- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's a Vegetal podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 2: That's your conspiracy theory.
- 0:20Speaker 4: I'm trying to think of a good one. I have
- 0:22Speaker 4: a million.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I think the biggest one to me is Elvis.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I do think that we landed on the Moon, but
- 0:28Speaker 2: I don't think that the moon landing video.
- 0:32Speaker 3: We would have the technology of sending video from one
- 0:36Speaker 3: side of the Earth to the other, but you don't
- 0:38Speaker 3: think we could do it from the moon. Now it's
- 0:40Speaker 3: the same technology.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And there's also just like a little loved One's I've
- 0:46Speaker 2: gone down the Tupac rabbit hole before we go. Also
- 0:49Speaker 2: but like he was shot and killed, it's it's tragic.
- 0:52Speaker 5: He didn't die in the car, though, he died in
- 0:54Speaker 5: the hospital and was cremated right away.
- 1:01Speaker 4: That's the sign.
- 1:02Speaker 3: The commercials that they run during these shows are just
- 1:06Speaker 3: too familiar. I mean, like nothing is sacred's small blou
- 1:10Speaker 3: Bras panties for you know why.
- 1:13Speaker 4: My wife coined this one.
- 1:14Speaker 6: She said, you're only supposed to actually watch watch your
- 1:17Speaker 6: pits and slits is all whoa.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Bang Bang Man Dead. This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:23Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:26Speaker 3: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com. All right, welcome
- 1:31Speaker 3: to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here at JILS Stadium,
- 1:36Speaker 3: and we're gonna wrap up what was rookie mini camp
- 1:39Speaker 3: and he leftovers from that because this is the first
- 1:41Speaker 3: time we've had to talk about it on this show,
- 1:43Speaker 3: and of course preview the schedule release, which is coming
- 1:47Speaker 3: out tomorrow at eight o'clock. Several games have already been revealed,
- 1:51Speaker 3: so we'll get into that and maybe speculate about Patriots
- 1:54Speaker 3: a little bit, you know. Disclaimer, none of us know anything,
- 1:59Speaker 3: so don't you know, you know, anything that we guess
- 2:02Speaker 3: is just a guess. But that's coming up, and schedule
- 2:07Speaker 3: release has become a pretty big thing in the NFL.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Sure has a lot of announcements, a lot of announcements.
- 2:13Speaker 4: For the announcements, Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 2: We're announcing announcements.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yeah we're gonna announce it. We're gonna make an announcement.
- 2:18Speaker 3: We did.
- 2:18Speaker 7: I would just like to say that after listening to
- 2:20Speaker 7: the intro to today's show, I understand why it's not
- 2:23Speaker 7: suitable for children.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely makes sense. Well, I have the jokes they
- 2:27Speaker 3: don't understand, but the ones that slipped through could be a.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Lot of traumatic a lot of positive feedback from that.
- 2:35Speaker 4: That epic show that we put together last week.
- 2:37Speaker 3: The Conspiracy, Yeah special, Yeah, Yeah, it's one of our
- 2:40Speaker 3: better fun It's fun to talk about that stuff. It is. Yeah,
- 2:45Speaker 3: but we're going to talk about Patriots. And where is
- 2:47Speaker 3: Deuce by the.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Way, he is at Brendan's schooler and Marte Mapu.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Because I heard him this morning on ninety eight point
- 2:54Speaker 3: five giving his synopsis of of of rookie Mini Camp
- 2:58Speaker 3: and Drake May and the why receivers Joe Milton. You know,
- 3:05Speaker 3: I I Paul, So I listened to Deuce. Yes, and
- 3:11Speaker 3: I wasn't there. I wasn't there on Saturday. So yes,
- 3:14Speaker 3: so I'm relying on what I'm hearing. I listened to
- 3:17Speaker 3: Deuce this morning and then I see Tom Curran. Somebody
- 3:20Speaker 3: said that Tom Curran said he thought Joe Milton was
- 3:23Speaker 3: the more accurate of the two quarterbacks.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, are we really doing that?
- 3:28Speaker 7: According to Deuce, she should not be doing that.
- 3:30Speaker 3: That wasn't the case.
- 3:31Speaker 4: So Evan, what do you think I'm gonna take the
- 3:35Speaker 4: last hour and fifty minutes off.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I gotta be honest with you, I think crading either
- 3:39Speaker 2: one of those guys off of that practice is foolish.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I mean we were out there for one hour. There
- 3:46Speaker 2: was one seven on seven period at the tail end
- 3:48Speaker 2: of practice that was maybe three quarter speed. That was
- 3:52Speaker 2: not That was not real football. And to sit here
- 3:55Speaker 2: and dissect these guys based off of shorts and a
- 3:58Speaker 2: T shirt and a rookie and he can practice is
- 4:01Speaker 2: not what it's all about.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:02Speaker 2: But with that being said, I think that what you
- 4:06Speaker 2: saw with both guys is that they have a new
- 4:09Speaker 2: type at the quarterback position. I mean, they're two athletic,
- 4:14Speaker 2: bigger guys, big arms, you know, have good arm talent,
- 4:18Speaker 2: good zip on the ball, that are going to have
- 4:21Speaker 2: to work through some inaccuracies and mechanical issues. And I
- 4:26Speaker 2: think the biggest thing with Drake May is they weren't
- 4:29Speaker 2: really doing stuff at full speed because I think they're
- 4:31Speaker 2: trying to develop good habits first. You know, let's start
- 4:35Speaker 2: it at half speed with doing it correctly, and then
- 4:38Speaker 2: let's build it up from there and eventually we'll get
- 4:40Speaker 2: to full speed. So if you wanted to get into
- 4:44Speaker 2: who was more accurate. You know, Drake May I think
- 4:47Speaker 2: was five of six in his seven on seven and
- 4:50Speaker 2: Joe Milton was like one of four or one of five,
- 4:53Speaker 2: So I'm not sure how you would say he was
- 4:54Speaker 2: the more accurate quarterback. But again I'm not I'm not
- 4:59Speaker 2: giving over poor card based off of a rookie mini
- 5:02Speaker 2: camp practice. I'm just not doing it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Okay, I just got to send this text to somebody.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I just think it's unfortunately it was predictable,
- 5:12Speaker 4: and I did see some people tweeting the numbers that
- 5:16Speaker 4: Evan just talked about. Yeah, I think it's unfortunate that
- 5:20Speaker 4: these guys get out there and they're basically just sort
- 5:23Speaker 4: of learning where to go and what to do and
- 5:26Speaker 4: how to go about trying to be patriots. And many
- 5:30Speaker 4: of the people that were even out there weren't even
- 5:32Speaker 4: officially patriots yet there were those like twenty guysts on tryouts.
- 5:36Speaker 4: So I thought it was a little unfortunate but not
- 5:40Speaker 4: overly surprising to see people tweeting about, you know, Drake
- 5:44Speaker 4: May was five or six, Joe Milton was one. For Like,
- 5:47Speaker 4: I agree with Evan, I think that both guys have
- 5:51Speaker 4: immense physical skills, and that's all you can really learn
- 5:54Speaker 4: at a rookie mini camp our window.
- 5:57Speaker 3: But these things we knew.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Yeeah, Yeah, I mean I saw a more strong athletic
- 6:02Speaker 4: who can throw the ball.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I saw more in terms of what
- 6:06Speaker 2: Drake May can do at his pro day and I
- 6:08Speaker 2: saw on Saturday.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I meant, yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Like, I think he threw something like almost seventy five
- 6:14Speaker 2: passes at his pro day and this one he threw
- 6:16Speaker 2: maybe ten that were like you could even call passes,
- 6:19Speaker 2: you know, that weren't warm up tosses. So we were
- 6:23Speaker 2: talking about it and I said to everybody that was there,
- 6:26Speaker 2: I was like, this is this is nothing Like he's
- 6:28Speaker 2: throwing a five yard slant like you know, his pro day,
- 6:30Speaker 2: he's throwing fifty yards off his back foot, Like, well
- 6:33Speaker 2: wait until you see you know them really get into it.
- 6:37Speaker 2: So I think the biggest thing that you take away
- 6:40Speaker 2: from these practices are two things like who's working with
- 6:43Speaker 2: who in terms of the coaching staff was interesting. You know,
- 6:46Speaker 2: the group the core group of guys that quarterbacks coach
- 6:50Speaker 2: TC McCartney, obviously Alex man Pelt, Ben McAdoo and then
- 6:54Speaker 2: off to the side doing his Ernie Adams impersonation was
- 6:57Speaker 2: Evan Rossty and you know, with the arms folded. I
- 7:00Speaker 2: read that in your Yeah, it looked exactly or tried
- 7:04Speaker 2: to look exactly like Ernie would look.
- 7:06Speaker 3: So, you know, those you don't want to be exactly
- 7:08Speaker 3: like you.
- 7:09Speaker 2: No, well close enough. Those four guys were the ones
- 7:12Speaker 2: that were around the quarterbacks. McCartney and a VP definitely
- 7:17Speaker 2: were the hands on guys. McAdoo was more just observing
- 7:20Speaker 2: what was going on. And I think the other thing
- 7:23Speaker 2: that you took away a little bit is just the
- 7:26Speaker 2: budding relationship between Drake May and Jalen Polk specifically, but
- 7:31Speaker 2: also Javon Baker was in there, Jean Bell, Kitaan Wallace.
- 7:36Speaker 2: These guys, I think realized that this is this is
- 7:39Speaker 2: their team. You know, this is their job right now
- 7:42Speaker 2: is to get this offense going and get this off
- 7:44Speaker 2: the mat and you know, to to really get Patriots
- 7:47Speaker 2: football back on the map. And they're embracing that.
- 7:51Speaker 3: It's like though, you know, so you go to rookie
- 7:53Speaker 3: camp and everyone's kind of in the same boat. Yeah,
- 7:55Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden the veterans come in, Yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 3: and it's like, oh, yeah, I better shut up.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Drake was the man on Saturday. Like
- 8:02Speaker 2: you could tell that, you know, everybody was kind of
- 8:04Speaker 2: gravitating towards him. He had a big smile on his
- 8:06Speaker 2: face the whole time. But you're right, you know, once
- 8:09Speaker 2: Matthew Judan and David Andrews and you know some of
- 8:12Speaker 2: these other guys start to get into camp and OTAs
- 8:15Speaker 2: and things like that, we'll see, you know, what he
- 8:17Speaker 2: looks like then. But there was no doubt about it
- 8:20Speaker 2: that the leader on the field on Saturday was Drake May.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 7: I want to echo what Evan said about Jalen Polk
- 8:25Speaker 7: and Drake May. They were definitely thing one and thing two,
- 8:28Speaker 7: Like Polk waiting for Drake to finish his price conference
- 8:31Speaker 7: and just watching them afterwards. They had definitely have like
- 8:34Speaker 7: a natural chemistry with each other. You can even It's like,
- 8:37Speaker 7: wasn't just something that you saw on TikTok on the
- 8:39Speaker 7: Bruins TikTok, the NHL TikTok over the weekend. Yeah, they
- 8:42Speaker 7: were actually like that at practice too, So it wasn't
- 8:44Speaker 7: just like for social media that everyone's seeing these que folks.
- 8:47Speaker 3: You think they were told, Hey, get to know each
- 8:49Speaker 3: other or do you think they did that on their own.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So they've been staying at the hotel together, all the rookies,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and they have rooms that Drake May said that are
- 8:59Speaker 2: right across the hall from each other. And you know,
- 9:01Speaker 2: he said, it's all they're all football right now. There's
- 9:04Speaker 2: nothing else to do, is what he said. And so
- 9:07Speaker 2: you know, really all they're doing is going back and
- 9:09Speaker 2: forth between rooms and you know, talking football and probably
- 9:13Speaker 2: you know, having some fun and doing other things too,
- 9:15Speaker 2: but you know it's it's a yeah exactly. You know,
- 9:19Speaker 2: maybe someone's brought an x Box with him or something
- 9:21Speaker 2: like that at PS five and then you'd start to
- 9:24Speaker 2: bond for lack of a better word, I mean that's
- 9:26Speaker 2: the word. I guess stuff.
- 9:28Speaker 7: And then chiming in on what Evan said about just
- 9:30Speaker 7: watching like who was with Drake May. My favorite question
- 9:34Speaker 7: from the press conference with Drod Mayo was him identifying,
- 9:37Speaker 7: like who is going to be the main person in
- 9:39Speaker 7: Drake May's ear, Like, obviously you see all these people
- 9:42Speaker 7: on the field around him, but he specifically said a
- 9:45Speaker 7: VP is going to be the one specifically talking to him.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the lead guy.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I think it's good I'm not. I don't care who
- 9:52Speaker 3: it is. Yeah, there should be one person.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that was a little bit. I think something
- 9:58Speaker 2: that you do worry about, if you want to worry
- 10:00Speaker 2: about anything from a one hour practice in rookie mini camp,
- 10:03Speaker 2: is there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen on
- 10:05Speaker 2: the offensive side of the ball. And I'm not exactly
- 10:08Speaker 2: sure that Gerard Mayo knows where his chef hat fits
- 10:12Speaker 2: into all of this on either side of the ball. Frankly,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you know, I think he's still trying to figure out
- 10:18Speaker 2: what's best use of my time, you know, where should
- 10:21Speaker 2: I Should I be just focused on running the defense
- 10:24Speaker 2: and you know, doing that sort of thing, or should
- 10:27Speaker 2: I be like a CEO like Bill was and float
- 10:29Speaker 2: and you know, go around to every single position group
- 10:31Speaker 2: and I you know, I think he's still trying to
- 10:34Speaker 2: learn where exactly he belongs. You know, he said that
- 10:37Speaker 2: he's spent a lot of time with the offense, but
- 10:40Speaker 2: most of their draft picks were on the offensive side
- 10:42Speaker 2: of the ball, So that makes a lot of sense.
- 10:44Speaker 3: So speaking of Gerard, how did he look I was
- 10:47Speaker 3: as a head coach? Like, did he look like a
- 10:50Speaker 3: head coach out there? What was his demeanor.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Uh, Like I said, I think you know, he was
- 10:55Speaker 2: floating a lot, you know, in terms of going to
- 10:57Speaker 2: each position group, offense, defense and special teams even and
- 11:01Speaker 2: just kind of roaming around the field like Bill would.
- 11:04Speaker 2: And I think right now he's he's sort of trying
- 11:06Speaker 2: to figure out what his style.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Bill Bill would stop and probably give one on one
- 11:13Speaker 3: tips to guys.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yeah. I didn't see a lot of that. This was
- 11:15Speaker 2: like hands off, let the coordinators and the position coaches
- 11:19Speaker 2: do their jobs and sort of observe Ye for right now,
- 11:23Speaker 2: I would say it is the best way.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Well was he driving?
- 11:27Speaker 2: No?
- 11:27Speaker 3: No, But if you want to drive and you want
- 11:30Speaker 3: to see Toyota's best offers, including those not seen on TV,
- 11:33Speaker 3: go to buy at toyota dot com. It's Toyota's official
- 11:36Speaker 3: website for deals from the official vehicle of the New
- 11:38Speaker 3: England Patriots, Toyota Let's go places. So I want to
- 11:44Speaker 3: get that out there. Got that done, Matt, Thank you, Matt.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Please give Fred at pat in the back.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't forget.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Okay, So your point about whether or not they may
- 11:57Speaker 4: have told or suggested that, you know, guys spend some time.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I think there's probably some some truth to that. Yeah,
- 12:05Speaker 4: you know why, you know, why wouldn't you want, you know,
- 12:07Speaker 4: jayvon Baker and Polk to be you know, with with
- 12:11Speaker 4: may in Milton too. I mean like they're they're all rookies,
- 12:14Speaker 4: they're you know, they're gonna be with each other. Reading
- 12:17Speaker 4: some of the stuff because I wasn't here for the practice,
- 12:20Speaker 4: but reading some of the stuff, seems like the two
- 12:22Speaker 4: rookie offensive linemen. Also the draft picks, I should say,
- 12:25Speaker 4: I know there's probably Robinson and Wallace both spoke about
- 12:30Speaker 4: how they've sort of been inseparable since they've been here,
- 12:34Speaker 4: and you know, for what it's worth, they were playing
- 12:37Speaker 4: on the both of them on the left side, left
- 12:39Speaker 4: guard for Robinson, left tackle for for Wallace, So similar
- 12:43Speaker 4: kind of thing. You know, these guys get drafted with
- 12:46Speaker 4: the third and fourth round picks, they're probably going to
- 12:48Speaker 4: be here for at least a year. Might as well
- 12:52Speaker 4: get comfortable with one another.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I just really quickly just on the receivers too,
- 12:56Speaker 2: because I know people probably want to know what's going
- 12:58Speaker 2: on with them. I out that both of them were
- 13:00Speaker 2: pretty much as advertised. I wasn't blown away or thought,
- 13:04Speaker 2: oh that I didn't realize that about this guy or
- 13:07Speaker 2: that guy. I think, you know, Jalen Polk looks like
- 13:09Speaker 2: a guy that's a craftsman like. He looks like he
- 13:11Speaker 2: knows how to get open. He very shifty, very heady
- 13:15Speaker 2: with his routes, great hands. We saw in a couple
- 13:17Speaker 2: of instances where he made some really good catches with
- 13:20Speaker 2: his hands as well, And you know, just exactly what
- 13:22Speaker 2: I thought he would be. Not necessarily burner, but you know,
- 13:26Speaker 2: someone that just has that ability, kind of like a
- 13:28Speaker 2: Jacobe Myers to just get open and has a good
- 13:31Speaker 2: feel for the game and instincts. Javon Baker definitely has
- 13:34Speaker 2: another gear, you know, a little bit more of an
- 13:36Speaker 2: explosive burst to him through the top of the route
- 13:40Speaker 2: that is there, that's present.
- 13:42Speaker 3: But he's sort of like Jerry Rice and John Taylor.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Exactly the comparison I was gonna go for there, Yeah,
- 13:48Speaker 2: only maybe a little bit better. Yeah no, Yeah, So
- 13:52Speaker 2: I would say that with Javon Baker, But he had
- 13:54Speaker 2: some inconsistencies, He had some drops, you know, had some
- 13:58Speaker 2: things that they're trying to work on with him, think
- 14:00Speaker 2: in terms of his route running and stuff like that.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So exactly what I kind of expected you had one
- 14:04Speaker 2: that was maybe a little bit more eye popping in
- 14:07Speaker 2: terms of the way that he moves in Jay Von Baker,
- 14:09Speaker 2: and then you have sort of the pro already with
- 14:12Speaker 2: a guy like Jalen Polk. Okay, and what's next up?
