- 0:15SPEAKER_01: What is going on, ballers?
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another episode of The Fancy Fumble.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: I'm here with my co-host Joe the Birdman.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Joe, how the hell are you doing today, brother?
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I'm doing great, man.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I made the playoffs in six out of eight leagues, and I locked in a bye for two of them.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: So I'm pumped.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I barely squeaked by, as I was discussing in our group chat today.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: I barely, by the skin of my teeth, got in in three leagues.5 points in two leagues and two points in one league.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: That's how close.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, all of my leagues were very, very close this year, much closer than past year.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So it was very exciting.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Um, I definitely thought I was losing going into the night game, and that was a horrible night game on both sides of the football.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: So I got lucky.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I'm doing well, man.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: How are you doing?
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Doing great, man.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: I didn't do that many leagues this year.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I am in the playoffs fourth seed in both of them.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: So I feel pretty good, you know.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Strong season, my team's starting to click.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: You know, this is a tough week, first week of the playoffs, right?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: There's not a lot of good matchups, right?
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of, you know, if you have some of the top-tier guys, you know, they're they're unfortunately going up against some of the top tier, you know, uh defenses matchups.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: So um we'll get into like obviously specifics on how to go about that.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: But first, um, you know, we want to let you guys know this is gonna be our uh last episode for the season.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: You know, we're season-long fantasy guys, we're not DFS guys, as we talked about here.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, at the end of the day, we don't have a lot more information to give you.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: So hopefully we got you to the playoffs, guys.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Uh, we appreciate the support.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Next year is gonna be a bigger year.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Uh, but before we get into uh news and notes, a word from our sponsors.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Hey there.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: My name is Manny James Gonzalez with PRB, and I'm a real estate agent here in Central Florida.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I'm a U.S.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Navy veteran, military relocation pro, and big supporter of 2A and veterans' rights.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: My specialty is VA transactions.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I'm also experiencing all parts real estate.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: I've been living in Florida for over 20 years, and I can tell you we still believe in freedom down here.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: One of the greatest job markets, excellent economy, and no state income tax.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: When it comes to an agent, you want one that's gonna be honest, not afraid of a fight, and most importantly, you're willing to do the things that some agents aren't willing to do.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: And what's that, Manny?
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: Two straight Dan.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: If you ever consider buying in Central Florida, you need somebody you can trust, and I got your six.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I'm Manny James Gonzalez, find land for the free and home for the brave.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Well, we're in week 15 into the playoffs, but unfortunately, the injury apocalypse has reared its ugly head again.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And this time, we've got a few guys you need to keep your eye on, but there are a couple that are out for the season.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Starting with Daniel Jones with a torn Achilles, and right now backup quarterback Anthony Richardson is still on IR, and backup quarterback Riley Leonard is dealing with a knee injury.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: So the Colts signed Phillip Rivers to the team this week.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: He hasn't played football since 2020, so that could get interesting.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz suffered a torn ACL, and he's out for the season, of course.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: He was doing really well this year.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, we're pretty high on him here at Sports Mind, so that that was a disappointment to see him.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And the Bengals wide receiver T Higgins, he is going through the concussion protocol again.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: This is the second concussion in three weeks.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: So it's possible they sit him for a few games or possibly the rest of the season.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Keep an eye on that.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, if you've got him, make plans to adjust.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Cowboys wide receiver CD Lamb is also in the concussion protocol.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: They say he's going through it well, but it's the NFL.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: You never know what to expect.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: He might not play this week.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Falcons wide receiver Drake London.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: His status is still up in the air for week 15.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: And Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf, who had an amazing game, uh, could miss some practice due to stomach pain, but he should be fine for week 15.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: And Dolphins running back, Devon A.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Chan, he had a bruised rib.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: He underwent an MRI, and everything appears to be fine.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: It didn't show any serious issues, so he should be good to go.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but again, just keep an eye on that and grab uh Jalen Wright if you don't have him as a backup already.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Welcome back, ballers.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: So now me and Joe were trying to switch things up.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: Obviously, last episode, uh primarily we're just trying to give you some playoff tips, playoff strategies for the rest, you know, rest of the year.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Um, this is the point where people, you know, um, obviously it's it's tense, right?
