- 0:10but now you're not. I'm gay, Daddy, I'm gay. Missus
- 0:14Simpson made me gay. I believe he's saying he's okay. Four finger discount,
- 0:22dude, welcome two four figure discount. Where this week we are here
- 0:41to review episode h A B F zero seven from season seventeen of the Simpsons.
- 0:45It is Bart has two mummies. I am Endos and I am Guy,
- 0:49and we're all traveling this time around feeling okay. They're dando. Yeah,
- 0:56I'm doing well. We gave our Holly Hoo big girl bed finally,
- 1:00so she's wort two and a half an hour. And as it's been made
- 1:04well aware on this podcast, Holly is not a good sleeper. You know,
- 1:07she had silent reflex for a good couple of years there, and still
- 1:11you know, I was working up four or five times a night, and
- 1:12poor Nicholas, she was just getting tired and tired and tired. And we
- 1:17got Holly this big girl bed and maybe we worked out. Maybe it was
- 1:19just because she didn't want to feel trapped in that bed. Because now we
- 1:22say, hey Holly, last night, legitimately seven o'clock, Hey Holly,
- 1:25it's bedtime. She just got the couch, went into a bedroom, climbed
- 1:29into bed, put the blanket over and said nine eyes. I went to
- 1:30bed and stayed asleep for the entire night. I have never related to Holly
- 1:34Moore. I was just like, I was like, you're sure. She's
- 1:38like, daddy go, Daddy go. I'm like okay, then sort of
- 1:42walked. I was like, it's this happening. She was like no,
- 1:45nos closed the door, didn't hear from her all night. That is brilliant
- 1:49and a big load of everyone's shoulders of the dean. Yeah, it's fantastic.
- 1:53So it's just nice knowing that we're going to get some peaceful nights again
- 1:57more Nicolo, because you know Nicola does the grunt worked when it comes to
- 2:00nighttime. But yeah, so we having a great, great weekend here.
- 2:02I heard you had a big weekend. Did you got a Wu Tang Clan?
- 2:05Is that where you went to? Because I saw that playing in Melbourne.
- 2:07I'm like, Guy said, you went out and this looks like someone
- 2:09who Guy would go and see Guy had a big weekend with the lovely Louise
- 2:16did double shot of socializing. One of Lou's good friends had the fiftieth on
- 2:25Saturday night at this at this bar in Richmond up in Melbourne, so we
- 2:30made the trip up the highway from Geelong. We've got a very nice AIRB
- 2:35and b not far from from Bridge Road. Fantastic, the cozy little place.
- 2:38I was like, oh this is still It was one of those things
- 2:42where I felt like Bilbo Baggins. I was like, oh, this is
- 2:46so cozy and nice and I've got a comfortable chair. Oh my god,
- 2:49Raiders has just started on TV, Like do we have to go to this
- 2:53party? But we then went to I've never seen this before, I swear,
- 3:00oh the other thing, and I mentioned that hobbit. It was also
- 3:04very small and it had like a tiny bathroom door that you had to crouch
- 3:08down to get through it. Well I had to crouch down to get through,
- 3:09and lou was sort of sauntering through its saying I'm not bothered. But
- 3:15of course I cracked my head on the frame and just laid out this almighty
- 3:19fuck. But now we went to this party and it was fantastic because It
- 3:27was a very Generation X crowd. It was a costume part well, the
- 3:30invite said a bit of British Lou and I are like, well, I
- 3:35had costume parties. I'm not a fan, and I think Lou was too
- 3:38keen on finding. We sort of talked about a Harry and Meghan thing going
- 3:43on, but then the end it was just like, well, I'm wearing
- 3:45my rebox because it's got a good got a Union jack on and said I
- 3:47got a pair of socks that I got a fox on it. That's that's
- 3:50fox houndy and they're British raising green. I'm wearing those. We get there
- 3:53at least three Princess Diana's a whole bunch of dudes in Peaky Blinders costumes because
- 4:00well that's low maintenance and looked pretty cool. Loose friend Dave was dressed as
- 4:04any Lennox. He had the he had his haircut short and died orange and
- 4:09he's wearing a suit. Um but yeah, old generation next crowd. And
- 4:13the DJ was a guy I used to work with back in my street press
- 4:15days and he was just spinning banger after banger. It was set Mikey Kle
- 4:23Yeah aka Joey light Bomb. If you need a DJ, get in touch
- 4:27with this guy. He is fucking rad, good guy and great taste.
- 4:30And the drinks kept flowing and uh yeah, hit the dance Floorum we were
- 4:36out to like three am. So that was fantastic. That was that night,
- 4:41and then we're up in Malin as well because we were going to a
- 4:44concert the following night at the Forum. It was like a five band lineup
- 4:49and the headline act was a regurgitator who I'm I'm not a huge fan of,
- 4:54but lou loves their album Unit, and we went there with Loose son
- 4:57Isaac, who's you know, I'm no, he's jem Z, but he's
- 5:01very into ninety stuff as jem Z kids are regogitators more might year I think.
- 5:04Yeah, so yeah they did. They played Unit pretty much an entire
- 5:11in a bunch of their other songs as well. Polyester Girl. They played
- 5:14Polyester Girl. They played a couple of songs whose titles I should probably not
- 5:17say on this podcast because what's the one that goes what's in the end?
- 5:20What's it they? I think that's called black Bugs. That's Loose. Yeah,
- 5:25I played that definitely. That was It was a really good set.
- 5:28I mean, I wasn't a huge on Regurgitator back in the day, and
- 5:30I'm like, these guys are kind of like a mashup of red On Chili
- 5:32Peppers and Beastie Boys and almost like they clashed in some ways, you know
- 5:35what I liked about them. My memories of our Regogitator are finding black Bug
- 5:40was the song that I found on like one of those one percent hits,
- 5:42the Volume twenty five or whatever. I'm like, I don't know this,
- 5:45you know, it's not It's not Clup seven or Spice Girls. You know,
- 5:46I was still cop gear. Remember hearing that song, going this is
- 5:49a cool song. I really liked this song. So I loved when you
- 5:51bought those CDs and you found Gems. They never would have bothered hearing,
- 5:55but Regogitator they were in a thing called I think it was called Band in
- 5:57a Bubble and I want to say late nineties, maybe like two thousand era,
- 6:01where they recorded an album in a bubble in I think it was Melbourn
- 6:05or maybe Sydney. It's like a clear bubble that that people could just walk
- 6:09past and seeing it was in public and people were just watching them like animals
- 6:13in the Zoo recording this album. It was the first sort of like live
- 6:16reality experiment that was I was on tem like back when Channel V was sh
- 6:20Yeah, it sounds like something real good said it would do in all honesty.
- 6:25Yeah, they seemed like sort of smart as art school punks. Yeah,
- 6:30definitely, that's a fun memory. I remember like staying up late like
- 6:32watching because it was like constantly like a live stream. I remember what Big
- 6:34Brother up late where you'd lay in bed watching other people going to bandy.
- 6:40It was very Truman show, wasn't it. Yeah it was, yeah,
- 6:43but we watched it. It was really fresh. Yeah. Yeah, so
- 6:46there was goods. There was a band I'd heard of but never really heard
- 6:49called Dzy death Rays. It was sort of a metal they. Yeah,
- 6:53they went right the fuck off. That were fantastic, and Custer was playing.
- 6:56And Custer was of course fronted by Dave McCormick, who is the Blew
- 7:00his dad bendit. But yes, we're here today that to talk about Bart
- 7:03has two Mummies. Now, this is an episode that had two stories.
- 7:06Right, one day I thought was just pretty much whatever. The other one
- 7:09actually found very relatable from a dad being a father of a young kid the
- 7:13Flanders story. So seeing things from Flander's perspective where he's like always over protective
- 7:16and making sure his kids don't get hurt, I find myself at times being
- 7:20this way. You know, I'll go to the playground and letter's pretty high.
- 7:24Just let me make sure I put my hand behind you in case you
- 7:26fall or things like that. Nicolas like, ah, he'd be fine.
- 7:29I'm like, he won't be fine, because what will happen is I'll say
- 7:30he'll be fine, and he'll fall and you'll hurt himself, and then I'll
- 7:33be annoyed, and then the day will be ruined. And quite often,
- 7:36quite often I'll go there and I'll say, like three times, maybe maybe
- 7:41two times out of five, what I thought was going to happen in regards
- 7:45to potentially hurting themselves would have happened if I wasn't there to stop him or
- 7:48hurt Holly as well. So there is a need to do it. But
- 7:51I can also see Marge's perspective. Margin is Nicola in this equation where She's
- 7:55like, they've got to learn, and I'm like, yeah, but can
- 7:58we not teach him without them getting hurt? But so I've sort of mellowed
- 8:01in my way, so I've sort of the way Flanders learns in this.
- 8:03I've had to sort of just learn to sort of let the kids hurt themselves
- 8:07and learn that way as well. But I found that story very, very
- 8:09relatable. Also, the aspect of trusting people to babysit your kids, we
- 8:13still haven't got to that point yet. We've only That's probably why Nichola and
- 8:16I don't go out all that often. It's because nicholas family aunt here obviously,
- 8:20so we've got my parents to babysit the kids and they know the routine
- 8:24and things like that. We don't really have any friends that we sort of
- 8:26trust with kids because they haven't got kids themselves, or other friends who have
- 8:31kids had their own kids at bedtime, so they can't be here babysitting our
- 8:35kids at bedtime. And God love it, but I just don't trust my
- 8:37sister to keep my kids alive. So it was like trusting people to babysit
- 8:41my kids as something that we haven't quite worked out yet. So I can
- 8:46sort of I can rarely relate to it, to that Flanders story in particular,
- 8:48but I just thought the b plot was kind of random. I did
- 8:52hear in the commentary that they wanted to be plot. I think it was
- 8:54written by Dana Gould. This episode was it was a Dana Gould who it
- 8:56was, who's normally kind of liable. I think maybe he didn't miss no,
- 9:03no, he wrote the episode that I hated with the bart in the
- 9:05backyard that will the really long backyard. Okay, Well in that case,
- 9:09I don't think Dana Gould's going to be on our Christmas card list anytime soon.
- 9:13Because I was not a fan of this episode at all. I understand
- 9:16that you relate to it. I mean I relate to it because I was
- 9:18kidnapped by a monkey when I was a kid, but that's a story for
- 9:20another time. I was watching it, I mean looking over my notes in
- 9:26this and knowing that's not bad. That's that's not a bad joke. But
- 9:30for the most part, I came away from this going there's a lot of
- 9:33stuff in here that just doesn't land, that sort of feels like a joke.
