- 1:35SPEAKER_03: Misha's an amazing storyteller.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: She just bristles and thrums with sound and story.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: So it's a real thrill to have her here on this pod,
- 1:47SPEAKER_03: on the final pod,

- 1:57SPEAKER_03: But, oh, that's me getting comfortable.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: Misha, can you sing us a song?
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 2:05SPEAKER_03: Sing a song, go on.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: A welcome song.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: A welcome song, and then we'll find out all about you.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: This is our welcome song.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: You can sing with me.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: This is our welcome song.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Everybody can sing.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: This is our welcome song.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: This is our welcome song.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Come on now.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Who do you think you are?
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I'm alive, I'm alive.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: In Sarah's living room, come on baby.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Who do you think you are?
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: I'm alive, I'm alive.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: I'm alive, I'm alive.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: This is a welcome song.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Oh, everybody sing along.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: This is a welcome song.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Sweet, sweet, this love, it was made for us.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Can't beat this love that we made for us.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Sweet, sweet, oh, sweet, sweet, this love, oh.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Sweet, sweet, this love, we made it just for us.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Who did we make it for?
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: We made it for you guys.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: We made it for you guys.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: We made it just for us.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: We made it just for us.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Sweet, sweet, this love, this is your welcome.
- 4:16Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Welcome you here with us now.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Welcome me here with you.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Welcome you here with me.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Welcome to sweet home Alabama.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Misha.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: That's all right.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: I think it's time to take the scarf off.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: It's hot.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: You see what she did there, guys?
- 4:43SPEAKER_03: You see what she did?
- 4:44She just sang with her heart and her soul and her life and her
- 4:48music and everything.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: And yeah, really, you're a dude, Misha.
- 4:53SPEAKER_03: You are a dude.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: So I want to know how you got into storytelling.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Um, how did I get into storytelling?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: I think I got into storytelling.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I didn't really know anything about storytelling.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: And then it was lockdown and my friend Leah Lazell,
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: big shout out to Leah Lazell if you're out there.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: To all my layers.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Um...
- 5:17she was like Misha you have to meet this woman she's amazing
- 5:21this storyteller woman
- 5:22that I've met in Totnes and she showed me her Facebook and it
- 5:25was somebody called
- 5:26Samantha Rose and she was like dressed really beautifully with
- 5:30this hat and she was
- 5:31like taking on a story on her Facebook into the woods and I was
- 5:35like wow that woman
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: is fucking cool um
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: It's all right.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: I don't really swear very often, but there we go.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: It's because you're excited.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Because I'm excited.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: She is fucking cool.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And I was like, wow, I was so impressed with her.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: I was so impressed.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I think it was reflecting who I wanted to be.
- 5:55And then she was putting on like a container called something
- 5:58like something about the heart.
- 6:00So when we kind of travelled together for three months and she
- 6:03would tell us a
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: story and we'd do like art and it like re-woke something in me,
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: really enlivened me.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: I was feeling a bit depressed,
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: not depressed,
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: but it was like,
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: I think I used the metaphor,
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: it was like suddenly all of these like animals,
- 6:18I was like the rainforest had been sleeping and it had been
- 6:21snowing in the rainforest.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Suddenly they were all coming back alive.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: And so it really awoken something.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: And then she led me to Emerson College.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: And I heard about their storytelling course with Roy Yee.
- 6:33And so I did like a weekend course there for four months about
- 6:38our own personal stories.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: And then I did the three month course.
- 6:43storytelling school where i lived there and it was just at the
- 6:45end of lockdown and
- 6:47so everything was still kind of closed and we were like every
- 6:50day like oh we're
- 6:51gonna make it there was 14 of us when normally there's about 24
- 6:55people it was in
- 6:56autumn instead of spring it was completely different but
- 6:59because it's called
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: storytelling beyond words
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: I really loved the beyond words more than the storytelling.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: I still didn't really feel like really got the storytelling as much.
- 7:10I liked it,
- 7:11but it was really last November,
- 7:13not the one gone,
- 7:14the one before.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: So a year and a bit.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: when I started to put on these story circles.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: And I think that was really when I really began.
