- 0:00Speaker 1: Rick Astley to get you going here on a Monday,
- 0:02Speaker 1: September 21st, 106.7 Light FM. Cubby and Christine in the morning.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Producer Christine is producing. And we have two anniversaries in
- 0:10Speaker 1: the room, okay?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I want to congratulate you, Christine Nagy.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I saw you posted over the weekend. Nine years, you
- 0:18Speaker 1: and Eric together.
- 0:19Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:19Speaker 1: So your first date was when?
- 0:21Speaker 2: September 20th.
- 0:22Speaker 1: September 20th. Yeah.
- 0:23Speaker 2: And... I like, you know, do you remember? I like
- 0:27Speaker 2: the 21st of September. We just missed it by a day.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Eh, you can take... That can still be your song.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Because producer Kristen just told us when that song was
- 0:35Speaker 1: playing a moment ago, 19 years their date-versary. Yes. Was
- 0:40Speaker 1: September 21st.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And that's their song.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Their song.
- 0:43Speaker 2: And it's like producer Kristen and I lead these kind
- 0:46Speaker 2: of parallel lives because he's a lefty drummer, Eric's a
- 0:50Speaker 2: lefty drummer. We started dating in.
- 0:53Speaker 1: In September.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Around September 21st. She and I both have our, like...
- 0:59Speaker 2: December birthdays after Christmas used to being ignored kind of thing,
- 1:03Speaker 2: you know. We've got a lot going on.
- 1:05Speaker 1: That's right. Kristen's December 29th. You're December 26th.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Our names are pretty similar, yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. We have a lot of, even though
- 1:13Speaker 1: I don't have a K in my name, we have
- 1:15Speaker 1: a lot of Kuh.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Cubby.
- 1:17Speaker 2: There's a lot of Kuh in this room.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Producer Kristen. So, yeah. And how did you spend your
- 1:21Speaker 1: anniversary with Eric, Christine?
- 1:23Speaker 2: He was doing a gig with his ex-wife.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Who's that?
- 1:26Speaker 2: What?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Are you serious?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Wait a minute. He was working all weekend.
- 1:33Speaker 2: He was working all weekend, yes.
- 1:35Speaker 1: He was working, doing gigs. It was with his ex-wife?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yes, on our anniversary.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well, I know you guys.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Can you cue the soap opera music for me now? Like, seriously.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That was how I spent our anniversary.
- 1:51Speaker 1: He's worked with her before, though, correct? Obviously. Oh, yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 2: She's the lead singer. Of his former band.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But it's happened enough times that it doesn't ruffle feathers
- 2:04Speaker 1: because you guys are solid.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I mean, it happens. It's not, you know, a lot.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So Saturday, my sister-in-law, Barbara.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I love you so much.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I love you, too. Her refrigerator dies. Barbara's refrigerator dies.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Barbara's refrigerator dies.
- 2:21Speaker 2: And she did one of those, can you call me now,
- 2:25Speaker 2: text messages. Which, like, for me is like, I go
- 2:28Speaker 2: into this, you know, mode of, like, who died, what,
- 2:32Speaker 2: you know, and I can't call her fast enough. She's like, hey, Barbara,
- 2:35Speaker 2: are you okay? Yeah. Like, why do you need me
- 2:38Speaker 2: to call? The refrigerator died. I'm like, okay, okay.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But she made it sound like the whole house was imploding.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Sort of. So I'm like, okay, we can deal with this.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So I went over. The refrigerator was indeed dead. So
- 2:52Speaker 2: you lose, you know, everything that's in the fridge. We
- 2:54Speaker 2: called an emergency repairman. It can't be saved. It's from 1980. No, 1998.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Guys like just let it go. So we called our
- 3:03Speaker 2: friend Steve at P.C. Richard and Son. Oh, wow. This
- 3:06Speaker 2: was like an emergency. And he looked up the size
- 3:09Speaker 2: for us and, you know, found us the best fridge
- 3:12Speaker 2: that we can possibly get. So we're getting her a
- 3:14Speaker 2: fridge ASAP.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So thank you, PC, Richard, and son.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah. She's in her fridge all weekend, but they're going
- 3:20Speaker 1: to bring that.