- 9:39But the timing's all off or some of the phrasing is wrong, and
- 9:43it's hard to explain exactly why it doesn't work, but you just feel it
- 9:46in your bones, particularly a funny bone, because it's just not being tickled
- 9:50at all. Um. And some of it was just playing sad I mean,
- 9:54or I mean, look, I'm a sucker for our four legged ms,
- 10:00as any listener of the show knows, and I don't know, sort
- 10:03of walking walking down the hallway of some animal retirement zoo whenever it's like really
- 10:13getting into this. I'm not feeling this at all. Isn't it funny?
- 10:16How you know things happened to kids in the show and I'm like, oh,
- 10:18I just know from my father's perspective, like I just don't like this
- 10:22makes me sad, and you're like, oh, I fight it funny kids.
- 10:24And then you're like you're like, oh, but I liked to animals,
- 10:28and I'm like, oh, I love animals too, But you know
- 10:31whatever, Funny we have different perspectives on things. But well, yeah,
- 10:33I agree that was a sad city. I thought. The moment because it
- 10:37didn't have a payoff, it was just there just to be cruel. Was
- 10:39when Marge says that she was just patronizing Bart essentially, you know, humoring
- 10:45Bart, which he said he didn't fail at soccer, cuts to him crying
- 10:48and I'm like, what is the need to have that when there's no that
- 10:52doesn't have any bearing on the story. It's just a sad, mean moment.
- 10:54Yeah, see here is the big difference between town or I think I've
- 10:58got That was one of my favorite moment really. See that just further proves
- 11:03my point, Like, you know, when it comes to like you're got
- 11:05at the port Adam wasn't the cages. Meanwhile, fuck, but he's terrible
- 11:07at his sports. You're like, that's hilarious. It wasn't so my team
- 11:13crying. I mean, I'm not an absolute monster. I'm just a regular
- 11:16monster. But I just got a big kick out of March saying and how
- 11:22how he sucks. Think you're very I think you're on a very similar wavelength
- 11:28with the writing team of The Simpsons at this point. I think there must
- 11:31have been like, obviously there are a similar age, there are a similar
- 11:33age to you. There are a similar age to you. But I feel
- 11:35like a lot of the stuff that growing up I didn't find funny. I
- 11:39find funny in nows I get older, but you are at that age when
- 11:43it first came. So I feel like you guys are on the same wavelength.
- 11:46But I go back to when we were interviewed Matt Salmon and you guys
- 11:48are like change like fifteen minutes before we even started the show, and I'm
- 11:52like, do I speak here? You guys just get along like a house
- 11:56on fire. But yeah, yeah, so I had that as I've literally
- 12:01got my notes. What the fuck? What was the point of that moment?
- 12:05And you've gotten my favorites. That's fair, Okay, it's it's not
- 12:09actually been hit with the green pen, but it was. Remember I do
- 12:13remember chuckling at that though, just the big and how Yeah, I didn't
- 12:16like him. I thought Homer for a lot of this was dumb good moments
- 12:20of Homer and Hit in this But like I thought, I thought there was
- 12:24a lot of a lot more physical comedy with Homer in this episode. Where
- 12:28I thought the old mill bit went a little bit too long. I was
- 12:30like, well, this isn't really funny. It's just Homer getting hurt.
- 12:31It just feels like time filler. Yeah. I liked the for example,
- 12:35Homer breaking into Flander's house and you pretending to be the high school kid.
- 12:41I like out of that. I liked the news report where he had the
- 12:43tranquilds a gun, then he takes it. It's like Homer was revived by
- 12:46a stun gun later on things like that. But when he's just like,
- 12:48I'm big podcast, you have a mental problem, I was like, this
- 12:52isn't funny to me. No, that was a gag that was just stretched
- 12:56just maybe five ten seconds too far. Yeah, and there's been a lot
- 13:03of that lately, and in this episode there was a couple of those moments
- 13:05for sure. Yeah. But I did enjoy the Flanders story. I liked
- 13:09the fact that we got a Marge story that didn't revolve around Marge being mistreated
- 13:13or a margin at home, a breakup story. Looking at the mechanics of
- 13:16this or looking at the structure of it, yeah, look, it certainly
- 13:20makes sense. I think the idea of Flanders having to trust someone else with
- 13:26his kids, particularly you know, putting another female presence in their life after
- 13:31the death of his wife, exactly, that's the thing. He doesn't have
- 13:33anyone there to sort of say Flanders or Ned stand back for a second,
- 13:35because you feel like Maud would have been that person. She would you know,
- 13:37she would have gone along with Flanders, but at times she would have
- 13:39gone she seemed like the strong one in the relationship. She would have gone,
- 13:43ned, they're fine, let them be there. Yeah. But and
- 13:46also he has that fear because of what happened to Maud as well. Exactly
- 13:48right. So having that story or having that idea for a story, I
- 13:52think, I think it's fantastic. And having Marge as the person who has
- 13:56to sort of help him out in that regard works a treat. That's right
- 14:00now. As he said at the start, they need never B plot and
- 14:03the B plot about the monkey kidnapping Bart, and you know, this is
- 14:09a monkey Mother's lost, a monkey children. Thematically, it ties in,
- 14:13I guess, but it just felt so shoddily executed or it didn't gel with
- 14:22the other one even though it felt like it should. So Dana said in
- 14:26the commentary that his kids really liked the two thousand and five King Kong,
- 14:31so he wanted to work that into a story. Then they go, and
- 14:33he goes, even though we've a you know, we've already done that on
- 14:37the show in the Halloween, but you know, I wanted to do one
- 14:39with Barth. I thought Bart would have been a good character to use to
- 14:41the King Kong story. I'm like, I like the way that it did
- 14:46intertwine a sense that Rod climbed the steeple and he'd been doing that at the
- 14:48play center, So there's that's the way connected. But I know I'm watching
- 14:54this going. So Bart's been kidnapped to buy this monkey inside this cage and
- 15:00one female worker this entire place going, Oh, I don't know what to
- 15:01do. There's apparently there's a news report about it, but no one else
- 15:05is there helping. Why does no one just tranquilize it? Yeah, you
- 15:09can't think to call animal control this, Yeah, but it's just there by
- 15:11himself all night, And I'm like, this is too convenient for the story
- 15:16for me, like this, why is no one else going to help?
- 15:20Yeah? And what you were saying earlier, Sorry, just to go back
- 15:24a bit of talking about some of Homer's jokes that went on a little bit
- 15:28long or weren't even funny. They sort of like this is a joke in
- 15:33name only. Yeah, there's one of the very start with. I think
- 15:35Lenny and Carl they're talking about, oh, religion. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:41there's like they're they're playing the Halo game where they're trying to put the Halo
- 15:46on the on the Saints or whatever thought Saints had such fat heads, and
- 15:48you know they're talking about how, oh is this game a scam? No,
- 15:50just religion in general, and they're sort of playing it like a punchline,
- 15:54which it clearly is not. No. I'm just like, that's I
- 15:58know you think you're being I don't know what's controversial there, Like, oh,
- 16:03I can't believe it all said that, but I don't know, that's
- 16:06just making making a bold statement about religions, like not really do snay because
- 16:10it didn't. It's not funny or anything. I don't know. So there
- 16:14was sometimes and they emit this in the commentary that you know sometimes they blame
- 16:18budgets and I'm like, no, you can't blame the budget because you had
- 16:22a lesser budget in the early nighties and like this didn't happen. It was
- 16:26just a case of I think you guys just got a bit lazier. I
- 16:30think that may well be the case. I hate to break it to you
- 16:33guys, but yes, just straight up laziness. Take it down. Someone
- 16:36who knows. Yeah, if you're looking for a podcast, it'll always be
- 16:41there for you. Look no further than our new show that one About Friends,
- 16:44hosted by myself and my incredible wife, Nicola. She is literally the
- 16:48biggest Friends fan I know. So who better to help me as we revisit
- 16:51every single episode of the show, discussing the characters, fashion trends, and
- 16:55how this iconic series still relates to our lives to this day. But one
- 16:59of our friends is if Elble Now on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you find
- 17:03your podcast. Hey, my favorite. So what were your favorite moments from
- 17:08the episode and how a child was sad? Cry? If I can't go
- 17:18out and make a child sad on my own, the least I can do
- 17:21is watch it on The Simpsons exactly. This is shoddy research on my part,
- 17:26but please refresh me refresh my memory of the name of the baseballer who
- 17:30makes the cameo, Landy Johnson. Randy Johnson. Yeah, I was for
- 17:33some reason, I was thinking Ross Johnson. That's not right, but but
- 17:38Randy is always right. Apparently he was doing his stretches in between takes in
- 17:41the studios, the only person who was doing stretches because he was apparently during
- 17:45during his rehabilitation from an injury, so he had to keep his stretches going
- 17:49that's a very wise move. You should stretch down. No one should stretching,
- 17:56as I forgot because I used to stretch all the time playing football.
- 17:57Obviously i'n't playing football for ten years. And the other day went for a
- 18:00run and I didn't stretch. First, I was like, ah shit,
- 18:03it's like I'm so painful, but doing the stretches before I run. The
- 18:07other day I was like, I feel it so much more loose. I'm
- 18:10ready to go. I'm repped up. I'm reading. Yes, stretch every
- 18:14morning and night. I highly recommend it, even if it's just for like
- 18:15five minutes. Do it. Yes, your pals damn the one I tell
- 18:18you, do stretch morning and night exact. But but I liked I like
- 18:23Brandy just being very specific about what bears can do and can't do. A
- 18:27bear can't be a malt, it can't be at all. No. But
- 18:32was that a play on beanie babies? I guess, I guess so.
- 18:34But because beanie babies word bears, right, I never got into beanie babies.
