- 0:49Speaker 2: Yo, Yo, Yo, what's up Lake?
- 0:51Speaker 1: How you doing brother?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Man? I'm blessed by the best. You know what I'm saying.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You killed it at eleven eleven my club in Scotts
- 0:58Speaker 1: steal you know, I saw it was crazy over there.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We had Markhams out there. It was a good time.
- 1:04Speaker 2: We went up, man, And you know I always have
- 1:06Speaker 2: a good time with Markhams. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:08Speaker 2: That's my that's my little bro right there.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Arizona. Is it used to be at least? I know,
- 1:14Speaker 1: But isn't it. Y'all's like biggest market. I mean, I
- 1:18Speaker 1: feel like y'all used to come like twice a year
- 1:20Speaker 1: and sell a celebrity theater out like just no problem.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Like probably three times. They love y'all Arizona, Chicago, Texas, Dallas, Houston. Man,
- 1:30Speaker 2: but it's the international bone thug love, you know what
- 1:34Speaker 2: I mean. But Arizona is right up there with the
- 1:37Speaker 2: best of the best worldwide.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You know what I mean, because Yo, look the Mexicans
- 1:41Speaker 1: love y'all. Dog Man, shout out to the rossall loves
- 1:45Speaker 1: them some bone thugs. Bro, they'll die about some bone thugs.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Dog. You know what they've been riding for is man.
- 1:50Speaker 2: You know it's black and brown love for sure, I'm saying.
- 1:54Speaker 2: So it's Mexicans ride with us, man and the whites, the.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Blacks, everybody, we probabative.
- 2:02Speaker 2: The natives definitely. You know, we we diversified, man, I
- 2:06Speaker 2: don't know how we crossed over all them them the ethnicities.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But at the same time, you know, it's good music man.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Uh yo, what is what is it about right now?
- 2:18Speaker 1: That is I mean everything is kind of a line
- 2:20Speaker 1: for you guys to put new music out. You guys
- 2:22Speaker 1: have been dropping singles. I know you guys have an
- 2:26Speaker 1: album coming through Green Back Records. Yes, sir, what because
- 2:30Speaker 1: it's it feels like it's been so hard to get
- 2:33Speaker 1: everybody together to do an album. I feel like it
- 2:36Speaker 1: was what was the last time? Was it?
- 2:38Speaker 2: It ain't easy believe that it had been the last
- 2:42Speaker 2: studio album we did all five.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It wasn't Thug World Order, was it.
- 2:47Speaker 2: No, we did the Unified album, Unified, that's it at
- 2:50Speaker 2: Warner Brothers. Yet we did the Unifive album and uh
- 2:55Speaker 2: you know, different singles and things we did. But other
- 2:58Speaker 2: than I really are studio album to say, this group
- 3:03Speaker 2: right here, just this resilience, the resiliency of Bone Thugs
- 3:08Speaker 2: and harmony, the legacy you know, is really here to stay.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Like so it's not hard getting five people in the
- 3:16Speaker 2: same room on the same page, and after so long
- 3:22Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like, it's it's not hard.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It's not hard with our chemistry at all. The chemistry
- 3:28Speaker 2: is automatic all the time. But you know, over time
- 3:32Speaker 2: we had all different things going on. Yeah, so it's
- 3:35Speaker 2: like it's like being on a basketball team. You know,
- 3:38Speaker 2: once you practice together and go through preseason warm ups,
- 3:42Speaker 2: that's what the little singles are, right, you know what
- 3:45Speaker 2: I'm saying, And now we're ready for the season.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Is this? How does it feel though? Just because like
- 3:50Speaker 1: you said, it's been it's been a minute. Man, I'm
- 3:51Speaker 1: sure those sessions have to be fun and it's got
- 3:53Speaker 1: to feel good to get everybody kind of back in
- 3:57Speaker 1: the fold. It shows everyone's together on the shows again, Like,
- 4:01Speaker 1: how's it? How does it just feel good? Does it
- 4:03Speaker 1: feel right?
- 4:05Speaker 2: I mean, to be totally honest, man, it's it's a challenge,
- 4:09Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I ain't gonna lie. I
- 4:12Speaker 2: feel it feels great, you know what I mean. Like,
- 4:14Speaker 2: you know, if you ain't seeing your family in a minute,
- 4:18Speaker 2: you come home, like you go away to school or
- 4:20Speaker 2: something and you go home for Thanksgiving, it's that feeling,
- 4:24Speaker 2: you know what I'm right? You back home with your family,
- 4:27Speaker 2: you can let your hair down, you don't have to
- 4:29Speaker 2: worry about what the outside people got to say, and
- 4:32Speaker 2: you can actually be yourself. So that's what it is
- 4:35Speaker 2: with Balm thus in harmony, Like the family is the
- 4:38Speaker 2: family part is always good, but you know, getting everybody
- 4:42Speaker 2: out of our on B business is always gonna be
- 4:45Speaker 2: a challenge too.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny because I know, like the fans always
- 4:49Speaker 1: kind of you're like the Leonardo of the Ninja Turtles
- 4:53Speaker 1: of Bone Thug. You're kind of like the unofficial leader,
- 4:56Speaker 1: Like they call.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Me the glue.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you're the glue. You're the glue that of keeps
- 5:00Speaker 1: every you know, you could get busy other fold, you
- 5:02Speaker 1: can get crazy on the fold, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Do you feel like that responsibility because I do feel
- 5:08Speaker 1: like you are the most like out there, Like if
- 5:11Speaker 1: there's a hip hop show in LA or there's some
- 5:13Speaker 1: shit like you might run into, like like you're very
- 5:16Speaker 1: much outside. Like do you feel like you are kind
- 5:19Speaker 1: of the glue of the leader of the crew that
- 5:21Speaker 1: kind of can just pull everyone together when it's possible,
- 5:24Speaker 1: when it needs to happen.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Well, you know, putting titles on things is easy to
- 5:29Speaker 2: cause frictions. I wouldn't say I'm the leader, you know
- 5:32Speaker 2: what I mean, But I do lead. Yeah, you know
- 5:35Speaker 2: what I mean. I think we all we all got
- 5:37Speaker 2: a title of leadership in bon thos in Harmony, but
- 5:42Speaker 2: we all play different roles. So from the beginning of
- 5:46Speaker 2: the conception of bon Thos in Harmony, it's always been
- 5:50Speaker 2: my job. From when we uh you guys were the
- 5:53Speaker 2: band Ai Boys, when we was the band Aid Boys,
- 5:55Speaker 2: it's been my job to you know, call the meeting.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Uh we got we have a party on Saturday. We
- 6:01Speaker 2: having a house party on Saturday. Cray, let's meet at
- 6:05Speaker 2: my mama house. You know, we're gonna get our steps together,
- 6:09Speaker 2: We're gonna get our routines together, and we're gonna go
- 6:12Speaker 2: turn that party out on Saturday. So that's just me.
- 6:17Speaker 2: That's my nature. That's what I do. You know. It
- 6:19Speaker 2: was like the empathy that I feel for my brothers
- 6:23Speaker 2: is like it's always pulling towards me. So it's been
- 6:27Speaker 2: my family. Man. I've been took away from my family
- 6:30Speaker 2: at an early age, so you know what I mean,
- 6:33Speaker 2: So to keep us together has always been my prime objective.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Can you kind of take me back? Because for people
- 6:40Speaker 1: who don't know, you guys did start off as the
- 6:42Speaker 1: band Aid Boys in Cleveland, right, and then it turned
- 6:45Speaker 1: into you guys releasing Bone Enterprise, which was not Bone,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Thug and Harmony yet, Right, What was the initial idea
- 6:56Speaker 1: to start recording? And like, how did you guys come
- 6:58Speaker 1: up with that first name? The band Aid.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Well, the Banded Boys. Uh, so give you a timeline
- 7:05Speaker 2: band Aid Boys. It all came together seventh grade, nineteen
- 7:10Speaker 2: eighty six, eighty five, eighty six. It all came together,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I met Crazy Bone, actually,
- 7:19Speaker 2: me and my brother when we went to our junior
- 7:21Speaker 2: high fdr. We both met Cray at different times, but
- 7:26Speaker 2: on the same thing. Like I beat box for Cray
- 7:29Speaker 2: one time, and Crazy had actually set up a beatbox,
- 7:35Speaker 2: Like like this dude in my in my science or
- 7:39Speaker 2: English class can beat box. He was like, I think
- 7:42Speaker 2: you should challenge you. Oh wow, you know what I mean.
- 7:45Speaker 2: So me and my brother, well, Craig, when Craig, you know,
- 7:50Speaker 2: brought it together, I'm like, Nigga, that's my brother, you
- 7:53Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. So it was like junior high
- 7:55Speaker 2: Bandai Boys. It was me, uh, Crazy Bone, my brother
- 8:00Speaker 2: Flesh and Bond and my homeboy K Chill back then,
- 8:04Speaker 2: you know. So then after junior high, so all through
- 8:08Speaker 2: that that process, we went talent shows, we winning, we winning,
- 8:12Speaker 2: We were becoming the name in school, you know what
- 8:15Speaker 2: I mean. And then uh junior after junior high, you know,
- 8:21Speaker 2: summer high school, that split us up a little bit.
- 8:24Speaker 2: U K Chill went to Glenville.
- 8:26Speaker 1: We ended up playing basketball, right, yeah, flesh.
- 8:29Speaker 2: We we went to Lincoln West High and my brother
- 8:32Speaker 2: started playing basketball. He became you know that they team.
- 8:36Speaker 2: He was the man. They team, was the ship. So
- 8:39Speaker 2: he was, you know, very well known in that and
- 8:43Speaker 2: uh me Cray and Wish at the time, we was
- 8:47Speaker 2: the niggas who wasn't doing nothing in school. So uh,
- 8:53Speaker 2: after junior high, I got caught up and uh that's
- 8:58Speaker 2: when I when I said, I got took away from
- 9:00Speaker 2: my family, you know, selling drugs. We've been through the
- 9:03Speaker 2: whole crack era, you know what I mean. Just so
- 9:07Speaker 2: that split us up for a minute. And my main
- 9:10Speaker 2: objective when I got out of that situation because I
- 9:13Speaker 2: had went to Texas whole long story short, my main
- 9:17Speaker 2: objective because I was rapping everywhere I went. So they
- 9:21Speaker 2: was like I knew we had something so my main
- 9:24Speaker 2: objective was to get this group of ours back together.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Kate Chill was doing music in Cleveland. He put out
- 9:31Speaker 2: some music. Uh. Then I hooked up with Kate Chill
- 9:38Speaker 2: and we got a manager. His name was Kermit, and
- 9:43Speaker 2: got the fellas back together. After I came from Texas
- 9:47Speaker 2: and we started, you know, me and Cray was looking
- 9:50Speaker 2: for a group name because the band Aid Boys wasn't happening.
- 9:54Speaker 2: We used to wear band aids up under our eyes.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I love I love Nellie, but yeah, we had the
- 10:05Speaker 2: band aid up under our eye. One day, Craig wore
- 10:07Speaker 2: that thing to school and uh k Chill was like, yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 2: that's it right there with the band aid boys.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Wow.
- 10:14Speaker 2: You know. So then it's a long story short. I
- 10:17Speaker 2: got back from Texas and uh, I was born at
- 10:22Speaker 2: I was busy bone and I had a friend who
- 10:25Speaker 2: was from out here. His name was Alsie Rowntree. He
- 10:29Speaker 2: was Wishbone, and I brought that concept back from Cleveland,
- 10:35Speaker 2: the Bone Enterprise, and Craig had a group called Niggas
- 10:40Speaker 2: Beyond Compare or something like that. So we we voted
- 10:44Speaker 2: on Bone were still. I was busy, Cray was be smart.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Uh Flesh was still Beatie rock. Uh, Busy hadn't even
- 10:56Speaker 2: came into the picture.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yet, right, you're the that was your name.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I was busy for for years. But when when well,
- 11:06Speaker 2: when I got back with Craig, Craig was like, uh,
- 11:08Speaker 2: I'm like so when we decided on Bone'm We're like, well,
- 11:11Speaker 2: what would your bone name be? You like nigga, I'm
- 11:14Speaker 2: crazy and you know me because Craig is the one
- 11:18Speaker 2: always looked too far as rapping and inspiration and music.
- 11:22Speaker 2: He had all the posters and shipped on the wall.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Big Daddy came and you know he knew what he
- 11:27Speaker 2: knew all that. So m h I changed my name
- 11:31Speaker 2: from from busy to lazy lazy crazy lazy the rhynd
- 11:36Speaker 2: with crazy because they you know, back then niggas will
- 11:39Speaker 2: call us uh kid and play and right and you
- 11:42Speaker 2: know light skin and dark skinned when uh kid and
- 11:46Speaker 2: play Chris Cross and all that type of ship. Yeah. Then,
- 11:53Speaker 2: uh you know we now we're in high school and
- 11:57Speaker 2: we were back at it again as on enterprise. We
- 12:01Speaker 2: went in all the talent shows again and that's when Wishbone,
- 12:07Speaker 2: being my cousin, he was always in the streets, you
- 12:11Speaker 2: know what I mean. So he never really even wanted
- 12:13Speaker 2: to rap on some straight up shit like nigga, I
- 12:15Speaker 2: got money, I don't y'all talking about, you know. So
- 12:19Speaker 2: he was hustling, but he became Wishbone. And then my
- 12:23Speaker 2: mom introduced me to Busy Bone through my mom and
- 12:28Speaker 2: his mom was good friends from the hood because they
- 12:31Speaker 2: was hustling and doing shit like that, you know what
- 12:33Speaker 2: I mean. And then when I met mc mellow was
- 12:37Speaker 2: his name. But this energy, this nigga had, I had
- 12:42Speaker 2: already discarded it. I'm like, man, that nigga, he gotta
- 12:46Speaker 2: be busy, you know what I mean. So we did
- 12:49Speaker 2: talent show after talent show next couple of years, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 2: selling dope, doing whatever we had to do, and uh,
- 12:57Speaker 2: I get shot one night and I'm like, I ain't
- 12:59Speaker 2: never telling this shit again. It ain't worth it and
- 13:02Speaker 2: dedicated my life to this. And then so at that time,
- 13:06Speaker 2: ninety ninth was super hot, you know what I mean,
- 13:08Speaker 2: while he had got murdered, who we wrote the original
- 13:13Speaker 2: Crossroads about, and you know, we like shit, man, we
- 13:18Speaker 2: got to get out of here. And our favorite rappers
- 13:22Speaker 2: was at the time was n w A, of course,
- 13:25Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And they had just broke up.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Right, That's about the time, right. Yeah, So the.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Question was to all in the hood, like, well, who
- 13:34Speaker 2: would y'all niggas sign with? We like nigga, We want
- 13:36Speaker 2: to be with Easy Eat, you know, because you know
- 13:39Speaker 2: doctor Dre they was bumping at the time. Easy He
- 13:42Speaker 2: was like the underdog. Right. We felt like we outrap
- 13:45Speaker 2: any nigga, whoever they was, you know what I'm saying.
- 13:48Speaker 2: So we like Easy Eat and we just kept easy ages.
- 13:53Speaker 2: You know when we when we left.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Did you guys say, because this is back in the day,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you had demo tapes, right, Like that was kind of
- 13:58Speaker 1: how you would have to get someone to tension because
- 14:01Speaker 1: the internet didn't exist.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we had a we had a seat, we
- 14:04Speaker 2: had a tape out, had the Bone Enterprise tape out
- 14:08Speaker 2: in Cleveland, but that none of that played a part
- 14:11Speaker 2: into us meeting Easy We actually went to California on blindfolded,
- 14:17Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. We came out here, like
- 14:19Speaker 2: everybody know that story, one way bus tickets, you know,
- 14:23Speaker 2: figured it out. Yeah, they don't know the struggle of it,
- 14:25Speaker 2: but we we you know, we was persistent with Easy
- 14:28Speaker 2: Eat and we wrapped form ended up getting backstage while
- 14:33Speaker 2: he was in Cleveland, and you know the rest of
- 14:36Speaker 2: that is history. So yeah, and we were still bond
- 14:41Speaker 2: in the prize when we met Easy You know what
- 14:44Speaker 2: I mean. We had a song called Thugs in Harmony
- 14:47Speaker 2: and he was like, hey man, y'all, y'all niggas should
- 14:50Speaker 2: be Thugs in Harmony. But but long was all of
- 14:55Speaker 2: our last name, that's all everyone's name.
- 14:57Speaker 1: You already committed to the bone.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Thing we was, We was all we was born. That
- 15:00Speaker 2: was like, that was that's our our bloodline name, you
- 15:04Speaker 2: know what I mean. So it was like, put that
- 15:08Speaker 2: shit together bone Thugs in Harmony and here we go.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Did you guys already have any of creeping on a
- 15:15Speaker 1: come up wrote before you signed with Easy? Or was
- 15:18Speaker 1: that all new ship? Like you guys end up working
- 15:20Speaker 1: with Easy and then you work on that stuff from scratch.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I mean we we probably had most of that shit wrote,
- 15:27Speaker 2: you know what I mean when we uh, when we
- 15:29Speaker 2: got with Easy Man, we was ready.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I had them, just know what I mean.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we used to when the box used to come on,
- 15:36Speaker 2: we had doctor dre Beachs come on that motherfucker. We
- 15:39Speaker 2: write it all we had. We had all all kind
- 15:43Speaker 2: of flows to dre shit back then. But uh yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 2: we was ready when we was We was definitely ready
- 15:50Speaker 2: when we met Easy, we probably had creeping on a
- 15:54Speaker 2: come up and have East nineteen ninety nine. That's done.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Crazy what I always wondered this because as a kid,
- 16:02Speaker 1: like when you're like, I mean, I was born in
- 16:05Speaker 1: eighty seven, so people want to come up with ninety
- 16:07Speaker 1: four and ninety five ninety four? Yeah, so I was
- 16:11Speaker 1: seven when I hear like mister Wigi, right, I'm like,
- 16:17Speaker 1: it was like creepy, you know right, it was like,
- 16:19Speaker 1: are these fool's devil worshipers?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Right?
- 16:21Speaker 1: How much of that did y'all deal with? Because I
- 16:24Speaker 1: know it was out if I was a little kid
- 16:26Speaker 1: listening to Luigi.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm glad you asked man, because let's dispel this sho.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I know you guys around, but I'm saying.
- 16:33Speaker 2: We believe in the Lord. You know, it's Joe jehoa witness, Baptists, Muslims,
- 16:40Speaker 2: all in my group, you know what I mean.
- 16:42Speaker 1: But back then, I'm sure when people heard that, they
- 16:44Speaker 1: were like, what the fuck got her?
- 16:46Speaker 2: But that that was a song we actually wrote in
- 16:48Speaker 2: high school. Some guy, forget who it was. It was
- 16:52Speaker 2: a girl. She brought a Wigi board to school and
- 16:55Speaker 2: we was in the back of the like we was
- 16:57Speaker 2: all cutting class and shit and playing with Luigi board. Ouigi,
- 17:01Speaker 2: are you with me? You know what I mean? So
- 17:05Speaker 2: you know every everything we've experienced, I believe damn that well,
- 17:10Speaker 2: not damn near everything we have experienced in his life,
- 17:12Speaker 2: we wrote about it. Whatever we went through, whether it
- 17:15Speaker 2: was shooting, praying, you know, partying, whatever it was, we
- 17:21Speaker 2: wrote songs about it, and Luigi just happened to be one.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And then it kind of just kind of gets like
- 17:26Speaker 1: it's like a part of your guys's lord, right.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I mean, because we are missed to a point because
- 17:33Speaker 2: we've been you know, for the success we had, we've
- 17:36Speaker 2: been less involved to me, in my opinion, less involved
- 17:41Speaker 2: with the industry than any group that made it to
- 17:45Speaker 2: our success. We always been in the cut.
- 17:47Speaker 1: One hundred percent. It's crazy too, because if you think
- 17:50Speaker 1: about creeping on a come up, it's you have like
- 17:55Speaker 1: two of your guys's biggest records under Thugish Ruggish and
- 17:57Speaker 1: for the Love of Money. My favorite song on there though,
- 18:00Speaker 1: it's like by far I do no surrenders My shit right,
- 18:04Speaker 1: that's like kind of like y'all's version of the police
- 18:06Speaker 1: cut out of.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Charge anyta charge any nigga up on the block for.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Real, that that was something that you guys had dealt
- 18:13Speaker 1: with a lot of, like police shit, but police brutality
- 18:15Speaker 1: and shit dealing with shitty cops in Cleveland.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I'm assuming I called my first case when I was fourteen. Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 2: that's what changed my life, you know what I mean.
- 18:23Speaker 2: And besides, you know, the bullet but other than that,
- 18:26Speaker 2: like yeah, but back to that Ouiji thing. Yeah, man,
- 18:31Speaker 2: the Lord and the Lord Jesus Christ is our savior,
- 18:34Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And Technology Technited went through the same ship.
- 18:39Speaker 2: That's what we do. Man. We write songs about things
- 18:42Speaker 2: that we experienced. And I had to explain it. It's
- 18:45Speaker 2: a Parker Brother game. We got it from Toys r US,
- 18:48Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Also, at the end of the day, this is entertainment, right,
- 18:53Speaker 1: So it's like I also feel like back then because
- 18:56Speaker 1: the other artists who I would listen to and I
- 18:59Speaker 1: love the music, but I was like freaked out. It
- 19:01Speaker 1: was Brother Lynch. Brother Lynch had some crazy lyrics about
- 19:05Speaker 1: eating people, and I'd be like, I believe that though,
- 19:07Speaker 1: But it was good.
- 19:09Speaker 2: So that whole era thh the ghetto boys. Yeah remember
- 19:13Speaker 2: my playing tricks, Uh Gangster Nip. We used to listen
- 19:17Speaker 2: to that shit. You know what I'm saying.
- 19:18Speaker 1: It was an era that people. But I just like
- 19:20Speaker 1: it's just funny because like.
- 19:21Speaker 2: They caught a horror wrap back, Yes.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Horror core. Yeah, even like Rizza Prince Paul, they did
- 19:26Speaker 1: the grave diggat shit in the nineties, Like, Hey, we
- 19:29Speaker 1: gott to stop the interview to tell you about our
- 19:30Speaker 1: good folks. Odd Socks, man, Now, these are the odd
- 19:33Speaker 1: socks basics, ladies and gentlemen. Now when I tell you

- 19:48Speaker 1: is they're kind of reinventing the sock game for being
- 19:50Speaker 1: honest and the underwear game. You know, a lot of
- 19:52Speaker 1: times you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target, you'll get some socks,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you get some draws. They're affordable, stand up with holes
- 19:58Speaker 1: in them. They don't really feel great. Not odd socks, ladies, gentlemen.
- 20:02Speaker 1: These odd Socks Basics are the most comfortable socks I've
- 20:05Speaker 1: ever had on my feet. Not only that, but you're

- 20:22Speaker 1: other side. There we go. Ah, you see that. Sorry
- 20:27Speaker 1: you had to see those white legs. But it's so
- 20:30Speaker 1: dope that you know, I get to push a product
- 20:33Speaker 1: that I use and that I love, so odd socks
- 20:35Speaker 1: they got the six pack of socks for fourteen ninety
- 20:38Speaker 1: nine at odd socks dot com. The basics, this is
- 20:40Speaker 1: the future of socks, the future of underwear, comfort and affordability.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the quality because they
- 20:50Speaker 1: are the most comfortable socks you ever put on your feet.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Ladies and gents and the Etcetera's got to show love
- 20:55Speaker 1: to the ETCeteras. We like all the stripes on the flag.
- 20:58Speaker 1: They're are odd socks dot Com. Man, much love to
- 21:01Speaker 1: my brothers over there. Make sure you get some right now,
- 21:03Speaker 1: odd socks dot com. Let's get back to the interview.
- 21:07Speaker 1: So obviously creeping on a come up drops and it
- 21:09Speaker 1: is huge when you guys are you you say a
- 21:15Speaker 1: lot of the East ninety nine stuff is alreadyritten, but
- 21:17Speaker 1: it really feels like that album. Man. You know you
- 21:22Speaker 1: guys did it at Rockthebells front to back or I
- 21:26Speaker 1: saw you guys on tour in Tampa in like twenty fourteen.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Maybe when you guys did that tour where you're doing
- 21:30Speaker 1: most of the East.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Nine ninety ninety and we did. We did an East
- 21:33Speaker 2: nineteen ninety nine tour.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yes, so you drop that like a year and some
- 21:39Speaker 1: change later. Is what's the pressure?
- 21:41Speaker 2: Like?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Okay now? Because because creeping on a come ups like
- 21:44Speaker 1: low key at EP right, you know what I'm saying
- 21:46Speaker 1: for like ninety standards East nineteen ninety nine, full project right,
- 21:51Speaker 1: a fucking classic. Do you guys feel the pressure?
- 21:55Speaker 2: I mean that's really when when life kicked in, it
- 21:59Speaker 2: wasn't really pressure. It was life was lifing, you know
- 22:02Speaker 2: what I mean? Like shit that time, Flesh was going
- 22:07Speaker 2: through some issues with the loss you know, uh, easy
- 22:17Speaker 2: he didn't even get to see East nineteen ninety nine
- 22:20Speaker 2: come out. R We lost Easy E in that process.
- 22:23Speaker 2: So when we first got with Easy Man, when we
- 22:26Speaker 2: went to the studio, we're unique and Rhythm D and
- 22:31Speaker 2: all these different guys. Man, when we went to the
- 22:34Speaker 2: studio with them, we were so loaded with raps. We
- 22:37Speaker 2: was humming tombs to everybody, and they was on it
- 22:40Speaker 2: making these beats and things like that. Like we probably
- 22:44Speaker 2: dropped like fifty songs.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 22:47Speaker 2: We was in the studio when we got with Easy E.
- 22:51Speaker 2: We was in the studio. We had no distractions. Easy
- 22:54Speaker 2: He let nobody come around us, you know what I mean.
- 22:57Speaker 2: He appointed certain people to come around us, like our
- 23:01Speaker 2: Watts niggas and our couple of our Anglewood niggas and
- 23:04Speaker 2: all that shit, like he would. He kept us in
- 23:07Speaker 2: the studio away from the distraction. So we had tons
- 23:11Speaker 2: of material, you know what I mean. By the time
- 23:14Speaker 2: he passed, so all that was going on, and it
- 23:21Speaker 2: was like we blew up. We were still waiting on
- 23:25Speaker 2: the check, you know what I mean. So we still
- 23:27Speaker 2: didn't have no bridge yet, and we were still in
- 23:31Speaker 2: the streets and creeping ups, already out on creeping on
- 23:34Speaker 2: a come up, already out.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Working on the second project. And you guys are still
- 23:38Speaker 1: waiting to reap the benefits of the success.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Right. We was living off a budget. We didn't have
- 23:45Speaker 2: no money, you know what I mean.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Budget is different.
- 23:47Speaker 2: The budget is the money they spending on you that
- 23:50Speaker 2: they gonna charge your ass back and recoup it recoup
- 23:54Speaker 2: on in the long run.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And like at the time, you guys are new to
- 23:58Speaker 1: this ship. So you guys are I mean, the nineties
- 24:00Speaker 1: is a really, really treacherous time in the music industry
- 24:03Speaker 1: because you couldn't just upload a song on YouTube. You
- 24:07Speaker 1: needed some sort of you know, path to getting into
- 24:12Speaker 1: a record store and distribution.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It wasn't as easy getting on the radio, and radio.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Used to batter like crazy, right, So it's like back then,
- 24:21Speaker 1: like it's like, yeah, of course we'll we'll sign, let's go,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you know.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I mean that that was our ticket out the ghetto.
- 24:26Speaker 2: You know what I mean. We didn't know the b business,
- 24:29Speaker 2: you know, I mean the business we learned. We learned
- 24:32Speaker 2: it in reverse. We lived it, and then you had
- 24:35Speaker 2: to figure and then you had to work backwards, and
- 24:37Speaker 2: you had to work still working backwards. We're still trying
- 24:39Speaker 2: to get our masters. But I guess we'll get to that.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I think, yeah, I think, like, uh, you know, I
- 24:46Speaker 1: don't want to jump too far ahead because I want
- 24:48Speaker 1: to go back to the East nineteen nine nine a bit.
- 24:49Speaker 1: But I do think, like you guys, there's five of y'all, right,
- 24:56Speaker 1: so that's a lot of a lot of personality. All
- 24:59Speaker 1: y'all are different, all of y'all got like you said,
- 25:02Speaker 1: But I just remember there was like this weird phase
- 25:04Speaker 1: where like you would see like Bone projects coming out
- 25:08Speaker 1: or even like I think you and you and Busy
- 25:11Speaker 1: might have did some random stuff like and then High
- 25:14Speaker 1: Power Records, y'all had like one off albums with them,
- 25:17Speaker 1: and then then there was like I remember when Big
- 25:21Speaker 1: Kaz was banging Mo Thugs and Arizona, like you know,
- 25:25Speaker 1: he was the owner, and I was like, what is
- 25:27Speaker 1: going on here? It was just there was just all
- 25:29Speaker 1: these real and it's just a bunch of very weird
- 25:32Speaker 1: like pockets of y'all's career timelines. But it always kind
- 25:37Speaker 1: of came back to like the music industry did not
- 25:43Speaker 1: do these dudes their proper respect from the beginning, like
- 25:48Speaker 1: like you said, like it's crazy, you guys should on
- 25:50Speaker 1: your masters.
- 25:51Speaker 2: So but that's why when I called you earlier, I'm like, yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 2: I was kind of skeptical of what we was going
- 25:57Speaker 2: to talk about because I really wanted this, this whole
- 26:01Speaker 2: thing to be about the resilience of Bone thus and harmony. Like,
- 26:05Speaker 2: I think we are not supposed to be here one
- 26:09Speaker 2: hundred weeks. We were supposed to be out of the game,
- 26:13Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Like, Uh, Easy E died
- 26:17Speaker 2: man right after we only knew for I keep telling
- 26:21Speaker 2: everybody fifteen months of our life. We knew this man
- 26:25Speaker 2: and this were talking thirty years later.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Now your your career is in the hands of not
- 26:31Speaker 1: the guy who brought you into the game.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Right and yeah, now now we now we're fighting uh
- 26:37Speaker 2: all kinds of people. Now I'm talking about record executives.
- 26:41Speaker 2: You got, you got people, everybody, everybody petitioning to get well,
- 26:46Speaker 2: let's go get Bob. Let's see if we could steal
- 26:48Speaker 2: Bone from Ruthless. But we was loyal to Easy. You know,
- 26:52Speaker 2: everybody came knocking on my door. That's how I got
- 26:55Speaker 2: the first more Thug deal.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Such a That's how I album was so good.
- 26:59Speaker 2: That's how we got Flesh and Bond to Death Jam
- 27:02Speaker 2: Leo Cohn's and uh and uh DMC from Run DMC.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Them niggas showed up at my house, my mama cooking
- 27:11Speaker 2: them chicken and ship like that. But they really came
- 27:15Speaker 2: to get Bomb but it Flesh was going through his
- 27:18Speaker 2: thing and like jail thing. So it was like, well,
- 27:22Speaker 2: my brother didn't sign the Ruthless.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Right, he was in jail. Right, That's where the Thugs
- 27:28Speaker 1: album comes.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Now we could do business like this, So that's where
- 27:32Speaker 2: more Thus came from. And then I did with.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Relative Heavin's movie. The Busy album drops, and then Crazy
- 27:38Speaker 1: does his deal with Relativity and then that I mean.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Yeah, so Relativity or the whole Relativity tree. So after
- 27:49Speaker 2: I got the most thug deal, I felt like, you know,
- 27:53Speaker 2: solo time, that it was solo time. So we got
- 27:57Speaker 2: I got created deal, I got busy to deal, you
- 28:00Speaker 2: know what I mean. I wasn't even I wasn't even
- 28:02Speaker 2: tripping at all on getting myself a record deal because
- 28:07Speaker 2: that ain't really that ain't me. I am the nigga
- 28:10Speaker 2: in the club. I am the one that was out
- 28:13Speaker 2: politicking and talking, and you know that's just me. That's
- 28:17Speaker 2: from my days of on the block. That's just my
- 28:20Speaker 2: part that I always played in bonb.
- 28:23Speaker 1: So yeah, because the most compilation comes right, and then
- 28:29Speaker 1: you catch like Ghetto Cowboys up. I mean, that's still
- 28:34Speaker 1: a thug devotion, Ghetto Colby Ghetto album was crazy.
- 28:40Speaker 2: It's all good, It's all good, all these man. I mean,
- 28:45Speaker 2: we was on We was fucking on fire.
- 28:47Speaker 1: That were fucking up the radio too.
- 28:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean. But at that end, like
- 28:51Speaker 2: I said, he had kept us, That's when all the distractions,
- 28:55Speaker 2: at all the distractions came. Everybody wanted Bone and and
- 29:00Speaker 2: I felt like the industry was playing us because you know,
- 29:05Speaker 2: we was wild. We didn't have no guidance, We didn't
- 29:08Speaker 2: have nobody giving us, no playbook at no time. So
- 29:13Speaker 2: we was real hood niggas walking into whatever rooms we
- 29:17Speaker 2: was walking into. But the talent was so undeniable and
- 29:21Speaker 2: they couldn't get us. So you start hearing other niggas
- 29:25Speaker 2: sound like Bone because that's what the industry do. They copy.
- 29:29Speaker 1: So was this around the time because I am a
- 29:32Speaker 1: fan of all all of these guys, obviously I'm a
- 29:35Speaker 1: huge Bone fan. And then I remember falling in love
- 29:39Speaker 1: with like a crucial conflict to do or die and
- 29:41Speaker 1: these guys. But you guys ended up kind of having
- 29:43Speaker 1: like a riff were I want to say, you guys
- 29:45Speaker 1: addressed them on Art of war am I tripping?
- 29:48Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, Art of Warrior. We addressed them.
- 29:51Speaker 1: But what would die?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yeah, crucial conflict twist twister.
- 29:57Speaker 1: So you guys, you guys, So what was the genesi
- 30:00Speaker 1: of you guys having issues with the other Midwest guys?
- 30:03Speaker 1: Because was it because you thought they sounded like you guys?
- 30:07Speaker 2: No, we never thought they sounded like us. They didn't
- 30:09Speaker 2: sound like us to me, you know what I mean.
- 30:12Speaker 2: They was just other groups, you gotta They came after us,
- 30:15Speaker 2: for sure, you know what I mean.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Just other groups from the Midwest and the most competitive
- 30:20Speaker 1: landscape and hip hop.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Ever, it's the same, it's the same playbook that they
- 30:26Speaker 2: use on everything. Just how the industry pitted big.
- 30:30Speaker 1: And pop, you know what I mean, like Pitt Bone
- 30:33Speaker 1: against these other dudes who rap fast.
- 30:35Speaker 2: You gotta compare, you know what I mean. Or because
- 30:40Speaker 2: they they those other groups didn't surface until after us,
- 30:44Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So the industry was on
- 30:46Speaker 2: they hunt for bone thugs in harmony. And then I
- 30:49Speaker 2: understood it a little later when I watched little Wayne career,
- 30:52Speaker 2: because after he became well he became you see, it
- 30:56Speaker 2: was a thousand little waynes coming out, you know what
- 30:59Speaker 2: I mean. So it's just like that's what they do.
- 31:03Speaker 2: You rarely have people that innovate and trend set, you
- 31:08Speaker 2: know what I mean, you get that once in the
- 31:11Speaker 2: generation and everybody else duplicated.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Random question, whatever happened to Powder from both thugs the
- 31:20Speaker 1: lone white boy on Ghetto Cowboy, you know, as a
- 31:23Speaker 1: white guy. I like, it's a kid, like, oh, there's
- 31:25Speaker 1: a white dude on this song, and that's crazy. Whatever
- 31:27Speaker 1: happened to that guy?
- 31:28Speaker 2: Right? Well, that's a good question because you know, Powder
- 31:31Speaker 2: peoples from Tennessee, Okay, And one day he popped up
- 31:35Speaker 2: on Crazy Bones doorstep as a rapper. You know, Craig
- 31:39Speaker 2: took him in. We all befriended him, but he had
- 31:44Speaker 2: some issues that we was unbeknownst to us. His family,
- 31:48Speaker 2: his family and all this type of stuff. I don't
- 31:50Speaker 2: know what they were. You know, I heard what they were,
- 31:53Speaker 2: but I don't know what they were. But he just
- 31:55Speaker 2: faded into obscurity after you know, he got real weird
- 32:00Speaker 2: after the success, you know what I mean, Like Nigga
- 32:03Speaker 2: couldn't do interviews, He couldn't he couldn't answer questions. It
- 32:07Speaker 2: was just like he was didn't know really what his
- 32:11Speaker 2: purpose was because it probably happened so fast. But man,
- 32:15Speaker 2: pileer p he known to this day. I mean, I
- 32:18Speaker 2: don't know where yet.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Ghetto cowboy I feel like has like new life.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well, I'm gonna let Crazy tell you about this,
- 32:25Speaker 2: but he doing a whole special whole Netflix, or I'll
- 32:30Speaker 2: let him tell you about it. But Crazy got some
- 32:33Speaker 2: shit for ghetto Cowboys.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Do you guys have any idea that Crossroads is the
- 32:41Speaker 1: record that like changes it all when you record it?
- 32:46Speaker 1: It is a it because I feel like Crossroads is
- 32:48Speaker 1: the record that took you guys. You guys cracked with
- 32:51Speaker 1: creeping on a come up. But Crossroads is what made
- 32:54Speaker 1: y'all like over it. You guys are in the studio
- 32:59Speaker 1: recording this song, y'all understand like, oh this is this
- 33:03Speaker 1: one's different.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's what took the That's what took the
- 33:09Speaker 2: Wigi Ouigi curse up off of us, because yeah.
- 33:12Speaker 1: We went in the video. It was amazing.
- 33:14Speaker 2: We went from Ouigi to I prayed and we pray
- 33:17Speaker 2: and we pray and we pray every.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Day, you know what I mean?
- 33:21Speaker 2: So yeah, man, and no, we had no idea, not
- 33:25Speaker 2: not at all, you know what I mean? Because first
- 33:28Speaker 2: we did If anybody ever, if you go back far enough,
- 33:32Speaker 2: you will know that on the original album each nineteen
- 33:35Speaker 2: ninety nine, it was a different version of the cross
- 33:38Speaker 2: Roads it was and that was dedicated to Wally and
- 33:41Speaker 2: then Easy died.
- 33:43Speaker 1: It's funny because I have the as a kid. I
- 33:46Speaker 1: had the original CD and then it got scratched and
- 33:49Speaker 1: fucked up, and when I got another one, it was
- 33:51Speaker 1: the other version, the new version.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yep, so and that song. So instead of them
- 33:57Speaker 2: releasing that as a single, they pulled the other one
- 33:59Speaker 2: off album and put that one on the album, which
- 34:04Speaker 2: was a marketing genius, and that shit pushed our album
- 34:08Speaker 2: up like three four million. Crazy. That song.
- 34:12Speaker 1: That song was so big. And it's funny too because
- 34:15Speaker 1: like that video, it's so like it's like an imprinted
- 34:19Speaker 1: in my head, like that visuals. It was like it's
- 34:22Speaker 1: like an all time great hip hop video.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it was cutting edge at that time.
- 34:26Speaker 2: You know, that's when videos cost it a lot, and
- 34:30Speaker 2: we had a lot of effects and stuff like that,
- 34:32Speaker 2: the face coming out, the wall, niggas disappearing and you know,
- 34:36Speaker 2: the black the ghost to and Eat going up the
- 34:39Speaker 2: mountain and back then, like now you can do that
- 34:42Speaker 2: shit with a click of a button, but back then
- 34:44Speaker 2: you had to pay for it, so that video, it
- 34:47Speaker 2: was a lot of time and effort put into that.
- 34:50Speaker 1: When you guys end up with Easy and Ruthless in
- 34:53Speaker 1: ninety four, this is kind of in the thick of
- 34:57Speaker 1: like real motherfucking g's and the Snoop death Row Easy Ship.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I know, how wrapped up were you guys in, Like
- 35:07Speaker 1: obviously you guys signed there. How much of that did
- 35:10Speaker 1: you guys inherit energy wise? Because you guys are recording
- 35:13Speaker 1: creeping on a come up out here, I'm assuming right,
- 35:16Speaker 1: So it's like, is the tension high like if you
- 35:19Speaker 1: guys go out.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Or oh yeah, the tension was always high, Like we
- 35:24Speaker 2: were just.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Like peak sugar night, you know, sure so crazy mother
- 35:28Speaker 1: we was.
- 35:28Speaker 2: We was ready to ride on whatever. We was from Cleveland.
- 35:32Speaker 2: We didn't you know, we didn't know.
- 35:33Speaker 1: We don't do this last It's different.
- 35:36Speaker 2: We was. We was on our own, our own pace,
- 35:38Speaker 2: so we was ready to ride for But the whole
- 35:41Speaker 2: thing was he was like, no, no, no, fuck that.
- 35:45Speaker 2: He was like, I don't need y'all for that, you
- 35:47Speaker 2: know what I mean? I need y'all to concentrate on.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Y'all kept you isolated.
- 35:51Speaker 2: We was isolated man like. He was like, do y'all thing,
- 35:55Speaker 2: and and never messed with us while we did our thing.
- 35:59Speaker 2: So while he was doing his beef, and I remember,
- 36:02Speaker 2: you know the infamous phone call where he was in
- 36:06Speaker 2: Cleveland when that ninety two point three, I think when
- 36:09Speaker 2: that call when we was, I was on the phone
- 36:12Speaker 2: arguing back and forth with Dash, you know what I mean,
- 36:15Speaker 2: even that day. But and then and when I snatched
- 36:18Speaker 2: the phone and did that, he was upset with me.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Then I'm like, yeah, I'm like in Dash. And we
- 36:26Speaker 2: was back and forth talking crazy to each other and
- 36:28Speaker 2: ship like that. But he didn't want that for us,
- 36:31Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But in the streets it
- 36:34Speaker 2: was inevitable because we ran in the niggas in certain
- 36:37Speaker 2: places and we had words and and things had to
- 36:40Speaker 2: be dispersed and things like. So we had our episodes,
- 36:45Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But it wasn't nothing that
- 36:47Speaker 2: because because we knew what he wishes was. You know,
- 36:51Speaker 2: he said he he's seen something different for us. He's
- 36:55Speaker 2: seen he probably seen what we living now, you know
- 36:59Speaker 2: what I mean. So he didn't he was getting away
- 37:03Speaker 2: from that. He was he was putting NWA back together. Yes,
- 37:07Speaker 2: you know what I mean so, but on on the scene,
- 37:12Speaker 2: like to the oh, to the eye, to the public,
- 37:15Speaker 2: it looked like they was going at it, but really
- 37:18Speaker 2: he was behind the scenes, like, man, I gotta get
- 37:20Speaker 2: my group back together because y'all couldn't fuck with us.
- 37:23Speaker 2: This was our arguments. We're like, man, we tell y'all
- 37:26Speaker 2: niggas up.
- 37:27Speaker 1: He do you like, because you guys are the first
- 37:31Speaker 1: people to really bring like right now, hip hop is
- 37:35Speaker 1: so melody driven, right, everyone has to have melody and
- 37:38Speaker 1: they I mean, look, if you think about the guys
- 37:41Speaker 1: like Future and and all these guys like you guys
- 37:45Speaker 1: come into this coming from Cleveland, come to the West coast.
- 37:49Speaker 1: We know what's hot at the moment. You know what
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm saying. You're bringing something new to the game where
- 37:55Speaker 1: you're combining like these harmonies and this singing and everybody
- 37:59Speaker 1: and and and it's different. Were you guys at all
- 38:02Speaker 1: scared on how like how the marketplace might take because
- 38:06Speaker 1: you guys don't sound like anything at that time, which
- 38:08Speaker 1: is why I think it worked. But were you guys
- 38:10Speaker 1: ever nervous, Like, man, we're doing some new ship. We
- 38:12Speaker 1: don't know if it's gonna work or not.
- 38:13Speaker 2: But see The thing about that is we didn't know
- 38:17Speaker 2: we was doing some new ship. So we was doing us.
- 38:20Speaker 1: You're just doing y'all.
- 38:21Speaker 2: We was just doing. He knew he was doing some
- 38:23Speaker 2: different shit, right, because he would always say, hey, man,
- 38:26Speaker 2: do that harmony shit y'all be doing. We'd be like, no,
- 38:28Speaker 2: nigga asked us to rap. We fin a rap against
- 38:31Speaker 2: these niggas. He's like, no, man, do that harmony thing,
- 38:34Speaker 2: you know what I mean? So he saw it, but
- 38:37Speaker 2: we was just being ourselves, man. And to be totally honest,
- 38:42Speaker 2: the names you name and hip hop changed totally after us.
- 38:49Speaker 2: We did that, and that's and that's what and that's
- 38:53Speaker 2: why I'm on doing these podcasts and all this because
- 38:56Speaker 2: before we come back, I want everybody to understand that
- 39:01Speaker 2: bone Thugs and harmony trend set it this whole game.
- 39:04Speaker 2: We changed it. It was an Atari and then we
- 39:08Speaker 2: changed that ship to an Xbox. You know what I'm saying.
- 39:12Speaker 2: It was a it was a PlayStation or a Dreamcast,
- 39:16Speaker 2: and and we turned that ship into a Sega Genesis.
- 39:20Speaker 2: So we upgraded it. We made we we didn't know
- 39:24Speaker 2: that mixing the harmonies and the flows. We didn't understand
- 39:27Speaker 2: that because that's what we grew up to. We grew
- 39:32Speaker 2: up from R and B, you know what I mean.
- 39:34Speaker 2: We grew up singing our parents and all that. So
- 39:37Speaker 2: it was natural for us when we bagging each other
- 39:40Speaker 2: up on stage, we singing each other ship and that's
- 39:45Speaker 2: where all that came from. But yeah, we started all that,
- 39:47Speaker 2: this and another thing. Let's let's address it while we hear. Like,
- 39:56Speaker 2: you know, every every generation brings something to the table
- 40:01Speaker 2: for the next generation to grow off of, you know
- 40:05Speaker 2: what I mean. So and that's what we did. Man,
- 40:07Speaker 2: We brought something to the table. And next thing, you know,
- 40:10Speaker 2: the flows was the flows was getting more similar tars.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Everybody was singing. You heard you heard Mariah Carey flip
- 40:19Speaker 2: in the flow. You heard different ones doing elements of
- 40:23Speaker 2: bone thugs and harmony. But we didn't have anybody to
- 40:27Speaker 2: really advocate for us to be like, this is what
- 40:29Speaker 2: they brought. So to this day we got to remind
- 40:33Speaker 2: people that we started that shit.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like you gotta kind of be your own.
- 40:40Speaker 1: You gotta control your narrative because if you don't control
- 40:42Speaker 1: your narrative, other people will control it for you. And
- 40:44Speaker 1: no one's gonna go out of their way to give
- 40:47Speaker 1: people credit, and like there are people who do like shit,
- 40:49Speaker 1: Whiz Khalifa has got a new record on his last
- 40:52Speaker 1: album and he's got your tattooed on his leg. Yeah,
- 40:56Speaker 1: I mean, but Wiz literally pays homage like it's obvious
- 41:00Speaker 1: he's paying. It's the Max Beef joint and he just
- 41:04Speaker 1: does you got he does it. Your guys flow flawlessly.
- 41:07Speaker 1: And I talked to him about it and he was like, yeah,
- 41:09Speaker 1: like I was paying. You know, he's a fan.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and we did and we and we
- 41:14Speaker 2: do amongst our peers. We do get our props now,
- 41:18Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like you got the Wiz
- 41:20Speaker 2: khalifas the a SAP Rockies and ye you know, he
- 41:23Speaker 2: was like, that's why we all a SAP. He told
- 41:25Speaker 2: me that one day, and I'm just like, you know it,
- 41:29Speaker 2: and it feel good and nobody gonna go out they
- 41:31Speaker 2: way to give it, give you your flowers. You gotta
- 41:34Speaker 2: eron that, you know what I mean. So we still
- 41:37Speaker 2: we still ironing ours because we still got something to prove.
- 41:41Speaker 2: So the future is on his way.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think too, like you said, man, like
- 41:45Speaker 1: there's a world in which like you guys.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Aren't.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Like you said, the success comes, people start going solo,
- 41:56Speaker 1: the group kind of, you know, disperses, everyone kind of
- 41:59Speaker 1: goes there the way you guys come back together. We
- 42:01Speaker 1: get the Strengthen Loyalty album under Swiss Beads, which was
- 42:03Speaker 1: a fucking incredible album. But you know, at the same time,
- 42:08Speaker 1: it's like there's a world in which, like what happens
- 42:12Speaker 1: if you guys never split up for that little period
- 42:18Speaker 1: of time, you know, because I feel like, was it
- 42:21Speaker 1: after Resurrection or was it after Thug World Order was
- 42:24Speaker 1: kind of like the timer it was like or because
- 42:26Speaker 1: Unified came pretty after Strength and Loyalty? Right that was
- 42:30Speaker 1: two yea, yeah, that was after Strength and Loyalty. So
- 42:33Speaker 1: I wonder, just like one, I want to talk about
- 42:38Speaker 1: the Masterress thing because the new thing that artists are doing,
- 42:40Speaker 1: which I think you guys can do. Taylor Swift did it,
- 42:45Speaker 1: the Alcoholics just did it.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Re record just shit right, and and we have and
- 42:52Speaker 2: we why not release a new version of Creeping on
- 42:56Speaker 2: a come up where you guys can get paid off
- 42:59Speaker 2: of it proper right.
- 43:01Speaker 1: And we will be a little harder because you guys
- 43:03Speaker 1: gotta you gotta get ready together again. You know you're
- 43:06Speaker 1: working on a new album let alone, you know, re
- 43:08Speaker 1: recording the old stuff.
- 43:09Speaker 2: But over the years, we have been recording our songs
- 43:13Speaker 2: over you know what I mean. But still very important
- 43:16Speaker 2: to us to get those particular masters.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Back to what is the uphill battle there?
- 43:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's it's a thirty year period, you
- 43:26Speaker 2: know what I mean. Like then they come back to you,
- 43:29Speaker 2: and they don't automatically come back to you. You gotta
- 43:31Speaker 2: go get them miss a process to that too, you
- 43:34Speaker 2: know what I'm saying.
- 43:35Speaker 1: So they're not gonna give it to you. Got to
- 43:36Speaker 1: take them back.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Like if we wasn't on our business, they'll keep them
- 43:39Speaker 2: forever and they would be licensing them. So if you
- 43:43Speaker 2: look at if you look around, you see artists that
- 43:47Speaker 2: came out after us, now they they music and all
- 43:52Speaker 2: these commercials and things like that. That's because and you
- 43:55Speaker 2: don't hear bomb in those capacities, is because we're fighting
- 43:59Speaker 2: for our masters because we don't have them to license, right,
- 44:03Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So that's what it's all about,
- 44:05Speaker 2: the ownership, the licensing. This is what the conversation of
- 44:09Speaker 2: today is, you know what I mean. So and I
- 44:14Speaker 2: thank God for the internet, because you know, we've been
- 44:16Speaker 2: independent doing solo shit the whole time.
- 44:19Speaker 1: And I feel like you talked about resilience earlier. Just
- 44:23Speaker 1: your growth man, in the last like decade has been tremendous.
- 44:28Speaker 2: You know.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like I used to be
- 44:31Speaker 1: an az DJ and at Jaguars and I'd be like, oh,
- 44:33Speaker 1: Lazy's here, but you'd always be super fucked up. And
- 44:35Speaker 1: I'm like, damn, every time I see lazy bro, this
- 44:37Speaker 1: fools faded as fuck.
- 44:38Speaker 2: But I say that one time, that shit made me
- 44:41Speaker 2: think too. I say, you know what, you're right, and
- 44:44Speaker 2: I was, you know what I mean. Like, but but
- 44:47Speaker 2: that's how I would go out and mask or like
- 44:52Speaker 2: I wondered, I'm a people person. I around people, but
- 44:56Speaker 2: really I'm going through a tremendous amount of stress. I
- 45:01Speaker 2: got PTS PTSD severely, like you know what I mean.
- 45:07Speaker 2: But and the only way I can really get out
- 45:09Speaker 2: there and promote my shit was to always be in
- 45:12Speaker 2: the public like that. But I've always knew to put
- 45:16Speaker 2: that shit down, you know.
- 45:17Speaker 1: And I feel like I feel like you've been super
- 45:19Speaker 1: dialed in man. Every time I've seen you recently, you're
- 45:22Speaker 1: dialed the fuck in I feel like this Bone album
- 45:24Speaker 1: isn't even possible unless you're dialed in, you know what
- 45:27Speaker 1: I mean. So I feel like it's dope, like shit
- 45:32Speaker 1: thirty two years later? Is it thirty two years it's
- 45:36Speaker 1: people want to come up, We're gonna get a new
- 45:38Speaker 1: Bone album.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Get a new bomb with everybody were coming together like
- 45:42Speaker 2: Voltron and this motherfucker?
- 45:44Speaker 1: What is it? Because it always so, you know, I
- 45:47Speaker 1: feel like Busy Bone is one of the more like, uh,
- 45:51Speaker 1: eclectic enigmas in music. If you've ever met him, he's
- 45:54Speaker 1: a one of one guy, you know, and it's always like, oh,
- 45:59Speaker 1: Bones coming to town, And then the first question always
- 46:01Speaker 1: is like, well, is Busy gonna be there? Right? What
- 46:04Speaker 1: is it about Busy that you think is misunderstood the most?
- 46:09Speaker 1: Because he is a unique individual.
- 46:12Speaker 2: What's misunderstood? I mean, I don't know if it's even misunderstood.
- 46:19Speaker 2: He's just a musical genius. He's obsessed with his craft,
- 46:26Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And anybody that's so into
- 46:29Speaker 2: their thing like that, like it's different, you know what
- 46:34Speaker 2: I mean. You could take a Michael Jackson. He was
- 46:38Speaker 2: and he was great. He was different because he had
- 46:42Speaker 2: he had an obsession about his stuff. Michael Jackson has skilled.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I mean, Michael Jordan has skilled. He was obsessed with
- 46:49Speaker 2: his art, you know what I mean. Muhammad Ali was
- 46:52Speaker 2: great because he was obsessed with his stuff. The greatness
- 46:56Speaker 2: came with the integrity and Busy got and Busy he
- 47:00Speaker 2: has all that. But the thing I think is misunderstood
- 47:05Speaker 2: about him is that they always clump our story together
- 47:11Speaker 2: when Busy had a story before Bone, thus in harmony
- 47:15Speaker 2: that the world didn't get to see first till recently,
- 47:18Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So now it's an understanding.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Now we now we're all understanding like life moves so fast,
- 47:28Speaker 2: and none of us had a clear understanding of how
- 47:32Speaker 2: to do this shit. So we had to grow up,
- 47:34Speaker 2: have families, different ambitions, and you know, figure out that
- 47:39Speaker 2: we all love the same thing and learn to respect
- 47:45Speaker 2: that everybody did they individual part to make this what
- 47:49Speaker 2: it is, you know what I mean. So you know,
- 47:52Speaker 2: Busy had the voice, you know, Crazy Bone, the flow,
- 47:56Speaker 2: the mastermind. You know what I'm saying. Flesh and Bone
- 48:01Speaker 2: on the business. Uh uh and the flow and uh
- 48:06Speaker 2: Wishbone with his harmonies because Wishbone got a lot of
- 48:10Speaker 2: harmonies with them. Bone. Thus sure I think people because
- 48:13Speaker 2: I think his wishes the and the Lieutenant at Arms too.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Well, if you think about wish wish is like the
- 48:18Speaker 1: guy who you said earlier like didn't really want to rap. Yeah,
- 48:21Speaker 1: and it feels like because he's kind of like the
- 48:24Speaker 1: there's no Wishbone solo album.
- 48:25Speaker 2: He don't give a fuck.
- 48:26Speaker 1: But but because of that, I think sometimes we underrate
- 48:31Speaker 1: like wish On on these records. He's and by the way,
- 48:35Speaker 1: buckshots his solo song and art awards my ship.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and but yeah, that but that's but that's what
- 48:40Speaker 2: make him him, you know, because he he he like,
- 48:44Speaker 2: he don't even want them. He don't even move unless
- 48:47Speaker 2: his bone thus harmed.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of crazy. He's the only guy who
- 48:50Speaker 1: never did the solo.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Album, right and and really don't care too. It's like,
- 48:54Speaker 2: although he doing one now because you know now now
- 48:58Speaker 2: he's working on the wish Master whatever motherfucker. But yeah,
- 49:03Speaker 2: we still got ship to prove, man.
- 49:06Speaker 1: So your guys' legacy is also your You guys are
- 49:11Speaker 1: the only people to have a record with Easy Eat,
- 49:15Speaker 1: Tupac and Biggie m h. Which this was not some
- 49:19Speaker 1: like you know, after they passed, No, you worked with
- 49:22Speaker 1: I'm obviously signed with Easy. You worked with Easy, But
- 49:26Speaker 1: in this three year period, you guys end up working with,
- 49:31Speaker 1: you know, three of the biggest icons ever. And you know,
- 49:34Speaker 1: when we look we look back at hip hop history,
- 49:36Speaker 1: I think Tupac and Biggie's deaths will always stick out,
- 49:40Speaker 1: as you know, one of the biggest storylines to ever
- 49:43Speaker 1: for for better or for worse obviously come out of
- 49:46Speaker 1: the music industry. Talk about the Tupac session. Man, what's
- 49:54Speaker 1: you and Tupac? You guys wrapping over the gunshot and
- 49:57Speaker 1: all that shit, like how you guys get the gunsh
- 50:00Speaker 1: out on the beat? Whose ideas it? How's the session?
- 50:02Speaker 2: I mean, the idea to beat, the energy from the
- 50:08Speaker 2: song came from DJ Unique and his team.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Shout out to you, Nique, you know what I mean.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Also another guy who doesn't get talked enough about when
- 50:17Speaker 1: it comes to just all time producers. Right.
- 50:20Speaker 2: So I wasn't in the studio. I met Pac on
- 50:24Speaker 2: on different occasions. My stories about Pac is really not
- 50:28Speaker 2: about the studio. Actually, Busy was trying to claim that
- 50:33Speaker 2: song as his own.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Oh so thug Love. He was trying to put that
- 50:37Speaker 1: on Heaven's movie.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Or because him and Heaven's movie wasn't even thought about it, Okay,
- 50:42Speaker 2: but uh, I don't know how the story exactly go
- 50:47Speaker 2: But somehow Silky Fine Busy Bone and hooked Busy Bone
- 50:54Speaker 2: up with Tupac and we had a bone session and
- 50:59Speaker 2: they went there to do it. I guess they let
- 51:01Speaker 2: you Unique know Unique City had to be boom boom boom.
- 51:04Speaker 2: We came and heard it, So you heard it with
- 51:06Speaker 2: the gunshots already. Yeah, I'm third on I'm third on
- 51:09Speaker 2: the record. So soon as I heard it, I jumped
- 51:11Speaker 2: on that motherfucker.
- 51:12Speaker 1: You know, like this sounds crazy.
- 51:16Speaker 2: And I didn't know Be wanted it for a solo
- 51:18Speaker 2: album at the time. So album, but I'm like, you
- 51:20Speaker 2: got me fucked up, nigga, This is Tupac hey hey man.
- 51:26Speaker 2: But and then we really wasn't even solo. Wasn't that
- 51:30Speaker 2: wasn't that wasn't in the cars.
- 51:31Speaker 1: It hadn't happened yet.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Yeah. So to his energy in the studio that day,
- 51:36Speaker 2: I really I really can't tell you, but I do
- 51:40Speaker 2: know from two if you asked DJ Unique, they say
- 51:44Speaker 2: they say the nigga was bouncing off the walls. Just
- 51:47Speaker 2: I know it's energy. You know, you could know its energy,
- 51:51Speaker 2: so I could imagine what what it was for them.
- 51:54Speaker 2: And Busy was there so he could tell you better.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Was uh you said you had some experiences with Park
- 52:00Speaker 1: outside of the studio. What was it? What was he like?
- 52:02Speaker 2: Well, when I when I first when I first met Biggie,
- 52:07Speaker 2: I met him at the Park Hotel. You know I'm
- 52:10Speaker 2: bigger Poc because I mean not big. I'm sorry Tupac.
- 52:13Speaker 2: When I first met him, I met him at the
- 52:15Speaker 2: Park Hotel. We was all staying there, like everybody used
- 52:18Speaker 2: to stay at the Park Hotel for some reason. The
- 52:20Speaker 2: Outlaws was there, Bone Thugs was there. Tupac fresh out
- 52:25Speaker 2: of jail, pull up. You know, I'm a fan of
- 52:28Speaker 2: the game. First, so I see Tupac, I go talk
- 52:31Speaker 2: to him. Yeah you know what I mean, And I'll
- 52:33Speaker 2: never forget he told me. He say, uh, my favorite
- 52:36Speaker 2: song was cross Roads. While I was in there, but
- 52:38Speaker 2: he was referring to the first cross with us, you
- 52:41Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. And I'm like, shit, where the
- 52:44Speaker 2: weed that He gave me some weed And we went
- 52:47Speaker 2: up to the room and it was body niggas in there,
- 52:50Speaker 2: and you know, we just vibing and vibing and I'm
- 52:54Speaker 2: you know, and just watching him talk about thug nation
- 52:57Speaker 2: and bringing all the thugs together and all less ship
- 53:00Speaker 2: and so yeah, that was my first experience.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Do you think like it's interesting too, because like he
- 53:08Speaker 1: becomes a face face of death Row after Easy Easy Passes?
- 53:14Speaker 1: Was there? Was it hard to make the record happen
- 53:16Speaker 1: because of the prior Ruthless Death Row thing. Obviously it
- 53:20Speaker 1: had calmed down by then, But I just wonder if, like,
- 53:22Speaker 1: was there any.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Not at all? Man, because Easy and Tupac was friends. Yeah,
- 53:28Speaker 2: regardless of what everybody else was going through. The mean,
- 53:30Speaker 2: it was cool with each other. Yeah, you know what
- 53:32Speaker 2: I mean. So and then we was on some thug ship.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Well I think Pop came to death Row after Easy
- 53:38Speaker 1: pass though too, so right around the time, yeah.
- 53:42Speaker 2: It was ninety because it was right before he passed, Yeah,
- 53:46Speaker 2: right before Tupac pass.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I just wonder if, like, you know, if like Sugars like,
- 53:49Speaker 1: ah no, we can't clear that it's it's on Ruthless,
- 53:51Speaker 1: or if you know, miss Wrights like it's.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I wasn't none of that. The energy was so big,
- 53:57Speaker 2: it was bombing.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Record was so crazy.
- 53:59Speaker 2: You can turn that down for nothing to talk was
- 54:03Speaker 2: too big.
- 54:03Speaker 1: So I know, Steve Little Bells told me a bit
- 54:05Speaker 1: about you guys getting in with Biggie Notorious Thugs is
- 54:09Speaker 1: so crazy because you guys, like you said, a lot
- 54:13Speaker 1: of people have done your flow. Biggie was able to
- 54:16Speaker 1: replicate your guys's flow in his own way, right in
- 54:19Speaker 1: such a legendary way.
- 54:21Speaker 2: By the way, seeing that that was such an honor
- 54:25Speaker 2: in our eyes because we didn't get to So we
- 54:28Speaker 2: was all in the studio together. We smoked, we drank,
- 54:32Speaker 2: we had a good time. You know, the whole bad
- 54:34Speaker 2: boy was in there. Almo Thugs, Bonm Thugs and Harmony.
- 54:38Speaker 2: We were all in there. And you know, Big didn't
- 54:42Speaker 2: do his part that night, and we didn't hear him
- 54:45Speaker 2: until after he had passed. So when we heard that shit,
- 54:49Speaker 2: it was like armed and dangerous and he was flipping
- 54:52Speaker 2: the flow and it was just like that was that
- 54:55Speaker 2: was the first time we had a nod to say,
- 55:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna give He gave us our props, which made
- 55:03Speaker 2: New York give us our props because if he does.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Up until the end of New York, Niggas was hard
- 55:09Speaker 2: on us. Man performing New York. We had some slim
- 55:14Speaker 2: crowds for a minute, and then you know.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Were always at right, like when you guys are because
- 55:19Speaker 1: I know you guys are have the Source Wars one.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Years we was at the first Source Awards Legendary one.
- 55:25Speaker 2: That's when the ship was going downs.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Was there any tension in the crowd between you guys
- 55:32Speaker 1: and Death Row.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Hell yeah, we was rapping to them, niggas. They were
- 55:36Speaker 2: sitting right there, were doing our thing, and it was
- 55:40Speaker 2: that was I had to be kids. If you didn't, man,
- 55:45Speaker 2: you had to be there, had to be there, kids.
- 55:47Speaker 2: You had to be there if you wasn't, if you
- 55:50Speaker 2: didn't see them awards shows back then, like thank god,
- 55:54Speaker 2: everything got back to normal.
- 55:57Speaker 1: You guys end up doing the double album with our
- 56:00Speaker 1: the War, and at that time there's not a lot
- 56:05Speaker 1: of double albums obviously. Uh, I believe you guys dropped
- 56:11Speaker 1: before Biggie. I think eight Ball had a triple album.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Master P had dropped some shit later on, like nineteen
- 56:17Speaker 1: Tupac had the first one. Tupac had always on me on.
- 56:20Speaker 2: That's what made us say, you know what, we're doing a.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Double yeah, because it's like every time someone of Bezi Alma,
- 56:24Speaker 1: what count as two sales back then, it's like a
- 56:27Speaker 1: nice little yeap.
- 56:28Speaker 2: So we had all them songs and we didn't know.
- 56:31Speaker 2: We ain't know you can put out a double album, right,
- 56:34Speaker 2: I ain't know that until Pok did it and we
- 56:36Speaker 2: was in and Cray was like, yep, that's what it is.
- 56:38Speaker 2: We're doing the double.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Who came up with the theme of the artwork where
- 56:42Speaker 1: you guys are like fucking old school, like medieval looking
- 56:45Speaker 1: warrior bruhs on there like, So we was, uh, you
- 56:50Speaker 1: guys sma and ship.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Shout out to Cassandra where man she was. She was
- 56:57Speaker 2: instrumental in like our imagery, our imagery on that album,
- 57:02Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So she we had we
- 57:05Speaker 2: had a marketing an r lady that ran the company
- 57:10Speaker 2: that was just she was a genius. She was. She
- 57:13Speaker 2: had I just the ideas. When we had an idea
- 57:16Speaker 2: for a rap, she had a visual idea in her mind. Wow,
- 57:21Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So she was like, you know,
- 57:23Speaker 2: let's do this old med evil ship and then you know,
- 57:27Speaker 2: everybody have a certain look of you know, different time
- 57:31Speaker 2: eras of war. So it came out crazy, that's what
- 57:34Speaker 2: we did.
- 57:35Speaker 1: And then you guys do the solo songs on the
- 57:37Speaker 1: album by the way, shot to Busy because that body rot.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Just fucking Jesus man, that body rots one of them one,
- 57:43Speaker 2: that body rot. Man. I mean that the album, man,
- 57:47Speaker 2: that's that's classic.
- 57:48Speaker 1: So around this time, you guys end up like this
- 57:52Speaker 1: is the soundtrack era, and you guys end up on
- 57:54Speaker 1: the Batman and Robin soundtrack. I could teach the world
- 57:58Speaker 1: that was looking in my eyes. Yeah, I remember the video.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Y'all got Batman in the motherfucking video and ship like.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Yep, we had the back car they let we was
- 58:09Speaker 2: we was balling in the back car. Man, that ship was.
- 58:12Speaker 2: It was dreams coming true at that time.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Yeah, man, it's crazy. So kind of let me know, man,
- 58:18Speaker 1: Like fast forward to now, like what is it about
- 58:21Speaker 1: this Connor McGregor situation, because he put out an incredible
- 58:25Speaker 1: exhibit album with X That Kingmaker is incredible. Green Back
- 58:31Speaker 1: Records is obviously based in Ireland. They're scooping up some ogs.
- 58:35Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, what what what was the
- 58:37Speaker 1: initial link up? Where is it Connor that's a fan
- 58:40Speaker 1: or how does this happen where you guys end up?
- 58:43Speaker 2: I mean, well, Connor was a fan? Uh you know
- 58:48Speaker 2: we do. We we did a lot of shows. We
- 58:51Speaker 2: was doing shows with Bobby D Presents Bobby D you
- 58:55Speaker 2: know what I mean. Which Bobby D is part of
- 58:58Speaker 2: our management now too, you know what I mean.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Great movement shout to present.
- 59:04Speaker 2: So whatever that relationship between him, he was and you know,
- 59:08Speaker 2: so they came and put something on the table and uh,
- 59:13Speaker 2: Bobby D, Rob Parker, all these guys. So you know,
- 59:18Speaker 2: when the idea came, we was ready to put out
- 59:21Speaker 2: our own you know, we want to put out our
- 59:24Speaker 2: own ship. Yeah, and but it's five of us and
- 59:28Speaker 2: it take it take a lot of planning and to
- 59:30Speaker 2: take a team and things like that. But we also
- 59:33Speaker 2: wanted to stay independent. So when the deal came across
- 59:38Speaker 2: the table, and it was and it was basically for
- 59:41Speaker 2: an independent licensing deal.
- 59:44Speaker 1: You guys get to keep your masters and keep our masters.
- 59:47Speaker 2: We licensed our ship to them for a certain amount
- 59:49Speaker 2: of years. And also that purse that kind of McGregor
- 59:56Speaker 2: had to put you had to put behind it.
- 59:59Speaker 1: You know.
- 59:59Speaker 2: We we we needed we needed to bankrow be honest
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: with it, you know what I mean, because we wanted
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: to compete with our peers. We wanted we could have
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: did it ourselves, but we wanted to come back and
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: have a presence to say, you know, y'all know where
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: y'all got this ship. We finnah give y'all a bone,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: thugs and harmony with some with some finance behind us,
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: so we can give it to y'all the way we
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: really want to. And and once and for all put
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: the put it to bed of who the greatest group
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: ever that touched this game? You know what I'm saying,
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: and that and that's what the mission is. To let
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: everybody know, you know, all shots paying homage to everybody
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: that came before us, everybody that came after us. But
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: thirty thirty two years in the game, we're like, we
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: gonna seal the deal forever ever. And having that licensing
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: deal gave us the most leverage to do everything we
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: wanted to do.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: After the album, you guys are also going to be
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: there's a tour tied to this too, right.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, yep, So we're going on tour. The new
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: album is coming, So come eight April April, uh late April,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: early May for the album when we're gonna go on tour,
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: probably start promoting the album on tour a week or
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: two before the album come out, and that should be
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: uh middle April May. We got the album out for
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: a blong going on tour. Live Nation is involved, you
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: know again, Bobby D presents, h Uncle Snoop's army is involved.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: So it's like, it's kind of crazy, right how you
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: guys are on like rival labels back of the day
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: and now you guys are all everyone's together at Coposthetic.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: It all came for a circle easy. It would be
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: really really proud. Man.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Do you still keep in contact with his wife? With
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: the easiest wife.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Every blue moon? Would you know? Now? These days I
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: used to talk to a lot, but I don't think
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: she want nothing to do with the music industry, you
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: Right now, she kind of got put into an interesting position.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I know she gets a bad rap sometimes, but it's like, hey,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: her husband passed away and she had to figure this
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: shit out.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Yeah, we gave her the Blues man, so but you know,
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: we was all trying to figure it out. But you
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: know she did. She stayed around for a long time
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: and I guess you know, our kids was growing up.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: She's a woman and she had to figure out, a
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: woman got a lot to do.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: The kids, is your son still rapping? Jay Bone?
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Yep, Jaybone, Steven Don, little Stevie. You know all my kids, Trinity,
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: all my children, all my children is super super musically inclined.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: So that's what I'm trying to get to. We're gonna
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: seal this Bone deal so they can't be denied.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: You know what I think would be dope. We talked
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: a little bit about you guys doing your old songs.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I bet you if you guys, I'll tell you what
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: would go viral. First of all, you guys got to
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: do a tiny desk performance. Have you seen the tiny man?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I've been trying to get Bone to do a tiny desk.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: We're gonna do it.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Listen. We talked to them when Juvenile did it, when
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Pain did it. Listen, If you guys did a proper
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: tiny desk it would go fucking crazy. Yeah, but you
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: guys should record like an unplugged version with like live
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: instrumentation of the like you know how jay Z and
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: uh Nirvana Lauren Hill had to unplugged albums back when
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: they Oh that shit crazy. But hey, we gotta wrap
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: up this interview. Another one presented by Hardan Baby you
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: already know what it is. Shout out to Hardeen for
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: presenting another episode of the Bootleg Help podcast. Don't forget
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: when you're in Vegas, you're getting that tax, you getting
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: that uber Say, take me to Harden, the number one
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: cannabis dispensary in the world. Premium selection of the craziest
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: gas you could ever ask for, And then they break
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: down all what all the turps mean. It's incredible. Go
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: to Harden Underscore Las Vegas. Shoot them a follow and
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: when you're in Las Vegas and make sure you shoot
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: them a visit. I want to shine a little bit
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: of light because you guys end up working with Swiss
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: beats And did you guys record a lot of that
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: in Arizona?
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Swiss was in scott Stale running ship up with full
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: surface records.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: What was the name of that, It was probably the studio,
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: the main one, salt Mine, Don Salter, Yeah, salt Mine,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: the Desert oasis man. Yeah, we spent a lot of
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: time out there. First time. I was the first time
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: in Arizona in the summer.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Oh so you saw no joke.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: It was hot in the studio and it was hot outside. Man.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: So yeah, we did mostly half the album.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: There was that a because that record I tried is
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: a big record for you guys and it ends up
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: kind of I think it's you guys is most slept on.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I guess, you know, official Bone album. I think it's
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: there's some ship on there. What was that was that?
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Like it's just three ya obviously, but what what was
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: that album like for you guys? Work? That had to
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: be a new situation where it's all right? Was just
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: three of us, like you know, everyone else is kind
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: of doing their thing, working with Swiss beats, having his ear,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: his production, his influence on the music. Get Mariah back
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: on the prout like back in the fold on there?
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: What what was that album like? Working on man?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Oh man? It was like I think at that time,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: we was just happy to be back at it. You know,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: we were still waiting on Flesh and Bone to come home. Yeah,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: you know, we tried to get Busy a part of
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: that album, but didn't work out. He had it didn't
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: work out. He had you know, he had things going
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: on and uh, but we was happy to get back
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: at it and ship. We was in the studio with
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Swizz and that his energy in the studio, you know,
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Cassidy was around a lot, you know, and that was
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: a great experience. Man, it was like, uh and that
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: was through in the scope too, So we had a
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: lot of support on that album.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. Now it was official. Yeah, you guys. Uh,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: you're a part of so many random side projects, Bone
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Brothers stuff, the stuff with Young Noble. Uh. What is
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: your favorite lazy Bone project that isn't a necessarily like
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: official Bone album or and let's also exclude the Mo
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Thugs shit, the More Thugs album out of all, let's say,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: you know, because you have a lot, you're you're independent catalog.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: It's pretty crazy if you really.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Look at it. Well, since I mean I've been dropping them,
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: I've been dropping them consistently too, so I mean, you know,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Harmony House Entertainment. Man, I will say, uh, the last
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: record I did, I think I'm still getting better as
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: a solo artist. Uh, Hypnotic rhythms, gypnotic rhythms. You know.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: I like the one Idea Idea Eyes on the Prize
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: with my homeboy HC. The Chemists who do a lot
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: of production for me solo wise, he do some production
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: for Bone as well, but yeah, man eyes on the
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: prize Annihilation.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Annihilation was dope. I mean the Burner album was crazy.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I like the one I'm working on right now.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: I don't never really go back and I don't go
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: backwards a lot, you know what I mean?
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Right now?
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm working on where it's my album being done.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: I'm waiting on Bone. It makes more sense.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: For me to get them get the Bone album.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I need that. We need that. The fans won't that
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: you got to supply to demand, you know what I mean?
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Yeah? No, for sure, can you talk about is there
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: a song or is there any features you could talk
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: about on the new album you or is there any features?
