- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to the Observatory Podcast.
- 0:05Speaker 2: With your hosts, Scott and LaRae Wright.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Join us each week as we explore living life from
- 0:11Speaker 1: the inside out. Welcome back to the Observatory Podcast. Today,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Rae and I are going to sit down for a
- 0:22Speaker 1: little bit of a somber conversation because it involves me
- 0:27Speaker 1: losing my brother, Jeff. He passed away a couple weeks ago,
- 0:32Speaker 1: coming up on a couple weeks ago, and going through
- 0:35Speaker 1: the funeral and the connection with the family and all
- 0:39Speaker 1: of those things are things we're going to discuss, as
- 0:41Speaker 1: well as not getting stuck in the grief and how
- 0:44Speaker 1: I can feel Jeff's presence still around and still here
- 0:48Speaker 1: and influence and in the music. We're just going to
- 0:51Speaker 1: talk about that a little bit. So especially if you've
- 0:54Speaker 1: lost a loved one or anything like that, hopefully this
- 0:57Speaker 1: will be something that can give you some hope help
- 0:59Speaker 1: you to not hold so tightly to maybe the grief
- 1:02Speaker 1: that you're in and just allow yourself to feel it.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So sit back, relax, and enjoy this podcast. Welcome back
- 1:10Speaker 1: to the Observatory Podcast. Sitting down here with Ray again,
- 1:14Speaker 1: we're going to have a conversation about some things that
- 1:18Speaker 1: have been happening in our lives, especially lately around our families,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and take a few minutes to do that. So welcome. Welcome, honey.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's always good to Find the time to come together
- 1:30Speaker 2: and sit down. I always love, you know, sitting down
- 1:34Speaker 2: and recording a podcast, especially when we kind of talk
- 1:38Speaker 2: about what it is we want to share, what's on
- 1:40Speaker 2: our heart, why that's meaningful, why that may be meaningful
- 1:44Speaker 2: to others. And it's, you know, just that validation of
- 1:48Speaker 2: sharing that we feel very connected to together, but also
- 1:54Speaker 2: to the community that joins us here on the observatory.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah. you know, we all have, uh, universal experiences, uh,
- 2:03Speaker 1: living through a life. And I got to have one
- 2:05Speaker 1: of those experiences, uh, last week that was super hard. And, uh,
- 2:10Speaker 1: we got to go through this together. Um, my brother, Jeff, uh,
- 2:15Speaker 1: passed away suddenly. He was in a, an ATV accident
- 2:18Speaker 1: and was seriously injured and passed away. And it was
- 2:24Speaker 1: totally unexpected, of course. Very shocking. Um, I have five brothers,
- 2:30Speaker 1: so there's six of us, and he was the first
- 2:33Speaker 1: one to go. He's third in age, but he was
- 2:38Speaker 1: the first one to go. And there's kind of been
- 2:39Speaker 1: this debate with my brothers and I. I'm the youngest,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and my brother Steve is the oldest, and he's 11
- 2:47Speaker 1: years older than me. And I'm 65, be 65 this month.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So there's this wide range of ages between us, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: Jeff was 71 when he passed, and we spent the
- 3:01Speaker 1: whole of last week preparing for the funeral. My brother
- 3:09Speaker 1: Paul and I went to Idaho where he was, where
- 3:13Speaker 1: he passed away, in Ovid, Idaho, in the Bear Lake Valley,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and he and I spent time with Jeff, Jeff's family,
- 3:23Speaker 1: All of his children were there. His wife was there,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and we got to sit with them, cry with them,
- 3:29Speaker 1: hug them. They hugged us. They comforted us. I mean, Sandra,
- 3:35Speaker 1: she comforted me probably as much as anyone there. She's
- 3:43Speaker 1: been through a lot with this experience, and it was
- 3:48Speaker 1: hard to lose my first brother.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah. It's such a tender parting when it's unexpected.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Well, you experienced this with your sister in 2020. So
- 4:04Speaker 1: you had it and then I've had it now. And
- 4:06Speaker 1: it's just....
- 4:09Speaker 2: And we wanted to kind of share because I think it.
- 4:15Speaker 2: One, it helps us come together in our humanity.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And it also.