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: You you know, you're a one and done now.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: You either win or you're knocked out.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: So um one of the things that I like to look at is you know playing the matchups, right?
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, for example, I have one league I have CJ Stroud and Drake May.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: Drake May has a been a top five fancy quarterback all year, but he's playing against the Buffalo Bills.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: Um, and then CJ Stroud is, of course, you know, playing against the Arizona Cardinals.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: As much as I think, you know, Drake May is a much better quarterback, like all around, in a much better situation, I'm still gonna play CJ Stroud just because I feel like you know it's an easier matchup.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: It's more likely that you know a team like like the Texans are trying to establish themselves, whereas the Patriots are trying to keep that by.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: So I feel like they're not gonna take a lot of risks.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: So if you're looking for winning that matchup, I think obviously, you know, the higher upside is with CJ Stroud.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: How about you?
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Any uh tips for these guys?
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's a good idea to, as you just said, look at the matchups.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: And me personally, it's something I do towards the end of the season.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, if I have a winning record and I'm and I'm anticipating the playoffs, I'll grab two defenses because this is a time of year where you're going to deal with tough matchups and you can't settle for maybe five points, and you're looking for someone that's gonna have a really good matchup.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Um, so I'm rostering two defenses in every league and just kind of going with the matchups for the next three weeks, just taking a look at which is the better one to play that week.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: So you should have enough room on your roster to have an additional defense because it's it's getting to be that time where you can't just plug in your defense and hope for the best.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: You actually know which teams are bad and which teams are good and who's gonna have the higher upside, even if they're not a great team.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: So I would just suggest rostering two defenses.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Great strategies.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, they uh they adopt it here, you know.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Um, at the end of the day, you know, you gotta go with what you know, right?
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Like you got to go with those uh that feeling you have that gut feeling, right?
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Um absolutely definitely trust your gut, man.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Now, before uh further ado, let's go ahead and get into the hot matchups.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Now, for my hot matchup, I have uh god damn it, hold on, I just lost my notes.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Now for my hot matchup, I have the Bills versus the Patriots.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: There's a lot on the line for this game.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: The Patriots have won 10 games in a row and are nice and rested after the bye week.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: And the Bills have been great the last two weeks.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: They're 9-4, and they still have a slim chance of winning the AFC East if they can pull off a win this week.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: If they don't, their chances are pretty much done.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: But Drake May is averaging 20 points a game.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: He's been rock solid all season.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: He's a must-start, but this matchup, as you mentioned earlier, will be more difficult against a tough Bills pass defense.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: And Drake tends to spread the ball around, which limits the upside of his pass catchers even more.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: You know, in addition to having a tough matchup, he does spread the ball around.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: But I do anticipate a high scoring game.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: That's why it's my hot matchup.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: We know he likes to run the ball as well, but he hasn't been as successful in recent weeks.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: But I feel like he's gonna run a little bit more this game again, just because uh the Patriots are not gonna be as successful with the Bills against the pass.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, he does have more success on the ground this week because for the last month he hasn't been as reliable as he was towards the beginning of the season.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: And um, as I mentioned, the receivers are gonna have their hands full against the Bills.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: But Stephon Diggs and Kayshawn Booty, they could be flex plays if you don't have a better option.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: Hopefully you do.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: You're in the playoffs, you probably should.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Um, but if this game does turn into a shootout, which I anticipate, they should have a safe floor.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: But it's also the possible that the Patriots just lean on the run game.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: And that's why I'm I'm focused a little bit more on the running opposed to the passing for this game.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: And uh, despite the Patriots going back to a running back committee, I really like Trevion Henderson this week.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: The Bills are weak against the run, and even if Ramondre takes some carries away from Trevion, I anticipate a big day for him.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: And for the same reasons, I actually think Ramondre will have a safe floor this week, too.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Um, one thing though, I would not start Hunter Henry.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: I know he's been good, but the Bills have been shutting down tight ends the entire season, and that's probably gonna happen to Hunter Henry.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: And on the other side of the ball, the Bills are a very similar team to the Patriots, and Josh Allen is a lot like Drake May.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: He likes to use his legs, he likes to spread the ball around, and you don't know who's gonna be catching the ball each week.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: With that said, this is my hot matchup because I anticipate a high-scoring game.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: So I know he's been pretty bad over the last month, but I think there will be enough scoring to start Khalil Shakir, the typical boom bust.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: I know he's been mostly a bust over the last month, but I do like him this week.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: And I actually think that Dalton Kincaid will have a big day as well.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I I prefer him over any of the wide receivers, really.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: So I like him a lot.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And the main difference with these two teams is the Patriots are monsters against the run.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: But you start James Cook every single week without thinking twice.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: A high scoring game and plenty of volume gives him a high floor regardless of the matchup.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, and you covered it really well.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Um now uh for my hot matchup, I have Detroit versus LA Rams.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: I think this is the second or third time that Jared Goff and Mass Stafford meet up again since they've been traded by their respective teams.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: You know, obviously uh LA Rams, uh, which were the St.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Louis Rams, right?
