- 0:15Speaker 2: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:18Speaker 3: All eyes are on the weather forecast for travel plans,
- 0:22Speaker 3: especially coming back after the AFC Championship win.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Some weather coming in here.
- 0:27Speaker 3: You step down my line after the AFC Championship win.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Not handling the postseason.
- 0:32Speaker 3: He's got something going on with his stomach, and we
- 0:34Speaker 3: told him to get the hell out of here because
- 0:36Speaker 3: I can't get sick. Patriots still drove the field three times,
- 0:39Speaker 3: made three great plays to score touchdowns.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It's not like the Texans completely shut them down.
- 0:43Speaker 4: So that's really not correct Nationally with the conference title games.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I feel like that's kind of dialed back. Okay, I
- 0:50Speaker 2: don't know. I mean, do you feel that way, Jeral
- 0:52Speaker 2: We haven't been in it for so long, so I
- 0:54Speaker 2: don't know. It's been a long six flas good flex bro.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I want to get a billboard in buff a big
- 1:01Speaker 3: fare ass with a Patriot's logo on it, because that's
- 1:04Speaker 3: what the bills are going to be looking at for
- 1:05Speaker 3: the next ten years.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Are you serious about Adam cherry.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, I am.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yes. This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website
- 1:16Speaker 2: for deals by a Toyota dot Com. All right, welcome
- 1:22Speaker 2: to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday. Let's go, let's go.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Let's go to the AFC Championship.
- 1:29Speaker 3: That's where we're going, and we're going for one reason,
- 1:33Speaker 3: and that reason is to bring back the Lamar Hunt Trophy.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I'm so glad that you're finally with me.
- 1:40Speaker 6: You're really like, got that out of nowhere. We're just
- 1:43Speaker 6: sitting here quiet.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I didn't say it was going to be easy. I
- 1:46Speaker 3: didn't say it's gonna be easy, but we're doing it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: We're gonna bring home that.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I don't know if I'll be coming home at all
- 1:52Speaker 3: because it's snow, but that's another story. But yeah, it
- 1:56Speaker 3: is Alex, it is Paul, it is Thursday. To me,
- 2:00Speaker 3: it's Alex and Matt in the booth. Evan will be
- 2:03Speaker 3: he be by later.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Evan says he's going to try to like because we
- 2:06Speaker 4: have an extra press conference Conference Championship week, so Mike
- 2:09Speaker 4: Rable extra day, he's going to try to do some
- 2:11Speaker 4: of that. He says he's going to try to come
- 2:14Speaker 4: you know, pull a deuce and come back in deuce.
- 2:17Speaker 2: By the way, it continues to not handle Championship week.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Well, Deuce texted me today. Important message, he said, to
- 2:23Speaker 7: lead them, lead them.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I got that too, all of it good.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Good.
- 2:28Speaker 4: He told me he wasn't going to be able to
- 2:29Speaker 4: make it in and then in all caps lead them
- 2:32Speaker 4: at the end.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Same, So the Duce is still suffering from some kind
- 2:37Speaker 3: of stomach bug, but carry on.
- 2:41Speaker 4: He actually he told me he got in his car
- 2:44Speaker 4: and got about halfway here and there was just like,
- 2:46Speaker 4: I can't do this, and he went back.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, those things can be debilitating.
- 2:50Speaker 4: And no one wants him here if he's really in
- 2:52Speaker 4: all seriousness, if he's really feeling that badly, that's.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Right, Like affect your own house, right, don't infect ours?
- 2:58Speaker 6: Not even I think his wife has him in.
- 3:00Speaker 7: They have a little in law suit in the back
- 3:01Speaker 7: with its own entrance in bathroom.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I think he's quarantined.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Well let's get to it. Patriots of
- 3:11Speaker 3: course preparing to play the Denver Broncos local time three
- 3:16Speaker 3: Eastern time, three o'clock on Sunday, and we had our
- 3:22Speaker 3: second participation report yesterday. Does anyone want to fill me
- 3:26Speaker 3: in and what what?
- 3:27Speaker 2: What happened?
- 3:28Speaker 3: That was the first Oh, that's right, Today's Thursday.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So week is going slow.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Harold Landry and Mady Mapu did not participate in practice yesterday.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It's kind of been with Landry has been doing missing
- 3:43Speaker 4: some practice time. We clearly isn't he's not He isn't
- 3:47Speaker 4: one hundred percent healthy. The good news is Carlton Davis,
- 3:50Speaker 4: as Mike Rabel told us during his press garments, was
- 3:53Speaker 4: going to be limited as he continues to make his
- 3:55Speaker 4: way through the concussion protocol.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Hunter Henry and Morgan Mo's is rest veteran, rest veteran.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Rest Chevy and Henderson who kind of got banged up
- 4:06Speaker 4: with the shoulder game full participant, So that's a good
- 4:09Speaker 4: sign for him. Explain same thing, hands now, yeah, hand now,
- 4:14Speaker 4: thumbs up, bro, but also a full PARTICIPANTEA.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I thought he was gonna you know, I thought he
- 4:21Speaker 2: would react.
- 4:22Speaker 6: To that, but he's he's a serious guy. He's a
- 4:25Speaker 6: serious guy.
- 4:26Speaker 4: As he's telling us, he broke his thumb in the game,
- 4:28Speaker 4: which I thought was kind of odd, but yeah, so
- 4:33Speaker 4: kind of runs the gamut there for the Patriots, The
- 4:35Speaker 4: Broncos got some good news as well. Even though they're
- 4:38Speaker 4: without their quarterback, it looks like they're going to have
- 4:40Speaker 4: a chance to get some of these guys that Evan
- 4:42Speaker 4: was talking about yesterday. They'll have a chance to play
- 4:46Speaker 4: Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin, the two receivers. Bryant was
- 4:50Speaker 4: also limited with you know, concussion, Franklin with a hamstring,
- 4:54Speaker 4: and then JK. Dobbins was Listen, there's a limited participant
- 4:58Speaker 4: as they try to get him off of IR with
- 5:02Speaker 4: the foot injury that he's been out since early November
- 5:04Speaker 4: with and Luke Wattenberg their center also trying to come
- 5:07Speaker 4: off of IR. He was a full participant, so I
- 5:09Speaker 4: would expect him to be starting at center. So there's
- 5:13Speaker 4: a lot of injury stuff in this game to track,
- 5:16Speaker 4: and we'll get the next update later today.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Okay, all right, so you know, not terrible news. Would
- 5:23Speaker 3: be nice to have seen Matt Collins back out there,
- 5:25Speaker 3: so I I would have guessed that he's probably not
- 5:28Speaker 3: a candidate to play this Sunday.
- 5:31Speaker 2: That would be my guest too. I feel like, yeah, he.
- 5:35Speaker 6: Seemed to just really shut it down in the press
- 5:37Speaker 6: conference for the.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Week, and I would think that if he was going
- 5:40Speaker 4: to be able to get off of IR, he would
- 5:42Speaker 4: practice the full week.
- 5:43Speaker 2: But you know, we'll see what happens today. Maybe it'll
- 5:46Speaker 2: be different.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Okay, So what else we got and you know there's
- 5:52Speaker 3: a lot going on that I want to get into.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Uh yeah, we have all the finalists were announced for
- 5:57Speaker 4: all the AP Awards. Oh yeah's a lot of Patriots presence.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so you have to have, Alex, you have the list.
- 6:05Speaker 6: I don't have it.
- 6:05Speaker 7: But off the top of my head, Drake May obviously
- 6:08Speaker 7: m VP and Offensive Player of the Year, Mike rabel
- 6:10Speaker 7: Coach of the Year, Josh McDaniel's Offensive as System of
- 6:13Speaker 7: the Year, digg's Comeback Player of the Year, and Travon
- 6:16Speaker 7: Henderson Rookie of the Year.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And also May is in the category for Offensive Player of.
- 6:20Speaker 4: The Year, which is why that Alex said, which VP
- 6:23Speaker 4: and offensive?
- 6:25Speaker 3: I don't understand why Stafford isn't in Offensive Player of
- 6:28Speaker 3: the Year.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you can make an argument for that.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Those are tricky and you and I do not handle them. Well, no,
- 6:37Speaker 4: in full disclosure, friend and Paul do not handle the
- 6:40Speaker 4: NFL awards.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Well, why not fill me in because people don't do
- 6:43Speaker 2: it right.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, the voters, because.
- 6:46Speaker 2: We're smarter than ever.
- 6:49Speaker 4: But I think you can make an argument that May's
- 6:53Speaker 4: running ability has made him more of like a productive
- 6:58Speaker 4: offensive player than effort, whereas m v P you could
- 7:03Speaker 4: make a different argument for I think it's kind of
- 7:06Speaker 4: circumcising the mosquito, as Jerry Jones likes to say. I
- 7:09Speaker 4: don't really find a whole lot of difference with those.
- 7:12Speaker 4: But May is a finalist for both. Stafford is only
- 7:16Speaker 4: a finalist for MVP.
- 7:18Speaker 6: Trick should get both.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I think you should get m v P. I don't
- 7:23Speaker 2: think you should get Offensive Player of the Year. I
- 7:24Speaker 2: think that should be Pooka and Nakula.
- 7:28Speaker 7: But if Puka is an Offensive Player of the Year,
- 7:30Speaker 7: that just totally diminishes Stafford's m v P.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Well, that's why I picked May for m VP, because
- 7:37Speaker 2: he's don't with less. That's my whole life.
- 7:38Speaker 6: We're preaching to the choir here, Did you want an argument?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Because we can do I could change.
- 7:43Speaker 7: You, guys, I could change I hope I got a
- 7:47Speaker 7: good one today.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Why you know you you're hurting for material this week? Well,
- 7:53Speaker 4: Fred thinks it's going to be a tough game. We'll
- 7:54Speaker 4: argue about that later.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm not looking for material. I think we have plenty.
- 7:58Speaker 7: We're in the Asty Championship this weekend.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I wonder why.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Evan always gives me some fun material.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Will be good.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I was wondering why you were looking for an
- 8:08Speaker 4: argument then for fun. Usually that's you know, for fun.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So this email just came across the transom in I
- 8:15Speaker 3: don't know if this is accurate or not, but it's Jeremiah.
- 8:19Speaker 3: You know, he's a frequent emailer. He says big decisions
- 8:23Speaker 3: this offseason for Denver having to figure out what to
- 8:26Speaker 3: do with Bo. According to Broncos players and a legendary
- 8:30Speaker 3: QB coach, Stidham is equal to, if not better than,
- 8:34Speaker 3: Drake's best play this season. Hope they ship Nick somewhere
- 8:37Speaker 3: that will he will thrive since they have a potential
- 8:40Speaker 3: MVP as his backup. Is this Brady and Bledsoe all
- 8:43Speaker 3: over again? Also, how is the Patriots playoff wins being
- 8:46Speaker 3: easy talked about more than the Rams playoff wins? Anyway,
- 8:50Speaker 3: forget about the last line. I have not heard of
- 8:53Speaker 3: somebody saying that uh Stidham is as good as May's
- 8:58Speaker 3: best play this year.
- 8:59Speaker 6: I saw at this morning.
- 9:03Speaker 2: In cheek or what he didn't say that Jordan Palmer.
- 9:07Speaker 4: First of all, that guy that email was tongue in
- 9:09Speaker 4: cheek because of what Jordan Palmer said.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Okay, what if Jordan Palmer say he.
- 9:16Speaker 7: He said, if Drake May and Jared Sidham both play
- 9:20Speaker 7: at their best.
- 9:20Speaker 6: There's not much of a difference.
- 9:21Speaker 2: That's what he said.
- 9:23Speaker 6: I really think that's a verbat him if I remember correctly.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I think that's I think Alex nailed it. That's exact
- 9:28Speaker 2: basically what Jeremiah said to He said that he said
- 9:31Speaker 2: that is better than Drake May at his best. Yeaheah,
- 9:35Speaker 2: that's not what Okay, that's not what he's saying. Do
- 9:38Speaker 2: you think it's even equal? I mean that they're both absurd.
- 9:41Speaker 6: I mean Jared Sidham would be a starting quarterback for
- 9:43Speaker 6: a different team.
- 9:45Speaker 3: What are we going to argue about this?
- 9:48Speaker 4: No, no, no, but what Jordan Palmer is saying. I totally
- 9:51Speaker 4: disagree with Jordan Palmer.
- 9:52Speaker 2: As you know.
- 9:52Speaker 4: I don't think this game is going to be overly
- 9:54Speaker 4: difficult because of the fact that.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Jared Sidham is starting it.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Okay, I think what Palmer is trying to say is,
- 10:02Speaker 4: if Stidham plays at his best, he has the ability
- 10:06Speaker 4: to match Drake May. I would disagree with that. I
- 10:09Speaker 4: don't think he is as talented as Drake May. I
- 10:11Speaker 4: don't think it's really even close. But that's what like.
- 10:14Speaker 2: He's not suggesting that Stidham is a better player. He's
- 10:17Speaker 2: saying he has the ability to.
- 10:19Speaker 3: But if they're the best, replace May with Josh Allen.
- 10:24Speaker 3: If Steadham plays at his best, he has the ability
- 10:26Speaker 3: to match Josh Allen. How would you feel about that statement?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that would be rational what you May
- 10:36Speaker 2: and Allen?
- 10:37Speaker 4: No oh, you said, I don't think it's rational.
- 10:41Speaker 1: With May.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I don't think that Stidham has that kind of a
- 10:44Speaker 2: I can see that. No, no, no, I'm saying that's what
- 10:46Speaker 2: Jordan Palmer.
- 10:48Speaker 7: Romantics are kind of important here, I think, because it's
- 10:50Speaker 7: not if Stidham plays at his best it's similar. It's
- 10:53Speaker 7: if both Drake May and Stidham plays.
- 10:57Speaker 2: He's claiming ability.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Is the same as well.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I'm I'm saying it's absurd because if Stidham plays it
- 11:05Speaker 3: his best and May plays average to what he's been doing,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I think it's still absurd.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Same. But hey, these people are.
- 11:16Speaker 3: About the game.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Then if you think Stidham could play and you can't
- 11:19Speaker 4: compare with a bunch of.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Other people on that team besides the quarterback. That's why
- 11:23Speaker 3: I'm nervous, because it's not it's the quarter because I
- 11:27Speaker 3: think it's a good team with a good coach, and
- 11:29Speaker 3: I think it's a type of teams can overcome sometimes
- 11:32Speaker 3: when they have a backup quarterback.
- 11:34Speaker 2: No, I know that.
- 11:35Speaker 4: But if you don't think that he could play at
- 11:37Speaker 4: his best and even be like match, May's media mediocrity.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Like I don't think he can, but I think there's
- 11:44Speaker 2: other aspects. So the only way the game can be
- 11:46Speaker 2: close is if May really stinks.
- 11:47Speaker 3: No, they can run well, they can play defense well,
- 11:52Speaker 3: jam us up.
- 11:53Speaker 4: But it's not going to matter if Stidham can't even
- 11:55Speaker 4: be as good as a mediocre man.
- 11:57Speaker 2: If it's if it's ten to three going into the
- 11:59Speaker 2: fourth court, or it's a game, well, so, now May
- 12:02Speaker 2: wasn't mediocre. If it's if it's ten, what about their
- 12:05Speaker 2: defense being really good?
- 12:07Speaker 3: Way, Well, listen, we didn't know our defense was as
- 12:10Speaker 3: good as it is until the last two games.
- 12:12Speaker 2: What if they were. That's why I don't think this
- 12:14Speaker 2: game is going to be.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Defense rallies and say, you know, we've we lost our
- 12:20Speaker 3: starting quarterback.
- 12:21Speaker 2: We have to win this game. And they play lights
- 12:23Speaker 2: A path, Yes there is, and it's May playing poorly.
- 12:26Speaker 2: That's the power.
- 12:27Speaker 3: It's their defense playing lights out and the rest and
- 12:30Speaker 3: their offensive line playing really well and running well and
- 12:33Speaker 3: keeping the time of possession in their favor and shortening
- 12:37Speaker 3: the game. There's a million paths to it being a
- 12:40Speaker 3: tough game.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Not if May play as well. Okay, May has to
- 12:45Speaker 4: play poorly for all those things.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I think you could just play average, and that could happen.
- 12:51Speaker 2: He'll put too many I've watched football for a while.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I you know, I kind of have.
- 12:54Speaker 4: You know, you're trying to convince yourself that if you
- 12:58Speaker 4: think it's going to be easy.
- 12:59Speaker 2: You're going to the team. That's I'm basically can't talk about.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Basing this on you know, fifty years of watching football
- 13:09Speaker 3: and knowing that teams rise up, especially teams with really
- 13:13Speaker 3: good coaches, which I think Denver has.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I'm not expecting Denver to roll over. I'm expecting to
- 13:19Speaker 4: show up to a gunfight with a knife. That's what
- 13:21Speaker 4: I'm expecting. They're not going to have the tools to
- 13:23Speaker 4: be able to compete. Listen, if they're going to try.
- 13:26Speaker 3: If May plays at his best, I agree with you.
- 13:30Speaker 3: But I do give Denver's defense a lot of credit
- 13:34Speaker 3: going into this game to keep him from just you know,
- 13:38Speaker 3: going nuts.
- 13:39Speaker 2: In this game.
