- 0:00For the dirty secrets, the textile industry doesn't want you to know about today on the
- 0:04non-toxic living podcast.
- 0:07Hello, everyone and welcome to the non-toxic living podcast.
- 0:12My name is Warren Phillips, otherwise and most commonly known as non-toxic dad, and
- 0:17I'm so excited to talk about this topic today, the textile industry, even the organic textile
- 0:23industry.
- 0:24The clothing industry in general should have ingredient tags on their clothing, the sheets,
- 0:29the fabrics that we're using because they're super toxic, and I'll get right into it.
- 0:33Even organic, and we're going to get into all the different types of fabrics today, which
- 0:37ones are better, which ones are toxic, and what is the best?
- 0:41This is one of the grossest, most perverted industries I believe that we're dealing with today.
- 0:47The food industry is one, you have agriculture being another, you have pharmaceuticals, and
- 0:52then you have the textile industry.
- 0:54The cover-up, I would say, is that we're just looking at products like Sheen and these
- 1:00fast fashion.
- 1:01We talk about the heavy metals in the toxins and how this clothing is plastic and how toxic
- 1:06that can be to your body.
- 1:08All the different chemicals that can be inside of those plastic fabrics, polyester is a
- 1:12plastic fabric, plastic-based, petroleum-based fabric, and there can be all kinds of toxins
- 1:18in there.
- 1:19In fact, it's even organic.
- 1:20Organic cotton can have quite a bit of toxins in it, depending on how it's processed and
- 1:24can be petroleum-based as well.
- 1:26This is where it gets interesting.
- 1:27This is how dirty it is.
- 1:29Many of you know that we do clothing not to be what's best for your body and particularly
- 1:34your skin, because a lot of this stuff can cause skin reactions and dermatitis, contact
- 1:38dermatitis, and we're taking medications.
- 1:40Meanwhile, it's the lululemon that could be potentially causing that that they're
- 1:43wearing on our skin.
- 1:45The textile industry doesn't really care about your health, that really doesn't care about
- 1:49your skin.
- 1:50It really cares about its profits.
- 1:52It's come down to using ingredients and chemicals that are actually inexpensive instead
- 1:59of expensive, because it costs quite a bit more to make a shirt out of cotton and natural
- 2:03fabric than it does to make it out of polyester.
- 2:07When you can get a double triple the margin by moving from a natural fabric to a synthetic
- 2:12fabric, that's what they do.
- 2:14That gives them more marketing dollars to put influencers out there on nice tight pants
- 2:19that flex, pull up their pants, and flex their butt cheeks at you in their lululemon tight
- 2:24products.
- 2:25What else could be Nike?
- 2:26It could be a number of those common brands, but there are so many of them and they're
- 2:30flaunting the tight fit and what they look like because really what they're selling you
- 2:35is sex.
- 2:36They're selling you what looks sexy.
- 2:38What the world is doing, what everybody else is doing, and then you're convinced that
- 2:43this stuff is safe and you're convinced that this is what you have to wear.
- 2:47Even my family, because it's so common and everyone around us is wearing even in the
- 2:52homeschool industry, even the crunchy homeschool industry that I'm in, the community to them
- 2:57in, there's so many people wearing plastic tights and they won't get rid of them guys.
- 3:01They continue to wear them because it makes their butt look good and everybody else is
- 3:05wearing it.
- 3:06I'm telling you, it is all about marketing and we can all be programmed to believe
- 3:10something safe.
- 3:11So I'm not going to judge you if you don't believe what I believe because it took me years
- 3:15to come to this realization that the textile industry is absolutely toxic.
- 3:20I wish.
- 3:21I wish that they'd have to disclose the ingredients, what they die of these fabrics with and so
- 3:26many times I've even called, you know, like smart wool.
- 3:28I've given them a call and I'm like, hey, what do you die your stuff in?
- 3:31And like all you have to call here, there's our parent company and of course they'll
- 3:35just say, you know, dies that are environmentally friendly.
- 3:38That's the best I can get out of them.
- 3:39So you really, what that means is there are dies that will eventually buy it a grade
- 3:44in the environment, but they're not natural.
