- 0:14Speaker 1: Try This Music, a new music experience.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Perfect perfect um so you have such an amazing creative
- 0:23Speaker 2: vision um and i think anyone can kind of see
- 0:26Speaker 2: that from um your social medias and how you carry
- 0:29Speaker 2: yourself on these various platforms and on spotify um the
- 0:34Speaker 2: the photography and like the world of gia so far
- 0:38Speaker 2: um is something that seems already so complex and quite
- 0:43Speaker 2: diverse and flexible. So I was really interested in how
- 0:50Speaker 2: you first decided to get into music and start creating
- 0:56Speaker 2: in that department because there's so many departments that you
- 0:58Speaker 2: seem to seem to excel in already so far.
- 1:02Speaker 3: So what drew you into music?
- 1:05Speaker 4: So basically it's not a hard question. I was growing
- 1:08Speaker 4: up with a lot of music and I'm like a
- 1:10Speaker 4: kid from 2000. I was born in 2001. So my
- 1:14Speaker 4: parents were always like putting the radio on the first
- 1:17Speaker 4: thing in the morning. My father is always doing, I
- 1:19Speaker 4: don't live with my parents anymore, but like the first
- 1:21Speaker 4: thing they're always doing, the radio is on. We're leaving
- 1:24Speaker 4: the house. The last thing that the radio is off
- 1:27Speaker 4: or sometimes my father is, is leaving the radio on.
- 1:30Speaker 4: So when we entered the house, the music, is in
- 1:34Speaker 4: the house. So I was always growing up with that.
- 1:36Speaker 4: And my parents were always showing me music, buying me CDs.
- 1:40Speaker 4: My father showed me like the Thriller music video by
- 1:43Speaker 4: Michael Jackson. They were like constantly showing me music. And
- 1:46Speaker 4: they're like, you have to listen to this record. You
- 1:48Speaker 4: have to listen to this CD. And I was just
- 1:51Speaker 4: a kid like, oh my God, this is cool. This
- 1:52Speaker 4: is like a zombie music video. Like what's going on?
- 1:55Speaker 4: And my family was, and my parents, they were always
- 1:57Speaker 4: like dancing to music and singing some crazy stuff. I
- 2:00Speaker 4: was like, what is this? Why are they singing Celine
- 2:04Speaker 4: Dion or like Beyonce and my father is just like
- 2:06Speaker 4: in the zone and it gave me so much confidence
- 2:09Speaker 4: and it felt like a blanket to me of like
- 2:12Speaker 4: home and it always gave me this like hope and
- 2:17Speaker 4: every time I feel bad or good or happy I'm
- 2:19Speaker 4: like okay what will make me feel like I'm at
- 2:21Speaker 4: home and that's music and it's always been like a
- 2:24Speaker 4: medicine a way for me to like feel confident and
- 2:29Speaker 4: feel a bit like at home and it has always
- 2:32Speaker 4: been like this power. And it came to me a
- 2:35Speaker 4: little bit because my parents were giving me so much
- 2:37Speaker 4: of that. And the same with my grandparents, the radio
- 2:40Speaker 4: was always on the first thing in the morning, the
- 2:42Speaker 4: radio was on and everyone is dancing. Everyone is singing.
- 2:45Speaker 4: I'm like, what the hell is going on? Like, why
- 2:47Speaker 4: can't we just talk? It was like, no, let's listen
- 2:48Speaker 4: to this song. Let's listen to this. And I'm like, okay,
- 2:50Speaker 4: let's go. And my mother introduced me to Amy Winehouse,
- 2:53Speaker 4: her like, ringtone was back to black and she was
- 2:58Speaker 4: always like you need to listen to emil house you
- 2:59Speaker 4: need i was like what she's like you need and
- 3:01Speaker 4: i was seven so they really put me on a
- 3:04Speaker 4: lot of things yeah yeah and um.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Did you grow up in poland um yeah yeah it's
- 3:11Speaker 2: i absolutely love that my best friend is polish um
- 3:14Speaker 2: and she came um to england in um it'd be
- 3:18Speaker 2: about probably about 10 years ago now um and so
- 3:22Speaker 2: um I really love when she speaks about music as well,
- 3:25Speaker 2: because she introduced me to so much. um underground stuff
- 3:30Speaker 2: and um kind of your niche kind of pop music
- 3:33Speaker 2: um that um we we heard here but wasn't really
- 3:36Speaker 2: big but was more so big over there um really
- 3:40Speaker 2: kind of under appreciated in the uk um so there's
- 3:43Speaker 2: so much i imagine that you grew up with so
- 3:45Speaker 2: much um amazing music um to obviously be inspired by
- 3:50Speaker 2: and um a lot of pop and you know kind
- 3:53Speaker 2: of euro pop and stuff like that um yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Also incredible Polish music. I recommend everybody to check out
- 4:01Speaker 4: like 2000 Polish playlist, like a lot of incredible Polish
- 4:05Speaker 4: singers and musicians. And the sound was just different. It
- 4:07Speaker 4: was just like people were craving honesty and truth. And
- 4:10Speaker 4: it gave me like so much like juice out of it.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Like it felt so powerful and it still feels powerful,
- 4:16Speaker 4: but I feel like people try to recreate this feeling
- 4:19Speaker 4: and it's hard to recreate this nostalgia. But like back
- 4:22Speaker 4: in the day, I was like, I need to I
- 4:24Speaker 4: need to just listen to as much music as possible,
- 4:26Speaker 4: the same as Polish music. So anybody out there listen
- 4:28Speaker 4: to Polish music. It's it's really dope.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Yes. And bands. Oh, I agree. I agree. And tell
- 4:37Speaker 3: us about the House of Hempel. I hope I'm pronouncing
- 4:40Speaker 3: it right.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's a wonderful back story and like a wonderful thing
- 4:46Speaker 2: that you've begun to kind of and continue forth this
- 4:55Speaker 2: craftsmanship and this background of, I'm assuming, really talented individuals.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, tell us about that and why you set it up.
- 5:05Speaker 4: So basically, when I was a kid, I was always
- 5:07Speaker 4: obsessed with fashion and with jewelry, of course. And then
- 5:10Speaker 4: my parents and my grandparents told me about that my
- 5:13Speaker 4: family used to do a lot of cutlery. And I
- 5:15Speaker 4: was like, oh, that's crazy. But because of the World
- 5:18Speaker 4: War II, the Second World War or the World War II,
- 5:22Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know how you say it correctly.
- 5:25Speaker 4: The Second is the first or the Second World War. Yes,
- 5:29Speaker 4: we had an issue because, of course, we couldn't keep
- 5:32Speaker 4: up with the with the cutlery making and a lot
- 5:36Speaker 4: of cutlery got stolen and then some of the pieces
- 5:39Speaker 4: survived and then my parents sat me down. They're like, okay,
- 5:42Speaker 4: we have some pieces we want to show you. And
- 5:43Speaker 4: I was like, oh my God, this is crazy. Like,
- 5:45Speaker 4: I cannot believe that my grandparents were doing jewelry and
- 5:50Speaker 4: cutlery and it was also artistic. And then I felt like,
- 5:52Speaker 4: oh my God, they're like, we're some artists in my
- 5:54Speaker 4: family and now it all makes sense. Like it all
- 5:56Speaker 4: makes sense why I love so many details and I
- 5:59Speaker 4: love looking around just the world and architecture and art. So,
- 6:03Speaker 4: And I felt like if I would continue doing music,
- 6:07Speaker 4: then I would love to just represent my family. And
- 6:09Speaker 4: it made me sad that it just stopped. And I
- 6:13Speaker 4: was like, okay, if I have the power and I
- 6:15Speaker 4: can make something out there for my future legacy, I
- 6:17Speaker 4: don't want to have kids, but if I have cousins
- 6:20Speaker 4: and my brother wants to have kids, and okay, maybe
- 6:23Speaker 4: one day I will have kids, but I don't think so.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I've never wanted to have kids. But if I could
- 6:26Speaker 4: leave something at least, and that would be like a
- 6:29Speaker 4: family business or a family brand that I really wanted
- 6:32Speaker 4: to to continue on making. And that would be House
- 6:36Speaker 4: of Hempel, basically, because the brand was called Brata Hempels.
- 6:39Speaker 4: That was Brothers Hempel. And I thought that's cool, but
- 6:43Speaker 4: let's do a House of Hempel because if my family
- 6:45Speaker 4: would be involved, that would be my cousins, my brother,
- 6:48Speaker 4: maybe his kids. And I really, really wanted to continue
- 6:51Speaker 4: with that, but because I'm making music at the moment.
