- 0:17Speaker 1: couple players and the head coach to talk about the
- 0:19Speaker 1: expectations on the upcoming year. And you know, you get
- 0:21Speaker 1: everybody relaxed in the off season. Everybody's winning when you're
- 0:24Speaker 1: in the off season. This episode we have Dylan Reola.
- 0:27Speaker 1: We talked to him about the quarterback room. Being a
- 0:29Speaker 1: five star recruit, I compare him to Jesus Christ of
- 0:31Speaker 1: the New Testament and all the expectations that come with
- 0:34Speaker 1: him coming to Nebraska. And then I also talk to
- 0:36Speaker 1: him about what was the other thing, Mitch, keep your
- 0:40Speaker 1: room to hit to keep your room.
- 0:43Speaker 2: That's fans recruiting journey.
- 0:46Speaker 1: In his recruiting journey, he committed to Ohio State, then
- 0:49Speaker 1: he d committed and went to Georgia. Then he d
- 0:51Speaker 1: committed and came to Big Red Country. But thank you
- 0:54Speaker 1: guys for watching again. If you're watching, make sure you're subscribed,
- 0:57Speaker 1: make sure you're leaving comments, and again, thank you so
- 0:59Speaker 1: much much for all the support. Big hugs, tiny kisses,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and go big Red. All Right, welcome back to another
- 1:06Speaker 1: episode of Busts with the Boys. My first question, Dylan Rola,
- 1:11Speaker 1: who wrote the poem?
- 1:14Speaker 3: I didn't write it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I had to know. I had to ask pushing that poem. No, yeah, people, Well,
- 1:27Speaker 1: people are gonna try and come to me like, oh
- 1:29Speaker 1: you write this poem. Yeah, I'm gonna write for my
- 1:31Speaker 1: guy like there's no Yeah, it's a hell of a poem.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But I still got to ask who wrote it? You
- 1:36Speaker 1: know what I mean. I'm never gonna sit here and
- 1:39Speaker 1: and we were just laying in my man and just
- 1:42Speaker 1: start clowning, like do any of that. I'm not gonna
- 1:44Speaker 1: fall into any of that. Pure pressure. I'm riding my guy.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Indeed, Yeah, you was definitely right.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Did your dad write it?
- 1:53Speaker 3: Nah? My dad and mom actually had someone do it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Oh nice, Yeah nice?
- 1:57Speaker 2: So I mean that was smart though. Yeah, it just
- 2:00Speaker 2: looks better, you know what I mean.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I was trying to I was trying to get I
- 2:04Speaker 1: was telling Rule. I was like, yeah, here he's on campus,
- 2:06Speaker 1: like let me FaceTime in and close the deal for you.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah, last and I was at his apartment and he
- 2:11Speaker 4: told me about it, and I was like, well, I
- 2:13Speaker 4: was trying to get you to close the deal right now.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Like I couldn't tell him.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I was later on Sunday, Oh, I think I had,
- 2:21Speaker 1: like Orlovsky tipped me off. Yeah, hed not not to
- 2:25Speaker 1: out my boy Orlosky, which I just did. But I
- 2:28Speaker 1: was like, yeah, ill keep it under the rafts. Like
- 2:29Speaker 1: He's like, you didn't hear it from me? I was like,
- 2:30Speaker 1: oh man, we gotta fucking we almost guy, we gotta
- 2:33Speaker 1: get dealing. Hey, but for real, talk to us about
- 2:36Speaker 1: your recruiting. You were committed to Ohio State first, then
- 2:40Speaker 1: you commit decommand then go to Georgia and correct me
- 2:44Speaker 1: if I'm wrong. You were you were you living in Georgia.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I was, So you're getting acclimated to be a Georgia
- 2:49Speaker 1: Bulldog best in the country, and then you flip last
- 2:52Speaker 1: minute to Nebraska. Take us through the recruiting process of dyling.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean Ohio State. That was that happened fast.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I wasn't really ready to commit and then I went,
- 3:04Speaker 4: you know, went there. A couple of times, I kind
- 3:05Speaker 4: of was like, this is where I want to be.