- 7:25And so I kind of feel like I'm at the beginning of storytelling somehow,
- 7:29in a way.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And that feels, but also tight.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: It's also been with me.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like a part of you that you're kind of bringing out.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: And what was the first story that you told?
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: Can you remember?
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: No.
- 7:47I remember we told Alalaira...
- 7:50No,
- 7:50the first story was about...
- 7:52I told Alalaira.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: The first story was...
- 7:59can't remember yeah i was just thinking i don't think i would
- 8:03be able to remember
- 8:04the first one that popped into my head that i really remember
- 8:06is the taliesin story
- 8:07that i told this was on the course but the first story was my
- 8:11story that i told in
- 8:12the storytelling one about personal stories and it was about
- 8:17that beautiful
- 8:17portuguese woman that i met and fell in love with and then
- 8:21nothing happened but it
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: was about that and then i told that story uh-huh um
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: It's a great place to start, I think, to start to mind your own...
- 8:30stories and to have that as a an anchor point when you're
- 8:34telling stories i feel
- 8:35like it's important to know what are stories about for you i
- 8:40think because i tell
- 8:42i've told in the past like you know stories about disappointing
- 8:45boyfriends or
- 8:46whatever wrapped up in some stories about princes or or
- 8:49whatever and that feels a
- 8:51bit unfair you know kind of need to process my content
- 8:54somewhere else not in a
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: primary school in peckham right yeah
- 8:59There is something about what I learned or saw was sometimes a
- 9:03story can be,
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: if it's not finished in you and you share it,
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: it's really hard to receive,
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: I think.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: when you can kind of feel it's really,
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: it's kind of like this is your,
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I think it's okay if it's your processing,
- 9:15but it's like you've got to come to some conclusion so that we
- 9:19feel safe that
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: you've got us.
- 9:21And I have watched or heard of when I haven't really,
- 9:24I'm like,
- 9:24oh,
- 9:25that feels a bit.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: So something in that.
- 9:28i'm feeling that about i'm telling tatterhood this weekend okay
- 9:32and um i've told it
- 9:34before and i think wow i don't know that's it's not in me and i
- 9:38when i told it
- 9:39before it was like a birthing of that story but i was so
- 9:44exhausted when i finished
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: telling that night i remember and i think um
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: Maybe I...
- 9:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah,
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: I just...
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: I'm really going deeper,
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: deeper,
- 9:56deeper into the story now and I'm looking forward to seeing
- 10:00what difference it makes,
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: you know.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: You mean when you told it you weren't completely in it?
- 10:05I don't feel I was completely in it and there's something about
- 10:07it birthing in the
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: moment that's exciting,
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: and it's fresh and it's a story.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: You know,
- 10:13sometimes it takes years of storytelling for me for a story to
- 10:16really kind of feel
- 10:17SPEAKER_03: whole and often...
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: When I feel I'm complete with a story, then I can stop telling it.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: It's a deep journey.
- 10:26But there was something about feeling like I missed it or
- 10:31something that made me
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: utterly drained at the end.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: I think it's really interesting.
- 10:36I've noticed sometimes it feels like stories are ahead of me
- 10:40and I'm trying to
- 10:40catch up with it and actually I come away from that performance
- 10:43and I'm like,
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: oh,
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: I really...
- 10:44you know i think it was all right but i wasn't really enjoying
- 10:47it because i felt
- 10:48like it was always in front of me and sometimes i feel like ah
- 10:52it just feels i love
- 10:53it so much it's like invigorating and i'm so it's so with me
- 10:58and also i wrote a
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: story for kids part of this arts council funding and
- 11:04i was exhausted after it and it made me think well something
- 11:07wasn't right here
- 11:08because i was so tired after it and i was like i used to
- 11:11perform years ago and i'd
- 11:13be so tired afterwards and i think i don't know what it was i
- 11:17think i think i'm
- 11:19learning not if i'm exhausted after it something wasn't quite
- 11:23right you know
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: because often i can feel so energized and it's just like
- 11:28beautiful but brilliant so it makes me think about Sally Pond
- 11:33Clayton was saying
- 11:34she's just written a book of goddess stories and she's saying
- 11:37some of the stories
- 11:38she's told for 40 years and that as a young storyteller she
- 11:43didn't feel a match for
- 11:45them and that as she's grown she's got bigger and bigger and
- 11:49more experienced and
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: can meet the stories in different ways and that reminded me of kind of
- 11:56as a young storyteller I didn't know what I didn't know I just
- 12:00kind of I just had
- 12:01this burning desire to tell stories and then I kind of had a
- 12:05feeling of sort of
- 12:06shame of like oh my god what am I doing this you know who am I
- 12:09little me to tell
- 12:10these massive stories and that's the constant kind of journey
- 12:14of feeling good
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: enough and big enough and la la la whatever
- 12:19And that's one of the things I'm looking forward to with this
- 12:23being the last pod
- 12:24episode of being able to take more care over stories and spend
- 12:29some time really
- 12:31coming back to being the storyteller that's not producing a
- 12:35podcast every week and
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: doing something new every week.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Is there some stories that you've really travelled with that you still...
