Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, it's I Do Part two.
0:16
Speaker 2: I am one of your celebrity mentors, Bob Guinney from
0:18
Speaker 2: the Bachelor and The Today Show and of course the
0:20
Speaker 2: podcast I host with the lovely intalent In Trista Sutter
0:24
Speaker 2: nay Wren, almost famous to ogs. Today we have a
0:27
Speaker 2: repeat guest on the podcast, which is very exciting because
0:30
Speaker 2: you listeners love getting to know him at the beginning
0:32
Speaker 2: of his love journey. But now he's back because the
0:34
Speaker 2: season's over and he's chosen his person. I am talking
0:38
Speaker 2: about Farmer Matt from Fox's Farmer Wants a Wife, and
0:41
Speaker 2: today we were joined by the wonderful woman he chose, Chelsea. Sorry, guys,
0:45
Speaker 2: I'm in a hotel room in New York and they
0:46
Speaker 2: literally didn't have a room for me.
0:48
Speaker 1: So I'm running around and I just found this place.
0:52
Speaker 3: Nice rogue here.
0:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, totally.
0:56
Speaker 2: This could be tragic, but I don't know what's going
0:58
Speaker 2: to happen. So but before I lose you, guys, I
1:01
Speaker 2: want to get started so I can actually talk to
1:02
Speaker 2: you because I loved I loved watching this show. I
1:06
Speaker 2: had never watched your Farmer Wants a Wife. I'd never
1:10
Speaker 2: seen it before, so my first question, actually, Chelsea, is
1:12
Speaker 2: for you. So did you know that you were interested
1:18
Speaker 2: in a farmer or was it was it was it
1:21
Speaker 2: like a generic interest in that lifestyle for you or
1:24
Speaker 2: was it more of a thing where you were approached
1:26
Speaker 2: to be on this show and you were like, well,
1:28
Speaker 2: I'm open to being with someone if he's the right guy,
1:30
Speaker 2: and if he's a farmer, that's spectacular.
1:33
Speaker 1: Like how how did that? What was the chicken in
1:34
Speaker 1: the egg here? For you?
1:36
Speaker 4: Yeah? So I came from a ranching family.
1:40
Speaker 5: Both my mom and my dad's side, because I have
1:44
Speaker 5: ranches our entire life, so I've always had a passion
1:48
Speaker 5: for agriculture. I never ever thought I would be on
1:52
Speaker 5: a show trying to find love for with a farmer.
1:56
Speaker 5: But I was approached in my DMS on social media
2:00
Speaker 5: and I thought, you know what, why not give it
2:02
Speaker 5: a try. I did try to back out a few times,
2:07
Speaker 5: but the day before my roommate really just told me
2:11
Speaker 5: I needed to go help me pack my bags, and
2:13
Speaker 5: so I said, let's let's try it out.
2:16
Speaker 2: I love that and I love that that's how it
2:19
Speaker 2: happened because it's, you know, truthfully watching the show and
2:23
Speaker 2: watching the two of you, it was like that, and
2:25
Speaker 2: I and I'm you know, I don't know how much
2:27
Speaker 2: we're allowed to talk about where things are at today,
2:29
Speaker 2: but to me, you guys made perfect sense.
2:32
Speaker 1: Right.
2:32
Speaker 2: You both had that humble and kind demeanor. Both you
2:36
Speaker 2: could tell you both are hard workers, you have big
2:38
Speaker 2: family influence, and then you know you both are a
2:41
Speaker 2: little bit shy, right, not necessarily, you know, and admittedly
2:45
Speaker 2: for both of you guys, you know that this was
2:47
Speaker 2: your more reserved and I just thought it was interesting,
2:51
Speaker 2: you know, especially when your family showed up, Chelsea, just
2:53
Speaker 2: you know how Matt. They were both like, oh my god,
2:55
Speaker 2: this guy, like they are the same person, right, and
2:58
Speaker 2: that had to make you feel really good and real.
3:00
Speaker 1: I I would imagine that's a reaffirming feeling.
3:04
Speaker 4: Most definitely.
3:05
Speaker 5: Yeah, I think the approval of my mom and sister
3:08
Speaker 5: was much needed.
3:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I can imagine that has to feel good,
3:13
Speaker 2: and especially I'm sure it didn't hurt to you know,
3:16
Speaker 2: be watching the show back and find out that you're
3:18
Speaker 2: the only woman that Matt kissed on the show.
3:21
Speaker 1: That had to feel pretty good too.
3:23
Speaker 5: I think, Oh, yeah, don't worry. I asked him at
3:26
Speaker 5: least fifty times.
3:28
Speaker 1: I need to.
3:32
Speaker 3: Amen.
3:33
Speaker 2: Man, Oh my gosh, could you imagine because you wouldn't
3:35
Speaker 2: even think about that going into it, right, You go
3:38
Speaker 2: into it and you're thinking more about the fact of, Oh,
3:40
Speaker 2: I just hope I don't look stupid, you know, I
3:43
Speaker 2: don't want to embarrass myself, because I mean I was guys,
3:45
Speaker 2: I was the Bachelor twenty some years ago, right, So
3:47
Speaker 2: it was so new back then that it was like terrifying,
3:51
Speaker 2: And all I could think of was I don't want
3:52
Speaker 2: to embarrass my family, and you know, how do I do.
3:55
Speaker 1: This and navigate this? And especially I would think for
3:57
Speaker 1: you too, Matt.
3:58
Speaker 2: I mean, this is you know, this is your legacy
4:00
Speaker 2: and your career, and and so you go on to
4:03
Speaker 2: this show, and you know, were there any reservations for
4:06
Speaker 2: you before you went on?
4:07
Speaker 6: Or were you kind of gung home and ready to
4:09
Speaker 6: go oh big time somewhere to Chelsea, I was reached
4:12
Speaker 6: out to on social media and this is never something
4:14
Speaker 6: I would do an up until you know this a
4:16
Speaker 6: handful of years ago.
