- 0:00Speaker 1: The Radio from Hell x pole. This is where you
- 0:04Speaker 1: get a chance to weigh in on the important issues
- 0:06Speaker 1: of the day. Call us at eight seven seven six
- 0:10Speaker 1: oh two nine six nine six, And we were kind
- 0:12Speaker 1: of kicking this around yesterday. If somebody is new to
- 0:16Speaker 1: the Radio from Hell show, somebody you say you might meet,
- 0:20Speaker 1: somebody say, oh, I know I'm a radio show that
- 0:21Speaker 1: you might like, but I got I've got to warn
- 0:25Speaker 1: you about this, about this, about this or this part,
- 0:28Speaker 1: or maybe I should tell you about this, or I mean,
- 0:31Speaker 1: what would you tell you?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Warning could be a selling point, could be oh, here's
- 0:35Speaker 2: what you'll like about.
- 0:36Speaker 3: The reason this came up is someone who someone you know,
- 0:39Speaker 3: found out what I did for Lewis says oh, I'll
- 0:41Speaker 3: have to start listening. And my caveat was, okay, give
- 0:45Speaker 3: it two weeks.
- 0:46Speaker 1: That's what I usually say.
- 0:47Speaker 3: You know, you can't just tune in for you know,
- 0:50Speaker 3: fifteen minutes and say I get it, because you won't.
- 0:53Speaker 3: So that was my caveat. Give us two weeks and
- 0:55Speaker 3: you'll understand it and then you can decide whether it's
- 0:58Speaker 3: for you or not.
- 0:59Speaker 2: But you were thinking, maybe there are some specific things
- 1:01Speaker 2: they should know before maybe going here's what you need
- 1:04Speaker 2: to know going into it.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Going into it, here's some things you need to know.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Maybe it's a warning, or maybe it's a here. You
- 1:11Speaker 1: may not understand this, so let me explain this part
- 1:14Speaker 1: of the show to you before you listen to it,
- 1:16Speaker 1: or as you're listening to it.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Eight seven seven six oh two nine six.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Maybe this is a terrible expole. I don't know. Nobody
- 1:25Speaker 3: seems to want to participate.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Like like like, thanks for letting me listen. When we
- 1:31Speaker 2: say thanks for letting me listen, oftentimes we will hear
- 1:34Speaker 2: people new to the show.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Go, huh, what does that mean? Why do people say
- 1:38Speaker 1: that that's dumb? You don't let them listen, they just listen.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It just stems from a long ago. It always bugged
- 1:47Speaker 1: me when and they people still don't yeh. They call
- 1:49Speaker 1: it when they do call in shows, you know, they go, uh,
- 1:52Speaker 1: thanks for taking my.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Call, Thanks for taking my call. That's where it comes from.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Thanks for taking my call. I don't get it why
- 1:59Speaker 1: people say that.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Let's see, here's some people in the chat room weighing in.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I tell them that the views express do not necessarily
- 2:08Speaker 3: reflect the opinions of Broadway media. It's management owners or advertising.
- 2:11Speaker 1: It's true. They definitely do not reflect.
- 2:15Speaker 3: All right, we got some texts coming in. I would
- 2:17Speaker 3: just tell them that pressure Drop is the best song ever.
- 2:20Speaker 2: That's kind of the official song of the radio.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Formas it is.
- 2:24Speaker 1: There's a call online one. All right, let's see what
- 2:27Speaker 1: Alison Alison sable, Hi, Hi, So I just wanted to let.
- 2:33Speaker 2: The listen new any new listener know that if Carrie
- 2:36Speaker 2: doesn't like what you have to say, he can turn
- 2:39Speaker 2: off your radio specifically. And I heard him do it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I don't think he's.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Ever done it to me because I don't want to.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I don't want to make him that.
- 2:49Speaker 5: But he has the ability to do that.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I do have that. It is an amazing piece of technology.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I don't know how the engineers came up with it,
- 2:58Speaker 3: but I can turn off your radio specific.
- 3:01Speaker 1: That's That's also part of the reason people say thanks
- 3:04Speaker 1: for letting me listen, because we we are allowing you
- 3:07Speaker 1: to listen to this show through our benevolent rule privilege.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It is a privilege for us.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Exactly. You've got the right attitude, Alison's that's why, Alison
- 3:16Speaker 1: is it is a privilege. It's it's in underdeveloped countries
- 3:21Speaker 1: they don't have this.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Kind of This is true Radio, this is true.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You're lucky to be here.
