- 0:01Speaker 1: Why on Sky News. This is Sharry.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Good Evening, and it is such a privilege to join
- 0:11Speaker 2: you on this special historic day. We're standing by to
- 0:14Speaker 2: take you live to the Israeli Parliament where President Trump
- 0:17Speaker 2: and Prime Minister Netanyaho will speak.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Trump will be the fourth.
- 0:22Speaker 2: American president to address the Knesset. It comes after the emotional,
- 0:27Speaker 2: heart wrenching site of all twenty hostages, all twenty returning
- 0:33Speaker 2: home this evening our time, after two years of hell,
- 0:38Speaker 2: of utter atrocities in the terror tunnels. Tonight we can
- 0:43Speaker 2: say with JOI there are no more living hostages in Gaza,
- 0:49Speaker 2: and our men to that. And this is thanks entirely
- 0:52Speaker 2: to America and Israel, with no help from the rest
- 0:56Speaker 2: of the world. These are the twenty hostages who are
- 1:00Speaker 2: now home in Israel, receiving medical treatment in hospitals, having
- 1:05Speaker 2: long awaited beautiful emotional reunions with their loved ones. And
- 1:11Speaker 2: here's Ron Braslowski, just twenty one years old. This is
- 1:15Speaker 2: him on the left before he went in to captivity
- 1:19Speaker 2: and on the right with the Hamas terrorist in the background.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You can see him just how emaciated he looks. We've
- 1:27Speaker 2: seen propaganda footage before of him writhing in pain. And
- 1:32Speaker 2: here is Alon Ohel heartwarming images as well, photos of
- 1:37Speaker 2: twin brothers, Ziv and Gully Berman embracing for the first
- 1:42Speaker 2: time in two years. They were both held hostage but
- 1:48Speaker 2: apparently did not see each other. Really beautiful vision to see.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And here were some of the incredible moments when families
- 1:57Speaker 2: of the hostages were able to speak to them for
- 2:01Speaker 2: the first time over the phone or saw them on
- 2:04Speaker 2: the television. The elation, the sheer joy, unadulterated in Israel
- 2:46Speaker 2: tonight is palpable. This was the incredible moment the Hostage
- 2:51Speaker 2: Square that is now being called the Freed Square, when
- 2:55Speaker 2: the id F announced the hostages were finally coming home
- 3:04Speaker 2: by a time.
- 3:05Speaker 3: She Now how about this?
- 3:13Speaker 2: Here was father of two, Omri Miran, speaking to his
- 3:17Speaker 2: wife for the first time in two years. His two
- 3:22Speaker 2: beautiful daughters are desperate to see their father, and we're expecting.
- 3:27Speaker 3: That beautiful reunion in a moment.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Now, as I said, we're standing by for the president
- 3:32Speaker 2: to speak at the Israeli Parliament. He arrived at around
- 3:36Speaker 2: five point thirty pm our time in Israel. He was
- 3:39Speaker 2: greeted on the tarmac on a red carpet that was
- 3:42Speaker 2: rolled out. He was greeted by Israeli President Isaac Kurtzog
- 3:46Speaker 2: and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nette and Yahoo. His plane
- 3:50Speaker 2: was some time late, so he is now on delay.
- 3:54Speaker 2: We were meant to already bring you his speech. He
- 3:56Speaker 2: then traveled to the Israeli Knesset, where he had a
- 3:59Speaker 2: meeting with an Yatayaho. One of the outcomes of that
- 4:02Speaker 2: meeting is that Natiyah who will be traveling to Egypt
- 4:07Speaker 2: tomorrow for Trump's peace summit. So this summit initially didn't
- 4:11Speaker 2: include Israel, it now does. That's a significant development. Another
- 4:16Speaker 2: outcome as well is that Trump has committed to bring
- 4:22Speaker 2: continue to work with Israel to ensure that Hermas does
- 4:26Speaker 2: not have a lasting role, an ongoing role in Gaza.