- 14:15Speaker 2: We have the OTA Yeah, Otazer. First one is on
- 14:19Speaker 2: May twelve. First one that's open to the media is
- 14:21Speaker 2: on May twentieth, So next week day, Yeah, yep, so
- 14:25Speaker 2: that'll be a big day. Yeah, and that will have
- 14:28Speaker 2: veterans like that's not just the rookies and everything.
- 14:31Speaker 3: So yeah, okay, looking forward to that. The best arm
- 14:35Speaker 3: I saw was on Drew Bledsoe's instagram and throwing to
- 14:39Speaker 3: Julian Edelman. Did you see that rifle that wetso still has,
- 14:44Speaker 3: still got it? I mean, it comes off that hand fast.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and it came off both the rookies
- 14:50Speaker 2: hands fast too. I mean Joe Millon made a throw
- 14:53Speaker 2: rolling to his left where he just kind of flipped
- 14:55Speaker 2: his hips up the field and you saw it like
- 14:58Speaker 2: you were like, Okay, that's that's a powerful arm right there.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Drake May I would say, throws a more catchable ball.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Joe Milton is all gas like he's throwing a ninety
- 15:07Speaker 2: nine mile an hour fastball. Whether you're five yards away
- 15:10Speaker 2: or your twenty five yards away, there's no in between.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Drake May throws that little bit more like pillowey, you know,
- 15:16Speaker 2: touch type of throw.
- 15:17Speaker 3: James pettigrew the most interesting Patriots fan of the world rights.
- 15:20Speaker 3: In his podcast about rookie minicamp, Tom Kerran described Drake
- 15:24Speaker 3: May's arm as above average. I presume this is a
- 15:27Speaker 3: bad take. I was surprised to hear that, well above averages.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I take a Yeah, I don't know. Everybody's getting
- 15:35Speaker 2: on current. I guess he like, isn't the Drake May
- 15:38Speaker 2: guy and has been killed. I don't know. I don't
- 15:41Speaker 2: know what he's I.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Didn't see that, but I don't take above average arm
- 15:43Speaker 4: strength as a negative. No, unless he meant it that way,
- 15:47Speaker 4: and maybe James knows that Tom.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Was, so it could be the way he delivered it.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. James might average. That's the
- 15:54Speaker 4: way Tom meant it, Like I would say Mac Jones's
- 15:57Speaker 4: arm is below average, you know, as a point of comparison.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Well, Jeffrey from Canada, can you visibly see the difference
- 16:03Speaker 3: in arm strength between May and mac Jones.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, I think with Drake May's arm, you know,
- 16:09Speaker 2: they're the difference between arm strength and arm talent is
- 16:16Speaker 2: a big thing. Like do I think that Drake May
- 16:19Speaker 2: has like one hundred and three mile an hour fastball
- 16:21Speaker 2: if you want to call it, like use a baseball analogy. No,
- 16:24Speaker 2: I don't think he's got like a lead elite you know,
- 16:28Speaker 2: arm strength like a Josh Allen who can just like
- 16:31Speaker 2: throw it, you know, through the door. But his talent
- 16:35Speaker 2: comes in with the different angles and platforms that he
- 16:38Speaker 2: can throw the ball and still generate good velocity. You know,
- 16:41Speaker 2: he can throw the ball on the move. He can
- 16:43Speaker 2: throw it, you know, off his back foot and still
- 16:45Speaker 2: be able to push it down the field. He can
- 16:47Speaker 2: you know, do the old you know, drop it down
- 16:49Speaker 2: and flick the wrist and make it the throw fifty
- 16:51Speaker 2: yards down the field. Those types of things I think
- 16:54Speaker 2: if you wanted to put them side by side, like
- 16:56Speaker 2: Joe Milton has a bigger arm than Drake May does.
- 17:00Speaker 2: But I don't think that Joe Millon has as many
- 17:03Speaker 2: pitches in the arsenal that Drake made does.
- 17:05Speaker 3: And Jeffrey also wants to know can you explain the
- 17:07Speaker 3: difference between being able to throw the ball far versus
- 17:09Speaker 3: throwing hard.
- 17:11Speaker 4: I mean, I think that's it.
- 17:12Speaker 3: That's it. I mean, the harder you throw it, the
- 17:15Speaker 3: further it will go.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Like, I've never really seen an NFL quarterback again, you know,
- 17:20Speaker 4: like a real, honest to goodness NFL quarterback in other words,
- 17:24Speaker 4: not that Tim Boyle guy that played for the Jets
- 17:25Speaker 4: last year. Yeah, but who who can't actually throw the ball,
- 17:29Speaker 4: say sixty seventy yards down the field.
- 17:31Speaker 3: You don't get to that point without being it.
- 17:33Speaker 4: But some of though, some of them need to put
- 17:35Speaker 4: more air under it than others. I don't know if
- 17:39Speaker 4: I've ever seen someone throw a deep ball as far
- 17:42Speaker 4: on a line as Josh Allen.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:45Speaker 4: And I think that's where it's a little bit different
- 17:47Speaker 4: in terms of arm strength, because I think a lot
- 17:49Speaker 4: of people just look and they say, well, Brady just
- 17:52Speaker 4: dropped that in the bucket, you know, sixty yards downfield. Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 4: he's got good enough arm to throw the ball sixty
- 18:00Speaker 4: It's like everybody else. But there's a difference between like
- 18:04Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers deep ball and Josh Allen's deep ball and
- 18:08Speaker 4: most others.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't worry Ray's armstrangth.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I don't worry about it at all, and I certainly
- 18:14Speaker 4: wouldn't worry about it with Joe Milton because I think
- 18:16Speaker 4: he can throw it as well as anything.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Joe Millen's got a rare arm strength, but I
- 18:20Speaker 2: wouldn't worry about it at all. With Drake May. I
- 18:23Speaker 2: think the biggest thing with him is tying his feet
- 18:25Speaker 2: to his arm, right, like, he is getting his footwork
- 18:28Speaker 2: and his mechanics and his biomechanics tied together so that
- 18:33Speaker 2: he's not all armed. I think sometimes he throws he
- 18:35Speaker 2: relies too much on just his pure arm strength. If
- 18:38Speaker 2: he can get it.
- 18:39Speaker 3: That was Cam Newton, I mean.
- 18:40Speaker 2: For sometimes Yeah, if he can get this arm, if
- 18:43Speaker 2: he can get his feet and all of it tied together,
- 18:46Speaker 2: then his his arm strength is going to be more
- 18:49Speaker 2: than adequate.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Chad from Schenectadyst. Schenectady Right, So, I'm already sick of
- 18:54Speaker 3: the fixed Drake May wording being used by the media
- 18:57Speaker 3: and fans. The guy's not broken. He's twenty one years
- 19:00Speaker 3: old with two years of college starting experience in a
- 19:02Speaker 3: system with different quarterback play.
- 19:05Speaker 4: So I'm wait, I'm in favor of that.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we've been saying that the whole time.
- 19:10Speaker 4: He needs developing.
- 19:11Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Yeah, like no one comes in as a finished product. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 4: like he needs to develop.
- 19:16Speaker 3: But I guess maybe fix he's saying is the wrong word.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I would say refined, Yeah, refine improve.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, look, I think there's a lot of
- 19:25Speaker 2: different things that go into quarterback mechanics, and I normally
- 19:28Speaker 2: we whittle it down to footwork, and that's like the
- 19:30Speaker 2: biggest one.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I wanted to ask you guys about that because you
- 19:33Speaker 4: both were there to watch the practice, Like what did
- 19:36Speaker 4: you see in terms of footwork or Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I mean they were doing everything at a very slow pace,
- 19:41Speaker 2: so it's hard to right. So right now, I think
- 19:43Speaker 2: what they're they're trying to develop those good habits, Like
- 19:45Speaker 2: we're going to do it the right way, slow at
- 19:48Speaker 2: maybe fifty percent, and then we're gonna we'll ramp it
- 19:50Speaker 2: up to sixty five, seventy five, eighty five, nine to
- 19:53Speaker 2: one hundred at some point. And I think that's sort
- 19:56Speaker 2: of the goal. But I wrote about this in the
- 19:59Speaker 2: mail bag today and kind of explain the differences. But
- 20:02Speaker 2: you know, Alex van Pelt is a left foot forward
- 20:05Speaker 2: quarterback guru, like he believes in shotgun right. So in
- 20:09Speaker 2: shotgun you have your left foot staggered in front of
- 20:12Speaker 2: your right foot, whereas you know, Patrick Mahomes puts his
- 20:15Speaker 2: right foot forward, Tom Brady put his left foot forward,
- 20:18Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers put his left foot forward.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Joe Burrow is absolutely parallel.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Peyton Manning. Also, Payton Manning the Sheriff was a square
- 20:27Speaker 2: stand sky, So everybody has a different way of doing it.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Alex van Pelt believes in left foot forward because as
- 20:34Speaker 2: a righty, you're gonna have that extra step, and that
- 20:37Speaker 2: extra step creates rhythm and it creates fluidity in the drop,
- 20:41Speaker 2: whereas with the right foot forward you're just kind of,
- 20:43Speaker 2: you know, it's it's a little bit more robotic. And
- 20:46Speaker 2: so I think the biggest thing to me is that
- 20:49Speaker 2: that would really help Drake May because I think the
- 20:51Speaker 2: biggest issue he has is rhythm with his feet, not
- 20:54Speaker 2: that he can't move his feet, but it just doesn't
- 20:56Speaker 2: sync up with the routes and with the timing of
- 20:58Speaker 2: the drop and all that kind of stuff. So I
- 21:01Speaker 2: actually think that the game plan here for Van Pelt,
- 21:04Speaker 2: which is just what he's done with all of his quarterbacks.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Going back to Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield, you know, all
- 21:09Speaker 2: those guys left foot forward, I think could help Drake
- 21:12Speaker 2: May a lot. So that's what you know. Drake may
- 21:14Speaker 2: talked about after the practice was that, well, first of all,
- 21:17Speaker 2: he's got to learn under center, which is like completely
- 21:20Speaker 2: foreign to all these college quarterbacks.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Now, well that's my one question. Did you see him
- 21:24Speaker 4: take oh many snaps under center? And how did it look?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, fine for what they were doing. Yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 2: but yes, that's he had one pass attempt in college
- 21:36Speaker 2: from under center.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Now, these guys come out of college with zero and
- 21:40Speaker 4: I used to laugh at that, but the more time
- 21:42Speaker 4: has gone by and these guys are never under center. Now,
- 21:45Speaker 4: they're never under centered in high school.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, like yeah, yeah, I.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Think it's legitimately something that they have to develop.
- 21:53Speaker 7: Yeah, And I think going back to that email, like
- 21:55Speaker 7: Josh Allen did not come into the NFL playing the
- 21:58Speaker 7: way he is right now, I'm got a wyoming He
- 22:00Speaker 7: had a lot of refining to.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Do too right, but people didn't say he needed to
- 22:04Speaker 4: be fixed, right. I think he's taken the offense to
- 22:06Speaker 4: the word fixed. Yeah, Yeah, he wants to know had
- 22:10Speaker 4: a long way, Yeah, for sure.
- 22:12Speaker 3: He also wants to know, do we see the thread
- 22:13Speaker 3: going around comparing May and Daniels throwing. I haven't not.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, So there's like there's a Jade and Daniels. Uh,
- 22:21Speaker 2: there's a there's a video of Jaden and Daniels throwing
- 22:26Speaker 2: a deeper ball like down the field thing is like
- 22:28Speaker 2: kind of like a seam throw, And there's a video
- 22:30Speaker 2: of Drake May and Jaden Daniels' release looks a lot quicker,
- 22:35Speaker 2: you know, it looks a lot faster in the video,
- 22:39Speaker 2: which I think coming in we knew that that was
- 22:42Speaker 2: the thing. Anyways, Like Jaden Daniels has a much more
- 22:44Speaker 2: refined mechanical chain and his release is much quicker right
- 22:47Speaker 2: now than Drake May's. But I would also just say
- 22:50Speaker 2: that Drake May was throwing like a five yard out
- 22:53Speaker 2: and Jaden Daniels was was throwing a deep ball, and
- 22:56Speaker 2: so like the velocity that they were both trying to
- 22:58Speaker 2: generate on the ball with significant different it looked like
- 23:01Speaker 2: Jadon Daniels was adam more full pace in the drill
- 23:05Speaker 2: than Drake May was being told to run it at
- 23:07Speaker 2: It wasn't in apples to apples comparison. Yeah, so there's that.
- 23:14Speaker 2: There's that element too, well.
- 23:16Speaker 3: So that was rookie Minnie Camp. Also, the Patriots announced
- 23:19Speaker 3: a few days ago that Elliott Wolf is indeed going
- 23:23Speaker 3: to be the executive vice president of player Personnel. Did
- 23:27Speaker 3: I get that right?
- 23:28Speaker 2: Executive vice president of player Personnel?
- 23:30Speaker 4: Yes?
- 23:30Speaker 3: Okay, so I did get that right? Yes, Okay. Thoughts reaction,
- 23:35Speaker 3: I think we all knew that was probably gonna happen,
- 23:38Speaker 3: but yep, yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 7: I also, why not give him the title of GM?
- 23:43Speaker 3: Well, no one's ever had that here.
- 23:46Speaker 2: We don't do that around here.
- 23:47Speaker 4: But why, I don't know. I think we don't have
- 23:49Speaker 4: to go look at the history of but why. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 4: there's gotta be a reason. Yeah, I just don't know
- 23:55Speaker 4: what it is. The responsibilities are the same, right, like, yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 4: well this guy has way more responsibility than any of
- 24:00Speaker 4: their vice presidents of a player person Yeah.
- 24:03Speaker 6: Under, he's more managing.
- 24:05Speaker 4: Generally, he's generally managing. He's got control of the fifty
- 24:07Speaker 4: three man roster.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he does.
- 24:09Speaker 4: But to me, a Gmjoe Belichick had controlled the fifty
- 24:11Speaker 4: three man roster, not Nick Casio.
- 24:13Speaker 3: To me, a GM, though, was in charge of every
- 24:16Speaker 3: aspect of the operation. So not that they are in
- 24:19Speaker 3: the weeds with everything, but like everything from what bus
- 24:22Speaker 3: line are we going to be renting on game day?
- 24:24Speaker 3: You know, like the GM is the final say on everything,
- 24:28Speaker 3: not just football but operations and business too. Yeah, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 3: and maybe that's why maybe the Crafts want to retain
- 24:35Speaker 3: some of the business part of it themselves. I don't know.
- 24:39Speaker 6: I mean, that makes as much sense as anything to me.
- 24:40Speaker 6: I mean, I don't don't really know what it matters.
- 24:43Speaker 6: I mean, it all seems like football is on Ellie Wolf,
- 24:45Speaker 6: and I mean, just my personal opinion, I think I
- 24:48Speaker 6: think it's a great choice. I think he's a great
- 24:49Speaker 6: fine you know, He's you know, what you loved about
- 24:52Speaker 6: Bill Belichick when he got here was like the thing
- 24:54Speaker 6: that like he was trained from, like you know, since
- 24:56Speaker 6: he was like in the womb to like watch film,
- 24:58Speaker 6: you know, and so Ellie Wolf has all that kind
- 25:01Speaker 6: of pedigree, and you know, I liked that he was
- 25:03Speaker 6: here for a couple of years and he learned under
- 25:05Speaker 6: Bill and he kind of saw how things were being done.
- 25:07Speaker 6: And you know, I've compared it to in the past,
- 25:09Speaker 6: to what Ron Wolf did in Green Bay where they
- 25:11Speaker 6: hired him. I think in like November, they had fired
- 25:13Speaker 6: their GM, so they brought him in. He had a
- 25:14Speaker 6: couple of months just to observe and to see how
- 25:16Speaker 6: things were done. And I think Elliott's had that chance.
- 25:19Speaker 6: And you know, if not him, who you know. So
- 25:21Speaker 6: I think it's a it's a good fit and you know,
- 25:23Speaker 6: a good start to the draft. And now it's it's
- 25:26Speaker 6: all on him, so we'll see. I'm just glad that's
- 25:27Speaker 6: out of the way. Now we can kind of move
- 25:28Speaker 6: on and you know, just folks coming in hot. Yeah, no, sorry,
- 25:32Speaker 6: Britain schooler got me.
- 25:32Speaker 4: All fired up.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more with you.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Penalty on the way.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Ron Wolf, Ted Thompson, Bill Belichick are his two three
- 25:41Speaker 2: biggest influences, and I can't really think of anybody else
- 25:45Speaker 2: better to mentor somebody than those three guys.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I don't think anyone would have any issue with Wolf
- 25:51Speaker 4: himself being in the role. I would have a question
- 25:54Speaker 4: of the division of power, like why they chose to
- 25:59Speaker 4: give him more power than Mayo.
- 26:02Speaker 7: I also wonder if he's going to make any staff
- 26:04Speaker 7: changes or if he's gonna keep everything that everything the same,
- 26:07Speaker 7: because if you want to make changes, you want to
- 26:09Speaker 7: do it now before you really get into the think
- 26:11Speaker 7: of like scouting again.
- 26:12Speaker 6: So I mean I would just say to that, Paul, though,
- 26:14Speaker 6: you know, it's I mean, it's a really interesting point.
- 26:16Speaker 4: You know, Mayo hasn't done anything though.
- 26:18Speaker 6: You know, so, I mean, it's it's it's interesting that.
- 26:19Speaker 6: I mean not to say that Wolf has done a ton,
- 26:21Speaker 6: but he's been around a lot longer on the game
- 26:23Speaker 6: in the NFL than.
- 26:24Speaker 4: But it's never done office. They've both never done what
- 26:26Speaker 4: they're doing right now.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Sure, but Mayo hasn't done anything though.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Well. I mean I would say that if if you
- 26:33Speaker 3: if you count being in training for what they're doing,
- 26:37Speaker 3: Wolf has more years in training.
- 26:39Speaker 2: To do, not even close.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Sure, he's had a job more than Mayo's had a
- 26:44Speaker 4: job down. I just think it's interesting. I think it
- 26:47Speaker 4: sets up potential conflict unless this is something that Gerard
- 26:51Speaker 4: was really Paul, did you hear it going, Yeah, I
- 26:55Speaker 4: don't think that works.
