- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I know.
- 0:11Speaker 3: I once paid fifteen hundred dollars to have real snow
- 0:16Speaker 3: put in my front yard for Christmas Eve for my
- 0:18Speaker 3: nephews and nieces.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Very cool. Wow, that is cool.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Now I once spend fifty high dollars on snow, but
- 0:25Speaker 2: not quite the same snow as you're describing.
- 0:29Speaker 1: During law school. Totally matter of fact. We went out
- 0:33Speaker 1: in the front yard. I put down a mirror, took
- 0:35Speaker 1: my razor blade and cut it up.
- 0:36Speaker 2: All right, and now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Here's Bill Handle. If you good morning everybody.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Oh right, it's a Friday. It's a foody Friday. Yes, Candela,
- 0:50Speaker 2: anything Friday, which is always great fun. And Neil, we
- 0:54Speaker 2: have enough phone calls for today?
- 0:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, because.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Sometimes we don't or they repeat a lot, so that's
- 1:03Speaker 2: what happens. Okay, let me say someone's not muting hello.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Let me say a quick hello to Amy. Good morning Amy.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Well, good morning Bill.
- 1:12Speaker 1: There you are.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Oh no Disneyland attire today.
- 1:17Speaker 5: No disney today. Well, I'm saving it up for all
- 1:20Speaker 5: of next week.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Oh, because next week you're on vacation.
- 1:24Speaker 4: No, because we're just getting closer to Christmas.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Oh, and you do the you know, one year I
- 1:29Speaker 2: did that Christmas thing I was invited to where they
- 1:32Speaker 2: do the candlelight and everybody does their thing Christmas Eve,
- 1:36Speaker 2: which is kind of neat. I don't know if they
- 1:38Speaker 2: still do.
- 1:39Speaker 4: That candle light service at church.
- 1:42Speaker 5: I know disneylh Yeah, the candlelight is at Disneyland is spectacular.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Yeah, really interesting stuff. All right, Neil, good morning, good morning,
- 1:51Speaker 2: will it wol There you are and also here I
- 1:55Speaker 2: sure am, good morning, there you are, and yeah day.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Happy ding today Official Dingling Day. It is so when
- 2:04Speaker 1: you reach out to something you haven't talked to it
- 2:06Speaker 1: a long time. Okay day. I didn't create it. It's
- 2:12Speaker 1: just a national I'm gonna call Kono right now. Yeah,
- 2:16Speaker 1: as you should.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, now I was going to say something, but
- 2:20Speaker 2: it's too early in the morning for that. You're going
- 2:23Speaker 2: to get completely never wind. We got it, Okay. Neil
- 2:27Speaker 2: and I today start something really interesting. And this is
- 2:30Speaker 2: for Zelman's and we you know, Zelman's and Neil and
- 2:34Speaker 2: I you know, we are hand in hand, face to face,
- 2:38Speaker 2: cheek to cheek. So something unusual is happening today. We'll
- 2:41Speaker 2: be talking about it more throughout the morning. Zelman's just
- 2:44Speaker 2: having a flash sale. It's just a KFI flash sale,
- 2:49Speaker 2: stocking up for the holidays, and it's twenty twenty five
- 2:53Speaker 2: percent off the entire site. I mean, anything you buy
- 2:56Speaker 2: is twenty five percent off. And we're going to be
- 2:59Speaker 2: also talking about using Zelmens as stocking stuffers, which are
- 3:05Speaker 2: perfect for stocking stuffers now starting a couple of years ago,
- 3:09Speaker 2: I had no idea. You know, what do I know
- 3:11Speaker 2: from stocking stuffers. We were never in my family, so
- 3:14Speaker 2: obviously I got involved with Lindsay's family and they do
- 3:18Speaker 2: the Christmas tree and the stocking stuffers. And what I found,
- 3:22Speaker 2: what I tried a couple of years ago, is putting
- 3:24Speaker 2: a Matza ball in those stockings. I don't, I don't.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I don't recommend that. I really moisture a lot of moisture.
- 3:31Speaker 2: It's just not consider.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yourself a Jew born anew now, oh gets right, a
- 3:37Speaker 1: born again Jew.
- 3:38Speaker 2: No, you're a Jew born a new Jew. As a Jew,
- 3:43Speaker 2: a Jew, you a Christian? Well, I'm making her more
- 3:47Speaker 2: of a Christian than.
- 3:50Speaker 1: You're going to be broke by next year.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Let me tell you something, as a matter of fact,
- 3:54Speaker 2: the rest of us. As a matter of fact, when
- 3:56Speaker 2: we first got together, Uh, she offered a convert and
- 4:00Speaker 2: you got all the books and everything together jerking. No,
- 4:03Speaker 2: she was not. She was not joking, let me tell you.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And I said, what are you doing? She goes, well,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I'd like to convert. I go, no, you don't. You
- 4:12Speaker 2: will not, And she goes, why not, because I've already
- 4:15Speaker 2: been married to a Jewish woman. I've done that once,
- 4:17Speaker 2: so I'm not doing that again.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Excuse me?
