- 0:00Big ninety eight point seven. It's Today's Variety. Hello, we're piking Amanda
- 0:03in the morning, Hia twenty eight, this weekend, mid thirties and sunshine.
- 0:06Well, it's Friday. You know what that means. Oh yeah,
- 0:09time for our favorite hypothetical situation game. Not today being a special Super Bowl
- 0:13Friday. It's super Bowl themed. What do you do? Play along in
- 0:17your car at work on the bus, Amanda? Ladies first? All right,
- 0:21So, Pike, you get offered five hundred thousand dollars to be the
- 0:25spread for the next Sports illustrated magazine. I'm the spread. You are the
- 0:30spread. Except it's not just you. It's you, Jason, Derulo and
- 0:36Drake and you get to be right in the middle. So they're giving you
- 0:41like the prime spot here. You're all going to be in your chonies,
- 0:45like you like to call them, underwear. Yep, yep, yep,
- 0:47yeah, gotcha. You get to stand right in the middle. Five hundred
- 0:50thousand dollars. So, Pike, Drake and Derulo? What a pair?
- 0:56Why'd you pick those two cats? I don't know reasons. What do you
- 1:03do? Well, Amanda, I'm gonna do what I need to do for
- 1:07my family and five hundred thousand dollars is yeah, pretty life changing money.
- 1:11Okay, so yeah, you're all in spread them boys, all right?
- 1:15Perfect. I wasn't sure where you were going to go here. I mean,
- 1:19is it going to look a little a little weird? Yeah, I
- 1:23mean, but no, it's okay. I don't know if anybody's expecting me
- 1:25to be. By the way, did you see Brittany Mahomes. Yeah,
- 1:29yeah, she was on the cover. I thought Sports Illustrated was dead,
- 1:30but apparently they're still doing swing just revived it. If they were looking for
- 1:34her, yep, she looks good. Some more views. All right,
- 1:38Amanda, you get a call from Andy Reid, head coach of the Kansas
- 1:42City Chiefs. Great guy, he says. Listen, Amanda, I got
- 1:46you. I got your number from your husband Nick. He says. We
- 1:49had a running back go down and practice injured, not going to be able
- 1:53to play in the game, so we need you to fill in at running
- 1:57back. Now here's the deal. I know it's a big ask. They're
- 2:01violent men in this game. If you play the entire game, start to
- 2:06finish, and complete the game on the field, you're gonna get ten million
- 2:09dollars. Now, if you're unable to finish the game for some reason,
- 2:14whether it be injury or otherwise, you just get scared. Yep. We
- 2:19then, Amanda, they're gonna have to repossess your house. So, Amanda,
- 2:27ten mil that is life changing money. Do you think you could hit
- 2:30the hole? What do you do running back? I don't even think I
- 2:35could get the outfit on or Okay, but that's the that's the easy part.
- 2:39No, it's not could you see me in a helmet and pads.
- 2:45I don't think I could run from a yard to a yard without tripping and
- 2:49falling. I wouldn't last No, I wouldn't get tackled in two seconds.
- 2:53No, and then what and I'd be concussed? It turned down. You're
- 2:58turning down ten a chance at ten minus million dollars. You gotta think,
- 3:00I mean, he's a he's a Hall of Fame coach. He's probably gonna
- 3:04stop giving you the ball after like the first couple carries. No, I
- 3:07don't even think. I don't even know if I could in the uniform,
- 3:10hold the ball and go. I'm just being really honest about my abilities here.
- 3:15You'd be good of this game, because there's a way for you to
- 3:16get out of that. You know, like, what if you just every
- 3:20play you just turned around, started running the other way until the play was
- 3:23over, just ran you just run to the sidelines. You're single handedly gonna,
- 3:28you know, lose the game for the Chiefs. Probably a bunch of
- 3:30Vegas batter is gonna want your head. But still you're gonna get ten million.
- 3:34But if you're giving me the option to not really have to play,
- 3:36I can just like no as soon as they say, said, said Huck,
- 3:39and I could just fall to the ground. Even then, what if
- 3:42somebody falls on me. That's gonna hurt the big boys coming back there.
- 3:45I know, I don't think I can handle those big boys, right,
- 3:47So you're not doing it because you don't know how to put the pads on?
- 3:51Got it? No? Did? All right? Are you ready?
- 3:57You said you'd do anything for your family. I know they need this home.
- 4:00Okay, all right? You Pike, real popular guy. You woke
- 4:04up this morning to not one but two text messages, one from Taylor Swift
- 4:11and said, good morning, Pikey. I got an extra ticket to the
- 4:14suite for Sunday's game. If you want to join, you can sit right
- 4:16between myself and Brittany mahomesh mm hmm. You ready for text number two?