- 12:46yeah like getting bored of them or yeah there's loads that I've
- 12:51kind of used to
- 12:52tell that I don't tell anymore because I just told them forever
- 12:56um the ballad of
- 12:57Tamlin I did a whole storytelling tour um it with the
- 13:01whispering wood folk with
- 13:03that and I loved that story but it's like I told it for kind of
- 13:06two years in
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: different woodlands and yeah I don't think I'd
- 13:09it'll be another 10 years before i tell that again and um
- 13:13donkey skin um there's a
- 13:15story called donkey skin which i told a lot there's a there's a
- 13:18story about the um
- 13:20uh woman who's the milky way that i told forever and this story
- 13:24that's the one that
- 13:25you wrote yeah that i wrote down and i learned that and i told
- 13:28that oh the estonian
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: one did
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: I did, yeah, it really inspired me.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I did.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: I think the little book that you gave me.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: I did a festival or two.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: I credited you, don't worry.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Just a delight.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: No, I loved, I really loved it.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: I liked it when you said, and then she saw him.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I find now that I'm saying that.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: And then she saw him.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I think that's what you... And then she saw... No, then he saw her.
- 13:57And she was...
- 13:59I can't really remember it fully,
- 14:00but...
- 14:01I can't really read it.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: And that's the thing.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: As soon as I write it down, for me, it lost its fluidity.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Because I've never written any stories down.
- 14:10I've never...
- 14:11I've always created them in the moment and told them in the moment.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: And, yeah, today I was looking on the Society for Storytelling...
- 14:21chat and someone offered somebody else a script of a story that
- 14:24they told and I
- 14:26thought wow people do things really differently you know lots
- 14:28of people do write
- 14:29their stories down and learn them and then lift them off the
- 14:33page but that's really
- 14:34hard for me to kind of get something off the page I think we
- 14:37might be similar yeah
- 14:39because I've been writing this story and it's not I'm not
- 14:42writing it do you know
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: what I mean it's like comes in visions and imagery it's exhausting
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: I found it quite exhausting to birth a story.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's hard work and it looks like nothing as well.
- 14:56I do lots of washing up and kind of menial jobs because the
- 15:00story's just kind of
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: moving slowly and I need to be moving my body and doing kind of mundane,
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: rhythmical movements whilst the story's kind of moving around.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: And I remember working with this actor,
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: Tony,
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: bless him,
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: he's dead now,
- 15:15SPEAKER_03: but when I was a young actress...
- 15:17I was with this company called Northern Stage Ensemble and and
- 15:21he would be kind of
- 15:22muttering around in the corner and if anyone trying to talk to
- 15:25him he'd say it's my
- 15:26process leave me alone it's my process and I didn't understand
- 15:31that for you know 20
- 15:32years later it's like he just needed that time of just like
- 15:36letting it all macerate.
- 15:38what do you want to do i find it walking walking yeah
- 15:42absolutely walking is so
- 15:44important yeah yeah well then it can uh ground yeah that's what
- 15:49grounds the story
- 15:50isn't it yeah what do you want to do on the pod today that's
- 15:53what i didn't ask you
- 15:54before we started i don't know but do you want to do you want
- 15:58to tell a story or a
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: part of a story or do you want to chat it's up to you
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: I like the chat.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 16:09And maybe I can tell a little bit of the beginning of my story
- 16:12that I've been making.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: That's what I was going to ask.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Maybe we can talk about that a little bit.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: But not too much because, you know.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a little taster.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Got to keep it under wraps.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: I think.