- 18:38I think beanie babies were all manner of or were they be they beanie
- 18:41bears? There's beanie babies. I remember they used to be like these little
- 18:45bears like full of beads or whatever, and people used to go ape shit
- 18:48for them, and they got replaced by funko pops. Yeah yeah, I
- 18:52remember whenever I would go to the zoo with the lady in my life,
- 18:59we invariably pick up a little um stuffed animal. We had a few of
- 19:03them by the end, like one of these things will be for kids,
- 19:04and then we didn't have kids. Um so enough about that. But I
- 19:12think I don't have kids because then all you do is try and make him
- 19:15cry all the time. That's it's like your tears make me laugh? What
- 19:22else that I enjoy? I'm I'm a sucker for a word players, you
- 19:26know. So Ned being a bit of a music efficient this time around was
- 19:30kind of fun. I mean, what he's talking about is one of my
- 19:33kids are brazen cantos A shout out to the Led Zepplin song Dazed and Confused.
- 19:37I thought that wasn't too bad, and then I'm amazed that Ned knew
- 19:44the lyrics to Welcome to the Jungle and then was able to fashion them into
- 19:48Welcome to the Jungle gym. Yes, well, I feel like Flanders does
- 19:52his research, so he researches all the Devil's music just so he can preach
- 19:56why you shouldn't be listening to it. So he's done his research so he
- 19:57knows all the well what I was listening to Working to the Jungle yesterday because
- 20:02shout out by the way to muppet Mayhem, Muppets Mayhem, Muppet Mayhem.
- 20:04Yes, I think it's called on Disney Plus the new series. Great show,
- 20:08really good show, recommended for anyone of all ages. But it has
- 20:14a lot of old school music in there, so they're covering a lot of
- 20:15old songs. And one of the songs is rock and Roller all Night,
- 20:18So we're putting it on Rock and Roll all Night. So it's like it's
- 20:21introducing kids and my kids to like old school rock and roll music. And
- 20:25they were put on Spotify and then the next song started playing automatically played back
- 20:27into the Jungle. And I'll say to Nikola, is there a better light
- 20:30track one on a rock album? Then fucking Welcome to the Jungle, Like
- 20:34what other track one on a rock album goes, this is what You're gonna
- 20:37go? Gets you in the mood for a fucking heavy rock time. Welcome
- 20:41to the Jungle's gonna be up there, though maybe maybe he smells like teen
- 20:42Spirit on never mind. O think if I think about those as like track
- 20:47ones on which one like, those two are going to be right at the
- 20:48top for best track one on an album of all time? Right, absolutely?
- 20:52I mean I'm as much as I love Navana, I might have to
- 20:56give Gunners the edge here. Yeah, I think, yeah, Welcome to
- 21:00the Jungle is just yeah, it's a real announcement. It's like, well,
- 21:03exactly right. And I think the thing is, as much as I
- 21:07love Nirvana, my mum will still listen to Welcome to the Jungle, where
- 21:11she won't listen to smells like Teen Spirit. I feel like there's they're similar,
- 21:15but they're different in the sense that I feel like Welcome to the Jungle
- 21:18has so much more commercial appeal than what smells like Teen Spirit does, if
- 21:21that makes sense. Like, smells like teen spirits the perfect song for when
- 21:23you're angst and yeah fu the you know, fuck the world and that kind
- 21:26of thing. But Welcome to the Jungle is just you can just put it
- 21:29on at any party and everyone's like fucking yeah, yeah, it smells like
- 21:34teens the World, But Welcome to the Jungle is fun the world. Yeah.
- 21:37Yeah, and and particularly because it was their first album as well,
- 21:41just announcing yourself with authority as you said, Yeah, it's yeah, smells
- 21:44like Teen Spirit is a shrug of fun the world. Man. It's like,
- 21:48if you're listening to girls, you're gonna go fuck the world. I'm
- 21:52just I'm just gonna make sure that never mind. Actually, I'm pretty sure
- 21:55smell with Teen Spirit was track one. If I'm like, I'm gonna look
- 21:56like knitted if it wasn't, because for some reason my mind it was one.
- 22:00I was looking through here. I Walking to the Jungle definitely was number
- 22:02one. I'm scrolling down to tra yes was like Teen Spirits number one.
- 22:04Yeah, of course, I'm like, I know I'm right, but I
- 22:07just want to make sure. But you're right, though, But I enjoyed,
- 22:11so I enjoyed home going to see margin old Man Flanders. I just
- 22:15love old Man Old Man whoever like Old Man Davis won't throw the frisbee back.
- 22:22But I there's a moment in this episode that I'm not even gonna lie.
- 22:23I actually teared up for a second there, right, and they followed
- 22:27up with a gag whatever. But when I said. I was like,
- 22:30oh, fuck, that's like beautiful. When he says and guy, can
- 22:34you please tell on me to come to daddy in his dreams and tell him
- 22:37how to cut her sandwiches? I was like, fuck, man, like
- 22:40that is so fucking sad. It's just like so nice. At the same
- 22:44time, I know, it just makes me if I'm talking about it,
- 22:45like tear up. And you imagine, like these kids don't have their mother
- 22:48anymore, and you can imagine some kids will just be like like just little
- 22:52things like cutting your sandwich is the right way now we love Daddy doesn't quite
- 22:56do it the way mummy did it. And I'm like, yeah, that's
- 22:57just I thought that was a brilliant line. Yeah, next question you there
- 23:03eating the beast. It is trivia time, which means it is also time

- 25:56shout out to mister Davis at this time. Now for sum trivia, let's
- 25:59get into it. Hit me with your first question. I've had a very
- 26:02many, but I'll certainly hit with one. At the animal retirement place,
- 26:07where is the bathroom located or by the rhino cage? Indeed, next to
- 26:12the rhino cage. It makes me sad that the rhinos are in a cage
- 26:17and not an enclosure. That's yeah, that is see are you making me
- 26:23so? I know? My first question is what color was Flanders rubber duck?
- 26:29No idea, I'm gonna say red. It was purple. Okay,
- 26:33Then when's the race at the very end there? Yes, um, where
- 26:37did the secular humanist go to college? What? What when they're playing Christian
- 26:45clue? Oh shit? Okay, yeah, now I wasn't paying attention.
- 26:48What was it? He has the boorish manners of a Yale That's right,
- 26:52yes, all right. My next one is what does Rod climb at the
- 26:56Fun Center? It's Mount Verty Cools Mount VERTI cool. I thought it was
- 27:03a good name. Yeah, I liked that. I thought that was really
- 27:03Yeah, that was pretty nice and I like that, you know, subtly
- 27:07plays into the ending as well. By the way, we're talking about that
- 27:11place. What is the name of the fund Center? It's that's fun Zone.
- 27:18No, it's got Fund Zone. At the end it's something rough and
- 27:25it's like rough and tumbles or something. It is awesome. For some reason
- 27:30in my head, I was like, rumble stillskin, that's that's not right.
- 27:33And my final question is what is mister Tenney's real name? It's Lewis's
- 27:38Lewis, yeah, yeah, or Louis because I know some people spelled Lewis
- 27:42Louis. We had a kid at primary school who's spelled Lewis but was pronounced
- 27:45Louis so annoying, so it was his l o U I s yeah,
- 27:51but his name was Louis but not pronunciation. Yes, so it's Louis.
- 27:57Yeah. Any final, anymore questions for me? Where was Nelson going to
- 28:02live? Ah? No, you've got me. What was it? Because
- 28:06I know it was someplace like a crusty, made up funny town or something
- 28:11like that. He's gonna he was going to live at Cuckoo Corners. Cuckoo
- 28:14Corners. Alrighty, I'll tell you what. If you're looking for the best

- 28:56of Bart Has Two Mummies was March nineteen. It's two thousand and six.
- 29:00It was written by Dana Goold and directed by Michael Mark Cantel. Guest start
- 29:04Antonio Fargus as Huggy Bear, Susan Surrandon as herself as the male on the
- 29:10computer, Randy Johnson as himself, and Dave Thomas as Bob Hope. The
- 29:14episode kicks off with the church fundraiser, which does not count as church.
- 29:18I've just got to hear a really stupid gag from Carl and Lenny about religion
- 29:22being a big scam. It's just, I don't know, it's one of
- 29:26a joke, just a statement. You know, it's one of those it's
- 29:27one of those moments where you know when you're growing up, and it's that
- 29:30one person at a party when you're a teenagers was like, yeah, everything's
- 29:33a scam and so everything and they make ship at outlanded statements like this,
- 29:37and he's like, you're just you're no fun, Like we also know,
- 29:41but we don't fucking care. This person is clearly longing for you know,
- 29:48spirited, robust political debate and no, no thanks, and get the mirror
- 29:55that shows you what you look like. And how Lisa runs off scare but
- 29:59burns as a king. And then Reverend love Joy here says they're raising funds
- 30:03to have a bigger steeple than the Episcopal Church, which is a little callback
- 30:06to the episode a few episodes ago where it was the Simpsons Christmas Stories.
- 30:11Was it not, yeah, we're talking about the Episcopalian Church or something.
- 30:15Yes. Yeah, So it's a little bit of a payoff here, and
- 30:17they want to he wants a bigger stepel because it's to compensate for his um,
- 30:21you know, his own sense of smallness. And then we get the
- 30:23rubber duck race and the winner of the robber Duck race will get a home
- 30:26computer. I've never done a race like this because to me, this isn't
- 30:29a race, this is put your thing in the water and just hope that
- 30:32you win. It's yeah, winn't raised by any form of skill. It's
- 30:37just you let your thing go on the water and see where the water goes.
- 30:38Yeah. It's why I have a problem with some games of chance.
- 30:44I mean, I'm not much of a gambler anyway, but if I want
- 30:47to gamble, I think i'd want to do something that had some degree of
- 30:49skill, like poker or twenty one or you know, even that's still chance.
- 30:53You know, that is still chance as well. But I mean you're
- 30:56also playing the person against him, but like something like rules, it's like
- 31:00that's pure as yeah, yeah, or even dice, you know. But
- 31:04we're like, oh, I'm feeling lucky. To know It's like you'd better
- 31:07feel lucky because you know, you know, you know who's taken the wheel
- 31:11here Physics the first doctor gross the finish line wins this home computer. That's
- 31:18the new Phoenick, the computer design just for women. You've got male voice
- 31:23is Susan Serandon. You've got mail, unlike the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay get
- 31:30informed. Don't worry, March Me and Terrible too here are gonna win that
- 31:37computer for you. How can you be sure he wants it? The race
- 31:41begins and Homer says he's going to begin operations Slot Edge, So he starts
- 31:45shooting some of the ducks out of the water, but unfortunately his duck goes
- 31:48into the old mill. Little cheat, he goes into the old mill.
