- 0:24Well, hey guys, good evening, or should I
- 0:26say good morning?
- 0:27I know it's a little bit early in
- 0:28the morning, but I've been busy on a
- 0:30lot of stuff.
- 0:31So I always promise to get these out
- 0:33to you before I get to bed working
- 0:36on a new book and working on some
- 0:38audio projects.
- 0:39So it's been a little bit crazy doing
- 0:43some narration, but anyway, it's great to be
- 0:45with you.
- 0:46If it's your first time here, I want
- 0:47to say thank you and welcome.
- 0:49If you're coming back, I want to say
- 0:51thank you, of course, but welcome back.
- 0:53I always appreciate people that definitely like my
- 0:56content and want to keep listening to it,
- 0:58watching it, absorbing it, and making it part
- 1:00of their life.
- 1:02If you're thirsty, don't forget to get some
- 1:05RO water or maybe another snack or fruit
- 1:07or beverage or what have you, and yeah,
- 1:10get yourself comfortable.
- 1:11So this is the show for Monday.
- 1:16I know it's March 3rd today, but actually
- 1:18this is Monday, March 2nd, 2026, and we're
- 1:23on Series 5, show number 10.
- 1:26Don't forget to check out BelieveMeAchieved.com, guys,
- 1:29from Where Am I Amazing, of course, Inspiring
- 1:31Creations.
- 1:32Again, it is so great to be with
- 1:34everyone here.
- 1:35I know it's a little early in the
- 1:36morning, depending if you're watching me live.
- 1:38This is Series 5, show 10, episode number
- 1:403.
- 1:42All right, so we're talking all about owning
- 1:46your choices, clarity, courage, and calmness.
- 1:50Monday's topic, which is what we're on, I
- 1:52know it's Tuesday, but it's actually Monday's show,
- 1:55patience, endurance, and consistency.
- 1:59Yeah, that's an important thing.
- 2:01So welcome, everyone, to Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:03I'm John Seymour, a serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing
- 2:07specialist, video producer, podcast host, coach, keynote speaker,
- 2:10graduate student, and a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:13And yes, guys, pretty soon I will be
- 2:14a published author.
- 2:16Really excited for that moment.
- 2:19So today we're diving into patience, endurance, and
- 2:26consistency, the three pillars that transform small daily
- 2:31efforts into unstoppable momentum.
- 2:35This episode is going to basically highlight how
- 2:40to harness these principles, avoid shortcuts that steal
- 2:43progress, and create long-term wins through intentional
- 2:48action.
- 2:49Yeah, that's what this is all about.
- 2:51So patience, ladies and gentlemen, allows growth to
- 2:54unfold naturally.
- 2:56Life is a marathon.
- 3:00When you pause and you allow processes to
- 3:04develop, results become sustainable.
- 3:07Endurance converts effort into results over time.
- 3:12Repeat effort compounds into achievement.
- 3:16Strength grows in the doing.
- 3:19Consistency, guys, compounds small wins.
- 3:25Daily incremental actions build an unstoppable foundation.
- 3:33Yeah, an unstoppable foundation.
- 3:36I think that's a really important one to
- 3:39think about.
- 3:40Avoid forbidden shortcuts that block success.
- 3:45They're going to get in your way.
- 3:47Just be alert for them.
- 3:49Instant gratification may feel good at the moment,
- 3:52but real growth comes from discipline.
- 3:56And that's important to know.
- 4:00Patience transforms frustration into clarity.
- 4:04Waiting strategically provides insight and perspective.
- 4:09That's important, guys.
- 4:12So endurance strengthens resilience.
- 4:15I don't know if you know that.
- 4:16And pushing through challenges without giving in to
- 4:20temporary discomfort, that's a big key to success
- 4:24in life.
- 4:25Consistency builds trust in yourself.
- 4:29Show up reliably, and your own confidence skyrockets.
- 4:35I think that's a real important one.
- 4:38I think a lot of people miss that
- 4:39because they're too busy on what the world's
- 4:44doing that they don't have time to see
- 4:46what potential is about.
- 4:49I think that's one that a lot of
- 4:51people, all different ages, I think people just
- 4:55get kind of stuck by what that means
- 4:59and why it means something.
- 5:01And I think the biggest thing to understand
- 5:03with this is that this has the capability,
- 5:06guys, of changing your life.
