- 1:47Speaker 5: we got Moose. Up, tada all here with you today.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Glad to be back. Your boy was down and out
- 1:53Speaker 5: on Friday. Hadn't been sick like that in a hot minute.
- 1:57Speaker 5: So I appreciate everybody that hell out shout out to
- 2:01Speaker 5: everybody that helped out, because it was, uh, it was
- 2:03Speaker 5: a group effort. I hear on Fridays on deck, So
- 2:07Speaker 5: I truly appreciate everybody that helped out.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Yeah, knee jerk reaction was just like, yeah, just play
- 2:11Speaker 6: the national show. Yeah, I'm just gonna do that. I
- 2:16Speaker 6: don't know what's on, keep it rolling though, Yeah, but
- 2:19Speaker 6: I know I got a little pep in your voice today.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Oh yeah, excited, got a little caught up on some sleep.
- 2:24Speaker 5: You just wanted some sleep, Huh. I did get some
- 2:26Speaker 5: good sleep. Good I did.
- 2:28Speaker 2: It's good.
- 2:29Speaker 5: Katie held the entire house down for the entire weekend.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Y'all held the work portioned down for Friday.
- 2:36Speaker 2: So who I was out?
- 2:38Speaker 5: Yeah, that was That's not a fun one. That is
- 2:41Speaker 5: not a fun sickness to get. And uh, you made
- 2:44Speaker 5: it through. When was the last time you actually got sick?
- 2:46Speaker 5: Oh dude, it's besides like just a little running nose.
- 2:50Speaker 5: It's probably been like six six years good six years
- 2:54Speaker 5: or so since Yeah, more than a decad after a decade, yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 5: uh well, I think I had three old him last
- 3:00Speaker 5: time I got.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Sick almost you know, Memphis of the Baby. I could
- 3:03Speaker 2: have done that, like last year when bumps here, I
- 3:06Speaker 2: had to wait. I don't know.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Let me tell you when I when I wrote that
- 3:11Speaker 5: message about four am going into Friday morning, I was like,
- 3:16Speaker 5: I'm gonna get you know occasionally, Hey, you got to
- 3:18Speaker 5: write them. You gotta let him know because there's gonna
- 3:21Speaker 5: be a lot of moving parts and you know how
- 3:23Speaker 5: Matt gets. And I'm like, yeah, you're right. So I
- 3:26Speaker 5: wrote you, I wrote the group. Then I wrote Dixon
- 3:29Speaker 5: Richard Dixon at the same time, because I'm like, it's
- 3:31Speaker 5: four am. If I know Dick Dixon, he's gonna be
- 3:33Speaker 5: up here pretty soon. Anyway, I gotta try. I gotta
- 3:36Speaker 5: try to put some pieces together here. Yeah, I was like,
- 3:40Speaker 5: I don't even I can't even do it from the
- 3:41Speaker 5: house today like normally, like if you know you, I
- 3:45Speaker 5: was sick and I just didn't want to be contagious
- 3:47Speaker 5: or something. Then I could fire it up and I
- 3:48Speaker 5: could still you could host, but I could be here
- 3:51Speaker 5: with you and but it was none of that.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It was not gonna be any of that.
- 3:55Speaker 6: No, not gonna happen. Waunders here she had like four arms. Yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 6: you got.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It down though we did. We did our thing. We
- 4:05Speaker 2: did our thing.
- 4:06Speaker 5: We even I heard you hit all the floaters. We
- 4:09Speaker 5: had nailed all the floaters a big deal. The all
- 4:13Speaker 5: the things we needed to do, we did. What's the ticket?
- 4:17Speaker 5: That's your thing always that didn't know what to do there,
- 4:20Speaker 5: but I did it, nailed it. Parlay was kind of
- 4:24Speaker 5: thrown together at the last second. That's on us. We
- 4:26Speaker 5: didn't really prep that one very good. We were an
- 4:28Speaker 5: impressive and four were we that stuff to do? We
- 4:32Speaker 5: went and defeated.
- 4:33Speaker 6: If you think about it, that's stuff to do. That's
- 4:37Speaker 6: equally as impressive to go oh and four than it
- 4:39Speaker 6: is to go four and oh.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Some say it couldn't be done. It's all right, is it? Yeah?
- 4:48Speaker 5: I should have given my because on the other show
- 4:50Speaker 5: we did the meat had moneyline parlay where you have
- 4:53Speaker 5: to pick an underdog. It's at least a three point
- 4:57Speaker 5: dog to win out right, Okay, so that it's called
- 5:00Speaker 5: a meat head parlay. Sure, and I went with Virginia
- 5:03Speaker 5: over Duke and that one in Virginia crushed him because
- 5:06Speaker 5: Virginia was a four and a half point dog got it.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's okay though, Like you, that one's pretty good.
- 5:14Speaker 5: So three or above or so, you got to be
- 5:17Speaker 5: at least a three point dollar and we're picking you
- 5:19Speaker 5: to win, out right.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I like that.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Yeah, meadhead money line parlay it hit one time this year,
- 5:27Speaker 5: and let me just say you, when that hits one time,
- 5:29Speaker 5: you're good for the rest of the year. Yeah, just paid,
- 5:32Speaker 5: You're good. Kind of like our our parlay are stid
- 5:35Speaker 5: hit one. We hit the first one. This is the
- 5:37Speaker 5: first week, the first week, the week that you're actually
- 5:39Speaker 5: supposed to not be great at it because you're not
- 5:42Speaker 5: supposed to know who the teams are.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah. No, we hit that one and that sets set
- 5:46Speaker 2: us up for like twelve weeks. Yeah mm hmm. Sor right.
- 5:52Speaker 2: What about you? Do you like to dabble? You like
- 5:54Speaker 2: to sprinkle a few out there? Oh? Absolutely? Yeah?
- 5:56Speaker 6: Well yeah, how you do it on the season, I
- 5:59Speaker 6: mean not like everybody else not.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, lot the best I was four and three on Saturday.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Okay, see, I feel like I feel like Moose is
- 6:07Speaker 5: sweet Spot would be either Major League baseball or college baseball.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Man, baseball is tough. That's tough to specially college baseball.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Yeah, because you'll have like a minus seven and a
- 6:20Speaker 5: half runline.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, like I know, really it, which is ridiculous.
- 6:23Speaker 5: I like to bet college baseball in the postseason when
- 6:26Speaker 5: they get to the tournament.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes more sense. It's tough in the regular season. Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 5: The only time I've ever consistently done well and sprinkling
- 6:35Speaker 5: a few out there was college basketball live betting. Yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 5: because especially like middle of the season, like if you're
- 6:46Speaker 5: a top five or ten team, you at some point
- 6:48Speaker 5: you go down by ten or fifteen points, you can
- 6:51Speaker 5: catch them even money against somebody they should beat and
- 6:54Speaker 5: they end up winning by like twenty points. Now my
- 6:58Speaker 5: sweet spot is mid major. It is college basketball. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 5: well sure it does. Why wouldn't it be.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Don't let me get a West Coast Conference team.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Are a Missouri Valley team, I'm gonna know everything about
- 7:12Speaker 5: him one because I've got to talk about them on
- 7:15Speaker 5: my afternoon show. But that's where you can find some value.
- 7:18Speaker 5: So I'm just saying, get ready for the Summit League.
