- 0:00Just over the years I see these guys roll up, give me the head
- 0:04nod, do their job, and within 20 minutes they're gone.
- 0:07I'm still working on the same section of the lawn, going back
- 0:10and forth on this stupid mower. Big old.
- 0:13That I arm across the floor. Oh my.
- 0:15God, I'm melting. I spent 10 times as much money
- 0:19to make the same amount in 10 times more work and I I I want
- 0:27to do that now. Welcome back, this is episode
- 0:42I'm going to shoot out a number of nine on.
- 0:45Thanks. Hated it.
- 0:46Hopefully. Yeah, I'm assuming 9.
- 0:50Might be 8, I don't know. Brought to you by the lovely
- 0:54Justin. And with me is Ryan.
- 0:57Amber's out sick this week. We will press on in her honor.
- 1:06In her memory. In her memory.
- 1:10So this week is all about family and sports and business.
- 1:17Busyness. Somehow we turned into a Dave
- 1:20Ramsey. So unprofessional.
- 1:23Somehow we turned into a Dave Ramsey Andrew Tate podcast,
- 1:26which is disgusting. Wait, how is this an Andrew Tate
- 1:31podcast? Because we're talking business,
- 1:34boys. Boys gross.
- 1:38Hate it? I'm going to hate to find out
- 1:40that Ludwig loves Andrew Tate because I really like watching
- 1:44some of his stuff. It's going to suck when he says
- 1:47that. Like oh.
- 1:49I mean, it'll check, it'll it'll.
- 1:52It'll. Check out Yeah.
- 1:53OOP, OOP, you're gone. There you go.
- 1:58So couldn't be more proud of your brother.
- 2:04Yeah, go for it. Give him, give him the
- 2:07highlights. Give him the real.
- 2:09Graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA, valedictorian of his class.
- 2:15Nerd No. That's literally what we were
- 2:18saying to him. Don't beat me up, I know you're
- 2:19massive. That's that's literally what we
- 2:22were saying to him the entire weekend.
- 2:25He's like, oh, you were the valedictorian nerd.
- 2:28Get a life, get a girl. He's going to go play college
- 2:32baseball on a scholarship because he's just way more
- 2:39athletically bound than any of us ever have been, which is not
- 2:44saying a lot. And then to have the academics
- 2:46on top is just. He wants to study chemical
- 2:50engineering. That's the one.
- 2:51Some sort of engineering with chemistry focus?
- 2:56That's. Just insane.
- 2:57That's an immediate hire for, what were we saying, DuPont 3M?
- 3:033M. Like any pretty much he'd take
- 3:05his pick, take his, take it, take his VPC, take it, he's
- 3:09fine. Yes, whatever you want to do.
- 3:11If you if he studies half as hard as he did in high school,
- 3:15he's going to be able to choose whatever company he wants to
- 3:18work for. And he obviously got a
- 3:19scholarship. Yes, and you got several
- 3:22scholarships from like the local community too.
- 3:25Is that for sports or academics? So I don't know, I think the
- 3:29school he's going to cannot give sports scholarships D3, So it's
- 3:36got to be academic. OK, But he signed.
- 3:39He signed to play baseball. Which is you're fine.
- 3:42Is. Yeah, exactly.
- 3:43That's yeah What, however. I had no idea Yale had a
- 3:47baseball team. Right.
- 3:50Stanford. No, it's actually just BFE
- 3:56College in the middle of nowhere.
- 3:59But that's fine. I mean, you're playing college
- 4:01ball at that point. Like there's not very many
- 4:04people that get to say they they did that.
- 4:07I was going to say, if he's going for ball, is he thinking
- 4:10about using the actual degree and going into chemical
- 4:14engineering or does he want to keep doing baseball?
- 4:16So he wants he wants to see how far baseball will take him.
- 4:22That's a really good plan off the RIP.
- 4:24And just just he will play and develop and go for that, but he
- 4:30understands that this is probably his last go.
- 4:34I get that. So that's totally fine with him.
- 4:37Didn't he get hit the other day? Not the other day, the day after
- 4:42prom or not the day after prom. The Monday after prom he got hit
- 4:47in the face with a baseball. Just God.
- 4:50But I dad says that it hit the helmet visor first which
- 4:56shattered which then cut him so he didn't get the the force of
- 5:01the baseball on his face. Who's throwing who?
- 5:04OK, Can we just think about the pitcher?
- 5:07What are you going for? The Dude 6/2. 6 two, yeah.
- 5:10Where are you pitching? Like, yeah, what are you doing?
- 5:14It's high school, so Oh my. God, I mean like nothing on him,
- 5:18but I'm saying like, yeah, where you're going.
- 5:20You're you're talking little, you're slinging that thing town
- 5:23way too high school. Yeah, but no, he he wore it like
- 5:29a champ. Anybody else is in the
- 5:32bleachers? It just runs right into his
- 5:35head. Yeah.
- 5:36If the picture doesn't give too much away, yeah, I'll post it
- 5:39here, but he's just holding up the baseball with the thumbs up,
- 5:44smiling. That's blood running down his
- 5:46thumbnail. It's just.
- 5:47It's a hard picture. It goes hard.
- 5:49It's. Cool man.
- 5:50It is so cool. I was like, God, look at him
- 5:52smiling with a thought. What are you doing?
- 5:54And he's Oh my God, I, I don't, I don't know how I don't know
- 5:59how. That's crazy, man. 4.0 and
- 6:02playing college ball. You said he was prom king or
- 6:05went with prom queen, something like that.
- 6:06Did that. Was that talking to somebody
- 6:08else? I don't know if he was prom
- 6:11king, I I didn't hear it, so it probably wasn't.
- 6:15I think he was the homecoming. King.
- 6:17Unbelievable. What a what a start.
- 6:21Yeah. And that's, that's the start.
- 6:23Yeah. He's, what, 18?
- 6:2518. Yeah, good Lord.
- 6:27Going in, he's going to finish off high school with a little
- 6:33summer travel ball and then going into college to play fall
- 6:39ball like right off the. Unbelievable.
- 6:43Yeah, he's going to love it though.
- 6:45He's a good kid. He would have hated a gap year.
- 6:47He knows it. Oh yeah, He'd have been so
- 6:50bored. Yeah.
- 6:51What am I doing? No, like he's he's an FFA, he is
- 6:56an FCA. He was on the Scholastic Bowl
- 7:04team. He played baseball, football and
- 7:07basketball. I saw the basketball.
- 7:09He was active in his church community.
- 7:12Unbelievable. And just like literally he was.
- 7:17He's never home 'cause he's constantly doing something and
- 7:21to have that much activity and still get a 4.0, I don't know is
- 7:27just on. I literally don't understand it.
- 7:30He also umpires for like the the Town Rec League.
- 7:36Turns out he has a twin and you're just messing with me.
- 7:40They're both 6 too. That's funny.
- 7:44No, he's a good kid, though. He's.
- 7:46Unbelievable. Shout out to your brother and
- 7:49everything that he's done and everything he's going to do.
- 7:51And I can't wait to work for him Sunday because clearly he'll
- 7:55have a company of his own if he wants it.
- 7:57And he can just have it, like, unbelievable.
- 8:00He does want to go to U of I University of Illinois to get
- 8:05into the engineering program there, which is one of the best,
- 8:09if not the best in that area. Do they not have a ball team?
- 8:13Oh, they do. Oh, OK, they do.
- 8:15But that's Big 10 baseball. That's Division One Big 10
- 8:18baseball. That's kind of rough to break
- 8:21into, even though Illinois doesn't necessarily have a good
- 8:24ball club right now. But that's fine.
- 8:27Shout out to your brother. Congratulations.