- 3:20Speaker 2: She doesn't have a fridge right now. Right. Well.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I keep checking in with her. I'm like, are you okay?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Do you have food? Because I'm thinking about like, I
- 3:28Speaker 2: think just about everything I eat comes out of the fridge, but.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Man, it's almost cold enough where if the fridge breaks.
- 3:33Speaker 2: You can put it outside.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You can put stuff outside, but it's not quite that cold.
- 3:35Speaker 1: We've lost a lot. Speaking of the weather, get ready
- 3:38Speaker 1: for a lot of clouds. The clouds are going to
- 3:40Speaker 1: be around almost all week, and there could be a
- 3:42Speaker 1: nor'easter at the end of the week, end of the weekend.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I don't know if you heard about that forecast.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Okay, no biggie.
- 3:47Speaker 1: There's a few models saying there could be 35, 40-mile-an-hour
- 3:51Speaker 1: winds Friday through Monday, like a long-lasting nor'easter. The kind
- 3:55Speaker 1: of nor'easter that gets hung up off the coast and
- 3:58Speaker 1: can't move forward, so it just stays off the Jersey Shore. And, yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 1: that'll be our weather for possibly four to five. days
- 4:05Speaker 1: thanks cubby but a lot of models have to be
- 4:08Speaker 1: ironed out here we'll see how it plays out but
- 4:10Speaker 1: it doesn't look like a good weekend coming up okay
- 4:12Speaker 1: all right we're full of good news here it's 106.7
- 4:14Speaker 1: light fm and it's monday on top of.
- 4:16Speaker 3: That more cubby and christine and the great music variety
- 4:19Speaker 3: you expect next on light fm.

- 4:26Speaker 1: christine's two pretty cool things And this one's for Kim
- 4:31Speaker 1: and Mark, who live in Hoboken, New Jersey, but they're

- 4:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Uh-huh. They're big Light FM fans. Well, check this out
- 4:40Speaker 1: if you happen to be in Orlando listening to us.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Today is September 21st, and Disney is celebrating. If you
- 4:47Speaker 1: ride Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at Epcot today,
- 4:51Speaker 1: September 21st, you're guaranteed to hear earth and wind and
- 4:55Speaker 1: fire September during the ride all day long.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Nice.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Normally the ride will randomly select other songs. Uh, in
- 5:01Speaker 1: the library, there is the tramps with disco Inferno, uh,
- 5:04Speaker 1: conga from Gloria Estefan. Everybody wants to rule the world.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Tears or fears, a flock of seagulls. I ran blondie
- 5:12Speaker 1: one way or another, but today it's September. Every time
- 5:17Speaker 1: you get on the ride by earth and wind and
- 5:19Speaker 1: fire again, it's, uh, Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind
- 5:23Speaker 1: at Epcot today.
- 5:24Speaker 2: They have a fun playlist, by the way.
- 5:26Speaker 1: All those songs are great, right?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:28Speaker 1: All right, what's your cool thing, Christine?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Just in time for the holidays, Toys R Us is
- 5:33Speaker 2: making a major comeback. They plan on opening 120 stand-alone
- 5:39Speaker 2: toy stores ahead of the holiday season, bringing its total
- 5:43Speaker 2: to 160 locations by Christmastime. So, guys, when you're looking
- 5:48Speaker 2: for the must-have gifts for your kids... Toys R Us
- 5:50Speaker 2: to the rescue. I don't have the locations yet, but
- 5:54Speaker 2: we'll let you know when there's one in the area.
- 5:56Speaker 1: All right. Hit us up. Where are you right now? 44363.
- 5:59Speaker 1: We're wondering. You know, it's Yom Kippur. A lot of
- 6:01Speaker 1: people have the day off. We want to hear from
- 6:03Speaker 1: you if you're out and about. What are you doing
- 6:05Speaker 1: right this very second? 44363 on text. Mort Covey and Christine.
- 6:09Speaker 3: And the great music variety you expect. Next on Light FM.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Thank you for all the text messages. We already had
- 6:14Speaker 1: a few. Somebody said that it was a cakewalk driving
- 6:18Speaker 1: in because of Yom Kippur.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yes, a lot of people are off.
- 6:20Speaker 1: A lot of people are off.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:22Speaker 1: One person mentioned they don't like it being dark right now,
- 6:25Speaker 1: which we've noticed, and we're not fans of it either.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And the clouds don't help. But, yeah, the sun is
- 6:31Speaker 1: rising later and later.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 6:33Speaker 1: But, yeah, people are out there. They're checking us out. Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: thank you. They're running errands. They're going to school.
