- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Is RV travel worth it?
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Today, Charlie Grace and I are doing part two answering questions that you guys have been asking.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Some of the biggest questions we are going to try to get to all of them.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: So if you missed part one, go back and listen to part one.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: We talked about choosing the vehicles, making a plan for the kinds of travel you want to do.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Let's jump into first of all types of travel.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean, when I say types of travel, so solo traveling.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: I travel with a partner.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Now I'm solo.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: You're a solo traveler.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Quite big dude.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: She she's like, she wants the inside scoop.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: I've been a solo traveler for a long time.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and I love it.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: And it's something I'll probably always do.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: However, big however, dun-da-da.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Um, I now have a partner, which is pretty cool.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: And he's really awesome.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: And it's really fun.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: And the joke was for the past, I don't know how long, we've been two bands.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: You know, just because you you travel with someone doesn't mean you have to be in the same rig.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: You could have two different rigs and go out there and do things.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: So it's been a lot of fun, but now I have that experience.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: So I can't wait to talk about that experience.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: So I have, you know, I have both sides of the coin and uh a little envious of all my friends out there with partners who are like, oh, you know, they always do this, or they always do the black tank.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I've been doing it all.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: So, and I'm just the opposite, and I want to welcome Charlie Grace back to the show.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Charlie Grace of Charlie Grace Adventures.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: You can find her on all social media platforms, it'll all be listed in the show notes.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: She is experienced again.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Go back and listen to part one to find out all about her.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about that.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I went from being with a partner to being solo.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: I gotta admit, I'm a little scared, I'm a little nervous.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: No, that's not true.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I'm a lot nervous.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And I like traveling with someone.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: But let's talk about just because you're solo doesn't mean you have to be camping or adventuring by yourself.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, so talk about it.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: First of all, give us the dirt solo travel traveler for a long time.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Tell us about how you met, you guys traveled in your separate bands.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: First off, I need to say I wasn't looking.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Let me just put that out there right there because this is important.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Um, I love to travel, I love to go places and do things.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And when you're a solo traveler, one of the best things about being a solo traveler is there's no compromising.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: You want to leave, you go.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: You want to go do this, you go do it.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: So the idea of putting another person or equation into that mix changed would change things a little bit for me.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: And I didn't think I was super solo because I travel with a dog.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: So in my mind, that was a huge help.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: So Rosie is my Rosie Bell is my dog, and she's pretty awesome.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: And and she's nine years old now.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: So it's one of those, you know, she's been with me the whole time pretty much.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Um, I had a dog before that who went with me.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: And it's just been one of those comfort things.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: So having another animal with you that hears everything that maybe you not can't hear all the time, to my mind, sort of calm me down for the experience.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: So traveling with a pet does help with that, and then we can talk about that later.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: But I was somewhere in the United States doing what I normally do and trying to find my tribe because I go to a lot of events.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: I go to tons of van life events, overlanding events, camping events, things like that.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: And initially, that was really my goal was I know there are other people out there like me, but where are they?
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: And how do I find them?
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: And you can go online and you can join groups and you can do this, you can do that, but I want to physically meet them.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: So I physically met a different, I went to 23 events last year.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: That was a lot.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: A 52-week year.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: That's a lot of events.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: And I met someone, which is interesting.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Didn't think anything about it month later.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: I get a little message and saying, Hey, are you still in the area?
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Yeah.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: And next thing you know, we start traveling together and caravanning and doing things.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you know what?
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: This is a pretty cool, you know, he he travels similar the way I do.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: He understands the lifestyle and the you know limitations and whatnot.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Um, and that just turned into something really special.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm very excited about it.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: And um, it's gonna be I'm gonna be unveiling a lot of stuff on YouTube.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: But a lot of people out there are probably gonna be curious to see how this is all gonna go down because they know me as being solo.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm curious.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: So, okay, the message I hear is that we all need to go to your social media, to your YouTube channel to find out the dirt on this.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: It's almost like a soap opera.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: This is awesome.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we'll go check that out.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: As far as safety goes, that is a big topic, especially traveling as a soul female.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Um, so you have a dog that's obviously comfort.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Can you give us some quick safety tips as a solo traveler?
