that ten.
- 5:27Speaker 7: I need that ten, not a six point five.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Thanks, that's a little real for us. We can't take
- 5:36Speaker 3: six five even it is. Give us an eight kiss right,
- 5:39Speaker 3: it's one o two point seven kiss FM. I let
- 5:42Speaker 3: me grab Liz real fast here, Liz, good.
- 5:44Speaker 12: Morning, Good morning.
- 5:46Speaker 8: How are you?
- 5:47Speaker 3: I'm good? And Liz, what's happening?
- 5:50Speaker 8: I just need some advice. My brother in law, my
- 5:55Speaker 8: husband's younger brother, he basically took my baby's name for
- 6:00Speaker 8: his dog, and like he asked me permission, but he
- 6:04Speaker 8: did it in the family chat, so it was like, really,
- 6:07Speaker 8: put me on the spot.
- 6:08Speaker 3: And stole your baby's name that has not arrived yet
- 6:12Speaker 3: for his dog.
- 6:13Speaker 8: Right, So like, I'm not pregnant yet, I do have
- 6:16Speaker 8: a little boy, but you know we are thinking of
- 6:19Speaker 8: expanding our family and if I have a little girl someday,
- 6:21Speaker 8: like I want it. The name's Piper, Piper Palmer. And
- 6:25Speaker 8: he's like, can we name our dog Piper? And I
- 6:27Speaker 8: was just, uh, like it got super award.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You know, Piper's gonna pick pickles, pick pickles, Liz, did
- 6:40Speaker 3: did your brother in law know that Piper was on
- 6:43Speaker 3: your baby reserve list?
- 6:45Speaker 8: Yes, like he asked permission in the chat.
- 6:48Speaker 3: This is a foul. Yeah, this is a foul.
- 6:52Speaker 10: This is you can't share the names with anybody.
- 6:57Speaker 3: You got to use a little bit of common sense
- 7:00Speaker 3: judgment here, brother in law, Like when someone picks it
- 7:02Speaker 3: for their baby, you can't make it a pet name.
- 7:06Speaker 2: And what is his reasoning that you haven't had the
- 7:09Speaker 2: baby yet and you're not even pregnant that it's okay.
- 7:13Speaker 8: Right, He's like, you know, it's all hypotheticals, so you know,
- 7:16Speaker 8: we might as well have the name in the family
- 7:18Speaker 8: and I'm.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Just like, I mean, for all you know, yeah, he
- 7:23Speaker 2: may have a point, like what if your next baby
- 7:25Speaker 2: is a boy, would you name him Piper?
- 7:28Speaker 8: No, I see it definitely as a girl name.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Okay, I don't know.
- 7:32Speaker 12: So I'm like, how do we do that?
- 7:34Speaker 3: Now we need to get back.
- 7:36Speaker 7: There's no tip for tat here.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Well, I'd like for there to be one. I just look,
- 7:41Speaker 3: that's a bit rude, and I think it's not so thoughtful.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And I like it's like when someone tells me their
- 7:46Speaker 3: child's name is Georgia. Everything about me wants to scream
- 7:48Speaker 3: with excitement to say my dog's name is Georgia. But
- 7:50Speaker 3: I bite my tongue. Yeah, I don't talk, like, how
- 7:55Speaker 3: many sonnies have you met as kids, Tony, Right.
- 7:57Speaker 11: Honestly, not somebody, not somebody.
- 8:02Speaker 10: I've met a few Dakota's, so I know what you mean.
- 8:04Speaker 3: And you want to go, oh my god, my dog
- 8:05Speaker 3: is named Dakota and then and then they're like, oh thanks, Yeah, First,
- 8:11Speaker 3: this is a strike. This is strike for your brother
- 8:13Speaker 3: in law. Are you going to change the name or
- 8:16Speaker 3: you gonna do it? What are you going to? What's
- 8:17Speaker 3: your move?
- 8:19Speaker 8: Well, I'm just wondering, like, am I a monster if
- 8:21Speaker 8: I ask him not to use it?
- 8:22Speaker 12: Now?
- 8:23Speaker 3: No? No, please? Okay the dog can relearn?
- 8:27Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I know. It's kind of like it's they've
- 8:32Speaker 8: only had it for a couple of weeks now, so
- 8:33Speaker 8: I'm just like, okay, maybe I just dogs don't.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Know Piper from diaper, so call the dog diaper.
- 8:39Speaker 10: I mean, one name is dog diaper. But Liz, what
- 8:44Speaker 10: is your's?
- 8:45Speaker 4: Right?
- 8:45Speaker 7: We could call Sonny like funny funny and she will
- 8:49Speaker 7: just come.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's about the inflection.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Huh.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So why did you come up with an alternative? Lace stuff?
- 8:55Speaker 4: Names it?
- 8:55Speaker 3: Ryme with Piper?
- 8:56Speaker 10: I mean, the dog's not going to be around forever.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, dark dark. But it's true.
- 9:05Speaker 2: This happened in my family. So that's why I have
- 9:08Speaker 2: a frame of reference. Who was it was Riley? And
- 9:12Speaker 2: my my sister adopted this dog from a family in Boston,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and so the dog's name was already Riley.
- 9:17Speaker 10: But we have a nephew named Riley.
- 9:19Speaker 2: And so when we when she got the dog, I
- 9:20Speaker 2: was like, were you going to keep the name Riley?
- 9:23Speaker 2: And she kept it and then now the dog's not
- 9:25Speaker 2: with us anymore. Anyways, and we still have my nephew obviously.
- 9:28Speaker 3: But it happens. Well again, this went for a turn. Listen,
- 9:31Speaker 3: thank you for calling into the world.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Let him name the dog Piper, and then maybe in
- 9:36Speaker 2: five years you have your Piper and it's gonna be
- 9:38Speaker 2: all be fine.
- 9:39Speaker 8: Gosh, Okay, what's the pickle thing?
- 9:44Speaker 11: What is Peter Piper picked a pair of pickle peppers?
- 9:46Speaker 11: If Peter Piper picked a pair of pickle peppers, howney
- 9:48Speaker 11: pickle peppers and Peter pepper.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Pips who never, like no one's ever been able to
- 9:54Speaker 3: do that? You do that?
- 9:57Speaker 10: Like Mantra.