- 31:51Let me just get the scene with him going through all the different yeah,
- 31:55yeah, with hogs and stuff, and which I'm sure they've alluded to in
- 31:59the past. It mean, it's a bit like that Charlie Chaplin Modern Times
- 32:01thing where he's sort of going through the gears and that they've done visual sort
- 32:06of shoutout to that on The Simpsons before. Well. Something I really did
- 32:08like though, was the music that they use. I would say this is
- 32:12the music they always used for things, because it's the same music they use
- 32:15in the Beer Barren episode when Homer Bowl is the bowling ball down. Yeah,
- 32:19I remember it from old Looney Tunes cartoons, and it wasn't necessarily the
- 32:22ones with Bugs Bonny or Daffy Duck. It was usually ones where you've got
- 32:28a gambling addicted cat or dog goes to a casino that's run by this very
- 32:35shady type who if you can't pay your debts, they do all matter not.
- 32:39There's nothing, yeah, and but there's always playing that music. I
- 32:44don't exact music, that's exactly what it is, okay, I said,
- 32:49okay, yeah, because it's perfect for this kind of scene definitely, where
- 32:52things are sort of going through like a I don't know, a series of
- 32:55events, you know, yeah, but I just know it felt like it
- 32:59when a little bit too long, it really did. Yeah, just sell
- 33:01a filler. And then Homer is just trying to say the duck from getting
- 33:05injured, that's why he's going through all these cog It goes into the old
- 33:07mill, ends up falling from Homer, but a real duck catches it just
- 33:09before it goes over the finish line. He then tries to steal back from
- 33:13the duck. The duck attacks Homer, he steals a back, throws it
- 33:15over the finish line, but it turns out to be a real duck because
- 33:20he wish too hard and it became real because Flanders then wins, and he
- 33:22has his favorite kind of smart surprise Mile mild and then we you know,
- 33:28Marge comforts Homer saying, don't worry. The main thing is that you tried.
- 33:30And then we get your favorite moment with Bart being sad. Oh no,
- 33:37I'm evil. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, but to me,
- 33:38I can I can see you know you enjoyed it. But for me,
- 33:42though, I was just like, I don't mind moments like this if
- 33:45it plays a role, a weight on the episode, but just being cruel
- 33:47and mean for the sake of being cruel and me And I'm just like,
- 33:51but they've done this so often. Yeah, I don't like it anytime there's
- 33:55a great line. I mean, it's a gentleman thief episode, you know.
- 34:02And even still my stamp collection, everyone stamp collection. Everyone's pointing at
- 34:06him my life, and Les said the Barts paint is Barts paint is funny,
- 34:09but mine is actual, genuine I'm like, yeah, I d percent
- 34:15agree with you, Lisa. Maybe it's the I think I've obviously I think
- 34:19I've changed since becoming a dad, But when you see your kid, you're
- 34:22like your your own child actually like genuinely sad. It really like for mean
- 34:30mate, boils my blood. It would be heartbreaking and gear grinding. And
- 34:34when I see like another kid do something that makes my kid feel this way,
- 34:37I just want to punch that kid in the head. This is wholly
- 34:40understandable. Even even you know, a blackhearted monster like myself understands that.
- 34:45Yeah. Yeah, so I think I think I just sort of whenever I
- 34:47see things like this now, I think of like Elliott being sad, and
- 34:51I'm like you monster. Flanders gives the Simpsons the computer because he has no
- 34:55use for it because you know, there's no female in the house and I
- 34:59don't know. So he doesn't like the idea of people googling one another.
- 35:01That makes you strangers. Yeah, googling makeing skin crow, as he said.
- 35:05And then he asked Marge because he's got to go to the left the
- 35:09left the convention. So she says, there is there anything I can do
- 35:12for you know, you give me this computer, and he says, can
- 35:14you babysit my kids? Why go to the convention? They use their little
- 35:15dictionaries to understand one another? Yeah, yeah, this is the thing.
- 35:20That computer seems like an elaborate set up to get Marge the babysit the kids.
- 35:23When like that computer bears No has no burying on the episode as well,
- 35:28another that's always all it Like, you could not just have Flanders knock
- 35:30on the front door and say hey, m Joe, I reckon your babysit
- 35:34the kids to night. Like there's like five minutes of this fucking, stupid,
- 35:37fucking church festival thing with a rubber duck race that made no sense,
- 35:43that there's no point, no point. It certainly did not. No,
- 35:46I'm all about just like get into the story. You need to have a
- 35:52little bit of time at the start to sort of set things up. But
- 35:55this went on for so long and that's so point the pointless, that's the
- 36:00thing. Yeah, And then Marge arrives to babysit and he says, the
- 36:04last time we had a babysitter she let the kids watch Comedy Central. So
- 36:07no Ruddner, no Rita Rudder. Is she a bad bad influence? She's
- 36:14not at all. In fact, Yeah, I mean I think it's part
- 36:15of the jokers that her comedy is actually very vanilla and she's got a very
- 36:20sort of unthreatening presence. Um, I don't know if you would have seen
- 36:24her on Australian TV at all. Down and she came out to Australia a
- 36:29fair bit's a regular on heyyed Saturday. Yeah, just not looking at it,
- 36:35Yeah yeah, yeah. And she's got that kind of He's got a
- 36:38very sort of sweet voice like this, and you know she'll talk about things
- 36:43that happen in relationships, and you know she'll make quite piercing comments, but
- 36:47they'll be in this very very sweet voice like this. So um yeah,
- 36:52I mean, of course she'd be the kind of person who would threaten the
- 36:55Flanders family. Yeah, she's very very vanilla. But then he gives Marge
- 37:01or the emergency numbers and the closest people have other kids blood type, and
- 37:06Carl being one of them. And then they say, and I feel sorry
- 37:09for these kids because like they lives. I mean, they're little, they're
- 37:13little nerds, but like this is all they've known. It's like, let's
- 37:15have a sitting still contest, hands folded and Marge is sitting there. Even
- 37:22Marge gets bored. She's like, no, no, because she's Marge is
- 37:23a good mum in the sense that she lets her kids running while but she
- 37:25also knows how to rain them in. She's like, no, it's a
- 37:28tie, you know, were number two, let's go do something different where
- 37:30we cut to the convention and today's seminar is ambidextrous lefties in denial. And
- 37:36then he get get Randy Johnson seeing with selling his bears and fans just gets
- 37:40like it's almost like the mafia, just like you bar these are rain chairs,
- 37:45boxes of a thousand. Also, they're just disturbing with their big hand
- 37:51with one big hand. Yeah, what are you going to replace Funko pops?
- 37:53Because they're on the they're on the downtrend now, No, they're my
- 37:58retirement plan. That ptruds me. If you've got them, sell sal Cell
- 38:01because they ain't going up in futting you, my friend. No, their
- 38:06most superannuation. Yeah hitting, they are hitting the rock bottom at the moment.
- 38:09But um, but Star Wars we get the margin the kids making Star
- 38:14Wars mass or just making masks out of paper plates and I'm a Star Wars.
- 38:16So there's always a screensh that gets shared around on May fourth of Ralph
- 38:21dressed as Princess Leiah where he says I'm a Star Wars. So I guess
- 38:25they just copied the same line or that's a fake meme, but it doesn't
- 38:29actually say that because Marge says the line here, I think I think it's
- 38:32a fake meme. I think they've taken the picture and they've they've crossed the
- 38:36line on it. Maybe that's I guess that's what happened, because I can't
- 38:38remember the episode in which it happens. But yeah, I'm a Star Wars.
- 38:42So they spook each other with their masks, and I like the I'm
- 38:45a permission slip so tied. That's permission to have fun. And thank you
- 38:52God for letting missus Simpson come over. It was the most fun we've had
- 38:55since Marmie was here. And could you ask Mommy to come to Jeddy in
- 39:01a dream and tell him and to kind of a sandwiches and please tell Missus
- 39:07Simpson it's rude to eavesdrop on our prayers, but we forgive her. And
- 39:14then Flanders says, you know, you can babysit the kids anytime, which
- 39:16is what about home? I don't want He's watching the kids and they're jousting
- 39:21and just being menaces. Basically, you see Lisa be a bit reckless as
- 39:24well. That's true. Yeah, I mean it was so seemingly out of
- 39:29character. Third, that was awesome, especially when the last episode ended all
- 39:32like a couple episodes ago ended where she's like, all right, it's just
- 39:36me and you now, Maggie, and I'm like, I'm so, I'm
- 39:38sick of seeing Lisa acting like an adult. I want to see sort of
- 39:42like Lisa again. Yes, it was nice to get this moment, but
- 39:45we come back from commercial in Virodent totter on their seesaw. What do they
- 39:47call it in the States. It's not a seesaw, it's a Marge calls
- 39:51it something else. Oh yeah, that's right, tittle no tita something tita,
- 39:59tito, totta, I think something anyway. But yeah, they got
- 40:00the Chuck's underneath and she's like, let's go freestyle and a narstortle moment playing
- 40:06but Behoven's Ninth Symphony, I think it was. It wasn't ee yeah music
- 40:12that's just symbolic with frolican freedom sess but and it's also what they used in
- 40:19the intro to Everybody Loves Raymond for a good while there. Yeah, but
- 40:23yeah, I thought it was just a nice moment where you know, they've
- 40:25realized, now, this is what life is like, this is what this
- 40:28thing is supposed to be, and there now in bed, and Marge is
- 40:31watching late night TV the bumblebee Man talk Show, which whatever, and Homer
- 40:36arrives in his varsity jacket. I heard him study all you were babysitting tonight,
- 40:45Homer, We're not in high school so much. In tomorrow's game,
- 40:51I'm going to recover a fumble just for you. Oh well, maybe you'll
- 40:55run it in for a touchdown. Don't press your movie good enough with it
- 41:00from my good Well, maybe we can take your mind off things by studying
- 41:05for the sat Snuggles and tickles O Flanders, Hey, Homer, sneak and
- 41:23kisses from the missus Springfield High football rules. These guys have a good sex
- 41:28life. I like that margin just sort of you dangerous. Oh yeah,
- 41:31no, I'm a bit of role play. That's quite marvelous. And then
- 41:37unfortunately old man Flanders arrives, and even when Flanders sees him, he's like,
- 41:40uh, sneaking some kisses from the missus. Yeah. I love that
- 41:44everyone's kind of sex positive in Springfield. And I love that Homer doesn't break
- 41:50character. No, no Springfield new rules or something spring springfel House goal football
- 41:54rules. And he jumped the fence aheads himself. Then Barton Lisa asking him
- 41:59for a lift somewhere, and Lisa suggests the Why does she suggest this place?