- 3:07Speaker 4: And then things changed and you know, Georgia was my
- 3:11Speaker 4: first offer. So I always always loved Georgia, love Coach Smart,
- 3:15Speaker 4: and then uh moved to Georgia.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I wouldn't regret it. I loved it just for the
- 3:20Speaker 3: state it was.
- 3:21Speaker 2: And then.
- 3:24Speaker 4: I don't know, after the season was over, I'm like, Dad,
- 3:27Speaker 4: like I want to do something different. I don't like
- 3:29Speaker 4: Georgia is the best team. Yeah, I respect coach Smart
- 3:32Speaker 4: and everything he does, but like Nebrassa's the only place
- 3:35Speaker 4: that you can bring back and it can mean something
- 3:37Speaker 4: more than we just want a game or won a championship.
- 3:41Speaker 4: I think we do that here, make a lot of
- 3:43Speaker 4: people happy and it'll be special.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Did you did you not like Georgia like the city
- 3:52Speaker 2: of Georgia where you was at?
- 3:54Speaker 1: Like what?
- 3:55Speaker 2: Like something had to make you not want to go
- 3:58Speaker 2: to Georgia? Like what was it? The city? Did you
- 4:00Speaker 2: not feel like you fit it in in Georgia? Like
- 4:04Speaker 2: what was it?
- 4:05Speaker 4: I want to do something different. I mean, I think
- 4:08Speaker 4: it's normal for the five star guys to go to
- 4:11Speaker 4: the Alabama's, Georgia's and Clemson, which they can do all that, right,
- 4:16Speaker 4: but I think having the legacy my dad left here,
- 4:19Speaker 4: the names in the stadium, so much history of this place.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I was like, Lincoln, Nebraska is a special place and
- 4:27Speaker 4: they just need they just need, you know, to be
- 4:29Speaker 4: have winners in the program and gonna make it happen.
- 4:32Speaker 1: What uh, if we're thinking about if we're thinking about
- 4:36Speaker 1: the beginning, because obviously, like, yeah, being a big time
- 4:38Speaker 1: recruit like you are, you get fascinated with like the
- 4:41Speaker 1: Georgia's and the Bamas. Like you were saying, what was
- 4:43Speaker 1: it in the what was it through the transition or
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the beginning that maybe you weren't wanting to go
- 4:48Speaker 1: to Nebraska or whether you're just playing hard to get,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but what what what was it that was kind of
- 4:53Speaker 1: cultivating other than you were just kind of waking up
- 4:56Speaker 1: and be like I want to do something different, Like
- 4:58Speaker 1: what was kind of happening or didn't happen in the
- 4:59Speaker 1: be and what happened in the end to kind of
- 5:02Speaker 1: get you to come back to Nebraska.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, coach will always preach me what you
- 5:05Speaker 4: want to do for this program, but for me, I
- 5:08Speaker 4: needed to see it.
- 5:09Speaker 3: And even though they were in five and seven.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I think there's a lot of a lot of things
- 5:12Speaker 4: that happened that that they could have been eleven to
- 5:15Speaker 4: one and just lose to Michigan. So I took that
- 5:19Speaker 4: as a as a positive. And I actually was here
- 5:21Speaker 4: for the Michigan game, and you know, I felt a
- 5:24Speaker 4: different vibe than, you know, than I came before.
- 5:26Speaker 3: So I felt like, let's do it.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll talk about NIL deals, Like, was that was
- 5:35Speaker 5: that like a big part in your recruiting class too, Like,
- 5:38Speaker 5: was a lot of people pursuing you with n IL deals?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Like, tell us what that looked like?
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's a different that's different time and recruiting
- 5:47Speaker 4: in NIL space. People do it different ways, come at
- 5:51Speaker 4: you different ways. But for me, I didn't handle that stuff.
- 5:55Speaker 4: My parents handled it, my my marketing team handled it.
