- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, this is the Mark Simon Show on seven tenor Hey,
- 0:08Speaker 1: you realize it's Wednesday, which means it's one week since
- 0:12Speaker 1: New Year's Eve. New Year's Eve was one week ago.
- 0:14Speaker 1: You got through the first week of twenty twenty six.
- 0:17Speaker 1: You got through the first week of the Mamdani administration.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's only about three hundred more weeks of him to
- 0:24Speaker 1: get through, and then you'll be fine. Gotta keep clearing
- 0:28Speaker 1: my throat. I'm not sick, just my nose has been
- 0:32Speaker 1: stuffed up for a week and a half. It's just
- 0:33Speaker 1: this ridiculously cold weather. It's gonna be in the forties today,
- 0:38Speaker 1: fifties later this week. In Alaska. Remember the Remember a
- 0:43Speaker 1: couple weeks ago we had all that snow on a Friday.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Remember Bridgeport seven inches long, Island seven inches. It was horrible.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Seven inches this weather, Alaska. This is just the past
- 0:57Speaker 1: couple of days. Seven feet of snow, seven feet of snow.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You know here, if you get an inch, there's already
- 1:04Speaker 1: a school closings immediately. Alaska. You got to get to
- 1:07Speaker 1: about ten feet before they close the schools there. So
- 1:09Speaker 1: we'll get to Venezuela, we'll get to Greenland, we'll get
- 1:12Speaker 1: to Tim Waltz. We'll get to CBS News. They're getting
- 1:15Speaker 1: a lot of flat they've been cleaning up the Evening News,
- 1:18Speaker 1: trying to make it less corrupt, and they're getting a
- 1:21Speaker 1: lot of flack for it. Hey, we'll get to that
- 1:22Speaker 1: crazy George Conway who's running for Congress. We'll get to
- 1:26Speaker 1: mom Donnie. Hey, speaking of getting a lot of flak,
- 1:28Speaker 1: this Hilton story did not get a lot of coverage.
- 1:32Speaker 1: But you know, there's Hilton, and there's a great hotel chain.
- 1:35Speaker 1: You got Hilton hotels all over the place, and there's
- 1:38Speaker 1: one in the Minnesota where you know, ICE when they
- 1:42Speaker 1: go into these cities, you don't realize all the logistics
- 1:45Speaker 1: that are required forget arresting the criminals, the criminal illegals,
- 1:51Speaker 1: just the logistics of getting them all there. If you
- 1:53Speaker 1: want to send one hundred ICE agents there, you got
- 1:57Speaker 1: to move them there. All their equipment, everything, their vehicles,
- 2:00Speaker 1: everything has to be moved there. And then you got
- 2:02Speaker 1: to find a hotel for them to stay in. So
- 2:03Speaker 1: in every city they have to book one hundred hotel rooms.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Although well, government likes to waste money, but although it
- 2:11Speaker 1: might be you know, they double up. So it's fifty
- 2:14Speaker 1: hotel rooms, two in a room, whatever. But in Minneapolis
- 2:18Speaker 1: they used here it is again. In Minneapolis, they used
- 2:22Speaker 1: a Hilton hotel to have the ICE agents stay. Well,
- 2:27Speaker 1: the local Hilton hotel employees. You know, it's Minnesota, and
- 2:32Speaker 1: they were crazy left wing, childish democrats, woke democrats. So
- 2:37Speaker 1: they found out these were ICE people coming to stay
- 2:39Speaker 1: in the hotel, so they canceled the reservation and informed
- 2:43Speaker 1: Ice that they were not welcome to stay in this
- 2:45Speaker 1: Hilton hotel. Well you can't do that, of course, that's ridiculous. Now,
- 2:53Speaker 1: it's not the fault of Hilton the corporation. It's these
- 2:56Speaker 1: employees in this local hotel, and it turns out it's
- 3:00Speaker 1: not owned by Hilton. You know, many of these hotels
- 3:02Speaker 1: are owned and built by Hilton. But a lot of
- 3:05Speaker 1: these hotels you stay in were just built by the
- 3:07Speaker 1: local guy who built a hotel and then he makes
- 3:10Speaker 1: a deal with Hilton to come in and run it
- 3:11Speaker 1: and put their name on it. It's a franchise you
- 3:14Speaker 1: can buy, so you can build yourself a beautiful hotel
- 3:19Speaker 1: and then you get Marriott to be the name on
- 3:21Speaker 1: it and run it. You have to, you know, make
- 3:23Speaker 1: a partnership franchise agreement with them. In this case, it
- 3:26Speaker 1: was Hilton. So Hilton looked into this and they immediately
- 3:29Speaker 1: withdrew the franchise. They fired this local owner and hotel.
