Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / ITB: What Was Learned From Eagles Second Preseason Game?
Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on everybody? It's
- 0:14Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan and we are two preseason
- 0:18Speaker 1: games down, one to go. That'll be this upcoming weekend
- 0:21Speaker 1: against the Bengals, and then that's it for the Eagles.
- 0:24Speaker 1: It'll be a lot of roster decisions after that, and
- 0:27Speaker 1: of course we get into the regular season. But Adam,
- 0:29Speaker 1: the Eagles did play Saturday night, their second preseason game
- 0:34Speaker 1: against the Patriots. We were looking for some things more conceptually,
- 0:39Speaker 1: a little bit individually too. I think we saw some
- 0:41Speaker 1: good things we can talk about obviously some things that
- 0:43Speaker 1: aren't great, but again it's the preseason. But I want
- 0:46Speaker 1: to start just offense, you know, because one thing we
- 0:48Speaker 1: said conceptually is you just want to see some getting
- 0:53Speaker 1: to line of scrimmage, getting play calls. And then this
- 0:55Speaker 1: Sean Manyon offense start to look like a Sewan Manyon offense,
- 0:59Speaker 1: which we didn't really get chance see in the first
- 1:01Speaker 1: game because they had so few reps. But I thought,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and getting your viewpoint on it, that we saw it.
- 1:07Speaker 1: We saw the under center, We saw the bootlegs, the
- 1:09Speaker 1: play actions, the easy I don't want to call them layups,
- 1:12Speaker 1: but you know those those schemed open type of plays
- 1:16Speaker 1: there that were there to be made.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yeah, the cross or to Cooper from the key was
- 1:21Speaker 2: was exactly what we're looking for.
- 1:22Speaker 3: That's a West Coast crosser.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sure every every offense has it, but
- 1:26Speaker 2: specifically West Coast. That's the timing route. That was really good.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Running game was fantastic. Shipley's had a Shipley had a
- 1:33Speaker 2: great week off. He fits this offense well. Man the
- 1:38Speaker 2: last two weeks is really he's really come on mostly
- 1:41Speaker 2: on outside zone.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:43Speaker 2: That that whether it's a toss right or a handoff
- 1:47Speaker 2: and he goes outside and the line goes with them.
- 1:51Speaker 2: It's a beautiful things he's got. He's he's got a
- 1:53Speaker 2: great explosion. And this he added. If you watch the
- 1:58Speaker 2: game closely, you saw the inside run. Okay, nice run.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Also had one up the middle.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I noticed mm hmm.
- 2:07Speaker 2: On Wednesday because they ran the really well Wednesday, and
- 2:11Speaker 2: I was like, wow, he does you really do that?
- 2:13Speaker 2: In fact, that's he's not gonna knock on him from
- 2:15Speaker 2: scouting standpoint is lack of lower body strength.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Well, we saw it.
- 2:19Speaker 2: So he's really coming on this outside zone. Thinks for real,
- 2:23Speaker 2: I think they're all going to do well. That Bigsby's
- 2:24Speaker 2: been big. Spy's clearly too. There's no competition for it.
- 2:28Speaker 2: But you know, he had this little toe injury, so
- 2:31Speaker 2: he didn't he didn't have to. He didn't do a
- 2:32Speaker 2: lot this week. But Shipley to me, stood out and
- 2:34Speaker 2: he also looked great in the game.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Absolutely, And really if we're going to talk about Shipley
- 2:38Speaker 1: and even even Carson Steele, oh boy, the man of
- 2:42Speaker 1: steel out there hurtling. Uh, we really got to talk
- 2:45Speaker 1: about the offensive line because I think we always say
- 2:48Speaker 1: you don't make too much of preseason, but you do
- 2:51Speaker 1: want to see development. And uh for the third round
- 2:55Speaker 1: pick Mark hill bellet right tackle, land not Landon. Uh,
- 2:59Speaker 1: Drew Kendall the center, Willie Lampkin will get into a second,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but and Jake Majors playing right guard. I mean it
- 3:05Speaker 1: was undeniable that in their opportunities. And you can say
- 3:08Speaker 1: it's against backups, it doesn't matter because they are too
- 3:11Speaker 1: They moved people, they worked in See what I liked
- 3:16Speaker 1: is they worked in sync on reach blocks in that
- 3:19Speaker 1: outside zone, without penalties, without confusion, and then they move people.
- 3:23Speaker 1: They're you know, obviously Mark Helbell is huge, he should
- 3:26Speaker 1: move people Kendall was put on weight. You could see
- 3:29Speaker 1: he's stronger. And when you get a guy, when you
- 3:32Speaker 1: get a guy like Jake Major's in there and we
- 3:34Speaker 1: talk about the short arm but playing right guard, but
- 3:36Speaker 1: when he's surrounded by two guys who were experienced and
- 3:39Speaker 1: starting to come into their own that there was good
- 3:41Speaker 1: symmetry there. And the left side of the line was
- 3:43Speaker 1: good too, But those three really stood out, and I
- 3:46Speaker 1: think you got I think you have to feel good
- 3:49Speaker 1: about the concept of them their depth being better this
- 3:52Speaker 1: year than it was last year. Well, maybe we'll be
- 3:55Speaker 1: completely wrong about that, but I don't think so.
- 3:57Speaker 2: There are major questions, because it's true, there were a
- 3:59Speaker 2: major questions. It's coming into training camp about the backup
- 4:02Speaker 2: interior lineman, center and guard. Yes, Kendall was clear clearly
- 4:06Speaker 2: has had a good offseason. He's he's put the strength
- 4:09Speaker 2: on which he needed to do. He got much bigger physically.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Doesn't guarantee any of them, but it's a good thing.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And Okay, so center looks it's it's actually in pretty
- 4:20Speaker 2: good shape because Kendall obviously if they need him to be,
- 4:24Speaker 2: he's their backup center.
- 4:25Speaker 3: But what we.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Needed to find out what Kennell was Kenny play guard
- 4:29Speaker 2: because most most teams we spoke with thought he's not
- 4:31Speaker 2: a guard, He's a center.
- 4:31Speaker 3: He's built like a center.
- 4:32Speaker 2: He's not a guard like his dad, dad Pete, who
- 4:34Speaker 2: was who was at I think I saw on Wednesday's
- 4:37Speaker 2: practice bigger, physically, taller too than Drew. But there are
- 4:41Speaker 2: major questions where they could play guard. But he's done
- 4:44Speaker 2: a good job. I give him credit. He's he's done
- 4:47Speaker 2: a good job. In fact, that greg O Selt he
- 4:50Speaker 2: called it, he said he could be like Drew Dollman.