- 6:53Speaker 4: And if you really want to do something special and
- 6:55Speaker 4: with silver or do a cutlery, you have to have
- 6:58Speaker 4: like a proper budget equipment. And I don't want to
- 7:01Speaker 4: just do it just so I can say that I
- 7:02Speaker 4: did it. And actually, I have two pieces here that
- 7:06Speaker 4: I wanted to show you. Like, sorry. The first thing
- 7:08Speaker 4: is the bracelet. It's super cute. Oh, wow. A friend
- 7:13Speaker 4: that did it for my grandma, I think. So it's beautiful.
- 7:17Speaker 4: And the second thing, I got it just for my birthday.
- 7:20Speaker 4: So this is this, like, beautiful spoon that I.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 7:23Speaker 4: It's beautiful. And, like, it has, like, of course, this is, like,
- 7:26Speaker 4: they did a lot of crazier things. Sorry. I don't
- 7:28Speaker 4: know how to even do that. But, like. It's so
- 7:30Speaker 4: many beautiful details and it's so beautiful. So I was like,
- 7:33Speaker 4: I would love to continue on making stuff like that. But,
- 7:36Speaker 4: you know, I need to have the budget and the
- 7:39Speaker 4: fonts and the vision and the designers, probably Polish people,
- 7:42Speaker 4: or maybe not, let's see. But that's why I was like,
- 7:44Speaker 4: I'm going to start releasing stuff and I'm going to
- 7:46Speaker 4: make it with my label. But then the moment I'm
- 7:49Speaker 4: going to make my future... bigger or brighter, then I
- 7:53Speaker 4: will continue with this cutlery and jewelry dream. So that's
- 7:57Speaker 4: the big goal. But for sure, it will take me
- 7:59Speaker 4: some years, but I'm excited and I would love to
- 8:01Speaker 4: do that. Sorry for speaking so long and fast, but
- 8:04Speaker 4: I'm just like, I can't tell you the vision and
- 8:06Speaker 4: the story.
- 8:08Speaker 3: No, Gia, I love it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Thank you so much for showing us that because it
- 8:12Speaker 2: really is beautiful.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I know it's not particularly music.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Related, but it is music related because it really highlights
- 8:19Speaker 2: the journey, I think. And it really highlights your ambition
- 8:22Speaker 2: as well and your goals and where you want to
- 8:24Speaker 2: be and what you want to be doing.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And I think it's stunning.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It's really interesting because here in the UK, there's so many...
- 8:33Speaker 2: antique stores and shops and these beautiful places. And a
- 8:36Speaker 2: lot of it feature Polish cutlery and design and pottery
- 8:43Speaker 2: as well. There's so many wonderful prints. So I can
- 8:48Speaker 2: totally see why you'd be inspired and want to continue
- 8:50Speaker 2: that because it really is the most stunning craftsmanship. And
- 8:57Speaker 2: I think it really emphasizes the talent. It's just really
- 9:02Speaker 2: it's just really wonderful to see you kind of continue
- 9:05Speaker 2: that and cherish it. And as you say, like be
- 9:07Speaker 2: able to create something for the family to kind of
- 9:11Speaker 2: pass down.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I just think I think it's really wonderful.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And I think it goes hand in hand with the
- 9:15Speaker 2: music and really informs us as to the reasoning behind
- 9:20Speaker 2: the fashion and the style. Where does your awareness for
- 9:25Speaker 2: fashion and style and clothing come from?
- 9:29Speaker 3: Because in the photo shoots that we've seen so far,
- 9:33Speaker 3: it's so.
- 9:34Speaker 2: heightened and it's a it's at a quality of somebody
- 9:37Speaker 2: who's been doing it for quite a while um and
- 9:40Speaker 2: nobody just kind of just starts with that kind of
- 9:44Speaker 2: um template it's obviously there's been so much for you
- 9:47Speaker 2: that's gone in behind this stuff um what what has
- 9:51Speaker 2: informed you so far on that journey who's inspired you.
- 9:56Speaker 4: So many people inspired me for sure family members my
- 9:58Speaker 4: grandmas they look crazy like the fits the outfits they
- 10:01Speaker 4: always would dress me in like the craziest like fur
- 10:04Speaker 4: pieces of course the fake fur pieces and and a
- 10:08Speaker 4: lot of hats and since I was a kid I
- 10:10Speaker 4: was like very experimental with that but then when I
- 10:12Speaker 4: was growing up I love magazines and I love Isabella
- 10:15Speaker 4: Blow I love Alexander McQueen I love John Galliano I'm
- 10:18Speaker 4: like I'm very visual, I think. And it really is
- 10:23Speaker 4: important to me to like connect all the dots together.
- 10:25Speaker 4: So if I have a sound or I want to
- 10:26Speaker 4: sound a certain way, it has to also look a
- 10:28Speaker 4: certain way. So it all is just like one thing together.
- 10:31Speaker 4: And then I started experimenting a little bit, but then
- 10:34Speaker 4: I was like, I'm always very focused. And what drives me,
- 10:41Speaker 4: I think it's also colors. Like I see a color
- 10:43Speaker 4: and I'm like, Oh my God, this is how I
- 10:44Speaker 4: want this song to sound like. So then I have to,
- 10:47Speaker 4: have a piece that will make me feel a certain way,
- 10:50Speaker 4: the same way that this song makes me feel like.
- 10:52Speaker 4: So colors and fabrics really make me feel like it
- 10:57Speaker 4: can work with sound as well. So when I started
- 10:59Speaker 4: making music, I was like, how would this song look like?
- 11:02Speaker 4: Or what kind of color would this song So I
- 11:06Speaker 4: was experimenting with that. And also I live in Berlin,
- 11:08Speaker 4: so I've met a lot of incredible artists. So it's
- 11:11Speaker 4: kind of hard not to get inspired or be creative.
- 11:14Speaker 4: And there's so many incredible people and brands. And then
- 11:17Speaker 4: you just see the fabrics and the colors. And I'm
- 11:19Speaker 4: obsessed with hats at the moment. And I've met so
- 11:22Speaker 4: many amazing people who did some hats for me. And
- 11:24Speaker 4: I also have examples. I'm sorry that I'm going to
- 11:27Speaker 4: give you examples, but I'm very visual. So, for example,
- 11:30Speaker 4: one of my favorite designers right now and one of
- 11:32Speaker 4: my closest friends, is Igor Pister and he did this
- 11:36Speaker 4: incredible hat for me for my first music video Own
- 11:38Speaker 4: It and it's so fab you can play around with
- 11:41Speaker 4: it and it's just so beautiful and we did it
- 11:44Speaker 4: we went to this like a building shop and I
- 11:46Speaker 4: didn't have like a lot of budget so I was
- 11:48Speaker 4: like we gotta do it under 100 euros I don't
- 11:50Speaker 4: care what we gotta do this was just like some
- 11:53Speaker 4: you know very cheap materials like girl we gotta wrap
- 11:56Speaker 4: it up we gotta do it so this is what
- 11:59Speaker 4: happened and I really cherish this piece because it's so
- 12:01Speaker 4: incredible and you can just play around with it a
- 12:03Speaker 4: lot You can just wear it on your head. You
- 12:05Speaker 4: can wear it on the shirt. You can wear it
- 12:06Speaker 4: as a, as a, as a, as an accessory. The
- 12:09Speaker 4: next thing is like this metamorpho piece. This is Berlin based. Oh, sorry.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Berlin based, um, uh, brand also incredible hats already. I
- 12:17Speaker 4: felt like this could be like a piece for, for
- 12:20Speaker 4: a new song. I felt like inspired. The color gave
- 12:22Speaker 4: me like an idea for, for another song. So that's
- 12:24Speaker 4: another connection. I see a piece and I'm like, okay,
- 12:27Speaker 4: I know how it's going to sound like. So everything
- 12:29Speaker 4: is connecting. And this is one of my favorite pieces
- 12:31Speaker 4: so far. This is by UK based artist, Meg Dennis.
- 12:35Speaker 4: And she did this incredible hat piece for me recently.
- 12:38Speaker 4: And it's so cool. And it's just incredible. So also
- 12:42Speaker 4: this inspired me by like a song that I did recently.