- 13:41Speaker 7: But from the past two games, we can see that
- 13:43Speaker 7: that can happen, and we can still be confident because.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Of the great thing about the Patriots is that they
- 13:48Speaker 3: figure out ways to win, you know, whatever type of
- 13:52Speaker 3: game they find themselves in, however the game declares itself,
- 13:56Speaker 3: they figure out a way to win. So that's Listen,
- 13:59Speaker 3: I think we're going to win, but I don't think
- 14:01Speaker 3: it's going to be easy.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Definitely not.
- 14:04Speaker 7: But to say that Stidham is all of a sudden
- 14:08Speaker 7: just going to turn out and be not just like
- 14:11Speaker 7: an NFL starter caliber quarterback but a really good.
- 14:14Speaker 3: One, yeah, I don't know.
- 14:15Speaker 7: Like, listen, show me what he looks like the first
- 14:18Speaker 7: time Milton Williams is running at him.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Sure, and let me let me say this to kind
- 14:22Speaker 3: of clarify my stance. The reasons why this game could
- 14:29Speaker 3: be tough has nothing to do with Jared Stidham.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Let's put it that way, right, And that's kind of
- 14:34Speaker 2: where we started. This whole thing was what I thought
- 14:37Speaker 2: was kind of.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Silly hyperbole by Jordan Palmer, like to suggest that a
- 14:42Speaker 4: guy who hasn't really played in seven years is capable
- 14:45Speaker 4: of playing like the MVP.
- 14:47Speaker 8: That's a that's a big, big drink man, Jared Stidham
- 14:50Speaker 8: both play at their best. I don't think it's much different,
- 14:53Speaker 8: he said, I.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Don't both play at their best. That is a ridiculous state.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I don't think there's much different.
- 14:59Speaker 4: So he that May's best is only a little better
- 15:02Speaker 4: than Stidham, right, I'm sorry, I can't.
- 15:04Speaker 3: That's a ridiculous thing to me, is trying to strip
- 15:07Speaker 3: him of his credentials, crap out of him.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Later, his brother, what did he ever do? He was
- 15:14Speaker 2: like a jaggy quarterback I think at Vanderbilt. Maybe I
- 15:17Speaker 2: don't know. That might have been Rogers's brother. I don't know,
- 15:20Speaker 2: but whatever.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Like, I don't like to kill people for opinions because
- 15:23Speaker 4: everybody has them, and I just.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Went stupid, Okay, entitled to your opinions.
- 15:29Speaker 4: I disagree with the opinion, but you know whatever, Maybe
- 15:34Speaker 4: I'll be wrong because I don't think this game is
- 15:36Speaker 4: going to be difficult, so I could be right.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I hope you're right, and if you are, I'll be
- 15:41Speaker 3: like Paul, thank god.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:43Speaker 3: But it's the AC Championship. They're a good team. They
- 15:49Speaker 3: didn't get here just because of bon Nicks, and they're
- 15:53Speaker 3: gonna make it tough without him.
- 15:57Speaker 6: How many comebacks did Bonnicks have this year? Vet a
- 16:01Speaker 6: ton seven at least?
- 16:03Speaker 2: You know, you could make an argument that they wouldn't
- 16:04Speaker 2: be there without Bonus.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Oh that's true, but maybe they'd have more points if
- 16:07Speaker 3: they had a better quarterback.
- 16:10Speaker 2: But Jared Stidham isn't that. He isn't that. I agree.
- 16:14Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 16:15Speaker 7: People are telling me that, really, like it's been Jared
- 16:17Speaker 7: Sidham the whole time, just behind bon Nicks, and he's
- 16:20Speaker 7: going to have his coming out party and well there's.
- 16:24Speaker 3: A narrative that's been going around, and it's true that
- 16:27Speaker 3: even as a backup, he's sought after backup. I think
- 16:31Speaker 3: he's the highest paid backup in the league.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Yeah, and I and I give credence to Josh McDaniels.
- 16:39Speaker 7: He was here when we drafted him, and then he
- 16:41Speaker 7: wanted him again in Vegas. I don't and then apparently
- 16:44Speaker 7: we wanted him again here this offseason, so I give
- 16:48Speaker 7: credence to that, but it's still just not enough.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And did I hear it.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I don't know if it was Robert Kraft who said it,
- 16:53Speaker 3: but while he was here, teams had made inquiries to
- 16:57Speaker 3: get him.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Oh, I didn't see that.
- 16:59Speaker 2: But so can I just say the whole Josh McDaniel's thing,
- 17:03Speaker 2: Sure you can say it, say it.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I don't think that joshon I don't think Josh McDaniel's
- 17:08Speaker 4: looking for Jared Stidham as his backup as an indication
- 17:11Speaker 4: that he thinks he's like superb. He has a guy
- 17:16Speaker 4: that he knows, knows his offense and is a backup yeap. Like,
- 17:21Speaker 4: I think it's as simple as that. Like, if you
- 17:23Speaker 4: have your choice between bringing in Josh Dobbs from outside
- 17:27Speaker 4: the organization who has never been in this system, or
- 17:29Speaker 4: Jared Stidham, I could understand why Josh McDaniels would have
- 17:33Speaker 4: wanted a guy who was already familiar with his system,
- 17:35Speaker 4: who is a backup he's not going to be necessarily
- 17:39Speaker 4: pushing to play, like the whole Joe Milton situation. I
- 17:43Speaker 4: think it's as simple as that. It's a guy who
- 17:45Speaker 4: fit the suit. He knew the offense, and he knew
- 17:49Speaker 4: and Josh knew him. I don't think this was because
- 17:52Speaker 4: they think this diamond in the rough that no one
- 17:54Speaker 4: else understands. But Josh McDaniels and Sean Payton, those are
- 17:57Speaker 4: the only two guys that know how good you know
- 18:00Speaker 4: what I mean. I don't think it's that him game.
- 18:03Speaker 4: You know you've heard a lot. I mean, I give
- 18:04Speaker 4: Sean Payton a lot of credit. He's really being a
- 18:07Speaker 4: good leader if you ask me, the way he has
- 18:09Speaker 4: been handling this and talking about he's one of the
- 18:12Speaker 4: better best thirty two and he's trying.
- 18:15Speaker 2: He's trying to convince his team that we can do this.
- 18:19Speaker 2: And I applaud that that's what he should be doing.
- 18:21Speaker 4: But I don't necessarily think the fans should have to
- 18:24Speaker 4: go along with him, like the fans of the Patriots, like,
- 18:27Speaker 4: we shouldn't have to be extra nervous because everybody's talking
- 18:31Speaker 4: up Jared Stidham.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Well, i'd be nervous if bo Nix was playing as well.
- 18:36Speaker 3: You know it's going to be a tough game.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I would be nervous if bo Nix was playing, all right, so.
- 18:45Speaker 3: So that so that email is accurate for the most part. Uh,
- 18:49Speaker 3: And that's a really bad take by Jordan Palmer.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I agree. I I just like, I think that what
- 18:56Speaker 2: the hell I think to suggest that.
- 19:00Speaker 1: The the only thing.
- 19:04Speaker 4: He said he knew him as because he worked with
- 19:08Speaker 4: him and stuff like that, Like there you go. I
- 19:10Speaker 4: think it's a really bad take. Emailer who wrote in
- 19:13Speaker 4: that was a really good like.
- 19:18Speaker 8: Kept secrets most of the unknown high quality player. Insert
- 19:23Speaker 8: other line that makes sense and is congruent with those statements.
- 19:26Speaker 8: But I don't think anybody knows until this weekend how
- 19:28Speaker 8: good Jared Sidam is.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Okay, so he needed Do you I remember when Sam
- 19:35Speaker 3: Bradford was coming out Gil Brandt, I guess lived across
- 19:37Speaker 3: the street from me. He was really playing them.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Because he knew the kid. He's stunk, you know.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Yeah, so sometimes sometimes you're biased when you have a
- 19:47Speaker 3: personal relationship with a player, and I get that, but
- 19:51Speaker 3: to come out public, do.
- 19:52Speaker 2: You think sam Bradford stunk?
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yeah, he did.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Well, He's light years better than Yard's did.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Okay, all right, And if sam Bradford was playing.
- 19:59Speaker 2: It, you know, like I'd be nervous if Sam Bradford
- 20:01Speaker 2: was playing. He's a competent NFL quarterback. Jared Denver's gonna
- 20:05Speaker 2: make this game tough. And it's not going to be
- 20:06Speaker 2: because of Jared Stidham. It's going to be everything else.
- 20:10Speaker 2: It's gonna be everything else, All those other things still exist.
- 20:13Speaker 4: I am just expecting the Patriots to play well, I think,
- 20:17Speaker 4: especially offensively, because they haven't done it yet. I think
- 20:20Speaker 4: they do Okay, So maybe it's more faith in the
- 20:23Speaker 4: Patriots than anything about Jared Stidham.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Okay, all right, good stuff? All right? What else? What else?
- 20:33Speaker 2: What do we got? We got?
- 20:34Speaker 3: So just remind everybody in Denver Saturday night, starting at
- 20:39Speaker 3: four point thirty local time at Jackson's Leado, there is
- 20:44Speaker 3: a fan rally, followed at five o'clock by a live
- 20:48Speaker 3: Patriots All Access show from five to six, and then
- 20:51Speaker 3: the rally continues after that. Adam Vanity will be there, Yes,
- 20:55Speaker 3: Ann Stone, mother of God, Adam Vanity will be there,
- 20:59Speaker 3: David Andrews will be there, cheerleaders, pat Patriot giveaways, all
- 21:03Speaker 3: this stuff.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 3: So, if you're in Denver and you're a Patriots fan,
- 21:08Speaker 3: you want to head down the Jackson's and LEDO. Probably
- 21:10Speaker 3: get online now it's going to be banged out, so
- 21:14Speaker 3: we'll see you there Saturday night.
- 21:16Speaker 6: I got to talk to Ann right before.
- 21:18Speaker 3: She's the greatest good good, so that that'll be uh,
- 21:23Speaker 3: that'll be good. And I just I always get nervous
- 21:27Speaker 3: with these fan rallies because I see the fans and
- 21:29Speaker 3: I just want the Patriots to win so much for them,
- 21:33Speaker 3: you know, like when we were in London most recently
- 21:35Speaker 3: with a rally and we ended up playing.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Like ass that game Germany too, Yeah, you know Germany
- 21:42Speaker 2: that week the year before.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Like, I just feel bad for the fans that come
- 21:46Speaker 3: out and put their heart into it and then you
- 21:49Speaker 3: lay a stinker. So I just hope the Patriots win
- 21:52Speaker 3: for the fans.
- 21:53Speaker 6: Germany, especially because we couldn't even square Oh that.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Was that was dreadful. That was dreadful. You know, that
- 21:59Speaker 3: passed by Mac Jones and close to the red zone.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Any anyway, Okay, this this Buffalo thing, you know, I
- 22:10Speaker 3: finally heard yeah, actual quotes. So when you're basically he's
- 22:15Speaker 3: saying that a nine year head coach you fired him
- 22:18Speaker 3: because of one game, the results of one game, which
- 22:21Speaker 3: he's lying that can't be the case.
- 22:25Speaker 7: But the stuff of the players coming out is the
- 22:27Speaker 7: most I don't know, all I could think about yesterday
- 22:30Speaker 7: seeing all this Bills stuff play out, and it also
- 22:33Speaker 7: is confounded with you guys. I don't know if you saw,
- 22:35Speaker 7: because it's like football mode right now. But Baxter Homes
- 22:38Speaker 7: came out with a piece about the Lakers downfall.
- 22:40Speaker 2: And the turmoil, and the bus didn't read it, but it's.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Phenomenal, great read, but not important.
- 22:45Speaker 7: But it just all I kept thinking about with everything
- 22:47Speaker 7: I was reading yesterday about the Bills and the Lakers
- 22:49Speaker 7: was Mike Rabel's quote, It's not like this everywhere else,
- 22:54Speaker 7: And I just kept thinking about, like Stefan Diggs and
- 22:57Speaker 7: the reputation he had leaving in the stuff he kind
- 23:00Speaker 7: to said about that Bill's front office, like maybe people,
- 23:02Speaker 7: oh Diggs an apology for when he left.
- 23:04Speaker 6: I don't know. It was just I love the dysfunction.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yep, I do too. I love it.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I love it.
- 23:11Speaker 3: You know it's fun to make fun of your your
- 23:13Speaker 3: rivals for sure. Yeah all right, well, okay, so that's
- 23:18Speaker 3: going on. H Baker Mayfield also had some harsh words
- 23:22Speaker 3: about the Browns. Great said I was traded like a
- 23:24Speaker 3: piece of garbage.
- 23:25Speaker 7: About Fancy specifically, yeah, he said to see you twice
- 23:28Speaker 7: a year, coach, Like, damn, the.
- 23:31Speaker 2: League is better with him minute.
- 23:32Speaker 6: Hell it really is, helly Yeah, on and off the field.
- 23:36Speaker 6: I love the drama.
- 23:37Speaker 3: All right, Okay, so let's let's get right into it
- 23:40Speaker 3: because Rabel could be coming up in about seven minutes
- 23:44Speaker 3: his day press conference this week because it's the AS Championship,
- 23:49Speaker 3: So we'll go to Rabel as soon as he goes live.
- 23:51Speaker 3: So let's let's get right to people and what they
- 23:54Speaker 3: have to say. See if they're as fired up as
- 23:56Speaker 3: I am. We'll start with Dan and Tampa.
- 23:59Speaker 2: What's up?
- 23:59Speaker 1: Dan?
- 24:02Speaker 10: Can you guys hear me?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we can hear you.
- 24:05Speaker 10: So, yeah, I just wanted to chime in on a
- 24:07Speaker 10: couple of years takes. First, take the whole Buffalo Bills
- 24:12Speaker 10: with Sean mcgerlad.
- 24:13Speaker 5: That was a disaster.
- 24:15Speaker 10: Every network is literally going after being in I agree
- 24:20Speaker 10: with with ESPN said he should have just kept it
- 24:22Speaker 10: to a short statement and just left it as that.
- 24:25Speaker 10: He looks like he looks like how the Patriots did
- 24:28Speaker 10: when Belichick and Craft were going at it when they split.
- 24:31Speaker 10: It looks it looks terrible. He just made himself, He
- 24:34Speaker 10: embarrassed himself. So that's the first take. The second thing
- 24:38Speaker 10: I would say is, I don't know if you guys
- 24:43Speaker 10: heard some talk that there's been some new rumors about
- 24:46Speaker 10: Josh McDaniel's possibly, you know, with the Cardinals. I don't
- 24:50Speaker 10: know if you heard that.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I did not see that now. I haven't heard that way.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Did you hear it? Is it.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Or Jordan Palmer?
- 24:59Speaker 3: No?
- 24:59Speaker 10: This this is some stuff that I guess it was Darling.
- 25:02Speaker 10: I don't know if you know Jeff Darlington.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's reputable.
- 25:07Speaker 11: Yeah, so that's yeah, so.
- 25:09Speaker 10: That that there could be possibly there, So I would
- 25:12Speaker 10: want to see him. I want to I want them obviously,
- 25:14Speaker 10: we all want.
- 25:14Speaker 11: Josh to stay.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that part continuity, and then.
- 25:19Speaker 10: The last part I was gonna mention on is that
- 25:23Speaker 10: the whole Jared Stidham thing. I'm over talking about this guy.
- 25:27Speaker 10: I mean, uh, I don't know if you guys saw
- 25:29Speaker 10: the interview with uh with Sean Payton. I just watched
- 25:33Speaker 10: it this morning. I mean, Sean Payton credits Josh Neils
- 25:37Speaker 10: a lot, and I like stid him too, but I
- 25:40Speaker 10: don't think he's just all worlds guy like Paul was saying,
- 25:43Speaker 10: like people need to stop talking about this guy. He's
- 25:45Speaker 10: a freaking backup quarterback. Brok right out loud. And then
- 25:48Speaker 10: the last thing, Paul, did you see what your guy?
- 25:50Speaker 10: Bertane and Zulac we're talking to Kraft at the stadium
- 25:54Speaker 10: the other day about how Kraft was mentioning. Uh. He
- 25:58Speaker 10: praised how well the team doing, and he even mentioned
- 26:02Speaker 10: that he took a huge financial commitment firing draw staff,
- 26:06Speaker 10: which no one talks about. He's still paying Draw and
- 26:09Speaker 10: all those other coaches that were on the fire staff.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, no one talks about him now.
- 26:13Speaker 3: That was talked about Dan for sure because it was
- 26:17Speaker 3: mentioned earlier in another interview that he did.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean yeah, when coaches get fired, you have
- 26:23Speaker 2: to pay their contracts. It's talked about incessantly. Yeah. Dan's
- 26:27Speaker 2: in New Jersey. What's up Dan?
- 26:30Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 26:31Speaker 11: And not another Dan, but anyway, oh okay, I wondered
- 26:36Speaker 11: if if he can change things up a little bit,
- 26:39Speaker 11: can I talk to a little Patriots Broncos eighties trivia?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Sure?
- 26:44Speaker 13: Sure?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Why not? Always here for that?