- 4:52Speaker 2: If I'm mistaken, I have to add double check with
- 4:56Speaker 2: greg He came up with a comp on him and
- 4:59Speaker 2: I could have sworn with Drew and they retired Falcons center. Hey,
- 5:03Speaker 2: the guy got paid a lot of money, so that
- 5:05Speaker 2: that's a pretty good it's a pretty good one. I'll
- 5:07Speaker 2: double check with him. But so yeah, so ken Ol
- 5:11Speaker 2: obviously could be the backup center. Coming to trans camp,
- 5:14Speaker 2: he was the backup center, but Willie Lampkin along comes
- 5:18Speaker 2: Willy Lampkin, who got off the slow starting training camp
- 5:21Speaker 2: first week running only with the third team. They started
- 5:24Speaker 2: to move them up a little bit, taking advantage of it.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Some dominant practice reps. By the way throughout last week, Okay,
- 5:33Speaker 2: this game, you see what the RAM saw and the
- 5:36Speaker 2: RAMS knew it if they.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Put him on i R.
- 5:39Speaker 2: The way it works with with nonvested players, if you
- 5:43Speaker 2: put them on i R, they're done for the season
- 5:47Speaker 2: and they're like, you know, if you if you see
- 5:50Speaker 2: what they could have done, if they could have held them,
- 5:53Speaker 2: they could have they could have held his roster spot,
- 5:56Speaker 2: and you have it's it's a dumb rule, like you
- 5:58Speaker 2: have to do it. You have to do it once
- 6:01Speaker 2: the fifty three set, then you can put them on
- 6:03Speaker 2: IR and then he just gone for as long as
- 6:04Speaker 2: you want them to be. But they waved him injured
- 6:08Speaker 2: because they did they wanted the roster spot and that
- 6:10Speaker 2: cost him. And he's he's developing rapidly. All the questions
- 6:16Speaker 2: we had about Chris Cooper and the lack of player development, Look,
- 6:22Speaker 2: it's a two weeks of training camp. Does something mean
- 6:23Speaker 2: they've developed? But they're on their way. You want to
- 6:26Speaker 2: see something that's it.
- 6:27Speaker 3: That's it.
- 6:28Speaker 2: That doesn't mean if they had to play be good
- 6:30Speaker 2: at all. It just means that what we've been told,
- 6:33Speaker 2: what we know, what we've seen, it looks good right now.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Lampkin at center number sixty one was unbelievably dominant stabs.
- 6:41Speaker 2: You mentioned Jake Majors, who've seen Tom at garden center,
- 6:44Speaker 2: you mentioned Mark Cupp by the way Fred Johnson started
- 6:47Speaker 2: left tackle, and on your point about in Unison, they
- 6:52Speaker 2: all five were.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I mean, this was.
- 6:55Speaker 2: They don't control how they play against They control their
- 6:57Speaker 2: effort and their technique and playing well. And they did
- 6:59Speaker 2: it was and I don't see it was shocking, was surprising.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I mean they at times it was like I don't
- 7:04Speaker 2: even see the coaching tape. I could see off TV
- 7:06Speaker 2: by slowing it down, which I did, I'm like, okay,
- 7:08Speaker 2: that's a pretty dominant snap there. We'll find out more
- 7:10Speaker 2: as we find out what the coaching tape looked like,
- 7:12Speaker 2: but I was impressed. This is pretty good.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I want to give show Amendment some credit to for
- 7:17Speaker 1: play calling, because you know, you're you're not game planning
- 7:21Speaker 1: typically for your opponent in the preseason, but you are
- 7:23Speaker 1: trying to put your offense in winnable situations. You're trying
- 7:26Speaker 1: to see things, and clearly he did see the way
- 7:29Speaker 1: the Patriots defending that they were vulnerable to that tunnel screen,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and he kept throwing it more than one. He threw
- 7:35Speaker 1: it a few times, he threw it once, two wide receiver.
- 7:38Speaker 1: He threw it a couple of times, obviously to Carson.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Steele got some big gains off that. So I was like, Okay,
- 7:44Speaker 1: he saw something and he's going to continue to attack it,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and he's going to see how his players respond when
- 7:49Speaker 1: they're running a play well against a certain look on defense.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That's what the preseason's about. That he coached this one
- 7:55Speaker 1: from upstairs. Okay, the booth. So first game and I
- 8:00Speaker 1: don't think he's gonna do I don't think we're gonna
- 8:02Speaker 1: do cluse and effect to your first game offense didn't
- 8:04Speaker 1: go well. He was on the field. Second game, off
- 8:06Speaker 1: did better. He was up in the booth. I don't
- 8:07Speaker 1: know that's gonna be a comfort thing for him, and
- 8:09Speaker 1: I don't care whatever's comfortable with his fine. But I
- 8:12Speaker 1: did like the way he called the game. I like
- 8:14Speaker 1: the way he blended the run with the pass, and
- 8:17Speaker 1: I just thought in general, you saw harmony. Yeah, he
- 8:20Speaker 1: saw a good rhythm and good flow and that was
- 8:21Speaker 1: important even though not playing well right because I know
- 8:25Speaker 1: he didn't.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I got the quotes from the Patriots and we posted
- 8:29Speaker 2: him for a Patreon members both Dalton and McKee were
- 8:33Speaker 2: very complimentary about uh Sean mannion and and and what
- 8:38Speaker 2: he called and how he called it and how comfortable
- 8:40Speaker 2: he was and yeah he was you can say he
- 8:43Speaker 2: was in his bag. Now the check See, I have
- 8:48Speaker 2: to ask technically, was that a screen or was that
- 8:52Speaker 2: a checkdown?
- 8:53Speaker 3: The one to steal the twenty eight yarder.
- 8:56Speaker 1: The first one?
- 8:57Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, that was that? That to me, I I
- 8:59Speaker 3: got it. I have to ask.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I get the because of the way he came in
- 9:05Speaker 1: to get the ball. He didn't just like get the
- 9:07Speaker 1: ball and have a convoy of blockers. He almost looked
- 9:11Speaker 1: like he stopped and then broke into it. So to me,
- 9:14Speaker 1: it looked like it was a design tunnel. But you're right, like,
- 9:16Speaker 1: sometimes those can be checkofs that look like that exactly.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I thought it might have been a checked him. But well,
- 9:21Speaker 2: the thing that just stunned me is Steve left them
- 9:23Speaker 2: in receptions. Wasn't just the twenty eight yard in the touchdown,
- 9:27Speaker 2: He let him in targets and receptions. Now, nothing's impossible.
