- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:09Speaker 2: KFI AM six forty Bill Handle Here it is a
- 0:13Speaker 2: Wednesday morning, January fourteenth. Some of the stories we are
- 0:16Speaker 2: looking at in the world of Donald Trump and the administration.
- 0:21Speaker 2: A hearing expected today in a lawsuit filed by Minnesota
- 0:25Speaker 2: and the Twin Cities challenging the administration's immigration enforcement operation,
- 0:31Speaker 2: saying it's a federal invasion bill.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And Hillary Clinton refused to testify on Capitol Hill.
- 0:37Speaker 2: And this is the House Oversights Committee in the Jeffrey
- 0:40Speaker 2: Epstein probe, and Bill Clinton said, you're dreaming.
- 0:43Speaker 1: And so they're talking.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Mike Johnson is talking about a contempt of Congress where
- 0:48Speaker 2: they're going to throw Bill Clinton in jail. Give me
- 0:50Speaker 2: a break. And then I love this one. There's a
- 0:53Speaker 2: new bill introduced giving California has more power to challenge
- 0:57Speaker 2: federal officers in state court. Senate Bill seven forty seven,
- 1:02Speaker 2: titled the No Kings Act. Have you noticed the names
- 1:05Speaker 2: of bills that are introduced have changed a little bit?
- 1:10Speaker 2: The big beautiful bill, the No Kings Act. Today, I
- 1:15Speaker 2: think Democrats are introducing the No Dicks Act Act.
- 1:22Speaker 1: It's just we've reached another level, haven't we.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Okay, there is a clash going on between the City
- 1:30Speaker 2: of Los Angeles and the State of California, and it
- 1:33Speaker 2: has to do with zone zero wildfire regulations.
- 1:37Speaker 1: What is zone zero.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It's an area that's five feet around the house in
- 1:44Speaker 2: terms of vegetation, in terms of combustible wooden products, you know,
- 1:49Speaker 2: teak chairs, that sort of thing. And LA is moving
- 1:55Speaker 2: towards a more lenient approach, which is kind of surprising.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And this is in light of studies that are done
- 2:04Speaker 2: that homes that were of cleared vegetation were more likely
- 2:08Speaker 2: to survive wildfires. Now, once the state passes its law,
- 2:12Speaker 2: of course the city those laws disappear.
- 2:16Speaker 1: But the state isn't doing much.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You know, it had a self imposed deadline of January first,
- 2:24Speaker 2: twenty twenty three to create new laws. Well here we
- 2:30Speaker 2: go three years later, not nothing yet. So marathon discussions
- 2:37Speaker 2: go on about these rules. What do residents do in
- 2:41Speaker 2: these hazard zones? What do they have to do from
- 2:44Speaker 2: the first five feet zone zero to make them ember resistant.
- 2:49Speaker 2: The city council says, We're going to do our own virsion.
- 2:52Speaker 2: That's going to be a far more lenient. If you ever,
- 2:54Speaker 2: listen to Dean Sharp, and Dean talks about fire resistant homes,
- 2:58Speaker 2: to make your house a little bit more fire resistant,
- 3:01Speaker 2: And I paid attention to that. And that is the
- 3:04Speaker 2: louvers where you know, up in your in the attic,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know, where you keep paintings and some of your
- 3:13Speaker 2: more priceless objects. No, I'm sorry, that's that's the loof.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I got it, but spelled the same way I might add.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And so those stop the embers from flying in, and
- 3:26Speaker 2: embers half these hot embers actually cause a huge percentage
- 3:31Speaker 2: of fires. Now, if you're talking about fire that goes
- 3:36Speaker 2: right up to the house, even radiant heat, the house
- 3:40Speaker 2: is going to explode in flames. Now, Critics of Zone zero,
- 3:45Speaker 2: this five foot zone, are worried about the financial burden,
- 3:49Speaker 2: the labor required to comply the impact to urban ecosystems.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And while fire safety advoc could say, come on, guys,
- 4:00Speaker 2: give me a break. If you're gonna prevent homes from
- 4:04Speaker 2: exploding in flames or basically catching on fire, you gotta
- 4:09Speaker 2: do everything you can. And a big one is the
- 4:11Speaker 2: vegetation around the home. And you my, the Persian palace
- 4:17Speaker 2: had eucalyptus, still does eucalyptus trees right next to the house.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Eucalyptus trees when a fire comes down the pike, are
- 4:29Speaker 2: basically tiki torches. It is incredible how quickly and how
- 4:34Speaker 2: powerfully they explode into flames.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So here I am in my new house.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's all cacti, cactuses, cactusennas, and I don't have much
- 4:46Speaker 2: that's around my house. And of course I did do
- 4:50Speaker 2: the loovers around the house, so I'm trying as hard
- 4:53Speaker 2: as I can. There is there was a an overhang
- 4:58Speaker 2: that was made out of wood. I replaced it, so
- 5:00Speaker 2: I actually pay attention. Of course, my house is going
- 5:03Speaker 2: to explode when the next fire comes. And so this
- 5:08Speaker 2: zone zero, now here's what LA is doing. First of all,
- 5:14Speaker 2: San Diego and Berkeley they have regulations that match the
- 5:18Speaker 2: strictest options that the State Board of Forestry is considering.
