- 1:48Speaker 6: there Are up.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And moving around.
- 1:54Speaker 6: They got bacon to fry Biscuits to bake On a
- 2:00Speaker 6: stove that the Salvation Army won't take So you roll
- 2:06Speaker 6: up the windows, turn on the fan, cause it's hotter
- 2:11Speaker 6: than hell when the sun hits the.
- 2:19Speaker 7: Land. Walter and Fanny, they own the.
- 2:23Speaker 6: Grocery sales, most all that you need. They've been up
- 2:31Speaker 6: and working since early this morning, Got the whole village
- 2:37Speaker 6: to feed. They put out fresh eggs, throw bad ones away.
- 2:46Speaker 6: It rotted because of the heat yesterday. The store is
- 2:52Speaker 6: all dark, so you can't see the flies. They settle
- 2:57Speaker 6: on round steak and last Monday's pie.
- 3:03Speaker 1: That is a very small part of the Steve from
- 3:07Speaker 1: Holtz song, Texas trilogy as sung by Mike Murphy, uh,
- 3:13Speaker 1: Murph on his Austinology album. Um, the whole thing, I mean,
- 3:19Speaker 1: the entire thing is written by from Holtz is probably 13,
- 3:23Speaker 1: 14 minutes long. He just kept going and going. He
- 3:27Speaker 1: didn't write by the way for radio play, uh, But
- 3:32Speaker 1: Michael Murphy included this on the Austinology album, which is
- 3:38Speaker 1: an unbelievable album with a lot of Texas singer-songwriters on
- 3:45Speaker 1: that album. And again, the documentary is called The Man
- 3:53Speaker 1: with the Big Hat. We hope to have the filmmaker
- 3:56Speaker 1: Austin Sayre on here sometime in the next week to
- 3:58Speaker 1: 10 days. Okay, so... I'm going to talk about actual
- 4:04Speaker 1: football first because we are playing football this evening, right? Uh,
- 4:11Speaker 1: there are games on this evening. There are quite a
- 4:14Speaker 1: few games on this evening. Missouri is playing on the
- 4:19Speaker 1: SEC network this evening, Colorado and Georgia tech are playing. Um,
- 4:31Speaker 1: Idaho and Utah are playing. That's on the U. By
- 4:36Speaker 1: the way, Missouri-Arkansas Pine Bluff is on the, as I mentioned,
- 4:43Speaker 1: the SEC network. So we got that going on. Let's see.
- 4:50Speaker 1: What else? I had a whole list. There's several games
- 4:55Speaker 1: being played tonight. So LSU and Clemson are playing on
- 5:05Speaker 1: Saturday night, okay? They've been in court all day. Greg
- 5:09Speaker 1: Sankey was kind of the surprise guy who showed up
- 5:13Speaker 1: at court today to testify. And as he was doing that,
- 5:19Speaker 1: the SEC filed a federal lawsuit against LSU, Lane Kiffin,
- 5:29Speaker 1: President Wade Russe, Athletic Director Virg Osberry, named as defendants. Okay.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Today was the hearing on the preliminary injunction where the
- 5:44Speaker 1: judge is going to decide whether the temporary restraining order
- 5:49Speaker 1: would remain in place until a trial date is set
- 5:54Speaker 1: to allow LSU to play Former NFL players Zavian Harris
- 6:02Speaker 1: and Daquan Wright. In the complaint, the SEC requests the
- 6:08Speaker 1: court enter a preliminary and permanent injunction prohibiting defendants from
- 6:14Speaker 1: violating the conference's First Amendment rights by compelling the conference
- 6:21Speaker 1: to associate with conduct that is contrary to the purpose
- 6:25Speaker 1: and mission. In the lawsuit, it says defendants waged a
- 6:32Speaker 1: deliberate and coordinated campaign to recruit professional athletes to play
- 6:39Speaker 1: football for LSU, including players who had signed contracts with
- 6:45Speaker 1: the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 6:50Speaker 1: The complaint argues that the school and Kiffin began, I'm quoting,
- 6:55Speaker 1: an orchestrated campaign to recruit professional athletes to join LSU's
- 7:02Speaker 1: football roster for the 26-27 season. During Sankey's testimony, one
- 7:13Speaker 1: of the plaintiff's attorneys brought up the newly filed lawsuit
- 7:16Speaker 1: that and caused a buzz to go through the courtroom.
- 7:23Speaker 1: The Louisiana Attorney General, who was arguing the case on
- 7:30Speaker 1: behalf of LSU, called the new lawsuit garbage, quoting in
- 7:38Speaker 1: her words. Of course, this is a lady who showed
- 7:42Speaker 1: up with a purple tiger's blouse on, to argue the lawsuit.
- 7:49Speaker 1: We are not through with courts by any stretch of
- 7:52Speaker 1: the imagination, but fortunately, there will be football played. Tonight, Saturday,
- 8:02Speaker 1: Saturday night, Sunday, Monday night. It's a glorious weekend of
- 8:07Speaker 1: college football. Labor Day weekend usually is fun. There are
- 8:13Speaker 1: not a ton of of great games, but guess what?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Games that we didn't know were going to be great
- 8:21Speaker 1: games sometimes turn out to be great games, right? It's
- 8:29Speaker 1: like these minor bowl games. There were some great little
- 8:32Speaker 1: bowl games last year that normally I wouldn't have watched
- 8:35Speaker 1: that turned out to be just highly entertaining football between
- 8:39Speaker 1: teams that we didn't. see a lot of. So, I'm hopeful.
- 8:50Speaker 1: We have Brian High football here on the zone tonight.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Kickoff is at 7 o'clock. Okay? The Astros have already won.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Josh Hader has been named the American League reliever of
- 9:12Speaker 1: the month.
- 9:14Speaker 8: He was.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Good in August. How good? 13 appearances, 14 and a
- 9:22Speaker 1: third scoreless innings, opponent batting average 0-8-5, 15 strikeouts and
- 9:32Speaker 1: one walk and seven for seven in save opportunities with
- 9:38Speaker 1: one win. Good gosh, that's a career for some people.
