- 0:10Speaker 1: Desi Hollow represent Ocean Side Ocera size in the house
- 0:13Speaker 1: with up keV Man. I'm chilling in a long time man,
- 0:17Speaker 1: for sure. You got I remember when I seen who
- 0:20Speaker 1: last was at? We was at an event and you
- 0:22Speaker 1: was like on your phone because you had placed to bed.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Oh and it was it looked like you was down
- 0:28Speaker 1: bad though, you know what You're right? That was?
- 0:34Speaker 2: That was a Cypress Morano spot. Yeah in La was
- 0:38Speaker 2: Dope Dope Man's event.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a bet I had like ten grand
- 0:43Speaker 2: riding on a college game, and I don't remember if
- 0:47Speaker 2: I think I might have. I think they pulled it
- 0:48Speaker 2: out for me, but I definitely the whole time I
- 0:51Speaker 2: was I had ten grand on that game and that
- 0:53Speaker 2: shit sucked. That shit was stressful. I'm glad I got
- 0:57Speaker 2: over that part of my life. Yeah, you were sweating over.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The Oh yeah that's crazy.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like a college I don't even watch
- 1:03Speaker 2: college football, bro, but I just be using my homies
- 1:07Speaker 2: picks and I put ten bands on a game. And
- 1:09Speaker 2: I've never been so in tune to a football game and.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I forgot who was playing.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It was like, might have been UCLA or something. I
- 1:17Speaker 2: don't know, but I don't remember if I won that bet.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I think I won it. I think i'd remember more
- 1:22Speaker 2: if I lost it, because I know my big losses.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I could point at the game and say, fucking Mike
- 1:29Speaker 2: White from the Jets beating the Bengals two years ago,
- 1:32Speaker 2: fifteen bands out the door.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But you know I've won enough. I'm off the gambling now,
- 1:38Speaker 1: a little spending money.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I do a little bit here and there. You know,
- 1:41Speaker 2: I put a little bit out there. But there was
- 1:43Speaker 2: like a during that period. There's like a two year
- 1:46Speaker 2: stretch during the pandemic where I was fucking leveraging some
- 1:50Speaker 2: bread on shit I can't control, which is a bad
- 1:53Speaker 2: habit to have. By the way, if you'd like to
- 1:55Speaker 2: do the same thing, go to my bookie dot com
- 1:57Speaker 2: and use a promo code bootleg and sign up and
- 1:59Speaker 2: you you make it a first deposit bonus up two
- 2:02Speaker 2: thousand dollars, trust my bookie. But yeah, no, that was
- 2:06Speaker 2: that mad that I do remember that.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I wasn't even in present at the event because
- 2:10Speaker 1: I was so like, I know, I was like, hey,
- 2:12Speaker 1: give give yeah, no, but uh, hey, how's everything, man,
- 2:18Speaker 1: Everything's good. Everything is on the up. I just released
- 2:21Speaker 1: that a project in the video with Yeah. I just
- 2:27Speaker 1: released that and independently as my first independent drop, and
- 2:33Speaker 1: it's you know, it's a video Corrupt, and then I
- 2:35Speaker 1: also dropped Yes. My game plan was to drop the
- 2:38Speaker 1: album with the visual with Corrupt, and then following that,
- 2:45Speaker 1: my whole roll up plan was just my music videos.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I've been shooting music videos my my. I guess my
- 2:50Speaker 1: plan is not like in the industry, like an industry rollout,
- 2:54Speaker 1: but it's kind of like like a consistent, like consistency
- 2:58Speaker 1: type of rollout. It's a different well.