- 5:58Speaker 4: So I'm grateful for that. I didn't want to deal
- 6:01Speaker 4: with that. Yeah, you guys handle that. I'll play football
- 6:03Speaker 4: And that's kind of how.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I like it.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And that's great too. How how beneficial is it to
- 6:08Speaker 1: have like, you know, your uncle, he's obviously here and
- 6:11Speaker 1: has success in the coaching world. Your dad had an
- 6:14Speaker 1: unbelievable career and has had a lot of success in
- 6:17Speaker 1: this business. How much of a head start do you
- 6:19Speaker 1: feel like you have kind of having those influences to
- 6:22Speaker 1: help you out, because a lot of kids too, they
- 6:23Speaker 1: don't necessarily have all these pieces around them or understand that.
- 6:27Speaker 1: How helpful and how influential has your family been.
- 6:30Speaker 4: It's been tremendous. I mean, my dad's been through it all,
- 6:34Speaker 4: seeing it all. My mom was with him the whole time,
- 6:36Speaker 4: so she's seen it on the back end. And yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 4: I think it's been great just to help me stay
- 6:43Speaker 4: focused on football. And really, all I know when I'm
- 6:47Speaker 4: getting paid is when it hits my account, so it's
- 6:49Speaker 4: like just keep working.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Yeah, my parents been great, great for me and you know,
- 6:55Speaker 4: kind of teaching me how to spand save all those
- 6:57Speaker 4: different kind of things.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Man, Now I want to talk about award.
- 7:02Speaker 6: So you got the Polynesian Football Award for twenty twenty three. Man,
- 7:08Speaker 6: tell us about that, Like, how did that feel, especially
- 7:10Speaker 6: being from the Pacific Island giving back? Got so many
- 7:13Speaker 6: people out there watching you want to be in your
- 7:15Speaker 6: footsteps and do what you do.
- 7:16Speaker 4: What does that mean to you? It was special leaving Hawaii.
- 7:20Speaker 4: You know, I call that home because that's you know
- 7:21Speaker 4: where I grew up, but it was special. And I
- 7:25Speaker 4: went out there two years before to kind of help
- 7:27Speaker 4: promote the game for my year, and I set out
- 7:31Speaker 4: to go win that award, and I think to win
- 7:33Speaker 4: it was special. But you know, when I left home,
- 7:37Speaker 4: I never played football and I only started playing football
- 7:39Speaker 4: in freshman year at least quarterback.
- 7:42Speaker 3: And so to go back.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Home play in front of my family and friends, it
- 7:47Speaker 4: was like it was weird because when I was at home,
- 7:49Speaker 4: I played baseball. Never see me in shorter paths and
- 7:52Speaker 4: a helmet and you had to come back. That's actually
- 7:55Speaker 4: my mom went to high school. So for real, Yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 4: it was like weird, mom went the high school.
- 8:00Speaker 6: Yeah, you got to go back and do it there
- 8:02Speaker 6: where your mom was at high school.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Do it there.
- 8:06Speaker 1: You talk about Hawaii and you're in a place like Nebraska,
- 8:10Speaker 1: talk about the change, talk about how you've been getting acclimated.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You were a minior kat too, so you've been in
- 8:14Speaker 1: so you've already you understand the weather here alimated.
- 8:18Speaker 4: It's actually funny the negative when it was super cold.
- 8:21Speaker 4: I was in Hawaii that week, so all my all
- 8:24Speaker 4: my boys back here, like my roommates from Miami, A
- 8:26Speaker 4: couple of guys from Miami. They're freezing over here. I'm like,
- 8:30Speaker 4: I'm in paradise. Yeah, But and I just get used to,
- 8:33Speaker 4: like not having the greenery. You know, there's a lot
- 8:35Speaker 4: of just trees and nothing on the trees.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Some gray.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yeah, you're like, wake up, it's night time. Ready, So
- 8:42Speaker 4: you gotta just get used to.
- 8:44Speaker 1: How's it been? How's it been getting acclimated in the
- 8:46Speaker 1: in the college room? In the college world.
- 8:48Speaker 3: It's fun.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Schools a lot study hall every day for an hour
- 8:51Speaker 4: turns into two hours to get your work done?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Is it? Is it mandatory?
- 8:55Speaker 4: Manatory fresh Yeah, So you gotta put your time and
- 8:58Speaker 4: then you can get out of there.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That's what I'm trying to do.
