- 0:10Welcome to episode 24 of Brothers Grappas, the show that
- 0:18British transport system truly hates because every January it
- 0:25tries to find new ways to screw me over but it never works
- 0:32because I always get refunds. That all said, that does tie it
- 0:39into this show which I will get into in a little moment.
- 0:48So this episode we are taking a trip over the Pennines to good
- 0:55old Huddersfield for what saw Tidal Wrestling cutting on two
- 1:02shows, the first being Waves of Destiny and was followed up with
- 1:10a very late afternoon show entitled This One's For You 2
- 1:19Electric Boogaloo. OK, maybe not Electric Boogaloo,
- 1:24but it was This One's for You too, which was a all women's
- 1:30card and was a really fun day that we spent in Huddersfield at
- 1:40the parish. So before we get into the graphs
- 1:48that happened on last Sunday, let's talk about travel, shall
- 1:54we? Because January seems to be my
- 1:58unluckiest month to ever travel to wrestling shows.
- 2:06Because I believe I attended AN show a couple years ago and on
- 2:15that occasion there were problems heading up to the North
- 2:22East. And then last year had me having
- 2:27to fork out £92.90 coming back from Bridge Pro in Stourbridge
- 2:36because we had one of the whatever storm it was and
- 2:43involved about four or five trains.
- 2:49So of course coming into this year helping a clean slate and
- 2:54transport being kind spoilers, it wasn't there was a fire just
- 3:07prior to the tunnel in just past Daily Bridge which links
- 3:12Lancashire to Yorkshire, a free mile hole which I would be a
- 3:22gynaecologist dream to have that big of a hole.
- 3:26That all said, I was meeting up with friends to take the train
- 3:33over that being with Mikey Craig and hairdresser Steve.
- 3:40Good evening lads if you're watching this because I know
- 3:44neither of all three of you will not be watching.
- 3:50So we ended up taking a taxi from Salford to Huddersfield.
- 4:02The driver refused to drop us off outside of the venue,
- 4:09claiming that there was impeded by boardings and everything's
- 4:18that we wasn't. He was just lazy.
- 4:23So once we kind of got all the travelling on a very misty and
- 4:28murky journey over the hills, we ended up getting into the
- 4:35parish. First time going to a title
- 4:40show, equally first time obviously going to the parish
- 4:47and I have to say I I did actually like the whole venue
- 4:53and set up there. It was made even better.
- 4:58I was wearing my Paramore shirt and they were playing some of
- 5:02their tunes, which wasn't a big thumbs up already.
- 5:08But then also having the interrupters on I was an added
- 5:12bonus. So whoever is the DJ at Parish,
- 5:19thumbs up, you're doing a great job.
- 5:21I love it. The venue itself is.
- 5:31It's a very enclosed venue. That said though, it's still a
- 5:41nice layout. It gives off Breadshed vibes but
- 5:47with a much higher roof. For a start.
- 5:52I chose to to stand for the two shows because I'd be bloody mad.
- 5:58But I was stood and chatting with Cara, which a lot of you in
- 6:04the Northwest and possibly elsewhere know because they are
- 6:10one of I think one of the helpers at Tidal and has you'll
- 6:18see them kind of like bouncing around the northwest scene.
- 6:23So I was joining in with the the offer or offering support during
- 6:29the collapse and chants. Some hit, some didn't, but
- 6:34that's that's kind of wrestling crowds.
- 6:38So we will get into the show because a lot of it I have
- 6:45forgot, so apologies there and we are pretty much winging this
- 6:53with the odd shot of memory that's somewhere in that grey
- 6:59matter. So we opened the day with the
- 7:05title championship as Tom Felwell joined by Danny proper.
- 7:13They oh, Tom, I should say, took on Spike Trevay.
- 7:19This was a really enjoyable, solid opener.