4:18
Speaker 7: I wasn't involved in farming at all, and so you know,
4:22
Speaker 7: which I explained on the show. But I you know,
4:25
Speaker 7: if you told me a couple of years back, I'd
4:27
Speaker 7: be on a show, you know, reality dating show about
4:29
Speaker 7: being a farmer. I you know, would have thought you
4:31
Speaker 7: were crazy, but I, you know, I never had planned
4:36
Speaker 7: on doing anything like that. And then obviously, you know,
4:38
Speaker 7: the they kind of just presented itself and it was
4:42
Speaker 7: kind of like a why not type of thing, and
4:45
Speaker 7: I as well, tried to back out several times, but
4:49
Speaker 7: at the end of the day, I was like, you know,
4:50
Speaker 7: it could just be a neat experience, and you know,
4:53
Speaker 7: obviously I'm very glad I did it.
4:54
Speaker 2: Now. Yeah, heck yeah, I mean, you guys both came
4:57
Speaker 2: off so great. I was very I was telling our
5:01
Speaker 2: producer that in watching the show, I'd heard about it obviously,
5:05
Speaker 2: and I'd seen clips here and there, but I hadn't
5:07
Speaker 2: been able to watch your guys season. I was just
5:09
Speaker 2: so captivated by the two of you that they were,
5:12
Speaker 2: you know, They're like, oh, you only really got to
5:13
Speaker 2: watch these last you know, three or four episodes.
5:16
Speaker 1: I went back, I told them the next day.
5:17
Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, I was up till two in the
5:19
Speaker 2: morning last night, guys, I watched the whole thing.
5:21
Speaker 1: I loved it. I love these two, and you know,
5:24
Speaker 1: I hope you don't.
5:25
Speaker 2: I hope you don't feel like I'm putting pressure on you, guys,
5:27
Speaker 2: but I do have to ask. I mean, obviously you're
5:29
Speaker 2: you're You've got some distance between you right now, right
5:32
Speaker 2: I mean, Chelsea's in Texas, Matt, You're in California.
5:35
Speaker 1: How has it been navigating that?
5:37
Speaker 2: Because that, you know, oftentimes I think the hardest part
5:39
Speaker 2: about these shows, and I lived it so and I
5:42
Speaker 2: speak from experience on this one. You're kind of thrust
5:46
Speaker 2: into all of this stuff that you weren't ever, you know,
5:49
Speaker 2: even prepared for, and people are asking you a bunch
5:52
Speaker 2: of questions and it creates pressure and tension where maybe
5:55
Speaker 2: there wouldn't necessarily need to be any in the first place,
5:57
Speaker 2: but now all of a sudden it's there because every
6:00
Speaker 2: ones you know, when do you guys, But it's almost
6:02
Speaker 2: like when you get engaged and like, so when you
6:03
Speaker 2: finally get engaged in.
6:05
Speaker 1: Now, they're like, so, when do we have a kids?
6:06
Speaker 2: You're like, we haven't gotten married yet, Like, you know,
6:09
Speaker 2: people just get so carried away with that stuff. Have
6:11
Speaker 2: you guys felt a lot of that pressure, especially because
6:14
Speaker 2: I feel like the two of you really, at least
6:17
Speaker 2: from my experience, while watching the show became the darlings
6:19
Speaker 2: of the show. Do you feel pressure from that? And
6:22
Speaker 2: how's the distance been, I'll ask you first, Matt.
6:25
Speaker 7: Yeah, it's definitely really tough. And you know I've said
6:28
Speaker 7: the same thing and I told Chelsea even on camera.
6:31
Speaker 7: I think one of the episodes is, yeah, this is
6:33
Speaker 7: really fun. This is a cool experience, and it's you know,
6:36
Speaker 7: partially for everyone's entertainment, but between her and I, it's
6:39
Speaker 7: an actual relationship. And you know, whether it be six months,
6:43
Speaker 7: a year or a few years down the road, like
6:44
Speaker 7: people are gonna forget about this show, and it really,
6:47
Speaker 7: you know, her and I are more important our relationship.
6:49
Speaker 7: So there's definitely that pressure, and especially lately, I think
6:52
Speaker 7: we both you know, it's coming out finally that it's
6:54
Speaker 7: her and I. You know, she was the one, so
6:56
Speaker 7: it's like, all right, we have to like give an answer.
6:58
Speaker 7: And I said the same thing I think guys I
7:00
Speaker 7: did back then. It's like, you know, we can, we
7:03
Speaker 7: can do what we want because our roast chip comes first,
7:06
Speaker 7: you know where we're at. So yeah, there's a ton
7:09
Speaker 7: of that pressure and it's been you know, challenging because
7:11
Speaker 7: we're distances apart and excuse.
7:14
Speaker 1: Me one second. Are you guys having your meeting in here?
7:17
Speaker 2: Okay, guys, this is horrible. I'm getting chicked out of
7:21
Speaker 2: this room.
7:21
Speaker 1: Okay, no problem, Yeah, no problem. Let me get out
7:24
Speaker 1: of your hair. Guys. I swear this isn't normally how
7:26
Speaker 1: we do this show.
7:27
Speaker 3: That's fine.
7:38
Speaker 1: I met a very nice lady. Can you guys hear me? Still? Yeah? Okay?
7:42
Speaker 1: She was awesome? All right?
7:43
Speaker 2: So I got to ask you the question, Matt, which
7:45
Speaker 2: I actually loved your answer and was listening.
7:47
Speaker 1: By the way, Chelsea, how about for you?
7:50
Speaker 2: I mean, how's been your reaction to obviously the show
7:53
Speaker 2: coming out, everyone knowing it's you, guys, and now you're
7:55
Speaker 2: kind of at this point where you know the distance
7:58
Speaker 2: might start to feel like something you have to think about.
8:01
Speaker 5: Right right, I will definitely go off of what Matt said.
8:08
Speaker 5: I think especially I think it's the morning after the finale.
8:13
Speaker 4: You know, Matt and I have been taking things really slow.
8:16
Speaker 5: That's just who we are, that's our personality type, and
8:18
Speaker 5: I think that's what we both love about each other.
8:21
Speaker 5: And so after the finale came out, it's like the
8:24
Speaker 5: next morning, you're just reading all this stuff about people's
8:27
Speaker 5: opinions on your relationships and how it's going.
8:31
Speaker 4: And then you know, Matt has.
8:33
Speaker 5: These pulls up like we're in a boxing ring against
8:36
Speaker 5: me and Georgia, and so you know, that just added
8:43
Speaker 5: to it, and so I see, I think on Friday
8:47
Speaker 5: morning it was a relief that after you know, six seven,
8:51
Speaker 5: eight months, everything was out, there was no longer a secret.