- 8:29Enjoy it it it goes fast and it comes quick and don't take the
- 8:37first offer. So while we're on the topic,
- 8:40yes, I was actually going to sling a couple of these at you a
- 8:43couple weeks ago. And the back of the toilet book.
- 8:48I forgot about it. So now, since you got a new one,
- 8:52baseball trivia. My boss got me that, he gave it
- 8:55to me when we were golfing the other day.
- 8:58I I've kind of like skimmed through it, but I haven't really
- 9:02read through the whole thing. Straight out of the book.
- 9:09Oh goodness. And.
- 9:10I'm going to try not to do too many true or false, just give
- 9:12you or too many multiple choice because we're idiots.
- 9:16I'll go straight to the true or false.
- 9:18I couldn't even say it, that's how dumb I am.
- 9:22During World War 2A, Grenade was developed to mimic the size and
- 9:26weight of a baseball so young men who grew up playing the game
- 9:30would know how to throw it. This is true.
- 9:35No player has ever died as a result of an injury occurred
- 9:40during an MLB game. I would say that is false.
- 9:50OK, because there is one player that has died from a lightning
- 9:56strike. Unbelievable.
- 9:58Playing baseball. No, I I actually completely
- 10:01understand that I the most. I believe there's been one head
- 10:08injury if I'm not mistaken. With the lightning thing.
- 10:11No, like with like a baseball actually.
- 10:13No, no, no. I'm saying for me, like with the
- 10:15lightning thing, that's my number one fear with
- 10:17landscaping. The number one struck occupation
- 10:21in Florida for being outside is landscapers constantly struck by
- 10:27lightning. I know there's been one dude.
- 10:29I think there's been one dude that's died and then there's
- 10:31been one dude that got struck by lightning in the middle of a
- 10:35game and then went on to finish that game, which is just that's
- 10:41that's stupid. I bet it didn't have a four
- 10:44point O. Yeah.
- 10:45Although Ken Griffey senior and Ken Griffey junior played in the
- 10:49MLB at the same time, they never played for the same team.
- 10:53That's actually false. Major false because they played
- 10:57for the Seattle Mariners. Unbelievable.
- 11:00So first is true hand grenades were used, false for the death
- 11:05during a game and false for them playing on the same team?
- 11:09Yeah. Unbelievable.
- 11:11All right, I'll run it. Back.
- 11:13I'm a I'm a huge, I'm a huge baseball nerd.
- 11:15I love baseball. It's some good stuff, all right.
- 11:21True or false? Satchel Paige was not only one
- 11:24of the oldest men to ever debut in the MLB, but he retired as
- 11:28the oldest player ever in the majors.
- 11:31Satchel Paige. He retired as one of the oldest
- 11:36players playing in baseball. I believe 58 was his age.
- 11:43So true. Whatever.
- 11:45Not only the oldest man yeah ever debut in MLB, but he
- 11:50retired as the oldest player ever in the majors.
- 11:53Yes. OK, true or false, No pitcher
- 11:55has ever thrown more than one perfect game.
- 11:59Oh no, can you read that back? No pitcher has ever thrown more
- 12:07than one perfect game. I think that is true.
- 12:15I that's I'm going to be really upset if that's false because I
- 12:20know exactly who it would be. Obviously, increase the
- 12:23difficulty because you got all three of them right.
- 12:26New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver once struck out 11 batters in a
- 12:30row. Tom, Is that a perfect game?
- 12:34No, no, no. The 27 is a perfect game, and
- 12:37that's an unreal perfect game. 27 batters in a row striking
- 12:41out. That's unreal.
- 12:44I'd say true on that one, I think.
- 12:46I think he did. Tom Seaver once struck out 11
- 12:48batters in a row. It would.
- 12:50It would check out the Tom Seaver would.
- 12:51For real though, Satchel Paige and Tom Seaver.
- 12:54What a name. Tom Seaver was recent.
- 12:57Tom Seaver. Satchel Paige was was a older
- 13:00dude. And an.
- 13:02Crazy baseball player. An anonymous bidder bought a
- 13:05sock with Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling's blood on it for
- 13:10more than $90,000. More than 90,000.
- 13:14Dollars, I believe it was 2 million so get.
- 13:17Out man I. Believe it was 2 million.
- 13:20All right, the first is true. Paige retired in 65 at 59.
- 13:25I was. I was one year off.
- 13:27He became do do do do considered one of the greatest pitchers in
- 13:32history #2 is true when a pitcher doesn't allow a single
- 13:36runner to reach base 23 perfect games have.
- 13:42What? Yeah, yeah, I said.
- 13:44Only only 23 perfect games have ever been pitched.
- 13:47That's insane. 3 is false. Haha oh I was wrong on that.
- 13:53Seaver only, it says in quotes only, not only struck out 10
- 13:58batters in a row. That's good stuff.
- 14:00That's yeah. See, that's why I said that
- 14:02would make sense for Tom Seaver. He's 11.
- 14:06Hell of a pitcher. He struck out 19 batters total
- 14:09during the game, with the Mets winning 2 to one.
- 14:13And that's not the most strikeouts in a game.
- 14:15I would imagine not. And then the last one is true.
- 14:19It was fought for 92. Thousand oh 90.
- 14:21Two 613 So I think he was I think he.
- 14:25But no, I do remember that. Because that was that was the
- 14:29bloody sock game. Unbelievable.
- 14:31There's a name for it. Yeah, he, he had an injury on
- 14:36his ankle and he pitched through it.
- 14:37And you could just as the game went on, the sock got redder and
- 14:41redder. Oh.
- 14:41My God, yeah. This is just, it was it was
- 14:43pretty gnarly. All right, the last four, no
- 14:49woman has ever umpired an MLB regular season game.
- 14:56It's sexist that you don't know this off.
- 14:57The RIP I don't know. That you were a feminist.
- 15:00I know they they recently had women in the minor League
- 15:05Baseball system like that. They made a huge deal out of
- 15:08that. I don't think Major League, so I
- 15:14don't I don't think we've had one for Major League Baseball
- 15:17yet. #2 announcer Vin Scully spent more years with the
- 15:23Dodgers than anyone else associated with the
- 15:26organization. Vin Scully with the Dodgers true
- 15:31#3 In 1996, an umpire died on Opening Day after calling for a
- 15:36time out in the first inning, collapsing on the field.
- 15:39What I just These are random pages.
- 15:41Why have two of them been about death?
- 15:43True. An umpire died in 1996 and #4
- 15:47Umpires do not allow any kind of foreign substance to be applied
- 15:52to baseballs used in MLB games. Any foreign substance.
- 15:56False. First one is true.
- 16:01Nobody's ever umpired in an MLB game.
- 16:03No woman has yes, yes, I know that they've done minor league,
- 16:08but I don't think yeah, well, obviously, yeah.
- 16:11Well, Pam and Ria have umpired spring training and exhibition
- 16:15games, but nothing in a regular season #2 is false.
- 16:21Scully is one year shy of Tommy Lasorda's record-breaking 68
- 16:26years with the Dodgers as player, manager and.
- 16:33He had how did. You forget Tommy.
- 16:34What a name. He what a name?
- 16:36He had a special relationship with the San Diego Chicken.
- 16:44What's up? San Diego Chicken was a mascot
- 16:48San. Diego.
- 16:49Past that and he was kind of known for his antics like the
- 16:54Philly fanatic, but Tommy Lasorda and the chicken went
- 17:00after it several times, like to the point where Tommy Lasorda
- 17:04would like fist fight with this this chicken.
- 17:08In the in the. In the game.