- 7:26Tom very much being the the rule breaker in this contest,
- 7:35bringing up kind of like Manchester, which bringing up
- 7:41Manchester, especially in Yorkshire, you ain't, you ain't
- 7:47getting cheered mate and was pretty much the reaction he
- 7:53wanted. It did help that my mate kind of
- 7:58joined in with the 0161 champ which was brave on his part it
- 8:05has to be said. It was really strange as well
- 8:11seeing Spike Trevay playing a fan favourite because everywhere
- 8:18I've ever seen him he has played the I don't know what the Rule
- 8:24breaker eel if you want to go that way, but this was a really
- 8:32fun opening match. I did like the spot where Tom
- 8:38put his hand out to Spike with his fingers crossed behind his
- 8:43back wanted to kind of shake his hand.
- 8:48Spike asking the crowd, is it a trap?
- 8:54And where is most of the time you'll kind of like have the
- 9:00good guy shake the hand and that leads to a beat down.
- 9:05Spike grabbing the hand of Tom and just snapping the fingers
- 9:10was something I haven't seen before, but I really did enjoy
- 9:16that particular spot. Tom, I mean he did he did well,
- 9:27he he did a nice little kind of reverse spot.
- 9:36We've spike where home spike in a move spike could reverse it
- 9:42almost like a hammerlock. I think it was so Tom would get
- 9:45spike in a hammerlock. Spike could kind of like wriggle
- 9:49out put Tom in it. Tom would then reverse it.
- 9:53Spike would then reverse it. And this kind of went on about 8
- 9:58to 10 times, but it did not get old.
- 10:03It definitely have the the crowd enjoying this the match itself.
- 10:11Tom really did a good job here. Spike I've I've always set the
- 10:22point of if a wrestler can play both the rule brick and the fan
- 10:32favourite and get a crowd reaction, then they are kind of
- 10:37like they're waiting gold or worth their waiting gold and
- 10:42seeing how Spike was being the good guy.
- 10:49I've always been a fan of Spike. I love his kind of villainous
- 10:55role that he he had in progress when I've kind of first got into
- 11:00the British wrestling scene properly.
- 11:05So to see a almost a flip side of Spike was refreshing to see.
- 11:15And it has made me want to like see more title, which I am
- 11:23looking to try and do more this year because the the show itself
- 11:28I I fully, I fully enjoyed. If truth be told, the match
- 11:34itself though Spike ended Tom's hopes of a title change hitting
- 11:41the Tower of Silence. So Spike retains the title.
- 11:48Championship match #2 saw Ace Matthews taking on Alexander
- 11:57Lockhart accompanied by Lucy Couture.
- 12:02This again Ace in the the same kind of boat so to speak, as
- 12:13Spike. For me, I've only ever seen Ace
- 12:17at North and he has predominantly been kind of like
- 12:22the the bad guy as part of the landed Gentry.
- 12:27So seeing Ace being the I don't know if he's an in between or a
- 12:36good guy because I couldn't fully work that out early doors.
- 12:42Not until the crowd is kind of cheering for Ace and seeing how
- 12:47Lockhart was. They did announce, however, that
- 12:54Matthews has gone a year without winning in title.
- 13:01So I feel the the building to something where he kind of gets
- 13:07a win. So the could have possibly
- 13:12posted what might happen on a later show.
- 13:16We'll touch on that in a second. The contest itself, Ace battling
- 13:22heart, Ace battling hard. Lockhart was in all sorts of
- 13:28trouble. But kind of having Couture as
- 13:33your, I don't want to say Valley because she's not a valet, but
- 13:43kind of a company friend. Whatever.
- 13:51She distracted Ace as it had both Lockout and Couture on the
- 13:56ring apron. Ace comes running over Lockout,
- 14:03moves out of the way, Lockout then gets the victory.
- 14:10I think it's a roll up. I haven't put how the match
- 14:13ended, but for the majority was kind of everything was going for
- 14:21Matthews. But this is my first time seeing
- 14:26Alexander lockout. He he has a distinct character
- 14:35on watching him. This works really well with Ace
- 14:43I felt. So I think I'm going to look
- 14:47more into kind of like Lockhart's the rear kind of
- 14:55looking on YouTube and things like that just to kind of get up
- 14:58to speed because I know he does do Spinebuster media or sorry,
- 15:05spinebuster underground. So I will have to give a couple
- 15:10of those a watch after the match.