- 6:38Speaker 2: It's nice to hear from you.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Listen, 44363. Hit us up anytime.
- 6:43Speaker 1: We'd love to hear from you. Yeah. Where are all
- 6:46Speaker 1: my coffee lovers in the house?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Right here.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Raise your hand if you're a coffee lover.
- 6:49Speaker 2: We're all in this room. We love our coffee.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Okay. Where can I get the best coffee in America?
- 6:54Speaker 1: I'm thinking it's got to be New York City.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You would think, right?
- 6:57Speaker 1: And I'm right. Nope.
- 6:59Speaker 2: It's Orlando, Florida, baby.
- 7:00Speaker 1: What? Yes. How are they ranked number one?
- 7:04Speaker 2: I don't know. Orlando has been ranked the best city
- 7:07Speaker 2: for coffee lovers with household spending an average of $ 154
- 7:10Speaker 2: annually on coffee. City boasts the highest number of coffee
- 7:15Speaker 2: and tea shops with free Wi-Fi per capita, making it
- 7:18Speaker 2: the hub for caffeine enthusiasts and specialty brews. Orlando also
- 7:22Speaker 2: has a large number of coffee shops and ranks above
- 7:24Speaker 2: the top cities for affordable establishments, rated at at least
- 7:29Speaker 2: 4.5 stars out of 5. I think, like, I love
- 7:32Speaker 2: going to Disney and getting coffee. I thought that was
- 7:34Speaker 2: a big part of it, too.
- 7:35Speaker 1: But didn't you think maybe a Seattle or a Portland,
- 7:37Speaker 1: like a Northwest, would be in the, like, number one spot?
- 7:40Speaker 2: You would think.
- 7:41Speaker 1: But they are in the top five.
- 7:42Speaker 2: They're up there, yes.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Portland, Oregon is number two. Miami, Florida, number three. Long Beach.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Cafe con leche. What? Just want to say.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You know a place in Miami?
- 7:51Speaker 2: Cafe con leche? Like wherever you go. And they have
- 7:54Speaker 2: it in Orlando too. I don't know. They just do
- 7:56Speaker 2: it better there.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But okay. All right. Name a spot in Tampa, Florida.
- 8:00Speaker 1: They're number six. Columbia. Just say Starbucks everywhere.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Columbia restaurant.
- 8:05Speaker 1: You know that? Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 2: For sure?
- 8:07Speaker 1: In Tampa?
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:10Speaker 1: San Francisco.
- 8:11Speaker 2: No. Got nothing for you. Sorry.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Oakland, California.
- 8:14Speaker 2: 7-Eleven? Can't help you there.
- 8:17Speaker 1: There's got to be some good coffee at 7-Eleven. Pittsburgh, PA.
- 8:21Speaker 1: What's your coffee spot you're going to?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Don't know. Okay.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Austin, Texas. Where's your spot?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Where do you go?
- 8:26Speaker 1: I would go to Buc-ee's.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I want to go to a Buc-ee's. I've never been
- 8:32Speaker 2: to one.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Okay. So there is your top ten.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yes, but where are we?
- 8:36Speaker 1: Okay. Can I read the list that Kristen gave us?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Yes, please.
- 8:39Speaker 1: New York City is ranked number 44. What? Best coffee city,
- 8:44Speaker 1: number 44.
- 8:45Speaker 2: But it could be pricing, too, because remember I said Orlando,
- 8:48Speaker 2: it's affordable. It's good coffee and affordable.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Good point.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And there's a lot of Florida in the top 10,
- 8:52Speaker 1: by the way.
- 8:53Speaker 2: There is.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Philadelphia is number 27, and Jersey City is number 26.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Has New York City beat.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Yeah, which is amazing to me. I thought New York
- 9:02Speaker 1: would be a little bit higher, but that's a good point,
- 9:03Speaker 1: what you said about pricing.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Because how much does it cost for your favorite drink
- 9:09Speaker 1: at Starbucks?
- 9:10Speaker 2: $ 20 right here.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Put it on layaway.
- 9:12Speaker 2: All right.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Light FM.
- 9:14Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.