- 3:00Speaker 2: You been like diving in the last couple of years
- 3:03Speaker 2: into kind of bringing back this old school like g
- 3:09Speaker 2: funk shit that's like missing from the game.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I think right now is a good time for
- 3:15Speaker 1: the top of music I'm making because you don't really
- 3:18Speaker 1: like hear that anymore. No, for sure, it's different. It
- 3:21Speaker 1: stands out and it's something that like the West Coast
- 3:23Speaker 1: was known for, and I feel like I have a
- 3:27Speaker 1: chance to kind of be the person that you know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: gets to like bring in that second wind of funk
- 3:32Speaker 1: and you know, I'm doing my best, but it's it's
- 3:36Speaker 1: it's you know, it's catching on. I see people starting
- 3:38Speaker 1: to like find out about me that were like, man,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I used to listen to this type of sound when
- 3:42Speaker 1: I was younger growing up, and it was the same
- 3:44Speaker 1: with me, you know, I grew up on a sound
- 3:46Speaker 1: and now I'm creating it. Yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 2: For you, when did you kind of decide to like
- 3:51Speaker 2: go that route? Yeah, I think.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Like three years ago I dropped my first project that
- 3:58Speaker 1: was just all funk and it was called it was
- 4:03Speaker 1: called The Cought and the Funk d of Funk. I
- 4:05Speaker 1: think that's a new one, right, Nah, what is the
- 4:07Speaker 1: first one called? Because one Nation Earned the Funk was
- 4:09Speaker 1: the one before this. Before that one was can You
- 4:12Speaker 1: Handle the Funk? That was my first project where I
- 4:15Speaker 1: just did only funk, you know, But I had always
- 4:17Speaker 1: I had always, like you know, mess with funk, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: you know it was accustomed to it from just growing
- 4:23Speaker 1: up on it. But I never really like had a
- 4:25Speaker 1: body of work that was dedicated to just that sound.
- 4:28Speaker 1: You know.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And you've been working with like some legends, like you
- 4:30Speaker 2: had a record with sugar Free. I saw sugar Free
- 4:34Speaker 2: w c been working with Little Bob. Shout out to
- 4:37Speaker 2: a Little Rob.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to Little Bob.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Man.
- 4:39Speaker 1: He's definitely a solid one that that has always been
- 4:41Speaker 1: a supporter for sure.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And like I've been seeing since you've been doing this,
- 4:46Speaker 2: like you've been going up, like I see you getting
- 4:48Speaker 2: bookings and ship I see you car shows. Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 1: No, I've been doing a lot of shows. And but
- 4:53Speaker 1: my whole thing is that I really want to do
- 4:55Speaker 1: like a successful tour for this project. I've never been
- 5:01Speaker 1: like on tour or really had like a bushnet dates
- 5:04Speaker 1: and stuff. Yeah right, I've never had like a booking
- 5:07Speaker 1: agent really put together like some tour dates for me.
- 5:09Speaker 1: So right now I'm in the middle of getting that done. Congrats,
- 5:13Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah. So for you.
- 5:15Speaker 2: So you've worked with some legends, man, who's been the
- 5:17Speaker 2: coolest guy to kind of like hang with and like.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You know, because they all have their own like personalities.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And for me, it's like I'm a I'm a younger
- 5:28Speaker 1: of a younger generation, so I kind of have to
- 5:30Speaker 1: like I don't know, like speak accordingly, but just you know,
- 5:34Speaker 1: know like who I'm talking to because little Little Rob
- 5:37Speaker 1: the way I talked to Little Rob is different than
- 5:38Speaker 1: how I talk to like corrupt or dub C, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: but you know, I got love for them all, and
- 5:45Speaker 1: they've all showed love. But by far, Little Rob has
- 5:49Speaker 1: been someone that's been like.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Well, you guys are I mean, ocean Side and San
- 5:52Speaker 2: Diego are not the same, but you gotta get you
- 5:55Speaker 2: gotta go through your.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ocean side to get the San Diego. If you're in
- 5:57Speaker 1: l A and they're.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Very they're very even though you guys are very different.
- 6:03Speaker 2: A lot of people kind of just like I'm my
- 6:06Speaker 2: homie Ben Ben. I don't know if you know Ben
- 6:08Speaker 2: Fly he's from. But when he talks to people about
- 6:12Speaker 2: where he's from who don't understand California, he just says
- 6:15Speaker 2: San Diego because it's easier to say that than ocean side,
- 6:18Speaker 2: because if you say ocean side, you gotta be like, oh,
- 6:19Speaker 2: where's that and then well, you know it's about an
- 6:21Speaker 2: hour north of sand you know, So you guys are
- 6:25Speaker 2: like for a Little Rob. Little Rob's kind of like
- 6:27Speaker 2: one of the pillars of San Diego hip hop and
- 6:32Speaker 2: not the goat of it. Like it's like Jao Felony him,
- 6:35Speaker 2: Like there's Rob Stone, like there's guys but like little.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Rob to me is the most like.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Longevity dude, that kind of represents South of l.
