- 0:00What's going on, everybody, and welcome. Welcome to the Deconstructing Topic Podcast.
- 0:05My name is David, and I'm your host of this legendary Deconstructing Topic Podcast. Hope we doing well.
- 0:12And, you know, sometimes I tend to forget that I got this platform,
- 0:17the PopBeam app platform where it lets me record, how can I say,
- 0:23podcasts on my phones, on the fly, and I tend to kind of,
- 0:27in a sense, forget that or at least underestimate that
- 0:31so i'm like you know what ain't no excuse for
- 0:34me to be talking about whatever it is what's
- 0:37going on in this world on the fly whatever it is here we go we making it happen
- 0:42and today we just got a couple of my two cents on what's going on a little bit
- 0:47of the spot sport podcast in a sense and once again you already know this is
- 0:53the legendary host david of the Deconstructing Topic podcast,
- 0:57and we are getting on a little sports thing going on on my two cents on what
- 1:02happened on this past week in the NFL National Football League, the draft,
- 1:08and the Philadelphia Eagles White House visit where Saquon Barkley, for some reason,
- 1:15was attacked a bit.
- 1:17You know, he's a black man, black running back, one of the best players right now,
- 1:21maybe arguably be the best football player right now
- 1:24playing football at the moment overall running
- 1:27back for the philadelphia eagles he used to play for
- 1:30my team the new york giants i remember that and i
- 1:33was kind of a little bit sad that he was traded how can i say to you not traded
- 1:37i'll take it back he did not resign with the giants but you know what i was
- 1:42happy for him sadly he went to the opposite team he went to the rivals philadelphia
- 1:47eagles and be that year this year they became the Super Bowl championship.
- 1:51We're going to be talking about Zach Ron Barkley.
- 1:54We're going to be talking about the situation in the NFL draft.
- 1:57The story of the weekend week with Shador Sanders.
- 2:01Deion Sanders' son was playing quarterback for the Colorado,
- 2:06Buffaloes in college and for some reason a lot of you know there's a lot of
- 2:11opinions on the matter in regards to the situation his situation how he was
- 2:16drafted what 5th round 144 by the Cleveland Browns from more people,
- 2:21for more teams at Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Browns.
- 2:25I don't even know what to say. I know a couple of people that have,
- 2:27I think I might have met one person that has been a Cleveland Browns fan.
- 2:32But if you're a Cleveland Browns fan, man, God bless you.
- 2:35Because that team, you know, I always tell people, look, listen,
- 2:38in life sometimes when you have this kind of pattern,
- 2:43if you will, if you kind of set a culture in terms of the Cleveland Browns,
- 2:50the culture of not winning, you know what I mean?
- 2:54And, you know, even though the Cleveland Browns historically back in the 50s,
- 2:58they had some great players like Jim Brown and Davis.
- 3:02And, you know, they had a good quarterback, too, trying to think.
- 3:05And then somewhere in the 80s, you know, there were contenders.
- 3:08Think about these days with the Cleveland Browns is that they were our team.
- 3:13And then the owner, are we talking about, I think, in the late 90s,
- 3:17decided to move to Baltimore and became the Ravens. Think about these days in life.
- 3:22That the Cleveland Browns, now they came back to the city, whatever it is.
- 3:26Now they are the Browns from what they was before.
- 3:28But I want you to think about this. When that owner, Art Modell,
- 3:32decided to move the team to Baltimore.
- 3:36That team in Baltimore, the same team that was in Cleveland that moved,
- 3:41won a Super Bowl, like I think within two or three years of moving. Go figure that one out.
- 3:46Ask how many times the Browns have won a Super Bowl.
- 3:49Try again. So they drafted Shador, about Sanders. So let's start with the Shadour Sanders situation.
- 3:55You know what I mean? I just wanted for people to kind of get an idea.
- 3:58You already know you got to hit the like, subscribe, because me,
- 4:02the Constructing Topic Podcast and my legendary people out there,
- 4:05we got to be touching topics of all.
- 4:07We'll be doing a little bit of all in the context of trying to educate people
- 4:12and try to give people my opinion or my at least point of view.
- 4:16You know, we don't hurt it all with with Shador Sanders being drafted in the fifth round.
- 4:20There were people that had him. And to give you an idea for those people who
- 4:25are new to my podcast, not too familiar with sports, a little bit familiar,
- 4:29Shador Sanders quarterback, black quarterback.
- 4:32And I'm going to be specific because one of the reasons why a lot of people
- 4:37that were in the pro Shador Sanders camp who thought he was going to be a top
- 4:43five pick. What does that mean?