- 5:22Speaker 2: LA not so much so. The zone zero regulations at
- 5:27Speaker 2: this point apply only to rural areas where the Department
- 5:31Speaker 2: of Forestry and Fire Protection response to fires, and urban
- 5:35Speaker 2: areas city areas that have a very high fire hazard.
- 5:40Speaker 2: This according to cal Fire, and that includes Silver Lake,
- 5:43Speaker 2: Echo Park, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, No surprise there. So the
- 5:51Speaker 2: requirement that we are looking at the state and that
- 5:56Speaker 2: is there'll be no wooden or combustible fences out built
- 6:00Speaker 2: things within the first five feet of a home at all,
- 6:03Speaker 2: and also required removing dead vegetation, twigs, leaves from the
- 6:08Speaker 2: ground around the house, roof gutters, and roofs themselves. You know,
- 6:14Speaker 2: it used to be that we had here. They were
- 6:17Speaker 2: shake roofs, wooden roofs.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Man, did they burn up?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Nothing like having a wooden roof When a fire comes down.
- 6:25Speaker 3: You want to start with the kindling on yah house. Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And you know what they did.
- 6:30Speaker 2: They passed a law about forty years ago saying that
- 6:34Speaker 2: all wood shingles have to be replaced either by tile,
- 6:38Speaker 2: asphalt concrete roofs. You know they have concrete that looks
- 6:42Speaker 2: like tiles. That's what I have at home. And it
- 6:45Speaker 2: took a long time because you can't force people to
- 6:47Speaker 2: replace their roofs. Roof flash roof. Yeah, a roof last
- 6:52Speaker 2: about thirty years, so when you replace, you have to
- 6:55Speaker 2: do it. Do you have a wooden roof at home? No,
- 6:58Speaker 2: but I did growing up. We have a composite I know, Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 2: of course you do. That's the law, you have to
- 7:03Speaker 2: do it now. But that's just one of the regulations.
- 7:07Speaker 2: So the zone zero and here's the last stat I'm
- 7:11Speaker 2: going to give you. A recent study looked at the
- 7:14Speaker 2: five major wildfires in California in the last decade, not
- 7:19Speaker 2: including the Eaton Palisades fire. Twenty percent of the homes
- 7:24Speaker 2: with significant significant vegetation in zone zero survive only twenty percent.
- 7:30Speaker 2: The ones that complied with zone zero regulations were about
- 7:35Speaker 2: twice as much in terms of survivability.
- 7:39Speaker 1: That tells you something. Zone zero.
- 7:44Speaker 2: It's like patient zero, right, you walk into a zone
- 7:49Speaker 2: zero and you get HIV. That's not true at all
- 7:54Speaker 2: all right Now, cardboard, actually I think does get recycled.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Plastic does not. It is a myth, It is a dream.
- 8:08Speaker 2: New report just came out by the state's waste agency
- 8:13Speaker 2: shows that plastic yogurt containers, shampoo bottles, restaurant takeout trays
- 8:18Speaker 2: being recycled in the single digits. How about polyprolene polypropylene
- 8:28Speaker 2: gets recycled. Now, the good news is colored shampoo bottles
- 8:32Speaker 2: and detergent bottles, they're all the way up to five percent.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Plastic bags, they just don't. It's a waste of time.