- 9:32Speaker 2: It's super highly unlikely he'll make it. Okay, there's no
- 9:36Speaker 2: room for him. He'll never dress if everybody's healthy, he
- 9:38Speaker 2: would never play right, Like, yeah you could, you could.
- 9:43Speaker 2: The only way he'd play would be on special teams.
- 9:45Speaker 2: But to take up a rusher spot like this. This
- 9:47Speaker 2: is why you have Keeley Ringo and other good special
- 9:50Speaker 2: teams players. But the thing is thirty other teams have
- 9:53Speaker 2: access to this tape. Okay, remember when you cut, he's nonvested.
- 9:59Speaker 2: He's got to go for waivers. So just understand, Bigsby's
- 10:03Speaker 2: on the fine overs rookie deal. Will's in his third
- 10:05Speaker 2: year of his four year Deal's got a couple of
- 10:07Speaker 2: years left. But there's a path for him if they
- 10:10Speaker 2: cut him and he goes through waivers unclaimed.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Absolutely to bring him back to practice for him. He need.
- 10:15Speaker 2: He hasn't done anything until this point. I mean, it's
- 10:17Speaker 2: one of those things where like, okay, why is he
- 10:19Speaker 2: even here? Kind of and then he just blows up.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He was great, He looked great, He looked explosive. Obviously
- 10:24Speaker 2: that the Saquon leap was interesting. Coaches don't like that.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Typically he get hurt. Gotta be careful.
- 10:30Speaker 3: So he was good.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Darris Cooper on on the slant on the Crossers great
- 10:33Speaker 2: at the twenty five yarder Covey with a man's touchdown.
- 10:38Speaker 2: That was interesting that I was like, wait, is that Covey.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's pretty good. I mean it was just like everything
- 10:46Speaker 2: worked out well. I mean, we'll get to the defense.
- 10:49Speaker 2: But yeah, to summer, to summarize this, McKee, Mckey's not
- 10:54Speaker 2: the two. I mean, I don't know what else he
- 10:56Speaker 2: has to obviously have to play the third game he
- 10:57Speaker 2: better not do badly.
- 10:59Speaker 3: But yeah, he's the two.
- 11:01Speaker 1: The thing McKee to me Adam in that game. And again,
- 11:05Speaker 1: what you're looking to see that you can project as
- 11:07Speaker 1: real as a poet for example. What I can't project
- 11:10Speaker 1: is real is that just because running backs led Shipley
- 11:14Speaker 1: and Steele caught a lot of passes Hollever receiving yards.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I am not gonna sit here and do a dance
- 11:19Speaker 1: with you like we did a few years ago about yay,
- 11:21Speaker 1: there's gonna be throwing to the running backs in this offense. Okay,
- 11:23Speaker 1: oh yeah, that was a second quarterback, a four string
- 11:27Speaker 1: running back. We have no idea what Jalen Arts and
- 11:29Speaker 1: the first teamers are going to do. However, I will
- 11:32Speaker 1: sit here and I think you would agree and say
- 11:34Speaker 1: you were looking for McKie to just like get in
- 11:36Speaker 1: and look comfortable within the offense and make the throws
- 11:39Speaker 1: that he typically has made in preseason games. And when
- 11:42Speaker 1: he started off, I thought he was a little, I
- 11:45Speaker 1: don't want to say uncomfortable, but he dirted a few passes.
- 11:47Speaker 1: It looked like he just was still trying to find it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And then as the game went on, I thought he
- 11:52Speaker 1: just he just started to find it. He started to
- 11:54Speaker 1: look like I'm getting it now. The light bulb's going on.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Manion's giving me some play calls where there's going to
- 12:00Speaker 1: be some guys who are going to be open or
- 12:02Speaker 1: at least one on one, And then he started to
- 12:04Speaker 1: become a distributor. And that to me, like you're saying,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I don't know how if you're the Eagles coaches, you
- 12:09Speaker 1: look at these practices and think I want Andy Dalton
- 12:13Speaker 1: over Tanner McKee.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Just by the way, I would also add to me,
- 12:17Speaker 2: and McKey took the lead this week.
- 12:19Speaker 3: He's better in Dalton in practices.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I practice, Yes, I had four or five agendas last week,
- 12:26Speaker 2: four or five things I want to get cleared, Like
- 12:28Speaker 2: just watch a lot. As I keep telling people, no
- 12:30Speaker 2: reporter could watch every play. So when they they're acting
- 12:33Speaker 2: like they know everything, they don't. We'd have to talk
- 12:35Speaker 2: to a coach or front off executive to know exactly
- 12:38Speaker 2: what happened for the coaching for the practice tape. So
- 12:40Speaker 2: I laugh when well, I won't bring up some of
- 12:43Speaker 2: these reporters, but I'm like laughing when they think they
- 12:45Speaker 2: know what they saw, Like, couldn't you talk to like
- 12:47Speaker 2: you are you absolutely sure? Right? You know, I run by,
- 12:51Speaker 2: I run stuff by people like what it looked like
- 12:53Speaker 2: and how did you feel about it? But McKay to me,
- 12:57Speaker 2: it's McKee will be the two bit barring something highly infestane.
- 13:01Speaker 3: That's just the way I say it.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And then oh, the one thing about Stowers that you
- 13:06Speaker 2: want to add, Remember Dalton missed him that he yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 2: he had leverage on that. He like Stowers had leverage
- 13:12Speaker 2: on that. On the defender he had overthrows it. I mean,
- 13:16Speaker 2: you got to make that throw that.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Come on, man, that's Confederate. You've got to hit him.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And then right before that, it was Cooper right who
- 13:22Speaker 1: was just right there. Actually I think it was Cooper who,
- 13:24Speaker 1: more like Stowers, was just in the middle of his
- 13:25Speaker 1: own and go out.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was over his hands into the sideline.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Got to be in his hands. Come on, yeah, you
- 13:33Speaker 3: gotta make that throw.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I agree. And those were two back to
- 13:37Speaker 1: back opportunities that you got to make your fifteen years
- 13:40Speaker 1: in this league, seventeen years, you got to make it,
- 13:43Speaker 1: and he did so. And I do think they're just
- 13:46Speaker 1: from and going back to the offensive line. You know
- 13:49Speaker 1: the kid that they draft in the six round, he
- 13:51Speaker 1: moves really well. Yeah, I mean he's got some work
- 13:54Speaker 1: to do, which you knew he was only a one
- 13:56Speaker 1: year starter. I think thirteen starts of Georgia. He's got
- 13:58Speaker 1: some some work to do. But I thought he looked
- 14:02Speaker 1: like a guy who's a pretty good fluid mover there
- 14:04Speaker 1: working uh late in the uh late a lot.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, Actually it's really interesting. Major's played every snap.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Every the new Darien Canard.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Right right right, and then they wound up trading Canard.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Can he make it?