- 7:21Speaker 5: I got you. So the Summit League, I've got the Horizon.
- 7:25Speaker 5: I've got you the conferences, the Summit, I've got you.
- 7:28Speaker 5: I got the sun Belt.
- 7:30Speaker 2: The Utah Valley.
- 7:34Speaker 5: I've heard of that, the Atlantic ten, eight tens, great Man,
- 7:38Speaker 5: Great Richmond, teams like that.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I'll messing with me right now. Now.
- 7:42Speaker 5: These are all conference Division one too, as a matter
- 7:46Speaker 5: of fact, and I'm going to give you the winners
- 7:48Speaker 5: coming up here.
- 7:51Speaker 2: February. Probably love that.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe late January, which football wraps up. We kind
- 7:57Speaker 5: of know who you know, who's who? I know? I
- 8:00Speaker 5: know if Iona's playing well since Patino left him. Generally
- 8:07Speaker 5: who wins in the cross conference matchups between the Summit
- 8:11Speaker 5: and the A ten, A ten, eighten aighten is almost
- 8:15Speaker 5: like a power league kind of h youre looking forward
- 8:21Speaker 5: to that. You would know some of the teams and
- 8:22Speaker 5: they really looking forward to that. A ten's like George Mason,
- 8:26Speaker 5: George Washington, Saint Louis, Saint Bonaventure, Oh yeah, Dayton, Richmond, St.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Bonaventure from Nashville. Right, No, they're not in Nashville, I
- 8:37Speaker 2: don't think so.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Loyela Chicago made a run out of they weren't in
- 8:43Speaker 5: the A ten, yet they got in the A ten
- 8:44Speaker 5: because of the run that they made Rhode Island.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Where lamar Odin played.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Yeah, obviously Latino Mobley played at Rhode Allen too.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Just on the tip of my tongue.
- 8:57Speaker 5: So anyway, we'll get you there. I don't know how
- 9:02Speaker 5: we I don't know if I really want to get there.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Oh you will, you will, m NOE, VCU.
- 9:11Speaker 2: You know VC, they've made a run absolutely, Okay, Virginia
- 9:15Speaker 2: common Wealth. That's VC. Yep, am I introducing all new
- 9:22Speaker 2: teams to you. No, I've heard of them. Davidson where
- 9:25Speaker 2: Curry played that one?
- 9:27Speaker 5: Okay, I t they're about Cincinnati. Are they hydrated? No,
- 9:32Speaker 5: we're trying. The problem is, like you can't. You can't
- 9:37Speaker 5: like spend too much time and funds trying to go
- 9:39Speaker 5: after just basketball teams because they're only like nine people.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, fifteen, But I get you.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Go to the football guys because there's multy five scholarships.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah, more or mouse to feed. Okay, that makes sense.
- 9:52Speaker 5: I mean they also play football, most of these teams
- 9:55Speaker 5: at the lower level.
- 9:58Speaker 2: But just a down though. What budget cuts? I bet
- 10:02Speaker 2: you guns got you?
- 10:04Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely had that on the Bingo card starting the show,
- 10:07Speaker 5: talking about a ten.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Basketball How would you want to talk about LSU. They won.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Guess what between LSU and the Saints, no losses. I
- 10:18Speaker 2: thought about that last night.
- 10:20Speaker 5: I was like, when's the last time we came in
- 10:21Speaker 5: where neither team lost.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Now Saints didn't play yep, but they didn't lose. So
- 10:29Speaker 2: good week.
- 10:30Speaker 5: It's a victory Monday, victory Monday. A lot, a lot happened,
- 10:37Speaker 5: A lot happened in the game LSU and Arkansas.
- 10:41Speaker 2: It was a one point victory.
- 10:43Speaker 5: We'll do this, we'll step away, we'll come back, we'll
- 10:47Speaker 5: get the show started. We'll lay out how it got there,
- 10:50Speaker 5: how it all played out, some great individual performances, and yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 5: LSU beats a two win Arkansas team, but still you
- 10:58Speaker 5: had to stop the bleeding. And you did that on Saturday.
- 11:01Speaker 5: And we'll do it when we come back here on OTV.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Off the bench, all right, go to All Star Toyota
- 11:09Speaker 5: vat rouge dot com. If you are buying new, if
- 11:11Speaker 5: you're leasing, or if you are looking to rent, everything
- 11:15Speaker 5: is available to you. We always talk about the rental
- 11:18Speaker 5: process because I believe like right now is probably the
- 11:22Speaker 5: best time you've got Maybe you know playoff games, maybe
- 11:25Speaker 5: you're going to a different part of the state. If
- 11:27Speaker 5: you want to rent a vehicle, you need something bigger.
- 11:29Speaker 5: More people are going or go to the airport to
- 11:32Speaker 5: do that. No, I always like that. You know why
- 11:35Speaker 5: why more expensive? You also know why not as many
- 11:38Speaker 5: options because everything is available at it at All Star,
- 11:42Speaker 5: and it's per day rental prices much better than the
- 11:45Speaker 5: airport rental car. Right, So you just pull into the
- 11:48Speaker 5: parking lot there. Yeah, and like all those cars, you
- 11:51Speaker 5: can rent them yep, per day, per day rental prices.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Everything's available full size, mid size SUVs, trucks and hybrid
- 12:01Speaker 5: fast cars. If you make it go fast. Sure all
- 12:05Speaker 5: start toes dot.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Com, Get.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Tigers, turn talkers. This is off the bench?
- 12:36Speaker 2: Did they play this in Texas? When you're in this was?
- 12:41Speaker 5: This song was probably the source of a lot of
- 12:44Speaker 5: blown up stock subwoofers?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Allright? How many people's car was rattling too? This one gotcha?
- 12:54Speaker 2: All right? Turns up and all of a sudden, that
- 12:57Speaker 2: sucker's blown out.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Didn't know if it made its way to Tyler. Did
- 13:01Speaker 5: you get did you have like a ten or twelve?
- 13:03Speaker 2: Twelve? Twelve? I think got a ten at twelve.
- 13:06Speaker 5: I bought it even bought it with like birthday money
- 13:08Speaker 5: or Christmas money or something. Remember like going to best
- 13:12Speaker 5: Buy and getting it installed and.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah I had the CD deck. I had to
- 13:15Speaker 6: go to mine to best Buy installed mine put the
- 13:18Speaker 6: amp in there.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Wow, I mean I had like one that you know,
- 13:23Speaker 5: it didn't flashing like lit up, it was different colors whatever,
- 13:27Speaker 5: and nothing like when Coach Saban's riding home with you
- 13:30Speaker 5: from your soccer game and you got the flashy radio
- 13:34Speaker 5: right there and.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You're like, oh my gosh, kinda turn this off. Is
- 13:36Speaker 2: there any way to turn this off? The face off?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Just let it ride, Let it ride. Yeah, what a
- 13:43Speaker 2: time to be a cab truck me and coach saving
- 13:45Speaker 2: That wasn't awkward. I had like the one and a
- 13:47Speaker 2: half cab kind.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Of closed the bench sheet though, because I didn't want
- 13:50Speaker 5: to thinking I was trying to get him sit next
- 13:52Speaker 5: to me.
- 13:52Speaker 2: You know, I closed it on up the console, popped
- 13:56Speaker 2: it down. It's smart. Smart.