- 9:59Speaker 3: This is vision Board Mantra. She loves pickles this year.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Kiss if you just got here, thanks for coming along.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Got a lot more show to go and sistany yes, Tanya, yes,
- 10:14Speaker 3: Meet Alison?
- 10:15Speaker 7: Hi Alison, Hi Alison?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Hello? How are you Alison?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:20Speaker 10: What's going on?
- 10:21Speaker 4: I'm pretty good? How are y'all? Well?
- 10:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it says see, I just know what it says
- 10:27Speaker 3: on the screen. I am single and I'm tired of
- 10:30Speaker 3: being used as entertainment for my married friends. Oh my gosh,
- 10:34Speaker 3: tell me what that means to the choir.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm basically the last single person. In my friend group,
- 10:41Speaker 4: everyone's married or in long term relationships, And like you
- 10:46Speaker 4: just said, I just feel like my friends are seeing
- 10:48Speaker 4: me less as a friend more as a form of entertainment.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Like whenever we're together, they love pulling out my phones
- 10:54Speaker 4: going through the dating apps like it's a game. They'll
- 10:56Speaker 4: swipe through people and make jokes and then ask me
- 10:59Speaker 4: to tell them any my recent dating stories. At first,
- 11:02Speaker 4: like I went along with it because I thought it
- 11:04Speaker 4: was kind of funny too, and I thought they were
- 11:06Speaker 4: helping me. But now I'm realizing that that's not really
- 11:09Speaker 4: the case. I feel like my love life isn't really
- 11:12Speaker 4: being taken seriously, but it's just kind of like more
- 11:15Speaker 4: fun for them to swipe through the apps. But for me,
- 11:18Speaker 4: it's like what I'm actually dealing with. It's my reality,
- 11:20Speaker 4: and I feel like they don't even want to check
- 11:22Speaker 4: in on how I'm feeling about being single or anything
- 11:25Speaker 4: I don't even really want to share with them. It
- 11:27Speaker 4: makes me feel like I'm the odd one out.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And like, so's funny and just so funny because if
- 11:32Speaker 3: if you were the host of this show, I'd be
- 11:33Speaker 3: calling saying the same things about these things.
- 11:39Speaker 10: Through you don't even have a dating app for one.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Yeah, so what is it that you thought they were
- 11:46Speaker 3: doing is sort of like to help And then it
- 11:48Speaker 3: changed into a different tone.
- 11:50Speaker 4: What happened, Well, I think that it just it kind
- 11:53Speaker 4: of became too frequent, and it became like where they
- 11:57Speaker 4: were kind of messed with the people on my dating app.
- 12:00Speaker 3: That's messed up jokes, Yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 4: And like sliping through them and clearly making sure that
- 12:05Speaker 4: this person wouldn't match back with.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Me your friends.
- 12:09Speaker 10: It's just immature.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 4: I guess maybe they're bored because they're they're bored in
- 12:15Speaker 4: their healthy relationship, but it's not fun for me any longer.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Now. The other way you could look at it is
- 12:23Speaker 3: they're kind of bummed because they're stuck. You got But also.
- 12:28Speaker 7: You are the gatekeeper.
- 12:30Speaker 11: I know how this feels because I feel like when
- 12:32Speaker 11: I was single, everybody would always just want to like
- 12:34Speaker 11: go through my end dating app.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I didn't go through your dating app. Would you still
- 12:38Speaker 2: be talking the same tune right now?
- 12:39Speaker 7: No?
- 12:40Speaker 11: No, no, But I you you are the gatekeeper, So
- 12:43Speaker 11: like you can also just say if they say we
- 12:45Speaker 11: want to look through your date, you know, let's go
- 12:46Speaker 11: through your dating app. You can be like you know,
- 12:48Speaker 11: I don't really want to do that today, or like
- 12:50Speaker 11: you know, I'd rather not. You know, you don't have
- 12:52Speaker 11: to give it up just because you're single, and.
- 12:54Speaker 2: They're not going to your person grab phoney except that
- 12:57Speaker 2: boundary unless they're going to be helpful like me and
- 13:01Speaker 2: Sierra were for Tanya.
- 13:02Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean I enjoyed the meddling, but I could
- 13:05Speaker 11: see where it gets some knowing.
- 13:07Speaker 3: But also just to you know, relate Alison. There comes
- 13:11Speaker 3: a point where people almost look, I don't want to
- 13:15Speaker 3: say down, but they have a little judgy when it
- 13:18Speaker 3: comes to can I ask you why you're not married?
- 13:21Speaker 3: Can I ask you why you don't have kids? Especially
- 13:23Speaker 3: this happens to me all the time, and you do
- 13:25Speaker 3: feel a little defensive, a little left out, a little
- 13:28Speaker 3: bummed about it, And you know they're coming from that
- 13:31Speaker 3: place of like, oh, they have it all, so why
- 13:34Speaker 3: don't you have it all? And I understand that.
- 13:38Speaker 10: Your real friends shouldn't be asking you.
- 13:40Speaker 2: That your real friends should love you for who you are,
- 13:42Speaker 2: who you're dating, who you're not dating, like it doesn't matter, or.
- 13:44Speaker 11: They just want you to be happy and find someone
- 13:46Speaker 11: that's like your perfect match and encourage.
- 13:48Speaker 3: That, don't pretend to know what Alison and I are
- 13:51Speaker 3: dealing with.
- 13:52Speaker 11: Oh my god, I know exactly what Alison's dealing with because.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I lived it, okay, and then you found it's awful.
- 14:03Speaker 3: So I think have you expressed to them that you're
- 14:07Speaker 3: finding this a bit intrusive?
- 14:10Speaker 4: Not really, That's kind of why I'm calling, because I
- 14:12Speaker 4: was trying to figure out how to set the boundary
- 14:15Speaker 4: without making it awkward, or even if I should say
- 14:18Speaker 4: anything in the first place, or should I just like
- 14:19Speaker 4: keep laughing at all, you.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Know, be honest with yourself and with them. Okay, what's
- 14:26Speaker 2: the point of having a friendship if you can't even
- 14:27Speaker 2: be honest?
- 14:29Speaker 4: That's this is true?