- 14:18Speaker 4: Though?
- 14:18Speaker 1: At him?
- 14:18Speaker 5: Can he mean I'm sitting here in my showcase for
- 14:21Speaker 5: the showcase, Well that's what I was wondering, right, Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 5: I mean, can he make it when you're already gonna
- 14:27Speaker 5: keep Kendall and most likely Willy Lampkin like how many
- 14:30Speaker 5: guys are you gonna keep.
- 14:31Speaker 1: You're gonna keep fred fred Taiale, You're gonna keep Freddy T.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You're gonna keep Freddy J. Fred Johnson, You're gonna keep
- 14:38Speaker 1: Mark L.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Bell.
- 14:39Speaker 1: You're gonna keep Kendall. So that's eight right there. With
- 14:41Speaker 1: the starting five, you're probably nine, right, So then it
- 14:47Speaker 1: comes down to like Majors and Michael Morris and are
- 14:50Speaker 1: they gonna keep eleven? I don't know how he's threatened
- 14:53Speaker 1: to do it. He said he would if you had to.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think hitting at this point. And
- 14:58Speaker 1: Camra Williams are part of the discussion anymore. And the kids,
- 15:01Speaker 1: like the kid who you like got hurt, he's been hurt.
- 15:04Speaker 2: So that uh John John Ojuku, Yeah, it's too bad
- 15:07Speaker 2: because they cross trained the guard. I was like, yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 2: that was interesting.
- 15:11Speaker 3: You know he actually.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I have to look it up with the Titans if
- 15:15Speaker 2: you played guard. I know he played multiple positions for them.
- 15:17Speaker 2: But yeah, and then look, they don't have fourth corner
- 15:19Speaker 2: right now, and we're going to get the defense about
- 15:21Speaker 2: a minute thirty forty five seconds.
- 15:23Speaker 3: But that's you know, that's the balance is the roster.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Issue, because then you've got Wairo, you got the international kids.
- 15:33Speaker 2: They count against the fifty three, which is stupid. It's
- 15:36Speaker 2: a dumb role.
- 15:37Speaker 3: You got it backwards.
- 15:38Speaker 2: When I got the world clarified it sentiment, I was
- 15:40Speaker 2: all right, it's the exact opposite. They don't count against
- 15:42Speaker 2: the nightey, but they count against the fifty three. It's
- 15:44Speaker 2: so dumb.
- 15:46Speaker 1: But don't they wait, they don't count against the initial
- 15:49Speaker 1: but then once they clear that, you have to still
- 15:51Speaker 1: put them on the fifty three. But then don't you
- 15:52Speaker 1: get to use the exemption?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Well no, they know they have. You could keep seventy,
- 15:57Speaker 2: you could keep a practic squad. You get to keep
- 15:59Speaker 2: one international plan the seventeen.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Okay, I actually reading the rules.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I don't have it in front of me. Actually have
- 16:04Speaker 2: the exact rule of the rates that the teams have.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Gotten that someone sent it to me.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Uh huh. And I was just like, this is the
- 16:09Speaker 2: dumbest thing. It should be the exact opposite. Yeah, because
- 16:13Speaker 2: these kids aren't going to be ready to play. Why
- 16:15Speaker 2: would you?
- 16:16Speaker 1: I would I would agree with you on Maru. I
- 16:18Speaker 1: would say, if you draft a player though, that's on you.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Like if you draft like they did with and a
- 16:26Speaker 1: lot of but I'm saying, if you draft a guy
- 16:28Speaker 1: as opposed to just an undrafted free agent, then you've
- 16:32Speaker 1: given you put stock in him, then then you probably
- 16:34Speaker 1: don't deserve an exemption for it.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Yeah well, oh well all right, So that's it. On offense,
- 16:39Speaker 2: it's really we just covered it. I mean, it's it's
- 16:41Speaker 2: a line was dominant. I'm looking at my notes here,
- 16:45Speaker 2: stot that was not Stowar's problem.
- 16:46Speaker 3: He was missed on. He only got two targets that
- 16:49Speaker 3: he was overthrown one of them. Cooper was active, he
- 16:51Speaker 3: looked good. Yeah, he was phenomenal. Yeah, Steel is amazing.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Yep uh.
- 16:56Speaker 2: And then you know, o line dominating. M Key had
- 16:59Speaker 2: a better week than Alton. That's about it.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, if you're coming out of this game
- 17:03Speaker 1: looking for something to be concerned about, it's something we
- 17:05Speaker 1: already discussed going into the game, and it's what are
- 17:07Speaker 1: they doing at tight end? Because again, kaim Lotto was
- 17:11Speaker 1: out there. I thought he was throwing good blocks, looking athletic,
- 17:14Speaker 1: but he never gets the ball. So yeah, he did
- 17:16Speaker 1: have one catch, right, but he doesn't typically get the
- 17:18Speaker 1: ball thrown his way. But it's just to me, behind
- 17:21Speaker 1: god heard there's a missmash of uncertainty as opposed to
- 17:25Speaker 1: trying to find a guy who can do multiple things.
- 17:28Speaker 1: They I think Howie may have to be active here
- 17:31Speaker 1: at the at the roster cutdown to try to bring
- 17:33Speaker 1: in somebody who's a why that can catch a little
- 17:36Speaker 1: you know, maybe a veteran.
- 17:38Speaker 2: It's it's extremely rare to find a guy does both.
- 17:42Speaker 3: That's why I'm not.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Saying like someone who does it as well as Goddard.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But even if it's like a Jack Stole, just somebody
- 17:47Speaker 1: who can catch the ball a little.
