  of that, I wanted to talk about some things I've learned from

  matchmaking that are crucial that you need to have in common.

  There's other things that aren't as important, but there are some

  basics that you should always have in common with somebody.

  OK, so let's talk about it. I'm Gina Hendricks.

  I've been a matchmaker since 2008.

  Yeah, 16 years Today. I've written books.

  I've hosted 2 radio shows. I'm on numerous TV shows talking

  about celebrity dating and how you can do dating better because

  I'm passionate about it. OK, I'm located in Los Angeles,

  but my company is global, So there's a few crucial things

  that you always have to have in common.

  But when it comes to the basics, I'm going to rattle a few off.

  These are non negotiables that I believe is a matchmaker you

  should always have in common. Oh, and if you really want to

  Let's just get into it. Think you're long term goals

  have to align. So if you're somebody who

  definitely wants to get married and start a family, you got to

  find out if this person is on the same page.

  If that looks like a plan that is in their near future, OK.

  And if it's not, they're not for you.

  I think that, you know, if you're a person who doesn't want

  any more kids, you can't have any more you don't want anymore.

  You shouldn't be dating somebody that's still open to having

  them. You should have similar goals,

  hobbies. The more things you can have in

  common to do together. I believe as a matchmaker, this

  will sustain the relationship long term because guess what?

  People looks fade, looks fade. So just because you're madly

  attracted to somebody now, you have to still respect them, see

  them as a friend, and understand that you guys have a similar

  sense of integrity and value system in place as a foundation

  of your relationship. And then hopefully, the more

  things you have in common, really go the distance.

  To really go the distance, I believe that you have to have

  more. The more things in common, the

  better. And yeah, you'll have some

  people pop in and go, been married to my husband 35 years.

  We have nothing in common that is very very few and far

  between, few and far between. But if you guys like to go

  dancing together, if you guys like to play golf together, if

  you guys have religious beliefs in common, morals, values,
• 2:48
  goals, long term plans, the way you guys like to spend money or
• 2:53
  save all these things are crucial to a long term committed
• 2:57
  relationship and long term marriage.
