Transcript
- 0:34None. All right, what's up everybody?
- 0:50It's Kefi, regular evening Kefi here from ghostcultmag.com.
- 0:56And we are going to talk about Ozzy Osbourne's funeral today
- 1:00and the massive procession that took place in his hometown of
- 1:05Birmingham, England. Thanks for being here.
- 1:08We have been doing a lot of Ozzy and Black Sabbath content across
- 1:12all our channels and all our related things.
- 1:15So thank you for being here. I know it's overwhelming.
- 1:19It's overwhelmingly sad. And you know, if this ain't for
- 1:24you, I understand. But this is just my way of
- 1:29processing grief is to just keep talking about it and remembering
- 1:33the great man that he was. And it was really something to
- 1:37see. I have to say, I don't think
- 1:38we've had anything like this in metal really since Lemmy died.
- 1:43Bowie for rock, of course, Prince George Michael huge
- 1:48public outpourings of sadness and grieving publicly, not just
- 1:53as a fan base, but the whole world really across you know,
- 1:58lousy really transcended across culture, across music culture,
- 2:03across metal culture, across pop culture.
- 2:06So we're going to talk a lot about that ghost cult.
- 2:10We for those that don't know if this your first time here, we're
- 2:14from ghostcultmag.com 24/7 365 rock and metal news interviews
- 2:19with bands, concerts and metal festivals around the world.
- 2:21That's what we do and we have because we started in Europe as
- 2:26a Zena sizable European staff. Still to this day, some of our
- 2:30senior editors are there. Some of our longest serving
- 2:34members are there and so our own Gary Alcock, who is from the UK,
- 2:42Connor is here. RIP Ozzy, the Prince of
- 2:45Darkness. Of course, of course, my man.
- 2:50Feel free to drop some comments, show some love for Ozzy.
- 2:53Drop your favorite Ozzy moment or Black Sabbath song or Ozzy
- 2:57solo song or moment. And so Gary lives in the UK,
- 3:03goes to a lot of shows in Birmingham, was at the back to
- 3:06the beginning just a few weeks ago, wrote a very heart
- 3:10wrenching tribute to Ozzy and his life experience, being a fan
- 3:14of Ozzy and Sabbath his whole life, basically.
- 3:17And he was there today in the UK and he posted some photos and
- 3:23he's kind enough to share them with me and with us to use.
- 3:26We made a post about it and I'm going to share with you some of
- 3:30those photos as well as some videos.
- 3:34You know, again, it's really hitting me.
- 3:37I haven't seen really a public funeral like this since the Big
- 3:40E funeral in New York City, which was kind of a funeral that
- 3:45was reserved type of funeral was reserved for like heads of state
- 3:50and things. And, you know, it's just so
- 3:56heavy. It's so heavy.
- 3:58Again, we knew he wasn't well. We knew he might pass at any
- 4:01time. The show was so triumphant and
- 4:04really above expectations. And then he slipped away a few
- 4:08weeks later, and we're still not right.
- 4:10It's not OK. It's still not OK.
- 4:12It was never going to be OK for me.
- 4:15Recently, just like a month ago, I had done like the worst deaths
- 4:18ever in rocket metal, not realizing that Ozzy would pass
- 4:22away soon after I let me and Dimebag Darrell from Pantera
- 4:27among my top ones. There's a bunch of others and
- 4:31Chris Squire of yes, Cliff Burton, John Bonham, just so
- 4:38many, so many tough ones for me personally.
- 4:42And we ran through a whole list of them, a whole list of them
- 4:45for everybody to share and see. So, you know, it really is,
- 4:51it's, it's, it's quite a thing to see this stuff that happened
- 4:54today. There was 10s of thousands.
- 4:58Birmingham is, is a suburb of, you know, it's in the suburbs in
- 5:01the Midlands, as they say in the UK.
- 5:03And it's a suburb and you know, it was a, an industrial town.
- 5:08It was a blue collar town and probably still is in a lot of
- 5:11ways, even though it's a little more modern than it used to be.
- 5:14And it seemed like the whole town ground to halt and the
- 5:18entire town was like a museum for Ozzy.
