Speaker 1: now for the Locker Room Report, starts with our interview
• 0:05
Speaker 1: with head coach Jim Moore, brought to you by the
• 0:06
Speaker 1: Connecticut Chevy Dealers Chevy Drives America, is it Ctchevy dot
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Com for a dealer near you, and the u con

Speaker 1: Locker Room with coach More. Here's Adam Jerdy.
• 0:16
Speaker 2: Thank you, Bob, Coach. The scoreboard is what it is.
• 0:18
Speaker 2: I'm sure you'll grate it differently than what the scoreboard said.
• 0:21
Speaker 2: So what's the initial thoughts from you coming out of
• 0:23
  Speaker 2: this one?
• 0:24
Speaker 3: Well, I didn't like the way we started the game.
• 0:26
Speaker 3: I mean everyone saw, you know, the penalties, the snap,
• 0:32
Speaker 3: the miscues that held us back. But I like the
• 0:34
Speaker 3: way they responded after that first five or six minutes,
• 0:36
Speaker 3: you know, and got back on track and nobody lost
• 0:38
Speaker 3: their cool. Everyone stayed composed, folcused on doing their job.
• 0:44
Speaker 3: I think our defense was a little better in the
• 0:46
Speaker 3: second half. We have a lot of work to do, obviously,
• 0:48
Speaker 3: it felt like in the first half they were just
• 0:50
Speaker 3: a little bit on their heels and maybe a little
• 0:51
Speaker 3: bit uncertain. You know, we've mentioned a lot of guys
• 0:54
Speaker 3: playing together for the first time, but that cannot be
• 0:56
Speaker 3: an excuse that we use. So we'll get better there.
• 1:00
Speaker 3: I think we have some playmakers on offense, but you know,
• 1:04
Speaker 3: there's just a lot of things we have to clean up,
• 1:05
Speaker 3: and we will. These guys will make a commitment to
• 1:08
Speaker 3: working hard. And we've got a huge game this week.
• 1:11
Speaker 3: You know, we've got to go back to Syracuse for
• 1:13
Speaker 3: the second year in a row and play at their place.
• 1:15
Speaker 3: And it's a really good football team coached by coach Brown,
• 1:18
Speaker 3: and we have a lot of respect for him. So
• 1:20
Speaker 3: you know, we's gotta we got We've got to get
• 1:22
Speaker 3: ourselves ready for that one.
• 1:23
Speaker 2: You had talked about wanting explosive plays, and I think
• 1:26
Speaker 2: anybody that watched this game would have seen a bunch
• 1:28
Speaker 2: of explosive plays. So where do you think that came from?
• 1:32
Speaker 2: From a guy like Cam Edwards, Mel Brown, Skyler Bell
• 1:35
Speaker 2: being able to come out in their second years here
• 1:37
Speaker 2: and just make it all happen.
• 1:38
Speaker 3: Well, they did it last year. You know, we saw
• 1:40
Speaker 3: big plays from those guys. I want to see the
• 1:43
Speaker 3: big plays from the guys we added, you know, the
• 1:46
Speaker 3: ty Bowmans and the Ray Mellows and Chris Parker and
• 1:51
Speaker 3: Juice Marien, and we saw hints of that today. I think,
• 1:54
Speaker 3: you know, there were some things that that looked like
• 1:56
Speaker 3: they could have been explosive plays, and we've just been
• 1:58
Speaker 3: a little bit more precise in the way we executed.
• 2:01
Speaker 3: So I'm encouraged by that. You know, I think we've
• 2:03
Speaker 3: got guys that can make plays, and I think Joe
• 2:05
Speaker 3: can get him the ball and we can make big
• 2:08
Speaker 3: plays in the run game if there's a hole, you know,
• 2:10
Speaker 3: and we didn't start out running all great, but our
• 2:12
Speaker 3: mo is to stick with it and you know, keep
• 2:14
Speaker 3: pounding at it and it works out for us.
• 2:17
Speaker 2: And obviously the big playmaker coming back Skyler Bell specifically
• 2:21
Speaker 2: that first half, I mean only got to see the
• 2:23
Speaker 2: first thirty minutes of him, but what did he show
• 2:26
Speaker 2: you specifically that is going to make him even better
• 2:29
  Speaker 2: this year.
• 2:29
Speaker 3: I think the play that stands out to me the
• 2:31
Speaker 3: most is the over the shoulder catch on third down
• 2:33
Speaker 3: down the sideline. You know, he had the two touchdowns,
• 2:35
Speaker 3: the one he was wide open, the one he had
• 2:36
Speaker 3: out run people, which you know, you saw his speeds
• 2:39
Speaker 3: and loosiveness, but just his ability to track that ball
• 2:41
Speaker 3: and catch it over his shoulder. To me, was beautiful
• 2:43
Speaker 3: that led to score. So if you look at Sky,
• 2:47
Speaker 3: you can tell that he's really worked hard this offseason
• 2:49
Speaker 3: and he's built differently. His arms are big, he looks solid.
• 2:52
Speaker 3: He's playing with a lot of confidence. Joe has tremendous
• 2:55
Speaker 3: confidence in him. Their chemistry is really good, and so
• 2:58
Speaker 3: it's always nice to have a guy like Skar on
• 3:00
  Speaker 3: your team.
• 3:00
Speaker 2: Coach, thanks so much, good luck next week.