- 16:24SPEAKER_03: So, you are doing a story performance next Sunday.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Next Sunday, the 9th of March, 7 till 9, at the Wardrobe Theatre.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: In Bristol.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: In Bristol.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: In Bristol.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm going to have Emmy the harp on harp.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Somebody called Katie on cello and she's got a bass, not a double bass.
- 16:44And somebody called Sophie on the clarinet and they're going to
- 16:47play with me.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: We've not played together yet or before.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: So it's all going to be quite spontaneous, off the cuff in the moment.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: I'm quoting my blurb.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: And,
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: yeah,
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: I've been at Sandy Hill Arts Residency the last few days,
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: last week,
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: for four days,
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: which is a place near,
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: in Corfe,
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: near Corfe Castle.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: And I kind of,
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: well,
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: I've been writing,
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: thinking about this story since I went on your retreat,
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: which was in September,
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: and I had,
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: like,
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: the beginnings of it.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: So it's been a while now.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: But it's still, I'm still kind of figuring it out or, like,
- 17:23working on the scenes and trying to like make them more
- 17:25descriptive and like,
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: yeah,
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: because it's all fair and well saying this happens,
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: but how do I,
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: how do I become a little bit more descriptive?
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: That's my, I think that's my edge, my learning edge.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: And then I learn it all and then I forget it, you know what I mean?
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: And then I can,
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: so I've just actually been with Emmy today,
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: performing the story with her for the first time.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I think it went really well.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: It takes a lot to, you know,
- 17:53It feels like it takes a lot of me to...
- 17:54It feels like it's coming out of me.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I really feel it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: And so I've been through Spider Woman's journey already today.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: So I've got something to ask you.
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Because on the 9th of March,
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: I'm running a course that day,
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: so I don't think I'm going to be able to get to Bristol anymore.
- 18:18for your gig and I was thinking about finishing the course
- 18:21early and jumping in the car.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: I really wanted to see the show and then I thought,
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: Misha,
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: will you come and do it in Glastonbury?
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: I'd love to do it in Glastonbury.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: The only thing is it might just be me.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: It's hard, isn't it?
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I'd have to get,
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: because I've paid,
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: this show's costing me like £1,200 for the wardrobe theatre,
- 18:39for the musicians £300 and actually that's all been funded by
- 18:43the Arts Council.
- 18:44So I would love to come and maybe it'll be me and the guitar
- 18:47and the loop pedal.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Brilliant.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: But that would be good.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Brilliant.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: And we can invite everyone else if they want to come.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: We can invite everybody else if they want to come.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: But I thought we could have,
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: if we've got time,
- 18:57we could have a little look at Pendragon at the room up there
- 18:59and I'll show you.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: We could do it here, very small.
- 19:01SPEAKER_03: We could do it there.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: But anyway.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: I'd love to do that.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: Misha Sinclair's going to come to Gastonbury.
- 19:05SPEAKER_03: I'm coming to Gastonbury.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: Yes, great.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: That's brilliant because I feel I'm missing out there a little bit.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: It's going to be filmed.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: And photographised.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Photographised.
- 19:15SPEAKER_03: Excellent.
- 19:16SPEAKER_03: I love a bit of photographising.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: I look forward to those photographations.
- 19:23SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 19:24SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 19:26And is it going to be filmed like as a live feed or what are
- 19:29you going to do with it?
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: The guy's going to come to my sound check.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: get some little footages,
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: some pictures on the stage,
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: and then he's going to film it from two cameras.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: And then it's not going to be live streamed.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: And then I don't know really what I'm going to do with it.
- 19:47I guess it just feels good to have and good for my website to
- 19:51have little videos and shots.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Looks cool.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Me in the wardrobe theatre with...
- 19:55SPEAKER_03: three lady musicians as it should be you need a band you're absolutely a
- 20:01storyteller that needs to have a band not that you're not
- 20:05enough you know as you
- 20:07are but I hope to see in the future you with many many gigs
- 20:13with your band thank
- 20:14you great yeah do you want to do a bit of a little taster of
- 20:18the story okay all
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: right little bit whatever you like do as much as you as you feel yeah
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: If I sing the first song, it gives it away.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 20:31How many people do you think that listen to this podcast are
- 20:33coming to the show?