- 5:21It's tribute to Black Sabbath just obviously the last few
- 5:23weeks with this event, but also just this, even just the things
- 5:27they did in the last few days. And so pretty unbelievable.
- 5:32And then globally, every major news network covered this thing.
- 5:36There were, you know, the Black Sabbath bench.com, which is the
- 5:40Black Sabbath bench people, which has sort of now unified as
- 5:43a mourning place for Black Sabbath.
- 5:46And, you know, for Ozzy and Black Sabbath pay tribute to
- 5:49them was really one of the most central places of of the
- 5:54procession. And, you know, Ozzy's family
- 6:02stopped there to place flowers and, and, and have a moment with
- 6:07the crowd and, and thank the fans and, you know, just heart
- 6:12wrenching stuff. Just really whatever.
- 6:14You know, I have been very vocal about some of my displeasure
- 6:18with Sharon Osbourne's antics in the past.
- 6:21But, you know, you just have to feel for a person.
- 6:23She was with the guy for 43 years.
- 6:25They were married, she was with him, you know, resurrected his
- 6:28career and and put him on the map and really, you know, made
- 6:34his life better for better or, you know, whatever you want to
- 6:36say. I had dinner last week with a
- 6:40close friend of mine who was in town visiting for the Air Guitar
- 6:44Nationals for USA. And she brought up a very good
- 6:48point, which is if Sharon was a man, maybe she wouldn't get this
- 6:51much criticism, which is completely possible because, you
- 6:55know, people like her dad, Don Arden and Peter Grant and Rod
- 6:59Smallwood and Q Prime, who manages Metallica and a bunch of
- 7:03other bands and Rick Sales group that manages Slayer and Mastodon
- 7:06and Gojira and Ghost. Nobody criticizes them for being
- 7:11ruthless and and rough, you know, So that's just a hard one.
- 7:16And like I said, I'm going to share this stuff.
- 7:18I made a little deck as I am want to do.
- 7:21This is one of those photos here was on the cover and I will
- 7:25eventually in begin this deck and share the larger photos with
- 7:30you all. So, yeah, I mean, again, just
- 7:32the suddenness of his death and and the spectacle, you know,
- 7:36that has been basically in a positive way made over his
- 7:40passing. I think is, you know, it's a
- 7:42thing to look, you know, the lift us up a little bit in this
- 7:46very tough grim times already. Everybody's regular life is hard
- 7:50enough. As I often say, it's hard.
- 7:51You know, it's hard enough just to get through life.
- 7:55And now we had this big just major loss.
- 8:00But it's nice to see it celebrated communally like this
- 8:05again. I can't really recall the last
- 8:06time something like this happened.
- 8:08Princess Diana, JFK Junior, you know, Anyway, and again, we have
- 8:16been extensively covering back to the beginning.
- 8:19We did a view on our site with all the set lists and all the
- 8:23supergroup listings and everything.
- 8:25We did a big roundtable review. Both of my podcasts had a review
- 8:30of the thing. We sort of a experts breakdown,
- 8:35the concert event. And, you know, obviously since
- 8:39Ozzy died, there's been a bunch of things from our various, our
- 8:42various, you know, activities or different podcasts and articles
- 8:46on the site and all these things.
- 8:47And so many artists have paid tribute to him.
- 8:50I think even today Céline Dion came out and said something
- 8:53about Ozzy being kind of amazing and how sad it is she's had her,
- 8:58you know, her own health and all.
- 8:59She's not really a rock or a metal person, but interesting
- 9:01nonetheless that she, you know, said all these things.
- 9:05Hey, I rate base. What's up, man?
- 9:07I'm still in morning St. It's just, it's just so hard.
- 9:09It's hitting me so hard. And, and like this is on top of
- 9:13just, it's hard to be me. I'm not alone in this.
- 9:16Everybody's having a tough time right now.
- 9:17I've been having my own share of struggles, some private, some
- 9:20very public talk often about my mental health and my physical
- 9:24health issues. There's a lot of stuff going on
- 9:27right now. So just to have him pass so soon
- 9:30after this triumphant thing, but he was very frail.
- 9:34So again, there's a lot of our coverage here on the site.