8:55
Speaker 5: But it was also you know, there was a little
8:57
Speaker 5: bit of a clock back and just reading things that
9:00
Speaker 5: you know might not be true or that you don't
9:02
Speaker 5: agree with, and just having to stand firm and in
9:06
Speaker 5: who we know that we both are in the relationship.
9:09
Speaker 4: That we do have.
9:11
Speaker 1: I you know.
9:11
Speaker 2: So it's funny because I was going to ask you
9:13
Speaker 2: about that too, because you know, the oldest editing trick
9:16
Speaker 2: in the book on every dating relationship show, by the way,
9:18
Speaker 2: is we can't let everyone know who the obvious winner is, right,
9:21
Speaker 2: so they always make you think And it's a lot
9:24
Speaker 2: of editing that goes into that, and I can attest
9:26
Speaker 2: to that from my personal experiences, but they always make
9:29
Speaker 2: you think it's the other person, just so that there's
9:31
Speaker 2: a surprise, right, there's a surprise reveal at the end.
9:33
Speaker 2: So even if everyone's already feeling like, oh, it's got
9:35
Speaker 2: to be Chelsea, right they then you have that shred
9:38
Speaker 2: of doubt that maybe, I don't know, maybe it could
9:40
Speaker 2: be Jordan. And you know, I wondered how that felt,
9:43
Speaker 2: because I remember personally when I chose the woman that
9:48
Speaker 2: I chose on a Bachelor. The next day, getting driving
9:52
Speaker 2: to the Today Show and listening to the radio and
9:56
Speaker 2: in the car them talking about how it should have
9:58
Speaker 2: been the other person, and I'm like, oh my god,
10:01
Speaker 2: like I hadn't we hadn't had a chance to see
10:04
Speaker 2: anything because it was kind of in real time.
10:05
Speaker 1: The finale HA just aired in the next morning. We
10:07
Speaker 1: flew through the night. The next morning we're there.
10:10
Speaker 2: And and it was so gut wrenching for me to
10:13
Speaker 2: have to listen to that when I'm like, but what
10:17
Speaker 2: what are they talking about?
10:17
Speaker 1: This connection was always like really, you know, firm, And
10:22
Speaker 1: so I wondered how that felt.
10:24
Speaker 2: And I love your honesty about it because I think
10:26
Speaker 2: for me, I've got twenty years behind me now where
10:28
Speaker 2: I can speak so candidly about it, because you know,
10:30
Speaker 2: it was twenty years ago, and you know, but I
10:32
Speaker 2: would imagine for y'all, it's got to be a little
10:34
Speaker 2: more fresh and a little more raw.
10:35
Speaker 1: So good for you guys on working through that together.
10:38
Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, there's you know, in these days social media,
10:42
Speaker 7: there's just so much out there, you know, so better
10:45
Speaker 7: to not read a lot of that stuff. But everyone's
10:46
Speaker 7: got their opinions on how you should have handled but
10:48
Speaker 7: not kind of think it's like sure whatever, you know.
10:51
Speaker 2: Well, I love hearing that you guys are working together
10:54
Speaker 2: with you know, on the distance, any plans in the process,
10:58
Speaker 2: not to put any heat on you because I know
11:00
Speaker 2: I just said that I didn't want to do that,
11:01
Speaker 2: but here I am. Any thoughts on that or are
11:04
Speaker 2: you guys spending some time together like maybe I know
11:07
Speaker 2: you were just traveling Chelsea, Like are there things that
11:09
Speaker 2: you guys can do together to make sure you're keeping
11:12
Speaker 2: that connection fresh and fun.
11:14
Speaker 3: Yeah.
11:14
Speaker 7: Well, I tried to talk her into buying an RV
11:16
Speaker 7: and traveling around the country, but she wasn't very into
11:18
Speaker 7: that idea. So so for.
11:21
Speaker 5: Now, maybe a weekend trip. I'm not doing that full time.
11:25
Speaker 1: There you go, that's a lot of work. It's a
11:27
Speaker 1: lot of work.
11:28
Speaker 7: Luckily, we have a direct flight from my city to Dallas,
11:31
Speaker 7: so that's you know, Mike, it ten times easier to
11:34
Speaker 7: see each other. And all the traveling I've been doing
11:36
Speaker 7: for press, I try to always put my connection through
11:38
Speaker 7: Dallas so we can spend.
11:40
Speaker 1: A little time there.
11:41
Speaker 7: But you know, it's it's your What I always tell
11:44
Speaker 7: people is you're starting a relationship long distance. Most people
11:48
Speaker 7: that do long distance, you you know, maybe data for
11:50
Speaker 7: six months and then one person has to move away
11:52
Speaker 7: or something. But you know, we're like trying to get
11:54
Speaker 7: to know each other, you know, off the bat are
11:58
Speaker 7: you being separated. So it's it's point is tough, but
12:02
Speaker 7: I think that it goes to show people, you know,
12:05
Speaker 7: how much we do care about each other.
12:06
Speaker 3: Just because it's been eight months of that and we're
12:08
Speaker 3: still till year or so.
12:10
Speaker 2: I'll just say this, it was obvious how much you
12:12
Speaker 2: guys cared about each other. It was not It didn't
12:14
Speaker 2: seem like a one sided thing to me at all.
12:16
Speaker 2: In fact, it seemed very mutual. And you know, I
12:19
Speaker 2: happened to be part of the legacy of the show
12:21
Speaker 2: that actually, like from the Bachelor stuff where this did
12:23
Speaker 2: work right Tristan and Ryan, where my season I started
12:26
Speaker 2: up on Tristan's season of the Bachelorette, and they are
12:30
Speaker 2: like the gold standard when it comes to reality show
12:32
Speaker 2: couples because they put each other first, right, So it
12:36
Speaker 2: wasn't like one of them's off, you know, chasing a
12:38
Speaker 2: you know, trying to be the new extra correspondent or something.
12:41
Speaker 1: They put each other first made.
12:43
Speaker 2: Their relationship paramount for them and it really did work.
12:46
Speaker 2: And I just feel like with your I mean, you're
12:49
Speaker 2: both incredibly good.
12:49
Speaker 1: Look at people. If you wanted to do all that
12:51
Speaker 1: kind of stuff, I know you could.