- 9:34Speaker 1: And the clouds don't help. But yeah, the sun is

- 9:41Speaker 1: They're checking us out. Yeah, thank you. They're running errands.

- 12:20Speaker 1: Light FM.
- 12:20Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Christine has everything you need to know. Good morning, Christine.
- 12:27Speaker 2: And good morning, Covey. As we mentioned in the traffic,
- 12:30Speaker 2: UN General Assembly gets underway today. So we're looking at
- 12:33Speaker 2: gridlock days. President Trump is in town and he will
- 12:36Speaker 2: be meeting with Mayor Mamdani before getting underway with UN
- 12:41Speaker 2: General Assembly meetings. He's also going to meet with French
- 12:43Speaker 2: President Macron ahead of the assembly and do one of
- 12:47Speaker 2: those sideline meetings with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at some
- 12:51Speaker 2: point this week. Senator Cory Booker says that President Trump's
- 12:55Speaker 2: ban of several major news outlets from the White House
- 12:58Speaker 2: is unconstitutional. He said Trump has, quote, no regard for
- 13:02Speaker 2: the First Amendment. And this very disturbing news that supermodel
- 13:07Speaker 2: Cindy Crawford's son has passed away just 27 years old.
- 13:10Speaker 1: The L.A.
- 13:11Speaker 2: County medical examiner says that Presley Gerber passed away at
- 13:14Speaker 2: a rehab facility on Sunday, and the family is asking
- 13:19Speaker 2: for privacy. Gas prices holding steady at $ 4. 47 a gallon
- 13:24Speaker 2: on average if you live in California, $ 6. 16 a gallon.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I was talking to a buddy who's a truck driver.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: He drives 18-wheelers, and they put in diesel. Uh-oh. How
- 13:35Speaker 1: much do you think it costs to fill an empty 18-wheeler?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. I can't even begin to guess.
- 13:40Speaker 1: $ 2, 100. $ 2, 100. Okay. And they move America. Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Trucks. So that's why we're paying a lot for groceries
- 13:50Speaker 2: and everything else.
- 13:51Speaker 1: But I always forget about the diesel part.
- 13:52Speaker 2: The diesel is really high. Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Everything's high, but the diesel is like, whoa, $ 650 or something?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Crazy high.
- 13:59Speaker 1: That's crazy high.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I'm going to get crazy high right now.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Sports, baseball, Mets, loss to the Phillies 7-2, Yanks. Lost
- 14:06Speaker 2: to the Diamondbacks, 8-4. And the Jets lost to the Packers,
- 14:09Speaker 2: 20-17 in overtime. Giants are going to play the Rams
- 14:12Speaker 2: tonight at 8-15. And yeah, Covey, I thought of you because,
- 14:15Speaker 2: you know, we love the moon and the stars. Scientists
- 14:18Speaker 2: have discovered an enormous crater on the moon. And this
- 14:21Speaker 2: just came out in Science Advances. It says the crater
- 14:24Speaker 2: measures about 728 feet across, 141 feet deep. And it
- 14:30Speaker 2: was created somewhere between April and May of 2024.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Recent.
- 14:32Speaker 2: It's a brand new crater. A NASA blog says researchers
- 14:37Speaker 2: believe a fragment of an asteroid or a comet, possibly
- 14:41Speaker 2: the size of a three- to six-story building, hit the
- 14:44Speaker 2: lunar surface and created this crater. And scientists say an
- 14:47Speaker 2: impact of that size only happens on the moon once
- 14:50Speaker 2: every blue moon? No, once every 130 years. Researchers wrote
- 14:55Speaker 2: that the event constitutes a statistically rare once-in-a-lifetime observation.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I bet you there's some skateboarders that would love to
- 15:02Speaker 1: go do their thing inside that crater.
- 15:05Speaker 2: That's quite a crater, yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Next on Light FM. 106.7 Light FM. Good morning. It's
- 15:13Speaker 2: Christine Cubby. Producer Kristen is here. And I know it's
- 15:17Speaker 2: like a little hard to get going and leave the house,
- 15:19Speaker 2: but leaving the house in your pajamas, is that okay?
- 15:23Speaker 1: Why are you looking at me?
- 15:24Speaker 2: What have you got on there, Covey?
- 15:25Speaker 1: No, today I'm just T-shirt and jeans.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, we're pretty cash today.