- 26:56Speaker 6: But I do think that Mayo said, look, we're going
- 26:59Speaker 6: to disagree. I mean, I think they both have been
- 27:00Speaker 6: upfront about like it's been pretty good so far. But
- 27:03Speaker 6: you know, and sometimes I think that's where you find
- 27:05Speaker 6: the magic.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Happening, you know.
- 27:06Speaker 6: I mean, you really have to argue over something and
- 27:08Speaker 6: state your case and then you find you know what
- 27:10Speaker 6: what the what? The most passionate person tends to win,
- 27:12Speaker 6: So I you know, it's like anything. I don't know
- 27:14Speaker 6: how it's all going to work out, but I think
- 27:16Speaker 6: they picked good guys, and so far it seems okay
- 27:18Speaker 6: to me.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I just I think it it opens the door
- 27:22Speaker 4: for conflict with when things aren't going well on the field,
- 27:28Speaker 4: the guy who's not on the field is saying, well,
- 27:31Speaker 4: the players are there. I know this because I picked them.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Isn't that The coach says, yeah, we're not winning, but
- 27:42Speaker 4: I don't have the horses.
- 27:43Speaker 3: But isn't that the way, Well number one guy has
- 27:49Speaker 3: control of that.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Well that's kind of the Bill Walsh thing, which was
- 27:51Speaker 6: saying exactly what Paul is saying, is that, you know,
- 27:54Speaker 6: this is the the Usually the GM is the kind
- 27:56Speaker 6: of person that's sidled up to the owner and being like,
- 27:58Speaker 6: I don't know, I got on the players, you know,
- 27:59Speaker 6: And and the coach is saying, you know, I'm settled
- 28:03Speaker 6: up to you, mister owner, but I can only do
- 28:06Speaker 6: so much with the guys he's given me, I don't
- 28:07Speaker 6: have control.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Over when things go bad, people start, you know, playing
- 28:11Speaker 3: the blame game.
- 28:13Speaker 4: But Bill didn't have anybody to blame.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Right, That's that was different. But I think most places
- 28:18Speaker 3: are like we are now.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Yeah, no, most places. Andy Reid has control.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Of his roster, but we don't have Andy Reid.
- 28:24Speaker 7: No.
- 28:24Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying like to just to say most
- 28:26Speaker 4: most heat most coaches don't have control and run. I
- 28:30Speaker 4: think most coaches have control of their roster. I don't
- 28:33Speaker 4: have it all on paper to tell you, but that's
- 28:35Speaker 4: how I feel around the league. John Harbaugh, Kyle Shanninghan,
- 28:38Speaker 4: these guys, they all collaborate, you know. Sean McVay has
- 28:42Speaker 4: control of his roster. I think this is not a
- 28:45Speaker 4: unique thing to have control of who actually makes the team.
- 28:49Speaker 2: But I have the resume of those guys, and I
- 28:52Speaker 2: just feel like Elliott wolf who's been my assistant, to
- 28:55Speaker 2: make a run.
- 28:55Speaker 4: And control of who makes the Texans, not Nick Casio.
- 28:58Speaker 4: But I don't know that for sure.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I don't about that. But director of player Personnel assistant
- 29:03Speaker 2: general manager in Cleveland, like Elliott Wolfe has has experience
- 29:07Speaker 2: like he's not only not mentioning the fact that at
- 29:10Speaker 2: eleven years old, he's at the combine with his father
- 29:12Speaker 2: with a Stopwatch we see.
- 29:14Speaker 4: I just I worry, that's all. I'm not worried about
- 29:17Speaker 4: Wolf not knowing what he's doing. That's not my concern.
- 29:20Speaker 4: I think Wolf is qualified for the position that he
- 29:23Speaker 4: just officially got. I think he's more than qualified.
- 29:26Speaker 6: Yeah, it's the stress point of this relationship. See, if
- 29:29Speaker 6: it doesn't start.
- 29:30Speaker 4: You know, it's easy to say Fred and I are
- 29:32Speaker 4: going to disagree. We've disagreed a lot for twenty five dollars.
- 29:35Speaker 4: But what happens when we actually disagree? Is it an
- 29:39Speaker 4: important disagreement that we can't move through?
- 29:41Speaker 3: Right?
- 29:41Speaker 4: We've never really had one of those. I don't know
- 29:44Speaker 4: what it's going to be like with Gerard and Nellie
- 29:45Speaker 4: when they actually disagree.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah. No, Like, like you said, who makes the team?
- 29:51Speaker 6: Right?
- 29:51Speaker 4: And it's not like to Evan's point, I think Wolf
- 29:55Speaker 4: is a fine higher I'm really I kind of didn't
- 29:58Speaker 4: think they had any options. Yeah, you know, I think
- 30:01Speaker 4: that he was the guy, and he's more than more
- 30:03Speaker 4: than deserving of that promotion in my view.
- 30:06Speaker 2: No, I hear what you're saying. I just I guess
- 30:08Speaker 2: if somebody had to have control. Someone has to have
- 30:11Speaker 2: control right of the roster. And I'd rather give it
- 30:14Speaker 2: to the guy that with the more experience, with the
- 30:16Speaker 2: bigger resume than give it to the linebackers coach that
- 30:19Speaker 2: we just promoted to be the head.
- 30:20Speaker 6: That told you he doesn't know what's going on offense.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I'm just maybe, but but I just I think the
- 30:30Speaker 2: main thing is is just to me, is that is
- 30:33Speaker 2: like Elliott Wolf is qualified for this position. I don't
- 30:37Speaker 2: know if Mayo is qualified to like run a football
- 30:39Speaker 2: operations right now. So for Mayo to be the head
- 30:43Speaker 2: coach and just coach, like you just coach the team,
- 30:46Speaker 2: like here's the players, you just coach them, and I'm
- 30:49Speaker 2: gonna do everything else. And I think to Fred's point
- 30:52Speaker 2: about why not general manager, I think that Elliott Wolf
- 30:57Speaker 2: is control in control of the football personnel. Every single
- 31:00Speaker 2: player that walks through that door is coming from Elliott
- 31:03Speaker 2: Wolf on down. The branding, the marketing, the what buses
- 31:08Speaker 2: were taking when we're on the road, all that stuff
- 31:11Speaker 2: I think is running through Jonathan Craft.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Mike, but does I mean I spoke?
- 31:17Speaker 3: Michael Charlotte writes, if Wolf is vice president, who was president.
- 31:22Speaker 6: I just mentioned his name as an executive vice president though,
- 31:25Speaker 6: so oh my.
- 31:26Speaker 4: God, is like, is Eric Tacosta the Ravens GM. I
- 31:32Speaker 4: don't know his title, but yeah, I mean I think like,
- 31:34Speaker 4: is Eric Tacosta talking about travel?
- 31:37Speaker 7: No?
- 31:37Speaker 4: No, he's picking players? Yeah, yeah, like that's what the
- 31:40Speaker 4: general manager does.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I hear you. I I just think that there's a
- 31:43Speaker 2: little bit more, you know, like a John Lynch for example,
- 31:46Speaker 2: Like he has a little bit more of that, like
- 31:49Speaker 2: this is his operation with Kyle Shanahan and there. It's
- 31:52Speaker 2: like they're the faces of the forty nine ers right now. Yeah,
- 31:54Speaker 2: And I think that maybe for now, you know, it's
- 31:58Speaker 2: the Crafts are supposed to be kind of the faces,
- 32:01Speaker 2: you know, like the royal family, right. But the one
- 32:04Speaker 2: that's really pulling the strings on the football side of
- 32:06Speaker 2: things is Elliott.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Let's see what's sir Alex and Mount Holly? Why the
- 32:13Speaker 3: Patriots don't name a GM? And a roast comment and
- 32:16Speaker 3: chirping zebras at work today so can't listen live, but
- 32:21Speaker 3: was catching up on my Patriots Unfiltered and have few comments.
- 32:24Speaker 3: One the Tom Brady roast was closure I need and
- 32:26Speaker 3: I would watch that ten times over the Apple docu
- 32:29Speaker 3: series The Roast Itself took meaning Patriots Unfiltered to a
- 32:33Speaker 3: whole new level. Two. I have trouble with sleeping at
- 32:36Speaker 3: night and sometimes play podcast slash music at night along
- 32:39Speaker 3: with The Patriots Unfiltered. The one other podcast I listened
- 32:42Speaker 3: to is none other than Chirping Zebra. Right, Let's go.
- 32:45Speaker 3: And lastly, I think I cracked the code. And why
- 32:48Speaker 3: the Patriots don't specifically name someone GM, it's because executive
- 32:53Speaker 3: vice president of player Personnel sounds more fancy than general manager,
- 32:58Speaker 3: which is a title you get. I had a local
- 33:01Speaker 3: Chick fil A that was tongue in cheek just in
- 33:03Speaker 3: case Fred Butcher's the delivery.
- 33:06Speaker 6: It is funny with like I remember when I when
- 33:08Speaker 6: I was living in LA one of my first intern
- 33:11Speaker 6: jobs was at Fox. It was actually in the Nakatomi
- 33:13Speaker 6: Closet building that's the Fox building, and I remember I.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Had to do a job.
- 33:16Speaker 6: But it was like I saw this book that was like,
- 33:18Speaker 6: if you're a vice president, this is what couch you
- 33:20Speaker 6: can get, and this is your credenza and this is oh,
- 33:22Speaker 6: you're an executive vice person now you can get this
- 33:25Speaker 6: credenza and like you know it was like this whole
- 33:27Speaker 6: like hierarchy of what furniture you were allowed to buy.
- 33:30Speaker 4: So I'm sure executive vice.
- 33:31Speaker 6: President he must be, you know, pulling him in. But
- 33:33Speaker 6: then the president, you know, what does the president get?
- 33:34Speaker 4: I just struck me.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Where is his office?
- 33:36Speaker 4: Elliott? Yeah, I don't know.
- 33:38Speaker 6: I've walked through football once and I was like blinders on,
- 33:42Speaker 6: like trying not to look around. You know, it was
- 33:45Speaker 6: like walking through like an episode of The West Wing,
- 33:47Speaker 6: like people busy walking through, yeah, talking background music, walking
- 33:54Speaker 6: walk a little walking, talks going on, and I'm just like,
- 33:56Speaker 6: you know, it's like during COVID when we was Aaron
- 33:58Speaker 6: Sorkin like a right, yeah, it was that was that
- 34:02Speaker 6: was pretty cool for a moment, and you know, it's
- 34:04Speaker 6: just it's funny because we're upstairs and you never realized
- 34:06Speaker 6: that just like there's it's just a beehive of activity
- 34:08Speaker 6: down there of people, you know, meetings and you know,
- 34:11Speaker 6: you know it's going on. But I think once you
- 34:12Speaker 6: kind of look at it, you're like, oh my god, this.
- 34:14Speaker 6: You know, guys have talked about how intense it is
- 34:16Speaker 6: down there, not that I could see how intense it
- 34:18Speaker 6: actually was.
- 34:19Speaker 4: But like it was just a lot going on. Yep, yep, okay,
- 34:22Speaker 4: anybody want to know what Mapoo and Schooler?
- 34:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, why fascinating Why I got Schooler for you now?
- 34:28Speaker 6: It was, you know, just a couple of interesting nuggets
- 34:29Speaker 6: and I, you know, to Paul's kind of your your
- 34:32Speaker 6: your point's you know, what do you want to work
- 34:33Speaker 6: on this year?
- 34:34Speaker 4: And he said, you know, losing.
- 34:35Speaker 6: Slater off the field, but obviously he's still coach. Just
- 34:38Speaker 6: said he was always so level headed and I'm very
- 34:40Speaker 6: emotional and I get wrapped up in things, so you know,
- 34:42Speaker 6: this year and year three, school was saying he really
- 34:44Speaker 6: wants to.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Try to embody more of that later. Yeah, I mean
- 34:47Speaker 4: that's you know, kind of reading between the lines.
- 34:48Speaker 6: But he said the big thing was trying to be
- 34:50Speaker 6: a leader, trying to be steady and and you know
- 34:52Speaker 6: maybe not quite so, uh you know, up and down
- 34:56Speaker 6: and then uh, you know, Mapoo was funny and these
- 34:58Speaker 6: interviews a funny map because everyone's always like we're gonna
- 35:00Speaker 6: find out today if he's playing linebackers safety guys, like
- 35:03Speaker 6: we're gonna drill down, we're gonna get you, and you know,
- 35:04Speaker 6: and he kind of plays it like it's like this
- 35:06Speaker 6: is like our second day of OTAs with the rookie,
- 35:08Speaker 6: so we haven't really done much of that, but but
- 35:10Speaker 6: it was interesting that, you know, you could just tell
- 35:13Speaker 6: he was talking about how much more complex the playbook
- 35:16Speaker 6: was in college and that like in the pros and that,
- 35:19Speaker 6: you know, he said, I could play multiple positions at
- 35:20Speaker 6: Sacramento State.
- 35:22Speaker 4: I'm sorry he had.
- 35:22Speaker 6: The way he put it was I could play one
- 35:24Speaker 6: position really well and I could play in multiple different spots,
- 35:27Speaker 6: and here you have to play multiple positions.
- 35:30Speaker 4: And he's like, does that make sense? And I'm like,
- 35:31Speaker 4: not entirely, but I think so.
- 35:34Speaker 6: So you know, he's just talking really about trying to
- 35:36Speaker 6: get back into into playing, and you know, we talked
- 35:38Speaker 6: about the communication that happens. He's like, look, anyone can
- 35:41Speaker 6: go up on the board and talk ball, but then
- 35:42Speaker 6: all of a sudden, you've got a guy in motion
- 35:44Speaker 6: and you got five seconds to communicate with three players.
- 35:47Speaker 7: You know.
- 35:47Speaker 6: So he was just illustrating a little bit, you know,
- 35:50Speaker 6: how much of kind of a leap it was in
- 35:51Speaker 6: the playbook and also being healthy now, which is a
- 35:54Speaker 6: good thing. Last point though, was they said, oh, what
- 35:56Speaker 6: did you think when when Kyle came back and he's
- 35:57Speaker 6: like who and he goes Douggar and he's like.
- 36:01Speaker 4: I've never heard anyone call him Kyle before in my life.
- 36:04Speaker 3: He's like Doug.
- 36:07Speaker 4: The first name, right, Who's Kyle. We just went up
- 36:12Speaker 4: and it was kind of a funny one. But he's
- 36:14Speaker 4: definitely one of my serious football guys. I used to
- 36:17Speaker 4: like when Bill would do that every once in a while,
- 36:20Speaker 4: Kyle Doug king Dog.
- 36:25Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, so good, you know, a little check in
- 36:28Speaker 6: with with those boys.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:29Speaker 2: I've talked a lot of football with Mapu and he
- 36:32Speaker 2: he definitely was like a whiteboard genius, you know. He
- 36:35Speaker 2: was definitely somebody like I could tell that could get
- 36:37Speaker 2: up there and and knock it out of the park
- 36:39Speaker 2: to you know, run him through the playbook or whatever.
- 36:41Speaker 2: But we were talking about this earlier Brettan school or
- 36:44Speaker 2: like the last of the Mexicans of the coverage ass
- 36:47Speaker 2: you know, the special teams coverage ases and my depth
- 36:50Speaker 2: chart and non deuces that we got one guy and
- 36:52Speaker 2: it's Brendan Schooler that used to be like we specialists.
- 36:56Speaker 4: In Schooler and sly so for specialists, but I mean
- 37:00Speaker 4: like making the final yeah, assuming that they're not going.
- 37:02Speaker 2: To get Slater assuming.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Yeah, boy, it really is in the world up ball.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Yeah, usually I have, like, on a fifty three man projection,
- 37:09Speaker 4: I'll have like six, you know, three specialists and at
- 37:12Speaker 4: least three guys. Yeah, I mean all they do is specialty.
- 37:15Speaker 2: On the ninety man roster, there would be sometimes like
- 37:18Speaker 2: ten guys that were really they're kind of here to
- 37:21Speaker 2: cover kicks, you know, and like maybe they make the roster,
- 37:23Speaker 2: maybe they don't, but you know, they're they're gonna make
- 37:26Speaker 2: the roster by covering kicks.
- 37:27Speaker 6: One more interesting thing was that they asked Schooler a
- 37:29Speaker 6: couple of questions about the new kickoff, and his brother
- 37:31Speaker 6: actually played in the XFL last year, so he's played
- 37:33Speaker 6: under these rules. He didn't give a ton of insight,
- 37:35Speaker 6: but he did say it's a lot more on a
- 37:38Speaker 6: phone booth. It's not so much running down full speed.
- 37:40Speaker 6: It's you gotta be tight and be able to get
- 37:43Speaker 6: off of blocks, like the blocks.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's just it looks like just a kind
- 37:47Speaker 4: of a glorified running player.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how the body
- 37:51Speaker 2: types change. You know, you're probably gonna have more block eaters,
- 37:56Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, it's like the von godcha going to
- 37:59Speaker 2: be out there point of attacking and I.
- 38:01Speaker 6: Know that, Like, I know, kickoff plays exist and you try,
- 38:03Speaker 6: but like do you think there might almost be like
- 38:06Speaker 6: play like more plays now or you've got guys kind
- 38:09Speaker 6: of pulling and I really trying to find a hole?
- 38:11Speaker 3: Yeah? I have questions like like a running play, like
- 38:13Speaker 3: are there rules as to how you can line up
- 38:16Speaker 3: as as the kicking team initially yes, like do you
- 38:20Speaker 3: have to line up in a regular formation?
- 38:22Speaker 4: Tight?
- 38:22Speaker 3: Or can you are you spread out across the field?
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I think there's rules about like how many people
- 38:27Speaker 2: have to be on each side of the ball and stuff.
- 38:28Speaker 4: I think you have that now. I think you can
- 38:30Speaker 4: be tight, but I think you still need to have
- 38:33Speaker 4: five on either side of the ball.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Ok.
- 38:34Speaker 2: But to do his point, I definitely think that there's
- 38:36Speaker 2: going to be schemes like blocking schemes of back this
- 38:41Speaker 2: guy and we're going to kick.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Out here, and Bagatto was still in the league, we'd
- 38:44Speaker 3: have one guy.
- 38:45Speaker 4: On the side, everybody else on the other too soon
- 38:47Speaker 4: to great point, it's a great point. Some guys would
- 38:51Speaker 4: lose their minds with some stuff like coach, how long
- 38:54Speaker 4: are we going here?