- 17:48Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, but he's but Jack actually was more
- 17:51Speaker 2: of a receiving tight end quite a bit, and it's
- 17:54Speaker 2: career and braska then he became a blocker only right. Really,
- 17:59Speaker 2: it's this is why I was saying the last show
- 18:02Speaker 2: is that Calcaterra. He may not be on the fifty three,
- 18:05Speaker 2: we'll see, but he's going to be on the practice squad.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I don't see anyway. He's not on sixty nine men roster. Oh,
- 18:09Speaker 2: by the way, real quick Sunday at six pm Eastern,
- 18:15Speaker 2: the rosters have to be down to fifty three. Right
- 18:18Speaker 2: Monday at one o'clock waiver claims and right after waiver
- 18:23Speaker 2: claims are processed, you can have your practice squad after
- 18:25Speaker 2: one pm Eastern on Monday. So right, that's the timeline.
- 18:28Speaker 2: And as always, teams never wait. The game is Friday
- 18:32Speaker 2: night here in Philly against the Bengals. Wouldn't surprise me
- 18:35Speaker 2: if we see some names come out on Saturday.
- 18:37Speaker 1: There you go, and still Smart showing up well. But
- 18:40Speaker 1: again he's running thirday. He's running with backups against deep backups,
- 18:44Speaker 1: so it's hard.
- 18:45Speaker 3: To cut any but but again, the thing is for him.
- 18:49Speaker 3: He gets good.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Tape out there, practice squad possibility. He's pretty athletic. He's
- 18:52Speaker 2: a little smaller, and you'd like, yeah, that's a problemse
- 18:55Speaker 2: we always say about death has nothing to do with
- 18:57Speaker 2: how many players you have.
- 18:57Speaker 3: It's the quality of the player. It's not a fifty
- 19:01Speaker 3: three manter ros Rais is not.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Hey. Football season is coming up soon, and I know
- 19:04Speaker 1: that's gonna be so many late nights for me. You
- 19:07Speaker 1: know how many times the Eagles are on primetime And
- 19:09Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be going to bed until after well
- 19:12Speaker 1: after midnight, and that means the next day I can
- 19:14Speaker 1: probably count the number of cups of coffee I would
- 19:17Speaker 1: drink on two hands. But not anymore. That's because for
- 19:20Speaker 1: a while now I've been using Ultra pouches. It is
- 19:24Speaker 1: instant focus in a pouch. These pouches are completely nicotine
- 19:29Speaker 1: free and caffeine free, and boy do I get a
- 19:32Speaker 1: great jolt from these truly clean, plant powered pouches that
- 19:36Speaker 1: are designed to sharpen your mind and lift your energy,
- 19:39Speaker 1: all without caffeine, nicotine, or crash. I'm also seeing these everywhere.
- 19:44Speaker 1: They're blowing up, so I know I'm not the only one.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Did you know it was possible to feel this energize
- 19:49Speaker 1: and focus without nicotine or caffeine? I certainly didn't. Also,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I'm less edgy and less anxious compared to people who
- 19:57Speaker 1: use nicotine or even when I drink a lot of coffee.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I will totally be using them. When I'm burning the
- 20:04Speaker 1: candle at both ends, trying to record, write, produce podcasts,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I will absolutely need them. Ultra is the ultimate guilt
- 20:12Speaker 1: free pouch, delivering instant focus and mental clarity without nicotine
- 20:16Speaker 1: or caffeine. New customers can use the code birds to

- 20:32Speaker 1: inside the birds sent you. I'm someone who really likes
- 20:35Speaker 1: to wear jeans, but it's becoming really, really hard these
- 20:38Speaker 1: days to find genes that aren't tight fitting or restricting,
- 20:43Speaker 1: especially for someone who's active. I like to go to
- 20:45Speaker 1: the gym. I'm always out and about. Even when I'm
- 20:47Speaker 1: not active and I'm just sitting in a chair, you
- 20:50Speaker 1: start to get that feeling of being constricted and restrained,
- 20:53Speaker 1: and I hate that feeling. Perfect example, last year, I
- 20:56Speaker 1: did a fantasy football draft. It took three hours, and
- 21:00Speaker 1: I could just feel myself moving around my chair, adjusting myself.
- 21:03Speaker 1: But everything changed when I found the perfect gene. It's
- 21:07Speaker 1: a gene that fits me just right. It doesn't pinch,
- 21:11Speaker 1: it stretches nicely. Here's what makes these genuinely different from
- 21:15Speaker 1: other stretched jeans. All right, they don't look like stretched jeans.
- 21:19Speaker 1: They look like sharp, classic denim. They're so polished that
- 21:22Speaker 1: you can go straight from like a tailgate parking lot
- 21:25Speaker 1: right to a dinner reservation without anybody clocking you as
- 21:29Speaker 1: that guy who just spent four hours in a lot.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I just recently did another fantasy football draft and I
- 21:35Speaker 1: wore the Perfect Gene and I was just so comfortable. Look,
- 21:38Speaker 1: these things are flexible enough that you can actually move
- 21:41Speaker 1: round in them. You can bend to get that drink
- 21:44Speaker 1: in the cooler. You could sit in a chair for
- 21:46Speaker 1: a few hours. You can stand for the anthem at
- 21:49Speaker 1: a ball game. You can get up and guard somebody
- 21:51Speaker 1: in a pickup game wearing the Perfect Gene without even
- 21:54Speaker 1: hearing a seam threatened to give out. All right, our
- 21:58Speaker 1: listeners get fifteen percent off their first order, plus free
- 22:01Speaker 1: shipping at the Perfect Gene dot nyc. Or google the
- 22:05Speaker 1: Perfect Gene and use code birds for fifteen percent off.
- 22:09Speaker 1: That's right, fifteen percent off your first or plus free
- 22:12Speaker 1: shipping at the Perfect Gene dot nyc using the code Birds.
- 22:17Speaker 1: We'll say, we'll see if anything changes. You know, we
- 22:19Speaker 1: always say after the preseason games, you'll start to see
- 22:21Speaker 1: some people move up and down the depth chart and practice.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So we'll see Monday what happens there. Defense Ty Robinson obviously,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I mean, oh boy, he's got this really good club
- 22:32Speaker 1: move that I mean, it's his only move, but it
- 22:34Speaker 1: seems to work really well. I just thought he played
- 22:36Speaker 1: with also some tenacity. He split his second sack. He
- 22:39Speaker 1: split a double team. And I don't know if you heard.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Ross Tucker is so funny. He was analyzing everything from
- 22:45Speaker 1: an offensive lineman standpoint.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and he kept.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Going, man, looks really poor technique by the Patriots offensive lineman.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And then you remember who he's working for, and he's like, hey,
- 22:53Speaker 1: but that's not the Eagle.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Yeah he does that. Yeah, I've got that. It's all good.