- 8:43Speaker 2: They should just say, just put cardboard in there and
- 8:47Speaker 2: then give you little small plastic trash cans because the
- 8:51Speaker 2: rest of it is just a waste of time. And
- 8:54Speaker 2: we're you know, the problem is is that our society,
- 8:58Speaker 2: the amount of garbage that we generate, I mean, Neil
- 9:01Speaker 2: and I have talked about to the food that we
- 9:04Speaker 2: throw away could feed half the world. But in terms
- 9:07Speaker 2: of the plastic recyclables. So let me give you a
- 9:09Speaker 2: little bit of history. And I've done this before. It's
- 9:11Speaker 2: my lunch box story that I have not done in years.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And this was before goes back aways. When I was
- 9:19Speaker 2: in grade school, This was before plastic bags were even around.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Zip block didn't exist, None of those bags even happened.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And so when I went to school, and my dad
- 9:33Speaker 2: is the one who packed my lunch, well, the other
- 9:37Speaker 2: kids had sandwiches with a crust cut out white bread
- 9:42Speaker 2: and covered in wax paper, not plastic. And my dad,
- 9:48Speaker 2: we were just recent immigrants from Brazil and easy Eastern European,
- 9:52Speaker 2: so my father had a whole different view of life.
- 9:55Speaker 2: And he was a union electrician, so he would take
- 9:57Speaker 2: his lunch in the workmen's lunch you know, the ones
- 10:01Speaker 2: were made of metal and they have that arch that
- 10:05Speaker 2: curve part of the top and you would put a
- 10:07Speaker 2: thermos bottle in there on the top.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And that's what I used to take to school.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Everybody else had Batman, Superman, Davy Crockett lunch boxes. I
- 10:19Speaker 2: had the workman's lunchbox. So the kids had, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 2: they were there sandwiches and they do used to exchange sandwiches.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Let me tell you what my dad did for me.
- 10:28Speaker 1: This is the lunch back box story. Uh.
- 10:31Speaker 2: My dad would pack my lunch with The sandwich was
- 10:36Speaker 2: two pieces of rye bread with one piece of bologney
- 10:42Speaker 2: between the two, because boloney was the cheapest meat you
- 10:45Speaker 2: could get, and it was summer May June hotter than hell.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I would open up my lunch box and there was
- 10:55Speaker 2: the bologney that had stuck to the side of the
- 11:00Speaker 2: punch box and I peeled it off, put it between
- 11:05Speaker 2: the two pieces of dry rye bread and then I
- 11:11Speaker 2: would eat it. And no one, I mean no one
- 11:14Speaker 2: would exchange sandwiches with me. Let me tell you, sixty
- 11:19Speaker 2: years later, I'm still in therapy over just that issue.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Bullies would give you their milk money.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, Yeah, it was very very rough.
- 11:32Speaker 2: But the point I'm making it was sandwiches were wrapped
- 11:35Speaker 2: in wax paper, which I don't think can be recycled today,
- 11:40Speaker 2: can it? But knowing who the hell uses wax paper?
- 11:43Speaker 2: And Neil, you the wax paper is used in cooking,
- 11:45Speaker 2: isn't it for? And you're doing something these.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Wax paper and many different things, candy making, all kinds
- 11:50Speaker 4: of stuff. Okay, I will tell you My belief is
- 11:55Speaker 4: until we have home units to recycle certain things for
- 12:00Speaker 4: daily use, it won't be recycled.
- 12:04Speaker 3: And I use a lot.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Of different plastics and three D printing and manufacturing at
- 12:10Speaker 4: my home shop, and you have to learn to recycle
- 12:14Speaker 4: them yourselves because no one else is going to do it.
- 12:16Speaker 4: There's just no money in it, so you have to
- 12:18Speaker 4: do it yourself to save money is the best way
- 12:20Speaker 4: to do it. Well, I think we'll have little recycling
- 12:24Speaker 4: centers at our own home.
- 12:25Speaker 2: We're a long way away. You know the Pacific garbage
- 12:30Speaker 2: dump if you will. It's a size of Texas and
- 12:33Speaker 2: it floats out there in the Pacific and it's all
- 12:35Speaker 2: garbage and it swirls around. And if you look at
- 12:38Speaker 2: landfill's plastic does not decompose and now the supermarkets now
- 12:45Speaker 2: if first of all, no plastic bags anymore in California.