- 13:57Speaker 6: Yeah, he might have said by maybe yeah, you get
- 14:00Speaker 6: a little sub I think out of it might have
- 14:02Speaker 6: been a twelve, But you had the amp in there
- 14:03Speaker 6: and then also had the at the time. I think
- 14:07Speaker 6: my parents got it for me when I was I
- 14:09Speaker 6: think it's like a graduation gift. It was a screen
- 14:11Speaker 6: that popped out.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Oh oh yeah, oh.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Yeah, you can play DVDs. Not a big deal. Why
- 14:19Speaker 5: you would want that, I don't know. I have no idea.
- 14:21Speaker 5: It's awful.
- 14:23Speaker 6: And then like best by, they installed the secret switch
- 14:26Speaker 6: underneath by the parking break. I was like, you're not
- 14:28Speaker 6: supposed to be able to use it unless you're in park.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, but they switch for me. Yeah, I got
- 14:34Speaker 6: switching on when I went to the park. Not a
- 14:36Speaker 6: huge deal.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I'm sure Alvin loved hearing that.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Your father, who's a lawyer, Hey, he bought it driving
- 14:44Speaker 5: with the DVD playing.
- 14:45Speaker 2: So all right, let's go ahead, Hey, get this show started.
- 14:50Speaker 3: It's time to get glowing courtesy of go Flow ivy SPA,
- 14:53Speaker 3: where hydration vitamins and a summer ready glow are always
- 14:57Speaker 3: on tap.
- 14:58Speaker 5: Now for starters, all right, go to go flowiv dot
- 15:03Speaker 5: com g e a u xflowiv dot com. That is
- 15:07Speaker 5: the website for go Flow iv SPA. Go see them today.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Go see them today. Yeah, it's just right true.
- 15:15Speaker 5: There's some things that left the body that need to
- 15:17Speaker 5: get back into the body, is what you're saying. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 5: it's probably a good idea. Two two five, nine, five,
- 15:21Speaker 5: three eight one five zero is the number.
- 15:24Speaker 2: With the weather the way.
- 15:25Speaker 5: It is, Taylor said, eighty degrees. Remember last week it
- 15:30Speaker 5: was cold, this week not so much. That's what we
- 15:33Speaker 5: deal with here in South Louisiana. Back and forth. Well,
- 15:36Speaker 5: whenever that happens. Obviously, sickness is something that comes with it.
- 15:39Speaker 5: So go ahead and get out in front of it
- 15:41Speaker 5: and go see them at go flow iv SPA.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Yeah, when the weather switches back and forth, well, I'll
- 15:45Speaker 2: tell you what hates that. It's your immune system. So
- 15:48Speaker 2: no spike that immune system. Boost it.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Get that Myers cocktail going this month, right there, go
- 15:53Speaker 5: flow ivy spot, get an account set up, be in
- 15:55Speaker 5: and out probably thirty maybe forty five minutes tops, and
- 15:58Speaker 5: get hydrated, get vit to my get healthy, get well.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Goay. So I just wanted to say one more time,
- 16:06Speaker 2: get one more.
- 16:07Speaker 5: You want to get one more in goo? There you
- 16:09Speaker 5: go go belt today. Oh Lord help us. All right,
- 16:12Speaker 5: LSU gets the victory twenty three to twenty two over
- 16:15Speaker 5: the Arkansas Razorbacks.
- 16:18Speaker 2: It was not pretty. It probably never was going to
- 16:20Speaker 2: be pretty.
- 16:21Speaker 5: In fact, there's some people at the station that thought
- 16:23Speaker 5: Arkansas was going to win the game.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Ha jokes sold you. They did not win the game.
- 16:28Speaker 5: The LSU Tigers found a way and they're probably feeling
- 16:31Speaker 5: pretty fat and cocky when it was fourteen to nothing.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Razorbacks there and it happened in a hurry. Arkansas blocks
- 16:38Speaker 5: a punt, and I believe this stat is seventy eight
- 16:41Speaker 5: percent of college football games, if you have a special
- 16:44Speaker 5: team's touchdown, you typically win the game seventy eight percent
- 16:48Speaker 5: of the time. It feels like pretty it seems high, no,
- 16:51Speaker 5: I mean, but think about it. Special team's touchdown is
- 16:54Speaker 5: usually like a complete game changer. When it happens, it
- 16:58Speaker 5: is like the ultimate moment swing. And so Arkansas gets
- 17:01Speaker 5: what It was like the most clean block punt you've
- 17:04Speaker 5: ever seen. Like it didn't even make a sound. Yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 5: typically here whenever they block, no sound. I was like,
- 17:10Speaker 5: where's the ball. I'm up in the boot trying to
- 17:12Speaker 5: find the ball. It was a clean block. Arkansas scores
- 17:15Speaker 5: on that, and they didn't block at the guy next
- 17:18Speaker 5: to him probably.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Oh there was two guys.
- 17:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a complete misqueue blocking a sign. It's like,
- 17:24Speaker 5: I don't even know that they thought that the ball
- 17:27Speaker 5: was snapped. I was like, wait, the ball snapped. What's
- 17:30Speaker 5: going on here? We went on one?
- 17:32Speaker 2: So Arkansas gets a black punt, they add another.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Score and you are down, Matt fourteen to nothing in
- 17:38Speaker 5: the blink of an eye, right, I mean, you're down
- 17:41Speaker 5: and things aren't going your way.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And with the way the season's.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Gone, it's like, man, this offense right now, can they
- 17:49Speaker 5: come back from fourteen points down? Because you know, after
- 17:54Speaker 5: they score that I mentioned it, they get the the
- 17:56Speaker 5: touchdown run there from Green their quarterback, and before you
- 18:00Speaker 5: know it, I mean, you're down. It's the first quarter
- 18:01Speaker 5: and you're going into the second quarter and you're sitting
- 18:05Speaker 5: there thinking, Okay, this is one of the best offenses
- 18:08Speaker 5: in the country. You're certainly not one of the best
- 18:12Speaker 5: offenses in the country. The defense is going to have
- 18:15Speaker 5: to help you out. The defense is going to have
- 18:17Speaker 5: to play superhuman, it feels like, to get you back
- 18:19Speaker 5: into this game. And the defense certainly made so many
- 18:22Speaker 5: plays and we get to that, but credit to LSU
- 18:26Speaker 5: for not just saying, well, fourteen points, so it takes
- 18:29Speaker 5: us three quarters to even think about scoring fourteen points.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Ain't no way we can come back from that.
- 18:34Speaker 5: And after that remember they put together a nine play,
- 18:39Speaker 5: seventy five yard drive, took a little bit over four
- 18:42Speaker 5: minutes off the clock to make it fourteen to seven.
- 18:45Speaker 5: That was one of, if not the best drive LSU's
- 18:48Speaker 5: had this year. Yeah, certainly, especially especially in the time
- 18:52Speaker 5: of the game, time of the season. It was, I
- 18:54Speaker 5: mean real easy for a team that things haven't gone
- 18:57Speaker 5: your way, lose your co coach, come back game after
- 19:01Speaker 5: after you lose your coach and lose a game. Now
- 19:03Speaker 5: you're playing at home at eleven forty five, you know,
- 19:06Speaker 5: certainly not near a sold out crowd by any stretch
- 19:09Speaker 5: of the imagination.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you got better enough thought, Yeah it was better
- 19:13Speaker 2: than the thought.