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Really quick.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I I can go through like five really quick.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: So, number one, keep your head in a swivel.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Listen to your gut.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: If you feel uncomfortable, you're uncomfortable.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Remove yourself from that situation.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Get to the comfort level of if your rig is your cocoon and you feel like you've peopled too much, go back.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: You're fine.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: So getting to that point, you're gonna get to know yourself really, really well.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, if you start traveling solo.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: And I'm talking full-time.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: You can do this part-time.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: This doesn't have to be, you know, I'm I've sold the house, I've sold everything, I'm on the road.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: But being a solo person, there are things and obstacles that you might mentally need to overcome.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Going to a restaurant by yourself, going to the movies by yourself, going to going grocery stores or shopping by yourself.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: All of those things are just motivating, you know, it has to get you out there.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: And I think until you can conquer and and you know perfect some of those, going on the road, things are gonna happen.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Things are gonna break down.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have emergencies, you're gonna have a flat tire, you're going to have a flat tire.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, I've had two.
- 6:09unknown: Oh, yeah.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Um, you're going to need to look at things to take with you to be safe that are legal, more importantly.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Um, and maybe taking a self-defense class is on your list of things to do, to give yourself the confidence to do that.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: These are worst-case scenario things, and I'm not one of those worry warts who are going to tell you that you need to go get a pew pew.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Um, that's not what this is about.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: It's about getting yourself as confident and comfortable so that you can travel without, you know, any kind of things.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: But a couple tips, really quick.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Going on tips.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Number one, when you go to a fuel station, most things happen these days at fuel stations.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Just letting you know, this is important to know.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm a big fan of going to Walmart, get yourself or Amazon, get yourself a box of, you know, non-latex gloves.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: And every time you pump your fuel, make sure you have one on.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's sanitary for my all my germophobic people.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: They love this anyways.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: However, uh putting that glove on to get your fuel, right now there's a whole thing going on with people lacing and putting chemicals on those fuel pumps.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: So they're not trying to, you know, take you away.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: It could be they just want to rob you.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: It could be a lot of different things.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: But the point is, be safe, be aware of that.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: If there are things on your rig when you come out from the grocery store, you know, you've seen your windshield wipers up or you've got a zip tie in your door, anything like that, someone has spotted you and someone has tagged you.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: So be aware if you can get in your rig and go, go.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Maybe drive straight to the police station instead of trying to worry about what's going on.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Once again, stop second-guessing yourself to think to say that everything's okay when it may not be.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Last but not least, you might go places where people want to hug you.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Now, we're going back to the drug game.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: I know it sounds weird, but let me, this is a real thing.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: You'd be surprised.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: People want to pray for you and hug you and whatnot, um, who seem really friendly and you want to think the best in everybody.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: You really do, because I'm one of those people too.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, oh yeah, sure, not a problem.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: And they can also put a chemical on you that can make you get sleepy again within 10 to 15 minutes and they know.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: So sometimes the best intentions, I get it.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Um, and if you are a person like me who really wants to help those in need who are homeless or you see them on the road, go get some gift cards, go make some homeless bags, make some socks and deodorant, maybe a snack of water to hand out to people.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: Um, that will save a lot of trouble, especially on the road, because you will see it.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: And these are really good tips.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: And the biggest thing, I think the most important, I'm gonna say, is trusting your gut.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: If you're the kind of person that is always worried about everything, traveling slow may not be for you.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: But if you're the kind of person that, you know, goes out, but that once in a while you get that gut feeling, trust it.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's go on to happier topics.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: This is good.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: This is so important.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: It is a hot topic, a hot, you know, like people are really, you know, asking those questions.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Obviously, safety is a big issue.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: The next thing I want to talk about is community.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: In part one, we talked about the event that is going to take place.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: And I just want to reiterate, it is an event that is going to take place at Circle CG Campground in Massachusetts, August 24th to the 31st.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: You could go for a couple of days, you could go for the whole week.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: There is a special that Happy Grounds is giving for your group.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: It's called Aventure Crew.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: So if there's any spots left by the time this um recording comes out, I'm not sure if there are any spots left, but you know, hopefully people could join us.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about community because a lot of times people feel like, well, if I'm on the road alone, you know, it gets lonely.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: And for, you know, when I was traveling full time, people would say, Well, won't you be lonely?
