- 0:26Sean McAllister: It's all coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:28Dayna Roselli: And thanks to our sponsor, Steep Echo Tea, it is delicious tea from the orchards of Santa Barbara.
- 0:35Dayna Roselli: They use olive leaf.
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: You guys, we're gonna have a code for you coming up that will give you 10% off your entire order.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: Stay tuned for that.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to Vegas Revealed episode 46.
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli.
- 1:00Sean McAllister: And I'm Sean McAllister.
- 1:02Sean McAllister: We are heading into the holidays, but uh kind of hunkered down at the same time.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, listen, we don't have it as bad as many other cities across the United States.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, we have a lot of things that are open still here in Las Vegas, but we're, you know, in that reservation only period, you know, prefer you to stay at home if you can get your groceries delivered, that kind of thing.
- 1:22Dayna Roselli: So, like you said, everyone's kind of resorting to, okay, now what do I watch?
- 1:27Sean McAllister: Well, and and that's been a big conversation on social media.
- 1:30Sean McAllister: Everybody is still talking about what the the big streaming thing is.
- 1:37Sean McAllister: And thank goodness for streaming.
- 1:39Sean McAllister: I know if there's any business to be in right now, it's the streaming business because you have a captive audience and and they've really done a good job at keeping new content coming out.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: They have.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: It's a very it's perfect because like once one big thing ends, there's always something ready to come.
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: And then the way that people you know share information these days is social media, and people say, Hey, I you gotta see this.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, I recommend that.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: When you're done with that, you need to watch this, and that's kind of how you get a lot of your information these days.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: And and yeah, there's been so many great series out there, great movies.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: But now that it's the holidays, you see all this stuff come up on your screen, and you're like, Okay, like what should I watch?
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: And what's it about?
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: And you know, is it going to be good?
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: Do I feel like testing the water?
- 2:25Dayna Roselli: So we we brought in an expert.
- 2:27Sean McAllister: We did.
- 2:27Sean McAllister: Rachel Smith, a longtime colleague and a voting member of the Critics Choice Awards, has been up on everything that has come out that will be coming out up through uh the holiday season.
- 2:40Sean McAllister: Even uh some breaking news that Rachel has for us about what the scene is going to look like moving into the new year with new releases.
- 2:49Sean McAllister: Rachel Smith, thanks for being here.
- 2:51SPEAKER_07: Thanks for having me back.
- 2:52SPEAKER_07: It's so good seeing you both again.
- 2:54SPEAKER_07: And of course, our our podcast puppy Sawyer.
- 2:56SPEAKER_07: He needs a shout-out.
- 2:57SPEAKER_07: He asked for that earlier.
- 2:58SPEAKER_07: We worked it out.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: He's a little lat puppy.
- 3:00SPEAKER_07: No, but honestly, I mean, there is some breaking news because we heard earlier about Wonder Woman going to HBO Max, the first, I would say, huge studio release that's gonna go to streaming the same day as theaters.
- 3:12SPEAKER_07: That arrives perfectly on time for Christmas Day.
- 3:15SPEAKER_07: But just announced Warner Brothers is announcing their entire slate for 2021.
- 3:21SPEAKER_07: All of their movies for next year will hit theaters and HBO Max the exact same day.
- 3:27SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 3:28SPEAKER_07: This is like a game changer.
- 3:30Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: And HBO Max has really been getting in some good stuff.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: Every time I look something up, it's like HBO Max.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: And like I go to friends' houses and watch it because I don't have it.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: But I'm like, should I get HBO Max?
- 3:42SPEAKER_07: You're gonna need to now because some of the titles include Dune, huge release, Matrix Four with Keanu.
- 3:49SPEAKER_07: Come on, don't let Keanu down, okay, Dana?
- 3:51SPEAKER_07: All right, Tom and Jerry for the kids.
- 3:53SPEAKER_07: There's a Matrix 4?
- 3:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:55SPEAKER_07: Listen.
- 3:55SPEAKER_07: Whoa.
- 3:56SPEAKER_07: I didn't know there was a two and three.
- 3:58SPEAKER_07: I guess we do.
- 3:58SPEAKER_07: I didn't know there was a two and three.
- 4:00SPEAKER_07: I'm looking at it all the time.
- 4:01SPEAKER_07: A little crushed there.
- 4:02SPEAKER_07: But I mean, also another musical that's coming out next summer called In the Heights, which was a huge Broadway hit, which is gonna be a, I mean, I think it's gonna be like an Oscar kind of caliber film.
- 4:11SPEAKER_07: We're gonna get some huge releases, some major movies that I really do hope if it's safe enough and people feel comfortable, they'll choose to go see it in theaters because that industry needs that support.
- 4:22SPEAKER_07: But it is nice for families who can't get to theaters to know they have this option and it's gonna just, I think, forever change the industry now.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, well, I mean, I guess because right now, I mean, we don't know where things will stand at that time, but you know, right now there's some cities that have the theaters open and some don't.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: So it's, you know, it's pick and choose of where, I guess, also where you live, if you can even get to a theater.
- 4:42SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 4:43SPEAKER_07: I do know the theaters here in Las Vegas have done an excellent job with their, you know, safety protocols, social distancing.
- 4:49SPEAKER_07: I mean, it is a very safe experience, and even some theaters here locally will allow you to write out a theater.
- 4:54SPEAKER_07: Say you want to do that with some friends and family and neighbors, and you can do that as well.
- 4:58SPEAKER_07: So there's lots of options because they need our support.
- 5:00SPEAKER_07: There's nothing like seeing a big release on the big screen, but it is nice that we're getting these options because people are staying home now more than ever before.
- 5:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: Well, and and let's dive right in to one of the big releases that is coming to our living room.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: It's it's hitting Netflix coming up this Friday.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: It's the prom.
- 5:21SPEAKER_06: Hello!
- 5:22SPEAKER_07: I am so excited.
- 5:23SPEAKER_07: Are those jazz hands I see?
- 5:25SPEAKER_07: They are jazz.