- 9:37And I did want to point out this thing really quick.
- 9:40So I'm I'm big in this for a second.
- 9:43And this is a screen grab from from one of the videos of the
- 9:50streaming of the procession. And so so there was sort of a
- 9:55basically a hearse with with flower arrangement and a big
- 10:00purple flower cross on the roof that, you know, was to symbolize
- 10:04Ozzy. I think they actually had a
- 10:05private service 1st and then they did the procession.
- 10:10I'm not exactly sure of that order.
- 10:13Hey, thanks. Get rid of fascists.
- 10:14We greatly appreciate you and your support and I will follow
- 10:17you back after the stream is over.
- 10:19I'll follow everybody back that follows us.
- 10:22And what you're seeing here in this photo is except for you all
- 10:27on TikTok, I'm sorry, but Sharon Kelly, Sharon Jack, Ozzy's
- 10:36oldest child, Louis and Amy is on the other end of this.
- 10:39And so basically, they were holding her up while she was
- 10:42just weeping over this arrangement, this outpouring of
- 10:46flowers and merchandise and notes to Ozzy and letters,
- 10:51figures and a statue and all these things, all this
- 10:55outpouring of love, you know, pretty amazing.
- 11:00The entire town basically turned out for this.
- 11:02And then again, hundreds of thousands, maybe of millions of
- 11:06people will have watched this by the end of today on social
- 11:09media, which is just wild to me. And then Sharon and Amy put up
- 11:16the peace sign, which you know, was Ozzy's sort of, you know,
- 11:21was his iconography. I know Dio talked a lot about
- 11:24the devil horns, which he did not admit he didn't invent it.
- 11:28First of all, I know Gene Simmons things.
- 11:30I'm Gene Simmons and I invented the devil horns and shoes and
- 11:33error and public transportation. But Sharon and Amy putting up
- 11:38the peace on is like an absolute nod to Ozzie and Kelly wore, I
- 11:43don't know if they were Ozzie's exact glasses, but she wore like
- 11:46the purple tinted John Lennon glasses that Ozzy made famous,
- 11:50especially since the no more tears era.
- 11:53And you know, very classy. And Sharon just absolutely grief
- 11:57stricken here. And then just probably at Fox
- 12:01News had this. I hate, but whatever.
- 12:05Just a little word, you know, we're not corporate backed.
- 12:08I said some somebody DM me today asking me to check out their
- 12:11music. And I was like, you know, I
- 12:13don't really do click bait stuff and I don't bullshit people.
- 12:16And we try to ride with a lot of integrity.
- 12:19Most of us came from the writing world.
- 12:21I came from a journalism background.
- 12:22I went to journalism school for broadcasting and print
- 12:25journalism. And I take this very seriously.
- 12:27A lot of people you can watch now on social media and YouTube
- 12:31and things don't have any journalistic ethics or
- 12:34integrity. They just kind of like click
- 12:35bait bullshit and a lot of fake AI things I saw all over today
- 12:40met Metallica members Dave Mustaine and and James Hetfield
- 12:44and Elton John made a song for Ozzy.
- 12:46It's just such crap, just absolute crap.
- 12:49But if you want to support us, that's cool.
- 12:52Normally I I ask for tips during my main show, which will be
- 12:55tomorrow. So a little bit of programming
- 12:57notes if you want to give us a tip, that's cool.
- 13:01Yeah man. I mean, AI is useful, but like
- 13:03all this over reliance and over hype on it, it's just garbage.
- 13:07Irate based and we'll be talking about AI in a future live
- 13:11stream. I did ask for a poll on our on
- 13:14YouTube. Thanks man.
- 13:16I rate base that means everything.
- 13:17Thank you for supporting us and we'll support you back.
- 13:21So for a programming note, this isn't the official card because
- 13:23I haven't made it yet, but we'll be back tomorrow.
- 13:26A little earlier than tonight, but tomorrow afternoon, usually
- 13:30Thursday in the 5:00 hour, 4 to 5 hour Pacific Time.