- 6:45Speaker 1: A the most, if that makes sense. Yeah, I think
- 6:47Speaker 1: the word for a little while will be like iconic
- 6:49Speaker 1: because sure he's an icon when you think about like
- 6:52Speaker 1: Chicano Rob, He's he's you know, he's the face, He's
- 6:54Speaker 1: like the jay Z of it, right, which is you know,
- 6:56Speaker 1: that's a big thing for sure. So yeah, no much
- 6:59Speaker 1: much flowers and props, a little vib Yeah, not so
- 7:01Speaker 1: for you.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Do you ever get frustrated that ocean Side has yet
- 7:05Speaker 2: to kind of because it's now.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I feel like you're doing such a good job.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Of making sure people know, like ocean Side is ocean Side,
- 7:12Speaker 2: like and you have a sound, which every place needs
- 7:18Speaker 2: a sound, you know what I'm saying. But like being
- 7:21Speaker 2: from ocean Side, you guys get confused and punched in
- 7:24Speaker 2: San Diego a lot, you know what I mean? Is
- 7:26Speaker 2: that something that gets frustrating because you're like, now we're
- 7:28Speaker 2: our own thing over here, like it's a whole different place.
- 7:31Speaker 1: For me. I just I you know, I just tell
- 7:34Speaker 1: people from Oceanside, you know, I have love for like
- 7:36Speaker 1: a lot of artists from San Diego and for sure,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I spent a lot of time down there. Yeah, and
- 7:42Speaker 1: you know, Ocean Side is beautiful too. Yeah. But for
- 7:44Speaker 1: the most part, you know, there's like a lot of
- 7:45Speaker 1: similarities and it's it's just all love, you know, with me.
- 7:49Speaker 1: But but Ocean Side is definitely its own thing. So
- 7:53Speaker 1: a lot of military folks there. Yeah. Yeah. And right
- 7:55Speaker 1: now it's a lot of like gentrification and like remodeling.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So we see a lot of tourists, we see a
- 8:00Speaker 1: lot of like prices going up. Sure, we see a
- 8:04Speaker 1: lot of things changing right now. So it's becoming a
- 8:06Speaker 1: hot spot too. Yeah, it is for people to like
- 8:09Speaker 1: go vacate there, like move there. Like I had hell
- 8:12Speaker 1: of people I know from arizona're like, yo, you ever
- 8:13Speaker 1: heard a oce Side thinking about living there? And I'm
- 8:15Speaker 1: like really, yeah. People will come on vacation. I've met
- 8:17Speaker 1: somebody and said they were on vacation. I was like,
- 8:19Speaker 1: out here, you know. But but they're starting to get
- 8:21Speaker 1: more and more things that attract tourists out there. So
- 8:25Speaker 1: you know, it's good and bad. But I always try
- 8:28Speaker 1: to paint the picture of, you know, how it was
- 8:30Speaker 1: for me growing up in Ocera Side, because at the
- 8:32Speaker 1: end of the day, every city is gonna like get gentrified,
- 8:36Speaker 1: it's gonna get you know, it's going to change. You know,
- 8:38Speaker 1: nothing stays the same. So my job is just to
- 8:41Speaker 1: paint you know what I know.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Of You're You're, Yeah, you're you're, you're a representation of
- 8:45Speaker 2: your city. So you got your experience there, you got
- 8:47Speaker 2: to share with the world. It's dope make so like
- 8:51Speaker 2: obviously you grew up listening to old school hip hop
- 8:53Speaker 2: defunk ship like for you, like, was there a record
- 8:58Speaker 2: or a moment that like you kind of realized like,
- 9:00Speaker 2: oh shit, like I could really bring this shit back
- 9:05Speaker 2: low key if I really like lean into this a
- 9:07Speaker 2: lot more. Because you weren't always making funk music. I
- 9:10Speaker 2: think when I first met you, you were making more like
- 9:12Speaker 2: traditional rap shit, you know, yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: More like lyrical yeah, boombab trap right right right right
- 9:18Speaker 1: For me, I mean, my whole reason behind me like
- 9:21Speaker 1: interest in becoming an artist was listening to like artists
- 9:25Speaker 1: such as DJ Quick, Nay Dog, you know, a DPG.