- 9:43Speaker 1: That was that those are amazing stats. And he began
- 9:52Speaker 1: September the same way. He was really good. He got
- 9:55Speaker 1: the save last night, and I doubt if he was
- 10:00Speaker 1: used today if the game was 6-2. So the Astros
- 10:02Speaker 1: now 72-69, and there are a lot of pressure on
- 10:05Speaker 1: the Texas Rangers, who are 69-71. Cal Contrell on the
- 10:07Speaker 1: mound for... The Rangers tonight against Shane McClanahan, who's 10-6
- 10:27Speaker 1: with a 3-1-9 ERA. The Rays are 83-56. They just
- 10:32Speaker 1: keep winning. They just keep winning.
- 10:37Speaker 9: U.S.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Open going underway.
- 10:43Speaker 10: And.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Taylor Fritz has won in straight sets already. Coco Gauff
- 10:48Speaker 1: plays tonight. Madison Keyes has won. It took her three
- 10:51Speaker 1: sets and a tiebreaker to advance for the Americans. I
- 11:00Speaker 1: was looking at Shoei Ohtani, who apparently hadn't had a
- 11:03Speaker 1: home run in the last 12 games. He went into
- 11:06Speaker 1: a funk earlier in the year, too, by the way,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and still hasn't gotten back on the pitcher's mound. for
- 11:17Speaker 1: the Dodgers. All right, are we ready for this?
- 11:30Speaker 10: We're out of Glenwood Springs, Colorado after a morning on
- 11:35Speaker 10: the Roaring Fork and out of Aspen Fly Fishing here
- 11:41Speaker 10: on the Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition. Scott, first of all,
- 11:45Speaker 10: I know you guys have been powering through this summer
- 11:48Speaker 10: because it has not been ideal, has it?
- 11:51Speaker 11: It really hasn't. Worst drought in Colorado history. So very
- 11:55Speaker 11: low water, which means very warm water. So having to
- 11:59Speaker 11: fish in the morning is really all.
- 12:00Speaker 8: We have right now.
- 12:01Speaker 10: And I'm glad you brought that up. We started at
- 12:04Speaker 10: 7 this morning. It's voluntary, I guess, right now. Am
- 12:10Speaker 10: I right about that, having to be off the water
- 12:12Speaker 10: at noon?
- 12:12Speaker 11: Yeah, voluntary for the general public and mandatory for the
- 12:17Speaker 11: fishing outfitters.
- 12:19Speaker 8: That's you. That's me. We're done early.
- 12:23Speaker 10: I guess we go home and take naps. We had
- 12:27Speaker 10: a heck of a day and I didn't know what
- 12:29Speaker 10: to expect. I know the water is low. I know
- 12:31Speaker 10: the temperature is hot. But we started out really within
- 12:36Speaker 10: 50 yards of where we put in.
- 12:38Speaker 8: That's good. You can see the boat ramp when you
- 12:40Speaker 8: take off. You've got one on. You've got one right
- 12:42Speaker 8: down there, right by that bridge.
- 12:44Speaker 10: And let's be honest about it. You wanted to do
- 12:46Speaker 10: that because all the other people were watching.
- 12:49Speaker 8: You've got to look good leaving port. Look good leaving
- 12:52Speaker 8: port and coming into port.
- 12:53Speaker 12: We did both.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Yeah, and everything in between. No one else knows.
- 12:59Speaker 10: I've always wanted to fish the Roaring Fork. This is
- 13:01Speaker 10: my first time. I certainly was not disappointed. I'm sure
- 13:04Speaker 10: there are times that it fishes better in ideal conditions.
- 13:09Speaker 10: But man, given what we had, I thought it was
- 13:12Speaker 10: a heck of a morning.
- 13:13Speaker 11: That's what it can be like. It can be really
- 13:15Speaker 11: good fishing. There's lots of bugs. And with the drought,
- 13:18Speaker 11: what happens is everything's accelerated. So this fishing, to me,
- 13:23Speaker 11: feels like it's August. So a lot of the bug life,
- 13:27Speaker 11: all the different bugs that you see that we normally
- 13:29Speaker 11: would have this time of year came off in May
- 13:31Speaker 11: and June. So everything's totally just way ahead of schedule.
- 13:36Speaker 11: You told me the water level looks like October. I'm
- 13:38Speaker 11: wondering what October might look like as we sit.
- 13:41Speaker 8: Here right now. Well, that's why we're keeping our fingers
- 13:44Speaker 8: crossed for the monsoon rains. Which you have not had.
- 13:47Speaker 8: Not yet. It's been all around, but not here yet.
- 13:50Speaker 8: But that will help.
- 13:51Speaker 11: And then just with cloud cover and just not so
- 13:54Speaker 11: hot days and little cooler nights, then hopefully the water
- 13:57Speaker 11: temperatures come back around. And then this probably won't get
- 14:00Speaker 11: much lower than it already is. And then once we
- 14:02Speaker 11: get fall here, it's just perfect weather, you know.
- 14:06Speaker 8: We were in a.
- 14:10Speaker 10: A raft today, basically, not a drift boat because the
- 14:13Speaker 10: water is so low. Man, at what point, I know
- 14:19Speaker 10: you have to think about this, is I can't even
- 14:21Speaker 10: get my raft down this river.
- 14:24Speaker 11: Yeah, there could become a point where we might not
- 14:27Speaker 11: be able to do it any longer. It might get
- 14:29Speaker 11: too shallow, but I, you know... The Frypan River sits
- 14:32Speaker 11: upstream here in the town of Basalt. So that's a
- 14:35Speaker 11: tailwater that flows out of Rudai Reservoir. And property owners
- 14:39Speaker 11: and landowners and people that are growing crops down in
- 14:43Speaker 11: the Mesa Valley and all that, they own that water.
- 14:46Speaker 11: So when they want it, they call for it. And
- 14:48Speaker 11: so then they release more cold water through here. So
- 14:51Speaker 11: with the help of that and rain, we should be
- 14:53Speaker 11: able to make it through the season.
- 14:54Speaker 10: I don't know if I've ever been to Colorado because
- 14:58Speaker 10: I'm not here during the melting time in March and
- 15:01Speaker 10: I guess in April and some years where I've seen
- 15:05Speaker 10: a river as brown as the Colorado was today.
- 15:08Speaker 8: Yeah, that is real bad. Completely blown out. What happened?
- 15:12Speaker 8: There was a major mudslide up on the upper Colorado.
- 15:15Speaker 11: They did get some rain, I guess. Yeah, just big
- 15:19Speaker 11: torrential rain, you know, for about 20 minutes all in
- 15:21Speaker 11: one spot, and the ground is dry as it is.