- 9:01Speaker 1: They have a certain GPA to get out of it.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I think that's.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I want you at that three to zero.
- 9:08Speaker 2: All right, I'm gone, But most people come.
- 9:12Speaker 6: I'll be like, bro, don't get back and study all program, Like,
- 9:15Speaker 6: don't come back?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Why you get out to come back?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Right? Right? Bro? Take care of your class.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Take care of your class. So how is the quarterback room?
- 9:25Speaker 6: You know you coming in?
- 9:26Speaker 2: You the hot you hot ship.
- 9:29Speaker 6: Everybody talking about you. You know, you got starters in there,
- 9:32Speaker 6: what what it looked like in there?
- 9:34Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 9:36Speaker 4: I think the first couple of times were like trying
- 9:39Speaker 4: to learn the plays is like, man, I don't like
- 9:41Speaker 4: I'm not used to not knowing the plays, but coming
- 9:43Speaker 4: to a new system and and uh I got to
- 9:46Speaker 4: catch up and learn. So it kind of forced me
- 9:48Speaker 4: to speed up, grow up faster. But it's been fun competing,
- 9:53Speaker 4: you know, just trying to enjoy the room. I mean,
- 9:56Speaker 4: there's there's a lot that can happen, but uh, I
- 9:59Speaker 4: think competition is the only way to settle it.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, indeed, how do you feel like you handle? Because
- 10:05Speaker 1: obviously you come in with all the expectation. Everybody's aware
- 10:07Speaker 1: of the expectation of dealing, especially coming in Nebraska. You
- 10:10Speaker 1: know how this fan base is right basically you coming
- 10:12Speaker 1: in as it aligns a lot with what Jesus did
- 10:15Speaker 1: in the New Testament. Yeah, how do you do? How
- 10:17Speaker 1: do you feel like you deal or handle? I guess
- 10:21Speaker 1: the pressure with it doesn't feel natural to you? Does
- 10:23Speaker 1: it feel easy? Doesn't feel like a distraction at times?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Like what are you doing and what are you leaning on?
- 10:28Speaker 1: To kind of deal with all of that?
- 10:30Speaker 4: I think to just hear the expectations and kind of
- 10:33Speaker 4: you can feel it, you know, you walk out and
- 10:35Speaker 4: you go hang out the guys and around downtown, you
- 10:38Speaker 4: can just feel people are waiting a wind. And I
- 10:41Speaker 4: think that's motivation for me now, I don't want to
- 10:43Speaker 4: let these people down coming in with all the expectations.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I just want to deliver.
- 10:48Speaker 4: And I think that's just a message I have to
- 10:51Speaker 4: me my guys, you know, one on one with them
- 10:54Speaker 4: is we have a lot of talent in the room.
- 10:56Speaker 4: We have a lot of skill, and we can go
- 10:58Speaker 4: make it happen. We just we got to stay focused.
- 11:01Speaker 4: You know, we go out start two three, and oh,
- 11:04Speaker 4: people are tell us how good we are. We just
- 11:06Speaker 4: got to stay focused and keep going.
- 11:09Speaker 6: So, what it's like when you outside this campus, like
- 11:12Speaker 6: people notice you, like people coming up asking for your photos.
- 11:16Speaker 6: What it's like, because I mean you you was a
- 11:18Speaker 6: big thing.
- 11:19Speaker 2: We know. My man's was.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Keep being in the Nebraska Athlete. I feel like this
- 11:23Speaker 1: place the just no, it's you.
- 11:26Speaker 6: Are the I feel like if you like a top
- 11:27Speaker 6: guy like him, yeah, I feel like they gonna know.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I don't think they knew who you.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Were, right, I know, the dude who had the juice
- 11:38Speaker 1: when I was playing, it was like rex Burg Ka,
- 11:39Speaker 1: Taylor Martinez, Kenny Bell. Kenny Bell like worked at the
- 11:43Speaker 1: bar of the bar. He would he would work at
- 11:45Speaker 1: the bar of the bar until like three in the
- 11:47Speaker 1: morning and close it down, like work there as an
- 11:49Speaker 1: employee and then come to work out till like seven
- 11:52Speaker 1: in the morning. Yeah that's crazy. But yeah, those dudes
- 11:55Speaker 1: had the jews like you're Yeah, I feel I feel what.