- 13:36I have a doctor's appointment that might interfere with the
- 13:37schedule, but I will go live tomorrow with my weekly show,
- 13:41which is our regular breakdown. All the news of the week,
- 13:44interviews and features we've done, concerts and festival
- 13:47announcements, new music coming out, something cool from my mail
- 13:51bag. I got a few things this week in
- 13:52the mail to share. And so please join our show.
- 13:56If you like what you see, subscribe.
- 13:58You have so many choices to get your music information from and
- 14:01your music news. And if you don't like us also
- 14:04let me know, drop a comment and tell what you don't like about
- 14:06us. I get hate comments all the time
- 14:08and I try not to let them affect me, but they kind of do a
- 14:10little. And then just a reminder, also
- 14:14this week, my other podcast, the Glacially Musical podcast, we
- 14:18were already planning before back to the beginning that we
- 14:21were going to do an Aussie solo run of his early albums.
- 14:25So we did an Aussie collab live stream last week where we did an
- 14:31episode of the show, but it was also on Ghost Coast channels.
- 14:34And then with that runs as a podcast.
- 14:37And then this week's we already recorded it and it's a, you
- 14:40know, a deep dive review on Ozzy's early split from Sabbath.
- 14:44What happened exactly? A little bit of Dio, Sabbath
- 14:47history, and then a very deep dive on Blizzard of Oz
- 14:52Obviously, you know, it's not every Ozzy albums.
- 14:55A 9:50 Blizzard of Oz is pretty damn close and it's pretty it's
- 15:02pretty damn great. I think it's pretty great, but
- 15:07yeah, you know, for everybody watching thank you.
- 15:10So that's just some programming knows we'll be back.
- 15:12So here's the city. I'll I'll again, the best
- 15:15experience for this is Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and Instagram,
- 15:19where you can actually see thanks to stream yard, all our
- 15:22stuff. But TikTok, if you're hanging
- 15:23out with us, I'll keep you informed.
- 15:26So this picture kind of shows and again, our writer Gary from
- 15:31the UK was there today, took these photos.
- 15:35These are his photos. Actually, before I even show the
- 15:37photos, I think we'll show a little bit more of the videos of
- 15:40Sharon and the family, if that's cool with everybody.
- 15:43Again, TikTok, unfortunately stream yard doesn't have TikTok
- 15:48yet, so which I can do with that, but let's just for a
- 15:53second see if I can find right window, right tab.
- 16:12OK, so here is the funeral procession rolling up to you
- 16:20guys can see this. This is rolling up to the
- 16:26procession, rolling by the people.
- 16:29So we're seeing this purse with Ozzy flowers in the windows and
- 16:33what I believe is a coffin and then the minivan with Sharon,
- 16:39several days with family, Ozzy's oldest children before Sharon
- 16:44and his, you know, his children and grandchildren.
- 16:47Sid was there from Slipknot with Kelly's fiance.
- 16:54But this is the roar of applause.
- 16:57Yeah, me too, Mark. Mark says I was getting better
- 16:59until I saw the funeral today. Me too.
- 17:01I'm just wrecked. I'm lucky I got good people
- 17:06around me to check in on me and lift me up.
- 17:11This is just the thunderous applause of main strip in
- 17:14Birmingham, in this building that they're passing as a
- 17:19university. But also, I guess, and there's a
- 17:23second video of or I guess it's another video, there was like a
- 17:26marching band that also played. So also also put me back in Hay
- 17:34also. Yeah.
- 17:37Hadfield. Yeah.
- 17:38Like basically a lot of people flew back for the funeral.
- 17:41Pantera, Metallica, A lot of people went back to be part of
- 17:46the private funeral ceremony. I doubt there will be photos.
- 17:49I think it's very ghoulish to have personal a personal
- 17:53experience like a funeral taped or video or selfies.
- 17:57I think that's kind of gross. But I understand why this is
- 18:01like so many people cherish Ozzy and so many people really, you
- 18:07know, went all out to be part of this today.
- 18:09So like, I mean, this looks like 10s of thousands, like 20,000
- 18:12people just in this little square alone.
- 18:14And basically the main Museum of the City of Manchester became an
- 18:19Aussie museum for the day. So this is some wild, absolutely
- 18:23wild shit. And again, there were there were
- 18:27already murals all over town specifically for the back to the
- 18:31beginning that are maybe going to be permanent, I hope.
