Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, Christians.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: This is Dallas Beecham.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Stand by for good news.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Before Adam ever opened his eyes, before Eve ever stood beside him, before the serpent ever whispered in the garden, God already knew.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: He knew what man would become.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: He knew the choice that would be made.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: He knew that the dust he formed would someday need redeeming.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Genesis 2 and 7 says, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: God spoke worlds into existence, but when it came to man, he formed him, he shaped him.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Then God breathed into him the breath of life.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Adam was not a God, he was not deity.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: He was dust, touched by the hand of God and made alive by the breath of God.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Then Eve was made from Adam's rib, right out of his side.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: She too was not a deity.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: She was part of the same human story formed by God's own wisdom and power.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: But then came sin.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: The garden that had known fellowship now heard footsteps of fear.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Adam hid.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Eve stood guilty.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: The serpent had deceived, and the question was not where the man had fallen, he had.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: The question was this would God leave him there?
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: No.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Right there in Genesis three hundred fifteen, God spoke of the seed of the woman bruising the serpent's head.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: That was not an accident.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: That was not a last minute rescue plan.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Peter said Christ was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Revelation speaks of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: The promise began as redemption, but it was always reaching toward restored fellowship.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Faith then did not begin with Abraham packing his tent.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Faith did not begin when Noah picked up a hammer.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Faith did not begin when Moses stood before Pharaoh.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Faith began in the confidence that God had a purpose before man ever saw the problem.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: And when the fullness of the time was come, Galatians four and four says, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law to redeem them that were under the law.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: No earthly father brought Jesus here.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Hebrews ten and five says a body hast thou prepared me.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: God prepared the body.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: God sent the Son.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: God made the way.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: From Adam's dust to Mary's womb, from Eden's promise to Calvary's heel.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: God was moving the story forward.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Men and women in the Old Testament believed promises they never fully saw.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Abel worshiped by faith.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Enoch walked by faith.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Noah built by faith.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Abraham journeyed by faith.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Sarah received strength by faith.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Gideon, Barak, Samson, and Jeptah were imperfect people, yet God used their faith in his perfect plan.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Then Hebrews 11 pulls back the curtain and says, These all having obtained a good report through faith, receive not the promise.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: They saw it afar off.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: They trusted it from a distance, but the promise was marching toward a manger, toward a cross, toward an empty tomb, and toward the outpouring of the Holy Ghost.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: Joel had spoken it long before Pentecost.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Ezekiel spoke of God putting his spirit within his people, and after Jesus rose from the dead, he told his disciples in Luke 24, 49, I send the promise of my Father upon you.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: They were not to run ahead in their own strength.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: They were to wait until they were endued with power from on high.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Then came Acts chapter 2.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Peter stood and said, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And then he tied the old promise to the new birth experience, for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: And then comes that mysterious line.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Their faith look forward to the promise.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Our faith receives the promise, but it is one redemptive story, one plan, one God, one Lamb, one way home through Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: So if your faith feels small today, remember where faith started.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: It started before the dust.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: It started in God's mind and mercy.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: The God who knew man would fall also.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: He also knew how man could be brought back.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: The promise received in Acts 2, 8, 10, and Acts 19 is still for us today.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: And that, my friends, is very good news.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: This has been five minutes of good news.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: I hope today's message has touched your heart, and I hope it causes you to have a good day.