- 5:25SPEAKER_07: Listen, Sean knows from knowing me for so long I was born with jazz hands.
- 5:29SPEAKER_07: And yes, I do like a movie musical, but not listen, I saw cats, I thought it's horrible, no offense.
- 5:34SPEAKER_07: But James Corden, thankfully, is in this movie, The Prom.
- 5:38SPEAKER_07: It was a huge Broadway hit.
- 5:40SPEAKER_07: And now we've got Ryan Murphy, who's, you know, this Uber producer from television.
- 5:44SPEAKER_07: He's directing it, and he's brought literally the most impressive A-list cast of the year.
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: Meryl Street, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Andrew Reynolds, who was in Book of Mormon and Boys in the Band.
- 5:55SPEAKER_07: We've got uh Keegan Michael Keel, and then Carrie Washington, all these newcomers as well.
- 6:00SPEAKER_07: But it is such a joyous, happy, the exact movie that we need right now because it's just singing, dancing, but with a message of love, acceptance, equality.
- 6:11SPEAKER_07: I mean, I think families are going to love it.
- 6:13SPEAKER_07: I couldn't like this movie more.
- 6:15SPEAKER_07: It's so much fun.
- 6:16Sean McAllister: Well, in the musical, I know here in our house we've been listening to the to the soundtrack of this movie already, and a lot of people have been doing that because this was on Broadway first.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: The prom was on Broadway, and now it's being adapted to a screen version.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: So the music is gonna be familiar with people, and it will be it act kind of as a sing-along for people who are familiar with the music.
- 6:41SPEAKER_07: Totally, but of course, being Ryan Murphy, who always has to step things up, they include an end-of-movie song.
- 6:47SPEAKER_07: So you've got to watch the entire thing.
- 6:49SPEAKER_07: It's an original song called Wear Your Crown.
- 6:52SPEAKER_07: All the females in the movie sing this song, and Meryl Streep raps in it.
- 6:58SPEAKER_07: She raps in it.
- 6:59SPEAKER_07: Meryl Streep and she raps.
- 7:01SPEAKER_07: She raps.
- 7:02SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's like a mic drop moment.
- 7:04SPEAKER_07: So that is such an anthem song for women, for female empowerment, and just I think the movie is so much fun.
- 7:10SPEAKER_07: And I actually got a chance to talk to the cast, which is, you know, they're so impressive, and they also love this movie so much.
- 7:16SPEAKER_07: I spoke with James Corden just about delivering this gift of a movie this holiday season.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: I think you always look to the glitter and try and um try and divert your mind from the bitter, and you'll I think you'll have an infinitely better day if you do seek those little life lessons.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: I think my favorite song that that I'm part of is myself and Joel and had a had a day where we we shot in a in a in a mall and that was um at the start of a song called Tonight Belongs to you, and and I have the fondest memories of that day.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Because it was just the two of us, and we just started kind of making stuff up while we were doing it.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: And I loved it.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: I loved every second of shooting that song.
- 7:59Sean McAllister: I know it we're just so looking.
- 8:01Sean McAllister: I don't think words can capture how excited so many people are for the prom to hit Netflix, and that is December 11th.
- 8:09SPEAKER_07: Yes, and it's I mean, honestly, it'll be one that you'll want to watch again and again, and it has a good message, but it's also it's got a little bit of edge to it, but very family friendly and also just really fun.
- 8:19SPEAKER_07: It makes you happy, and that's what we need right now.
- 8:21SPEAKER_07: Yeah, happy and joy.
- 8:23SPEAKER_07: Yes, yeah, that'll be a good one for sure.
- 8:25SPEAKER_07: Okay, what else is coming out?
- 8:26SPEAKER_07: Oh my gosh, there's so many things.
- 8:27SPEAKER_07: There's you know, a lot of things have just been hitting theaters first, but now we're being made to you know watch at home.
- 8:33SPEAKER_07: One of those, now it's not for kids, it's called Freaky.
- 8:36SPEAKER_07: Now, this is you've probably seen the commercials with Vince Fawn and Catherine Newton.
- 8:40SPEAKER_07: It's kind of like that freaky Friday with you know Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lennis.
- 8:44SPEAKER_07: Right, right.
- 8:45SPEAKER_07: It's trading places with a high school girl and a serial killer.
- 8:49Sean McAllister: This doesn't sound family friendly.
- 8:51SPEAKER_07: It's not family friendly.
- 8:52SPEAKER_07: This is for you know older teenagers or parents, but it's actually very funny.
- 8:56SPEAKER_07: It's now gonna be made available to watch at home.
- 8:58SPEAKER_07: In fact, I think it's available right now.
- 9:00SPEAKER_07: It had only been in theaters before, but it did so well that they're making it available to watch at home.
- 9:05SPEAKER_07: And I recently talked to Vince Vaughn, who by the way loves Vegas baby.
- 9:08SPEAKER_07: Vegas, you know, sweet.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: I ran into him once at MGM Grand.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: I couldn't believe how tall he was.
- 9:13SPEAKER_07: He's a giant.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: I was like, what the?
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: I was waiting for an elevator.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I was like, is that Vince Vaughn?
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: And then I looked up very slowly and kept looking and looking, like, is that Vince Vaughn?
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: Everyone's like, Oh, yeah, he's tall.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I had no idea.
- 9:24SPEAKER_07: Which is even funnier that this big guy has to play a teenage girl.
- 9:28SPEAKER_07: So I asked him about getting in touch with his inner teenager.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: It's a lot of fun to work with Catherine on both of these characters.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: We had a good time kind of building out those characters.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: We laughed a lot, and then um sometimes I show up at Set and Catherine have like a chainsaw and be covered in blood, but she's such an optimistic person.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: It was a strange optics to see her in.
- 9:49SPEAKER_06: I mean, Vince, how many times do you get Vegas baby Vegas Vegas?
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Vegas baby, Vegas.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: I see it on the billboard still still.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: I love Vegas.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: No residuals, but I've always loved that town, and I always I've always enjoyed going.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: So it's a it's nice to be a part of the culture.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: It's always good to hear from uh Vince Vaughn.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: And this is available on video on demand.