- 4:31Speaker 3: This is a key sticking point from Netti Yahu.
- 4:34Speaker 2: We saw the presidents sign a book saying what a
- 4:37Speaker 2: beautiful and great day this is. At the Israeli Knesset,
- 4:40Speaker 2: he also met with some family members of hostages and
- 4:44Speaker 2: we're waiting to take you live for his address.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Now.
- 4:47Speaker 2: There's also been a development that after he speaks in
- 4:50Speaker 2: a joint address with Natiyahu at the Knesset, we do
- 4:53Speaker 2: expect that Trump will travel to a hospital in Tel
- 4:57Speaker 2: Aviv to meet with some of the hostages who were
- 5:00Speaker 2: freed today. It's going to be an incredible meeting and
- 5:04Speaker 2: no doubt they will be thanking him for their release.
- 5:08Speaker 3: As a lot of israel Is.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Tonight, they're incredibly grateful to President Trump, and let's pray
- 5:15Speaker 2: we are now nearing the end of.
- 5:17Speaker 3: This two year war.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But even with the personality force of President Trump, stopping
- 5:24Speaker 2: ongoing terrorism and radicalization in the West Bank and in
- 5:28Speaker 2: Gaza will be a near impossible challenge. The release of
- 5:34Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty Palestinian prisoners, some murderous terrorists among them,
- 5:40Speaker 2: will add to this problem, and they have been truly
- 5:43Speaker 2: shocking scenes in Gaza over the past seventy two hours.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Masked men armed with guns have been patrolling Gaza streets.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Har Maas made an announcement that its security forces had
- 5:56Speaker 2: redeployed across the strip, so they've emerged from hiding in
- 6:00Speaker 2: the tunnels, and there's been reports of fighting and violent
- 6:05Speaker 2: clashes between rival factions. One Hamas influencer on social media,
- 6:11Speaker 2: who posed as a journalist and a doctor, was also
- 6:14Speaker 2: reportedly shot and killed during this ceasefire period, so the
- 6:20Speaker 2: bloodshed hasn't ended. Life is not better for Palestinians. And
- 6:26Speaker 2: it's not like Hamas and the other terrorists that suddenly
- 6:28Speaker 2: going to accept peace. After Israelian Hamas negotiators had signed
- 6:34Speaker 2: the deal in Egypt, but before the ceasefire took effect.
- 6:38Speaker 2: On Thursday afternoon, an Israeli soldier was killed by a
- 6:42Speaker 2: Hamas sniper in Gaza City, just twenty six years old,
- 6:47Speaker 2: after the deal had been signed. The trauma throughout Israel
- 6:51Speaker 2: will be ongoing, but tonight is one for celebration the
- 6:56Speaker 2: return of all twenty remaining living hostages. This is a
- 7:01Speaker 2: night for joy and such an honor to be on
- 7:04Speaker 2: air during this period. Let's cross live now to Israel,
- 7:08Speaker 2: where I'm joined by farmer idf spokesperson and senior fellow
- 7:12Speaker 2: at FDD, Jonathan Conricus.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Jonathan, good to see you as always.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Now this has been the most incredible morning for Israelis.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Can you tell us some of what the sentiment is
- 7:23Speaker 2: like on the ground.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Well, good evening to you. It's magic. It's I think
- 7:32Speaker 5: two years of suffering, of hardship, of frustration, of sorrow
- 7:36Speaker 5: and grief. Finally there's a collective moment to sigh, to joy,
- 7:42Speaker 5: to cry, to laugh. And finally, twenty, our last twenty
- 7:48Speaker 5: live hostages are finally home in Israel, which is a
- 7:52Speaker 5: major milestone when it comes to the war between Israel
- 7:56Speaker 5: and Hamas that is now a strategic difference. No more
- 8:01Speaker 5: will Haramas have that leverage over Israeli decision makers, No
- 8:05Speaker 5: more will they be able to manipulate Israeli crowds and
- 8:09Speaker 5: to torment Israeli families with videos of emaciated hostages suffering
- 8:15Speaker 5: or digging their own graves or saying whatever written statement
- 8:20Speaker 5: that they've been told. Now is a different situation and
- 8:24Speaker 5: Haramas has been forced to hand over their most important asset.