- 18:34But they all basically turned into public memorials for Ozzy
- 18:38and and, you know, respect for Sabbath, which is great to see.
- 18:42So all these, you know, photos are here, this one, this Black
- 18:48Sabbath with the lightning bolts, with the classic Black
- 18:51Sabbath WAVY, you know, like you took a puff of a joint and then
- 18:57saw the logo and it was like, is it moving or am I moving?
- 19:01You know, every public transportation in the town had
- 19:05like an Aussie logo on it or a Black Sabbath logo.
- 19:10Mark says. I did YouTube 82 Irvine with
- 19:14Gillis on guitar. Nice.
- 19:16You know, I interviewed Gillis recently last year about Night
- 19:21Ranger, who I love, and Brad talked openly about the Aussie
- 19:26thing and how much he still respects them and how good they
- 19:28treated him and all this stuff. I mean, Brad is an incredible
- 19:31guitar player and a real sweetheart.
- 19:33I hope I get to talk to him again sometimes.
- 19:35I'm such a huge fan, but basically all the the whole town
- 19:39was like rebranded as even more than it was 2 weeks ago.
- 19:43It was over branded for Sabbath and Ozzy today.
- 19:47Like they really went all out. There were trucks riding around
- 19:50town with Ozzy's image on it. These things went up everywhere.
- 19:55Ozzy forever and Birmingham forever and and all these
- 19:58things. There's the Black Sabbath
- 19:59Bridge, just kind of obliterated by balloons and and and messages
- 20:03and bats and everything, man. So this is like this Brit major
- 20:08bridge over town has Ozzy forever on it.
- 20:12You know Birmingham will always love you.
- 20:15Is the message on that Ozzy picture just unbelievable.
- 20:20Ozzy was one of your first concerts in the 80s when you
- 20:22were in high school. That's amazing.
- 20:25I didn't see Ozzy till the No More Tears for which was a
- 20:29fucking game changer. Honestly.
- 20:31I love Mike Inez, ever since then, before he even joined
- 20:34Alice In Chains. And so I'm with Randy Castillo.
- 20:37Super sad that that guy's passed away.
- 20:40So yeah, man, these, these things.
- 20:43So again, there's like the block where the procession was
- 20:46ultimate sin, Metallica. Sick.
- 20:47I did not see that Torah, which I had because I never saw Cliff.
- 20:51I love Cliff. So they turned this Museum of
- 20:55Birmingham into an Aussie museum basically for the day, which is
- 20:59crazy. Or maybe even this, this whole
- 21:01month, here's people just queuing into the museum, as they
- 21:06say in the UK, queuing to be part of this thing.
- 21:10And they created exhibit halls and some of his memorabilia was
- 21:14donated. This might have been related to
- 21:19the big, you know, the the big back to the beginning show that
- 21:26working class hero. This poster, if you're watching
- 21:28this on this on the stream Yard channels, working class Sarah
- 21:32was a John Lennon tribute that Ozzy was part of.
- 21:36And he loved The Beatles, as you know, and he loved John Lennon.
- 21:39He talked a lot about Ozzy's underrated musicality and
- 21:42artistry. He doesn't get any credit or
- 21:45enough credit because so and so wrote the lyrics and this and
- 21:48this and that. And Dio is a better singer.
- 21:49I really don't want to hear about it right now.
- 21:51I love Dio and I miss him. And I saw Dio also, but yeah,
- 21:57you don't have to punch down at Ozzy to lift up.
- 21:59DODO stands on his little 2 legs by himself, a giant first rimpy
- 22:04guy. These are some awards that Ozzy
- 22:07had won. MTV award.
- 22:09There's AI think it's the revolver award is a big middle
- 22:11finger. The Devil horns Moon Awards, all
- 22:16kinds of different things. Incredible Grammys.
- 22:21Yeah. This billboard is a devil horns
- 22:23touring award. The legend of live.
- 22:26This is from back in the 2000s, might be 2010 or 2009.
- 22:34Yeah, man, just unbelievable. And then some actual original
- 22:38photography. Here's a photo of Ozzie rocking
- 22:41out with the fringe. You know what that's all about?