- 3:26Speaker 3: The people of the Congo wish they.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Had no kidding. Eight seven seven six two nine six
- 3:31Speaker 1: ninety six. Thanks Allison. Let's see who we got here.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Teresa, Hi, Teresa.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Hi, Teresa, good morning, Good morning. What would you tell
- 3:42Speaker 1: a new listener you want to warn them about something
- 3:45Speaker 1: or explain something to them about.
- 3:46Speaker 5: The show, be prepared. They're a Democrat.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Just know they're probably Democrats. You know, I don't really
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm not a Democrat. I don't really consider myself a Democrat. No, don't.
- 3:58Speaker 3: It's just right now. They seem to be the smart
- 4:02Speaker 3: ones in the building.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You know what, when people ask me, well, what are you?
- 4:05Speaker 1: What are you affiliated with? I say, I'm an anarchist
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I'm.
- 4:08Speaker 3: A registered Republican. That's true, Gina and I are registered Republicans.
- 4:12Speaker 1: That is true.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I would like to participate in our elections here, and that's.
- 4:15Speaker 3: The only way, absolutely true.
- 4:18Speaker 5: But I like the statement that you made. I'm a
- 4:21Speaker 5: smart one. I think that's a better way to see it.
- 4:23Speaker 4: They're the smart one.
- 4:24Speaker 3: They seem to be the adults in the room, right now,
- 4:26Speaker 3: I mean, let's be honest.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you, Theresa. All right, thank you. Although I
- 4:32Speaker 1: am certainly not above criticizing democrats.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Oh no, we've done it. I had somebody texting me
- 4:37Speaker 3: yesterday saying, you guys never talked this way about democrats.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I'm like, no, we take them to task when when
- 4:42Speaker 3: it's required.
- 4:43Speaker 1: What would you tell a new listener of the Radio
- 4:46Speaker 1: from Hell show about this show?
- 4:48Speaker 3: The guy in the chat room says that they're always
- 4:51Speaker 3: right and never lie.
- 4:53Speaker 1: That's right, that's our mission statement. We're always right and
- 4:56Speaker 1: we never lie. Nobody seems to want to comment much
- 5:00Speaker 1: on it. Well, apparently we're having yeah, but we do
- 5:03Speaker 1: have Corey. It's like Corey got through. Hi Corey, Hi guys. Hi,
- 5:08Speaker 1: So Corey, what would you tell people?
- 5:11Speaker 4: Well, since you guys did a fair number of events
- 5:14Speaker 4: and live things where fans can meet you, I thought
- 5:18Speaker 4: it would be good to differentiate between the radio person
- 5:23Speaker 4: and the real life person that you each are.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Uh yeah, well I might have some of these backwards.
- 5:31Speaker 4: So, for example, on the radio, Gina is a lot
- 5:36Speaker 4: dumber than she is in real.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Life, and I have some of these backwards.
- 5:42Speaker 1: So she's pretty, she's pretty dumb in real life though,
- 5:46Speaker 1: but I'm dumber on the road.
- 5:47Speaker 4: But I've met her a few times. She's she seems
- 5:50Speaker 4: pretty smart. Okay, Bill, So Bill, I think, and again
- 5:56Speaker 4: I'm careful backwards.
- 5:58Speaker 1: You're a lot.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Meaner in real life than you are on the radio. Really,
- 6:04Speaker 4: and Carrie, you're way more drunk on the radio than
- 6:11Speaker 4: you are in real life. I think some of those flipped.
- 6:14Speaker 4: I think maybe you do when people Yeah, when people
- 6:18Speaker 4: meet you, they'll be able.
- 6:19Speaker 1: To tell Okay, all right, Okay, thanks Corey.
- 6:23Speaker 4: You know I love you. Guys, just know that, thank you.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I've listened for you know, thirty plus years. You're the best.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Thank you such a big part of all our lives.
- 6:32Speaker 1: That's what I would tell them to get thanks Cory.
- 6:36Speaker 1: So you see those little underprivileged children like Corey, we
- 6:39Speaker 1: we help him.
- 6:41Speaker 3: So just in the future, if you're calling in, if
- 6:44Speaker 3: if the call drops, call back immediately. That's not us
- 6:48Speaker 3: hanging up on you. We're having We're having a bit
- 6:50Speaker 3: of a phonus showing wacky the interfaces acting up.