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 26:47Speaker 11: Otherwise known as Stump Paulie, So Stump the Paul as
- 26:50Speaker 11: you know, Stump the grump right, as you know we're
- 26:55Speaker 11: owen for right, in Denver in the playoffs. But going
- 26:58Speaker 11: back to that first one January eighty seven, who was
- 27:04Speaker 11: the Patriots defender who allowed the game winning, game winning
- 27:07Speaker 11: touchdown on the last play of the third quarter?
- 27:11Speaker 2: What was the question? I'm sorry, On the last play of.
- 27:15Speaker 11: The third quarter there was a pass from Lway forty
- 27:18Speaker 11: eight yards and that's that put him up I think
- 27:22Speaker 11: seventeen thirteen or twenty thirteen. Who was in coverage on that.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I'm going to say Ronnie Lapet, but it's just a guess.
- 27:31Speaker 11: Tim Fox Well, Ronnie was. Ronie la Pett was at
- 27:34Speaker 11: that game, and Ernest.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Gibson, Ernest Gibson and Oka Deerness Gibson.
- 27:39Speaker 11: Yeah, and you might recall he was have good coverage
- 27:42Speaker 11: except the pass was underthrown and he just kept going
- 27:47Speaker 11: and Vance Johnson didn't and caught it in the end
- 27:51Speaker 11: zone on that same play. One thing that was interesting,
- 27:56Speaker 11: we had a a lineman off side. Do you remember
- 27:58Speaker 11: who it was?
- 28:01Speaker 2: It was a free play, Daron Verius, I think it was.
- 28:07Speaker 11: No, I think it was Don Blackman.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Yeah, it's not really in the spirit
- 28:13Speaker 3: of trivia. Yeah, well, I don't think I don't like this, Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Freddy's being mean. Just because I didn't know them doesn't
- 28:23Speaker 2: mean it weren't. They weren't. Trivia know, that's really granular.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Who was off? Well, I mean, I know a lot
- 28:29Speaker 2: of random crap. Yeah, I know you do.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Thanks, Dan, appreciate the call. Uh, let's go to Tommy
- 28:36Speaker 3: in Los Angeles. What's up, Tommy? That's what's up Tommy?
- 28:44Speaker 2: You're in l A. Tommy? Is it Brady?
- 28:49Speaker 11: Oh?
- 28:49Speaker 2: Hey, what's going on? All right, you guys?
- 28:53Speaker 3: I was listening.
- 28:53Speaker 14: You guys really already kind of beat it to the nail.
- 28:56Speaker 14: As far as the whole Sedum conversation. My only fear
- 28:58Speaker 14: really is I just want to know what you guys
- 29:00Speaker 14: think of how we're going to approach them defensively. I
- 29:02Speaker 14: hear he could really air it out, and I know
- 29:05Speaker 14: Sean Payton is an offense of Guru. So if you
- 29:07Speaker 14: guys are on the defensive side of the ball, how
- 29:09Speaker 14: are you guys wanting to start it off? It's the
- 29:11Speaker 14: last game potentially of their season. They can come out
- 29:14Speaker 14: really just not care about him throwing picks or anything,
- 29:16Speaker 14: just really airing us out.
- 29:17Speaker 2: So all right, well we'll get to that after Rabel.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I'll put you on hold if you want to stay,
- 29:23Speaker 3: but you can hang up a weekend answer, but I'll
- 29:24Speaker 3: put you on hold in case I had any kind.
- 29:27Speaker 13: Of relationship for interactions with Sean Payton, and how do
- 29:32Speaker 13: you see his team as a reflection of him?
- 29:36Speaker 15: Uh, yeah, I have had interactions with Sean and very
- 29:42Speaker 15: successful football coach. Tough to defend for, you know, tough
- 29:48Speaker 15: to defend against. I think he does a great job
- 29:52Speaker 15: with his personnel and his scheme and the guys that
- 29:55Speaker 15: he had in New Orleans and how they use those guys,
- 29:59Speaker 15: and then certainly how.
- 30:01Speaker 1: He's using the weapons offensively.
- 30:05Speaker 15: Uh in Denver, And I think you have to prepare
- 30:08Speaker 15: for a lot and uh again, it's not like they
- 30:13Speaker 15: they do too much to where they're you know, they've
- 30:15Speaker 15: got rules for everything, they've got protections for everything. You know,
- 30:20Speaker 15: good mixture in the run game. You know, there's some
- 30:23Speaker 15: there's some r p O with some big people personnel.
- 30:26Speaker 1: So it's like it. I think he's had his core
- 30:28Speaker 1: concepts that.
- 30:29Speaker 15: He's had for a lot of years, and then he's
- 30:32Speaker 15: just continued to add onto that, you know, as some
- 30:36Speaker 15: of the game has changed and some of the ideas
- 30:38Speaker 15: and and the schemes have have evolved, and so I
- 30:41Speaker 15: think that that's.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Pretty unique.
- 30:43Speaker 15: I think he's got plays for certain guys that he
- 30:46Speaker 15: wants to to try to find ways to get them
- 30:49Speaker 15: the ball. You know, his record clearly speaks for itself,
- 30:52Speaker 15: and so you know, tough challenge. You know, he's he's
- 30:59Speaker 15: he's a proven winner in this league.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Like what's your h A lot of talking about Yard
- 31:04Speaker 2: Stidham obviously coming in here, but what have Josh Dobbs,
- 31:06Speaker 2: Tommy Debido been like for you all season long?
- 31:10Speaker 15: They prepare as a starter every week and you know, Dobbs,
- 31:14Speaker 15: he's had to go in there a little bit. I
- 31:15Speaker 15: think Tom has really improved in our system and what
- 31:19Speaker 15: it is that we're asking him to do and how
- 31:22Speaker 15: he would need to operate.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So again, those guys have been great.
- 31:25Speaker 15: They've been a you know, a huge support for for
- 31:29Speaker 15: Drake and you know everything that we've done offensively, and
- 31:32Speaker 15: then you know, running and operate in our show.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Teampating limitations for Christian.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Barmore and y else too.
- 31:39Speaker 15: Uh No, certainly something that we we have to monitor.
- 31:42Speaker 15: There are some some players that you know we'll have
- 31:46Speaker 15: to monitor for for one reason or another. But I
- 31:51Speaker 15: don't see any limitations for for Christian.
- 31:54Speaker 1: In like regarding preparing for Sean. Among the things trick.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Plays big games have all the past last week, picking
- 32:03Speaker 3: the Super Bowl surprise on sides kick?
- 32:05Speaker 4: Is that something that you generally just fall back on
- 32:08Speaker 4: your fundamental screening keys.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Is there a way to prepare for all the possibilities?
- 32:14Speaker 15: I think I've got the surprise on site kick handled. Okay,
- 32:19Speaker 15: I was gonna say I got that one covered. You
- 32:23Speaker 15: can't really play for you know, they run bubbles, and
- 32:27Speaker 15: so the complimentary play is the bubble and go. Now,
- 32:31Speaker 15: can't sit there and wait for the bubble and go,
- 32:32Speaker 15: because you know eight or nine times out of ten
- 32:36Speaker 15: you're gonna be wrong. And so I think you just
- 32:38Speaker 15: have to You have to play defense. You have to
- 32:40Speaker 15: go and play with a with a certain speed and aggressiveness.
- 32:44Speaker 15: And then you know, obviously what's your keys tell you
- 32:46Speaker 15: to do, and where you know your read would tell
- 32:50Speaker 15: you to go and cover, and so you know he's
- 32:55Speaker 15: certainly the timing of when he's called some of these
- 32:57Speaker 15: things has been oppressive. And then again when you call
- 33:02Speaker 15: those and it's up to the players to make it work.
- 33:04Speaker 15: And they've done a good job of making those plays work.
- 33:07Speaker 15: But the timing in which some of these things have
- 33:11Speaker 15: been called have been good.
- 33:12Speaker 10: What kind of what I pack?
- 33:13Speaker 2: Do you mindre as a pass catcher for you guys.
- 33:17Speaker 15: You know, going all the way back to Miami, you know,
- 33:19Speaker 15: we needed to play and he was able to give
- 33:21Speaker 15: us one. And you know, I think that that's just
- 33:24Speaker 15: something that's part of his skill set. It's been great to.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Have and to use and you know, just another one
- 33:31Speaker 1: of those guys to spread the ball around.
- 33:33Speaker 16: Last week we saw the Bills get a crucial penalty
- 33:35Speaker 16: on an underthrown deep.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Ball for interference.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Is that something you guys are going to be looking
- 33:39Speaker 2: out for this week? And what are the keys to
- 33:40Speaker 2: not getting penalized on those kinds of ways?
- 33:43Speaker 15: I think the only I can tell you is that
- 33:44Speaker 15: the more that you play the football, the better chance
- 33:47Speaker 15: that you have of not getting a defensive you know,
- 33:51Speaker 15: pass interference penalty. So you know, if you can play
- 33:54Speaker 15: the football and make sure you try to turn around
- 33:56Speaker 15: and lean and locate, you have a chance. If you
- 34:00Speaker 15: playing in football, margin freer goes way down your tailor.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Seems like a pretty good fine for you guys. You know,
- 34:05Speaker 2: what have you seen from him, and what is the question?
- 34:09Speaker 1: Great attitude from day one, came in and.
- 34:13Speaker 15: You know, worked hard on those Thursday practices that we
- 34:15Speaker 15: talked about and showed up and then had a conversation
- 34:19Speaker 15: and that said that as soon as you can you know,
- 34:22Speaker 15: learn what to do and where to go and what
- 34:23Speaker 15: to you know, how to run the defense, we decided
- 34:30Speaker 15: he was ready and then he took advantage of his opportunity.
- 34:33Speaker 15: So the first was getting recognized in practice and then
- 34:37Speaker 15: was learning what to do. Uh, kind of midstream there
- 34:41Speaker 15: and maybe he took him a week or so to
- 34:43Speaker 15: do that and where we felt comfortable bringing them up.
- 34:49Speaker 3: You talked about the ability of players to make plays
- 34:52Speaker 3: now where they are in these games.
- 34:54Speaker 15: From all games, it's always always important for players to
- 34:58Speaker 15: make good plays, ton't your perspective?
- 35:01Speaker 16: How do you put guys in positions so that they
- 35:04Speaker 16: they'd be ready in regular regular season games or pot.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Or postseason games to have success.
- 35:13Speaker 15: I think that just comes from practice and learning guys
- 35:15Speaker 15: and seeing what they're comfortable with.
- 35:17Speaker 1: And you know, maybe you know, looking at a receiver
- 35:21Speaker 1: if there's.
- 35:21Speaker 15: A certain route that they run and you know, you
- 35:24Speaker 15: feel like it's game ready and their speed to it,
- 35:27Speaker 15: there's timing to it. You feel comfortable, so you can
- 35:31Speaker 15: kind of check that one off the box. Every player
- 35:34Speaker 15: is unique. Every player has a different skill set, different
- 35:38Speaker 15: play style, and you know, trying to ask them to
- 35:42Speaker 15: do things that they're good at and try to you know,
- 35:44Speaker 15: work on improving the things that maybe they aren't as
- 35:47Speaker 15: good at. But then you get to a certain point
- 35:50Speaker 15: where you probably don't try to force it.
- 35:53Speaker 17: What's made of Benido and Zach Allen of such a
- 35:57Speaker 17: productive tandem there when they're alongside one by the did
- 36:00Speaker 17: they complement each other?
- 36:01Speaker 10: Well?
- 36:02Speaker 15: Well, I think they're they're talented. I think they're both
- 36:06Speaker 15: very athletic for their position. You know, Benito is a
- 36:11Speaker 15: his his strength is his speed, his length is ability
- 36:16Speaker 15: to bend in corner. And Zach Allen's skill set is
- 36:24Speaker 15: a is a bigger athletic interior player who has the
- 36:29Speaker 15: ability to.
- 36:30Speaker 1: To speed to power.
- 36:31Speaker 15: But he uh, you know, really where he's making his
- 36:35Speaker 15: hay is you know, kind of making guys miss and
- 36:38Speaker 15: sitting down bigger players and then you know, bursting on
- 36:41Speaker 15: an edge. So they're talented, and then the scheme that
- 36:45Speaker 15: they that they put him in is makes them you know,
- 36:48Speaker 15: tough like.
- 36:50Speaker 1: All. Briefly, yeah, I don't remember.
- 36:54Speaker 15: Yeah, briefly, I think Tyler was a red shirt, but
- 36:59Speaker 15: uh yeah, I mean I think a while ago.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I mean I remember talking.
- 37:04Speaker 2: With him, seen Cordy Jordan improve as a pass rusher,
- 37:08Speaker 2: And is that an aspect of this game that is
- 37:09Speaker 2: surprised you it all?
- 37:10Speaker 15: Uh No, I mean I think that he's just worked
- 37:13Speaker 15: hard at it. I think that's something that he's focused on,
- 37:17Speaker 15: is figuring out what works for him.
- 37:19Speaker 1: You know, he's not.
- 37:21Speaker 15: Built like Zach Allen, that's not he shouldn't try some
- 37:26Speaker 15: of that stuff. And you know, you get together with
- 37:29Speaker 15: the player clan and everybody else and the coach and
- 37:33Speaker 15: kind of figure out a couple moves that that may
- 37:35Speaker 15: work for them, and then you go about, you know,
- 37:39Speaker 15: practicing those through the week and then coming up with
- 37:42Speaker 15: a plan. And so they're not trying things that you know,
- 37:45Speaker 15: maybe they're not good at, like John's Hayten.
- 37:48Speaker 2: The timing that you mentioned of some of those calls,
- 37:51Speaker 2: is that a case.
- 37:51Speaker 18: Do you see him setting things up earlier in the game,
- 37:54Speaker 18: gathering information formationally testing earlier drives, and then getting to
- 37:57Speaker 18: it later or is it just kind of a knack
- 37:59Speaker 18: he's had.
- 38:00Speaker 15: I think there's a combination of both, you know what
- 38:02Speaker 15: I mean. I think it's uh, you know, forth down, unbalanced,
- 38:08Speaker 15: the tackles out, they throw a shot you know against
- 38:10Speaker 15: the chargers, you know, for for a big play.
- 38:13Speaker 1: So that's you know.
- 38:15Speaker 15: Something you know that they may have shown some look
- 38:20Speaker 15: and thought that it was going to be a certain
- 38:22Speaker 15: play and he's able to take a shot. Some of
- 38:25Speaker 15: it is that they are, you know, marrying plays and
- 38:27Speaker 15: concepts just like you know a lot of other people.
- 38:30Speaker 15: And then they you know, have plays that repeat that
- 38:33Speaker 15: they're also really good at and if you don't defend them,
- 38:36Speaker 15: he just keeps calling him. We've had Christian Nballas go
- 38:41Speaker 15: out with the head injury, and this laston Charls and
- 38:43Speaker 15: they of us with Charles Woods.
- 38:44Speaker 14: How have you seen him mentally.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Stay prepared and just how he rises to the occasion
- 38:49Speaker 2: when he has given.
- 38:50Speaker 15: Well, we hope that he doesn't rise to the occasion.
- 38:52Speaker 15: We hope that he's just prepared and ready to go,
- 38:56Speaker 15: which he has been. I think you like you talked about, uh,
- 39:01Speaker 15: you know, those are opportunities, you know, when when corner,
- 39:03Speaker 15: when you play behind, you know, good players sometimes you
- 39:07Speaker 15: don't get a whole lot of opportunity, and then when
- 39:09Speaker 15: you do, you have to be ready for it. And
- 39:12Speaker 15: you know he has done that. He's prepares as a starter,
- 39:15Speaker 15: he's ready to go. You know, it's you know, you
- 39:19Speaker 15: don't have a whole lot of notice. You don't get
- 39:21Speaker 15: a whole lot of notice when you have to go
- 39:22Speaker 15: in there. And so just being able to throw in
- 39:24Speaker 15: there and go in there and not be able to
- 39:26Speaker 15: have to change the game plan.
- 39:27Speaker 1: It's nice, Mike. When it comes to Drake, it seems
- 39:30Speaker 1: like he's risen to the challenges. The games have gotten bigger.
- 39:33Speaker 1: What does that mean for this week for you? What
- 39:35Speaker 1: are you expecting from Hims?
- 39:38Speaker 15: You know, lead our offense, be the conductor and help
- 39:41Speaker 15: us handle the environment. Find as many positive plays as
- 39:46Speaker 15: you can. Take care to football, own the operation, you know,
- 39:52Speaker 15: and then you're gonna have to make some make some
- 39:54Speaker 15: big time throws.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I mean, you're gonna have to. That's just kind of
- 39:58Speaker 1: how this thing goes.
- 39:59Speaker 15: And h no different than what we've expected him from
- 40:03Speaker 15: the entire season, what we've expected of him and how
- 40:07Speaker 15: he's you know, produced, and you know, it's great to
- 40:10Speaker 15: see some not so positive plays that don't affect some
- 40:15Speaker 15: things that have to happen later in the game.
- 40:17Speaker 1: For us to to succeed.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Like the Layers have talked about your four ages, we
- 40:22Speaker 3: see you with them in the tunnel after these games.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Where did this kind of new school coaching style come from?
- 40:29Speaker 2: How did it develop for you?
- 40:31Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how new school it is.
- 40:33Speaker 15: When I was at Ohio State, I tried to have
- 40:34Speaker 15: a great relationship with the defensive lineman that I coached.