- 15:16It saw Ace going to on Lacey's boots, a sign of calling it
- 15:25quits, retiring, the crowd all shouting or telling Ace don't do
- 15:33it, shouting no, no. He then asks for the microphone,
- 15:41tells Taj that to give him one final shot at the title
- 15:47championship. They saw Taj kind of reluctantly
- 15:54agreeing to this asking of this question.
- 16:00So it looks like we are going to get Ace Matthews versus Spike
- 16:06Trevay for the title championship.
- 16:10Maybe on the next show that could have been said.
- 16:15Again, memories a bit fuzzy, but yes, that is what happened with
- 16:24that match #3 saw for the title tag team championships Misery
- 16:33Business consisting of Joe, Wade and Alan.
- 16:41I haven't got your surname, which isn't the best thing to
- 16:43do, so I'll just call him Misery Business because that's going to
- 16:47be my cheap way out. They took on a Wing Commander
- 16:53Nash and Wesley and Cerenko. This felt very much the kind of
- 17:04the palette cleanser of the show, so to speak.
- 17:10At least Nash took some nasty looking chops from Joe Wade, one
- 17:20where the Nash had his shirt pulled over him and Wade just
- 17:27let loose with a couple of stiff chops.
- 17:33It was the thing of they were both dressed up like Hogan,
- 17:40which again is a thing, which was an interesting route to go
- 17:49down. It has to be said.
- 17:53It was a it was an OK tag title match.
- 18:00Seemed to be more kind of humour than anything.
- 18:08The back end of it saw Nash faking a knee injury, but we
- 18:14didn't know that at the time. And Nash kind of like went into
- 18:19the turnbuckle, fell backwards holding his knee.
- 18:25Saw Jamie who was helping as a medic.
- 18:30She came into the ring to help. Everyone kind of went quiet.
- 18:37Misery business came in to check on him.
- 18:39This led to Nash proving that he was not injured as it was all a
- 18:46ruse and had him grabbing Joe Wade to get the pinfall in a
- 18:53kind of like a roll up attempt. This saw brand new title tag
- 18:59team champions with Misery Business none too happy and
- 19:06well, well they should to be fair.
- 19:12So it feels like Nash and Wesley have gone down the dark side,
- 19:21which considering Misery Business are very dark
- 19:26themselves, have gone even darker the Misery Business.
- 19:33But it's going to be interesting to see if the former tag champs
- 19:39want to try and reclaim those belts at a later date.
- 19:48We then had as the main event of the first half the HT Drake
- 19:55challenge and this saw the challenge being answered by Big
- 20:03Rig. So there was some history
- 20:08between these two men which. HC very much made cutting a
- 20:17promo on the mic and challenged rig to a big man match which was
- 20:25effectively all moves must be done in a big man style.
- 20:31So no flips, no kind of fast-paced off.
- 20:38It's going to be a meaty man match effectively, so both men
- 20:46did extremely well to kind of keep it within the parameters of
- 20:54that stipulation. This is despite both men hitting
- 21:01moves that were outside of that and apologising and trying to
- 21:07find ways round it. Drake hitting a cane clothesline
- 21:15when he went on to the top rope had the crowd all pointing and
- 21:22going no no no you can't do that, that's not a big big man
- 21:25move. HT using his quick thinking to
- 21:31claim that it's a cane clothesline, which I mean, it is
- 21:37a big man move. Kane did do that.
- 21:42So this kind of went back and forth.
- 21:45This was, it was pretty, I knew silly, but it was a good silly.
- 21:54I really enjoyed it. Drake then asked ref Katie to
- 22:02get on his back as he performed a Warrior splash.
- 22:08Again, a choice to use certain moves.
- 22:17Well, I'll just get random messages off friends so he has
- 22:25Katie on his back. Splashes Big Rig does not get
- 22:31the pinfall victory which leads to Drake going.
- 22:35I need more strength, I need more weight, Dinged shouts ref
- 22:44Sandy Beaches to come to the ring and has both 80 and Sandy
- 22:54on his back and obviously he could not run with them to on
- 22:59there. Kind of we bounced off the ropes
- 23:03and just crumbled on top of Big Rig with both the referees
- 23:10looking in pain having been on Drake's back and then just
- 23:16falling over. We did technically see a six
- 23:22count because both the referees counted the pinfall victory for
- 23:28Drake. It was, it was a load of fun.