- 14:31Speaker 3: And tell them to lay off a little bit, like
- 14:33Speaker 3: the pressure is not cool.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you know what.
- 14:38Speaker 6: I agree.
- 14:39Speaker 4: I agree.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Do you call my friends as well while you're after
- 14:41Speaker 3: you finish with yours?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. We'll set that boundary together.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Thank you Alison for calling. I appreciate you. Good luck.
- 14:49Speaker 3: It's a quote. A quote or seven o'clock gets you
- 14:53Speaker 3: in the right headspace, all right. So there you go.
- 14:57Speaker 3: You're having dinner at someone's house, maybe even spending the
- 15:01Speaker 3: night and you gotta go to the bathroom. The key
- 15:06Speaker 3: to being as stealthy as possible. Run cold water the
- 15:12Speaker 3: whole time.
- 15:14Speaker 7: Want to waste Why.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Walk in there, Turn on the water, run it cold.
- 15:19Speaker 3: It's gonna mask any sound that might happen. Can be
- 15:23Speaker 3: embarrassing because the toilet magnifies that sound. And make sure
- 15:27Speaker 3: it's cold, because hot produces steam and that traps the odor.
- 15:31Speaker 3: You you don't want that, No, I'll read for you
- 15:36Speaker 3: that I'm here today for that.
- 15:39Speaker 7: You know what.
- 15:40Speaker 2: One day I'm gonna need to use that, and I
- 15:43Speaker 2: will think about you.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Although we have those sinks where you gotta hold I
- 15:49Speaker 3: gotta lean over from the toilet and hold my hand
- 15:51Speaker 3: over the thing to get it to run for more
- 15:53Speaker 3: than four seconds.
- 15:54Speaker 7: Yeah, not enough.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I can't even wash my hands. Today's squall, Tanya Ciciny.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Even if it takes time, you're gonna get exactly where
- 16:06Speaker 3: you want to be in the meantime. Find joy in
- 16:10Speaker 3: the journey.
- 16:12Speaker 7: Find joy in the journey.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Find in the journey. About two point seven, it's kiss FM,
- 16:19Speaker 3: Los Angeles. So I have to say, you know, I'm
- 16:22Speaker 3: looking at some best ofs right now. I'm likek at
- 16:25Speaker 3: some best of siciny some best of Tanya. You guys
- 16:28Speaker 3: are you're glowing? You know, you're you're, you're you're What
- 16:33Speaker 3: does Kevin Hart saying that iPhone commercial? You got your
- 16:36Speaker 3: drip on?
- 16:36Speaker 7: Okay? Wow?
- 16:39Speaker 3: Kevin Art says, Kevin Art doesn't every commercial he's in.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I actually really like he's in a new iPhone commercial
- 16:46Speaker 3: and it's great. Actually laughed out loud.
- 16:48Speaker 10: I know exactly what you're talking.
- 16:50Speaker 3: He thinks, he thinks he's got the new iPhone, and
- 16:53Speaker 3: everywhere he goes in the quick commercial, people are like,
- 16:55Speaker 3: oh my gosh, look and he's like, I know, I'm
- 16:58Speaker 3: finer in person. I know, I know what's up.
- 17:01Speaker 11: It's me.
- 17:02Speaker 3: It turns out they're really looking at the iPhone, right,
- 17:04Speaker 3: because he had the orange one in the commercial. But
- 17:06Speaker 3: he's I think he says at the top, I'm dripping
- 17:08Speaker 3: in it or got my drip ones? Anyway, you two
- 17:11Speaker 3: have your drip on. And so a lot of people
- 17:15Speaker 3: may have asked you what are you doing? What's your
- 17:16Speaker 3: worker because I got asked that question, not that I
- 17:18Speaker 3: might drip on, but shows me what what's your workout?
- 17:21Speaker 3: And I said, underwater? It's my thing these days. Underwater,
- 17:24Speaker 3: underwater I'm doing underwater workout right the weights. So, uh,
- 17:29Speaker 3: Tania is working on a new and duces, have you
- 17:31Speaker 3: heard about this she's walking backwards?
- 17:33Speaker 4: I have.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I am told her that this prize is not the
- 17:35Speaker 2: safest thing for her to do, especially.
- 17:36Speaker 10: Because she loves like on the street that's like very slanted.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Are you doing this on a treadmill or outside on.
- 17:42Speaker 11: The I don't have a treadmill, so everything I do
- 17:45Speaker 11: is out in the wild. But I've gotten very into
- 17:49Speaker 11: walking over the last like six months, and even concept
- 17:52Speaker 11: well I know, but I feel like.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Walking is really of the moment, by.
- 17:56Speaker 3: The way, people don't walk in and walk since we've
- 17:59Speaker 3: been on this planet.
- 18:00Speaker 11: Okay, no, no, no, but I feel like walking your
- 18:04Speaker 11: ten thousand steps, I feel like now people are really
- 18:07Speaker 11: paying attention to it more.
- 18:08Speaker 3: You see, it's not ten thousand that was a whole market, seven.
- 18:11Speaker 7: Seven, whatever.
- 18:12Speaker 11: But now I've implemented walking backwards because it it kind
- 18:16Speaker 11: of hits different muscles and just kind of different parts
- 18:20Speaker 11: of your legs than when you walk forward. And also
- 18:24Speaker 11: think it helps with the coordination. But I look so
- 18:28Speaker 11: I probably look so wild to people as they're driving
- 18:31Speaker 11: by when I'm walking backwards up to my house.
- 18:35Speaker 3: So I see people do this at the gym. Yeah,
- 18:38Speaker 3: and I have to admit I've done it before myself.
- 18:40Speaker 3: And I think it's more than just you know, the
- 18:42Speaker 3: new muscles. It's really about the brain because you're having
- 18:46Speaker 3: to think a little bit more and focus. And I
- 18:48Speaker 3: think that you probably get more out of it because
- 18:49Speaker 3: you have to rewire your thought process a little bit
- 18:51Speaker 3: more with your movement and that is a good thing.
- 18:53Speaker 7: And when you.
- 18:54Speaker 11: Walk normal like you don't think about it. I could
- 18:56Speaker 11: be talking to somebody, I could be on my phone
- 18:58Speaker 11: and you're just walking. But to walk backwards like I
- 19:00Speaker 11: cannot be on my phone. I cannot. I need to focus.