- 6:53Speaker 1: You know what would you tell a new listener to
- 6:55Speaker 1: the radio from el I.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Like this, this is good for Terrence the gay or
- 6:59Speaker 2: my adopted he says, make a good name for yourself.
- 7:04Speaker 2: The audience is just as much of the show as
- 7:06Speaker 2: the lords are. Do that by keeping your answer short
- 7:09Speaker 2: and sweet on the phone, and always give yourself a title.
- 7:13Speaker 3: That's a great suggestion. All right, Let's see, here's this
- 7:17Speaker 3: of texts. They are raging liberals who sometimes talk to
- 7:21Speaker 3: the audience as if we aren't also raging liberals. Well,
- 7:26Speaker 3: we have to take that into account. Let's see, they
- 7:30Speaker 3: will never find out what forty special sauces that will
- 7:33Speaker 3: pork up any meal someday.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I've still got the list. I found it.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Handsome Bill already brought to you in part by what
- 7:42Speaker 3: he had for dinner. That is, that would be a
- 7:45Speaker 3: confusing if you're just tuning in.
- 7:47Speaker 1: You know, I'm handsome Bill already.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Let's see, I tell people this is where I get
- 7:53Speaker 3: all my news.
- 7:56Speaker 1: That Yeah, you shouldn't do that. No, no, because the
- 7:59Speaker 1: news that give you is exceptionally biased. Oh here's one.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yes, there are no ladies on radio from hell.
- 8:07Speaker 3: They are all lords.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Okay, I wish I wish people would get.
- 8:10Speaker 4: That I'm a lord of mourning radio.
- 8:12Speaker 1: People say good morning lords and lady know Gina is
- 8:16Speaker 1: a lord of morning radio. She's and she ain't no lady,
- 8:20Speaker 1: that's for sure.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Let's see. Uh, here's here's someone who thinks they're gonna
- 8:25Speaker 3: dig at us here Are you ready?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Sure?
- 8:28Speaker 3: It's called Radio from Hell because the show was edgy
- 8:30Speaker 3: when it started forty years ago, but not anymore.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Oh okay, oh you got us?
- 8:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 1: These don't all have to be positive by any way.
- 8:39Speaker 2: If you would like to warn somebody away from Radio
- 8:42Speaker 2: from Hell, you can tell us.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Oh you, it's not for you.
- 8:46Speaker 3: It may not be your cup of tea, but coffee
- 8:48Speaker 3: is good too.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Let's see line one. Somebody got through there. Amy there,
- 8:53Speaker 1: Hi Amy, Hi guys, how are you fine? Just fine?
- 8:57Speaker 1: What what would you tell people about the show?
- 9:01Speaker 5: Well, I am a newcomer to the Utah area, the
- 9:04Speaker 5: Salt Lake area, and I was flipping through the stations,
- 9:08Speaker 5: and my boyfriend said that you guys are great and
- 9:14Speaker 5: that you're very opinionated, and you you do the other
- 9:20Speaker 5: the other side of a lot of the stories, because
- 9:24Speaker 5: I mean, there's Utah is very vative, yes, conservative, and
- 9:33Speaker 5: and you guys are not. And it's yeah, and I
- 9:38Speaker 5: came from Idaho, so like there's a lot of the
- 9:42Speaker 5: different Like it's a lot of the same views, but
- 9:45Speaker 5: I have been able to have my eyes opened a
- 9:48Speaker 5: little bit by what you guys do. Yeah, So it's
- 9:55Speaker 5: it's very helpful for me because I came from a
- 9:58Speaker 5: very sheltered.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Where in Idaho did you come from?
- 10:03Speaker 5: It was Idah Falls.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I kind of like Idaho Falls, by the way,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I've said that before. Yeah, it's a it's a pretty
- 10:10Speaker 1: it's a pretty little place.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Yeah, And it's just kind of exploding right now with
- 10:16Speaker 5: you know people. Yeah, people are moving in and like
- 10:20Speaker 5: it by the masses, like thousands of units are going
- 10:24Speaker 5: up all over. But I mean a lot of the
- 10:27Speaker 5: people there have the same views as the people here,
- 10:30Speaker 5: and so, you know, like I grew up with with
- 10:34Speaker 5: not knowing, uh, the other side of the stories.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It's so we're happy to have you. How long have
- 10:42Speaker 1: you been listening to the show, Amy, I've been.
- 10:44Speaker 5: Here for two years and I've listened almost every single day.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Well, thanks for doing Yeah, not a problem again. Fall
- 10:55Speaker 1: in Again, we like to hear from you.