- 4:21Speaker 2: So no, I am not converting, Thank you very much.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Monster balls in the stockings? Okay, Uh, what else is
- 4:30Speaker 2: going on? Let me see, let me see.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We had a couple of.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Good Are you guys gonna bust out the Dreidel? Are
- 4:37Speaker 3: you going to do any jewishness? Uh?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The jewishness is the gifts that I give. That's the
- 4:46Speaker 2: Jewish part.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I see you go around and and take thirty percent
- 4:52Speaker 3: of the stocking stuffers.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I do you're going to light I have two menors.
- 4:58Speaker 4: You're not gonna light them?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, of course we have.
- 5:00Speaker 2: That's the Jewish part. Yeah, it is a Jewish part.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And then Michelle gave me a minora. You know, they
- 5:05Speaker 2: have the eight candles. And she gave me a model
- 5:10Speaker 2: of a Tyrannosaurus Rex with the little candle holders along
- 5:17Speaker 2: the back of the Tyrannosaurus wreck. So we call it
- 5:21Speaker 2: our Minorasaurus rex and we put we put it up.
- 5:25Speaker 2: A matter of fact, we reput it up again. That
- 5:27Speaker 2: put up the minora Saurus rex. That was Michelle Cube
- 5:31Speaker 2: who gave me that.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I heard Trump got very excited when he heard about
- 5:35Speaker 3: lighting the minorities.
- 5:36Speaker 1: And then someone had to say, mister president.
- 5:39Speaker 2: That's very strong. By the way, Neil, that's that's that's good. No,
- 5:43Speaker 2: that's good, that's good.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Don't get offended. Cono. It didn't really go, but I
- 5:50Speaker 1: thought it went. Of course, anything about Trump.
- 5:53Speaker 3: I was going to use John Coebelt, and then I
- 5:55Speaker 3: thought Trump might you know I saw through it.
- 5:58Speaker 1: It was my you're right.
- 6:00Speaker 2: All right, guys, we got some great news. By the way,
- 6:04Speaker 2: I give Trump the credit when I think credit is due.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You know, for example, grabbing that oil tanker, I think
- 6:10Speaker 2: it was one percent appropriate. And the other six that
- 6:14Speaker 2: are out there, I think the US should grab those too,
- 6:18Speaker 2: And I'm sure that's going to be up for discussion
- 6:22Speaker 2: over the next few days. But first it's time for
- 6:25Speaker 2: Handle on the News with Amy neil Me lead story.
- 6:29Speaker 1: We get out.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Okay, so here's the Trump story not so good. Do
- 6:35Speaker 2: you remember when President Trump ran for office the first
- 6:38Speaker 2: time out, he said that the Republicans have a health plan.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Within weeks, we're going to have it. We'll have it
- 6:45Speaker 2: on the table. And then here we are, what fifteen
- 6:48Speaker 2: sixteen years later, no, twelve years later, and there is
- 6:52Speaker 2: no health plan. Of course, the Democrats have a health plan,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and that's simply the extension of the subsidies of Obamacare.
- 6:58Speaker 1: That's their health plan.
- 7:00Speaker 2: We have a health plan, good bad, It may not
- 7:03Speaker 2: be wonderful, but we want to extend those subsidies. The
- 7:06Speaker 2: Republicans are fighting at tooth and nail. That was the
- 7:08Speaker 2: issue of the shutdown, by the way, those subsidies that
- 7:12Speaker 2: the Republicans are fighting. So now the President says we
- 7:16Speaker 2: can work together on healthcare. Well, it can't work together
- 7:21Speaker 2: because the Republicans are dead set against those subsidies. The
- 7:24Speaker 2: Democrats are dead set in favor of extending those subsidies.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And the problem is is that.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Republicans talk about how horrible Obamacare is, how horrible, so
- 7:33Speaker 2: and they say we're going to come up with an alternative.
- 7:36Speaker 2: They never have. It's all lip service. They've never come
- 7:40Speaker 2: up with any kind of alternative. So we're going to
- 7:44Speaker 2: see that going on. And by the way, do you
- 7:48Speaker 2: remember the last time the President said Republicans and Democrats
- 7:51Speaker 2: can work together on anything?