- 19:03Speaker 10: Does your dog walk backwards?
- 19:05Speaker 11: So I've only brought Sunny once because she will not.
- 19:09Speaker 11: It's impossible. She goes forward, she won't go backwards with me.
- 19:13Speaker 3: So I don't know. You know, we have been walking
- 19:16Speaker 3: on two legs for seven million years. I don't know
- 19:18Speaker 3: how many people back then did it backwards. Maybe they did,
- 19:21Speaker 3: maybe they didn't, but it is a very I think
- 19:23Speaker 3: it is a good workout. I actually now walk forward
- 19:25Speaker 3: with a weight. Vest Have you seen these things? Yes?
- 19:28Speaker 3: I have, So I have a weight vest.
- 19:30Speaker 7: Now for my right, I'm going to get one.
- 19:32Speaker 10: Oh, if you get it, Ryan, she's.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Gonna get it. Well Rot so sooner her husband will
- 19:37Speaker 3: have one too.
- 19:39Speaker 11: Before you even said this, one of Robby's best friends
- 19:42Speaker 11: has been wearing a weighted vest and he does all
- 19:43Speaker 11: his like work, calls and just walks around and for
- 19:46Speaker 11: since he told us that, I was like, I want
- 19:47Speaker 11: to get it's amazing.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Just a few pounds on your body. How he can
- 19:51Speaker 3: like really increase it? Yeah? Right, yeah, So there you
- 19:55Speaker 3: have it. Any new any new programs for you?
- 19:58Speaker 10: No, just bear walking the dog.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Well that's good enough. Kiss FM. It's time for a
- 20:04Speaker 3: second date update. If you are dating, you're gonna want
- 20:08Speaker 3: to hear this. If you're not, you'll be so grateful
- 20:10Speaker 3: you're not dating. So so Joscelyn in Long Beach says,
- 20:17Speaker 3: we have known each other for a long time. He
- 20:19Speaker 3: asked me out a lot, and I always said no
- 20:21Speaker 3: because I thought he was a player. Is that a
- 20:24Speaker 3: turn off?
- 20:25Speaker 7: Yes?
- 20:25Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Sometimes some people might fight it hot.
- 20:30Speaker 3: It's true. Money clearly does not.
- 20:32Speaker 10: But back in the day I always went.
- 20:34Speaker 7: For the players.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Anyway. They work together, and he keeps asking and asking
- 20:38Speaker 3: They finally went out and it was a great first date.
- 20:42Speaker 3: And now he's avoiding her, so he chipped away for years.
- 20:47Speaker 3: They went out, and now he's kind of like not around.
- 20:51Speaker 10: Yeah, it's got a proved your point.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Hi is this Joscelyn.
- 20:56Speaker 8: Hi?
- 20:57Speaker 12: Yeah, it's Jocelyn.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Well Jocelyn. We are all here to help out second
- 21:01Speaker 3: date updates. So what made you say yes to this
- 21:05Speaker 3: guy after all these years of pursuing you for a date?
- 21:11Speaker 12: Yeah, you know, like we grew up in the same area.
- 21:13Speaker 12: We just knew each other well from being in the
- 21:16Speaker 12: same church youth group, and but enough, like he had
- 21:20Speaker 12: dated half the girls in that group, and I always
- 21:24Speaker 12: thought I would never say yes to him.
- 21:27Speaker 6: But we just kept crossing.
- 21:29Speaker 12: Baths over the years. I mean I would see him
- 21:32Speaker 12: at the mall or at Target or whatever. And then
- 21:35Speaker 12: we actually, at this point now work for the same company,
- 21:39Speaker 12: and uh, well technically he's an independent contractor, so we're
- 21:42Speaker 12: not really coworkers.
- 21:45Speaker 8: But I, you know, I just keep running into.
- 21:47Speaker 12: Him, and he's asked me out again and again, and
- 21:51Speaker 12: I thought, you know what, why not, I'm just going
- 21:53Speaker 12: to go for it. So I finally said yes.
- 21:56Speaker 3: So does it being like an independent contractor make it
- 22:00Speaker 3: less of an issue in terms of dating people you
- 22:03Speaker 3: work with. I think it might, right.
- 22:07Speaker 12: Yeah, definitely, Like he's kind of just in and out, yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 12: the office, so I don't see him that often.
- 22:14Speaker 3: So I don't know him, but I like his persistence.
- 22:17Speaker 3: So finally he gets you to say, okay, let's go.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Then you go on the date after all this time.
- 22:24Speaker 3: What went wrong?
- 22:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:28Speaker 12: I mean, we definitely had a good night kiss.
- 22:32Speaker 1: It was like a.
- 22:33Speaker 12: Dancing kiss with the music and the sun said that
- 22:36Speaker 12: was happening by the ocean, and it was great. I
- 22:39Speaker 12: thought the whole night was awesome.
- 22:42Speaker 3: And now he's avoiding you.
- 22:47Speaker 12: Yeah, like I said, hey, i'll see my network, and
- 22:51Speaker 12: I was thinking, you know that aside from that, we
- 22:55Speaker 12: would definitely be on another date. He pursued me for so.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Many years, so he's a player, which, by the way,
- 23:02Speaker 3: if he pursues and then he gets then maybe that's
- 23:08Speaker 3: the way the players operate, right, It's about the chase,
- 23:11Speaker 3: and right he got you. Now he's lazy complace it.
- 23:18Speaker 12: Yeah, I don't know, but he's definitely avoiding me.
- 23:23Speaker 6: So because he's just playing be do you so?
- 23:26Speaker 3: Sistney thinks players are is so attractive.
- 23:29Speaker 10: No, I don't attractive.
- 23:32Speaker 2: There is a swag to them that makes you that
- 23:36Speaker 2: is attractive sometimes and it almost is like a game
- 23:39Speaker 2: in your head, thinking like I will be the one
- 23:41Speaker 2: to change his behavior. I will be he's going to
- 23:45Speaker 2: not be a player because he's gonna date me, And
- 23:47Speaker 2: there's a kanya.
- 23:47Speaker 3: It totally disagrees. So what do you what's your view
- 23:50Speaker 3: on players?