- 15:24Speaker 11: It's just like a weak snowpack with avalanches, and you
- 15:28Speaker 11: put a whole bunch of water in one spot, and
- 15:29Speaker 11: it just washes stuff away, and it ends up in
- 15:32Speaker 11: the river.
- 15:34Speaker 8: What will it take to clear that river up? Just.
- 15:38Speaker 11: You know, that red clay dirt that we saw through
- 15:41Speaker 11: there is kind of heavy, so it settles on the
- 15:43Speaker 11: bottom fairly quick.
- 15:44Speaker 8: You mentioned it sure isn't good for the trout. No,
- 15:48Speaker 8: those poor trout down there have got it bad. But
- 15:51Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 15:51Speaker 11: Fish are fish. They'll figure it out. You know, we're
- 15:53Speaker 11: not fishing at all down there, even if that wasn't
- 15:56Speaker 11: red like that.
- 15:57Speaker 8: So they'll be okay. They'll figure it out. And it's
- 16:00Speaker 8: the rainbows that really have the biggest trouble. The brown trout?
- 16:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 8: They're fine. They figure it out.
- 16:06Speaker 10: You mentioned they stock the Roaring Fork with rainbows pretty heavily,
- 16:12Speaker 10: do they not?
- 16:13Speaker 8: Yeah, they stock it every spring, as well as the Colorado.
- 16:18Speaker 11: But the Colorado needs it because of what happened with
- 16:21Speaker 11: the natural disaster and the forest fire and then the
- 16:24Speaker 11: rain on the top of the forest fire and all
- 16:26Speaker 11: the burn scar ash and sediment getting into the water.
- 16:29Speaker 8: So that actually wiped out about 60% of the fish.
- 16:33Speaker 11: So with the help of the stocking program, it's brought
- 16:35Speaker 11: it around, and it's getting better and better. But I
- 16:39Speaker 11: feel they probably stocked the roving fork too much.
- 16:41Speaker 9: Yes.
- 16:41Speaker 14: And.
- 16:42Speaker 8: Yes. But there's some pretty good fish in there. There's
- 16:46Speaker 8: some good ones. And the fingerlings that they put in.
- 16:49Speaker 11: Will eventually mature enough where they will spawn. So there
- 16:53Speaker 11: is a combination of wild rainbows and stocked rainbows.
- 16:56Speaker 10: You told me this stocked rainbow is like almost a
- 17:00Speaker 10: new species in that it grows really rapidly.
- 17:04Speaker 8: Correct. Yeah, that's the hofer rainbow, which is.
- 17:07Speaker 11: Named after the scientist that developed the fish where it's
- 17:11Speaker 11: whirling disease resistant.
- 17:14Speaker 8: Which is huge, by the way.
- 17:15Speaker 11: Right, because that's what wiped this river out in the
- 17:17Speaker 11: 70s was that parasite. And it attached itself to the
- 17:20Speaker 11: nervous system of the rainbow trout and caused them to
- 17:22Speaker 11: swim in circles. And then they got deformities on their
- 17:25Speaker 11: backs and on their tails. And then they eventually stopped
- 17:28Speaker 11: eating and all died. But so now with the new hofer,
- 17:33Speaker 11: that disease can't get in here. And then these fish
- 17:36Speaker 11: grow way faster than normal fish.
- 17:40Speaker 8: We were talking while we were floating down the river today.
- 17:43Speaker 8: You are a.
- 17:45Speaker 10: Red fisherman as well. You go to Cocodrie, Louisiana during
- 17:49Speaker 10: the off time.
- 17:50Speaker 8: Of your year here. Yeah, in the winter months.
- 17:53Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 17:53Speaker 8: All these other fishing guides around here are ski instructors.
- 17:57Speaker 8: Which you used to do. Yeah, you do all that.
- 17:59Speaker 8: That's what you do.
- 18:01Speaker 11: Most everybody that lives here came here for the ski season,
- 18:03Speaker 11: and they stayed for one summer, and the next thing
- 18:05Speaker 11: you know, they're here for 35 years.
- 18:08Speaker 10: But the point being, you've got to have multiple jobs
- 18:13Speaker 10: around here because the fishing season doesn't last all year.
- 18:16Speaker 8: Yeah, it is a very seasonal job. Exactly.
- 18:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 11: So, yeah, you got to do something else in the winter.
- 18:22Speaker 11: You can fish year-round here, though. There's no fish closer
- 18:24Speaker 11: or anything like that. But if we ever do get
- 18:27Speaker 11: a real winter, the ruin fork here will ice over
- 18:30Speaker 11: to the point where you're definitely not going to get
- 18:31Speaker 11: a boat through. And it will be unfishable in certain spots.
- 18:35Speaker 8: So what led you to Louisiana and the redfish there?
- 18:40Speaker 8: Just wanting to fish every day. Keep on fishing and then.
- 18:43Speaker 11: I've parlayed it into getting my clients here to follow
- 18:46Speaker 11: me there. And they ask me, well, you know, we're
- 18:48Speaker 11: out fishing throughout the day.
- 18:49Speaker 8: What do you do? And I'm like, oh, I head
- 18:50Speaker 8: on down to Louisiana and chase the redfish around. Yes.
- 18:53Speaker 11: Which is becoming a very popular thing down there because
- 18:56Speaker 11: it's one of the only wintertime fisheries for saltwater fishermen.
- 18:59Speaker 8: And it's very popular. Anywhere.
- 19:02Speaker 10: I mean, you're saying people from Florida sometimes come. come
- 19:06Speaker 10: if they want to catch redfish. They come to Louisiana
- 19:08Speaker 10: during the middle of the winter.
- 19:10Speaker 11: A lot of people from Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina.
- 19:15Speaker 11: Lots of places. I don't really like them, but the
- 19:19Speaker 11: fly fish film tours... And these guys get out there
- 19:21Speaker 11: and make movies and all that stuff. And, you know,
- 19:24Speaker 11: fly fishing used to be kind of like the gentleman's
- 19:26Speaker 11: snooty sport where you're sports walking around smoking cigars, you know.
- 19:30Speaker 8: But now all the kids are into it, too. And
- 19:33Speaker 8: I call them the straight brimmers, you know.
- 19:35Speaker 11: They don't have a bend in their hat. But it's
- 19:39Speaker 11: popular now. So it's just really spread the sport. But
- 19:42Speaker 11: those fly fish films really bring people into it.