- 5:10Not overnight, but pretty quickly, guys.
- 5:13Steady steps generate momentum.
- 5:16Small, persistent actions create a forward force you
- 5:19can't ignore.
- 5:21Avoid distractions that steal focus.
- 5:23Focus your energy on high-impact activities.
- 5:27Not the shallow stimuli that so many people
- 5:30say you should be going after.
- 5:32It's not worth your time or your effort.
- 5:35Patience, guys, improves decision-making under pressure.
- 5:39When you pause, you make better choices.
- 5:44Endurance boosts confidence, guys, every day.
- 5:47Knowing you can sustain effort fuels self-belief.
- 5:55Consistency accelerates results.
- 5:57Repetition multiplies outcomes.
- 6:00For beyond a single push is what it's
- 6:03about.
- 6:05Resist impulses that compromise your integrity.
- 6:11Every no strengthens your alignment with long-term
- 6:15goals.
- 6:15We've talked about this before, but it's important
- 6:17that we hash it again.
- 6:18Patience turns waiting into advantage.
- 6:24Timing is as powerful as action.
- 6:27Don't rush what requires growth.
- 6:31Endurance converts repetition into mastery.
- 6:36Skill is forged over time, not in bursts,
- 6:39guys.
- 6:40Consistency stabilizes focus.
- 6:43Habits guard your attention against chaos.
- 6:47Avoid actions that waste time.
- 6:52Deliberate effort beats reactive motion every single time.
- 6:56Patience allows learning before acting.
- 6:59Absorb lessons and insights.
- 7:02Don't leap blindly.
- 7:04No, don't do that, guys.
- 7:06Be grounded.
- 7:09Energy invested is the key.
- 7:11Steadily is energy preserved for the long run.
- 7:15Consistency, guys, shapes the identity.
- 7:20Who you are is determined by what you
- 7:22do daily.
- 7:24Not occasionally.
- 7:25Not what you do on a Friday night
- 7:27or not what you do one day in
- 7:31the month.
- 7:31It's what you do consistently because that's how
- 7:34you show up for yourself and for others.
- 7:37Small, patient steps lead to long-term victories.
- 7:40Every deliberate move adds to a legacy of
- 7:44success.
- 7:46Endurance fuels confidence under those moments when we
- 7:50sometimes get uncertainty.
- 7:53Persistence under pressure creates trust and, of course,
- 7:59courage.
- 8:01I love persistence because persistence not only keeps
- 8:07us coming back, but it develops this mindset
- 8:11in us that we have to keep going.
- 8:18There's a reason for that.
- 8:20Consistency shapes our reputation quietly.
- 8:24People notice results over time, not words or
- 8:27flashes of effort.
- 8:29Guys, you know I'm working on my book,
- 8:31so I only have two more chapters left
- 8:33to write.
- 8:35I'll be going through final proofing, and then
- 8:36we'll be publishing in April.
- 8:39By the way, some other good news.
- 8:41Jason Academy is coming.
- 8:42We've had the email for a while, but
- 8:44Jason Academy, the website is coming.
- 8:46That's my coaching website.
- 8:48That's where the home of inspirations for your
- 8:50life is going to finally live.
- 8:52It didn't really have a home, but now
- 8:53it's going to have a home.
- 8:55It's going to be part of Jason Academy.
- 8:57For those of you that are looking to
- 8:58be a guest on the show, well, you'll
- 9:00go to Jason Academy, just like if you
- 9:01wanted to get on the tech show.
- 9:03You go to the Jamor site, and there'll
- 9:05be a place there where you can actually
- 9:06apply to get on the show.
- 9:09All right, guys.
- 9:10Avoid shortcuts that compromise results.
- 9:13Anything that bypasses effort undermines lasting achievement.
- 9:17Patience develops resilience.
- 9:20Waiting strengthens mental and emotional toughness.
- 9:25Endurance builds discipline beyond motivation.
- 9:30Motivation fluctuates.
- 9:32Endurance solidifies the habits that we have.
- 9:38Consistency.
- 9:39It prevents regret from missed opportunities.
- 9:44And you might be saying to me, John,
- 9:46why don't I have any regrets?
- 9:47Well, do you wish maybe you did something
- 9:50a different way?
- 9:51Do you wish maybe that you didn't give
- 9:55up?