- 17:10Unbelievable. Yeah, between innings he would
- 17:12just go after this chicken because it just kept going after
- 17:14him is good stuff. #3 Sadly true 1996 umpire John Mcsherry
- 17:21suffered a massive heart attack while working at the home plate.
- 17:26I wasn't laughing, I was coughing.
- 17:28I'm, I'm pretty sure I've seen video of that and it is the most
- 17:33eerie thing, 'cause he calls time out and like, walks forward
- 17:38a little bit and then just collapses.
- 17:41Yeah. And #4 it's false.
- 17:46I don't remember what that was. Umpires do not allow any foreign
- 17:50substance. OK, so I I didn't know what they
- 17:54were going to do. There is one substance that they
- 17:56allow, but I don't think they they call it.
- 17:58So every base Major League Baseball is worked up through
- 18:04this thing called baseball mud. Yep, that's what it says here,
- 18:08yeah. So I did not know if they were,
- 18:09I wouldn't consider that a. Foreign substance.
- 18:12Every ball gets it. I wouldn't call that a foreign
- 18:14substance. Well, I, well, it's a foreign
- 18:16substance because it's not like dirt base.
- 18:21Like it's not, it's not on the field.
- 18:24Baseball mud literally comes from a river in New Jersey.
- 18:28On y'all are y'all are weird man.
- 18:32That's good stuff. He said having trophies of when
- 18:35he played. Yeah.
- 18:38So I saw one today. Speaking of foreign substance,
- 18:43I'm trying to score a bid on one of the accounts that I already
- 18:46do. I'm trying to break into pool
- 18:49cleaning. I want to be a full stop shop.
- 18:52I want to be a full service property management company by
- 18:56five years. I'm at 4, four and some change
- 19:00four and three months. Whenever I told my CPA the when
- 19:04I started the yeah, look at that.
- 19:07When I first started the company, like a month into it
- 19:11when we paid for the LLCI, still going to do my year.
- 19:18He pretty much said don't, don't, don't even try.
- 19:22It'll be five years. Yeah, I told him you're nuts.
- 19:25You're out of your mind if you think I'm waiting five years to
- 19:28scale up to, to branch out, to use the business that I've
- 19:33created to make a bigger, better or other side business or
- 19:37another sister organization. He was right.
- 19:41He was going to say, how do you feel now?
- 19:43No, he was dead right. It's almost like him doing CPA
- 19:46for 45 years and his dad being ACPA for 45 years, he knew what
- 19:50he was talking. About yeah, it's not yeah.
- 19:51Straight up, you're out of your mind If you think I'm waiting
- 19:54five years for this. You're crazy.
- 19:55No, he was dead right. He couldn't have been more
- 19:58right. I'm going to go back and tell
- 20:00him how right he was. So I'm, I think my first shot
- 20:05into a. A sister corporation, LLC,
- 20:10whatever what have you, is going to be in the pool cleaning
- 20:13because they have it so good. These guys, I'm on a site for
- 20:20hours, grueling heat, I'm covered in it.
- 20:24I'm getting bit and stung and I'm having an allergic reaction
- 20:28to the Thistle like I'm getting my ass kicked.
- 20:31These guys show up in flip flops, they dump 2 gallons of
- 20:36chlorine in a circle, they scrub the walls, they sift the top,
- 20:39they shake out the filter. They're back in the AC in the
- 20:42truck. 20 minutes. And it's the same amount of
- 20:45money that I'm making. Like time wise.
- 20:47If they can match up their routes to where they can get 3
- 20:50poles in an hour, they're making the same money that I am.
- 20:53And I'm like, what? What was I thinking?
- 20:56These guys pay? I'd call it $1000 to start.
- 21:02And you're talking maybe 3 months worth of product to get
- 21:08the equipment. You already have the truck.
- 21:10Obviously whether you make payments on it or not doesn't
- 21:12matter. I'm doing the same with mine,
- 21:14your chemicals, your equipment, and maybe some T-shirts.
- 21:19And I could get that for $1000. I spent 10 grand to buy all of
- 21:24my landscaping equipment because I had that from my 4 O 1K when I
- 21:27left and just over the years. I see these guys roll up, give
- 21:33me the head nod, do their job and within 20 minutes they're
- 21:36gone. I'm still working on the same
- 21:37section of the lawn, going back and forth on this stupid mower.
- 21:42Arm across the floor. Oh my.
- 21:44God I'm melting. I spent 10 times as much money
- 21:48to make the same amount in 10 times more.
- 21:54You're watching. These guys as you are a 90s
- 22:00alternative rock band. Come in with emo screamo.
- 22:04No, no 90s alternative rock band Puddle of Justin.
- 22:10You're welcome for that. Spit take on your clean mic.
- 22:14Yeah, so I saw. I think I have a shirt that
- 22:17color that exact color the green.
- 22:19Yes, yeah. So I saw this pool today.
- 22:21This is a close family friend and I've been maintaining her
- 22:26property for years now. She's had the same pool guy few
- 22:29years now. We've actually had it out for
- 22:31each other this whole time. So he'll come over and after
- 22:36I've blown the roof off and I've pressure washed the pool
- 22:39enclosure and chemically washed the patio and cleared the
- 22:44gutters and knocked out the drain for the pool.
- 22:47Pretty much totaled yearly, two or three-year for her.
- 22:52Redo, revamp, clean out. He gives me the meanest mug
- 22:57because it's an open pool in an enclosure with stuff I can't.
- 23:03There's not much I can do. I can put a cover over it.
- 23:05I promise you it's only going to help a little.
- 23:08It is destroyed. So he's mad.
- 23:11I'm mad that he looked at me wrong the wrong way.
- 23:13I'm a grown man. I'll throw you in the pool.
- 23:16Don't fight, don't play. So the last time I saw him, I
- 23:21was trying to talk to him because the guy he hired or
- 23:25subbed out, what have you, didn't show up to take care of
- 23:35this person's pool. And they're a family friend.
- 23:37Like they're on my wife's side. They're a fan, like part of the
- 23:41family. So I asked her, I'm like, hey,
- 23:44do you want me to jump on this? Like, I'm, I'm breaking into the
- 23:47pool game. You could be the first client
- 23:50and it's probably going to be heavily discounted because I
- 23:53have no idea what I'm doing. And she said, well, this is like
- 23:57the first week that he found out that the guy hasn't been
- 24:00maintaining it and he's really mad at him.
- 24:02And he talked to him. I was like, all right, no
- 24:03problem. This was like a month ago.
- 24:06It's summer here, baby grandkids are hanging out by the pool.
- 24:09She's got her daughter there. It's it's summer.
- 24:12It's it's ready to jump. It's pool weather and it looks
- 24:16like that. And it is looked like that the
- 24:19great slime king for a month now.
- 24:22I talked to her again today. It's the two week service and I
- 24:25come up and I'm like, hey, what's going on with the pool?
- 24:29Well, he said he was going to take care of it.
- 24:32He's already dumped like two things of chlorine in it, and
- 24:35he's starting to come twice a week now.
- 24:38OK, I'm telling you now. I'm.
- 24:41I'm here for it. I'm.
- 24:42Ready twice a week just based off of that picture.
- 24:45Yeah, it's been that way for a month.
- 24:48I don't know what happened. And we were in a drought.
- 24:51It ain't the water. It ain't the rain.
- 24:53Like it's complete mismanagement.
- 24:55What do you mean? You dump two things of chlorine
- 24:58and it's and it's still green like that.
- 25:00Oh my. God.
- 25:01We haven't. It looks like the.
- 25:02Waters of the Bermuda just green green.
- 25:05We had rain, yeah, like 4 days and it's still severe drought.
- 25:12Like that's, that's no, absolutely.