- 19:45Speaker 10: And we're talking uh about big redfish during the middle
- 19:49Speaker 10: of the winter that's what we're targeting but it's the
- 19:52Speaker 10: best part about the redfish and with the fly rod
- 19:54Speaker 10: it's all sight fishing so you're casting to the fish
- 19:57Speaker 10: that you see you're not i mean we blind cast
- 19:59Speaker 10: with spinning rods and stuff like that but when you're
- 20:01Speaker 10: hunting with the fly rod it's like going hunting you're
- 20:03Speaker 10: waiting to see a target and you aim at them
- 20:06Speaker 10: so how often did trout get in the way uh
- 20:09Speaker 10: sea trout spotted sea trout uh they don't really get
- 20:12Speaker 10: in the way that much because they're just in different
- 20:14Speaker 10: areas but you know not that shallow right you're not
- 20:17Speaker 10: really sight fishing for them they do in texas though
- 20:19Speaker 10: sure because there's that's where the bona fide real big
- 20:22Speaker 10: ones are and they're actually even harder to catch redfish
- 20:24Speaker 10: so that's a great target to fish for us how
- 20:27Speaker 10: would you describe the fishery and kokodri like when you
- 20:30Speaker 10: first went there when you first fished what what was
- 20:33Speaker 10: your impression.
- 20:34Speaker 11: Well, I moved to Cocodrie just about six or seven
- 20:37Speaker 11: years ago. I first started in Delacroix and Hopedale. And
- 20:41Speaker 11: that was a little closer to New Orleans and a
- 20:43Speaker 11: little bit easier place to get to. And I, over
- 20:47Speaker 11: the 12, 13 years that I stayed there, I watched
- 20:50Speaker 11: the fishery decline. And there's basically what's happening is there's
- 20:53Speaker 11: saltwater intrusion with too much freshwater coming out of the
- 20:56Speaker 11: Mississippi River. And it's what they say, no islands never
- 21:00Speaker 11: should have been built, right? Because it's going to be
- 21:01Speaker 11: surrounded by water one day. Well, that's exactly what happened
- 21:04Speaker 11: down there. And stuff that I fished, there's islands that
- 21:06Speaker 11: are gone now. And then it used to be gin
- 21:09Speaker 11: clear water when I started, and now it's Mississippi mud water.
- 21:12Speaker 8: And you can't, the fish are still there. Hard to
- 21:14Speaker 8: side fish that.
- 21:15Speaker 11: Hard to side fish that, and then it's killed the
- 21:18Speaker 11: commercial fishing guys because it It clobbered the mullet, it
- 21:21Speaker 11: clobbered the shrimp, clobbered the crabs, and all that stuff
- 21:26Speaker 11: that the local commercial guys hunt for.
- 21:29Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah. So they put them out of business, too.
- 21:32Speaker 10: Okay, so two things. I want to mention Aspen Fly Fishing.
- 21:38Speaker 10: I know folks can just Google that, right? AspenFlyFishing.com. And
- 21:43Speaker 10: what you were telling me was this isn't a fly shop.
- 21:46Speaker 10: This is a fishing guide business.
- 21:49Speaker 8: Right. They'll come to you. Yeah, it's a guide service.
- 21:54Speaker 11: I mean, we do have a shop, but we're not
- 21:57Speaker 11: selling all the top-end fly rods and all that.
- 21:59Speaker 8: We have hats and T-shirts and some terminal tackle and
- 22:02Speaker 8: flies and stuff like that.
- 22:04Speaker 11: But for the most part, it's, you know, guides picking
- 22:07Speaker 11: you up and taking you out fishing and then bringing
- 22:09Speaker 11: you back.
- 22:10Speaker 8: And it's all top-of-the-line gear. Noom Sims boots and waders.
- 22:14Speaker 11: And all the guys that are doing the wade fishing,
- 22:16Speaker 11: they've all been doing it for as long as I have.
- 22:18Speaker 8: So you usually get a pretty... season guide.
- 22:21Speaker 10: In a normal year, if there is such a thing
- 22:25Speaker 10: as normal, how much water do you have to fish
- 22:29Speaker 10: within a diameter of where we're sitting right now?
- 22:33Speaker 8: For floating, I can float anything. Well, for the whole thing,
- 22:36Speaker 8: the Roaring Fork is 65 miles long.
- 22:38Speaker 11: It's headwaters up above Aspen, and as it travels all
- 22:41Speaker 11: the way down here in Enfys, where we finished today
- 22:43Speaker 11: in the Colorado River.
- 22:46Speaker 8: So, all that can be fished. However, there's a ton
- 22:48Speaker 8: of private property.
- 22:50Speaker 11: So that's the one real nice thing of the drift
- 22:52Speaker 11: boats and the rafts is that we can float through
- 22:54Speaker 11: that water because they don't know the water, just the land.
- 22:57Speaker 11: So in the upper Roaring Fork where a lot of
- 22:59Speaker 11: our guys are doing the wade fishing, they really have
- 23:01Speaker 11: to know the water well because there's only so many
- 23:04Speaker 11: public spots where you can get in there and.
- 23:06Speaker 8: Do your thing.
- 23:07Speaker 10: You know, I've talked about this for a lot of
- 23:09Speaker 10: years and you've seen it happen because you've been here
- 23:11Speaker 10: a long time. There is less and less public access
- 23:15Speaker 10: to these rivers, isn't there?
- 23:17Speaker 11: Big time, you know, with all the developments, the golf
- 23:20Speaker 11: courses and everybody buying it up. And I don't know, it's,
- 23:23Speaker 11: it's kind of a bummer, but if for the trout,
- 23:26Speaker 11: it might be a little bit like trout refuge. They
- 23:28Speaker 11: don't just get hammered everywhere you go, you know, and
- 23:32Speaker 11: maybe in the, all the public spots, because that's the
- 23:34Speaker 11: only place you have to go, they're going to be
- 23:36Speaker 11: a little bit harder to catch for sure. But I
- 23:38Speaker 11: don't know, it's just different. It's not that way in Montana.
- 23:40Speaker 11: It's not that way in Wyoming or Idaho. And I
- 23:44Speaker 11: have two boats, so I go fishing.
- 23:47Speaker 10: Okay, so let's talk about for folks that want to
- 23:49Speaker 10: come down and fish with you, which is a little
- 23:53Speaker 10: shorter drive to Cocodrie from Texas in the wintertime.
- 23:59Speaker 8: What months are we talking about? October to the end
- 24:02Speaker 8: of January.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 24:04Speaker 8: About the mid-October to end of January. And I keep.