- 23:54Speaker 12: I don't want to be played by one, so I'm
- 23:57Speaker 12: not really into.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Them, got it?
- 24:00Speaker 3: Okay, So we are going to call him next try
- 24:03Speaker 3: and find out what happened. Like to me, it's so
- 24:06Speaker 3: strange that you would be as persistent as possible to
- 24:10Speaker 3: get a date with you and then finally it's disrespectful
- 24:14Speaker 3: by the way, like finally you say yes and then
- 24:16Speaker 3: he vanishes. So let's find out what's going down. Hang
- 24:19Speaker 3: on one second, Okay, we'll come back and make that
- 24:23Speaker 3: call to him. The player one of two point seven KISSFM.
- 24:26Speaker 3: One of two point seven Kiss FM. We've got a
- 24:30Speaker 3: second date update. We're in the middle of that right now.
- 24:32Speaker 3: So let's bring up Joscelyn here who wrote in and said,
- 24:35Speaker 3: so this guy, he's a third party. They don't really
- 24:38Speaker 3: work for the same company. He's third party, but they
- 24:41Speaker 3: work together. This guy, his name is Ricky, been pursuing
- 24:45Speaker 3: her for a long time, right, years, Yes, he's been
- 24:49Speaker 3: trying everything. Finally she says, Okay, I'm gonna go out
- 24:52Speaker 3: with you. They go out, and then he blows her off. So, Joscelyn,
- 24:56Speaker 3: be very quiet. We're gonna talk to him on the air.
- 25:00Speaker 3: You'll listen. We're gonna try and find out what's up,
- 25:04Speaker 3: like why the pursuit for years and then the blow off?
- 25:08Speaker 9: Okay, Ricky, are you there, Yes, I'm here.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Hi, Ricky, Ryan Seacrest, Systaney, Tanya, you are on the air.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Welcome, Yeah, Hi, Hi, thank you guys.
- 25:21Speaker 3: So we happen to know about this woman named Jocelyn,
- 25:24Speaker 3: whom you I think pursued for quite a while.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Uh okay, yeah, yeah definitely.
- 25:32Speaker 3: And why did you pursue her for sof Like that's persistence,
- 25:35Speaker 3: Like you know, if she says not into it, not interested,
- 25:39Speaker 3: and then you kept going, what made you keep pursuing?
- 25:43Speaker 9: She's gorgeous, definitely the prettiest girl I've ever seen. Every
- 25:48Speaker 9: box that I'm looking for she checks off.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So yeah, she's gorgeous.
- 25:54Speaker 3: And tell me so Finally she said yes, after all this, right,
- 25:58Speaker 3: you guys went out?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah, we did go out.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Tell me about the day.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Wow, I mean it was. To be honest with its
- 26:10Speaker 1: probably the best night of my life.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Wow. Okay, and then now what so you have a
- 26:16Speaker 3: great date and then went out?
- 26:17Speaker 10: Yeah, are you dating?
- 26:22Speaker 9: I don't.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I don't think we're dating. No, I don't know. To
- 26:25Speaker 1: be honest, I really don't know.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Would you like to date her?
- 26:30Speaker 9: I mean yes, but I feel like she deserves someone
- 26:35Speaker 9: maybe a little bit better than me.
- 26:38Speaker 7: That's cute.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Well that's actually quite sweet.
- 26:42Speaker 10: Well why do you think that?
- 26:44Speaker 7: Yeah, it's probably right.
- 26:49Speaker 1: I would. I'm gonna be straight up with you, guys.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I'm broke.
- 26:53Speaker 9: So that's that's a bit a big problem for me,
- 26:57Speaker 9: because I feel like she deserves someone that can take
- 26:59Speaker 9: care of her fire, whatever she wants, And.
- 27:03Speaker 1: To me, that's that's that's not me right now.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Oh, but that's just so temporary. When I met my husband,
- 27:08Speaker 2: he was broke too.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I was broke when I moved to La Everyone's broke
- 27:13Speaker 3: some time, and no one went out with me.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I find that hard.
- 27:19Speaker 10: The connection is there? Money is money comes and goes.
- 27:24Speaker 3: About that. Then she's not maybe right. So you went out,
- 27:28Speaker 3: you liked her, you pursued her, she said yes, but
- 27:30Speaker 3: you backed off because you don't think you have funding
- 27:34Speaker 3: to date her.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I got I got a little intimidated to be.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I don't know. I just I don't think that I can.
- 27:40Speaker 9: I'm at that place where I can afford all that
- 27:43Speaker 9: type of lifestyle.
- 27:45Speaker 3: If you could, well life lifestime. What a first date?
- 27:48Speaker 3: Where would you take her on a first date? What
- 27:50Speaker 3: would you do?
- 27:52Speaker 9: I mean endless amounts of funds? I man, I'd love
- 27:57Speaker 9: to take her to a Charters game. I'd love to
- 28:01Speaker 9: take her out to a nice dinner maybe or launch,
- 28:04Speaker 9: depending on the time of day.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And yeah, I mean take.
- 28:08Speaker 9: Her shopping, just shower her and whatever she wants.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Okay, let me, do you mind if I just impose
- 28:18Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Okay, aren't we already?
- 28:22Speaker 4: Well?
- 28:22Speaker 3: No, I mean, because you know, dating well in my
- 28:26Speaker 3: real life doesn't go great. But in giving advice, I
- 28:30Speaker 3: think I'm okay at it. So what if I told
- 28:35Speaker 3: you that she wants to go out with you again,
- 28:40Speaker 3: and we will give you some Chargers tickets and then
- 28:44Speaker 3: we will send you to a place to eat that
- 28:48Speaker 3: is convenient to where you live or after the game
- 28:52Speaker 3: on us. Would that be appealing?
- 28:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be absolutely more than appealing. That that
- 28:58Speaker 1: sounds amazing.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Okay, could you bring back in Johnson?
- 29:03Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 29:03Speaker 10: I mean she's been here the whole time.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Jocelyn, are you there?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 29:08Speaker 12: Hi?
- 29:08Speaker 10: Guys, how do you feel.
- 29:10Speaker 7: About all this?
- 29:11Speaker 3: This is good news? I feel great.