- 25:16I was trying to farm that account because I'm already
- 25:19doing her maintenance and I'm trying to break into the pools.
- 25:22I I don't know man, I don't know how I'm going to play this
- 25:25because I'd like to just snipe everybody and the people who
- 25:30have pools that already do. Hey, I'm breaking into pools.
- 25:33Let me do your thing. It'll be 1 service and you'll
- 25:34still get the discount on both. I don't know.
- 25:37I have no idea. I've never even like obviously
- 25:41if I've had a pool and I've done the, the hot tub maintenance as
- 25:44well, but I mean, I, I wouldn't even know where to start with
- 25:47the marketing. And I'll tell you what, these,
- 25:51these guys that pull up to these pools that I've been doing, they
- 25:54look like absolute just Cowboys shorts and flip flops and
- 25:59Oakley's. And it makes me so mad they're
- 26:02wearing Oakley's because I'm wearing knock off Oakley's and
- 26:05they're not. And I'm like, we're doing the
- 26:08same, the same dollar per hour for 1/10 of the work.
- 26:15But that's my mistake. And that's, that's what I'm
- 26:19going to focus on next is I don't even know, trying to
- 26:22figure out, come up with some kind of, I don't know, some kind
- 26:26of saving issue that I can actually buy all the equipment
- 26:30and, and just just straight up break into it because I don't, I
- 26:33don't know what else to do. I don't know how he would react
- 26:38to me seeing if he has any stuff to sell equipment wise.
- 26:45But you know that time lapse, that 43,000 photo time lapse I
- 26:49did that was for Seminole Pool Supply.
- 26:52Oh, OK. So I know.
- 26:55Yeah. And they just broke into the
- 26:57roofing business. He just got his roofing license.
- 27:00That is the weirdest transition. Maybe not the weirdest, but
- 27:04that's that's up. There he's I.
- 27:06Pool cleaning to. He did not yet.
- 27:08I mean, he did paver like he does just about anything.
- 27:11Oh. OK.
- 27:12I thought he was just a pool supplier, like he was the guy
- 27:15who supplied this stuff. He.
- 27:16Goes they do pool cleaning and maintenance and all that.
- 27:21Stuff he It's the same thing I. Guess yeah, Yeah.
- 27:23Roofing still. And then roofing pavers and
- 27:27concrete work. I mean, this guy is.
- 27:30He also said he never expected to grow this big.
- 27:34Yeah. Like that was not something he
- 27:36wanted to do. Yeah, pinch a penny's scared of
- 27:37them. Yeah, I, I went to pool supply
- 27:40for my stuff. Like that's I, I don't think
- 27:42I've ever even walked into a pinch a penny.
- 27:44Kevin and his wife are two of the nicest, most reasonable
- 27:50people I've ever met. They're just, I was having those
- 27:54issues with my computer. Oh yeah, As you fully well know.
- 27:58Yeah, I I would have thrown a monitor ready.
- 28:00I don't. Know how to throw my computer
- 28:01out the way? I don't know how you did.
- 28:03I don't know how you you. But I kept, I kept telling him,
- 28:06hey, listen, this is this is what's going on.
- 28:10Yeah. And he kept saying, dude, take
- 28:12your time. I'm not worried about.
- 28:14Yeah. And but yeah, so.
- 28:17How long was the time lapse in total like for the?
- 28:20Minute and 15 seconds 43. 1000 photos was a minute and what?
- 28:2615 seconds. Unbelievable.
- 28:28I now. Granted, I cut out about half
- 28:33the photos each day per camera. Yeah, because they did not have
- 28:38any action in them because I had two cameras set up on two
- 28:42different sides of property. And so they would work on this
- 28:45half 1/2 of the day and then they work on this half the other
- 28:49half of the day. So this camera was just shooting
- 28:53just in case, because I didn't know where they were starting
- 28:56from, where they were going to end up.
- 28:58So I had just two cameras running the whole day, 2 days.
- 29:01That's experience because I wouldn't have even thought to
- 29:04put a secondary for a bat. I'd have just been like, yeah,
- 29:06this one will get them and then oh shit, they're they're not in
- 29:11frame for two days. Awesome.
- 29:13No, that's anyway. Yeah, that's just, that's just
- 29:18what I chose to do. And yeah, I, I added AI,
- 29:22probably added about 20,000 photos that I didn't need to
- 29:25work with, but. A minute and 15 is crazy.
- 29:31Yeah, that's what I worked it down to.
- 29:33And it was, at least. I probably had about 30 minutes
- 29:37worth of time lapse footage. I mean like the total like you
- 29:42working on it like 12 hours at least maybe like so.
- 29:49Yeah, it was probably close to that.
- 29:51The actual editing of the video did not take nearly that long.
- 29:55And I mean like the issues with the computer and everything.
- 29:57Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
- 29:58Like 'cause that's. Part of the main the main part
- 30:00of the issues was Adobe would crash my computer when I tried
- 30:06to render files. Oh yeah, it just, it would just
- 30:10blue screen, just I get halfway done rendering this file and
- 30:15it's just gone. Just all the progress.
- 30:18So yeah, it took forever to get it done because I had so many
- 30:23crashes. I had to restart on certain
- 30:26renderings and stuff but managed to get through it.
- 30:30That's another thing with the freaking pool cleaners.
- 30:32So my equipment broke. It's out there right now.
- 30:35You saw it. It's in half a motors halfway
- 30:38out of my equipment and this was.
- 30:41I touched a part of a motor that I shouldn't be touching.
- 30:43Yeah, it's, it's bare and it's sad.
- 30:45Yeah. So it's very sad.
- 30:46There's a part on the living room table, so I think that was
- 30:52Thursday maybe. And it's funny because, like I
- 30:57was telling you, I was using that as a backup because the
- 31:01mower threw a belt. You know who doesn't have to
- 31:04deal with belts throwing and motors crashing pool?
- 31:07Cleaners. The pool guys, Oh no, my brush
- 31:11broke. I got to go get a $12.00
- 31:13replacement head. Like what was I thinking?
- 31:17Why did nobody. Hey, man, before you spend 10
- 31:21grand getting a brand new Husqvarna like full package, why
- 31:26don't you think about doing like I don't anything else like, and
- 31:32now that I'm coming up on four years, everything's starting to
- 31:35be 4 years old. You mean tires have changed on
- 31:38the mower in four years? None.
- 31:42Not one. Yeah, So that's coming up.
- 31:45I already I can already hear it. There goes one.
- 31:48There goes another. Because I ran over a thorn and
- 31:50it went through both tires on both side.
- 31:53Yeah. No, I've already, I've already
- 31:57snapped the wheels off the deck 10 times and haven't replaced
- 32:01them, so that's already there. And then the belt, I've already
- 32:05replaced both belts. That one was Thursday.
- 32:08I've had to replace the seat completely because it just, it
- 32:12completely fell apart. One of my fenders is completely
- 32:17ripped off. My dad.
- 32:20This is my very expensive mower. Yeah, crazy expensive mower.
- 32:28The first, the very first time he used it, he went around the
- 32:32corner and he was around the corner for like 10 minutes.
- 32:36It's a regular like 4 bedroom house.
- 32:39I have no idea where he went for 10 minutes, but he came back and
- 32:44half the Fender was completely ripped off and I'm like hey man,
- 32:47hey what the hell happened? He's like, I caught the thing
- 32:52and it ripped it and before I could notice it literally tore
- 32:55it completely off and he's like, I was trying to put it back on
- 32:59and now it's just two, two pieces.
- 33:01It's like it's fine, don't worry about it.
- 33:03Don't worry about it. Yeah, completely ripped the, the
- 33:06fairing off. I was like, OK, OK, moving on.