- 38:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:55Speaker 4: I know what they'll never expect. You're right.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Oh, yes, So the other thing we want to talk
- 39:03Speaker 3: about is schedule release. So we know a few games.
- 39:06Speaker 3: We know Thursday night, the Thursday night opener will be
- 39:09Speaker 3: the Bills in the docks, okay, Patriots. No, no, we
- 39:13Speaker 3: don't know, no, we know nothing from the Wait a minute,
- 39:16Speaker 3: so what is that Thursday night?
- 39:18Speaker 4: The kickoff?
- 39:19Speaker 3: Kickoff race the.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Banner, it's Kansas City, right, yeah, it's yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Now Bill's Dolphins this week too?
- 39:24Speaker 3: Oh week two Thursday night.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Oh sorry, I didn't know anything about the Bills Dolphins.
- 39:28Speaker 4: That's why I gave you I wasn't trying to. I
- 39:30Speaker 4: wasn't doing. It's Baltimore at Kansas City September eight, fifth Thursday,
- 39:38Speaker 4: and then.
- 39:39Speaker 3: And then the second Thursday is Bill's Miami. Okay, we
- 39:42Speaker 3: know Friday night. First week is Packers Eagles from Brazil.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Bill's at Miami. Week three, September Miami or is it
- 39:49Speaker 6: in Buffalo?
- 39:50Speaker 2: Week two? Is it looks like it's in Miami. I
- 39:53Speaker 2: think this is Bill's verse Dolphins, but Dolphins are so.
- 39:57Speaker 4: The NFL put that out there.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's not. These are not leaks. These are actual.
- 40:02Speaker 3: Announcements Monday Night Football. The first one is Jets in
- 40:05Speaker 3: San Francisco.
- 40:07Speaker 6: I like that one.
- 40:07Speaker 4: I like that one, but I like it because it's
- 40:09Speaker 4: the Jets start one one. I like it, and it
- 40:12Speaker 4: kind of tweaked Sarah Rodgers a little bit, you know,
- 40:13Speaker 4: like the tweeks wanted to go.
- 40:14Speaker 7: To and yeah, and also like last year it was
- 40:18Speaker 7: a Monday night game as well.
- 40:19Speaker 2: He is it going to runt out with the American
- 40:21Speaker 2: flag again?
- 40:24Speaker 3: Any other any other announcements?
- 40:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Cowboys at Browns and that's Brady's first first game
- 40:32Speaker 2: in the booth.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Brady, because yeah, they had four of the games announced
- 40:38Speaker 4: for Week one, Yeah, officially, Yeah, and then I guess
- 40:42Speaker 4: you add in the secondary Thursday night game with Miami Buffalo.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Correct.
- 40:46Speaker 2: So there's five games that we know of right now.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I think just for Patriots.
- 40:49Speaker 6: I'm just curious as an international thing happening is, you know,
- 40:52Speaker 6: back to back and then those they reportedly wanted to
- 40:55Speaker 6: ask to.
- 40:56Speaker 4: The West Coast, San Francisco, Arizona. I'm not really, there's
- 41:00Speaker 4: not all that much more.
- 41:01Speaker 3: I'm really, well, are we playing on Christmas? There's four
- 41:04Speaker 3: teams that are gonna be playing on Christmas?
- 41:05Speaker 4: Well, yeah, for us Wednesday, and I'm just gonna assume no.
- 41:09Speaker 4: And the last time you got to celebrate her birthday,
- 41:12Speaker 4: Oh my gosh on a Wednesday.
- 41:14Speaker 7: She would be never because in college it was bowl games.
- 41:19Speaker 7: For me.
- 41:20Speaker 3: It's worse said it's a Wednesday than it's Christmas. Like,
- 41:22Speaker 3: are we really going to play a game on Wednesday?
- 41:24Speaker 3: I guess we are.
- 41:25Speaker 7: First of all, I'm gonna be honest with you, guys,
- 41:27Speaker 7: Like before I started working here, I'm not watching a
- 41:30Speaker 7: football game on Christmas.
- 41:31Speaker 3: I couldn't agree with you, not Like if I'm at home,
- 41:35Speaker 3: this is where we part way.
- 41:36Speaker 7: If I'm like Thanksgiving, yes, I will sit down with
- 41:40Speaker 7: my meal and watch watch the game.
- 41:41Speaker 4: The two days different. I never watched the Thanksgiving. There's
- 41:47Speaker 4: other things to do, Like you just, what do you
- 41:49Speaker 4: mean Christmas?
- 41:50Speaker 6: I'm doing?
- 41:51Speaker 4: What is family?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Christmas? Afternoon? Everything's done, Let's watch football.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm kind of eight o'clock open, all the presence,
- 42:00Speaker 6: and I like, now what do we do?
- 42:01Speaker 4: Like God, no, well we were always I'm with Tamara.
- 42:06Speaker 6: I'm not shooting my baby gun in the backyard in
- 42:07Speaker 6: the afternoon like it was when I was a kid,
- 42:09Speaker 6: Like I have no toys to play with, like when.
- 42:10Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, here's another years ago. The Broncos played
- 42:14Speaker 4: on Christmas two years ago. I did not watch one
- 42:16Speaker 4: play of it. And I don't watch the night game
- 42:19Speaker 4: on Thanksgiving. I don't have anything.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Yeah, the night game. It is tough to do.
- 42:23Speaker 3: You even like football. I do, but I like it.
- 42:26Speaker 4: You know me, I'm old school and I'm setting my waist.
- 42:28Speaker 4: I like football when football is supposed to be played.
- 42:30Speaker 6: The West Coast early game on Thanksgiving was great, which
- 42:33Speaker 6: is like nine thirty am, which can because then you're
- 42:35Speaker 6: kind of getting ready for Thanksgiving and then I would
- 42:36Speaker 6: miss kind of the rest of the games in the
- 42:38Speaker 6: West Coast.
- 42:38Speaker 4: But that first game was great.
- 42:39Speaker 6: Because it was just you know, you're getting your food ready,
- 42:42Speaker 6: you're not going anywhere before and we're not going to
- 42:44Speaker 6: Unfortunately the.
- 42:44Speaker 4: High school for me, Fred, they could spread the schedule
- 42:47Speaker 4: out so there was a game, you know, in every window,
- 42:49Speaker 4: every day of the week. I'm just telling you, I
- 42:51Speaker 4: wouldn't watch most of them, but when they're on on Sunday,
- 42:55Speaker 4: if we have like a bye week, I'm glued to
- 42:58Speaker 4: the Red shitt the Red I.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Think, I think other than the fact that it's a Wednesday.
- 43:03Speaker 3: I think Christmas and get you know, Thanksgiving to me.
- 43:07Speaker 3: That's great that this football on. You know, like what
- 43:10Speaker 3: else the hell am I gonna do as well?
- 43:12Speaker 2: I mean, well, Christmas is supposed to be NBA's day.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I stole it from the just so you know. I
- 43:17Speaker 2: don't watch the NBA games on Christmas.
- 43:19Speaker 3: I don't watch them on anything.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Well, but like I do watch the Celtics and they're
- 43:23Speaker 4: almost always on on Christmas and I don't and I
- 43:25Speaker 4: don't watch them if the Celtics.
- 43:27Speaker 2: If the Celtics play on Christmas, I'm watching because I'd
- 43:31Speaker 2: rather spend time with you watching.
- 43:33Speaker 7: The playing games, like playing, but I don't like them,
- 43:39Speaker 7: Like there's other things I would rather be.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Now if the Celtics are playing on Christmas and you
- 43:43Speaker 2: got to watch that, But I feel like that's what
- 43:46Speaker 2: I as a kid, well as a Jew, we were
- 43:48Speaker 2: always at the movies. But if the movies or the Celtics,
- 43:52Speaker 2: like those were the Yeah, those are those are like
- 43:54Speaker 2: the two things that we were doing. You're you know,
- 43:56Speaker 2: watching or at the Celtics game, or we're at the
- 43:58Speaker 2: movies and then go and eat Chinese.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Have you ever been to Golden temple in Brookline, of course,
- 44:02Speaker 3: of course, of course that's like Mecca. Really.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's it's like it's like a temple, like
- 44:07Speaker 2: a Jewish temple, right, yeah, yeah, they're the best.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Hard to get into on Christmas.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well we usually set the bar, which is nice,
- 44:16Speaker 2: you know, get some get some appetizers, you know, nothing crazy.
- 44:20Speaker 3: It's the best, a little pricey, but it's good.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's good.
- 44:24Speaker 3: All right. So that's what we know about.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Uh.
- 44:27Speaker 3: The schedule release and the full schedule release will be
- 44:31Speaker 3: announced tomorrow at eight o'clock on NFL Network.
- 44:36Speaker 7: UH.
- 44:36Speaker 3: And I can say that, you know, it's become sort
- 44:39Speaker 3: of the super Bowl of social media in the league,
- 44:43Speaker 3: and all the teams kind of you know compete in
- 44:45Speaker 3: a fun way of like who can be the cleverest
- 44:47Speaker 3: and have the most interesting video or whatever they do
- 44:52Speaker 3: to and you know, celebrate the announcements schedule, and I
- 44:54Speaker 3: can say that we've got something pretty cool going on.
- 44:56Speaker 4: I think so, yeah, I think so.
- 44:58Speaker 6: A lot of credit to uh Alexandra Francisco is one
- 45:01Speaker 6: of the big.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I thought you're going to credit me.
- 45:04Speaker 6: No, no, I don't want to get I'm not going
- 45:06Speaker 6: to get anything away I just want to say that
- 45:08Speaker 6: if the Chargers do like an opening where they're like
- 45:11Speaker 6: year three of anime, screw it, let's do it, and
- 45:14Speaker 6: then it's just another anime thing, I want to be
- 45:15Speaker 6: I'm curious if the Charges continue to beat the anime.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the pressure's on that value.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Yeah, come on something a little funnier.
- 45:21Speaker 7: I'm curious if someone's going to come out with something
- 45:24Speaker 7: more like organic like what the Titans did last year,
- 45:27Speaker 7: where it was like not saying they didn't have a
- 45:29Speaker 7: lot of effort into it, but like just being out
- 45:32Speaker 7: on the streets of Nashville and doing well.
- 45:33Speaker 3: The funny thing about that that wasn't their main thing.
- 45:36Speaker 3: That was like a byproduct and it did better than
- 45:38Speaker 3: their main thing.
- 45:39Speaker 7: So I'm wondering if someone saw that and was like, Okay,
- 45:41Speaker 7: we're going to do something.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Like right like we did with any Atoms.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Yeah, like A I wonder if AI is going to
- 45:48Speaker 4: be involved in somebody.
- 45:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:51Speaker 6: I also was wondering do you think that the league
- 45:53Speaker 6: will use AI to make the schedule or if they're
- 45:55Speaker 6: not already, But that doesn't that seem like a prime
- 45:57Speaker 6: AI thing.
- 45:58Speaker 3: I do know that from the way they used to
- 46:00Speaker 3: do it. It is more computerized now and it takes
- 46:03Speaker 3: like a tenth of the time that it took. The
- 46:06Speaker 3: guy that would sit in I forget his name. It
- 46:09Speaker 3: was legendary, the guy that would come up with the schedule.
- 46:12Speaker 3: But now, like all these venues, is so much more
- 46:15Speaker 3: complicated in terms of the other events that they have.
- 46:18Speaker 3: It's so much harder to just.
- 46:19Speaker 6: Seems like Champions chpt you know, like no games back
- 46:22Speaker 6: to back, like this guy's got to have a Wednesday game.
- 46:24Speaker 4: They need some rest, you know, type in all the commands,
- 46:26Speaker 4: but you got to.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Feed in like if MESSI was coming in September that,
- 46:30Speaker 3: you know, like.
- 46:31Speaker 4: A lot of variables.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:34Speaker 2: At the TD Garden, there's all sorts of like conflicts
- 46:37Speaker 2: now because the Bruins and the Celtics are still going.
- 46:40Speaker 2: And I think it was like a Tim McGraw concert
- 46:42Speaker 2: or something like that was supposed to be one night
- 46:45Speaker 2: and they have to be Friday, and they moved it
- 46:47Speaker 2: to a way, Yeah, because the Bruins needed the right Yeah.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:51Speaker 6: Do you guys see the Drake May and Jalen Polk
- 46:53Speaker 6: at the Bruins game.
- 46:54Speaker 4: That's pretty fun.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I haven't seen it yet. They wired them up. Yeah.
- 46:57Speaker 6: I felt like we were just having a meeting, like
- 46:58Speaker 6: we should do that, and then the Bruins just at it.
- 47:00Speaker 4: But it was it was funny there.
- 47:02Speaker 6: It's just I mean, I don't know how much experience
- 47:04Speaker 6: they have with hockey, but it's it's always just funny
- 47:06Speaker 6: watching the reaction to these guys and they were talking
- 47:08Speaker 6: to him. Part of it was like do you think
- 47:10Speaker 6: may was like, do you think it's harder to score
- 47:12Speaker 6: a goal or get a touchdown? And JP is like,
- 47:14Speaker 6: I think I think score a goal, like you know,
- 47:16Speaker 6: touchdownds pretty easy, Like he was talking about touchdowns.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Like no prob. I was at a Bruins game sitting
- 47:21Speaker 3: next to a former Patriots lineman who will go unnamed,
- 47:25Speaker 3: and we're watching and somebody hit the post and the
- 47:27Speaker 3: line of says, isn't that a goal?
- 47:29Speaker 4: I'm like, no, No, it's gonna go in that Eugene
- 47:32Speaker 4: Chunk the same era. Yeah, I want.
- 47:36Speaker 7: I want to get Drake Maye to a Celtics game.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's the one I've been waiting for too,
- 47:41Speaker 2: because his family is huge basketball family at North Carolina
- 47:44Speaker 2: and his brother.
- 47:45Speaker 7: And his brother played against Jason Tatum so we can
- 47:47Speaker 7: get a swap funny uh elite.
- 47:51Speaker 2: They think that Drake may could have been on the
- 47:52Speaker 2: UNC basketball team if he wanted to be. They wanted
- 47:56Speaker 2: him to play come off their bench as like a
- 47:59Speaker 2: six man type of thing. Ah, but you wanted to
- 48:01Speaker 2: focus on football, so you didn't end up playing.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I wonder what the odds were that on that. But

- 49:39Speaker 6: Let's hear what head coach Gerardmeo had to say at
- 49:41Speaker 6: Rookie Mini Caamp this weekend.
- 49:44Speaker 9: You want a short T shirt and all weather Yeah,
- 49:47Speaker 9: you know, honestly, I thought it was gonna be a
- 49:49Speaker 9: little warmer out here. I like hoodies at the same
- 49:51Speaker 9: time trying to like do my own thing without the
- 49:54Speaker 9: hoodie and now I'm just gonna freeze my my butt off.
- 49:58Speaker 4: allR I'm ready. What do your did you accomplished yesterday,
- 50:01Speaker 4: What are you trying.
- 50:02Speaker 3: To accomplish it today?
- 50:03Speaker 9: Yeah, I think first and foremost, yesterday was more of
- 50:05Speaker 9: an evaluation day to see how these guys are s
- 50:07Speaker 9: uh physically and also mentally.
- 50:09Speaker 7: Uh.
- 50:10Speaker 9: Today we'll you know, we'll have a little bit more
- 50:12Speaker 9: uh as far as competitive drills, you know, still following
- 50:15Speaker 9: the rules, but it'd be good to see those guys,
- 50:17Speaker 9: you know, actually going out there and playing football.
- 50:19Speaker 7: Is there anyone that really impressed to you that first.
- 50:21Speaker 9: Say, uh, like stood out to you, you know, honestly,
- 50:24Speaker 9: like you know, we have twenty try out guys here
- 50:27Speaker 9: as well, and so there are a lot of guys
- 50:29Speaker 9: that you know, they came out here and and look
- 50:31Speaker 9: good and shorts and T shirts. But you I, I
- 50:33Speaker 9: think the thing we have to remember is is football.
- 50:35Speaker 9: So there have been a lot of shorts and T
- 50:37Speaker 9: shirt all stars that never really touched the field. And
- 50:39Speaker 9: we have to wait and see til we get the
- 50:41Speaker 9: pass 'em dr.
- 50:43Speaker 7: Dre Uh.
- 50:45Speaker 9: Early impression with to Drake, Look, I mean he has
- 50:47Speaker 9: a lot to work on. Here's a lot to work on,
- 50:49Speaker 9: but I have no doubt that he'll put the time in.
- 50:52Speaker 9: So you know, I know, you guys saw him out well, y,
- 50:54Speaker 9: you didn't see him out here yesterday, but you know
- 50:56Speaker 9: he was here all night trying to get you know,
- 50:58Speaker 9: on the same page as everyone else.
- 50:59Speaker 4: So, Dred, what comes to Drake?
- 51:00Speaker 3: What type of work are you guys doing with him, you.
- 51:03Speaker 6: Know, not on the practice field to try to get
- 51:04Speaker 6: him up his speed when it comes to the playbook
- 51:06Speaker 6: in the offense.
- 51:07Speaker 9: Yeah, it just comes down to time. I mean that's
- 51:08Speaker 9: the biggest that's the biggest hurdle. And then you know,
- 51:11Speaker 9: you work under some of these phase two, phase three
- 51:13Speaker 9: rules where you don't have as much time as you
- 51:15Speaker 9: want to, so you can't have those conversations. But look,
- 51:18Speaker 9: it's all about I mean hard work works. We talk
- 51:20Speaker 9: about it all the time, and he's, uh, he's working hard.
- 51:23Speaker 9: So day one is kind of hard. It's kind of
- 51:24Speaker 9: hard to really say, you know, this guy did xcell.
- 51:27Speaker 4: And s is you're a primary person who will be
- 51:29Speaker 4: like kind of in the year of Drake excuse me?
- 51:31Speaker 3: And Joe?
- 51:32Speaker 4: Is it TC McCartney, Is it all?
- 51:34Speaker 9: Yeah, that's a great question.
- 51:35Speaker 3: I would say.
- 51:36Speaker 9: You know, across the league, most offensive coordinators, they they
- 51:40Speaker 9: interact with the quarterback, the starting quarterback for the most part.
- 51:43Speaker 9: You know, we do have a group of coaches that
- 51:44Speaker 9: have quarterback backgrounds. But I would say overall, be a
- 51:47Speaker 9: VP as far as that that's what he got with Drake.