- 29:15Speaker 12: Honestly, I don't care that you're broke. I really don't, Yeah, Reggie, like,
- 29:22Speaker 12: I mean, I promise you, I just I don't mind
- 29:28Speaker 12: at all. I don't think about that kind of thing.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I know you don't, but I do.
- 29:34Speaker 3: And bro bro broke. Forget about it, Ricky, you're putting
- 29:40Speaker 3: up walls. She doesn't care about the funding. I think
- 29:44Speaker 3: you guys should go out, get to know each other
- 29:48Speaker 3: and have a good time. I mean, where should we
- 29:51Speaker 3: see them for dinner?
- 29:52Speaker 4: Like?
- 29:53Speaker 3: Where do you live?
- 29:55Speaker 1: I live in near Korea Town right now?
- 29:57Speaker 3: Perfect, there's some great restaurants.
- 30:00Speaker 2: It's there, amazing, And I love your chargers. Man, this
- 30:03Speaker 2: looks like a match.
- 30:05Speaker 9: You guys are making me feel a lot better about
- 30:07Speaker 9: this than I have been feeling.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I just want to say thank.
- 30:09Speaker 3: You for that.
- 30:11Speaker 1: But yeah, I'd love to take you out again. Absolutely great.
- 30:16Speaker 3: The only issues I don't I have to find these
- 30:18Speaker 3: charge your tickets. We'll figure that okay, fine, a back room,
- 30:23Speaker 3: charge your tickets, Yeah, we'll figure it out. Okay, good,
- 30:27Speaker 3: thanks guys. I want to say it's very difficult to
- 30:31Speaker 3: meet someone in this town, and when you have a click,
- 30:34Speaker 3: you can't let these little things that are in your head,
- 30:37Speaker 3: your head, Ricky, not hers, your head stop you from
- 30:41Speaker 3: finding the one am. So we'll set you off the
- 30:45Speaker 3: first one and then it's on you. I mean, you
- 30:49Speaker 3: can call me back if you want something else, but
- 30:50Speaker 3: it's on you, and I like it. I'm going to
- 30:55Speaker 3: get out of this call because it all worked.
- 30:57Speaker 10: It really did.
- 31:00Speaker 9: Thank you guys so much. I can't thank you enough.
- 31:03Speaker 9: That's that's incredible, and especially the kind words. And I
- 31:06Speaker 9: think it's just I just have to be honest from
- 31:08Speaker 9: here on out and communicate exactly.
- 31:11Speaker 3: And Jocelyn's into you. Joscelyn, Ricky invite us to the wedding.
- 31:16Speaker 3: You know, I have my degree in officiating, So my degree,
- 31:20Speaker 3: it is a degree and what to school.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Okay, We're gonna let you guys go, Joly if you
- 31:23Speaker 2: have a great life.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Good luck bye. By the way, it is a degree
- 31:28Speaker 3: in officiation.
- 31:29Speaker 7: It's not a degree, it's just certificate.
- 31:31Speaker 10: It's like a website. You click, click, and then you're ordained.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Okay, I'm not a great student. It felt like a degree. Okay, fine,
- 31:39Speaker 3: that's the way she work though. I love that communication.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Yea, love me not kiss up there with Lions Crest.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Why don't two point seven kiss FM? Good morning, Elijah?
- 31:54Speaker 3: How are you?
- 31:56Speaker 1: Good morning?
- 31:57Speaker 5: How you doing?
- 31:58Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 31:59Speaker 1: Buddy?
- 31:59Speaker 3: Can I help you?
- 32:01Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:01Speaker 13: So my girlfriend made a vision board and it's kind
- 32:07Speaker 13: of freaking me out.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I'd run fast, excuse and why wait a minute?
- 32:14Speaker 13: So well, look, I don't even think I was supposed
- 32:17Speaker 13: to see it in the first place. She and her
- 32:19Speaker 13: friends got together and did it right after the New Year.
- 32:22Speaker 13: But I was looking for a post it in a
- 32:24Speaker 13: drawer and I found it and it had like a
- 32:29Speaker 13: bride and there was like this enormous diamond engagement range, all.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Normal things that women usually put on their vision boards.
- 32:37Speaker 13: Right, like an expensive car and these island vacations.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Like yeah, I mean the vision board is aspirational too, right,
- 32:45Speaker 3: It's supposed to be just that, you know, maybe beyond
- 32:48Speaker 3: what your goals are. But it's a nice thing to
- 32:50Speaker 3: aspire to be. What's the issue?
- 32:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you don't.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Want to get married? Is that the deal?
- 32:56Speaker 1: Here's the thing, here's the thing.
- 32:58Speaker 13: I get all that we've only been dating for only
- 33:01Speaker 13: five months.
- 33:02Speaker 11: Well, bro, just because she has this vision board doesn't
- 33:05Speaker 11: mean it's you.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Know, it's a vision board for this year.
- 33:13Speaker 13: And I'm not that rich or anything like, I don't
- 33:16Speaker 13: make that much money.
- 33:18Speaker 3: But what were you? I guess what we're hearing you
- 33:20Speaker 3: say is that you're feeling some pressure because of her
- 33:24Speaker 3: vision board, and that pressure has to do with the
- 33:27Speaker 3: future of your commitment to and with her. Yeah, is
- 33:30Speaker 3: that what I'm hearing that?
- 33:31Speaker 13: And the finances?
- 33:33Speaker 5: I mean, look, am I line of work.
- 33:34Speaker 13: I'm telling to be an EMC people like me don't
- 33:36Speaker 13: usually get rich.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Maybe you should make a vision board and then you'll
- 33:39Speaker 2: be rich, you know what I mean?
- 33:44Speaker 4: Right?
- 33:45Speaker 5: No?
- 33:45Speaker 11: But I think also to like, maybe that's worth a
- 33:48Speaker 11: discussion that you can have with her, because if you know,
- 33:50Speaker 11: if she has like these fancy cars and these fancy vacations,
- 33:53Speaker 11: maybe there.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Is important to her, right right, Maybe that's a good
- 33:57Speaker 3: jumping off point to have a real conversation Elijah about
- 34:01Speaker 3: who you guys are.
- 34:02Speaker 10: It's a great idea, Tonya, and it might not be
- 34:03Speaker 10: that big of a deal.