- 3:33Speaker 1: They took their name off the hotel. They will have
- 3:35Speaker 1: nothing to do with this hotel anymore. It's against their
- 3:38Speaker 1: policy to discriminate against people because of their race or
- 3:42Speaker 1: because you don't like the way they look, or you
- 3:43Speaker 1: don't like their politics. You can't discriminate and refuse to
- 3:47Speaker 1: give them a room. So Hilton has withdrawn the franchise.
- 3:52Speaker 1: That will have nothing to do with this hotel anymore.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So now, of course, the left wing cooks are all
- 3:55Speaker 1: gone after Hilton denouncing Hilton. Writing about Hilton, here's one
- 4:00Speaker 1: of these left wing cooks. S. Hilton was trying to
- 4:03Speaker 1: protect people from government thugs who separate people from their families.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They separate families well. First of all, every law enforcement
- 4:14Speaker 1: agency in the world separates families. The New York City
- 4:18Speaker 1: police separate families. The Minneapolis police separate whenever anybody's arrested.
- 4:22Speaker 1: If they arrest a woman's say a mother, and they
- 4:26Speaker 1: arrest her and have to arrest her take her in
- 4:28Speaker 1: handcuff her, take her to jail. That you can't bring
- 4:30Speaker 1: your kids with you. You're separated. The kids have to
- 4:33Speaker 1: stay with a relative or something, or if there's nobody,
- 4:36Speaker 1: they go into child services. But every law enforcement agency
- 4:40Speaker 1: separates families. Every arrest, families are separated. So Hilton getting
- 4:46Speaker 1: a lot of flack. Now you know who else is
- 4:48Speaker 1: getting a lot of flax. CBS News because the new
- 4:52Speaker 1: woman in charge, Barry Weiss, decided to clean up the
- 4:55Speaker 1: corruption over there and try to make it a little
- 4:58Speaker 1: more fair and balanced. So normally you watch the CBS
- 5:01Speaker 1: Evening News, all they do is denounce the President, denounce
- 5:04Speaker 1: the administration, call them all kinds of names. Whatever they do,
- 5:08Speaker 1: it's awful. So the new CBS News under Berry Wise,
- 5:12Speaker 1: they put in a new anchor. This guy's pretty good.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It's off to a rough, rocky start, but he's pretty good.
- 5:17Speaker 1: He'll he'll slowly even. You know. He actually get some
- 5:20Speaker 1: pretty good anchors. Now, this David Muher, you know, might
- 5:24Speaker 1: be a little slanted, but he's a sharp look and
- 5:27Speaker 1: it's a great newscast. The ABC Evening News and the
- 5:29Speaker 1: new NBC News anchor, I can't remember his name, Tom
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yamas that's his name, Tom Yamas. He's actually I like
- 5:37Speaker 1: Lester Holdy was a nice guy. Totally corrupt on the air,
- 5:39Speaker 1: totally biased, but he's a nice guy. This guy's sharper, better, quicker,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and the same thing with CBS. This guy's pretty good.
- 5:46Speaker 1: But they've decided to make the newscast fair. So every
- 5:51Speaker 1: night they'll go after the Trump administration a little with
- 5:53Speaker 1: the language because it's still being written by CBS News writers,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but they'll be fair. They'll put the other side. On
- 5:59Speaker 1: the first night of this new guy, he gave Pete
- 6:03Speaker 1: Hexath three segments on the New three segments on the
- 6:06Speaker 1: evening News to respond. And then it was Marco Rubio
- 6:09Speaker 1: one night. They brought him on live and whatever they
- 6:11Speaker 1: said bad about Trump, they put on Rubio, let him respond,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and then Christy Nome, whatever the attack was, they then
- 6:18Speaker 1: went to her, put her on live on the news
- 6:21Speaker 1: and let her respond. That's the fair thing to do,
- 6:23Speaker 1: so you're supposed to do so. CBS News getting all
- 6:26Speaker 1: kinds of flak from left wing critics now attacking them
- 6:29Speaker 1: like crazy. Here's one the call says it. Now it's
- 6:32Speaker 1: become Fox News Light. They're shilling for the administration just
- 6:38Speaker 1: giving the other the other side of chance to respond.
