- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:08Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:12Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Tammy Hembrough
- 0:15Speaker 1: and Matt Zukowski are officially husband and wife and the
- 0:19Speaker 1: privacy debate.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Surrounding Liam Payne's funeral.
- 0:22Speaker 1: But first, there's an influencer story that would normally be
- 0:25Speaker 1: headlining our show. But due to legal reasons, we have
- 0:28Speaker 1: to be careful about how we discuss it. Yeah, so
- 0:31Speaker 1: what we can say is a Queensland influencer prolific on
- 0:34Speaker 1: TikTok is being investigated for child harm against her toddler.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's been confirmed that the one-year-old was placed in foster
- 0:41Speaker 1: care on the 21st of October after medical staff reported
- 0:45Speaker 1: serious concerns. Now, the medical staff raised the alarm, suspecting
- 0:49Speaker 1: it could be a case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
- 0:52Speaker 1: which is a psychological disorder in which a caregiver allegedly
- 0:56Speaker 1: abuses a child and presents them as sick. Now, Queensland
- 0:59Speaker 1: police have released a statement saying that they have taken
- 1:01Speaker 1: action to protect the child and have commenced an investigation.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Their statement continued saying, as this is an active investigation,
- 1:08Speaker 1: it would be inappropriate to provide further comment. At a
- 1:12Speaker 1: press conference, South Brisbane District Chief Superintendent Andrew Pilotto described
- 1:16Speaker 1: the investigation as protracted and complicated, adding, It will take
- 1:20Speaker 1: a bit of time, but I can assure you the
- 1:22Speaker 1: child is safe whilst the investigation is ongoing. Since the
- 1:26Speaker 1: news broke, the family's social media accounts have been taken down.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's important to note the charges are yet to be laid.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Despite all of this, the influencer in question has broken
- 1:36Speaker 1: her silence talking to Nine News. She said it's so
- 1:40Speaker 1: unfair and it's getting addressed at the moment without the
- 1:42Speaker 1: proper counsel. When quizzed further, she said, I can't speak
- 1:45Speaker 1: too much. I will get my lawyer to contact you.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I do really appreciate the call. The reporter asked then
- 1:51Speaker 1: if she had harmed her daughter, to which she replied,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I can't talk to you. I've said this is a
- 1:56Speaker 1: matter that cannot be spoken on, which is strange because
- 1:58Speaker 1: why take the phone call.
- 2:00Speaker 2: In the first place?
- 2:00Speaker 1: And I know a lot of people are going to
- 2:02Speaker 1: be disappointed that we're not talking about this story in
- 2:05Speaker 1: depth because there's a lot of people on TikTok talking
- 2:07Speaker 1: about it and naming the family. However, as this woman
- 2:10Speaker 1: is yet to be charged, we just can't name her.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And also this story is really complicated because the toddler
- 2:16Speaker 1: has been put into foster care and there are issues
- 2:18Speaker 1: around identifying her. This story really reminds me of the
- 2:22Speaker 1: Ruby Frankie case in the US. So she was an
- 2:24Speaker 1: influencer who was charged with child abuse. And a lot
- 2:28Speaker 1: of her followers were actually picking up on the signs
- 2:31Speaker 1: that things were not normal in the household. And it
- 2:35Speaker 1: was a very complicated story that played out in court.
- 2:38Speaker 1: So I'm interested to see what is going to happen
- 2:40Speaker 1: in the future with this, because as you said, Sophie,
- 2:43Speaker 1: it's so complicated now that the child has been taken
- 2:45Speaker 1: into foster care.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And it's going to be one that the mainstream media
- 2:48Speaker 1: will cover in depth. They've already shown their interest in
- 2:51Speaker 1: the story because they're reporting on it despite being able
- 2:54Speaker 1: to actually name this family. And what's interesting is is
- 2:57Speaker 1: the fact that the mother involved in this story is
- 3:00Speaker 1: actually actively talking to the media, which I find odd
- 3:03Speaker 1: because we've explained that the media are unable to name
- 3:06Speaker 1: her at the moment.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So if I was her, I'd be staying quiet.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I feel like it's going to be a really messy
- 3:10Speaker 1: one because this is an influencer family involved. There's already
- 3:13Speaker 1: a lot of influencer watchdog accounts who are naming the
- 3:16Speaker 1: family and also allowing people to comment on the news.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And on Saturday morning, influencers in the wild wrongly named
- 3:23Speaker 1: Sophia Begg and Jack Golding as the influencers involved. This
- 3:27Speaker 1: post was online for at least four hours and it
- 3:30Speaker 1: is just blatantly wrong. I mean, Sophia Begg doesn't even
- 3:32Speaker 1: have any children.
- 3:33Speaker 2: That's a US site, isn't it?
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah. So they must have got completely confused about the story.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They got their wires really crossed and this is a
- 3:40Speaker 1: blatant act of defamation. Surely Sophia Begg's legal team have
- 3:43Speaker 1: already got onto this. We know they were very proactive
- 3:46Speaker 1: in sending a legal threat to those influencers who were
- 3:49Speaker 1: set to release information about her and a friendship breakdown.
- 3:52Speaker 2: And her mum's a lawyer as well.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Well, these stories highlight how there are so many legalities
- 3:58Speaker 1: around sort of citizen reporting because a lot of these
- 4:01Speaker 1: people who run these pages, they are not journalists, they
- 4:04Speaker 1: don't understand the laws and they're really opening themselves up
- 4:07Speaker 1: to a lot of trouble because the reality is it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: not until this couple is charged that they are able
- 4:11Speaker 1: to be legally named. As well as the complexities surrounding
- 4:15Speaker 1: the foster situation as well. I just hope you know
- 4:20Speaker 1: marriage is a serious thing.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Yeah, you have said that to me before. It is actually.