- 33:11The I, I've never seen a, a pool guy change a belt or have to
- 33:17replace half a motor on a peripheral.
- 33:20And it's like, come on. I've never seen a pool guy shoot
- 33:2343,000 photos for a minute and a half of work.
- 33:28Well. We're so dumb.
- 33:31We live in Florida. Well, do you know how much work
- 33:36I did for those guys doing that paperwork?
- 33:40No. Like, I I probably did less work
- 33:45on getting those photos done than those guys did for the
- 33:48paperwork. Well, yeah, the cameras were set
- 33:51up for 25 hours. Yeah, ish.
- 33:54Roughly speaking like they did crazy amounts of work yes Now
- 34:00granted owner came out you know couple times a day just to check
- 34:05on them see if they needed anything and then jump back in
- 34:08his Ford light brand new Ford Lightning.
- 34:12Is that the EV? Yeah, that's a lot.
- 34:15That's a lot. Yeah, that's too much.
- 34:17He I can't pull up to a job site and that.
- 34:19I'll get I'll. Get run out of town with a
- 34:22pitchfork. Oh yeah.
- 34:23You can't do that pulls. Up.
- 34:25You better pull up Ford Lightning.
- 34:27Oh no, not a scratch. Freshly washed Ford Lightning.
- 34:32I had a boss. Well, he's these poor guys are
- 34:36drenched in sweat. I had a boss who after years of
- 34:42no raises for the whole company, there's like 50-60 people
- 34:46working there. It was like 3 years where nobody
- 34:49of course, but the executives got a raise.
- 34:53They got their bonus, not a raise.
- 34:55So nobody gets a bonus, Nobody gets a raise.
- 34:57You leave the Christmas party with a raffled prize or you
- 35:02leave with nothing. He pulls up not with his 2006
- 35:10fully limited edition expedition that he got 10 years ago.
- 35:17He pulls up in a brand new Raptor when they came out.
- 35:20Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:23You've never heard such chatter from the peanut gallery.
- 35:27Good God, man, these guys are running around in like 2008
- 35:32escapes that are literally falling apart like like the tie
- 35:38rods are snapping so the tires are are literally snapping to
- 35:41the right on the highway like. Should be fair that happens on
- 35:44brand new Ford Escapes. This is true.
- 35:46So imagine their scare every morning coming to work in an O 8
- 35:51when? Is it going to happen?
- 35:53And it's it's guaranteed. I'm the guy when I was there who
- 35:56took care of this stuff. So these guys would come to me
- 35:59and they're like, hey, man, my Ford exploded on the highway and
- 36:06I'm like, hey, no problem. They're like, no problem.
- 36:09I'm like, yeah, let me, let me get it in.
- 36:11I remember one we got it in and the, the guy who I had working
- 36:14on him for years that he was my guy.
- 36:17He was the manager of the the wherever we were taking him at
- 36:21the time, Gator or tire or who cares?
- 36:24And he was like, hey man, not great.
- 36:29I was like, not great. I was like, I, I, yeah, I
- 36:32assumed he goes, no, it's, it's way worse.
- 36:36He goes. It wasn't anything to do with
- 36:39the drivetrain or, or not the drivetrain, the the suspension,
- 36:44the the rock, the roller arms, any of that stuff.
- 36:48He goes a hole has appeared in the block.
- 36:52What? Yeah.
- 36:53Just. Boo exploded, blew out the block
- 36:58upper. Cadabra hole appears.
- 37:00I'm talking probably a 2 inch by two inch hole.
- 37:03And I mean you can see the piston shaft through this hole
- 37:08fully, fully blew out the side of this box.
- 37:12So I was like, what do you want to do?
- 37:16He goes, well, it's going to need a motor.
- 37:17I was like, yeah, obviously it's going to need a motor.
- 37:21What would you like to do? He goes it's it's like 100 or
- 37:25260,000 miles. Why would you ever put a new
- 37:28motor in this just for the tie rod to snap for you to snap on
- 37:32the highway. I'm like, yeah, I agree.
- 37:34He goes, so a new motor. Yeah, exactly.
- 37:37So at that time, this is when the market was losing its mind
- 37:41because of COVID. He goes, you can put 3 or 4
- 37:45grand into this new motor or not new, but new to you motor.
- 37:51You can do the suspension, you can do this, you can do that.
- 37:53You can even replace the driver's seat that's been
- 37:55collapsed for 60,000 miles and that the guys have literally
- 37:59felt every Pebble on the road for a year.
- 38:03And as we're talking, he goes, so this is the breakdown and
- 38:07monthly, if you obviously get it all now monthly it comes out to
- 38:10$136 a month for the next however many years you keep the
- 38:14vehicle if you do this. So we get it and we take care of
- 38:20it and they put a new, I think it's a lower end and they take
- 38:24the top end and put it on the lower end and they put it back
- 38:26in and it's, I don't know, 2600 and after labor it's 4100.
- 38:31And that's our budget. So we don't replace the
- 38:35suspension. You brought the vid back.
- 38:37I can hear it. So they don't replace the
- 38:40suspension, the tie rods, none of that stuff.
- 38:45Like 3 months later the 2000 and six F-150 that I'm driving for,
- 38:51the company absolutely explodes and dumps transmission fluid
- 38:57everywhere. I'm towing a trailer from Miami
- 39:01up back up to the shop in Sanford.
- 39:05It's probably a three hour run, but it's a big trailer, dual
- 39:09axle, 2020 foot, 22 foot, and it's fully loaded.
- 39:15We closed an office in Miami, so it is fully loaded with the most
- 39:20important, most expensive stuff and it weighs enough to squat
- 39:24the axle. So I've been telling it for
- 39:26three hours. I'm not kidding.
- 39:28I got to the airport, I was 4 miles from the shop and it it
- 39:33literally just goes boom and shimmies a little and then the
- 39:37RPM tacks out because the engine is free flying with nothing
- 39:42holding it back. So it slams up to like 6 Ki back
- 39:46off and it just slowly grinds. Not even grind, just free flow
- 39:50to a halt off to the side of the road.
- 39:52I'm 4 miles from the shop so they get it in and I'm like what
- 39:57do you want to do? He goes.
- 40:01It's got 280,000 miles. It's an O6 quad cab.
- 40:04It's got the the Crew Cab. Are you kidding me right now?
- 40:11I'm sorry, I need a water. So there's a beer right there.
- 40:16So we get the we get the quote back.
- 40:18You'll never guess what it is. It's $4600 for a new
- 40:22transmission. And it's not a transmission.
- 40:25It's a Jasper baby. So Harlan Beverly, they're the
- 40:29ones that did it. They subbed it out and Harlan
- 40:32Beverly did it for it came out to like 42 after they, it was
- 40:37like 48 and came out to like 42. But they put a new Jasper quote
- 40:42UN quote, racing transmission and an O6F-150 with 280,000
- 40:49miles. Why the last time?
- 40:52Because he was right. Over the course of the lifetime
- 40:56of this vehicle, you'll pay $136 a month.
- 41:00If you get a new truck, it's 900 a month because you're not
- 41:03getting a new truck, you're getting a new commercial truck.
- 41:06That's for a company. So it's, it's 900.
- 41:10And this is, this is 2020-2021. We're talking $100,000 regular
- 41:16work trucks here. And so he was like, listen, put
- 41:20it in and pray the motor stays. And as he's saying it, I know
- 41:25full well the rear main seal is pouring oil.
- 41:28I know that I drive it. It's like, so that was that was
- 41:34my just absolute what are we doing here with this company?
- 41:38And it it does make sense. But you know who never had to
- 41:43replace a Jasper transmission or a blown out block?