- 22:58Speaker 3: All right.
- 22:58Speaker 2: So here's what we told on ty Robinson, Like what's
- 23:02Speaker 2: his issue? Yeah, he's got lower body stiffness. We're told
- 23:06Speaker 2: that's the issue, the stiffness. If he does not have
- 23:09Speaker 2: good technique, he can't win because he they'll they'll just
- 23:11Speaker 2: push him down like he gets moved. So he's got
- 23:15Speaker 2: he's got to use his hands correctly. It's got great
- 23:18Speaker 2: burst like that you saw them on the sacks. He's
- 23:21Speaker 2: got great burst.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yep.
- 23:22Speaker 2: But you can he gets stood up like he could
- 23:25Speaker 2: get stood up. That was on his college stape at Nebraska. Yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and that's why we were told part of he kind
- 23:31Speaker 2: of unlearned the techniques that he learned at Nebraska. And
- 23:34Speaker 2: it's got to be like being deprogrammed. And then being
- 23:37Speaker 2: reprogrammed the way that Clint Hurt wants it done. So
- 23:41Speaker 2: just understand, and that's why his first year was a
- 23:43Speaker 2: total washout. He was so far behind. But he's come on,
- 23:47Speaker 2: Vic said it. I was there, I saw it.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I heard it.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I shake my head, like did he really need to
- 23:51Speaker 2: say that? But it's hilarious. He was on life support.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Now he's got he's got plenty of life. It's he's
- 23:57Speaker 2: he's I don't see how he's not on the scene.
- 24:00Speaker 2: This is what you want because remember Byron Young's contracts
- 24:02Speaker 2: up after the season.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 24:05Speaker 1: By the way, Vinnie Curry was a little bit like that.
- 24:07Speaker 1: He's a guy who had as from the edge, great burst,
- 24:09Speaker 1: like quick burst off the line of scrimmage, but not
- 24:12Speaker 1: like great athletic, twitchy and change of direction. So there
- 24:16Speaker 1: would be a lot of times where he'd force a
- 24:18Speaker 1: quarterback who had some mobility out off the pocket, but
- 24:20Speaker 1: then he couldn't like reverse course and get that quarterback down.
- 24:25Speaker 1: And that's why he would mainly a rundown defender and
- 24:27Speaker 1: and you know, not as much of a situational pass right.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Well, but he was good and white nine he was.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, because he had great burst. He would almost create
- 24:36Speaker 1: the pressure and then somebody else would finish it off
- 24:38Speaker 1: a whole lot.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yeah, good landing and Vinnie's energy. We love Vinnie. So
- 24:44Speaker 3: uh you are Bernard he had, he showed up a
- 24:47Speaker 3: little bit. See what we learned about you are.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Bernard Is and the and guys who were either seven
- 24:53Speaker 2: front picks who are undirected free agents or international players.
- 24:56Speaker 3: They don't play.
- 24:58Speaker 2: As a veteran coach told me over the years that
- 25:01Speaker 2: they don't play the first one. They have to protect
- 25:03Speaker 2: themselves so they can't get hurt. You can't let it like.
- 25:05Speaker 2: They have to be able to detect themselves. Sounds ridiculous,
- 25:08Speaker 2: but that's what this coach told me. And then you
- 25:12Speaker 2: want to see what we've taught them. You know they're
- 25:14Speaker 2: going to screw up. They're in particular in case they're
- 25:16Speaker 2: new to football, but you want to see if they
- 25:19Speaker 2: could apply what they've learned, and you are dead. He
- 25:21Speaker 2: did and wayroo sack and a jab step. I was like, whoa,
- 25:25Speaker 2: that was beautiful. I'm like, okay, yeah, coach coaches are
- 25:29Speaker 2: coaches are in their bag. Man, They've got these guys
- 25:31Speaker 2: like that. Look they're ways away from ever contributing. He
- 25:36Speaker 2: just want to see some progress on tape, and they did, and.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Have about game Hole Gabe Hole even got in there
- 25:40Speaker 1: and and and call some chaos up front and he
- 25:43Speaker 1: was in there in the Jimon Robinson, I don't know
- 25:45Speaker 1: what Vic does. He does this a lot, right. He
- 25:48Speaker 1: plays those guys like your top backups. They were playing
- 25:50Speaker 1: in the first court. They were balling there. Finally they
- 25:52Speaker 1: come out and then all of a sudden you see
- 25:54Speaker 1: him back in the game, like late in the third
- 25:56Speaker 1: quarter or fourth quarter. It's like Vic's going for the
- 25:58Speaker 1: juggular and trying to win games. But it was funny
- 26:00Speaker 1: to see both of those guys come back out a
- 26:02Speaker 1: little bit later in the second half.
- 26:03Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, on your point, game Hall
- 26:05Speaker 2: played the second most amount of snaps.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Maybe there's something who knows.
- 26:10Speaker 2: It's just id on that well, Ty Robinson, I mean
- 26:14Speaker 2: this this is a good problem to have.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Now. The question is long term, is you a great
- 26:17Speaker 3: fit for the scheme? Right, We'll have to see.
- 26:19Speaker 2: But if you're Hollie and and Clint Hurt and Vic Fanger,
- 26:25Speaker 2: you gotta be loving us.
- 26:25Speaker 3: This is what this is why he was drafted. But
- 26:28Speaker 3: you want that explosion. What the hands?
- 26:29Speaker 2: He There's nothing to do about the lower body stiffness.
- 26:32Speaker 2: There's absolutely nothing you can do with it. Nothing you
- 26:34Speaker 2: can do about it. But sure as health his upper body,
- 26:38Speaker 2: there's a lot you can do. So uh try that
- 26:40Speaker 2: by the as we move on here, trot junior splitz
- 26:43Speaker 2: is just ridiculous. Now I get it. They're playing with
- 26:46Speaker 2: the backup quarterback and backup linemen. They did spot it.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Who cares you when you time up the snaps?