- 8:28Speaker 5: So it's a very important day, very important cease fire.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I wouldn't call it a peace deal. I wouldn't call
- 8:35Speaker 5: it a peace deal because we're not really there yet.
- 8:38Speaker 5: If everything in the Trump plan is indeed implemented, then
- 8:43Speaker 5: there's a good chance that this will lead to peace.
- 8:45Speaker 5: But currently it's a ceasefire, and we got our live
- 8:48Speaker 5: hostages back and they're working on getting the bodies of
- 8:51Speaker 5: the murdered ones.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And just on that point, Jonathan, let's bring in now
- 8:56Speaker 2: we're joined as well by a deputy Foreign Minister in Israel,
- 9:00Speaker 2: Scharen has Goo. Sharen, let's bring you into our coverage tonight. Now,
- 9:04Speaker 2: of course, you're that the President Trump starts speaking to
- 9:08Speaker 2: the can Asset. Can you tell us a bit about
- 9:12Speaker 2: what these talks have been like between Trump and Nadinya Who,
- 9:18Speaker 2: the fact that Nadinya Who will now be attending this
- 9:21Speaker 2: peace summit in Egypt tomorrow.
- 9:23Speaker 6: Personally, I think it's just a testament for the very
- 9:27Speaker 6: close relationship between Trump and Etanio. These are two leaders
- 9:31Speaker 6: that have stood against an immense force of pressure internationally economically,
- 9:38Speaker 6: but they stood up by what's right.
- 9:41Speaker 1: They are on the right side of history.
- 9:43Speaker 6: And that closestness as friends is a testament for the
- 9:47Speaker 6: close relationship between is the and between the United States.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I do apologize also in advance. I'm near at the
- 9:55Speaker 6: General Assembly. We are waiting for President Trump to come in.
- 10:00Speaker 6: Happy old parliament members and many dignitaries who are here.
- 10:04Speaker 6: We've been waiting for quite a while, and so as
- 10:06Speaker 6: soon as President Trump will come in, I will have.
- 10:10Speaker 1: To finish the interviews.
- 10:12Speaker 2: No, of course, so I might just stick with you
- 10:14Speaker 2: for a moment. Then Sharan before we go back to you, Jonathan. So, Scharen,
- 10:19Speaker 2: you know the hostages obviously have been released this morning.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Can you tell us what you know about the condition,
- 10:26Speaker 2: their medical condition but also their mental state.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Well, this is going to take quite a while to
- 10:34Speaker 1: actually assist.
- 10:35Speaker 6: We know from other hostages that we turn back, you know,
- 10:40Speaker 6: recovering from such a tragedy, from two years of torture, physically, emotionally, sexually,
- 10:49Speaker 6: being starved, being really i mean the verge of death, injured,
- 10:55Speaker 6: with such pain and suffering. Many of them, it will
- 10:59Speaker 6: take years for recovery. It's not an entire life. The
- 11:03Speaker 6: post traumatic stress that they would endure from something like
- 11:07Speaker 6: that is immense. And we know from other hostages who
- 11:11Speaker 6: came back, some of them after a few months, some
- 11:13Speaker 6: of them only a year. You know, we're talking about
- 11:16Speaker 6: two years that are already in a position where we
- 11:19Speaker 6: know the recovery process is going.
- 11:21Speaker 1: To be extremely, extremely long. Our heart is with their family.
- 11:26Speaker 6: We will try to give them as much privacy as
- 11:29Speaker 6: possible to start that recovery process, and we need to
- 11:32Speaker 6: respect their privacy too. But our entire nation is just celebrating.
