- 0:05SPEAKER_02: Welcome to So We Were Saying.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: We're three best friends getting together to talk about life, the things we're figuring out, and whatever else comes up along the way.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: But before we get into today's conversation, let's do a quick intro.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Jack?
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: Hi, I'm Jackie.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: I'm a military wife, a stay-at-home mom.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: I have three kids, and that's good enough for now.
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: And this is my friend Melissa.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Hi.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: I am Melissa, and I also am a mom of three.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: I'm just starting out with the high school with my twins and senior year for my son.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: I'm a lunch and recess aide at the school in my neighborhood.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: And that's it for now.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: I'm Jamie.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: I work in the finance industry.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: I have two dogs, a husband who you can barely understand.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: And that's about it.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: He's from Britain.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: That's why you can't understand him.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: You made him sales special.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: I did.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: I did.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: He's a very heavy accent.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Think of Ted Lasso.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: You can barely understand him.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: Okay, that makes sense.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: So what is everyone going up to this uh past two weeks?
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Jack?
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: My youngest that's eight made travel softball.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: So we've been doing that.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: She has two practices a week for two hours.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: So that takes up a lot of time.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: And she also plays soccer.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: And then my middle daughter is at college.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: So we got to go visit her the past weekend.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: And I haven't seen her since August.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: But you get to see her soon.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: So that'll be.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Parent weekend is next weekend.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: So I'm very excited to go see her again.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: She's gonna love it.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Melissa, what have you been up to?
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: So I just got back from Italy last week.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: And I'm just getting back into the beginning of school with the kids and just trying to get myself situated.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: It's exciting.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: She has a nice tat.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: We should say she is glowing.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: She definitely is glowing.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: And they're also very tasty.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: So that's LCP.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: So I have just been up to work.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: I started volunteering at a local animal orphanage.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: So I will be walking the dogs because I am obsessed with animals, especially dogs, and uh taking a painting class tomorrow, which I'm really excited about.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna start getting into that.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Okay, this actually brings us to what I wanted to talk about today.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: Are we still cool?
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Because in my head, I am, but I'm not sure the outside world agrees.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: What's something that makes you feel completely out of touch?
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Anyone can answer this.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: I feel like the lingo that the teenagers use.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Because now making out is doing the dirty.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: It's not so this.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: Is your daughter telling you yes, or are you seeing it on TikTok?
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: No, my daughter is telling me the one that's in college.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: So that makes me feel old.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Or like some I can't even think of some of the words that they say that I have to Google because I don't know what it is.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: And where do you think they're like getting these words from?
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: They're making it up.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Are they really?
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: Are they like real?
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: They like make is it like fictitious words?
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: I think they're just making it up.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: I think it's a mixture of real words and fictitious words.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: I asked my nephew, I sat down with him one time and I was like, all right, what and he was like, stop saying these words.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: But I was like, no, I need to know like what do they actually mean?
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Because I've never heard of them before.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: But sometimes I don't think the kids even know what they mean.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: They're just saying it because at least elementary school level.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Okay, so speaking of that, I know this one's kind of outdated, but what's a six-seven mean?
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: What does that mean?
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: I don't think it really means anything.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: I think they said it was something about like a height, but then when they do that thing.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: Yes, they like do something with it.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: I think that's inappropriate.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Would you like to ask an eight-year-old what it is?
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: I was like to ask an eight-year-old what is.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: So here's my daughter, Jordan.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And what does he mean?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Hi, I'm Jordan, and it's about this basketball player that was six foot seven, and then this kid at school, I think it was like a fourth grader or third grader.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: They said six seven, and then everybody in the school, it kept catching on and catching on, and then they told their friends, and then at a different school, then that catched on.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: And then somebody posted it on TikTok or like Instagram, and that's how it got like so big.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: So viral.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Wow, thanks.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: There you have it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, straight from an eight-year-old's mouth.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: That was really good.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: In your head, what age are you?
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: And what reminds you that you're actually not that age moless you're up?
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: Well, that's hard to say.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: Because if I can go out and feel like I'm 25 and I can hang, and then sometimes the next morning I realize I'm not doing it, and I can't when the hang of the last for three days.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Jack, what about you?
