- 0:00Exodus chapter 34. Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we're
- 0:09yours. We belong to you.
- 0:14We only desire you. Lord, let us grab the hem of
- 0:21your garment and receive our healing today.
- 0:26Heal our broken bodies and our minds over release us from the
- 0:32pressures of this life. Let us rest and abide in you.
- 0:41Let us not be preoccupied with the troubles that this world
- 0:45brings, Lord. Let us be resolute upon your
- 0:49face and upon your ways, for we only want you.
- 0:56Lord, You're worthy to be praised.
- 1:01You're worthy of all adoration and affection.
- 1:05Consume us with your presence, Jesus our Lord and our King and
- 1:11our God. Jesus, you are God, We thank you
- 1:19for choosing us and rescuing us and giving us enough mental
- 1:27fortitude and wherewithal and enough strength to choose you.
- 1:32And Lord, we surrender today unto you.
- 1:36Let us not be consumed by the world and the culture.
- 1:44Lead us not into temptation, God, deliver us from the evil. 1
- 1:49Thank you for daily bread, God. It's your will and it's your
- 1:52Kingdom that we press towards. May your name be kept holy
- 1:56forever and ever. You are worthy to be praised.
- 1:59God Almighty, we love you. Keep Jesus.
- 2:02It's in your holy and precious and powerful name that I pray.
- 2:06Amen. Well, let's start in verse one.
- 2:14And the Lord said unto Moses, Cut you 2 tables of stone like
- 2:19the first, and I will write upon these tables the words that were
- 2:24in the first tables which you broke.
- 2:26So here Moses comes down from 40 days and 40 nights, and he had
- 2:31the tables of stone that God had written the 10 commandments
- 2:36upon. And he comes down, He sees them
- 2:39in a drunken stupor, and he breaks them at the foot of the
- 2:43mountain. Then he deals with the people of
- 2:46Israel, and he goes, and he speaks with God again upon the
- 2:51Mount Sinai. Two, and be ready in the
- 2:56morning, and come up in the morning unto Mount Sinai, and
- 3:00present yourself there to me in the top of the mount. 3 And no
- 3:04man shall come up with you. Neither let any man be seen
- 3:08throughout all the mount, neither let the flocks nor herds
- 3:11feed before the mount. So he's saying it is holy.
- 3:16Do not let anybody even come near this holy mountain that I'm
- 3:19about to descend upon. For.
- 3:23And he cut 2 tables of stone like the first.
- 3:26And Moses rose up early in the morning and went up to Mount
- 3:30Sinai as the Lord had commanded him, and he took in his hand the
- 3:362 tables of stone. 5 And the Lord descended in the cloud, and
- 3:41stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
- 3:45So we get to see this new vision, that Moses is there on
- 3:48Mount Sinai, and the people are told not to even come close to
- 3:53the base of the mountain. 6 And the Lord passed by before him
- 3:59and proclaimed the Lord, the Lord God, merciful, gracious,
- 4:06long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth.
- 4:09Write it down, friends. Put it on the whiteboard, put it
- 4:15on the refrigerator, put it before you, Put it on the dash
- 4:20of your car. Put it everywhere that you go.
- 4:24Put it on the mirror in the bathroom.
- 4:26Put it everywhere, the Lord, the Lord God.
- 4:31Who is he? He is merciful.
- 4:34Who is the Lord God? He is gracious.
- 4:37Who is the Lord God? He is long-suffering.
- 4:40Who is the Lord God? He is abundant in goodness, He
- 4:44is truth. 7HE keeps mercy for your for thousands.
- 4:51He forgives iniquity and transgression and sin, and that
- 4:55will by no means clear the guilty visiting the iniquity of
- 5:00the fathers upon the children and upon the children's children
- 5:04upon the 3rd and the 4th generation.
- 5:07So here you need to know, without the blood of the Lord
- 5:11Jesus Christ, we are all damned. There is no one good, no not
- 5:16one. It is only by being covered in
- 5:20the blood of Jesus Christ that we can be holy and in right
- 5:24standing with God. That is the only way that we
- 5:27will ever get there. It's not enough to be washed in
- 5:31water. We must be washed in the blood,
- 5:33Friends. That is what can take away our
- 5:37sins forever. 8 And Moses made haste and bowed his head toward
- 5:45the earth, and he worshipped. That is the appropriate
- 5:48response. When the glory of the Lord God
- 5:51is manifest in our presence, when we cannot even minister, we
- 5:55cannot even speak. It is holy in reverence unto God
- 5:59Almighty. 9 And he said, If now I have found grace in your
- 6:04sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray you go among us, for it is
- 6:11a stiff necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin,
- 6:16and take us from for your inheritance.