- 4:25Speaker 1: a serious thing. And like, I hope you don't make
- 4:29Speaker 1: any mistakes. After months of breakup rumors and cheating allegations,
- 4:33Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough and Matt Sikowsky have defied the odds, tying
- 4:37Speaker 1: the knot in Byron Bay over the weekend. Controversially, the
- 4:40Speaker 1: Daily Mail were the first to publish photos of the
- 4:43Speaker 1: newly married couple allegedly flying a drone over the ceremony. Now, Sophie,
- 4:48Speaker 1: it's not totally surprising that the paparazzi were able to track.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Down this wedding.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Considering Sophia Begg accidentally leaked the invite months ago.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 4:57Speaker 1: She really did help out the Daily Mail in this
- 4:59Speaker 1: case because she shared a close-up photo of Tammy and
- 5:02Speaker 1: Matt's wedding invite in one of her vlogs back in May.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And I think she was just so overwhelmed and excited
- 5:08Speaker 1: to be invited that she forgot about What a big
- 5:10Speaker 1: deal this wedding was. Well, it seems like she's been
- 5:13Speaker 1: uninvited because she was nowhere to be seen at this wedding. Well,
- 5:17Speaker 1: I'm not surprised. I mean, they were talking about cutting numbers.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And clearly, if you're thinking about the first person to go,
- 5:23Speaker 1: it's the person who's made the lead up to the
- 5:25Speaker 1: wedding difficult for you. Because we know Matt was being
- 5:27Speaker 1: brutal about cutting the partners of some of his really
- 5:29Speaker 1: close friends. So surely, yeah, Sophia Begg was the first
- 5:32Speaker 1: to get a line through. How did Tammy and Sophia
- 5:34Speaker 1: even know each other? I assume through an influencer trip.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I mean, there's quite an age gap between them. Sophia
- 5:40Speaker 1: instead went to a 21st birthday party and it seemed
- 5:43Speaker 1: like she wanted her followers to know that she was
- 5:46Speaker 1: there and not at the wedding. Yeah, well, there were
- 5:48Speaker 1: a lot of influencers snapped arriving at this wedding. So
- 5:50Speaker 1: Ruby Tuesday Matthews was there. She was with her partner,
- 5:53Speaker 1: Shannon Dodd, Lily Brown and Jet Kenny, as well as
- 5:56Speaker 1: M Davies, who actually ignored the invite request not to
- 6:00Speaker 1: bring children because her daughter Isla was there. Because that's
- 6:02Speaker 1: something else we found. So once Sophia Begg leaked or
- 6:05Speaker 1: accidentally leaked the invite, It then led super sleuths to
- 6:09Speaker 1: locate the online wedding invite. And basically people saw that
- 6:13Speaker 1: children weren't allowed except her own children. And also everyone
- 6:17Speaker 1: was quite shocked to hear that she was having a
- 6:20Speaker 1: wishing well. I was on the other side of it though,
- 6:21Speaker 1: because I think it's fair enough to ask for money
- 6:23Speaker 1: at your wedding. Well, Tammy and Matt spoke recently about
- 6:26Speaker 1: the wishing well on his podcast. And they were saying
- 6:29Speaker 1: that there was no way that they expected guests to
- 6:31Speaker 1: give them $ 2, 000. They didn't know where that figure was. Well,
- 6:34Speaker 1: because that was a rumor that was on influencer updates.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I mean, Tammy has before said that that's absolutely ridiculous
- 6:39Speaker 1: and that she was getting a lot of requests with
- 6:41Speaker 1: people saying, what do you want for your wedding? And
- 6:43Speaker 1: it was easier to just say, let's do a wishing well. Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Back to the guests, Anna McAvoy, who's Matt's co-host on
- 6:49Speaker 1: his podcast. She attracted a lot of attention for the
- 6:52Speaker 1: dress that she chose to wear because it did have
- 6:55Speaker 1: a very large slit. It was quite revealing. It was
- 6:57Speaker 1: a blue gown. She was told that she was stealing
- 7:00Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough's thunder, which is quite ironic because when Anna
- 7:04Speaker 1: got married earlier in the year, Tammy was accused of
- 7:06Speaker 1: stealing her thunder. But it wasn't about what Tammy was wearing.
- 7:09Speaker 1: It was about her star power and that she was
- 7:11Speaker 1: pulling attention away by just attending the wedding. Look, I
- 7:14Speaker 1: could have seen this headline coming a mile away. There
- 7:16Speaker 1: was always going to be one guest that was accused
- 7:18Speaker 1: of stealing the attention from Tammy. It happens at every
- 7:21Speaker 1: single influencer wedding. I didn't think there was anything wrong
- 7:24Speaker 1: with Anna's dress. I thought she looked stunning. I didn't
- 7:26Speaker 1: think it looked that different to what other people were wearing.
- 7:28Speaker 1: It's not like she rocked up in a white or
- 7:31Speaker 1: shall I say pink dress because Tammy's dress was incredible.
- 7:34Speaker 1: She is getting a lot of attention for the dress
- 7:37Speaker 1: she wore down the aisle. If I had been told
- 7:39Speaker 1: prior to seeing the photo that Tammy wore a pink dress,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I would have thought, oh, how hideous.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But I loved it. She looked absolutely stunning.