- 11:38Speaker 6: We really feel like we can finally voice.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You know I have to say we share that here
- 11:44Speaker 2: in Australia, Sharan. Now we're looking on screen at some
- 11:47Speaker 2: of these beautiful images released by the IDF in the
- 11:51Speaker 2: past hour of the first set of seven hostages who
- 11:56Speaker 2: were released, and you could just see the joy on
- 11:58Speaker 2: their faces to be or in daylight, in the arms
- 12:03Speaker 2: in the care of the IDF after two years, Sharen,
- 12:08Speaker 2: this was a difficult negotiation. But I want to ask
- 12:11Speaker 2: you one other thing, Charan. The narrative that's taking hold
- 12:15Speaker 2: around the world is that Trump forced Netanyahu's hand on this.
- 12:19Speaker 3: That's not true, is it.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Absolutely not, Sharry. For a few months now, Ron Dermer,
- 12:27Speaker 6: which is Nataniao's envoy, has been discussing, negotiating and working
- 12:32Speaker 6: together on building this plan. It's important to understand this
- 12:38Speaker 6: plan will achieved the goals of the war for a
- 12:41Speaker 6: diplomatic path. Israel always will choose a diplomatic path whenever
- 12:47Speaker 6: we can reach it. Those goals were straight from the start.
- 12:50Speaker 6: It's the return of all the hostages and the disarmament
- 12:53Speaker 6: of Ramas. The fact that President Trump was involved to
- 12:58Speaker 6: put that these plans table, when not just Israel has
- 13:03Speaker 6: accepted it fully, not one stage two, stage but fully
- 13:07Speaker 6: the entire peace plan. The Arab country has completely accepted it.
- 13:12Speaker 6: That's including Jordan and Egypt, and Qatar and Turkey.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Even the Palestinian authority have accepted in.
- 13:21Speaker 6: It shows you that there's an international consensus, specifically about
- 13:26Speaker 6: the second stage of the plan that talks about that.
- 13:28Speaker 1: It's on the Karmas and the Krammas.
- 13:30Speaker 6: Cannot have any future role, not from a literary perspective
- 13:34Speaker 6: and not from a civilian perspective. Unfortunately, though, we're not
- 13:38Speaker 6: talking to rational leadership or sensible government. This is a
- 13:42Speaker 6: terrorist organization, people who value death. It's a difficult that
- 13:47Speaker 6: value death more than anything. They don't want peace and
- 13:50Speaker 6: co existence. They have indoctrinated an entire population in Gaza
- 13:54Speaker 6: for twenty years, radicalizing, teaching them a radical Islam, hatred, violence, murder.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Trump in his plan speaks about the important issue, not
- 14:05Speaker 6: about a slogan, not about a bureaucratic process, not an
- 14:09Speaker 6: obsession of a two state solution. He speaks about education,
- 14:12Speaker 6: he speaks about an autonomy. He speaks about sage paths
- 14:16Speaker 6: on how Israeli the Palaestinians might be able to live
- 14:20Speaker 6: side by side in the future.
- 14:22Speaker 3: But that's the difficult thing.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And let's bring in Jonathan back in now, I mean
- 14:26Speaker 2: Jonathan knowing about how deeply ingrained this ideology is not
- 14:32Speaker 2: among all Palestinians, of course not, but among her mus
- 14:35Speaker 2: and her Musk supporters. Then how does even Trump's peace
- 14:40Speaker 2: plan break that? You know, how do you stop the
- 14:43Speaker 2: next generation of terrorists from wanting to wage war on Israel?