- 7:53Speaker 1: No, it sounded weird. Actually didn't thought it was ai.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Uh yeah, yeah. Oh, and healthcare premiums January December thirty first,
- 8:03Speaker 2: it's going to explode Americans, twenty million of them, twenty
- 8:08Speaker 2: five million of them. Well, we just can't afford healthcare.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They'll they'll be out of the out of the level
- 8:14Speaker 2: of being able to pay for healthcare, double triple, quadruple
- 8:19Speaker 2: in certain cases.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I think the bill was called suck it up and
- 8:22Speaker 3: get a job. They were trying to pass out.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Oh no, they have plenty. No, these are people who
- 8:26Speaker 2: have good jobs. The problem is, Yeah, the problem is
- 8:31Speaker 2: a healthcare I know you're smart ass, but I want
- 8:33Speaker 2: to point that out because there are plenty of people
- 8:36Speaker 2: that don't work.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Our insurance is broken.
- 8:38Speaker 2: It's completely broken. The system is completely broken. I'm not
- 8:41Speaker 2: arguing that. All I'm saying is that they're based on
- 8:44Speaker 2: the system we have today. Obamacare kicked in twenty something
- 8:47Speaker 2: million people that have insurance medical insurance, and it has
- 8:51Speaker 2: certain levels and does it'll make a lot of sense
- 8:53Speaker 2: to a lot of people.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It doesn't.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I believe in a single payer. That's it, you know
- 8:59Speaker 2: the HM. I go to Kaiser and just here's my
- 9:03Speaker 2: monthly copey and I'm done. But we'll never get there
- 9:08Speaker 2: because that's socialized, communist medicine except for people over sixty five.
- 9:13Speaker 1: That's interesting.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I would like to know all the legislators who are
- 9:17Speaker 2: over sixty five. How can they accept medicare and scream
- 9:20Speaker 2: about socialism for people that aren't covered by medical.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Well, insurance is socialism and it's.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yes, it is to some extent, but that's everybody. But
- 9:32Speaker 2: that's true, but that's everybody paying. You have a good point.
- 9:34Speaker 2: It spreads the risk what single payer spreads the risk
- 9:38Speaker 2: across the entire United States? Absolutely, that's absolutely true. Okay,
- 9:42Speaker 2: moving on.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I don't smoke, drink, vaccine, or chew or hang out
- 9:47Speaker 3: with women that do. The FDA now looking for very
- 9:52Speaker 3: serious warnings on COVID vaccines. So the US Food and
- 9:56Speaker 3: Drug Administration tends to put a black what they for
- 10:00Speaker 3: to his black box warning on COVID nineteen vaccines. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 3: this is the same stuff, by the way, that goes
- 10:09Speaker 3: on opioids.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I know there's no evidence for this. I mean there's
- 10:14Speaker 2: when you talk about Yeah, there's none. I mean, it's
- 10:20Speaker 2: just crazy. Anything has to do with vaccines is bad.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Anything has to do with vaccines is evil.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It should be illegal living.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But yeah, you you wait, by the time the Trump
- 10:32Speaker 2: administration ends, and I said this, Robert Kennedy is going
- 10:37Speaker 2: to do everything he can uh to kill vaccinations in
- 10:41Speaker 2: this country because they are evil, because they kill people,
- 10:46Speaker 2: because they are horrific. There's there's now a measles outbreak.
- 10:50Speaker 2: It's coming, it's here. There's now hundreds of people who
- 10:52Speaker 2: have measles. It was eradicated. It was eradicated.
- 10:56Speaker 4: I don't think there's a measles outbreak right now.
- 10:58Speaker 2: There certainly is heard on the news several hundred people
- 11:03Speaker 2: now have U now have measles, and they say it's
- 11:06Speaker 2: they think it's coming out of one church. And of
- 11:08Speaker 2: course nobody was vaccinated. The kids weren't vaccinated. You can yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 2: I don't know if that's I think so, But it's
- 11:16Speaker 2: gotten worse. There are now several hundred cases. You can
- 11:19Speaker 2: look that up. By the way. The other thing that
- 11:21Speaker 2: the FAA doesn't want to do, Neil, is you to
- 11:24Speaker 2: take Amy stories.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Burn Burn.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Oh you're up again, Neil. You want to steal my namy.
- 11:38Speaker 2: No.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I want you to know, we've.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Got to go back to We've got to go back
- 11:41Speaker 3: to mistake when the Mexican does it.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I stole it. That's correct.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Okay, that is correct. And you had better. You had
- 11:50Speaker 2: better have parked my car in the right place. I'm
- 11:52Speaker 2: telling you, Okay, moving on.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I always do, sir, all right.
- 11:57Speaker 3: The Charlie Kirk accused shoot Tyler Robinson is popped up
- 12:02Speaker 3: in the Utah court room for the first time in person,
- 12:08Speaker 3: and this was yesterday. Attorneys argued, obviously how much access
- 12:13Speaker 3: the media can have in the criminal case. These things
- 12:16Speaker 3: obviously go nationwide and beyond. And that's always the question
- 12:20Speaker 3: on these things is how much access are we going.