- 10:11SPEAKER_07: Yes, you can now, it was just in theaters, but now you can watch it on demand at home.
- 10:15SPEAKER_07: Again, it's not for little kids.
- 10:16SPEAKER_07: Okay, there are some very scary scenes and some adult content, but for older teenagers and for anyone else, it's actually very entertaining.
- 10:24Sean McAllister: Well, hey, we we still need stuff to watch when the kids go to bed, right?
- 10:27SPEAKER_07: That's right, exactly.
- 10:28SPEAKER_07: And they can't all be movie musicals on the show.
- 10:30SPEAKER_07: No, they can't.
- 10:31SPEAKER_07: He does have the little cheer, little dance in there, and that's just worth the price of mission alone.
- 10:35SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: And Vince Vaughn, of course, we know from Wedding Crashers.
- 10:38SPEAKER_07: So good.
- 10:39SPEAKER_07: So good.
- 10:40SPEAKER_07: And then that exciting news that they're gonna do a Wedding Crashers 2, a sequel.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: That's yeah, I mean, that's a big deal because that movie was a hit.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: Now, I must say, I saw that at the North Las Vegas drive-in here in town.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: I know, random, right?
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: Um, because everyone's like, you gotta see it.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: I think I was in a relationship at the time.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: We're like, let's do something different, go to the drive-in.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: Anyway, but because there was so much hype, I don't feel like I loved that movie as much as I should have because everyone just pumped it up so much.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: It was hilarious.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, I could do it with a wedding crashers too, why not?
- 11:11SPEAKER_07: I think it was really you know that's the thing, though.
- 11:12SPEAKER_07: Sometimes when you things are overhyped, they don't live up to that.
- 11:15SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 11:16SPEAKER_07: But I think a sequel, it's been 10 years, and which is funny.
- 11:19SPEAKER_07: I just talked to Jane Seymour, who played Christopher Walken's, you know, wife, you know, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson go to Rachel McAdams' house for this you know weekend.
- 11:28SPEAKER_07: And Jane Seymour has reunited with Christopher Walken for a very family-friendly film called War with Grandpa.
- 11:35SPEAKER_07: Now, this has been out in theaters for a while, but they're just now making it available to watch at home.
- 11:40SPEAKER_07: And I talked to Jane Seymour and her co-star Cheech Marin about this really fun family film.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was so much fun.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: And you know, there's rumors of there being a war with grandpa too, which would be amazing.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: But um, we had such a good time.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and of course, working with Cheech and Chris and uh Wilken and who I'd worked with before, but then Robert De Niro, who I'd never worked with before, um, and being able to play his potential love interest.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: That was fun.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: But I I would say, you know, that when we were all off camera, it was that they should have made a movie about that, about you know, telling our war stories about I won't tell, I won't tell, but you know, we started saying, You worked for so-and-so, yes, you worked for so-and-so, and how was that for you?
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: And you know, there was there was uh it was a wonderful camaraderie on that off-screen.
- 12:30SPEAKER_07: So you can tell they had so much fun making this movie.
- 12:33SPEAKER_07: What was interesting is that Cheech, who comes to Vegas all the time to perform, I mean, you're with Robert De Niro, Christopher Walk, and these masters, but he said some of the younger kids had to Google who they were.
- 12:43Sean McAllister: Well, I was gonna say, younger kids don't even know that Jane Seymour was Dr.
- 12:47Sean McAllister: Quinn Medicine Woman.
- 12:48SPEAKER_07: Oh my god.
- 12:49Sean McAllister: That's where I know her from.
- 12:50Sean McAllister: Like, she needs to be wearing pioneer garb.
- 12:53SPEAKER_07: And by the way, she is turning 70 this year.
- 12:56SPEAKER_07: What?
- 12:57SPEAKER_07: She looks amazing.
- 12:58SPEAKER_07: I was like, Jane, share your secrets because I see that QVC crepe erase thing at night.
- 13:04SPEAKER_07: I would have to buy, she was like, honey, I slather it on.
- 13:06SPEAKER_07: I'm like, I need some crepe erase immediately.
- 13:08SPEAKER_07: She's like, it works.
- 13:10SPEAKER_07: But I mean, she looks amazing.
- 13:11SPEAKER_07: She does.
- 13:12Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 13:13SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 13:14SPEAKER_07: By the way, and also they're this is doing so well.
- 13:17SPEAKER_07: Well with grandpa, and it's totally safe to watch with your kids, your grandparents, everything.
- 13:21SPEAKER_07: They're thinking about doing a sequel for that.
- 13:23SPEAKER_07: But I had to, of course, having Jane Seymour there, had to ask about the wedding crashers sequel.
- 13:28SPEAKER_07: She said she hasn't got the call yet, which I'm sure she will, but she'd be thrilled to go back because remember she had that famous iconic line with Owen Wilson.
- 13:37SPEAKER_07: How many times do people come up to you and have me do that line?
- 13:40SPEAKER_07: What is your name?
- 13:41SPEAKER_07: Call me.
- 13:41SPEAKER_07: What is it?
- 13:42Sean McAllister: Kitty Cat.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: Call me the Kitty Cat.
- 13:49Sean McAllister: Like Jane Seymour still got it.
- 13:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah, she does.
- 13:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah, she does.
- 13:55SPEAKER_07: So lots of fun stuff, but that's a totally safe one to watch with families.
- 13:58SPEAKER_07: War with grandpa.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: I know that one of the um releases that has been talked about on d all over social media.
- 14:07Sean McAllister: It's something that that Dane and I have talked about, is the undoing on HBO Max with Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: Just an incredible, suspenseful drama.
- 14:20SPEAKER_07: I mean, so good.
- 14:21SPEAKER_07: So good.
- 14:22SPEAKER_07: Such good.
- 14:23SPEAKER_07: I mean, but Nicole Kidman, I mean, she's had this undoing, which is this you know, masterful suspense, and then she's a completely different character in the prom.