- 51:49Speaker 9: But I mean with with all of what with Drake,
- 51:52Speaker 9: with Jakoby, and you don't know the starters, that's right,
- 51:54Speaker 9: we don't know who the starter is, so AVP would
- 51:57Speaker 9: be in all those go ahead, Another follow on just
- 52:00Speaker 9: to make sure going.
- 52:01Speaker 10: Off that, how would you describe the division of Laver
- 52:04Speaker 10: with the coaching staff in terms of develop developing Drake
- 52:07Speaker 10: and like his individual development, it's like running the office.
- 52:09Speaker 9: No, that's a great question. You know, there has to
- 52:11Speaker 9: be balanced there. You don't want Drake hearing too many voices.
- 52:14Speaker 9: And once again that's why I'm saying, you know, a
- 52:16Speaker 9: VP will be the lead guy as far as that communication.
- 52:21Speaker 4: You guys are you can work on in the conference.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Uh, just over the course of the midicampus. The playbook
- 52:26Speaker 2: able to be a part of that equation there, Like,
- 52:28Speaker 2: are these guys studying day one?
- 52:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 52:30Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean they're studying the plays that we're gonna
- 52:32Speaker 9: run during the season, and you know, you want to
- 52:34Speaker 9: see if these guys can take what they pick up
- 52:37Speaker 9: in the in the classroom in the classroom and see
- 52:40Speaker 9: if they can apply it on the field.
- 52:41Speaker 11: So you lout regarding that relationship between a v P
- 52:44Speaker 11: and the quarterbacks, how much of that is due to
- 52:47Speaker 11: what you've learned about multiple voices and a quarterbacks you're
- 52:50Speaker 11: having one guy that's talking to him as opposed to
- 52:53Speaker 11: hearing from different people.
- 52:55Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, I just honestly, that's my own life,
- 52:57Speaker 9: you know. So you know, you hear all these voices.
- 52:59Speaker 9: You have to have a small circle that you really
- 53:01Speaker 9: can talk to and trust. And I think avp's in
- 53:04Speaker 9: that circle. I know avp's in that circle with Drake
- 53:06Speaker 9: and the rest of these the quarterbacks.
- 53:08Speaker 12: Have you seen much change with you in terms of
- 53:11Speaker 12: how you attack a practice? Like you know, formerly a
- 53:14Speaker 12: linebackers coach, you know what what's gonna change with you
- 53:19Speaker 12: in a regular practice?
- 53:20Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 53:20Speaker 9: You know, honestly, I've been over with the offense more
- 53:22Speaker 9: than I have with the defense. And that just goes
- 53:24Speaker 9: back to continuing to grow and continue to learn. Like
- 53:27Speaker 9: I sit in those offensive meetings as well, and I'm
- 53:29Speaker 9: learning right alongside those guys. And you know, as far
- 53:32Speaker 9: as practice, is con is concerned. I'm gonna bounce around offense, defense,
- 53:36Speaker 9: special teams. I mean, they all play a huge part
- 53:39Speaker 9: in winning football games. But that's the benefit of having
- 53:41Speaker 9: a bigger staff. For a larger staff, you know, I'm
- 53:43Speaker 9: able to do that. How did you describe by NACATWS role,
- 53:46Speaker 9: what would be his primary domain?
- 53:47Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 53:47Speaker 9: But you know ben Is, you know, has tremendous experience.
- 53:51Speaker 9: He's coached every position on the offense side of the ball.
- 53:53Speaker 9: So he was one of those catch off players just
- 53:55Speaker 9: in case as we started to build out the coaching staff.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Uh, he has.
- 53:58Speaker 9: He has a great history, great background. He also helps
- 54:01Speaker 9: me with some of the you know, the scheduling stuff,
- 54:03Speaker 9: almost like an assistant head coach type of role there.
- 54:07Speaker 9: But I do have a small circle of people I
- 54:09Speaker 9: lean on as far as that's concern rookie quarterbacks.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Are they both on the same developmental schedule you've development
- 54:16Speaker 2: them simultaneously or do you do like separate things.
- 54:19Speaker 9: Now you have to do it together, you know, when
- 54:20Speaker 9: you wanted to be a fair competition, especially when we
- 54:22Speaker 9: started doing offense versus defense. And look, once again, we
- 54:26Speaker 9: have we have a lot of coaches here that know
- 54:28Speaker 9: the position. And so those guys, you know, after the
- 54:31Speaker 9: allotted time, they have to take it on their own
- 54:33Speaker 9: to go out there and get better. So that's where
- 54:35Speaker 9: you really start to see separations. Those guys that do
- 54:38Speaker 9: a little bit extra.
- 54:41Speaker 7: I have.
- 54:41Speaker 9: I've seen Joe don Ball, Like, right, double dutch, you
- 54:44Speaker 9: read to jump in you don't even know double No,
- 54:46Speaker 9: you don't jump double du A song for double Dutch?
- 54:53Speaker 7: What is it?
- 54:54Speaker 6: It's like a no, it's.
- 55:01Speaker 4: Baker express the high level of self confidence.
- 55:04Speaker 3: This is great.
- 55:05Speaker 4: I'm sure you want that, but is there a point
- 55:06Speaker 4: in which you say that's terrific If you don't want,
- 55:08Speaker 4: let's have a little lesson.
- 55:09Speaker 9: Yeah, honestly, Like for me, I want these guys to
- 55:12Speaker 9: have a personality. I want them to feel free to
- 55:14Speaker 9: talk about certain things. Look, we'll have rules of what
- 55:16Speaker 9: to talk about. But now, once he puts it out there,
- 55:19Speaker 9: he has to show it every day out here on
- 55:20Speaker 9: the football field. If not, he's just a talker, and
- 55:23Speaker 9: then you start to lose the respect of the locker
- 55:25Speaker 9: room and and things like that. So well, he said it,
- 55:27Speaker 9: you put it out there.
- 55:28Speaker 4: Now you got to show us.
- 55:30Speaker 6: The team is interviewing for this executive VP of player personnel.
- 55:35Speaker 10: I'm curious just how does that tie into you? How
- 55:37Speaker 10: important is that now for me? For me, it's really
- 55:40Speaker 10: just been about a rookie minute camp. And I hate
- 55:42Speaker 10: to give you that answer, but like, we have guys
- 55:44Speaker 10: here that are gonna be on our team, and so
- 55:47Speaker 10: I've just really been.
- 55:48Speaker 9: Focusing on that. Yeah, I think quorking out that Matthew
- 55:51Speaker 9: Slater is gonna be on your staff.
- 55:52Speaker 4: Can you just talk about what rule go?
- 55:54Speaker 9: Yeah, Slat is on the staff and I'm happy about that.
- 55:57Speaker 9: You know, we came in together in two thousand and eight.
- 55:58Speaker 9: Whoever would have thought And I always joke with him,
- 56:01Speaker 9: like when we were in that room rookie mini camp,
- 56:03Speaker 9: if he that he would have a gold jacket one day,
- 56:05Speaker 9: and hopefully he does get that gold jacket. But he is, uh,
- 56:08Speaker 9: he's an advisor for me, you know, all things football
- 56:11Speaker 9: and and honestly the things off the field. He's a
- 56:13Speaker 9: very smart individual and I would say we see most
- 56:15Speaker 9: things the same way and and at the same time,
- 56:18Speaker 9: I know he's a guy that would be honest with me.
- 56:19Speaker 9: You know, once you put the head coach hat on,
- 56:21Speaker 9: it's hard to find people who are honest with you
- 56:23Speaker 9: can you have together, we get double that together, no
- 56:26Speaker 9: doubt too, Like, yeah, that's part of it, that's part
- 56:30Speaker 9: of it. But once again I would say he's just
- 56:33Speaker 9: one of my advisors.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Is just kind of feeling like if camp for you and.
- 56:39Speaker 9: Your way, Yeah, honestly, Yeah, it feels great. It feels
- 56:42Speaker 9: great to get on the Like the first day I
- 56:44Speaker 9: was out on the field with the guys, that was
- 56:45Speaker 9: like that aha moment.
- 56:46Speaker 7: Uh.
- 56:46Speaker 9: Everyone was asking me, you know, how does it feel?
- 56:49Speaker 9: It felt regular to me to be inside. But as
- 56:51Speaker 9: soon as I came out here and was able to
- 56:52Speaker 9: like talk to different positions, that was like that aha moment.
- 56:56Speaker 7: Did you watch the Tom Brady Ros Nah? You know what?
- 57:00Speaker 9: That's a fit? Okay, So I watch. So I started
- 57:03Speaker 9: off watching it. I'm gonna be honest, like we wanna
- 57:05Speaker 9: have transparency and honesty. I started off watching it and
- 57:08Speaker 9: then I was like, I gotta I'm gonna change the chance.
- 57:13Speaker 12: Huh.
- 57:13Speaker 9: It was it was too much for me, but it
- 57:16Speaker 9: is what it is.
- 57:18Speaker 7: You have to go back and out.
- 57:20Speaker 9: No, I'm not, I'm not watching it. I haven't watched
- 57:22Speaker 9: the Dynasty, I haven't watched the whole rows. I'm just
- 57:24Speaker 9: focused on what I have to do. I think you
- 57:26Speaker 9: guys would be nice to me if we win games.
- 57:28Speaker 9: Not watching Netflix more questions? Big, Uh, there are a few,
- 57:35Speaker 9: you know. And look once again, like this is another
- 57:37Speaker 9: day to add into it. You can't just take one
- 57:39Speaker 9: day and say, you know, this guy showed out. I
- 57:41Speaker 9: know that's the the the hot thing to do.
- 57:43Speaker 7: Uh.
- 57:43Speaker 9: At the same time, you know, we'll we'll do a
- 57:45Speaker 9: lot here today and you guys will get a chance
- 57:47Speaker 9: to see these guys as well. So uh, asking me
- 57:49Speaker 9: that next.
- 57:50Speaker 3: Time we tell you what do you look for from
- 57:51Speaker 3: most tryout guys?
- 57:53Speaker 7: Uh?
- 57:53Speaker 9: Honestly, it's about movement skills. It's an evaluation, right, So
- 57:57Speaker 9: it's about movement skills. It's about what they can pick
- 57:59Speaker 9: up in the classroom. How these guys learn, how they
- 58:01Speaker 9: can help our team going forward.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Thanks, thanks for sure, and now great moments in.
- 58:11Speaker 3: History having you know, elongated postgame show.
- 58:14Speaker 6: Yeah, sure, what's the four hour? I mean, Hardy, we're
- 58:16Speaker 6: not gonna let him go.
- 58:17Speaker 4: We don't just keep it going, lock Hardy in the studio.
- 58:19Speaker 4: We should just keep going.
- 58:20Speaker 3: We should say tell Hardy that Fred said, you know,
- 58:23Speaker 3: tell him this in the pregame show, Fred said that
- 58:26Speaker 3: because it's your last post game, he wants to do
- 58:28Speaker 3: four hours.
- 58:29Speaker 4: And if you owe him to potential for it to
- 58:31Speaker 4: be Bill's last game, you know we wanted to.
- 58:34Speaker 6: How about he's got to make up the hour that
- 58:36Speaker 6: he ditched on Christmas. Ever, like, we need to make
- 58:38Speaker 6: that up because I'm not paying your full rate.
- 58:39Speaker 4: You don't give me an extra hour? Now, Now, do
- 58:42Speaker 4: you want me to wait till you get here?
- 58:43Speaker 7: No?
- 58:44Speaker 3: You know, you just say it. I'll try to watch
- 58:46Speaker 3: and get okay, oh yeah, you'll be here, Fred, So
- 58:48Speaker 3: you because you'll react differently if I'm not.
- 58:50Speaker 4: I'll say, oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, like
- 58:52Speaker 4: during the previos, right.
- 58:53Speaker 6: Fred will be like, no, no, that's what we're doing.
- 58:55Speaker 4: We gotta we got to go longer. But I'm not
- 58:58Speaker 4: gonna be able to carry that through. He's gonna he's
- 59:00Speaker 4: gonna die.
- 59:02Speaker 3: That's another great moment, all right. Welcome back to Patriots Unfiltered,
- 59:09Speaker 3: Easy to drink, easy to enjoy, bud Light, the official
- 59:12Speaker 3: beer sponsor of the New England Patriots. There you go,
- 59:17Speaker 3: talk about Tom Kerrn. He had a take on may
- 59:21Speaker 3: Uh Andrew and El in Louisiana. I think or it
- 59:24Speaker 3: might be la. I'm not sure. Uh, Kerran was pretty
- 59:27Speaker 3: vocal in his desire to not draft May and trade
- 59:30Speaker 3: down and take Penix. I'm not accusing him of bias,
- 59:33Speaker 3: but there might be a bit of trolling involved.
- 59:37Speaker 4: It's interesting.
- 59:38Speaker 6: Uh yeah, So I think you guys played it off air,
- 59:42Speaker 6: but did you talk about it already.
- 59:43Speaker 4: On air that we did turn Someone wrote in that
- 59:46Speaker 4: Curran had mentioned that he that Milton was more accurate
- 59:49Speaker 4: than May, and that kind of reencountered to what was.
- 59:52Speaker 6: There of you who were all at well? Was there
- 59:54Speaker 6: any context to that or just generally speaking?
- 59:58Speaker 2: Yeah, That's why I didn't really say much about it
- 59:59Speaker 2: because I I didn't hear what Current.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: Said, So I who knows podcasts when someone relays something
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: that someone said, it often is not relayed properly.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: But here's the thing about Current. Back in two thousand
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: and one, he was in the Brady camp way before
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: a lot of people.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: Yeah he was, he was, but after Brady played. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: it wasn't before Brady played. It was after Brady.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Nobody was in the Brads.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: A lot of people were in a lot of people
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: were in the Brady camp back replayed right way o'
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: Thomas ahead of the curve on that one was he Oh,
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: I would say that that's accurate. Well, he Fulgar in
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: current were ahead of the curve that Brady should not
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: only keep the job until Drew comes back, but even
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: after Drew comes back. They were ahead of the curve
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: on that.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: How much? How much of that was Bill telling them
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: that in all? Seriously, because I know him and Felger were,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: It's a great question. I knowing what I know about Feler,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: I would say it was probably more to do with
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: just that it runs counter to what everybody else is saying.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: I don't know if he was like that twenty five
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: years ago, but well, that makes sense.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: He kind of was. Yeah, but you make a good
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: point that Bill might have been saying, listen.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: You know this guy's better this guy, this guy runs out,
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: this guy.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Runs the offense better than Drew does.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see lots of emails coming in. I want
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: to thank everyone, Daniel says. I hate, hate, hate the
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: idea of a scheduled mid season start for May. I
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: don't want to see us in a scenario like Miami
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: with Tua and Fitzpatrick. I believe the better plan would
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: be to plan for him to sit the ear and
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: we wait for Bissett to get hurt. His injury history
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: precedes him. I believe we would get a chance to
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: see May eventually, even though I don't wish injury upon Jacoby.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Just seems like there is a risk in the hot
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: in the hoff In half out strategy for starting May
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: this year. What are your thoughts on when the organization
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: should aim to start Drake seems like it will play
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: out organically and not the scheduled mid season start being
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: talked about by some media Barthtender in particular.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, I don't think any but I don't
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: know what Alex is saying. But current I bet you
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: I have no idea what to listen to him all
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: the time. Yeah, than you heard last night before you
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: I love you too from somebody else.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: That's not a pillow.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: I would say the biggest thing that is it is organic.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Like no one's saying like we are going to say
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: on October twenty four that Drake May is gonna know
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: it's when he's ready, he's gonna play like I would.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: I don't want to get bogged into the semantics, but
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: I would say that I agree, Like, it's not a
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: scheduled start, it's I think most people feel like after
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: half a season or so, he should be ready to
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: play in a game. I don't, and you this guy
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: might have more information than I do. With the Dolphins,
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: maybe they decided before the season, before camp that two
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: was not going to play until X date, and that
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: was the date that he played. I don't think it
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: worked out that way. I don't think that's how it went.
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: I think Fitzpatrick played until Tua was ready, and when
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: Tua was ready, he took over. And oh, by the way,
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: what was wrong with their plan? It worked as he
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: played better than Fitzpatrick. They won more games with Tua
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: than they did with Fitzpatrick. You know it's the tall No,
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: it's it's like you automatically because Tua was sort of
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: in and out in that last half of the season,
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: because he had some struggles out in San Francisco. I
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: can remember, you know specifically one game that means you
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: botched it. No, Like they didn't really care that much
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: about the here and now as much as they did
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: about Tooa's development. And I think you could argue that
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: they did well by him. I think he's developed. Well,
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: h it's just the injuries there, right.
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: I feel like Mac was organic, Like they didn't know
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: he was going to do as well as he did
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: during camp in the preseason. Like, I feel like, did
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: they intend to start him over Cam Newton right away
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: when they drafted him.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: I couldn't agree more. Yeah, I don't think they made
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: that decision the day they drafted him. I'm totally with Tamara.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: They they watched it through training camp. I think, you know,
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: Cam missing time with COVID didn't help him.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, and they changed.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: But no, I think Tamara's right. I don't think that
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: they drafted him and then they said that day he's
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: going to start Week one.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: No, but it was a pair. I think in their
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: mind they like, we thought, if it's close, we're going
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: to start Mac.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Yeah. I think that's what we kind of talked about, Eric,
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: you talk about ahead of the curve. Eric was like,
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: not only that Max should start, but that they should
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: cut Cam. Yeah. I don't even know it's exactly what
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: they did.
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: He was the first person I was excited to tell
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: him they Cam.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: In hindsight, like, was it even really that close between
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Max and Cam. I think it was until COVID. Well
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: he I think they were very similar until COVID. So
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Cam Cam got he went out of the protocol, right yeah, COVID. Yeah,
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: and then he had a couple.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: Had to set out practices with the giants. Yeah, right,
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: and that's what I think Mac took off.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I I don't think it's like I said,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: it's not. This day is going to be the day
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: that we turned the keys over to Drake May. I
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: think the one thing with the schedule, as it relates
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: to the schedule is when is the bye week, because
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: then you can take the bye week to get some
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: extra practices in, as with Drake May with the ones
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: and all that kind of stuff. And that's what they
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: did with Tua in Miami to a took over in
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: week eight in Miami, which is right after their week
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: seven boy. Yeah.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: But then again, even that's fluid. If Jacoby Brissett is
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: six and one and you get the buyeh, are you
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: taking Jacoby Prisett.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: Out is May ready?