- 9:30Speaker 1: So you know, I was I was into like that
- 9:34Speaker 1: West Coast sound, but it took me a little bit
- 9:37Speaker 1: for it took me a while to kind of like
- 9:40Speaker 1: grasp how it's gonna sound, especially like a lot of
- 9:42Speaker 1: my hooks are like saying and stacked, so I had
- 9:46Speaker 1: to learn how to stack my vocal. I had to
- 9:48Speaker 1: learn what sounded good and what didn't because I did
- 9:52Speaker 1: a lot of like test runs, like for this last album,
- 9:54Speaker 1: I did like one hundred and fifty songs today to
- 9:57Speaker 1: get it down to the fourteen that are on the
- 9:58Speaker 1: album Shit, mainly because like sometimes I'll be like, all right,
- 10:03Speaker 1: I have this good melody, and when I lay it,
- 10:05Speaker 1: I am not don't have the capacity to be able
- 10:09Speaker 1: to project my vocal in that way. So then that
- 10:11Speaker 1: song that ends up being trish, you know, you got
- 10:13Speaker 1: to put someone on it. Yeah, Yes and no, because
- 10:16Speaker 1: for me, it's like I like to do a lot
- 10:18Speaker 1: of things myself. Why you your Nate dog, you know
- 10:20Speaker 1: you find your Nate dog. Well, I mean I sing
- 10:23Speaker 1: a lot of my hooks, but it's like sometimes the
- 10:25Speaker 1: singing doesn't come out how you think it's gonna for sure,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you know, And I always tell myself that before somebody
- 10:30Speaker 1: else is like, yo, that sounds like shit. You know,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I'm my biggest critic for sure.
- 10:34Speaker 2: It's funny because I always say that I'm always like
- 10:36Speaker 2: dog like, why why don't we hear I say this
- 10:41Speaker 2: about like legends in La, you know, because I'm like, man,
- 10:44Speaker 2: why aren't LA rappers making the ship that like the
- 10:48Speaker 2: class Like there's a reason why the chronic and all
- 10:51Speaker 2: these records are classics, Like why not do just more
- 10:57Speaker 2: of that in twenty twenty four? Like take that sound
- 11:00Speaker 2: and just make it the sound again. And so when
- 11:04Speaker 2: you're doing what you're doing and I see it like
- 11:06Speaker 2: actually working for you, and like I see people who
- 11:10Speaker 2: don't know you posting your ship all the time, and
- 11:12Speaker 2: I'm like, oh shit, that's dope that the sound at
- 11:14Speaker 2: least is that OG sound is resonating because it's missing,
- 11:20Speaker 2: like nobody is. I don't think got the balls to
- 11:22Speaker 2: be like, man, I'm gonna do this OG West Coast
- 11:24Speaker 2: shit and make it modern and make it fly and
- 11:29Speaker 2: just push the sound because the sound is is still popping.
- 11:35Speaker 1: People are still listening to those old school records. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 1: especially overseas for sure. You're especially overseas, you know, And
- 11:42Speaker 1: my whole goal to with Worldwide with corrupt was that
- 11:44Speaker 1: you know, it would it would resonate with overseas, and.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Like I know, Japan's got a huge following, Like they
- 11:49Speaker 2: love the la shit in Japan.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you see, you see like the clothing style, the cars.
- 11:56Speaker 1: You know, have you getten booked over there? No? But
- 11:59Speaker 1: you know this year I'm hoping. I'm hoping especially I
- 12:02Speaker 1: want to get on that Low Leutter tour too. I
- 12:05Speaker 1: don't know if you're familiar with like Low Leutter magazine.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Of course they've been doing the car shows forever. Yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 1: I think you're doing or you already did? Did you
- 12:12Speaker 1: already do the super show in Phoenix. I've done it twice,
- 12:15Speaker 1: and then I've done Vegas twice, and then I'm also
- 12:18Speaker 1: doing this year. I'm going to be in Colorado for
- 12:20Speaker 1: a super show.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Them shits are fun, dude. Yeah, And like all them
- 12:25Speaker 2: dudes is there to have fun. So it's like, you know,
- 12:28Speaker 2: like some rap shows. You know how it is when
- 12:29Speaker 2: you go to like a rap show, people don't know
- 12:30Speaker 2: who you are. They really they kind of got your
- 12:32Speaker 2: nose about you a little bit. You ca to a
- 12:34Speaker 2: car show, everybody there is just like, oh, this is great,
- 12:37Speaker 2: there's a concert happening.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Let's enjoy this. Yeah. Because other than that, it's just
- 12:40Speaker 1: like it's good to look at the cars. But you
- 12:42Speaker 1: know a little entertainment, you know, especially if you have
- 12:45Speaker 1: a dope set, which which the music I make just
- 12:47Speaker 1: ties in really well with the little visuals like you
- 12:51Speaker 1: got a lot of cars in your visuals and ship. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:54Speaker 1: the cars. I try to put as much Kelly culture
- 12:56Speaker 1: in my videos as I can because, like I said, man,
- 13:00Speaker 1: like you don't see a lot of that, no more.