- 12:46Speaker 4: And I had like some weird ideas and I felt
- 12:49Speaker 4: like I'm a bit wrapped. So we also did like
- 12:51Speaker 4: this wrapped hat. So yeah, so this is exactly that.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Like you have an idea and you think of the sound,
- 12:56Speaker 4: of the smell, of the color. And then you see
- 12:59Speaker 4: the fashion in Berlin or you see the fashion in the,
- 13:01Speaker 4: in the, in the magazines or everywhere. And it's, everything
- 13:05Speaker 4: is like connected and you just feel very spiritual as
- 13:07Speaker 4: well with that. Like you just follow that. So family, friends, artists,
- 13:11Speaker 4: and incredible designers. I think that's the main inspiration.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Again, the most beautiful pieces. And so you as well.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It feels like they're so you and just so, honestly,
- 13:26Speaker 2: it's very hard to describe, but with an artist, very
- 13:29Speaker 2: often people miss, especially when they're just starting out, they
- 13:32Speaker 2: miss the stylistic style and they miss the visual style
- 13:35Speaker 2: and they don't realize that it does go so hand
- 13:38Speaker 2: in hand with each other. So it's so nice to
- 13:41Speaker 2: see you thinking about those areas and developing those areas.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And growing in that way.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And I wanted to ask you about sound print as well,
- 13:52Speaker 2: in terms of the visual side to begin with, like
- 13:56Speaker 2: the visual side, because the front cover is very striking
- 14:00Speaker 2: and very defined. It's so beautiful, honestly. And I absolutely love,
- 14:08Speaker 2: I think it's the remix. um for espresso martini the
- 14:13Speaker 2: the cover for that and how it's kind of now
- 14:16Speaker 2: um it's like been edited so it's like got the
- 14:18Speaker 2: the dots i think it's absolutely beautiful absolutely i was.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Talking to this one uh graphic designer and he told
- 14:26Speaker 4: me this is disgusting and i was like bitch i'm
- 14:28Speaker 4: gonna do it anyway.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I love the dots the cover oh they're the ep
- 14:33Speaker 2: like the releases.
- 14:34Speaker 4: The remixes because i was yeah who's like no i
- 14:38Speaker 4: don't like it we're not gonna do this cover and
- 14:39Speaker 4: i was like i'm gonna design it myself done end
- 14:41Speaker 4: of conversation so i did this cover and i love
- 14:44Speaker 4: maybe it's not the right thing to do if you're
- 14:47Speaker 4: a graphic designer i'm not but i love the dots
- 14:49Speaker 4: and i love this kind of feeling and like a
- 14:52Speaker 4: little bit of retro feeling or like i don't know
- 14:53Speaker 4: back in the day they did a lot of dots
- 14:56Speaker 4: on covers and i felt like this is just it
- 14:58Speaker 4: feels like something uh it's for sure it's different than
- 15:01Speaker 4: the sound print and the original um cover and and
- 15:05Speaker 4: i just wanted to make it a bit fun.
- 15:07Speaker 2: So it's the hair for me it's the hair on
- 15:10Speaker 2: that it's just like and the exposure um i think
- 15:13Speaker 2: it's absolutely crazy that he said that i can't believe
- 15:16Speaker 2: that it's just honestly it's.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Talking about the remixes a cover because the the main
- 15:23Speaker 4: cover i did with incredible photographer carlos castrosi and we
- 15:26Speaker 4: we did incredible photo shoot and and it's And also
- 15:30Speaker 4: it's so fun because when you create a vision and
- 15:32Speaker 4: you have it in your head, you feel like, I
- 15:33Speaker 4: don't know if it's going to work, the hair, the dress,
- 15:36Speaker 4: the everything. And you just try to have a piece
- 15:38Speaker 4: by piece and just collect it all together and connect it.
- 15:41Speaker 4: And then when you take a pic or when you
- 15:42Speaker 4: work with people, it all works. So it's incredible. And I,
- 15:45Speaker 4: and I, and I love it. So.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I think the album is very much a journey. I
- 15:52Speaker 2: think it has so many different styles across it. And yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 2: how does it feel to have it on this physical edition?
- 16:02Speaker 2: We've got the vinyls, the different colours of the vinyl,
- 16:04Speaker 2: we've got it on CD. How does it feel to
- 16:07Speaker 2: have it in your hands and be able to hold
- 16:09Speaker 2: this wonderful piece of art that you've created?
- 16:12Speaker 3: I mean, look at the back cover, the back cover.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And the hat on that back cover, how symmetrical you've
- 16:18Speaker 2: managed to get it.
- 16:19Speaker 3: It's just, honestly....
- 16:22Speaker 4: I mean this is like the proudest moment I think
- 16:24Speaker 4: for me so far in this musical journey because I've
- 16:27Speaker 4: always I that was like the biggest dream of mine
- 16:29Speaker 4: to have like a physical copy of the CD or
- 16:31Speaker 4: the vinyl and I was just praying every day like
- 16:34Speaker 4: I need to make it work I need to make
- 16:35Speaker 4: it work and a lot of people told me that
- 16:37Speaker 4: this is a dumb decision and financially wise just make
- 16:41Speaker 4: songs keep on making singles and I'm like I don't
- 16:43Speaker 4: want to make single just make singles I just want
- 16:45Speaker 4: to make physical copies for people that collect them I
- 16:51Speaker 4: collect physical media so I feel like this is very
- 16:53Speaker 4: important to have that in your house and yeah it
- 16:57Speaker 4: just felt surreal like I felt like this is not
- 16:59Speaker 4: real I received the first vinyl and I was like
- 17:02Speaker 4: this is not happening this is insane like I'm losing
- 17:04Speaker 4: my mind and I'm still like very excited like a
- 17:07Speaker 4: child and I'm always like and even my friends tell
- 17:10Speaker 4: me like you always post about it and you're like
- 17:12Speaker 4: can you just I'm like no I cannot stop like
- 17:14Speaker 4: you don't understand because it's It's just so crazy that
- 17:17Speaker 4: you can, like, it was a vision in my head, like,
- 17:19Speaker 4: the past few months. And then the next thing you know,
- 17:22Speaker 4: you hold it. And it's just so incredible that you
- 17:24Speaker 4: can actually believe that you can do it, that it's possible.
- 17:27Speaker 4: And it really, like, puts you in this, like, position
- 17:29Speaker 4: where you realize that your mind is, like, it can
- 17:33Speaker 4: do anything you want. So, yeah, the cover is crazy.
- 17:37Speaker 4: It's beautiful. This is the back. Also, I have, like,
- 17:39Speaker 4: the colors here. I will show you one or two
- 17:41Speaker 4: because I love showing people. This is like this yellow one.
- 17:45Speaker 4: It's so pretty. It's so good. It's so colorful. And
- 17:49Speaker 4: it's just so me. That's why I really wanted to
- 17:51Speaker 4: do it because I collect a lot of, a lot
- 17:53Speaker 4: of vinyls and they're like black or white. And I'm like,
- 17:56Speaker 4: it's cool. But like, I really want to do something
- 17:58Speaker 4: special for people. And for myself as well, this is like,
- 18:01Speaker 4: it's so vibrant and it's so cool. I think. And
- 18:04Speaker 4: I did like one copy that was just like, I
- 18:08Speaker 4: don't even know the color of it. It's like burgundy,
- 18:10Speaker 4: like it's like reddish and brown. Yeah. yeah it's pretty
- 18:14Speaker 4: so yeah this is and the last thing the last
- 18:17Speaker 4: one is this magenta thing i love it.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I love it and.
- 18:25Speaker 4: The cd has like the uh the the red the
- 18:28Speaker 4: red um uh oh my god I need to send
- 18:32Speaker 4: you one. So send me your address.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Honestly, I have.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I have about, probably about just over a thousand vinyls
- 18:39Speaker 2: in this house and CDs and cassettes, probably the same number.
- 18:44Speaker 3: And so it's like, I'm a bit of a vinyl snob.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Because it's like, I love the colours and I love the,
- 18:51Speaker 2: I know exactly what you mean about the colour and how,
- 18:53Speaker 2: you know, most pressings are just like black or just
- 18:55Speaker 2: white or something like, or clear or something like that.
- 18:58Speaker 3: So it's really amazing.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I have the, I actually have down here, Finally Enough Love,
- 19:05Speaker 2: the Madonna one. And this is, this is printed on
- 19:10Speaker 2: like similar colours. It's like got yellow, it's all the
- 19:13Speaker 2: rainbow stuff. I think this is the rainbow edition. So
- 19:16Speaker 2: I know exactly what you mean. I know exactly what
- 19:18Speaker 2: you mean.
- 19:19Speaker 4: The colors are so vibrant. You feel so alive and
- 19:23Speaker 4: so fresh. And it just gives you this like love
- 19:25Speaker 4: and hope and this experience. Like if you play it
- 19:27Speaker 4: on your phone and on your speaker, it doesn't give
- 19:29Speaker 4: you this experience.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yeah, well, this is it. Exactly. So this is totally it.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I mean, it's like with an album, especially like Soundprint,
- 19:38Speaker 2: you want to hear the whole story.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Obviously, it's got an intro. It's got an outro. It's
- 19:43Speaker 3: a journey.
- 19:44Speaker 2: With streaming, what we find ourselves doing is skipping through.