- 9:56Do you wish maybe that you tried something
- 9:58a different way?
- 9:59Maybe.
- 10:01And maybe we don't call them regrets.
- 10:02Maybe we just call them things we wish
- 10:06we did, right?
- 10:07Maybe.
- 10:10Consistency prevents regret from missed opportunities.
- 10:13Now, daily effort ensures that you won't look
- 10:16back wishing you had started sooner.
- 10:19Avoid indulgences that drain progress.
- 10:23Energy is finite.
- 10:25Protect it for the tasks that matter.
- 10:29That's important, guys.
- 10:31Patience amplifies deliberate choices when you wait thoughtfully.
- 10:35Each choice carries greater weight.
- 10:38And waiting sometimes, I know that can feel
- 10:44hard.
- 10:46It can feel very heavy on us.
- 10:48And the key is not to be thinking
- 10:51about it being heavy.
- 10:52Because it's not heavy.
- 10:54It's the power that you have.
- 10:56And that's something that I think is very
- 10:58important to think about.
- 11:01How that can happen.
- 11:05Okay?
- 11:07And why that can happen.
- 11:10I think that's something that a lot of
- 11:11people, you know, they get stuck with.
- 11:14And the reason they get stuck with it,
- 11:21their belief.
- 11:27Their belief.
- 11:29And believe it or not, your actions actually
- 11:36affect your reality.
- 11:38Your thoughts affect your reality.
- 11:41Even what you don't do affects reality.
- 11:44Just your energy.
- 11:46And what you say.
- 11:47And how you move and interact in the
- 11:51world.
- 11:51Your body language is really key.
- 11:54So when you wait thoughtfully, each choice carries
- 11:57greater and more significant weight.
- 12:02Endurance plus consistency makes excellence inevitable.
- 12:09In other words, bound to happen.
- 12:11The compounding effect of these principles guarantees what?
- 12:16Long-term success.
- 12:19And maybe you're saying to me, John, I
- 12:22don't see how this works.
- 12:25Well, whether you see how it works or
- 12:27not doesn't matter at the moment.
- 12:29Because it's still going to happen in your
- 12:32life.
- 12:33If you show up, if you keep doing
- 12:35the activities.
- 12:38Life, a lot of it is a numbers
- 12:39game.
- 12:40Especially sales and things like that.
- 12:42But your premise in life comes from who
- 12:47you are.
- 12:48And who you believe you are.
- 12:51Even if you're not that person yet, your
- 12:53belief will transform you into something that you
- 12:57want to become.
- 13:00I think that's a very important thing to
- 13:03say.
- 13:06Very important thing to say.
- 13:09Because the way we face things happens because
- 13:17of the experiences we've gone through.
- 13:19Now, something I learned, always learning each day,
- 13:23as you know.
- 13:24But being an author, becoming an author, I
- 13:27should say.
- 13:28You really learn about others and you learn
- 13:31about yourself because you're writing and you're interpolating.
- 13:36And I'm becoming more in tune with awareness.
- 13:39And I talk a lot about it in
- 13:41my book.
- 13:43But I think knowing and being able to
- 13:49ponder and pause and also, well, meditate.
- 13:58Helps us to get this different perspective.
- 14:04And think of perspective like, well, you could
- 14:06think of it like a different hat you
- 14:09put on, right?
- 14:11Different pair of glasses, actually, seriously.
- 14:14Because the perspective you have affects how you
- 14:19see the world.
- 14:21If you wear dark glasses, you're going to
- 14:24see the world dark.
- 14:25If you wear clear glasses, you're going to
- 14:26see the world light.
- 14:27If you wear prism glasses, well, you're going
- 14:29to see prisms and rainbows in the world.
- 14:33If you understand this, and not just understand
- 14:39it, but if you believe it, it will
- 14:45become reality.
- 14:46If you don't believe something, I'm not going
- 14:49to say it won't become a reality, but
- 14:50it will take longer for your mind and
- 14:54body to latch onto it.
- 14:57Once your mind and body latches onto something,
- 14:59oh, it's game time.
- 15:01And you're going for a touchdown.
- 15:04And that's inevitable.
- 15:05It's just how much time it's going to
- 15:08take for the ball to actually get to
- 15:11the end zone.
- 15:13Some people feel that if the ball or
- 15:17the puck doesn't get there immediately, then, well,
- 15:21maybe it's time to change what we're doing.