- 11:57Speaker 2: You what I'm saying.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Oh my god, Hey, but the fan bases is awesome.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yeah, it's crazy. I'm ready for the spring game. I
- 12:07Speaker 4: just I don't know how I'm gonna get that ton
- 12:09Speaker 4: of walk. I've seen it growing up, watching it saw
- 12:12Speaker 4: as a recruit, and I don't think it's gonna be
- 12:15Speaker 4: way different actually doing it. Yeah, but yeah, I mean
- 12:19Speaker 4: what you're saying it's cool people notice me is it's
- 12:22Speaker 4: kind of I gotta make sure I'm looking sharp walk out.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I can't wear joggers and look like all sloppy. I
- 12:30Speaker 4: gotta be matching, try to where a d It's just
- 12:33Speaker 4: that's what we are. And yeah, that's kind of how
- 12:36Speaker 4: you feel.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Do you play a role in uh in recruiting? Like
- 12:39Speaker 1: you being a five star coming here and knowing like
- 12:41Speaker 1: we gotta get uh you know some of those some
- 12:43Speaker 1: of those four and five star guys. Do you find
- 12:45Speaker 1: yourself playing a role in recruiting, Like are you DM
- 12:46Speaker 1: and casts?
- 12:47Speaker 4: Are you like, yeah, I'm trying to help bring as
- 12:50Speaker 4: much talent as you can't hear. I mean, recruiting season
- 12:53Speaker 4: now and everyone's everyone's coming through to come and see us,
- 12:57Speaker 4: and you know, get text from recruiting people, come see
- 13:00Speaker 4: this guy, Come see this guy. I'm like, I got class,
- 13:03Speaker 4: I got all this stuff, Like, yeah, I'll come say
- 13:06Speaker 4: what's up? But it's fun. I mean I remember being
- 13:08Speaker 4: recruited signed to how it feels.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, are you familiar with like who visits and things
- 13:12Speaker 1: like that?
- 13:13Speaker 6: Uh?
- 13:14Speaker 3: If I'm not, yes, But if i'm not, catch me
- 13:17Speaker 3: up real quick.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Watch five clips of their highlights and be like, all right,
- 13:21Speaker 3: he's good.
- 13:22Speaker 6: I mean you landed to receivers just because of him
- 13:25Speaker 6: coming here. I think, I want to say Davon Hall
- 13:28Speaker 6: and there Yeah, yeah, so they landed when they seen
- 13:34Speaker 6: they got him landed two top receivers. That's gonna be
- 13:38Speaker 6: should bring something to the table, be something to be.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Excited to watch. It's up it's up. Yeah, make no.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Mistake, I'm not hating bro.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I am not. I am a Will Compton hater. Not
- 13:52Speaker 2: in the breast.
- 13:55Speaker 1: What we were sitting with the we were sitting Nash
- 13:58Speaker 1: a little bit ago, and the question him was his
- 14:01Speaker 1: favorite post away and meal from running Way, like, what
- 14:05Speaker 1: is your what is one of your go to spots
- 14:06Speaker 1: in link in Nebraska? A go to meal?
- 14:09Speaker 4: I mean everyone talks about runs. I haven't had it yet,
- 14:13Speaker 4: but I like Kenes. I think I had knes the
- 14:16Speaker 4: first time ever was in Nebraska. So I always going
- 14:19Speaker 4: to the same canes right downtown and give me a
- 14:22Speaker 4: box Combo.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Box combo. You take this law or you sub it out?
- 14:25Speaker 3: No, I sub it out Mortos.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Wait, but didn't you live in Arizona for a little bit?
- 14:31Speaker 2: I did? Yeah, I looked at it. Didn't have a cane.
- 14:34Speaker 3: When I went through high school. I tried not to eat
- 14:36Speaker 3: fast food.
- 14:38Speaker 1: What's your what are your thoughts on in and Out?