- 14:32SPEAKER_07: I think she's gonna get me up for some nominations for both, maybe with you know, Oscars or Emmys.
- 14:36SPEAKER_07: But what a great suspense thriller that I normally feel like I pride myself on figuring out who did it.
- 14:42SPEAKER_07: This one threw me.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: I know, and and maybe we shouldn't say because there's a lot of people who haven't seen the finale, but but but it was well done.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: Well done.
- 14:49Dayna Roselli: And you know, it's one of those things that it it was what, six episodes, so it wasn't too long, it wasn't too short.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: It was just a great but it was interesting.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: We were chatting about Hugh Grant, and you were just saying you saw some some things on Twitter where he's on looking at Twitter and everyone's saying that he looks so much older and this and that, and and he feels like he's being trolled.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, poor Hugh, I thought he looked fantastic.
- 15:10SPEAKER_07: Me too.
- 15:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah, apparently he was excited about the response because it was like with the most watched thing, and people were so, you know, the fans base was huge.
- 15:18SPEAKER_07: So he was looking at how people responded to the finale, and he said he got so depressed because everyone was commenting about how old and haggard he looked.
- 15:26SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, listen, it's not the kid from Notting Hill anymore.
- 15:28SPEAKER_07: It's been like 20 years, all right.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: Listen, I mean, not only, but after we watched the finale, I was here with Sean, and uh he was trending, but he was trending for some good stuff too, like give this guy an Emmy, right?
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: That's what I kept seeing too.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: They're like, just hand the Emmy over.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: Like he did so, you know, so he he was great.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: And then I think I read earlier in the week, too, that he was saying he felt guilty because you know, most people are used to him being that romantic comedy role, and in the undoing, you know, he's well, you at least know he's a philanderer.
- 15:57SPEAKER_07: I mean, let's say that.
- 15:58SPEAKER_07: You know he's not he's a complicated character, right?
- 16:02SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 16:02Sean McAllister: Well, in everybody, just uh the acting in this series, this limited series, whatever whatever it ends up being, just amazing across the board.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: And when you have Donald Sutherland on screen, there's just such a reverence and almost uh a spookiness that he brings to always.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: And you know, there was always at least for me.
- 16:25Sean McAllister: Well, I don't want to get too into the the plot line because we're not a we're not a spoiler part of the card.
- 16:32Sean McAllister: We don't want to spoil it.
- 16:33SPEAKER_07: You know what, by the way, I can I say to my fellow critics and entertainment journalists out there who have been posting about who did it or the finale, come on, don't do that, yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_07: Don't watch everything in real time.
- 16:43SPEAKER_07: They tape things, and if you spoil it, it's just like that's just not fun for me.
- 16:46Sean McAllister: No, no, especially not for these shows that are so well done.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: Like let people enjoy it at their own pace, at their own time, and and just enjoy it for all that it's worth without having all the without giving anything away.
- 17:04SPEAKER_07: No, don't don't steal our joy, which is sitting down, doing nothing, watching TV, and eating or drinking.
- 17:08SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: Don't still mind we have such limited joy, don't we?
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: We can't get to it.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: Sometimes we can't get to it fast enough either.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: You know, you're watching one thing, you gotta switch off, this and that.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: But speaking of Hugh Grant, I was thinking, you know, love actually that's a Christmas movie, right?
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: And it's so many people's favorite movies.
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: It's like my mom's favorite holiday movie.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: I'm not a huge fan of it.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: I don't know why, but I just I didn't love that movie.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: But I'm curious, what are some of your holiday favorites?
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: What's your favorite holiday film, Sean?
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: Ugh like do you have a you know, do you because everyone I notice it it's different for everyone.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: I mean, the Christmas story is always amazing.
- 17:44Sean McAllister: I'm actually looking at a leg lamp.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you have a leg lamp.
- 17:47Sean McAllister: A la the Christmas story.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: By the way, your house is a very good thing.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: I think that's great.
- 17:51Sean McAllister: And I really I know that it's not like a classic Christmas movie, but I like gremlins too.
- 18:01Dayna Roselli: Was it out at Christmas?
- 18:02Sean McAllister: It takes place at Christmas time.
- 18:04Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay, you're right.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 18:06Sean McAllister: And also uh home alone because Kevin McAllister, Sean McAllister, like you know, it's all in the family there.
- 18:13SPEAKER_07: That's for sure.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 18:14SPEAKER_07: It's kind of hard.
- 18:15SPEAKER_07: You know what?
- 18:15SPEAKER_07: I of course, like It's a Wonderful Life, all that, Unimerica, all those classic ones.
- 18:19SPEAKER_07: I actually just love when like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer comes on, a little bit.
- 18:24SPEAKER_07: Those ones that are so like you remind you of childhood that come on every single year without fail.
- 18:29SPEAKER_07: So I know that PBS is airy in like the Charlie Brown specials.
- 18:32SPEAKER_07: So that just makes me feel comforted.
- 18:34SPEAKER_07: Like when you're home and you're just I don't know.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: The uh like Frosty the Snowman.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: Oh yes, when he puts that what is he?
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: Merry Christmas, you know?
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: And yeah, I used to love Frosty.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: Um, I haven't seen it in a while.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Although, you know, speaking of Christmas fair, uh Mariah Carey has a Christmas special coming out on uh Apple TV Plus, but there is a song, I forget which song it is.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: It's a Christmas song, obviously, but she's singing it with Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande.
- 19:06Sean McAllister: And when you get those three together, I don't care what you think about Mariah or Ariana or if you're a Jennifer Hudson fan, those three are amazing.
- 19:18Sean McAllister: And putting them all together, I think, is just gonna be phenomenal.
- 19:23SPEAKER_07: I just remember when Mariah, well, she's had a long ongoing residency at Caesars Palace, but when she first arrived, you know, we go and interview headliners and we're so lucky to kind of introduce them to the Vegas community.