- 24:07Speaker 11: Going as long as I'm getting people that want to
- 24:08Speaker 11: go and we can figure out the weather because once
- 24:11Speaker 11: the winter hits in Louisiana.
- 24:13Speaker 8: It gets to be tough when the... We understand that. Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 8: So it's a long ways to go.
- 24:18Speaker 11: And then you have the cold front that comes through
- 24:20Speaker 11: and the 40 mile an hour winds and cloud cover.
- 24:22Speaker 8: And it's just, it's not going to work for the
- 24:24Speaker 8: fly fishing.
- 24:25Speaker 10: So how do folks book you to do that? What's
- 24:28Speaker 10: the best way to do that?
- 24:30Speaker 11: Just by email, which is scklahn, K-L-A-H-N at msn.com and
- 24:36Speaker 11: or just my phone number. Which is 970-618-5725. So they
- 24:40Speaker 11: can call you direct and book a trip. And they
- 24:43Speaker 11: can always call Alaskan Fly Fishing because he helps me
- 24:46Speaker 11: out with that deal too and talks it up when
- 24:48Speaker 11: we try to get people to come down.
- 24:50Speaker 10: It was a terrific morning. I didn't know what to expect.
- 24:53Speaker 10: I have never fished the Roaring Fork.
- 24:55Speaker 8: I will be back. I appreciate it. It was a
- 24:58Speaker 8: great morning. Yeah, it was. It was great. We got
- 25:00Speaker 8: off to a great start. You got that one right
- 25:03Speaker 8: out of the gate. That was perfect. But what you
- 25:05Speaker 8: need to come is come in September or October even.
- 25:08Speaker 8: We're going to see if we can make that happen.
- 25:09Speaker 11: We can fish this, but we can also fish the Colorado.
- 25:13Speaker 11: I know it looks real bad right now, but it's
- 25:16Speaker 11: the place to be come fall because there's some big
- 25:19Speaker 11: fish down there.
- 25:20Speaker 10: Scott Klon, our guest from Aspen Fly Fishing here on
- 25:23Speaker 10: the Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Scott Klon from Aspen Fly Fishing. A great morning on
- 25:32Speaker 1: the Roaring Fork.
- 25:32Speaker 10: Not bad.
- 25:34Speaker 1: The greatest conditions, and we caught fish. And I recommend
- 25:40Speaker 1: Aspen Fly Fishing. I recommend Scott. And he also, as
- 25:45Speaker 1: we talked about, does some red fishing down in the
- 25:47Speaker 1: wintertime in Kokodri. A really good guy to fish with,
- 25:52Speaker 1: very knowledgeable. And they have gotten a little bit of
- 25:57Speaker 1: rain since we talked, but it's all going to depend on, frankly,
- 26:01Speaker 1: the winter and the snowpack. to restore some of these
- 26:07Speaker 1: things with the, with the drought that was going on
- 26:11Speaker 1: in New Mexico and in Colorado. Lucko Ranch is your, well,

- 29:33Speaker 1: Bad about the way we have to live here in
- 29:37Speaker 1: this country.
- 29:51Speaker 14: Harping on a war as we fight and griping about
- 29:54Speaker 14: the way things ought to be. And I don't mind
- 29:59Speaker 14: them switching sides and standing up for things they believe in.
- 30:04Speaker 14: When they're running down my country, man, they're walking on
- 30:09Speaker 14: the fight beside me.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for being with us on this Clark Eisenhower
- 30:16Speaker 1: Outdoor Edition. Tomorrow, Kirk Bowles. Tony Catalina, Ryan Starr will
- 30:22Speaker 1: be in. Monday, we'll have the Writers' Roundtable. We've talked
- 30:28Speaker 1: about this many times. The Billfish Foundation is expanding its
- 30:32Speaker 1: satellite tagging program and continuing to learn things. Tag returns
- 30:38Speaker 1: from blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, striped marlin are helping
- 30:42Speaker 1: researchers understand migration patterns, habitats, Connectivity to the billfish populations
- 30:49Speaker 1: throughout the Atlantic and the Pacific. The tagging program itself,
- 30:57Speaker 1: of course, they're expensive. The efficiency of the equipment is
- 31:02Speaker 1: not foolproof, but they have achieved an unbelievable reporting rate
- 31:08Speaker 1: of 80%. Which, when you think about it, is pretty incredible.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Each tag return provides a glimpse into the billfish. Project Gulf,
- 31:22Speaker 1: a large-scale satellite tagging initiative focused on billfish within and
- 31:28Speaker 1: beyond the Gulf of Mexico. Orange Beach Billfish Classic raised money.
- 31:35Speaker 1: 14 satellite tags have already been secured for deployment. Commitments
- 31:44Speaker 1: are being sought. Most of the deployments are in the summertime.
- 31:51Speaker 1: A blue marlin tagged off Cape Cana in the Dominican
- 31:57Speaker 1: Republic carried its tag for six months and popped off
- 32:06Speaker 1: 100 miles offshore the North Carolina-Virginia line. That's 1,100 miles.
- 32:19Speaker 1: That's how much these billfish can move and do move.
- 32:24Speaker 1: And they're still receiving data updates in the summertime from
- 32:30Speaker 1: this six-month period. A white marlin completed an impressive eight-month
- 32:37Speaker 1: deployment before the tag surfaced in the Bahamas. They've tagged
- 32:46Speaker 1: fish in Mexico. A satellite tag deployed on a striped
- 32:54Speaker 1: marlin completed its eight-month deployment period before surfacing in the
- 33:00Speaker 1: northern sea of Cortez. Research weighting the complete data set.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Preliminary information suggests the fish traveled around Cabo, before moving
- 33:12Speaker 1: northward into the Gulf of California. And the most surprising
- 33:18Speaker 1: discovery from the Billfish's South Florida tagging initiative, a sailfish,
- 33:26Speaker 1: they followed for four months, finally came off 500 miles
- 33:33Speaker 1: east of New Jersey, tagged in South Florida. Unbelievable.
- 33:40Speaker 8: Unbelievable.