- 19:48Speaker 2: And you lose the quality as well, I think. I
- 19:50Speaker 2: think you lose certain sounds. And, you know, it's just
- 19:54Speaker 2: a different listening experience.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I love putting a.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Vinyl on and then having it go all the way through,
- 19:58Speaker 2: especially a few times as well. Whenever I hear an
- 20:01Speaker 2: album for the first time, I go through, you know,
- 20:03Speaker 2: a couple of times to really kind of let it
- 20:05Speaker 2: sit with me.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I made so many notes on the same print. I
- 20:10Speaker 3: had to write it all down because.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I was like, I know in the moment I'm going
- 20:13Speaker 2: to forget what I'm talking about and it's just going
- 20:15Speaker 2: to go wrong.
- 20:16Speaker 3: But it's such a wonderful piece of art. And that's
- 20:18Speaker 3: what it is.
- 20:19Speaker 2: It's art because it covers, I feel like, so many
- 20:22Speaker 2: different styles. And it has a real progression to it,
- 20:29Speaker 2: which I really love.
- 20:31Speaker 3: I put... Oh, I can't.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I can't even read my I can't even read my
- 20:36Speaker 2: head right I put this see you again it's very
- 20:38Speaker 2: like 2010s um kind of early 2010s summery and bright
- 20:45Speaker 2: um this.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Is the first song I've ever wrote in my life
- 20:48Speaker 4: I did it in 2021 I moved to Berlin I
- 20:51Speaker 4: don't know what I want to write I don't know
- 20:53Speaker 4: what I want to say but there's this one person
- 20:54Speaker 4: that I I don't ever want to see again and
- 20:57Speaker 4: I used to see their face all the time when
- 20:59Speaker 4: I was in Berlin, but that was about a person
- 21:00Speaker 4: from Warsaw. And I was like, I'm in a different city. Like,
- 21:03Speaker 4: why do I keep seeing this face? Is my brain
- 21:05Speaker 4: tricking me? And I was like, I need to let
- 21:07Speaker 4: it out. So that was like the first song that
- 21:08Speaker 4: I started and finished. And I was like, we have
- 21:11Speaker 4: to release it. And then I was waiting a few
- 21:13Speaker 4: years because I was starting to release it. But I
- 21:15Speaker 4: was like, if I'm going to release it, it has
- 21:16Speaker 4: to be like a proper release. And I'm happy that
- 21:18Speaker 4: I waited. But it's, yeah, it's a cool song. And
- 21:21Speaker 4: I'm happy that you say that it gives you this
- 21:23Speaker 4: 2010 vibes because I really wanted to give it like,
- 21:25Speaker 4: early 2000s, a little bit of vibe to it. Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Well, it's not a sound that you really hear anymore
- 21:32Speaker 2: these days. It's kind of like a lost sound. So
- 21:35Speaker 2: when I heard it, I was like, wow, this is
- 21:37Speaker 2: what it really reminds me of. Just following on what
- 21:40Speaker 2: you just said there, did you always envision an album?
- 21:44Speaker 2: Did you always envision launching with this album and having
- 21:48Speaker 2: these songs, if they were written at different times, did
- 21:50Speaker 2: you always envision that this would be the format that
- 21:53Speaker 2: you would put this collection of music in?
- 21:56Speaker 4: No. I mean, this is just an EP and all
- 21:59Speaker 4: those songs are just demos. Like, to be honest, I
- 22:02Speaker 4: was just like, I really want to have an opportunity
- 22:04Speaker 4: to make something. And in Warsaw, I wasn't really able
- 22:07Speaker 4: to make a proper song or songs. And it was always,
- 22:12Speaker 4: there was always a sign that was like, no, it's
- 22:15Speaker 4: not possible. This producer was Not really willing to work.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Another person didn't have time. And it was always like
- 22:20Speaker 4: a big no. Everywhere was like the sign was a no, no, no, no, no.
- 22:23Speaker 4: And then they moved to Berlin and I was like,
- 22:25Speaker 4: I really need to do it. When I was 18,
- 22:26Speaker 4: I was like, I really want to make music. And
- 22:28Speaker 4: I always had this feeling that I really want to
- 22:30Speaker 4: do it. But then I was waiting for maybe to
- 22:32Speaker 4: change because everyone would tell me like, oh, it's, you know,
- 22:35Speaker 4: it's not the real thing. You should just be, I
- 22:37Speaker 4: don't know, have a normal job. But I've always felt
- 22:40Speaker 4: like this is not for me. And then I was like, no,
- 22:43Speaker 4: I have to just keep on moving. So then I
- 22:46Speaker 4: turned 18. I was like, no, I need to make music.
- 22:47Speaker 4: I need to make music. And it was just like
- 22:49Speaker 4: banging in my head every day. Like, you need to
- 22:50Speaker 4: make music. And then I went to Berlin in 2021.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I've met a few producers. And then I was like, okay,
- 22:56Speaker 4: let's go. And everything was like a yes. Everyone was
- 22:59Speaker 4: like a green light. Everyone wanted to work. People wanted
- 23:01Speaker 4: to experiment. And I didn't have to have like a...
- 23:03Speaker 4: crazy background or like already like songs to be able
- 23:07Speaker 4: to work with those people. And that gave me a
- 23:08Speaker 4: lot of confidence and like feeling like, OK, I'm in
- 23:10Speaker 4: the right place. I know what I'm doing. I know
- 23:12Speaker 4: who I am. I know what I want to say.
- 23:14Speaker 4: But still, those demos were just like for me to
- 23:17Speaker 4: be like, I feel like I dipped like my toe.
- 23:20Speaker 4: It was like I won't see if the water is cold.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Like it was just like this. I allowed myself to
- 23:25Speaker 4: just dip a toe. But I want to just jump
- 23:29Speaker 4: into the water. That's why now I'm working on a
- 23:31Speaker 4: proper album. But the EP was just like, I'll just
- 23:34Speaker 4: try to make as many demos that I can and
- 23:36Speaker 4: just see if they're cohesive in any way, lyrically or sound-like,
- 23:40Speaker 4: and let's just go. And this is what I did.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I still feel like this EP is just like a
- 23:44Speaker 4: little start and it's not... I mean, I'm proud of it,
- 23:47Speaker 4: but of course I feel like I can do... I
- 23:51Speaker 4: don't want to judge it, but of course I can
- 23:52Speaker 4: do so much better things, but it's still a great
- 23:54Speaker 4: EP and it's a great start. But I know that
- 23:57Speaker 4: this is just the beginning and I'm very excited and
- 24:00Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm ready to just jump into the water,
- 24:03Speaker 4: you know, like just go for it. So, yeah. So
- 24:06Speaker 4: of course, like this, you know, as I said, the,
- 24:08Speaker 4: the songs, um, I just allowed that to happen. And
- 24:12Speaker 4: now it's just blessed that I did some demos that
- 24:14Speaker 4: I can release that that's how it felt. Yeah. Like
- 24:16Speaker 4: an opportunity. So I just squeezed it.
- 24:19Speaker 2: But they all blend together so well, I think. It's
- 24:22Speaker 2: really strange how well the vibe carries through each song.
- 24:26Speaker 2: And I think that's probably because it's you and you
- 24:29Speaker 2: can feel your presence, especially, and your character and your
- 24:33Speaker 2: artistry all the way through each track. And I think
- 24:36Speaker 2: that's probably why these demos blend so well with each other.
- 24:40Speaker 2: They don't really sound like demos as well, which is
- 24:42Speaker 2: another nice thing. They sound really well put together and
- 24:45Speaker 2: really well produced. And it does still feel very manageable.
- 24:51Speaker 4: And the people were working on it very hard, but
- 24:54Speaker 4: for me, it was just like, let's just get this
- 24:56Speaker 4: idea straight away. I didn't have like, I had like
- 24:58Speaker 4: a few other things that I wanted to work on,
- 25:00Speaker 4: but of course, you know, it was just like the
- 25:02Speaker 4: first thing that I ever put together. So yeah, the
- 25:05Speaker 4: production and just everybody who worked in it, they're incredible.
- 25:08Speaker 4: And they really put so much time and effort into it.
- 25:11Speaker 4: But I was just speaking, you know, about the, like,
- 25:14Speaker 4: I wasn't really thinking like, should I make a better
- 25:16Speaker 4: song or better? Should I write something better? I was like,
- 25:19Speaker 4: let's just, go for it.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm glad you did. I'm really glad you did.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Because it's, you know, I'm really glad that you have
- 25:27Speaker 2: the attitude of, if I don't do it now, I'm
- 25:30Speaker 2: not going to do it.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean?
- 25:32Speaker 2: I really like that attitude, because you with art, especially,
- 25:36Speaker 2: you have to kind of like, you just have to
- 25:39Speaker 2: put it out there, you have to get it seen,
- 25:40Speaker 2: and you have to kind of spread it. And, you know,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I feel like that's where the growth comes from, as
- 25:45Speaker 2: well reinvention, and it just kind of presents more opportunities
- 25:51Speaker 2: to reinvent and to grow and this, that and the other.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Another one that stood out for me was What You
- 25:56Speaker 2: Love Does. It feels very everything but the girl coded.