- 34:04Speaker 2: She might be like, oh, this is just the stuff
- 34:06Speaker 2: that I just cut out of magazine, like it's vacation.
- 34:08Speaker 3: It's just like I mean, it's like the screensaver on
- 34:11Speaker 3: your phone, exactly, like you're going to live on that beach,
- 34:13Speaker 3: but you like to look at it exactly. I use
- 34:15Speaker 3: this as a point to talk about what you're really
- 34:18Speaker 3: thinking and feeling here in your relationship, and you'll get
- 34:20Speaker 3: to know each other better. Great idea, and thank you
- 34:23Speaker 3: for listening.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Very good point.
- 34:24Speaker 13: So I shouldn't be freaked out at all.
- 34:26Speaker 10: I think you should.
- 34:27Speaker 7: It's beautiful that she wants to to marry you.
- 34:29Speaker 3: It's a healthy exercise to to do a vision board.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Tanya does it here all the time in life.
- 34:33Speaker 11: I used to put rings and brides since twenty fifteen
- 34:36Speaker 11: on my vision board.
- 34:37Speaker 3: And yeah, it took a little while, but she got there.
- 34:39Speaker 7: I got there.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Thank you, and good luck with the mt BRO. Thanks
- 34:43Speaker 3: for saving lives.
- 34:45Speaker 13: Well absolutely yeah, and thank you guys for hearing me
- 34:48Speaker 13: out and giving me some advice I needed to.
- 34:50Speaker 10: Hear that got call anytime.
- 34:52Speaker 3: It is interesting that like, okay, where he thought her
- 34:56Speaker 3: putting those things up is just bad news. Actually it's
- 34:58Speaker 3: great news because he can now have a convers station
- 35:00Speaker 3: about who they really are, like who he is, or
- 35:02Speaker 3: who he's looking for, or what in what she really
- 35:05Speaker 3: wants or means by all that.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yes, and maybe it's just like she wants it. Eventually
- 35:09Speaker 2: she just doesn't. You know, it doesn't need to happen
- 35:11Speaker 2: this year.
- 35:12Speaker 11: But I've probably scared off so many men because I
- 35:15Speaker 11: would keep my vision board in like on my bathroom window,
- 35:18Speaker 11: or I'd keep it in the kitchen so I saw
- 35:20Speaker 11: it every morning I was making my coffee.
- 35:22Speaker 10: So when they'd come over to your house, it would
- 35:23Speaker 10: just be out yep.
- 35:25Speaker 11: With bridle rings and bridled and uh song lyrics.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Years ago, we could have helped just move the vision
- 35:33Speaker 3: board and this would have happens one a two point
- 35:35Speaker 3: seven Kiss FM. Now let me explain this to you
- 35:38Speaker 3: before I put Devin on. Last week, we were talking
- 35:40Speaker 3: about a couple who posted a sign at their wedding
- 35:43Speaker 3: and the sign said, pay to play one of the
- 35:46Speaker 3: following songs you'd like to hear. And there's a list
- 35:48Speaker 3: of these songs like, Uh, Don't Stop Believing by Journey
- 35:51Speaker 3: was up there. Some Garth Brooks was up there. Uh,
- 35:55Speaker 3: some Queen was up there, some classic sings, songs. There's
- 35:58Speaker 3: a menu and ps the songs that were listed. The
- 36:02Speaker 3: couple does not really like proceeds We're gonna go to
- 36:05Speaker 3: their honeymoon fund, so think about that concept. These are
- 36:07Speaker 3: songs that we think you like, we don't really love,
- 36:09Speaker 3: but you're gonna pay for a honeymoon, so hey, we'll
- 36:12Speaker 3: give up the time. People were divided, and then Devin
- 36:16Speaker 3: heard that he's a wedding DJ from Huntington Beach. He says,
- 36:21Speaker 3: never let your guests choose the songs. Devin, thanks for
- 36:23Speaker 3: coming on with us. Now why do you say never? Surely, well,
- 36:27Speaker 3: he definitely sounds like one, So Devin tell me why
- 36:31Speaker 3: is it that the guest should never choose the songs?
- 36:34Speaker 5: A lot of times the bride is worked really hard
- 36:36Speaker 5: on a list that we love because it opens up
- 36:40Speaker 5: floodgates into what it is that they like and what's
- 36:43Speaker 5: going to motivate them to get on the dance floor,
- 36:45Speaker 5: and then to incorporate some of the bride'smaids and some
- 36:48Speaker 5: of the guests requests. But if you had fifty people
- 36:52Speaker 5: doing a pay to play, they ultimately become your DJ.
- 36:58Speaker 5: And the biggest part of our job is to look
- 37:00Speaker 5: at it like a video game and we're shooting for
- 37:02Speaker 5: a high score, and we're looking at Grandma, and we're
- 37:05Speaker 5: looking at the bride's maids and the bride and wanting
- 37:08Speaker 5: to get them to dance.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Yeahs, I like what you're saying because you're trying to
- 37:14Speaker 3: You're aiming to please, right, and you're reading the room
- 37:17Speaker 3: and you're reacting off of the read of the room,
- 37:19Speaker 3: and when you see some reaction, you build on that reaction.
- 37:22Speaker 3: I mean, you're a purist and I love that about you.
- 37:24Speaker 3: You've got to really you got to throw something out there,
- 37:27Speaker 3: read your response, and then try and build on that,
- 37:29Speaker 3: and that that fluidity is what it's all about.
- 37:33Speaker 5: So you explained it perfect because you know, I mean,
- 37:36Speaker 5: there was a thing once upon a time where they
- 37:38Speaker 5: had every gaps on an invitation to put one song request.
- 37:41Speaker 5: But you're already setting up half of the room to
- 37:44Speaker 5: not even hear their request. And my priority is that journey.
- 37:48Speaker 5: I mean, here's one thing like even your ladies written,
- 37:51Speaker 5: you know, there now we'll say yes to this.
- 37:53Speaker 1: How many times have you.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Ever been at a party, been in a wedding, been
- 37:55Speaker 5: an event, Here a great song, you start dancing and
- 37:58Speaker 5: the next song sucks.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody clearly answer. But for you DJ, that's sad,
- 38:04Speaker 3: like I feel bad for the DJ might go back out.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Yeah, even if it was you, mom, dad, grandma and grandpa.