- 13:02Speaker 2: For sure you don't, man, So it's dope to see it. Like, uh,
- 13:06Speaker 2: for you, has there been anybody who you've noticed checking
- 13:10Speaker 2: you out or have liked the photo or or left
- 13:13Speaker 2: the comment or d MG where you're just like, oh shit,
- 13:16Speaker 2: this person I'm on their radar.
- 13:18Speaker 1: That's crazy. I mean yes, but I mean I would
- 13:22Speaker 1: say yes to like certain posts that are like I
- 13:24Speaker 1: did of me but I've done Collapse with like sugar
- 13:26Speaker 1: Free c and and Corrupt, and it's like, you know,
- 13:29Speaker 1: their their peers will come in and chime in or
- 13:32Speaker 1: like who who's the craziest guy? Just like I mean,
- 13:35Speaker 1: there was like a half of like mac ten just
- 13:37Speaker 1: the last post I did with Corrupt, it was like
- 13:39Speaker 1: mac ten lazy Bone, Bitchie bitch, Richie Richmond. Yeah, but
- 13:46Speaker 1: it was it was like there was some big names
- 13:48Speaker 1: on there that I just was like, Okay, that's that's
- 13:51Speaker 1: that's cool. You know Mac Ten. I'm a big fan
- 13:54Speaker 1: of mac Ten, oh for sure.
- 13:56Speaker 2: One of the most slept on motherfuckers ever. Somehow, like
- 13:59Speaker 2: when we talk about West Coast Grade, somehow he slips
- 14:01Speaker 2: through the cracks because he's one of them ones.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Bro, No, he really didn't. He held it down from Inglewood,
- 14:08Speaker 1: so like tough, Like what I think of Inglewood? That's
- 14:11Speaker 1: the first I think of mac Ten's face. Yeah, I
- 14:14Speaker 1: think Inglewood. I think of mac ten and that's it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I mean, shout out to Rouchie. There's others a kid
- 14:21Speaker 2: I'm thinking, I think of mac ten. Bro, Like I'm like, shit,
- 14:23Speaker 2: he was he was. I never would have thought of Inglewood.
- 14:26Speaker 2: And except for when Tupac said it on California Love,
- 14:28Speaker 2: then I was like Englewood always up to no good. Okay,
- 14:32Speaker 2: what's that place? But nah shout out to uh to
- 14:34Speaker 2: mac ten. Yeah, that'd be a crazy collapse because he's
- 14:37Speaker 2: he's back to making music again, and I think that
- 14:40Speaker 2: he did. I want to say the last record he
- 14:42Speaker 2: dropped it was car.
- 14:45Speaker 1: It was very I'm.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Trying to think he was on the show Man and
- 14:49Speaker 2: it was like so cool to talk to him because.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, it was like about like cars, right.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Mac Ten's a legend, bro, and he's got some
- 14:57Speaker 2: real classic albums, and Westside Connections one of them. I
- 15:01Speaker 2: mean that album the first sound about him. Oh yeah,
- 15:04Speaker 2: it's on the Mantle up there.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah that that was a powerful rap group for sure.
- 15:08Speaker 1: For sure, Westside Connection, Uh you know DPG of.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Course, shout to dog Pound, shout out to uh Corrupt,
- 15:16Speaker 2: corrupts the cool ass motherfucker too.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and he had some funky ass shit too, like
- 15:22Speaker 2: if you think about like some of his singles and
- 15:24Speaker 2: shit like like like he had that sound bro, shout
- 15:28Speaker 2: out to corrupt man. I miss I just missed old
- 15:30Speaker 2: school like LA hip hop. So I'm glad that you're
- 15:31Speaker 2: like or just West Coast hip hop. I don't use
- 15:33Speaker 2: the word la because you're obviously an ocean side, but
- 15:35Speaker 2: just the West Coast sound is like it's it's going.