- 22:45Badger says. I'll just always say that I
- 22:48still do the Tony Martineau or Sav Sav.
- 22:51Yeah, man, I love Tony. Me.
- 22:52I bought the Tony Martin box set.
- 22:54It was an indulgence for me to buy such an expensive thing for
- 22:57myself. You know, those records aren't
- 22:59all great, but Tony is great. And I'm glad that I only put the
- 23:03love in to do that box set. And it's worth, I think, you
- 23:06know, if you're a die hard, it's worth having.
- 23:09Is it essential as Dio and Ozzie?
- 23:11It isn't. I love, you know, I love the
- 23:18Born Again album with Ian Gillen from Deep Purple.
- 23:20That's really one of my favorites actually.
- 23:22You know, right outside the obvious classics of Ozzy and
- 23:26Dio. So I don't even love Dehumanizer
- 23:29that much. I know that's kind of a hot
- 23:30take. I'm not insulting the record.
- 23:31It's just like by 94 I was listening to so much other
- 23:35stuff. Pantera 9 inch nails simple to
- 23:37her Fear Factory Type O Negative porn came along and I was like,
- 23:43I don't really need Wizards and swords and shit much but you
- 23:47know this is pretty damn amazing.
- 23:49Also, here's the original concert photo.
- 23:53I believe Ross Hoffman shot this that became the cover of tribute
- 23:57and obviously on a ton of shirts.
- 24:00Ozzy lifting up little ass Randy Rhodes while he solos crazy shit
- 24:05and Ozzy's incredible face during that pose.
- 24:09Just unbelievable. Some more stuff from Birmingham
- 24:16again, there are murals all over the city of the band and people
- 24:20were putting personal drawings and wood carvings and messages
- 24:23and music and all kinds of photos and their own mirror and
- 24:27villain. You just got Eternal Idol
- 24:29ordered that. I owe you a mastered.
- 24:30Nice job. Nice.
- 24:31Also, again, not necessarily a great album, but if you love
- 24:34that era and you're a completist, you do want it
- 24:37again. Waiting for the Born Again to be
- 24:39the next thing. Hopefully this is pretty the
- 24:44same shot but a little bit differently orientated with, you
- 24:47know, footballs and trophies and shirts with audio messages
- 24:52scrolled on them and guitar picks and big caps and beautiful
- 24:56flowers and all this. I mean, pretty damn
- 24:59unbelievable. And again, further up on the
- 25:04wall with just a tons of, you know, I think this sign in the
- 25:12backpack says lived as a Prince, remembered as a hero because
- 25:16I've seen it a few times. It's pretty damn great.
- 25:21And then again, here's some different shots of the wall and
- 25:23the bridge just obliterated by flowers and memorials.
- 25:27Here's again, that those shots of the of the hearse pulling up,
- 25:34people are flinging flowers on it as it rides by, almost like
- 25:38royalty. And then, yeah, man, that's, you
- 25:42know, I don't know if anybody else has any more memories they
- 25:45want to share, but that's kind of all the pictures that I felt
- 25:52were appropriate to share. I left out any personal pictures
- 25:54of Gary and his family because I just feel like that's intrusive.
- 25:59Gary's incredible. He's one of our best writers.
- 26:01Usually when there's an important review to write, he
- 26:03writes it. There'll be 1 going up tonight
- 26:06that Gary wrote and reviewed. But you know, I'm just grateful
- 26:11to this community, all of you, anybody who's watched even for a
- 26:15second, to be able to come on here and and open up my heart
- 26:19and share this stuff and talk. Hey, thanks, Anarchy Faye, I
- 26:23appreciate you. Thanks for being here.
- 26:26All the Twitch folks, you know, we're just talking about Ozzy
- 26:30and the funeral today and the procession and you know, I'm
- 26:34sure we'll get the official total.
- 26:35I mean, Birmingham can't even, and maybe it has a few 100,000
- 26:38people. I can't imagine there's a
- 26:39million people that live there. Maybe I'm mistaken.
- 26:42I guess I should have my facts right.