- 19:33SPEAKER_07: And um Sean and myself would take turns sometimes, and they she uh requested Sean.
- 19:38SPEAKER_07: Mariah did, and so she she does it's a good one.
- 19:41SPEAKER_07: She said All I Want for Christmas is Sean McAllister in the interview of the interview because she's like, Sean, Sewnee, she was flirting up the store.
- 19:49SPEAKER_07: And Sean's like, no, she was very professional.
- 19:51SPEAKER_07: I'm like, I know she was professional, but honey, she likes Sean.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: We've got history from her days on American Idol back when I was covering all that.
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: Whatever lands the interview, right?
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: We'll take it.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: Um, just to backtrack real quick, my favorite holiday movie is The Family Stone.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: I don't know if you guys have ever seen it.
- 20:09Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: I love that movie so much.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: What a cast.
- 20:13Dayna Roselli: All sorts of things are going on, all sorts of relationships are happening.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: Sarah Jessica Parker, I think Owen Wilson.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: Is it Owen Wilson or something?
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: No, it's Luke Wilson.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: Luke Wilson.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: And uh, you know, and uh the guy from Coach, why am I blanking on his name?
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: Um Craig Nelson.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: Yes, and um blanking on the main Diane Keaton.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: Diane Keaton.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a great cast.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Did you like that movie?
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: It's such a good movie.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's such a good movie.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: It's my favorite every year.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: I know it's dramatic and can be happy and sad and emotional, but that's what I like.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: It's a little bit of everything.
- 20:44SPEAKER_07: That's a really good one.
- 20:45SPEAKER_07: Oh, you know what's also good is the holiday.
- 20:46SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, that's a camera DS.
- 20:48SPEAKER_07: Oh, a camera DSLIT.
- 20:49Sean McAllister: It's on, I think it's on uh Hulu.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: Might have it.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: I was just law had all his hair then.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: I was just flipping through all of the uh you know, the holiday category programming, and I saw that in there.
- 21:02SPEAKER_07: And Jack Black, but you know, honestly, he's just lovable.
- 21:05SPEAKER_07: He's just Instagram.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: Oh, Jack Black.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's he's yeah, he's a little wild on Instagram and funny.
- 21:14Sean McAllister: And also another Christmas special.
- 21:16Sean McAllister: I know Carrie Underwood is out with a a new Christmas special that coincides with her new Christmas album, and that is on HBO Max.
- 21:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and Dolly's got a new album too, Miss Martin.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: Dolly, she's just keep going and going, pumping stuff out.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: She's got great product and live streams and all sorts of stuff going on.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: She's amazing.
- 21:35Sean McAllister: She really is.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:36SPEAKER_07: We can get her a residency next year, don't you think?
- 21:38SPEAKER_07: She needs joy to the new year.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: She needs to bring she needs a little Vegas in her life for sure.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: I think she will.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: I think that's kind of a good one.
- 21:45Sean McAllister: And we need some Dolly.
- 21:47Dayna Roselli: Definitely.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: We just need something, right?
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: Vegas is um, while we're all sitting here, I mean, you know, it's a different place right now, but um, I don't know.
- 21:56Dayna Roselli: I I just feel like I'm feeling a l a little bit more positive that.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Toward the mid to end of 2021 when we'll be back.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: Uh I know it's gonna take a little longer, but I feel like all the conversations that I'm hearing is that we're inching closer and closer to release planning when we have these summer shows and concerts that we're announcing here in Las Vegas or between Live Nation and AG and all that kind of thing, that they seem very confident that that's gonna happen, which is good.
- 22:21SPEAKER_07: Yes, and I also think too the one thing, the sub-relating that's come out of this very challenging and difficult year is that this is such a community that it really does stick together.
- 22:29SPEAKER_07: And however we can support each other because people have been through it, everyone's been affected somehow.
- 22:34SPEAKER_07: I mean, whether it's ordering online to support local small businesses or you know, it just people are really trying to help each other the best they can because our city and our entertainment community has been so badly affected.
- 22:46SPEAKER_07: I have also been encouraged when I do these movie interviews and talk to some of these actors, and their first question is how is Vegas doing?
- 22:53SPEAKER_07: I'll be the first one to come back and see a show because they want to support you know what we're about.
- 22:58SPEAKER_07: And so I know that the demand is there.
- 23:00SPEAKER_07: Forbes just did an article saying that the number one wish list on Travelers, you know, bucket list is coming back to Vegas.
- 23:07SPEAKER_07: So if we can just keep going safely and going forward, it's like if you build it, they will come.
- 23:12SPEAKER_07: If we keep opening things, I know the demand is there, which is should be hopeful to people out there.
- 23:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, which is what we all want.
- 23:19Sean McAllister: We all want Vegas to be the place where everyone can come and have a great time and see great entertainment and great meals and great shopping and and just do it all.
- 23:28Sean McAllister: So as as soon as we can get back to that, it's going to be amazing.
- 23:32SPEAKER_07: I mean, I might do yoga pants and heels, but you know, I mean, I'll I'll you know, I'll bling it out somehow because it's stressful going out.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, like we're chat chatting about this a little bit, but like to go out and do something, like when you're away from home for a certain amount of time now, it feels like I don't like I feel very attached to my condo, like because I've been there so much that it feels odd to like leave.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: I'm like, oh my god, I've got to get home, you know?
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: Like for what?
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: Why?
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: I'm there all the time.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: But it just is so weird like to get ready and do something and it's it's work, it's pro it's a project.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: But I look forward to doing it more often so that it becomes easier.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: It is a project.
- 24:07SPEAKER_07: Well, I saw you guys a whole day plan the circa opening, by the way.
- 24:10SPEAKER_07: You both looked amazing.
- 24:12SPEAKER_07: Thank you, but it was so interesting.
- 24:13SPEAKER_07: That was the first time, I think, in almost eight months that we've all gone out to a you know, a black tie red carpet event, and of course they did it very safely, but I'm not joking.
- 24:22SPEAKER_07: Every single guy and girl was like, My feet are killing me.
