- 0:03This is a Bramble Jam podcast. This week on your Gabble Gabble. If
- 0:15sue your friend for harassment, if she counter suits for defamation, are you
- 0:18still friends? Judge Mathis has bits and if you assue a comedian named Michael
- 0:23Blaxton and he doesn't show up, do you get your money back? Or
- 0:26will it be a thriller? Real people, you'll go, Man, you
- 0:34did it there, Judge Joe Brown forgot to say. Judge Joe Brown was
- 0:38about to say, you just left it with a Michael Jackson joke. I
- 0:42did Michael Blacks and man, that is something. You're a divan. The
- 0:46gabble Baby, the Gabble's back. People said, people said, I think
- 0:50they might quit. That's what they said, said that I think they might.
- 0:54I heard the rumors after Bramblefest. We just said it was so good.
- 1:00It's like hard to go back without the audience. I thought it was
- 1:03gonna be. It was. It was a lot of fun. It was
- 1:06a lot of fun. But we can just imagine. We can't only imagine
- 1:11what a crowd will say if we had Gabble Love today. Yeah. No,
- 1:18I'm surrounded by the people listening to our things. Well, they say
- 1:26he is guilty. Well, they say he's innocent. You've confused this show
- 1:32with the show where Judge says guilty and innocent. Yeah, this was just
- 1:36about months, just not money. You understand what I'm getting at though.
- 1:40The guy from Mercy Me wrote that forest too. This is wild. You
- 1:42didn't understand that was? Do you want to start first? You want me
- 1:47to? Okay? You go ahead? You know how I always get the
- 1:51stories in and say does that mean you're supposed to go first? And then
- 1:53you get mad at me because I don't know like what you're what you mean
- 1:56when you say things. I typically think the better story should go last.
- 2:00So you think my story is better. Michael Blackson is better than mine.
- 2:05That name alone, a comedian named Michael Blackson Blaxton Blaxton. Is he white?
- 2:10He's black? Thank goodness? Yep, all right, I'll go first.
- 2:15Let me introduce you to Jareka Webb. Jaika Webb is suing her former
- 2:21friend for five thousand dollars wow, for defamation of character, Pretty Penny.
- 2:25Her friend Alueitoyan a keen fum wah Yes, a Lueitoyan a keen fama Let
- 2:36needs you to say that full name every time A lueitoyan a kei me one.
- 2:39Now Jureka calls her Lua the whole time. That's nice. Lua's a
- 2:44nice one nickname instead of Aluatoyan. She says Lua. She Alua is Uhlus
- 2:53is counter suing Jareka for harassment for five K both the max defamation harassment.
- 3:00I love it. I love it, we both because listen, when you
- 3:04get defamed, that's right. If you defame back, can you both?
- 3:09I saw them live, Uh, you can harass back. I think that's
- 3:14what Matthews is going to find out here. If you've been defamed. I'm
- 3:19not sure I know the difference still, but whatever. So Jureka starts off
- 3:23and she the first thing out of her mouth is just so you know your
- 3:27honor. I'm completely aware of how childish this story is, right, but
- 3:30this is who we're dealing with, So it's happening. It's on. I
- 3:35met Leua because we worked together at the same bar, and we both got
- 3:38fired from the same bar for the same reason. That reason is we were
- 3:42late for work. Oh no, is it a one strike your all type
- 3:46of thing? Mathis is like, why can't you make it work on tom
- 3:49where you fought were and she looks. He looks at Leu wongos were you
- 3:53also fired for being late? Lewis says, yeah, I was fired for
- 3:54being late. She was fired for being late and having a huge attitude problem.
- 3:59Well, and that's fair. Yeah, matthis doesn't care. He wants
- 4:02to know why these people can't show up for work on time, because back
- 4:05in his day, you get the bit what do you do? And it
- 4:09makes you show up for work? Like Loua was like, uh, I'm
- 4:13trying to work on it. It's a chronic problem. And he's like,
- 4:15how is that a chronic problem? She goes, I just won't wake up.