- 4:23Are you sure? Guy named Jordan Love and it says something like, hey,
- 4:30bro, I know we didn't make it to the super Bowl. In
- 4:32fact, we had a terrible season. Why is he telling me this?
- 4:39But this is the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. By the way,
- 4:42But since you're such a great fan, I'd love for you to join me
- 4:46in a cabin of the woods to watch the game. So Pike the Taylor
- 4:54Swift's not gonna be in the cabin. No, no, you and Jay
- 4:57Love? What do you do? What is it a long weekend? Or
- 5:03we're just there for the game? Just the game. It's just it's just
- 5:06the game. Cabin in the woods with Jordan Love or squish between Tata and
- 5:14Brittany Mahomes in a suite. What the heck? Let's take the cabin.
- 5:16See what happens. You never know. You bring in a bag of chips,
- 5:21you bring anything to the table, bring a crockpot. Okay, maybe,
- 5:26well, obviously he's comfortable with me to invite me. Wait, I'm
- 5:29saying, maybe that's a friendship that you know stands attesta time. Maybe all
- 5:32right, Amanda, final, what do you do. You're at a super
- 5:35Bowl party. The house is packed, friends, their kids, places,
- 5:41nuts, food plentiful. I mean, we're talking a classic super Bowl spread,
- 5:46but nobody's really dipped in yet. We still got lids on crock pots,
- 5:49covers on sauces. You know. Yeah, suddenly, as you're pouring
- 5:54a glass of vodka, a genie appears. I've always wanted that to happen,
- 6:00he says, Amanda. Here's the option you have. You have to
- 6:04right now eat every single piece of food on this table, every scrap to
- 6:11the bottom of every dish. But you're not allowed to explain to anybody why
- 6:15you're doing it. If you don't, everybody in this house is going to
- 6:20contract strap throat. So, Amanda, strap throat, Yeah, not not
- 6:31fatal, But what do you do? I mean, nobody likes strap I
- 6:35know everybody reacts different, Like for me, my legs go numb. It's
- 6:40weird. That's that's not a fact. Oh no, you're like a friend.
- 6:45This friend growing up when we were young, like twenty one, you
- 6:47know, we were all hung over every four days a week. He would
- 6:50always complain about his hangover and he would say, because you know, I'm
- 6:54throwing up, got a headache, splitting headache, and he's like, yeah,
- 6:57you know, my legs just get kind of tired, like that's your
- 7:00hangover symptoms. Your legs get tired. Well, my throat, but it's
- 7:03like my leg It's just it's bizarre. Anyway, you said there were kids
- 7:08there too, right, bunch of kids, Yeah, a bunch of kids.
- 7:10Yeah, I guess we're all getting strep throat. Is that I'm not
- 7:13gonna be able to eat all that? You're really going to send everybody their
- 7:16home sick. I'm not going to be able to do it. I just
- 7:18like to be realistic about that. What if someone You gotta imagine there's at
- 7:23least one or two vulnerable adults, high risk strep throat guys, you've never
- 7:29know. No, there's some people taken out with with less. Do you
- 7:33know how much food that would be. I would be sick for a week,
- 7:36even I wouldn't be able to get through it. There's no fun with
- 7:39you. You're you're really like you're not willing to go above it. Okay,
- 7:44excuse me. I would dive head first into that case, so like
- 7:46literally I would dive into it and just take a bath in the case,
- 7:50so and just start eating and licking it off my fingers. Is that what
- 7:54you wanted to hear? Now? What you need to know? Well,
- 7:57we already know our community is amazing, but yees, yesterday it was a
- 8:01record breaking Giving Hearts Day. More than twenty nine million dollars was raised.
- 8:05That was three million more than last year. There were like five or six
- 8:07organizations that raised a million dollars yesterday alone, over forty thousand donors. Great
- 8:13day. And you know by now, right Sunday there's a big game on
- 8:20and maybe you're not all about the football game. But ESPN did have sixty
- 8:22four experts that sixty five they just called. Oh they did, yeah,
- 8:28heay, Well, you'll have to let me know where you stand on this
- 8:30because the information I have before they reached out to you is them predicting Sunday's
- 8:35game and the Chiefs have the advantage over the forty nine ers according to the
- 8:37forty nine experts. The fifteen others that are remaining are thinking that the forty
- 8:41nine ers are gonna win. Okay, it's forty nine ers minus too.