- 24:25SPEAKER_07: I'm like, You've been here 40 minutes.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: You know, but but the heels and I just bought flip-flops and just called it a dinner.
- 24:30SPEAKER_07: I had not watching heels for eight hours, and so I was like, My feet the next morning.
- 24:34SPEAKER_07: We're like, What did we do last night?
- 24:35SPEAKER_07: But it was it was great to go out and see people safely, and they've done a great job.
- 24:38SPEAKER_07: But you know, it it is a different, different world we live in now.
- 24:41Dayna Roselli: It is so different.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Uh Sean and I are heading out to Red Rock tonight.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: We're recording on uh what are we recording on a Thursday uh to go check out Crimson, which is a new um kind of like cocktail experience, Christmassy cocktail experience.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: So we're gonna do uh outdoor seating, hopefully be some heater lamps just to kind of stay safe, but want to pop in and we'll have some pictures of that all over our Instagram and and social media and Twitter and all that kind of thing.
- 25:06Sean McAllister: But hopefully there's gonna be some cheer in a cup to enjoy too.
- 25:10SPEAKER_07: Yes, that's always cute.
- 25:12SPEAKER_07: Sean likes Sean shared a cup in the morning, is the coffee.
- 25:15SPEAKER_07: He's got you know, working together for 14, how long?
- 25:17SPEAKER_07: 14 years old.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: Four uh, 14, 15, yeah.
- 25:19SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 25:20SPEAKER_07: I was like 20 when I started, I think.
- 25:21Sean McAllister: It's crazy, right?
- 25:23Sean McAllister: Me too.
- 25:23SPEAKER_07: Somebody's like, Rachel, you're not on TikTok.
- 25:25SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, I know.
- 25:26SPEAKER_07: I think I'm the only millennial who's not on TikTok.
- 25:29SPEAKER_07: Oh my gosh.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: Even I'm on TikTok and I'm 45.
- 25:31SPEAKER_07: How fucking are they stretching that millennial thing?
- 25:33SPEAKER_07: I'm like, oh I'm a very mature millennial.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, by the way, Vegas Revealed has a TikTok.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: I don't know if anyone knows that, but yes, and you know, we're we're getting a good following going there and lots of questions about the things that we post, and people seem you know interested to learn more about Vegas.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: And so whenever we do anything or go anywhere, we post a little video and little factoid for folks to to catch up.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: So we're at Vegas Revealed on TikTok.
- 26:00SPEAKER_07: I love it.
- 26:00SPEAKER_07: I as soon as I download that app, I'll follow you.
- 26:02SPEAKER_07: We don't dance, but no dancing.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: Well, not on the TikTok, or not on the Vegas Revealed TikTok.
- 26:09SPEAKER_07: Well, you know what?
- 26:09SPEAKER_07: That's my gonna be my that's gonna be my resolution for 2021.
- 26:12SPEAKER_07: Get Dana to dance.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: Yes, we'll do it.
- 26:14SPEAKER_07: We'll do a we'll do a few things.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: I might dance a little on my personal one, possibly, or do some golden girls in depression.
- 26:19SPEAKER_07: Do you think OnlyFans account where you do personal videos too?
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Too funny.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: That's my phrase, my response when I was.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Too funny.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Too funny.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: Hey, can I uh yeah, just Rachel, we've loved having you.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: Anything else you want to talk about about coming out or anything you want people to know in your world that you've been you've been busy and you've been interviewing celebs and still doing all that kind of thing.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: So anything else that sticks out that you want to let the listeners of Vegas Revealed know?
- 26:48SPEAKER_07: It's just been really fun to like, you know what, to stay busy, keep bringing you know entertainment news to people out there, covering what is open, a lot of the charity events, which have been so great, like uh the Tree of Lights, you know, a Festival of Trees and Lights, which was for the Down Syndrome Foundation.
- 27:02SPEAKER_07: We've had to do that virtually this year, but but that's where you can go and support.
- 27:05SPEAKER_07: But yeah, it's been great to still I mean, listen, I don't know when we're gonna travel again to do these in-person interviews, but they've made things so accessible now.
- 27:13SPEAKER_07: So at least the studios have kind of figured out how we can still do these interviews, provide them to people, and um so it's great to keep going and also just report and help people know what shows are opening and and what headliners are doing.
- 27:25SPEAKER_07: And so it's been fun just to kind of keep that going and you know, covering what I love, this town.
- 27:30Sean McAllister: And which streaming platform we need to be subscribing to in order to get all of this content.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: Sometimes if somebody tells me something's good, I'm like, okay, so they say this is good, then I can watch that.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: I try and do like the seven-day trial before I can cancel.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: I'm like, but I gotta like make sure I have five good days to get it all in, which I do.
- 27:48Sean McAllister: You do.
- 27:48Sean McAllister: That has like that takes a good amount of planning, though.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: You have to know what's coming out when your seven-day window expires.
- 27:55Sean McAllister: That's all good.
- 27:56Sean McAllister: Rachel Smith, always great to see you.
- 27:58Sean McAllister: Thank you so much for bringing your expertise and your celebrity interviews.
- 28:03SPEAKER_07: I appreciate it.
- 28:03SPEAKER_07: Happy, happy holidays and happy watching.
- 28:05SPEAKER_07: And again, I want to hear your reaction to prom once you see it.
- 28:08SPEAKER_07: Because for me, for Rachel's reels, I think I'm gonna give it a five out of five, Rachel's reels.
- 28:13SPEAKER_07: Five out of five.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: Not since the Murph movie have we gotten a five out of five.
- 28:22SPEAKER_07: I think we had drinks before we saw that, so that's you know, that could be fun.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: All right, thanks so much, Rachel.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Stay with us to Dana and Sean's tips coming up.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: We want to thank our sponsor, Steep Echo.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: It's a collection of the finest, all-natural olive leaf teas.
- 28:46Sean McAllister: And the best part about that is that it's all natural and caffeine free.