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: That's a great question.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: I think like just moving your body, like just trying to like get off the floor, like not and I'm not like super fat or anything, but like I know the viewers can't see us.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: We're just saying, you know, I'm not obese or anything.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: I just struggle.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: I'm just struggling to get off.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: See, I got this.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: I totally get it.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: I feel like from the hours of 6 a.m.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: to 3 p.m., I'm like 32.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Like I feel like I'm like a good younger age.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: You're a morning elf, right?
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: Why wasn't a morning elf?
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: I just feel like I thrived at 32.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: You know, I was just like living life.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: And I just feel like 32 years old.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: That is what I am in the beginning part.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: The latter part of the day, especially when it hits like 6 p.m., I feel like I'm 82.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: Like I and you're ready for bed.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: Uh 7.45.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: I'm sleeping by 8:30.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: If I have more than like three drinks, I'm hungover for like three days.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: No joke.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: So yeah, that's kind of my age range.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: And for the record, I'm 44.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Actually, all of us are 44.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: But not for long.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: And when we first met for Jack.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: Oh well, really long time.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Almost 42.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: But when we met, we were 19, 20.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: Melissa.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: We were young.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: We were very young.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I met these girls in college.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: And Melissa and I in high school.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: She was a year older.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Well, actually, now I am not a pool year older.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: You're just a grade below me.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: I got held back in pre-K.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: Or else I would have been in Melissa's graduating class.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: But anyway, let's move on.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Um so what's something you do that you think is cool, but your kids or younger people would absolutely roast you for?
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Melissa.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Every single thing I do.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Like what?
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Talk.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: Stories.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: Your stories, maybe that you think are cool.
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, everything.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: I could phone someone laughing and it's horrible.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, in the car.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: If I'm singing, if I like a song, if I am just talking to their friends in the car.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, whatever.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: Every single thing.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: Like you think that you're like vibing with the friends with it.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: And I am.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: The friends love me.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: Jack, what about you?
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: I would say kind of the same thing, but like I hang out with my neighborhood mom, shout out Westbury Chase.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: Like we just get crazy and we just have a really good time.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: And then sometimes I think we think we're the cool moms.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: But I don't think our children sometimes think we're the cool moms.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: But we really are the cool moms.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Because I could not picture some of the PTO or PTA people being as cool as us.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you just called it PTO.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: So that right there.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: But that's what it's called.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: Stop it.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, PTA.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: What key difference?
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: One's like an association, PTO keeps it in the school.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: You learn something new every day.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: So mine is going to be a little different.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: I feel like tucking your shirt into like jeans is like really cool.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: I love that look.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: I think it looks great.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: But when you have like love handles and a bit of a gut, like it's not as cool as it looks that when you see people like on Instagram or on Pinterest.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: And my husband always makes fun of me with how high I wear my pants.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: But again, like that's in high-waisted pants.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: Thank you, those Jack.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: You just lifted up for sure and showed us how high her pants are.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: And they're tubing.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: They're my dudes.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: Keeping it in it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I like the look.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: I get roasted.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: I get it.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: All right, but it's all right.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: That's all right we're friends.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: If someone invited you out at 9 p.m., would you be excited or personally offended?
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go first.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: I would be personally offended to be asked to go out at 9 p.m.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: I would be offended to be asked to go out at 7 p.m.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: If you don't propose a time for me to go out like the day before, actually.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: So I have time to prep for this.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: Wow, you're real hard.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Oh I can have real fun.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: I I would be so offended.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: You need to prep.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: If I'm going out for a night out, I need naps, I need water, I need the right amount of food, but not too much food because then you can't drink.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: It's like a system.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Who wants to follow that?
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: Jack.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: I forget the questions.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: So what are we saying?
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: Would you be offended if someone asked you at a nine?
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, would you?
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I'm so sorry.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: I don't think I would be excited, but I would go.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: If somebody needed me to rally up to celebrate a birthday, in your pajamas already.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, I would just get dressed.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: Aren't you in your glasses and like your makeup off?