12:52
Speaker 2: But I just feel like with your personalities, it strikes
12:55
Speaker 2: me that you guys will kind of be like that
12:57
Speaker 2: where you'll be like, you know what, this was an awesome.
12:59
Speaker 1: Experience, but we're good.
13:00
Speaker 2: You know, let's get our privacy back, let's have our
13:02
Speaker 2: lives back and take advantage of some of those opportunities together.
13:05
Speaker 2: But you know, not when it's like interfering with you all.
13:09
Speaker 1: I'm working. Oh no, she just told me I could
13:15
Speaker 1: just finish this in here. Well, guys, I'm getting kicked out.
13:20
Speaker 3: It's all right.
13:31
Speaker 1: They freed me from hotel prison guys. Oh no, oh
13:38
Speaker 1: my gosh.
13:40
Speaker 2: So you know, I'm also I'm in New York right
13:42
Speaker 2: now because i do stuff with the Today Show, and
13:44
Speaker 2: so they put me in a room that wasn't my room,
13:48
Speaker 2: which was which is what all I originally asked for.
13:50
Speaker 1: And now I'm in this incredible suite. So I guess
13:53
Speaker 1: it all works out.
13:54
Speaker 3: Who knew?
13:55
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I appreciate you guys being patient and sticking
13:58
Speaker 2: with me. Thank you very very much for that. Any
14:00
Speaker 2: anything great happened while we were apart. I mean it's
14:03
Speaker 2: been about three hours, you know.
14:04
Speaker 1: Any updates?
14:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, we got engaged in the last couple of hours.
14:07
Speaker 2: Yes, Chelsea made the move. Chelsea's already on our way
14:10
Speaker 2: to Cali. I love it.
14:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, let me know where I can send that invoice.
14:15
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yeah, we get you out of carrots. Oh damn,
14:19
Speaker 1: I love it. You know.
14:21
Speaker 2: I see part of you wants to make a farmer
14:23
Speaker 2: joke there about carrots, but I know that that's not
14:25
Speaker 2: your that's not your produce, that's not what you do.
14:27
Speaker 2: So yeah, guys, just to recap, I would I had
14:31
Speaker 2: never seen the show before, but I'm now big fans,
14:33
Speaker 2: not only.
14:34
Speaker 1: The show, but also of the two of you and
14:35
Speaker 1: your relationship. I feel. And again, these podcasts end up
14:40
Speaker 1: being about what I feel.
14:42
Speaker 2: It's not even right for me to do it, but
14:44
Speaker 2: it is I feel like too oftentimes when shows like
14:48
Speaker 2: this come along, right, it's not really people that are
14:51
Speaker 2: looking for.
14:51
Speaker 1: Love, do you know what I mean.
14:53
Speaker 2: It's people that are looking for like a tooth whitening
14:55
Speaker 2: kit deal, or maybe they want to have gummy bears
14:57
Speaker 2: that make their hair shine, and so they're looking for
14:59
Speaker 2: that kind of cra and they want to post it
15:00
Speaker 2: on Instagram and.
15:01
Speaker 1: Then if they fall in love, well, wouldn't that be nice?
15:04
Speaker 2: But the two of you seem to both obviously in
15:07
Speaker 2: Matt's case, obviously I know that to be true, but
15:09
Speaker 2: also for you, Chelsea, you both had your own careers
15:12
Speaker 2: going on, You have your own things going on. This
15:14
Speaker 2: was almost like a whimsical let's take a chance and
15:16
Speaker 2: see what happens for both of you because you both
15:18
Speaker 2: tried to bail in the eleventh hour, which I also
15:21
Speaker 2: love that story. But I just think it's so great
15:25
Speaker 2: when you see someone come through something like this and
15:28
Speaker 2: you know, and I know there's always these haters that exist,
15:31
Speaker 2: because believe me, I still get it twenty some years later,
15:33
Speaker 2: but I think it's great when you're comfortable, confident in
15:37
Speaker 2: who you are you know who you both are. I
15:38
Speaker 2: saw that you cannot lie about on television that comes
15:41
Speaker 2: through people recognize when people are faking it, and you
15:44
Speaker 2: guys weren't. Your families both confirmed that, and then the
15:48
Speaker 2: two of you just find each other and now it's like, yeah,
15:51
Speaker 2: you know, it sucks sometimes because we live far apart,
15:53
Speaker 2: but we're doing everything we can to make it work.
15:54
Speaker 2: Also honest, also a great answer. Also not bs, and
15:58
Speaker 2: I love that. So I'm just excited for you guys.
16:02
Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I love that we were just
16:03
Speaker 2: talking about an engagement because I do want to say
16:06
Speaker 2: it is.
16:06
Speaker 1: Called you know, farmer wants a wife. So I mean,
16:09
Speaker 1: no one got engaged at the end of the season.
16:12
Speaker 2: You guys were the ones that, obviously, I think America
16:14
Speaker 2: wanted to see get engaged. So you have a lot
16:17
Speaker 2: of people now invested in your relationship. So has that
16:21
Speaker 2: conversation had had before we got kicked out of the
16:23
Speaker 2: hotel where we were almost getting there? Has this conversation
16:26
Speaker 2: started to happen or is it more like, hey, let's
16:29
Speaker 2: just keep going the way we're going and maybe we'll
16:32
Speaker 2: try to get together more.
16:33
Speaker 1: I mean, where are you guys at with that?
16:34
Speaker 2: Kind of conversation because I know you're getting asked that
16:36
Speaker 2: one a lot. Yeah.
16:38
Speaker 3: Likely.
16:38
Speaker 7: I think we're naturally kind of on the same page,
16:40
Speaker 7: Chelsea and I. You know, we're both at the point
16:45
Speaker 7: where we have dated in the past. I've been through
16:47
Speaker 7: multiple relationships and that kind of thing, and so I
16:50
Speaker 7: think I can speak for both of us when we're
16:52
Speaker 7: really not looking at like, you know, it's easy just
16:55
Speaker 7: because this whole thing's so hyped up to want to
16:57
Speaker 7: like jump it out there and be like, yeah, we're together,
17:00
Speaker 7: we're in love, might kind of just go along with
17:02
Speaker 7: that narrative, I guess you could say, which I'm not
17:04
Speaker 7: saying that's.
17:04
Speaker 3: Not the case.