- 33:43Speaker 1: What we're learning as a result of this and the
- 33:46Speaker 1: habitats and movements of these fish, I don't know if
- 33:52Speaker 1: you can put a dollar figure on each billfish that
- 33:56Speaker 1: swims in the ocean, but I think it's pretty substantial.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And these things need to be Protected. I mean, protected.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Let's see before I get into all of the animal attacks.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Ah.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Do that one. Bear. Rattlesnake.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Ah.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Talk about this. Only Marms. Researchers at UCLA-affiliated Marmot Research
- 34:53Speaker 1: Lab has launched an OnlyFans account that posts videos of marmots.
- 35:00Speaker 1: This is like the fat bear that's coming up, by
- 35:03Speaker 1: the way. Usually in September, we'll be talking about that.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Only Marms is G-rated. although an occasional scuffle may make
- 35:15Speaker 1: it PG. Rocky Mountain Biological Lab in 1962 was founded.
- 35:25Speaker 1: And the study of the yellow-bellied marmot remains one of
- 35:28Speaker 1: the longest-running studies of its kind. If you don't know
- 35:31Speaker 1: what a marmot is, it almost looks like a beaver
- 35:36Speaker 1: without the big flat tail. They can... be large. They've
- 35:47Speaker 1: gotten $ 5, 000 in tips from 1,700 fans. So you can
- 35:56Speaker 1: go to Our Only Marms and watch these animals like
- 36:02Speaker 1: the fat bear account and like the eagle video and
- 36:06Speaker 1: all the different things that they video. It's a money-raising deal, right?
- 36:14Speaker 1: So that's what they do. All right. We're going to
- 36:18Speaker 1: take a break. We're going to come back. We have
- 36:22Speaker 1: got animals attacking. The Rangers report is brought to you
- 36:28Speaker 1: by Schulte Roofing and the Decker Financial Group.
- 36:32Speaker 13: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 36:34Speaker 13: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around, and then
- 36:37Speaker 13: I found Schulte Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 36:39Speaker 13: The folks at Schulte guided me every step of the way.
- 36:42Speaker 13: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 36:45Speaker 13: out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance. They took the complication
- 36:48Speaker 13: out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They took off
- 36:51Speaker 13: the damaged roof, put on the new roof, did all
- 36:53Speaker 13: the cleanup, and I had my new roof in one day.

- 37:01Speaker 9: I'm Gavin Moritz with your Texas Rangers report.

- 37:42Speaker 9: Hopes were looking high for the Rangers to get their
- 37:43Speaker 9: sixth series sweep of the season against the Athletics. The
- 37:46Speaker 9: Rangers won the first two games by a combined total
- 37:49Speaker 9: of 16-6. Ezekiel Duran had his first leadoff home run
- 37:52Speaker 9: of the season to start the Rangers 1-0 in the
- 37:55Speaker 9: bottom of the first.
- 37:56Speaker 1: And Duran swings and belts one. Deep left field. Back
- 37:59Speaker 1: goes Galoff. He's at the wall.
- 38:01Speaker 8: That ball is history.
- 38:03Speaker 1: A leadoff home run for Ezekiel Duran.
- 38:06Speaker 9: Justin Foscue added a home run of his own to
- 38:08Speaker 9: double the score at 2-0 in the bottom of the second.
- 38:11Speaker 16: Now the 3-2, and that ball is hit to deep
- 38:14Speaker 16: left center field.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Clark going back on this.
- 38:16Speaker 16: He turns to look, and it's out of here.
- 38:19Speaker 9: That is where the fun ended for the Rangers as
- 38:20Speaker 9: the Athletics homered five times over the next seven innings,
- 38:23Speaker 9: defeating the Rangers 9-2. The Rangers continue at home tonight
- 38:27Speaker 9: against the Tampa Bay Rays to continue to fight for
- 38:29Speaker 9: a playoff spot. I'm Gavin Moritz with your Rangers report.

- 39:03Speaker 1: This is the Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition for a Thursday afternoon.
- 39:10Speaker 1: An unusually aggressive wild animal is terrorizing a New Hampshire neighborhood,
- 39:17Speaker 1: attacking at least three people in the last couple of days.
- 39:21Speaker 1: The mysterious creature. which witnesses describe as a gray fox
- 39:28Speaker 1: or a fisher. has been attacking people in the Sentara
- 39:32Speaker 1: Park area of Lebanon, New Hampshire, since Sunday. Police believe
- 39:38Speaker 1: the same animal is behind all three attacks. Officers haven't
- 39:42Speaker 1: been able to find the culprit. The small gray animal
- 39:47Speaker 1: was filmed charging at two people near a U-Haul truck
- 39:51Speaker 1: in a parking lot, according to surveillance video. The creature
- 39:56Speaker 1: grabbed one man's bag before launching after his feet and legs.
- 40:01Speaker 1: The man kicked the animal, which scrambled under the truck.
- 40:06Speaker 1: The first attack was reported Sunday. The latest happened Monday evening,
- 40:12Speaker 1: according to Lebanon New Hampshire police. They suspected a fisher
- 40:17Speaker 1: cat was behind the first attack. It's concerning because of
- 40:22Speaker 1: the animal attacking people. That is always concerning. What do
- 40:26Speaker 1: we say here, people? Get them before they get you.
- 40:33Speaker 1: By the way, I hope to have an exciting announcement
- 40:37Speaker 1: concerning that relatively soon. That's usually indicative of something being
- 40:44Speaker 1: wrong with the animal, most likely rabies, says the police chief.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And then, you know, the fact that it's coming out
- 40:50Speaker 1: and scratching and biting at people, that's a concern. One
- 40:54Speaker 1: local told TV outlet, oh, my goodness, that's the scariest thing. Like,
- 40:59Speaker 1: there's not enough to look out for these days. Now
- 41:03Speaker 1: you got to look out for fisher cats in the
- 41:06Speaker 1: parking lot. Police are working with the New Hampshire Fish
- 41:09Speaker 1: and Game Department to locate the animal and I hope
- 41:13Speaker 1: eradicate it. On Staten Island, a fox that may be

- 41:43Speaker 1: all visitors to be vigilant due to the presence of
- 41:47Speaker 1: a fox that may be infected with rabies. Visitors should
- 41:52Speaker 1: exercise caution, avoid contact with any animals, and shoot on sight. Nah,
- 42:01Speaker 1: I added that last phrase, but it should be part
- 42:03Speaker 1: of it. The encounter comes as troubling city data revealed
- 42:10Speaker 1: rabid raccoons invading the city's outer boroughs have led to
- 42:15Speaker 1: 20 total rabies cases already logged across Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island. Look,
- 42:21Speaker 1: these are city people. They don't know what the heck's
- 42:23Speaker 1: going on with animals. By late August, the Big Apple
- 42:28Speaker 1: recorded five cases in Brooklyn, six in Queens, and a
- 42:31Speaker 1: whopping nine on Staten Island, matching last year's total. Staten
- 42:38Speaker 1: Island has recorded 26 confirmed rabies cases since 2022. Second
- 42:43Speaker 1: highest total behind Queens. That's probably from rats. Rabies is
- 42:48Speaker 1: a deadly disease transmitted by raccoons, bats, skunks, foxes. Rabies
- 42:57Speaker 1: vaccine can be effective. And let's see. So, Even in
- 43:09Speaker 1: the city, animals are attacking people. I'm just telling you.
