ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard, the heartbeat behind classics like “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs,” has passed away at 77. Known for his unmistakable backbeat and Texas roots, Beard was in hospice at his Richmond ranch when he died. Bandmate Billy Gibbons called him a true son of Texas and confirmed ZZ Top will keep playing as Frank would’ve wanted — despite canceling a Hollywood Bowl show due to foot issues.