- 4:44You got top five pick first round, whatever it is. You could be worth millions, 20, 30, 40 million.
- 4:51If you got jab in the later rounds, it doesn't mean that you're not good,
- 4:54but the pace scale kind of changes in a sense.
- 5:00And there were people that, hey, listen, they were surprised that he was not
- 5:02drafted in the first round.
- 5:04And then there were other quarterbacks. And my New York Giants said,
- 5:07look, listen, I like Shador. I think he was a good player.
- 5:11I think he has, like, that skill. I think he has the determination and the physical
- 5:17presence of doing something, being a productive quarterback.
- 5:20Whether he'll be a good quarterback, we don't know.
- 5:23But I like the dude. And I thought that the New York Giants was like,
- 5:26hey, you know, let's draft him. But the Giants drafted another quarterback by
- 5:30the name of Jackson Dart from Mississippi.
- 5:34So it's one of those situations where, in my opinion, in my opinion,
- 5:40and I was going to say is this,
- 5:42is that people and that one of the things is in my opinion is that we are doing
- 5:47something incredible in terms of, OK, you know, the Giants do their thing.
- 5:52But my thing is that people were using that, that, that black,
- 5:56you know, the race card in regards to Shador.
- 6:00And, and hey, listen, rightfully so, I done heard every single situation,
- 6:04everything, that it was colluded, that the NFL owners, they want him.
- 6:09There's people that feel like Shador Sanders, that was, that's, that was on his own.
- 6:13You know, a brash, young black man, you know, people say they,
- 6:17people don't, when I say people, a lot of people, especially the white owners.
- 6:22Some of the white coaches, that doesn't seem appealing. Some people said,
- 6:26you know, Deion Sanders coming out, talking about that, you know,
- 6:29hey, my guy might not play for certain teams, you know, and if he gets drafted,
- 6:33then we might pull what Eli Manning,
- 6:36who played for the New York Giants did, where his father, when he was drafted
- 6:40by the Chargers, they basically said, nah, we don't want to play with the Chargers.
- 6:45He got drafted, traded for Phillip Rivers, when we drafted Phillip Rivers,
- 6:51the New York Giants. Hey, the rest is history.
- 6:53Phillip Rivers is a better quarterback stat-wise than Eli. You know what I mean?
- 7:01But guess who got us the Super Bowls?
- 7:03Guess who got us the Super Bowl? That is correct. Eli Manning. You know what I mean?
- 7:08So with the situation we should do, hey, listen, again, I really enjoy watching the kid.
- 7:14But everybody is, like, you know, giving a little of what they see.
- 7:18You know, it's pointing the fingers at all that. And here's the way I see it, right?
- 7:23Everybody's not yeah everybody's right in their in their own little way does
- 7:28race car the race car absolutely because he's black brash absolutely because
- 7:34he's deon santa's kid absolutely,
- 7:36okay he might be a little bit overrated absolutely i'm saying
- 7:40i like the kid i think he's a good player but if
- 7:42people see that he was overrated because he was playing
- 7:45with travis henry the heisman trophy went out there wide receiver hey hey but
- 7:51i remember years ago a long time ago Back in like 20 years ago or so When the
- 7:56NFL Network Which I'm a big NFL fan The NFL Network Which is the channel The
- 8:01official channel of the NFL football,
- 8:04When that channel came about And I was stabbing You know I'm a football fan
- 8:08Wow you know Football 24-7 But in reality If you look at football 20 years ago
- 8:15What do you think I'll be talking about again?
- 8:17They're talking about football 24-7 That's great And you gotta keep in mind
- 8:21The NFL is the number one watch sport in America. Super Bowl, by far.
- 8:30Playoff Monday night, Sunday night, they have higher ratings than,
- 8:34let's say, watch series, which is baseball, NBA finals, basketball.
- 8:41Just to tell you how, where football in America, American football is the number one.
- 8:47So basically, when the NFL Network came out, And I'm like, you know,
- 8:52wow, like, okay, I get it. Then they're going to be talking football.
- 8:55It is a football channel.
- 8:57And I remember in the first couple of years, you know, you had a couple of live
- 9:01shows here talking football, some old school games.
- 9:04And I'm like, that's it? Like, you know, okay.
- 9:08Then they may kind of like centralize the NFL draft as their thing.
- 9:12You know what I mean? They did that, you know.
- 9:14They were putting content. They were putting some work.
- 9:17But there was one situation that changed the NFL network.
- 9:21Because football, in terms of football, football, if you're talking about NFL
- 9:26draft, a weekend thing, and you're talking about the NFL season,
- 9:31which is what, from September to January,
- 9:36early February, so we're talking about five, six months.