- 15:26Maybe.
- 15:27But if it isn't, then how do we
- 15:30change our perspective?
- 15:34Now, it's not really about changing your glasses.
- 15:36We're using that as a, let's say, analogy.
- 15:42If you could picture right now that one
- 15:47thing you did would change your perception, let
- 15:51me see if I can give you an
- 15:52example.
- 15:53I don't know if any of you guys
- 15:55do work for charity or anything like that.
- 15:57But if you know about a charity and
- 16:01you haven't had the opportunity to go work
- 16:03with that charity, go do that.
- 16:05Because it's going to give you a completely
- 16:07different perspective on how that charity works and
- 16:14how charity in general operates.
- 16:16And I think if we can appreciate that
- 16:19one thing, we'll have a different perspective.
- 16:26And the perspective might make us more giving.
- 16:30It might make us more understanding.
- 16:31But there's one thing that I recently learned,
- 16:35and I didn't even realize I was going
- 16:37to learn something.
- 16:39You know what the skill was?
- 16:42It was becoming, I don't want to say
- 16:49passive, but I want to say less aggressive.
- 16:58Somebody who's able to hold a conversation.
- 17:04And not let the outcome affect how I
- 17:10respond.
- 17:12Now, if it's good, of course, you want
- 17:13to respond good, but maybe somebody is not
- 17:16treating you well.
- 17:17And I had a situation happen with this
- 17:20recently.
- 17:20It was a client, still a client, and
- 17:23I was getting picked this way and that
- 17:26way.
- 17:27And I know I'm good, but I'm not
- 17:28here to have an ego.
- 17:31And the person was getting angry, and the
- 17:33person was yelling and cursing.
- 17:36I usually don't tolerate that, but because this
- 17:38person was a pretty senior person, I cut
- 17:41them a little slack.
- 17:42And they had some medical issues, I cut
- 17:44them some slack.
- 17:45But I still said, you know, I don't
- 17:47think that's professional.
- 17:51And that wasn't losing my composure.
- 17:54I think that's the biggest thing I learned
- 17:55the last few months is composure is everything.
- 18:01Because in this one sense, I was expecting
- 18:03a check.
- 18:06And in that same sentence, they were telling
- 18:10me they were done with us.
- 18:11They didn't want to work with us anymore.
- 18:14And I said, I need to separate this
- 18:18from personal or emotional and just chalk it
- 18:23off as, okay, if that's the way it
- 18:24is, that's the way it is.
- 18:26But don't get emotionally attached by it.
- 18:29I still was courteous.
- 18:31I was kind, respectful.
- 18:33And then when the session ended and the
- 18:37invoice was still on the counter, the person
- 18:40is like, well, what do you want me
- 18:41to do with this?
- 18:43Well, if you still want my services, then
- 18:49you're going to need to give me a
- 18:51check.
- 18:53Not getting any type of dynamic where you're
- 18:57trying to be rude or trying to be
- 19:01manipulative.
- 19:02No.
- 19:05What I've learned is that by listening and
- 19:10by not reacting to the situation, most people
- 19:13are like, oh my gosh, I didn't get
- 19:14that.
- 19:14Oh, you got to do something.
- 19:15No.
- 19:16You got to detach.
- 19:20And believe it or not, when you detach,
- 19:23people chase you in a good way, in
- 19:31a good way.
- 19:35If you could understand what I learned in
- 19:38the last few months, I think I might
- 19:41even write a book on it.
- 19:43It's the whole concept that you have a
- 19:47conversation with somebody, but how many people have
- 19:50conversations?
- 19:51You know what they do?
- 19:53They pitch.
- 19:54They don't have a conversation for the sake
- 19:58of having a conversation.
- 20:01And when we can appreciate something like that,
- 20:07that takes us from an everyday person in
- 20:10the world to somebody who's in a select
- 20:13circle.
- 20:14I think that's a really important thing that
- 20:17I want to share tonight.
- 20:19You can listen.
- 20:21You can observe.
- 20:22But even if we don't call it pitch,
- 20:24whatever you want to call it, don't use
- 20:28it.
- 20:30Don't even go there until you see if
- 20:33there's a value, a reason.
- 20:36And that reason may not pop up right
- 20:38away.
- 20:39That's okay.