- 10:56Speaker 2: On the other side we have you'll get liberal Soros
- 11:00Speaker 2: takes if you want horrible sports takes. Gina has you,
- 11:03Speaker 2: and for some reason, Bill has I don't know what
- 11:06Speaker 2: that means.
- 11:07Speaker 3: What Bill is the good ce of the voiceless. I
- 11:11Speaker 3: don't know. I have no idea.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And Carrie will judge your nerd opinions harshly.
- 11:15Speaker 1: No. Actually, Carrie is pretty liberal about if you're you
- 11:19Speaker 1: can be geek or a nerd or whatever you want. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 1: and so there's somebody online too.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Is it Chris?
- 11:28Speaker 1: Hey, Chris, yes, Chris, Hi? Hi? What would you tell people.
- 11:35Speaker 5: That, no matter what time of day, they're fine, just fine.
- 11:38Speaker 5: You don't need to have now they're doing?
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah, because we are. We're just fine, We're fine, We're
- 11:42Speaker 1: just fine.
- 11:43Speaker 3: There was a there was a talk radio host that
- 11:45Speaker 3: I listened to. I don't anymore, but people would call
- 11:49Speaker 3: in and they'd say, Hey, how you doing, and he
- 11:51Speaker 3: would go, do you care?
- 11:54Speaker 4: You know what? No?
- 11:55Speaker 1: No, I don't know really you know? So thanks Chris,
- 11:58Speaker 1: thanks for that, Thanks.
- 11:59Speaker 3: For all right, let's see oh back to find just fine.
- 12:04Speaker 3: This is when people call in to play the Frank
- 12:06Speaker 3: Christ game. When you're asked how you're doing, you must
- 12:10Speaker 3: reply with I'm fine, I'm just fine. I would warn you.
- 12:15Speaker 2: They rarely play my dingling rarely.
- 12:19Speaker 1: We rarely do.
- 12:21Speaker 3: And conversely, someone texted, is my dingling is their most
- 12:24Speaker 3: requested some?
- 12:28Speaker 1: Does anybody play my dingling with any frequency? No?
- 12:35Speaker 3: Let's see, Oh, here we go. This is from SID.
- 12:37Speaker 3: You'll love radio from Hell so much you'll want to
- 12:39Speaker 3: give them gifts. However, Gina will not eat homemade food.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It's not you, it's just a safety protocols.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Why I have a policy and I'll eat anything.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Yes, And speaking of eating, that's something that someone texted
- 12:51Speaker 3: in they will eat on the air as they talk
- 12:54Speaker 3: about how listeners hate hearing people eat on the air. Well,
- 13:01Speaker 3: let's see we love and support the queers, Yeah, says
- 13:05Speaker 3: here we do. Let's see if your wife listens TOGS
- 13:09Speaker 3: ninety six and you listen to NPR, it's smart to
- 13:12Speaker 3: change what you listen to.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Oh okay, come on over, Okay, let's see.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I think NPR loves the queers. They just won't say it.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Travis the Prime pym in here three things. Yes, they
- 13:27Speaker 3: are progressive and that won't change unless someone backs a
- 13:30Speaker 3: truck of money up to the studio.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Sure, Yeah, a sternly written email won't change that too. Kids,
- 13:39Speaker 3: Sometimes Mommy and Daddy Bill and Gina fight, but they
- 13:42Speaker 3: still love each other. Yeah, and they will eat on
- 13:45Speaker 3: the air, deal with it.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah. My favorite thing about Gina, I said, when people
- 13:49Speaker 1: ask me about her, what's your favorite thing about Gin?
- 13:51Speaker 1: I say, she knows how to take a punch.
- 13:53Speaker 3: You mean that in the best way?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you really. She just you can say say almost
- 13:58Speaker 1: anything to Gina and she she just will laugh or
- 14:03Speaker 1: I can take it. Take it.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Oh, here's one. Carrie doesn't think he's better than you.
- 14:07Speaker 3: It's just the way he talks. Actually, that's pretty accurate.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Is you really don't think you're better? I don't know.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I'm the first to point out I'm not. Let's see
- 14:18Speaker 3: and then oh Ed Brass weighing in our attorney and
- 14:23Speaker 3: sports reporter. The simple answer is the greatest fifteen minutes
- 14:27Speaker 3: of sports in the history of sports broadcast.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Now, yeah, it's all right, but no,
