- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the Coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. Let's talk about our our
- 0:32outcomes and how we want to wait and hold them back until they're
- 0:36polished. Now, if there's one thing that
- 0:39I'm certain of, it's that doing the videos on YouTube has been a
- 0:44challenge. And me getting used to shooting
- 0:46them, me getting used to doing them, it's all been an
- 0:49interesting little challenge. And it's taught me so much.
- 0:53My friends like so much about how you think you know what you
- 0:57want to do. And then you start off and you
- 0:59change it and you morph and you morph and you keep going through
- 1:03it and is it ever good enough? And how you change things and
- 1:06yadda, yadda yadda. And I could go on forever about
- 1:08this, especially with me being the person I am and the
- 1:11creativity and the how it it, it constantly knocks at my door.
- 1:16But there's one thing that I have learned over the past year
- 1:20of pushing to really refine what my company is doing and how I'm
- 1:24doing it. And that is that the Polish
- 1:28doesn't matter as much as doing the work.
- 1:32So when I sit and I wait and I think, oh, it has to be this or
- 1:35it has to be that, I continuously have to remind
- 1:39myself, Nope. It just has to be a good story.
- 1:42It just has to be a good, good outcome.
- 1:44And if it's a good outcome, then guess what?
- 1:47It's magical because then everybody wants to see it and
- 1:50hear it and, and find out about it.
- 1:52And it's interesting because you don't think that way.
- 1:55You think like, oh, it's going to have to be really, really,
- 1:57really like done the right way. It's going to have to be
- 2:00polished. It's going to need to be XY and
- 2:02Z. And the truth is none of that is
- 2:04true because especially now in this world of AI the way that it
- 2:09is, my friends, people are going to gravitate so much to the
- 2:15reality, the real stuff, not the AI stuff.
- 2:18I mean, the AI stuff is not going away.
- 2:20It's going to stick around, and we're going to have to all
- 2:23figure out how to navigate that as we see it.
- 2:26But I know from my own perspective, I don't want to
- 2:29watch that stuff. I want to watch stuff that's
- 2:31real. I want to see people without
- 2:34filters. I want to see people in that
- 2:36state of telling me the real stuff behind the scenes because
- 2:40no matter what happens with AI and the computers and all of
- 2:44that, we are going to still be human and we're still going to
- 2:48have to deal with ourselves and we're still going to need to
- 2:50know things and do things. So the reality is that it
- 2:55doesn't have to be polished. It has to be human.
- 2:58It has to be human. That that is the rule.
- 3:00It has to, you have to show your humanity.
- 3:03You have to show what's really going on for you.
- 3:05And in the process of doing that, something wonderful takes
- 3:09off and before you know it, you have a whole different aspect of
- 3:13yourself showing up. And you're not worried about
- 3:16looking a certain way or having the audio just right or
- 3:21everything else. It's just that you're doing what
- 3:24you're doing and you're sharing it.
- 3:25Sure. Should we try to do our best?
- 3:27Absolutely. Do I concur that we need to do
- 3:31that regularly? Yes, yes, and yes.
- 3:34And at the same time, I look at this and I say to myself, yeah,
- 3:39but I it's more important to get it out there.
- 3:41It's more important to do the right things and get it out
- 3:44there. Do the thing that you want to
- 3:46do, whatever it might be, the book, the, you know, the videos,
- 3:51I don't care. Whatever it is that you're
- 3:53working on creating, put it out there.
- 3:56And should you do the best job you can?
- 3:59Well, of course. But if you're waiting for it to
- 4:02be exceptional, if you're sitting there and you're using
- 4:05that as an excuse to hold it back, realize the Polish is not
- 4:10as important as you think it is as much as the real stuff.
- 4:13And you can always, you know, put it out there with the the
- 4:16caveat of saying, like Gary Vee says this all the time.
- 4:19He's like, if you're here and you're going to send me messages
- 4:22about punctuation, in my book, that's off or something in here,
- 4:26that's off. You're missing the freaking
- 4:27point. Although he swears when he says
- 4:29it, he's adamant about this. You're missing the point.
- 4:32You're supposed to be in there and you're supposed to be
- 4:34learning. And stop worrying about my
- 4:36punctuation. Stop worrying about my grammar.
- 4:39Just get the point of the book. And I have to say, I don't
- 4:44disagree with that. And do we do the best we can to
- 4:47catch everything? Yes.
- 4:48But we are human and we make mistakes and we have little
- 4:52proclivities that show up. So allow them to show up and let
- 4:56it show your humanity and let everyone understand.
- 4:59So I have videos that are sitting there that need to be
- 5:02put up and I find myself doing the same thing.
- 5:05Well, I want to edit this piece or well, I want to do this.
- 5:08And instead of doing that, why am I not just putting them up?
- 5:11Because I'm being stubborn because I should just put them
- 5:14up. Because I should just put them
- 5:16up. And that's what's going to start
- 5:17happening. And that's why I'm calling
- 5:19myself out here so that everyone knows it.
- 5:22So I hope you guys have a blessed day and I will see you
- 5:26all tomorrow. Bye.