- 3:46There's all kinds of toxins that can be inside of those dies and let's talk about these
- 3:50different dies.
- 3:51So the before I move on and talk about these toxic dies, but let's talk about the industry
- 3:55once again, polyester, right, let's let's talk about how bad that is, first of all.
- 4:00And then we'll move on to some of the dirty secrets, more the dirty secrets within the
- 4:03textile industry.
- 4:04I don't want to drop polyester right now.
- 4:06Polyester is essentially a plastic clothing and it's, here's the problem with it, right?
- 4:12The more you wash it, the more you dry it, the more these particles start to fall off.
- 4:16So literally when you're sleeping at night, and if you have a polyester blended sheets,
- 4:21these microplastics can get inside of your body.
- 4:23So when you're flipping them in the dryer and they're going, boom, boom, boom, boom,
- 4:26microplastic dust, your lint tray is full of microplastic dust.
- 4:29If you did a swab around the edge of your house and on flat surfaces, it's full of microplastics.
- 4:35Where's that coming from?
- 4:36Your carpet, obviously, but also your clothes and your dryer, it's shedding off of you constantly.
- 4:41And the other problem, and they found this in studies, that the bras and the plastic polyester
- 4:48fabrics, the nylons that you're wearing, especially our children, can have dangerous
- 4:53levels of BPA, Bisfinol A, which is a known hormone disruptor.
- 4:57And sometimes they switch out that chemical for Bisfinol S, which is more impactful to your
- 5:03fertility than BPA, which is more hormone disruptive in the way of triggering something like weight
- 5:08gang.
- 5:09On top of that, these chemicals have entreatments, especially inside the fabric to make the fabric
- 5:14and even the dyes have formaldehyde, which is a known carcinogen.
- 5:18They can also to make it look nice and stiff and beautiful.
- 5:22They can put these silicone coatings and polymers, which are also not good for your body.
- 5:26They can even use forever chemicals to make them stain resistant a lot of times.
- 5:31They can use, and they do this still.
- 5:33They even use flame retardants to pass likely some law when they have to ship it from the
- 5:38U.S. to here, or its kids clothing, or they just think the chemical makes it work better
- 5:44for the clothing.
- 5:45So here we are.
- 5:46We have not only plastic clothing and plastics to be clear are now being linked to all kinds
- 5:51of diseases, neurodegenerative conditions, like Alzheimer's, heart disease, or finding
- 5:55these microplastics buried in the plaquing and of arteries, and why is that happening?
- 6:00These foreign substances in your body plaques around it.
- 6:03So it's showing up not just there, but everywhere showing up in male testicles, female
- 6:08parts, all the different organs in our body.
- 6:10If you look at the research, now have microplastics embedded in them.
- 6:15And the one studies show that you have the weight of a plastic spoon in your brain, of
- 6:19microplastics.
- 6:20And so you have to ask yourself this question, is this okay?
- 6:23Is this connected to the onslaught of neurodegenerative conditions, of chronic disease in the world
- 6:30today?
- 6:31And the health conditions, even skin conditions, because we're going to talk about how
- 6:35the fabric that you're wearing is actually affecting your skin microbiome, and your skin
- 6:38microbiome is what makes you healthy.
- 6:40So a lot of the skin conditions were having, having a lot of the health conditions were
- 6:44happening or tied to these microplastics in these chemicals, and it's not just their
- 6:47clothing.
- 6:48Today's topic is clothing, because I really want to dig even deeper into this dangerous
- 6:53industry and give you some shocking statistics.
- 6:56And so let's go there.
- 6:57Do you know, and this could be your organic cotton t-shirt you have on, could be dipped
- 7:01in up to 20 to 30 different chemicals before it's placed onto your skin?
- 7:06Wow.
- 7:07That's crazy, right?
- 7:08Do you know even your organic cotton t-shirt, and this definitely goes for your polyester
- 7:11t-shirt, could be 20% the weight of the dyes, the binders, and the coatings that they're
- 7:18putting on that shirt to make it look nice, to put it all together.