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Yeah? I would you would, even though for set six
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: and one.
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's what the Dolphins did and it
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: wasn't six and one, but they had a winning record
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: with they didn't have Jacob kid. I know they had
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: a better journeyman.
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: I mean, I think you paint a difficult picture then
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: that you know, that's why it's a good example, but
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: I think you know it's it's the reality of it,
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: in my eyes, is probably not going to be that complicated.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: It's right, you're not going to know. I get it.
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: But then if you get to the end of the
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: year and Jacoby Pressett's been playing the whole year, you
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: just you.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: Kind of felt like you burned another year a little bit.
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: I would say, I I, you do run the risk,
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: and Fred's right, and obviously you know they're six and one.
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: Now you run the risk of veterans being upset that
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: you're making a move. But if you're if you're six
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: and one because of Jacoby Brissett, then you're not going
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: to probably not going to make them. That's hard to
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: but it's hard to imagine that there's six and one
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: because of the quarterbacks, just like lifting the team, you know.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: And that wasn't the case with Miami either, but they weren't.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: I think they might have been like five and four
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: or four and three or something like that.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: But even back then weren't there people in the Fitzpatrick camp.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: Yes, that Miami got killed for it.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think they were running there in their
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: locker room a little bit too, like it was. It
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: wasn't a universally loved decision.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: They got a lot of a lot of criticisms.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: And he was a little passive aggressive Fitzpatrick And oh,
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: I'm a team guy.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: But like yeahah, and then he ended up like playing,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: playing and actually starting another game.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: He did because I missed a game. Yeah, I think
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: I want to say, a Raiders game late in the
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: year that they needed to win and he and he
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: won it. Yeah, I know, dude, what year are we
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: talking about?
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Twenty twenty?
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: There weren't even fans, Like, of all the seasons I
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: blocked out, probably twenty.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: The only reason why I even know it remotely well
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: is because I've looked this up to relate it to
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Drake May.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: He knows that just off the top of his Well,
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: how do you.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: Guys feel about the other rookies though, Like, I mean,
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: you know, everyone wants to say, when does Drake May ready?
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: You know, how do you feel about the rookie receivers
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: being ready? Or jahean Bell being ready, or the two
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: rookie offensive linemen who I just thought were awesome dudes.
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: I enjoyed hearing from them. Listen to those two guys talk.
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: They they sounded like a lot of fun. You know,
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: are they on similar kind of clocks or you know,
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: are we at a point now where I know the.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: Quarterback is different.
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: It's very important, but you know, why are we waiting
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: if you really feel like Kayden Wallace is going to
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: be the left tackle, you know, like I just put
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: him out there right, like.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: I don't know better than the other guy.
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, but even if it's you, now, if
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: it's like this and you're like, well, with a little
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: he's gonna go, you know, he'll quickly.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: Surpass that guy. Yeah, I would play him.
- 1:08:15Speaker 7: I could see Wallace playing just because like how many
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: snaps He's already coming in here with his a lot
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: of experience. Obviously he'd be switching sides, so that could
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: play into it. But if he if we're going to
- 1:08:24Speaker 7: pick one offensive oneman to potentially start, I could see.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: Him doing it.
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: And I think Robinson probably has a chance to be
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: in that mix because I don't know where Cole Strange
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: is going to be fitting and I.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Don't know where is going to be.
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: But but I mean all of those guys I put Mafi,
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: I put so Strange, Jake Andrews to a lesser extent,
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: they're all going to be in that mix. If Robinson
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: is the better option, play them, it's it's it's really
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: interesting to me.
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: We spent so much time this saf season talking about
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: the three big needs this offseason quarterback, wide receiver, tackle,
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: and at all three of.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Those position groups. I just noticed they've really thrown a
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: lot at the wall.
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: I mean even you know, Joe Milton's even part of that,
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: like I you know, but there's a ton I mean,
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: they just signed another one of these tryout guards again,
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: so I think there's it's something crazy like eighteen offensive
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: lineman right now. We talked about how many wide receivers
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: there are as well, So just interesting. I really think
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: they're trying their best to kind of carry that thing
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: over from Bill competition competition.
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: What do we know about the physical physical status of
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: the offensive lineman Beyond Strange, is anybody else.
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: He's out with. I think he's the only He's the
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: only because that does no I mean, I know Tyron
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: Wheatley was out for a while.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: But I think that's a high number back for a
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: ninety man roster. It is, I mean there's a lot.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: It's unless you'd think that you're going to have four
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: or five with those guys not available.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: I don't think it's a super high number for the
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: ninety man roster. Like usually they're somewhere around like sixteen fifteen, sixteen, right, But.
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: It's always when you know, like how many times have
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: we gone out there and we're like, well, look this
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: is this is the first offensive line there using well, yeah,
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: that's because Trent Brown's not available, and yeah, this guy's
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: not David Andrews is available.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: I mean he also doesn't know that this time of year,
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: you know, when you get into the like that's what
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: I'm right, if you're participating, who's going to even be
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: here for you know, some of these guys they.
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: Know now will not be available.
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Calvin Anderson, you know, kid malaria but but but wait, no,
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: that but he's just an injured guy.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: But didn't he he came back and played, Yeah.
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: But then he went back out and then he was out.
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: I don't think they had him at the end of
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: the year.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: No, no, no, but okay, I didn't think that was
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: related to the sickness.
- 1:10:35Speaker 6: But that was the heart. The heart that bruise got
- 1:10:38Speaker 6: punched in the chest. That was the second part of
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: the chest.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: Well that was part of the Chris Price story, was
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: that he got malaria.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Of recover take your word for it.
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: And then he got hit in the chest and uh
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: and had like heart problems.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: So it was it was, it was he might not
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: be at all. I mean the Chris Price place makes
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: it sound like he can't play, but you know he was.
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: I mean, you just asked people that were dealing with
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: stuff that we're in, so he was.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: I'll potentially put him as a second because I think
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: Strange is not going to be available right away.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: I agree that.
- 1:11:05Speaker 6: No, I think he's still signs even with the nick
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: Leverick guy that they signed from Tampa's the one that
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: experience No, I mean no, but but just another sign
- 1:11:14Speaker 6: of not only signing veterans, but undrafted rookies drafting another rookie.
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: I mean, the three guys from last year.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: It's I just don't think that they they trust any
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: of the guys.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: That they have there.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: No, I think that's the bigger issue besides maybe City, Yeah,
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: you know City. So I don't think that they really
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: trust Strange Mafi the left tackle. Generally Jake Andrews is
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: a center. I think in everybody's eyes, like he's not
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: a guard.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: I just don't think that they trust these other guys.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: And I will see what happens with Strange's injury too,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: but I think there's a really good chance that Landen
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Robinson wins that job just outright, you know, is the
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: best guard for the job.
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: After those signings though yesterday, which they you know, signed
- 1:11:53Speaker 6: four guys, including one j no not ja person, Jotham Russell,
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: who is Australian.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: So he has it.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: So they're ninety one now.
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: But right you know, thirteen u DFAs, eight draft picks
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: on path player twenty one rookies. It's it's a good influx.
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: It just you know, I think it's it's what this
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: team needed, especially at those positions. But there are big questions.
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: Is that how's it all going to play out? I mean,
- 1:12:13Speaker 6: there's some good players, probably a wide receiver that have
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: played NFL snaps. They are probably gonna get cut from
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: this team, even though it's a huge need for the team.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you also just wonder, like Kendrick Bourne kJ Osborne,
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: at what point do the coaches look at them and say, hey,
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: you know, Jalen Polk, it's his time, you know, like
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: he's thirty seventh overall pick, he's better than you, he's
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: younger than you. Like, we got to play the kid.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: And a guy like Kendrick Born comes back on a
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: pretty decent contract, and now you're kind of telling him, well,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: you know, Jalen Polk's gonna play Z and you're gonna
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: play bench. You know, Like it's just like that's a
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: little bit of a difficult thing there too. In that
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: receiver room, I'd say is like those two guys Osborne
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: and Bourne were signed as free agents, brought back in
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Bouren's case, and then they draft two guys to kind
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: of play a little bit like both those guys, Like
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: there's a little bit of overlap there for sure.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Uh, let's say Floyd and Michigan. Mister says, please tell
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: Gerard Mayo, don't single out Drake may Did any of
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: the coaches from Chicago, Washington and Minnesota say their quarterbacks.
- 1:13:11Speaker 6: Have a lot to work on?
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: People got so worried up about it.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: I can't believe he was asked about it specifically.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: If Gerard Mayo is gonna say that Drake May has
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: a lot to work on, he should have added all
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: our players and coaches have a lot to work on.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Don't allow the media to single Drake out. One of
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: the reasons I'm rooting for him is because I'm tired
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: of the endless criticism he receives.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Drake May.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: Is he getting endless criticism?
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: I mean, I'm just hearing about some of it today
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: for the first time from some Yeah, he does.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: In the in the draft process, he was definitely the
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: one that got told.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Carolina people no.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: But there were pro and anti Drake. I mean, it
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: was the same with all the quarterbacks. But you know,
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: some guys liked panic some guys like me, some guys
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: like Daniels. But the ones that didn't like If you
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: liked Daniels, you didn't like May. If you liked Panics,
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: you didn't like McCarthy. Yeah, you know like that. That
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: was pretty common in the draft, don't you say.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I think Drake May got got most
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: of the heat out of all these guys. I think
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: he got the most. I would say, I agree with
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: Floyd him and maybe JJ McCarthy was close because.
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: Either McCarthy probably got the most.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: You either love or you hate J McCarthy. There's in
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: the same I would say the same thing is true
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: with Drake May whereas with like Caleb and Jayden Daniels,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: you're kind of like, all right, yeah, like I can
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: see it if it works out. You know, whether it
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: works out or not. You know, one has a crystal ball.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: But you could kind of see it with both those
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: guys most people. But I feel like Drake and JJ
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: McCarthy were the two lightning rods.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: So what did you guys think of Chicago? Just come
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: right out end it all like that.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: I like that.
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: I mean that's kind of the straightforward way to do it.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: I mean, it's well, that was the condition of being drafted.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: He said that you have to say that.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: You have to say it. They're gonna have problems now,
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: there's no question.
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: I mean, it's just, you know, he's the top guy.
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: He's been the top guy.
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: I just I didn't have a problem with these comments
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: about Drake, Like it didn't even really register to me.
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: And now I feel like it's been like a firestorm
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: of a rookie, a rookie at his first o TA
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: has a long way to go.
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: As Evan said, he was specifically asked a question was now.
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: Bill would have reflected, he would have said, he would
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: have said everybody has to which you know, maybe would
- 1:15:24Speaker 6: have helped Floyd with with that comment. But you know,
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: it's another kind of example of things here. You kind
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: of people glom onto one little sentence and you know
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: there's not really a lot of context provided, and when
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: you're there in person listening to it, it's like, Yeah,
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: that's exactly what he should say, Like, I mean, he's
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: a rookie, he's no idea what he's doing right now.
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: He's got a long way to go.
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: And even Drake may like agree with that. And he
- 1:15:45Speaker 7: was also asked the same question, like I have a
- 1:15:47Speaker 7: lot to do. That's why I'm here till nine pm.
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: I have a lot to do. I have a lot
- 1:15:51Speaker 7: to learn, I have a lot to take in.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: So, uh, Dylan and Nashville, I'm really appreciative of the
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: content you're producing both on patriots dot Com as well
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: as your social feeds under the new regime. I can't
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: explain why, but something as simple as the helmet fitting
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: videos and TikTok makes it feel like we the fans,
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: are more part of the team than before.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: There you go, like that helmet.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: Secondly, my grammar nitpick. I get miffed when folks say
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: or write, I thought to myself, because it's redundant. You
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: can't think to anyone but yourself. This was drilled into
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: me by my ninth grade English teacher at andover, same
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: as Bill and Ernie, who were uh dwar mates with
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: my uncle. It was irrationally bothered me. It has irrationally
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: bothered me ever since. So there you go. He needed
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: to get that plug that he went to andle for.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: You have no idea of what he's refining.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: I know I was hoping.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: I thought to myself, Oh but yeah, but I thought
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: he was saying like one of us wrote that. Yeah,
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: I don't know which A lot of people say that.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: I heard a lot of people say, I said him.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: I said to myself, that's what I was just gonna say.
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: I said to myself, what the heck are they doing?
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: I said self self, I don't know, but yeah, he's right,
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: that is redundant.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: No, I hear what he's saying, I just thought that
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: there was like an example of right.
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: No, Evan is always saying, I thought to myself, I
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: should break this film down. Yeah.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: No, I mean I get those every once in a while,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: I get the you know, the I'm a high school
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: English teacher and you butchered this.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: Well, you should have been here when former complimentary.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: No, actually I like it. It teaches me things.
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: No, that's no.
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: I mean that complimentary was one where you didn't even
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: I wasn't even aware that there was an eye on
- 1:17:26Speaker 6: any to two versions of it, and you a while ago.
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: At some point, I think, like I said, I think
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: to be amazed that you went to Holy Cross Paul.
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: I didn't know the name of the library till my
- 1:17:36Speaker 6: junior year.
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: Also, and now can you speak Latin?
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: It's funny, Fred, I think I took between high school
- 1:17:42Speaker 6: and college, I took I think three years of Latin.
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: Really, and you should be able to speak to It's
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: a deadline.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: He didn't even you didn't go to journalism school or anything.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: He doesn't know.
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: It's just like college.
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: Ap style is just a complimentary compliment.
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, like.
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: Those little grammars and it doesn't ebod have those little
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: grammar things like not for me, but some like people
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: can't get there there there, they can't keep.
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: That one is I got no problem with that. I'll
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: give you one.
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: It's it's I got no problem with it.
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: It's but complimentary.
- 1:18:10Speaker 7: Gain.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: I'll give you one that I have a hard time
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: is effect an effect. Yeah, effected, and that's a good one.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Effect, that's true.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: I feel like I write that and then I read
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: it again. I'm like, I'm going to change that.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: No, I think I had to write the front I
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: struggle with I'm with you on that one.
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: What A like certain words sometimes even like players names,
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: and it just doesn't look right to you. All of
- 1:18:30Speaker 6: a sudden, I'm like, that doesn't look right, and.
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: Put the names in the dictionary right away. Oh yeah yeah.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: For some reason, Kayden Wallace like a.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: E A I had, so I had to write his
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: draft profile, and I will tell you I had to
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: correct Kayden several times.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: When that's the control, make sure you spelt it right
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: every time.
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: My brain is just I just add him to my
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: dictionary so they don't get the squire. I don't know
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: that stuff. That's such a lot there's nobody at this
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: table that knows like dictionary than me.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: What do you talk?
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: You can vouch for me. There's no one at this
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: table that knows less about computers.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: You don't know how to add stuff to the dictionary
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: on your lap.
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: I get figured out, but I don't. This is why
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: you get complimentary wrong.
- 1:19:20Speaker 6: Well, I use what's that? What's the writing thing?
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: Grammar? I use that, and usually that's all with the
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: NFL in words like if you're just in word, I'm
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: sure I can figure out. It's the editor check.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: Not a part of my.
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: It's not a part of my not a hard concept.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: This is your big J is hanging out right now,
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: swinging your big.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: J's all over the place.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: Don't worry about mine swinging big j.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: This is the keyword of some of this content is notable.
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: That's true that, as is usually the case, I might
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: get an argument I don't work blue.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: I haven't not like, I haven't a large prospects. So
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: mine's more like a cute wow.
- 1:20:02Speaker 13: Get that checked, Fred, you got the cackle from the
- 1:20:06Speaker 13: from the producer both uh A five five pats, five
- 1:20:10Speaker 13: hundred PEPSI in there, By the way, is the Ace
- 1:20:13Speaker 13: ticket houtline.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: Oh boy, Christians in LA. What's up Christian.
- 1:20:20Speaker 7: Guys here?
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: You got a bad connection with Christian. Sorry he's been
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: holding out front.
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: Aut just call back.
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: Call Uh, Danny's in California. What's up, Danny, Danny California.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: It's actually hey, Travis, Travis Parker.
- 1:20:40Speaker 14: I've been listening agency and I have with Paul and dude.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: Okay, you got Hooper to head in and no jobs referencing. Uh,
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: we think I think we've had some minor ones, but
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: Fred doesn't like the constant jobs.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: Deuce, you got to talk about your appearance this right, Yeah,
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: but Hooper drives the boat.
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: There you go, there'll be plenty of it this year.
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: Hooper drives the boat, Chief Hooper.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: Well, Danny, I know you're in California. But Deuce was
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: on a local radio show and they went they went
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: to a Jaws trivia website and started just randomly asking
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: Deuce jows trivia and he was perfect fire for Fox.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: That's not surprising.
- 1:21:28Speaker 6: The one about how many people died, though, there was,
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: that was tough.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: Greater you got it right?
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: Have you been to the Jaws Bridge and.
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we go we go every year.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: It's like we make a point.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: He laid a wreath for the woman that died.
- 1:21:41Speaker 12: Who is that?
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: You guys are right over there that got his leg
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: bitting off?
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: You know, yeah that that leg just comes the guy
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: on the boat. You like that scene? Now, randomness, what happened?
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: All right?
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: Well, I gotta say what happened? I gotta say real quick.
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: Just I'll make this quick trip. I listened to like an.
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: Hour and a half podcast called The Jaws Obsession solely
- 1:22:04Speaker 6: about what really happened in Ben Gardner's boat.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: So that's how freaking jaws nuts. And let me tell you,
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: this is a the deepest of dives.
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: Oh, forensic people for exit examiners like you know, because
- 1:22:14Speaker 6: it's never really explained. Like you know, Cooper goes down
- 1:22:17Speaker 6: and you see this. The body's in the boat. It
- 1:22:19Speaker 6: didn't get eaten by jaws. It's got an eyepopping up.
- 1:22:21Speaker 6: What happened?
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: Check out the podcast to find out, Mike and I.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: Like, I think it was the CIA.
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: It's called The Jaws Obsession and it's on YouTube.
- 1:22:30Speaker 6: And this guy not only did he hire like a
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: boat builder to tell you everything there is to know
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: about Ben Gardner's boat. But they literally had like a
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: forensic guy come in look at the body and be like,
- 1:22:39Speaker 6: what kind of trauma did this guy suffer? And how
- 1:22:41Speaker 6: might it have happened? Like hour and a half that, Yeah,
- 1:22:44Speaker 6: go check it out. If you're a jaws nerd like me.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: All right, Danny, thanks, There's nothing better than the word.