- 42:02Can we go to the Showbiz for Retirement home for the animals? I'm
- 42:06like why. I'm guessing that she might think that it's, you know,
- 42:10a place where you know, the horse that played National Velvet runs free and
- 42:15you know you've got various sort of various lassies just you know, enjoying their
- 42:21golden news soaking up the sun. I guess because she didn't know it was
- 42:22going to be at how Hold, did she? Yeah, she didn't know
- 42:25it was going to be like something had a planet of the apes. Also,
- 42:28this also nearly made my favorite moments as well. I should have put
- 42:30it in there. Yeah, just once I finished watching my show and a
- 42:32DVD fucking screen. I used to love it when there was like pong y,
- 42:38Yeah, watching it. Oh, there it goes, and you always
- 42:42think, is it gonna hit the corner? Just missed the corner? Yeah,
- 42:45I'm just about to say, it's like, is it on that trajectory
- 42:49just hit right in the corner? No, bugger, Like what what?
- 42:52I'm happy to have had it hit just the right in the corner there.
- 42:53Yeah. Yeah, it's just where Bart refers to them as nim Rod and
- 42:58nim Todd. That was pretty funny. Yeah yeah, and when he walked
- 43:00in, Yeah, and then um say his little help he here over hears,
- 43:04so he gets a bit panicky. The thing is that joke doesn't work
- 43:06though, because he's not a showbiz dog. He's a showbised dog in a
- 43:08sense that he's on the Simpsons, but in their universe he's just their pet
- 43:12dogs. So why is he doing this? I don't know, but I
- 43:15like met a joke on the part of the Simpsons runs like, oh,
- 43:17he's a showbiz dog, even though he's not really showed his dog. Homer
- 43:21hoping the gremlins are there, I'm going to get them so wet, that's
- 43:25okay. They arrive at the at the pet home and there's cemetery full of
- 43:30lasses. They see Huggy Bear from a Starsky and Hutch heard I'm not a
- 43:35real bear voiced by the actual Antony or Fargus. Yes, yeah, he
- 43:40was played by Snoop Dog I believe in the film, wasn't he he was?
- 43:44Indeed? Yeah, that was very very good casting. I mean I
- 43:46can sort of take a leave Snoop dog in a lot of situations. I
- 43:50don't think I've ever heard a Snoop Dogg's song. I've heard him like feature
- 43:52in a couple of songs, and I think I've ever listened to any of
- 43:53his music. I just know it's purely from from his pop culture appearances.
- 43:58But like, and he's men you log ads he has Yeah, yeah,
- 44:00true, but he has just lived his best life, hasn't he, Snoop
- 44:04dog He really has. I was like pushing it's like pushing sixties. He's
- 44:10over sixty hour. I think like he's he's getting there in age and he's
- 44:15just kicking on fucking. He was at wrestle Many this year. He's just
- 44:17living his best life. Man. Oh okay, speaking of wrestle man,
- 44:22Yeah, did you start a podcast without me? Yeah? Well, do
- 44:24you want to talk about wrestling? No? I mean I could, but
- 44:30it'd be like I would occasionally drop terms like kfabe in a in a vein
- 44:37effort to express that I knew what I was talking about when I really don't.
- 44:40I bet we'd better leave it to Elliot j O'Neill, Dando's co host
- 44:45on, Am I getting this right? Good day? Ew Yeah, so's
- 44:49to take off of a w obviously, but when he sent me through the
- 44:51name, say when I knew that he sent me through saying you want to
- 44:53do an wrestling podcast called good AW, I'm like, well, I can't
- 44:55pass that opportunity up. It's just an Australian wrestling Australian wrestling podcasts called good
- 45:00Aw. Just it just works. It certainly does. So if you're a
- 45:06fan of grappling, give that one to listen. Yeah, it's available on
- 45:10all your podcast services now, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and it will be
- 45:14coming out every single Thursday. We're reviewing the last episode of AW Dynamite,
- 45:19just to start with just the test of waters, and we'll eventually start doing
- 45:21some more retro wrestling episodes and pay per views and things like that in modern
- 45:24WWE right kind of stuff. But you'll start small and work our way out
- 45:28because I've already got plenty of other ship we're gonna be doing here, including
- 45:30a new show that we're going to be launching very very soon asterday. It
- 45:34may have already launched by the time this episode airs, which is incredibly excited,
- 45:37which you can't mention yet, because we don't know when this is going
- 45:38out. But big things happening at fourth and Discount Network. That's all we
- 45:42have to say. We're so busy, we are so busy, but so
- 45:45we arrived there. Huggy bears there and he says, cover the seat with
- 45:49tissue, the toilet paper. Do you do that? I do that when
- 45:51I go to a public toilet, I cover the seat with toilet paper.
- 45:53I do not. I do because I'm just like, I just know people
- 45:58pistol over this all the time. It's just how often do they really get
- 46:00cleaned? Let's be honest. Yeah, that's true. I'll look at it.
- 46:04If it looks especially revolting, of course, I'll give it a quick
- 46:07once over. But I figured my ass has got about as many germs as
- 46:10the as the sea will have. I think it's it's a fight of equals.
- 46:14You know what's more disgusting. I will never forget because you know,
- 46:17when you get to a nightclub and the torts just rank right, let's piss
- 46:20everywhere, and they're full, and things like I'll never forget when this chick
- 46:23walked in to the boys toilets barefoot, holding her heels, walking through the
- 46:28mail toilet and went and took a piss in the toilet, and I was
- 46:30like, you're a disgusting like not because you're a chick pin in the gust,
- 46:34just like bare Foot in these the four must have been just oh,
- 46:40I don't want to think about it. I was just like, I'm going
- 46:44to marry that gal. I overstand that you're not looking back and going that
- 46:46is the grossest thing I've ever seen in my life. But it's probably as
- 46:52I'm due with a foot fetish. They're going so hot, so wet,
- 46:57that's so grainy. But they see Toot Toot, who's really really sad.
- 47:01She used to be Tum Tum in Teen Tarzan's Eco Adventures, which sounds like
- 47:06a show. It does, doesn't it. Yeah, Yeah, she's all
- 47:09sad and she's crying and she misses her kids because they're also in show business.
- 47:14We don't find out that one of them missed a teen until later in
- 47:15the episode. But but uh, his ice cream. But she takes him
- 47:21instead. But son's been ap napped. No, the prefix applies to the
- 47:23victim is still kidnapped, and she starts grooming him and the work of his
- 47:27panics and says there's nothing we can do so to distract her, and she
- 47:30shows him Flipper, who was also unfortunately passed away. I'm just like,
- 47:32though, there's no one else here that can help. Homer manages to get
- 47:38there with a tranquilizer in a pipe, like he's worked this shit out.
- 47:42What what's going on here? Who? Who was visiting this place? Were
- 47:47you? I know? But surely the word would have got out up the
- 47:52first person showed up, kid, get on the help and say, do
- 47:55not go there. Can we fix this please? Yeah, that's the thing,
- 48:00Like for the rest of the episode. Surely Lisa's should have had a
- 48:02great with his place, right, I'm just about to say, yeah,
- 48:08this sort of runs counter to everything that Lisa stands for. Yeah, I
- 48:12don't think girl. I think Danta knows how to write Lisa because he had
- 48:19her acting like I mean as I lied to. He had her acting very
- 48:22unleasa ish in that in that jazzing scene. And now she goes to this
- 48:24place that she suggested. It's terrible. It's the opposite of what she thought
- 48:29was going to be. It's against everything she believes in. And she's like,
- 48:30yeah, whatever, ye carry on. But then Flanders. He finds
- 48:36a band aid rapper on the floor, and he finds out that I believe
- 48:39it was Todd cut himself on the knife and Christian clue. So he sends
- 48:43him to bed and makes them crawl up the steps. And I was like,
- 48:45I'm not sure I like this version of Flanders, but I understand clans
- 48:47would be like this because he's just so overprotective. Now, I know you'll
- 48:51like to worry, but these boys are never going to get self confidence unless
- 48:53you let them try things for themselves. I just can't. They're all I've
- 48:58got. It's that same day when Maud found eternal happiness. I thought they
- 49:02might enjoy it if I took them here. Everything's covered in fun and it's
- 49:07onn by a corporation, so you know it's safe. Well, your mascot
- 49:12is a kneepad wearing a helmet. Why not? So we're now having dinner.
- 49:16Marge asked where Bart is, and this is where Homes goes into his
- 49:19patronizing, sarcastic rant about revealing the whole thing, but doing it in a
- 49:23sarcastic way. I don't know. It didn't wait for me. This,
- 49:27it's just, yeah, it feels like a drug that's been done before,
- 49:30yeah, but this time stretched out to unfeasibly weird dimensions. I mean,
- 49:37have him used the sarcastic voways with Marge and then her just sort of brush
- 49:40it off and then realize that he can't switch it off, maybe say two
- 49:44lines to Lisa, I can't stop talking like that, and then sort of
- 49:49cut it off. As far as I'm concerned, I mean, it still
- 49:51wouldn't be a quote unquote a comedy classic. I have serious mental problems.
- 49:55I was just like I just felt unnecessary to me. But Bart tries to
- 49:59leave, like, look, it's been great, but I miss my indoor
- 50:00plumbing. But she takes him back, and obviously in Banana, and the
- 50:04sad thing is that, like Tutt's not a villain here, she just misses
- 50:07the kids. That's what She's trying her best to make Bart feel loved and
- 50:12welcome. She's just trying to replace that emptiness that she feels when not having
- 50:15a kids around with Bart. And Bart's like like Bart gets it too,
- 50:19but it's like no one's helping. This is sad. What's going on here?
- 50:23She's a really good mum. Yeah, she's she's cleaning, she's feeding.
- 50:28You know, she's big with the cuddling, playing swing all night?
- 50:31Yeah, what more do you want from my mother? Exactly? They wake
- 50:35up the next morning. I did like the transition of she's been playing swing
- 50:37all night, Bart's tied. She's just like, let's just keep going.
- 50:39And then he Homer wakes up and eats the peach full of anti freeze that
- 50:44he's going to give her. I don't know. We're out at the play
- 50:47center, rob Rob Rod, I should say, is climbing Mountain Vertical.