- 19:14Speaker 6: I mean, you're down down early like that, you give
- 19:16Speaker 6: away a silly touchdown on a block pund totally blown
- 19:20Speaker 6: assignment on the on the punt protection, uh, and didn't
- 19:23Speaker 6: have a drive like that is fantastic.
- 19:25Speaker 2: So yeah, I would agree with you.
- 19:26Speaker 6: I mean, just for the moment and just like impressive
- 19:29Speaker 6: drive on you know, just kind of putting everything to
- 19:32Speaker 6: the side, put everything way, focus on your job, focus
- 19:34Speaker 6: on the x's and nose. And I thought they did
- 19:36Speaker 6: a lot of really nice things. Vemburen struggled to get
- 19:39Speaker 6: into the game early. You know, it's first start, got
- 19:42Speaker 6: some nerves out there, accuracy problems early on, which is
- 19:45Speaker 6: kind of I think been the knock on him and
- 19:47Speaker 6: practice and everything. So it's certainly some some some accuracy
- 19:52Speaker 6: issues there early on, but settled into the game, made
- 19:55Speaker 6: enough plays to obviously win the game.
- 19:58Speaker 2: But yeah, you know, early on in the d that
- 20:00Speaker 2: long drive.
- 20:00Speaker 6: I thought the running game in the first half was
- 20:03Speaker 6: was pretty darn good too. From a lot of the
- 20:05Speaker 6: a lot of you know, a lot of talk about
- 20:08Speaker 6: the offensive line this year, you know, protection having issues
- 20:12Speaker 6: and the run game having some issues here and there.
- 20:15Speaker 6: But what it really their fault? Were they given the
- 20:16Speaker 6: opportunity to you know, get to the second level and
- 20:19Speaker 6: you know, with the whole RPO mess we've talked about
- 20:21Speaker 6: earlier in the season. I thought they did a really
- 20:24Speaker 6: really nice job this past game of playing with energy,
- 20:29Speaker 6: playing with a little mean streak, even the last week,
- 20:32Speaker 6: even in Alabama, I thought they were trying to bring
- 20:35Speaker 6: bring the pain a little bit. I thought they were
- 20:37Speaker 6: trying to be the hammer a lot of times in
- 20:39Speaker 6: the running game. Now they're missing a little bit their
- 20:41Speaker 6: footwork and their aiming points weren't great, but they had that.
- 20:45Speaker 6: You could see them trying to throw their head, throw
- 20:46Speaker 6: their shoulders strow like they were trying to bring a
- 20:49Speaker 6: little bit of pain and a little bit of thump
- 20:50Speaker 6: to the other team. And they did it again this week.
- 20:53Speaker 6: They were just their aiming points were a little bit better.
- 20:55Speaker 6: They they made contact a little bit more, They played
- 20:57Speaker 6: a lot. I saw improvement in the running game from
- 21:00Speaker 6: last week to this week. And you know, I get
- 21:02Speaker 6: it the the your opponent's not as good. I understand that,
- 21:06Speaker 6: but I watched like little things of how they're they're
- 21:09Speaker 6: double teaming up to the second level, how they're they're
- 21:11Speaker 6: aiming points, of their their hat placement, when they're when
- 21:14Speaker 6: they're coming around and leading up to the will linebacker,
- 21:17Speaker 6: whoever it is. So I thought a lot of that
- 21:19Speaker 6: was improved, and it certainly kind of showed up.
- 21:22Speaker 5: You know.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Of course, I think King Durham has that big run early.
- 21:25Speaker 5: In first touchdown rund what was it twenty seven twenty
- 21:28Speaker 5: seven yards?
- 21:28Speaker 6: Yeah, it was great and I got that. I have
- 21:31Speaker 6: that clip ready to roll. We'll show a little bit
- 21:33Speaker 6: of tape today a little bit later on in the show.
- 21:35Speaker 6: We'll just kind of see go through some big plays
- 21:37Speaker 6: throughout the game and really talk about why this is,
- 21:41Speaker 6: you know, who made some good blocks here, the scheme
- 21:43Speaker 6: and how that how that play kind of unfolded right there.
- 21:46Speaker 6: So but yeah, it was really impressive, I thought, and
- 21:49Speaker 6: you know, I you know, kudos to that offensive line
- 21:51Speaker 6: in the run game for kind of you know, the
- 21:54Speaker 6: season that they've kind of had up to this point
- 21:57Speaker 6: and really playing with a lot of energy.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:59Speaker 5: I mean, there's so many key stats in this game,
- 22:01Speaker 5: and again, Arkansas's offense was one of the better ones
- 22:04Speaker 5: in the country, certainly one of the better ones in
- 22:06Speaker 5: the SEC. Now the defensively is really where they struggle.
- 22:10Speaker 5: But offensively, like that's something that they could count on,
- 22:13Speaker 5: bib with Petrino had really gotten Taylor Green playing at
- 22:16Speaker 5: a very high level.
- 22:16Speaker 2: They're running the football really.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Well, and you know, multiple pass catchers are stepping up
- 22:22Speaker 5: and making plays for them. Let's look at a tail
- 22:24Speaker 5: of the tape and here's why LSU wins the game.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Right first downs LSU twenty one only Arkansas accounts for
- 22:31Speaker 5: sixteen third down efficiency, which Arkansas was so good coming
- 22:36Speaker 5: into this game on third down.
- 22:37Speaker 2: One of the better teams in the country and you
- 22:40Speaker 2: were not.
- 22:40Speaker 5: You weren't even related to something good on third down
- 22:44Speaker 5: on offense, but you flipped the script on third downs
- 22:47Speaker 5: in this game. Arkansas was only two of eleven, two
- 22:50Speaker 5: of eleven. Now they did convert three fourth downs on
- 22:53Speaker 5: four chances, but on third down, where they had been
- 22:55Speaker 5: one of the best teams in the country, two of
- 22:57Speaker 5: eleven for LSU eight of seventeen. You're almost fifty percent
- 23:03Speaker 5: on third down. That was a big story in this game.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Total yards you outgain Arkansas three ninety to three forty.
- 23:11Speaker 5: You throw for more than they do. You were better
- 23:13Speaker 5: as far as your completion percentage yards per pass. You
- 23:16Speaker 5: were seven point one, they were eight point seven. They
- 23:18Speaker 5: throw two picks, You don't throw an interception. Running the football,
- 23:22Speaker 5: and here's probably where you won the game. Now they
- 23:24Speaker 5: ran for one seventy five, that say's true to who
- 23:26Speaker 5: they are. You ran for one fifty five. You ran
- 23:29Speaker 5: for over four yards to carry. You haven't done things
- 23:32Speaker 5: like that, and I know it's not setting the world
- 23:34Speaker 5: on fire, but again, you haven't lived in that world.
- 23:37Speaker 5: You haven't had success like that running the football. Three
- 23:40Speaker 5: turnovers for Arkansas, none for LSU. Time of possession thirty
- 23:45Speaker 5: four to forty five for LSU twenty five point fifteen
- 23:48Speaker 5: for Arkansas. How do you win the time of possession?
- 23:51Speaker 5: You convert on third down and you run the football.
- 23:54Speaker 5: That's how you have time of possession in a football game.
- 23:57Speaker 5: So I know Arkansas's defense is not the best by
- 24:01Speaker 5: any means, but it was so good to see LSU
- 24:04Speaker 5: do things, Matt they haven't done all season long.