- 9:41So think about this. How can you find the NFL appealing?
- 9:48And there was a situation with Terrell Owens, one of the greatest wide receivers
- 9:52of all time, one of the greatest athlete, oof, one of the best wide receivers in my time.
- 9:57Absolutely. But when he was in the Philadelphia Eagles, there was a situation
- 10:01that happened where there was this drama about him, supposedly,
- 10:07I think, committing suicide or something like that.
- 10:10I get something, depression, something to that effect. And I'm sorry if I'm
- 10:14using the word, but I'm just trying to recollect here because there was some
- 10:18situation there where there was a lot of drama.
- 10:21And this is, keep in mind, this
- 10:22was like during kind of like a spring time where there was no football.
- 10:27But yet the NFL Network was on top of it, filming him. He was doing sit-ups
- 10:32and this whole commotion.
- 10:35And that's when you start to realize, and I get to the point to what I'm trying to say here.
- 10:41The NFL Network needs drama. The NFL needs drama.
- 10:45If you want to tune into the NFL Network 365 days a year, seven days a week
- 10:53outside of football, you need drama.
- 10:56You can wait for the NFL draft. You can wait for the free Asian season.
- 11:00You need drama. You know what I'm saying?
- 11:02And I think that ever since then, the NFL, for some reason, have, how can I say to you?
- 11:09Do I feel like they created drama? Yes. Do I feel like they might have created
- 11:12that situation with Theo so that you could tune into the NFL network now?
- 11:16Like if it's a drama like you're watching now, absolutely.
- 11:20Same thing with Shador. You want to watch the NFL draft Saturday,
- 11:23Sunday, Friday, you know, besides the first round because of the situation we should do? Absolutely.
- 11:31So I just want to keep people in mind and be aware of what's going on with that situation.
- 11:35I always say, look, listen, in the world of a person like me who enjoys wrestling,
- 11:41keep in mind, a lot of things are scripted. We think that it's not.
- 11:44And yes, life do happen.
- 11:47Life, things happen in life, whatever it is, spontaneous. Sure,
- 11:51something comes up. Sure.
- 11:53But sometimes when we are watching TV, remember what we're watching?
- 11:57You're watching TV Remember what TV was made of,
- 12:00TV, one of the reasons TV existed Is to entertain you,
- 12:04Yes, we might have the news We might have reality shows We might have this But
- 12:08let's be honest here When we tune into our TV When we turn on our TV It's to
- 12:14be entertained For the most part,
- 12:16It's to be entertained Some people might use TV Go and watch some educational
- 12:21documentaries And so on,
- 12:23whatever But for the most part It's to entertain you And when you consume and
- 12:27tune on to the NFL Network with Shador Sanders, you will entertain.
- 12:32Regardless of how you feel about the situation, we're entertaining.
- 12:36Now we're going to jump into the situation with Saquon Barclay.
- 12:40Tremendous play. I love that, dude.
- 12:43Sadly, that the Giants, I get it. I get it. I'm not even going to touch on that story.
- 12:48He used to play for the New York Giants, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 12:52which is our rivals, same division.
- 12:55Now, Saquon is a local kid. I think he was born in the Bronx,
- 13:00whatever it is, New York, Philly. He went to Penn State, Pennsylvania.
- 13:04So he's a local kid, you know, and he's still local.
- 13:07So now in sports...
- 13:10When you win a championship, when you win something big, you get invited to the White House.
- 13:15You know, as time passes, you get invited to the White House.
- 13:18Whether you Philadelphia Eagles, whatever team that won the NBA Finals.
- 13:24You know, when it comes to baseball, Dodgers.
- 13:28I'm not going to say whatever team won the NBA Finals. It was Boston Celtics. Let's get that right.
- 13:33So, for some reason, we live in a world now because of the current situation,
- 13:38the current president, Donald J.
- 13:40Trump. who's, you know, highly questionable character.
- 13:43But sadly, I want to say that, you know, the media or the liberal media who
- 13:49portrays him as a racist, et cetera, it's like, wow, so he's racist.
- 13:56The previous president, Joe Biden, who have had a history of racism,
- 14:00he's not racist. You know, you get the point.
- 14:02So the point is that you get invited to these White House celebrate and Sakron
- 14:06Barclay said, hey, I'm going to play golf with the president.
- 14:09I'm going to talk to the president, by all means.
- 14:12Now, I'm not a fan of, how can I say it to you?
- 14:15It's a tradition. I get it. I mean, due to my political, my history,
- 14:21worldview, you know, I'll be hesitant to go to the White House.