- 12:23Speaker 1: To get media wise?
- 12:24Speaker 3: But he was very calm, hands were handcuffed in front
- 12:29Speaker 3: of him, a blue button up shirt, pink tie.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Nice.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Okay, Now, why is that? I think about this for
- 12:35Speaker 2: a moment. Usually when someone in custody appears in court
- 12:39Speaker 2: in front of the judge. Only they have the prison
- 12:43Speaker 2: outfits on. They are shackled. And why do you think
- 12:47Speaker 2: he had a coat and tie on, or at least
- 12:49Speaker 2: a tie and a long sleeved shirt and you couldn't
- 12:52Speaker 2: see the handcuffs. They made absolutely sure the cameras didn't
- 12:55Speaker 2: see the handcuffs. I'll tell you exactly why as you go, really, Bill, Yes,
- 13:00Speaker 2: here is the reason this case has such enormous publicity,
- 13:05Speaker 2: such enormous adverse publicity to many many people. That the
- 13:10Speaker 2: fear is that first of all, the jury is going
- 13:13Speaker 2: to be tainted by him being in handcuffs and being
- 13:16Speaker 2: sewn shackled, and also limiting the amount of media in there.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Keep in mind that media is allowed in courtrooms. We
- 13:25Speaker 2: have open courtrooms in this country. That's the philosophy. We
- 13:29Speaker 2: have open court which is why anybody can get in
- 13:32Speaker 2: line to see any case under any circumstances, except when
- 13:36Speaker 2: you have exitgen circumstances, for example, adverse publicity like in
- 13:40Speaker 2: this case, and the reason for a change of venue,
- 13:44Speaker 2: that sort of thing. Thought I would throw that out
- 13:46Speaker 2: at you. I don't know if that helped, but well
- 13:49Speaker 2: there you are, well, thank.
- 13:50Speaker 1: You for that.
- 13:51Speaker 2: This is when Neil actually gives me some kudos. Oh
- 13:53Speaker 2: you finally.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I know you're an incredibly smart man, and that's silly
- 13:58Speaker 3: and I respect the hell out of you.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Anybody said otherwise, I don't kiss your Yeah, I understaid. Okay, Amy,
- 14:04Speaker 2: you actually have a story to do, and Neil.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Wants to steal it.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Of course. Yes, put up your hands.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Kilmar Abrego Garcia is out and he's going to stay out.
- 14:16Speaker 4: So a judge release ordered.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Him to be released from detention yesterday. He was released
- 14:22Speaker 5: last night. Then this morning the judge also issued a
- 14:26Speaker 5: temporary restraining order so immigration agents can't pick him up again.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Abrego Garcia is the guy from El Salvador who was
- 14:36Speaker 5: living in Maryland. Remember, he got caught up in that
- 14:40Speaker 5: immigration sweep and was deported to the Seacott Megaprison in
- 14:45Speaker 5: El Salvador, and then he was brought back to the
- 14:48Speaker 5: US and then he was arrested on human trafficking charges
- 14:52Speaker 5: and then he was released, and then he was detained
- 14:54Speaker 5: and now he's out again.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah, back and forth, and the government says he is
- 14:59Speaker 2: an MS thirteen member.
- 15:01Speaker 1: He denies that, and also.
- 15:04Speaker 2: The the trafficking of human beings.
- 15:08Speaker 1: He's denying that.
- 15:09Speaker 2: But man, he bound this was a ping pong ball
- 15:11Speaker 2: where he went back and forth and back and forth.
- 15:14Speaker 2: What really got the court pissed off because there was
- 15:17Speaker 2: a stop the detention and they went forward with it. Anyway, Oh,
- 15:23Speaker 2: bless you. How much of that sneeze did you catch?
- 15:25Speaker 5: Oh?
- 15:26Speaker 1: I got a little on my lip.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Okay, Well, you don't want to do is look at
- 15:29Speaker 2: my microphone sock. I'll tell you that right now, or like.
- 15:32Speaker 1: A microphone sponge.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Well, you know, he doesn't get good publicity by the
- 15:37Speaker 3: fact that kill is actually.
- 15:38Speaker 1: In his name. It's a little rough when you're trying
- 15:41Speaker 1: to be innocent.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Anyways, Trump trying to take away some of the sovereignty
- 15:48Speaker 3: of the states. He says he signed an executive order
- 15:53Speaker 3: and basically what he wants is to block states from
- 15:55Speaker 3: enforcing their own specific AI regulations. He says that he
- 16:00Speaker 3: wants to have one central source of approval coming out
- 16:04Speaker 3: of the Oval Office there yesterday.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a point.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I mean, if you have fifty states, each of one
- 16:10Speaker 2: having different regulations.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Richard Murrow talked about this, and.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Even the we have had with these companies, we have
- 16:18Speaker 3: that with all kinds of things.