- 8:46So if the forty nine ers are favored to win, according to Las Vegas,
- 8:48who generally knows. So I don't care at all. I don't want
- 8:52the forty nine ers to win, but then again, I don't want the
- 8:54Chiefs to win either. So you want not Sure to win. Oh Usher's
- 8:56gonna win? Oh yeah, yes one the moon. Today is National Pizza
- 9:01Day, So if you need an excuse, eat pizza. It's kind of
- 9:05our Friday family tradition. Would you a little movie nights? Our kids like
- 9:07to make the little homemade pizzas you get it from all the all you gotta
- 9:11just put the sauce on cheese whatever. And oh yeah, we don't go
- 9:13that way though, we go taco pizza. I like a good lunchable pizza.
- 9:20You've had one, right, I mean it spent some time. But
- 9:22yeah, of course I remember them fondly. Why are you gonna tell me
- 9:24they're gross. I'm just not a lunchable person. No, no, it's
- 9:30fine. All those memes about you know, lunchibles versus shark couterie board.
- 9:35No, like when my kids at I'm not sure that's ham or turkey,
- 9:39and that lunchable like, what is that? Man? It doesn't matter.
- 9:43It's eligible so disgusting. Even some of the cheese. I'm like, Eh,
- 9:46my biggest pet peep as an adult is like if let's say at work,
- 9:48they bring pizza in, and I like, I appreciate the free pizza,
- 9:52but it's like, you don't need to bring a cheese pizza. It's
- 9:54so annoying to me because the more the merrier for me. Love like supreme,
- 9:58but we've never even introduced our kids to cheese pizza. You know,
- 10:01I don't I get it. But then also, you can just pick the
- 10:05pepperonis off. But I hate when you're at an adult function and your options
- 10:09are pepperoni and cheese. I'm like, oh, where are the children?
- 10:11Can't you hit me with some sausage? I thought this was an adult pizza
- 10:16party. Excuse me. And by the way, give me the thin crust.
- 10:20Makes such a difference, a little hypothetical. I know, we just
- 10:22did. What do you do? But I got a Gundia and I say,
- 10:26take me to the best pizza place in Fargar moorehead. Oh gosh,
- 10:30like just straight pizza. What's open as far as like the classics like Geo's
- 10:33that's closed right, the one that was guys, I'm talking classic and I
- 10:37love Ramis I'm just saying, like, what's the other one, Dwayne's.
- 10:39That's of course probably oh yeah, that's that's gonna be my three AM pick
- 10:43from Yeah, pizza Patrol. I you know, I've never had pizza Patrol,
- 10:46probably because I didn't go to college here. Really, oh my god,
- 10:48I've had more four am pizza Patrol. And it's uh, yeah,
- 10:52that's all I'll say about that. Just even that be ah, gosh,
- 10:58you got me. The one thing I will tell you now, remember I
- 11:00do have a gun. Honestly, I'm going Casey's, Casey's Taco Pizza all
- 11:07the way around. Gosh, pizza so batter. I don't even like pizza.
- 11:09That's how hot take. But it's just it's fine. It's good.
- 11:13It's food. I love food, but it's just not pizza. People go
- 11:16nuts over it. Everyone said it growing up doing my favorite foods. Pizza,
- 11:20give me a burger, give me wings, give me Chinese. General.
- 11:28If you ever had a general, is it to sow or sow?
- 11:31Nobody knows. That's the interesting thing about it, because I'm always like,
- 11:33it's impossible to say I'm terrible at that. But anyway, what if they
- 11:37made that on a pizza like I've had Thai pizza, but that would be
- 11:39a good one. Thai pizza is so good. Zorbis has a good one,
- 11:43all right. Okay, weather little dicey today, road slippery underneath that
- 11:48snow, so take a little extra time wherever you're going today. Otherwise today
- 11:50canna be cloudy, a chance of some snow high at twenty eight the weekend,
- 11:52though, turning back around, it's gonna be about mid thirties and some
- 11:56sunshine in the morning, Big Naty eight point seven. I want to talk
- 11:58about something I saw online. Somebody posted a photo and it really really connected
- 12:03because if you've flown, you know that there's not a lot of space.