- 26:03Speaker 2: It's kind of got like a late 90s, early 2000s.
- 26:07Speaker 2: It's got, it's like the beat of, they did a
- 26:10Speaker 2: song called Five Fathoms and it feels very much like that.
- 26:14Speaker 2: And I was just like, oh, this is so nice.
- 26:17Speaker 2: This is just like, It's so good because you can feel...
- 26:20Speaker 2: I'm really glad the first conversation we had in this
- 26:22Speaker 2: interview was about your background and about the music that
- 26:25Speaker 2: you grew up listening to because you can see now
- 26:28Speaker 2: how this has influenced this EP and the production values
- 26:35Speaker 2: on it.
- 26:37Speaker 3: And was it like... Do you think it was... Is
- 26:40Speaker 3: writing music and producing music... Did you.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Come to the realisation that it's something that comes easily
- 26:46Speaker 2: and naturally... Or is it something that you kind of,
- 26:50Speaker 2: that takes a lot of time to think through and
- 26:53Speaker 2: to write each track? Because obviously you're quite new still
- 26:58Speaker 2: and you've kind of, you're dipping your toe into music, right?
- 27:02Speaker 2: Is it something that you've thought to yourself, oh, this
- 27:04Speaker 2: is something that I find so natural, so easy, it
- 27:07Speaker 2: just comes flooding out? Or is it something that takes
- 27:11Speaker 2: a little bit more time, a little bit more finesse
- 27:12Speaker 2: for you?
- 27:13Speaker 3: What do you think your experience is like?
- 27:16Speaker 4: So far, I think that when it comes to like
- 27:19Speaker 4: lyrically and when it comes to writing a song, it's
- 27:23Speaker 4: quite natural because I've been going through some stuff where
- 27:26Speaker 4: I feel a certain way and I just have to
- 27:27Speaker 4: let it go or let it out. So I create
- 27:30Speaker 4: melodies and it just comes to me. It's like fishing.
- 27:32Speaker 4: You know, you fish and then you have a and
- 27:34Speaker 4: then it's like that. You just have to have this
- 27:36Speaker 4: first step. I cannot believe I just say that this
- 27:39Speaker 4: is like fishing. That's crazy. But yeah, I mean, you know,
- 27:44Speaker 4: it's just like you have to fish for those ideas, basically.
- 27:46Speaker 4: And if you really just put yourself out there, it
- 27:48Speaker 4: will all come to you. The production, I try to
- 27:52Speaker 4: produce a lot of stuff by myself, but I'm the
- 27:54Speaker 4: worst at it. I'm the worst. So usually I work
- 27:59Speaker 4: with a lot of different producers. And at the beginning
- 28:00Speaker 4: of my journey, I was working with Rene Corbett, who
- 28:02Speaker 4: is produced what your love does to me see you
- 28:04Speaker 4: again um you cannot break me and he is incredible
- 28:09Speaker 4: producer and he just gave me that um a lot
- 28:13Speaker 4: of ideas and a lot of sounds that he loved
- 28:16Speaker 4: and and then it was quite easy for me to
- 28:18Speaker 4: just adjust and start writing how I felt because then
- 28:20Speaker 4: I when you have like a a nice idea or
- 28:23Speaker 4: like a melody then you can just kind of start
- 28:25Speaker 4: saying okay I'm I don't want to feel this way
- 28:28Speaker 4: or this kind of person made me feel this way.
- 28:30Speaker 4: And then you just, it all starts pouring out of you,
- 28:33Speaker 4: I think. So, so when, and I feel like we
- 28:36Speaker 4: go through so much every day that every person should
- 28:39Speaker 4: write something every day. Like I feel this way or
- 28:41Speaker 4: I'm going through this way and therapy or just for
- 28:45Speaker 4: just so you're aware of how you really feel or
- 28:47Speaker 4: what's going on in your life. So you can understand
- 28:49Speaker 4: yourself a little bit more, but yeah, For sure, writing
- 28:52Speaker 4: and creating melodies is quite easy for me, but the
- 28:56Speaker 4: production part, I need to have help, and I've worked
- 28:58Speaker 4: with a lot of different producers, and they usually give me, like,
- 29:01Speaker 4: this good... I tell them, like, I want to create
- 29:03Speaker 4: this kind of sound or this, and they just give
- 29:05Speaker 4: me ideas, or they show me something that they really love,
- 29:08Speaker 4: and then I'm like, okay, let's go. And they're all
- 29:10Speaker 4: also inspired by, like, 2000, and they were living in
- 29:13Speaker 4: that era or the 90s, and they really know what's
- 29:16Speaker 4: going on, so... So it's nice. And of course, working
- 29:19Speaker 4: with people, it's always a journey and you have to
- 29:22Speaker 4: just see what the person or the person you're working
- 29:26Speaker 4: with would like to do or what they are into.
- 29:28Speaker 4: But usually it's kind of, you just click, it just clicks.
- 29:33Speaker 4: So writing, melody, singing, slay, the production, I'm not quite sure.
- 29:40Speaker 4: about that but of course I'd love to learn more
- 29:42Speaker 4: and I try to play some stuff by myself and
- 29:44Speaker 4: now when I'm working on this album I do a
- 29:46Speaker 4: lot of production myself but then I also show some
- 29:49Speaker 4: stuff to people and then I redo stuff with them
- 29:52Speaker 4: so when I have like demos basically then I go
- 29:55Speaker 4: to that I'm working with right now, I work with
- 29:58Speaker 4: Adam right now, this Polish producer, he lives in Madeira
- 30:00Speaker 4: in Portugal, and I showed him some stuff and he
- 30:04Speaker 4: just sends me something and he's like, this, and I'm like,
- 30:06Speaker 4: oh my god, this is, yeah, it sounds so good,
- 30:08Speaker 4: it sounds so fresh, and the keys, the drums, everything, so, so, um,
- 30:14Speaker 4: It's just like a mutual thing, I think. It depends
- 30:17Speaker 4: on the vibe of people you work with. But I
- 30:19Speaker 4: feel like also it's quite easy when you know what
- 30:21Speaker 4: you want or at least when you know what you
- 30:23Speaker 4: want to write about or what you want to say
- 30:24Speaker 4: or how you feel. Or even if you don't know
- 30:26Speaker 4: how you feel, because you write something, then people can
- 30:30Speaker 4: be like, okay, she feels this way or that way.
- 30:31Speaker 4: They can kind of adjust a little bit.
- 30:33Speaker 3: So.
- 30:35Speaker 4: sorry for speaking so much.
- 30:37Speaker 2: No no honestly yeah it's amazing honestly it's amazing keep
- 30:41Speaker 2: going it's absolutely brilliant stuff and what's the reception been
- 30:46Speaker 2: like to this release and just the beginning of your
- 30:51Speaker 2: artistry as a whole what kind of reception have you
- 30:54Speaker 2: had from people who you're close to and for people
- 30:58Speaker 2: now discovering your music like through social media or whether
- 31:01Speaker 2: it's like live performance or just basically just showing someone
- 31:05Speaker 2: what you're doing um what's the reception been like for
- 31:08Speaker 2: you because obviously it's very it's quite a brave thing
- 31:11Speaker 2: to do to put yourself on this pedestal i mean
- 31:13Speaker 2: we get judged for our art right so um how's
- 31:17Speaker 2: it how's that experience been for you so far.
- 31:20Speaker 4: So far, it's been great. Everyone is pretty nice and
- 31:24Speaker 4: positive about it. And I'm very glad and I'm very
- 31:26Speaker 4: blessed because it's just so nice to hear that somebody
- 31:29Speaker 4: likes a song or they like an EP and they
- 31:31Speaker 4: listen to it. Actually, a lot of friends of mine
- 31:33Speaker 4: were like, yeah, good job. I'm not going to listen
- 31:35Speaker 4: to it because that's not my genre, but keep going, girl.
- 31:39Speaker 4: And some friends of mine that I've never even knew
- 31:41Speaker 4: that like this kind of music, they listen to it constantly.
- 31:45Speaker 4: And there's some people that I've met who are, for example,
- 31:46Speaker 4: a bit older who are like, I really like it.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Or some people are like, I don't really necessarily like
- 31:51Speaker 4: it because of the genre, but still, I think the
- 31:53Speaker 4: production-wise and what you did is good. So I haven't
- 31:56Speaker 4: met anyone who would be like, this is a total crap.
- 31:58Speaker 4: But also if somebody would say that, I would actually
- 32:01Speaker 4: enjoy the feedback because I feel like it's also very
- 32:04Speaker 4: very good to hear like what, for example, they didn't like.