- 14:49Speaker 5: Yeah, when you look at you know, when you want
- 14:52Speaker 5: to affect meaningful, long term change, then of course you
- 14:56Speaker 5: have to look at institutions and mindset, and you have
- 14:58Speaker 5: to look at education and religious services. And Gaza is
- 15:03Speaker 5: a society that has been under the oppression of several organizations,
- 15:09Speaker 5: specifically Hamas. But there's another organization which I think is
- 15:14Speaker 5: familiar to Australians, but it's familiar in the wrong way,
- 15:18Speaker 5: and Australians probably think good things of it, when in
- 15:21Speaker 5: fact it is a very negative influence. And that organization
- 15:24Speaker 5: is the UN Relief and Works Agency. Now Australians will
- 15:29Speaker 5: hear this and say, well, the UN that's probably the
- 15:32Speaker 5: forces of good right handing out aid and helping civilians
- 15:36Speaker 5: and whatever. Will actually know that organization is in charge
- 15:40Speaker 5: of about eighty five ninety percent of the education in
- 15:44Speaker 5: the Gaza strip and they have been poisoning the minds
- 15:47Speaker 5: of Gazans for generations. They're the ones who have been
- 15:51Speaker 5: brainwashing Palestinian children to believe that martyrdom is a sweet
- 15:56Speaker 5: death and that to die as a Mujahad, as a
- 16:00Speaker 5: holy warrior on quest to annihilate the Jews is a
- 16:04Speaker 5: benign thing. When Deputy Minister Askelle speaks about a death cult,
- 16:10Speaker 5: that is what UNRA schools, funded amongst other things, with
- 16:14Speaker 5: Australian taxpayer money, is educating Palestinians to do so. If
- 16:19Speaker 5: we want a different Gaza in the future, in the
- 16:23Speaker 5: next years, if you want a different trajectory for the region,
- 16:26Speaker 5: then we have to address the rampant anti Semitism, Israel
- 16:30Speaker 5: hatred and Jihadi in doctrination in you and schools. If
- 16:34Speaker 5: you ask me, UNRA needs to be dismantled. It needs
- 16:37Speaker 5: to be abolished and really cast aside, and only then
- 16:41Speaker 5: can we speak about a different future for Gaza.
- 16:45Speaker 2: It looks like we're moments away from Trump speaking in
- 16:49Speaker 2: the Knesset, but charranges before we let you go to
- 16:52Speaker 2: watch that speech, and will of course be bringing it
- 16:55Speaker 2: live as well.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I just want to ask you about how Donald Trump
- 16:58Speaker 3: is being received is trial tonight.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Wow, Donald Trump is being received very warmly. Uh, Israel
- 17:08Speaker 6: never had a better friend than President Trump. He's been
- 17:12Speaker 6: supporting us along even before he was into office. He
- 17:17Speaker 6: was sworn into the office, and that's extremely meaningful. He's
- 17:21Speaker 6: one of the few leaders, and there were a few
- 17:24Speaker 6: of them, but he was leading.
- 17:28Speaker 7: That.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Knew that only.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Through pressuring fromas withstanding an international trend and standing beside
- 17:37Speaker 6: morality and everything, that's what's going to pressure from us
- 17:42Speaker 6: for a cease fowl.
- 17:43Speaker 7: We did work this with Vala, I did this with Iran,
- 17:47Speaker 7: and he's doing this again now with the current peace
- 17:53Speaker 7: Sabrinina is being put on the table. Sure, and just
- 17:56Speaker 7: into writing cases Ivanta Trump and Pushner coming in.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I was just going to say, can you tell us
- 18:03Speaker 2: who's walking in now?
- 18:04Speaker 3: What's happening?
- 18:06Speaker 6: So there's this Evanta Trump from Jared Pushner with Bob
- 18:09Speaker 6: just there on the balcony.
- 18:10Speaker 1: You can see them. They have been a vital.
- 18:14Speaker 6: Part there, building it, planning it, pushing it. They are
- 18:20Speaker 6: true friends of the people of Israel, of the State
- 18:23Speaker 6: of Israel. We are so fortunate to have such good
- 18:26Speaker 6: friends in the White House. They're standing there and they're
- 18:29Speaker 6: about to come and sit down, and I guess this
- 18:32Speaker 6: is a time where President Trump, now he's going to
- 18:34Speaker 6: come in as well.
- 18:36Speaker 2: We're not just stay stay we see until he walks in.