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Like once this bra is off, and once my makeup is off, nothing's going back on.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, if my people need me, I gotta go.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: I mean, don't do it all the time.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: This is like uh a very PSA to like, yeah, don't turn for it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: But yeah, don't come knock.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: Like you are knocking at my door.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: I will 1000%.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: No matter the time, easily offended by anything.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: I am certainly not offended by going out and having a good time.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: And I'll stay out as long as he meets.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: What a friend.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: What a friend.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Taking one for the team.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: All right, who's cooler?
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: You now are you at 25?
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: And why?
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: Melissa Grace, you're up.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's so mark.
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: It's a mark.
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: I was pretty cool then, and I am really cool now.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: I definitely had a very uncool phase, I feel like, in between there.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: But yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: I honestly can't say.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: Could you answer for me?
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: What do you think?
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: Because you knew me.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: I think now.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: You think I'm cooler now?
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: I 1,000% do.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: And I don't know.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: I think you are just down.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: So, hey, you want to go on a trip?
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I want to then too birding show with sure.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Naby, that's it then.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because I have money to spend at that time.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: Do you still think I was like down and funny?
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: You were down for things.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: You were.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: You were definitely down for things when we were 25, but I don't know.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: Like I just think you have a different vibe to you now.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: I don't know what it is.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: I don't know how to put it into words, but I just think you'll kind of just go with it.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: You roll with it.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: But she's kind of always rolled with the pieces.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: You did.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: But just something about it.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: I think in your 40s, in your mid-40s, I just see a difference in 25.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: But they do say that 40s is the best years because, like you said, you have money to get to travel compared to like when you're 25.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Like and you don't care about things.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: No.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: You know that it's the pieces that you do when you were in your 20s.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: Like it's so different.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: You don't get held up on things.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: You don't get the same.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, you get annoyed at things because you I think you just have less tolerance when you're in your 40s than you did when you were in your 20s.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: But I think it's just a different level of caring about things.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Jack, do you think you were cooler at 25?
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Because I at 25, I already had a two-year-old and I was pregnant.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: So I mean, I guess I was cool, but I think you're cooler now.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: You do?
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, you were fun then.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: Like you were always fun.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Like you used to have a fun vibe about you.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: One that I don't have, but like you just have a very fun.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: When you were 25, it was I think we know what my answer is gonna be.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: But no, you always had like a very chill, fun vibe.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: But I think now I don't want to say chill.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: I'm more like, no, you're not wound up.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: You are a bit wound up.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: But I think now you are more, you'll go out a little bit more, you'll hang out a little bit more, indulge in things now.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: Yes, I do, girl.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: Definitely.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: But I think we already answered mine, and I think I am probably cooler when I was 25 than I am now.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Because I have an old lead.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: But I don't know, because she like you're into fashion now.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: You have trends before they're even trends.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: You are like the cool aunt.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: I think I am cool from that standpoint.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Like, I do think I have like a cooler style about me, maybe, but I didn't back then.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: But I would be more down to go out and do things back then versus I'm such a homebody now.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: True.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: So maybe I look cool, but it's like in my own home.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: I'm front of it.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: But when you're committed to turning ahead, you will.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: And again, that goes back to having to have a nap, having to drink the right amount of water.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Like, I need it.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Is a day prep for me to actually like go out in the evening.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: But you did just do it when we had our reunion with the girls.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, I did.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: That was unexpected.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: That was unexpected.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Shout out to the OGs.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: We though we had a great time.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: You have it in you when you I do.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: If I need to, if I need to, I will show up.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: But Jamie was down for three days.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: I was down and off for three days after.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: We stayed out to what, two in the morning?
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: I don't know, the last time.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: Rebecca.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: It's a Friday night.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: What makes a woman our age cool to you now?
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: So when you look at somebody our age now, like you're on Instagram, you're on TikTok, you're watching a show, and you see somebody that's our age, what to you makes them seem cool?
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: I think if they're like put together.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, I think that's a big thing.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Like that they take time for themselves to like you could see that they worked out, they're like getting their meal.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Yes, a thousand percent.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Is there anybody that you follow that like sticks out in your mind?