- 26:52Speaker 3: That's pretty good? I know they're pretty good.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I mean that just to me just says like you
- 26:55Speaker 1: have elite awareness football, IQ. It doesn't matter if it's
- 27:00Speaker 1: ninth string. You timed up a cadence and literally sacked the.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Guy before you get it beautiful. I was like, it's
- 27:06Speaker 4: funny before before they could before they could rerun it,
- 27:12Speaker 4: you know, I have on on VUC and FiOS. I
- 27:14Speaker 4: have rewind the ability to put it in slow motion,
- 27:19Speaker 4: and I was like, this is wow, even fast, right,
- 27:24Speaker 4: you know it's pretty good.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I've heard people Adam tell stories about Reggie White, and
- 27:27Speaker 1: you might know this better than me, having been in
- 27:29Speaker 1: piarly all your life, but that part of his greatness
- 27:33Speaker 1: wasn't just the strength, wasn't just the power, but that
- 27:37Speaker 1: people like Tackles would say who played with me, I'd
- 27:40Speaker 1: watched him say he could get off the snap faster
- 27:44Speaker 1: than and he knew the snap count all the time.
- 27:47Speaker 1: And when you're that smart and you've already got talent
- 27:50Speaker 1: and you add that to it, it just makes you
- 27:52Speaker 1: that much better of a football player. And so we
- 27:55Speaker 1: know Trotter Junior is not the greatest athlete. He's not
- 27:57Speaker 1: the fastest guy. He's not gonna win a whole body
- 28:00Speaker 1: beautiful contests and measurables. But he is just always in
- 28:05Speaker 1: the right place at the right time. And I'll tell
- 28:07Speaker 1: you what. The ankle tackle that he made on on Devedo,
- 28:11Speaker 1: who probably could have ran for about fifteen twenty more
- 28:13Speaker 1: yards after he dodged. You know, Mondon came out of blitz,
- 28:16Speaker 1: he kind of climbed around. It was headed upfield and
- 28:19Speaker 1: Trotter came around and tackledhim at the ankles. Took the
- 28:21Speaker 1: wrong angle to me, right right, but always in the
- 28:24Speaker 1: right place. Try it. I'm starting with sympathy for the guy.
- 28:28Speaker 1: It's like there's just no way he can start, but
- 28:30Speaker 1: he deserves to somewhere.
- 28:32Speaker 3: But no, that's why I brought up to Andrew.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Is there any way, you know, I posted to him
- 28:36Speaker 2: and I talked about this with you on our Friday show.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Is it there any way?
- 28:40Speaker 2: We know Vic doesn't do this, we get it, but
- 28:42Speaker 2: is there any way he could find a role for
- 28:44Speaker 2: Trotter that's not just to play on special teams?
- 28:46Speaker 3: Like, is there a situational role?
- 28:50Speaker 2: There's no way to know this because it's not they're
- 28:52Speaker 2: not debuting this in a practice and training camp and.
- 28:55Speaker 1: They're not going to become a four to three overnight
- 28:57Speaker 1: either on h No, they're not doing that.
- 28:58Speaker 2: But yeah, they only played they play two inside backers.
- 29:01Speaker 2: I'm just wondering, you know, third down Nichols or could
- 29:06Speaker 2: be a Nickel, whatever the case may be. I'm just wondering,
- 29:08Speaker 2: really if there's anything. But so, look, we already know
- 29:11Speaker 2: how great he is, uh, and then you know they
- 29:15Speaker 2: they need the fourth corner things a real problem like
- 29:19Speaker 2: that's I'm looking at my list here of to do
- 29:22Speaker 2: list for Howie.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, with Ambry Thomas and.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Well he actually if you watch the play, he actually
- 29:32Speaker 2: came as soon as the play started, he went like
- 29:35Speaker 2: that and just slip he hesitated, went right by him,
- 29:40Speaker 2: uh for the touchdown. But yeah, obviously this is not
- 29:42Speaker 2: good for Ambry Thomas's chances.
- 29:45Speaker 3: So iob I'd mentioned this here.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I'm just talking about the practice squad obviously tries to
- 29:50Speaker 2: the three. Monon right now, to me, is only special
- 29:53Speaker 2: teams player you need kind of need for. I understand
- 29:55Speaker 2: he counts and he's going to be on the team. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 2: as a special teams player. But again, here's here's why
- 30:01Speaker 2: you need to think Ford folks. Somebody gets hurt, trot starts.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 30:05Speaker 3: She was your third linebacker. You don't have one. You
- 30:07Speaker 3: don't know who that? Are you ready for?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Is Montan ready to That means if Monin is the
- 30:12Speaker 2: third guy, is he ready to play sidific role?
- 30:14Speaker 3: I don't think so. He show's ready to play.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I don't know how many teams fourth
- 30:19Speaker 1: linebacker you would say is. I get it.
- 30:21Speaker 3: But I'm just telling you, like I'm just telling you.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I'm just telling you because I've gone through all the
- 30:26Speaker 2: practices and all the information gathering, I'm like, well, what
- 30:29Speaker 2: because Howie has a history of not there's no reason
- 30:32Speaker 2: to trade for one that's the third guy. I just
- 30:35Speaker 2: talk about practice squad. What could how we do You
- 30:38Speaker 2: mentioned Titan. I totally agree with you. They need if
- 30:41Speaker 2: if God gets hurt, they're in major trouble, major trouble. Okay,
- 30:45Speaker 2: for all that he does obviously offense, I mean they've
- 30:47Speaker 2: got guys could catch the ball like Calcaterra, but he
- 30:49Speaker 2: can't block uh veteran guard because they've stepped it up
- 30:53Speaker 2: a little bit here with Kendall. Again, he hasn't been
- 30:56Speaker 2: in a regular season game. At least he shown he
- 30:57Speaker 2: could play it.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you can probably get Michael Ruin on the practice squad.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Right, I mean right, that's exactly what I'm thinking. So on, and.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You're right, you can do that at linebacker. There's gonna
- 31:05Speaker 1: be a million available after the cutdown. Who the veteran
- 31:08Speaker 1: who can go in there?
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 31:10Speaker 2: Right now, it didn't work out with your crane, Ben,
- 31:12Speaker 2: who's hurt anyway, He just he it hadn't happened, right,
- 31:15Speaker 2: and it hasn't happened from mac Co claims they badly
- 31:17Speaker 2: need a fourth corner.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And by the way, pastoral fields for those who don't
- 31:21Speaker 1: realize when on injured or reserve.
- 31:23Speaker 2: So right, yeah, he did some good things at training camp.
- 31:25Speaker 2: He get another forty nine er who they've added, but
- 31:28Speaker 2: to finish this out to me and that's where the
- 31:32Speaker 2: sixty nine men roster one of those practice squad guys.