17:05
Speaker 7: But we I think are both just being very careful
17:10
Speaker 7: and taking it the you know, with the direction that
17:13
Speaker 7: we're going with this, and making sure we really get
17:15
Speaker 7: to know each other and in all these details about
17:17
Speaker 7: each other that you don't learn on the show. Yeah,
17:20
Speaker 7: you know, that's kind of stuff that takes time to develop.
17:23
Speaker 7: And so I think we've both been on that same page.
17:26
Speaker 7: And in addition to that too, there's just so much
17:28
Speaker 7: noise going on, especially for me, you know, over the
17:31
Speaker 7: past however many months, as this show comes out everywhere
17:35
Speaker 7: you go, everything you hear talk about people are asking
17:38
Speaker 7: you about it and talking about it, and yeah, talking
17:40
Speaker 7: about the other girls in their opinion on them and
17:42
Speaker 7: all that, and it's like, you know, there's so much
17:44
Speaker 7: noise all the time that now I think at this point,
17:46
Speaker 7: it's like people realize it's Chelsea and I and so
17:49
Speaker 7: we can really focus more on each other.
17:51
Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I love that. I think that's I think
17:54
Speaker 1: that's a great answer.
17:55
Speaker 2: I mean, you know you don't because you also, like
17:58
Speaker 2: you said, you know it's I. When I at the
18:00
Speaker 2: end of my season of The Batchler, I did not propose.
18:02
Speaker 2: I got a lot of grief for it. And the
18:05
Speaker 2: primary reason why I didn't was I literally said, you know,
18:10
Speaker 2: I think we'd get along great, but how are we
18:11
Speaker 2: going to get along without a bunch of cameras in
18:13
Speaker 2: our face. I'd like to see how that goes, too.
18:15
Speaker 2: And you know, back then I got grief for it.
18:18
Speaker 2: Now I feel like I feel like that is the
18:20
Speaker 2: right choice, especially for the two of your personalities. You know,
18:24
Speaker 2: obviously people are always gonna want that pressure and want
18:26
Speaker 2: to see that engagement in the big happy ending, but
18:29
Speaker 2: that happy ending can be whenever it is that you
18:31
Speaker 2: two want it to be. And you know you mentioned it, Matt,
18:34
Speaker 2: so you went there. I got to oh there, I
18:36
Speaker 2: got to ask a question. You said, you know that
18:38
Speaker 2: you find out things about each other when you're off
18:40
Speaker 2: the show.
18:42
Speaker 1: What kind of things?
18:43
Speaker 2: Because obviously, you guys see like such a great personal
18:46
Speaker 2: personality Max on the match on the show.
18:48
Speaker 1: What were some of the things that you found out
18:49
Speaker 1: away from the show?
18:50
Speaker 2: Like are are you as great of a personality match
18:52
Speaker 2: as you guys thought you would be? And are you
18:54
Speaker 2: seeing you know that Wow, we were right. You know,
18:57
Speaker 2: we can't get this thing right, Like, where are you
18:59
Speaker 2: guys at with that?
19:00
Speaker 3: I think it?
19:01
Speaker 7: You know, for me, a big part of it, or
19:03
Speaker 7: for both of us, is we're both very social and
19:05
Speaker 7: we're both very involved with our families. So our family
19:08
Speaker 7: and our friends is a huge part of it. And
19:10
Speaker 7: so in relationships in the past, you know, you bring
19:13
Speaker 7: a girl around your friends and they're like, yeah, you know,
19:16
Speaker 7: she's nice, but you know, but so really important for
19:19
Speaker 7: me and I think Chelsea too, for our families and
19:22
Speaker 7: our friends to be not only improving but supporting. And
19:26
Speaker 7: that's one of the biggest things is over these last
19:29
Speaker 7: few months. You know, we've really gotten to spend some
19:31
Speaker 7: time getting to each other's family, friends, and that's really well.
19:35
Speaker 3: So I think that was kind of a big, huge
19:37
Speaker 3: feel least.
19:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, you want to have that buy in. How about
19:40
Speaker 1: for you, Chelsea? How has that been for you?
19:42
Speaker 4: Yeah?
19:43
Speaker 5: I will definitely agree with what Matt said there. We're
19:46
Speaker 5: both very social and so kind of bringing Matt into
19:49
Speaker 5: that and getting him to me all of my.
19:52
Speaker 4: Friends and family has been very special for me. Everyone
19:55
Speaker 4: loves him.
19:56
Speaker 5: I'll speak for him when I say all of his
19:58
Speaker 5: friends like me more than they like him.
20:02
Speaker 2: Hey, I know my wife, I will tell you the
20:04
Speaker 2: same thing about my friends.
20:05
Speaker 1: I agree with that. One. That's been matters and is good.
20:08
Speaker 6: Yeah.
20:08
Speaker 5: No, but it has been great to see both of
20:10
Speaker 5: our personalities kind of mixed in the real world.
20:13
Speaker 4: That's a lot more sweet than I am.
20:15
Speaker 5: I'm a little bit more sassy, But I think it's
20:18
Speaker 5: a great mix between the two of us.
20:20
Speaker 4: We are both very social.
20:21
Speaker 5: We have big friend groups and they have big families,
20:24
Speaker 5: and those are very important to us.
20:25
Speaker 4: And so I think especially like right after the.
20:27
Speaker 5: Finale, I had a huge trip and so everyone's like,
20:30
Speaker 5: where's Matt. It's like this has been planned for a year,
20:34
Speaker 5: and in the next few weekends, same situation. I have
20:37
Speaker 5: plans that have been planned and he has his. And
20:40
Speaker 5: that doesn't mean that we aren't together.
20:42
Speaker 4: That just means that we're good at living, living separately
20:46
Speaker 4: but also together.
20:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the best couples are in all honestly,
20:50
Speaker 2: I mean, I really do you know. I look, it
20:52
Speaker 2: took me a lot of getting married before I found
20:54
Speaker 2: my wife. I'm not going to kid you guys on
20:55
Speaker 2: that one. Kind of an embarrassing stat there, but the
20:58
Speaker 2: truth is, you know, it doesn't matter. It matters when
21:01
Speaker 2: you're getting it right. It matters that you nurture it right.