- 15:38Speaker 2: It's like I gotta listen to twenty year old records
- 15:41Speaker 2: to hear the shit I love, right, you know what
- 15:43Speaker 2: I'm saying. So it's good to hear what you're doing.
- 15:45Speaker 2: You're keeping that shit alive, and I think the fans
- 15:48Speaker 2: are relating to it, you know, because it's obviously working
- 15:51Speaker 2: for you.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's working, but it's like it's at my
- 15:55Speaker 1: own pace, you know. How how however, much like work
- 15:58Speaker 1: I put into it is gonna like it's gonna be
- 16:01Speaker 1: my outcome, you know, or however, much like financially, however
- 16:04Speaker 1: much I put into it, financially, it's gonna be my
- 16:07Speaker 1: outcome as well. And you're strictly indie. Oh yeah, so
- 16:09Speaker 1: you know, I fund everything. I fund like the videos,
- 16:12Speaker 1: just everything, you know. So it's like once you get
- 16:15Speaker 1: into the business mindset, you kind of like, I'm not
- 16:18Speaker 1: gonna lie. It kind of like goes into the writing process.
- 16:20Speaker 1: So then when I write a record, it's like, Okay,
- 16:23Speaker 1: I need to write something that's gonna sell, but at
- 16:24Speaker 1: the same time, it has to be true to me.
- 16:27Speaker 1: So being able to being able to like be my
- 16:30Speaker 1: manage everything and stuff like that and have like a
- 16:32Speaker 1: business mindset, it's definitely transferred into the music. Yeah, that's dope.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if you're handling everything, you're handling your
- 16:39Speaker 2: own videos, you now you're like, okay, well, because I'm sure,
- 16:43Speaker 2: you have to pay for some of these features, but
- 16:45Speaker 2: you'll know, Okay, I know I could get this back.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's just an investment, you know.
- 16:50Speaker 2: And and it's like for what you do it would
- 16:53Speaker 2: you have to do those features because it's for you
- 16:56Speaker 2: to like have a record with Corrupt making old school
- 16:59Speaker 2: like hip hop shit it like that that shit is
- 17:01Speaker 2: that's just fire.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Yeah. But but at the end of the day, each
- 17:04Speaker 1: feature goes to the next feature, if you know what
- 17:07Speaker 1: I mean. So sure, say I just work with Corrupt,
- 17:09Speaker 1: you know, and now it's like open me to a
- 17:10Speaker 1: whole another and now everybody now when you reach out,
- 17:12Speaker 1: you like, it's easier to you know, I got a
- 17:14Speaker 1: little bit of like m pull, a little bit of pull,
- 17:18Speaker 1: a little bit of weight under my name. Now, So
- 17:20Speaker 1: who you want to work with next, mack ten, mac
- 17:22Speaker 1: ten or Orange? That to be hard. Warren G lives.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I don't want to say where he lives, but he
- 17:27Speaker 2: lives down there, not down where you are, but he
- 17:30Speaker 2: lives on the way there. Yeah yeah, yeah, shoututs to Warren.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'm sure that's easy, man.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Not as easy as as it sounds. But it's like, well,
- 17:37Speaker 1: Warren G is like a real family man.
- 17:39Speaker 2: And he's a by the way, his instagram's leg because
- 17:42Speaker 2: he'd be barbecue and hell and meets that motherfucker's a
- 17:44Speaker 2: g real officionado.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I know it looks great.
- 17:47Speaker 2: He has his own sauce gray, he has his own
- 17:49Speaker 2: like dry rub I think, I think it's Sniff and Griffin.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Whatever it is, he's.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Got it going.
- 17:55Speaker 2: But Warner G is like, you know, he was active
- 17:58Speaker 2: a couple of years ago. He put a record out
- 17:59Speaker 2: with out Sign maybe two or three years ago.
- 18:02Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean I follow him, you know, I
- 18:04Speaker 1: see him in the booth and he's doing a lot
- 18:06Speaker 1: of these old school shows. That's the other thing is
- 18:08Speaker 1: like when you do these card shows, now run into them.
- 18:10Speaker 1: You can run into that, run into one. I mean,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I've met one G already. I've met a lot of
- 18:15Speaker 1: artists already. But you know, it's not like I'm just
- 18:17Speaker 1: Liket's magic. I think that'd be hard.