- 7:47Speaker 1: She looked the best I've ever seen her look. I
- 7:49Speaker 1: do wonder if the Daily Mail, because they were the
- 7:52Speaker 1: first ones to release these photos, I wonder if they
- 7:55Speaker 1: turned up the saturation because her dress looked very pink
- 7:59Speaker 1: and I don't think it was that pink in real
- 8:01Speaker 1: life because her tan also got a lot of comments.
- 8:04Speaker 1: People were saying she looked very orange. Yeah, well, the
- 8:06Speaker 1: day after the wedding, Tammy posted a photo of her
- 8:08Speaker 1: and Matt's hands with their wedding rings on it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: And she didn't look that orange in that photo.
- 8:12Speaker 1: There's a few recovery photos floating around the place of
- 8:15Speaker 1: Tammy and she definitely wasn't as orange as she appeared
- 8:17Speaker 1: in that photo as well. I saw Anna McAvoy posted
- 8:20Speaker 1: some recovery photos and it was very reminiscent of the
- 8:23Speaker 1: photos taken prior to her wedding.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 1: They had one where they had all of their rings
- 8:28Speaker 1: in together. It was like, who was comparing who's wedding
- 8:31Speaker 1: bands are better and bigger. And a make-out photo of
- 8:33Speaker 1: each of the couples. But I wasn't sure, what is
- 8:36Speaker 1: the etiquette around posting recovery photos?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Is it all good?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Look, I think that everyone's got the green light to
- 8:40Speaker 1: do the recovery photos because so many people are doing it.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I think that there must be a lot of slagging
- 8:45Speaker 1: off about the Daily Mail happening. And so people are like,
- 8:49Speaker 1: oh my God, I better not post a photo of
- 8:51Speaker 1: any of her wedding outfits. It's quite interesting because Isabel Laws,
- 8:54Speaker 1: who is the general manager of Tammy's Activewear brand, Sasky,
- 8:58Speaker 1: She ended up commenting under one of Influencer Update's posts
- 9:01Speaker 1: where she shared the photo and she wrote, so disrespectful
- 9:04Speaker 1: that the Daily Mail had an illegal drone fly over
- 9:07Speaker 1: the ceremony and leak the entire thing. How this is
- 9:10Speaker 1: supported is absolutely beyond me. It's crazy that Isabel actually
- 9:14Speaker 1: took time out of the wedding to share that comment.
- 9:16Speaker 1: But are we really that surprised? This wedding has been
- 9:18Speaker 1: touted as the Influencer Wedding of the Year. Matt and
- 9:21Speaker 1: Tammy have been talking about it all over their social feeds,
- 9:23Speaker 1: all over their podcasts. It's not that surprising that the
- 9:26Speaker 1: Daily Mail would try and get that first shot. Tammy
- 9:29Speaker 1: and Matt should have done what Laura Byrne and Maddie
- 9:31Speaker 1: Jay did because Laura and Maddie noticed that a paparazzo
- 9:35Speaker 1: had got into their wedding and they thought, fuck it,
- 9:37Speaker 1: we're not going to let them get the scoop. So
- 9:38Speaker 1: they ended up posting a photo from their wedding straight away.
- 9:42Speaker 1: The Daily Mail may have beat them to it, but
- 9:44Speaker 1: they could have steered some of that attention over to
- 9:46Speaker 1: their own socials. Well, this is what makes me think
- 9:48Speaker 1: that they have a deal with Vogue. We recently saw
- 9:51Speaker 1: podcaster Nikki Westcott get a deal with them and she
- 9:54Speaker 1: waited several days to share her wedding photos. At the
- 9:57Speaker 1: time of recording, we haven't seen a wedding photo from
- 10:00Speaker 1: Tammy or Matt. So I wouldn't be surprised if we're
- 10:03Speaker 1: going to see one in a couple of days time,
- 10:05Speaker 1: a huge spread about their wedding.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Well, this wedding looked like it belonged in Vogue.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And there was a lot of anticipation because we know
- 10:11Speaker 1: that Tammy did a deal with Vera Wang for the
- 10:14Speaker 1: wedding dress. A couple of super sleuths are saying that
- 10:16Speaker 1: this dress isn't a custom gown by Vera Wang, that
- 10:19Speaker 1: it is one off the rack and that's on the
- 10:20Speaker 1: website currently. It does come in pink and ivory because
- 10:24Speaker 1: people were saying that they've fallen in love with this dress.
- 10:26Speaker 1: They want to get it for their weddings. And for
- 10:29Speaker 1: those who haven't seen it, it's strapless. It had a
- 10:31Speaker 1: very tight corset bodice. And it had this very elaborate
- 10:34Speaker 1: tulle train with a long ivory veil. There was some
- 10:37Speaker 1: discussion about her mixing ivory and pink. But overall, everyone
- 10:42Speaker 1: loved the dress. Is it one of those dresses, though,
- 10:44Speaker 1: that only really looks good on Tammy Hembrough? Like, you know,
- 10:46Speaker 1: like when you go when you want to get a
- 10:48Speaker 1: new haircut and then.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You realize, oh, it's not going to look as good.
- 10:50Speaker 2: We never got their blonde bob.