21:03
Speaker 2: And so you you keep that and you and you
21:06
Speaker 2: respect one another. And you know, I mean FaceTime wasn't
21:08
Speaker 2: even around, uh, you know, when I did The Bachelor,
21:11
Speaker 2: so I would imagine there's probably a lot of face
21:13
Speaker 2: timing going on, right.
21:15
Speaker 7: Yeah, that's huge, And I think people forget already that
21:20
Speaker 7: that technology really makes a huge difference. You know, being
21:23
Speaker 7: able to see see each other, you know, is a
21:26
Speaker 7: big part of it. So that definitely helps. But i'd like,
21:29
Speaker 7: you know, brothers here in person obviously absolutely does.
21:32
Speaker 2: The time zone hurt a little bit. I mean, I
21:35
Speaker 2: imagine sometimes it probably does.
21:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, we go to bed at the same time.
21:39
Speaker 5: Yeah, we go to bed at the same time. I'm
21:41
Speaker 5: a night out and he's.
21:42
Speaker 3: A more before. So that's awesome.
21:50
Speaker 1: So guys, I mean we talked a little bit about.
21:52
Speaker 2: Obviously the two of you being the ones that I
21:54
Speaker 2: just fell in love with on the show, and I
21:56
Speaker 2: know America did too, but there are obviously some other
21:58
Speaker 2: couples on the show too.
22:00
Speaker 1: You know.
22:00
Speaker 2: One of the ones that's kind of gotten a lot
22:02
Speaker 2: of grief is Colton, right, because he was sort of like, well,
22:07
Speaker 2: you know, I'm not really looking for anything serious, but
22:09
Speaker 2: yet I want to make out with everybody, and then
22:10
Speaker 2: at the end of the thing, it's like, I'll take
22:12
Speaker 2: the one that's less serious. And I mean see, I
22:15
Speaker 2: was actually prepared for this guy though, I really was,
22:17
Speaker 2: because I even said to somebody, I was like, well,
22:20
Speaker 2: I know there's one guy is that, like, I guess
22:23
Speaker 2: makes out with everybody and then in the end he
22:26
Speaker 2: basically is kind of like, well, you know, I'm going
22:28
Speaker 2: to go this direction. And the girl I can't remember
22:32
Speaker 2: the name of her that kind of called him on it,
22:34
Speaker 2: but she was like, oh, so you guys aren't.
22:36
Speaker 1: I guess that makes me feel better. You're not gonna
22:38
Speaker 1: be serious with her either, and he was.
22:39
Speaker 2: Like, hold on, hold on, and he had to kind
22:41
Speaker 2: of backtrack, right, and he had to a So I
22:44
Speaker 2: mean from that perspective, I feel like he kind of
22:46
Speaker 2: got himself in some heat and he's been feeling the
22:49
Speaker 2: wrath of that. But I also found out that they're
22:51
Speaker 2: not together anyway, So now he just looks like a
22:53
Speaker 2: total player, right, And so I mean they're going to
22:56
Speaker 2: see that a lot too. From I think shows like these,
22:58
Speaker 2: you know, and when you do you never want to
23:01
Speaker 2: be that guy, right, You want to be you want
23:03
Speaker 2: to be the Matt and Chelsea man.
23:05
Speaker 1: You want to be the ones that like said things
23:06
Speaker 1: to each other that were true and you honored it.
23:09
Speaker 2: And I think I just, guys, I don't think. I
23:12
Speaker 2: don't know if you could tell, I'm a big fan.
23:13
Speaker 2: So really, you guys made fans out of me from
23:16
Speaker 2: this show, and I think that's going to be horrible
23:18
Speaker 2: for me moving forward, because I mean, now if they
23:22
Speaker 2: don't have another casting couple like you, I'm gonna be
23:24
Speaker 2: all pissed off.
23:25
Speaker 3: So I got a big line I'm sure, I.
23:29
Speaker 1: Hope so man.
23:30
Speaker 2: So now, okay, you mentioned the families get together. You know,
23:33
Speaker 2: have gotten together a little bit obviously. You know as
23:37
Speaker 2: a I've been married now since twenty sixteen, so going
23:41
Speaker 2: in nine years of marriage.
23:42
Speaker 1: Here my wife.
23:43
Speaker 2: My wife lives in California, well lived in California. We
23:46
Speaker 2: met while we were there, and then I moved her
23:47
Speaker 2: back to Michigan. Okay, so yeah, I know Texon and
23:52
Speaker 2: a California. I mean, Michigan weather is not appealing to
23:55
Speaker 2: either one of you. But and it wasn't to my
23:57
Speaker 2: wife either. But you know, the big plans started talking about,
24:00
Speaker 2: well the holidays, right, Obviously, we love each other, we
24:02
Speaker 2: care about one another, We want to be together for
24:04
Speaker 2: the holidays. Have you guys started to have those kind
24:06
Speaker 2: of conversations and if so, what are our plans so
24:10
Speaker 2: I can come see you guys and hang out.
24:14
Speaker 1: Hey, guys, I'm en route. Here we go.
24:17
Speaker 7: Yeah, that's a tough one, but you know, regardless of distance,
24:21
Speaker 7: that happens in any family. And I have, you know,
24:23
Speaker 7: three siblings, they're all married and they're you know where
24:26
Speaker 7: families are all split up and all that kind of stuff.
24:28
Speaker 7: So yeah, it's definitely a bummer. I wish everyone lived,
24:31
Speaker 7: you know, down the street from me, but unfortunately this
24:34
Speaker 7: is not realistic. And I think the biggest part is,
24:37
Speaker 7: you know, as I've gotten older, I've learned that wherever we're,
24:41
Speaker 7: you know, my wife will be in my family.
24:43
Speaker 3: That just comes first.
24:44
Speaker 7: And then you know, unfortunately it's that not to be
24:46
Speaker 7: with everybody all at once. But you know, I'm trying
24:51
Speaker 7: to start my own family here, and so as much
24:53
Speaker 7: as I love mine that I have, now you.
24:56
Speaker 3: Know that's going to have to take priorities.
24:57
Speaker 7: So but in addition to that, I mean, we're so
25:01
Speaker 7: both of us are so fortunate to have you know,
25:03
Speaker 7: great parents and siblings and all that kind of stuff.
25:05
Speaker 7: And yeah, you know, I think it's fun in a
25:09
Speaker 7: way to be able to do that because I love Texas.