- 50:52There's where Flanner sneaks into to oversee and watching spy on Marge and he sees
- 50:57Rod, right, you're gonna get hurt. I was like, I know,
- 51:00I can totally relate to this like I have when I say Lisa,
- 51:04I don't finely say Holy or Elliott climbing things, I instantly panic and I
- 51:07need to stop so much. I see a lot of myself in Flanders here.
- 51:12Did you when Nicola was pregnant with Elias? And I imagine even before
- 51:17then, I imagine you were sort of thinking, this is the kind of
- 51:20dad I'm going to be. These are the kind of guidelines and rules,
- 51:22and I'm going to set for myself and you know that I want to pass
- 51:25on to my kid, and you know this is how I want to do
- 51:29it essentially. I mean, did that all that go out the window in
- 51:32the minute you're like, oh my god, it's a little guy. It's
- 51:36still that all goes out the window. Definitely with the first one, you
- 51:38are more protective when they're first born in the sense that like you try and
- 51:43tell like, yeah, your mum and dad or people who have had kids
- 51:45before, make sure you hold his neck. It's like they fucking know,
- 51:49and it's like they're look at your Mum's like, gets me the look is
- 51:52it to say, I raised you, I know what to done. I
- 51:54didn't forget how to keep a baby alive, like, but like you just
- 51:58can't help but be over protective. So I was definitely like that. Nicola
- 52:00was the same, but with the second one, I wasn't so much so.
- 52:02But I definitely thought I was going to let the kids run more wild.
- 52:07But I'm definitely more creative in the sense of trying to stop them from
- 52:09injuring themselves more so than I thought I was going to be. But it's
- 52:13like sometimes the other day says to Nicola, I'm like, is there fucking
- 52:15lot in life just to try and hurt themselves and find new ways to I'm
- 52:19like, I told you the story of the podcast a few weeks ago where
- 52:22Holly spilt food on herself and jammed a finger in a drawn and fell off
- 52:24the back of a chair in a space of like five minutes, and I'm
- 52:28like, far out, man, it sound like a Chris Farley guy.
- 52:34It's just like, what has happening here? But sometimes sometimes you have those
- 52:38moments. But the other times where I'm like, you know, Aliot's climbing
- 52:43this ladder and Aliet, let me get behind you. Sometimes I won't realize
- 52:45he's climbing ladder. He gets to the top and he's like, look what
- 52:46I did, And I'm like, oh, you did that and you didn't
- 52:51fall and hurt yourself. Maybe I'll just stand back and what you do you
- 52:52think? And then I stand back and let him do his thing and he
- 52:54proceeds to forethnote himself. But yeah, it's you. Definitely you have an
- 53:00idea of what you're going to be and you do keep that to an extent,
- 53:05but things do go out the window, like you said, because whom
- 53:09it's all you're just learning on the fly. That's all parenthood is. No
- 53:12one really knows how to be apparent. You just wing it as you go,
- 53:15making shit up as you go. But this is where Rod he panics
- 53:19because he was fired until Flanders made him feeling secure, and he falls and
- 53:22he chips his tooth on the on the wall. He chipped that tooth?
- 53:27How will he bite wheat thens? How? I'm sorry, man, I
- 53:31never thought this would happen. I don't want you watching my boys ever again.
- 53:38She must be an unfit mother. I don't know. If I saw
- 53:40a guy say this in a play center, I would be siding with her.
- 53:45I think just I wouldn't go, oh, she must be an unfit
- 53:47mother. I think I've got moving my response. If they're watching everything that's
- 53:52led up to that particular moment, or which maybe they haven't, but I
- 53:54mean, then's being loud enough that you think people would start paying attention.
- 53:59Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. I'd be definitely starting on chapter two
- 54:02that was probably gonna come out anyway. It's fine, it's fine, baby
- 54:06teeth, that's fine. Yes, But then we at the news report.
- 54:07She says, I am not an unfit mother. Cut to the TV news
- 54:10report and but as being had he's being kidnapped by a monkey, which has
- 54:15improved his high gena and posture, and his realm mother couldn't be found for
- 54:19comment. And then we get Homer eating the trunkildes a dart and he had
- 54:22to be revived by a police done gun. We come a from commotional planners
- 54:24and now setting up a safe play area to the tune of Welcome to the
- 54:28Jungle. I thought it was a good song. I liked it. It's
- 54:30not too bad, Welcome to the Jungle Gym. He he's got a bit
- 54:32of a future as a Wiggles esque entertainment, which is where the real money
- 54:37is. Welcome to the Jungle Gym. I'll make it safe again and playtime.
- 54:43He's a safe time. Everybody wins now laid down some after teris sold
- 54:47day. Don't scrape there, no, no, no, no, no,
- 54:49no in the knees. But then he says to the kids, you
- 54:52know we're gonna do. They say, what are you gonna do? Today?
- 54:54What all boys your age to look at bread? And I'm like,
- 54:58that might be the most fucking boring things Flanders has ever suggested. Look at
- 55:01bread, eat bread, just look at it, and they say the N
- 55:06word. No, they want Marge back because she makes him feel happy,
- 55:08not church happy, for real happy, and is where Flanders starts to go.
- 55:12Well, maybe she should be part of their wife again. Lisa then
- 55:15says Bart, you know, he's helping to cope because her and Homer are
- 55:19out the cage. Still no one around to help. It's just them there
- 55:22by themselves. I'm like, are there any other Are there any other visitors
- 55:24to this place? Are there any other workers or is it just that one
- 55:28worker there was? Clearly there was a news report there because there was a
- 55:30cameraman filming it. Why didn't know one happ the cops, the cops,
- 55:35the cops of them, but no one's out, like it's just it's a
- 55:37it's stupid really when you think about it, it's a really silly story.
- 55:39But you know, Homer says, no, monkeys don't have feelings. No,
- 55:44that would make my all my experiments cruel. Then Marge arrives out of
- 55:46the blue and she sees two kiss Bart's boo boo, as you said,
- 55:52good mother. She's looking after Bart, making him feel safe and helping him
- 55:57when he hurts his unt, hurts his knee, I think it was,
- 55:59or it hurts his hand. And Marge shows to talk to her mother,
- 56:00to mother, but when she does this, to simply escapes and takes but
- 56:05with her. Then we get another news report and it starts off with them
- 56:07mentioning that the hamburger was survived by his long time companion maybe cheese. We
- 56:12actually took the kids to McDonald's right on the weekend. It's for breakfast,
- 56:16right. It is such a sterile doctor's clinic vibe in that place. Now,
- 56:22I hate it it is, we said the other day it has gone,
- 56:25my friend, it's all computer screens and Ikea furnishings. Literally. And
- 56:31when Nicola wanted a piece of banana bread from the McCafe right, there's two
- 56:36people standing in McCafe doing nothing. I said, can I get a piece
- 56:38of banna bread please? And she goes, I go to order on the
- 56:40screen. I went, no, no, that's just there. I say,
- 56:44kind of give you some catch. She goes, no, we don't
- 56:45take cash in here, SHOs you neither? Go order over at the canter
- 56:47over there and I'll bring me the slip and I'll bring it to your table.
- 56:50Or order on the screen. Fuck it's there. She's like, I
- 56:54was gonna go to the system and I'm like, why do I have to
- 56:57walk over there to the computer screen when the bread right there? I hate
- 57:00this place. I hate those pos. Oh no, just making me so,
- 57:07I said Nicole Evan degree. She gets when I come back to McDonald's
- 57:08anymore, like it's done. It's just not fun. It sounds like I'm
- 57:13not missing anything. It's as I approach six months. Yeah, well schedulations.
- 57:16Yeah, do you feel like do you want it anymore? Or you
- 57:19just passed that point where you're like, nah, I don't want it as
- 57:23much as I used to. Let's say, yeah, I'm I imagine if
- 57:29I had someone I would just like, I would absolutely scarf it. I've
- 57:35never been I used to be likings a lot when I was younger, But
- 57:37I feel like you just once you out of your twenties, Like, what
- 57:39are you doing eating McDonald's. No, that just might feel like McDonald's fee
- 57:43when you're drunken, when a cheeseburger after a night out, But grow up.
- 57:50Thanks Dannard, that's good advice. I'm like, what's like, I
- 57:53always find the best chips because you think you love fries, don't you?
- 57:58So you love me Donald's chips. If you don't eat that shit straight away,
- 58:00it tastes like fucking cardboard. Oh it absolutely does. It's yeah horrible.
- 58:06Ye but but but you get him hot and oh yeah, you can't
- 58:12even tast any potato with him though. Man, it's just like eating batter.
- 58:15Yeah, that's exactly right. You get the tallow on the salt.
- 58:19Yeah, the actual physical chip is a delivery system for the fat and the
- 58:23salt. But where are we up to? Yea, so Marge, she's
- 58:28a long time companion cheese that. Yeah. So basically this is where Brockman
- 58:34says that Twotot has taken Bart to the top of the steeple, and it's
- 58:36like, oh, okay, so I see you going for a King Kong
- 58:37reference here. Yeah, it's because in the commentary at the start day and
- 58:40the day is like, I really want to get a King Kong story into
- 58:44this, and I'm like, we went through all that just to have a
- 58:45climbing a fucking steeple, Like one shot Cheese is christ but love Joy says
- 58:51before the pipe prepared and says, yeah, Bart sims a memorial steeple or
- 58:55whatever. Marge is really sad and upset. Lisa then randomly arrived miss A
- 59:00Tenny in the bag. How she got him in a bag? I don't
- 59:01know that is true, that's miss don't ask questions. Miss Tenny is like
- 59:07pretty big, right for a monkey, Like he's not like a baby monkey.
- 59:10Lisa just has him readily in the bag. Todd just straps into his
- 59:14back and climbs up a fucking steeple with him on his back, and let's
- 59:17get to the end quick, quickly. What is happening anyway? So I
- 59:22think I miss A Tenny in the Bag says that this is one of her
- 59:23kids, and I know the whole point that was meant to go, oh
- 59:27that's who. That's like his revelation, but I was just like, that
- 59:30doesn't make that's stupid to me. Anyway, she says we'll trade trade Teeny
- 59:34for Bart but it says I'll do it, and he's already climbing up planned
- 59:36his panic straight away you're gonna fall, and you know he gets I like
- 59:39the animation of the Vertigo. I thought it was really cool. Yeah that
- 59:43is good. Yeah, and yeah, look I like the tie in about
- 59:46you know mound vertical and and Rod climbing this. I mean, it's it's
- 59:51cheap, but it works. Definitely. Concern Marge says, you know,
- 59:54you need to they need to believe that they're gonna be okay on their own
- 59:58if you keep sort of scaring them like this, and they're never going to
- 1:00:00believe in themselves. And then he says, I've got on your side.