- 7:20And did you know that those dyes, even though it's on an organic cotton t-shirt, now I'm
- 7:24not talking got certified, we'll talk about that in a minute, but certified organic
- 7:30gots, or got certified organic cotton, a little bit different, but just your general
- 7:35run-of-the-mill conventional organic t-shirt can be up to 20% of these chemicals, and they
- 7:40are chemicals.
- 7:41They're like a plastic coating, if you will.
- 7:44So for example, they did a study, and they talked about just a regular old cotton shirt,
- 7:47even if it was bleached, it would biodegrade in the landfill in a couple weeks.
- 7:51Let's just, for example, it's right around there.
- 7:53But if you took a regular old conventional organic t-shirt and tried to biodegrade it, it
- 7:58wouldn't, because the plastic and chemical coatings won't allow the bacteria to break
- 8:04that down, the microbes to break it down.
- 8:06And that being said, a lot of the pollution in the ocean, these nanoplastics, are not
- 8:10coming from the t-shirt, they're coming from the dyes that are in the clothing, and that's
- 8:15coming out in our washer.
- 8:17And this is a really big deal.
- 8:19That's why there's companies, a company just sent me out, I don't remember the name of
- 8:22it, but they sent me something to capture the wastewater and bind these microplastics,
- 8:27because it's becoming a huge issue, and the ocean fish are now loaded with microplastics.
- 8:32So now we're ingesting fish that has microplastics.
- 8:35And to finish this off, do you know that you're ingesting and breathing about a half credit
- 8:40card a week in microplastics?
- 8:43So especially, and that's just the average, and it could be more depending if you're using
- 8:47carpet and the other sources.
- 8:49Now this couch here is made with organic cotton, right?
- 8:52It's all natural organic.
- 8:54The foam in here isn't synthetic, so it's not putting off microplastics.
- 8:56It's natural rubber.
- 8:58So when I'm sitting here, it's not a poof of microplastics.
- 9:00If this is your typical foam, go like that, there's a poof of microplastics coming up and
- 9:05you're breathing them.
- 9:06Let's go a little bit even deeper into these dyes and toxins.
- 9:10So here you are, you think you're, let's move to where we sleep at night, and you bought
- 9:15and we'll talk about the different types of shirts and clothing that are better.
- 9:18I have some examples to give you some answers at the end of this show, but let's go to our
- 9:23sheets where we're spending, we're sweating and we're hot and we're in our sheets and
- 9:26we all love our sheets.
- 9:27We love our silky smooth sheets.
- 9:29A lot of people are using bamboo sheets, and so the bamboo sheets that are made of viscose
- 9:35are rayon.
- 9:36These are really highly chemically treated bamboo sheets and the dyes in them almost always
- 9:42are going to be still be a synthetic petroleum-based dye, and they're toxic, right?
- 9:47So then let's move towards polyester.
- 9:49If you have polyester smooth polyester sheets, which are obviously worse than the toxic
- 9:54bamboo sheets made out of rayon or viscose, but there's a good one, much better.
- 9:59Clean bamboo made out of liice cell.
- 10:02Now that's a lot better and sheet companies like Editude will go there and there's even
- 10:05better sheets than that, but here you are once again, sleeping in sheets made out of polyester,
- 10:11even bamboo, especially the toxic kind, and then they're dyed with these synthetic dyes,
- 10:16the petroleum-based dyes, and they contain residues of toxic chemicals like isosignates
- 10:21and xylene.
- 10:22And here's the problem, those chemicals do not work with your biology.
- 10:26There's nothing they can do, and they're highly toxic to your biology, in particular,
- 10:31your microbiome.
- 10:32And your skin has a microbiome.
- 10:33You always hear about skin care products saying, hey, we add ceramides.
- 10:38These natural lipids that your body produces, they produce them naturally, and we take a lot
- 10:42of the time, toxic skin care products that have a bunch of petroleum-based toxins in them,
- 10:46and then synthetic ceramides, and we put them on our skin, and that's going to make us
- 10:49healthy.
- 10:50But our body actually produces through your microbiome, and it's cool, like our gut bacteria
- 10:55produce anti-inflammatory, short-chain fatty acids, so our bacteria really do produce
- 11:00fats for our body.