- 12:47Speaker 2: It's all paper bags which can be recycled. And have
- 12:51Speaker 2: you gone shopping for produce with those bags? They now
- 12:55Speaker 2: have a composable or compostable bags that are so flimsy,
- 13:02Speaker 2: are so disgusting. The other day, I went and bought
- 13:06Speaker 2: some oranges. As I dropped the oranges into the bag,
- 13:12Speaker 2: the orange, the bag basically became a funnel and so
- 13:16Speaker 2: in goes the orange, Out goes the orange at the
- 13:19Speaker 2: bottom of the bag. And I'm going, great, that's what
- 13:21Speaker 2: I want. You know, that's just terrific. All right, We're done. Hey,
- 13:27Speaker 2: we're all putting together. The Morning Crew put together a
- 13:30Speaker 2: GoFundMe page for Kno's car exploded, the engine exploding. He
- 13:36Speaker 2: drives seventy two miles each way to get to the
- 13:39Speaker 2: station and his car went completely put and so we
- 13:43Speaker 2: put together this go fund campaign to help him buy
- 13:47Speaker 2: a car. And so it's well, I know he works
- 13:51Speaker 2: here at iHeart. What does that mean a huge amount
- 13:54Speaker 2: of money? Right, and he has to get a new
- 13:57Speaker 2: car and we're helping him. This is just us on
- 13:59Speaker 2: the Morning Crew. It is not KFI. It is not iHeart.
- 14:02Speaker 2: We're doing it ourselves, and so the only way to
- 14:05Speaker 2: do it, because we don't want other people using our
- 14:08Speaker 2: name or Kno's name. Go to kf I A M
- 14:11Speaker 2: six forty dot com slash KNO k O n k
- 14:15Speaker 2: O n O. That's kf I A M six forty
- 14:18Speaker 2: dot com slash KNO and.
- 14:22Speaker 1: We can help hopefully.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Cono, get a car, Gonna buy a good piece
- 14:26Speaker 2: of it. Okay, Uh, yeah, Cono, you can suck up.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You sick a fantic son of a guy.
- 14:31Speaker 1: And oh Bill, thank you, thank you so much, exactly
- 14:35Speaker 1: what I know, thank you, Yes, yes, okay. Ice free zones.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Now, there is a little bit of issue in Chicago, Portland,
- 14:44Speaker 2: LA with ice agents.
- 14:47Speaker 1: As you know.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Uh, they're pretty aggressive about hiring people, about picking up people,
- 14:53Speaker 2: and uh they're hiring tons more that government is. And uh,
- 14:57Speaker 2: the bottom line is a lot of people are being
- 14:59Speaker 2: arrested and harassed and a lot of people are frightened.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Now.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Christin Ohm, who is our head of homeland security, keeps
- 15:08Speaker 2: on saying that all those arrests are only the worst
- 15:11Speaker 2: of the worst.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, look at the video, give me a break. The
- 15:16Speaker 1: worst of the worst.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So what's happening is you have cities and in this case,
- 15:21Speaker 2: La County voted unanimously yesterday to bar immigration enforcement from
- 15:26Speaker 2: county owned spaces. Lindsay Horvath, Supervisor District three, announced this
- 15:33Speaker 2: motion to establish these enforcement free zones. And since June six, Man,
- 15:42Speaker 2: the ICE agents really came down.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I mean, they descended on our region.
- 15:49Speaker 2: They were rating businesses, they were detaining people by the dozen,
- 15:56Speaker 2: going to the home depots, the low's and picking up
- 16:00Speaker 2: these guys who Hispanic, glad you know. And now a
- 16:02Speaker 2: lot of them were illegal, There's no question about it.
- 16:06Speaker 1: But you know, the level of this.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I think most of us are in favor of immigration
- 16:12Speaker 2: reform and some control of our border. Very few people
- 16:16Speaker 2: say our border should be open, open, arms come on down.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Very few of us say that. But the level at
- 16:23Speaker 2: which the administration is handling this, there isn't a lot
- 16:27Speaker 2: of humanity involved in this. The administration thinks all of
- 16:32Speaker 2: these people are criminals. And this came to a head
- 16:37Speaker 2: a couple of days ago last week actually in the
- 16:40Speaker 2: fatal shooting and Minnesota of Rene Good. And how could
- 16:46Speaker 2: you have missed the video if you watch the news
- 16:48Speaker 2: at all or pay attention to what's going on. She
- 16:52Speaker 2: was in a car, in a suv and was stopped
- 16:55Speaker 2: by Ice agents and she was pulling away, so the
- 17:01Speaker 2: video seems to show, and she was shot by the
- 17:05Speaker 2: ICE agent. And there's a little bit of controversy. Was
- 17:08Speaker 2: she actually going for the Ice agent, which the administration
- 17:12Speaker 2: is saying and he shot her in self defense. Was
- 17:15Speaker 2: she moving away from the Ice agent after one of
- 17:18Speaker 2: them tried to grab the handle of the door of
- 17:22Speaker 2: the car. We really don't know, now, you know one
- 17:25Speaker 2: of the things, and you think they were trained to do.