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: Somebody calls in and they're like, I got a bone
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: to pick with Douce and Paul and then it's like
- 1:22:57Speaker 6: a Jaws.
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: When he said he had a bone to pick with me,
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: I was like, oh, what did I do now? And
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: then he said induce. I immediately thought it had to
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: be something like that, yeah, because how could he have
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: a bone to pivot? Both?
- 1:23:08Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: And it's got to be a justing.
- 1:23:09Speaker 6: But did you catch fred On the rest of the show,
- 1:23:11Speaker 6: we were kind of questioning if Hardy would be willing
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: to come back to the postgame and pre postgame show.
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: And we'll find out tomorrow.
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: Sound like that door hasn't been completely closed yet, find
- 1:23:19Speaker 6: out tomorrow has to come back.
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: I told him.
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: I told him that when the schedule comes out, give
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: it a look and look if you think it's doable.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: What's popular ocular if you think it's doable, let's do it.
- 1:23:32Speaker 6: I mean, what if we could even get him for
- 1:23:33Speaker 6: like a ten game set, you know, and then we'll
- 1:23:35Speaker 6: just just figure it out seven.
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: I think you guys will be okay. If he can't
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: do it, that will be.
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: Less fun that I think it'll be all right. Although

- 1:24:23Speaker 4: Hope is on the way.
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: I washed all the cushions.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: That's not the same one.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: I washed all the cushions on my outdoor pressure washer.
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: Do you keep all your outdoor stuff outside all you.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Well, I keep it covered up, but yes, I have
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: covers for it.
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: They stay intact. Oh yeah, keep all because I do
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: have a cover.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: But act on the cushions. I unzipped them. I took
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: them out, and I put the cush the covers in
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: the washing and they came out really nice.
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the next high level side. I'm kind of
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: that's all right.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: And then I put the cushions back on, and I
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: bought the cans of Scotch guard and on them all
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: and so there now weatherproof.
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: And those things are going anywhere. You got those forever, Dad,
- 1:25:05Speaker 6: somewhere right. Oh so fun mowing a lawn mode your
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: own lawns.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: It's pretty Saturday.
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: And then you turn around and you look at you
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: smell it at your work. It's like, I did, I've
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: done good work.
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: Can I just tell you whack her out? It's great
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: Saturday afternoon. I bought I bought a new lawnmower on Friday.
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: But did you come here? I got to didn't come.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: I came so came yesterday. Oh yeah. So I was
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: having people over on Sunday for Mother's Day and I
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: my grass was kind of long. I hadn't cut it yet.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: Guy down the street, Yeah, guy down the street. It
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: promised me it was gonna come. It's now. It's like
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: two o'clock on Saturday. I can't have people at my
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: house like just exactly what Fred just did is exactly
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: how I felt like. I can't have people looking at
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: my lawn like this. So I get home from TJ's
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: game and the guy across the street is just finishing
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: up his lone. I walk over and go, Rick, can
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: I give you fifty? Can I? Can I borrow you?
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Moll Yeah?
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: Absolutely. So he's basically got the same exact model that
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: I just bought, only it's not self propelled. Got a
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: little bit of a workout. I wasn't expecting. He why
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: didn't you use yours? Why did you just use use his?
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: Because I just bought one hasn't come. It doesn't come yet.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: I bought it Friday. I got this new one. You're
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: likedy afternoon, and it came yesterday and I got home
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: from work. It was waiting in my drive ready for
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: or no, no, no no.
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: I kind of like it.
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: And it's exactly what Fred said, like when I do
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: it and everything it's all nice and neat, and I look,
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: you get that, you know the clippings, you can spell it.
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: I did the whole shebang. I did nice level, the trim,
- 1:26:42Speaker 6: and the blow all three which we used to have.
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: We have our people coming, he mos, he blows and
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: he goes. That's but you know, when you do the
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: whole thing. It was an hour and a half. I
- 1:26:53Speaker 6: timed it and like, yeah, that's what. It takes hour
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: and a half to do the whole thing, all three phases,
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: and it looks not I just got to get more.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: Turned very satisfying.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: I never moved the lawn, never have them.
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: Never.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: No, my parents paid somebody.
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: So I have paid someone to do it the last
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: push years, pushy like boys. But I see I pay
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: someone for the spring stuff like the place on the
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: mulch beds and the edging around that. And I still
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: will pay for that because in a professional touch with yes,
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: it's just that it doesn't look it doesn't look as good.
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: But there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: cut your own grass. There's no reason a thirty forty
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: bucks a week to have someone do that.
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: I mean you're not a man.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Well shoveling yes, oh, shoveling, breaking leaves, yes. But for
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: some reason, my dad he didn't want to do it,
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: and he knew that fifty to fifty that he would
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: actually get me to do it, so like, you know,
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: I'm just gonna pay somebody.
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: I've always mowed the lawn.
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: So basically, about an hour after I was done, Freda,
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: the guy texted Beth and he's like, yeah, I went
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: by to do the lawn, but it looks like you're
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: all set, which is save yourself some money or no.
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: I wanted the spring cleaning done. That's what you're supposed
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: to do. And when he does the original spring cleaning,
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: he's gonna cut the grass too. When he's there, Like
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: it takes them like they have the stand up thing,
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: zero turn, Like it takes them literally two minutes to do.
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: My right, people are just obsessed with Tom Curran and
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: his take on Drake May Tom and England. To add
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: further context to his comments, he spent most of his
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: podcasts this week telling us that Joe Milton had the
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: better arm was more accurate and had the most impressive
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: throw of the day. He questioned Drake May directly asking
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: him how he felt about Layman's saying that your footwork sucks,
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: and then went on another podcast yesterday where he said
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: that JJ McCarthy is a better quarterback than Drake May
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: and went into detail about why he thinks. So think
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: the Drake hate train has left the station, with conductor
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: currents selling the tickets.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: Okay, well I take that.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: You know, look, I watched I watched practice, and I'll
- 1:29:06Speaker 6: tell you my opinion. I thought Joe Milton does have
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: an excellent arm. I wasn't totally blown away by Drake
- 1:29:12Speaker 6: May's hand canon, but I thought he made all the throws.
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: He looked very smooth to me.
- 1:29:18Speaker 6: And when it got seven on seven, it wasn't even
- 1:29:20Speaker 6: really close. You saw how far Joe Milton has to go.
- 1:29:23Speaker 6: I mean, he hasn't played a lot, he's got processing
- 1:29:26Speaker 6: issues and you know, and Drake May it was like
- 1:29:28Speaker 6: I think I said it off air, like he went
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: first and it was like, you know, I think a crosser,
- 1:29:33Speaker 6: a couple of hitches on the outside. It wasn't anything,
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: you know, crazy, but it looked just smooth and okay,
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: and then Milton got in and you realize, Wow, there
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: is a lot going on here. And you know, maybe
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: I kind of understood what May did, but.
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:29:45Speaker 6: Drake had a really nice throw too, going away from us,
- 1:29:49Speaker 6: you know, lofted it in.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: I forget what receiver it was.
- 1:29:51Speaker 6: It might have been polked, but but I just think
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: he looked a little more polished to me, you know,
- 1:29:56Speaker 6: and it wasn't.
- 1:29:58Speaker 4: It's not all arm strength, you know. And you can
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: see those three things that Karen said, I mean, one
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: of them is indisputable. Milton has a better run, yeah,
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: he said. He also was more accurate. You guys would
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: disagree with that. That all three of you would disagree
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: with that. And the last one the best throw of
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: the day, Like who cares?
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: Yeah, one play a lot.
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: I think we're putting a lot on rookie mini camps,
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: right and a one hour And the only place.
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: Where that argument can live is during drills, because Joe
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: Milton completed one pass and the like five snaps he
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: had competitively, so if you want to put a microscope
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: on that.
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: But like in seven on seven, he had one incredible
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: throw down the scene that was perfect, and Drake may
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: completed all the other passes, but the one most impressive
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: was that Joe Milton, who cares. I don't know, like
- 1:30:48Speaker 4: who threw the ball better during the course of the practice.
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: We'll see how see how tom Tommy evolves over the
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: course of it. But that's interesting. I mean, like I said,
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: I talked to him at the owner's meetings and I was,
- 1:30:57Speaker 6: you know, and he was already came in hot funny,
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: you know, ran into.
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: Him at the hotel like he was.
- 1:31:02Speaker 6: We were getting food and you know, and he's like,
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: I'm like, I just I just want Drake man, I
- 1:31:05Speaker 6: don't overthink it.
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: And he said, well you trade down.
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: You know, he started giving me the whole thing, and
- 1:31:09Speaker 6: he gave me.
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: The whole rosters not prepared, not suited for a quarterback, but.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: It's suited for Joe Milton, who apparently was the better
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: quarterback on Saturday.
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: It is funny.
- 1:31:19Speaker 6: Did you feel that weird kind of vibe of like
- 1:31:21Speaker 6: it kind of seemed like Cam and Mack a little bit,
- 1:31:23Speaker 6: Like it's just like.
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: I can't blink in my eyes.
- 1:31:24Speaker 6: I'm like, that's not Cam, that's not Mac, that's not Cam.
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: That's not mad.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they still just kind of I just I'm I
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: don't care what Tom Curran said, Like I'm not trying
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: to pick on Tom. I just it's annoying because this
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: is exactly why I didn't want to even go out
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: there on Saturday in the first place, because I knew
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: that that this type of stuff. We watched them make
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: five throws at three fourth quarter speed against a bunch
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: of guys on defense that aren't gonna be on an
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: NFL team almost all tryout guys, right, and we're we're
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: in now, and now we're saying that Joe Milton has
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: the bigger arm and is more accurate, is the better.
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: Quarterback almost like someone worried about that.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: And it's just that's the part that that makes me frustrated,
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: not directly at Tom, just like that this is exactly
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: what I was kind.
- 1:32:09Speaker 6: Of getting those vibes through the drills, But then once
- 1:32:11Speaker 6: we went through seven on seven, I'm like, well, there
- 1:32:12Speaker 6: it is. That's what it is right here, Like you know,
- 1:32:14Speaker 6: Joe Milton is still processing and learning how to understand
- 1:32:17Speaker 6: a defense and where to go and how it all connects,
- 1:32:18Speaker 6: and at least you know, Drake might not have been
- 1:32:21Speaker 6: overwhelmingly impressive physically, I mean athletically, he looks great. That
- 1:32:24Speaker 6: the arm it's fine, Like you know, I didn't even
- 1:32:26Speaker 6: I don't put it above Max.
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: Like we did not see his arm yet. Yeah, I'm
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: telling you, like this was not this that was tame down.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: They got the Corvette and the girl touch like I
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: felt like he was thrown with takes a lot. Like
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: at his pro day he's throwing fifty yards off his
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: back foot, like there's there's nothing to worry about with
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: his arm. This was he was throwing hitches. He's throwing
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: little crossers over the middle of the field. He's not
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: going to throw it one hundred miles an hour when
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: the guy's five yards away from him. He shouldn't.
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: Yeah, And that's the part when you mentioned like when
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: they when they go in seven on sevens, that's the
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: part that I found most interesting because Mike, before you
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: got here, when you were talking to schooler in Mapu,
- 1:33:03Speaker 4: Tamara and Evan said exactly the same thing that you did.
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: Like it just there was more of a it looked,
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: you know, more comfortable. You know, obviously they both have
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: long way to go. They're just they're just learning how
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: to play. But three people had the same impression, and
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: it seems like this one is different. And my guess
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: is that. And I have tremendous respect for Tom. I've
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: worked with him my entire time here, but I think
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: that there's something to the fact that he wasn't really
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: high on May, didn't think they should take a quarterback
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: at three, and I think, wow, it's going to be
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: a little bit extra critical as a result. We'll see.
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: I do give him credit for not flopping just because
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: he's on the Patriots now, Like, if you feel this
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: way about it, that's a good point because I often
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: complain about that. If you feel this way, then stick
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: to it. But let's just can we wait till like
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: at least mini camp, like actual mini camp before we
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: you know, drive. We're gonna have some Moti's practices for
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: the next couple of weeks. We'll have mandatory mini camp
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: for three straight days. Like, let's give it some a
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: little bit of time here.
- 1:34:04Speaker 6: I just like to can I share some other thoughts
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: just from any camp since to yourself, yeah, deep thought
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: to myself, just just you know, a couple of things
- 1:34:13Speaker 6: that I mean, I watched the practice. I kind of
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: I watched it kind of by myself. Capello was with
- 1:34:17Speaker 6: me a little bit, but I kind of enjoyed it. Well,
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: he was up on the I don't know. I I
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: mean sometimes I like watching these, you know, we talk
- 1:34:23Speaker 6: about it sometimes when we want when we want, Paul,
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: when you and I watched Turning Camp practices separately, it's
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: kind of interesting because you come to it at the
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: afterwards and you say, well, what do you think? But
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: you know, just a couple of thoughts that, you know.
- 1:34:33Speaker 6: I thought Polk front of the line looks kind of
- 1:34:36Speaker 6: already like a professional demeanor to him, you know, like
- 1:34:39Speaker 6: just looks like he's engaged and you know, ready to
- 1:34:42Speaker 6: get off them.
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 1:34:43Speaker 6: I wasn't blown away by the speed of Baker or Polk,
- 1:34:46Speaker 6: but I both felt like I felt like both of
- 1:34:48Speaker 6: them have some nuance to understanding how to how to
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: get open and routes, and especially Baker, I felt like,
- 1:34:54Speaker 6: I don't know how you felt like his feet off
- 1:34:56Speaker 6: the line at times looked pretty good to me, Like
- 1:34:58Speaker 6: he has some shimmy to him that I think makes
- 1:35:00Speaker 6: me think he can get away from some of the press.
- 1:35:03Speaker 6: But but I was I just again like I don't.
- 1:35:07Speaker 6: We talked about a couple of weeks ago where I
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: haven't seen a lot of high talent wide receivers in
- 1:35:11Speaker 6: person here for me personally, as so it's kind of
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: starting to understand what what that really looks like.
- 1:35:17Speaker 4: I was came out feeling like.
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: Polk is far more ready to kind of do a
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: bunch of different things, and it felt to me like
- 1:35:23Speaker 6: Baker's gonna need a little bit of time with Bell.
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: Wasn't totally blown away by him, but I did think
- 1:35:30Speaker 6: he had some burst and you know, it did remind
- 1:35:32Speaker 6: me I think John New's the comp we talked about smaller. Yeah,
- 1:35:36Speaker 6: he get that kind of you know, that kind of
- 1:35:38Speaker 6: vibe with him, especially after he catches the ball. But yeah,
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: those were I just you know, those are my thoughts
- 1:35:44Speaker 6: on those those receivers. I do like them.
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: But it's gonna be really interesting process.
- 1:35:47Speaker 6: With those guys and watching them develop, and uh, you know,
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: I just I'm hopeful that that we're able to see
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: enough out of Baker that you know, people just have
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: such high expectations for him right now, which is you know,
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: I I I just think everyone's like he's a fourth
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: Rond pick, but he might be our best player in
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: the strat Like that seems like a very common thought
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: to me, which I don't really see it yet, Like,
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: and I want to see it, and I know everything
- 1:36:08Speaker 6: we said about him coming out, but I think he's
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: gonna need a little bit of time before he's going
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: to be you know, an outside X receiver getting off
- 1:36:14Speaker 6: the line of scrimmage.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like Jalen Polk. The thing that stood
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: out to me is just how smooth he was, Like
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: you just a very very good body control, smooth movements.
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: Is it fat, like overly fast or explosive? I wouldn't
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: necessarily say that, but like the way he moves and
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: how easy it looks for him, Like it kind of
- 1:36:32Speaker 2: just looked effortless at times for him to just sort
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: of move around the field and make catches. And I
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: feel like a lot of guys in the league that
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: aren't burners but fit that description are very very successful
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: NFL player.
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that's the hope is that this
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: guy's he's a natural, Like he's a natural receiver. He
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: might not be, you know, an elite athlete, but he's
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: a natural receiver.
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: I love how you say that.
- 1:36:56Speaker 6: I mean I think that's just something like you know,
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: and even with Baker being like seven on seven kid
- 1:37:01Speaker 6: playing with Cam Newton, like, these these guys are like
- 1:37:03Speaker 6: you just said, he that's perfect like receivers. They're real receivers,
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: you know. These guys have always been receivers. They we
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: talk so much about the explosion of quality wide receivers
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: because of seven on seven and these guys, I think
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: are are two prime examples.
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: So that kind of product where.
- 1:37:17Speaker 6: I don't know if you'll know truly how good they
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: are until they actually start playing against guys, you know,
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: And that's I know, generally true, but I think there's
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: at least players I think generally it's always but there's
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: other players that you see where you're like, WHOA, this
- 1:37:29Speaker 6: guy's fast, or whoa.
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: He's huge, he's just going to dominate Johnson fast.
- 1:37:34Speaker 6: But I don't know right right now that's fair, you know,
- 1:37:37Speaker 6: but I you know, I just I think specifically these
- 1:37:39Speaker 6: guys they're they're receivers. And and although you can you know,
- 1:37:42Speaker 6: puck holes in, poke holes in in some of their
- 1:37:44Speaker 6: stats or their measurables or any of that stuff, I
- 1:37:46Speaker 6: think when when it when the lights come on and
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: it's a real game that these guys will be players.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: I think from your lips to God's teams, right, Victor
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: in Germany. Hypothetical question. If the league expanded by one
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: team this year, and this new team was given the
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: first ninety draft picks but wasn't allowed to trade for
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: any players or sign free agents, how good do you
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: think this team would be?
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: What draft? Like this past draft?
- 1:38:12Speaker 4: So they would have ninety rookies, would be terrible? Yeah,
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: I think they'd be bad, right, they would be like
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: a college all star team. Yeah, they'd be overmatched.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, probably true.
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: Yeah, So I guess his point. I think he's asking
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: to make that point. I don't know.
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: I mean, if I'm reading him right, he's saying, we're
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: going to draft ninety guys, and the best fifty three
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: out of those ninety you're going to be my team. Right,
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: So you have fifty three rookies on opening days, Yeah,
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: you're not gonna be good. Get killed?
- 1:38:41Speaker 6: Yeh ki killed?