- 18:21Speaker 2: You get like an MC magic talk box hook on
- 18:24Speaker 2: one of your records.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Me and him, me and him. I have gone back
- 18:27Speaker 1: and forth before MC Magic. I've done like a handful
- 18:30Speaker 1: of shows with him, because for sure I get tied
- 18:32Speaker 1: in a lot with like shows with like Baby Bash
- 18:34Speaker 1: and Little So I see it. I'm in the whole
- 18:37Speaker 1: like I see them a lot. You know, that whole circle.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It's a car culture ship because you're making like that,
- 18:41Speaker 2: you know you're made Like yeah, so what's the album's out?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Obviously corrupts on the album. Anybody else on the.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Arm corrupts on the album. Mitchie slicks on the album
- 18:54Speaker 1: A shout out to Mitchie Slick San Diego legend. And
- 18:56Speaker 1: then Pilo's on the album PLO five. Did he do
- 19:00Speaker 1: the beat or he just do? He did the beat
- 19:02Speaker 1: and then we recorded the song together and it was fun, bro.
- 19:05Speaker 1: It was working with him is fun, bro. Like usually
- 19:09Speaker 1: when I work with artists, it's like, damn, we're in
- 19:11Speaker 1: our own size of the room. We're riding shit with him,
- 19:13Speaker 1: literally together, we got we're sitting down, We've got a mic.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Was going back and forth. He's great. You know, It's
- 19:18Speaker 1: like I never recorded like that before. Was working with Pelow?
- 19:21Speaker 1: Like was that something like where he reached out to you?
- 19:22Speaker 1: Do you reach out to him? How that work? That's
- 19:24Speaker 1: a crazy thing, bro? And this music shit is nuts
- 19:26Speaker 1: because like I had to shoot to this out. I
- 19:29Speaker 1: had to shoot in Hollywood with in Hell, which is
- 19:32Speaker 1: a kny dog son Okay, yeah, yeah yeah. And we
- 19:35Speaker 1: were shooting at some house out there and I went
- 19:36Speaker 1: to the liquor store and Pelo walks in the liquor
- 19:39Speaker 1: store and I'm just like, what the fuck is that, Pelo.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I get my stuff and then I go outside of
- 19:44Speaker 1: my car and what do you know, He's passing me.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, Pilo, what up? What up? What up?
- 19:48Speaker 1: But I had met him previously at an Empire party
- 19:50Speaker 1: when I was signed with Empire years before, so that
- 19:54Speaker 1: after I've seen him that time, we ended up following
- 19:56Speaker 1: each other. And then one day he just reached down
- 19:57Speaker 1: and said, Yo, man, that's like what you're doing. Let's
- 19:59Speaker 1: see we can do yeah, which was a big thing
- 20:02Speaker 1: for me because like when I look at like the
- 20:04Speaker 1: status that he has, he's up there, you know. Sure,
- 20:06Speaker 1: So for me it's like, man, like, of course, let's
- 20:09Speaker 1: let's create, you know. So that I went and I
- 20:12Speaker 1: met up with him. The first time I met up
- 20:13Speaker 1: with him like five times. We made like three songs
- 20:16Speaker 1: hard and none of them were it until like I
- 20:20Speaker 1: give it a little bit of time. And then I
- 20:21Speaker 1: came back to a studio I was like, Yo, I
- 20:22Speaker 1: want to make something for my album. I want it
- 20:24Speaker 1: to be funky, but I don't want it to I
- 20:26Speaker 1: want you to still be turned up. You do what
- 20:27Speaker 1: you do, that bass sound. And then we created that
- 20:30Speaker 1: record and then I put this record called Hotel Lobby
- 20:33Speaker 1: on my album that he produced and be created together Fire,
- 20:37Speaker 1: you know. But he solid though. Man, A big shout
- 20:40Speaker 1: out to Plow just you know, with the help with everything,
- 20:43Speaker 1: you know, and he's doing big things.
- 20:44Speaker 2: He's killing it shots Mitch shot strong arm steady too.