- 1:00:02You can't fail. And I was like, oh, is it fail or
- 1:00:05fall? Fall can't fail either way. I don't think that theory either.
- 1:00:09No, that's sort of taking agency out of Rod's hands and putting it into
- 1:00:14God's hand. Yeah. Yeah, And or that could be seen as flanned
- 1:00:17as then handborn in the blame to God and said of himself, well he
- 1:00:21falls, it's not my fault, God, God let him do it anyway.
- 1:00:23It's all it's all a big scam anyway, isn't it, Mister Davis?
- 1:00:25That that's a topic for another time, another past and Tiny have a
- 1:00:32big hug. They embraced me. Find out his real name is Lewis and
- 1:00:36Christ. He says he now needs a new side cook, side kick.
- 1:00:38And if all the time to not have such a mouse say anything this is
- 1:00:42what he appears and random scenes. It has all these elaborate fucking bits of
- 1:00:46dialogue here nothing nothing. I think Dana Good was trolling us. Yeah,
- 1:00:54but then climbs down and he says, don't touch me because it's gay,
- 1:00:58and he explains that gay me is that you were scarednere not. And it
- 1:01:00ends with Todd Rod saying, hey Dad, I'm gay. Missus Simpson made
- 1:01:05me gay and he looks at Marge annoyed. Okay, may as a test
- 1:01:10a little bit of a ship. This could be a shout out, or
- 1:01:13it could be a tie in. I don't know. But the title of
- 1:01:15this episode is but has Two Mummies, which is a reference to a book
- 1:01:20that came out in nineteen eighty nine I believe called Hither has Two Mummies,
- 1:01:23which is one of the first lgbt qia plus is it, oh okay okay
- 1:01:29children's book to sort of explain to kids, like, you know, not
- 1:01:31not every family as a mom and a dad. Some families have too.
- 1:01:35I just assumed it meant I've never read the story. I just read that
- 1:01:37and thought, well, it's from back then. It would not be referencing
- 1:01:40that. It would be referencing someone being divorced and having a stepmom in a
- 1:01:43real month. That's what I thought it was going to be. Okay,
- 1:01:45No, No, it's a book about sometimes families have two moms and this
- 1:01:51is that that that case, whether or not. But it's making time of
- 1:01:53that though. Yeah, it's painting homosexuality in a negative light through which achieved
- 1:02:00Flander's eyes is understandable. But then they have more looking down from heaven saying
- 1:02:05Oh, I'm so proud of my son. You could have totally ended this
- 1:02:07episode with such a fucking sweet moment and you had to throw in the Bob
- 1:02:10Hope and God again given God makes a gay because he says, oh,
- 1:02:15her son's more footy than this, And I'm like, and God laughs at
- 1:02:17that, and I was like, this is not a loving God. No,
- 1:02:22Like to me, I feel like if this was like Classics him it
- 1:02:24sounds a hate saying this, he feels like classic Simpsons. But if I'm
- 1:02:28writing this right, this is a big development in the relationship between Flander's kids
- 1:02:32and Flanner's Right. Yes, I wanted to end on an emotional beat because
- 1:02:36you know, it's got a really good, really good story in the sense
- 1:02:38that you're trying to tell here, have them embracing Right at the end,
- 1:02:43he says, thanks Dad for believing me, and more looks down from heaveness
- 1:02:45or something like you know, I'm so proud of my son or whatever,
- 1:02:47and just cut back to them just like hugging and Flanders like looking up into
- 1:02:51the sky with a big smile as if they say like he knows that Maud's
- 1:02:53looking down on them and with something sweet like that. I don't know that
- 1:02:57that's how I would have done it, That's how I would have done it.
- 1:03:00No, no, no, no, I think I think you're probably
- 1:03:02correct in that way, because, yeah, having God and Bob Hope timely
- 1:03:08reference for two thousand and six, by the way, having them as sort
- 1:03:15of douchebags, yeah, it feels very and I know I say this,
- 1:03:20it feels very response to family guy in South Parker being a bit edgy.
- 1:03:24Maybe we should try and have a bit of edges. So I was like,
- 1:03:28family guys, they've been a fly six to eight years by this point.
- 1:03:30It's like, I don't know. It annoyed me the ending. I
- 1:03:34was like, ah, yeah, when he saw the water, I was
- 1:03:35like, oh, oh okay. It was not a good ending. It
- 1:03:39looked as we often do on the on four Fingered discount. I found a
- 1:03:44bit more to enjoy in this episode than I did when I was actually watching
- 1:03:46it. But this was not that great an episode. As far as I
- 1:03:51clearly ld the Flanders story more than the Bee plot. I just thought the
- 1:03:54Bee plot was just Dana wanted to write a King Kong reference and crowned it
- 1:03:59in somewhere just I don't know. I didn't really enjoy that, But I
- 1:04:01liked the Flanders story. It felt more grounded and more real, more like,
- 1:04:05yeah, like a classic again, I said, classic seems, but
- 1:04:09more of an episode that felt like it was in the realm of the Springfield
- 1:04:12universe where monkey shit was just way too wacky for me. It's a silliness.
- 1:04:16Yeah, I agree with you. One from day forward. Your name
- 1:04:20droll me. It is the guy Davis. New name. Leaderboard Championship for
- 1:04:26BART has two mummies. The current leaderboard mister Davis stands at this still in
- 1:04:29first position, of course, is Luke McKay on twelve points. In second
- 1:04:31position we have Kyle muldoon on nine points, and in third position we have
- 1:04:36Heath Appleby and David Mott both on seven points. So who got the one
- 1:04:41two three? This week? The first point? The one point. Now,
- 1:04:45I don't know if this is quite right in terms of the story,
- 1:04:50but it's such a neat play on words that I just had to give it
- 1:04:54up. This is don't tell Mom the babysitters need I like that a lot.
- 1:04:58Yeah, that's one of those movies where I used to always see them
- 1:05:00at the video shop and they always had really cool covers. They had one
- 1:05:02of those covers that was like popped out, what's the world, but they
- 1:05:06saw bubble bubble covers. Yeah, I forgot like three D kind of where
- 1:05:11they saw. They weren't flat, they were they popped out. The horror
- 1:05:14movies were awesome back in the day, in the in the later nineties,
- 1:05:16they were the best. But that one point goes to oh again, there's
- 1:05:19last week Mark Boston Burchess with the one point again this week slowly time and
- 1:05:24that leaderboard coming on strong Boston. Yeah, that's why. Now on the
- 1:05:27four points, what's number two? Two points for chimpin pain't easy? That's
- 1:05:33that's like a wrestling term because there was a wrestler called the Godfather and used
- 1:05:38to say pippin ain't easy. You know who also said that? Who also
- 1:05:42said that? Pimps where there's a famous pin that said it though. But
- 1:05:48yeah, so chipping ain't easy by our man. Adam Woolhouse will done.
- 1:05:51Adam who's now on eight points wild one? Adam all right? Three points
- 1:05:57Woolhouse, Woolhouse in the house and three points four Smother's day, Smother's day.
- 1:06:03Very good indeed, or it's from our man, I reckon this one
- 1:06:05would have got sent in from the factory. It's Steve Roberts operating a heavy
- 1:06:11machinery. He's hidden sending in heavy wordplay. Nice work, Stevie. Yeah,
- 1:06:15so three points there goes to Steve Roberts. Okay, So the current
- 1:06:18leaderboard still at first position. We have Luke McKay on twelve Clever Kyle still
- 1:06:23in second position on nine points, but Adam Woolhouse is now climb to the
- 1:06:26third position outright on the eight points. It is tight up the top of
- 1:06:30that leaderboard. Twelve, nine and eight's getting very very tight the way you're
- 1:06:32like it, isn't it, mister Davis, I like a tight What can
- 1:06:35I tell you? Like a t Indeed, we got ourselves a horse race.
- 1:06:39It's fantastic. All right, It's now time for some mail back questions.
- 1:06:43Mail bad de Debail is here. Okay. First question comes from our
- 1:06:49dear friend a long time listen to, Dave Abbott Smith. I hope you're
- 1:06:53doing well, buddy, Dave says, those of you who got kidnapped and
- 1:06:56raised by gorillas, what's your relationship? What hang on you who got kidnapped
- 1:07:01and raised by gorillas? What's your relationship now? Bobo and I meet up
- 1:07:04on our birthdays and exchange Christmas cards. I think he's being silly. I
- 1:07:09think our friend Dave is being a bit silly with that one. I think
- 1:07:13I think he might be taking the piss so slightly. Andrew J. P
- 1:07:16Says what's your favorite zoo animal? Either the cutest or most entertaining. I've
- 1:07:19always been drawn to the meacats. I've always loved the meacats. I was
- 1:07:23about to say meacats as well, they're so cute. Yeah, I don't
- 1:07:27know. Obviously, I love the lion king when I was a kid.
- 1:07:29But the meat cats. You're looking and you're like, let's want to squeeze
- 1:07:31you. I want to picky. I'm going to take one of you home,
- 1:07:34and I love the gorillas and the chimps as well. But I always
- 1:07:39get sad by the end because I'm like, these guys are as smart as
- 1:07:41meg. Yeah, and they're in and you can see he can see that
- 1:07:45they know that they are just locked in the cage. You know. It's
- 1:07:48just it's cool at first, and then you just get sad then realize,
- 1:07:53oh my god, these guys are in jail. Yeah, and they and
- 1:07:58they know it too. Yeah. Yeah, I mean it's great seeing big
- 1:08:02animals, yeah, primates, big cats, rhinos and other such if you're
- 1:08:10if you're out on an open range. Yeah, but the bigger, the
- 1:08:14bigger they are, I think, the more sorry you feel for them.