- 15:29Speaker 1: There are times I want to wear my pajamas.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I know, but we.
- 15:32Speaker 1: With the flap in the back.
- 15:33Speaker 2: We don't.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And your Uggs, I'm sure.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And my Uggs.
- 15:37Speaker 2: But yeah, people were kind of saying, we're getting a
- 15:40Speaker 2: little tired of this. Survey was done. What's the most
- 15:43Speaker 2: uncivilized thing we do in public? Pajama pants in the
- 15:48Speaker 2: store came up number one.
- 15:50Speaker 1: You see it all the time. I'm used to it.
- 15:52Speaker 2: So am I.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I feel like 20 years ago, we would be like,
- 15:54Speaker 1: what are all these people in Walmart wearing pajamas? But
- 15:56Speaker 1: now it's not just Walmart. It's Target.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Kind of everywhere.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Everywhere. People are just comfy.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Just pajama pants and Uggs was like a thing, I think,
- 16:04Speaker 2: early 2000s. But yeah, and producer Kristen telling us, like
- 16:08Speaker 2: coming out of the pandemic, a lot of kids going
- 16:10Speaker 2: back to school and they're like, I'll just wear my
- 16:12Speaker 2: pajama pants and a T-shirt and we're good to go.
- 16:14Speaker 2: So people are a little tired of that.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Also drives us nuts. When you're talking loudly on the speakerphone.
- 16:22Speaker 1: And you would think after, you know, with Bluetooth and
- 16:25Speaker 1: stuff like that, that would also change over the years.
- 16:27Speaker 1: But no, there are people that still talk on speakerphone
- 16:30Speaker 1: in the middle of a store. You hear the whole conversation. Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 1: I don't understand that.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Even really loud when they're just talking to the other
- 16:37Speaker 2: person and you don't hear the other person.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Oh, they're just... Yelling pretty much.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Like we've done like all these studies of like why
- 16:45Speaker 2: you can't tune that out. It's because your brain needs
- 16:47Speaker 2: to make sense of it and understand like, okay, what's
- 16:49Speaker 2: the other side of the conversation? Right. So it almost
- 16:51Speaker 2: pulls you in more.
- 16:52Speaker 1: At least we're not hearing the next tail chirp anymore.
- 16:55Speaker 1: We used to hear that a lot about 20 years ago. Hey,
- 16:58Speaker 1: what's up there, Christine? You want a new TV? No? Okay.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Leaving shopping carts in the middle of a parking space.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That will never change.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Drives us nuts.
- 17:06Speaker 1: That will never change.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Still happens.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Sad.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Playing videos or music without the headphones, yes.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Well, you know, on flights, they'll really crack down on you.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You can't do that.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Doctor's office, no, no. Letting a dog poop on a
- 17:20Speaker 2: neighbor's lawn and not picking it up.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I've seen it happen.
- 17:23Speaker 2: That's, yeah, that's a big problem.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And a lot of times, I don't know if they
- 17:27Speaker 1: know or not, but the person will act like they're
- 17:29Speaker 1: looking at their phone.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Oh.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And I don't know if they're just pretending like they're
- 17:33Speaker 1: so into their phone, they're not paying attention to the dog.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Oh, gee, I forgot to scoop that.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Or are they just, like, playing, like, I don't know,
- 17:39Speaker 1: a role here. I'm just going to act like nothing's
- 17:41Speaker 1: going on.
- 17:41Speaker 2: You got to scoop. Who does this? Clipping fingernails or
- 17:44Speaker 2: toenails in public? What? Who's doing that?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Can you imagine? Did you ever see planes, trains, and automobiles?
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 1: There's a scene in the movie where John Candy takes
- 17:53Speaker 1: off his shoe and then takes off his sock next
- 17:56Speaker 1: to Steve Martin on the airplane.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 17:58Speaker 1: He starts picking his nails. No, no, no, no. Like,
- 18:00Speaker 1: if that ever happened on an airplane, forget it.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's bad. Standing right in front of the elevator
- 18:04Speaker 2: doors so people inside cannot step out. You know, just
- 18:08Speaker 2: like not getting out of the way. Right. And stopping
- 18:11Speaker 2: with a shopping cart in the center of the aisle.