- 11:01So these healthy lipids for our skin, ceramides are produced by bacteria on our skin, and we
- 11:06put this fabric, and there's studies to show this, that have these residues of xylenes
- 11:10and isocyanates, and it literally shuts down these little fat factories, these lipid-making
- 11:16factories that keep your skin hydrated and protected and coated, and creates a really
- 11:21nice skin barrier.
- 11:22And then you're putting clothing on you, and or sleeping in sheets, that contains these
- 11:25toxic chemical residues, and this is just a couple of them that literally break down
- 11:30these factories, that make these skin microbiome, these skin bacteria that create a healthy
- 11:37skin barrier for you, and put those factories either completely eliminated or highly reduced
- 11:43in their output of these lipids, your body, your skin needs to stay healthy and hydrated.
- 11:50So here we are, wondering why we have an exomect epidemic, we have acne, we have contact
- 11:56dermatitis, we have all these rashes and skin issues, and it literally could be the clothing
- 12:01that you're wearing causing contact dermatitis, because there's a lot of allergens in this
- 12:05stuff.
- 12:06We're going to talk about what we wash or close in in a second as well, but isn't this
- 12:10ridiculous?
- 12:11If you think about it, toxins are the root cause of a lot of problems in our body, and
- 12:16they can literally cause you to age rapidly, they can mess with the collagen in your skin,
- 12:21and this is the insanity that we have today.
- 12:25We're using toxic chemicals, allowing them in our environment, we're getting skin reactions,
- 12:30we're getting health problems, we're allowing these products to be made of plastic, whether
- 12:35it's clothing, or your sheets, or the couch that you're sitting on, and we're breathing
- 12:40in these chemicals, these toxins, and they can also off-gas these chemicals.
- 12:44Like I said, there's the BPA, the formaldehyde, which can be carcinogenic, these different
- 12:48hormone disrupting and carcinogenic compounds soaked inside of your t-shirt, of your kids
- 12:54t-shirt, and it's not on the ingredient list.
- 12:56They don't have to tell you that they're soaking your shirt in toxic dyes, they don't
- 13:00have to tell you if they're soaking your organic cotton t-shirt in toxic dyes.
- 13:05Here's got certified.
- 13:06What's nice about got certified organic cotton is that for the most part, they're testing
- 13:11that so that it's not toxic to your skin and body.
- 13:13It doesn't mean it's not petroleum-based, it does mean they can't use some of these
- 13:17really harsh chemicals that are going to cause those skin reactions.
- 13:20For the most part, it's a much better choice.
- 13:23Cots certified organic cotton is a way better choice and you can get those at even Walmart.
- 13:30That's great.
- 13:31If you can't, what I'm going to tell you next, there's a much better process and where
- 13:36you get back to these ancient traditions where you're using unbleached sheets and you're
- 13:40using the plants, medicinal plants, in the t-shirts.
- 13:44Patagonia started doing this, isomays doing this, there's harvest and mill, there's a company
- 13:49they're doing this, so there is a movement back towards traditional clothing making and
- 13:54dyes and they're beautiful, like this is a beautiful color, here's a harvest and mill,
- 13:58this is a beautiful color, it's absolutely outstanding, so a lot of these things are
- 14:02getting better.