- 1:08:16It's like, shouldn't be an enclosed spaces. Should be out there were running
- 1:08:20free, whereas little guys like say you're littler monkeys, Um, maybe you're
- 1:08:26smaller big cats and certainly are mere cats. Yeah. Yeah, it's like,
- 1:08:30well it's a jungle land there for you guys. Literally, Um,
- 1:08:34you might be safer in here. Yeahs did a real boost der ego with
- 1:08:40everyone just coming out and look how cute. This is the thing. I
- 1:08:44was talking to a friend recently who. You know, he's just got a
- 1:08:45new house and you know, looking good and loves his new place, got
- 1:08:48all this stuff they set up that he wants. And we're talking about taking
- 1:08:50the kids at the zoo and I said, oh, sometimes get sad going
- 1:08:53to the zoo because no, it's good to get over in there, needing
- 1:08:55there. And I said, yeah, but you know, just imagine we
- 1:08:58had COVID again next week and you got locked in this house for the next
- 1:09:00two years. Would you like that? No, you'd fucking complain. No.
- 1:09:03I know you're everything you want in this house, but you don't want
- 1:09:05to be stuck in the same house with the rest of your life, do
- 1:09:08you? Ye? Can't about side anyway? Enough about You might have asked
- 1:09:11him aout the wrong time because he's you know, he's still got still the
- 1:09:13honeymoon phase of the house, like mate, everything, he's got everything.
- 1:09:15An Yeah, Andrew Kelly, what great ape would you fight in a hand
- 1:09:20to hand combat if you had to, as in, if aliens were putting
- 1:09:24you into a battlesphere for their enjoyment and they gave you a choice, Well,
- 1:09:30we first got My first choice will be can we please have the music
- 1:09:33I've got to have my entry music. Yes, um, I small.
- 1:09:39He's talking about like fictional apes or like a particular type of pride. Let's
- 1:09:43go with fictional apes. That makes it, That makes it better somehow funnier.
- 1:09:49Not King Kong obviously, because we wouldn't survive that. But are there
- 1:09:51any apes? Was some what are some fictional apes? Great pape? You
- 1:09:58have ever heard thee? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, there the American one.
- 1:10:00What about apes are popping? I'm not what's what's apes are popping?
- 1:10:04That's in the Simpsons actually goes I've got some of the movies that you're like
- 1:10:10And at the end, at the end, he goes away in the cage
- 1:10:13just because he's different. Awesome. Sorry I forgot that. Um there's a
- 1:10:18gorilla in the movie. Have you seen a Baby's Day Out with your man
- 1:10:23Joe Montaignan, I have indeed seen Baby Day Days Out with Baby Bink,
- 1:10:28Yes, yes, which is clearly just a guy in a in a suit.
- 1:10:30Thank you. I like to fight that one because I like to think
- 1:10:32that I've got a chance because essentially it's just another human in a suit.
- 1:10:35True. Um, I would probably like to fight Dunston from the motion picture
- 1:10:41Dunston checks in. Yeah, even though Dunston seems real cool. But we
- 1:10:45would fight for you know, the other room in the hotel. Yes,
- 1:10:50and then and then we bond, you know. Then after it would be
- 1:10:54bros. And we get in some rooms. Yeah where yeah? Yeah.
- 1:10:57What's the chicken? The backwards cap on it on the cover of that is
- 1:11:00that doesn't checks in? Thinking or I thinking of Andre, thinking of Andre,
- 1:11:05and I thinking of yes, yes, yes, now I know it
- 1:11:09doesn't checks him. But I thought there was a chick in that movie as
- 1:11:11well, like a young girl. Maybe I'm wrong, you're talking about like
- 1:11:14a chick, like a chicken. I thought, like, I've never seen
- 1:11:17Dunes and checks in, But I just thought it was like somebody's pet or
- 1:11:20something. I don't know. I think I think I saw it maybe just
- 1:11:23once. I just remember that it's a I think it's an a ranger.
- 1:11:26Chang checks h okay. Then Mark Boston Burgess, were you guys weener kids?
- 1:11:32Or did you take risks? I was the one who dared people to
- 1:11:35take the risk, and then when ship went down, I ran away and
- 1:11:39hid. I'd be like, hey, get that rock and throw it on
- 1:11:42that person's roof. That'd be funny. Go knock on that person's door and
- 1:11:44run away, that'd be funny. Meanwhile, I'm just hiding in the bush
- 1:11:46she's got and they're getting into you're the corruptor. Yeah. Yeah, I
- 1:11:51was a straight up ween a kid. Yeah, yeah, I was.
- 1:11:55I was a goody two shoes. There was a point in high school,
- 1:11:58seeing about this recently, actually the threat primary school, I was, you
- 1:12:00know, goody two shoes. I mean, I still have plenty of friends,
- 1:12:02still popular school captain, blah blah blah. But I was definitely like
- 1:12:05a bookworm, Like I was nerdy, right, and it got to high
- 1:12:09school. In the first year of high school, I won like the year
- 1:12:12seven award for my best student, like the Lisa Simpson Award. And then
- 1:12:15I think it was somebody between a year at and year nine where I sort
- 1:12:16of went this shit matters, and then I just sort of realized, yeah,
- 1:12:21I want to get a media degree. I need to focus on all
- 1:12:24this accounting. You know. I kind of ship and I just sort of
- 1:12:26I could have done better at school, but I didn't because I just went,
- 1:12:30why don't I don't care. I knew what you're wanting. I knew
- 1:12:32what I wanted to do, and yeah, look at me now I knew
- 1:12:34and iye podcasting for a different who won? And final question here will choose
- 1:12:42one more Kirsty Hodgkinson. Have you guys watched the latest episodes on Disney If
- 1:12:45yes, what do you think? We've answered this one recently as well.
- 1:12:48I have definitely watched all of the episodes that have been on Disney Plus in
- 1:12:51season thirty four. I've thought this season. I was actually discussing this with
- 1:12:56their man, Timothy Belson twenty dollars patient of the show last night at Facebook,
- 1:13:00talking about how there seems to be a lot more Metish episodes in this
- 1:13:04season, and I'm not sure whether that's just Matt Salmon sort of just fucking
- 1:13:09with the audience or I just think he just likes matter episodes, where then
- 1:13:12non Cannon he's a fan of that, which was fine, But when you
- 1:13:15have like six or seven in the one twenty two episode season, it feels
- 1:13:19like a lot. I don't know, but you know, thirty four seasons,
- 1:13:23you know, because it's hard to come up with fresh ideas that people
- 1:13:25aren't going to shitt all over. I did see a lot of people shitting
- 1:13:28all over the latest episode with Lizzo, they were actually just there. Just
- 1:13:32the mere idea of her being in the show just seemed to piss a lot
- 1:13:34of people off. And I don't understand why, like she's done something wrong,
- 1:13:38Like what do people have against her? I don't think they enjoy the
- 1:13:43fact that she is out and proud about being a big gal. Wait,
- 1:13:48so because she's okay with being fat than it? Like that's what the issue
- 1:13:55is? Why? Because some people are dicads, Okay, then as long
- 1:13:59as we're both clear on that, okay, then sure fine, everyone's like,
- 1:14:04oh, it's gonna be like when Lady Gaga was on. I still
- 1:14:06have not seen that episode, so I think I think you and I need
- 1:14:10to watch it as a Patreon exclusive because it's like a defining moment in the
- 1:14:13stue that's instant the episode apparently one already goes by the way, Harrison mcclauda
- 1:14:20says, can an oreo ever be ranked? I mean, I've never been
- 1:14:27huge on oreos. Call me crazy. I'm just not a but I'm not
- 1:14:29a desserts man. Though I'm not a biscuits and a chocolate kind of guy.
- 1:14:32I will I will eat it and enjoy it, but I don't crave
- 1:14:35it much. Like I know you're a b apple pie man, that's true.
- 1:14:39I'm also a cookie dude, and I do like an Oreo. They're
- 1:14:42an inexpensive cookie. Um. You know, sometimes they'll be marked down.
- 1:14:46It's like, oh, that's that's a pretty good price for that to you
- 1:14:48by orios. I think I might go get something, particularly cinnamon button flavor,
- 1:14:51which is basically just a sugar rush. I mean that's they're really nice,
- 1:14:56but oh just feeling your teeth rotting head as you eat it? Um,
- 1:15:00can they ever be ranked? Yes? They can? I mean one
- 1:15:02thing about him? So you have to see them right up once you've opened
- 1:15:05the open the tube because the air hits him and they start to turn into
- 1:15:09like it's like McDonald's fries's fry. For just a little while, I was
- 1:15:14like, oh, you've turned into the codeboard that you that contained you.
- 1:15:18It's like one machine makes cardboard boxes, the other machine makes the chips.
- 1:15:24But the Yeah. The campaign though, like the ad for Oreos, was
- 1:15:28fantastic that you can have the rest in my milk. It taught so many
- 1:15:31people that chocolate isn't good for dogs and the whole twist and yeah, twist
- 1:15:38and something. It reminds me of m making the smalls and sound like kids,
- 1:15:42you know, the process of making a dessert even more delicious. I
- 1:15:45always love that. Lu and I are watching some TV the other night and
- 1:15:49um, someone had made like a little small's kit. But yeah, Lu
- 1:15:55didn't really know about smalls and she was looking at that's pretty sort of piss
- 1:15:58poor a little you know buffet they put together. It's like, no,
- 1:16:00I think they're actually going to make like, um, it's like a sweet
- 1:16:03jaffle. That's how I explain yet to look like. Sound's not bad.
- 1:16:08That's pretty good. Alright, Well that is the mail bag for but has
- 1:16:15two mummies. The next season seventeen episode is going to be which one mister
- 1:16:18Davis is the mom of Ricky Gervais? Is it Ricky Gervais? Ricky Gervais?
- 1:16:21I think it's Ricky Gervaise. Yeah, Homer Simpson, this is your
- 1:16:27wife. An episode that really confused me as a kid, and I don't
- 1:16:30think i've ever watched it since. I remember with him on his first AD
- 1:16:32and I was like, who is this guy? Why is he speaking weird?
- 1:16:35What is happening? Right now, So I'm actually looking forward to going
- 1:16:39back and revisiting it seeing him. It's just as confusing as it isn't as
- 1:16:42it was then as it is now. Boy, do I have news for
- 1:16:45you? Have you've watched it already? Oh no, But that's a story
- 1:16:50for another time. It is indeed all right, guys, don't forget the
- 1:16:54folds on social media supporters on Patreon if you can, for the exclusive staff
- 1:16:57and Facebook groups and all the other stuff. Mister Davison find the words for
- 1:17:00those incredible listeners out there. Well, listeners, I hope this episode gave
- 1:17:03you your favorite kind of enjoyment. Mild