- 14:40Speaker 4: Oh man, I'm a Shakeshack fan. I love shakeshat way
- 14:44Speaker 4: better than shit.
- 14:45Speaker 1: He's right, Shakeshack's better than in and Out.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm talking about five guys.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Five guys is also elite. It's five guys.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Elite, elite, expensive to.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Fifteen dollars a burger. For a sloppy burger, they throw
- 15:01Speaker 6: it in that foil.
- 15:02Speaker 2: You got to wash your hands.
- 15:06Speaker 3: We can't wear whites.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You talking about the breads wet because.
- 15:11Speaker 2: It's old juice. Uf. Yeah, man, that thing be sloppy,
- 15:15Speaker 2: be dripping you what I'm saying, I'm.
- 15:20Speaker 1: On like a I'm on a journey to get everybody
- 15:22Speaker 1: saying that in and outs average because I did it's average.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I think it is average. I just like a fresh burger.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Hey, Gary, you heard you saw right.
- 15:30Speaker 3: It's like going to McDonald's to get a burger.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I think I like McDonald's.
- 15:34Speaker 1: He tries to say McDonald's is better than it is.
- 15:37Speaker 6: The Big Mac is untouchable at back at Max sauce,
- 15:41Speaker 6: extra Max sauce. You gotta put another cheese because big
- 15:44Speaker 6: Back only put what cheese. I don't know why they
- 15:46Speaker 6: do that.
- 15:47Speaker 1: You wish us hyping the Big Mac? What? Growing up?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Who are some quarterbacks that you try to emulate your game?
- 15:53Speaker 4: After Stafford? I was girlfriend Stafford. He was a gun slinger.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Still is my boy, Patty pat my homesack. It's cool
- 16:06Speaker 4: to watch him play and I know I did to
- 16:09Speaker 4: train with him and be around him. It's pretty cool.
- 16:13Speaker 4: I'm supposed to play golf here in a little bit together. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 4: I just got some new sticks, so I gotta if
- 16:20Speaker 4: I have time to go out and practice and playing today,
- 16:24Speaker 4: that's what they said o'clock. I don't have my club's
- 16:27Speaker 4: on here yet.
- 16:28Speaker 6: So is your game similar to Pats like, because y'all
- 16:32Speaker 6: got like that similar body style.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I try.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I try to be my own guy, but I try
- 16:38Speaker 4: to take what he does. Just the Super Bowl run,
- 16:42Speaker 4: what he was doing with his I watched his feet.
- 16:45Speaker 4: You know, everybody watches all his throws, and you know,
- 16:48Speaker 4: we trained the same guy, so I can kind of
- 16:51Speaker 4: understand what he's doing. But you know, he's feeling all
- 16:53Speaker 4: that pressure and he's kind of just buying time and
- 16:56Speaker 4: he's so strong in the lower half and he just
- 16:59Speaker 4: he makes throws.
- 17:00Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, crazy.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Did you just were you a massive Stafford fan? I
- 17:05Speaker 1: assume growing up with him being on uh, your dad's team.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Yeah, he was like a young pup and my dad
- 17:11Speaker 4: called him a young pup. He uh funny hit him
- 17:14Speaker 4: and his wife there.
- 17:15Speaker 3: He was rookie year.
- 17:16Speaker 4: They they didn't get anything for Christmas dinner meal, and
- 17:20Speaker 4: so they woke up Christmas Day and we're like, everything's closed,
- 17:24Speaker 4: like texting my dad, everything's closed, and my Dad's like,
- 17:26Speaker 4: it's Christmas. So he just had him over to the
- 17:29Speaker 4: house and he it was just funny because he didn't
- 17:31Speaker 4: know nothing's open on Christmas.
- 17:33Speaker 3: He's still trying to figure it out.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Hey, what a what a what a celebration? His celebration
- 17:39Speaker 1: video after the Super Bowl.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the photographer fell off.
- 17:44Speaker 3: He didn't know what to do.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I mean he didn't know where he was at. I mean,
- 17:48Speaker 1: he's celebrating.
- 17:49Speaker 6: So you was a young buck being around him as
- 17:51Speaker 6: a young kid, and you didn't even play football at
- 17:55Speaker 6: the time.