- 10:52Speaker 1: She's definitely got the figure for it. A lot of
- 10:54Speaker 1: listeners said that she looks straight out of the Barbie
- 10:56Speaker 1: movie and that she's never looked better. And I love
- 10:58Speaker 1: that she continued the pink theme by having a large
- 11:01Speaker 1: pink marquee, which was pictured behind the ceremony location. We
- 11:05Speaker 1: haven't seen proper photos of it yet, but that was
- 11:07Speaker 1: one of the photos that was captured by the drone.
- 11:09Speaker 1: When I saw these leaked photos, it was so clear
- 11:11Speaker 1: that Matt Zukowski had nothing to do with the planning.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Like this had Tammy all over it. Yeah, but at
- 11:15Speaker 1: the beginning, he said he was going to be a
- 11:17Speaker 1: groomzilla and he wanted to be at every meeting.
- 11:19Speaker 2: But I get the vibe that Tammy and her wedding
- 11:22Speaker 2: planners just went off separately.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I saw some TikTok where Tammy was saying that Matt
- 11:26Speaker 1: would be in these Zoom meetings and just say really
- 11:28Speaker 1: stupid things.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, just be like, honey, could you just shut up?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well, in saying that, I wonder if he had
- 11:33Speaker 1: anything to do with the ceremony set up because it's
- 11:35Speaker 1: all people could focus on once those drone images were released.
- 11:39Speaker 1: So for those who haven't seen the photos, Tammy and
- 11:43Speaker 1: Matt were at the front on this beautiful pair of steps.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And then there was this hedge and a pool and
- 11:49Speaker 1: the guests were seated around the pool and behind the hedge.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So people were saying, could they even see what was
- 11:55Speaker 1: going on? Well, it's quite interesting because where they got
- 11:57Speaker 1: married is this chateau, which is an Airbnb. It costs
- 12:01Speaker 1: $ 7, 000 a night to stay there. But on the website,
- 12:03Speaker 1: it doesn't describe itself as a wedding venue. In saying
- 12:06Speaker 1: that though, Pat Cummins recently got married there and Matt
- 12:09Speaker 1: Damon has previously stayed there in the past. But it
- 12:12Speaker 1: makes me think maybe that area has never been set
- 12:15Speaker 1: up for a wedding before because sometimes wedding planners will
- 12:19Speaker 1: possibly close off the pool area, which would have made
- 12:22Speaker 1: a lot more sense because they then could have had
- 12:24Speaker 1: the seats on top and people actually facing the front. Well,
- 12:27Speaker 1: I want to know how Tammy actually walked down that
- 12:29Speaker 1: aisle because there's a photo of her arriving at that
- 12:33Speaker 1: point and she's standing directly in front of the pool.
- 12:35Speaker 1: So Did they have something that she could walk across
- 12:38Speaker 1: the pool? Was there like a perspex aisle? I think
- 12:40Speaker 1: she must have just chosen one side to walk down.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But the other bizarre thing about this seating plan was
- 12:45Speaker 1: that the guests weren't even facing Tammy and Matt. They
- 12:47Speaker 1: were actually facing each other, which would.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Have been super awkward.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Well, they were looking over the pool and a lot
- 12:52Speaker 1: of people were saying, God, their necks must have been
- 12:54Speaker 1: sore because they were literally craning to get a glimpse
- 12:57Speaker 1: of the couple. And also because they were seated quite
- 13:00Speaker 1: low down, because Tammy and Matt, they were up several
- 13:03Speaker 1: steps and they were in front of the chateau. People
- 13:06Speaker 1: were saying, could they even see them past the hedges? Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 1: And it was weird because people noticed that Matt's groomsmen
- 13:11Speaker 1: were standing on concrete, whereas Tammy's bridesmaids were standing on grass.
- 13:15Speaker 1: So their high heels were likely sinking into it. I
- 13:17Speaker 1: saw a lot of people saying it must have been
- 13:19Speaker 1: Tammy's good side because it's like, fuck it. I'm going
- 13:21Speaker 1: to be on my good side. They can sink into
- 13:23Speaker 1: the grass. We picked the bridesmaid dress, as I want
- 13:25Speaker 1: to point out. They were black strapless dresses. And I
- 13:29Speaker 1: feel like black is this season's color for weddings. You
- 13:32Speaker 1: wanted to do black originally. I was thinking about it,
- 13:34Speaker 1: but I didn't really think it was a summer color.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I felt like it was, you know, it's a bit
- 13:38Speaker 1: too hot to be wearing black. What was also quite
- 13:40Speaker 1: strange about this setup is that around the pool area,
- 13:43Speaker 1: there was a fence. So once Tammy had walked down
- 13:45Speaker 1: the aisle, they closed the pool gate. So they basically
- 13:49Speaker 1: closed all of the guests out of that area and
- 13:51Speaker 1: all of the photographers and videographers stood at the gate.