- 12:05We all know that, and it's getting smaller and smaller, or I'm getting
- 12:09bigger and bigger, or it's a combination. It's possible. But somebody posted
- 12:13a photo of they're in their seat in the you know, coach regular person
- 12:16section of an airplane economy where we all sit. You know, if you're
- 12:20a taller person, and I am not, so I don't understand the pain,
- 12:24but I know it's tough if you're taller on an airplane. But the
- 12:26person's foot was behind them coming underneath their seat and into their area. How
- 12:33do you even because I'm five seven and I actually thought you were going to
- 12:37go the other way. I'm a I try to put my foot leg over
- 12:39like kind of crisscross it a little so I'm not in somebody's space. But
- 12:43as soon as you your leg starts going downb and you flip over, I
- 12:46usually hit that person like oh sorry yeah, because it is so tight.
- 12:48But I've I've tried to put my feet under well, you try your best
- 12:52to like straighten your body so they have two bars. I mean you can,
- 12:56you can get through there, and so people are like, you know,
- 12:58you got to say something to them, but it's just the awkward.
- 13:01You know, everyone's doing their best, but are they really? You know?
- 13:05So what do you do in that situation somebody's put his stick in under
- 13:07there? Do you just kick them? Do you just like gently rub them?
- 13:09Do you start massaging their ankles? You know what I would do?
- 13:15What I'd bend down like I dropped something and go no, I hate feet.
- 13:20I would probably passive aggressively put my seat back or you know what I
- 13:24mean, like do something like oh sorry, you know, trying to not
- 13:28be rude about it, but at the same time like back up off,
- 13:31Yeah, and you can always give them the look that goes for a lot
- 13:33of things. On an airplane. If the person behind you is doing something,
- 13:37you look through, like just kind of peer through the little seat,
- 13:39and as soon as they make eye contact with your one eye, they know
- 13:41whatever they're doing, you know, whether it's like being loud, the kid
- 13:46kicking your seat. That's the biggest pet peeve in the world. I was
- 13:48gonna say, usually we get to know the people behind us because my kids
- 13:52are like standing going like, Hi, how's it going. I'm like,
- 13:56okay, can we can we not converse with everybody here? Guy? But
- 13:58that's adorable. I mean, I'll take I'll talk to a kid all day.
- 14:01Peka was great. But when the kid is just kicking the seed and
- 14:05a parent is and I don't have kids, so I can't say I understand.
- 14:09But when you're sitting there just watching your kid kick the seed in front
- 14:11of you and go this is fine. God, No, that guy doesn't
- 14:15need to be comfortable this flight. Can I get that Bevy cart? My
- 14:18kid's just being a little rascal, But can I get another vodka? Cram?
- 14:22Thanks? Appreciate it, Amanda. In the morning on SIG seven,
- 14:28I have a little information on the super Bowl and kind of where people are
- 14:31at on the whole thing. Amanda. All right, so the super Bowl,
- 14:33most people plan to watch at home or with alone or with immediate family.
- 14:37Over half of the people surveyed. You put you got big plans,
- 14:39you have a big party. I do love watching the game at home.
- 14:43It's kind of just on your own, like you want to if you want
- 14:45to pause it, if you want to destroy the bathroom. No, that
- 14:48wasn't anything you were going to say it, But I mean, it's just
- 14:52like comforting to know you're at home. It's the fact that I can just
- 14:56at any given time go up into my back and still watch it and act
- 15:01like I'm all in. That's great, you know. Yeah? Yeah,
- 15:03Now, Amanda, I I know you're curious. Have not gotten invited to
- 15:07any super Bowl party? Really? Yeah? So there's a non zero chance
- 15:09that we just don't watch it because we actually got rid of our tr live
- 15:13TV so we only have like streaming services shot it here. You're not gonna
- 15:16not watch them? Where am I gonna go? Where am I gonna go?
- 15:18Well? I found out yesterday over at the local seven oh one,
- 15:22they have happy hour all day long. Okay, tempting, tempting, indeed
- 15:26and great like, but you know me, I'm I'm not into it because
- 15:30the packer's lost. So people say that speaking of Usher in the halftime performance,
- 15:35who says, by the way, he'll be doing the longest halftime show
- 15:37ever, a whopping fifteen minutes. Yeah, they added two minutes to that,
- 15:41which money wise two minutes. Would you say seven million for a thirty
- 15:45second advertisement? So yep, times at by four they're missing out on twenty
- 15:48eight million dollars of advertising. Maybe the last two minutes of the show he'll
- 15:52be like dropping some sponsor names in the whole time, ye wearing some road
- 15:56gear PEPSI yay. Yeah, they do say that twenty seven percent of people
- 16:03hope that Usher brings guests out. I'm trying to think of his big collabs.
- 16:07Alicia Keys would kill me. Alicia Keys with my boot would be awesome.