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Five.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Hi everybody, Misha.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: But there's only five tickets left.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: There's five tickets left, guys.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Grab them.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: It's free, and that's why there's five tickets left.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: And it's free, so if you've got a ticket, make sure you turn up.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Make sure you come.
- 20:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what we want to say.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: If you sing the first song, give it away.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: Okay,
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: so you can just say song,
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: song,
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: song,
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: and then...
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: No,
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: but it's nice to,
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: like,
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: go in with the song.
- 21:03I think it's lovely if you hear a little bit of the song on a
- 21:08pod and then you come
- 21:09and see it I think it's lovely it's not my song you'll know it
- 21:15you already know it
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: because I've already sung this once with you alright
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: We get it almost every night Do you know it yet?
- 21:41Yeah,
- 21:41I know it When the moon is big and bright It's a supernatural
- 21:53delight Everybody's dancing
- 22:00We like our fun and we never fight We will dance and stay off
- 22:09tight I'll keep my cool,
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: oh,
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: I'll keep it tight Everybody's dancing
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Moonlight,
- 22:22dancing in the moonlight Everybody's feeling warm and bright
- 22:29It's switching to me,
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: finding natural sights Everybody's dancing in the moonlight,
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: dancing in the moonlight
- 22:44Everybody's feeling warm and bright It's such a fine and
- 22:51natural sight Everybody's
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: dancing Everybody here wanna know
- 23:13how to be how to let go how do we change and find our way i
- 23:22wanna be i wanna be so brave
- 23:31Everybody's dancing in the moonlight Everybody's feeling warm
- 23:37and bright It's a
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: fine natural sight Everybody's dancing in the moonlight
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: She loves to weave.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: She is a weaver, weavering weavestress.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: She is a seamstress of wonder.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: She wove the world into existence.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: She is sweet existence.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: It forms from her hands, from her palms.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: She wove the world,
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: she wove the moon,
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: she wove the stars,
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: each and every single one,
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: she wove Jupiter and Mars,
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: she wove,
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: wove,
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: wove the rivers,
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: she wove the oceans and as she is weaving,
- 24:28she is dreaming of depth and beauty is pouring out of her heart
- 24:34in every moment
- 24:36there is a possibility for something new to arise she weaves
- 24:42the sky she weaves and
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: as she weaves what she doesn't see that inside of her there is a seed
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: This seed is deep and she doesn't want to see.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: So she pushes that seed deep down,
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: deep,
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: deep down into the deepest depths of her being and her weaving.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Her weaving gets heavy in her hands.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: What she was holding becomes heavier.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: The seeds, the stars get heavier.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: And her weaving, her threads start to knot and to tangle.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: And she weaves heartbreak and heartache.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: And she weaves shame into the world and blame into the world.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: And she begins to weave a cocoon around of her...
- 25:39stopping her keeping every thing out and as she weaves this
- 25:44cocoon around her heart she
- 25:47feels further and further away from all of the stars from all
- 25:51of the beauty that
- 25:53she wove and inside she feels rage and it falls out into empty
- 25:59space she weaves war
- 26:01in her heart she weaves forest fires and she weaves a storm
- 26:07dark clouds and thunder
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: crackles across the skies she weaves her way
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: She is weaving,
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: weaving,
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: weaving,
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: wondrous wonder and we will leave her weaving as she begins her journey.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I hope you will come to hear the rest of the story.
- 26:32in Glastonbury the wardrobe theatre and watch out for Misha in
- 26:38Glastonbury and
- 26:39catch her because I tell you what she is gonna fly and then
- 26:44it'll be like tickets
- 26:45like gold dust we'll be able to get there we'll be trading them
- 26:49there'll be people
- 26:50will be waking up setting their alarms to get up early so that
- 26:53they can get in the
- 26:54front of the queue before you know it so catch her now whilst
- 26:59she's still modest
- 27:01and
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: And small.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: May I always stay humble?
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 27:07SPEAKER_03: You're welcome.
- 27:08Wow,
- 27:08and to watch you gathering the words and creating in the moment
- 27:15is really precious.