- 18:39Speaker 2: And of course they had a standing ovation. We can
- 18:41Speaker 2: see that their Ivanka, Oh yeah, Jared Kushner, Jared, as
- 18:46Speaker 2: you say, it has been so central to that deal,
- 18:48Speaker 2: a standing ovation in the Israeli parliament for them and
- 18:51Speaker 2: for the role that Jared in particularly played in bringing
- 18:56Speaker 2: together the Arab nations to put pressure on her must
- 19:00Speaker 2: release the hostages that has brought the world so much
- 19:03Speaker 2: joy today and to sign to commit to this peace deal.
- 19:07Speaker 3: So now we expect.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Nadi, Yahoo and Trump are moments away. Can you tell
- 19:13Speaker 2: us We can see Pete Hagseth there, the Defense Secretary,
- 19:16Speaker 2: Secretary of State as well Marco Rubio, And can you
- 19:20Speaker 2: tell us who else is in the room tonight?
- 19:23Speaker 6: From your there's many, many ambassadors, many politicians from you know,
- 19:29Speaker 6: people who have supported us throughout the time. You know,
- 19:35Speaker 6: people from mainly from the United States, but also from
- 19:37Speaker 6: England and other countries who have supported the people here
- 19:40Speaker 6: in Israel. In the last two years. This have been
- 19:43Speaker 6: such difficult years for us. I mean, we are a
- 19:48Speaker 6: broken hearted nation and I think that this day, starting now,
- 19:52Speaker 6: we can start a recovery process.
- 19:54Speaker 1: We feel like we can really start bringing And you can.
- 19:57Speaker 6: See the people who have supported us through the last
- 20:00Speaker 6: years here and the terrorists coming to see this historicment
- 20:05Speaker 6: of President Rump. You see the ministers, you see Whitcock,
- 20:11Speaker 6: you see Vanka Trump, and it's a great historical moment.
- 20:15Speaker 6: You know, a very few moments like that. And the
- 20:19Speaker 6: ring is that when we see just one last thing,
- 20:23Speaker 6: isn't that Cause when he speaks about a piece, he
- 20:25Speaker 6: doesn't just speak of signing of your own agreement, but
- 20:28Speaker 6: as the Anatan Conrico said before, he speaks about a
- 20:32Speaker 6: long term process on our Israelis and Palestine and you'll
- 20:35Speaker 6: be able to live side by side. He speaks about
- 20:38Speaker 6: the education system, about about building parallel system right now
- 20:43Speaker 6: and autocrat ruling government civilianly in Gaza. Those are the
- 20:48Speaker 6: things we have to discuss.
- 20:50Speaker 1: He's got on.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Sharan, I can't thank you enough for not only
- 20:55Speaker 2: being the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel, but our
- 20:58Speaker 2: portter on the scene this evening.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Jonathan and Scharan will leave it there with you.
- 21:02Speaker 2: We're going to keep the image of the Israeli Parliament
- 21:05Speaker 2: in the corner of our screen. And while we're waiting
- 21:07Speaker 2: for Trump's speech, let's bring it now. The Shadow Attorney
- 21:10Speaker 2: General Julian Lisa, Julian, what a big day. How do
- 21:15Speaker 2: you feel today after two years of fighting, of trying
- 21:19Speaker 2: to raise awareness for the hostages and then the hatred
- 21:22Speaker 2: back here.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Well, look, there is such a wonderful sense of joy
- 21:28Speaker 4: and relief. You know as you see some of the
- 21:31Speaker 4: pictures of the families being reunited with the hostages, or
- 21:34Speaker 4: seeing images of the hostages that are living and that
- 21:38Speaker 4: have been released. It's a day that I think so
- 21:41Speaker 4: many people have hoped for. I know as I've talked
- 21:43Speaker 4: to people across the Jewish community across Australia today, everybody's
- 21:47Speaker 4: been glued to their TV sets to watch this and
- 21:50Speaker 4: I think so often when we talk about the hostages,
- 21:52Speaker 4: they're just a number. One of the things I did
- 21:54Speaker 4: in the Parliament last week was to share some of
- 21:56Speaker 4: the stories of Evtar David, who people will remember looked
- 22:00Speaker 4: like a survivor of bergen Belsen, forced to dig his
- 22:03Speaker 4: own grave in a tunnel. I mean, he was a
- 22:05Speaker 4: bloke who was at the Nova Music Festival because like
- 22:08Speaker 4: most twenty four year olds, he just liked to party.