- 32:07Speaker 4: And if somebody is very nice and the criticism is
- 32:10Speaker 4: like a productive thing, then I'm like, let's sit down,
- 32:14Speaker 4: let's get some wine or cheese and let's go. Let
- 32:17Speaker 4: me tell me something, you know, like, and I really
- 32:19Speaker 4: also appreciate that. Like I was sitting with this one
- 32:21Speaker 4: producer as well. And he also told me that he
- 32:24Speaker 4: didn't necessarily like few things as well. And he was
- 32:26Speaker 4: super honest and super sweet about it. And I was like, okay,
- 32:28Speaker 4: it's like, then the next thing or the next, the
- 32:31Speaker 4: next song could be done. this way or that way technically,
- 32:34Speaker 4: for example, but also I wouldn't really change anything I
- 32:37Speaker 4: do because this just comes from me and it's, you know,
- 32:40Speaker 4: I just want to let it go and let it out.
- 32:42Speaker 4: I don't really think in this technical stuff because I
- 32:44Speaker 4: know a lot of people are very technical about melodies
- 32:47Speaker 4: and syllables and the verse and the chorus and it's
- 32:49Speaker 4: good to do that, but I just kind of am
- 32:52Speaker 4: guided by like my own head and just how I feel.
- 32:55Speaker 4: I don't want to think in like, oh, what would
- 32:59Speaker 4: people want to hear or what would be the next trend?
- 33:01Speaker 4: How the fuck no. I'm sorry for cursing. I'm a person.
- 33:06Speaker 4: I just want to let it out. And just kind
- 33:08Speaker 4: of like, for example, only at my first release, there's
- 33:11Speaker 4: like a, like I wrote, trust yourself and never, ever
- 33:14Speaker 4: let somebody else dictate the way you shine. Every room
- 33:17Speaker 4: you step ahead, your golden boots and the redhead scream
- 33:20Speaker 4: your name. And I just wrote that because I needed
- 33:22Speaker 4: that advice. I needed somebody to tell me that. And
- 33:25Speaker 4: I wasn't necessarily thinking, okay, I want people to hear it. No,
- 33:27Speaker 4: I was like, I need that advice. No one's going
- 33:30Speaker 4: to give me that. anybody. So I need to just
- 33:33Speaker 4: write it. So I wouldn't necessarily, um, ask anybody for
- 33:36Speaker 4: any advice anymore and how they really feel. I'm just
- 33:38Speaker 4: glad that people listen to it and they like it.
- 33:40Speaker 4: And if they don't, I'm also very, uh, happy to
- 33:43Speaker 4: hear what they didn't like or what they like, but yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 4: I just need to let it out and not listen
- 33:47Speaker 4: to anybody because you're.
- 33:56Speaker 2: And just, like, in general, a creative person, because I
- 33:58Speaker 2: imagine it's quite hard to shut your brain off because
- 34:02Speaker 2: there's so much going on all the time. I think
- 34:05Speaker 2: you strike me as somebody who's very aware of their
- 34:08Speaker 2: surroundings at all times and is constantly looking and being
- 34:12Speaker 2: inspired by everything around yourself and in your environment, wherever
- 34:17Speaker 2: you go, whatever you see.
- 34:19Speaker 3: You strike me as very much as such a creative.
- 34:24Speaker 3: But also... it's.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Very easy, I think, when you're like that, to get
- 34:29Speaker 2: very hard to get it out and hard to, you know,
- 34:34Speaker 2: think about the right ways in which to get this output,
- 34:38Speaker 2: to output these feelings, right? How do you stay so
- 34:41Speaker 2: motivated and avoid being burnt out by creativity and kind
- 34:45Speaker 2: of getting bogged down and burdened by it?
- 34:48Speaker 3: How do you expel these feelings?
- 34:50Speaker 4: So I basically feel... incredibly blessed because I'm I don't
- 34:56Speaker 4: want to call it motivated because I don't feel like
- 34:58Speaker 4: I'm motivated I'm just very hungry I've always been very
- 35:01Speaker 4: hungry and I've always I really really want to do
- 35:03Speaker 4: that and because people in Poland and in Warsaw would
- 35:07Speaker 4: always tell me like you know like this is not
- 35:09Speaker 4: possible you shouldn't be craving something that it's impossible you
- 35:13Speaker 4: cannot do it and I was like you know what
- 35:15Speaker 4: this is crazy like it would always fuel me and
- 35:18Speaker 4: but also since I was 16 I always had this
- 35:20Speaker 4: like feeling like I'm here for a reason I have
- 35:23Speaker 4: this energy and there's something inside of me that is
- 35:25Speaker 4: pushing me every day that wakes me up every day
- 35:28Speaker 4: and I always constantly think about music and making music
- 35:31Speaker 4: and writing stuff and Being consistent is the most important
- 35:34Speaker 4: thing on earth for me. And even if I don't
- 35:37Speaker 4: feel I'm sick, I'm tired, I don't, I just tell myself,
- 35:40Speaker 4: I'm not tired. I'm not sick. I'm just going to
- 35:42Speaker 4: write a word. I'm going to write a title. I'm
- 35:44Speaker 4: going to open the mood board. I'm going to put
- 35:46Speaker 4: a picture. I'm always going to do something that will
- 35:49Speaker 4: keeps me, you know, keeps me one step ahead that
- 35:54Speaker 4: I know that I did something. And it's just very
- 35:57Speaker 4: natural to me. And it feels like some sort of,
- 35:59Speaker 4: Lifestyle at this point because I just wake up. I
- 36:02Speaker 4: eat my breakfast. I take a shower I exercise and
- 36:04Speaker 4: then boom i'm gonna write a little song i'm gonna
- 36:07Speaker 4: write something and i'm always inspired by something and there's
- 36:10Speaker 4: like so many Opportunities and so many pieces art pieces,
- 36:15Speaker 4: um fashion shows There's so many fucked up things happening
- 36:18Speaker 4: in your life. Then you're like, you know what? I
- 36:21Speaker 4: need to write it down how I feel so i'm
- 36:23Speaker 4: always in this zone of like, I need to go,
- 36:25Speaker 4: I need to go, I need to go. The time
- 36:27Speaker 4: is clicking as well. I'm not going to get any younger,
- 36:29Speaker 4: even though I feel sexy, beautiful. I know who I am.
- 36:32Speaker 4: I know what I'm doing, but still, I know that
- 36:36Speaker 4: the time is clicking and I won't be here forever.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Maybe I'm giving 50, 60 years and that's that. So
- 36:41Speaker 4: when you think of it like this, then you don't
- 36:43Speaker 4: have much time. It's 60 summers. It's 60 winters or
- 36:47Speaker 4: 70 winters. I pray as much as possible, but you know,
- 36:51Speaker 4: I don't have that much time. So I need to
- 36:53Speaker 4: just let it all go and continue every day of
- 36:56Speaker 4: pursuing it, doing it every day. Even if it's a
- 36:58Speaker 4: small thing, even if somebody is starting out or they're
- 37:00Speaker 4: like blocked, write something horrendous or write something beautiful and
- 37:04Speaker 4: just say it. Like I write something stupid and then
- 37:07Speaker 4: you can make something good out of it or make
- 37:09Speaker 4: a song about eggs or about, about a tree. And
- 37:12Speaker 4: then you will find something good in that as well.
- 37:14Speaker 4: So you cannot stop. You have to just continue every day.
- 37:17Speaker 4: It's like a prayer or it's like, It's like your
- 37:21Speaker 4: everyday thing like exercising or stretching or eating. For me,
- 37:25Speaker 4: it's like breathing and eating. It's like a part of
- 37:27Speaker 4: my routine, part of my life. And if I stop,
- 37:29Speaker 4: I will never do it ever again because you cannot stop.
- 37:32Speaker 4: And when you get so, I don't want to say obsessed,
- 37:34Speaker 4: but when you're so hungry and obsessed and you have
- 37:36Speaker 4: this excitement for it, it's like some sort of addiction
- 37:39Speaker 4: you want to get. And the more you release, the
- 37:41Speaker 4: more you make it, the more CDs you make, the more...
- 37:45Speaker 4: things you release you're like oh my god I'm capable
- 37:47Speaker 4: you kind of start having the superpowers of like I
- 37:50Speaker 4: can do it I'm this person and it's working so
- 37:53Speaker 4: it only fuels me and I don't I don't have
- 37:55Speaker 4: that motivation sometimes I'm like fuck it but then I'm
- 37:57Speaker 4: gonna still continue writing or or sending like a demo
- 38:01Speaker 4: to a producer or a friend or and I'll try
- 38:03Speaker 4: to still keep on going because you cannot really stop
- 38:05Speaker 4: and if you want to stop you can but you
- 38:08Speaker 4: know for me it's just like a part of everyday
- 38:11Speaker 4: thing right now. Maybe that's unhealthy because my personal life
- 38:14Speaker 4: doesn't really exist, but still we are on the, this
- 38:17Speaker 4: is like a rodeo we're on and this is what
- 38:19Speaker 4: we're going to do. So yeah. Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Um, I couldn't agree more. It's, it's, it's like a mantra.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I think it's like some days I have days where,
- 38:30Speaker 2: you know, I get up and I struggle to get
- 38:31Speaker 2: stuff done. But then other days I wake.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Up and I'm just absolutely fueled.