- 40:39Speaker 15: When I went to Houston, I tried to have a
- 40:41Speaker 15: great relationship with Whitney Merciless and Max Buller and Brian
- 40:45Speaker 15: Cushing and everybody that we coach down there. And then
- 40:50Speaker 15: each step along the way, you know, you become a
- 40:56Speaker 15: head coach, and again those relationships probably aren't as the same.
- 41:02Speaker 1: You know.
- 41:02Speaker 15: I want to try to be is be honest with them,
- 41:06Speaker 15: be transparent, be authentic.
- 41:08Speaker 10: You know.
- 41:08Speaker 1: I think that's the biggest thing, is just be authentic
- 41:11Speaker 1: and don't try to be fake.
- 41:12Speaker 15: But we see each other every day. I hope we
- 41:15Speaker 15: have some level of care for what they do as
- 41:19Speaker 15: people and as players.
- 41:21Speaker 19: Like I know, iftividals from your team are not finalists
- 41:25Speaker 19: for end of season awards, including yourself.
- 41:28Speaker 2: What's your reaction to that and what does that just
- 41:30Speaker 2: say about your team?
- 41:31Speaker 1: I hope that they all win.
- 41:34Speaker 18: I don't know if there's taken out of context, but
- 41:36Speaker 18: coach Peyton was quoted as saying that fans in Denver
- 41:39Speaker 18: would have two weeks to rest up after the AFC
- 41:42Speaker 18: Championship before screaming their heads off to the Super Bowl.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Do you believe in bulletin board material.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I think we're plenty motivated for the game.
- 41:52Speaker 15: I think that our players are continuing to build confidence
- 41:55Speaker 15: through the week, So I'm really excited to go out
- 41:59Speaker 15: there and play.
- 42:00Speaker 17: Like, how would you do with characterize Patrick Surtain's skill
- 42:04Speaker 17: set and do they move him around to travel with,
- 42:08Speaker 17: you know, opposing top receivers.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I mean he's very and he's targeted infrequently.
- 42:16Speaker 15: He's physical, he is great length, can run, he's athletic,
- 42:23Speaker 15: he's willing to tackle.
- 42:24Speaker 1: He plays physical.
- 42:27Speaker 15: You know there's a you know, you have to really
- 42:30Speaker 15: be convicted when you're gonna go and throw at him.
- 42:32Speaker 15: You better be very convicted and there better be a
- 42:34Speaker 15: good route and you better have the ball in a good,
- 42:37Speaker 15: good spot or it's gonna be a turnover or a
- 42:40Speaker 15: PBu So, I mean I could just remember going and
- 42:43Speaker 15: seeing him at Alabama, you know, whether I was at
- 42:47Speaker 15: the clinic or a prode or something. You know, just
- 42:49Speaker 15: the presence of him, you know, I mean, his dad
- 42:53Speaker 15: was a fantastic player, and you know, just his presence
- 42:58Speaker 15: in the way that he carried himself as a leader
- 43:00Speaker 15: and as a person.
- 43:02Speaker 1: A lot of respect for him. All those lines with
- 43:05Speaker 1: out there trying to get entertained, Mr Wall, have.
- 43:09Speaker 4: You done that with Christian Avals this year and trying
- 43:11Speaker 4: to get him for the ball to pay for more plays?
- 43:17Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean we're I'm all for Gonzo making as
- 43:20Speaker 15: many plays as possible and being active. And he doesn't
- 43:23Speaker 15: get targeted, you know, as much either. But you know
- 43:28Speaker 15: there's times where he travels, there's times where he's in
- 43:31Speaker 15: different locations.
- 43:34Speaker 1: And it was great to see his.
- 43:35Speaker 15: Ball production last week, even the ball that they caught
- 43:37Speaker 15: on him, you know, the hammer that he had that
- 43:40Speaker 15: it was close to being a fumble.
- 43:41Speaker 3: You said before that Drake was one of the reasons
- 43:44Speaker 3: that attracted you to this job.
- 43:46Speaker 20: Just in your year working with him, What has maybe
- 43:49Speaker 20: surprised you the most about him?
- 43:51Speaker 15: You don't want to know what my other reasons for
- 43:53Speaker 15: company was I had a joke teed up, it's going
- 43:57Speaker 15: to be the media, but.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Thank you, You're welcome. Only you.
- 44:06Speaker 15: He just continues to grow, and again, I think I'm
- 44:09Speaker 15: excited for for these guys to to be in this
- 44:13Speaker 15: environment and to uh to see all their hard work
- 44:17Speaker 15: payoff and and be able to play.
- 44:18Speaker 1: In a game like this. That's you know, I think
- 44:21Speaker 1: there's been a lot of growth from this.
- 44:23Speaker 15: Football team over the course of the off season, the season,
- 44:27Speaker 15: and uh, you know, just another opportunity for us to
- 44:30Speaker 15: to show that this week.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Thanks guys.
- 44:35Speaker 2: All right, that's Mike Rabel thoughts Mike with the jokes,
- 44:40Speaker 2: any uh typical typical stuff.
- 44:44Speaker 4: You know, I think there was, you know, one mildly
- 44:48Speaker 4: interesting thing I hadn't really thought about Christian Barmore in
- 44:52Speaker 4: his blood clot situation, going out to den, going out
- 44:55Speaker 4: to the high altitude, you know, something that I guess
- 44:58Speaker 4: Rabel said that they've taken into consideration. Obviously not going
- 45:03Speaker 4: to put someone in harm's way, but you know a
- 45:06Speaker 4: lot of just regular stuff.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I would think, Yeah, I sense a just.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Kind of a calmness, a quiet confidence. Yeah, you know,
- 45:17Speaker 4: and I think they should be a confident they ainate.
- 45:19Speaker 2: No on the road, they're playing a team with their
- 45:20Speaker 2: backup quarterback, and I think they they fully expect to
- 45:25Speaker 2: have success.
- 45:25Speaker 3: And I think when your defense has been playing as
- 45:27Speaker 3: well as it has the last two games, that to me,
- 45:30Speaker 3: that gives me confidence.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 2: I said it yesterday.
- 45:32Speaker 3: When I watch a game in the Patriot's defense is
- 45:35Speaker 3: handling their job, their business, I get confident.
- 45:39Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more, you know, So yeah, I share
- 45:43Speaker 2: his confidence that way. Yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 4: I was, you know, Evan and I because I had
- 45:46Speaker 4: a sub in for for Mike this morning when we
- 45:48Speaker 4: did a little game preview and when Evan and I
- 45:51Speaker 4: were walking back and we were talking about just that, like,
- 45:53Speaker 4: you know, the way the defensive line is played, this
- 45:56Speaker 4: would be a tougher test because it's not a banged
- 45:58Speaker 4: up offensive line like you've seen the last two weeks.
- 46:01Speaker 4: And it's better. But you know, and I said, yeah,
- 46:05Speaker 4: and you'll know right away like that first quarter. You know,
- 46:09Speaker 4: if Denver goes comes out and they have like the
- 46:12Speaker 4: Sean Payton thing where you know the script is working
- 46:15Speaker 4: and they go right down the field and they score,
- 46:16Speaker 4: I might change my view. I might say, Okay, it's
- 46:19Speaker 4: game on, like they came to play offensively, whereas the
- 46:23Speaker 4: opposite has been true in these two playoff games. The
- 46:26Speaker 4: Patriots defense has just completely dictated it right from the
- 46:29Speaker 4: opening kickoff right and you look and you say.
- 46:32Speaker 2: They're not allowing a lot of points today. You could
- 46:34Speaker 2: see it in the first quarter.
- 46:35Speaker 4: They were not going to allow a lot of points
- 46:37Speaker 4: unless the Patriots scored it for them, score it points
- 46:40Speaker 4: for the opponent. And again, as long as the offense
- 46:44Speaker 4: protects the ball, I have faith that they will move
- 46:47Speaker 4: it and score it more than they have in the
- 46:49Speaker 4: first two playoff games.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Anthony says the only reason US fans are saying the
- 46:54Speaker 3: Broncos have a shot is simply to prevent the jinks.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Paul's right.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Also, it's absolutely a knife to a gunfight, and we
- 47:01Speaker 3: got Drago. We're back. Wake up, Fred, That's what he
- 47:04Speaker 3: says to me.
- 47:05Speaker 2: I like when they chastise you and not me for
- 47:08Speaker 2: a change. That's fun.
- 47:13Speaker 3: But Kevin in Ireland says, I agree with Fred that
- 47:16Speaker 3: Denver has a few paths to victory. I don't think
- 47:18Speaker 3: this will be an easy game because Denver should give
- 47:20Speaker 3: one hundred and ten percent the danger. I think is
- 47:23Speaker 3: not necessarily whether may struggles. I think the key is
- 47:26Speaker 3: the Patriots mindset. If Stidham is serviceable, there's always a
- 47:29Speaker 3: decent chance that he gets a win. Not probable, but
- 47:32Speaker 3: distinctly possible. The likelihood of it hinges on the Patriots
- 47:36Speaker 3: maintaining the same intensity.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yep. Intensity.
- 47:42Speaker 4: So again, if the path to a victory for Denver
- 47:47Speaker 4: involves the Patriots not taking the game seriously and whatnot, yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 4: I'm like, I expect Denver to go into the game
- 47:54Speaker 4: believing it can win and putting everything that they have
- 47:58Speaker 4: into the game. I expect the Patrie just do the same,
- 48:00Speaker 4: right Yeah, yep? Like this is you're playing to go
- 48:03Speaker 4: to the super Bowl.
- 48:04Speaker 7: It's not a regular season game against a trap quarterback.
- 48:06Speaker 7: It's the AFC Championship. How many of these players have
- 48:09Speaker 7: never even sniffed this game?
- 48:10Speaker 4: I just I can't again if I'm not telling you
- 48:15Speaker 4: that this game is not losable. Anytime you play poorly
- 48:18Speaker 4: in an NFL game, you can lose. Yep, you know
- 48:21Speaker 4: the difference, you know, Like Fred, you made the point,
- 48:25Speaker 4: like the Broncos have a lot of other things that
- 48:27Speaker 4: are pretty I agree. I think ultimately it's gonna come
- 48:30Speaker 4: down to can they score enough points to win? And
- 48:32Speaker 4: I think no because of their situation. But I don't
- 48:36Speaker 4: expect Denver to roll over and make it easy for
- 48:39Speaker 4: the Patriot.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Nathan says, huge break with bow Nick's out of the lineup,
- 48:42Speaker 3: which has led much of Patriot's nation be overconfident. I've
- 48:46Speaker 3: been hearing a ton of banter about who the Patriots
- 48:48Speaker 3: fans would rather play in the Super Bowl, completely overlooking
- 48:51Speaker 3: the Broncos. We have not won in Denver in the postseason,
- 48:54Speaker 3: and the way that Drake May has played these last
- 48:56Speaker 3: two games may not be good enough, regardless of who's
- 48:58Speaker 3: playing QB for Denver. Will Campbell is at the top
- 49:01Speaker 3: of my concern. Drake holding onto the ball as another one.
- 49:04Speaker 3: And lastly, pressure against the Broncos o line may allow
- 49:07Speaker 3: Stitty to hit receivers that Herbert and Stroud couldn't m legitimate.
- 49:15Speaker 4: It's all, yeah, those are possibilities. And again he started
- 49:20Speaker 4: the whole thing with if May keeps putting yes, right,
- 49:24Speaker 4: you don't think he will right?
- 49:25Speaker 1: I am.
- 49:26Speaker 4: I have some faith that we've seen the worst of May, right,
- 49:31Speaker 4: and fortunately for the Patriots, they were able to overcome
- 49:34Speaker 4: it because of a couple of factors, not the least
- 49:37Speaker 4: of which I think Rabel alluded to in his press conference.
- 49:41Speaker 4: They were able to mitigate bad plays that didn't come
- 49:44Speaker 4: back to haunt them later in the game because they
- 49:45Speaker 4: recovered some of the fumbles. Yeah, but if May puts
- 49:48Speaker 4: the ball on the ground four times and throws a pick,
- 49:51Speaker 4: You're going to be in trouble.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I'm not expecting that.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Todd and Gnner, I'm gonna need help with this one. Finally,
- 49:56Speaker 3: I heard someone make Drake's nickname something worthy of comment.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Thing.
- 50:00Speaker 3: A young girl, maybe a tweener, called into Fitsie and
- 50:04Speaker 3: Heart to dedicate a song to Drake May Silento's whip
- 50:08Speaker 3: Nee Nee. I don't know that the song her vocals
- 50:12Speaker 3: were watched the Drake watch the May May probably need
- 50:16Speaker 3: Alex or maybe Evan to properly appreciate her effort. Seriously,
- 50:20Speaker 3: you should see if you can get a hold of her,
- 50:21Speaker 3: especially if the Patriots win. Patriot's thirty one, Horse's thirteen.
- 50:26Speaker 3: I've never you know Cilento? Do you know who Silento is?
- 50:29Speaker 6: I don't know who Sonto is, but I think I
- 50:31Speaker 6: know the song.
- 50:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I know the song the copyright, but no, I
- 50:36Speaker 7: just see two kids write like more of like a
- 50:39Speaker 7: folky country song about Drake.
- 50:41Speaker 3: It was actually like the bluegrass kids.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that. Wow you didn't like it?
- 50:48Speaker 7: No, I mean, I'm not like listening into in the car.
- 50:50Speaker 7: I'm like by myself to a jam. But like I
- 50:53Speaker 7: could appreciate it, and I thought it was good.
- 50:55Speaker 12: I thought it was good.
- 50:56Speaker 2: I listened to. Maybe it's not the same one because
- 50:59Speaker 2: the one I saw was like, how about a little efforts?
- 51:05Speaker 6: They were good?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they were They were really good.
- 51:08Speaker 6: It was like you said, it was like a blue
- 51:09Speaker 6: grassy folk It was good stuff.
- 51:13Speaker 2: There was guys playing guitar stuff from North Carolina.
- 51:17Speaker 3: I have.
- 51:17Speaker 2: I'll have to look at it. You can, we can
- 51:19Speaker 2: show it to me.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Maybe I missed.
- 51:21Speaker 2: I missed Chester's in Portland. What's up Chester?
- 51:26Speaker 9: Hey, what's up guys, it's been a minute. I wanted
- 51:28Speaker 9: to chime in on this excitement. You know, to me,
- 51:31Speaker 9: winning in Denver is never a given. You know, I
- 51:34Speaker 9: remember losing the Bronck Osweiler. You know, it was a
- 51:36Speaker 9: November game and it kind of swayed the momentum going
- 51:39Speaker 9: into the playoffs for us. That's kind of the loan
- 51:41Speaker 9: thing that sticks in my mind with this did a matchup,
- 51:43Speaker 9: but you know I'm with Brandon then I think this
- 51:46Speaker 9: game could be tough sledding against this defense if we're
- 51:48Speaker 9: not careful. And you know, the key is the is
- 51:51Speaker 9: the sant long drives and try to cast these guys out.
- 51:54Speaker 9: They play with a lot of energy and a lot
- 51:56Speaker 9: of intensity, just like our unit. And you know, Houston
- 51:59Speaker 9: might be a tougher defense overall, but this defense, this
- 52:02Speaker 9: Denver defense, if they get hot, you know, if we
- 52:05Speaker 9: got a key on stopping Nick Bonito. And the key
- 52:08Speaker 9: to this game is all about attitude, just like that
- 52:10Speaker 9: email or just said, and an.
- 52:11Speaker 11: Execution of course.
- 52:13Speaker 9: You know, if the pass can continue with this level
- 52:15Speaker 9: of aggression and toughness, I love our chances of winning
- 52:18Speaker 9: big and running away with it. But you know that said,
- 52:21Speaker 9: if we keep a minute, you know who knows and
- 52:23Speaker 9: you know something weird can happen on special teams or turnover.
- 52:26Speaker 9: You know that said, it's time to get Denver. I'm
- 52:29Speaker 9: ass kicking this week. I'm thinking twenty four sixteen ish,
- 52:33Speaker 9: you know, if we can just try to stay ahead
- 52:35Speaker 9: and keep that but let's get it, Let's get a win,
- 52:37Speaker 9: and let's get back to that Super Bowl. Baby, I'm
- 52:40Speaker 9: fired up by apparel passination.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Let's get it.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Let's go, let's go buy a peril by your AFC
- 52:45Speaker 4: Championship apparel.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Absolutely I like this email DARPin in New York City. First,
- 52:51Speaker 3: the trivia question for Paul, who is the winning is
- 52:54Speaker 3: QB and Patriots history? Hopefully that has broad enough and
- 52:56Speaker 3: not too granular. For Fred, it's a good whow, but
- 53:01Speaker 3: it's for you, all right. The real reason I wrote
- 53:05Speaker 3: the sins of the father are to be laid upon
- 53:08Speaker 3: the children is a quote from the Merchant of Venice.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Is that why the broader NFL media keep picking against
- 53:13Speaker 3: the Patriots, keep questioning how good they are, keep questioning
- 53:17Speaker 3: their victories. This is a really humble, awesome and lovable
- 53:21Speaker 3: group from head coach to the players. So my hope
- 53:24Speaker 3: is they could stop having to carry the burden of
- 53:26Speaker 3: the sins slash winning from the dynasty days and can
- 53:30Speaker 3: be appreciated.
- 53:31Speaker 2: For who they are here here, just to like set
- 53:35Speaker 2: the record straight, everybody picked the Patriots against the Chargers.