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: And for me,
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: it's what storytelling is about,
- 27:19SPEAKER_03: is that kind of like opening up,
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: tuning in,
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: knowing something so well...
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: that you can riff in the moment is the magic for me of storytelling.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: So what, is it one whole story?
- 27:37SPEAKER_03: Is it like a whole weaving of different stories?
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: No, it's all just one.
- 27:41So Spider Woman weaves the world and then she's pushed down
- 27:45this seed and obviously
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: her weaving becomes really...
- 27:50yeah it's really you know full of anger and she weaves all of
- 27:55this negativity into
- 27:56the world that once she was so connected to and then um she
- 28:01weaves her way with the
- 28:02storm and it breaks the cocoon of safety and she goes down to
- 28:05the ocean and it's
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: like the ocean's wild and crashing and then that the sea parts
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: As it does.
- 28:11And she walks into the middle of the ocean and there's a door
- 28:15and she goes through the door.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: Then she ends up on this journey.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Don't tell us anymore.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Don't tell us anymore.
- 28:20SPEAKER_03: That is amazing.
- 28:23SPEAKER_02: Amazing.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: I'm so with you.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: We're all with you, Misha.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: We're totally with you.
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: So maybe...
- 28:30SPEAKER_03: I think that you should record it as well as an audio.
- 28:34I've got a guy to come and do professional recording of it
- 28:38because there'll be live
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: music and stuff.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: It's going to be cool.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: It's going to be amazing.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for you.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm really excited.
- 28:47so um you got a developing your creative practice grant i did
- 28:51in order to create
- 28:53this that's what's funding it isn't it yeah and um you could
- 28:56apply for a project
- 28:57grant couldn't you to um to tour it potentially yeah cool yeah
- 29:02and as a part of
- 29:02this develop your creative practice i also i had mentoring and
- 29:06i also had um i
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: basically put on a course called how to live a life we love
- 29:11six weeks exploration not saying that I know how to live a life
- 29:15we love made that
- 29:16very clear and we're like halfway through the course we're just
- 29:19about to go on a
- 29:19hedge planting weekend weekend to plant a hedgerow on a halal
- 29:24farm really random
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: and that has been yeah really well yeah that's
- 29:32very yeah it's kind of all very new and it doesn't sound great
- 29:36to plant a hedge you
- 29:37know it's like we've lived um via hedgerows in our ancestral
- 29:42times on this land
- 29:43certainly you know it's like the hedgerows contain the history
- 29:47of our folk um kind
- 29:49of pilgrimages and wanderings you know the hawthorn and the
- 29:52blackberry and you know
- 29:54all that's in the hedges i was out picking you can probably
- 29:57smell it wild garlic
- 29:59SPEAKER_03: this morning because it's just
- 30:00shooting up and just yeah thinking about the times when we
- 30:04walked at a slower place
- 30:05and told stories and sung and yeah so you're halfway through
- 30:13that course apart from
- 30:15this thing on the night is there any other way that we can
- 30:17connect with you or get
- 30:19involved with what you're doing well I've been so focused on
- 30:24this at the start of
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: the year I was like I'm not doing anything else on my Instagram Instagram
- 30:30misha m-i-c-a sinclair s-i-n-c-l-a-i-r and instagram is weird
- 30:37right because
- 30:37sometimes lots of people seem to see it and other times it just
- 30:41nobody sees it and
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: um but i i do post on there and then i will be
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: I don't know about summer anymore.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: I'm feeling like, I feel like there's big changes coming, I feel.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: And I don't know exactly what they look like.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: And you need to do the,
- 30:58that's what I find really hard about advertising when you're an
- 31:02artist because it's
- 31:03like when you're performing and something's actually really big
- 31:07and it does feel
- 31:08like it's going to change everything and that planning
- 31:11something in three months
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: time or six months time just feels ridiculous because you've got no idea.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: It's like you're going to be,
- 31:17broken into a thousand pieces and put back together and the
- 31:20world's going to look
- 31:21different and how can you agree to do a a gig um you know
- 31:25because you don't know
- 31:26what i don't know what stories i'm going to tell or whatever um
- 31:31i was thinking
- 31:32about that today but i want to do um a retreat in september
- 31:37like the retreat that
- 31:37SPEAKER_03: you came to um
- 31:39and I was thinking oh and it's all about birth and then I was
- 31:42thinking yeah but you
- 31:42just think that because it's spring and it's not it's going to
- 31:45be autumn and it's
- 31:47going to be all about coming in and holding and I'm getting a
- 31:50bit better at that
- 31:53I've got some gigs coming up guys we are coming to the end of
- 31:57the pod the end of
- 31:59the last pod of season one of Mooney's Mythic Podcast and if
- 32:03you're just like that
- 32:04SPEAKER_03: woman's voice I've got to hear it live what's she doing
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: Then this weekend's retreat is fully booked out,
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: but you can come and see me on the 20th of March at St.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: Ben's in Glastonbury.