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: They ended up drafting uh Jared Goff and uh vice versa, right?
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: The Lions drafted Mass Stafford, they traded him for each other and they've both been super successful.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Uh starting off on the Detroit side of the ball, um, Goff so far is uh 289 for 412 uh in passing attempts and and completions.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: He has 3,334 pass yards and 26 touchdowns.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: So he's been super solid this year as he has every other year since he's been over there.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Um the big one to highlight here, if you have him, Jameer Gibbs has been on an absolute tear.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: He's already over a thousand yards rushing.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: He's actually averaging 5.7 yards a carry, which is amazing, right?
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: Like you're seeing you he touches the ball, he's gone.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, he already has 13 touchdowns.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Um, and so far he has 66 targets and 187 carries.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: So when you look at that 13 games, he's average actually averaging uh 19.4 touches a game.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: So Jameer Gibbs, he's gonna win your matchup, right?
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Um, I'll talk more about him a little bit later.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Um, next guy, Amon Ross St.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Brown, right?
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: He's he's already uh he's almost at a thousand.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: He has 976 receiving yards for the season, but 81 receptions on 117 targets, that means he's averaging nine targets per game.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's obviously with a slower start to the season, right?
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Things are gonna definitely pick up here come playoff time because I mean at the end of the day, lions like to pour on points.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Um, now on the LA Rams side, you there's so many people to talk about, but I'll talk about the main ones, Matt Stafford.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, he has been QB5 all year long, right?
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Fancy football.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: He has thrown for 288 uh completions on 432 attempts, 3354.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: So he's actually like only uh 20 more yards than Jared Goff.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: However, he has 35 passing touchdowns.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: So 35 to golf 26.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: So he's about nine nine touchdowns more.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: So I think that obviously it's gonna be another multi-touchdown game for Matt Stafford because I mean who you can't talk about Stafford without talking about Puka Nakua and Devontae Adams, right?
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Puka Nakua already has 118 targets for 93 receptions.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Uh he's already uh almost at 1200 receiving yards, he's at 1186.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: Granted, he only has six touchdowns, but he's actually averaging 9.8 targets per game, which is ridiculous, right?
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Like um, and you'd think with that many targets, there's not enough to go around, but uh beg to differ, Devontae Adams uh already has 14 touchdowns for the season.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: Granted, it's only on 58 56 receptions, but he has 718 yards.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: So when he is getting the ball, he's making something happen, right?
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: And then if you're looking for a nice flex, I know Kyron Williams has been putting up RB2 numbers, you know, pretty consistently, but now with Blake Corum coming on, I mean, uh, those two guys are gonna be, you know, if you are debating on who to start, honestly, you can start on both and and live with the results, right?