- 38:35Speaker 2: And a lot of it is through stuff like this,
- 38:38Speaker 2: you know, being inspired by other people. I mean, there's
- 38:40Speaker 2: stuff from this interview that I'll take forward with me
- 38:43Speaker 2: probably forever, because it's it's really it's just wonderful to
- 38:47Speaker 2: sit with somebody who's so inspired and so switched on.
- 38:50Speaker 2: and just really understands themselves. And, you know, just, yeah,
- 38:55Speaker 2: it's really incredible at such an early stage. And because
- 39:00Speaker 2: we're still at such an early stage, what do you
- 39:03Speaker 2: envision you'll do in the future? And I know you
- 39:07Speaker 2: just said it's kind of just, it's a daily thing.
- 39:10Speaker 2: You know, a lot of it can be quite unknown.
- 39:13Speaker 2: But what are your goals and what are your ambitions,
- 39:16Speaker 2: like musically?
- 39:18Speaker 3: Do you hope to have?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Albums that kind of stretch over a period of time
- 39:22Speaker 2: that are different to each other, you know, cover different influences,
- 39:25Speaker 2: different styles? Or um do you kind of want to
- 39:28Speaker 2: find a set style or a set genre something that
- 39:31Speaker 2: you become known for for doing and your audience gets
- 39:34Speaker 2: comfortable with how do you envision this progression of your
- 39:38Speaker 2: artistry will kind of pan out i know that's a
- 39:40Speaker 2: very difficult question it's very difficult um how do you
- 39:44Speaker 2: how do you think.
- 39:46Speaker 4: I think that I just have to continue making music
- 39:49Speaker 4: and then we will see because I don't think I
- 39:51Speaker 4: have a I'm still looking for my sound but I
- 39:53Speaker 4: also don't want to put myself in a box I
- 39:54Speaker 4: love jazz I love hip-hop I love you know I
- 40:00Speaker 4: don't know so many different genres as well and I
- 40:02Speaker 4: love the 90s and I know that all of those
- 40:10Speaker 4: time pieces have like different feeling and vibe and it's
- 40:14Speaker 4: all so different but I I don't really want to
- 40:16Speaker 4: put myself in any box. I just want to continue
- 40:19Speaker 4: on making songs and let it out. And then we
- 40:22Speaker 4: will see. But for sure, I would love to do
- 40:23Speaker 4: like a Christmas album and I would love to do
- 40:25Speaker 4: a jazz album and go crazy with it and just
- 40:28Speaker 4: not shovel myself like, OK, because my music sounds like
- 40:31Speaker 4: from 2000s or like this song. I don't want anything
- 40:34Speaker 4: to ever define me, my hair color, the way I look,
- 40:37Speaker 4: the way I sound. Maybe that's bad. Because, of course,
- 40:41Speaker 4: if you want to be a bigger artist, you have
- 40:43Speaker 4: to have some sort of style or genre that will
- 40:45Speaker 4: define you so people can go crazy over you. But
- 40:48Speaker 4: I would rather stick to being authentic and just try
- 40:50Speaker 4: to always experiment a little bit and don't shovel myself
- 40:53Speaker 4: into this. Like, I need to be this one thing.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Hells to hell no. I don't ever want to be that.
- 40:58Speaker 4: And I would love to just continue discovering that, experimenting
- 41:02Speaker 4: as much as I can. And also, it depends on
- 41:04Speaker 4: the budget, on the production. I would love to do, like,
- 41:06Speaker 4: a live orchestra album one day, have, like, insane... orchestra
- 41:11Speaker 4: with me that would be like the biggest dream of
- 41:12Speaker 4: mine but of course I need the coin I need
- 41:15Speaker 4: the money I need the money everybody so so I'm
- 41:20Speaker 4: also just thinking from like a reality perspective like if
- 41:24Speaker 4: you know you need to have the money for doing
- 41:26Speaker 4: a proper album and proper genre so for now I'm
- 41:29Speaker 4: just trying to do the pop thing and I'm enjoying
- 41:31Speaker 4: it but if I would have all the money in
- 41:33Speaker 4: the world we are doing the Christmas song we're doing
- 41:35Speaker 4: the orchestra album and I have so many cool ideas
- 41:40Speaker 4: but um i'm manifesting it i know what's gonna happen
- 41:43Speaker 4: and everything is in my head and i want to
- 41:45Speaker 4: play stadiums and i would love to play festivals but
- 41:48Speaker 4: for now i'm just building it building slowly slowly building
- 41:51Speaker 4: it and i feel like that's the proper way to
- 41:52Speaker 4: do it to not go crazy and maybe it'll happen
- 41:55Speaker 4: one day and if not then i'm sticking to my
- 41:58Speaker 4: artistry and to my own schedule and of course i
- 42:01Speaker 4: would want things to be faster and better but The
- 42:04Speaker 4: most important thing is like you are doing what you
- 42:06Speaker 4: want and you have your own vision and no one
- 42:09Speaker 4: is standing behind me. Like you have to speak a
- 42:12Speaker 4: certain way and you have to look a certain way
- 42:13Speaker 4: because I would go crazy. So as long as I'm
- 42:18Speaker 4: just producing and making stuff and I can release stuff
- 42:20Speaker 4: so people can actually listen to it, then that's like
- 42:22Speaker 4: the dream of mine. And the biggest dream is just
- 42:24Speaker 4: to be able to make music for the rest of
- 42:25Speaker 4: my life. That's the biggest dream. And of course I
- 42:28Speaker 4: would love to have those big things, but I think
- 42:30Speaker 4: the most important things are like those small things. So
- 42:32Speaker 4: being able to, eat well, exercise and do music with
- 42:36Speaker 4: people that actually see me for who I am and
- 42:38Speaker 4: as an artist. It's great to have those big things,
- 42:41Speaker 4: but they don't really matter that much to me. I
- 42:43Speaker 4: want to have a healthy family, be healthy and just
- 42:46Speaker 4: continue on making music. I had this talk with this
- 42:49Speaker 4: one with this firm or the studio like two months ago.
- 42:52Speaker 4: And they're like, what do you want to be? Who
- 42:55Speaker 4: you want to become? Who you want to be in
- 42:56Speaker 4: the music industry? And I was like, I just want
- 42:57Speaker 4: to be in it. I just want to continue to
- 43:00Speaker 4: exist in it. And that's like the biggest dream of mine.
- 43:02Speaker 4: They're like, but you can always do it. I'm like, no,
- 43:04Speaker 4: but I want to pursue it and I want to
- 43:06Speaker 4: be in it and I want to be happy doing it.
- 43:07Speaker 4: And I don't want to feel like I'm carrying a cross.
- 43:10Speaker 4: that I'm like dying every day doing something that I hate.
- 43:12Speaker 4: I just want to enjoy myself and I want to
- 43:15Speaker 4: do music that I want to listen to and that
- 43:16Speaker 4: I'm proud of. And they were very disappointed. They wanted
- 43:19Speaker 4: me to say like, I want to sell out like
- 43:21Speaker 4: copies of this and have followers. Like it's good to
- 43:24Speaker 4: have some sort of people that support you and it's great.
- 43:27Speaker 4: But as long as you're happy, healthy, and you can
- 43:29Speaker 4: do what you really want and stick to your vision,
- 43:31Speaker 4: that's it for me. That's the biggest blessing. And I'm
- 43:33Speaker 4: praying that it's going to happen and I'm sure it
- 43:36Speaker 4: will take some time, but that's the most important thing
- 43:38Speaker 4: on earth. Yeah. Yeah.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Um, brilliant answer. Um, absolutely wonderful answer. Um, so much detail. Um,
- 43:45Speaker 3: and I love to hear it.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Um, I, um, I think you answered that, um, the,
- 43:50Speaker 2: that firm, the right answer, you know, I'd rather have someone,
- 43:54Speaker 2: you know, in reality and kind of really comfortable being
- 43:58Speaker 2: themselves and just understanding that a lot of this processes are,
- 44:02Speaker 2: and it takes time. Um, I think what's important to remember,
- 44:05Speaker 2: especially a lot with the industry, it's about money and
- 44:09Speaker 2: it's about how they can, how they can kind of, um,
- 44:12Speaker 2: turn the profit and, you know, and this and that,
- 44:15Speaker 2: how they can maximize their, their, um, investment.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Um, and I'm not about that. I don't like that.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I'm much preferred the artistic side because a lot of
- 44:24Speaker 2: it takes time. Um, and a lot of it takes years.