- 23:34Nothing, nothing wrong with that.
- 23:38It's for the silliness. It was up there.
- 23:45I mean, again, as I said, I enjoyed this match.
- 23:50It was something different, which I think all wrestling
- 23:53shows kind of need to be. We then went for the interval
- 24:01and when we came back it saw Taj, the title owner, making a
- 24:11speech about if you want to do something, then do it.
- 24:17Don't worry about what people will say or if anything's going
- 24:22to go wrong, Just do it. Do it for you.
- 24:25Do something that makes you happy.
- 24:31She then announced that as of the end of this year, she will
- 24:38be stepping down as the owner of Tidal Wrestling, having taken
- 24:47over I think around 2022. I could be wrong, but it's it
- 24:56was early kind of twenty 20s. But she did announce that Z, who
- 25:05is head of creative and one of the main people, one of the main
- 25:11players if you will, with the promotion, will be taking over
- 25:18the reins of title heading into 2027.
- 25:26So it seems that the promotion, well in good hands, is going to
- 25:34be in equally better hands with Z taking over.
- 25:44Back to the action and we had a really enjoyable contest with
- 25:51Denzel Mack taking on Jet Marshall.
- 25:57Both of these I've seen kind of at North Wrestling or at TNT
- 26:05Gentleman who we saw kind of September taking on Tommy Tanner
- 26:14back in TNT. They had a really great opening
- 26:20match on that card. Jack Marshall has it's hard to
- 26:28to actually kind of place jet for me with North because I
- 26:35think when I first saw him, he was AI think he was a good guy.
- 26:43But then the last show I saw of North was actually the lead
- 26:48show. So I'm a bit out of the the loop
- 26:52with not N at the moment, but he kind of came as a bad guy.
- 27:01But on this occasion both were kind of fun favourites.
- 27:08Again, this was a really enjoyable contest.
- 27:12Dental having the better offings just kind of like with the the
- 27:18Bolt Jet who was giving up a few pounds to Denzel, but Marshall
- 27:27always seemed to have that kind of bulldog spirit of just always
- 27:32fighting back. Did have Mack on the back foot
- 27:38at one point. However, a frog splash from Mack
- 27:43would prove to be enough on this occasion and saw Denzel taking
- 27:51victory with him and Marshall kind of raising each of his hand
- 27:57after the contest. Show of good sportsmanship and a
- 28:03really enjoyable contest to boot.
- 28:08Then we saw the collision of the freak show as Axel the Clown
- 28:18took on Gentlemen Jim McGuire with special guest referee
- 28:25Freaky Felicia. So most of this card was all new
- 28:37to me because I haven't really followed time.
- 28:41I've heard podcasts on shows that have happened, so there has
- 28:50obviously been a breakdown within the freak show.
- 28:56Felicia, being the special guest referee, kept having Axel
- 29:01telling her to do this and do that, almost kind of siding with
- 29:06him. But Felicia, donning the
- 29:10stripes, was more than happy to kind of play it down the middle.
- 29:18Felicia tried to stop Axel throwing so many punches on
- 29:24gentleman Jim McGuire in the corner.
- 29:28Twice Axel had thrown Felicia off, leading to the crowd
- 29:36thinking, are we going to get Felicia do something?
- 29:41But she did not rise to the bait.
- 29:45She wanted to do everything fair.
- 29:48She didn't want to play favourites.
- 29:52However, the back end of this contest saw Axel just pushing
- 29:59Felicia too much and Felicia ended up hitting like a almost
- 30:07like a crossroads move on Axel before shaking in the corner.
- 30:17Allah kind of. Shawn Michaels after super
- 30:22kicking the Undertaker back in the Hell in a Cell match.
- 30:25I think it was WrestleMania 3231, one of those matches.
- 30:33So she didn't want to get involved, but she did.
- 30:36Jim would get the pinfall. Axel took off, did not want to
- 30:43shake Mcguire's hand. I did not want to know Felicia.