- 13:55Speaker 1: So they were getting the best front on view of
- 13:57Speaker 1: the ceremony. It seemed like it was all about appearances
- 14:00Speaker 1: and all about the photos, not necessarily making it feel
- 14:03Speaker 1: like an intimate ceremony. To be fair, like most weddings. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but this is not like most weddings. Most weddings, you
- 14:09Speaker 1: have the guests as close as possible so they can
- 14:11Speaker 1: actually be a part of it. And I think what
- 14:13Speaker 1: was quite sad is that Tammy's kids were involved in
- 14:16Speaker 1: the wedding. So her son, Wolf, was a page boy
- 14:18Speaker 1: and her daughters, Posey and Saskia, were flower girls. And
- 14:23Speaker 1: they were in the closed off pool area. They weren't
- 14:25Speaker 1: even up the front with the bridesmaids. I'm guessing Matt
- 14:27Speaker 1: Poole wasn't at this wedding because we do know that
- 14:30Speaker 1: they're very amicable. They seem to be on good terms now,
- 14:33Speaker 1: but I didn't see any photos of him there.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Look, you don't have your ex-fiancee at your wedding. Well,
- 14:37Speaker 2: the Daily Mail's.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Drone shot showed just how exclusive the wedding was. There
- 14:41Speaker 1: weren't that many people there. Yeah, well, Tammy and Matt
- 14:43Speaker 1: said on their podcast that they were having 113 people.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I think that was the number. Well, one person who
- 14:49Speaker 1: was missing from the ceremony was Tammy's dad. And this
- 14:53Speaker 1: actually sparked a lot of rumors about people saying, oh,
- 14:55Speaker 1: maybe he didn't approve of her marrying Matt. But sadly,
- 14:58Speaker 1: it turned out that he actually injured himself before the
- 15:01Speaker 1: ceremony and And if you can believe it, he injured
- 15:04Speaker 1: himself while he was at the hairdresser. So if I
- 15:06Speaker 1: was Tammy, I would have been so mad because her
- 15:08Speaker 1: dad left his haircut to the day of the wedding
- 15:11Speaker 1: and then something snapped in his leg when he was
- 15:14Speaker 1: at the hairdresser. He ended up having to go to
- 15:16Speaker 1: hospital and arrived at the reception on crutches. I wish
- 15:20Speaker 1: she had her reality show because that just sounds like
- 15:23Speaker 1: one of those plots in it. Like it doesn't even
- 15:25Speaker 1: sound real.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm surprised that.
- 15:27Speaker 1: They didn't try and push the ceremony back a little bit.
- 15:29Speaker 1: But I suppose this wedding is a massive event. And
- 15:32Speaker 1: when it comes to weddings, yes, you can probably push
- 15:35Speaker 1: it by half an hour. But I suppose maybe her
- 15:37Speaker 1: dad was stuck in emergency or something. Well, Kate, you
- 15:40Speaker 1: mentioned earlier how Tammy had shared a photo of her
- 15:43Speaker 1: wedding rings on Instagram. But all I could notice in
- 15:46Speaker 1: that photo was her new tattoo, which was the date
- 15:49Speaker 1: of the wedding. Well, I was wondering when she actually
- 15:52Speaker 1: got it done because in the week leading into the wedding,
- 15:55Speaker 1: Matt ramped up the wedding spawn com and he shared
- 15:58Speaker 1: back to back sponsored reels One of them was promoting
- 16:01Speaker 1: a numbing cream.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And the last time he spruiked this brand, he was.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Using it to remove his ex-girlfriend's name from his bum.
- 16:09Speaker 1: This time around, he was using it to get a
- 16:11Speaker 1: tattoo dedicated to the wedding. So he ended up getting
- 16:15Speaker 1: Always and Forever tattooed on him. And it was written
- 16:17Speaker 1: in Tammy's handwriting. Side note, she has the most beautiful handwriting.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So I'm wondering if Tammy got her tattoo then. Well,
- 16:25Speaker 1: there's other speculation that maybe they had a tattoo artist
- 16:28Speaker 1: at the ceremony because a lot of people are now
- 16:30Speaker 1: doing that. So basically you go and sign your wedding
- 16:32Speaker 1: certificate and then you go and get your tattoo of
- 16:34Speaker 1: the day. It's very on brand for Tammy to have
- 16:36Speaker 1: a tattoo artist at her wedding. She loves getting tattoos.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I recently was listening to happy hour with Lucy and Nikki,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and they were talking about a number of their jagged
- 16:44Speaker 1: parties that they had where Tammy Hembrough would just be like, Yep.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I'm going to get that random dragon. Well, how many
- 16:49Speaker 1: tattoos do Matt and Tammy have dedicated to each other?
- 16:52Speaker 1: It's getting ridiculous now. I am very much looking forward
- 16:56Speaker 1: to when the official photos get released. When do you
- 16:58Speaker 1: guys think it will be? Whenever Vogue drops their next shoot. Actually,
- 17:02Speaker 1: probably just the night that we're recording because it always
- 17:04Speaker 1: seems to happen. So if you have seen those photos,
- 17:06Speaker 1: this has been pre-recorded on Monday afternoon. We reckon Tammy's
- 17:09Speaker 1: going to jump on a podcast with Matt as well,
- 17:11Speaker 1: because I think that he is really into monetizing the
- 17:14Speaker 1: wedding situation. And also boosting his numbers. Oh no Sophie
- 17:18Speaker 1: he's not interested in that at all. No this is
- 17:20Speaker 1: everyone else. And Outspoken Plus listeners will understand that little
- 17:25Speaker 1: snide comment because we did go into more detail. Kate
- 17:28Speaker 1: and I had a bit of a rant on Friday's
- 17:30Speaker 1: subscriber episode about Matt who He lashed out at us
- 17:33Speaker 1: a little bit in his comment section. Yeah, he accused
- 17:35Speaker 1: Outspoken amongst other podcasts for using him and Tammy to
- 17:38Speaker 1: make a quick dollar, which anyway, we rant about it
- 17:42Speaker 1: on that episode.
- 17:42Speaker 2: You can listen there.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Well, I want to know how much number is paying
- 17:45Speaker 1: Matt for his wedding SponCon. I hope a lot because
- 17:48Speaker 1: he absolutely got slammed in the comments.