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Won't you miss friends?
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: That kind of thing.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: So now traveling solo, community and loneliness.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about it.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: I think the first year I started doing this, I was really, really searching for my tribe.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And I was really lonely.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: I was like, I know there's people out there.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: I've watched YouTube, I've seen these things.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: How are they all getting together?
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: What's the inside story?
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Where, you know, how can I get on the group chat?
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: What is it that I got to do?
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Um, and I realized the way to do it was for me, was to go to different events and find people and meet people.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: I tried joining an RV club.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Um, and I I realized I tried a couple of them and it just didn't mesh well.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Maybe they weren't my right tribe or personality or whatever it was, um, or stage of life.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Even that's important too.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: So, you know, maybe there's one that's completely retired and ones that are still working, things like that.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: So I found community going to events and then also talking to other people and finding out what they needed.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I got talked into creating a community called the Adventure Crew because there's a need.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: There's a real need.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: And my adventure crew is not just solos, it's solos and couples and and families and lots of people who have lots of different kinds of rigs who want to get together.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: They want to create memories.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: They want there, some are learning how to camp, some are learning how to already for the first time.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: So it's a wide variety of expertise.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: And a lot of people who are in this really just enjoy um meeting other people and sharing what they've done, modifications and things to the rigs.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: And because we call it the adventure crew, there are some really cool adventure uh rings that come out to these.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: I think community is so incredibly important.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: And I will admit, for me, while people always comment, same for you.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: I think, like how outgoing you have a podcast, YouTube channel, all of that.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: You're at the events, but there are times that I need to just go in my RV and be alone.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: And that is not the same as feeling lonely.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: So people should understand that that's okay, whatever level I know at your event, I know at other events I've been to.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: You do, you do you like do what works.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: You don't have to go to every meal or everything, every activity that's listed.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: Do as much as you want.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: And I love that idea of finding the community, the tribe that's right for you.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: It's not all perfect for everybody.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: And I think there were times I tried to fit into a community because it was there and it was available, but sometimes it just isn't the right fit.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: So, like we're both suggesting, find that community that's right for you or a number of different communities.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: So I really love that idea.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: I think that's very important for people to look at, you know, what kinds of things are they looking for?
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: What kinds of activities, what do they want to do?
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: It doesn't, you don't have to do all of it.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: That brings up another point of RV travel.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: So, however, you're traveling, whether you're camping, whatever it is, for me, I think it was important to realize that I didn't have to do it all and see it all.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: What kinds of suggestions for that person heading out?
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: They're just starting on their journey in this world of RVing.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: What kind of suggestions do you have?
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Well, number one, the first day you go out, do not drive 500 miles.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: Well, that's my first suggestion, which sounds weird.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but I think I did that the first day I picked up my RV, I drove like a significant amount.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: I didn't do a shakedown trip.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: I just drove it to where I had to go, just blindly thinking everything was perfect.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: So, my first suggestion is find someplace within an hour radius of where you live, take a weekend, learn all about your RV, turn everything on, turn everything off if you have questions.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Um, actually, let me let me take a step before that.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: When you buy your RV, new or used, it doesn't matter.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: My biggest suggestion is on your phone, videotape the walkthrough they give you.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: You're gonna forget it.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: Good idea.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: You're gonna forget, you're gonna forget how to turn on the water, you're gonna forget where this house goes, you're gonna forget something about that.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Um, and not everything's on YouTube.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: You think it is, but it's not.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: So, because when you do your shakedown trip, you're gonna go, oh, where was that again?
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: But I remember, you know, Jan saying it was, oh yeah, whatever it is.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: So that's really cool.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: So do your shakedown trip after you do your shakedown trip, then start planning.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: Then start seeing, I like the way it drove.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: I think I could drive, you know, two hours in this.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: Give yourself like little incremental steps, baby steps along the way before you take it from here to the Grand Canyon.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: I think the biggest thing I learned is that I didn't need to do it all.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: It didn't need to happen all at one time.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Now, for me, being full time, I knew I had to kind of slow down and not be in constant vacation mode.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, some people, I think when I was in vacation mode, it was I've got to do everything, see everything possible.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: I might never come back.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: And that was a big mindset shift of enjoying the journey.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: So, and this I think is a big thing.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: When my husband and I started out, the whole idea was we were gonna visit every national park in the country.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: In three over three years, we never got to one single national park.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: Because what we've realized, and people always laugh when I say that, but what we've realized was on that journey, there was something cool to stop and see.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: And those were the hidden gems that is really for me what I love about travel.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: So as we start sort of wrapping this up, what would be that big tip for me?