- 4:20Speaker 2: helps us just take a pause in all that we're
- 4:23Speaker 2: doing and remind ourselves some of the things that are
- 4:29Speaker 2: really important. And Jeff had turned 71 in June of
- 4:35Speaker 2: this year, so he was just barely 71. And his
- 4:38Speaker 2: health had been a little bit up and down, but
- 4:40Speaker 2: he was feeling great right now. We had just had
- 4:43Speaker 2: a beautiful family reunion in July.
- 4:46Speaker 1: He lost a bunch of weight. He'd had some real
- 4:48Speaker 1: heart issues for like over a year. And that had
- 4:53Speaker 1: cleared up. He was doing much, much better. He looked
- 4:56Speaker 1: a lot, lot better. Right.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And so two older brothers and then also an older
- 5:03Speaker 2: cousin brother.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And so then Jeff, then the cousin brother.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I have two cousins and my uncle passed away. And
- 5:11Speaker 1: so they came to live with us when they were teenagers.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So I.
- 5:16Speaker 2: affectionately call them cousin brothers.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah i and i just call them brothers i was
- 5:21Speaker 1: i was six years old when they came so i
- 5:24Speaker 1: call them brothers they feel like brothers to me.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And so it's um you know he was also one
- 5:31Speaker 2: that was very good at at kind of coordinating and
- 5:34Speaker 2: organizing and you all were planning on gathering at the
- 5:38Speaker 2: end of september.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yep and he had At his place.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And he had started to kind of give you prompts
- 5:44Speaker 2: as to some meaningful things he wanted to talk about.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So he, you know, everyone in our families carry roles.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And his was very pivotal in keeping you organized together
- 5:59Speaker 2: and bringing you back together and having these brother reunions
- 6:02Speaker 2: that you had. And so that's a tenderness that now
- 6:09Speaker 2: is in question. Like, how will we come? When will
- 6:12Speaker 2: it feel right to come back again? And those are
- 6:16Speaker 2: really big realities of when someone is taken so quickly
- 6:20Speaker 2: from your life without any warning. Not that it's easier
- 6:24Speaker 2: in any way, but it just gives you that pause
- 6:28Speaker 2: to say, I have to go through this grieving process.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I have to figure how I feel out for a minute.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And, you know, we were all just together. They all came, obviously,
- 6:41Speaker 1: for the funeral. So we were all there. And we
- 6:45Speaker 1: got to hug and cry and process together with all
- 6:51Speaker 1: of our families as well. And I don't know. I'm
- 6:57Speaker 1: going to try not to get emotional.
- 6:59Speaker 2: And it's okay that you do.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Losing Jeff was really... I think each one of us
- 7:12Speaker 1: as brothers would say it was super impactful. And I
- 7:15Speaker 1: think it's going to impact each one of us in
- 7:17Speaker 1: a different way. But I told you this morning, it's
- 7:22Speaker 1: given me a sense of urgency. For? That time could
- 7:30Speaker 1: be short for any of us. And so... it's important
- 7:36Speaker 1: to take advantage of that time. And what I've been
- 7:41Speaker 1: doing over the last several years and what you've been doing,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and we've both kind of been on this pathway, it's
- 7:46Speaker 1: like there needs to be a little bit of a
- 7:50Speaker 1: sense of urgency about helping people find ways to heal.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And we have found ways, we're finding ways, and we'll
- 8:02Speaker 1: continue to find ways To heal. Because life, it's just
- 8:07Speaker 1: a process of that. Our last podcast, we talked about preferences.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And those preferences can sometimes create energies around our lives
- 8:19Speaker 1: where we do need some healing from those things. Because
- 8:24Speaker 1: we get stuck in the myriad of ways. But I
- 8:28Speaker 1: feel a lot less stuck. And I... I feel closer
- 8:39Speaker 1: to Jeff. I've felt closer to Jeff since he passed.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And had an experience with my boys playing music right
- 8:50Speaker 1: after he had passed. We were playing harmonicas together, and
- 8:54Speaker 1: I just had this sense and this feeling that Jeff
- 8:58Speaker 1: was there. I mean, he was a musician. He loved music. Yes,
- 9:02Speaker 1: he did. And, you know, my experience with music has