- 6:20Moses here, he's saying, I know that we're not worthy to be
- 6:24called by your name and to be your people, but it is only by
- 6:28you swearing by your own self that we can make it. 10 And he
- 6:35said, Behold, I will make a covenant before all your people.
- 6:41I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth
- 6:46nor in any nation, and all the people among which you are shall
- 6:53see the work of the Lord. For it is a terrible thing that
- 6:57I will do with you. Do you know this terrible thing
- 7:02to fall into the hands of God? This is what he was referencing
- 7:06when he said, I won't go with you, I'll send the Angel,
- 7:08because if I go with you, you might not make it.
- 7:12That is what you need to understand friends.
- 7:18God Almighty is the same yesterday, today and forever and
- 7:24we desperately need the covering of our Lord Jesus Christ so that
- 7:29we can come in to the veil that was ripped from top to bottom.
- 7:33Apart from this covering, there is no salvation. 11 Observe you
- 7:45that which I command you this day.
- 7:48Behold, I drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the
- 7:53Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebizzite.
- 7:57Real people, friends, real armies, a real opposition.
- 8:05It's no different today. 12 Take heed to yourself, lest you make
- 8:11a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest
- 8:14it be a snare in the midst of you.
- 8:17That's why God took them and put them in Egypt, because he saw
- 8:21that the Holy Family that he wanted and desired to make into
- 8:26it a nation unto himself, a peculiar people unto himself.
- 8:31They started to get diluted in the Canaanite.
- 8:36And here he's telling Moses and the 2 million that he's rescued
- 8:40out of Egypt do not intermingle in with the Canaanites.
- 8:47There'll be a snare for you. 13 But you shall destroy their
- 8:53altars, break their images, cut down their Groves.
- 8:58This is what God is after. He has let the sin of the
- 9:02Canaanites become ripe and it is rotten, and it is time for the
- 9:08Hebrews to go in and to purify the land that God has promised
- 9:12them. This is why they're being
- 9:16judged, because of their altars, because of their images, and
- 9:20because of their Groves. That is why God is allowing the
- 9:25Israelites to go in and to completely upend their way of
- 9:29life. 14 For you shall worship no other God.
- 9:34For the Lord whose name is jealous is a jealous God.
- 9:38His name is jealous, and he's not jealous of us.
- 9:42He is jealous for us. Never forget that. 15 lest you
- 9:49make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and
- 9:53they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto
- 9:59their gods, and one call you, and you eat of his sacrifice.
- 10:04So we know that we are called to be set apart and to be holy and
- 10:08not to intermingle in with all the disgusting practices of the
- 10:13Pagan nations all around us. Still is relevant to day 16.
- 10:22And you take of their daughters to your sons, and their
- 10:27daughters go whoring after their gods, and make your sons go
- 10:32whoring after their gods. This was the fallacy of Solomon,
- 10:38a man who had peace on every border.
- 10:41But he had the same problem that old Sampson had, that the ladies
- 10:50were the downfall. And woe to the man who chooses
- 10:55the carnal, lustful things over the holy things of God. 17 You
- 11:05shall make thee no molten gods. That was the sin of the Hebrews
- 11:11when Moses came down the first time.
- 11:13And now here he is upon Mount Sinai again, and God's giving
- 11:17him all of these new visions to take back down to the people. 18
- 11:23The feast of unleavened bread shall you keep seven days?
- 11:26Shall you eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you in the time
- 11:30of the month Abib? For in the month Abib you came
- 11:34out of Egypt. 19 All that opens the matrix is mine, and every
- 11:39first among the cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. 20
- 11:44But the first of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, and if
- 11:48you redeem him not, then you shall break his neck.
- 11:52All the first born of your sons shall you redeem, and none shall
- 11:57appear before me empty. So God is worthy of our first,
- 12:01He's worthy of our best. Give him the best part of the
- 12:05day. Give him the first part of your
- 12:08increase, and give him your first born.