- 17:50Speaker 2: It was quite hilarious.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Did you guys see the other reel where he was
- 17:54Speaker 1: promoting oxy shred? He said that he was doing a
- 17:56Speaker 1: wedge shred. I actually need to throw it for full effect.
- 18:00Speaker 4: The only thing that I've been stressed about leading into
- 18:02Speaker 4: my wedding is my wedge shred. Nah, jokes aside, I've
- 18:05Speaker 4: been using OxyShred now for a couple of months. I
- 18:08Speaker 4: knew this would be my go-to when trying to lean
- 18:10Speaker 4: up for the big day. I first tried it when
- 18:13Speaker 4: I saw it at 7-Eleven one time and since then
- 18:15Speaker 4: it's been my go-to drink. It contains clean caffeine so
- 18:18Speaker 4: it gives me no jitters and no crash and it
- 18:21Speaker 4: enhances my mood.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I feel like he needed to have an oxy shred
- 18:24Speaker 1: before he did that voiceover.
- 18:26Speaker 2: It was very flat. How does he have a podcast?
- 18:28Speaker 1: I don't understand because he just sounds bored and everything
- 18:30Speaker 1: when he reads out. Yeah, but it's also the fact
- 18:32Speaker 1: like mentioning wedge shred, which is a real no-no and
- 18:35Speaker 1: just the tackiness of the collaboration. Is he referring that
- 18:39Speaker 1: he's been stressed out because of all the cheating allegations
- 18:41Speaker 1: before the wedding? Yeah, that's literally the jive.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Like, I haven't been stressed out about marriage.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I also find it funny how he's like, oh, I
- 18:48Speaker 1: just first spotted them at the 7-Eleven. I was like, no,
- 18:50Speaker 1: you didn't. You spotted them when they reached out for
- 18:52Speaker 1: the SponCon.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Like we're not idiots.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Wrapping things up.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Do we think that Tammy Hembrough is going to change
- 18:57Speaker 1: her Instagram handle to Tammy Zukowski? Look, I don't reckon
- 19:01Speaker 1: she'll change the handle, but I reckon she'll put Zukowski
- 19:04Speaker 1: in the bio. I don't think, I think she's more
- 19:07Speaker 1: business savvy to know that she can't be changing the handle.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I absolutely loved Megan Poseto's comment on Tammy's wedding post
- 19:13Speaker 1: that we shared.
- 19:14Speaker 2: She wrote, love the dress, love the hair, hate him.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Sums it up, I think, what everyone's thinking.
- 19:20Speaker 2: It reminds me of that line from the Cinderella story.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Now that you're old enough, there's something I've always wanted
- 19:26Speaker 3: to tell you and I think you're ready to hear it.
- 19:29Speaker 3: You're not very pretty and you're not very bright. I'm
- 19:32Speaker 3: so glad we had that talk.
- 19:35Speaker 1: One Direction singer Liam Payne has been farewelled in a
- 19:38Speaker 1: private funeral service just over a month after he died
- 19:41Speaker 1: from falling off a hotel balcony in Argentina. Some corners
- 19:45Speaker 1: of the internet touted the funeral as a One Direction
- 19:48Speaker 1: reunion as Liam's former bandmates came together to say goodbye. Now, Sophie,
- 19:53Speaker 1: despite this funeral being a private service, intimate photos of
- 19:56Speaker 1: his friends and family grieving have been splashed all over
- 20:00Speaker 1: media sites and social media. Yeah, literally the first thing
- 20:03Speaker 1: I saw when I woke up on Thursday morning were
- 20:05Speaker 1: photos of his funeral all over my TikTok. And As
- 20:08Speaker 1: you said, Amy, this was a private funeral. It wasn't
- 20:11Speaker 1: a state service. And it's being reported that Liam's family
- 20:15Speaker 1: tried really hard to keep the location of the funeral
- 20:18Speaker 1: a secret from the press. They wanted to avoid any
- 20:20Speaker 1: mass crowds and fans turning up. Now, the funeral was
- 20:24Speaker 1: held at St. Mary's Church in Amersham, which is more
- 20:27Speaker 1: than two hours from his hometown, Wolverhampton, where many predicted
- 20:31Speaker 1: the service would be held. Now, this church is 800
- 20:34Speaker 1: years old and With the videos that have been emerging,
- 20:37Speaker 1: it really looked like a scene from a British movie.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I just got that vibe.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Like it looked like the typical English funeral. Yeah. And
- 20:43Speaker 1: despite throwing the press off with the location, it didn't
- 20:46Speaker 1: stop the media from scoping out the funeral. It did
- 20:50Speaker 1: avoid mass fans though from turning up. That being said, though,
- 20:53Speaker 1: there were still dozens of locals and fans who gathered
- 20:57Speaker 1: outside the church taking photos. Now, prior to this funeral,
- 21:00Speaker 1: some of One Direction's fans went viral for urging their
- 21:03Speaker 1: fellow fans not to attend. So in a TikTok video,
- 21:06Speaker 1: which has been viewed more than 8 million times, one
- 21:09Speaker 1: fan said, this is your friendly reminder that if you're
- 21:11Speaker 1: thinking of going to Liam Payne's funeral to look at
- 21:14Speaker 1: One Direction members, don't. I'm begging you all to remember
- 21:18Speaker 1: Liam Payne was a human and his family and friends
- 21:20Speaker 1: are going through a hard time enough without having to
- 21:23Speaker 1: cater to the public. They deserve to say goodbye to
- 21:26Speaker 1: him with grace. I thought this was pretty gross how
- 21:28Speaker 1: a lot of fans were calling this the One Direction reunion. Yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and the way people were editing up clips of Harry
- 21:34Speaker 1: crying and the boys looking really upset. It's like if
- 21:36Speaker 1: you actually cared about them, you wouldn't be exploiting them
- 21:39Speaker 1: for clips. It's a hard one because I don't know
- 21:41Speaker 1: if they were exploiting them because even as someone I
- 21:44Speaker 1: wasn't Like I was a One Direction fan but I
- 21:46Speaker 1: wasn't young enough to be as obsessed with them as
- 21:48Speaker 1: some of the One Directioners were. But it was almost
- 21:51Speaker 1: this weird thing where you didn't want to see the
- 21:53Speaker 1: photos but then you were also intrigued. Yeah, but that's
- 21:56Speaker 1: different looking at them than actually cutting up the videos,
- 21:59Speaker 1: knowing that you're pulling on people's heartstrings, you're going to
- 22:01Speaker 1: get send-ons, you're doing it to get views. I think
- 22:04Speaker 1: it's a way of them healing though in a strange way.