- 20:47Speaker 2: He's one of the moji's out out in San Diego,
- 20:49Speaker 2: so for sure.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Man. Alright, so look, the album is out.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I suggest anybody who's watching this who haven't heard of you,
- 20:56Speaker 2: if you love classic West Coast hip hop. This guy's
- 20:59Speaker 2: bringing the sound back in his own way, in a
- 21:01Speaker 2: modern dope way, bringing the funk back. And there's a
- 21:07Speaker 2: tour coming soon. You've definitely you're doing all kinds of
- 21:09Speaker 2: car shows. You say you're doing Colorado soon. Yeah, yeah,
- 21:11Speaker 2: we got some shows coming up. But I'm just gonna.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Try to put a tour together with with with the
- 21:16Speaker 1: Days Fire as soon as possible, you know. But you're
- 21:20Speaker 1: doing some dope ship.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Man, it's good to see you, know, your growth, and
- 21:23Speaker 2: I'm glad that you found something that I feel like
- 21:27Speaker 2: was missing because you're doing it.
- 21:30Speaker 1: When I see your ship, I'm like, man, this is ship.
- 21:32Speaker 2: This motherfucker should have been doing this ill shit like,
- 21:34Speaker 2: So it's just glad. I'm just glad to see someone
- 21:37Speaker 2: keeping that shit alive and it's working out.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it's it's because you ain't like a new artist.
- 21:41Speaker 2: You're like you've been around a minute, bro, so like
- 21:43Speaker 2: for you to like kind of keep stick stay with
- 21:45Speaker 2: it until you were able to fly right.
- 21:47Speaker 1: It's the consistency and just being relevant. You know, like
- 21:51Speaker 1: a lot of people like don't understand how to even
- 21:54Speaker 1: like work certain things such as like social media or
- 21:57Speaker 1: you know, like different platforms you know that they should
- 22:00Speaker 1: be utilizing in order to be like seeing you know,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you got to do all that.
- 22:04Speaker 2: It's nowadays you have to wear more hats as an
- 22:07Speaker 2: independent artist than ever. Not only you have to go
- 22:10Speaker 2: make the music, but you have to promote the music,
- 22:11Speaker 2: and you have to know how to promote the music.
- 22:13Speaker 2: That's to own your own skill alone.
- 22:15Speaker 1: To be honest with you really got to learn everything,
- 22:17Speaker 1: like how to record yourself, how to edit some videos,
- 22:20Speaker 1: all everything.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Yeah, if you're gonna be independent, and even if you ain't,
- 22:25Speaker 2: you're crazy if you don't learn all of that. Anyway,
- 22:27Speaker 2: you should be able to kind of save as much
- 22:31Speaker 2: money as you.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Can, because, like they say, knowledge is power. You know,
- 22:35Speaker 1: if you know how to do editing videos or you
- 22:37Speaker 1: know how to record yourself, that's that's two people.
- 22:39Speaker 2: That use, two people that you don't have to pay.
- 22:42Speaker 2: That's what Russ always says. Russ is like I edit
- 22:44Speaker 2: or he used to edit his videos. He records mixed
- 22:50Speaker 2: masters and makes his own beats. Those are a lot
- 22:52Speaker 2: of things that cost money out in the game. So
- 22:55Speaker 2: so man, keep killing it.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Bro.
- 22:56Speaker 2: The album's called Cotton the Funk right, it's out right now.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Stream it YouTube, Go check out all his videos. You
- 23:04Speaker 2: got videos with some some big dogs, so you know,
- 23:07Speaker 2: just go dive into what this guy's doing. DESI hollow
- 23:09Speaker 2: shout to ocean Side. Man, if we go to Ocean Side,
- 23:12Speaker 2: what's the one restaurant you're taking me to?
- 23:14Speaker 1: Man? If we go to Ocean Side, I'm finna take
- 23:16Speaker 1: you to the spot called It depends if you like
- 23:23Speaker 1: like a toasty locos and and like what you don't
- 23:27Speaker 1: like to Locos. It's like as a Mexican food. Yes,
- 23:31Speaker 1: it's a mess messician spot called Ricos, and they have
- 23:34Speaker 1: like toasty logos. It's like a big play of it's
- 23:37Speaker 1: like a bunch of different stuff on it. But it
- 23:38Speaker 1: sounds like some otion side ship. It's toasty logos, tosty loco.
- 23:44Speaker 2: It sounds like a rap group that sounds like they
- 23:46Speaker 2: were assigned to High Power Records back.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So you gotta try it. So we're definitely going there
- 23:51Speaker 1: for sure. There we go. My god, I appreciate you
- 23:53Speaker 1: pulling up, of course. Bro,