- 4:18I hit the snooze too many times. But I've been better lately.
- 4:21I've been better. And he's like, I don't understand. Are y' all
- 4:24drunk every night? That's what he says. So Jarek's back to it.
- 4:28Dareka says, why we were in the process of getting fired in the middle
- 4:33of them firing us, so in the process. Yes. The law goes
- 4:36off and tells the owner that two of the managers are drugging people at the
- 4:43bar. Were they? And Jareka says, and that's coming straight from them.
- 4:48I'd have no reason to make that up. They're not in the courtroom,
- 4:53but she seems to think that that gives her some credibility. Were they
- 4:59No, Okay, Lou I will say that she never said that there is
- 5:02some cocaine. We'll get to that momentarily, Daka says. So we're hanging
- 5:06out after we get fired, and we're in the club and a girl's name
- 5:12came up that we both know, and we were talking about her, and
- 5:15I said, this girl makes you think that you're best friends, but you're
- 5:18really not. And this makes her start crying in the club, like making
- 5:23a scene. I don't know why this has to do with anything. I
- 5:25don't, by the way, making a scene crying, And so I put
- 5:29her in a cab. She was drunk. I sent her home. So
- 5:32we both got jobs at a different bar together. Yeah, because they're friends,
- 5:38that's right, and that's right. And so we walked across the street
- 5:42to a bar and one of the managers that we used to work for that
- 5:45she'd accused of drugging people was there and he was bartending and he saw us
- 5:51walk in and looked at Lou Wai and said I will not serve you.
- 5:55You cost me my job. This isn't okay, that's not good. But
- 5:59he made me a drink, and I, out of loyalty to my friend,
- 6:02declined the drink and I left the bar. Of course, well,
- 6:04she stayed in the in the bar, we only had an hour break.
- 6:10No, no, I'm sorry, I only I declined the drink, but
- 6:12we only had an hour break, so I stayed there to eat something,
- 6:14right, So I went back to work. LOUI had left. Lua comes
- 6:18over to me and starts yelling that I'd abandoned her in the bar, just
- 6:23ignored her, blah blah blah. And then she starts texting this other girl
- 6:29that I had talked about in the bar and starts harassing her the same way
- 6:31she was harassing me, to the point where this girl has the block her
- 6:34to get her to stop. I don't know how any of that is harassment,
- 6:38but that's where we leave her. Dareka from Loua says, first of
- 6:41all, there's so many lies in that story right there that she just told.
- 6:44I didn't lie about any of my managers. None of them were drugging
- 6:46people. They were doing cocaine every night, though and she was doing it
- 6:53with him, and that's why she's upset. That's why Jareka's upset is she
- 6:56was doing cocaine with him. And then Jareka steps in and lies, that's
- 7:00defamation right there. Okay, just so you know, uh, and lou
- 7:05I goes, no, I've seen it. I was there. I told
- 7:08her not to do any drugs, and I don't do any drugs. Jerika
- 7:12goes, that's a lie. You carry weed on you all the time,
- 7:15and and uh, Massis's late letter finished and lou was like, no,
- 7:18I don't, that's not true. I got fire because the manager claimed I
- 7:23was later than I was. So she's claiming she was late, not as
- 7:27late as the manager says she was. Not got fired, not a fireable,
- 7:30not a fireable amount of plate. And she said, I told the
- 7:32owner to check the tapes because the management take it. Take a lie,
- 7:38lie the management. You would see the management's doing drugs, and they had
- 7:43all these drug problems and they were they were doing cocaine with all the workers
- 7:46there. The owner of this of this place is of firing people. Yes,
- 7:51interesting, it's wild the managers that that's fascinating. So the manager,
- 7:58we used to work for is at this new bar. He starts screaming at
- 8:01me because I, you know, got him fired. But he said I
- 8:05told them that he was drugging, so that owner did fire the cocaine using
- 8:09managers. Right, okay, But she wants to be very clear. I
- 8:13never said they were drugging servers or people at the bar. She said,
- 8:18that's not what I said. He would buy adderall from the servers and he
- 8:22would do cocaine with them, That's what she said. So the whole time
- 8:28Jareka is laughing and smirking at me, and then when I turned around,
- 8:31you know, she's not with me, and she stayed there, and so
- 8:35I got upset. Matthis does a bit at this point about you know,
- 8:37would you want to be in this club either if you thought she was drugging?