- 24:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, you said it great. I mean, it's
- 24:10Speaker 6: this is a game you we said it before. This
- 24:14Speaker 6: was to us.
- 24:15Speaker 2: This was a must win game for LSU.
- 24:17Speaker 6: I had not and it wasn't pretty, but it was
- 24:19Speaker 6: a must win game for a lot of different reasons,
- 24:21Speaker 6: for maintaining recruits, for maintaining a little energy with this team.
- 24:26Speaker 5: Because it would have been the first time you lost
- 24:28Speaker 5: four games in a row since you know what year nineties,
- 24:32Speaker 5: nineteen ninety nine. It had been the first time you
- 24:34Speaker 5: lost four games in a row.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Since nineteen ninety nine. But I'm glad that didn't happen. Yeah, Taylor,
- 24:39Speaker 2: how old were you in nineteen ninety nine? I was
- 24:41Speaker 2: three years old. Okay.
- 24:43Speaker 5: It had been the first time since Taytay was three,
- 24:45Speaker 5: probably just going from diapers to pull ups. Maybe some
- 24:49Speaker 5: underwear situation, you know, I don't.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Know, yeah when I was probably a late bloomer, so
- 24:54Speaker 1: who knows.
- 24:56Speaker 6: Certainly not underwear at night. Yeah, definitely done. You know,
- 25:00Speaker 6: so it's a long time off the day. Yeah, Well,
- 25:03Speaker 6: I'm really glad that didn't happen. But we but we
- 25:06Speaker 6: thought this was an important game for a lot of
- 25:07Speaker 6: different reasons, because you want to you want the opportunity
- 25:10Speaker 6: to be able to take your time in the whole
- 25:11Speaker 6: coaching search. And I'm not saying losing would have sped
- 25:13Speaker 6: up the timeline, but I'm saying that conversation could have
- 25:16Speaker 6: been had because if things started to spiral, which we
- 25:19Speaker 6: don't even have to discuss too much, but if things
- 25:20Speaker 6: started a spiral, maybe that conversation had said, all right,
- 25:23Speaker 6: do we need to solidify this a little bit sooner
- 25:26Speaker 6: than we thought we could waiting to look, we thought
- 25:29Speaker 6: we could take our time, blah blah blah, but we
- 25:31Speaker 6: can we avoid that conversation. And you saw the energy
- 25:35Speaker 6: from the team afterwards, too, Like you saw what it
- 25:38Speaker 6: meant to them.
- 25:38Speaker 2: You saw what it meant to that team.
- 25:40Speaker 6: You know, you could clearly see like the message that
- 25:42Speaker 6: Frank had given them all week was like, Hey, we're
- 25:44Speaker 6: going to win this game, and we're going to as
- 25:47Speaker 6: a team. We're going to celebrate with our fans too.
- 25:49Speaker 6: And they you could tell that they wanted to do
- 25:51Speaker 6: that the postgame, celebrate with the fans, because like you said,
- 25:55Speaker 6: I wasn't in the stadium this weekend, but you said
- 25:57Speaker 6: the student section was there.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they say the whole thing.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yeah, there were certainly more people in the stadium than
- 26:04Speaker 5: I thought there was going to be right, it was
- 26:06Speaker 5: by no means was it a sold out crowd, but
- 26:09Speaker 5: you know a little bit before kickoff on my oh boy, Yeah, no,
- 26:13Speaker 5: it just turns out that, you know, classic LSU football.
- 26:17Speaker 5: The traffic situation was just really poor and the fact
- 26:21Speaker 5: that they still don't have that figured out remotely blows
- 26:24Speaker 5: my mind because it was just people trying to get
- 26:26Speaker 5: into the stadium and actually filled up way way better
- 26:29Speaker 5: than I thought it was going to And so yeah,
- 26:31Speaker 5: they were celebrating victory. Again, you lost three games in
- 26:36Speaker 5: a row, you get down fourteen to nothing in this game.
- 26:40Speaker 2: There's a lot of people that picked Arkansas to win
- 26:42Speaker 2: the game.
- 26:42Speaker 5: They didn't think you would show fight. They didn't think
- 26:44Speaker 5: you'd find a way to win the game. And so
- 26:47Speaker 5: obviously it's not gonna be one that we talk about
- 26:50Speaker 5: for years to come, but it solidified like right now,
- 26:55Speaker 5: getting a win kind of allowing you to take a
- 26:59Speaker 5: step back, look at what you have coming down the road.
- 27:02Speaker 5: You got Western Kentucky, which obviously you're supposed to win
- 27:05Speaker 5: that game, and then you got an Oklahoma game where
- 27:08Speaker 5: if you go and win that on the road, then
- 27:10Speaker 5: that's something you can take. You can take something from
- 27:12Speaker 5: this season and a disappointing season and a season that
- 27:15Speaker 5: didn't go the way that anybody playing.
- 27:16Speaker 2: You can at least take something from it.
- 27:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean this this is hopefully gets you a
- 27:22Speaker 6: little momentum. You got a Western Kentucky team, then you
- 27:26Speaker 6: get an opportunity to play really obviously really good.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Sooner football team. So there's an opportunity ahead for you.
- 27:33Speaker 6: Great start for Michael Van Buren's you know, career here,
- 27:38Speaker 6: I guess. I mean he had to start last year
- 27:40Speaker 6: Missippi State, but being able to go out his first
- 27:42Speaker 6: start and get a victory and a complete team victory,
- 27:45Speaker 6: it's not I don't think he he uh shocked the
- 27:49Speaker 6: world about how like amazing he played or anything. But
- 27:51Speaker 6: we'll kind of get into his performance, show some plays
- 27:53Speaker 6: from plays from that, and you know, I just you know,
- 27:56Speaker 6: there's we've talked about the bones of this and the
- 27:59Speaker 6: foundation of this offense isn't really set up right now
- 28:02Speaker 6: for quarterback to be ultra successful and to take over
- 28:05Speaker 6: a game now.
- 28:06Speaker 2: And we'll show a little bit of that.
- 28:08Speaker 6: So there's a lot of there's a lot of poor
- 28:10Speaker 6: plays that he made that you know, it's really not
- 28:13Speaker 6: on him. There's not a lot of plays to be
- 28:15Speaker 6: made out there. But he showed some fight, showed some
- 28:19Speaker 6: grit and able to use his legs a little bit,
- 28:22Speaker 6: things that we've been hoping to see all season.
- 28:24Speaker 2: And that's kind of one of the reasons why.
- 28:26Speaker 6: You know, of course he's not this like triple lots
- 28:28Speaker 6: and you know, zone read type dual threat quarterback, but
- 28:32Speaker 6: he gives you enough to escape the pocket, step up
- 28:35Speaker 6: in a pocket, and and and move around and move
- 28:37Speaker 6: the sticks like that and get some positive yards out
- 28:40Speaker 6: of what would be a negative play.
- 28:43Speaker 2: And I gotta I gotta ask you.
- 28:44Speaker 5: Is there anybody that hates the Arkansas Razorbacks more than
- 28:47Speaker 5: Harold Perkins. It's they hurt him somewhere along somewhere along
- 28:51Speaker 5: the way, like somebody in an Arkansas shirt when he
- 28:55Speaker 5: was young hurt him.