- 28:51Sean McAllister: So now you can sip on that perfect cup of tea at night and not have to worry about staying up all night.
- 28:59Dayna Roselli: And that's exactly what I did.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: The one that I tried recently was called Repose.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 29:05Dayna Roselli: It said it had a natural rose flavor, so I was curious and Sean, it literally tasted like roses, but it was so calming, and I loved just watching some TV and sipping on the tea in bed.
- 29:15Sean McAllister: And I tried the ascent.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: There were hints of vanilla and cinnamon in there.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: It kind of brought me back to when I would drink tea with my grandparents as a kid.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 29:25Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: It's time to think about the holidays.

- 30:19Dayna Roselli: And I wanted to give them a little shout-out in tips.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: How about it?
- 30:22Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: Should we start with Rob in Atlanta?
- 30:26Sean McAllister: We know, Rob, you have rallied the troops.
- 30:29Sean McAllister: You have turned us into you've turned Atlanta pretty much into our biggest podcast listening market.
- 30:37Sean McAllister: There are so many people in Atlanta who have listened to Vegas Revealed, and uh we like to say, Rob, that it's because of you.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: Thank you, Rob.
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: We love it.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: And Rob bought some tea, some steep echo tea.
- 30:50Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:51Dayna Roselli: And so I'm excited to see if uh when he gets it, if he likes it and what his review is, but I have a feeling he's gonna love it because it's so good.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: Okay, also want to give a big shout out to Mingo from Las Vegas.
- 31:04Dayna Roselli: Mingo is a loyal listener.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: He's also a friend, and he loves to send me his weekly, you know, two cents on something that we say or do.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: And and we know he loves our theme song.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, Mingo, you're probably humming it in your head right now.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 31:25Sean McAllister: Let's get away.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: Mingo is a riot, uh, great friend through the years, really um just a funny, funny guy, you know.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: And you know, he he lives in downtown Las Vegas and he embraces everything.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: Las Vegas that's downtown.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: We love that he used to own a restaurant called uh Mingo's, which was delicious and amazing, and we're waiting for him to bring that back, we hope.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: But uh yeah, good dedicated listener.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: Mingo, we appreciate you.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: We like all your comments, even though sometimes uh, you know, they're either nice, not so nice, and critical and fun.
- 31:57Sean McAllister: And and Mingo, I hope that we're gonna see you when Donnie Osman starts his residency in August of 2021.
- 32:04Sean McAllister: We'll see you there.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: Also, Rocco in Germany uh is messages us all the time.
- 32:11Sean McAllister: We appreciate Rocco listening overseas, and it's always great to hear from listeners.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we love the details that he always sends a direct message and says what he you know liked about the podcast, and and he's missing Vegas big time.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: I know that he's itching to get back here.
- 32:27Dayna Roselli: And then we have John who is from Illinois, Belleville, Illinois, John Durante, and we want to say thank you, John.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: He he recently told us that we were one of his favorite podcasts, and he follows us on social and we appreciate the listen.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: Hey, and here, shout out to John, just because you know what?
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: You like us, we like you.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: If you want to get John's book, he's the author of a short book on attracting a great life, okay?
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: So you can find that by John Duranti.
- 32:53Sean McAllister: Who doesn't want to attract a great life?
- 32:55Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 32:55Sean McAllister: I mean, great, great topic for a book.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 32:58Sean McAllister: I feel like everyone should get that.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: But uh, I know, it's true.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: It just sounds like a great read, especially right now.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, but for our tips, we did want to get into some of the things happening for the holidays here in Las Vegas, and a lot of them are along the strip, and we know sometimes locals and visitors like to see some of the incredible displays that we have, you know.
- 33:17Dayna Roselli: New York City has Times Square, but we have the entire strip, and some of our favorites are on the list, and one of them is Bellagio.
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, you just can't go wrong with a conservatory.
- 33:28Sean McAllister: It's always so beautiful.
- 33:30Sean McAllister: Every single season they change out the theme of uh the display that's in the conservatory there at the Bellagio, and really resort-wide.
- 33:40Sean McAllister: They they put up some beautiful decorations, but that conservatory is just absolutely stunning.
- 33:48Sean McAllister: All fresh flowers, the the displays that they create are absolutely amazing, and of course, now is a holiday theme.
- 33:56Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: And a short walk away from that, you can just go watch the fountains.
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: And guess what?
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: That's still going strong.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: So remember that.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: And this holiday season, they're having the fountains choreographed holiday classics like Slay Ride and Carol of the Bells just for the holiday season.
- 34:11Dayna Roselli: So that has got to be spectacular as well.
- 34:13Sean McAllister: Still one of my favorite attractions on the Las Vegas strip.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 34:17Dayna Roselli: And the ice rink at the Cosmopolitan is back open.
- 34:19Dayna Roselli: I think a lot of people were wondering is it gonna open?
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: Is it gonna come back?
- 34:22Dayna Roselli: And then they made the announcement, and I think a lot of people are pleased.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: This is a really cool spot kind of on the pool deck, right?
- 34:28Dayna Roselli: Is it the pool deck of the cosmopolitan?
- 34:30Sean McAllister: They build out an ice rink uh over top of the pool, and it's a a real ice rink.
- 34:37Sean McAllister: There are some ice rinks that that you know say they're an ice rink, but it's kind of synthetic ice.
- 34:44Sean McAllister: Uh, the ice rink at the cosmopolitan is real ice, and they have the cutest little Zamboni machine that goes out there and resurfaces uh the ice for for skaters who go out there.
- 34:56Dayna Roselli: And I know that they usually have um s'm'mores kits and those are so good, and then the real fire there, it's kind of like a fire pit that you sit around and you can do your s'more.
- 35:05Dayna Roselli: Oh, it's really good.
- 35:06Dayna Roselli: And they added more and more food through the years, so um, you know, you can go up and get some really unique things up there and have a drink and and make a night of it.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: Don't drink and skate.
- 35:15Dayna Roselli: Well, don't drink too much and skate.
- 35:17Dayna Roselli: Don't drink too much, yes.