- 16:20Speaker 2: That's true, but it's faster.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You bet you.
- 16:23Speaker 2: AI is very different because everybody is going to use
- 16:27Speaker 2: and does use AI, every business, every individual. AI is
- 16:31Speaker 2: so all pervasive that I think you have to have
- 16:35Speaker 2: national laws.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Oh, I would agree.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I agree with the President of the I agree with
- 16:40Speaker 2: the president on this one.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Oh on, get him off the floor, Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Plug him up or else.
- 16:50Speaker 5: LA Counties filed an environmental lawsuit against oil and gas
- 16:53Speaker 5: well operators. The goal of the lawsuit is to get
- 16:57Speaker 5: them to address what lawyers call dangers to human health
- 17:01Speaker 5: and environment caused by unplugged, idle, and exhausted oil and
- 17:04Speaker 5: gas wells in the Inglewood oil field.
- 17:08Speaker 4: UH.
- 17:08Speaker 5: The pseudo ledges that the oil companies failed to properly
- 17:12Speaker 5: decommission and plug the old oil and gas wells, causing
- 17:17Speaker 5: toxic pollutants to leak leak into the air, the water,
- 17:21Speaker 5: and the land.
- 17:23Speaker 3: UH.
- 17:23Speaker 5: One of the companies has responded saying that lawsuit was
- 17:26Speaker 5: filed without justification and its allegations contradict years of scientific
- 17:31Speaker 5: work done by the state and county Well.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and one of the attorneys for one of these
- 17:36Speaker 2: companies pointed out that the County of Public Health just
- 17:40Speaker 2: conducted a health assessment. An environmental justice study said, no,
- 17:45Speaker 2: no evidence of any pollution or any leakatrom the oil
- 17:49Speaker 2: these oil wells.
- 17:50Speaker 4: So but then why are they? Why are they because.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Because environmentalists tend to be nuts, That's why. Because there
- 17:58Speaker 2: is a streak of uh nuttiosity going through the environmental
- 18:02Speaker 2: uh movement.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but isn't oil natural?
- 18:08Speaker 2: Uh?
- 18:09Speaker 1: In that state? They're just digging in that.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but it is natural. But what ends up happening
- 18:15Speaker 2: when you cap these wells? First of a lot of
- 18:18Speaker 2: natural gas comes out of these wells and the environment.
- 18:22Speaker 1: That's part of the environment. So is botulism. So I think,
- 18:28Speaker 1: really exactly.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Batulism is caused by uh in oil wells between natural things.
- 18:36Speaker 2: That's no, everything, every every process is somehow natural. And
- 18:41Speaker 2: what they do invent uh new molecules. Hey, I think
- 18:45Speaker 2: science has the ability to do that. But yes, it's
- 18:47Speaker 2: all natural. They invented COVID they certainly no kidding, no kidding,
- 18:54Speaker 2: it's so civic cats. Uh, it's that Kentucky fried bat
- 18:59Speaker 2: that's right next to that in Okay.
- 19:03Speaker 3: All right, so bass is looking for money. Don't touch
- 19:07Speaker 3: the homeless money. But she needs four hundred I mean
- 19:12Speaker 3: four point four million, rather to hire more LAPD.
- 19:17Speaker 4: That's just a drop in the bucket for the homeless money.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, no, homeless money. It sings billions in the billions,
- 19:23Speaker 1: yeah yeah, no.
- 19:24Speaker 3: But she needs this to hire another four hundred and
- 19:28Speaker 3: change cops officers because we are in a deficit when
- 19:32Speaker 3: it comes to law enforcement here.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, what's go ahead. No, she was already sett
- 19:38Speaker 2: in terms of numbers. She was set for two forty
- 19:41Speaker 2: and she wants to make it to four hundred.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Yeah, so that was the original two hundred and forty
- 19:45Speaker 3: officers were authorized earlier in the year. But you know,
- 19:48Speaker 3: because public safety and all that stuff, So she's looking
- 19:52Speaker 3: for this four point four million. Otherwise, the hiring stops
- 19:56Speaker 3: in January. So by a gun, third.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Strike and you're out. Maybe maybe not.
- 20:05Speaker 5: A federal grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia has declined to
- 20:11Speaker 5: indict Letitia James, New York's Attorney General.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Again.
- 20:16Speaker 5: This is the third time grand jury has declined to indict.