- 41:47The pool guys. They pull up on a bicycle or a
- 41:52quad for that matter, a freaking tricycle.
- 41:56And they can run their chlorine and scrub the pull because they,
- 41:59I, I don't know if you know this, they don't take the
- 42:02peripherals with them. They just take the chemicals out
- 42:05of their truck into the So they leave the net and the scrubber
- 42:08at the client's house so they could pull up on a motorcycle.
- 42:12Because I'm an idiot. Anyway, that was my rant on the
- 42:18pool guys. I got very upset about that
- 42:20earlier. There's some good stuff there
- 42:23though. I just wish anybody, anybody,
- 42:27somebody besides the CPA, because I didn't listen to him.
- 42:31No matter what he said, I still don't listen to him.
- 42:33I should I, I wish anybody would have been like, hey man, I hear
- 42:38you're starting a business. Congrats.
- 42:40Maybe just not that business. I wish somebody would have said,
- 42:45hey man, you're going to, you're going to spend more money on the
- 42:48truck you're driving then you'll ever, ever dream of making.
- 42:54Just just keep your money, put it into chlorine, put it into,
- 42:57put it into Seminole pool supply stock and you'll, you'll get a
- 43:01return way better than what you would have done.
- 43:04And it's so funny I hear so many people say the same thing.
- 43:06They're like, I never should have got into the restaurant or
- 43:10I never should have done this. I never should have opened a
- 43:12salon. And then you asking me like, all
- 43:15right, would you go back to your last job?
- 43:16And they're like, God, no, Oh my God, never.
- 43:20Even if the whole management was fired, I'd never go back to my
- 43:23old job. It's this is great.
- 43:25I love this. It's like we're such we're so
- 43:28spoiled. I can't imagine I would be such
- 43:32a prima Donna if I was a pool cleaner.
- 43:35No I'm not. I'm not going outside.
- 43:37It's it's above 90 today. It's like the pools are fine.
- 43:41I can get them tomorrow, they'll be fine.
- 43:43I'd be one of those guys that wore the the Dyson air vac, the
- 43:49the necklace with a Mr. Oh my God, it's so hot today.
- 43:55Oh my God the the landscapers still here.
- 43:58Carrying a A fan. A paper fan.
- 44:03Oh my God, it makes me so happy just thinking about it.
- 44:09So I wish you luck with that. Yeah, soon, soon.
- 44:13I know you're just you're just breaking into your your thing
- 44:17now. But what's your next step?
- 44:19Five year plan? Give me, give me quick.
- 44:22Well, five year plan would be doing it full time.
- 44:27Oh yeah. So.
- 44:29That's a given. I don't know, because I've kind
- 44:34of left it open. I'm willing to basically do
- 44:40whatever version of photography, videography I need to.
- 44:46So I don't. I'm not like niching down
- 44:48necessarily. That was my next thing.
- 44:51If you were offered a six figure deal, whether that means exactly
- 44:56100 grand or 999999 to be a Youtubers main videographer for
- 45:03his channel and I'm talking you follow him around Jinxy Sade,
- 45:09what's the other? Guy's name?
- 45:10I'd be willing to. What's the other guy's name?
- 45:13I don't sketch. I was like Sade.
- 45:14I don't remember the other guy's name, Jinxy or Sketch.
- 45:18If they're like I'm I'll give you 6 figures, but you got to
- 45:21move here. You got to live in the streamer
- 45:22house. You got a we're waking up at
- 45:257:00, we're going to bed at 7. Like there's a 24 hour run every
- 45:30day. Anything I tell you to do, you
- 45:33got to ride. Probably not.
- 45:35You got to do the dumb shit. You got to have the, you know
- 45:37what I mean? Yeah, that with those
- 45:39stipulations now. No, I'm good.
- 45:42I'll make 52 grand. I was going to say, so it's not,
- 45:45it's not the money. It's not no.
- 45:48OK. I mean, with the right, with the
- 45:50right gig, sure. Like I'll take, I'll take the
- 45:54money. Like, Oh yeah, MLB offers me,
- 45:58you know, a similar thing where I follow a team and do their
- 46:01like like something like Hard Knocks for the NFL.
- 46:05Absolutely. I will do that all day long It
- 46:09or Hard Knocks if I were to be asked to do like a behind the
- 46:14scenes Hard Knocks, you know, 100 grand a year.
- 46:17Absolutely. Is that like The Ultimate
- 46:19Fighter? No.
- 46:20So Hard Knocks is the like. The owner.
- 46:23Behind the scenes of the football season for a football
- 46:27team in the NFL. OK so the only thing I've ever
- 46:31seen like BTS for a sports thing would be like Ultimate Fighter
- 46:38like back when Chael Sonnen in. Oh, gotcha.
- 46:40No, Rampage Jackson, all those guys when they were doing that
- 46:43TV show, that's the only thing I compared.
- 46:45To but it's it's less reality TV OK and more documentary style.
- 46:54Oh my God, that was the best. SO watching Ultimate Fighter and
- 46:57then switching over to Blue Mountain State.
- 47:00Oh my God, after the party, like the day after a party when
- 47:03you're already done for like what a what a day in what a day
- 47:07in your sunburn from the beach trip and then you come home and
- 47:10get smashed and then the next day it's all bed all day.
- 47:14I'm playing Guitar Hero with Ultimate Fighter and Jersey
- 47:17Shore in between. It's like, what a sounds awful.
- 47:20What a piece of trash I was. Sounds awful.
- 47:24I would do that tomorrow. I know you would, pool guy.
- 47:31Eating my trail mix and Bush lights after a a a chili Mac
- 47:36dinner. Jesus Christ.
- 47:38I have to eat yet. Still hungry?
- 47:41Yeah. But no, like, yeah, I, I, I
- 47:45would like to, I hopefully I can land this gig, this contract I
- 47:54pitched already to somebody, I'm not going to say the name, but
- 47:59the assisted living facility downtown.
- 48:06And she sounded very interested in my work.
- 48:10I actually use the, the time lapse as a thing of my skill.
- 48:17And she was very impressed by it.
- 48:19And so basically she kind of gave me a timeline ask and said,
- 48:24well, this is what we have to do.
- 48:25And then I've got a call for a photographer to do real estate
- 48:30style stuff to bring in new clients for this assisted
- 48:35living. I looked at the condos like 2
- 48:39buildings over from that assisted living.
- 48:41Do you know what they're running for?
- 48:42Like a 11. Oh, they're like crazy.
- 48:46It's like 500 K Yeah, it's unbelievable.
- 48:49So Amber and I were looking at condos 10 years ago.
- 48:53That was what we're going to do first.
- 48:54We were going to get a condo right there on the water, right
- 48:57there. That building, you know which
- 48:59one I'm talking about that building.
- 49:01And they were 2:30 and we're like, that's crazy.
- 49:04You can get a regular condo for 70 right now.
- 49:07This was 2016 and we thought that was insane.
- 49:11I'm like, I'm not paying 2:30 for a freaking 11900 or 800
- 49:16square foot condo. And now they're 500 grand a
- 49:21condo, 800 square foot condo on a lake.
- 49:27It's not even the ocean like. But then again, that might
- 49:31actually be where we're going because all the condos on the
- 49:34beach right now are literally either falling over or they're
- 49:38having $1,000,000 renegotiations with the tenants and saying,
- 49:43hey, if we don't get $1,000,000 in our safety fund right now,
- 49:48they're literally going to shut this place down.
- 49:50Like full on the state will take it like and that was that was
- 49:58after Daytona Beach was terrible.