- 6:41Speaker 1: That's shilling for the administration. So uh, changes are happening.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And remember this is only the first year of Donald Trump.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Give him two three years and we'll see what happens. Now,
- 6:53Speaker 1: all this Greenland talk, you know, I feel bad for
- 6:56Speaker 1: the Democrats. This is costing them a fortune. You know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: they all had to go out and buy Ukrainian flags
- 7:01Speaker 1: to wave around, and then all the trouble in Israel
- 7:05Speaker 1: they had and they had to go out and get
- 7:07Speaker 1: rid of the flags. They had to go out and
- 7:09Speaker 1: buy a Hamas flags and Palestinian flags to wave around.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I mean every second they got to buy a new flag.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Then Ice they had, all these liberals had to go
- 7:17Speaker 1: buy Mexican flags, and now they all got to go
- 7:21Speaker 1: buy Venezuelan flags. You know, they spending a fortune on flags.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Had I known this was going to happen, I would
- 7:26Speaker 1: have bought stock and flag companies a couple of years ago.
- 7:31Speaker 1: But it just you go into any left wing kook
- 7:33Speaker 1: woke Democrats home, there's a closet now filled with different flags. Hey,
- 7:38Speaker 1: by the way, a lot of this stuff these protests
- 7:41Speaker 1: are funded organized. They're not organic or natural, many of
- 7:46Speaker 1: them paid for by Soros and those other oligarchs. The
- 7:50Speaker 1: Democrat oligarchs like Soros fund them. Nicole what's his name,
- 7:54Speaker 1: Reid Hoffman, Reid Hoffman. So the President and the administration
- 7:59Speaker 1: for the they've hinted at this, but for the first
- 8:01Speaker 1: time ever they said they're looking at going after them.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Harmiit Dillon and others in the Department of Justice now
- 8:07Speaker 1: talking about conspiracy charges against them. When you see what
- 8:11Speaker 1: looks supposed to be just an organic protest that happened
- 8:15Speaker 1: all of a sudden over Venezuela, they all two hundred
- 8:20Speaker 1: of them, have all the same equipment. They have the
- 8:22Speaker 1: same exact signs from the same printer, and they're real
- 8:26Speaker 1: high quality, glossy printed signs, really expensive. Well, so this
- 8:30Speaker 1: is all being funded by these Soros type zillionaires. But
- 8:34Speaker 1: now they're talking about rico charges, conspiracy charges funding protests,
- 8:38Speaker 1: So finally something may be done about that. So the
- 8:42Speaker 1: Venezuela talk. Now here's the other thing. The President talking
- 8:46Speaker 1: about Greenland taking over Greenland, hinting at the military go
- 8:50Speaker 1: in there and sees Greenland. He's not going to do that.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It's not going to be the military. First of all,
- 8:56Speaker 1: the military seizing Greenland. A boy scout troop take over
- 9:00Speaker 1: Greenland in about half an hour. I mean, it would
- 9:03Speaker 1: take twenty minutes to seize Greenland. So what he wants
- 9:06Speaker 1: is to buy it from Denmark. Denmark owns Greenland, and
- 9:11Speaker 1: there was a time a while back where they were
- 9:13Speaker 1: actually kind of interested in talking about it because the
- 9:16Speaker 1: price was going to be billions of dollars for Greenland
- 9:19Speaker 1: and they needed the money. Denmark's economy in trouble, a big, huge, huge,
- 9:24Speaker 1: huge deficit and debt. Well, one of the things that
- 9:27Speaker 1: saved them was that ozempic because apparently some of the
- 9:31Speaker 1: original whatever it is from ozempic made in Greenland in Denmark,
- 9:37Speaker 1: and they've made a fortune off it, which made up
- 9:38Speaker 1: a lot of their deficit. But US wants Greenland, they'd
- 9:43Speaker 1: like to buy it, they'd like to work out an
- 9:45Speaker 1: agreement to buy it and pay for it and then
- 9:47Speaker 1: own it. But that's the reason for all this invasion
- 9:50Speaker 1: military to it's just negotiating, just negotiating. There's no chance
- 9:54Speaker 1: of actually invading Greenland or taking it over. But it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: a very valuable thing for the US. It's very important,
- 10:01Speaker 1: crucial military base for US crucial as far as shipping lanes.