- 22:10Speaker 4: There's the Berman twins who love each other so much
- 22:13Speaker 4: and who just love playing soccer and love their town
- 22:16Speaker 4: of Kafarza. There's people like Max Herkin, who's got a
- 22:19Speaker 4: little daughter in Russia that I know he'll be so
- 22:23Speaker 4: looking forward to seeing. They're just some of the of
- 22:26Speaker 4: the hostages who've been released today. And of course we
- 22:29Speaker 4: still have to remember that there are hostages who haven't
- 22:33Speaker 4: made it through and we want to see their bodies
- 22:35Speaker 4: returned and reunited with their families. And we think of
- 22:38Speaker 4: the families that are missing out and missing their loved
- 22:40Speaker 4: ones tonight.
- 22:42Speaker 2: And some of those coffins are carrying the dead bodies
- 22:46Speaker 2: of hostages will be coming home this afternoon. But there
- 22:49Speaker 2: are some others that the terror groups say they're unable
- 22:53Speaker 2: to locate, and Israel has given the commitment to the
- 22:56Speaker 2: families that they won't rest until they bring their remains
- 23:00Speaker 2: home because the families need closure.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Juliana, I also want to ask you.
- 23:04Speaker 2: We've seen over the past few days the Prime Minister
- 23:07Speaker 2: and the Foreign Minister Albanesi and Penny Wong trying to
- 23:11Speaker 2: claim some credit for creating a momentum towards this. Josh
- 23:16Speaker 2: Frodenberg rightly called this out in The Australian on the weekend.
- 23:19Speaker 4: What's your view, Cherry. I wish I could give the
- 23:22Speaker 4: Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Australia credit for this,
- 23:26Speaker 4: but they've made all the wrong calls when it comes
- 23:28Speaker 4: to the Middle East. I'm ashamed of what they've done
- 23:31Speaker 4: in the last two years, deserting our friend, our ally
- 23:35Speaker 4: security partner, Israel. It's time of need the only democracy
- 23:38Speaker 4: in the Middle East. Whether it's votes at the United Nations,
- 23:42Speaker 4: whether it's the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, whether
- 23:46Speaker 4: it's changing the capital of Israel. They've got absolutely everything wrong.
- 23:50Speaker 4: And we could have been so influential in this process.
- 23:52Speaker 4: We could have played a part alongside America, which we've
- 23:56Speaker 4: traditionally done in this place. But we've taken an opportunit
- 24:00Speaker 4: unity to miss an opportunity because.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Julian we might just pause there because it looks like
- 24:05Speaker 2: the President of the United States might be walking into
- 24:08Speaker 2: the Knesset. Yes he is, President Donald Trump, and then
- 24:12Speaker 2: we can see Isaac Hertzog, the Israeli president, giving him
- 24:15Speaker 2: a round of applause. So President Trump is walking into
- 24:18Speaker 2: the Israeli Parliament set to deliver his remarks to the
- 24:24Speaker 2: world to Israel. The moment he starts speaking, we will
- 24:29Speaker 2: take that live. So we might take that right now.
- 24:38Speaker 2: So as you can see there, he's getting a standing ovation,
- 24:41Speaker 2: as he should from all the members of parliament in Israel.
- 24:46Speaker 2: So much gratitude to Donald Trump for all that he
- 24:49Speaker 2: has delivered, for the hostages he has brought home today,
- 24:53Speaker 2: all twenty living hostages.
- 24:56Speaker 3: We're going to listen in now.
- 25:15Speaker 8: Women have order haakness it seva the October pramesh wheneva.