- 18:14Speaker 2: It's funny how a lot of this goes back to
- 18:16Speaker 2: getting to the supermarket.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Right. It does. People in their pajamas blocking the aisle
- 18:20Speaker 1: with their cart.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yes. Speaking on the phone.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 2: You're right.
- 18:24Speaker 1: All these could take place.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Not returning the cart.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Grocery store.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Well, I guess a lot of our lives revolve, mind us,
- 18:29Speaker 2: around the grocery store. We have to go so often.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Which, by the way, do you have to go to
- 18:32Speaker 1: Stop and Shop today?
- 18:34Speaker 2: You know, I could. I went yesterday, but I could
- 18:36Speaker 2: always go. Okay.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Isn't the grocery store crazy on Sunday?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Because people are preparing for the week.
- 18:41Speaker 2: You know why I would need to go back today?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Because I get overwhelmed and I have to leave.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And you want to go there when it's quieter. Yeah.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yep. All right, well, hit us up on text 44363.
- 18:52Speaker 1: In your personal opinion, what is the most uncivilized thing
- 18:57Speaker 1: we do in public? We do want to hear from you.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 19:04Speaker 1: You're pretty good at trivia.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 19:09Speaker 1: On this Monday, September 21st, do you remember? It's Cubby, Christine,
- 19:13Speaker 1: and time for a trivia battle. And, Christine, we have
- 19:16Speaker 1: two repeat champions on. They've played before, and both have
- 19:19Speaker 1: won in the past. On Team Cubby, Maria from Woodcliffe Lake.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Good morning, Maria. Where is Woodcliffe Lake? Woodcliffe Lake is
- 19:27Speaker 1: in Bergen County, New Jersey. And it's lovely this time
- 19:30Speaker 1: of year, isn't it? It is lovely this time of year.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And what are you doing up so early? I'm actually.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Actually woke up early. I have an alarm on my
- 19:38Speaker 1: phone to make sure I hear you on the radio
- 19:40Speaker 1: if I can call. You guys are the reason I
- 19:42Speaker 1: wake up this early.
- 19:44Speaker 2: And you're our reason. Thank you.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Wow.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Group hug.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Good luck in Team Cup. maria who is her competition christine.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Kim in connecticut good morning kim hi good morning hi
- 19:56Speaker 2: so not a day off for you today definitely not
- 19:59Speaker 2: okay what do you do um.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I'm a principal of a school wow and okay all
- 20:04Speaker 1: right maria you're gonna get three questions kim you'll get
- 20:06Speaker 1: three questions best out of three wins maria question number
- 20:09Speaker 1: one Can you tell me the name of the new
- 20:11Speaker 1: Tom Cruise movie? Is it A, Digger, B, Runner, or C, Catcher?
- 20:16Speaker 1: The name of the new Tom Cruise movie is... Wait, wait, wait.
- 20:21Speaker 3: What was the last one?
- 20:22Speaker 1: Is it Digger?
- 20:23Speaker 2: Digger.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Digger. I'm sorry.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Digger.
- 20:25Speaker 1: That's correct. And Maria is up 1-0.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Here we go, Kim. Michaela Matthews just abruptly quit which
- 20:31Speaker 2: of these reality shows? A, Real Housewives of Orange County, B,
- 20:35Speaker 2: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, or C, Summer House? B.
- 20:42Speaker 2: You've got it. Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
- 20:45Speaker 1: One to one. You guys are good.
- 20:47Speaker 2: One to one.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Hey, Maria, can you tell me the name of the
- 20:50Speaker 1: fictitional soccer team in the series Ted Lasso? Is it A,
- 20:54Speaker 1: AFC Richmond, B, Brent Cross FC, or C, Blackwall United?
- 20:59Speaker 2: AFC Richmond.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Wow. Okay. Two to one, Maria. Yep.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Kim, Tom Brady is a minority owner of which NFL team? A,
- 21:11Speaker 2: New England Patriots, B, Las Vegas Raiders, C, Detroit Lions. A. Nope.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I'm sorry. It's B. It's the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Kind of a trick question because you associate Tom Brady
- 21:24Speaker 1: with New England.
- 21:25Speaker 2: You would think.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. So, Kim, you're not done yet. But, Maria,
- 21:29Speaker 1: if you go three for three here, it's a wrap.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Here we go, Maria. How much money was Kim Kardashian
- 21:35Speaker 1: awarded last week for that 2016 armed robbery in Paris?