- 28:56Speaker 2: He looked like Harold Perkins, and he is.
- 28:59Speaker 5: He is certainly held that for his entire adult life.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Ye held something just clicks in. I thought Taylor Green
- 29:07Speaker 5: was supposed to be pretty good. He had been Yea,
- 29:10Speaker 5: and Gordy said this on the broadcast. I think like
- 29:13Speaker 5: Harold Perkins kind of got in his head pretty early too.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Didn't look very good.
- 29:18Speaker 5: And I've watched him in multiple games on film this
- 29:20Speaker 5: year and that they're making dynamic plays now.
- 29:23Speaker 2: They weren't.
- 29:23Speaker 6: He's not a consistent like no quarterback. But he made
- 29:28Speaker 6: off schedule plays all season, and they made big plays
- 29:30Speaker 6: all season. They just couldn't get the guys open like
- 29:33Speaker 6: I've seen them throughout the season. Yeah, the l at
- 29:36Speaker 6: the backfield, they played fantastic h and everybody and Harold
- 29:39Speaker 6: Perkins played.
- 29:40Speaker 2: He made plays like we've.
- 29:42Speaker 6: We've always we've wanted him to do every single week, weekend,
- 29:46Speaker 6: week out.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Just hasn't happened for whatever reason. And he made those plays.
- 29:49Speaker 6: A defense played hard man and made Taylor Green look like,
- 29:53Speaker 6: you know, a pretty subpar sec quarterback, which is nobody's
- 29:58Speaker 6: been able to do that to this point the season,
- 30:00Speaker 6: even though they were two and seven.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a couple of players and then we got
- 30:04Speaker 5: to take a break. There's a couple of players in
- 30:06Speaker 5: the defensive backfield that you know they might not get
- 30:10Speaker 5: remembered ten years from now.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Maybe they do. I hope they do. That you turn
- 30:15Speaker 2: on the tape.
- 30:16Speaker 5: I'm not saying it's always perfect, but if you want
- 30:18Speaker 5: to see like what it's supposed to look like as
- 30:21Speaker 5: far as your effort, your attention to detail and doing
- 30:25Speaker 5: the little things right, watch number zero to Marcus Cooley
- 30:30Speaker 5: and watch number thirteen aj hawseon those two players right there,
- 30:34Speaker 5: and they've only been here for months, right, they hadn't
- 30:38Speaker 5: been here very long, but it looks like that they've
- 30:42Speaker 5: been here like for four years. It looks like they
- 30:44Speaker 5: both like grew up in Louisiana always dreamed of play
- 30:47Speaker 5: for LSU and that's not the case, but man, it
- 30:49Speaker 5: looks like it when you turn on the tape. Zero
- 30:52Speaker 5: and thirteen are always involved some way, somehow and with
- 30:56Speaker 5: maximum effort.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 30:58Speaker 6: I texted you during the game after the first drive
- 31:01Speaker 6: because the first drive they were they were moving through
- 31:05Speaker 6: the LSU defense at a pretty high clip. They fumbled,
- 31:08Speaker 6: thank god.
- 31:09Speaker 5: I was like, oh boy, yeah, I mean you know,
- 31:11Speaker 5: we did get three turnovers and and and I was like, yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 5: Halsee might have thirty five tackles this game. Like it's
- 31:19Speaker 5: that type of game for him, because he was making
- 31:20Speaker 5: every tackle and I mean it was seven, eight nine
- 31:23Speaker 5: yards down the field unforesshionably, that's not what you want
- 31:26Speaker 5: and it is.
- 31:26Speaker 6: Not what you want. And that wasn't like a good
- 31:28Speaker 6: comment I was making to you, like this is gonna
- 31:30Speaker 6: this is a safety game for LSU, and not in
- 31:32Speaker 6: a good way.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Now it worked itself out after that drive.
- 31:36Speaker 6: But my god, Paul season, I've loved watching that guy
- 31:39Speaker 6: every single game. That guy brings it. He gets it.
- 31:42Speaker 6: He's strong. Yeah, he's the hammer and he makes his
- 31:47Speaker 6: presence felt. And when he hits it, you feel it.
- 31:49Speaker 5: Oh yeah, like there's no pa, he's like out of position.
- 31:52Speaker 5: He's still he still got like a little six inch punch. Yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 5: is it a six inch one? You always change it
- 31:58Speaker 5: on me? You go three inches sometimes.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I don't know. You get it though, I get it. Brucellism.
- 32:03Speaker 2: He does. Man, he is.
- 32:04Speaker 5: He's been a lot of fun to watch. Yeah, and
- 32:07Speaker 5: again the effort, the effort. Yeah, we had those two
- 32:10Speaker 5: guys played for man it is I'm not the only ones.
- 32:13Speaker 5: But like I said, like they might not get talked
- 32:15Speaker 5: about like the others, they are there fun to watch
- 32:18Speaker 5: on tape because they do it the right way. All right,
- 32:20Speaker 5: we got to take a break more lsu Arkansas breakdown
- 32:24Speaker 5: when we come back here on OTV.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Off the bench, all right.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Go to Russell Pools dot com. That is the website
- 32:31Speaker 5: for Russell Pool a company. When you go to the website,
- 32:34Speaker 5: always remember you can check out a gallery of work
- 32:36Speaker 5: right there on the home page, financing options right there
- 32:39Speaker 5: on the home page, a full list of services. And
- 32:42Speaker 5: remember it is truly from start to finish, in between
- 32:45Speaker 5: and after with Russell Pool Company, they will be the
- 32:48Speaker 5: only company that you need.
- 32:50Speaker 2: They will be there the entire way.

- 34:01Speaker 2: because then, like Roy Low, it's so time it is
- 34:04Speaker 2: final kick Shepherd. All right, welcome back in OTV.
- 34:09Speaker 5: I want to remind you bet our friends over at
- 34:11Speaker 5: Gulf Coast Office Products g c op net dot com
- 34:15Speaker 5: is the website. Remember this is throughout the state of Louisiana.
- 34:19Speaker 5: We are talking to you, certainly here in South Louisiana.
- 34:23Speaker 5: And that's why LSU, that's why the Pelicans and the
- 34:25Speaker 5: Saints and the raging Cajuns always go with Gulf Coast
- 34:28Speaker 5: office products.
- 34:30Speaker 2: It's not just about documents anymore.
- 34:31Speaker 5: It's about managing and hosting the information in your company
- 34:34Speaker 5: needs to grow and thrive in the years ahead. Again
- 34:36Speaker 5: in New Orleans, in Baton Rouge, in Mandeville, in Lafayette.
- 34:39Speaker 5: That contact information is on the website gcop net dot com.
- 34:45Speaker 5: All right, one more shout out I want to get
- 34:46Speaker 5: before you get to the tape there, because I mentioned
- 34:48Speaker 5: a couple of players on defense that maybe don't get
- 34:51Speaker 5: talked about a ton as much as the other guys,
- 34:54Speaker 5: but certainly flash on film with the total effort that
- 34:58Speaker 5: you want to see and kind of play the game
- 35:00Speaker 5: the right way. I'll give you one on offense, and
- 35:02Speaker 5: then's Xavion Thomas Man. I love watching Number zero play football,
- 35:07Speaker 5: being on special teams, being on offense, whether he has
- 35:10Speaker 5: the ball or he's blocking for one of his teammates
- 35:13Speaker 5: on the ninety seven receiver screens that they threw earlier
- 35:16Speaker 5: in the year. Like Number zero is giving you maximum
- 35:20Speaker 5: effort in this game. He has six catches eighty yards
- 35:24Speaker 5: and he takes shots sometimes man, but he knows it.