- 53:39Speaker 2: There was a handful of people who pick Houston, but
- 53:43Speaker 2: like literally they had like handful dozens of people, But
- 53:47Speaker 2: the people on NFL live.
- 53:50Speaker 8: Correct.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Almost everybody else is on the Patriots and that get
- 53:52Speaker 4: now listen. I think it's great that we used it,
- 53:55Speaker 4: like we should be using your stuff like we had
- 53:58Speaker 4: it on the on our post game show.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Yeah, right away we had the whole graphic and it
- 54:03Speaker 2: was funny, like the all five of them, I'll pick
- 54:05Speaker 2: Houston and then you kind of get a little peek
- 54:08Speaker 2: inside of it when they start talking about it and
- 54:10Speaker 2: they're like, we didn't. I kind of thought I was
- 54:11Speaker 2: gonna be the only one to take you. So they
- 54:13Speaker 2: don't even pick what they can now I know it's
- 54:16Speaker 2: like they picked just to try to like what you think.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Have those picks come out yet from the described.
- 54:25Speaker 4: I don't know, but hopefully there's a few that picked
- 54:27Speaker 4: Denver so the Patriots can win.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I will bet you that there will be some picking
- 54:34Speaker 2: Denver just to be like, you know, look at me and.
- 54:38Speaker 4: I just say like, yeah, the whole picking thing bugs me,
- 54:43Speaker 4: Like I don't mean, I don't mean the fact that
- 54:48Speaker 4: people pick it, the.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Fact that like people give credence to it, well they
- 54:53Speaker 2: get mad at it, like yeah.
- 54:55Speaker 6: Man, so we're tribal creatures.
- 54:59Speaker 2: So yeah, you don't respect us. But that's not hate.
- 55:04Speaker 4: Like when if you think one team might win a game,
- 55:08Speaker 4: like that's not like a referendum on what you think
- 55:10Speaker 4: of that team, do you know what I mean?
- 55:12Speaker 2: Like maybe maybe it is okay.
- 55:14Speaker 3: You know, it is a referendum if if you pick
- 55:17Speaker 3: against the other team, you think the other team's better.
- 55:19Speaker 7: I don't think if one or two people picked Houston
- 55:21Speaker 7: first last week it would be a big deal to
- 55:24Speaker 7: the fact that everyone did, like it was just.
- 55:26Speaker 2: I don't think everyone did. I think everyone in NFL
- 55:28Speaker 2: Live did well.
- 55:29Speaker 6: They put their name to it. That's but my point is.
- 55:32Speaker 2: That doesn't mean that like they don't think the Patriots
- 55:34Speaker 2: are any good.
- 55:35Speaker 4: Maybe they thought Houston was really good and they thought
- 55:38Speaker 4: pick that Houston was going to win the game. Like
- 55:40Speaker 4: it This is like the Sins of the Father. You know,
- 55:43Speaker 4: this is not hatred from the Patriots right now. It's
- 55:46Speaker 4: kind of a love fest for the Patriots.
- 55:48Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 55:50Speaker 4: The ESPN people can't stop gushing about Drake May and
- 55:53Speaker 4: Mike grayble Now.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Listen, I know that if with Patriots do go to
- 55:56Speaker 3: the Super Bowl, whoever they play, oh those teams, probably
- 56:00Speaker 3: either one of those teams will be favored over the Patriots.
- 56:03Speaker 3: But I know that there's a large population in this
- 56:06Speaker 3: country that don't want to see the Patriots win another
- 56:09Speaker 3: Super Bowl.
- 56:12Speaker 2: And that's just I just really haven't seen it. Now
- 56:18Speaker 2: if the.
- 56:19Speaker 6: Graphics people are making where it's like the whole Patriots.
- 56:22Speaker 4: Fans doing it, Yeah, like I see, I see Patriots
- 56:24Speaker 4: fans accentury accentuating stuff that really, in my opinion, doesn't exist.
- 56:28Speaker 4: I don't think people hate Kansas City outside of New
- 56:31Speaker 4: England like they're talking about, like everybody wanted to see
- 56:35Speaker 4: someone other.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Than Kansas City City didn't have the success of the Patriots.
- 56:39Speaker 4: If Drake May does this for ten years, two three
- 56:43Speaker 4: years in yes, you're going to get the same kind
- 56:45Speaker 4: of hatred. Oh I'm tired of this team. They're always
- 56:47Speaker 4: here right now. It's I think it's an extreet I'm
- 56:51Speaker 4: with Alex.
- 56:51Speaker 6: I think it's a friendship.
- 56:54Speaker 2: I think Rabel present me Drake May. I think Rabel
- 56:57Speaker 2: presents well.
- 56:58Speaker 4: Whereas the former Code get up there and just bitched
- 57:02Speaker 4: about everything all the time and grumbled and mumbled at
- 57:05Speaker 4: all the questions. It was completely like just rude to everybody,
- 57:10Speaker 4: and that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
- 57:12Speaker 6: I think Chrisma just alpha guys.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Guy, he's kind of a good guy. And I don't
- 57:19Speaker 2: think they got the same kind of vitriol they did,
- 57:21Speaker 2: Like Philadelphia does get that, you know why because Syrian
- 57:25Speaker 2: he's kind of a dick and and they have like
- 57:27Speaker 2: the whole security guy there that that's like whiter than life.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Why does anybody even know this guy?
- 57:32Speaker 3: I think what hurts you know, I heard what hurts
- 57:34Speaker 3: the Eagles as well as their fans. Yeh, No, we're
- 57:40Speaker 3: not violent.
- 57:41Speaker 6: No, people don't like you know, we have cousins, cousins,
- 57:46Speaker 6: but we have.
- 57:48Speaker 3: An inferior I'm not talking about violence now, we have
- 57:50Speaker 3: an inferiority complex.
- 57:52Speaker 2: We're very sensitive that way. But we really we don't like.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Throw stuff that you know, we're not We're not violent.
- 58:00Speaker 3: We're not violent.
- 58:01Speaker 2: We're not.
- 58:02Speaker 7: That's that's Philly like is they did like vikings fans
- 58:05Speaker 7: that Super Bowl like throwing rocks at Grandma's and stuff.
- 58:09Speaker 2: I agree, like, you know, we're not throwing snowballs at
- 58:13Speaker 2: Santa Claus.
- 58:13Speaker 3: We're very sensitive England because but don't but.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Don't pick against the Patriots and expect not to hear
- 58:18Speaker 2: about it from every one of.
- 58:20Speaker 3: Them because We're very sensitive. We're very sensitive.
- 58:23Speaker 2: I like that's why people nationally Okay, I don't like it.
- 58:27Speaker 3: I hear that, I hear it, but but at least
- 58:30Speaker 3: we don't we're not violent. James the most interesting caller
- 58:33Speaker 3: in the world.
- 58:34Speaker 2: What's up? Uh?
- 58:37Speaker 20: A couple of points before I start calling you a
- 58:39Speaker 20: frul Fred, because you are a fool, so thoughts and
- 58:45Speaker 20: solidarities of Mike. So I'm trying to put through. Secondly,
- 58:48Speaker 20: spirit of trivia. I've never heard like strong, relatively well traveled,
- 58:52Speaker 20: so I'm going to be easing spirit of trivia if
- 58:55Speaker 20: that works.
- 58:58Speaker 21: So the reason I think you're a fraud.
- 59:00Speaker 20: Is I got a question for you, Fred, would you
- 59:02Speaker 20: be more or less worried if Mac Jones was playing
- 59:06Speaker 20: quarterback for the Broncos.
- 59:08Speaker 3: I'd probably be as worried as I am right now.
- 59:11Speaker 3: I don't think Matt's that.
- 59:12Speaker 20: Good, and I refuse to believe. Do you realize the
- 59:16Speaker 20: difference in see, you probably don't know what mac Jones's
- 59:20Speaker 20: record is this year, but the fact that you will
- 59:22Speaker 20: think that mac Jones is the same level as Jerbs
- 59:25Speaker 20: didn't It makes me insat anyway. So I'll try and
- 59:28Speaker 20: calm down about it, but the only way we lose.
- 59:31Speaker 3: But you're missing my point. You're missing my point, James,
- 59:35Speaker 3: Now now listen, you're missing my point. I'm not worried
- 59:38Speaker 3: because of Jared's Stidham. I'm worried because the Denver is
- 59:41Speaker 3: a good team with a good coach.
- 59:43Speaker 20: Listen to Fred. Listen, Fred, Josh McDaniels and Mike Rabel
- 59:49Speaker 20: will not let Drake May throw three pick sixes, which
- 59:53Speaker 20: is the only way we lose this game.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Did they let them last? I mean they have, you know,
- 59:58Speaker 2: some control over that, but not total control.
- 1:00:02Speaker 22: But this is what it's going to take.
- 1:00:03Speaker 20: It's going to take three schools from their defense, and
- 1:00:06Speaker 20: the pick six is different from just a pick.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Listen.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: I hope you're right. I hope you're right that.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Well.
- 1:00:13Speaker 20: I mean, Jared Stidham is not a comparable quarterback. I
- 1:00:17Speaker 20: understand that the dender do have a good defense, but
- 1:00:21Speaker 20: we have a good coach too. We can manage that.
- 1:00:24Speaker 20: We've proved that we can win ugly and win ugly
- 1:00:28Speaker 20: ugly ugly. I mean, that's what we've done so far.
- 1:00:31Speaker 20: And I'm not worried about Jared Stidham. You know, Jared's
- 1:00:34Speaker 20: Sidham is going to give us opportunities to score on.
- 1:00:36Speaker 11: Our defense or are moving on Fred?
- 1:00:38Speaker 20: I deep down there, you don't believe.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: But see James, I'm not worried about jared' Stidham either.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: I'm not worried about Jared Stidham. I'm worried about everything else.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: So how do they score? If the quarterback isn't anything
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: to worry about.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: They may not score a lot of points, but they
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: may keep us from scoring points too, And then you
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: have to play that, and then it comes down to
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: a bad ref call or turnover, a fluky play.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: I don't want it to be close. I don't want
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: to be entertained that way.
- 1:01:07Speaker 20: Great, listen, I guarantee you when Fred's gonna go. Patriots
- 1:01:13Speaker 20: forty seven, Last one for Mike get home, Last one
- 1:01:22Speaker 20: for Mike get home. I think I've found the official
- 1:01:25Speaker 20: bar for the Patriots in Belize. Of all people, bradmil
- 1:01:29Speaker 20: Shan's cousin was running a bar here and he's decided
- 1:01:32Speaker 20: to set up his own bar. So when he comes
- 1:01:35Speaker 20: down he may have to be opening a bar. And
- 1:01:37Speaker 20: secondly he's trying to get a stop on the Belizean
- 1:01:41Speaker 20: professional pull circuit. It's very Dodgy, but I said, I
- 1:01:45Speaker 20: donated trophy so we can give to the Fred Kirsh
- 1:01:48Speaker 20: Cup or the Fredkerch Trophy to the winner of the
- 1:01:51Speaker 20: Belizean Thing. So that's for an off season. We're definitely
- 1:01:54Speaker 20: going to win this game, No way we lose it.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: All right, Thanks James adcast.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Can I just tell you that's like the most football
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: centric call that James has ever No, I riled them up.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: I did, But again, I'm not worried about jared'st Diidham,
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: worried about the rest of their team, which I think
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: is pretty good. Tommy's in Los Angeles. What's up, Tommy.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: Tommy's been holding on Tommy. I forget the question now, Tommy.
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: I remember the question.
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: It was about how we play them defensively, has good
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: receivers if I remember.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Long shots about long shots, I just.
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: Remember hit him calling and me thinking, I like our secondary.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: I don't know exactly how they'll come about it.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Early.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: I think Evan and Mike think they're going to be
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: aggressive and going after Stidham. I kind of think you
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: should sit back and make him prove that he can
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: pick you apart first before you expose yourself. Heard from
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: a guy yesterday in Denver who has respect for the
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Broncos offensive line but thinks it might be a tad overrated.
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: So maybe I'm giving too much respect to that offensive line.
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: Maybe you should just go after it and prove and
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: make them prove that they can block it up. But
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: my feeling is you you confused them a little bit.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: And how can he not get confused? He hasn't seen
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: this stuff.
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: And that's what they've been doing. Like this guy's name.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: They confused Herbert Coverages Androud, you know.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: So, yeah, I get that fair enough. One more email
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: and then we're going to take a break. Marty and Reno,
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: formerly in Denver, says quick correction. Fred the bar in
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Denver is Jackson Loto for lower Downtown, not whatever malapropism
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: propism you've been using.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: I do like sagsto righte. It was cute, Okay, all right,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: I was I was young when that came out. We're
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: not even thought of.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: All right, we're gonna take a break when we come back.

- 1:05:55Speaker 13: This has been quite the rookie year for you, I
- 1:05:57Speaker 13: mean an AFC Championship game as a rookie.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Just how excited are you to take on the Denver
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Broncos on Sunday?
- 1:06:03Speaker 19: Yeah, you know, just like you said, super excited, super blessed.
- 1:06:06Speaker 19: You know, talking to the older guys, you know, just
- 1:06:07Speaker 19: not taking it for granted, right. You know some of
- 1:06:09Speaker 19: the guys in the room that I have only been
- 1:06:11Speaker 19: to the three AFTY Championships in their career and coaches
- 1:06:14Speaker 19: wise too, you know, with Josh Mcamial's we got a
- 1:06:17Speaker 19: lot of history going to AFTY Championships. But man, I'm
- 1:06:20Speaker 19: definitely not taking for granted. Super excited, super ready to go.
- 1:06:23Speaker 13: So today was their first practice obviously of the week,
- 1:06:25Speaker 13: getting ready for Denver.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Just what were the vibes?
- 1:06:27Speaker 11: What was it like?
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Yeah, great vibes.
- 1:06:30Speaker 19: You know, she's always just nice to get back out
- 1:06:31Speaker 19: there and get going with the guys again. But you know,
- 1:06:34Speaker 19: trying to do everything we can just to get ready
- 1:06:36Speaker 19: to go.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Now, I know you don't dress like this around the building,
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: so you just came from practice.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: You were indoors today.
- 1:06:42Speaker 19: Indoors today, you know, kept us a little warm. You know,
- 1:06:45Speaker 19: it got a lot of mental reps in there. Got
- 1:06:47Speaker 19: to get going a little bit. But are you working
- 1:06:49Speaker 19: on loud?
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: A lot of sound?
- 1:06:51Speaker 19: You already know, you already know there's speakers going everywhere loud,
- 1:06:54Speaker 19: you know, preparing for that because you know last cool
- 1:06:57Speaker 19: weeks even blessed to play at home and had the
- 1:06:58Speaker 19: great crowd here.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: But yeah, definitely preparing for some noise there. Evin mentioned vibes.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: With the AFC Championship coming up, do you notice anything
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: different or is it just business as usual?
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:07:10Speaker 19: I think you know everyone's excited for the AFC Championship, right,
- 1:07:13Speaker 19: you know, but also trying to not to look too
- 1:07:15Speaker 19: far ahead and you know, focus on you know, it's
- 1:07:17Speaker 19: a football game at the end of.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: The day and you know it's winner and go home.
- 1:07:19Speaker 19: So just kind of bring a positive vies, but also
- 1:07:22Speaker 19: bringing those focused vibes, you know, to make sure that
- 1:07:24Speaker 19: you know we're ready to go on Sunday.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:27Speaker 13: I wanted to ask you about the drive in the
- 1:07:29Speaker 13: fourth quarter last week where you guys ran the ball
- 1:07:31Speaker 13: off your own goal line and.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Through a couple of good blocks in there. I saw,
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: and that was good to see.
- 1:07:36Speaker 13: Just what's that like to you know, get that those
- 1:07:39Speaker 13: calls in the huddle, knowing you guys are just going
- 1:07:41Speaker 13: to try to run the ball and being able to
- 1:07:42Speaker 13: come through.
- 1:07:43Speaker 19: Yeah, it's awesome, you know, especially for me, Like I
- 1:07:45Speaker 19: love blocking. I love anytime I get to, you know,
- 1:07:47Speaker 19: get out there on that field, and you know, I
- 1:07:49Speaker 19: think blocking has helped me get out there, you know,
- 1:07:51Speaker 19: kind of earn a roll a little bit. But so
- 1:07:53Speaker 19: I take pride in that. And you know, me and
- 1:07:54Speaker 19: Booty were laughing about it kind of in the hole
- 1:07:56Speaker 19: during the game. You're like, you already know what play
- 1:07:58Speaker 19: is coming, so we line it up just kind of
- 1:08:00Speaker 19: knowing that, you know, we got to get some yards
- 1:08:02Speaker 19: to run this clock down and win this game.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: You got Petrio on one of them.
- 1:08:06Speaker 13: He tried to come through get a tackle for loss
- 1:08:08Speaker 13: and you got him, reminder, danced around him. Just take
- 1:08:11Speaker 13: me through that play because it seemed like he blitzed
- 1:08:13Speaker 13: at the very last second.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, he's a great player.