- 31:36Speaker 2: If not a trade, they really need a veteran. Jonathan
- 31:38Speaker 2: Jones has been hard. He thirty three into a couple
- 31:40Speaker 2: of weeks.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, Philly fans. Game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 31:46Speaker 1: long lines, We've all been there. But when it comes
- 31:49Speaker 1: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 31:54Speaker 1: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly

- 32:27Speaker 1: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 32:32Speaker 1: service members and healthcare pros camed din Apothecary, top quality cannabis,
- 32:37Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 32:40Speaker 1: one and up.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Don't gamble, don't get they need one more practice Squad's fine,
- 32:47Speaker 2: whether it's trade or practice squad, they need. As you said,
- 32:50Speaker 2: clubs have leverage. Now after we let me explain the
- 32:53Speaker 2: week one situation. Veterans who have not applied for what's
- 32:58Speaker 2: called termination pay are eligible to gain at their full
- 33:00Speaker 2: salary if they're on the roster a week one. So
- 33:04Speaker 2: that's why you see a lot. That's the roster tango,
- 33:06Speaker 2: which we talked about nine years ago.
- 33:08Speaker 3: It's our ninth year.
- 33:09Speaker 2: It's part of it is understanding the rules and saying, okay,
- 33:13Speaker 2: you know what you tell the agent. Listen, we want them,
- 33:15Speaker 2: but we can't guarantee you Sally for the full season.
- 33:18Speaker 2: About we sign him to the practice squad. Okay, now,
- 33:21Speaker 2: if you really want to be here, we'll sign you
- 33:23Speaker 2: the practice squad, But if you want to be on
- 33:26Speaker 2: the fifty three, we can't do it until after week one.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I think it would make sense. And the only thing
- 33:31Speaker 1: is this is the one position where it's hard to
- 33:34Speaker 1: find some guys that you feel confident in to even
- 33:38Speaker 1: do that, right, and.
- 33:39Speaker 3: You see who's cut? Yea, who's available?
- 33:45Speaker 2: Veterans Vested veterans four years or more do not go
- 33:47Speaker 2: through waivers until the trade deadline. Until after the trade
- 33:51Speaker 2: deadline in late October, then everyone in the NFL subject
- 33:53Speaker 2: to waivers if they're cut.
- 33:55Speaker 1: But so are you able to do that thing where
- 33:57Speaker 1: a guy gets cut you don't like him, but you think, like,
- 34:00Speaker 1: all right, that's like, let's say the Giants cut Banks
- 34:02Speaker 1: because they can't stand him anymore. He's available, But what
- 34:06Speaker 1: are you gonna see? Youn say, oh, but this guy,
- 34:07Speaker 1: you know, he hasn't played well. You know, you get
- 34:09Speaker 1: into that position where.
- 34:12Speaker 3: You have to money.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Is that you have to look at the money because
- 34:14Speaker 2: he was a first round pick, right, But to me,
- 34:17Speaker 2: clubs have such leverage and plus you know the Eagles
- 34:20Speaker 2: are going to be a good team.
- 34:21Speaker 3: They're always good for twenty tho.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yeah, the way they think they have things rolling and
- 34:25Speaker 2: players love playing here. You talk to agents, I mean
- 34:29Speaker 2: it is like they complain because we did a whole
- 34:31Speaker 2: show in this Jeff and I at our second year.
- 34:34Speaker 2: The injury stuff, the way injuries were handled and just
- 34:37Speaker 2: players are complaining, But man, I have not heard anything
- 34:41Speaker 2: twenty one on or I should take very little complaints,
- 34:44Speaker 2: which is not the way it's with the other thirty
- 34:47Speaker 2: one teams. There's but it's how is a deal maker.
- 34:50Speaker 2: They pay their players well here. Coaches like the coaches
- 34:53Speaker 2: by the way, are paid pretty well here from what
- 34:55Speaker 2: we've been told. So it's just a situation where they
- 34:58Speaker 2: got a good thing going. And if you're a veteran
- 34:59Speaker 2: one to win, why the hell wouldn't you want to
- 35:02Speaker 2: be here? Right no, right post to other teams where
- 35:05Speaker 2: there's certainty. Nick Nick has made the playoffs every year
- 35:09Speaker 2: for the Knicks, who won and Nick fired after the
- 35:11Speaker 2: first preseason.
- 35:12Speaker 3: You should see it. If folks don't know what we're
- 35:13Speaker 3: talking about, look at.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Our look at the comment.
- 35:18Speaker 2: You can't believe we don't. We don't answer questions there,
- 35:21Speaker 2: we don't. It's what Patreon's for. We we answered little
- 35:24Speaker 2: every question you can think about Patreon. It's been great.
- 35:26Speaker 2: We thank for everyone all the renewals recently, but we
- 35:29Speaker 2: clean it up a little bit. But every once in
- 35:31Speaker 2: a while, say really you want Nick fired now?
- 35:33Speaker 3: Really? Really?
- 35:35Speaker 1: Okay, it happened, It does it's funny, all right. So
- 35:39Speaker 1: this will be an interesting week for the Eagles because
- 35:42Speaker 1: if they move things around them. First of all, practices
- 35:45Speaker 1: are summer are still open to the media, which is interesting.
- 35:47Speaker 1: The usually shut it down, but today Monday they're not
- 35:50Speaker 1: going to start practicing until twelve twenty. Tuesday night is
- 35:54Speaker 1: obviously the open practice at the Link that'll be around
- 35:57Speaker 1: six o'clock. Uh. And then Wednesday they're having a three
- 36:01Speaker 1: o'clock practice. I'm not quite sure why they all of
- 36:04Speaker 1: a sudden switched and decided to do all these funky
- 36:07Speaker 1: times And then of course thursdays to walk through before
- 36:09Speaker 1: Friday with games, but no more of those. I like
- 36:13Speaker 1: the morning practices, but now the afternoons. But that's good.
- 36:16Speaker 1: I'll be Monday, Wednesday, You're gonna be at the one
- 36:18Speaker 1: on Tuesday, so the Nicole will be at all of them.
- 36:20Speaker 1: So it's gonna be a big week here on Inside
- 36:23Speaker 1: the Birds. Is this roster cut down approaches and we'll
- 36:26Speaker 1: have a lot more intel going forward. That's gonna do
- 36:29Speaker 1: it for this episode of Inside the Birds, the leading
- 36:31Speaker 1: podcasts and Eagles Intel, and as always, we thank you
- 36:34Speaker 1: for flying with us. Inside the Birds