- 9:06Speaker 1: been one of, very very spiritual journey with music not
- 9:11Speaker 1: just playing music but being music and when I can
- 9:16Speaker 1: get out of the way and go to that place
- 9:19Speaker 1: I feel it feels different all I can say is
- 9:25Speaker 1: it just feels different it was already good but it's
- 9:28Speaker 1: better I feel like this confirmation or acceptance of what
- 9:42Speaker 1: some of the things I had been telling Jeff about
- 9:44Speaker 1: music that he now understands. And I don't really know
- 9:50Speaker 1: how to explain that other than to say that getting
- 9:55Speaker 1: present and going into music and allowing music to just
- 9:58Speaker 1: play through you is different than playing music that already
- 10:02Speaker 1: exists it's way less head and a lot more heart
- 10:08Speaker 1: and in that space of playing from that in the
- 10:12Speaker 1: heart space I've felt a connection to Jeff Um, not
- 10:18Speaker 1: in a woo woo, he's in the room kind of way,
- 10:21Speaker 1: but in a, the energy of Jeff was there.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I could sense his love for me. I could sense
- 10:29Speaker 1: my love for him. Um, the, the adoration that we
- 10:33Speaker 1: each have and have had for music while we, we
- 10:36Speaker 1: each saw it differently. It's still the same thing. And, uh,
- 10:43Speaker 1: it was hard. Um, He passed away a week ago
- 10:47Speaker 1: last Thursday. And the Monday after that, I'd taken the
- 10:51Speaker 1: whole weekend and been processing that. And when Monday came,
- 11:00Speaker 1: there was a video that I believe Jenny, his daughter,
- 11:03Speaker 1: shared with us. And it was him singing at the
- 11:07Speaker 1: Bear Lake County Fair. He'd just barely done that with
- 11:10Speaker 1: his guitar playing and singing. And he was singing a
- 11:14Speaker 1: John Prine song. about Monday. It's going to be a
- 11:19Speaker 1: hard Monday, I think is the name of it. And, man.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It was.
- 11:26Speaker 1: It was a hard Monday.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 1: And all the preparations were being made for the funeral
- 11:35Speaker 1: and for what was going to happen. And there was
- 11:39Speaker 1: so much support in my family. We don't all see
- 11:43Speaker 1: things the same. But there's no judgment going on and
- 11:47Speaker 1: there's no shame. We're not all following the same path.
- 11:50Speaker 1: We're not all religious or non-religious. It's a mishmash of
- 11:55Speaker 1: all of it.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Well, and it starts to give you kind of clarity
- 12:01Speaker 2: around what family means. And certainly family means something different
- 12:06Speaker 2: for every family. But it helps you within the boundaries
- 12:11Speaker 2: or within the circle of your own family ask yourself,
- 12:15Speaker 2: what does family mean to me? And do these relationships
- 12:21Speaker 2: mean something to me? And what is it that they mean?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Because these relationships have been witnesses to our life from
- 12:30Speaker 2: the start. And while we may have ups and downs
- 12:34Speaker 2: and we see the world differently and people take different
- 12:37Speaker 2: paths and we have what I would call now learning
- 12:42Speaker 2: experiences with each other, right? that if it weren't with
- 12:46Speaker 2: a family member, you may not engage with them or
- 12:50Speaker 2: you may not let it impact you. But because it's family,
- 12:54Speaker 2: because it's inside that circle, those ups and downs are
- 12:59Speaker 2: with you and you're weathering it. And that is what
- 13:03Speaker 2: we all go through within the circle of our family.
- 13:07Speaker 1: And you're weathering it together.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And you weather it together. And when you can keep
- 13:12Speaker 2: your arms around family, that unit, it's just beautifully designed
- 13:17Speaker 2: that the unit of family brings to us so much
- 13:22Speaker 2: experience that we learn through and that we can navigate
- 13:28Speaker 2: because by its structure itself, it is supportive. Even when
- 13:33Speaker 2: people are in the most challenging situations and I can
- 13:38Speaker 2: only speak to the family's the family circles that I know,
- 13:43Speaker 2: which is mine and now yours, those are the two
- 13:46Speaker 2: family circles we have the opportunity and gift of being
- 13:51Speaker 2: a part of. And those family circles, you know, they're
- 13:54Speaker 2: very different, but yet they're so full of love and
- 13:59Speaker 2: so full of support. And yes, they're also full of
- 14:03Speaker 2: challenge at times and they're full of heartache, but it
- 14:07Speaker 2: gives us the foundation that we then can show up
- 14:11Speaker 2: in the world. and know that we're not alone.