- 1:08:16Speaker 19: You know, we kind of knew going into a week
- 1:08:18Speaker 19: that he was going to try to do some of that,
- 1:08:20Speaker 19: and he actually got me like three plays earlier on
- 1:08:22Speaker 19: that almost the same play, and you know, I'm glad
- 1:08:26Speaker 19: we came back to and I.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Hit him there and Remondre, you know, made a play.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: How much has Mac Collins helped you in the blocking game?
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:08:34Speaker 19: Huge, you know, especially just getting to watch him the
- 1:08:36Speaker 19: first couple of weeks and how he did it, his
- 1:08:39Speaker 19: mentality going into it about like man, just don't let
- 1:08:42Speaker 19: my guy make the play in the ball carrier. Continue
- 1:08:45Speaker 19: to finish the effort. It's always there, you know, it's
- 1:08:47Speaker 19: on the tape, you can see it. And then when
- 1:08:49Speaker 19: he when he got hurt. Just getting the opportunity to
- 1:08:51Speaker 19: sit down and watch clips of me doing it now
- 1:08:54Speaker 19: and he's coaching me up, you know, after practice.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Stuff like that.
- 1:08:57Speaker 19: So that was super helpful. You know, he's been there
- 1:09:00Speaker 19: for me, you know, since I got here. But yeah,
- 1:09:02Speaker 19: he's definitely he's a leader in the room and on
- 1:09:06Speaker 19: the team. And then his blocking is just tremendous. I
- 1:09:08Speaker 19: love watching it.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, you.
- 1:09:10Speaker 13: Guys have been pretty close and kind of followed his
- 1:09:13Speaker 13: lead a little bit. How has that continued since he's
- 1:09:16Speaker 13: you know, obviously been on injured reserve, Like you're still
- 1:09:18Speaker 13: doing the same routine that, yeah, you doing and everything.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we're still sticking to it.
- 1:09:23Speaker 19: Definitely, his routine changes a little bit with trying to
- 1:09:25Speaker 19: trying to get healthy, trying to get right, trying to
- 1:09:28Speaker 19: get back for us.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: But you know, we're still watching. He's running the meetings.
- 1:09:31Speaker 19: You know, we're watching the post post game meetings with him.
- 1:09:34Speaker 19: You know, he's always got great coaching points for all
- 1:09:37Speaker 19: of us, top down, and you know, it's just it's
- 1:09:40Speaker 19: cool when you got vets in the room that hold
- 1:09:42Speaker 19: everyone accountable, not just the younger guys, you know. So
- 1:09:45Speaker 19: he's holding Steph as accountable just as much as me.
- 1:09:48Speaker 19: So it's pretty special.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: So It seems to me like every time you're called
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: upon you make the play, how do you keep that
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: your mind ready to go, you know, with the limited opportunities,
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: but when you get at it, you put you execute.
- 1:10:02Speaker 19: Yeah, you know, Coach Rabes, Coach Rabel always talks about,
- 1:10:06Speaker 19: you know, preparing as a starter. You know, I really
- 1:10:09Speaker 19: take that, take that to heart and try to do
- 1:10:11Speaker 19: everything can throughout the week. Even early on the season
- 1:10:13Speaker 19: when I wasn't playing as much, you know, I was
- 1:10:16Speaker 19: trying to know the game plan inside out so if
- 1:10:18Speaker 19: something did happen. You know, we talked about our in
- 1:10:21Speaker 19: our room being a shoelace guy, so if someone needs
- 1:10:22Speaker 19: the shoelace or something, just plug and play getting there
- 1:10:25Speaker 19: and you know, take advantage of the opportunity. So I
- 1:10:27Speaker 19: just felt like I try to do that each and
- 1:10:29Speaker 19: every day, and every practice is it's a new practice,
- 1:10:32Speaker 19: you know, so just trying to take advantage of those
- 1:10:33Speaker 19: opportunities like.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: That last one.
- 1:10:35Speaker 13: For me, I watched you pregame a lot with Tommy
- 1:10:38Speaker 13: and you guys go out there and throw and you
- 1:10:40Speaker 13: also do this thing with tennis balls with some of
- 1:10:42Speaker 13: the other receivers. Just how did that kind of start
- 1:10:45Speaker 13: and what does that kind of help you guys with So.
- 1:10:48Speaker 19: Like going out there with Tommy, I just kind of
- 1:10:50Speaker 19: like seeing, like you know, how it looks in the sky,
- 1:10:53Speaker 19: just with the different lights, night games, stuff like this,
- 1:10:56Speaker 19: kind of getting used to the atmosphere that way. And
- 1:10:58Speaker 19: then the tennis balls. I don't even know how it started.
- 1:11:01Speaker 19: Just one day pre game, I think uh coach TD
- 1:11:05Speaker 19: had on movers like started throwing around and turn into
- 1:11:08Speaker 19: a game. And now all of a sudden we do
- 1:11:09Speaker 19: it every game.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: So I saw somebody throwing rugby balls out.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Josh Jobs.
- 1:11:14Speaker 19: I'm not sure if the other quarterbacks too, but I
- 1:11:15Speaker 19: know Josh Dobbs, he likes formed out.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: I guess if you can grip a rugby ball, you
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: can grip a football.
- 1:11:20Speaker 13: Right, You guys get pretty into the tennis ball game.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: But we get into it.
- 1:11:24Speaker 19: We get into it because you know, there's you only
- 1:11:26Speaker 19: get like three or four minutes doing it, so we're
- 1:11:28Speaker 19: trying to compete and win a little bit.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Well, thanks for coming by, We really appreciate it.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Thanks good luck on some thanks for having me all right.

- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Now that's now that that's bad.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's even even I would say, But I don't
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: get mad.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: That's that must be an awful smell. Is horrible when
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: he does it. It's always the guy that burns the
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: leaves too, and it's up. I don't mind leaving, but
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: it ends up with like a blaze and the ashes
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: are coming into my yard. Though when he's doing well,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: you're not supposed to burn leaves.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: You can burn brush and stuff, but not leaves, you know,
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: but people burn, I know, they burn everything.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: I got a guy across the street, it's dope smokers.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: He's got he's got his main driving his paved but
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: then he's got this back road which is all dirt,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: and he could. He keeps putting down woodships and every
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: time it rains, the wood ships just drain right out
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: into the street.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: He doesn't get it. It's like, it's not gonna work.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: How many times you gotta do this?
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: He keeps doing it.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: It keeps just running right out.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: Just keep it dirt or painting something sounds like but
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: ali like first time, first time you look at it, Oh,
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: that didn't work, and you don't do it again.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: He keeps doing it. That's another great moment.

- 1:13:48Speaker 13: Sure?
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: Yeah, a little nervous this week though why I don't know.
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: I don't want to have too much fun with it.
- 1:13:53Speaker 7: I don't want it to look like we're like looking
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: past Denver.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Oh right, you know what I mean, Like, so don't
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: don't look past Denver. We're not We're not, all right,
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: I am, Yeah, I a little bit. Paul would have
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: the Lombardes on it and everything.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: No, I wouldn't do. I wouldn't put that.
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: I would be like, ask you guys, what you're looking
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: forward to most for the super Bowl?
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: We can wait. We can wait a week for that.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: All right, back to the emails and the phone calls. Uh,
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: let's get back.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: To the hotline. It's I think is that BJ. I
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: can't see that from Zona in Zona? What's up? BJ?
- 1:14:33Speaker 21: What's up?
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Everyone doing? All right?
- 1:14:36Speaker 16: Okay, so Fred, I get exactly what you're saying. And
- 1:14:40Speaker 16: the people in the YouTube chat are staying the same thing,
- 1:14:44Speaker 16: like it's not more so about stidim, it's about like
- 1:14:47Speaker 16: the fact that they do have other players. But I
- 1:14:50Speaker 16: also will say I gotta agree with Paul, like if
- 1:14:53Speaker 16: we lose this game, something's up, like something had like
- 1:14:56Speaker 16: like Paul likes to say a little smelly look.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Oh oh, I don't think it's smelling. I think it's choky. Yeah,
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: that too.
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: There could be a choke, Yes, sir, for sure.
- 1:15:08Speaker 16: But their defense is good, all that good stuff. But
- 1:15:11Speaker 16: we just got to protect Drake May and play our
- 1:15:13Speaker 16: brand of football and I don't think we'll have a
- 1:15:15Speaker 16: reason to losing, honestly. Okay, have a great day and
- 1:15:19Speaker 16: I'm taking it up there with that.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: All right, thanks, j all right, I listen.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: I hope you guys are right, and I think again,
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: I think we're gonna win, but it's not going to
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: be easy. Raheem is in Georgia.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: What's up? Raheem? Raheem? Hey, guys, Hey, Hey, have y'all.
- 1:15:42Speaker 10: Have y'all seen this Sean Payton interview where he basically
- 1:15:45Speaker 10: guaranteed victory.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Well, I I if you're referring to the quote about
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: our fans will have two weeks to rest up after
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: the game. I've seen that in several places. Yeah, is
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: that what you're referring to, Raheem?
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's quite a stretch that that was a guaranteed victory.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Well kind of he's what say?
- 1:16:05Speaker 23: Yeah?
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: And what else?
- 1:16:06Speaker 8: Is it?
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: Exactly?
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: I saw it?
- 1:16:13Speaker 20: They got two weeks.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: I saw it because we need you this week. We
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: need you. You'll have plenty of time to rest. We
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: need you because he thinks they're gonna win. He didn't
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: say I guarantee we're gonna win.
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: Say those words, but that's the inference that we're gonna win.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: We'll have two weeks to rest. Yes, he didn't say
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: we're gonna have all off season to rest.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: No, he did not say, right, so we take it
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: as you will. I can't tell you how to take things.
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: You're going to have plenty of rest after this one.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: No one defends the other.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: I'm not defending them. I don't think they have a
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: chance in hell to win the game. If that's defending
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: the other team, then.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Sign me up.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: I mean, you know, like if a guy says something
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: I like, the Patriots have to play so poorly on
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: Sunday to lose this game.
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: Defensive collapse of epic proportion that we've never seen.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: I'm defending the Broncos so much I give them virtually
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: no chance to win. That how much I'm defending the Broncos.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: Anyway, I did see that raheem, I I uh, I
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: think it should be in every bulletin board in New England.
- 1:17:10Speaker 9: There you go, there you go, have a good one.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: All right, Thank you, you gave him what he wanted.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: That's all he needed.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: He needed the confirmation we should don't forget too strong.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: The T shirts, the T shirts made.
- 1:17:30Speaker 11: Link.
- 1:17:30Speaker 6: We'll have a link in the newsletter so you can
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: buy do strong merch.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: I may have well, we pipped him off there the
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: preview show too. We're gonna get We're gonna have pins made.
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: Proceeds will be donated, have to doce his medical bills,
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: the other half to Paul's car.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: In lieu of flowers. You can say, I don't know,
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: you know whatever, poor Jews Colin in Kansas City. It's
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: been a magical season. We started by doing something that's
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: historically been difficult for this friend, which I was winning
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: in Miami early in the year, even during the Brady era.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: Why not keep it going by doing something else that's
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: been tough. Winning in Denver in the postseason not tough,
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: impossible so far. Personally, I'm not worried about who we'd
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: face in the super Bowl. If you get there, you
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: always have a shot. We've seen firsthand that even teams
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: that look dominant all year can be beaten one anyone.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: Sometimes it just takes a couple of plays to swing
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: the game and send you on your way for this
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: game against Denver. I'm really hoping Drake plays a clean game,
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: and more than that, he carves up this Denver defense.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: I love the way our defense is playing, and if
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: we see Drake eliminate the turnovers and get back to
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: MVP form, I think we'd feel a lot differently about
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: this team heading into the Super Bowl and PS two.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: So you're having fun yet.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Not today, but listen, if all those things happen, Drake
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: plays a clean game, carves up the Denver defense, we win.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: Walking away going to Santa Clara, you know, so let's hope.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: So Dilan in South Florida. In AFC title games, travel
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: in the event of a trip to the Super Bowl,
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: how is the travel for you guys and other media,
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: same plane as a team and staffords or other means. Well,
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: for this particular game, some of us had to fly
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: commercial on the way back because there's more people on
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: the plane than usually. But usually, you know, are people
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: that come with me. We travel with the team on
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: every game.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: What about the super Bowl with it just being like
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: super Bowl is a little bit different, like Germany, A
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: couple of people on commercial.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, super Bowl those who usually travel during the season
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: will probably be on the team plane. But I'm going
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: to go out early even for the team to set
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: things up so everybody is ready to go when they
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: get there.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: So's there's a lot of different planes on the way back,
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: so you just sort of go with they like, I
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: assume that we don't have to fight Marshall back.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Right, we have like four or five charters because we
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: bring down guests and that's usually the way on the
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: way back.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: It's like evacuating the Vietnam and.
- 1:20:08Speaker 6: I haven't, Yeah, I haven't.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: But yeah, generally there's a lot of different planes that
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: come back, and you'll be informed, Okay, you need to
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: be here at such and such a time so you
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: can go through security and do all that stuff.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: So let's see, David and Maryland got to ask. I'll
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: be that guy that asked the question, if the Patriots
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: lose to the Broncos, is the season still a success?
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: Yes? Yes, it is? God, how can it not be?
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: Come on, there's a and this is a common question.
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: He's like, he's not out speaking out of school there.
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: I think there's a huge difference between disappointment and success, right, Yeah,
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: I mean I'll be And again I don't tell anyone
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: how to feel, but in my view, I would be
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: terribly disappointed. But I would also look at the big
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: picture and say, that was a really, really successful well
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: season and the arrow is pointing straight up right.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Isn't that the way to look at it?
- 1:21:06Speaker 6: In New York it would suck for a couple of
- 1:21:07Speaker 6: days though.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Oh no, And I'm not telling you get over it.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: That was helped. Now it'd be really I mean until
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: you get what, like.
- 1:21:15Speaker 7: When the season ends, I'm going to go on vacation,
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: and then when I get there, I'll be like, you
- 1:21:18Speaker 7: know what, Like I was sad, but this is nice.
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: I'm on a beach and this was a good season.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: I thought we had a Florida trip.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: I didn't know about Andrew and Coronado, California.
- 1:21:28Speaker 6: See Grandma.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: We know we're back.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: Because, as Paul used to say, it always works out
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: for the Patriots, we had the easiest schedule in the
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: history of the universe. Two of the perennial favorites didn't
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: make the playoffs. The two playoff quarterbacks we face decided
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: they didn't want to play football anymore.
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: Nick's got hurt and then the super.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: Bowl will likely face one of the biggest choke artists
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: of this generation in Darnold. The national media will say
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: it might be the easiest road to the super Bowl ever,
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: and they'll be right. And I couldn't possibly care less
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: LFG and go pats Fred double checked my punctuation.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: What an email toured? The force of an email?
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: There you go, you just hit all your your favorite lines.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: But but I love the part and like and who cares?
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: Give me the banner right? You know, mister Kraft? Where
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: does the banner go? Right next to those?
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: We do?
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: We expand it like? That's that's if as a Patriots
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: fan who cares?
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: Christian Christopher t I a a n Rights and Paul
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: using Bianki's pizza weather guy is so Paul, is he
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: a pizza guy?
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: No, he's that he was an actual's pizza's famous down
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: Revere peach.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Oh is it?
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I said. I didn't get that.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: That's what I was.
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: Assuming he was referring. I didn't get.
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: But it wasn't an actual meteorologist that guy Channel nine,
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: I guess in Denver. Yeah, I don't know if he's
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: the forecast is right, But that's it wasn't like it
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: wasn't some guy, you know, holding a compass out his windows.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: Seems like, well, it could have.
- 1:22:54Speaker 7: Been some random guy that actually studied this stuff, watched
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: YouTube videos, taught himself meteorology.
- 1:23:02Speaker 6: Let's see fifteen degrees that kick off.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they're talking about it getting colder and.
- 1:23:07Speaker 6: Colder, freaking cold high a twenty, which I.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Don't ye by the way, I don't like that. For
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: the Patriots. My freaking gas bill for last month was
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: out of it's insane.
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: I got a pellet stovee I'm done.
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: I'm so pissed, like we're getting screwed. We are getting screwed.
- 1:23:28Speaker 6: A pellet stove.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Get a pellet stove.
- 1:23:30Speaker 6: Amazing. Yeah, so cheap.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: You knew she'd know.
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: Something like, oh listen some outside I'm listening listening.
- 1:23:39Speaker 6: Cost me like six bucks a bag.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: How many bags in you?
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: Uh, one gets me through like a day and a half.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: So like, so let's say six bucks a day. Yeah,
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: so six times thirty.
- 1:23:55Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: I used to I would do a palette. I would
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: buy the palette of the bags at the start of
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: the season. The palate would last a season. Yeah, but
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: how big a house?
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: How many square feet.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: It's a good question. I don't really you can't heed
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: Fred's mansion.
- 1:24:11Speaker 6: It's just hitting my unit two a thousand square feet.
- 1:24:18Speaker 6: Oh my god. That's a good out of context line.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: That's not out of context.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: I honestly don't know whether I should be more frustrated
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: or cautiously optimistic about our offense after this game. On
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: the other hand, it's pretty just depressing that the Patriots
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: offense scored zero points off turnovers. On the other hand,
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: putting up twenty one points a normal offensive drives against
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: that Texans defense is definitely something. Regarding Paul's point from Sunday,
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: he mentioned that the difference in the game was that
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: the Patriots scored a TD off a turnover the Texas didn't.