- 30:49So I think this story still has some legs in it.
- 30:54So we will see what happens down the line.
- 31:03We ended the first half or sorry, the first show I should
- 31:07say, with an Iron Will title contest.
- 31:12This was my match of the day. Shay Monet challenging the Iron
- 31:22Will champion in Lucic. This was so good.
- 31:29Again, Shay Monet, who I've seen mostly wrestling at TNT as the
- 31:38odd guy. Seeing him being kind of the
- 31:46good guy, it was interesting to have the crowd cheer for Monet.
- 31:55Vusic, who I've now seen kind of being heelish.
- 32:01It really does seem weird seeing Vusic with hair.
- 32:06I know a few people have said this but I it does answer
- 32:12different dial dynamic to him but it's still strange for me.
- 32:22I suppose it'll grow on me eventually as as well.
- 32:27It would him. So Monet jumped out to A2 nil
- 32:33lead in a 15 minute Iron Man or Iron Will match.
- 32:40However, Lucic fights his way back into the contest, levelling
- 32:47at 2 apiece or a Desmond and then in the closing stages of
- 32:54the last few minutes would score 3 pinfalls for a couple of
- 32:59submissions, taking the contest to a 52V.
- 33:10It makes a change to have a kind of like an Iron Man match and
- 33:15it's not leading to like a funny ending or a one fall difference.
- 33:27It was fully kind of like a click or win for music, but
- 33:34Monet is. It was such an enjoyable match
- 33:41to watch. Hard hitting as hell.
- 33:45Monet did a great job in this contest.
- 33:49So did music. They told a good story.
- 33:53I would love to see them kind of like go again.
- 34:00I just really enjoyed this this contest.
- 34:02Even though I haven't written as many notes, it really was my
- 34:07standout match of the entire two shows.
- 34:13I did manage to film quite a bit, but I really did enjoy this
- 34:18contest. It was so much fun to watch.
- 34:22I almost, almost had it finished so early to be fair.
- 34:30But yeah, a great way to finish off the first half of a double
- 34:37headed show. So we then kind of like went for
- 34:43a couple of drinks downstairs. We then returned for show #2
- 34:52which was this one's for you too, with Nikki doing the doing
- 35:05the announcing in the second-half.
- 35:09Oh, sorry. Before before we come to this,
- 35:15the aftermath of the Vusic and Shame on a Match saw Vusic
- 35:22continuing the assault on Monet. I would not give up putting the
- 35:31hold on this would lead to HT Drake coming out who informed us
- 35:38that he is a Grand Slam champion in the promotion.
- 35:44And because he won the Rumble, I think on the last show or a
- 35:50couple of shows ago, that entitles him to challenge for
- 35:54whatever title there is entitled that he would like to go to or
- 36:00go for and opts to go for the Iron Will title and would like
- 36:08to try and beat the hell out of Lucic.
- 36:12And having them two in the ring. It's it's going to be a good.
- 36:19And so if I do make it to the next show, I definitely have one
- 36:26match that I am massively invested in moving.
- 36:35After we had the break between the two shows, are we headed to
- 36:43show #2 entitled This One's For You 2, which was a all women's
- 36:53card and there were a couple of good matches and a a strange
- 37:02opener, it has to be said. So we started off with Freaky
- 37:10Felicia of the Freak Show taking on Nisa.
- 37:16I've not seen Nisa before. The contest itself went probably
- 37:25about two and a half 3 minutes. Again, I do not know if
- 37:34something had happened, if Nisa picked up an injury or what
- 37:40particularly happened, but they kind of seemed like rabbits in a
- 37:49in a headlight at times. Alicia ended up kind of walking
- 37:55Nisha through the match. I want to say there was like a
- 38:01slight injury or something had happened but the timing was
- 38:08pretty much off in this, which was a bit of a shame.
- 38:16But it just feels like something had had happened for it to only
- 38:19go like 3 minutes. But both were OK because they it
- 38:27took part in the battle Royals. So yeah, it was it was a really
- 38:32weird contest that the fans can really get really into because
- 38:41the never really got going in fairness.
- 38:45But Felicia I believe has been injured, saw her making her
- 38:52return to singles action in this winning with a choke slam.