- 35:27Speaker 2: He doesn't care.
- 35:28Speaker 5: He catches the football, takes the hit and continues to
- 35:31Speaker 5: move forward. He is as tough as you'll see a
- 35:34Speaker 5: receiver out there, and uh, number zero not you know,
- 35:39Speaker 5: gonna get the love maybe that some other offensive players do,
- 35:41Speaker 5: but he certainly shows up every time you watch the tape.
- 35:45Speaker 6: Yeah he does. And I want to shout out like
- 35:48Speaker 6: a lot of the receivers too. They've you know, I
- 35:50Speaker 6: hadn't been probably the sexiest year for our receiving corps
- 35:54Speaker 6: as far as they're you know what they want to do.
- 35:56Speaker 6: They want to catch for a lot of yards, they
- 35:59Speaker 6: want to score a lot of touchdo. They want to
- 36:00Speaker 6: be dynamic and effective in the passing game.
- 36:03Speaker 2: That's what you want to do. But I want to
- 36:05Speaker 2: give them.
- 36:06Speaker 6: That whole gang, that whole room over there, like a
- 36:09Speaker 6: big shout out because in the running game, once they
- 36:13Speaker 6: were asked to do it and they picked their they
- 36:17Speaker 6: have picked it up and really have given everything in
- 36:19Speaker 6: that in the run blocking and a good running game
- 36:23Speaker 6: does not happen without wide receivers blocking on the second
- 36:26Speaker 6: or third level, right, And they were asked to do
- 36:29Speaker 6: something that they weren't really asked to be to be
- 36:32Speaker 6: done earlier in the year because they were running so
- 36:34Speaker 6: many RPOs and they were never really you know, at
- 36:36Speaker 6: least consistently blocking on running plays. But once they were
- 36:39Speaker 6: asked to do that a couple of games ago, they
- 36:42Speaker 6: have done a really good job. And we're still running
- 36:45Speaker 6: wide receiver screens now they're just running them the correct
- 36:48Speaker 6: way with a little bit better blocking lineman pulling out
- 36:52Speaker 6: and lead blocking out in front. And I thought they've
- 36:54Speaker 6: that for that receiving cord. They had a lot of
- 36:56Speaker 6: high expectations for a lot of yards this year, of course,
- 36:58Speaker 6: because you know, we've thrown for a bazillion yards with
- 37:01Speaker 6: us far as our quarterback in the past. I'm sure
- 37:03Speaker 6: they had all these expectations of grandeur and lots of
- 37:06Speaker 6: yards and lots of touchdowns and everything. They're still playing
- 37:10Speaker 6: their tails off, and so just a big tip of
- 37:12Speaker 6: the cap. I think that that whole wide receiver room
- 37:16Speaker 6: has been one of the highlights of this season for
- 37:18Speaker 6: the team, and just with the way they go out
- 37:21Speaker 6: and played and handle their business when it doesn't look
- 37:23Speaker 6: when it hadn't looked like how they thought it was
- 37:26Speaker 6: before the season.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point because they very easily could
- 37:29Speaker 5: be frustrated and be like wait a minute, we didn't
- 37:30Speaker 5: sign up for this. We signed up for a quarterback
- 37:32Speaker 5: that they're for four thousand yards.
- 37:34Speaker 6: They're playing like a team group right now. They're all
- 37:38Speaker 6: playing for the greater good, and it shows up and
- 37:41Speaker 6: it's it looks good for all of them on film,
- 37:43Speaker 6: even though they're not catching a ton of passes.
- 37:46Speaker 2: All right, which play are you going to show here?
- 37:49Speaker 6: We might just go through a couple I don't you know,
- 37:51Speaker 6: maybe not give like a super detailed breakdown, but you know,
- 37:55Speaker 6: I tend to like highlight a lot of negative things.
- 37:58Speaker 2: And then when I.
- 37:58Speaker 6: Watch film negative See that's what you do in film.
- 38:01Speaker 6: It's like, even when you're playing, you kind of skip
- 38:04Speaker 6: over the good side. Oh a good read, good read.
- 38:06Speaker 6: So I want to show you a couple of things.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Like I was talking about Van Buren and people are
- 38:09Speaker 6: asking me, how do he play? How do you do well?
- 38:11Speaker 6: It wasn't fantastic. It wasn't like he played this dynamic game.
- 38:14Speaker 6: He had some really good plays, hit a couple of
- 38:16Speaker 6: deep balls. There's a few things. Accuracy wise, I think
- 38:19Speaker 6: he can work some on some mechanics. Of course, his
- 38:21Speaker 6: accuracy was a little a little shaky, especially early on
- 38:24Speaker 6: I think his footwork needs a lot of work. His
- 38:28Speaker 6: footwork doesn't time up with a route concept. Ayah, it's
- 38:31Speaker 6: his first game, I get it.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Whatever, But there are some things that they're trying to
- 38:36Speaker 5: do to help him that actually aren't helping him conceptually.
- 38:41Speaker 5: And every coach does this right, and it's okay to
- 38:44Speaker 5: have these in there, but I want to show you
- 38:46Speaker 5: like they're trying to help them in protection. But sometimes
- 38:49Speaker 5: when you try to help him protection, you actually hurt
- 38:52Speaker 5: the route concept, which a lot doesn't allow people to
- 38:55Speaker 5: get open, which and then does not help protection. Right,
- 38:58Speaker 5: So what we're gonna do, We're gonna take a look
- 39:00Speaker 5: ahead and throw it up. Taylor, Oh you got to
- 39:01Speaker 5: throw it up. He headed up, Just go all right.
- 39:04Speaker 6: So what we're gonna do, You're gonna see here eleven
- 39:07Speaker 6: personnel were starting three boy one motion over to a
- 39:10Speaker 6: two bout two situation, and what we're gonna see here
- 39:12Speaker 6: is a thump.
- 39:14Speaker 2: And a chip. So a thump by the tight end,
- 39:16Speaker 2: saying it's the same concept.
- 39:18Speaker 6: They're gonna hit the defensive end on their way out
- 39:20Speaker 6: to the route concept the back that's a chip. He's
- 39:23Speaker 6: gonna thump his way out to the route concept, Well,
- 39:26Speaker 6: what does that do?
- 39:26Speaker 2: You want these thumps and these.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Chips to be really quick and then you get out
- 39:29Speaker 6: to your route concept because they're gonna be rushing four
- 39:32Speaker 6: you at when they're blocking. You only have three receivers
- 39:35Speaker 6: to go against seven defenders. So what happens is sometimes
- 39:40Speaker 6: they get a little too caught up into their chips
- 39:44Speaker 6: and the thumps and then you just can't get anybody open.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 6: Right, So at this point, you have a Z receiver
- 39:51Speaker 6: down here that falls, you have a X receiver that
- 39:55Speaker 6: gets pushed out of bounds. You got three people covering
- 39:58Speaker 6: the slot receiver. You should have checkdowns, have you have?