- 10:05Speaker 1: It has all kinds of defense strategic reasons why we
- 10:09Speaker 1: need to have Greenland. Also, it's filled with valuable minerals
- 10:14Speaker 1: and stuff, so it's a win win to take Greenland,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and Denmark really doesn't need it for any defense purposes
- 10:20Speaker 1: or strategic purposes or military base purposes. And then there's
- 10:24Speaker 1: always the fear for all those same reasons that the
- 10:26Speaker 1: Russia somebody else could take it over. President Trump. You know,
- 10:31Speaker 1: remember Joe Biden, remember him, And maybe once a year
- 10:36Speaker 1: he tried to do a press conference and they'd call
- 10:39Speaker 1: on three people where they were already picked beforehand, questions
- 10:42Speaker 1: and answers written out right in front of Joe. And
- 10:45Speaker 1: they had to put a big card with the reporter's
- 10:49Speaker 1: name so Joe could call on them, and the reporter's
- 10:51Speaker 1: picture so he'd recognize them. And they used the real
- 10:54Speaker 1: big font you know, so Joe could see it. Those
- 10:57Speaker 1: are the old days. Now it's President Trump every two
- 10:59Speaker 1: seconds of press conference, anytime he's walking in the hall,
- 11:02Speaker 1: anytime the reporter's there, he'll answer questions, He'll talk to
- 11:07Speaker 1: them on They all have his cell number. They can
- 11:09Speaker 1: call him anytime. Hundreds and hundreds of these reporters have
- 11:12Speaker 1: his cell number. Even this crazy Joe Scarborough. Right after
- 11:16Speaker 1: Venezuela or the Greenland stuff started, he said he called
- 11:19Speaker 1: the President Trump and talked to him for twenty minutes
- 11:21Speaker 1: about Greenland. I mean, that's how open he is. He'll
- 11:25Speaker 1: talk to Joe Scarborough on the phone for twenty minutes.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But wherever he is, you immediately can talk to him.
- 11:31Speaker 1: He'll answer questions. You see, even when he's on the plane,
- 11:34Speaker 1: he'll come out of the private cabin and answer questions
- 11:37Speaker 1: for a half hours. So anyway, the whole thing is
- 11:40Speaker 1: it's a winning situation in Venezuela. And he talked about that.
- 11:44Speaker 2: You gotta win the midterms.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Ohay, the midterms. Now this is the other thing. How
- 11:49Speaker 1: does this affect the midterms? Well, gas prices will come
- 11:53Speaker 1: down even more. They've come down dramatically. Hey, By the way,
- 11:58Speaker 1: it's another side issue. Come down to two fifty a gallon,
- 12:01Speaker 1: two seventy five a gallon. It was four dollars under
- 12:04Speaker 1: Joe Biden. It's now two fifty everywhere except New York
- 12:09Speaker 1: and except California. It's two fifty everywhere you go in
- 12:13Speaker 1: the country to seventy five. In New York it's still
- 12:15Speaker 1: four dollars four to fifty. California it's five. Nobody is
- 12:20Speaker 1: you have totally corrupt media, otherwise they'd be all over
- 12:23Speaker 1: these two governors at demanding to know why they haven't
- 12:26Speaker 1: let the gas prices come down. The reason it hasn't
- 12:28Speaker 1: come down here the state will just add taxes to
- 12:31Speaker 1: make up for it and keep it. So gas prices
- 12:34Speaker 1: are way down all over America. With Venezuela. Now we're
- 12:38Speaker 1: going to get fifty million gallons immediately of their oil.
- 12:42Speaker 1: That'll bring down prices even more. A lot of the
- 12:45Speaker 1: drilling that started to starting to kick in. So also,
- 12:48Speaker 1: you're going to have the tax cuts take effect now
- 12:52Speaker 1: finally since New Year's Day, they're now in effect. People
- 12:55Speaker 1: to get more money in their paychecks. So that's going
- 12:57Speaker 1: to help Republicans in the midterm. And it's important.
