Last Thursday night, LA witnessed a stunning—but partially obscured—lunar eclipse that turned the moon into a haunting coppery red, like dried blood, as Earth’s shadow swallowed nearly all of it. Despite clouds forcing Griffith Observatory to cancel outdoor viewing and frustrating stargazers, crowds still gathered on rooftops, beaches, and overpasses, phones out and eyes wide, soaking in the eerie glow caused by sunlight filtering through our atmosphere. By 10:50 PM, the shadow retreated, and by midnight, the moon was fully restored. A rare spectacle—next time? 2029. Those fleeting moments…