- 20:44When you can understand somebody's challenges and you
- 20:50can understand their pain, and they say they're
- 20:52looking to solve that pain, don't force them
- 20:59to solve the pain.
- 21:01Don't hold something over their head and say,
- 21:03you know, if you don't do this, no,
- 21:05don't do that.
- 21:07It's about being respectful.
- 21:09It's about listening.
- 21:11Or if they're texting you, it's about reading.
- 21:16And not trying to respond in any fast
- 21:19way, shape, or order, but just trying to
- 21:24parse the information, to listen to the information.
- 21:27And then once you've done all that, you
- 21:33just realize that you have started to build
- 21:40a skill that less than 2% of
- 21:43the world has.
- 21:44You know, I was having a conversation with
- 21:47somebody the other day.
- 21:48And we were talking about what is it
- 21:56that helps somebody in business take themselves from
- 22:04being a stranger to being a trusted confidant.
- 22:09Well, the one thing I'm going to tell
- 22:11you here, and I think it's very important
- 22:12to our show, patience and endurance.
- 22:17Patience and endurance.
- 22:21So when you have patience, you also start
- 22:25to build resilience.
- 22:27And when you have resilience, you know what
- 22:29happens?
- 22:31You stay calm.
- 22:34You don't chase things.
- 22:37You become detached.
- 22:42And you might say to me, John, that's
- 22:43a bad thing.
- 22:43No, it's not a bad thing.
- 22:45By being detached, your energy is not going
- 22:50a million different directions, and you're also not
- 22:52burning your fuel.
- 22:54It's kind of like thinking you have a
- 22:56battery, right?
- 22:58And you have a flashlight.
- 22:59And if you have that flashlight and you
- 23:01leave the flashlight on, your batteries are going
- 23:03to become depleted.
- 23:04But if you turn off the flashlight when
- 23:08you don't need it, you don't waste the
- 23:10batteries.
- 23:11I think too many times in life, people
- 23:14have their batteries on full blow.
- 23:18And then they're so addicted to it that
- 23:22they can't figure out how to turn their
- 23:24batteries off.
- 23:26So what do they do?
- 23:28They burn their batteries down.
- 23:30And then they have no power.
- 23:36Think about the conversations you've had, maybe last
- 23:40week.
- 23:40You can start thinking about them this week.
- 23:42And ask yourself one question, and that is,
- 23:46am I listening or am I trying to
- 23:52pitch?
- 23:53Am I trying to impress?
- 23:58When I was younger, I used to think
- 23:59that was the whole thing.
- 24:00You have to impress everybody.
- 24:02But you know what?
- 24:05That's actually cliche.
- 24:08When you show up for yourself and you
- 24:13make a difference, other people want to be
- 24:17part of that.
- 24:24I think when we talk about endurance and
- 24:27we talk about patience, it comes down to
- 24:30who are the people that you care so
- 24:35much about?
- 24:37Family, friends, colleagues, right?
- 24:43And let me ask you a question.
- 24:45If one of those people talks to you,
- 24:48do you listen with both ears?
- 24:52Or do you just kind of have them
- 24:56go in one ear and maybe it goes
- 24:58in and maybe it doesn't?
- 25:03Maybe a loved one.
- 25:05And maybe you're so attached to the situation
- 25:10that you're emotionally charged.
- 25:14And thus, you're affecting your response.
- 25:20I know I've been guilty of this before
- 25:22in the past.
- 25:24Maybe your parents drive you up a wall,
- 25:27right?
- 25:27Maybe they mean well, but you can't take
- 25:33certain things.
- 25:40Detach.
- 25:42Be respectful.
- 25:46Slow things down.
- 25:50When we slow down, we actually speed up.
- 25:53I know that sounds wacky.
- 25:55When we slow down, we don't make mistakes.
- 26:01And that's a powerful thing, guys.
- 26:05Just detaching from something gets its energy to
- 26:10basically fall away.
- 26:18Listening is a very big key.
- 26:21Very big key.
- 26:23And it's something I know you all can
- 26:25do.
- 26:25But for some reason, some people don't do
- 26:27it because, well, they have this ego up
- 26:31here.
- 26:31And this ego says, well, you know, I'm
- 26:33better than everybody.
- 26:37And then you're playing this ego-clashing game.
- 26:41Not good.
- 26:43Not good.