- 35:18Sean McAllister: Make sure you can still stand up on those blades.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: Maybe skate, then sit down and have your drinks.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Um, the Link Promenade is going to be all decorated for the holidays as well, so that's really cool.
- 35:28Dayna Roselli: It's right near the hall uh high roller, so you know, some great pictures and it might be good uh to go take a stroll there.
- 35:35Dayna Roselli: We're heading tonight, I mentioned earlier, to Mary Crimson at Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa.
- 35:40Dayna Roselli: That's off the strip toward the Summerlin area near Red Rock Park.
- 35:44Dayna Roselli: And they're having a great pop-up holiday bar, and they have this incredible display of over-the-top holiday decor there that we will talk about more in the future because we're gonna go tonight.
- 35:58Sean McAllister: Right.
- 35:58Sean McAllister: So you'll you'll want to watch our Vegas Revealed uh social media channels.
- 36:03Sean McAllister: We'll put pictures and video up of uh our experience out there at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino.
- 36:10Sean McAllister: Also Samstown, which is off the Las Vegas Strip on Boulder Highway, they have Mystic Falls, which always turns into a holiday, a holiday treat.
- 36:20Sean McAllister: Um the tradition goes back to 1994 when they first uh transformed Mystic Falls into a holiday scene.
- 36:27Sean McAllister: So they're doing that again this year.
- 36:29Sean McAllister: At the Tropicana, down at the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard, they also have a Festival of Lights showcase out on uh the Tropicana Plaza there.
- 36:39Sean McAllister: So they'll have that uh through January 3rd getting into the spirit.
- 36:44Dayna Roselli: I'm glad you mentioned that because I almost forgot the Tropicana was open, you know, again, because it took a while for it to open and then they announced they were, and I thought, you know, and then we kind of went into this things are open and closed mode, and then and then I'm like, wait, the Tropicana is open when I saw this, so they're ready to go.
- 37:00Sean McAllister: The trop is still kicking and ready to celebrate the holidays.
- 37:03Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 37:04Dayna Roselli: Well, the Ethel M Chocolate Factory is an incredible place.
- 37:06Dayna Roselli: Sean and I hosted the Nevada, no, I can't speak today, the Nevada Ballet Theatres Nutcracker special from there.
- 37:14Dayna Roselli: The only thing is you do have to call ahead because there's a limited capacity, and I know they were filling up really quick, but they have an incredible lit-up cactus garden out there that's always spectacular.
- 37:24Sean McAllister: And uh downtown, the Fremont Street Experience is once again uh hosting its annual Christmas tree lighting, and I believe they also have a Grand Menorah down at the Fremont Street Experience, and the Viva Vision Canopy Show is going to be holiday themed, so uh that'll be a good festive place to go as well.
- 37:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then the glittering lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, always amazing.
- 37:49Dayna Roselli: It's it's actually in its 20th season, goes through Sunday, January 10th, and you drive through, so that's really cool and perfect for what's happening out there with the virus for folks to socially distance to be able to drive through the glittering lights, is a plus.
- 38:04Sean McAllister: And I think that's one of those attractions where you tune into a radio station and you have the the holiday songs as you drive through uh this light display.
- 38:15Sean McAllister: So it that is a really unique um way to celebrate the season with the family.
- 38:21Dayna Roselli: Definitely.
- 38:21Dayna Roselli: And the forum shops at Caesars Palace.
- 38:23Dayna Roselli: I did see the Christmas tree posted that on our social media as well.
- 38:26Dayna Roselli: Pretty spectacular.
- 38:27Dayna Roselli: It's kind of in that area that's in the round that connects the beginning of the shops to the kind of addition of the shops, and it's you know, in it's this big area, and the tree sits right in the middle, really, really pretty as well.
- 38:38Sean McAllister: It is, and it there's a rotunda, it's a big dome ceiling.
- 38:41Sean McAllister: That's the word rotunda.
- 38:43Sean McAllister: And that is one of those places where if you are standing in the correct spot, you can hear somebody's conversation from the other side of the room, and it's a big area, so keep that in mind.
- 38:56Sean McAllister: Somebody on the other side can hear you crystal clear.
- 39:01Sean McAllister: I I uh and I did you test it out?
- 39:04Sean McAllister: No, well, I specifically remember this because last year we were over at uh the forum shops at holiday time, and we stopped to um take some pictures and video the tree over there, and I remember hearing it sounded like somebody was standing right next to me, but I knew that there was nobody there, and I looked up and I was like, Oh, it must be the sound that's uh bouncing back because of the domed ceiling.
- 39:29Dayna Roselli: And sure enough, no, there you have it, right?
- 39:32Dayna Roselli: Don't talk about it.
- 39:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, mind your manners, that's for sure.
- 39:36Dayna Roselli: Uh, that's a pretty good list for a time right now where you know we are at limited capacity and and all that.
- 39:44Dayna Roselli: Uh everyone's trying to do their best to lift everyone's spirits.
- 39:47Dayna Roselli: And I love that all these properties that usually do this stuff are continuing to do it.
- 39:52Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 39:53Dayna Roselli: They're just like, we're putting it up anyway, and come.
- 39:56Dayna Roselli: And even if you can just get out there and take a stroll, you know.
- 40:00Dayna Roselli: Maybe you don't have the money right now to go, you know, have a big Christmas or go out to eat and you're trying to save your money, but you can walk through and see these displays and be reminded of what Las Vegas is all about.
- 40:11Sean McAllister: And the decorations really do lift your spirits.
- 40:14Sean McAllister: So if you have the chance, have the opportunity, definitely get out and see them.
- 40:18Sean McAllister: I'm sure that they will bring a smile to your face.
- 40:21Sean McAllister: And hey, you know what we mentioned?
- 40:23Sean McAllister: What we haven't mentioned is that all of these are free.
- 40:26Sean McAllister: It's free to go and and look at all this stuff.
- 40:28Sean McAllister: So enjoy the season, head out, look at the decorations that are put up just for you to enjoy.