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: No, it's not what I said, but go ahead.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: Well he said, that's not correct, But looking at it
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: more closely, New England and Houston actually scored the same
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: number of points off turnovers. Houston's only TD came off
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: the May fumble, and the Patriots had to pick six.
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: What I'm saying is the Texans had an opportunity to
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: pick up a fumble inside the ten yard line and
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: score a touchdown, and they didn't do it. That was
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: the difference in the game. That's the point that Mike
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: and I were trying to make in the post game show. Yep,
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: and when points off of turnovers aren't necessarily the same,
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: the Patriots had way more opportunities even though they didn't
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: score directly off of the possession that followed a turnover.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: They got all of those extra possessions. They had six
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: three and outs. If they don't get those extra possessions,
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: maybe they only scored seven points. But they just kept
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: getting the ball back, so sooner or later, you're going
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: to score.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: And look what you know. The remarkable individual efforts that
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: it took to score remarkable. No, I'm serious. The Dicks
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: catching the booty catcher not every day.
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: Place where it contested catches.
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: They're not every day plays like those were remarkable individuals.
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: Even the popcatch, I mean it looked was tougher than
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: people think.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: Jeff and Canada, the media talking out of both sides
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: of their mouths is driving me crazy. I believe this
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: Sunday in Denver will be a battle. It's a winnable game,
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: but no, lock, I hate the narrative that it would
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: be a horrendous loss for the Patriots due to the
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: backup quarterback. Some people said all year Nix is not
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: the reason for the Broncos success, but suddenly it's like
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: they lost Joe Montana. Also, because how can that be
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: if we're four and thirteen team who are only here
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: because we didn't play any good teams by that standard,
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: the charges and the detection should be embarrassed to.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: Have lost to us. Well, that's a little bit of
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: a stretch.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: Caught up, caught a bit of the Bills presser today. Man,
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: that franchise is a bit of a dumpster file fire
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: being carried by Alan. He might pull Stafford and get out.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: I don't rule that out.
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: That's a good point, that last part, don't really Yeah,
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: I agree with you on the rest of it, but yeah,
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: when you have that kind of just.
- 1:27:01Speaker 6: Your coach too.
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: And I just keep saying this, like the whole Pagola thing.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: So he made a big deal of.
- 1:27:10Speaker 4: It being a bad call, right, the whole play in overtime, right,
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: And then he says, why did he get fired because
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: they lost to Denver?
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: So what you're saying is because of a right, No,
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: it made no sense, and that's why he's not telling
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: the truth. No, of course not. He's not telling the truth.
- 1:27:29Speaker 4: People in Buffalo, My sources in Buffalo tell me that
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: McDermott knew he was gone. It was it was kind
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: of an ultimatum, like if they were either going to
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: make a Super Bowl run and he was out, it
- 1:27:39Speaker 4: didn't really matter, which to me was kind of obvious
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: after the game when he was as irate about the
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: call as he was to the point where he was
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: on the team plane flying home and he was calling
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: the writers to like and another thing, you know, like
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: I think he knew he was out.
- 1:27:55Speaker 6: I mean at that point, yeah, go scorched de Earth.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: Ye Listen, if you're an owner and you have to
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: fire a coach, there's no easy way to do it.
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: You just say, listen, it's all based on results. The
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: results weren't good enough.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: We had to move on.
- 1:28:08Speaker 6: Just own it the villain.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: That's it, as opposed to like.
- 1:28:11Speaker 6: Don't try to be like a man of the people.
- 1:28:13Speaker 6: You're not you never will be.
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: Steve Bushatti and Baltimore had this very you know, it's
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: actually even worse because the guy's been there longer and
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: had more success in John Harbaugh, and he was asked,
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: you know, if they made the kick, would he still
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: be here? And he said for another week like they had.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: You know, own it, you will you dead. You decided
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: to move on, No one's going to you know, it's
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: your it's your team.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: Just own it.
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: Just have conviction in your own decision.
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Qus in Atlanta, Hey, Q, not really, You're like you're underwater.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: You're talking into your pillow. Yeah, much better.
- 1:28:53Speaker 21: Hey, I just wanted to have a schedule talk real quick. Uh,
- 1:28:57Speaker 21: the Patriots after Sunday will have played every playoff team
- 1:29:01Speaker 21: this season except.
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: What, Well, they haven't played San Francisco, they haven't played
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: the Rams.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I don't know what does that mean the Jaguars.
- 1:29:16Speaker 21: The Jaguars are the only playoff team they haven't played
- 1:29:19Speaker 21: this season, okay. And the other two AFC teams that
- 1:29:22Speaker 21: they haven't played this season were the Chiefs and the Coats.
- 1:29:24Speaker 21: So I'm trying to figure out where does the easier
- 1:29:26Speaker 21: schedules start coming.
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: Well, if you have played the Colts earlier this season,
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: that has been a tough game.
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: So forget about the playoffs themselves. Is counting that that's
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: not your schedule? The playoffs are not your schedule. In
- 1:29:38Speaker 4: the regular season, the Patriots played four games against playoff teams.
- 1:29:44Speaker 23: But.
- 1:29:47Speaker 21: So who else are we supposed to play at this point.
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: In the AFC they only played three playoff teams. They
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: played Buffalo twice in Pittsburgh, right.
- 1:29:57Speaker 21: But the only other team.
- 1:29:58Speaker 4: Contrast that with Denver, who also had, by the way,
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: a very easy schedule, the third easiest schedule, only one
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: spot removed from the Patriots. They played six playoff teams
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: in the regular season. So, like, I don't know why
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: people can't just yeah, put this together. It's not you opinion.
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: Don't worry about the people saying it's an easy schedule.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: Don't worry about it. We beat every team except for
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: three that came our way, and that's all.
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: That's all that Patriots were two and two against playoff
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: teams in the regular season. They only played four games
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: against playoff teams. That's like, that's not an opinion, that's
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: a fact.
- 1:30:38Speaker 21: No, that's a fact. And the other two teams that
- 1:30:40Speaker 21: did beat us the regular season were the two teams
- 1:30:43Speaker 21: that we wanted in the playoffs. Was still in the
- 1:30:45Speaker 21: in the bill. So I don't think we have false confidence.
- 1:30:47Speaker 21: I think we have a good team.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Who's talking about false confidence?
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: Like what is everyone?
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: And yeah, so Cam Newton was still giving Cam Newton
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: creedence for.
- 1:30:59Speaker 6: Someone is because he's on the air talking about it.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: He was just.
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: No, there's a lot of people, a lot of people.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: I mean, they're diminishing the Patriots' success because they had
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: an easy.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: Voices in your heads. I don't know where it comes from.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: I mean didn't who was it?
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: Olavski one of those guys said they should be an
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: asterisk next to the Patriots name this season.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: I don't know one of the nations. I'm not telling
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: you that. No one said it. I don't see everything
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: like you guys do.
- 1:31:30Speaker 6: There with the easiest schedule, and that team never does.
- 1:31:34Speaker 6: With the Patriots, they always do.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: If you have an easy schedule, that's a great path
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: to the super Bowl.
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: That someone with the easiest schedule, historically easy schedule.
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: No one's ever had this schedule. This is the this
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: is the easiest schedule in the history of the league.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: Like that's another fact.
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: When's the last time? Other like the Commanders are a
- 1:31:54Speaker 6: good example, but they.
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: Did they have I don't know if they had an
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: easy schedule.
- 1:31:57Speaker 6: Schedule that year before.
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: There's that year, there's was it last year?
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: There have been teams like the the one Rams is uh,
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: I'm sorry. The ninety nine Rams had the second easiest
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: schedule in history. They won the Super Bowl. That's what
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: happens when you like it's a it's a huge advantage. Yeah,
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: but I don't I don't.
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: Really see you guys.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Everybody says the Patriots stink and they're only a product
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: of the schedule. I haven't seen that personally, but you
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: guys might be right. You got especially Alex is much
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: more in tune with what's going on on the social
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: channels and whatnot.
- 1:32:29Speaker 6: Like I don't see my girlfriends too, are like, what
- 1:32:32Speaker 6: explain this? Why is there? Why is everyone discrediting us
- 1:32:35Speaker 6: about the schedule. It's like my my random girlfriends who
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: couldn't care less.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: I mean, they did the same narrative Celtics that year,
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: and guess what, the Celtics.
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: The banner is hanging.
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: Ridiculous, But no one's going to make you give it back.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: I know, So why does it bother you?
- 1:32:49Speaker 6: It shouldn't.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: It shouldn't, That's what I'm saying. Cute, I lovely about
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: all that stuff. I don't. We'll see in San Francisco.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: I don't worry about any of that crap. Fun fact
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: from the account Qbami.
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: Since the AFL NFL merger, Hello, sorry, no indoor team
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: has ever won a conference championship game on the road
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: in an indoor in an outdoor stadium own fifteen all time.
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: The Rams are looking to become the first to do
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: so on Sunday. Technically, Rams are not an indoor stadium.
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: It's an outdoor stadium. Three quarters of it is underground, right,
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: but there are no walls and the roof is fabric.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: It's not so it's considered an outdoor stadium. I know
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: the weather's always nice, so it's kind of like it,
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: but it's not. It's considered an outdoor stadium. So I
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: don't know if it would go into that if they
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: end up winning. I don't know if it becomes one
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: in fifteen, I'm not sure, but I know for a
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: fact it's not concerned.
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: I mean, those numbers speak of themselves.
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: The the dome teams when they go outside, especially in
- 1:33:49Speaker 4: cold weather, do not fare well.
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: They don't.
- 1:33:52Speaker 4: Yeah, no, they don't, which is one of the That's
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: another thing going back to what Robert Kraft when he
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: was on with Beatle and Zoe the other day. It's
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: one of the things he said, I don't want I
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: don't have any interest in the Dome. The Dome teams
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: don't do well outside, and at this time of year.
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: THEO rites in as we as a whole should largely
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: just ignore what the national media has to say and
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: move on with our lives. I saw a clip of
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: a show from before this week, and the guy picked
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: Houston because the Patriot's bread and butter is running the
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: ball and they wouldn't be able to do it against Houston. Sure,
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: Remandre has been good down the stretch, but if you
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: watch the Patriots game the season, you know that their
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: bread and butter has been X plays through the air
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: and Drake may playing like an MVP. At the end
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: of the day, it doesn't matter what they have to
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: say because it just isn't important.
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: Another great email.
- 1:34:43Speaker 6: That's how I feel.
- 1:34:44Speaker 7: Why would you give credence into the national people who
- 1:34:46Speaker 7: aren't here every single day. They're just picking up tidbits
- 1:34:50Speaker 7: here and there and are forming opinions based on what
- 1:34:53Speaker 7: other people are saying.
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: Their parent to Tom Brady, yeah, I was here.
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: I've seen that too. I've even seen you see what.
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: I'll stop it, Paul.
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: Do you don't think something happened in twenty twenty like
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: he was? You don't think he was ever going to
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: be a star quarterback.
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: He was never air apparent to Tom Brady.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: I think this is we don't have to get into
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: a semantic argument. Well, that's what she said.
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: I think he was supposed to replace Tom Brady in
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: twenty twenty. Something happened in that ota. He went to
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: a wedding or something and fell out of favor with
- 1:35:27Speaker 4: Bill and they signed Cam Newton.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: But that was not the plan. Cam Newton playing that
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: year was not the plan. He wasn't the air apparent.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: That's so what is your definition of Ara If he's
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: the heir apparent?
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: He was going to a wedding, really change Bill's mind
- 1:35:43Speaker 6: at that?
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: I think that really gives me He's peek into the
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: window of just how incompetent Bill was at the end.
- 1:35:49Speaker 6: I don't know, or Bill just needed her. I really
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: like the kid.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Bill lost in and people don't want to admit it.
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: And we go back to some of the stuff that
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: our college have been taught talking about that brock Osweiler game.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: That's when everybody should have known.
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: When he's got a guy on the practice squad in
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: a snowstorm back returning a punt in the fourth quarter
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: with a fourteen point lead, that's how you ended up
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: runs in that game.
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: Christian in La, this isn't Christian in La. It's a
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: question for Christian in LA. It's from Brent.
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: He says, do you not Christian?
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: He says, do you not remember calling the team a
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: paper tiger a couple of months ago? I can't keep
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: up with your bipolar takes.
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: Can I ask a question that's kind of serious but
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: more like just wondering if I have definitions wrong? Is
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: there a difference between air a parent and replacement?
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: Yes? Okay, so then he maybe he wasn't the air apparent?
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: Air parent is like we're grooming you to take over.
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: I was the king and this is my as.
- 1:36:48Speaker 6: Like your son is your air apparent to the throne?
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: Like he's gonna be great. No, was Jimmy Garoppolo the
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: air parent or Brady? No? You don't think that Belichick
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: drafted him with the thought that he is going to
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: replace Brady? Well, I don't think so.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: Well maybe, but I think only Bill knows that.
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: But I can see your argument that there's a difference
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: between Garoppolo and in Stidham. Like Garoppolo air Apparent, Stidham
- 1:37:12Speaker 4: was going to replace him because he was the guy
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: that was left here when Brady left.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: I will I will say either one. I would say
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: Garoppol's I mean he was drafted in the second round.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: They obviously had high hopes for him.
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: Or Bill thought he was going to be the guy
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: that replaced Brady.
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: So I think I could make the argument that he
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: has not been air apparent wouldn't have been a good one.
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: I would agree with you guys.
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: Then I don't think Stidham was the air If there's
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: a difference between those two things, I don't think Stidham
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: was the air apparent.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Se Yeah, I'm not that stubborn. I mean, at the end,
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: he was just going to be the guy that replaced.
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: At the end of the day, Cam Newton ended up
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: being his replacement.
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: He was, but no one would argue that he was
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: the air parent.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: No, no.
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: Oh. That was such a crazy year between the COVID
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: and the Cam Newton. Also, thing Stidham got hurt in
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: that and that lead up. Yeah, it was something something
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: with his bag.
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: I don't think they were buying it though, but yeah,
- 1:38:12Speaker 4: I mean they certainly didn't like what they were seeing.
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: But I agree with you if if there's a difference
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: in those terms, then I would agree that he was
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: just the guy that was going to replace Brady, not
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: the necessarily the heir apparent.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Yep, let's see Sean and Freeland, Pennsylvania. I hate to
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: say it, but Denver is a house of horror since
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: I've been a fan seventy nine when Craig Morton was
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: a QB in an episode of Mork and Mindy was
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: filmed sunny day to start, then ended in a blizzard
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: literally forty five to ten. Who can forget the l
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: Way years? We know Fred can the Peyton Manning years.
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: No explanation needed. Even brock Osweiler had trouble, we had
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: trouble with and hey, who can forget Tebow?
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: Never mind we dominated him.
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: Point is, it won't be easy, but I think this
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: season is special and I see a thirty one to
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: twenty one win.
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: Okay, sounds good.
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: I vaguely remember that snowstorm forty five to ten game yep, vaguely.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: I couldn't tell you any details about it, though.
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: Is Evan coming back? Do we need to wait for him?
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: We only have we only have two. But we should
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: spend some time in recapping though, Yeah, sure should? Yeah
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: all right, so, but I but no, before we do
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: d Is Evan coming back? He said he was, said
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: he might.
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: Can you text him say, do we need to wait
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: for you to do picks or not?
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: No, we don't have to wait for him to do picks.
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: We always get his picks off the year. Anyway, I
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: know if he if he's going to be here, we
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: might as well give him two minutes. He could be
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: on his way. I don't know what time. Do you
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: say the locker room is closing, Alex?
- 1:39:48Speaker 6: Two o'clock?
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he'll just be staring locker right now.
- 1:39:53Speaker 7: Drake's standing ten to fifteen feet from Drake's locker with
- 1:39:57Speaker 7: probably Taylor and Alex. Maybe he's alone, but he's just
- 1:40:01Speaker 7: keeping a close enough distance to make it look like
- 1:40:02Speaker 7: he's not staring at Drake. But in case Drake wants
- 1:40:05Speaker 7: to say something to him, he's there and within the
- 1:40:08Speaker 7: hearing distance.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: This is so perfectly described. This happened. I only go
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: in the locker on.
- 1:40:14Speaker 7: My round with his hands behind his back and he's
- 1:40:17Speaker 7: just looking around, but really like he's not looking at anything.
- 1:40:20Speaker 6: He just Drake, if you need me, I'm here to talk.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: He liked that so perfect. I only go in the
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: locker room on Fridays, and I observe this on Fridays.
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: He just kind of lingers around Drake's locker, hoping that
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: Drake engages him in some way.
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: Drake makes like a straight remark at no One, and
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: I was like, Oh, you're talking to me.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: I have the answer to that. Tyler and Ludlow.
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: With the Packers releasing Trayvon Diggs this week, it made
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: me wonder about a rules question for teams that have
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: been eliminated from the playoffs. If a team was eliminated
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: from the playoffs and another team had a key start
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: to go down like Boat nicks uh as a player
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: on an expiring contract ever requested to be released to
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: try to get signed by that team. I imagine that
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: teams wouldn't be lining up to sign a player like
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: Jameis Winston for the conference championship. But I would rather
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: my team go down in a blaze of glory with
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: the big play potential with Winston over starting Stidham.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: I don't think you can do that.
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: Like, I don't think someone I don't think one of
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: the four remaining teams could sign Trevon Diggs.