- 14:03There's another brand called Namari, they use a hemp-based fabric, about 90%, and then
- 14:09they use a better form of the stretchy stuff, the spandex, about 9% now, so it's a much
- 14:16better option, and they use more skin-friendly dyeing process, now it's, again, it's not
- 14:21going to be plant-based dyes, but they're using much better dyes to hit that market, so
- 14:27they're product, let's say it's 90% better for your body than the equivalent spandex that
- 14:33you're buying out there from Nike or Lululemon, so there are companies that are now and
- 14:38guess what, they're less expensive, so they're way more expensive to make, but they're charging
- 14:43less to win the market because they're not out to get rich and they're not spending millions
- 14:48and millions of dollars on advertising on TV to brainwash you into thinking this is what
- 14:54you need to have to look nice, because you don't, the Namari, they're beautiful, this is what
- 14:59my wife has switched over to, this is what my daughter has switched over to, I wish I could get
- 15:04them to use medicinal plant-based cotton, I wish, but that's what I'm moving towards, like most
- 15:09of my genes are regenerative cotton, organic cotton, or the dyes in these genes, probably toxic,
- 15:16or petroleum-based, yeah, they are and I'm still wearing them, you ever sit down on your genes
- 15:22and notice or go to a restaurant or a place of community and you'll see little blue
- 15:27but marks on chairs where people keep sitting, those dyes that are coming off, they're petroleum-based
- 15:32dyes and they are toxic, so it's not a perfect world, but it's a world that's getting better because
- 15:37there's company like like like harvest and mill, like isame that are using, this is actually
- 15:43an unbleached regenerative organic cotton that isame uses and then medicinal plant-based dyes
- 15:48that actually support your skin health because some of these herbs have known skin health benefits
- 15:53kind of like indigo and you can use that in lots of different variations of blue, this this
- 15:58brand here too, a harvest and mill and they just sent me this, I don't getting anything for this,
- 16:03but this is organic cotton clothing and it's plant-based dyes, non-toxic fabric, honest label,
- 16:09healthy farming, carbon neutral, this is awesome, this is a great product and as far as sheets go,
- 16:15yeah, there's editude, I have some of the editude sheets but they're likely using petroleum-based dyes
- 16:20in their fabrics, now someone like isame, they're using certified organic cotton, got certified,
- 16:26the cotton itself and the dyes they're using are medicinal plants, so this is unbleached here,
- 16:31but they used, they use medicinal plants in their sheets, whoops, I will shoot that over,
- 16:37they actually use medicinal plants in the dyeing of their sheets, these are traditional Japanese
- 16:41techniques that they use and what's really cool about them is that the waste of this, you can turn
- 16:48into skincare, so they've actually turned, they've won awards for this, they turn the waste
- 16:52from their dyeing and they've tested it to be clean and no toxins and they've turned into
- 16:57skincare, so they won awards from that, you can literally drink the dye and get health benefits
- 17:02from the dyes that they're using in the sheets, so is there a movement happening?
- 17:05There absolutely is, now let's get back to a little bit more about what else we do that makes
- 17:11that sick with our clothing and what causes skin problems, what can cause contact dermatitis,
- 17:16if you're using traditional laundry detergent, detergent to wash your clothes, especially if you're
- 17:21using downy, they have brighteners which are chemicals, they have fragrances which are chemicals,
- 17:25some of the most notorious chemicals on the planet for nerdy generation and brain inflammation,
- 17:31very carcinogenic, hormon dysrupter, a lot of them, these trade secrets have phallates and other
- 17:36chemicals locked in to the fragrances, but then you're wearing that, especially the fragrances
- 17:42because they can cause skin irritation as well and these brighteners and other petroleum-based
- 17:46chemicals, so you're wearing a toxic fabric with dyes that have penetrated into that fabric,
- 17:52whether it's plastic or organic cotton and you're putting these on your skin and then you're
- 17:56washing them with chemicals that can cause skin reactions that can attack your skin microbiome,
- 18:02which is what you really need to be healthy is a healthy skin microbiome, you don't need more creams,
- 18:07you need to create a healthy skin microbiome, and so it gets to be kind of an insanity when we think
- 18:13we can wear chemicals, wash it in chemicals and wear it and still be healthy, we're a sick nation,
- 18:19so what should we do? As consumers, how do we shop? So if I were you, I'd be asking this question,
- 18:25what do I do? Well, I've given you some answers throughout the show and what to look for. I
- 18:29give you some brands, there's even more out there, I know some other t-shirt companies that do
- 18:34traditional dying with indigo, with medicinal plants that use regenerative cotton,
- 18:40isomade with being one of them, harvest mill is a great company as well, we discussed even
- 18:45better types of sheets like editude, isomade, even having the next level, level, highest level
- 18:50of sheets, so there's some of those answers, but in general, what do you want to look for?