25:12
Speaker 7: I used to live there, so any so I get
25:15
Speaker 7: to go see Chelsea or go visit her family and
25:17
Speaker 7: her friends. It's like that's works out for me. I mean,
25:20
Speaker 7: I want to go out there anyways right now.
25:22
Speaker 2: I'm sure having a predisposition to Texas is helpful, right,
25:26
Speaker 2: I mean, it's such a great state too.
25:28
Speaker 3: I think she doesn't mind it out here too much.
25:30
Speaker 1: Yeah, what about you, Chelsea.
25:32
Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll say similar to Matt, I also have three
25:35
Speaker 5: siblings who are either married or in a relationship. And
25:39
Speaker 5: also us being thirty, I think, you know, our family
25:42
Speaker 5: is a little bit more gracious with the time that
25:46
Speaker 5: we've spend with them and away from them, and both
25:50
Speaker 5: families support the relationship and really excited, and so it's
25:54
Speaker 5: gone well so far. Not to say there won't be
25:57
Speaker 5: bumps in the road. Texas is a long ways from California,
26:01
Speaker 5: but we're trying our best to split time.
26:05
Speaker 2: No, I love it. Another honest answer. God, you guys,
26:08
Speaker 2: you're killing me right now with all this wonderfulness. Okay,
26:11
Speaker 2: so I have one more question for you. A lot
26:14
Speaker 2: of times, especially for two people like yourselves, both you know,
26:17
Speaker 2: really attractive, really honest, really in love, right, opportunities will
26:22
Speaker 2: come along, right, So, I don't know, you know, it
26:25
Speaker 2: might be like a Dancing with the Stars type of opportunity,
26:28
Speaker 2: or Traders, or you know these other reality shows that
26:30
Speaker 2: are out there that they just love to latch onto
26:33
Speaker 2: the most popular people from a show like this one
26:35
Speaker 2: that's really kind of taking off. If something like that
26:38
Speaker 2: were to come along, would you guys consider it would
26:41
Speaker 2: you guys think, you know, hey, maybe this is something
26:43
Speaker 2: that we do or or I mean, is that something that.
26:46
Speaker 1: Just wouldn't even be on the radar for you? And
26:48
Speaker 1: I'll ask Chelsea this question first.
26:51
Speaker 5: Well, I'm seeing Matt's dancing skills and they aren't up
26:55
Speaker 5: to par with Dancing with the Stars.
27:01
Speaker 4: I think I think we'd be open to something else.
27:05
Speaker 5: I think our first shot we were both shy and
27:08
Speaker 5: a little bothered by the cameras. So I think now
27:10
Speaker 5: we're more open, we're more comfortable, our personalities come out more,
27:15
Speaker 5: and so you know, yeah, maybe another shot, we would
27:17
Speaker 5: try something else.
27:19
Speaker 1: That's a good one. How about for you, Matt?
27:21
Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't think either of us set out to
27:24
Speaker 7: do that, because there's so many people in reality TV
27:26
Speaker 7: now that are doing it for that sole purpose, and
27:29
Speaker 7: you know, for me, it was more of just you know,
27:31
Speaker 7: an interesting experience with hopefully finding somebody. But you know,
27:35
Speaker 7: at this point we're here, we did it, or we're
27:38
Speaker 7: pretty used to being on camera and all that, and
27:40
Speaker 7: so you know, really just depend on what it was.
27:43
Speaker 3: I think we both be opened to it.
27:44
Speaker 7: And you know, there's there's some opportunities out there, and
27:48
Speaker 7: it's like, why not already here?
27:49
Speaker 2: You know, yeah, hey, you've already done the hard Part's
27:52
Speaker 2: over right. The hard part was yeah first time.
27:55
Speaker 1: You know.
27:56
Speaker 2: So does how does the farm work? I mean, because
27:59
Speaker 2: I would imagine it's a pretty demanding lifestyle. How does
28:02
Speaker 2: it work when you're doing all this filming?
28:04
Speaker 4: Is it?
28:04
Speaker 2: Do you do you have a lot of people that
28:05
Speaker 2: can help you or are you sort of like picking
28:08
Speaker 2: up the slack?
28:09
Speaker 3: Yeah?
28:09
Speaker 7: To be honest, you get that all the time, like,
28:11
Speaker 7: well shouldn't you? You know, we're working at the farm
28:13
Speaker 7: and all that kind of stuff, But our business just
28:15
Speaker 7: really doesn't run like that. You know, it is owned
28:17
Speaker 7: by my brother and sister in law, so you know,
28:20
Speaker 7: they can survive without me. I guess this is what
28:22
Speaker 7: I'm trying to say, I think, And you know, it's
28:26
Speaker 7: an established business. The farm has been through the family
28:29
Speaker 7: for the last twenty years, so we've got you know,
28:32
Speaker 7: employees that have been there for a long time.
28:34
Speaker 3: Stuff on a schedule.
28:35
Speaker 7: The seasons are relatively you know, the same every year
28:39
Speaker 7: as far as win. Stuff starts and stops, and so
28:42
Speaker 7: you know, there's always a million things to do. The
28:44
Speaker 7: more people the better, and of course, you know, being
28:47
Speaker 7: there is helpful obviously. Yeah, yeah, it does come with
28:51
Speaker 7: challenges being gone. But you know, at the end of
28:53
Speaker 7: the day, you know, I think finding your right person
28:57
Speaker 7: and making that works more important. So the rest well, yeah,
29:00
Speaker 7: not to say take the back burner, but you.
29:03
Speaker 1: Know it'll work itself out right.
29:05
Speaker 3: Thinks are more important.
29:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, some things are way more important.
29:09
Speaker 2: Man. I think you guys got your priorities right where
29:10
Speaker 2: they need to be. Well, I just want to say
29:12
Speaker 2: thank you, guys, thanks for bearing with me for you know,
29:15
Speaker 2: having my security concerns here at my hotel, and for
29:19
Speaker 2: being a part of the show.
29:20
Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it's kind of funny this show.
29:23
Speaker 2: You know, it's called I Do Part two, right, and
29:25
Speaker 2: it's kind of about finding people finding love and you know,
29:28
Speaker 2: the second time around.
29:29
Speaker 1: And I love that. I feel like you guys got
29:31
Speaker 1: it right the first time around. And so I'm a.