- 43:17Speaker 1: A Nevada-based woman has left bloodied, was left bloodied after
- 43:23Speaker 1: being mauled by an otter while swimming in Lake Tahoe.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Good gosh. Can't even swim in Lake Tahoe now? Lynette Balin, 51,
- 43:36Speaker 1: needed therapy. 38 stitches. After being attacked during her open
- 43:42Speaker 1: water swim Sunday morning, she recounted how the weasel-like creature
- 43:48Speaker 1: was ruthless. Bellen has harrowingly recalling how she had to
- 43:57Speaker 1: fight off the animal. Something grabbed my leg and pulled
- 44:02Speaker 1: me over. She's the owner of a survival swim school.
- 44:08Speaker 1: And it was so powerful, I thought it was a human.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Bella has swum in Lake Tahoe for 25 years. Said
- 44:18Speaker 1: the otter lunged at her, began biting and scratching, and
- 44:23Speaker 1: in her words, it was ruthless. Those cute little otters.
- 44:31Speaker 1: They wouldn't do anything like that. Come on, people.
- 44:38Speaker 8: It's an otter.
- 44:38Speaker 1: I mean, you can't drown them. Can't shoot them. Get
- 44:46Speaker 1: them before they get you. Our Animals Attack segment is
- 44:51Speaker 1: brought to you every week by Schulte Roofing, home of
- 44:54Speaker 1: the Bulletproof Roof Guarantee.
- 44:57Speaker 13: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 44:59Speaker 13: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around, and then
- 45:02Speaker 13: I found Schulte Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 45:04Speaker 13: The folks at Schulte guided me every step of the way.
- 45:07Speaker 13: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 45:10Speaker 13: out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance. They took the complication
- 45:13Speaker 13: out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They took off
- 45:16Speaker 13: the damaged roof, put on the new roof, did all
- 45:18Speaker 13: the cleanup, and I had my new roof in one day.
- 45:21Speaker 7: Schulte Roofing, the home of the bulletproof roofing.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Colorado Parks and Wildlife investigated a bear attack in Estes
- 45:34Speaker 1: Park after a bear got inside the home of an
- 45:41Speaker 1: elderly woman last Thursday morning. According to CPW, 4.30 a.m.,
- 45:50Speaker 1: the bear broke into a house on the western side
- 45:55Speaker 1: of Estes Park. The bear came through an unlocked, closed window.
- 46:04Speaker 1: They investigated the attack after the bear got in the home.
- 46:09Speaker 1: And investigators say the homeowner is a woman in her 80s.
- 46:14Speaker 1: She told authorities she awoke to the bear in the
- 46:17Speaker 1: kitchen on the second floor. The bear charged at her,
- 46:22Speaker 1: scratched her across the stomach, knocked her to the ground.
- 46:27Speaker 1: left the house through the window it came in through.
- 46:31Speaker 1: She called 911. Sheriff's deputies responded. They couldn't find the bear.
- 46:38Speaker 1: The woman was treated for her abdominal injuries. They've asked
- 46:44Speaker 1: for help from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and
- 46:48Speaker 1: Plant Health Inspection Service, finding the bear. Heavy bear activity
- 46:54Speaker 1: has been reported in the area. Multiple bears breaking into
- 46:58Speaker 1: occupied homes and cars the last few days. Traps have
- 47:03Speaker 1: been set to remove them. As we continue to investigate
- 47:08Speaker 1: this extraordinary bear year, continue to be vigilant in removing
- 47:13Speaker 1: food and trash that may attract bears to your property.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Wildlife officers are working tirelessly to respond to an unprecedented
- 47:24Speaker 1: number of bear reports, and we are counting on the
- 47:26Speaker 1: community to help mitigate the conflict. Look, we've talked about
- 47:32Speaker 1: the drought. When there is drought, animals have to move
- 47:38Speaker 1: to find things to eat because it's not available at
- 47:44Speaker 1: their normal places. So, Remember that, people. When you're traveling,
- 47:53Speaker 1: especially if you're camping, even if you're obviously renting a
- 47:59Speaker 1: house in bear country, lock the doors and windows, close
- 48:04Speaker 1: the garage, keep the food away, and be smart about it.
- 48:11Speaker 1: And keep air spray and a big gun nearby. A
- 48:17Speaker 1: man who was attacked by a seven-foot shark in Florida
- 48:20Speaker 1: said he would 100% be dead if it wasn't for
- 48:27Speaker 1: nearby boaters providing life-saving assistance while fishing in shallow water
- 48:32Speaker 1: at a sandbar in Key West. Last week, Dave Daniel, 43,
- 48:41Speaker 1: was bitten by what he believes to be a six-
- 48:44Speaker 1: or seven-foot nurse shark Nurse sharks usually aren't aggressive. I
- 48:54Speaker 1: looked down at the water. There was so much blood,
- 48:57Speaker 1: said Daniel, telling NBC News. He noticed the large beast.