- 14:15Speaker 1: You're not going to avoid that in life. No. That's
- 14:18Speaker 1: the pattern of living.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I think it's an agreement that we might have all
- 14:22Speaker 2: had when we chose a life journey.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 2: And we made that commitment of family. It's kind of
- 14:30Speaker 2: like a commitment of soul saying, we will have this
- 14:36Speaker 2: journey together. We will be one another's witness.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And we will understand what we each choose and what
- 14:43Speaker 2: we struggle with and what we celebrate. And we're going
- 14:46Speaker 2: to be, we're going to be there.
- 14:47Speaker 1: For the ride.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 1: You know, it's interesting, the timing of everything. My good friend,
- 14:54Speaker 1: Carl Rabke does an event twice a year on Memorial
- 14:59Speaker 1: Day and Labor Day weekends. And it's, it's an event
- 15:04Speaker 1: to help process grief. And it's usually from the loss
- 15:08Speaker 1: of a loved one. I think almost always it's involved
- 15:11Speaker 1: in that. And so they bring in, I think there's
- 15:15Speaker 1: probably about 30 people or so. And he's had me
- 15:18Speaker 1: come in with him and Alex, the other guy that
- 15:21Speaker 1: runs it with him. And we play drums. Vinny has
- 15:24Speaker 1: joined us and played drums. Vinny Campillo has also joined
- 15:29Speaker 1: us and done that before. But while we're doing that,
- 15:33Speaker 1: it's really heavy drumming that's going on. And people are
- 15:37Speaker 1: going up to, to this altar that they've created to just,
- 15:41Speaker 1: it's like, you know, memories, pictures of family members, uh,
- 15:46Speaker 1: all of these different things. And they take time to
- 15:49Speaker 1: go up there and process. And, um, it just so
- 15:53Speaker 1: happened that that was this last Sunday at right after
- 15:56Speaker 1: Jeff's funeral was on Friday. So I got to go
- 15:59Speaker 1: to this event and witness all of these people that
- 16:02Speaker 1: were there processing their grief. And, um, It's a really
- 16:08Speaker 1: super powerful event, but this time, I mean, it was
- 16:12Speaker 1: even more so because my heart was so tender having
- 16:16Speaker 1: just had this experience of burying Jeff on Friday. And
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm witnessing people processing their grief, and Carl invited me
- 16:27Speaker 1: to also go and participate and do that, and I
- 16:30Speaker 1: was able to do that. And, you know, shed lots
- 16:34Speaker 1: of tears, and I am... sad i would say uh
- 16:40Speaker 1: i'm missing jeff i miss the fact that i can't
- 16:43Speaker 1: pick up the phone calling right um there's a lot
- 16:47Speaker 1: of things about that that i am really gonna miss
- 16:50Speaker 1: and it seems surreal but i'm also grateful that he
- 16:56Speaker 1: wasn't severely injured right um that he passed suddenly and
- 17:03Speaker 1: uh He didn't, the way he left this life would
- 17:07Speaker 1: have been the way he wanted to leave. It was
- 17:10Speaker 1: like my dad left. My dad, he wasn't in an accident.
- 17:14Speaker 1: He went and fed his horses and passed away from
- 17:16Speaker 1: a heart attack.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And Jeff, same kind of thing. I mean, his wife
- 17:22Speaker 1: was right around the corner. She didn't even know that
- 17:25Speaker 1: it happened. The ambulances and everything had come and she
- 17:27Speaker 1: didn't hear it or witness it. She was busy on
- 17:30Speaker 1: a phone call. I didn't even know that it happened.
- 17:33Speaker 1: It was an hour and a half later and it
- 17:35Speaker 1: was 200 yards from their home that this accident happened. And,
- 17:40Speaker 1: you know, the circumstances around it and all that really
- 17:43Speaker 1: don't matter. As I went down to the crash site
- 17:46Speaker 1: and looked at it, it was like, how could this
- 17:48Speaker 1: have killed him? It didn't look that bad. But it
- 17:54Speaker 1: was enough. And it just seemed like everything that was
- 17:56Speaker 1: going on in Jeff's life and the things that he
- 17:59Speaker 1: had been preparing and kind of had without saying it,
- 18:04Speaker 1: had this intuition because he was, like you said, he
- 18:07Speaker 1: was organizing the next brother's retreat. He was organizing a
- 18:11Speaker 1: retreat with his sons. Which he had just completed. Just
- 18:15Speaker 1: completed right before his death a week before. They all
- 18:18Speaker 1: went to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on an event together, he
- 18:22Speaker 1: and his three sons, just the four of them. And...