- 49:59Yeah, terrible. Well, I showed you when I went
- 50:02down there, I showed you the the bottom of the balconies on the
- 50:05condo that I used to live in or the the timeshare that I used to
- 50:09stay in. But yeah, the like it's all like
- 50:12that the whole place, every single place.
- 50:13Like if it's not brand new, it looks, it's, it's from the 60s,
- 50:17like it's, it's getting up there.
- 50:19It's what is it 80 years old? No, I mean 60 years old.
- 50:23So I mean, it's. It's getting up there.
- 50:25Yeah, it's. And I don't know, man, maybe
- 50:27that was the right idea, getting a condo on a lake somewhat
- 50:30protected inland off this. I mean, you're still 45 minutes
- 50:34from the beach, but. Yeah, you're not terrible.
- 50:36I mean, I mean, it's a beautiful view out there it.
- 50:39Is it's, it's just, it's. I think if maybe that's the way
- 50:43to go assessment, that's the word.
- 50:45I was thinking they're doing $1,000,000 assessments on these
- 50:48properties and it's just, I don't know.
- 50:50And that building's better than 90% of the buildings that you'll
- 50:54ever find along the Atlantic Ocean.
- 50:57Yeah, some of the stuff that I've stayed in, I was like, holy
- 51:01shit. Like a lot of the staircases
- 51:04going on to the beach, This is recent, within the last five or
- 51:07six years. They've just destroyed them.
- 51:09They're like, it's a liability. Somebody's going to get hurt.
- 51:12It's going to fall when we're not here.
- 51:14Just tear them all down. And now nearly every staircase
- 51:18that used to be concrete coming off of the the pads where the
- 51:21old condos used to be, they just tore them all down.
- 51:24Yeah, it's it's so it's so weird, man.
- 51:26Living here for 30 plus years and just seeing it all and all
- 51:32the development and then seeing the beach development is a weird
- 51:36one too. Like that.
- 51:37That is such a strange like I don't even know how how to
- 51:42explain it because it's nostalgic too.
- 51:44Like that was our that was our place.
- 51:47Like I was one of those kids that would leave school, grab
- 51:50all of his boys and we'd run to the beach every day.
- 51:53Like that was my my whole thing. And it's just so weird to see it
- 51:58from then to now. Like it's nothing like it was
- 52:02and it it makes sense. I mean, literally like the, the
- 52:04frickin condo fell over. Like there was some shit with
- 52:08that, like, Oh yeah. And now they're like, OK, nobody
- 52:11gets to have any fun ever at all.
- 52:13Like that was too much. We let y'all have way too much
- 52:17rope and you, you whipped us with it.
- 52:20Like that's enough. So I I get it.
- 52:22And. Like property expense is.
- 52:25With the insurance. It's like it's not just just
- 52:28purchasing an undeveloped plot of land or Oh yeah, something
- 52:32where a building was torn down and it's just an empty lot now
- 52:35is almost not even worth it to put a building there.
- 52:39No, you never. Well.
- 52:42The insurance, well, like the taxes are insane.
- 52:45Yeah, on that insurance alone, Yeah, on that without a building
- 52:51on that. Without a mortgage, yeah, yeah,
- 52:53I couldn't, I couldn't imagine building anywhere in Florida
- 52:56right now. I don't know how these guys are
- 52:58doing it. I I do know now that I say that
- 53:00they're quantity, they build 1000 of these and that's they're
- 53:06fine, but I just, I, I can't understand it how these can't
- 53:12remember the term, but it's like they only build about 40 houses
- 53:15at a time. They're like private.
- 53:17Yeah, I think that's what it is. I think it's private builders.
- 53:20They build like 40 houses at a time.
- 53:21I have no idea how they do it. I have no clue how they make a
- 53:25dime. I, I went by one the other day.
- 53:27These things were 499. These houses that they built
- 53:31were 499 three months ago, five months ago.
- 53:35I go by the same place. It's 299.
- 53:39I I don't understand how they make a dime.
- 53:42I I feel like they're losing their shirt.
- 53:45It's like two O 2008 all over again.
- 53:47Like we go back and we're like, oh, I saw that.
- 53:49I watched that happen like I watched him go bankrupt.
- 53:52That's insane to think about like and it's true.
- 53:56The taxes, the insurance, the the mortgage that they have on
- 53:59this place is insane because the interest rates, like I'll never
- 54:03understand how these guys are building houses.
- 54:05I don't get it. I told you about that property
- 54:08in Miami. No.
- 54:10Two-story, I think it was like a Tutu, 2 story Tutu, skinny
- 54:15little place, condemned. You can't live there.
- 54:20You can't do anything with it. It's an immediate tear down or a
- 54:23burn down. It's 500 grand.
- 54:25Oh. My God, yeah.
- 54:26You can't even live in it. You can't do anything with it.
- 54:28You can't go inside the house. You can buy the property with a
- 54:32building on it and immediately you are told by the city, you
- 54:36have 30 days, tear it down, burn it down.
- 54:39You got to do something because you can't have it on the
- 54:40property because it's a it's a liability and all, even though
- 54:45the city owns it, they're fine. But as soon as you buy it, so
- 54:50literally 500 grand for I think it was like a, a Third Point, 3
- 54:56acres. Oh.
- 54:57God. And you got, you got to pay the
- 54:59expense to tear it down and burn it down and haul it away and all
- 55:01the environmental that comes with that.
- 55:03And then you got to worry about everybody's gas line, power,
- 55:05water, everything like. And then and then do.
- 55:08Something with it, yeah. Yeah.
- 55:11I I have no idea how people are doing this.
- 55:14It doesn't make any sense to me. I just feel like I.
- 55:18Don't I don't understand. It's, it's got to be VCs that
- 55:21are just or the capital groups, they're just throwing money at
- 55:26stuff and that that's what they did in O8 or O5O6 that led to O
- 55:328. They're just, they're literally
- 55:33just the more places we have, the better it looks on our
- 55:37books, the better our stock goes up.
- 55:38We buy back stocks and then. Well, a major issue with O8,
- 55:47which I don't, I don't think it's necessarily happening right
- 55:50now, but it feels like it it could be, is the banks were just
- 55:56giving loans. Yep, everybody has one.
- 55:58Oh, yeah, yeah, no, no. And that was the.
- 56:00Major reason for for the crash, I think it was the banks.
- 56:05There was no collateral for any of the loans.
- 56:07I think it was literally called no income loans.
- 56:09Yeah, like they. Just don't care.
- 56:12Take take this $500,000. Loan.
- 56:15Oh my God. For no reason whatsoever, just
- 56:17have all the money for no reason.
- 56:19And that's and then people stopped paying it and there was
- 56:22no collateral and they had nothing.
- 56:24Houses were quote UN quote affordable, like like it
- 56:29happened when it was quote UN quote UN affordable.
- 56:32I cannot imagine now when these these banks have their books are
- 56:38literally just houses that are three times more valuable than
- 56:42they actually are. And I'm I'm glad they put some
- 56:46kind of something on it, but I, I still don't think all that was
- 56:48right. I think I think a lot more
- 56:51people should have went to jail. I think one guy, one person for
- 56:57the entire global economy crash. One guy went to jail and I think
- 57:02it was because he was a whistle blower.
- 57:07That doesn't sound right. Yeah, that does not sound right
- 57:10at. All, I think it was one guy and
- 57:13I think he was a whistleblower or some, somebody got stuck with
- 57:16something and he had no idea what was in his portfolio.
- 57:20And they're just like, oh, you still got your hands on it, come
- 57:22here, give it, come here. And that's because everybody
- 57:25else had the wherewithal. Did it's radioactive.
- 57:28Get it out of the building. Like not even red and burn.