- 22:06Speaker 1: That's the thing. Around the whole One Direction reunion comment,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I do think it sounds sick, but I also don't
- 22:12Speaker 1: think that it was met with ill intent. I think
- 22:14Speaker 1: that a lot of fans have been really rocked by
- 22:16Speaker 1: Liam's death. And I think they found some solace in
- 22:19Speaker 1: thinking that the band was coming together to celebrate his
- 22:22Speaker 1: life because it has been nine years since One Direction
- 22:25Speaker 1: were last publicly seen together at their last performance. And
- 22:29Speaker 1: Before his death, there were a lot of people excited
- 22:32Speaker 1: thinking that they were going to get back together. They
- 22:34Speaker 1: seemed to be dropping a couple of clues like in
- 22:36Speaker 1: interviews and the fact that they were all out supporting
- 22:38Speaker 1: one another. Well, the saddest thing is that Liam really
- 22:40Speaker 1: wanted them to get back together. If there was one
- 22:42Speaker 1: member who was really pushing it, it was him. I
- 22:45Speaker 1: think Harry, Niall, Louis and Zayn made a big effort
- 22:49Speaker 1: not to be photographed together. There was a lot of
- 22:51Speaker 1: strategy around that because I think if there was a
- 22:53Speaker 1: photograph of the four boys next to the coffin... the
- 22:57Speaker 1: press would have run with one direction reunion. Well, not
- 22:59Speaker 1: even them next to the coffin. I think just the
- 23:01Speaker 1: four of them together, they knew that that would have
- 23:03Speaker 1: attracted a lot of attention and taken away from what
- 23:06Speaker 1: they were there to do to say goodbye to Liam.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I agree that it was a deliberate decision to walk separately.
- 23:11Speaker 1: They also arrived in separate cars and it was really
- 23:15Speaker 1: sad because on each of the cars that the boys
- 23:17Speaker 1: arrived in, they had Batman stickers on them and that
- 23:20Speaker 1: is because that is Liam's favourite superhero. Wow. All of
- 23:23Speaker 1: the former band members were also accompanied by Paul Higgins,
- 23:26Speaker 1: who was their security guard through their One Direction days.
- 23:29Speaker 1: There were a lot of famous faces in attendance at
- 23:32Speaker 1: this funeral. And there's this viral clip going around showing
- 23:35Speaker 1: Harry Styles getting into a car outside the church with
- 23:39Speaker 1: James Corden. And it made me go back and watch
- 23:41Speaker 1: the carpool karaoke that One Direction did with him years ago.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So they must have formed some sort of friendship since then.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's quite well known that he's very close with
- 23:49Speaker 2: all of them.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Well, Simon Cowell, who discovered One Direction, was also there.
- 23:53Speaker 1: It was so sad because he was seen consoling Liam's parents,
- 23:56Speaker 1: Jeff and Karen, outside the church. And he was in tears.
- 23:59Speaker 1: You could see how genuinely shattered he's been by this.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I have really not liked the narrative around Kate Cassidy's
- 24:05Speaker 1: appearance at the funeral. So Kate was, of course, Liam
- 24:08Speaker 1: Payne's girlfriend at the time of his passing. And people
- 24:10Speaker 1: were like, why does she look so done up? She
- 24:13Speaker 1: looked really glam to be at his funeral. And they
- 24:17Speaker 1: were accusing her of not looking sad enough. It's like
- 24:19Speaker 1: she had sunglasses on. What is she supposed to do?
- 24:22Speaker 1: she probably felt like she couldn't show her real emotions
- 24:24Speaker 1: because of the fucking paparazzi there. Yeah, she was actually
- 24:27Speaker 1: walking with Liz Hurley's friend who got a lot of
- 24:29Speaker 1: stick also for trying to get attention from being there.