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: I mean, I really you know, it ain't no telling
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: what's going to be on a new album. I know
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: we didn't have like we only really did like four
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: four sessions, right, Oh that's it about four sessions. But
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: out of four sessions, we got about forty songs. Oh ship,
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Have you guys even sequenced everything yet or is it
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: still because we've had we've gotten some singles.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: We we know what songs we want to use now
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: we on our our wish list of future we want
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: to feature We just got a record from my homeboy
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: rush Go rush Uh put some ship together for us
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: in Wu Tang. This ship sounded like some if Bone
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: met Wu Tang and had a baby. Like this ship
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: is different and so that's on the wish list, you
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: know what I mean. We want to really collabor with
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: them people that shot awed us out over the years,
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: the Rocky Sap Rocky ship. We want a little wheezy,
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: you know what I mean. We won't Buster Whiz crazy.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: We definitely want Wiz Khalifa.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Have you heard the Wiz song I'm talking about. I
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: gotta play It's kind of crazy.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: It sounds I might have heard it. I gotta hear
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: it though.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: You just got to hear his flow.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Whiz Whiz like man, I love him.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Man, y'all see him get a bone tattoo.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: That's got to be like, Oh ship, that's amazing.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: We really like influenced some.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Of I knew that because like when we went through Pittsburgh,
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: you know, back in the day when Wiz as a kid,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: we kicked it. Somehow, he probably remembers the story better
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: than me, but you know what I mean, Like I
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: remember kicking it with Wiz and him. You know, he
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: always acknowledged us. So it was just like, you know,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: people that did things like that. That's that's on our
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: wish list. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: In terms of the greatest groups of all time? Who

- 1:11:00Speaker 2: No, it wasn't in Vegas. It was in New York. Man.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: We was at a party. Uh yeah, we was at
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: a party in New York. It was the Russell Simmons
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: That's what it was. Christmas party right when Flesh signed
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: the deal or no, the show soundtrack was coming out
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: and we had a guy everyday thing, yes, yep, And
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: it was a it was a big old misunderstanding up
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: in New York Man and you know we had to
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: stand on our ground. We was on the turf and
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: things went down.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: And so who did you guys get into it with.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: I ain't gonna say no name. We got into it
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: with Wu tang them niggas. It was just a lot
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: of them niggas, a bunch of it was a bunch
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: of them, you know what I mean. That's it seems.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I mean, at least it feels like it didn't go
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: past that night, right.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: No, I didn't. It never went past that night. I
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: mean because it was a fight that night, you know
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: what I mean. And it uh, it all got it
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: all got broke down because you had people like Chris
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: Lighty involved, Dave Lighty, right, you know what I mean.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: They helped squash.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: You had some overseers that yeah, we can't, we can't
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: do this, you know what I mean. And then then
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: that it was at RUSS party, so the O g's
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: got involved quick.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: And you guys got like you said you got business
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: with Russ.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Method Man calmed it down.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Shout out to Meth.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: You know what I mean. Method Man was the the
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: o G guru, the spokesman. He saw, he saw past
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: all that. So yeah, I got I Meth was a
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: big reason why shit never went farther.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: That's awesome. Uh, you guys, in.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: My opinion, everybody sees ship different.

- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Bone Thugs in harmony, Tech nine and the cotton Mouth Kings.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: I went to this tour as a kid because my
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: cousin was really into the Cottonmouth Kings. And this is
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: the same cousin who's the biggest Bone Thugs fan in
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: the world. Right, So you guys had to show up
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: the Mesa Amphitheater in Mesa, Arizona. Looking back, now, that's
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: like a wild lineup of artists. Yeah, Tech and Tech
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: nine went on first.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: You know that was different.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: How crazy was it going into that world, the Juggalo world.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: They're launching two leaders of fucking soda off the stage.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: ICP has its own universe. What is that like When

- 1:13:46Speaker 2: shit was, but we had we didn't. I didn't even
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: know about the fay Go, you know, the pot we
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: first when we first went on tour, we was, you know,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: a little dressed like, yeah, we're from you know, Cyclaid
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: nigga were getting eat up right man, that like put
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: these little garbage bags on and we saw that and
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: it was different because of the makeup and all that.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: But then backstage it was just like the makeup the
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: fay Go, the how different everybody was in their own
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: lane didn't matter. It was that was that was like
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: a family tour. We became family with them. Niggas was
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: like real quick, two three days?
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Have you have you performed at the gathering of the
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Juggles yet?

- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Uh? Nope, no they You know what I was hoping
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: for a strange music, uh connection like that at one point,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: but we was all always tied up or we was
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: always going through our makeup to breakup type shit. So
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: you know, at so for for a minute when that
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: could have happened, we wasn't ready.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Right right, right, right right. It's gotta be crazy to
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: see Tech like turning the Tech nine. You guys are like, yeah,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: this guy was opening us for us on tour, Like yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: But Steve Lobell and Travis I believe they had that conversation.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: But Steve, like, I.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Feel like, because I'm really close with Tech and Travis
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: and that world, and I feel like I heard the
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: rumblings of that wanting to be a thing. Oh the right.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: No, the rikings was on the wall, and.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: It would have made so much sense.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Rights was on the wall. Man.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: This is probably like ten years ago, yeah, about a decade.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: And and man, I admire Tech so much, man Like,
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: I wanted that to happen, But you know, I understand
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: I understand why it didn't.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Now in terms of choppers for people who don't know
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: guys who are really really fast, really good. Uh we
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: talked about Tech nine, but you guys are in that conversation,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: who do you think is the best chopper outside of

- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Uh well, def jam rap a lot them. Probably was
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: those are too close the close tools, because you know,
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: we we had it. We had a little bit more
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: going on with flesh and bone, right, you know what
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I mean?
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: You were. I mean that's the smart play. He didn't sign, so.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: She's like, bro, what you want to do? We went
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: down there. We spent a lot of time with Little J.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: Like I said, Uh. I don't know how significant that
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: is to anybody else, but I was always mind blow
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: that DMC showed up to my house, you know what
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: I mean, Like I gotta yeah, did incidence? You know
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: what I mean? Like not a quinn. I mean, it's

- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like that Jam would have been crazy.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I feel like Loud would have been crazy loud.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Uh, I don't know. I think I think Chris Lightighty
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: and them steal that death Jam or they might have
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: been going over the loud. I don't know how that.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I wasn't paying too much attention to the execs at
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: that time, but yeah, man, yeah we had options.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Do you still have your Grammy Award? And if so,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: where do you keep it?

- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Uh. We already read four or five songs that dropped already.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Uh it's over Road Nights, All Ship, and the dedication
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Easy Eat. Yeah, about four songs, so you might hear
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: about four or five more and then they might not
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: even be on the album.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: So I mean you said you got forty of them.
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, we just putting them out there just to get
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: the get heat up the streets. Yeah. Well, we're playing
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: on closing down the recording process the end of this month.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Oh okay, so you guys are still actively putting finishing
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: touches on the album, still working.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we might leave a studio and be like,
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: I mean, we might leave a show and be like,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: let's go to the studio and uh and just see
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: what we come up with. So you know, we still
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: we just we're just letting it, let let it, let
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: it flow naturally.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: You know, were you in the Breakdown remixed session, Absolutely
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: crazy Bone just fucking left his body when he did that,

- 1:19:58Speaker 2: know that's that's the.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: I think thug mentality. In nineteen eighty nine, it might
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: be my favorite solo Bone album. That was a great album.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to crave Man.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: That put a lot of sparks in sparks for me.

- 1:20:29Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Wishbone working on a solo album. Look, man, Crazy
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: Bone got this project coming out. I got a project
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: coming out. I got movies, man. The scripts that I've
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: been working on Crazy Bones Ghetto Cowboys, a movie slash
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: music script that is crazy.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: You guys should do a Bone Thugs Netflix special like
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: almost like how they did it straight out of content,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: but do it as like a Netflix show like look,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: eight eight episode mini series. Man.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: The first the first hurdle was to come together. You
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: know what I mean. Yes, So now now that that's accomplished,
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: everything under the sun. You know what I mean?
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Do you guys the trademark of your logo? You guys,
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: are you guys are able to license that out and
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: benefit from that?
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: We own all of oart. Only thing we need now
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: is dealt with those masters, but trade marks.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: All that ship like we we we built for business
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what we need. We need to
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: be able to go to Target and buy a Bone
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Thugs T shirt. You never got a Target shirt. You
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: got whoever's licensing shit for Target. We need a Bone
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Thugs T that is mine. Well, appreciate you for pulling
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: up man, lazy Uh you're a legend. Obviously super excited
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: for the new album. I know you guys got crazy
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: merch too. I just was it last year or the
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: year before Shoe Palace did a Bone Thugs drop? I
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: capt like three pieces. I got a whole guy, damned
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Bone Thugs. He's nineteen ninety nine sweatsuit from Shoe Palace.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: Let's shout out the Shoe Palace. That was a nice
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: little deal right there. But lazygear dot com. You can
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: go to the Life Apparel dot com. You can go

- 1:22:19Speaker 2: It's all we license our you know, we do our
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: own merchandise, and man, we just I guess I can
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: leave you with saying that, you know, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Man,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: we definitely coming twenty twenty six. The writings is on
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: the wall, and this really is just a you know,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: because this really just to solidify everything that all the
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: work that we did. You know, we were marching towards
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yep, we was
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: well to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: of Fame is the go and you know, class of
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. We get our star on hollyod Oh,
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: that's happening the same time Get Hit Shack Shack was
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: inducted the same year, and you know, just just doing
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: things to solidify everything. So this might be the last
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Bone album y'all get. But that's what I was gonna
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: ask on some real ship. Like it's it's hard work,
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: you know what I mean? And it takes. It's it's very, very,
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: very time consuming. We all got things we want to do,
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: we all got family children.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: Doesn't mean you guys want to do shows and stuff.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: We're always gonna do shows. But the recording process, like
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: the effort that we're trying to put into this thing,
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: it's it's hard work.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: You guys have to do a tiny desk.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: We will do it.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: To have to do a tiny desk.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: You can put that on my tiny that we're doing
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: the tiny desk.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: We gotta do it. Got talk before, and you guys,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I do think it'd be crazy if you guys could
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: figure out a live version with instruments or just the
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: you know, not necessarily like you said, you're working on
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: getting your master's back. You're getting back. But I think adope,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: like unplugged crazy version of like the classics will go
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: fucking crazy.
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: Well, I'm a sponge to this game still, man, so
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: I'm listening, and then.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: You guys could do a vinyl drop like you I mean, dude,
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: it's just I think, like you said, the hardest part
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: is you got to get five dudes together.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: That's all it is.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: And there's five geniuses and everybody lives in different. Ever,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: we got families, everybody got shit going on.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: Yeah. So so to our fans understand that, like you
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: know what I mean, because they get hot, they take
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: it personally.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Oh they do that. The Bone fans are crazy people.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: And we appreciate that. But you know, you can't rush
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: the perfection of things, and you want, you want the
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: chemistry to be right, because not only we not just
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: putting out an album to put out the album, were
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: putting out an album to shut shit down.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: When did you guys realize how much Mexicans loved y'all.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Dougas Ruggish Bone my men front the beginning.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: They love y'all.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Dog dog Man. Busy was Mexican.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I could see, I can Busy is so racially a
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: big ue issue, like maybe maybe yeah, there it is,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: my brother. I appreciate you for pulling up Lazy Bone,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: New Bone album coming in April, tour, all that go support.
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: Appreciate your care Boom