- 40:01Speaker 5: You should have some options open underneath at this point
- 40:04Speaker 5: because no one's here.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:06Speaker 5: But because we're thumping and chipping too much, it doesn't
- 40:08Speaker 5: create stress on these curl flight defenders. Doesn't create stress
- 40:11Speaker 5: on the zones. And this should be a one, two three.
- 40:14Speaker 5: He's not opened too much checkdown to a running back.
- 40:16Speaker 5: So sometimes when you're trying to help him protection, which
- 40:18Speaker 5: is the right thing to do because we've had protection issues.
- 40:21Speaker 5: But sometimes when you try to help, you actually hurt.
- 40:24Speaker 5: Because if you're Tom Brady, who you throwing this ball
- 40:27Speaker 5: to right. Now you're not doing really much. But here's
- 40:30Speaker 5: the positive thing about the way Van Buren is played.
- 40:33Speaker 5: He can make a positive play out of something like that.
- 40:35Speaker 5: He gets six yards on a play that normally either
- 40:38Speaker 5: ends in sack or a throwaway.
- 40:39Speaker 2: So this should be I just on display.
- 40:42Speaker 5: I just wanted to and this was kind of a
- 40:44Speaker 5: theme for me throughout the entire game.
- 40:47Speaker 6: Here's another one. We're gonna let this play out. Good concept,
- 40:52Speaker 6: good result, but check this out. So if he didn't
- 40:57Speaker 6: have it, so we have a what we call a
- 40:59Speaker 6: stick route up here and just a three step, well
- 41:02Speaker 6: three step for the quarterback, but just a stick route.
- 41:05Speaker 2: This year they love a stick route. Uh, so good.
- 41:08Speaker 5: We got a complete, full filled, pure progression rates. You're
- 41:12Speaker 5: going to work left outside to end. So we have
- 41:15Speaker 5: a a snag route. Would I call this a basic
- 41:17Speaker 5: end down here, but if that outright, if they would
- 41:20Speaker 5: have pressed up top and he had to go through
- 41:22Speaker 5: this whole progression right, I want this back not to
- 41:26Speaker 5: be chipping on this play because his responsibilities to run
- 41:29Speaker 5: a wide route right here or a flat route and
- 41:32Speaker 5: create stress on this curl flat defender. So this is
- 41:35Speaker 5: just another example to me of trying to protect the quarterback,
- 41:39Speaker 5: but you're actually making the protection a little bit worse.
- 41:41Speaker 5: And now this linebacker, yeah, because he can get the
- 41:44Speaker 5: cover of two guys.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah, really doing a whole lot.
- 41:46Speaker 6: But like, look, and this is one of the things
- 41:48Speaker 6: I'm talking about here, with a little bit of accuracy issues.
- 41:50Speaker 6: Got to see the receiver make that catch. Vamburen's foot
- 41:53Speaker 6: works a little bit sloppy. He goes one two, three four.
- 41:57Speaker 6: It should just be a one two, plant the stick
- 41:59Speaker 6: that foot in the I.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Go, yeah, you can give them a better ball, but
- 42:02Speaker 2: also catch the ball, all right?
- 42:05Speaker 6: And then I believe this one is the touchdown run.
- 42:08Speaker 6: Let's send on a good note. What do you say
- 42:10Speaker 6: sounds good?
- 42:11Speaker 2: Coach?
- 42:13Speaker 5: Oh yeah, so good to see him finished through two
- 42:16Speaker 5: broken tackles and yep.
- 42:18Speaker 2: So I want I want you to watch the line.
- 42:19Speaker 5: What else telling you a little bit about earlier you
- 42:21Speaker 5: saw them kind of using their head and their shoulders
- 42:23Speaker 5: as some weapons. Watch left left guard right here, Watch
- 42:30Speaker 5: some nice nice finish right there. It's fantastic. Let's go
- 42:34Speaker 5: to the end zone. It's gonna see Kayden finish that
- 42:37Speaker 5: as well. Yep, Bower, you know blocking in the end.
- 42:41Speaker 5: This double team. Fantastic double team. Right here, left guard,
- 42:44Speaker 5: left tackle working up, right guard does a nice job.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Right guard really takes three right.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Yeah, watch the right guard in this double team right here,
- 42:54Speaker 5: they're working their way up.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Five pushes them.
- 42:58Speaker 5: Yeah, it's about one of the combination blocks I've seen
- 43:01Speaker 5: from LSU's offensive line this entire year. And like I said,
- 43:05Speaker 5: good to see him finish that in the end zone.
- 43:07Speaker 5: And we'll come back. There's a couple of points on
- 43:10Speaker 5: that play. I know we're long for a break. Let's
- 43:11Speaker 5: take that break now. We'll continue LSU Arkansas when we
- 43:14Speaker 5: come back. Here on OTB off the bench, all right,

- 44:32Speaker 3: the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 44:38Speaker 5: All right, welcome back here in o t B here
- 44:41Speaker 5: live from the Raising Kines studio. We're gonna show more
- 44:43Speaker 5: Phil in the second hour of the show. I will
- 44:46Speaker 5: say one thing. The offensive staff did a nice job
- 44:49Speaker 5: of doing so. Arkansas put one of their you know,
- 44:53Speaker 5: Mike linebackers, one of the better ones, actually, sorry, in
- 44:57Speaker 5: the conference. They put them on the edge all game
- 44:59Speaker 5: long and understood why they did it. They were trying
- 45:01Speaker 5: to get a speed rush and you know, struggling tackles
- 45:04Speaker 5: and been successful. Yeah, it's been this year with other
- 45:07Speaker 5: teams and so they did it all game long, and
- 45:08Speaker 5: LSU once they kind of figured out that's where he
- 45:10Speaker 5: was going to live, they had a lot of their
- 45:13Speaker 5: run checks to him. And it's the reason why you
- 45:15Speaker 5: don't see Harold Perkins Junior play the edge, and because
- 45:18Speaker 5: that's what teams would do to him as well, Like
- 45:20Speaker 5: they're gonna check run, they want their tackle tight end
- 45:23Speaker 5: combo on a guy that's not used to playing on
- 45:25Speaker 5: the line of scrimmage, ends a little bit undersize to
- 45:27Speaker 5: play on the edge.
- 45:28Speaker 2: And it was a nice job by l. S U
- 45:30Speaker 2: to see that and kind of make that adjustment.
- 45:32Speaker 6: Yeah, that's fantastic. I didn't notice that watching the game.
- 45:36Speaker 6: The TV copy, you know, I'm not great with the names.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Was about say, well, I mean he was at SEC
- 45:42Speaker 5: media day, so he's pretty big name.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Was that there?
- 45:47Speaker 5: You were there this year? You were they were last day?
- 45:51Speaker 5: Weren't they probably is Arkansas. I don't.
- 45:57Speaker 2: You think Golden Boot ours back in that closet for
- 46:03Speaker 2: a whole year. Maybe have you.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Ever seen more LSU players go for that boot.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Nope, they were excited about it. They're excited about it,
- 46:10Speaker 2: and I get it. Good for them. They needed a dub,
- 46:14Speaker 2: They needed a dub, and they got a dub. All right.
- 46:18Speaker 5: So coming up in hour number two, we are going
- 46:20Speaker 5: to show a little bit more film, continue to break
- 46:23Speaker 5: it down, go around the college football landscape, kind of
- 46:26Speaker 5: look at what happened on Sunday as well in the
- 46:28Speaker 5: National Football League.