- 20:20Speaker 5: They refused to charge James in connection with making false
- 20:24Speaker 5: claims on a mortgage application that the Trump administration has
- 20:29Speaker 5: been pushing for.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Well, technically speaking, it's twice. The grand jury has said no.
- 20:33Speaker 2: The first time there was an indictment, and that was
- 20:36Speaker 2: by Lindsay Halligan, who was the acting US Attorney in Virginia,
- 20:42Speaker 2: who had been put there by President Trump. After the
- 20:46Speaker 2: actual acting Attorney General turned down the case against Letitia
- 20:51Speaker 2: James because he said there isn't enough evidence here.
- 20:53Speaker 1: He was tossed.
- 20:55Speaker 2: So they brought in this gal, Lancey Halligan, who has
- 20:57Speaker 2: never prosecuted a case once in her life. She's never
- 21:00Speaker 2: prosecuted a traffic ticket, and she got an indictment. It
- 21:06Speaker 2: was close. And then that indictment was thrown out for
- 21:09Speaker 2: technical reasons and the judge rule that that indictment had
- 21:13Speaker 2: to fail. So now they try twice more to get
- 21:16Speaker 2: a grand jury to indict, and the grand jury says nope, nope.
- 21:21Speaker 1: They could keep on.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Going every week until the grand jury is done. Grand juries.
- 21:26Speaker 2: I don't know if the eighteen months or a year
- 21:29Speaker 2: in Virginia, but you can do it as often. I
- 21:34Speaker 2: wonder if they're gonna do it a third time, a
- 21:35Speaker 2: fourth time, a fifth time.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Who the hell knows. If you can't beat them, join them.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Disney is in it to win it with a big
- 21:45Speaker 3: deal one billion dollars. As a matter of fact, between
- 21:47Speaker 3: Disney and Open Ai. They announced this yesterday and there's
- 21:51Speaker 3: you know, still more details that are going to come
- 21:53Speaker 3: out on this, but really what it is is they're
- 21:56Speaker 3: going to license certain characters, whether it's Marvel or Pixar,
- 22:01Speaker 3: Star Wars, all these ips in intellectual properties that they own.
- 22:08Speaker 3: That means costumes, props, vehicles, environs, all these things.
- 22:13Speaker 1: To be used in AI.
- 22:16Speaker 3: So instead of you know, battling every time somebody uses AI,
- 22:21Speaker 3: they're looking at this going, hey, we're going we want
- 22:23Speaker 3: to partner and find ways to do this that is
- 22:30Speaker 3: more controlling but allows people that use AI to create
- 22:34Speaker 3: vignettes or small little videos or things like that to
- 22:37Speaker 3: use some of the characters.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Assumes comes at a cost.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, well this first of all, it's only
- 22:42Speaker 2: open AI that company. Yeah, and and Disney is paying
- 22:47Speaker 2: a billion dollars.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah, so this that that puts them in the AI
- 22:52Speaker 3: game in a different way big time.
- 22:55Speaker 5: I'm looking forward to seeing the AI things that are
- 22:57Speaker 5: going to pop up in the parks then, like photos
- 23:01Speaker 5: and like you can make little videos at the park.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yourself, You'll be able to create your own whole
- 23:07Speaker 2: New World.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and it'll be small, Amy, cratch yourself a whole new world.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Get it? Yeah?
- 23:16Speaker 4: Did you get it? Bill?
- 23:17Speaker 2: I did? Ok And then I added and it's small.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but you say this because you get it. Did
- 23:24Speaker 1: you get it?
- 23:25Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 23:25Speaker 4: I got it?
- 23:26Speaker 2: Okay, Grid, we should do that for the rest of
- 23:28Speaker 2: the show.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Did you get it?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Did you get it?
- 23:30Speaker 1: Oh? I didn't get it?
- 23:31Speaker 5: I mean now, Okay, watch out for who's walking around.
- 23:37Speaker 5: LAPD's been doing a sting operation in Woodland Hills and
- 23:41Speaker 5: people are apparently not very happy about it. So they've
- 23:44Speaker 5: got people who appear to be playing clothes officers crossing
- 23:49Speaker 5: the street, and they're crossing outside of a marked crosswalk,
- 23:53Speaker 5: and the drivers who aren't stopping for them as is
- 23:58Speaker 5: required by law, are then getting pulled over by the
- 24:01Speaker 5: motorcycle cops who were kind of hidden away on a
- 24:03Speaker 5: side street.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Who stops for Well, let me put it this way.