- 12:11Redeem him with money, friends. That is what is referenced here.
- 12:16All those that who are open the womb, the first born male
- 12:21belongs to God. 21 Six days shall you work, but on the 7th
- 12:28day you shall rest in earring time, and in harvest you shall
- 12:33rest. So he's saying just because it's
- 12:35harvest time does not give you the excuse to work seven days a
- 12:40week. 22 And you shall observe the feast of weeks, the first
- 12:49fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of end, gathering in the
- 12:53years in 23 Three times in the year shall all your men,
- 12:58children, appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. 24 And I
- 13:03will cast out the nations before you enlarge your borders.
- 13:07Neither shall any man desire your land when you shall go up
- 13:11to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.
- 13:16So all of the promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are
- 13:21still relevant to the people of Israel today.
- 13:25Of all the borders. Friends, never forget that.
- 13:28It's not that God has just forgotten all the promises.
- 13:31He said forever, and it meant forever. 25 And you shall not
- 13:41offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven, neither shall the
- 13:46sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left unto the
- 13:50morning. So you need to know that this
- 13:52leaven is sin, and the sin has no intermingling with the blood
- 13:59of the Lamb. The blood of the Lamb covers
- 14:02over all the sin. It is not to try for us to try
- 14:06to offer a strange fire unto God, with worshiping Him and
- 14:11sinning at the same time. 26 The first of the first fruits of the
- 14:17land you shall bring unto the House of the Lord your God.
- 14:21You shall not see the kid in his mother's milk.
- 14:24So here he's saying that he deserves the first.
- 14:27He deserves your best. And do not be steeped in
- 14:30idolatry and witchcraft. 27 And the Lord said to Moses, write
- 14:36you these words. For after the tenor of these
- 14:39words, I have made a covenant with you and with Israel. 28 And
- 14:44he was there with the Lord 40 days and 40 nights, and he did
- 14:49neither eat bread nor drink water.
- 14:52And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the 10
- 14:55commandments. So you can see here that Moses
- 14:58supernaturally was fueled and filled by God, and he took no
- 15:03water or food or no sustenance, and God was there, and God was
- 15:09testing the inhabitants of Israel, with Moses being gone
- 15:13another 40 days. 29 And it came to pass when Moses came down
- 15:21from Mount Sinai with the 2 tables of testimony in Moses's
- 15:26hand when he came down from the mount, that Moses's did not know
- 15:31that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
- 15:36So Moses was unaware that all of the communing with God has
- 15:42resulted in his face shining, because he had been in the
- 15:46presence of the glory of the manifestation of God. 30 And
- 15:53when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the
- 15:57skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
- 16:02So as Moses walked back into the camp, his face shining like the
- 16:07moon, people were afraid of him. 31 And Moses called them, and
- 16:14Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him,
- 16:18and Moses talked with them. So here Moses is talking with
- 16:22them, and I am sure that they are affrighted by this
- 16:26countenance of Moses. 32 And afterward all the children of
- 16:33Israel came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the
- 16:37Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. 33 And till Moses
- 16:42had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
- 16:46So Moses, we learned later, put this veil on his face, not
- 16:50because they were afraid of him, but because Moses did not want
- 16:54to them to see this fading glory.
- 16:58He wanted to keep them in a perpetual state of reverence. 34
- 17:04But when Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he
- 17:08took the veil off until he came out, and he came out and spoke
- 17:13to the children of Israel. That which he was commanded will
- 17:17end on. 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses,
- 17:22that the skin of Moses's face shone, And Moses put the veil
- 17:27upon his face again until he went in to speak with him.
- 17:32So that is what you need to know is Moses did not want them to
- 17:35see that the glory was passing and fading.
- 17:38But we have a glory that is imperishable and never fades
- 17:41away in our Lord Jesus Christ. And it's available to you today,
- 17:46friends, Just take it. Consecrate yourself, sanctify
- 17:51yourself, atone for all your sins by the blood of the Lamb,
- 17:56and receive the glory of God. I pray that you've been blessed
- 18:00by this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 18:02I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 18:05of you. I love you.
- 18:06I'll see you back here tomorrow. God bless you.