- 44:27Speaker 2: It takes years to develop, um, and master a lot
- 44:30Speaker 2: of these areas. So, Yeah, I think I think that's
- 44:34Speaker 2: the perfect answer. I'm going to hit you with my
- 44:36Speaker 2: last question, Gia. And it's probably the most reflective. And
- 44:41Speaker 2: it could be to do with life or it could
- 44:43Speaker 2: be to do with music or just just anything in
- 44:46Speaker 2: general that strikes out to you as that moment. But
- 44:50Speaker 2: what would you say is your proudest moment so far?
- 44:55Speaker 4: I think we spoke about it, but I think the
- 44:57Speaker 4: proudest moment so far has been releasing the physical copies
- 45:02Speaker 4: of the EP Soundprint on CD and on vinyl because
- 45:06Speaker 4: it's just, it made me realize that how powerful my
- 45:09Speaker 4: mind is and how just a small idea can turn
- 45:12Speaker 4: into something so big and probably continuing because it's very hard.
- 45:18Speaker 4: It's very easy to start and it's very easy to
- 45:20Speaker 4: finish things. But also just every day when you wake
- 45:24Speaker 4: up and you know that it's not going to be hard,
- 45:25Speaker 4: you can give your 100, 200% of yourself and nothing
- 45:29Speaker 4: is going to change or nothing is happening. But being
- 45:32Speaker 4: able to continue, being able to not give up, not
- 45:35Speaker 4: listening to anybody who is trying to tell you they
- 45:38Speaker 4: should stop or you should do something different. So staying
- 45:40Speaker 4: true to yourself, getting... getting like ready mentally for yourself
- 45:50Speaker 4: only when it comes to art and life as well.
- 45:52Speaker 4: Just like doing everything for your own pleasure and benefit,
- 45:55Speaker 4: like exercising, working out, listening to music that you want
- 45:58Speaker 4: to listen to, not really following the trends, trying to
- 46:01Speaker 4: get inside of yourself to realize what you really want
- 46:04Speaker 4: to do, who you want to be. So like the
- 46:07Speaker 4: proudest moment so far for sure is the CDs, vinyl and,
- 46:10Speaker 4: continuing releasing those pieces and just trying to dig deeper
- 46:14Speaker 4: into myself rather than escaping myself I think that's the
- 46:16Speaker 4: most important thing not being scared of like good and
- 46:19Speaker 4: bad stuff just taking it all in and being like,
- 46:22Speaker 4: you know, this is who I am. This is what
- 46:23Speaker 4: I'm going to do. And I don't know what's going
- 46:24Speaker 4: to happen. And I will, there's this saying, like, I will, um,
- 46:29Speaker 4: I will try or, or die trying something like this.
- 46:33Speaker 4: And I feel like exactly like, this is what you're
- 46:35Speaker 4: going to do. You have to try. And if you're
- 46:37Speaker 4: going to die trying, at least you tried because I
- 46:39Speaker 4: don't want to be like 80 or 90 being like,
- 46:41Speaker 4: I wasted my life. I wasted everything because I was
- 46:44Speaker 4: so scared. And I'm scared as shit to everybody out there.
- 46:47Speaker 4: I'm scared. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm panicking
- 46:50Speaker 4: all the time. I need to tap myself. I go
- 46:52Speaker 4: to physiotherapy. I work out. I need to meditate. I'm
- 46:55Speaker 4: still scared, but you have to do it scared. You
- 46:56Speaker 4: have to do it scared. You have to do it alone.
- 46:58Speaker 4: You have to, it's good to have, like, I have
- 47:00Speaker 4: a good, uh, supporting system. And I think that's also
- 47:03Speaker 4: the most important thing in your life. And the proudest
- 47:05Speaker 4: moment that I have a good supporting system. My family
- 47:07Speaker 4: is supportive. My brother, my grandma, my friends, everyone is
- 47:10Speaker 4: very supportive, but still you need to focus on yourself.
- 47:13Speaker 4: and be really digging inside of yourself. And then that's
- 47:17Speaker 4: the sauce. That's the secret sauce, really. Brilliant.
- 47:21Speaker 3: You have so much to be proud of.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I think it's, I think the physical side is just, it's,
- 47:27Speaker 2: I think it's a massively defining moment for you because
- 47:29Speaker 2: I think it really shows you as an artist, the
- 47:32Speaker 2: potential and it kind of feeds that hunger. which I
- 47:37Speaker 2: really like the sound of artistically. And I'm really happy
- 47:42Speaker 2: that you have such an amazing team around you that
- 47:45Speaker 2: can really understand you and understand your vision and where
- 47:48Speaker 2: you want to go, because there's nothing worse than having
- 47:51Speaker 2: somebody suppress you and not allowing you to express yourself.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Labels are really notorious for doing that. Industry people, if
- 48:02Speaker 2: you run into somebody who's going to suppress you, no good.
- 48:05Speaker 2: so um it's really good that you have that um
- 48:08Speaker 2: team around you um where you can express yourself in
- 48:12Speaker 2: every single way that you want to whether it be
- 48:15Speaker 2: stylistically um fashion or music um is there anything you.
- 48:20Speaker 4: Advise for it as well it's not gonna be given
- 48:22Speaker 4: to you just gotta stand on your ideas and even
- 48:24Speaker 4: if you look dumb or you feel stupid you have
- 48:26Speaker 4: to really stand on it and yeah it's gonna get.
- 48:31Speaker 2: I could not agree more. I could not agree more.
- 48:34Speaker 2: It's a daily thing, as you say. It's a daily thing.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Is there anything.
- 48:40Speaker 2: For the future that you want to throw in, maybe
- 48:42Speaker 2: a date or anything like that, if you have anything
- 48:45Speaker 2: in the works that you kind of just want to
- 48:47Speaker 2: add in at the end, if there's anything your audience
- 48:49Speaker 2: can be expecting?
- 48:51Speaker 3: Or is this a comfortable period where you're.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Working on the next thing and just waiting and really
- 48:57Speaker 2: letting the EP sit with people for a bit?
- 49:01Speaker 4: I mean, I'm working on a new album and I'm just,
- 49:03Speaker 4: you know, it's all about the budget timing and my
- 49:06Speaker 4: work and working with incredible producers. So it's all about
- 49:09Speaker 4: how are we going to make it work? And we're
- 49:12Speaker 4: working on it. I just finished this song, Live My Life,
- 49:15Speaker 4: which you heard on TikTok. And I really love it.
- 49:18Speaker 4: I don't know when I'm going to release it and
- 49:19Speaker 4: if it's going to be released. going to be the
- 49:20Speaker 4: first release of the new piece and I don't know
- 49:23Speaker 4: what's going to be the timing for sure. I'm planning
- 49:25Speaker 4: on releasing new music this year, maybe in two months,
- 49:28Speaker 4: maybe in three months, maybe in four months. I really
- 49:30Speaker 4: want to do it as fast as possible, but I
- 49:32Speaker 4: also want to do it properly and I want to
- 49:34Speaker 4: have like a proper release. I don't want to just
- 49:37Speaker 4: throw things out there because it doesn't make sense. But, um,
- 49:41Speaker 4: and I did this song called dance with me, which
- 49:43Speaker 4: I really, really, really love. I don't know if that's
- 49:44Speaker 4: going to be the final title, but two or three
- 49:47Speaker 4: songs are already ready, but I need to come up
- 49:51Speaker 4: with like artistic covers. I need to come up with, um,
- 49:55Speaker 4: you know, with, uh, with, uh, I need to just
- 49:58Speaker 4: make it work. It has to be, I don't want
- 50:00Speaker 4: to say perfect, but it has to be, polished it
- 50:02Speaker 4: has to be incredibly done and it's already i really
- 50:05Speaker 4: enjoyed and i really like it so i cannot give
- 50:06Speaker 4: you a proper date but expect expect something soon i
- 50:10Speaker 4: pray and i will try to make it as fast
- 50:11Speaker 4: as possible but it all depends on on the artwork
- 50:17Speaker 4: and the mixing and mastering and and the quote in
- 50:20Speaker 4: the morning so the most important thing i mean it's
- 50:25Speaker 4: not but yeah in the music industry you need to
- 50:27Speaker 4: have money to make it work a little bit so
- 50:29Speaker 4: i'm working my ass off to make it happen And yeah,
- 50:32Speaker 4: but soon, faster than later, for sure. Sooner than later.
- 50:36Speaker 4: And this year, this year, new music and the album
- 50:39Speaker 4: may be the end, the beginning of new year. So
- 50:41Speaker 4: and I know I'm going to love it. I'm manifesting it.
- 50:43Speaker 4: The new music is going to be great. And I
- 50:45Speaker 4: hope we'll love it. And you're going to you're going
- 50:47Speaker 4: to get a copy as well.