- 18:28Speaker 1: He went down and visited his son and his family
- 18:30Speaker 1: in Arizona. He went down to Saratoga Springs here in
- 18:34Speaker 1: Utah and visited his other daughter and their family. He
- 18:38Speaker 1: had just been doing all of the stuff. The day
- 18:40Speaker 1: he passed away, he was headed to Idaho Falls where
- 18:43Speaker 1: his daughter's son was going to be going to the temple.
- 18:48Speaker 1: The Mormon temple. To go on a mission. They would
- 18:52Speaker 1: have left that day and gone and seen that, but
- 18:56Speaker 1: it wasn't to be. So it's difficult to see that,
- 19:01Speaker 1: but all of these things that he was doing in
- 19:03Speaker 1: his life, playing so much music and sharing so much music,
- 19:11Speaker 1: the thing that he was passionate about, it was music.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I was passionate about music, and he was passionate about music.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I still am. And I really feel that his influence
- 19:26Speaker 1: is there And it isn't that I'll play music like
- 19:29Speaker 1: him or the way he played music, but it's like
- 19:33Speaker 1: this energy behind me saying, keep doing this. This is
- 19:36Speaker 1: what you're supposed to do. That's what I feel.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It's a gift that has been given you to use
- 19:44Speaker 2: as an expression while you are in this world.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:48Speaker 2: And that's one of the things. that we all, you know,
- 19:53Speaker 2: I think strive to.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Search for.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Right, we search for it, we strive to find it.
- 19:57Speaker 2: We sometimes pursue different paths that take us down different avenues,
- 20:01Speaker 2: but it is what brings the greatest joy to us
- 20:04Speaker 2: when we align to it and can share it with others.
- 20:08Speaker 2: and find that that is where my expression blooms. And
- 20:13Speaker 2: that's definitely where his expression was at its best, and
- 20:17Speaker 2: it's where yours is.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It is. During his services, all of his children spoke,
- 20:25Speaker 1: and his two sons also sang. Yeah, it was beautiful.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Devin and Dustin sang together, and then Dustin sang one solo.
- 20:34Speaker 1: It was beautiful.
- 20:36Speaker 2: His voice is angelic.
- 20:38Speaker 1: The music was amazing. Music is a magical thing. So
- 20:42Speaker 1: that was a deep thing that Jeff and I had
- 20:44Speaker 1: a connection with. And we played, we jammed. He'd play
- 20:47Speaker 1: his guitar and I'd play my flute and we would
- 20:49Speaker 1: jam and just have fun.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And I think as it's still very tender on your
- 20:56Speaker 2: heart and hard, it has given you sort of a,
- 21:03Speaker 2: not a wake-up call, but like just kind of Pay
- 21:06Speaker 2: attention to this, Scott, to the way you spend your
- 21:09Speaker 2: days and the time with the ones you love and
- 21:14Speaker 2: that each day we've been given this wild, beautiful life
- 21:18Speaker 2: and how we choose to use it each day. It matters.
- 21:22Speaker 1: It does. And I want to be more productive in
- 21:29Speaker 1: the things that I'm passionate about, music, mostly music, but
- 21:34Speaker 1: other things too. And I just think it's important. I
- 21:39Speaker 1: think I have a message that I want to get
- 21:41Speaker 1: out there. And it doesn't have any words attached to it.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It's about you can play music.
- 21:49Speaker 2: It's an expression that you can express with music.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Everybody can play music. And I think I have the
- 21:57Speaker 1: capacity and gift to be able to teach that to
- 22:01Speaker 1: people who don't think they can play music. Yeah, because
- 22:04Speaker 1: you already have. Because that happened to me.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:07Speaker 1: That's what I want to do. That's what I feel
- 22:10Speaker 1: passionate about is opening that up for other people. So
- 22:14Speaker 1: I don't know how that's going to unfold, but I
- 22:17Speaker 1: know that it's important that it be shared.