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: Yeah unless Caleb is good.
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: Well, it's like Caleb and Molik neighbors.
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and Marvin Harrison Junior and Roma Dunza.
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: I take that team, yeah, Joe, I wouldn't necessarily be
- 1:38:55Speaker 4: anti that team, but I hear it say I one,
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: they'd get killed.
- 1:39:01Speaker 6: Probably hard to resign all those guys to Joe. We
- 1:39:05Speaker 6: got seven, we got the Rookie Book and tackles, forty
- 1:39:09Speaker 6: five free agencies.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: Push. You have a lot of the same things.
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: Yeah, right, A lot of people giving us compliments on
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: the Conspiracy Show.
- 1:39:19Speaker 6: It was fantastic, funny, so we're got I mean said
- 1:39:22Speaker 6: it afterwards. I know, Paul said, like it's like the
- 1:39:24Speaker 6: best show Evans ever had. All of a sudden, it
- 1:39:28Speaker 6: was like it was like, oh, here we go. But
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: it was like he was on other things I did.
- 1:39:34Speaker 4: I was waiting for him to push the microphone away
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: and discuss, and instead he came double barrels with The
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: moon landing was fake and Elvis is a lot right,
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: not that, not that it was.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: The filming of the moon landing was fake, but buzzy.
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: Because that technology is much tougher than getting a ship
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: to land on the home.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: Yes, correct, look it up.
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: Look it up.
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: Did they we have all twenty two in the moon?
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: Oh, it's like all three billion whatever it is. You're
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: up there planet.
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: I stick to my guns.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: Okay, I believe what you do. That you do that,
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: wan in Materey love the show and all the conspiracy
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: talk last show. Could Marcus Jones transition the running back?
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: I feel like he has all the skills to be
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: a third down back with his speed, agility, and I
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: simply do not trust him as a corner.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: Poor Marcus Jones. Everybody just wants him to play a
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: different position and all he wants to do is play corner.
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: But yeah, I think, I mean, I think he showed
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: as a rookie he could do those things. Yeah, some
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: of those things.
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: Yeah, he has a role in an offense as a
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: gadget player like he did as a as a rookie.
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: I don't he's not going to play receiver, Like I
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: know everybody wants to play receiver, but he doesn't want
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: to play receiver.
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: Two years ago, I get it, Like, yeah, if there
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: was there was talking about like a third down back.
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: He's too small to be a receiver, but he could
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: be a third down back.
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: If there was a world where somebody came to him
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: and were like it was like you're not going to
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: make an NFL roster oh as a corner and you
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: have to position switch, then obviously I think he'd he'd
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: look into it, but as long as he can make
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: a team as a corner and a return guy, he's
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: not switching.
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: The offense to watch any of the UFL games.
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: What we got?
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: Have you seen some of the kickers?
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: Oh, this is the one kid from Michigan that's kicked
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: for sixty plus y I'm.
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: Dead serious when I say the Patriot should be interested
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: in some of these kickers.
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: Some will probably putting helium in those balls to make
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: them look good.
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Yeah, what a great.
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: That's a conspiracy theory?
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: Is that far fetched?
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: No?
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: Get these kids noticed? Would that work?
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: Helium in the ball?
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: I don't know, something something kind of some kind of
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: doctored ball like floating off shopping.
- 1:41:50Speaker 7: Don't know.
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: The Cowboys kicker, what's his name?
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: Aubrey? Right? Yeah? He this is his was his path
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: soccer player, then spring league or something like that, and
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: then he's the team All Pro in the NFL last year.
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: Busters did it?
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: Footballs filled with air went farther than football's filled with helium.
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: Interesting?
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: Okay, so not as less mass? Maybe yeahs masks anything else.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: I'm not dismissing theory. Is like Fred's point wasn't about
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: the helium right, it was about something, Yeah, abnormal.
- 1:42:18Speaker 6: About that they're helping? What about hydrogen?
- 1:42:21Speaker 4: Hydrogen? It's heavier than air.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: David Maine? Can we please go back to not having
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: phone calls and taking emails? Only half the callers hang up,
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: half the callers ask who's going to be our wide receiver?
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: One?
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: And half the callers are Eldrick with all the time save.
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: And I didn't hear any of those things today, with
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: all the time.
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: Saved, not listening to dial tones and make more emails.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: Who are these people that can sit on hold during
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: a weekday? Anyway, that said, let's go to uh Brad
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: in Ohio.
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: On the do you have to say for yourself?
- 1:42:57Speaker 14: Hey, all right, shout out to the last email or two.
- 1:43:03Speaker 14: He's onto something there. So anyway, I just wanted to
- 1:43:08Speaker 14: reiterate some things that you guys have talked about and
- 1:43:11Speaker 14: appreciate you guys always. You know, you do great job,
- 1:43:15Speaker 14: all of you. What I'm concerned about, I guess really optimism.
- 1:43:21Speaker 14: I look at after the draft, I think there's hope
- 1:43:24Speaker 14: there except for the wide receiver coach. I mean, have
- 1:43:30Speaker 14: we done anything there that would make us think that
- 1:43:34Speaker 14: they're not going to regress you know, because they actually
- 1:43:36Speaker 14: can run routes, these receivers, this team.
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: So, yeah, did you say the coach?
- 1:43:42Speaker 14: That's just a question I had. I thought you guys
- 1:43:44Speaker 14: might be able to touch them. Give us some insight on.
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: Who the Yeah, what are you wondering who the coach is?
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: Because we know last year it was Troy Brown, but
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: he's not the wide receivers coach this year. He is
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: here though, Tyler his coach.
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: Yeah, Tyler, go ahead of a little background.
- 1:44:06Speaker 6: Tyler he was well, he was with the Patriots and
- 1:44:08Speaker 6: then he left and I don't know if you want
- 1:44:10Speaker 6: right to Washington, but he was at Washington last.
- 1:44:12Speaker 4: Year, which had you know three wide receivers picked.
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: No no, no, no, no no Washington Washington University, University,
- 1:44:21Speaker 6: Washington Huskies with Roman Dooon's Day and uh Millan.
- 1:44:25Speaker 14: And yeah, one of the players that we have.
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and he's got that.
- 1:44:30Speaker 6: Taekwon Underwood is his assistant wide receivers coach, So former Patriot.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: There and he was at Taekwon under was at Pittsburgh
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: last year coaching their receivers. So yeah, it'd be interesting.
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: It's kind of like you.
- 1:44:42Speaker 14: Think, what do you guys think? Are we better now.
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: Than on that.
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:44:48Speaker 6: I mean, i'd like I'd like to think so, I'd
- 1:44:51Speaker 6: like to think so, but you know, it's it's it's
- 1:44:55Speaker 6: one of those fluid things that you just until you
- 1:44:57Speaker 6: actually see it happen.
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: It's hard to be like.
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:44:59Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: We talked about, you know, Troy Brown last year and
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: my theory and I don't know for sure, but my
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: theory with Troy Brown is for him, it came so naturally.
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: He had such a high football IQ that it's tough
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: to teach for him, you know.
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think looking at some of their setups
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: on on the offense side of the ball, Thanks Brett.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: I think Tyler Hughes not nothing against his technical savvy
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: when it comes to receivers, but I can't imagine that
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: Tyler Hughes is going to be the one that's like
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: going over releases in top of the route technique and
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: you know, footwork and like all those types of things.
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: But my guess is that will be Taekwon Underwood who
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: is going to be the one that's really schooling these
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: guys on like the intricacies of receiver play, whereas Hughes
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: is going to be sort of the big picture schematic
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: x's and o's type of guy. And I think the
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: same thing is kind of going on on the offensive line,
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: where Scott Peters is like the technical guy. You know,
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: he's the one that's put your hand in there, put
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: your foot here, you know that sort of stuff. And
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: it sounds like Ben McAdoo in a VP are gonna
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: be the ones that are gonna be designing the run
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: game and having like the thirty thousand foot view of
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: this is exactly how we're gonna scheme it. We're gonna
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: game plan every single week. And these coaches are more
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: you know, on that side of things, whereas I think,
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: you know, I'm Bill Staff. Troy Brown was sort of
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: the catch all for you know, it's his receiver room.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: So I think it'll be a little bit different. They're
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: just because of how many coaches they have on the staff.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: It's not gonna necessarily be as cut and dry as
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: like other receivers think. So Tyler Hughes is a problem,
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: you know, like it's gonna be a little bit.
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: Ryan in Oceanside, California.
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: Ever, sure, yeah, you know ocean Oh yeah, yeah, party Ryan.
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: Ah do you have his last name?
- 1:46:43Speaker 12: No?
- 1:46:43Speaker 6: He doesn't give it, and I think I know, I'm
- 1:46:46Speaker 6: gonna say yes, I do.
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: Okay, He says he's been listening to the show for
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: twelve years, and I have to say that last Thursday
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: show was one of the best yet. Hearing you all
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: go in depth about conspiracy theories was very entertaining, especially
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: with Evans speaking so passionately about the Elvis conspiracy. I
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: told you, I told you, I never thought Evan would
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: be so passionate about something that doesn't have to do
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: with sports or Star Wars.
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: I think that was stunned me too.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: I'm kind of disappointed that we have Rookie Minichamp to
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: talk about because I'm sure plenty of US listeners would
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: like you guys have continued the conspiracy theory discussion.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: So on ano Thursday, we'll give you about an hour
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: of schedule recap. Yeah, and then maybe we'll maybe maybe
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: we'll maybe we'll.
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: I don't know. My my big one is definitely Elvis,
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: I know, and.
- 1:47:33Speaker 6: It's hard to recreate because it was so kind of
- 1:47:35Speaker 6: organic and like I when the question was first answered,
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: I'm like my brain I was like, I don't know, like,
- 1:47:39Speaker 6: but then it's just you jumped in and then you
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: start to think of other stuff and whent other directions.
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: It was, I just have an affinity for for I
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: love I love pop culture like I love all you know, celebrities.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: I follow a lot of these people. I'm kind of
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: ashamed of it, kind of not you know, like you
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: follow all this kind of stuff.
- 1:48:01Speaker 4: Wekly is that kind of sorry not sorry?
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no US weekly, But you know, like, yeah,
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: you know I find it interesting, like who's dating who?
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: For whatever reason? I find that interesting, you know, I
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: find until the celebrities and that kind of connects to
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: like Elvis and you know, different like things like that.
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: So do you ever like opine on the couples, like,
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: oh yeah, they seem like a good couple. Oh yeah,
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: they don't. Like yeah, yeah, I always find that really
- 1:48:29Speaker 4: interesting when two people that you've never met, yeah, and
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: you hear on the radio all the time. Oh, I
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: think they're great together.
- 1:48:36Speaker 6: Based on what how do you how do you feel
- 1:48:38Speaker 6: about match Josh Allen and Hailey Steinfelder, How we feel
- 1:48:41Speaker 6: your team on what is that they got?
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: I absolutely was Dallin.
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: Absolutely, I absolutely love it because ever since he started
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: dating Hailey Steinfeld.
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: And we finished third.
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, he's his game has just he dropped a notch.
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: I mean just look at him, like, look at him
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: on their little vacations. It looks a little little job. Yeah,
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: I'm okay with it.
- 1:49:02Speaker 7: Women Weekend, that would be a good have We talked
- 1:49:06Speaker 7: about Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift. They didn't break up.
- 1:49:11Speaker 6: But you need to get engaged.
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: They're going to get engaged. Oh yeah, yeah, that's what
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: I do.
- 1:49:17Speaker 7: I think they're going to get So you don't think
- 1:49:18Speaker 7: the whole thing was like stage and this is like
- 1:49:21Speaker 7: I did it first, but I was wrong.
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: That was last week's show about the conspiracy I did.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: I did it first. I thought it was all a play,
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: you know, a work.
- 1:49:30Speaker 6: Now you see their chemistry and it's just meant to be.
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: It's meant to be.
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: That that's true for a lot of those couples. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: there's a lot of you know, learn.
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: But I think that would be a good book or
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: coffee table book. Another one significant other VAGA that negatively
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: affected sports people's careers.
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: Well, the first three chapters of Tony Braxton.
- 1:49:56Speaker 7: No, I was going to say the first three chapters
- 1:49:58Speaker 7: are dating a kardash.
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: Automatically, as is normal, I come up with the one
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: from twenty five years ago to the one that's actually happening.
- 1:50:08Speaker 7: Yeah, that's that's that's if you're dating a card Kardashian flash,
- 1:50:13Speaker 7: in fact, your team is gonna suck.
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: Although Kendall was dating Devin Booker and they made the finals.
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: So I'm just saying, like I I, you know, it's
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: not he's got a point. They did not win.
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: Uh, they did not win, but you know that did
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: happen so well.
- 1:50:30Speaker 6: You saw with Tom and Gizzelle it took what like
- 1:50:32Speaker 6: about eight years before they were able to like finally
- 1:50:34Speaker 6: get over the hump when he started dating her and
- 1:50:36Speaker 6: then win a championship. So it takes some time, right,
- 1:50:39Speaker 6: But he was with.
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: Bridget moynihan before that.
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: He won with her.
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: I don't think actors like were waste than one friend.
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: Are you a Bridget moynihan greater than Gazelle person?
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: Big time?
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: Yeah yeah a lot of people are like that.
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: Anyways, it's like Ginger and Marianne.
- 1:50:57Speaker 7: Yeah, when will the somebody on the page it's team though,
- 1:51:00Speaker 7: liked a cool celebrity.
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: Chel Yes, yes that's good.
- 1:51:06Speaker 7: That counts.
- 1:51:08Speaker 12: But I mean.
- 1:51:10Speaker 7: Girl like, I mean someone like, but I guess.
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: Like everybody like, yeah, well, was Edelman seeing Shakira?
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: No, well, Danny A. Mendola was was dating Christian McCaffrey's girl.
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: I heard that Senttlement went out with Shakira.
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but that wasn't when he was playing, No.
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: Not when he was playing. Did you Glazer too?
- 1:51:38Speaker 4: That did that come out after the That was rumor?
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a rumor. Yeah.
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: I think she's taller than him probably.
- 1:51:44Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:51:45Speaker 7: What if somebody on the team was like dating Kim Kardashian.
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: Oh boy, well someone that used to be on the
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: team was dating that did not get confirmed. That definitely happened.
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: They might have like just had a couple.
- 1:51:55Speaker 6: Do you think though, that the Patriots need to start
- 1:51:57Speaker 6: winning again so that these things can be on the table,
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: because it's to see Kim Kardashian dating like a four
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: win team, you know.
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: And well was Tristan Thompson.
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: That was Lebron Cass Chloe Kardashian And he's still on
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: the Caps and got.
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: Still but like when he was, he's been he's been gone.
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: I think we might have found I know, we found another.
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: They were literally at the game last night.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, Tristan Thompson and Chloe Kardashian we're at the
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: game together last night.
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:52:28Speaker 7: I can't think of anyone on this roster that has
- 1:52:31Speaker 7: the juice.
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: Well, Drake May is dating his seventh great girlfriends. Yeah,
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: true team ann.
- 1:52:37Speaker 6: Yeah, like Baker might have the juice, Baker Mayfield, Javon
- 1:52:41Speaker 6: Baker Baker.
- 1:52:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, all right, he's quiet.
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: Sorry, And but the ones to look out for is
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: Drake May. Drake May's career goes like this.
- 1:52:50Speaker 7: I couldn't I couldn't see she seems to Yeah.
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: I mean, I don't say I would say what Evan's saying.
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: But I'm kind of a Tomorrow on this one because
- 1:52:59Speaker 4: there's precedent there with with Mahomes.
- 1:53:02Speaker 6: Right, that's the thing to do.
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: It's not impossible. Well, topic you stay, you stay with
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: the high school sweetheart. They've been together how many years?
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: I mean seventh grade seven, high school sweetheart, and Mahomes'
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: case a little different than she did a couple of
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: years ago.
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: You know, I think May has been a little cloistered.
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: So now that he's out there.
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: You know, I'm just glad is his girlfriend isn't like
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: an influencer.
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: That was, you know, very normal. Yeah, no, Sophie Scott's so.
- 1:53:34Speaker 7: But Sophie Scott blew up because of Mac. So she
- 1:53:39Speaker 7: still has time for that to happen.
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: Yeah, gotta start crocheting or something.
- 1:53:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: She posted a goodbye to New England a couple of
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: days ago and did you read the comments?
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: I just can't wait to freeze my ass off.
- 1:53:53Speaker 7: Max comment on her post gave me the ick.
- 1:53:57Speaker 6: He commented on Drake May's girlfriend's post, Sophie Scott, that
- 1:54:05Speaker 6: would be that's right, girl out of there like something
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: like that.
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: We out of one runs some routes for me. So
- 1:54:12Speaker 4: what did what did maximum?
- 1:54:13Speaker 6: I need to pull it up?
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: They did get me the Mac. They never appreciated you.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: When she like lit something on fire trying to cook
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: and like mag Mac and she's screaming running through the
- 1:54:24Speaker 6: house trying.
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: To Drew Bledsoe claims that with his time in Buffalo
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: with Alex van Pell, he got the feeling that Pelle
- 1:54:32Speaker 3: van Pell could be one of those special quarterback whisperer
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: type of dudes. Any thoughts on this claim. Do you
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: think he's the answer to helping build may to be
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: a franchise guy.
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: That's what I am optimistic.
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: That's what Right Mayo put it right on Alex van Pel.
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: What I like is that they he he has a
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: proven track record of a of a plan of how
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: to build a quarterback from the ground up, not take
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: you know, take care of the product. Aaron Rodgers out
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: of it. Like I'm talking about guys that he's gotten
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: his hands on, Baker Mayfield, you know, those types of players.
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: And he said, this is what we're gonna do x,
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: y and Z, and it's gonna make you better. And
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: we've seen it actually make the player better. So a
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: lot of it ties to footwork, which is exactly what
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: Drake may need. So I'm optimistic that there's at least
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: like a playbook of like, this is what we need
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: you to do. I think that that's, you know good.
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: Does he have to whisper it though? Can he just
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: say it, like, let's say it out loud to the open.
- 1:55:31Speaker 7: So he's giving football as Mr.
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: Left foot.
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: Greg Sawyer hitch, Yeah, what's in with the shoulder hitch?
- 1:55:42Speaker 6: He's all, I don't know, I didn't hear it the
- 1:55:44Speaker 6: shoulder hitch.
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: On people are just looking for things to talk about.