- 18:53If you're looking for bamboo, you want to be liso, clean bamboo, not rayon, not viscoose,
- 18:59if you're with cotton, look for products that are certified organic cotton, that means they can't
- 19:06use these really nasty plant dies, but even better get unbleached certified organic cotton that is
- 19:12dyed with plant-based materials, typically all plant-based, just medicinal plants, not just plant-based,
- 19:19they have some plant-based and some petroleum-based, but 100% non-toxic plant-based dies,
- 19:25that's what you're really looking for, so that's your best case scenario, worst case,
- 19:29you can go with the mainstream brands like PACT for your t-shirts, they're still pretty high-quality,
- 19:36non-toxic, non-toxic dies, but not as good as a plant-based die, they're still petroleum-based,
- 19:43they're not 100% non-toxic, but these are some of these bigger companies that you can utilize,
- 19:48I like certified organic cotton got certified underwear from NADS, I think that's a great product,
- 19:55right? Is their dies 100% perfect? No, but they're got certified, so they're not dyed with harsh
- 20:01chemicals, so there are a lot better choice, and they fit nice, and they feel nice, and I think
- 20:06that's important too, so you have to have this balance, name Marie isn't perfect, but it's 90,
- 20:12I'd say even 95% better than the traditional spandex and tight pants and athletic pants that
- 20:18we're wearing and clothing, and so there is that trade-off, and if your body is able to get a
- 20:23break, it's not, you're not wearing plastic that's been dyed in toxins, and then you wash it in
- 20:29toxins, and you're walking around in toxins, and you're sleeping in a bed of toxins at night,
- 20:34breathing these microplastics and chemicals that are coming from your sheet, they're affecting your
- 20:38skin, you're going to be in an unhealthy place, if you do the best you can with some of the better
- 20:43brands that are out there, and again, I've named some of the best brands on this show, it can really
- 20:48give your body that chance to catch up, to get healthy, and it's important to start removing the
- 20:53sources of toxins in your life, because if the inflow is greater than the outflow, that's when
- 21:00problems happen, that's when your bucket overflows, your cells get overwhelmed with these
- 21:05amount of toxins, there's more coming in than your liver and kidneys and natural biochemical
- 21:09processes can handle, and they start storing in your tissues and organs, and that's when hormone
- 21:14disruption happens, and a lot of these problems happen, so if you're not getting symptoms, you're like,
- 21:18I feel fine, one I would challenge you what fine feels like today, your levels of energy,
- 21:23how much coffee you're drinking, so when you feel fine, you're functioning, but you may not be
- 21:28optimized, and when this ease happens, it's typically too late because you get overwhelmed
- 21:34over time with these levels of toxins, and the literature is very clear what toxins can do to your
- 21:39body, it can trigger autoimmune conditions, it definitely causes accelerated aging, it can cause
- 21:44mitochondrial dysfunction, hormone dysfunction, it's directly linked to the big C, it affects
- 21:50your microbiome, which is a big deal, we talked about the skin microbiome, but it also affects your
- 21:55gut microbiome, which is literally the fingerprint of your health, healthy, diverse microbiome,
- 21:59healthy person, a fingerprint of a individual who has diabetes, has a certain missing certain
- 22:05bacteria, a lot of these things can be linked, and toxins affect not only your microbiome,
- 22:11but they affect the health of these bugs that really make up who you are, so toxins and your
- 22:17microbiology do not get along, we talked about with the skin, with these tech styles, especially
- 22:22your sheets, but when you're ingesting through breathing these toxins, whether they're off-gassing
- 22:26from that new foam couch that you bought, or even your new t-shirt, so make sure you wash your
- 22:32new clothes no matter what it is, so let's do a recap on what we learned today, we know that cotton
- 22:37can be up to 20% other chemicals in weight by the time it gets on your shirt because of the
- 22:42binders, fillers, and coatings that can be on it, we learned that organic cotton,
- 22:46even organic, if it's not got certified, or OCO tech certified fabrics, they can have chemicals
- 22:53on them that can still get into your skin, they can be dipped up to 20 even 30 times in chemicals,
- 22:59they can absorb in your skin, your skin is like a mouth, so whatever you put on your skin goes
- 23:03into your body, it absorbs, you hear it of transdermal, well this is transdermal, that's why I