- 8:41Blah blah blah, Like I can't believe it's been too long, Yeah,
- 8:43Matthews. So I lost my place. Oh we're doing he got a
- 8:50place, Lassole, So matth Matthew's like, so help me out here.
- 8:54Where's the defamation of character? Right? Where is it? Jareka says,
- 8:58I have text messages where she calls me a prostitute. Wow, And messag
- 9:05Is like okay, and she says, I also, she filed a false
- 9:07police report claiming assault. And he's like, a police report, not a
- 9:11like you file, a real one. Yes, but it wasn't true what
- 9:16happened because that police report, she said, the police didn't do anything because
- 9:18they found no merit in it. She told people at her former job that
- 9:22I was a prostitute as well. I don't know what all to do anything.
- 9:26And he said, do you have any evidence that she told anyone aside
- 9:30from you that you were a prostitute? And she says, yes, I
- 9:33have evidence based upon this police report that she lied to them, And he
- 9:39looks at Lewis, did you lie to the police? Lewis says no,
- 9:43I didn't. Does she have the police report? Do we have the police
- 9:45report? We do the bail off hands of the police report of Mathis.
- 9:48He looks at it. Eighty percent of the police report has been blacked out
- 9:52with markar eight. He's maybe ninety percent. I think by Jeri. I
- 10:00didn't want the other stuff in there. And he's like, I can't do
- 10:03anything with this, and she's like, look it says it. He's like,
- 10:07all that's left is your names like, that's all that's left. I
- 10:09don't have any other information here, like why don't I have anything else?
- 10:15So then they start fighting between each other and matthis is ready to rule.
- 10:20So who So the defamation from lou Lua is that her name Loui? Yes?
- 10:30Is that? Is that Lua was telling people that Jureka is suing Louah
- 10:37for defamation. Right, and then there's a countersuit also for defamation for harassment
- 10:41for her allies saying that she harassed her. So after, because of the
- 10:46whole defamation, do we have any proof of harassment? No? Great,
- 10:50No one gets money. He does a full bit. We're both contentious.
- 10:52You both get nothing. That's it. Great? It was something. Yeah,
- 10:56they sound like character. There was a lot of accusations flying around,
- 10:58but not a whole lot of actual details. Yeah. Well that's what happens
- 11:01when you don't have actual evidence. That's exactly right. I'm gonna judge Joe
- 11:07Brown and uh he uh he does some all of your he does some so
- 11:18real life. He does some real Joe Brown stuff. Yea, are you
- 11:22right for this? I want to introduce you to the plaintiff. His name
- 11:26is Sean Shivers. No, Sean Shivers. He is suing for five thousand,
- 11:33sixty two dollars and ten cents for a deposit, venue rental, and
- 11:41advertising. He's suing Michael Blaxton. As we've previously discussed, so Shivers,
- 11:46Blaxton had the head Sean Shivers is planning a comedy event close to the University
- 11:54of Indiana co Hoosiers, and Sean hired a comedian named Michael Black. Now,
- 12:01apparently Michael is a name that people know. He's a comedian. People
- 12:05were very excited to see Michael Blaxton. Apparently he was in a movie.
- 12:09That's what I've heard. Now, Michael Blaxton, he's wearing like a Red
- 12:13Thriller jacket. I don't know what he's going for here, but it's what
- 12:16he did. And he says, Michael agreed to do the show and essentially,
- 12:24you know, he'd be the headliner and it would be this whole thing.
- 12:28Well, the day before the show, they get a call from Michael
- 12:31Blaxton and he's like, I'm not coming, not coming to the show,
- 12:37and they were like, you got to come to the show. Yeah,
- 12:39we booked you, and he's like, I'll see what I can do.