- 17:28Speaker 1: If a car is rolling towards you, don't you just
- 17:32Speaker 1: move out of the way.
- 17:33Speaker 2: The car was not moving very fast, wouldn't you just
- 17:38Speaker 2: move out of the way. I mean it was the
- 17:41Speaker 2: car glanced off this guy and was moving away as
- 17:44Speaker 2: far as folks who are on one side of the coin. Now,
- 17:50Speaker 2: the administration is saying, oh no, the car was going
- 17:53Speaker 2: straight for this agent who then turned around and shot
- 17:56Speaker 2: her a bunch of times through the windshield. To the uh,
- 18:01Speaker 2: it's gotten, it's it's in an uproar.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Right now.
- 18:04Speaker 4: You get to ignore law enforcement giving you a direct command.
- 18:09Speaker 2: H I think you know what I do? Did did
- 18:13Speaker 2: the law enforcement. Did they say you got to get
- 18:14Speaker 2: out of the car? I don't know what they said, Yes,
- 18:17Speaker 2: so you've got to leave, and yeah you okay, I
- 18:20Speaker 2: I think you can't ignore. I certainly wouldn't. But at
- 18:23Speaker 2: the same time, if you're pulling away, if she was
- 18:26Speaker 2: pulling away and not aiming for the ice agent again,
- 18:30Speaker 2: just moving out of the way, and you chase them.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I mean, I can't imagine a LAPD officer doing that.
- 18:36Speaker 2: And I also can't imagine LAPD or sheriffs or any
- 18:41Speaker 2: other agency saying she was a domestic terrorist, she was
- 18:45Speaker 2: part of professional agitation?
- 18:49Speaker 4: Is you know what's interesting about that whole thing to
- 18:54Speaker 4: begin with, is you have Tim Waltz actually putting in
- 18:59Speaker 4: a law saying in his state that you can shoot
- 19:05Speaker 4: someone a law enforcement can shoot someone in a car
- 19:10Speaker 4: that's coming towards them, even if they have a distance
- 19:14Speaker 4: between them and the car, and you.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Can move out of the way. Yes, okay. I find
- 19:19Speaker 2: that he's kind of insane.
- 19:21Speaker 4: Walt signed that police Reform bill which said that officers
- 19:27Speaker 4: don't need to wait until impact from a vehicle.
- 19:32Speaker 3: They can shoot.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, but if there's a distance to move
- 19:35Speaker 2: out of the way, there's a huge distance there needs
- 19:37Speaker 2: to be hit.
- 19:38Speaker 1: So they can be forty feet away. Listen to this.
- 19:41Speaker 1: They can be.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Forty feet away all the time in the world to move,
- 19:46Speaker 2: but they.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Can shoot shooting a moving vehicle if it's being used
- 19:50Speaker 4: as a deadly weapon.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Okay, let's say that's you can how far hit them?
- 19:54Speaker 1: How far?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Fifty feet, one hundred feet, I don't know if you're
- 19:59Speaker 2: a marketable hundred feet okay.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Where As the bullet, I just love how it's a
- 20:04Speaker 4: it's a you know, it's a deadly weapon when it's
- 20:07Speaker 4: used by a guy in a U haul, and then
- 20:09Speaker 4: all of a sudden when.
- 20:10Speaker 3: It's used towards law enforcement.
- 20:12Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, but you see the guy in the
- 20:14Speaker 2: U haul was aiming for he was plowing into a group.
- 20:18Speaker 2: The argument with this this woman Good, Nicole Good, is
- 20:22Speaker 2: she was pulling away from the officer that is going.
- 20:25Speaker 3: To be the orders for her to leave the car.
- 20:28Speaker 1: It's not arguing that, so I'm not arguing that.
- 20:31Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is this, assuming that she even
- 20:35Speaker 2: ignored a lawful order to get out of the car. Uh,
- 20:38Speaker 2: the circumstances beyond that, for example, high speed chases are
- 20:42Speaker 2: no longer allowed because they're just too dangerous.
- 20:45Speaker 1: There is uh So.
- 20:47Speaker 2: The siren goes on behind and the cock goes moving
- 20:50Speaker 2: over and move over.
- 20:51Speaker 1: All right, all right, Neil, we got another topic. Okay,
- 20:56Speaker 1: you and I will yell at this. Uh Now, the
- 21:01Speaker 1: Kennedy Center, as you know, is no longer the Kennedy Center.