- 26:47I mean, surely Ozzy is the most notable person ever to come from
- 26:51there. Oh, this is interesting.
- 26:56OK, so Birmingham or Birmingham is a city in metropolitan
- 27:01borough in the county of West Midlands in the region of
- 27:04England, is the largest local authority district in England by
- 27:07population, second largest in Britain.
- 27:09OK, they do have 1.6 million people.
- 27:12So the urban area has a population of two and a half
- 27:16million. So OK, I stand corrected.
- 27:18I thought it was a little smaller and more intimate, but,
- 27:23yeah, I mean, you know, I'm with you on that.
- 27:26And Ricky Fay, I'm also thankful the Osborne family led the
- 27:29public mourn with them again. You know, Sharon, for all of my
- 27:34criticism about certain things in the past, she's just broken
- 27:39by this. She was with him for 43 years,
- 27:42knew him her whole life, basically there.
- 27:46He's just a few years older than her.
- 27:48You know, her dad managed them. She was in her 20s at the same
- 27:52time as Ozzy, just a few years younger than him.
- 27:55She's 72 and, you know, she knew Ozzy, you know, as a young girl.
- 28:03And her support and love of Ozzy actually cost her about 20 years
- 28:07of her relationship with her dad, which she did end up
- 28:10preparing that before he was ill and passed away.
- 28:13And we're reading today that she took care of him and and paid
- 28:17for her father's care, even though they had been some
- 28:20acrimony for a long time. Obviously, the Osbourne Show has
- 28:23her dad just what an insane time.
- 28:28But like, you know, as bad as social media can be at its
- 28:31worst, this is the best of social media.
- 28:33We were able hundreds of thousands, millions of people
- 28:36were able to live stream this funeral procession in in this
- 28:39town in England all day long started it, you know, like those
- 28:44it was like, you know, England is five hours ahead of New York
- 28:49City and eight hours ahead of California where I live.
- 28:52And so I'm just really grateful for this opportunity.
- 28:57Talk about bringing world together.
- 28:59That's right. I'm just really grateful that I
- 29:01was able to have this time with all of you and I was able to
- 29:04watch this, you know, on and off today.
- 29:07It was very nice that all of Ozzy's family was there because
- 29:10he does have kids from the previous marriage before Sharon,
- 29:13and he had made a point to reconnect with them and bring
- 29:16them into his life again. Seeing Kelly rock the Aussie
- 29:21glasses, the No More Tears glasses as a tribute to John
- 29:25Lennon. That was Ozzy's way of honoring
- 29:26The Beatles, her way of honoring her dad, among many things.
- 29:31Amy and Sharon throwing up the peace sign, which was Ozzy's,
- 29:36you know, kind of his thing. Just what a so heavy, so heavy.
- 29:44Tomorrow we'll be back. Tomorrow afternoon, I'll be back
- 29:46on my weekly show, Ghost Cult. Does our interviews wind up on
- 29:51our YouTube podcasts and our website?
- 29:54You know, anybody that's following around the world?
- 29:56Thanks for watching. And yeah, I'll be back tomorrow.
- 30:01And we have an ending for this. So I'm just going to say thank
- 30:05you all. As Ozzy would say, I love you
- 30:07all. And.
- 30:09And if You fail also chimed in and says I watched a video of
- 30:12Kelly and Ozzy singing changes. Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:15Yeah, thanks so much. Appreciate you.
- 30:17That's what you got to do. I say that every week at the end
- 30:20of my regular show, which is take care of yourselves and take
- 30:23care of everybody else because thank you, Mark.
- 30:26We, you know, you're supposed to judge a society by how we pull
- 30:30together in a crisis and how you treat the weakest people in a
- 30:33society and not shit on them. That's how I was raised.
- 30:36That's how the rest of the world does in America, not so much
- 30:39sometimes, But I want to believe in the good in people.
- 30:42This showed me the good in a lot of people who interrupted their
- 30:46life to do this. So thank you all for being here.
- 30:49Thanks for watching our channels and stuff.
- 30:51We'll be back tomorrow. I'm Kefi from ghostcoldman.com
- 30:55and as Ozzy would say, I love you all.
- 30:57Take care and peace.