- 23:08love Isomage sheets because it has healthy medicinal plants that when they touch and soak into your
- 23:15skin when some of those natural chemicals get into side of you, these things that work with
- 23:19your biology, what you've evolved with, you get an uplift in healing, a lower, I could say,
- 23:25it supports your skin health, you know, if you want to learn more some of these real details,
- 23:30you'd have to join the community where I can speak more freely about the benefits of some of
- 23:34these herbs and even wearing the types of textiles that you'd want to wear, and I'll go on a
- 23:39little aside here is there is studies done on frequency as well when you talk about polyester,
- 23:44so before I go there and I really want to give you that truth bomb as a bonus at the end of the show,
- 23:49let's ask this question is based on what we just said on organic fabrics and even a regular
- 23:55cotton fabrics, what is better is it's still better than a polyester say pair of underwear,
- 24:00well the answer is a resounding yes, and there's been some studies done on this that give us some
- 24:05insights into how toxic these polyester fabrics are, and we're not even talking about the chemicals
- 24:10that are used to make them the plastics and the micro plastics, we're talking about just the
- 24:15skin contact and how it doesn't work with a biology, and there was a study done with underwear
- 24:19using polyester slings on 14 healthy males, and they found that after four and a half months,
- 24:25all these men had zero sperm count, zero flatlined, and they wore this polyester sling, it was like a
- 24:31bikini if you will, their male appendage was showing, but it was wrapped around their boys,
- 24:35and after four and a half months they went spermless, their swimmer count went zero, that's pretty
- 24:41crazy right, and they say it right in the study that it's a very effective male contraceptive,
- 24:46this is kind of crazy that this can actually happen, but it did, and why did they think that
- 24:51what did the researchers say as to the reasons why this was the case, and it was for two big reasons,
- 24:56the first reason is when you, your, your boys, they need certain temperature regulation to produce
- 25:02sperm, so that makes sense, that's why male testicles hang outside and they need to be in the right
- 25:08temperature to produce and act like they're supposed to act and produce sperm, so when you wrap
- 25:13them up tightly in a plastic bag that can't breathe, it's like wrapping them in the plastic bag
- 25:17that changes, that changes in temperature, work against your production of sperm, and number two,
- 25:22and I find this most interesting, and I think we can apply this even deeper, is that when you rub
- 25:28your skin and your, and your boys, in this case, against polyester fabricate, create
- 25:33electrostatic charge, kind of like static electricity, and what they found in that study is that
- 25:38affected sperm and sperm count, and one of the main reasons that they believe, and there's others,
- 25:43but one of the main reasons is that that electrostatic charge isn't natural, and it's actually working
- 25:48against our biology, and it creates oxidative stress on those sensitive tissues. Scary part is they
- 25:53actually measured the male testicle size, and they actually shrunk during that time as well,
- 25:58because of this oxidative stress from the polyester fabric, and then they duplicated this study,
- 26:04where a different study was done on male and female dogs, and they found the same thing,
- 26:08that they could make both the male and female dogs infertile by putting on polyester underwear
- 26:13onto these dogs, from the rubbing of the fabric, and the heat that it produced. It worked on both
- 26:19male and female in this instance, so that's really scary, and what's interesting is, and why I would
- 26:24say polyester fabric, or just regular cotton, is better than polyester fabric, is for that reason,
- 26:31because on the female and male dog study, they did a polyester cotton blend, and they didn't
- 26:36get that negative effect, as they did with straight polyester underwear on these dogs. And so my
- 26:43supposition, and what I would like to communicate to you guys, is if you're wearing polyester clothing,
- 26:49you're still creating that static, right? You're still creating that charge that isn't in alignment
- 26:54with your biology, like if you go outside and ground, that is healing energy. If you get outside
- 26:59in the ions, the things that we've evolved with nature, force bathing, there's tons of research
- 27:03on this stuff, guys, nature heals, but these bad frequencies, electric frequencies that come from
- 27:08our homes, and magnetic fields that can come off of rotating motors, and electric cars, and our