- 21:04Speaker 1: It is Donald J. Trump Kennedy Center.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Donald Trump fired everybody the entire board, named himself the
- 21:11Speaker 2: chair and renamed the building. And he said it was
- 21:14Speaker 2: falling apart, and it may very well have been. I
- 21:16Speaker 2: have no idea, but you know his name is on there.
- 21:20Speaker 2: The Institute for Peace is now the Donald Trump Institute
- 21:24Speaker 2: for Peace. There's a new class of warship, which is
- 21:30Speaker 2: the Trump Class of Warship. The Trump Gold Card is there.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Don't forget Trump accounts, Trump r X. There's a proposed
- 21:40Speaker 2: coin coin, semi Quincentennial Coin, and that's celebrating two hundred
- 21:47Speaker 2: fifty years of America.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Why not the America. By the way, Trump his picture America.
- 21:53Speaker 2: The beautiful National Parks Pass has Trump's picture on it.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I mean, this goes on and on, but let me
- 21:59Speaker 2: point something out, and that is there are a lot
- 22:03Speaker 2: of buildings named after presidents and items and documents.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I mean, look at all of our currency.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Has a picture of dead presidents on there, and we
- 22:17Speaker 2: even have a state or a city.
- 22:18Speaker 1: There's a Washington, d c.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And there's a state of Washington named after George Washington.
- 22:24Speaker 1: After he died. Because that seems to.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Be the way it has gone in the United States.
- 22:32Speaker 2: So there's a list here of what was named after
- 22:36Speaker 2: presidents and how long it was between the presidencies and
- 22:41Speaker 2: naming buildings. Right now, there's going to be a mad rush.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Wait till the last week of Trump's ten year as president.
- 22:48Speaker 2: How many in addition to the pardons that are going
- 22:50Speaker 2: to go across the board like crazy. All presidents do that,
- 22:53Speaker 2: by the way, But how many buildings and items are
- 22:56Speaker 2: going to be named? Okay, so the years between presidents
- 23:00Speaker 2: and naming buildings. The Truman Building forty seven years, Carter Hall,
- 23:05Speaker 2: the Naval Academy Jimmy Carter was a member of he
- 23:09Speaker 2: went to Annapolis. The Eisenhower Executive Office Building thirty eight
- 23:13Speaker 2: years afterwards, the Johnson Education Building thirty eight years after
- 23:18Speaker 2: the presidency, the Bush Courthouse nineteen years afterwards, the Ford
- 23:23Speaker 2: House Office Building, thirteen years now. The quickest one, the
- 23:29Speaker 2: quickest naming of various buildings or locations was after John F.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Kennedy when he was assassinated. The Kennedy Federal Building less
- 23:40Speaker 2: than a year, Kennedy Space Center less than a year.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Cape Kennedy, which has gone back to Cape Canaveral and
- 23:47Speaker 2: the Kennedy Space Center there. And the reason they went
- 23:49Speaker 2: back to Cape Canaveral because it's been known as Cape
- 23:52Speaker 2: Pernavial for four hundred years and they thought, Okay, we'll keep.
- 23:55Speaker 1: The old name. Why not?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Now, how many presidents have things named after him after
- 24:00Speaker 2: them during their tenure zero?
- 24:05Speaker 1: And so what we should do is have.
- 24:07Speaker 2: A football pool, right, we should put money into the pool,
- 24:10Speaker 2: all of us here, and then we guess what is
- 24:15Speaker 2: going to be named next after the president. Look what's
- 24:20Speaker 2: happening in the White House, the West wing, the East
- 24:23Speaker 2: wing destroyed, rebuilt, and the residence in the east wing.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Can you imagine what the residence is for him and Milania?
- 24:34Speaker 2: You ever seen pictures of Trump Tower and his two floors?
- 24:39Speaker 2: A little baroke, don't you think?
- 24:41Speaker 1: How about the Oval Office right now?
- 24:44Speaker 2: A little bit baroke? Don't you think? Guild Gold gilt,
- 24:48Speaker 2: gold gilt, everything. I mean this, you know, why not?
- 24:52Speaker 2: You know, all things named for Trump? And this is
- 24:55Speaker 2: just the start. We're gonna see a lot of Trump
- 24:59Speaker 2: stuff going on, and believe me. And then the question
- 25:01Speaker 2: is will the next president, especially a Democratic president, remove
- 25:07Speaker 2: the name. I doubt it's gonna stay Donald D. A.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Trump Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. I don't think
- 25:14Speaker 2: it's gonna stay that way. I don't know, I don't know.