- 49:03Speaker 1: That's not right. I don't know who wrote this. A
- 49:06Speaker 1: shark is not a beast. Tried to move away, but
- 49:11Speaker 1: it suddenly beelined toward him. face to face, and I
- 49:16Speaker 1: can't be happy to be standing in needed water, and
- 49:19Speaker 1: brutally latched onto his legs I love this story after
- 49:25Speaker 1: the bloody mauling Daniel remembered thinking there's no way you're
- 49:30Speaker 1: getting off this beach bud sitting on the beach bleeding
- 49:34Speaker 1: out I was making peace with myself saying if it's
- 49:37Speaker 1: your time to go it's your time to go Daniel
- 49:40Speaker 1: saw two nearby boaters who happened to be medical staff
- 49:43Speaker 1: racing over to provide assistance like angels coming out of nowhere,
- 49:47Speaker 1: he said. If it weren't for them, I would 100%
- 49:51Speaker 1: be dead on the beach. Grace to God that they
- 49:55Speaker 1: were medically trained people and nurses and EMTs. Nearby boater
- 50:00Speaker 1: and trained nurse Courtney McMurray told NBC... She happened to
- 50:04Speaker 1: be at the right place at the right time. I
- 50:07Speaker 1: think he and I were meant to be there. The
- 50:11Speaker 1: boaters provided life-saving support while waiting for the Coast Guard
- 50:15Speaker 1: who airlifted Daniel to a Miami hospital where he underwent
- 50:20Speaker 1: two successful surgeries. The 43-year-old who works as an exterminator
- 50:27Speaker 1: was discharged from the hospital but said, quote, he can't
- 50:30Speaker 1: really move around at all. His foot is in a boot.
- 50:35Speaker 1: He's bandaged from the surgeries. I feel okay, pretty strong.
- 50:40Speaker 1: My blood pressure's acting funny because, you know, I got
- 50:44Speaker 1: attacked by a shark. His recovery is expected to take months,
- 50:51Speaker 1: including physical therapy, time off work. Daniel feels incredibly humble
- 50:56Speaker 1: and thankful that I realize that every minute does count
- 50:59Speaker 1: in your life. So, you know, there are a lot
- 51:09Speaker 1: of people on the beach in Florida. There aren't a
- 51:14Speaker 1: lot of people who weighed fish in Florida. Says he
- 51:23Speaker 1: was on a shallow water sandbar in Key West.
- 51:30Speaker 8: I mean.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't do that. I'm just saying. A beach
- 51:37Speaker 1: on Martha's Vineyard was closed to swimming after a woman
- 51:41Speaker 1: suffered a potential shark bite Monday afternoon. This is kind
- 51:45Speaker 1: of a weird story. Emergency personnel responded to Norton Point
- 51:50Speaker 1: in Edgartown, 140 in the afternoon, for a report of
- 51:53Speaker 1: a swimmer who sustained an injury to her lower leg.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Edgartown town administrator James Haggerty said the woman in her
- 52:02Speaker 1: 20s had, quote, wounds consistent with a bite from a
- 52:05Speaker 1: marine animal. No shark or other marine animal was observed
- 52:12Speaker 1: or confirmed in connection with the incident. This sounds like Jaws,
- 52:15Speaker 1: doesn't it? We can't close the beach. Based upon the
- 52:18Speaker 1: nature of the injuries, the wounds were considered consistent with
- 52:22Speaker 1: a potential shark bite. Just say it, man. The woman
- 52:26Speaker 1: was treated at the scene, taken to the hospital. Her
- 52:31Speaker 1: injuries reported as non-life-threatening. Swimming at the South Beach, suspended
- 52:37Speaker 1: for several hours, beachgoers are reminded to remain aware of
- 52:41Speaker 1: their surroundings and to comply with instructions from lifeguards and
- 52:46Speaker 1: any posted beach advisories. This is, you know, in the
- 52:54Speaker 1: area where That movie was filmed 50 years ago, 50
- 52:58Speaker 1: plus years ago now. But we can't close the beach.
- 53:05Speaker 1: The arcane, look, if they did, they'd have to close
- 53:09Speaker 1: every beach everywhere. They're sharks in the water, people. Make
- 53:15Speaker 1: your own choices. And this is great. Last Thursday, a
- 53:23Speaker 1: high school game in Texas, In Corpus Christi, actually south
- 53:31Speaker 1: of Corpus Christi, the Rivera Independent School District, you know
- 53:35Speaker 1: where that is, the checkpoint, was played under a rattlesnake advisory.
- 53:46Speaker 1: On social media, football game safety announcement, due to the
- 53:49Speaker 1: increased presence of rattlesnakes in the area, We ask all
- 53:54Speaker 1: parents and spectators to please use extra caution while attending
- 53:59Speaker 1: tonight's football game. Please do not allow children to play
- 54:04Speaker 1: in the long jump area of the football field or
- 54:08Speaker 1: underneath the stadium. Stay alert. Supervise children closely. Avoid areas
- 54:16Speaker 1: not designated for spectators. Not a tornado warning. Not a
- 54:22Speaker 1: heat advisory, a rattlesnake advisory. Never heard of this, ever.
- 54:31Speaker 1: But you know what? There are rattlesnakes in Texas. There
- 54:37Speaker 1: are rattlesnakes in South Texas and everywhere else in Texas.
- 54:42Speaker 1: We had a story earlier about the kid who put
- 54:44Speaker 1: his helmet on with a snake in his helmet. This
- 54:49Speaker 1: being Texas, hopefully people are packing weapons to these football games. Sorry, sir,
- 54:56Speaker 1: you can't bring that in. The hell I can't. It's
- 55:00Speaker 1: me or the rattlesnake, bud. Let's be very careful out
- 55:05Speaker 1: there and get them before they get you. Hey, I
- 55:12Speaker 1: talked to my friend Bubba Dixon today. Bubba's busy. He's
- 55:16Speaker 1: doing two businesses. He opened Farmer's Insurance Branch right down
- 55:23Speaker 1: the street from us, actually. College Station off of Rock

- 55:32Speaker 1: has already saved me a lot of money on my
- 55:37Speaker 1: home insurance. I promise you, he can do the same
- 55:40Speaker 1: for you. Bubba is still selling cars with Tegler Chevrolet.
- 55:47Speaker 1: You don't have to drive to Sealy to get a
- 55:50Speaker 1: great deal. You don't have to worry about the overhead.

- 55:56Speaker 1: is Baba. He has sold cars for a long time

- 56:08Speaker 1: And they'll deliver it.
- 56:09Speaker 3: 979-255-2129.
- 56:16Speaker 1: 979-255-2129. Call Bubba. Say, hey, Chip says you can sell
- 56:22Speaker 1: me a car and get it insured in the same day. Yes,
- 56:26Speaker 1: I can. Yes, he can. Give Bubba a call. You
- 56:30Speaker 1: know him. He's going to take care of you.
- 56:49Speaker 12: Well, way down yonder on the Chattapoochee, it gets hotter
- 56:53Speaker 12: than a hoochie-coochie. We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt,
- 56:58Speaker 12: we got a little crazy but we never got caught.
- 57:01Speaker 7: Down by the river on a Friday night, pyramid of