- 13:00Speaker 3: You got to win the midterms because if we don't
- 13:03Speaker 3: win the midterms, it's just going to be.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I mean, they'll find a reason to impeach me.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Yeah, there'll be an impeachment a week. But on the
- 13:13Speaker 1: other hand, when they do there, remember first term was
- 13:15Speaker 1: an impeachment once every year, every spring. This will be
- 13:18Speaker 1: every month, and then they'll totally devalue the whole idea
- 13:21Speaker 1: of impeachment. It will mean nothing after a while. Now,
- 13:24Speaker 1: the only time bomb there is a healthcare costs Obamacare
- 13:28Speaker 1: turns out to be totally unworkable. In fact, they called
- 13:32Speaker 1: it the Affordable Care Act. All it did was drive
- 13:34Speaker 1: prices up like crazy, which was to be expected. Anytime
- 13:38Speaker 1: you take anything out of the private sector and have
- 13:40Speaker 1: the government run it, it gets much more expensive. And
- 13:43Speaker 1: it got so out of control that they had to
- 13:45Speaker 1: start giving subsidies to pay for it. It's the Affordable
- 13:49Speaker 1: Care Act, but it's so unaffordable you have to have
- 13:52Speaker 1: a government subsidy to be able to afford it. So
- 13:55Speaker 1: that expired. Now they're going to have possible you know,
- 13:58Speaker 1: one of those shutdown talks things again at the end
- 14:01Speaker 1: of the month. Democrats want to just keep the subsidy
- 14:05Speaker 1: going forever, just subsidize it. President Trump, being a logical businessman,
- 14:12Speaker 1: types as well, why don't we fix it so it
- 14:14Speaker 1: actually is affordable. Privatize a lot of it, make it
- 14:18Speaker 1: more efficient, get all the crazy, you know, crazy corruption
- 14:23Speaker 1: and complication out of it, make it simple, and I mean,
- 14:28Speaker 1: that's the logical thing to do, but Democrats don't want that.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So healthcare will be crucial in the mid terms.
- 14:32Speaker 2: We could have add healthcare good. De healthcare is go.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Obamacare is bad and the people understand it's bad, and
- 14:38Speaker 3: the premiums are horrible.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But one thing I've learned, I've learned a lot about healthcare.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I found healthcare so sort of like, not of tremendous interest,
- 14:48Speaker 2: but it was very important.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah. So again, all day long. You can talk to him.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Reporters can talk to him anytime, ask him anything. Now
- 14:57Speaker 1: here's a more important issue. You know how he does
- 14:59Speaker 1: that Dan And after there's music, he starts dancing. So
- 15:04Speaker 1: he was asked about that. This is interesting. You know,
- 15:06Speaker 1: his wife, Milanie is a very dignified, very elegant woman,
- 15:10Speaker 1: and there he is dancing, and he was asked about it.
- 15:12Speaker 3: My wife hates when I do this, she said. You know,
- 15:17Speaker 3: she's a very classy person, right, she said, it's so unpresidential,
- 15:23Speaker 3: he said, but I did become president somebody she hates
- 15:27Speaker 3: when I dance. I said, everybody wants to dance, Darling,
- 15:31Speaker 3: it's not presidential.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Well, okay, that's true, but ninety percent of what he
- 15:37Speaker 1: does isn't presidential. He breaks all the rules and he
- 15:40Speaker 1: knows how to do it and be successful at it.
- 15:42Speaker 1: But I can understand her saying that.
- 15:45Speaker 3: She actually said, could you imagine FDR dancing? She said
- 15:48Speaker 3: that to me, and I said, there's a long history
- 15:54Speaker 3: that perhaps she doesn't know because he wasn't good fellow
- 16:01Speaker 3: even as a Democrat.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, But again I've known Donald Trump, I don't know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: thirty five years and the decades before he was president.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It was all the same thing as a top big
- 16:14Speaker 1: business guy in New York real estate, everybody in that world.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Why does he have to be Why does he have
- 16:19Speaker 1: to do that? Why does he have to behave like that?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Doesn't he know how to back? Doesn't he know? So
- 16:23Speaker 1: this has been gone on his whole life. He's perfected
- 16:25Speaker 1: the system of breaking all the rules. His instincts are great.
- 16:29Speaker 1: He makes it work. Hey, coming up, we'll get to
- 16:31Speaker 1: George Conway. This this crazy nutjob Democrat wants to run
- 16:36Speaker 1: for Congress here in New York. We'll get to that
- 16:39Speaker 1: and more. Coming up, we'll take some calls. Next. Eight
- 16:42Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero, seven, ten,