- 24:32Speaker 1: It's like these people are mourning a very close person
- 24:36Speaker 1: to them. At a private funeral that they didn't want
- 24:38Speaker 1: pressed there. Liam's ex, Cheryl Cole, she was also a
- 24:42Speaker 1: focus of a lot of the media reporting. She is
- 24:44Speaker 1: the mother of their seven-year-old son, Bear, and prior to
- 24:47Speaker 1: Liam's death, Bear had largely been kept out of the
- 24:50Speaker 1: spotlight because they chose not to share his face on
- 24:53Speaker 1: social media. And thankfully, Bear did not appear in any
- 24:57Speaker 1: of the photos printed in the media. And there is
- 25:00Speaker 1: a theory circulating that Liam's parents made a deal with
- 25:03Speaker 1: the media that they were allowed to take photos outside
- 25:06Speaker 1: of the church as long as no photos of Bear
- 25:09Speaker 1: were taken or released to the public. Weren't there also
- 25:11Speaker 1: reports that Liam's parents said that Liam was always about
- 25:16Speaker 1: the One Direction fans and they know that they would
- 25:18Speaker 1: want to see some of these.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Images and say goodbye to Liam.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Oh, that's interesting.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I hadn't heard that.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And also that the band members were happy to partake
- 25:25Speaker 1: in that agreement in order to protect Bear. I don't
- 25:28Speaker 1: know if there's so much validity around this supposed agreement
- 25:31Speaker 1: with the Pains and the media because there were so
- 25:34Speaker 1: many members of the public also taking photos and they
- 25:37Speaker 1: wouldn't have been part of this deal.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Or aware of it.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I feel like perhaps Bear... was taken in and out
- 25:42Speaker 1: of a back entrance and they were super careful about
- 25:44Speaker 1: him not being seen.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Well, maybe he wasn't there.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Perhaps the family decided that it was going to be
- 25:48Speaker 1: too tough on a seven-year-old. Well, he was represented at
- 25:51Speaker 1: the service by this massive floral arrangement that read Daddy
- 25:55Speaker 1: and that is what got me. That is one of
- 25:57Speaker 1: the first photos I saw and it is a stark
- 25:59Speaker 1: reminder that there is a little boy who is at
- 26:02Speaker 1: the centre of this who's lost his dad. One of
- 26:04Speaker 1: the photos that has really stuck with me is A
- 26:07Speaker 1: photo of Liam's mum, Karen, breaking down when Liam's coffin
- 26:11Speaker 1: was taken out of the hearse. And it showed Jeff
- 26:14Speaker 1: comforting her. And I just felt so gross because I'm like,
- 26:18Speaker 1: what right do I have to be seeing this photo?
- 26:21Speaker 1: And it's so bad because when the first video of
- 26:23Speaker 1: the funeral popped up, well, you actually sent it to me, Sophie.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I was like, I can't watch this. This is disgusting.
- 26:29Speaker 1: But then you have this thirst to see more. And
- 26:32Speaker 1: you're like, I don't deserve to know more. I shouldn't
- 26:34Speaker 1: be looking at these.
- 26:35Speaker 2: But it's kind of like the sun. You can't look away.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It's that weird parasocial relationship where you feel like, you know, Liam,
- 26:40Speaker 1: you feel like, you know, his parents. Yeah. It's this
- 26:43Speaker 1: real morbid curiosity. And I have to admit that I
- 26:45Speaker 1: was absolutely glued and I felt somewhat ashamed of myself
- 26:48Speaker 1: because I couldn't look away. For me, it was that
- 26:51Speaker 1: I almost wanted to try and make sense of it
- 26:53Speaker 1: because there's been so much speculation and so many rumors
- 26:56Speaker 1: about his death. And there's this feeling that you don't
- 26:58Speaker 1: really know what happened to him. So maybe if you
- 27:00Speaker 1: analyze the photos, You can make sense of little moments
- 27:04Speaker 1: during the funeral. What's even more upsetting is the new
- 27:06Speaker 1: photos that have emerged of Liam Payne's final hours at
- 27:09Speaker 1: the hotel in Argentina. There's some photos of what looks
- 27:13Speaker 1: like security guards or hotel staff carrying him up. Well,
- 27:17Speaker 1: very strange timing as well to release this after his funeral. Well,
- 27:22Speaker 1: but it comes off the back of the police investigation
- 27:25Speaker 1: because one of the staff members at the hotel has
- 27:28Speaker 1: been arrested and to see four men forcefully carrying Liam
- 27:31Speaker 1: Payne up to his room where he subsequently fell from
- 27:34Speaker 1: his balcony. I think there's going to be a lot
- 27:36Speaker 1: more about this disgust because something just doesn't seem right.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's interesting that they chose to blur his face from
- 27:43Speaker 1: those images because there was widespread disgust after TMZ shared
- 27:47Speaker 1: a photo of Liam's dead body after the fall. Do
- 27:51Speaker 1: you think that is why or are there some legalities
- 27:54Speaker 1: as well? I think it's the media trying to be sensitive,
- 27:57Speaker 1: like we're blurring his face, but Even blurring his face,
- 28:00Speaker 1: you can tell what's happening.
- 28:01Speaker 2: It's still distressing to see.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Well, I definitely think this isn't the end of this story.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I think that there is a lot more to it.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And that photo is now just fueling even more speculation.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Well, I think that's all.
- 28:11Speaker 1: We've got time for today. Thank you so much for
- 28:13Speaker 1: listening to another episode of Outspoken. If you haven't already,
- 28:17Speaker 1: please make sure you are a subscriber. And also, we
- 28:20Speaker 1: would really appreciate if you could leave us a five-star
- 28:22Speaker 1: review because it really helps us grow the podcast. This
- 28:25Speaker 1: podcast was recorded on the traditional land of the Kaurna
- 28:28Speaker 1: people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders