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Because you're gonna get about 15 to 20 a game on each guy.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: I I feel like for that situation, I I would definitely start Kyron over Blake Horum just because he's been so consistent all year.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Um now, don't get me wrong, Blake Horam looked awesome and he has been getting more reps.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: But I if you're gonna choose between those two, I'll definitely go Kyron.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: But that's a valid point.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: You if you got double flex league, you could probably flex them both and be okay.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: Uh those teams, they both have really good defenses, but the offense for both of them is just ridiculous.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: I didn't realize Puka had that many targets.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, man, he's he's probably gonna finish at the tippy top of the food chain with targets this year and um receiving yards altogether.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I feel like despite both of those guys having or both of those teams having really solid defense, uh, the offense is just gonna overwhelm them both.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And I I like that game a lot.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: I think that's probably gonna be the most exciting game this week.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be the one I tune into.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: If I could pick one game, it's definitely that one.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Not the Eagles.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Fuck the Eagles.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Well, that brings me into uh our cold matchup.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Nippoli in here.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: So for my cold matchup, I have the Raiders versus the Eagles.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Now, when we talk about hot and cold matchups, it's always related to fantasy football, not just the game as a whole.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: So I I feel like you guys know that, but just a reminder.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Um, so when you look at this on paper, it looks like a smash, right?
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: The Eagles have a record of eight and five, and the Raiders have a record of two and eleven.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: With that said, I don't believe there's gonna be like a total blowout.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna be I think the Eagles are gonna win, but I don't think they're necessarily gonna dominate.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: And if you look at this on paper, you'd think the Eagles are just gonna run through them, but they haven't put up a substantial amount of points for the last six weeks.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: It's hard to say which wide receiver will get the looks between AJ Brown and Devonta Smith each week, although the last three weeks it's been all AJ.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: Um, so you know, I'd probably lean that direction, and I'm gonna start both of them without really thinking too much about it.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, but again, it's just like with the way Hertz has been playing, their ceiling isn't as high as it as it typically would be.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: And Saquon Barkley looked awesome last week, but has been mostly a disappointment this season compared compared to what we are expecting.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: And Dallas Goddard started out really hot, but completely fell off until last week.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Again, that's a tight end position.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna think about it too much, you probably play him.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: But just with this overall offense, I just would lower the ceiling.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: And even against the Raiders, it's just what we've seen from the Eagles.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: And if you look at them, aside from the game against Dallas, Hurts hasn't really done much in the last six weeks.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: He's had one game with over 20 points, and the rest have been below.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And I just don't know what to do with his offense anymore, which sucks because I have a lot of Eagles on my fantasy teams.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: But again, I'm gonna start all those guys I mentioned just with lower expectations.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: And the Raiders have been exactly what we expected coming into this season.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Uh, thankfully, Ashton Genty is heavily involved in the passing game because he hasn't been able to do much of his carries.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: He's only passed 100 yards, 100 rushing yards once back in week four against Bears.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: In most games, he has around 50 give or take rushing yards.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: So you hope he gets bailed out with receptions or a touchdown.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: And Brock Bowers is the only other player worth starting.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: A tight end averaging 15 points a game is great, but it's still well below our expectations coming into season.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: And even if the Eagles do dominate and they're winning by two scores, I imagine they're just gonna kind of grind out the game rather than turn it on like you would see the Detroit Lions do.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: You know, and I agree with you.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: Even despite the fact that the Eagles need to turn it on, they're not, they're not going to, right?
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh right now, speaking of Ashton Jeti, I mean, most people would think to to bench him the first round of the playoffs.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: And I was one of those people, but when I saw the matchup against the Eagles, we're like 26 against the run.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: So if anything, we're gonna we're gonna sputter, we're gonna have some issues, and the Raiders are gonna play this tough.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: And uh tough means running the ball, right?
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: So I expect Ashton Gente to be the only person that would start.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: And and luckily, my rule of thumb for fantasy football is um almost never draft somebody from your favorite team, right?
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Because you know, it takes a little bit of bias and puts it into the equation.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: And so if I had any uh shares of the Eagles this year, I would be pissed off.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: I'm pissed off.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I've I've managed to get to the playoffs in most leagues, but not with their help.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Now with not with much help from them, no.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Now, for my cold matchup, I'm gonna take two teams that are at the bottom of the division for the NFC East.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be the Washington uh Washington Fourskins going against the New York Midgets.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: They play in New York, so it's gonna be cold.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Both teams, uh, I mean, Jackson Dart's been pretty solid, but I mean, outside of that, like I'm not starting Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: I'm not starting any any of those wide receivers with the exception of Wandell Robinson.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: He's been the only consistent light, him and Jackson Dart on that side.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: On the Washington side, there's nobody that you would want to start.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: Terry McLaurin's been out all season.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Uh Jaden Daniels is probably out for the rest of the season now, right?