- 27:14iPhone, and our watches, and all these devices, these are frequencies that work against our biology,
- 27:20that cause oxidative stress, and blue light causes oxidative stress, these LEDs, the flicker of it,
- 27:26causes stress, so the things that are outside of nature actually cause our biology to have oxidative
- 27:32stress, which we have to deal with, and we're dealing with too much of it, and our clothing,
- 27:36you can make the argument that this electrostatic fields, these plastic pants that are kind of like
- 27:42underwear, and these lulu lemon type brands, and Nike's, they're so form fitting, they're
- 27:47literally wrapping you in this plastic-like fabric, and it's rubbing on you, creating an electrostatic
- 27:54field, so that's what's crazy, so that's why I'd say, even if you, for whatever reason, you can't
- 27:58find yourself, and if you could really bring your wardrobe down, I bet you could afford just
- 28:03an organic got certified, get like three shirts, t-shirts, and different clothing, and really
- 28:08simplify, I guess that's kind of hard, because sheen and all these other big companies really
- 28:12promote different looks, and you want to look a certain way, so that gets into a whole
- 28:15another psychology of marketing, but you really could simplify and afford it, but say you can't,
- 28:19and you want to buy, you still want to have lots of different options, regular old cotton is going
- 28:24to be better, I think, than polyester, big time, just based on that study, just because of the
- 28:30electrostatic, and it's probably going to have a little bit of a lower toxicity level as well, so
- 28:35that's how I really wanted to end this, so here's the bonus I wanted to talk about, and why I believe,
- 28:40based on what we just talked about, that there's the frequency of this, or the static of this,
- 28:47the energy that it's putting off, wearing polyester fabric can cause negative effects, and there's
- 28:52some people that believe, and there's a strong belief in that, that these plastic fabrics have
- 28:57no life, no, no frequency, no energy that aligns with your body, and there's a lot of anecdotal
- 29:02evidence, things like linen, and these other fabrics, they have a frequency that's healing
- 29:08to your biology, that they can actually give life, and these other things that are from chemicals
- 29:13do not have that frequency and do not have that life, so it's a little more woo-woo,
- 29:18but for me personally, I believe that, the further you get away from nature, the more tough
- 29:22your life's going to be, it's going to cause oxidative stress, it's going to cause harm to your
- 29:26body, the closer you are to nature, what we've evolved with our biology, the healthier you're going
- 29:30to be, the herbs, all the things that we talk about, I don't know about you, but I really had my
- 29:35eyes opened when I learned a lot about how dirty the textile industry is, it is a dirty industry,
- 29:41it is driven by money in the chemical industry, and so I hope this helps you make better choices,
- 29:47and drive that industry into healthier fabrics. I know that name Marie, the company that we
- 29:52just talked to, they're trying to get used natural rubber, and other ways, instead of using
- 29:58some of the spandex, even the biodegradable and healthy types of spandex and their products,
- 30:04they're really trying to create fabric that they can share with the world and share with other
- 30:09brands and make a massive difference. So I really love what they're doing because so many people,
- 30:15including my daughter, want to wear those lululemon type clothing, that athletic clothing, and they're
- 30:20disrupting that industry. So I'm really proud of companies that are doing that, and it's you guys
- 30:25making those decisions, supporting these companies that do it better, NADS, name Marie, NADS,
- 30:32name Marie, isome, some of the other brands that we mentioned, this is how we make a difference
- 30:38together. And if you want to learn more about some of the strategies that I use to get my health
- 30:42and life back to restore my energy for the weight loss that I've experienced, I was 210 pounds,
- 30:47all the things I did because I was so toxic. I'd love to share that with you, and I can do that
- 30:51more safely. I'm inside the non-toxic living community. I'll drop a link for that below as well
- 30:56with a discount, and you can also go to nontoxicliving.com. Guys, thank you so much for being part of this
- 31:02episode. Share it with your friends. The dirty textile industry needs the change, and it's going to
- 31:07be changed by us making a difference and sharing this information with others. Again, thanks for
- 31:12being on the show today. We'll see you on the next episode.