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: I learned that the hidden gems were so important, not the quote unquote touristy type things as much for me.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: I wanted to know where the locals were going.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I wanted to know the restaurants the locals were staying in.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Um, I wanted to know where that hidden place was that most people didn't know about.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: That is something I learned in my travels.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: What are a couple big things that you learned while traveling that you could share with my audience?
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Well, travel slow.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: That's the first thing.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: I would say, as you mentioned, you know, enjoying the journey is is really big.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: I think I focused for the first five years on places over people, and then it shifted to people over places.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: That's really, that's really key.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: I still have quite a few places I want to go.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna, I'm finally going getting to Maine this year.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: I've never been to Maine.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: I've been trying to get there for five years.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm gonna do it.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Now, in order for me to do that, I have to, you know, make a concerted effort and I'll be seeing people along the way, but it means I'm not going to other events that I typically would go to.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: So sometimes you have to put yourself first on this as well and say, okay, you know, I really want to make sure I get to this.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: And time is of the essence.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: I know you talked about vacation thought process, and I'm I'm still there.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: I am still there.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking, I may never come back to Bar Harbor Maine.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: You know, do I need a t-shirt?
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, do I need to, you know, go on that lobster boat ride or go go whale watching?
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: But I also think that's sort of fun because there are people that try to do this on a significant budget, and and sometimes they have to, and sometimes they want to, but you may never come back to Bar Harbor Maine.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: And what is the one experience in your travels that you don't want to regret?
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: So my point is do not live with travel regret.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: I agree with that.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: I so agree.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: And it's, I think, about you said slow down.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: So it's definitely about also finding that balance, which I think is key with any travel RVing any of this.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: What are your last?
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: And we could go on for two more hours.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: I have ideas for thoughts and questions that we want to get answered.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm going to tell people to reach out to either of us and ask those questions that they still have that we can answer because we might have to do a whole nother episode.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: So as we start wrapping up part two of answers with Charlie Grace, I'll call it.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: What are a couple things that you would say to people as they're on their journey, thinking about taking a journey?
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: What do you feel still needs to be said?
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Don't put it off.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Do it.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: Go out there, start.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Start small.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Whether you're traveling in your car, you're taking your first airplane trip, whether you're doing an RV, whatever it is, start.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Because I think we put things off for too long.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: Things happen, life happens.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: And um, if you don't start, you'll never, you know, you'll miss out on some things.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: That is so perfect.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: I was actually talking to a friend earlier, and she was talking about, she and I were both talking about taking a vacation.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: You know, she's taken trips to visit her kids, she's taken trips for, you know, her husband's work.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: So we talked about, but what about a vacation?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Like that.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: So all the travel I've done in the last couple of years have been because of quote unquote work.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Now, I love what I do.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: I don't want to anybody to think, oh, poor you.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: I love what I do, but I've not taken that vacation.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: And so when we were talking, she said, Yeah, but I wish so and so would want to go, or I wish this.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: And, you know, like you just said, just go do it.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: Don't wait for the perfect partner, the perfect thing, the perfect time, the perfect amount of money.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: Just do it.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: I think that's a great, great tip right there.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: And and like you said, people could start small, start with that small weekend trip.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Be a tourist in your own town.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Do all the things you haven't even seen.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: I'm always shocked when I go to small towns and they're like, oh, I've never been to that museum, or I've never eaten at that, you know, restaurant.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Check it out.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you again, Charlie Grace, for part two of questions that just needed to be answered.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure there are a ton more.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: So I hope people reach out, Charlie Grace at Charlie Grace Adventures.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: All of her information will be in the show notes.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: People could certainly reach out to me on Facebook and Instagram.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: I also have YouTube, and that's all at Inspire Travels with Patty.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: We are looking forward to hearing your questions.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Charlie Grace, and I'm looking forward to seeing you in August.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Looking forward to see you two.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