- 21:41Speaker 1: Did she get A, 1 euro, B, 10 euros, or C,
- 21:44Speaker 1: 100 euros? Oh my God. Was it 100 euros? You're
- 21:50Speaker 1: going with 100?
- 21:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:53Speaker 1: No, Maria, the answer is A, one euro, so the
- 21:57Speaker 1: window is still open for Kim to tie it.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Kim, for the tie, what streaming service just dropped the
- 22:02Speaker 2: first trailer for Tyson, an upcoming docuseries about former boxing
- 22:06Speaker 2: heavyweight champ Mike Tyson? A, Netflix, B, Amazon Prime, or C, Peacock? C. Nope.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I'm sorry. It's A, Netflix, which would make Maria the winner.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Oh, what a great game.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Thank you. You're welcome. Kim, thank you. You can always
- 22:25Speaker 2: play again, okay? Thank you. Thank you so much. Maria,
- 22:28Speaker 2: you're going to see Journey Sunday, October 25th at Prudential Center.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Thank you. Oh, this is great.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 22:34Speaker 1: It was worth getting up this morning from the chaos.
- 22:37Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 22:41Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM. Good morning. It's Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen
- 22:46Speaker 1: on this September 21st. In fact, we'll play a little Earth,
- 22:48Speaker 1: Wind & Fire.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Please do.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Do you remember? We'll play that to kick off three
- 22:53Speaker 1: hours commercial free. That starts next. We have a lot
- 22:56Speaker 1: of tired iHeartRadio employees this Monday morning because they were
- 23:00Speaker 1: busy working or a little bit of partying, a little
- 23:02Speaker 1: bit of both.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 1: At the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas, which happened on
- 23:07Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday nights. In fact, if you didn't check
- 23:10Speaker 1: it out, you can rewatch it on Disney Plus and Hulu.
- 23:13Speaker 1: But people are talking about the performances and there were some.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Emotional moments. There were some acrobatic moments.
- 23:20Speaker 2: It was quite the scene. Because Benson Boone was there.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Benson Boone did a backflip off a piano. Of course, yes. Again,
- 23:26Speaker 1: all the highlights are up at LightFM.com. You can rewatch it. But,
- 23:30Speaker 1: I mean, a lot of things were kind of like
- 23:31Speaker 1: taking our eye over the weekend. Right, Christine?
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yes, and also all over our social as well. So
- 23:36Speaker 2: we're getting highlights there. But, yeah, relive some of the
- 23:39Speaker 2: moments and check out what you maybe missed. Lainey Wilson.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Did a really beautiful tribute to Dolly Parton.
- 23:45Speaker 1: That was classy, yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 2: So that was very emotional. And speaking of people being
- 23:49Speaker 2: able to move, Ciara, full set, five months pregnant.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Her fifth child on the way. Yes. And she was
- 23:55Speaker 1: moving and grooving. Unreal. She did Goodies and One Two
- 23:59Speaker 1: Step and all the songs you never love.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Snoop Dogg, of course. He kind of shocked everybody because
- 24:04Speaker 1: no one thought Wiz Khalifa was going to be there.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And Snoop Dogg brought Wiz Khalifa out. Major Laser closed
- 24:12Speaker 1: out the show on Saturday, a special outdoor set. That
- 24:15Speaker 1: was cool to see. There's just so many nuggets that
- 24:18Speaker 1: happened throughout the weekend.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Right. And we post a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff, too,
- 24:22Speaker 2: which is fun. And again, lightfm.com and head over to
- 24:26Speaker 2: our social media sites for iHeartRadio. You'll see it there.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It was a heck of a weekend in Las Vegas,
- 24:32Speaker 1: as usual. Gosh, we've been doing it so many years.
- 24:34Speaker 1: It's just incredible how long this has been going on.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So props to everybody behind the scenes. that made it happen.
- 24:40Speaker 1: All right, Christine, we have something to give away. We're
- 24:42Speaker 1: looking for caller number 10, 1-800-222-1067.
- 24:46Speaker 2: A pair of tickets to see Lifehouse Tuesday, October 20th
- 24:49Speaker 2: at Gramercy Theater. Tickets available now at Ticketmaster.com. Or as
- 24:53Speaker 2: Cubby said, give us a call.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Good luck, Light FM.