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Because he got hurt again.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: So I wouldn't risk my future by with the lost season.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Um, and then it's this backfield committee, right?
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: So, like at the end of the day, there's like not really but one or two viable options on both teams that I would be happy with.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: So um I just think it's gonna be a grind fest.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, you're gonna see a bunch of no names probably score here and there, but at the end of the day, it's gonna be probably the ugliest game of the week, and I want no part of it.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I completely understand what you're saying about that game.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: You really don't know what to expect from these teams that are basically just throwing a towel.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: So um I am gonna start Jackson Dart in one league, um, but I have Jaden Daniels in two leagues and and he's staying on my bench.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: You know, Debo's gonna be uh starting in one league as a double flex, but like you said, they're gonna be giving some other guys playing time, and none of these guys are are reliable starters.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Now let's get into our shit calls.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: So this is actually gonna be our shit call of the year to wrap things up.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: And my shit call of the year is don't listen to all of the quote unquote experts and the rankings and the projections.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: Now, I have done that too many times this year where I trust the projections or I trust the experts.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: And even us, if you guys feel like you've got a gut feeling that one player is gonna be better than what we're saying, then go with your gut.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: That's my main takeaway this year is trust your gut because there were so many times where I was gonna play one guy, and then I looked at the projections and I listened to what the experts were saying, and I changed my mind.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: And a perfect example is last week.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: I really liked the uh matchup for DK Metcalf, but I heard all these experts saying Adonnie Mitchell's the guy to start this week.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: They had him ranked way higher than DK.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: So in three leagues, I played Adonnie Mitchell over DK Metcalf, and it cost me the game because DK went off for a hundred like thirty yards, and uh Donnie Mitchell had like one catch.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: So if you have a gut feeling, trust your gut, not the experts.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Now, for my shit call of the year, so I had to think about it, and I was like looking back at it.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Um, my biggest regret this year, I would say, was um I'd say it was two things.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: So, number one, I actually uh if you guys remember from the first episode of preseason rankings, I actually had Josh Jacobs at like number four and JT Jonathan Taylor at number five.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: So I'd say that's one of my biggest shit calls is putting Josh Jacobs one step before JT because JT obviously has had a much better season, and I had him almost on the same tier.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but I guess my other big one is I I traded for Joe Mixon in all my leagues.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: I thought that he was gonna get back from injury you know around weeks 10 or something like that.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: I was like, hey, you know, I'll I'll get him late, but I'll get him for the playoffs.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, when you have a player that has not had an update since the off-season and with no clarity, you never go for that player, right?
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: So I think we've seen it before in the past with different players, right?
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think Brandon Ayuk was having some issues, right?
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: There's there's different players that you have no information on it, and no experts can give you information, and then you're just taking it as hey, this is a late round sleeper, it's gonna be a good pick.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: If you were grabbing Joe Mixon, you grabbed them in the eighth or ninth round, and that was a waste of pick, right?
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: I didn't draft him, but I did trade for him, and I remember one of my packages included uh Jameer Gibbs, and I got Mixon and Derek Henry back, and as you can tell, I completely lost that trade.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: So, word of advice from now, you know, from now until the end of time, uh, do not take risks on players that have no updates or information.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: That's that's very, very valuable advice.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: And you can look throughout the season of uh players that were just out for weeks at a time, like Ricky Pearsall.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: We were getting no updates on his knee injury, he was just out, out, out.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: So when you're not getting a substantial timeline or any kind of updates, I completely agree.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Just steer clear of that player, yeah.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Move on.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, Bucky Irvin, right?
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Like, come we thought he was out for a couple weeks.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: He ended up being out for like six, seven weeks.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: You know, there's a bunch of players like that.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: So, you know, go with the gut.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you're not gonna drop Bucky, but you know, uh other players you're gonna move on from.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, Bucky turned out great, but we had to wait about a month longer than we thought.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: Well, ballers, it's that time we hate, you know, and this is the worst time.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: It's the last episode of the year.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: You know, we appreciate all your support, guys.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: I know we joke around and we talk a lot of shit.

- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Um, we're gonna come back next year better than ever, right?