- 39:01So yeah, that was your your opener.
- 39:05Match number 2 was this was a really fun one.
- 39:10Natasha Swan and Lucy Couture a thump in it this time.
- 39:17A flip from the earlier show with Alexander Locker being at
- 39:22ringside again. This one was a felt a bit of a
- 39:29slow burner, but then once kind of the they got the feet going
- 39:36and everything, the match really kind of like picked up a bit of
- 39:41steam. The crowd was into it.
- 39:45Katar who gives off bratty vibes even kind of the ring entrance
- 39:53music, someone who in kind of like pink and was just an
- 40:02extremely lucky crowd favourite guitar who did as a rule breaker
- 40:16villain. She really plays that part
- 40:20extremely well, Which. I think does help matches that
- 40:26don't always kind of get going, but her kind of character work
- 40:32really did help this at the beginning.
- 40:37Moaning at the crowd, picking on Swan, even getting locked out to
- 40:44join in as well. Really good work the match when
- 40:50it got going, really kind of enjoyable to watch.
- 40:54I've never seen these two wrestle before.
- 40:58I've heard a lot about Couture. The match ended when it saw Swan
- 41:07dashing towards Couture and Lockout, who were both on the
- 41:13ring apron. Lucy kind of leant back saw
- 41:18Lockout getting knocked off the top, Kato then grabbed Holder,
- 41:26Swan spun around hit a stunner to get the victory to pick up
- 41:34the 123. It was a really solid, enjoyable
- 41:39contest. It definitely made me a fan of
- 41:44both Swan and Kato moving forward and of course, we would
- 41:51see both of these ladies later on in that number one contenders
- 41:57match for the women's title next on the card.
- 42:06So a lot of, I say a lot, a few of the matches that were
- 42:14announced did not happen. I think also due to logistics of
- 42:22obviously transport, because trains from the north coming
- 42:29down to Yorkshire and kind of from the northwest to Yorkshire
- 42:35was quite scarce. There was a lot of problems.
- 42:45So we ended up kind of condensing a couple of matches
- 42:50it felt and bringing in new people.
- 42:54So we had a triple threat match with Scarlett, Erin Taylor and
- 43:02Lily Winter. Of all the matches we saw on
- 43:09show too, this is probably the stand out.
- 43:16So we started with Lily getting her traditional abuse from the
- 43:21the audience of Teamu Elsa, mainly because she she's the Ice
- 43:28queen and being the ice queen dressed in white, you, you are
- 43:35going to get Frozen references. And the crowd were very vocal in
- 43:43calling her Teamu Elsa. Taylor, who Taylor and Scout I
- 43:53hadn't seen before. It's like a lot on this the two
- 43:57shows. It was nice getting to kind of
- 44:02see new people and becoming new fans.
- 44:08Taylor hit some really nice offence in this in this contest.
- 44:16You look at her and compared to the other two, you thought that
- 44:23she was going to be the one that was the more picked on.
- 44:27But if anything, she was probably the more aggressive of
- 44:33of the three. They all kind of played their
- 44:38their parts well in this contest.
- 44:42Scarlett, who I had never seen before as I'm probably over
- 44:50playing that record continuously saying that, but I really loved
- 44:58Scout in this contest characters.
- 45:02Her character came out massively, very vocal, whether
- 45:11it was intended to be. She is very funny with like the
- 45:17the put downs and just shouting at the referee over things.
- 45:24It kind of did make me fall in love with Scarlett in this
- 45:27match. Lily, we we all know what you're
- 45:33getting with Lily. She is one of the best
- 45:38performers I feel in the north and is only getting better and
- 45:45better with every view I see. I mean this, this contest really
- 45:53kind of like went one way and then the other and then a
- 45:57different route. Winter takes the victory though
- 46:03I think with a frostbite or skull crushing finale if you
- 46:09prefer to use that. Or it could have been the cold
- 46:12shoulder where it's like a TKO move.
- 46:18A lot to like about this match. A lot to enjoy with all three in
- 46:25this contest. Really good contest, easily one
- 46:33of the most easy to watch matches, but did a great job.