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: That's a load of Glastonbury guys.
- 32:18SPEAKER_03: That'll be a great night.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: I'm at the Magic Teapot Gathering at Mel's Fate at the Scythe Fair.
- 32:24SPEAKER_03: I'll be in the teepee field at Glastonbury Festival.
- 32:27SPEAKER_03: Come and see me.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: I've got the witch's hat.
- 32:31SPEAKER_03: It's like a white witch's hat tent with a golden mushroom on top.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: Come and see me.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: then I'm doing Pretty Folk Festival,
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: Toll Puddle Festival,
- 32:39SPEAKER_03: Dance Camp Wales,
- 32:41and then I'm going to spend some time really taking care of my
- 32:47amazing patrons that
- 32:49SPEAKER_03: are supporting me on Patreon,
- 32:51SPEAKER_03: and if you're there and you're like,
- 32:52SPEAKER_03: yeah,
- 32:53SPEAKER_03: we signed up and she's just ignored us,
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: I know,
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: but I'm going to do some intimate storytelling with you,
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: I'm going to invite you to some things,
- 33:02SPEAKER_03: so I'm right there with you,
- 33:04SPEAKER_03: so
- 33:04you want to um uh support me on that you can it's mooney's
- 33:09mythic podcast but

- 33:20year i've done this
- 33:21podcast whether i've been high whether i've been low whether
- 33:25i've been busy whether
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: i've been quiet and
- 33:28SPEAKER_03: some have been really deep dives and some have been really funny.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: Some have been terrible, I know.
- 33:34SPEAKER_03: And some have been great.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: So I just really appreciate you tuning in to listen to what's going on.
- 33:41SPEAKER_03: And if you've got any ideas about season two,
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: what you want to be included,
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: people you think I should get along,
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: how you want it to be,
- 33:49SPEAKER_03: Just keep on giving me your ideas.
- 33:51SPEAKER_03: And I know like some people have got in touch and they're like,
- 33:54SPEAKER_03: I just like it when it's just me and you,
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Sarah.
- 33:57SPEAKER_03: And I'll be doing plenty of those as well.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: Plenty of those are just kind of sticking my microphone on,
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: sitting by the fire and telling stories.
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: But for now,
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: yeah,
- 34:09I'm just quietening down for a moment because this is the end
- 34:12of the end of season one.
- 34:18SPEAKER_03: And I want to thank the unseen and the mystery.
- 34:24I want to thank the grandmothers that told stories when they
- 34:29knitted and kneaded.
- 34:32I want to thank the grandfathers who told stories in between
- 34:37puffs on their pipe.
- 34:40SPEAKER_03: I want to thank the priestesses and the priests who
- 34:45SPEAKER_03: wrapped inside stories the secrets of initiation and soul rites that were
- 34:51threatened to being taken away all the secrets that have been
- 34:55wrapped up and held
- 34:56in stories secrets of the land of the herbs of the earth wind
- 35:01and stars i want to
- 35:03thank you mother earth i want to really thank you for that we
- 35:05get this this life on

- 35:13May you ever show me deeper ways of thanking you and being in
- 35:18harmony and gratitude with you.
- 35:20SPEAKER_03: May all my stories serve you.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: May all my stories serve the mystery.
- 35:25SPEAKER_03: I'm so grateful for this gift.
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: I'm so grateful to be alive.
- 35:30SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 35:31SPEAKER_03: Blessings and peace, podders.
- 35:33SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Misha.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Thanks for coming on.
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: Love you.
- 35:36SPEAKER_03: Me too.