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: No.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Not that I can like think off my head.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: But that's what I would think.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: Plus, I agree.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to think of some line that I don't I don't know.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: I follow so many people on Instagram and TikTok, and I'm like, oh man, no, I they really act like I like their vibe, so I'll follow them.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Like I couldn't tell you their name.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: But I think it is that overall vibe of just like being put together, you know, working out, eating right, looking good, like dressing appropriately for their age, but like in a really cool way.
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: But then I like when you actually meet somebody like that, but then know that it's like shit show behind the scenes.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: Then I'm like, they're my kind of key.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: Exactly, exactly.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: But I also think confidence is like another thing.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Like when you see somebody that's like very confident in themselves, I think that's something else that like I really admire in someone.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: Great questions, James.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: All right, Jack.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: What is your biggest I've become a mom moment?
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: I think when my kids did something, like, say they were throwing a ball in the house, and I was like, don't throw the ball in the house.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: This is my house.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: And then I felt like my mother was coming out of my house.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: And I was like, oh my gosh, I turned into my mother.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: Like, just like something like that.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Or like hearing sayings that like she might have said when you were younger.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: Coming out of you.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Before we go, we're ending with a little PS.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: One thing we want to leave you with something we're loving, watching, using, whatever.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Who's got one?
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: All right, Jackie.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: So I don't remember what TV, if it's on Netflix or Hulu, like I don't know.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: But it's called Furious.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: It is so good.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: I didn't know what it's about.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: It's the girl from Shameless.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, Emmy something.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I do like her too.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: You just have to watch it.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: What is it about though?
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Give us a little sneak peek.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: What's it?
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: What's it about?
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: I don't even know how to explain it without like saying it.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's one of those.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: It's just so good that I was hoping there's gonna be a second.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: And soon as it left you as a cliffhanger, it's definitely gonna have a second season.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: It was so good.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Is it like a mystery?
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Kind of.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Like this girl was getting like abused.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: That's okay.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: So it's like a serious like trauma thought.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: And then, yeah, she's like trying to get back at people.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: And then that girl from Shameless is a cop.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: So, but I don't want to give it away to our viewers.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: Of course.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: But it's really good.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: So hopefully by the time we meet again, you guys would have watched it.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: And do a little debrief.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: That's what I recommend.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Melissa.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: So I actually just re-watched White Lotus when they were in Italy.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: So good.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Because I was actually at some of the places though, Ape in Sicily.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: And that's my favorite season.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: Yes, Ray.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: It's such a bit shouting.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: How do you watch today?
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: No.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: My God.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: Is it scary though?
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: No, but it does have like a mysterious aspect of it, but it's not scary.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: It's not scary.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, probably what I just told you to watch, it might be probably more darker than what you're telling me.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: There are some dark parts to it, but not like it's not scary at all.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Like they're not jumping out of a closet.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: No.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: No, not.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's what I don't like.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like I haven't watched it in forever, but from what I've remembered it's kind of like there's always somebody who's a bit dark in it, right?
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: So it's like that character, like figuring out who that character is.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: It's a little mysterious, so like has like a little edge to them.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: It's very good.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: I want to start like three or four seasons.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Three.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: And they're making a pork.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, what is that on?
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: HBL.
- 18:34unknown: Yeah.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: It's very good.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: Something I'm loving right now is retinol.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: Have you guys been using that?
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: It's not like a traditional retinol.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: It's like a retinol like alternative.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: I don't know, because it's from that brand I was telling you about, the uncommon dame.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Oh, Kristen Cavalieri's brand.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Is it softer?
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Like, is it not ash?
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: So I use it.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: I've used other retinol where have they completely have like torn, not torn my skin up, but like I am flaking.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: I am so red from it.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: So I'm using one by Charnie Darden, I believe her name is.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: And it's like a lighter type of retinol.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: So you don't get the redness, you don't get like the flakes or anything like that.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: But she's like a facialist to the stars.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: Like she, yeah, and she has like a new product line out.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: So I don't know if it's new, but she has this product line out, and I've been using it.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: And so I've been loving that.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: I use it every single night.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: They say they use it every single night, and it just is so good for your skin.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: That's what that's just what I'm loving.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: So I got back into that because 40s will start showing on your skin, obviously.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: All right, well, that's our first episode.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: Thanks for hanging out with us.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: We'll be back in two weeks, probably with more opinions.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: Bye.