- 24:07Speaker 2: You have a pedestrian, this is at a crosswalk, okay,
- 24:10Speaker 2: and the light is green, and the pedestrian has the
- 24:14Speaker 2: right of way. Getting a scenario which happens to me
- 24:17Speaker 2: all the time at a crosswalk. So the pedestrian is
- 24:20Speaker 2: walking across and after hitting the median part the middle
- 24:26Speaker 2: of the street. Then you pull to the right if
- 24:29Speaker 2: you're making a right turn while the person is in
- 24:31Speaker 2: the crosswalk at the far end.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Do you do that?
- 24:35Speaker 2: I do that constantly. I do not wait until the
- 24:37Speaker 2: person hits the curb on the other end. Does anybody wait? No,
- 24:41Speaker 2: I don't think that's against it. That's against the law.
- 24:44Speaker 2: You could just for that one where they are though, right,
- 24:46Speaker 2: like you, Yeah, it's more I mean, it's more fun
- 24:49Speaker 2: when they're, you know, the curb closest to you. Can
- 24:51Speaker 2: you have a good chance of hitting them and having
- 24:52Speaker 2: them dodge the car.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it. That's more entertaining. I've seen the
- 24:56Speaker 1: video though.
- 24:57Speaker 3: It's funny that you've got this cup on a cup
- 25:01Speaker 3: sitting there and then these guys walking across the street
- 25:04Speaker 3: and the second someone passes, he's like what.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, and away from I know, it's kind
- 25:11Speaker 2: of crazy. If there's something behind you. Pedestrians should not
- 25:17Speaker 2: have the right away. They should not mulm down.
- 25:21Speaker 1: The five pound vehicle should okay? Uh.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Indiana GOP rejects Trump's map. You know this is there
- 25:32Speaker 3: is some pushback, at least we see it on occasion
- 25:36Speaker 3: when it comes to Trump and this is all that
- 25:38Speaker 3: jerrymanderin garbage. So a lot of pressure from President Trump,
- 25:45Speaker 3: and they kind of ignored that.
- 25:47Speaker 2: They said no, they said no, get you get on
- 25:50Speaker 2: the wrong end of Trump. You're in a lot of
- 25:51Speaker 2: trouble if you are a Republican and he's made a real,
- 25:57Speaker 2: real plane he does all the time. If you was
- 25:59Speaker 2: a Republican voting against me, you're in a lot of trouble.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Although that threat, I think is getting less and less viable.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I kind of feel that way too.
- 26:09Speaker 3: I don't know why, but I feel like there has
- 26:11Speaker 3: been some pushback in.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I'll tell you why, because some of the promises that
- 26:15Speaker 2: were made are not being kept. And the big, big
- 26:18Speaker 2: one where I think the President is losing a lot
- 26:21Speaker 2: of his ammunition and his oomph and his gravitas has
- 26:25Speaker 2: to do with the economy. It's right there, it's real
- 26:28Speaker 2: with our no no, but this one is a big one.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I mean, he won based on the Biden economy and inflation,
- 26:36Speaker 2: which was legit as far as running, and now he
- 26:40Speaker 2: is running.
- 26:41Speaker 1: He is running the country.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Based on the fact that prices are down and you
- 26:46Speaker 2: are in great shape. For those of you that look
- 26:49Speaker 2: around and go, wow, things have gotten expensive as we
- 26:52Speaker 2: talk over the last couple of years or last year,
- 26:55Speaker 2: how prices have gotten expensive. That's a hoax. And let
- 27:01Speaker 2: me tell you that's wearing thin. That's why I think
- 27:04Speaker 2: that's where he's losing his political momentum.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Hard to call it a hoax when it's coming out
- 27:11Speaker 1: of our wallet.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it's a hard I read that argument is thinning.
- 27:18Speaker 2: And the longer the president is away from the election,
- 27:22Speaker 2: the harder he is going to be able to blame
- 27:25Speaker 2: Biden for anything negative. So yeah, that's why I think
- 27:31Speaker 2: he is losing a lot of his momentum.
- 27:34Speaker 5: USC may be playing in a shiny new stadium temporarily,
- 27:38Speaker 5: the Trojans may have to play some of their twenty
- 27:41Speaker 5: twenty eight home games at Sofi Stadium instead of their
- 27:47Speaker 5: normal venue because of the Olympics. So the Olympics only
- 27:51Speaker 5: and a couple of weeks before the season starts, and
- 27:54Speaker 5: for the Olympics at La Memorial Coliseum. They had to
- 27:58Speaker 5: spend like one hundred billion dollar dollars to revamp some things.
- 28:01Speaker 1: One hundred million. One hundred million?
- 28:03Speaker 4: Oh did I say billion? You did well?
- 28:06Speaker 5: You spent a lot of money Anyway, they spent like
- 28:08Speaker 5: one hundred million dollars to put a temporary track in
- 28:12Speaker 5: for the track and field events. They're going to have
- 28:14Speaker 5: to take all that out and they are worried that
- 28:16Speaker 5: they won't get it done in time.