- 22:21Speaker 2: And it's an important aspect of the way you also
- 22:24Speaker 2: honor Jeff.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And his love for music as well. So it's a
- 22:28Speaker 2: way you'll keep him close to you.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It is. And he's a driving force behind it, I
- 22:33Speaker 1: can feel.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:36Speaker 2: So it is a tenderness that we all experience. We
- 22:43Speaker 2: don't get out of this life without experiencing it.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I was going to say, you know, if you're listening
- 22:49Speaker 1: to this and you're someone who's lost a loved one,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I remember someone, when you lost your sister, Jean, we
- 22:56Speaker 1: had one of our good friends come over and sit
- 22:58Speaker 1: down on the couch and talk to you about it.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And he said, don't get stuck in the grief.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Right, because I didn't want to get out of bed.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't really want to get up for a
- 23:07Speaker 1: few days. And it really was, uh, difficult with your
- 23:12Speaker 1: sister because it was, didn't have to happen. It wasn't,
- 23:17Speaker 1: it was an accident, you know, a surgery that went
- 23:20Speaker 1: south and, um, but so unexpected. And she was like Jeff,
- 23:25Speaker 1: kind of this bridge.
- 23:26Speaker 2: She was the oldest one.
- 23:28Speaker 1: She was the oldest and the wise one and the
- 23:32Speaker 1: peacemaker and, of that. Jeff had a lot of that too.
- 23:36Speaker 1: He bridges, there's a lot of wide range of differences
- 23:39Speaker 1: between all of us brothers. And he was kind of
- 23:42Speaker 1: the bridge between the two. He was the bridge between
- 23:46Speaker 1: the rebels and the compliers.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And it, you know, that day, because it can be,
- 23:54Speaker 2: it can be easy or easier to get lost in
- 23:58Speaker 2: the grief because the grief is so heavy when you
- 24:03Speaker 2: when that moment first happens, when you first lose them,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and that separation is so hard. And as you sit
- 24:09Speaker 2: with it, and as you understand that life moves forward,
- 24:15Speaker 2: that the best way to honor them is to continue
- 24:18Speaker 2: to live life, not get stuck in life. Because they
- 24:24Speaker 2: would want that. They would want you to continue living
- 24:27Speaker 2: and to be expressing and living your full self while
- 24:32Speaker 2: still here and once you can get to that there
- 24:37Speaker 2: you know it's a roller coaster there are days when
- 24:40Speaker 2: the longing and the sorrow is so great you know
- 24:44Speaker 2: or you'll hear their voice you'll hear you'll hear the
- 24:47Speaker 2: song that he's saying and it'll take you back to
- 24:49Speaker 2: a moment and.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Roller coaster is the perfect word i've been using that
- 24:53Speaker 1: a lot lately.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And it's just it is the It is something that
- 24:58Speaker 2: the heart goes through to teach us, but it's an
- 25:01Speaker 2: experience that makes us stronger and makes us more committed
- 25:05Speaker 2: to living while we're here and living with fullness for
- 25:10Speaker 2: all those that are still here with us and that
- 25:12Speaker 2: we love.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's take advantage of the time you have, right?
- 25:17Speaker 1: Tomorrow is promised to no one, as they say.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And I'm not afraid to leave this world. And I'm
- 25:27Speaker 1: not afraid to not accomplish what I want to accomplish.
- 25:30Speaker 1: But what I do want to do is just every
- 25:31Speaker 1: day strive to do more and strive to help more
- 25:36Speaker 1: and learn more and be curious as we continually talk about.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:41Speaker 1: And do it together. Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I want to still do this ride with you.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I do too. A little more traveling to do probably.
- 25:48Speaker 1: More traveling. We're not in the no-go stage yet.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Nope. Not in the no-go.
- 25:54Speaker 1: And so.
- 25:56Speaker 2: But we're glad to be back with you. We're glad

- 27:57Speaker 3: Would never come.

- 28:08Speaker 4: be a long Monday.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Stuck like a tick of a clock.
- 28:13Speaker 3: It's coming round again.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Soul to soul, heart to heart, cheek to cheek. Come
- 28:49Speaker 4: on baby, give me a kiss to last all week.