- 57:31Yeah, don't even get it off the books.
- 57:32Get it off the building. Like I I don't want anything to
- 57:35ever. Throw it through that shredder
- 57:37and then burn whatever's. And then take the Treader
- 57:40outside like get it out of the building.
- 57:42Yeah, it's gone. So make it disappear.
- 57:44I think that whole thing was an absolute.
- 57:47It's not like we have to freaking talk about it.
- 57:49It's been talked about 1000 times, but a million times.
- 57:52But obviously the one who hates the banks thinks it was bad.
- 57:57Yeah, I think the bank should have had.
- 57:59Yeah, no shit. If you, if you cut out all the
- 58:05expletives that I say, this might actually be the closest
- 58:08thing to a family friendly episode we have.
- 58:10Like, and we could actually do something with that.
- 58:12But no, I, I you're going to have to edit it.
- 58:15I don't care. Cut it out and make it.
- 58:16I'm, I'm say something else. Holy sunshine.
- 58:23Now that seems like a lot of work.
- 58:26No offense but he. Said editing 43,000 pictures for
- 58:30a minute and 15 seconds. I could do like 1000 at a time
- 58:36and it just took a few clicks the the rendering is what took
- 58:40the longest. After it stopped blue screening.
- 58:42After well you were it would I would get through like 6 or 7000
- 58:47photos rendered out and then it just blue screened.
- 58:50Well, that's my thing. Like, gone.
- 58:51You know who doesn't have to worry about blue screening and
- 58:53and and engines exploding? Cool guys.
- 58:57Exactly. Like they don't have to have
- 58:59extra equipment that I'm just going to keep going back to this
- 59:02until I am one and then I'm going to be like, they're the
- 59:04best. They're so cool.
- 59:05You need to have a pool guys. Like you're going to be like,
- 59:08Nah, this other. Yeah, why didn't nobody tell me?
- 59:11Why didn't? Nobody tell me this other thing.
- 59:15Oh, it's so stupid. Don't ever be a pool guy.
- 59:17Hated it. I I'm just gaslighting people.
- 59:23Landscaping's the best ever. I'm like, no, no, no.
- 59:25Definitely be a pool guy. They have it so much easier.
- 59:28Don't be a landscaper. Oh, Speaking of which, I noticed
- 59:31today, I noticed this like 10 times already, but I keep
- 59:33forgetting across the street, like literally your driveway,
- 59:39the 10 foot St. the next house that if you walk straight out of
- 59:43your front door, he's a landscaper.
- 59:46We knew that. I know him.
- 59:47We're cool. 2 houses down, that guy's a landscaper.
- 59:52Like 3 or 4 houses down that way the other direction.
- 59:55That guy's a landscaper. If you go down the street yeah
- 59:59so and don't turn like you're going out of the neighborhood,
- 1:00:03but go down that side street to the left yeah it's like every
- 1:00:083rd house there's a landscaping trailer yeah of.
- 1:00:11Course, yeah. No, this, this, this
- 1:00:14neighborhood. What is happening?
- 1:00:17They're like ants. They're everywhere.
- 1:00:19It's. So weird I've never like I've
- 1:00:21I've had it where like I had a guy 4 houses down for me when I
- 1:00:25started mine. He was a landscaper and then in
- 1:00:29in the last house we were in, there was a guy 4 houses down.
- 1:00:33He was a landscaper house before that.
- 1:00:35He was probably like 2 streets over.
- 1:00:37But yeah, they're, they're pretty hard packed in there.
- 1:00:39I've never seen it like this. There's literally like there's
- 1:00:42four guys in my view, in my sight line of sight.
- 1:00:46And then if you turn down the next Rd. there's another 3 or 4.
- 1:00:49It's crazy. I think it's something about
- 1:00:51this area. Everybody just wants their
- 1:00:53business, man. It's it's freaking it's, it's
- 1:00:57downtown. I don't even know gumption.
- 1:01:00Like we just, we see it and we're like, I got to have it.
- 1:01:03Like I'm not, I'm not dealing with this jerk off every day.
- 1:01:07I'm done. I'm doing my own thing.
- 1:01:09I'm starting my own business. And for some reason, for some
- 1:01:13reason, we all immediately go to landscaping in Florida.
- 1:01:17Like I had I had managers back at UPS.
- 1:01:21This was 15 years ago and they were like no, if I ever leave
- 1:01:25UPS, I'm doing landscaping. The easiest thing I've ever
- 1:01:28thought of. Like I'm doing landscaping and
- 1:01:30I. Mean it's a lot of work.
- 1:01:31Oh. My God, you see it's.
- 1:01:34You, you get like, you see the progress being done.
- 1:01:39Yeah. You, you see visually see work
- 1:01:43being done and you can see how much you have left.
- 1:01:45Yeah. So that's a benefit in and of
- 1:01:49itself 'cause you see how much left you have.
- 1:01:52And you you see what you've already done.
- 1:01:54Oh my God, is that autism? Yeah.
- 1:01:56Oh. My God, is that what that is?
- 1:01:59There's also the fact that I don't think there is enough
- 1:02:05landscapers to do the amount of landscaping actual landscaping
- 1:02:08work there is. No, definitely not.
- 1:02:10Because yeah, you have the guys that do the bare minimum and
- 1:02:14stuff. Yeah, but the actual amount of
- 1:02:18need in Florida, not necessarily need, but want for proper
- 1:02:23landscaping is unreal. It's unbelievable.
- 1:02:27It's never ending. Yeah.
- 1:02:28And that's. I gotta take a breath.
- 1:02:33That's why I started it, because I told you this the other day.
- 1:02:38I called I think 20 companies and I got like 1 to respond and
- 1:02:44then the guy who responded didn't even take the job.
- 1:02:47He just told me about another guy who he works with who could
- 1:02:50take the job. When I called that guy, we
- 1:02:54talked for like 4 days. He's like, yeah, no problem,
- 1:02:56definitely. Of course, no problem.
- 1:02:58The day comes, he doesn't show up.
- 1:03:00He has yet to text me back for like 8 months.
- 1:03:04Oh my gosh, 20 companies listed on Google with reviews.
- 1:03:08Of course if they have 0 reviews, I'm not calling.
- 1:03:10Yeah, these guys have reviews, they have photos, they have
- 1:03:13updates, they have they have company hours, they have an E
- 1:03:17probably a website. If you got a website and
- 1:03:20reviews, I'll call you. If not, ain't gonna happen
- 1:03:22because I already I don't need to.
- 1:03:23I already know. So these guys are quote UN quote
- 1:03:28established and it's still I got I literally I literally had to
- 1:03:33wait a week and just do it myself anyways.
- 1:03:35I can't I cannot believe it. There's there's so many people
- 1:03:39doing it and nobody's doing it like it's, it's a secret society
- 1:03:43or something. And I, I don't understand.
- 1:03:45I feel like I'm not in the club like because nobody else calls
- 1:03:48me. Like for other work.
- 1:03:51I never get like subcontracted ever.
- 1:03:54Nobody ever calls me and they're like, hey man, I need a hand.
- 1:03:57I'm too busy. Never happens, but I'm the only
- 1:04:01one that's going hey, man, I'm stacked for like 4 the next 4
- 1:04:04weeks. I can't possibly make another
- 1:04:06account like work. Can you please take care of it
- 1:04:08for me? I'll pay you.
- 1:04:10They'll pay you. I pay you like I won't make any
- 1:04:13money. I just need this account.
- 1:04:15I never hear back from them. I feel like I'm.
- 1:04:17I'm going insane. Yeah.
- 1:04:18You know who doesn't have to deal with this?
- 1:04:21Guys. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:04:27Hated it.