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: Really, what about like Rivers, Oh, he wasn't in the league. Yeah,
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know that you could do either.
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: But that's that's different. It's different.
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: But I think that there is the cutoff at the
- 1:41:41Speaker 4: end of the year in terms of teams because these
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: are all procedural moves.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I might I might have that wrong.
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: You know, I do not know that for certain, and
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: I know that the waiver process would still you know,
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: it was in play toward the end of the year.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: But I don't think with a guy like Trayvon Diggs specifically,
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: I don't think like the Rams could say, well, Emmanuel
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: Forbes got hurt last week, we could use a corner.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: I don't think they could do that, but I'm not
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: I'm not positive on that.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: Maybe I can see if I can ask a couple
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: of questions to my cap gurus in the building.
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: Tyler also says, if you need a food recommendation for Denver,
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: illegal Piezz is my favorite place in the city. It's
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: like Chipotle if they serve alcohol and cooked with flavor.
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: Okay, Chipotle, Your prands are like my dad Chipotle.
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: What is it Chipotle?
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: Chipotle?
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, okay, I pronounced her Beyonce.
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: All right, did he get back to you?
- 1:42:49Speaker 6: He said he's on his way.
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: He's on his way walking here or like wrapping up
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: with Drake.
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: On my way Now.
- 1:42:57Speaker 7: I think he's just shuffling his way studio in the
- 1:43:01Speaker 7: tunnel und a little bit.
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: Yeah, he doesn't pick his feet up when he walks.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: All right, So while we wait, one more call, and
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: of course it's Christian in La.
- 1:43:09Speaker 22: Hey, you guys, Hey, you guys, Hey, you guys.
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: Hey.
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: I was not even gonna call today, but I heard
- 1:43:15Speaker 5: this your Broni joker brand from wherever you're from. Come
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: after Christian in La What I said, brother Bren was this,
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: I was afraid the Patriots were a paper tiger also said.
- 1:43:27Speaker 10: I also said this.
- 1:43:28Speaker 22: In week fifteen, that if they proved certain certain things
- 1:43:31Speaker 22: and did.
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: Certain things and accomplished those things that week, they would
- 1:43:34Speaker 5: prove to me that they weren't.
- 1:43:35Speaker 22: And they did. And so I got back to a
- 1:43:38Speaker 22: place where I believe in the team can take it
- 1:43:40Speaker 22: all the way. Okay, that said, if this team goes
- 1:43:43Speaker 22: up to Denver and let a team led by Jared
- 1:43:47Speaker 22: Sidham who hasn't a path in nearly two years, eat
- 1:43:51Speaker 22: or even compete with them, you better hang your head
- 1:43:54Speaker 22: in shame and don't even bother to come home because
- 1:43:57Speaker 22: long So.
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: Now their paper tip again. All right, thanks Christian, I
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: get it. He's right, he's bipolar, all right, Evan's back.
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: So before we get into Picks House the locker room, tell.
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: It, I think, so, yeah, we're about to find out. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:44:24Speaker 13: Matt Collins was putting his pads on and looking like
- 1:44:28Speaker 13: he might be headed out to practice.
- 1:44:32Speaker 6: Even seeing him in the locker room, I feel.
- 1:44:34Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah, I think he might be you know, probably
- 1:44:38Speaker 13: still limiting all that good stuff, but it seems like
- 1:44:40Speaker 13: he's going out there. And Rabel has said now a
- 1:44:43Speaker 13: couple of times recently, especially that Thursday seems to be
- 1:44:46Speaker 13: like the real big day for them in terms of
- 1:44:49Speaker 13: you know, the most work and uh in pads and
- 1:44:52Speaker 13: that kind of stuff. So it looks like Matt Collins,
- 1:44:55Speaker 13: we'll be back at practice. I mean, I'll be out
- 1:44:57Speaker 13: there in half an hour and we'll find out for sure.
- 1:44:59Speaker 13: But that was the the big news was that he
- 1:45:02Speaker 13: looks like he's coming back there you.
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: Go, guys, all right, Okay, that's anything.
- 1:45:09Speaker 13: Else her from Morgan Moses, you know, talking a little
- 1:45:12Speaker 13: bit about trying to help out the two youngins on
- 1:45:16Speaker 13: the left side and you know, get them ready for
- 1:45:18Speaker 13: uh the atmosphere and the altitude and all that good stuff.
- 1:45:23Speaker 13: And it was, you know, he didn't really say much,
- 1:45:26Speaker 13: uh you know, to be like, I don't have to
- 1:45:29Speaker 13: do a ton to help him, but you know he's
- 1:45:31Speaker 13: going to try to do that sort of thing. And
- 1:45:34Speaker 13: uh then Kashan Boodie talked a little bit too, so uh,
- 1:45:38Speaker 13: not not a ton happening. But obviously every all eyes
- 1:45:41Speaker 13: and in the media contingent were on Matt Collins' locker
- 1:45:44Speaker 13: to see if he was getting dressed or not.
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: Any of the players wearing the strong T shirts.
- 1:45:50Speaker 6: No, no, they have, they have.
- 1:45:56Speaker 13: Like I was going to say, there's something somebody else's
- 1:45:59Speaker 13: didn't fight a little bit of a more serious fight
- 1:46:01Speaker 13: that they they wear on their jerseys and stuff.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: But yeah, not du du sorry buddy, No, No, okay,
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: all right, Paul it's that time of the week. We're
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: down to two games. How did we do last week?
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: So last week overall with the full division round games,
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: Evan and Paul both went four and oh, Mike, Alex
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: and Fred all three and one.
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: With the spread, Fred went four and oh, Evan and
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: Paul went two and two. Mike and Alex went one
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: and three.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: I believe that makes me perfect for the pre playoffs.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: You don't like it when people step online.
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: I'm sorry, and I wanted to give you you a flowers. Okay,
- 1:46:49Speaker 4: so you hear the current standings. Evan leads the overall
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: just picking the games nine and one. The rest of
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: us are all eight and two. Express stick my goodness,
- 1:47:03Speaker 4: ten and oh. As Fred already alluded to ten and oh,
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: Evan and paula six and four, and then like Mike
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: and Alex are five and five. So I just want
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: to say kudos to Mike for actually being five hundred. Yes,
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: at this stage, you know that's not bad. It's not
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: bad for him for him, correct, but ten and oh
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: for Fred.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: That's that's impressed.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: Bread.
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: For all you people out there that have been riding
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: this wave, where's my taste?
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: All right? I need a little.
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: All right, I need a little so a.
- 1:47:44Speaker 24: Little what Let's let's start with Sunday at you know,
- 1:47:48Speaker 24: a little uh, Sunday at three on CBS. Records at
- 1:47:56Speaker 24: this point don't matter, but they're the same. It's the Patriot,
- 1:48:00Speaker 24: It's at the Broncos crazy.
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: So I'm a little disconcerted here. You normally skip over
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: the paper.
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: Oh god, for nineteen weeks, you've skipped over the Patriots.
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: That just changed my pick. Well, we have to skip over.
- 1:48:20Speaker 3: We're not going to do it.
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: We're not going to do it.
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: We're going to go to six thirty on Sunday on Fox.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: Oh my god, I'm a lot of sorts. I'm a
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: lot of sorts.
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: You'll know who to blame if disaster stross blame Duke.
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: I'm worried about him. That's all that's on my mind.
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: He has the stomach bug. He's going to be all right,
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: worried about Deuce dou Strong taking. Yeah, he's been.
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: Lost a couple of pounds.
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: Yeah, back then, good, he's diagnosed with the Brady bug.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: He's just sick of fourteen win seasons. So it's the
- 1:48:53Speaker 3: Rams at the Seahawks for the NFC Crown Uh.
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: The Seahawks favored by two and a half. You have
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: to lead us off.
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: That is not here.
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think that's a that's a reasonable line
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: I would I want to pick the Seahawks.
- 1:49:15Speaker 13: I think the Seahawks are the better team, but mcva,
- 1:49:20Speaker 13: McVeigh and Stafford in this kind of game, I I'm
- 1:49:24Speaker 13: going to take the Rams. I just think that the medal,
- 1:49:26Speaker 13: you know, the championship medal. I don't know if I
- 1:49:29Speaker 13: can trust Sam Darnold in this spot. I'm going to
- 1:49:32Speaker 13: take the Rams. Okay, I don't like it, though.
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: I'm going to take Seattle. I'm going to take the
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: home field. But this should be a good game. They've
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: played twice. They were both, you know, there were different
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: kinds of games. One was more defensive oriented to the other.
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: One turned into a shootout. It could go either way.
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: I'm rooting for the Rams, as you know, but I
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: think Seattle at home. I think the defense has played
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: so well. Basically, the difference to me is the team's
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: playing right now. I think Seattle's playing better than the Rams.
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: So I'm going to take Seattle.
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean Seattle kind of was under my radar
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: all season, and then I started paying attention to him.
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god, they're playing good. Yeah they are.
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: They're all over the place.
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: I think for the same reasons that Paul said, I'm
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: gonna go with the Seahawks in this game Island. Yeah,
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: they're just because the way they're playing right now.
- 1:50:32Speaker 13: They're playing great football in all three phases, you know. Yeah, like, yeah,
- 1:50:39Speaker 13: I watched a little bit of their defense this morning,
- 1:50:41Speaker 13: and they they do a great job. They pressure the quarterback,
- 1:50:44Speaker 13: they will cover well.
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: This McDonald guy, yeah, I.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Mean, everybody's talking about Ben Johnson and Mike Vrabel, but we'll.
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: Get the job. He's done. Yeah.
- 1:50:53Speaker 13: It reminds me a little bit of watching Houston's for.
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: The finalists, right, yeah, yeah, he was one of the
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: five finalists, so he got in there.
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:00Speaker 13: Where they just they don't make they don't make mistakes.
- 1:51:03Speaker 13: They don't beat themselves defensively, which is a lot of
- 1:51:06Speaker 13: the times defensively, it's a it's a coverage bust, it's
- 1:51:08Speaker 13: a guy falling down, it's a guy not getting his
- 1:51:10Speaker 13: assignment right.
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: They don't do that. They may hear and.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: Everybody strikes me as a humble, tough guy, like he's
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: not like Dan Campbell biting kneecaps, but he seems like
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: a tough guy but humble about it.
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: Yeah, or understated, Yeah, understated tough guys.
- 1:51:24Speaker 13: I think that, you know, along with Donald being Donald,
- 1:51:28Speaker 13: I think the other issue with them is like outside
- 1:51:30Speaker 13: of JSN, they don't have a ton on offense that
- 1:51:32Speaker 13: scares you.
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: Charbon hurt Yeah, Charbona is out. That really hurts them.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: I know you don't think so, Evan.
- 1:51:40Speaker 6: That's why I want them to win, because if we
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: go to the super Bowl.
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think they'll miss him. That does hurt too. Yeah,
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: that too. You know, that two back approach I think
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: is has served them well.
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, so you's right, they don't have a lot
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: of different options.
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: You're picking the rams.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: I'm just going with the medals are a little tighter
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: than McDonald.
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: I'm just going with the offense.
- 1:52:01Speaker 13: I'm going with mcveigh's experience, Stafford's experience. This is McDonald's
- 1:52:05Speaker 13: first championship game, this is Donald's first championship game. I'm
- 1:52:09Speaker 13: just going with the guys that have been there before.
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: All right, I get it. Now we go back to
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: three o'clock.
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: I just hope it's not too late.
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: On Sunday, it's the Patriots at Mile High fifty two eighty.
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: What Fred, you got your wish? Yeah, evidently some money
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: on Denver. So it's down to four and a half.
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: Patriots by four and a half. That was by four
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: and a half about a half hour ago, Matt As
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: we're talking, if you want to look that up and
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: see if it's changed like it did last week. But
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: Patriots by four and a half.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: They've been listening to this show. I got people scared,
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: an enormous road and in this championship round.
- 1:52:49Speaker 6: What were our scores on Monday?
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: Do you recall, I believe you said thirty one to ten.
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: I said twenty seven to twenty. I know that I'm not.
- 1:53:00Speaker 6: Really in a little Patriots twenty eight Broncos fourteen.
- 1:53:12Speaker 13: I'm at the same point total for the Patriots. I
- 1:53:14Speaker 13: think they get the twenty eight in this game. I'm
- 1:53:16Speaker 13: going twenty eight to twenty. It's a little bit closer.
- 1:53:19Speaker 13: I think all the money that's coming on the Broncos
- 1:53:22Speaker 13: is well on the spot, and you know, the whole
- 1:53:26Speaker 13: the spread is big for a road team and playing
- 1:53:29Speaker 13: at home and Mile High and all that stuff. But
- 1:53:31Speaker 13: I think too that the Broncos right now are doing
- 1:53:34Speaker 13: a really good job of hyping up Jared's did them like,
- 1:53:36Speaker 13: I don't know if they're trying to convince themselves of it.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Or if the.
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: Secret I don't know the playoffs.
- 1:53:43Speaker 13: I don't know, But Sean Payton has come out and
- 1:53:47Speaker 13: said some things about you know, effusive in praise, saying
- 1:53:50Speaker 13: that he's one of the best thirty two quarterbacks in
- 1:53:52Speaker 13: the league. All the players in the locker room are
- 1:53:54Speaker 13: saying that he's been tearing it up on scout team
- 1:53:56Speaker 13: all year long, like they I feel like some of
- 1:53:59Speaker 13: that money is.
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: Built and Williams evidently has never heard of him.
- 1:54:02Speaker 13: Yeah, you know, taking the cheese a little bit of
- 1:54:04Speaker 13: The Broncos are trying to put out at least this
- 1:54:07Speaker 13: front that they really believe in this guy and they
- 1:54:10Speaker 13: think he can win the game.
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I would agree that.
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: They've done a good job of trying to rally and
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: they've doing all they can. If if Jared's didn't was
- 1:54:21Speaker 4: anywhere near as good as Sean Payton is describing him
- 1:54:24Speaker 4: in the last couple of days, I would look back
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: and say, I don't know what, you're starting the wrong guy,
- 1:54:28Speaker 4: because the guy you have playing hasn't played the level
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: that you're talking about stideamatic. So that's a big, big
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: part of my reasoning. But I also am expecting a
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: nice bounce back game from Drake May. I can't imagine
- 1:54:42Speaker 4: that this offense continues to sort of sputter the way
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: it has in these two and I know they've played
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: against good defenses, and I know that May has made
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: his share of plays. I'm not saying it's been a disaster.
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: He wasn't c J.
- 1:54:54Speaker 4: Stroud Sunday. He threw he did throw three touchdown passes.
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: I think he eliminates some of the negative plays in
- 1:55:00Speaker 4: the Patriots roll. I'll say thirty three to sixteen.
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: Role inject that interest, playing the role of Fred Paul Parillo. No,
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: you usually say it's going to be a close game
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: fifty two to ten, but close competitive forty to nothing. Right, Yeah,
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: what do you got they're making a pick? Yeah, so listen.
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: Like I said, I'm not afraid of Jared Stidham, but
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: I do respect the rest of that Denver team. There's
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: a reason why they're the number one seed. They've got
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: a great coach, they've got really good casting characters in
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: that team. They're at home. It's a tough place to play.
- 1:55:39Speaker 3: It's going to be a tough game. You're going to
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: be going into that locker room saying, uh, oh, we
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: got ourselves a game. So but second half Patriots have
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: made adjustments. Twenty six to twelve, Patriots twenty six to twelve.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: Okay, fourteen pointed it just you could still be a
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: close game.
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: And I would say the two playoff wins that you
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: have were by thirteen and twelve, and I would say
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: they were both close games, right, even though at the
- 1:56:14Speaker 4: end of the day they were two score wins.
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: Pull away, you pull away.
- 1:56:17Speaker 8: I like it.
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: I have faith, and I cannot.
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: See this being a one score game in the fourth quarter,
- 1:56:22Speaker 4: unlike the first two playoffs.
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: Okay, but.
- 1:56:26Speaker 13: Years, I feel like that's gonna You know, last week
- 1:56:31Speaker 13: we had the screenshots going around of the whole nfl
- 1:56:35Speaker 13: I panel taking the Texas girl broke your heart, Now
- 1:56:38Speaker 13: that's gonna it. Didn't break my heart because she was
- 1:56:41Speaker 13: the only one on the panel that actually said some
- 1:56:44Speaker 13: nice things about the Patriots defense on Monday, unlike some
- 1:56:47Speaker 13: of her colleagues.
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: So I appreciated that very much. No one keeps the
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: no one can seats.
- 1:56:53Speaker 6: You could do anything to him and you can just
- 1:56:55Speaker 6: keep crawling back. Yeah, you know she hasn't her him.
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: I played the ball in his mouth and she's just whipping.
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: You're determined to have this all go down in a
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: heap today, all right, On that note, keeping your unit.
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: All right, listen, everybody, enjoy yourself.
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: Stay safe.
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: You know, depending on where you are, could be really
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: bad with the snow, So get all your shopping done
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: so that you can hunker down on Sunday. Hope the
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: electricity doesn't go out. You can watch the game right right,
- 1:57:36Speaker 3: all right, We'll see you next Tuesday with an a
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: Lamar Hunt trophy.
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: See you then.
- 1:57:45Speaker 6: Hey, this is Alex. Thanks for tuning into the show.