- 12:41Basically, so it's the day of the show. They can't find Michael anywhere.
- 12:45They go to find Michael, they get a couple of these other two
- 12:48people that Michael says, these two other people show up as replacements for Michael
- 12:52Blaxton. He's like, I got you two replacements. They're going to do
- 12:54great. Well. The problem is everybody was there to see Michael Blaxton,
- 13:00and so when people were showing up finding out that Michael Blackson's out there is
- 13:03gonna be too Joe Schmoe's nobody wants no exact exactly right. So they start
- 13:09to leave. They start to leave. Now there you know, it was
- 13:13just a failed failed comedy event because Michael Blackston was supposedly exactly right. And
- 13:18so Michael Blaxton says, here's his story. First of all, I know
- 13:26now that I shouldn't have done business with these people. Uh. He's wearing
- 13:30a suit that he got from Walmart. Looks like it's from three easters ago.
- 13:33Michael coming things and Judge Joe is like, I didn't ask you to
- 13:41comment on the fashion, and Michael says, Joe, Joe, listen,
- 13:46and Judge Joe says, don't call me Joe. I don't know who you
- 13:50think you are. I'm not Joe, I'm uh. And the crowd is
- 13:54like like who. And Michael turns into the crowd and he's like, who
- 13:58are these people? Like the jury or something? Man, he's got material
- 14:03and judges like, they're a crowd, they're laughing. You should enjoy that
- 14:09as a community. You should enjoy that. That's exactly right, Judge.
- 14:13Joe then asks, is there a contract that we can see? There is
- 14:18a contract we can see and he says, Michael Blaxton, what does section
- 14:24eight Provision eight in the contract state? And Michael Blackson's like, why should
- 14:31I know that? And Judge's like, it's a contract you signed, you
- 14:35should know what it says, class and luckily we have it puts it on
- 14:41the TV. Provision eight states that you have the right to cancel fifteen days
- 14:50before the event. If you cancel within that window after fifteen days, within
- 14:56fifteen days of the event, then you are responsible for any min that was
- 15:00lost. Michael Blaxton says, I don't know. I don't know. I
- 15:03tell you I shouldn't have done it. You know, I got them two.
- 15:07I got them two replacements, two for the price of one better than
- 15:11me. If they would have asked, I would have called up. I
- 15:13would have done a bit online, I mean a bit over the phone.
- 15:16But I had a TV appearance that was more important to me, and so
- 15:20I found two people that could fill in. And the people and the guys
- 15:22are like, listen to two people. They know they didn't want the two
- 15:26people they wanted. Michael Blaxton judge job Brown's right to rule. I mean,
- 15:28clearly he owes the five thousand and sixty two dollars and fifteen cents or
- 15:33whatever like he owes it. He didn't follow the rules of the contract.
- 15:35He's out the money. Think something. I will say this if this is
- 15:39who this is Michael Blaxton, Michael Blaxon with no t okay, Michael,
- 15:45I thought it, says Stune on the on the on the screen American.
- 15:48Is he a comedian? Yes? Do you have an IMDb? He does.
- 15:50He was in the Coming to America sequel. He's in Next Friday.
- 15:54Michael Blaxon, that's him, all right, Michael Blaxon. Michael Blaxon is
- 15:58gonna owe some the full amount, boy, And he says, I'm fine
- 16:03with that because now he can use that money to buy a new suit.
- 16:06Gotam crowd last week and Michael Blackson goes on and that was it. Pretty
- 16:11simple justice. Yeah, but you know what with these two cases, I
- 16:15don't know, you don't know, I don't know. Let's try again tomorrow,
- 16:19another week, another week. But baside next week, another gavel until
- 16:23then, we'll be back. Another gavel after that, another gavel until then.
- 16:30As they say, until then, maybe it was the first to wish
- 16:33you in all ris Yo. Gabble Gabbles a Bramble Jam podcast recorded live in