- 46:41Kind of like telling a story as well.
- 46:47So kind of thumbs up to all three in that match.
- 46:54We then came to the penultimate match of the day which saw
- 47:02Ashley Vega making her debut in title, I believe taking on the
- 47:08women's champion in Alfie. Ashley Vega, who very much a
- 47:16shrinking Violet she was not, came out with a Saint Andrew
- 47:24Scottish flag, Glaswegian scouting, a lot of stuff that
- 47:32was in a very thick Scottish accent, which obviously take a
- 47:40Scottish person, put them in England, you're just going to
- 47:45get kind of certain phrases shouted back at you.
- 47:52She did a great job at trying to keep a group of lads that were
- 48:00in the far corner quiet because they kind of kept shouting
- 48:05things out. Anything that was Scottish
- 48:08based. They were pretty much launching
- 48:11towards chants of David Tennant and the the most random chant I
- 48:21have ever heard at a wrestling show was Mary Queen of Scots.
- 48:30Probably a couple more of a Scottish themed things were
- 48:33said. Vega, who came in like a
- 48:38Scottish Wrecking Ball as Miley Cyrus might have said very much
- 48:45the aggressor in this contest and controlled it for the
- 48:50majority. Really paid up to the
- 48:53Scottishness. I've written with, again, the
- 49:01kind of like the group of lads that were in the corner shouting
- 49:04things she'd come out with kind of like some phrases to which I
- 49:13do know a lot of Scottish people, some that have a very
- 49:19thick Scottish accent and even I struggled with it and I watched
- 49:27a lot of Still Game and that is quite thick at times.
- 49:34Alfie would fight back though, hitting a spinning kind of like
- 49:40a heel kick, which all LED up to like the the end of the contest.
- 49:48Alfie would retain the title. The match itself, I've got an OK
- 49:55match. It's the worst times I felt
- 50:00where I kind of like drifted in and out again.
- 50:04Nothing against Vega or Alpha. I think the match, you could say
- 50:12when perhaps a bit too long, possibly the chance harmed the
- 50:20match, but in fairness, it did its job.
- 50:28Vega was impressive. I definitely would love to see
- 50:33Vega somewhere else on a card that I'm going to because she
- 50:39was really fun to watch both in the ring and kind of like
- 50:45character wise. So there is that Alfie defended
- 50:51her title and she stayed out while everyone got back in the
- 50:58ring for our main event of the card in a battle royal to
- 51:06determine the number one contender for the women's title.
- 51:17So I haven't written the eliminations.
- 51:22Vega, I think was the first to be eliminated.
- 51:28Then there was kind of just chaos with people going all over
- 51:32the place. Ended up with the final two
- 51:37being Nisa and Lucy Couture. I think when we got to the final
- 51:43two, I think they did kind of Telegraph who was going to win
- 51:50this. Nisa threw Lucy over the top
- 51:55rope but had Alexander Lockhart hatching his friend on the
- 52:01outside. It also saw Lily Winter staying
- 52:06behind as well as they went on to help the Tour, taking the
- 52:12victory, pulling Nisa over the top rope and eliminating her,
- 52:20giving a Tour the number one contendership for the title.
- 52:28Alfie then came in the ring to confront the new #1 contender,
- 52:34but then had a Tour, getting the microphone and telling the
- 52:39champion to go away, which I found a bit weird to be fair,
- 52:48because it made her seem more. It felt a bit weak for a
- 52:56champion to kind of do what the the opponent wanted him to do.
- 53:05Because I thought we might get a beat down or we could get
- 53:08something or Alfie might got a promo.
- 53:13We didn't get any of that. She kind of got in the ring with
- 53:17Dee Dee, and then she gets told to go away, which she does.
- 53:26And then we have Lockout grabbing the microphone and in
- 53:31one of the interesting moments of the day, announced that as
- 53:40everyone could see Lily Winter joining him.
- 53:45It looks like there's a new alliance entitle.
- 53:48So with Lockhart guitar and Winter, he he then called
- 53:59himself. See, I'm torn between what he
- 54:03said. It sounded like the House of
- 54:09Kant or the House of Count. However, the accent of a kind of
- 54:23London way accent, the way he said the final word sounded more
- 54:33like he said the House of the C word, which had quite a lot of
- 54:41people giggling and stifling their laughing.