- 28:18Speaker 2: So how do you put in a temporary track and
- 28:21Speaker 2: spend one hundred million dollars doing it? Doesn't that seem insane?
- 28:28Speaker 5: They had to install track eleven feet above the field
- 28:32Speaker 5: that stretches over the first few rows of the stadium
- 28:36Speaker 5: seating because it's not fine, it's not big enough.
- 28:38Speaker 2: All right, one hundred million dollars. The entire Colisseum cost
- 28:43Speaker 2: eighty cents to build, much less one hundred million dollars now,
- 28:47Speaker 2: all right, So anyway, SOFI stadium, which means that and
- 28:52Speaker 2: gets to see some gay as some Olympic games.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Well US game.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Oh no, is it going to be that section that
- 28:58Speaker 2: you work in or they get They probably won't have
- 29:00Speaker 2: that because that's a field level And yeah, I'm not
- 29:02Speaker 2: sure what's gonna happen with that. Yeah, I don't think So, okay,
- 29:05Speaker 2: let's do another couple of stories.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Neil, Neil, Sorry, there is a new.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Protection against ultra violet A and b raise low levels
- 29:19Speaker 3: of absorption through the skin into the body, and it
- 29:23Speaker 3: is being accepted by the FDA as a new ingredient
- 29:27Speaker 3: inside inside sunscreen.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, protect your skin melanoma no.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Melono muh uh okay, bem o tries and all.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I think we have a last story.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Amy Elon Musk needs money.
- 29:50Speaker 5: SpaceX is looking to raise more than twenty five billion dollars.
- 29:53Speaker 5: They're going to do an IPO in twenty twenty six.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Good boost the rocket maker's valuation to over a trillion dollar.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Apparently, the move to go public.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Is largely driven by the rapid expansion of Starlink, you know,
- 30:08Speaker 5: the satellite internet business, and also plans for direct to
- 30:12Speaker 5: mobile service and progress on its Starship rocket program for
- 30:17Speaker 5: Moon and Mars missions.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, these are separate companies.
- 30:20Speaker 2: We're talking about SpaceX as a separate company, which it is.
- 30:24Speaker 2: It's this is not Tesla, This is not what a
- 30:28Speaker 2: lot of people think is John. This is probably the
- 30:30Speaker 2: best rocket company in the world. It has it does
- 30:33Speaker 2: eighty percent of the world's launches eighty percent, and has
- 30:38Speaker 2: created Starlink, which is the best communications system out there.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Starlink puts everybody on the planet in touch with cell
- 30:46Speaker 2: phone service.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I mean, this is good stuff. I just talked.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I was talking on money a guy yesterday and he
- 30:52Speaker 2: sent me an article about how this is this is
- 30:56Speaker 2: solid SpaceX. Don't buy a Tesla.
- 31:01Speaker 1: You're weird about that. Tesla's. Tesla's are gorgeous.
- 31:05Speaker 2: No, No, Tesla's aren't. Tesla's are a little tinny. Tesla's
- 31:09Speaker 2: are They're just not that well built. I just don't
- 31:12Speaker 2: think they're that well built.
- 31:14Speaker 3: My brother has a couple of them, and I will
- 31:16Speaker 3: tell you one of them is almost ten years old.
- 31:18Speaker 3: If it's no, they do last. And it's never been
- 31:21Speaker 3: in the shop. No, it doesn't go to electric motors
- 31:24Speaker 3: don't go in the shop. Well, it has been in
- 31:25Speaker 3: the shop. It gets new tires. It has to get
- 31:27Speaker 3: new tires. And well, they doesn't go to the shop.
- 31:29Speaker 3: They come to him.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Oh I okay, there, I feel better.
- 31:33Speaker 1: He never it never goes to the shop.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Seat, it's never had any It looks brand new to
- 31:37Speaker 3: this day. Well, but you can take care of a car.
- 31:40Speaker 3: There are cars that were built in the forties that
- 31:42Speaker 3: look brand new.
- 31:43Speaker 1: You had a.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Car that was in the shop constantly, very high end,
- 31:47Speaker 3: very expensive, and I had the same make different model,
- 31:52Speaker 3: a lower model, and it was never in the shop
- 31:55Speaker 3: because you don't know how to take care of gadgets.
- 32:00Speaker 3: The more the more complex the car is, the less
- 32:04Speaker 3: you know how to use it.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That's true. That's true.
- 32:08Speaker 2: I've had I've had Beamers now for twenty five years.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I've been driving BMW's and I still only know how
- 32:16Speaker 2: to use about five percent of the features.
- 32:19Speaker 3: You're being generous with your I am being generous by
- 32:22Speaker 3: try to start it all right, KF I am sixty.