- 17:56Speaker 4: I didn't even know how to grip. I used to
- 17:58Speaker 4: just hold the ball like this and throw it my hand.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Why didn't you play before freshman year?
- 18:02Speaker 4: I was scared, for real, scared, really. I didn't want
- 18:05Speaker 4: to get hit. Linebackers got bad intentions. What changed your mind?
- 18:10Speaker 4: I like, I was a catch yourself. I was always
- 18:12Speaker 4: a thrower, and uh I'm not. I was like quarterback,
- 18:17Speaker 4: a little tom. I didn't get my dad's like a
- 18:21Speaker 4: little bigger body bill. Let see if I can found
- 18:24Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Like not too bad. I don't want to go too big.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Not too big. He's a little skinny.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Now damn just go out there and sing. Then you
- 18:32Speaker 1: sling it and you're like, okay, maybe I'm all right at.
- 18:34Speaker 2: This point, you like, I don't get hit. This is it?
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:38Speaker 3: I know you get flags? Now you get hit.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys do get you gotta do.
- 18:44Speaker 3: If you get hit late on the flag, you just you.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Can kind of flop a little bit.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Now, throw your hands up your does just let your
- 18:52Speaker 2: head hit the ground. Yeah, right right flag.
- 18:56Speaker 1: A little bit like like r G to like he's
- 19:01Speaker 1: in a car wreck every time we got anything else
- 19:04Speaker 1: we're doing. Favorite thing you haven't been around long enough,
- 19:09Speaker 1: but I'll still ask the question. Favorite thing about coach
- 19:13Speaker 1: rule and then a pet peeve for coach rule.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Favorite thing about cultural. He's got some juice, and I
- 19:20Speaker 4: like his juice. He's always he's always like trying to
- 19:23Speaker 4: you know, he's a players coach, so he's always around
- 19:25Speaker 4: us trying.
- 19:26Speaker 3: To match our juice, and we're not matching his juice.
- 19:30Speaker 3: So let us know. You know, he's really loud.
- 19:32Speaker 4: But his biggest pet feet is Matt dres I came
- 19:35Speaker 4: here and all I heard was about Matt DROs And
- 19:38Speaker 4: we got a whole two months or a whole month
- 19:40Speaker 4: of training before, and I'm like, well, I'm not gonna
- 19:42Speaker 4: see these Matt DROs. Like you guys keep talking about it,
- 19:45Speaker 4: but when are they gonna come? And when they came,
- 19:48Speaker 4: that's like his baby. He's all in on that. He
- 19:51Speaker 4: believes in it and he goes with.
- 19:53Speaker 3: It the.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Feel I've heard about him.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you're like wheezing.
- 19:58Speaker 2: You're like, what's the what do it consists of?
- 20:02Speaker 3: You?
- 20:03Speaker 4: Uh, basically start behind the lines like military. You gotta
- 20:06Speaker 4: snap down on account. You gotta dive out, pop up,
- 20:09Speaker 4: sli shuffle, different things like that, and you gotta go
- 20:12Speaker 4: sled push races. Then you gotta go to the med
- 20:15Speaker 4: ball like a wrestle. So you're like locked in the
- 20:17Speaker 4: one med ball with two people on one person on
- 20:20Speaker 4: each side.
- 20:20Speaker 3: You guys just hold a little bit.
- 20:23Speaker 4: I mean you're getting elbowed and people are falling all
- 20:26Speaker 4: over the place, and there's agility and then the best
- 20:29Speaker 4: stations the walking.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Speed for him. You're trying to work on your speed
- 20:33Speaker 3: for him.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You're like, I get it, break.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Well, bro, thanks for coming on. Man, thanks been awesome. Yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and shout out coach Rule letting Dylan come on. I
- 20:43Speaker 1: had to kind of like talk them into it a
- 20:45Speaker 1: little bit, like, come on, man, I'm not going to
- 20:46Speaker 1: talk too much about the quarterback situation, but thank you man.
- 20:49Speaker 1: It's been awesome.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yeah. Absolutely,