- 54:49Looking at you ref Katie and possibly sandy beaches.
- 54:57Katie was trying her absolute best not to laugh out loud,
- 55:06though she did have to put her hand up to her face to stop
- 55:10laughing. To which I think Sandy at one
- 55:15point said I think we should go and they very quickly headed for
- 55:22the exit. But again, overall the show
- 55:29itself, it was a fun, enjoyable show to watch.
- 55:35A few things that were off but on the whole it was still an
- 55:41enjoyable experience. Not having a couple that should
- 55:49have been there I think did hurt it to a certain degree.
- 55:55However, the talent they had on here did more than a serviceable
- 56:01job if I could use a phrase. Even from Sir Jeff from Grabs
- 56:11and claps. Serviceable match or sorry
- 56:15serviceable performances from all.
- 56:19Did not take away anything at all.
- 56:23The Whole day if truth be sold was an enjoyable experience.
- 56:31Got to catch up with some good friends.
- 56:34Chris Lawson, Jebus, who is, I like to call myself the
- 56:42Lancastrian version of Jeebus, but on a far, far lesser scale.
- 56:50We all kind of had a fun time, ended up having some food
- 56:57downstairs in the bar. Some bizarre discussions that
- 57:04took place, which we cannot repeat on on any podcast for
- 57:09that matter, ended up with us taking a taxi back.
- 57:18It's because there were no trains.
- 57:20Every train was cancelled heading back.
- 57:23So that was not ideal. But the taxi driver heading home
- 57:29was really funny. I don't know if he was a local
- 57:35but you would not have him as your tourist Information Centre
- 57:43because he ripped Huddersfield completely.
- 57:50He did not have much of a good word to say about the place
- 57:55other than the parish is as good as it gets, which could be a
- 58:04potential tagline for the parish if it's looking to promote
- 58:08itself. The only decent thing in
- 58:11Huddersfield. So yes, that was title.
- 58:22Again, I don't think this was the best that title could could
- 58:33do. I think there's far more Tidal
- 58:37could do. I think that's what I'm trying
- 58:38to say, but I think a few things potentially kind of like
- 58:44Hamperdam. That said, no, not knocking them
- 58:49at all. Really enjoyed my first trip
- 58:53there. Taj, who's running it, is doing
- 58:58extremely great there, does make me want to come back, but really
- 59:08enjoyable. I would love to go to the next
- 59:11show there, but we'll see with funding if anything is
- 59:17happening. But yeah, if you are in
- 59:21Huddersfield or even in the local area, I would definitely
- 59:27give title a go. I've heard a lot of good things
- 59:31about it and in truth it's a good promotion.
- 59:39It's there's a lot to like, there's some great performers on
- 59:44there, a nice mix of experience and you've coming through there.
- 59:53And if what I've saw is a taster, then.
- 1:00:00I'm definitely ready to see more of it.
- 1:00:05But yeah, that was my one man solo voyage of Tidal.
- 1:00:15Thank you for getting through this episode because it took
- 1:00:21about four tries to record the show.
- 1:00:27So I will leave all the kind of what title links in the
- 1:00:33description part if you want to drop a message or dad now of me
- 1:00:41because that could be what you want to do.
- 1:00:45I am on X under Brad's grappas or Brad's graps.
- 1:00:52I think you'll say the description anyway.
- 1:00:57Or PETA. Brad's Instagram is where I am
- 1:01:03mostly on that is Brad's grappas.
- 1:01:07So you'll see all my little trips around the UK visiting
- 1:01:14mainly Northwest shows, but I do tend to just turn up odd little
- 1:01:20shows around the country. Again, thank you for listening.
- 1:01:27It's massively appreciated that you take your time out to listen
- 1:01:34to this or if you're even more psychotic watching this show,
- 1:01:41God bless you. I think you may need help
- 1:01:46personally. But with that, thank you so, so
- 1:01:53much the listening or watching and we'll see you on the next
- 1:02:01episode.