- 14:26But if I had the chance to go to the White House, no matter who's the president,
- 14:30whether I agree with you or not, or whatever it is that my stance on the situation, I'll go.
- 14:36Maybe I'll be talking to you directly. Hey, listen, I don't agree with that.
- 14:40Hey, I don't agree with what's going on in Palestine about that. Let's talk about it.
- 14:47Whatever it is, hey, listen, you get an invite to the White House if you have
- 14:51a chance just to at least talk about certain things that we could work together by all means.
- 14:57And that's the way I see anybody, anybody who, now if you're black and you're
- 15:02like Sancombo and Barclay, you go to the White House, ah, you're a sellout.
- 15:07But yet you're not a sellout when it comes to Joe Biden, but yet there are people
- 15:11who have said, hey, Biden is racist.
- 15:14See how this works? My thing is this, if you're going to use the same talking
- 15:18point because you're not going to go to the White House like the Stephen Curry's
- 15:21and certain players that say why they wouldn't go to the White House,
- 15:25then use it with the same of Joe Biden's, that same attitude. Come on, man.
- 15:30But just to tell you the propaganda that this country uses as they use TV to
- 15:35entertain you and to divide you.
- 15:37And I'm not with that program. I don't let that kind of dictate me.
- 15:40I don't let, you know, those certain things. Listen, I love pro wrestling.
- 15:44And I know that it's scripted. There's a good chance that I know who's going
- 15:47to win. Sometimes I get surprised.
- 15:50That's the same way I feel about politics and the same way I feel about a lot of things.
- 15:56They manipulate you. And when Saquon Barkley said what he said,
- 16:00he said it best. Hey, I golf with Trump. I golf with Obama.
- 16:04I just want to talk about his foundation, what we could do, what kind of funds
- 16:09he could get. because at the end, his foundation, whatever programs that he
- 16:13has, is to help underprivileged communities.
- 16:16One of my favorite wrestlers at the moment and of all time, CM Punk.
- 16:22CM Punk, his political views, Free Palestine, that's his political view.
- 16:28Not a fan of Donald Trump.
- 16:30But supposedly somebody called him out because, you know, WWE have shown kind
- 16:37of support for the Donald.
- 16:38Many people out there and CM Punk said, hey, listen, I might work for a company
- 16:44that supports somebody that I don't like that I think is a racist,
- 16:46whatever the case, but guess what?
- 16:48I make this company's feeding me and guess what I'm using? I'm using that money
- 16:52to feed those people in need.
- 16:55You know, sometimes, you know, we could meet people in the middle.
- 16:57We could meet institutions in the middle because you don't want to sound like a hypocrite.
- 17:01You don't want to sound like, hey, listen, and this is happening. It's a lie.
- 17:05But we're in a situation where we find ourselves in a conundrum.
- 17:09We're going to accept money from the people that are killing our family, right?
- 17:13That happens a lot. You know, you get into politics, let me get donations from
- 17:19people who affected, you know, my family.
- 17:23But because I'm running, I need money, then I'm going to turn the other cheek around. You feel me?
- 17:27That happens a lot. But sometimes you could find something of a middle. You feel me?
- 17:34So with the situation with Barkley, no other difference.
- 17:37I get some people why they're going after him. But hey, he stood at ground.
- 17:41He ain't going to apologize. He shouldn't apologize.
- 17:44And we shouldn't dictate. You shouldn't not let other people dictate what you
- 17:48should or shouldn't do for the better of the community.
- 17:53Hopefully, with the situation with Sanders, draft the fifth round,
- 17:57he's like the fourth, fifth quarterback going to be in the Browns.
- 18:00He's going to be a competition.
- 18:01Hey, I hope the kid does good.
- 18:03I hope that he finds this like a chip on his shoulder like Tom Brady,
- 18:07even though Tom Brady was a much different quarterback because there wasn't
- 18:11too much hype around Tom Brady or commotion.
- 18:14So when he got drafted in the sixth, seventh round, whatever it is,
- 18:18fifth round, whatever Tom Brady took that up on,
- 18:21a chip on his shoulder, like oh you drafted 15 quarterbacks
- 18:24and guess what he became the goal well
- 18:28he's one of the greatest of all time winning championships like it was
- 18:31nothing perhaps your door would do
- 18:34the same and just put a chip on his shoulders and become
- 18:38a legendary just like his father and even much better
- 18:41but let's see what happens let's go deconstructing topic podcast we're making
- 18:46it happen much love to out there appreciate it you already know hit that like
- 18:50subscribe comment let's talk email me the little donations always appreciate
- 18:55it we always got something going on let's make it happen i'm out of here peace let's go.