- 16:12But he's already gonna bring a little John and Ludacris, which is sick,
- 16:17yeah, but otherwise big Yeah. I don't know if he's got any
- 16:18big collab. I'm sure we're missing some but nothing like, nothing huge.
- 16:23I think that that's probably enough, just after some of the songs. We've
- 16:26already played this hour and will continue to play Usher all morning. He does
- 16:30not he doesn't really need it. I mean, he is such an amazing
- 16:33dancer. They did a little promo video yesterday. Yeah, I'm like,
- 16:37I mean he is Michael Jackson Junior. I mean, the way his moves,
- 16:41the way he does everything, it is gonna be an amazing performance.
- 16:45It's nice, it's refreshing that Yet, he's a good dancer, and that's
- 16:47part of his thing is he's a great showman. But he can sing his
- 16:51rear off. I know he's a coach on the voice. I don't when
- 16:55when was that? That was probably a long time ago. I don't remember.
- 16:57I kind of dipped out of the voice about ten years ago. Twelve
- 17:00percent of people say they don't know any Usher songs. I just feel bad
- 17:03for them, really, But yeah, I mean, which, whatever,
- 17:06if you're not around, if you weren't listening to it, yeah, I
- 17:07suppose you have what demographic you're in? All right, onto the food,
- 17:11Amanda, Let's get hungry. Thirty two percent of people The largest answer Number
- 17:15one answer was their main course will be chicken wings. Kind of a staple
- 17:19with the Super Bowl party. It's you can't go all in on one dish,
- 17:22especially the main dish, because there's so many good sides. Obviously,
- 17:25when you're talking super Bowl dip? What do you think the number one favorite
- 17:29dip was any sort of dip that you might say, No, that was
- 17:32actually like number seven? What? Yeah, only eight percent of people said
- 17:36that's their go to super Bowl? So are we just going typical like queso?
- 17:38Yeah? Number one? Yeah, the caeso you got it cheese or
- 17:41caso? Right by behind was Buffalo Chicken. Which whoever makes that Buffalo chicken
- 17:45dip in the crock pot always good? Oh my god. Okay, so
- 17:48when you do your caso, how do you do it? Do you just
- 17:52do velveta cheese and salsa? Okay? Pipe and hot? No, I
- 17:56don't know. I've never made I've never done the melting process. You really
- 18:00haven't. No. Oh, there's just so many different versions where like I
- 18:03don't care to do the velveta style. I like to do like the cream
- 18:06cheese, so it's like more of like a creamy white ok so, hm,
- 18:10spice and well I'm going to have to go to a super Bowl party.
- 18:12Now we're talking about it. Yeah, exactly, You're just going for
- 18:15the food. And just so you know, all of you who are like,
- 18:17gosh, I'd love to have Pike at my super Bowl party, just
- 18:19know that he's only going to bring a bag of chips if that, and
- 18:22I won't be there long. I mean I'll literally swoop in at halftime,
- 18:26load a plate up. Watch Usher, load another to go, plate up,
- 18:30and I'll leave. That'll be it. It'd be a twenty minute thing
- 18:32in out lamba already ready, that's he is piping hot today. Now,
- 18:38Amanda stills the seat looks see we're talking super Bowl halftime show. So on
- 18:44average it's usually twelve minutes. And I know there's been a lot of artists
- 18:47that have begged to have more time. In fact, I remember j Lo
- 18:49because they did a documentary with her. She was so upset that they were
- 18:53not able to like add a couple things because she had to share the spotlight
- 18:56with Shakira and they were doing everything they could because they had to dip out
- 19:00of a lot of different opportunities that they thought were gonna be fantastic. Well,
- 19:04Usher added two minutes. He's getting fifteen minutes to shine and those two
- 19:08minutes can feel like a lifetime. So that's gonna be awesome. That's like
- 19:12a whole hit or two that he can add. And as you've learned,
- 19:15as we're playing them all morning, like there's a lot, and there's a
- 19:18lot. We haven't even scratched the surface up. So that's amazing. And
- 19:21there's been a lot of rumors like is it just gonna be usher? No?
- 19:23Yesterday he said, I would be a fool not to play. Yeah,
- 19:27let's just start there. I'd be foolish to make it all the way
- 19:30to Vegas. John's here, Luda's here, and not play. Yeah,
- 19:34so little John, little time or just John, he said, John,
- 19:38because they go way back. Curser John and Luda got to a certain age.
- 19:44Yeah, you're not, You're just regular John now Johnathan. Anyway,
- 19:49what they're gonna be on stage? John and Luda. Great, they're gonna
- 19:52be here, all the boys. So I'm ready for it. Can't wait,