- 38:11Speaker 5: I'm looking even at the table in the musical at tourney,
- 38:14Speaker 5: I'm looking from them to bother.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Their heads, tap their feet, tap their.
- 38:18Speaker 5: Finger and totally p And if it's one song, I mean,
- 38:21Speaker 5: if it's a Michael Jackson that got Grandma even coming
- 38:24Speaker 5: out to dance, and my next song's not Jerry Lee Lewis,
- 38:27Speaker 5: you know it's got to be two three of one
- 38:29Speaker 5: type two three of another.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I appreciate you sending some light on this because you're
- 38:32Speaker 3: in the trenches on this and that is Devin. Thank
- 38:34Speaker 3: you very much for being on with this. Devin, take
- 38:36Speaker 3: good care.
- 38:37Speaker 2: He's not wrong, no, and the video game analogy really
- 38:40Speaker 2: makes sense.
- 38:40Speaker 3: One or two point seven Kiss FM. Jasmine Sandimus, Good morning,
- 38:46Speaker 3: How are you?
- 38:47Speaker 14: Good morning?
- 38:49Speaker 3: How can I help you?
- 38:50Speaker 14: Well, Okay, I have a little bit of an issue
- 38:54Speaker 14: my brother is getting married and you're next summer, and
- 38:58Speaker 14: you know, I really want to be there, and my
- 39:02Speaker 14: husband and I were actually going to have a four
- 39:04Speaker 14: month old baby by then, so we have like this
- 39:07Speaker 14: plan that we've worked out well where he'll stay at
- 39:09Speaker 14: home with the baby while I go to the wedding.
- 39:12Speaker 14: But we have an older child's with four and my
- 39:16Speaker 14: brother wants him to be the ring bearer, which I'm
- 39:19Speaker 14: ecstatic about and I think is really special, but my
- 39:22Speaker 14: husband doesn't feel comfortable with our son going to Europe
- 39:24Speaker 14: without them.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 39:28Speaker 14: So I'm just like literally stuck because I think it's
- 39:31Speaker 14: like unfair. You know, I don't want to be unfair
- 39:34Speaker 14: to my brother, who you know, really wants his nephew
- 39:36Speaker 14: be potter of the big moment. But at the same time,
- 39:39Speaker 14: you know, I understand my husband's concerns, and I just
- 39:43Speaker 14: don't know how to like balance being there for my
- 39:45Speaker 14: family but like respecting my husband's wishes.
- 39:49Speaker 3: I don't know. If I don't know what to do.
- 39:50Speaker 3: You all have to go. Yeah, kids, weddings, This is
- 39:55Speaker 3: not my Bailey Wick, So siy, why can't you Anyway.
- 39:59Speaker 14: He works from home and needs to stay home with
- 40:01Speaker 14: the baby, but bring the baby.
- 40:02Speaker 2: You know, four months old is like the easiest time
- 40:05Speaker 2: to travel with the baby that age.
- 40:08Speaker 14: Yeah, we're just not comfortable with like traveling with Europe.
- 40:13Speaker 6: It's going to be so far, it's a lot happening.
- 40:15Speaker 14: Plus, I don't want, like to leave the baby with
- 40:18Speaker 14: a babysitter like that age.
- 40:20Speaker 3: You know, I've just discovered an easy out. Oh, I mean,
- 40:24Speaker 3: this is all about the baby. This is all about
- 40:26Speaker 3: the baby's safety, well being and health. And there's as
- 40:30Speaker 3: badly as you want to make everybody happy, there's only
- 40:33Speaker 3: one lens you look through, and that is through the
- 40:35Speaker 3: eyes of the baby. And then you're you're gonna total out.
- 40:39Speaker 3: No one can No one can tellya you don't know.
- 40:41Speaker 7: Yeah, first of all, you're the mom.
- 40:43Speaker 11: If you want to take your four year old son
- 40:44Speaker 11: to your brother's wedding, you should be able to do that.
- 40:47Speaker 2: You should And I think your husband needs Are you
- 40:51Speaker 2: saying you're totally comfortable with it, jsmine?
- 40:54Speaker 14: Well, if I'm comfortable.
- 40:56Speaker 3: With breeding, yeah, yeah.
- 40:58Speaker 14: Absolutely my four year old, Yeah, I want him to
- 41:00Speaker 14: be the ring bearer.
- 41:02Speaker 6: But like you know, I don't want to.
- 41:04Speaker 14: I understand that my husband doesn't want you know me
- 41:08Speaker 14: there with him and without him being there.
- 41:11Speaker 10: Not to make this more of a fight.
- 41:13Speaker 2: But you can come at your husband, well, you can
- 41:16Speaker 2: come out your husband like do you not trust me?
- 41:18Speaker 10: Is this a trust issue? Like I am his mom?
- 41:22Speaker 3: Like you're now, you're now, you're pivoting it to be
- 41:25Speaker 3: this is not about the baby. This is about you
- 41:28Speaker 3: not trusting me, this relationship. We don't think I can
- 41:30Speaker 3: handle this, then we got a bigger problem. That's nice,
- 41:33Speaker 3: I mean love it. Change the headline. Okay, so good,
- 41:40Speaker 3: so manipulative and goodtivetive.
- 41:45Speaker 2: It's giving, manipulative, it's giving, like my feelings are hurt.
- 41:51Speaker 3: This solves the problem, Jasmine, she knows what she's talking about.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I can't wait to hear how it goes. Calls back.
- 41:57Speaker 3: We're here.
- 41:57Speaker 2: I mean, can you imagine Michael said I could and
- 42:00Speaker 2: bring my kids and were like, yeah, it's so weird.
- 42:03Speaker 3: It's great. It's really a good solution. You got this, Jasmine,
- 42:06Speaker 3: Thank you so much, good luck. I can't wait for
- 42:07Speaker 3: you to go do this. He calls back after it happens.
- 42:10Speaker 14: Okay, I sure, well, thank you so much.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Yes, no, you know how you operate.
- 42:15Speaker 10: That's why I gonna call us NAX and be like,
- 42:18Speaker 10: what did you.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Tell my wife? It was called on air with one
- 42:22Speaker 3: of two point seven Kiss FM. Have a great weekend. Monday,