29:33
Speaker 2: Fan obviously, very clear about that, but more so just
29:38
Speaker 2: the way you guys are as people like I really enjoy.
29:40
Speaker 2: I'm glad you're who I thought you were going to
29:42
Speaker 2: be when we got to talk today. So I really
29:44
Speaker 2: love that and I appreciate that. And I think, you know,
29:48
Speaker 2: I've been in this weird reality TV show you know
29:50
Speaker 2: thing for twenty two years, and you will be shocked
29:54
Speaker 2: at the opportunities. But I think that when you're honest
29:56
Speaker 2: with who you are, and you're honest about you know
29:59
Speaker 2: why you're there, it's just you're right now, you will
30:02
Speaker 2: have more and more opportunities that will present themselves because
30:05
Speaker 2: they're going to look for guys like you.
30:06
Speaker 1: For you and Chelsea in particular, like, oh well, I
30:09
Speaker 1: love them on the show, Let's have them on this one.
30:10
Speaker 2: Maybe they'll bring that same energy and help us with
30:13
Speaker 2: the rest of the cast who might be absolute disasters. Right,
30:16
Speaker 2: So you guys I think would bring some consistency and
30:20
Speaker 2: some kindness to that and it would be really lovely
30:22
Speaker 2: to see. So I'll watch that show too when the
30:24
Speaker 2: time comes.
30:27
Speaker 3: Well hopefully not to that would be you know.
30:29
Speaker 7: One thing I've realized is since the show is in
30:32
Speaker 7: the farming and ag western space, a lot of the
30:36
Speaker 7: things me and you know, the other.
30:37
Speaker 3: Guys I've gotten invited to go do has been awesome.
30:40
Speaker 7: I mean, we're going to rodeos, we're doing you know,
30:43
Speaker 7: country music events and stuff, and I think for Chelsea
30:46
Speaker 7: and act those are those are our type of people.
30:47
Speaker 7: It's a really good, you know, a really good crowd,
30:51
Speaker 7: and it's the kind of people we like, and and
30:54
Speaker 7: so I think, you know, all the stuff we've been
30:56
Speaker 7: getting to do and hopefully more so coming up is
30:58
Speaker 7: around that space. It's just, you know, such a good
31:01
Speaker 7: time and such neat opportunity, so well.
31:04
Speaker 1: Maybe maybe you'll get So.
31:05
Speaker 2: My favorite job that I ever got after being the Bachelor,
31:09
Speaker 2: as I got hired to host the CMA Music Festival
31:12
Speaker 2: down in Nashville.
31:13
Speaker 1: I did it for seven years, you guys. It was amazing.
31:16
Speaker 2: Oh my god, I loved it. And I lost my
31:19
Speaker 2: gig to Taylor Swift and Julianne Huff.
31:21
Speaker 1: I mean, are you kidding?
31:26
Speaker 2: Oh my god. When they told me who was who
31:27
Speaker 2: was replacing me, because I was so hurt, I'm like,
31:29
Speaker 2: I love this job. They're like, well, we're gonna have
31:31
Speaker 2: Juliane Huff and Taylor Swift do it. I'm like, oh, well,
31:34
Speaker 2: I guess that makes perfect sense.
31:37
Speaker 1: You guys will have me.
31:38
Speaker 2: Yeah whatever, you guys, I've run my course here.
31:41
Speaker 1: No, but yeah, I was gonna do it, you guys.
31:45
Speaker 2: I was gonna tell I was gonna tell you guys now,
31:47
Speaker 2: But I did accept the invitation every time they invited me,
31:49
Speaker 2: So please continue doing that. You know, don't be afraid
31:52
Speaker 2: to put yourselves out there, and I know you're not
31:54
Speaker 2: asking for advice, but put each other first. And I
31:58
Speaker 2: think that you'll find that this opportunity, because I do
32:01
Speaker 2: feel like going on a show like this, whether it's
32:04
Speaker 2: becoming friends with the guys like I did on Trista's season,
32:07
Speaker 2: or I mean the women that were on my season
32:09
Speaker 2: The Bachelor. I'm still friendly with a lot of them,
32:11
Speaker 2: and it's kind of nice because it is sort of
32:14
Speaker 2: a once in a lifetime, weird opportunity that you might
32:17
Speaker 2: kick yourself if you don't do it. And especially for
32:20
Speaker 2: the two of you finding each other, I think that's
32:21
Speaker 2: something that will really resonate for a long time. So
32:24
Speaker 2: I wish you both the very best. Thank you for
32:27
Speaker 2: joining me on the show. Is an absolute pleasure to
32:28
Speaker 2: meet you both, And like I said, I'm rooting for
32:31
Speaker 2: you guys. So I hope, you know, God, Christmas time
32:34
Speaker 2: comes around if you guys end up rolling through Michigan.
32:37
Speaker 2: You know, we got great summers up here, great summers
32:39
Speaker 2: in Michigan. So but yeah, I have and please tell
32:42
Speaker 2: your families I thought they all did really great on
32:43
Speaker 2: the show too. I thought they came across really well,
32:46
Speaker 2: because that's important. I know our moms can get kind
32:48
Speaker 2: of stressed out about that stuff. My mom sure did.
32:50
Speaker 4: Yeah, you should have seen that behind the scenes.
32:53
Speaker 1: Was it ugly? Was it terrible?
32:55
Speaker 5: Matt's dad had about five mimosas before he started grilling
32:59
Speaker 5: me with questions.
33:00
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I enjoyed it personally.
33:04
Speaker 1: That's good. Yeah, I'm sure you were, like, Okay, good job.
33:08
Speaker 7: Yeah.
33:08
Speaker 2: My sister and brother in law broa on my show
33:10
Speaker 2: when I brought the to like the women home for
33:13
Speaker 2: the thing, and oh my gosh, my whole family was
33:15
Speaker 2: out of control.
33:16
Speaker 1: It was. It was a special time. Well, congratulations, guys.
33:19
Speaker 1: I'm happy for all your successes.
33:22
Speaker 3: Well appreciate.
33:24
Speaker 1: You. You got it man.
33:26
Speaker 2: Congratulations, and I hope I get to cross paths you
33:29
Speaker 2: guys again.
33:29
Speaker 1: Stands and take care.
33:31
Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, So there you go, guys.
